Republicans Return From Vacation To Problems They Can't Possibly Handle - Duration: 3:55.

Most Americans today are probably feeling a little sluggish getting back to work after

a three-day weekend but just imagine how it would feel getting back to work after a month-long

weekend because that is what's happening right now with the House of Representatives and

the U.S. Senate.

Today is their first day back at work following their month-long August recess where some

of them just completely disappeared from the limelight altogether.

Some of them held Town Halls.

Some of them went and helped with Hurricane Harvey but everybody's back at work today

and they have a hell of an agenda that there is no possible way they can actually tackle.

Here's a few of the things that the Republican-led House of Representatives and the Senate have

to deal with now that they are back in washington, D.C.

first and foremost one of the most important things is they have to get Hurricane Harvey

relief packages passed and while you're at it, you may as well go ahead and throw in

some relief packages for Hurricane Irma which is right around the corner headed towards

Florida at the moment.

Furthermore, you've got to get some kind of budget passed so that we avoid a government

shutdown.

A government shutdown at this point, which unfortunately is looming because there doesn't

seem to be any kind of clear reconciliation in the budget in the House of Representatives,

could cost the U.S. economy hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars depending on how

long such shutdown actually lasts.

So we're looking at catastrophic economic impacts if these Republicans can't get their

act together and pass a budget.

Trump himself has said he will not sign a budget if it does not include funding for

the border wall.

So, so far, the Republican's plan has been to cut money from agencies like FEMA who's

currently working overtime in Texas and will be doing the same thing probably in Florida

or wherever else Hurricane Irma hits.

They want to cut half a billion dollars from that and give it to Donald Trump for his wall.

Congress can't do this, especially not at this point, and furthermore the Republicans

have proven time and time again so far this year, that they can't even work with one another

to get anything passed.

Want an example?

How about the health care bill that had to go through constant revisions because different

factions within the Republican party were fighting with one another over who could make

the bill more cruel.

The bottom line is this.

The Republicans in D.C. right now have a hell of a lot of work to do just to keep this country

going, not even trying to enact their Republican agenda but just to keep things functioning.

I do not trust them.

Polls show the public does not trust them enough to actually get their jobs done.

Because beyond all the partisan fighting in this country, there are some times when Congress

has really non-partisan, normal everyday keep-the-government functioning work that they have to do.

So far the Republicans have been so poor at leadership that they can't even accomplish

that.

We're headed towards a government shutdown.

It does not look like the Republicans are going to do anything to prevent that because

they can't work with one another and they can't work with their sociopathic president.

But that's where we're at today, folks.

I hope the Republicans got a lot of rest on their August recess because they're going

to have to put in a lot long hours if they want to keep this country moving long enough

so that we can continue functioning as a society, as an economy and as a democracy.

Alright, first let's learn some stats on this piece of bitch pistol.

The accuracy on the Five Seven more accurate than the average Gold Nova's M4 spray, making

this weapon super effective at that rank because everyone at that rank sucks at spraying….and

every other rank too….

The recoil on it goes up after the first few shots, which explains why all the shit people

kill you with this gun wildly spraying, because they're aiming for your chest, and once

that recoil kicks in they get a perfect headshot on you every time.

The pistol holds 20 rounds of butt-clenching high damage, easy ELO rank up bullets, which

can rival the damage of an M4 because I shit you not, this thing actually shoots miniature

rifle rounds!

The five seven has the damage of an AK 47, while being small enough to fit in your pocket

because fuck logic.

This thing is stronger than an M4.

Yo fuck rifles, this is counter strike.

Pistols are where it's at baby!

Now let's move on to some background history of the weapon:

The Five Seven was the go-to gun for CT-side ecos for years.

Recently though, it was nerfed, which is why I've remade this guide.

It's spraying accuracy was greatly increased, but it's running accuracy was decreased.

"Wait", you ask, "Doesn't that mean they pretty much cancel each other out?"

Yes…..

That being said, it does favor higher skilled players that stand still to shoot, rather

than running and gunning.

