IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT GENETICALLY ENGINEERED FOODS YOULL NEVER HEAR FROM MAINSTREAM

MEDIA.

byARJUN WALIA

in 1996, Steven M. Druker did something very few Americans were doing then learn the

facts about the massive venture to restructure the genetic core of the worlds food supply.

The problem of unawareness still exists today, but its getting much better thanks to activists

like Druker.

Druker, being a public interest attorney and the Executive Director of the Alliance For

Bio-Integrity, initiated a lawsuit in 1998 that forced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration

(FDA) to divulge its files on genetically engineered foods.

Hes recently published a book on the lawsuit (2015). In the book, Druker provides details

of his experience, and hes also released the documents on his website showing the significant

hazards of genetically engineering foods and the flaws that the FDA made in its policy.

Its called Altered Genes, Twisted Truth: How the Venture to Genetically Engineer Our

Food Has Subverted Science, Corrupted Government, and Systematically Deceived the Public.

The book has some very impressive reviews. For example, David Schubert, Ph.D., molecular

biologist and Head of Cellular Neurobiology at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies

said that this incisive and insightful book is truly outstanding. Not only is it

well-reasoned and scientifically solid, its a pleasure to read and a must-read.

Stephen Naylor, Ph.D., CEO and Chariman of Mai Health Inc., an individual who spent 10

years as a Professor of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Pharmacology and the Mayo Clinic

stated that Drukers meticulously documented, well crafted, and spell binding narrative

should serve as a clarion call to all of us.

Joseph Cummins, Ph.D. and Professor Emeritus of Genetics at Western University in London,

Ontario believes that Drukers book is a landmark and that it should be required

reading in every university biology course.

John Ikerd, Ph.D. and Professor Emeritus of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the

University of Missouri further accentuated the previous statements by saying that the

evidence is comprehensive and irrefutable; the reasoning is clear and compelling. No

one has documented other cases of irresponsible behaviour by government regulators and the

scientific establishment nearly as well as Druker documents this one.

In publishing his book and filing this lawsuit, Druker exposed how the agency covered up the

warnings of its own scientists about the risks, lied about the facts, and then ushered these

foods onto the market in violation of federal law.

Dr. Jane Goodall wrote the foreword to the book,

As part of the process, they portrayed the various concerns as merely the ignorant

opinions of misinformed individuals and derided them as not only unscientific, but

anti-science. They then set to work to convince the public and government officials, through

the dissemination of false information, that there was an overwhelming expert consensus,

based on solid evidence, that GMOs were safe.

Check out the book here.

Its also noteworthy to mention that Druker has actually served on the food safety panels

at conferences held by the National Research council and the FDA, presented lectures at

numerous universities, met with government officials throughout the world, and conferred

at the White House Executive Offices with a task force of President Clintons Council

on Environmental Quality.

You can also check out his website, where he has published key FDA documents revealing

hazards of genetically engineered foods and the flaws with how the agency made its policy.

A Summary On The Issue With More Shocking Revelations From WikiLeaks

Today, things have changed and more people in America have started to ask more questions,

as well as demand labels on genetically engineered food products. This is thanks to the work

of people like Druker, but there is still lots to do, and much to tackle in order to

get to the bottom of this GMO debate.

Ask yourself: why are dozens upon dozens of countries across the world completely banning

the import or growth of genetically modified foods in their countries? Several of them

have already cited numerous environmental and human health concerns, and others have

simply stated that theyd like to do more research.

When it comes to the actual research, its concerning that the World Health Organization

(WHO) has zero long term studies showing the safety of GE foods.

The only long term study that has been conducted was in November 2012 in the Journal of Food

and Chemical Toxicology by Gilles-Eric Seralini and his team of researchers at Frances

Caen University (source). It was a very significant study that made a lot of noise worldwide,

and the first of its kind under controlled conditions that examined the possible effects

of a GMO maize diet treated with Monsantos Roundup Herbicide.

The study found severe liver and kidney damage as well as hormonal disturbances in rats fed

with GM maize in conjunction with low levels of Roundup that were below those permitted

in most drinking water across Europe. Results also indicated high rates of large tumors

and mortality in most treatment groups.

The study was retracted in North America, but then republished in multiple journals

in Europe, one of them being Environmental Sciences Europe (source).

The North American retraction was the result of strong commercial pressure pressure of

North American biotech companies, like Monsanto, but the re-published studies in Europe (above,

for example) were even more up-to-date and put to rest its previous criticisms.

This is a great example of the politicization of modern day science.

This fact was also made clear by WikiLeaks documents:

Resistance to the advent of genetically modified foods has been pronounced across Europe. The

continent features some of the strictest regulations governing the use and cultivation of GMO products,

and public skepticism about biotech goods is quite high a fact not lost on American

diplomats. In a lengthy report dating from late 2007 , a cable issued by the State Department

outlined its Biotechnology Outreach Strategy, which, among other things, recognized the

European Unions negative views on biology and committed as a national priority to limiting

them (O7STATE160639).

