There is nothing more comforting than a bowl of good egg drop soup. It seems to

warm the toes and the soul. I'm Tess and today I'm making a classic Chinese egg

drop soup. Come join me!

(intro music)

Chinese egg drop soup is so

easy to make and you can have it ready in five to ten minutes. I'm using four

cups of chicken broth. This is homemade but if you're using a boxed or canned

chicken broth or stock just make sure that you choose a low-sodium.

I have my heat on medium high and I'm bringing this up to a boil. I'm also

adding in some light soy sauce and this adds some flavor and a little saltiness.

Also adding in a little black pepper. You can also use white pepper for a little

more heat. Giving it a good stir.

Once up to a boil I'm adding in a slurry of cornstarch and water and this will

slightly thicken the broth. I'm using 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and I don't

like my egg drop soup real thick. Some like the soup a thicker consistency so

you can adjust the cornstarch slurry to your liking.

Turning my heat down to a simmer. Now is the time to add the star of the show....

the egg! This is a beaten jumbo egg but you can add too small or medium eggs.

I'm stirring the broth and at the same time slowly pouring in my egg. You will see

the small strands start to form... it's like magic!

Finally, in goes some chopped white and greens of garden onions and a dash of

sesame oil. Give it a good stir and it's ready to eat.

I think the sesame oil gives it a classic bright flavor.

Initially, when bringing the broth up to a boil you could add in a slice or two a

fresh ginger. That is the great part of making this classic Chinese egg drop

soup at home, you can make it the way you like it. Also, if you have a chance please

the amazing thing we call pollination is absolutely essential to sustain life on

earth as we know it the honeybee is an incredible little pollinator and of

course makes lots of delicious honey it's only one of 19 thousand bee species

in the world most of which don't live in colonies and don't produce honey

but are essential to pollination sadly more than one-third of these bee species

are facing declines in population and almost ten percent of facing complete

extinction but one thing we can easily do is create habitat for these essential

little pollinators like this fire tailed resin bee I was in the factory and

looking in a pile of flow hive offcuts and thought how can we reuse these how

can we upcycle our waste so we recap the discarded pieces and turn it into this

beautiful western red cedar pollinator house the solitary bees to come and

raise their young in creating habitat we give these pollinators stepping stones

through the urban landscape building corridors between our wild spaces if we

can give them enough homes we can bring back some of these important species

from the brink of extinction not all species nest in a pollinator house like

this there is much more you can easily do you can make holes in mud for the

blue banded bee you can drill holes in wood or you can go to town creating

whole pollinator zones in your garden and remember we can also protect our

pollinators by creating pesticide free zones and leaving plenty of wild spaces

around your home this is not only a help for the pollinators we depend on but a

learning opportunity for your family and loved ones

we want this to be accessible for everyone so we've included the tool and

the screws and everything you need to put it together as it's made from

upcycle flow hi both cats there's only a limited amount of pollinator houses

available last time they sold out within a week so don't miss out it's so

important to us to help these little pollinators however we can so what we've

decided to do is donate 100% of profits to grassroots organizations who support

these essential pollinators creating habitat is something we can all do so

please spread the word let's get out in the garden and create more homes for the

Solving Logarithmic Equations... How? (NancyPi) - Duration: 15:06.

Hi guys! I'm Nancy and I'm going to show you how to solve logarithmic equations.

In my other logarithms video I warned you that solving log equations could be a

whole other video, so here we are. Let me show you how to solve them.

OK, so a quick recap, in my other logarithms video I showed you some simple log equations

that just had one log in them and equaled a number.

OK, so every log is connected to an

exponential form. Logs and exponentials are opposite operations of each other, and

the best way to figure out a log is to rewrite it into exponential form, and solve for X.

And in my other video, "Logarithms... How?", I showed you how to rearrange the log

into exponential form, and solve for X.

Basically, it's just the little base number,

raised to the power of the number on the right side, equals the middle number, the

argument or the number that's left, so...

base to the right side equals the middle, base to the right side equals middle.

If you don't remember how to do this you can jump to my other video, "Logarithms... How?"