So instead of running headshotting you across the map, they can now only running headshot

you from the length of B-tunnels......so you still die either way

accidentally murdered what is it I mean it's like it's it's like a drop like a

teen drama but you could probably easily see on TV but it's pretty crazy

I wonder where there's not like this show like a hazards show that kind of

follows these feats which maybe there should be because seems very very

perfect for today's like you know teen drama shows that come on let's see w and

stuff like that but okay so for this song they wrote the the Thea

suicide note and Heather's in the music video did not even really seem to be

affected by the fact that they kind of accidentally killed her she was more so

like on how they make her the idea of her scene when people read this letter

which shows the vanity of that character where she's just she's not like oh my

goodness you killed me I'm dead now it's worth so this letter you wrote about my

suicide it makes me look like a straight-up dumb blood like nobody's

gonna believe this this is not a great letter that's what she was focused on so

really shows the vanity of a character when all they care about is not the fact

that you had killed me it's like how do you make me sound to the people that

read this letter and then when what Veronica says the teacher really blasts

up which people I found are always weird to me because it's one thing to want

people to express how they feel but when you get like excited and like revved up

about it where you're like hey we're gonna do this and this is what we're

gonna do I kind of feel less likely to open up

because I feel like there's something else going on there with you something

else is happening and that teacher that's a multiple nowhere and everybody

it kind of was this like aha moment for everybody was like oh she wasn't a bad

person it was just that life was just so hard for her for being as popular as she

was so that's why she was mean she wasn't really mean because she was a

mean horrible person that's pain no it's because she cares that's why she was

mean and Heather liked it and loved the fact that she looked so good but she's

dead people so confusing but yes let me know your thoughts down below in the

PSA Testing for Prostate Cancer Just Got a Boost - Duration: 3:58.

When we talk about screening tests, we almost always end up at the same place.

Are the lives saved from screening worth the suffering of false-positive diagnoses and

unnecessary testing?

But for PSA screening for prostate cancer, the debate never got that far.

That's because the largest US randomized trial of prostate cancer screening, called

the PLCO trial, showed no benefit of screening in terms of prostate-cancer mortality.

Note the overlapping lines here.

No need for debate – it just didn't work.

Largely due to this trial, in 2011 the United States Preventative Services Task Force recommended

against routine screening for prostate cancer by the PSA test, giving the practice a "D"

rating.

But there was another large trial of PSA screening for prostate cancer conducted in Europe, and

that one actually did show a beneficial effect of screening on prostate cancer mortality.

Why the different results?

Well, the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial (PLCO) was

done in the US and the European Randomized Study of Screening for Prostate Cancer (ERSPC)

was done in Europe.

The PSA cutoff and frequency of screening was higher in the US study.

But they differed in one way that isn't readily apparent from this table.

In the US, during the PLCO trial, individuals in the "no screening" arm were getting screened

anyway as part of their usual care.

In fact, some estimates suggest as many as 90% of the individuals in the no-screening

arm had at least one PSA test during the trial.

Maybe it's not the differences between Europe and the US that led to these disparate results

– maybe it's because the intensity of screening was so much higher in the control group in

the US study.

Enter Ruth Etzioni and her team from the Fred Hutchison Cancer Center with this article,

appearing in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

They wanted to square the results of the US and European trials.

And they found that by accounting for that extra screening in the control arm of the

US trial, they could.

The implication?

PSA screening for prostate cancer avoids prostate cancer deaths.

Now, notice I didn't say "saves lives".

Because neither study showed an effect of screening on overall mortality.

I asked Dr. Etzioni about that.

She pointed out that only 2-3% of men will die from prostate cancer, so moving the needle

on overall mortality is going to be really difficult:

Dr. Ruth Etzioni: "So there is a divided camp on this, there are people who feel that

if the intervention doesn't change or cause mortality significantly then it's not worthwhile.

But there are many causes of death, and if we have interventions that move each cause

of death by 20-30% then when taken together they will make a difference."

Does this data support broadening PSA screening?

To me, this paper convincingly shows that PSA testing is better than a policy of zero

PSA testing.

But that's not current policy.

The paper also shows that a policy of universal PSA testing is really no better than our current

slapdash approach.

Putting it together, it seems clear that there is a group of people for whom PSA testing

makes sense – but it's definitely not everyone.

Dr. Etzioni agreed: "I don't think that we should be recommending

against screening, but we do have to have our eyes wide open about the fact that screening

is somewhat of a broad brush approach...