Initial attention paid to the State Departments part in pushing industrial manufactures on

its allies obscured the even bigger role it played in assuring a place for genetically

modified agricultural products (GMOs) in a region that largely wanted nothing to do with

them. The American campaign promoting biotech products was a worldwide effort. In all, some

1,000 documents from the Cablegate cache address this effort, a significant number of which

originate in Europe. U.S. diplomats on the continent gave considerable attention to insuring

the interests of American biotech firms in Europe Whether through education

programs, government lobbying, or outright coercion as well as stripping down European

Union regulations designed to act as a bugger against them. Available cables published by

WikiLeaks suggest that the United States invests considerable time, effort, and expense in

its operations on behalf of the American biotech firms.

Solved Example-8 on Electromagnetic Force (GA_EMF11X3) - Duration: 2:49.

in this example.

the figure shows a long straight current carrying wire with a current i-1. and a thin strip

of width b and length l is placed which is parallel to it.

with a current i-2, as we can see here the strip is placed at a distance r from the wire.

we are require to find the magnetic force of interaction between these 2 currents i-1

and i-2.

now in the solution.

we can directly say as the 2 wires are parallel to each other these will attract each other.

but i-2 is distributed within width b. so here to calculate the magnetic force in strip

at a distance x from the wire we can consider in, elemental.

wire which is of width d-x. if we calculate the current.

In elemental wire.

then this current in elemental

wire d-i can be directly written as i-2 by b into d x because current i-2 is distributed

in a width b. so within a width d-x current will be i-2 by b into d-x. and if we calculate

the force. between. i-1 and d-i. is. d-f. then this d-f can be given by the expression

mu not, i-1 d-I, l upon, 2 pie x. as the force between two wires. separated by x is given

by mu-not i-1 i-2 l by 2 pie x. now in this situation. total force. can be given as integration

of this d-f if we substitute the value of, d-i and we take all constant out of the sign

of integration this will be mu-not. i-1 i-2 l upon 2 pie b. and. this will be integration

of d-x by x within limits of x from. r to r plus b. so this will be the force which

is given by mu-not i-1 i-2 l upon 2 pie b. and this integral is ellen x, which is. having

its limits from r to r plus b. which will give us ellen r plus b minus ellen r and the

final result here will be mu not i-1 i-2 l upon 2 pie b. ellen r plus b upon r. and this

will be the answer to this problem.

[ENG SUB] 040117 GOT7 Jinyoung ALLURE facebook live - Duration: 24:05.

Staff: Standby

Has it started?

Staff: We are starting in 5.4.3.2.1

Yes. It's GOT7 Jinyoung right now.

Hello.

Today we are doing a facebook live in the studio where we are having Allure magazine February issue's photoshoot.

And maybe it's because it is my first live after the new year begun, I am very nervous.

Yes they prepared the mic like that for me too.

It is printed as jinyoung.

It is now 2017 and already 4 days have passed, has everyone received lots of luck?

I think I am already receiving luck because I am doing a photoshoot at the start of the year.

Because I am having a proud start to the new year so I am very happy.

May everyone receive lots of luck in the new year and there are questions.

Is there a goal or resolution you want to achieve? If there is, leave the comments down in the facebook live and I will read it out for sharing.

The filming time is 4th January 8am and the filming location is some studio.

It's written as "Jjin nyoung."

Yes. My name is Park Jin Young.

I am asking you what matters you would like to go well in the new year.

But you are only sending I love you.

Yes Sujin-ssi I love you too.

Natasha ??? says so handsome.

My hair is really well done today right? My makeup too is very very (well done).

She wants to go to GOT7's fanmeeting.

If you want to come to the fanmeeting then you have to become our fan right? Yes.

To get employed. I will pray for you cos I have no power to get you employed.

JYP! If you come to JYP as my manager I will be an artiste that listens to you well.

'I love you oppa'

'to be employed, to earn money, to become a rich person'

Let's be happy. I hope that this will be a year that your body and heart will be warm. It was very cold.

'Is there a concert next year?'

We have a tour in japan so if you can come to japan… How about coming to japan to watch our tour?

'Hope that GOT7 makes it big'

We are already being loved by the fans like this. How much more can we get bigger?

If you continue loving us just like you do now, there would be nothing as big as that.

'To know jinyoung better'

That's right. I am a man who's like an onion. There's much more you have to know about me.

Since we have read the comments, we also have questions we received before that.

I will answer them as I read it.

It's questions from the fans.

I am a bit nervous.

In 3 hours after they announced that they are receiving questions, it exceeded 1000 questions.

That is a very good sign.

Is this the jinyoung effect?

Feeling the fans' passionate love and concern, the new year is starting good.

Yes I will answer honestly.

Number 1. ID: iuliu6338-nim.

In the new year 2017, what is the goal you would like to achieve as GOT7's Jinyoung, as actor Park Jin Young and as just Park Jin Young. If there's a goal, what is it.

First as GOT7, I want to release an album. I want to release an album quickly as GOT7 to meet the fans soon.