There was talk of memory tricks, like little to the

right equals middle. There was talk of snails with counter clockwise spiraling

shells, it was real party. But basically this is the simple kind of log equations.

What if it's not so simple? What if it's more complicated? You say, like more that

one log, a log equals another log. Several logs equal a number. Many logs, some of

them with numbers multiplied out front.. What do you do? And what do you do if you

see something like "check your solutions?" Or if your teacher says, "Check for

extraneous solutions" or "check your answers." How do you do that? I'll show you.

And I'll also show you the log properties, which are what you need to

simplify and condense, and solve more complicated equations like that. So that

would be like the power property, quotient property, product property, equality

property, all of those. So my other video gave you a taste of solving log equations

at the end, and now I'm going to give you a whole meal. But if you see the kind that

you're working on you can skip ahead. So just check the description for the time to

jump to. Let me show you how to solve.

Alright, say you have a log on each side of the equation.

It's getting more complicated, but don't worry, don't panic,

because actually really simple, if the logs have the same base you can just set

the insides of the logs equal to each and solve.

So this is the equality property

and it's just like I was saying, if the little bases are the same you can take the

insides of the log and set them equal to each other. By the way this is for little

bases that are positive and not equal to one. But anyway, if the bases are the

same, you can set the insides equal, and I know what you're thinking, "What bases?"

"I don't see any bases." Yeah, they're not explicitly written here. If you don't

actually see them, it's implied to be 10, the common log. So that's like the

default, and we can just go ahead and write that.

And now that we can see that those bases are actually the same.

You really do just take the inside X expressions

set them equal to each other, and a new equation, and leave the logs behind.

So then if you do some algebra and solve, you get x = 2.

And I know you might think that you're done, but with these log equations, you actually

have to check the numbers you get. So take the number and plug it back into the

original log equation and make sure everything checks out. The reason is that

sometimes the algebra you do after leaving the logs behind can magically turn up

extra numbers that don't actually work for the log.. for the domain of the log.

Let's try it. So you take that number for X, and plug it in for X in the original log, and

make sure everything checks out.

All right when you plug in 2 for X, you end up

getting log of 17 = log of 17, which is true. But also, log of 17 is perfectly

fine, because that's in the domain of the log. By the way if you ever got log of a

negative number, you would have to throw out that answer, because log of a negative

number is undefined in the real number system for the domain of the log.

But our's is fine, our 2 is fine. It checks out so we can box that.

And that's our answer. So that's the equality property, if you have one log equals another.

Now let me show you the product property.

Alright, what if you have two logs on one side of equation, and then just a number on the other?

Don't worry, you're going to use a property.

And a lot of the work of these equations is taking the multiple logs and

combining them into one. And with something like this, two logs added

together is going to end up being the same as one log of a product.

Let me show you what I mean.

OK, so this is the product property, and all it says is that the sum of two logs is

the log of a product. In other words, addition outside two logs is the same

thing as multiplication inside a log. I'll show you what I mean. And by the way this

is for variables that are positive, and when the base is not equal to one, but anyway

what does that mean for us? For our example? It means that because these bases

are the same, both have base 2. Instead of having two logs added together on the

left, we can write it as one log of these two multiplied. One log of X times (X - 2),

the log of their insides, their arguments multiplied.

Alright so we've rewritten it as one log. So we have just log base 2 of X(X - 2), and it still equals 3

on the right. This is great, because we just have one log in the equation now.

And we can use what you know from before to solve by rewriting it into exponential form.

So that would look like base 2 raised to the power of 3 equals this part

X(X - 2), that's how you rearrange it into exponential form.

Alright, so here's all the algebra we do to solve after you write it in exponential form.

You want to get everything on one side, and just 0 on the other side so that

you can solve. This quadratic you can factor into X - 4, X + 2. And once you

have it in factored form equals 0, the way you solve is setting each factor equal to 0.

And we get X = 4, and X = -2. It's tempting to think that you're done, I know.

But again we have to take those numbers, and check them in the original

equation. And I know, I know I didn't write check your solutions this time.