And so there is no one-size-fits-all and I think what I would like to do is to instead

of seeing a policy, I would like us all to reach a consensus on the key pieces of information

that we agree on that all men should know."

The most important piece of information?

The individual risk of false-positive diagnoses and unnecessary procedures.

In other words, we now have to have the debate about PSA screening that we have had with

every other screening test.

I wonder what's coming next it's not crack lacking so I don't know I real I

don't know what to expect we're really far in the game and I'm just gonna keep

going forward and see there's a ladder

Let's Talk CW: Is Orsis Still Effective? (Contract Wars) - Duration: 8:14.

So recently I saw this Facebook poll in the CWs group

Asking if sniping in Contract Wars was still effective

Which reminded me of a discussion I had with Tarjei, better known as DeNeRlX I guess

About basically the same subject and

As a response to that I actually made a Facebook poll myself asking if you guys want a video on what I think of sniping in CW right now

And that's basically this, I don't really have a plan on how I'm going to do this video

I have a 6 sentence script infront of me

And I'll try to fill up the time with just that

So starting off I guess with this entire commosion on why wouldn't it still be effective, what changed?

The main, or basically the only reason, is that the Orsis got customization

And I think it's pretty well-known that the Orsis is basically the most popular sniper rifle in CW

And I think the only sniper rifle that can really match its performance in high levels would be the VSSK Viklhop

But since it's 20 SP, basically nobody gets it

So first of all, leave your own opinion on whether you think sniping is still effective in CW in the comment section

I'll kind a review and see what all of you think

But for me, I'm going to give my own opinion now and then develop it further on

And give some facts about what actually changed

So, what changed about the Orsis with customization and the entire balancing to it?

The bolt action became slower, so it has a longer time between taking shots

It takes a longer time to scope in

And the mobility decreased, that's kind a hard to explain

The base statistics of the gun, didn't actually change

But because it now has customization, the scope that was already on the Orsis originally

Now actually decreases its mobility

I don't really know if you know what I mean, but if a gun gets customization the mods that are on it start affecting the statistics

But if a gun does not have customization, the mods that are on it by default don't change the statistics

If you don't get what I mean, all you have to know basically is that the Orsis with the same mods now has -8 mobility

With the default mods

So what do I actually think of this entire balancing?

I think I have quite a different opinion to most people I spoke to about this

I think this is the best weapon balancing CW has ever done

So while all of you basically are complaining it has gotten ruined, I think it's the best thing ever

Because, if you look at previously overpowered guns, and yes I'd consider the old Orsis overpowered,

Because it was way too good at basically everything and way too fast for a sniper

The SR3M for example was really overpowered too, and they basically balanced it and nerfed it into oblivion

I personally think they completely ruined it while it was my favourite gun

But with the Orsis it's different

The main question I guess is, is it still effective?

I guess it's pretty obvious it became less effective

Because when you nerf a gun's statistics badly, it will basically always become less effective than it already was

But, I do not think it became ineffective

And I think, what most of you don't have, if you play the proper playstyle for a sniper, it became more effective

So I'm gonna go into that further so you can actually understand what I mean

If you look at the actual complaints that I personally saw,

Was that because of the time between shots, it became harder to make multi-kills

The first thing I think is why are you trying to make multi-kills with a sniper, that's not really what it's meant for

Same goes for time to scope in

This is not Call of Duty, you're not supposed to quick-scope at your enemies

And slower mobility, I think that a sniper is supposed to position himself well and for long distances, you could just take out your pistol

If you noticed the "subtle" cut, it's because I just ruined something, but let's just ignore that

How are you actually supposed to play a sniper, and why does in my opinion this actually become a really good thing?