As actor Park Jin Young, I am doing about 1 piece of work per year. This year too I just want to meet a good piece of work, good director, good scriptwriter.

Just a good piece of work. Whatever piece of work it might be.

I would like to communicate with the audience through meeting a character that would fit me just right like my clothing.

The goal I would like to achieve just as Park Jinyoung, I want to get my license.

I failed while driving on the road so my pride was damaged.

When I was driving on the road, the instructor at the side said my ability to handle was lacking.

And as a man I was very hurt to hear that my ability to perceive space is lacking.

Number 2. ID: life.jy.babybird.

On the 31st during Gayo Daejun, after the countdown the members formed a circle and huddled. What words of resolution did you say to each other?

Just "let's be healthy", "let's do even better", "let's not forget our rookie mindset", "let's treat the fans better".

Although it might seem like we've said something huge, it's the same.

Let's work hard this new year too.

Number 3. ID: seenjy-nim

You created lots of talk with your appearance as Lee Min Ho's child actor in the drama 'Legend of the Blue sea'

Were there any stories for its casting and audition? I am also curious about the scrip reading you had with all the big seniors.

First, it's something that I can say as time passes.

As soon as the offer to be the child actor came in, with a thankful heart I immediately grabbed it.

Cos I was afraid someone else would take the offer, so I said I would do it immediately. That I want to do it.

So I got to do it.

During the scrip reading, maybe it was because I am a newbie so I went first.

But because the scriptwriter and director were present so I went say hi, telling them I would work hard.

After that there was a script reading.

Listening to the script reading alone, I felt like I could learn a lot.

'Ah so the seniors act like this'

Actually while reading the script, I would decide on my own that I would act like this if it was me.

'Ah so the seniors read their lines like that. So they express it like this' and to that it was a time of learning for me.

It was huge.

Number 4. ID: Laymoni0618-nim

Seems like it's either the person's mobile number or birthday.

If your birthday is 18th June, then happy birthday to you.

You said you like books and movies, what movie roles or characters of the books would you like to challenge yourself with.

There are many.

Rather than sticking with one, I want to attempt acting as one of the historical figures.

If you look at the great men, they undergo tremendous anguish and experience huge obstacles, no matter whether it is a happy or sad ending.

If it is a piece of work where I can learn about the thinking of the people of the past and more, I am willing to try anything.

The thinkings from the past are really different from the present. The values too. So I really want to learn it.

Number 5. ID: joann.k-nim

What is the one thing that you think you are number 1 for in GOT7? For example, cuteness and confidence.

Cuteness? Not that cos our bambam is too cute.

For me, it's my calmness?

If you say it positively it's calmness. If you say it negatively, it's no will.

Cos I like just staying still. So quietly I just..Yup.

Calmness is my greatest merit.

Yes the last question.

This is really…. A difficult question.

ID: pepi. How do I read this? There's a line at the bottom. Under bar they call it.

Pepi_ qq-nim

Acrostic poem genius Park Jin Young! (laughs)

Please do a acrostic poen using (allure) al-lu-re.

Using allure. That is really difficult.

Yes if you call on the syllables first I'll do it.

(AL) I got picked as a face genius for the Allure photoshoot this time round. [t/n: face genius as in really handsome]

(LU) Do you think I am not a loser but a winner?

(ORE) orh…

I am sorry. I ruined the name Allure.

Since I've did what I need to, I should read the comments.

kkkkkk. Acrostic poem.

What is the meaning behind this kkkkk (ie laughing).

Does it mean you are looking down on me? or proud of me? or that it's cute?

Kim Hae Seon-ssi. Yeah. One word answer.

My heart hurts because of this one word reply.

JJJJ-nim. Face genius Park Jin Young.

The new year sure is warm.

Staff: What do you think of the this nickname

How do I feel? I am thankful though it does not make sense at all. It grows my confidence.

Jaebum-nim. 'Wah'. Did Jaebum hyung send this.

Maeumi-nim says I did well for the acrostic poem. Thank you for praising me.

Jinyoung speak thai.

Hi. Thank you.

Nice hair. That's right. I did a bit of a perm right now. About 4 days ago?

Staff: Why did you get it done?

Why I got it done was because I was thinking let's start anew in the new year.

I don't really do my hair and I don't really dye it too. Should I call it a rebellious heart towards myself?

By perming my hair, let's leave this complicated thinking to the hair.

The complicated thoughts in my head is transferred outwards to the complicated perm like that.

Showing it strongly to people. My hair is permed now. This kind of feeling?

Your hair is so cute. It's very cute isn't it.

It suits you. It totally makes my heart flutter.

I don't want to dye my hair.

Staff: Is there a special reason?

There's no special reason. I just hate dying my hair. Towards wearing something new….

Actually perming my hair is taking what I have and changing it. If I dye my hair, it's not mine but taking something else and putting it on me. This kinda feeling?

I am uncomfortable with that kind of feeling so…

Your face isn't swollen at all starting this morning. My prince.

My face was so swollen during the first half of the photoshoot.

The person doing my makeup was so surprised and went "who are you.."

So I told her I was jinyoung.