I left it out on purpose because your teachers will do that sometimes..

to really test you. They're trying to trick you, it's shady, I know. But we have to check

those numbers, so we'll take 4 and -2 and plug them each in for X in the original equation.

Alright, so we checked both answers. And we check 4 for X

you end up getting this, log base 2 of 4, is just 2 because 2 to the 2 power is 4.

That's just equal to two. This is just equal to 1, because 2 to the 1 power is 2.

Anyway on the left side it's really 2 + 1, which is equal to 3. So that checks out, and it

means that 4 is an actual answer. Now -2, when we check that one we

end up getting logs of negative numbers. And anytime you get a log of a negative

number it's undefined in the real number system. The negative number is not in the

domain of the log. So whatever caused that to happen has to be thrown out as an

answer, so it's not really an answer. And the only actual answer is X = 4.

So that's how you use the product property if you have two separate logs added

and they have the same base, you can put them together as one log of the two insides multiplied.

Now let me show you an even more complicated equation where you need

the quotient property and the power property.

Oh, but it gets better guys! Now we have four logs. And one of them

has a number multiplied in the front, what a mess. Yeah, you can't

un-see that. But it's actually not that bad, because the first thing you want to do

is anytime you do see one of those numbers multiplied in front of a log, you

use this new property, the power property, and you bring it up as a power inside the log.

OK, so this is the power property, and all it says that if you have a number

multiplied in front of a log, you can bring it up as a power inside the log.

And this is true for real powers P and when M and B are positive, and B not equal to 1.

That's my disclaimer. But anyway, for our problem, because we have this number

multiplied in front, the 2, as a coefficient, we can use the power

property and bring that 2 up as a power here for the 3, inside the log.

So this term will become log base 4 of 3 to the 2 power, 3 squared.

And of course 3 squared is just 9, so we can replace that with 9.

OK, now it's starting to look more like something we've seen before, kind of.

Try to use what you already know, and if you see two logs added together

and they have the same base, think of that property from before..

the product property where you can combine them into one log

that is of the product of these two. So log base 4 of 9 times 2 combined into one log.

So we combine those two logs together, became log base 4 of 9 times 2, which is a log

base 4 of 18, and this is our current version of a log equation, it's getting

more and more simple, more and more condensed, as they say, which is what you want.

Really we want just one log on each side, max. So now looking at this, there's

not much more you can do on the right. But on the left, you may already have guessed this

but when you have two logs subtracted, one log minus another

and they have the same base,

there's a property for that. And it's not the product property

but the quotient property.

So this is the quotient property, and all it says is that if you have one log

subtracted from another, and they have the same base, you can rewrite it

as a single log of one inside over the other inside. What that means for our

problem is that on the left side we can write this as just one log.

log base 4 of 36 over 2X.

Alright, and now.. I wrote this in a way that hopefully it'll make it pop out at you, but..

at this point it should look somewhat familiar. If you have

just one log equals another log, and they have the same base, you can just take the

insides and set them equal to each other and solve.

Alright, so when you do the algebra and you bring the 2X over to the right and you solve

you get x = 1.

And I'm sure by now I don't have to remind you that you do need to check that number.

Plug the 1 back in to the original equation, and make sure everything checks out.

OK, so this answer does check out. If you plug in 1, and you simplify, you can use

all the same properties when you're simplifying. But this does check out, so

x = 1 is the actual answer.

And this was a good example, we used all four properties.

Power, quotient, product, and equality. So these are all the properties you can use

to solve log equations. And I should tell you that also, I know this video is on log

equations, but if you just have expressions, log expressions that you're

supposed to simplify, you can use those same properties and lot of the same ideas

if you have to do that.

So I hope that helped you understand how to solve log equations.