Why do I think this is the best balancing CW has ever done

As I already said, like with overpowered guns before like SR3M they basically ruined it

The Noveske was really good and now a lot less

But with the Orsis I actually think they did something really nice

Because they punished things, the bolt action, the time-to-scope and the mobility, I can't count

That actually shouldn't make a difference, if you're using the gun right

But the thing is, most of you that are complaining in my opinion aren't using the gun right

Because I see all these people that are way too aggressive with it and simply aren't using the sniper right

But, the customization actually adds one thing, that in my opinion is very important to properly playing a sniper

And that's basically a silencer

Because in my opinion, the way you're supposed to use the Orsis

And the way this update actually doesn't matter much or even makes it more effective

Is that you're basically a lone wolf around the map and you play from a really long distance

So the enemy can't really hit you

And you're supposed to pick off individuals

Basically be a nuisance to the enemy team

And not actually easy to kill or find

So what customization adds, is silencers

Which makes this amazing, because if you told me 2 years ago

That there was going to be an update that the Orsis would actually get a silencer

It would basically cover the only weakness it had

But, the thing is, most of you are playing just way too aggressive with the Orsis

You have to keep the distance, you have to keep picking off enemies at long range

And yes, that is a pretty boring style to play

And it's way slower, but the multi-kills, you shouldn't be getting them

You shouldn't play like that. That's why everybody keeps complaining that the Orsis became less effective

Because everybody's playing way too aggressive, the speed shouldn't matter

You're supposed to pick off enemies at long range, that's it

So yes it became slower, but no, it didn't become ineffective

And yes, it became less effective at how you played it

But no, it didn't become less effective at what the Orsis is actually good for

This update nerfed the Orsis on areas that you shouldn't be using it for

Which is a quick-scope gun, a multi-kill gun

And actually complimented its actual use

By adding the silencer and basically making you much stealthier around the map

And the whole thing like you can choose your own sight now if you really didn't like the previous scope

That's a simple bonus I guess

So, this is a pretty amateuristic video, I didn't really have much preparation

But that's basically my opinion on the new Orsis, it's the best weapon balancing CW has ever done

And it's far from ineffective

So ye, that's kind of the end of the video, isn't it?

Supermassive Black Holes or Their Galaxies? Which Came First? - Duration: 11:07.

there's a supermassive black hole at the center of almost every galaxy in the

universe how did they get there what's the relationship between these monster

black holes and the galaxies that surround them every time astronomers

look further out in the universe they discover new mysteries these mysteries

require all new tools and techniques to understand these mysteries lead to more

mysteries what I'm saying is that it's mystery Turtles all the way down and one

of the most fascinating is the discovery of quasars understanding what they are

and the unveiling of an even deeper mystery where do they come from now as

always I'm getting ahead of myself so let's go back and talk about the

discovery of quasars back in the 1950s astronomers scanned the skies using

radio telescopes and found a class of bizarre objects in the distant universe

they were very bright an incredibly far away hundreds of millions or even

billions of light-years away the first ones were discovered in the radio

spectrum but over time astronomers found even more blazing in the visible

spectrum the astronomer Hanyu Chu coined the term quasar which stood for quasi

stellar objects they were like stars shining from a single point source but

they clearly weren't stars blazing with more radiation than an entire galaxy

over the decades astronomers puzzled out the nature of quasars learning that they

were actually black holes actively feeding and blasting out radiation

visible billions of light years away but they weren't the stellar-mass black

holes which were known to be from the death of giant stars

these were supermassive black holes with millions or even billions of times the

mass of the Sun as far back in the 1970s astronomers considered the possibility

that there might be these supermassive black holes at the heart of many other

galaxies even the Milky Way and in 1974 astronomers discovered a radio source at

the center of the Milky Way emitting radiation and it was titled Sagittarius

a star with an asterisk that stands for exciting well in the excited atoms

perspective this would match the emissions of a supermassive black hole

that wasn't actively feeding on material our own galaxy could have been a quasar

in the past or in the future but right now the black hole was mostly silent

apart from this saddle radiation astronomers needed to be certain so they

performed a detailed survey of the very center of the Milky Way in the infrared

spectrum which allowed them to see through the gas and dust that obscures

the core invisible light and they discovered a group of stars orbiting

Sagittarius a star like comets orbiting the Sun only a black hole with millions

of times the mass of the Sun could provide the kind of gravitational anchor

to whip these stars around in such bizarre orbits further surveys found a

supermassive black hole at the heart of the Andromeda galaxy in fact it appears

these monsters are at the center of almost every galaxy in the universe but

where did they come from how did they form did the galaxies form first and

cause the black hole to form in the middle or did the black hole form and

build up the galaxies around them until recently this was actually still one of

the big unsolved mysteries in astronomy that said runners have done plenty of

research using more and more sensitive observatories worked out their theories

and now they're gathering evidence to help us get to the bottom of this

mystery astronomers have developed two models to how the large-scale structure

of the universe came together top-down and bottom-up in the top-down model an

entire galactic super cluster formed all at once out of a huge cloud of

primordial hydrogen left over from the Big Bang a super clusters worth of stars

as the cloud came together its spun up kicking out smaller spirals and dwarf

galaxies these could have combined later on to form the more complex structure we