JJP 5th anniversary. Please comeback. I'll go over this.

A verse of an exciting song.

Though christmas has passed.

[Sings 'let it snow']

I worked during christmas. It was very depressing.

I was practicing. To practice for the year end stages I was in the practice room with the members on christmas.

Staff: Were there any episodes?

Episode.

Rather than episode I will let you know how I feel.

I had mixed feelings.

I really liked it and the feeling of year end passing…

Though it is also good to spend the year end busily, but I also thought once that it would be good if it could be spent (relaxing)

But I don't regret it. Because I got to meet the fans.

Happy new year.

Please receive a lot of new year's luck everyone.

Take is easy oppa. Don't be ill.

Taking it easy is a problem. We should be working harder.

If you have to dye your hair because of the concept of your activities?

That's ambiguous.

Now creative questions aren't coming. Because similar questions are coming up so the last question.

Nice jacket. The stylist would be very happy.

It's the last corner and it's called 2017 grabbing luck.

As a surprise event Allure has prepared 2017 grabbing luck.

For example like dol jab ie. [t/n: it's like a game they play during the child's 1st birthday to see the future prospects of the baby's life]

Actually I am also curious as to what's inside.

With the expectant heart that what I hope will come true in 2017 would come out, I will pick the lucky bag.

It's 'buk ju mo ni' but it was written as 'buk ju mo li'. The person beside me probably made a typo.

Today I am pink boy.

If you see the photoshoot you will know. Yes. If you see the photoshoot you will know.

Then you will have to buy the pictorial right?

From what you see I am a pink boy. There was pink in my shoes, jacket and shirts all have pink. Even my mike is pink.

Out of these two pinks which one should I choose? Between the lighter and darker pink.

This time GOT7…more intense (deeper) so that GOT7 can go through 2017 well. So I choose the dark pink lucky bag.

I think I picked it wrongly.

Is this a magnet?

There is an expression that comes with it.

Smile. Clicks.

Smile so that the year will become a happy one. So that the year will pass happily so they gave us a smile.

Somewhat.

Looking like me it's kinda a big mistake(?)...It looks like me.

And while doing the interview today, while doing the magazine interview I received a present.

It's a new year gift. They gave me about 10 books in a box.

I think it was an A4 box. I think they are giving it to me because of recycling.

But it was a very good present.

In the new year with such good content, this live, the good presents in the form of books and being able to be part of allure pictorial.

I have a feeling that the start of the new year will be spectacular.

Everyone if you haven't started on the new year yet, I hope it is a happy year for you together with the luck that's about to start.

You have to be healthy. Heard the cold virus is quite serious recently

Be careful. Be healthy. So that the things you do will go well.

Actually things that don't go well, though I have not experienced it, the adults say that 'that's life'.

Even if you fall you can stand up again.

Everyone this year even if you fall down. Hope that it becomes a year where you not have the strength to do well but more of the strength to stand up again.

Allure February issue that i am appearing in. That Jinyoung-ie is appearing in. While watching it, please purchase it.

I am coming out on it so buying more would be good too.

We are giving two signed CDs to two of the audience watching this live today.

I don't know the method but those two people that are winning it I am envious cos you are receiving my signature.

I am also thankful and congratulations.

The two will probably look at it for a long time and not use it.

Because it's an extremely difficult luck to get.

Filling it with luck, I will give it to you. Since you've used all your luck.

I will fill it with luck and give it to you.

There are 8k comments. 1 person probably wrote 1k comment each and 8 people wrote it altogether.

Staff: There are 1.5k viewers.

1.5K? 1.5k at one go? That's very dangerous.

Everyone. To those who are not watching now and those watching now, I hope you receive lots of new year's luck.

I will go off now.

Like this smiley face I hope your year will be filled with things that would make you smile like that.

Thank you.

Clap!

Surprise Shaker Card - Duration: 11:13.

Hi, it's Rebecca Ednie from eclecticendeavors.blogspot.com.

Today we're going to be making a Surprise Shaker Card.

To start with, you're going to need some acetate, a piece of white cardstock cut into a card

base, and 2 separate pieces 4.25" x 5.5", your MISTI tool, some thin double-sided adhesive,

3 dies in a nesting set, either squares or rectangles, stamps, inks, a die for a little

tab, Cropadile, and a die cutting machine.

Now we're going to get to stamping.

We're going to need to stamp the card front and also your two other panels.

That was the card base.

This is the other panel.

You'll need one more.

I actually didn't show it.

Now I'm stamping the second layer on both pieces and again you do need to do the third

layer, I just didn't bother to show it.

Here are the dies.

You're going to use 3 in a row of the nesting dies.

Now you need the largest and smallest, and you're going to tape them together so they

make a frame and die cut that centered from one of your panels, not from the card front.

It's going to look like that because of the magic of television.

You're also going to use the 2 frame dies and cut a piece of fun foam which I did ahead

of time.

Set that aside for now.

Now you need the largest die only.

Cut that from acetate, which I also did ahead of time.

Put all that away to keep it out of my space while I'm working.