Transformers G1 Devastator Walmart Exclusive Reissue In Vintage Packaging Unboxing!!! - Duration: 12:51.

welcome back everybody to another cooltoy unboxing video today we're gonna be

taking a look at the g1 reissue Walmart exclusive Devastator combiner kit in the

world of the transformers nothing is what it seems

meet the Constructicons 6p the robots that transformed into one mechanical

giant the cons gifts that sold separately from Hasbro now if you watch

my previous videos you saw me unbox Starscream as well as hot rod and I

couldn't say enough about these things they're fantastic reissues the packaging

looks fantastic as you can see they've really been faithful with the packaging

almost 100% you know duplication of the original g1 packaging hot rod was a

little weird because they put him in there kind of backwards so once I played

with him for a little while put him back in the package I made sure

to put him the correct orientation but Starscream also fantastic reissue again

amazing job of the packaging the only real complaint I have a Starscream was

his missiles are kind of big much bigger than the g1 original missiles so without

further ado let's get those guys out of the way and let's talk about this so

this has been available often on walmart.com since the San Diego

comic-con announcements regionally when these were first kind of announced

I tried literally almost every single day for the past two months checking on

walmart.com to try to get this but every single day it was out of stock lo and

behold walking around my local Walmart's though I did find this on the shelf as

well as the Starscream in the hot rod this retails at Walmart 74 dollars right

now it is you know a Walmart exclusive so you can only find it at your local

Walmart's again you can try Walmart comm but I have not seen it in stock for

several months so your best bet is to go in store and try to find this bad boy on

the shelf if you're trying to go the brick seatrout let me see I get that

barcode there for you as you can see comes with everything you

would expect for a Devastator kit you got Bonecrusher hook long-haul

scavenger mix master scrapper everybody knows

Devastator I don't need to describe to you devastators history or anything like

that if you've watched any transformer anything for any amount of time you've

at some point come across Devastator obviously this was a big to do with my

childhood this is one of those toys that my parents were never going to get me it

was kind of expensive hard to find and just well beyond my price range as a

child so super excited to have a faithful g1 reissue of this right now

and without further ado let's go ahead and unbox him and put them together

shall we all right scissors

I know this gives a lot of people anxiety but you can't not put them

together alright so as before got a little clamshell plastic case no

styrofoam insert or anything like that because styrofoam is bad for the

environment underneath it you have the sticker book and the combining /

transforming instructions I will definitely need this I've never

honestly transformed a Devastator kit so this will be a first for me like said

never had an opportunity to have this as a child so many years later this is the

best I can do very extensive instruction

so we've got the individual transformation instructions for each and

then on the back side you have how to transform and form Devastator the other

way stickers again very cool reflective chrome esque looking stickers very

nicely detailed let's go ahead and look at these guys

one thing you'll notice the head is technically not faithful to the cartoon

adaptation this is a different head sculpt so not a hundred percent accurate

as far as g1 cartoon but you know I like it it's fine as long as uh as long as

you're not absolutely dead set on having 100% faithful cartoon reproduction then

you're gonna like this kit who wouldn't

okay that's good news so some of these already have stickers applied to them

that makes me super excited here we go set him out here looking good actual

metal diecast parts not a hundred percent plastic so they did really good

job on these feels nice and sturdy again a couple of stickers already put in

there again nice weight to them feels good

I can already tell that the quality on this is really really well done just

because these don't feel loose as far as their joints a lot of these there's a

couple of Chinese knockoffs you can buy on eBay for $65 or so I have I

personally felt those and everything just feels so much so much lesser

quality than this right here like all the joints on those are like super loose

and already flopping around this is nice tight joints gun is legit but alright so