see today the supermassive black holes would have formed as the dense cores of

these galaxies as they came together if one wrap your mind around

this think of the stellar nursery that formed our Sun and a bunch of the stars

imagine a single cloud of gas and dust forming multiple star systems within it

over time the Stars matured and drifted away from each other

that's top down one big event that leads to the structure we see today in the

bottom up model pockets of gas and dust collected together into larger and

larger masses eventually forming dwarf galaxies and even the clusters and

superclusters that we see today the supermassive black holes at the heart of

galaxies were grown from collisions and mergers between black holes over eons in

fact this is actually how astronomers think that the planets in the solar

system formed by pieces of dust attracting one another into larger and

larger grains until the planet sized objects formed over millions of years

bottom up small parts coming together so which is it astronomers think they know

the answer now and we'll get to it in a second but first I'd like to thank Pablo

after the Big Bang the entire universe was incredibly dense but it wasn't the

same density everywhere tiny quantum fluctuations in the density at the

beginning evolved over billions of years of expansion into the Galactic super

clusters we see today now I want to stop and let this sink into your brain for a

second there were microscopic variations in density in the early universe and

these variations became the structures hundreds of millions of light-years

across that we see today imagine the two forces at play as the expansion of the

universe happened on the one hand you've got the mutual gravity of the particles

pulling one another together and then on the other hand you've got the expansion

of the universe separating the particles from

one another the size of the galaxies clusters and superclusters were decided

by the balance point of those opposing forces if small pieces came together

then you get that bottom-up formation if large pieces came together then you get

that top-down formation when astronomers look out into the universe at the

largest scales they observe clusters and superclusters as far as they can see

which supports the top-down model on the other hand observations show that the

first stars formed just a few hundred million years after the Big Bang which

supports bottom-up so the answer is both no the most modern observations give the

edge to the bottom-up process the key is that gravity moves at the speed of light

which means that the gravitational interactions between particles spreading

away from each other needed to catch up going the speed of light in other words

you wouldn't get a super clusters worth of material coming together only as

stars worth of material but those first stars were made of pure hydrogen helium

and could grow much more massive than the stars we have today they would live

fast and die in supernova explosions creating much more massive black holes

than we get today the first protocol exes came together collecting together

these first monster black holes and the massive stars surrounding them into

dwarf galaxies and then over millions and billions of years these black holes

merged again and again accumulating millions and even billions of times the

mass of the Sun and this is how we got the modern galaxies that we see today

there was a recent observation that supports this conclusion

earlier this year astronomers announced the discovery of supermassive black

holes at the center of relatively tiny galaxies in our own Milky Way the

supermassive black hole is 4.1 million times the mass of the Sun but accounts

for only point zero one percent of the galaxy's total mass

but astronomers from the University of Utah found to ultra-compact galaxies

with black holes of 4.4 million and 5.8 million times the mass of the Sun

respectively and yet the black holes account for 13 and 18 percent of the

mass of their host galaxies and the thinking is that these galaxies were

once normal but collided with other galaxies early on in the history of the

universe were stripped of their stars and then they were spat out to roam the

cosmos they're the victims of those early merging events evidence of the

carnage that happened in the early universe when the mergers were happening

we always talked about the unsolved mysteries in the universe but this is

one that astronomers are starting to puzzle out it seems most likely that the

structure of the universe we see today formed bottom-up the first stars came

together into proto galaxies dying as supernovae to form the first black holes

the structure of the universe we see today is the end result of billions of

years of formation and destruction with the supermassive black holes coming

together over time once telescopes like James Webb get to work we should be able

to see these pieces coming together at the very edge of the observable universe

this was a fun episode and I know you're fascinated by black holes were there any