This is the medium die.

This one we're going to do some partial die cutting with so you're going to cut it centered,

but do not cut all the way through the top piece.

You're going to see when I roll this through my Cuttlebug that I have the die outside the

cutting plate so that part will not cut.

If you have a die that actually works for this size, you can use that.

I'll put the measurements on screen.

Now you want to trim away the excess from the part you've already cut.

That's going to help you line up the die.

In my case I'm using a stitched die and I want to line up the stitching.

Now you're going to move your die as far to the top as you can.

I've lined up the stitching so I don't get one giant stitch in one place because it's

too close together.

Now I'm only going to cut the top part, not the bottom.

See how the bottom is sticking out?

That's partial die cutting.

This is going to give me a longer panel than I would have had otherwise, just using that

die the way it is.

Now we're going to do some stamping on the panel we just cut.

I started out with the sentiment and now I"m adding lots of little stars in pastel colors.

It takes a little while to do this so I sped it up for you.

I'm sure you can figure out how to stamp some little stars if you're making the same card

as I am.

I used Altenew inks, basically the softest one in each set.

I'll list them at the end.

Now we're back with the card base.

This frame is going to become the shaker window.

I want to know approximately where I need to stamp so I don't stamp things too far out

and I can balance them nicely within the space that I have.

This is going to be hidden at the end so keep that in mind.

Your frame is going to cover up the stamping on the outside, so the outside edges don't

have to be perfect.

You don't want them to go over onto the outside edges as well, beyond the frame.

I'm going to start with some balloons, again I sped this up because we all know how to

stamp.

I used the same colors as I used for the little stars on the front.

Some of these needed to be stamped twice which is why I'm using my MISTI.

Sometimes with a solid stamp like this it really helps to be able to stamp it twice

if you don't get perfect ink coverage.

That one seemed to be ok.

Just a couple of them needed to be stamped again.

That is one.

Just arrange the balloons wherever you'd like them to be.

If you were changing this to say "it's a girl" or "it's a boy" you could have balloons all

appropriately colored for a boy or girl.

You want to put your sentiment down at the bottom ... you don't have to do that, but

I wanted to do that so when the shaker goodies are inside the shaker part they're going to

cover that up and the person has to shake it to see what it says.

I think that's even more of a fun surprise than just removing the front panel.

Now I'm masking off some areas I don't want to have the balloon strings touching.

I actually made this card once to try it out and got balloon strings past the edges, so

I'm sure someone would wonder what on earth are these strange lines on the outside of

the frame... so that's why I'm warning you to make sure you mask things off.

Just keep adding balloon strings here.

Sometimes I didn't get my masking quite in the right place.

It's a little fiddly, this.

:) So just stamp this inner portion however you like.

Again, try not to go beyond where the frame is going to go.

Now we're back to the secret panel in the front.

I'm going to add a little tab to the top of that so it can be pulled out.

If you wanted to work from a bigger piece of paper and have that piece be longer you

could.

I just thought it worked out well this way.

Now we're going to put everything together.

We've got our outside frame, and we're going to put adhesive on that.

You absolutely need this skinny double-sided tape - I'm using 1/8" score tape - to be toward

the outer edges.

Our panel is going to slide up and down in there and if we put too much adhesive on,

it's not going to work.

With the acetate and the foam I had stitching dies to help guide me but I trimmed just a

little bit off.

For some reason when I made this card before, the little bit of the plastic showed and I

didn't really like the way it was shiny against the matte of the rest.

I do the same with the fun foam because for some reason it seems to stretch and stick

out beyond the edges of the frame, and I don't like that look.

So rather than trim it later I trim it now.

The stitching edges on the dies make it very easy.

I'm peeling off the adhesive so I can put my acetate on.

Notice I only put adhesive on 3 sides.

That's really important.

You absolutely have to leave the top edge open.

or the whole system isn't going to work.

With the piece of foam, it's kind of wide so I put some tape on the outside of it but

mostly you need tape on the inner edge to seal in your shaker contents and just a little

bit of adhesive here and there to keep it from flapping around as it is fairly wide.

I'm going to do that on both sides.

Some little pieces on the outer edge, and full coverage on the inside edge.

I have to tell you guys, I just caught my little 5 year old saying a bad word.

When I asked him what he'd said and he told me, it was all I could do to keep from busting

up laughing because he said it so funny.

I won't tell you what the word is because I don't say that word.

My middle son probably taught it to him.

This part's really boring but unfortunately adhesive has to go on and adhesive paper bits

have to be picked off.

It's very thrilling.

If you have a faster way to do it, please tell me, I'd love to know.

I don't think there is one though.

Liquid glue is a little faster but then it can ooze out into your shaker area and make

all your sequins stick and leave blubs on your acetate so that's not good either.

I was going to put that down but then I realized I actually prefer to do it flipped over.

Align that up, and because we trimmed the outside edges you shouldn't have to worry

about them, just line up the middle.

I like to be very precise even when I'm not doing a video.

I can't seem to just chuck stuff together.