go ahead and get some stickers on and get them dressed right

okay we got the stickers put on and one thing I will highly suggest to everybody

get yourself a pair of tweezers because trying to put these little stickers on

without them is absolutely nightmare so definitely get some tweezers when you're

putting on these stickers because they are very small and very intricate and

they were in very precarious places on some of these but first things first

we'll look at a bone crusher and his transformation mode this sticker in the

middle here in particular was extremely difficult to get on definitely needed

tweezers for that but you know he looks good

stands stands well got a nice balance so good good happy bone crusher yep

get a construct crown hook hook again a lot of good ones a little bit of wobbly

just because the weight of the the crane hook on him but looks good transformed

well happy with him next get scavenger again they all come with their own guns

and accessories both in their attack modes as well as the robot modes but one

thing I will notice is missile doesn't work so couldn't ever get that missile

to fire I don't know if they're just still too new and I need to loosen up

the joints a little bit but it was not firing but happy with him looks good

long haul again lots of intricate stickers and details things like that

but he looks great very happy with him

he touched stickers there to reveal that he's a Decepticon as if there was ever

any doubt okay this one this one was an issue

Mixmaster everything's fine until I transform him and realized whoever built

this in the factory switched the the freakin tires and the arms on the wrong

side so when his arms are extended the actual hand-holding positions are on the

bottom and you're like okay well that's not a big deal well it kind of is

because Mixmaster has the coolest gun accessory out of all of them and you

can't really put it in there I mean that just looks stupid and silly

he's got a gun upside down who shoots a gun like that also his missile firing

mechanism doesn't work so again I don't know if that's just too tight but yeah

they they put the the tires in the wheels in the wrong orientation this one

should be on that side and vice-versa and there's really no way for me to fix

that because you know they don't just like pull apart they're very intricate

and I guarantee once I ripped that side off I'm never going to be able to get it

back on there so unfortunately I've got a defective Mixmaster

that's super depressing but I mean I guess I can live with it because

honestly he displays all right and until you get like right up and close and you

notice the hands are upside down I guess I could probably try to drill a little

bit a hole on the top of them or I don't know maybe I can contact Hasbro and

maybe think send me a replacement Mixmaster what do you guys think think I

should do it but without further ado let's do what

these guys are designed for let's combine them and let's form Devastator

all right so after some mild adjustments there in the middle I had a hell of a

time trying to get his midsection set up he kept leaning top-heavy but got him

snapped in there like said pros and cons dad having a new one but he looks great

I mean great colors luckily uh no issues with my Mixmaster

because I had the upside-down hands you know that it doesn't really affect

anything you know he's just a foot down here so I've seen a lot of variations

where this Mix Master has a purple cylinder this is not purple on this one

it's yellow but overall very happy with him like said 74 dollars at Walmart

can't really complain absolutely in love with the packaging like having the

packaging because I'm never gonna be able to afford an original g1 Devastator

super happy with him super excited how it turned out a little bummed about you

know having missiles that don't fire I think that just maybe my bad luck and

having some upside down hands-on Mix Master better than that I think they did

a fantastic job and I definitely think it's worth 2 $74 so be on the lookout of

Chargement d'un film 120 dans la K6x14V5 (with subtitles) - Duration: 4:48.

Hello everybody, Gaetan Cormier here once again

Following a comment received on my last video

about the Pali K6x14V5...

a viewer ia asking if a darkroom

or a film chaging bag is need

in order to load the camera with 120 film

The answer to this is NO

The camera is loaded in daylight like any other camera

Let me show you

Here I have an old roll of Kodak

Verichrome Pan in 120 format

I have a small project for this one

and I'll use it to show you how to install the film

inside the Pali

So, you need the take-up spool

So like any other camera, you insert the film tab in there

Here we go...

Once the film is properly grabbed by the take-up spool

We must now install the film clips

One clip on the film side

and one clip on the take-up spool side. These clips helps

the film to unroll from one side to the other in order to

keep a certain tightness to the roll

You can now unroll the film a little

until you see the START arrow

and all you need is to slide the film into place

Make sur that those clips are well in place

Now, push it in..

Make sure that it's well inserted

and adjust backing paper if needed

As you can, now it's well placed

Simple as that, we now place the lens with it's cone in place

Re-install the top plate

Make sure that the knobs are well in the spools

Install the set screws on the top plate

I went shooting yesterday

and unfortunately, I lost one of the set screws

so this is why I have put a tape over the hole

Now, we must advance the film up the shot number 3

When turning the right knob for film advance, put a

little pressure on the left knob so film film is nicely spread in the camera

Here we have frame 1 so keep turning

And frame #3, so now my camera is ready

to take some photos

I hope to get some good results with this film

I'm using an old Kodak Verichrome pan film

I have a project of nighttime long exposure photography

this film expired in december 1967

When finished, I will be processing this roll

with a Stand Development

Unfortunately, the last roll I did from the same "lot"

it didn't came out too good

so who knows..

I might have nothing too show later on...

But, the most important thing is that tonight

I wanted to show you how to prep this camera