There were some eraser bits stuck to the acetate.

I'll take care of that later.

Pack all your sequins in there - I already had a nice little mix of pastels and white,

a few beads thrown in, a few stars, and hearts.

More picking off adhesive.

Center that, making sure your stamping lines up.

We're almost done!

Lift up - there should be a gap now between your paper and your acetate.

Slide that in.

It is a little stiff the first couple of times going in and you do have to pull up that little

bottom piece to get it in there, but it should line up perfectly because of the way we die

cut it.

There we are - ta dah!

I put a little piece of ribbon on the tab.

Notice the shaker contents go to the bottom, covering up the sentiment.

Thanks for watching - I hope you really like this card and you'll subscribe to my Youtube

channel and come by my blog.

Thanks!

How LABC provides a strategic and modernised building control service to the construction industry - Duration: 4:02.

It comes through from there and then

from next door so they all come into that

chamber.

Surveyors from a local authority

building control team inspect the

foundations of a new housing estate

in Cambridgeshire. It's their job to ensure that

set standards are met, for example in

structural integrity, fire safety and

energy efficiency. And through early

partnership with developers and

contractors they aim to add value and

bring certainty to all stages of the

design and build process. We are in the

business of building relationships with

our customers and it is our objective

that we can facilitate the early

resolution of any design and

construction challenges before they

manifest themselves on site. And in that

way we hope to minimise the policing

role of building control and emphasise

its ability to facilitate earlier and

timely and efficient delivery of

construction projects and programs.

Building control is the only regulated

service which is in competition with the

private sector but after more than 30

years of competition local authorities

still receive two thirds of building

control applications. Everything from

loft conversions and small house

extensions to big landmark schemes like

the Shard and some of the Olympic

buildings in London. And as it's local,

knowledge of site history and ground

conditions is often invaluable in

specifying excavations and foundations.

Local authority building control is

fantastic for us. They know the area well,

they knew previous schemes so they can

tell us about any issues - historical,

flooding issues, drainage issues

and also they have forged very good

relationships with other

regulatory bodies that we need to gain

sign-off from. They're not seen as a process

that needs to be followed - they're seen

more as a team member all the way

through and we help solve problems together

as they come up. And representing

local authority building control

nationally across England

and Wales is LABC. It provides one voice on

technical matters to both government and

industry and runs schemes to support

contractors and developers to partner

successfully with local authorities for

multi-site developments in different

locations. I do think it's got an

important role to play in facilitating

the conversations between different

individual services, in providing advice

to officers on the ground and indeed

managers of those services, but also in

creating the glue that is a consistent

quality and operational standard. And

through things like the partnership

scheme and fostering that inter-

organisational working for the benefit

of national or international contractors.

And to help cope with the reality of

local government financial constraints

LABC also encourages new models of

collaboration, like here in Cambridge

where the city works with two local

district councils to provide a single

more flexible and resilient building

control service. The local authority

building control sector is in a

competitive marketplace.

We're trying to modernise the services

and the offer that we can provide, we're

thinking about how we can adapt to our

different clients' needs and

we aim to be outcome-focused. What

we're trying to do here in Cambridge and

what we're trying to do in assisting our

communities is very much

underpinned by that ethos. The

construction industry employs one in ten

people in the UK and is important to all

local economies. And local authority

building control plays a crucial role in

creating excellent buildings which are

fit for purpose and a safe environment

we all want and can enjoy. It's a service

that deserves our support.

and we could share : a hot-dog time !

Here is my hot-dog,

I mean : my dog

And if you try to hurt him.

Well

Actually

He doesn't need my help

my dog is kinda like a warrior

And if it's not enough

I have something up my sleeves...

TIGER

Oops, sorry

The one I know doesn't need to bite

He's a very good friend of mine so

when I say

I know Kung-Fu

he replies he knows Tai Chi

Better not to argue with him

Too sad he's not here

When I feel alone

I'm used to jump in my boat and...

oh... wait. Wrong movie.

Don't know why I say that

Nevermind

So I jump in my car

and go for a ride

Yeah !

It's about time to get a car inspection

Either way I like to drive not knowing

what I'm gonna find

I see Life as a mistery

because who can say ??

Who can say where the road goz ??

Where the day flozz ??!!

Only time.

And when it suddenly night,

take it as a piece of advice

that I wanna share with you

When it's night

and you're all by yourself at home :

if some hot ladies

happen to kno--knock on your door

Please, you might want to

reconsider opening it

That became my favorite motto recently

It makes me avoid

a lot of problems

And guess what,

it reminds me of something about

dodging bullets

Why ?

Well maybe it's because I'm Keanu Reeves

And I know how to...

Sorry

IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT GENETICALLY ENGINEERED FOODS YOU'LL NEVER HEAR FROM MAINSTREAM MEDIA - Duration: 8:46.

The No.1 Thing You Need to Become Fluent in English This Year (And Why Most Fail) - Duration: 10:31.

Hey! This is Jack from tofluency.com and

I bloody love this time of year. It's

early January and by this time a lot of

you have thought about what you want to

achieve this year - now, we can call this a

new year's resolution and this is when

you decide to do something or to stop doing

something. For a lot of you who are here on

this channel this one thing is to learn

English. You're here because you want to

reach a high level of English and I can

see the excitement in the comments at

the moment. People seem really fired up

about reaching a high level of English

and making 2017 the year of fluency. I'm

no different.

I love setting goals and thinking about what

I want to achieve over the next 12

months and, in fact, I actually have a few

goals that I have set myself this year.

This is something I do every year and I

have a pretty good track record of

hitting these goals. Before I share these

goals I've got some bad news for you

because it's estimated that only eight

percent of people who set goals actually

achieve them.

That means over ninety percent of people

don't achieve the goals that they set

out at the beginning of the year. From

experience, you'll know this is true. Maybe

you have done this as well. But it's very

common for someone to say okay I'm going

to give up smoking;

I'm going to drink less; I'm

going to start learning English; I'm going to

get fit and healthy and then by February.

they have given up.

They've lost that initial excitement

have they've lost that initial motivation to do

what they set out to do.

The good news is that there are certain

things you can do to ensure that you

give yourself the best chance possible

of achieving the goals that you set out

for the year so i'll talk about that

soon but first here are my goals 2017...

Firstly, I want to grow this YouTube

channel to 200,000 subscribers. Now on

January the 1st, I had about 21,500

subscribers so this is a big goal. I want

to take this channel to the next level.

This is a goal that I'm most excited

about. This is my number one priority for

the year and it's going to take a lot of

work, it's going to take me making videos,

working hard, promoting the channel...

interacting with you that people who

watch it. I'm really excited about this

goal and I'm sure I'm going to do

everything possible to achieve it.

Another goal I have is to get in the

best shape of my life. So, in 2016, I put

on some weight and I didn't feel very

healthy. But this year, I'm really going

to commit to it and it's my number two

priority. Now, most people say: make health

your number one priority, you know, after

family and friends make health your

number one priority but I'm just being

honest with myself, it's not. My number one

priority is this business and my health

and fitness will come second but that

doesn't mean that I'm going to be

unhealthy,

in fact, i know that I can balance the

two to ensure that they both go together

but when it comes down to it, let's say,

on a Friday afternoon I have the choice

to make a video or go to the gym, I'll

probably make that video. My third goal

is to learn French to an intermediate

level. Now, I already have semi-decent

pronunciation because I took a

pronunciation course. I also have a

little bit of knowledge of French as

well from my time at school but that was

a long time ago and in most schools, you

know that language learning isn't really

done properly.

There's no emphasis on speaking.. it's

very difficult to make progress, so I

know very little French but I plan to

become an intermediate speaker. What's

interesting with this goal is that it's

not my number one or number two priority

it's the third priority on my list of

goals. So, I'm going to take this slowly.

I'm not in a big rush to get fluent

straightaway and that's important to

know as well: when you're planning out

these goals, think about your priorities,

in fact, that is the key of all of this.

In order for you to achieve your goal

let's

say learning English to a C1 level - check

the description to see how you can

evaluate yourself - but let's just say

it's to learn English to a C1 level,

you really need to be fired up about it.

You need to be excited about it.

You need to really just be obsessed with

achieving this - not obsessed in a bad way

but that obsession actually drives you

forward to achieve something special. And

reaching a high level of English is so

special.

Not many people do it. Many people give

up because it's a long journey. But that

doesn't mean it has to be a horrible

journey. You can make this fun, you can

make this exciting and that's why I want

you to do... if your goal for this year is

to reach a high level of English - that C1

level of English - I want you to make it a

priority and I want you to enjoy it as

much as possible. Because for me, I can't

tell you how excited it makes me feel

about trying to reach 200,000

subscribers here on YouTube.

I'm so fired up - I'm so ignited with

passion about it, I just can't wait to

reach that goal. But I'm going to enjoy

the journey along the way too. What makes

this goal exciting for me and if it's

for you reaching a high level from an

intermediate level, is that it's a little

bit scary when you think about it, you

know, it's quite scary for me to sit here

and say: okay, I want to reach 200,000

subscribers. It would be a lot easier to

say 60,000 or 80,000 or even a hundred

thousand but by saying 200,000

subscribers, it makes me feel a little

bit uncomfortable. I know that I'm going

to have to make changes - I know i'm going

to have to become a different person in

a way in order to reach this goal. But

because this goal is scary and because

it's such a big goal

it makes me excited about it and that's

again the key

it's about getting fired up about this

goal and when something is a little bit

out of your reach

if something is out of your comfort zone

then you can use that energy and get

excited and get fired up.

So, when it comes to learn English, choose

the goal for this year that gets you out

of your comfort zone. Choose a goal that

is going to help you really

really push on because if you just go

ahead on autopilot doing what you're

doing now then you won't make that big

jump.

Now, if it's not a priority for you, it's

not a priority. And you can keep

progressing at the same rate. But if you

want to speak English with confidence

this year; if you want to be able to

understand TV shows and movies and have

conversations with people; then reach

higher, choose a goal that scares you;

choose a goal that really gets you

excited about putting the work in. At this

stage, I need to tell you that if you

haven't got my book already

go download it now. It's "The 5-step Plan

for English Fuency" and it talks about

this five-step progress (preocess) to help you go

from intermediate to advanced or from

advanced to proficient, so, go check out

the description, click the link and

download this book for free. But before

you go, I have some extra tips for you

tips that will help you stick with your

goals for the entire year.

The first one is this: after you have

your goal, research exactly what you need

to do in order to attain this goal and

then create an action plan that is specific

to you. This is what most people miss out,

you know, most people say: okay, I need to

do the Sentence method; I need to repeat

after native speakers; I need to have

conversations with proficient or native

speakers, but they can't do this because

they don't have the schedule to do it;

they don't have the resources to do it.

So, it's really important that after you

know what you need to do, create a

routine based on your schedule not

someone elses not this imaginary

schedule but based on your real-life

situation and then slot English into

this. Going back to priorities,

maybe you need to stop doing something

in order to start doing more English. So,

again, look at your schedule and say: okay,

is this important? Am I spending my time

wisely? If not, do a little bit more

English instead. It's also important to

have that belief that you can do this.

Look at the people who have achieved

this level and get

inspiration from them. This year, I'm going

to invite people onto my channel - those

people who have learned English in a

quick amount of time and I'm going to

interview them. So, that you can see that

this is possible. And if this is you, then

send me an email -

there is a link in the description. And

finally, again, this is so important: make

the journey as enjoyable as possible.

You need to enjoy this process of

learning English. A lot of people do what

they think they have to do instead of

what they want to do.

I've made many videos on things like how

to choose the best book for you and that

just means finding books that are

interesting. There are no books that you

have to read to learn english, only books

that you enjoy reading. So, go onto Amazon,

start reading the books, check them out

see if you're going to enjoy them, and

then choose the ones that you know you

won't be able to put down. One last tip -

is this: focus on the most effective

methods. So, it's ok saying: I'm going to

study 20 hours a week. But it's what you

do with your time as well. And I have a

great method for you called the Sentence

Method. There will be a link in the

description and this just shows you a

great way that you can spend 15 minutes

a day internalizing grammar and learning

new words and phrases, so please check

that out. There's a lot of advice there. I

hope you have found this useful. Again

check out the description - there will be

a summary for you. If you enjoyed this

video, give it a thumbs up. Thank you for

watching - if you're new

subscribe and if you really enjoyed it

then please share it.

Okay, thank you very much - see you guys in

the next lesson!

Estate Planning Attorney Marietta | Marietta Tax Attorney | Brian D. Smith | MIJS - Duration: 2:58.

Benjamin Franklin once said, "By failing to plan, you're planning to fail."

Hi, I'm Brian Smith, a partner in the trust and estates practice at Moore Ingram Johnson

and Steele.

I started at the firm in 1996 as a summer associate.

I came back full-time in 1997 and I've been here ever since.

I can't imagine working anywhere else.

In my practice, I cover will preparation, estate and gift tax planning, estate administration,

probate litigation and guardianships and conservatorships for incapacitated adults and children.

A trust and estates practice is unique, because with the exception of a state litigation,

there's usually not an adverse party.

In the planning process, I help families plan and implement techniques to efficiently and

responsively transfer wealth during life or in death.

In the administration process, I typically find myself meeting with families at a very

difficult time.

My role in that process is to be a calming voice and help guide them through the dark

times that they're experiencing.

At Moore Ingram Johnson and Steele, I'm able to help a very broad cross-section of society,

while I enjoy working with high net worth clients and helping them solve federal estate

and gift tax problems, I also enjoy tackling the real world problems that every family

encounters.

By not limiting my practice to one specific demographic, I'm able to help a broad cross-section

of society and I find that very rewarding.

This is not something that's limited to my practice but something that can be found throughout

our firm.

When John Moore started our firm back in the 1980s, it was his vision to bring downtown

legal expertise to the suburbs.

Whether it's estate planning, corporate litigation or real estate, we're not only available to

help clients of all shapes or sizes but we're able to provide them with the specialized

and expert legal expertise that they would find at a big downtown firm.

A large part of my practice involves education.

I know that I'm not always going to be there to walk my clients through every situation

that arises.

So I spend a great deal of time educating my clients on the ins and outs of their planning.

I make sure that the client understands and appreciates the importance of each and every

paragraph in their documents and understands how future decisions or events may affect

their planning.

I also spend a lot of time educating civic groups and other organizations on a estate

planning related topics.

While these events can be a great way to generate new business, it's the satisfying feeling

I get when someone says, "Thank you.

I really learned a lot today," that keeps me going.

Having two teenage sons, I often find that their passions become my passions.

So if I'm not in the office, you can usually find me in a sports arena, concert hall or

a school theater.

At Moore Ingram Johnson and Steele, we believe in relationships.

I'd like to develop a relationship with all of my clients.

If I can ever be of service to you, please feel free to call.
