Youtube daily report Jan 3 2017

I used to see in the supermarkets the Weekly World News.

It was full of fake news stories.

They were famous for this ongoing saga about the bat boy.

It's not even new for Hillary Clinton.

There was another story in which Hillary Clinton was supposed to have found an alien baby and adopted him.

So this kind of thing, as an editorial strategy,

has always been around, but there wasn't a lot of money in it, and there wasn't much

incentive to produce it.

Because the big money was in advertising.

If you're trying to make people think 'this expensive watch, these kind of clothes will

make you seem like a savvy, cool person,' advertising in a fake news publication, it

doesn't meet any of those objectives.

What is new are the incentives of the internet.

A lot of advertisement these days is served by remote computer algorithms.

They know who you are because they've been tracking your web browsing, but they don't

care what site you're on.

And within Facebook, it can be hard to tell where a story is coming from.

The way that's presented, you don't have a strong sense of what is the brand and what

is their reputation.

So fake news can zoom around facebook faster than anything before, it can make money, and

people might not know if it's coming from a credible source.

And fake news was definitely rampant during the 2016 presidential election.

One Buzzfeed News report found that the top

fake news articles on Facebook were either pro-Trump

or anti-Hillary.

Which makes fake news a convenient target for liberals who are

upset about the election results.

While established media outlets are brands based on accuracy, rogue websites,

some masquerading as legitimate, are reporting misinformation

But when you look at it, as best we can tell,

the kinds of things that really hurt Hillary Clinton

in the campaign were true stories.

Gallup asked voters what they'd read, seen,

or heard about Hillary Clinton,

and they found stories about Clinton's email dominated

throughout the campaign.

Network television news devoted

more minutes of total airtime to covering Hillary

Clinton's email server than to all policy issues combined,

and it wasn't even close.

Clinton violated security guidelines

when she used a private email server.

The Hillary Clinton camp back under the cloud of the email controversy.

Thousands of emails under the microscope.

Clinton's email scandal is back in the spotlight.

you have two candidates out there

you have a team of reporters,

you divide up your team.

Reporters are smart, they want to be adversarial.

So the upshot is that you naturally end up with the result

that both candidates are pretty similar,

because you have similar numbers of people,

writing similar numbers of investigative

stories about both of them.

So if it turns out there's two big knocks

on Hillary Clinton, her emails and her

foundation, you get a lot of stories about

each of those subjects

And if it turns out there's a million knocks

against Donald Trump,

each story winds up getting less coverage because

you only have a certain amount of Donald Trump space

This is called false equivalence, and you

can see some evidence of this in the Gallup data.

Emails consistently are at the top for Clinton,

with Trump stories shifting around.

Facebook is finally beginning to fight back by partnering with proven fact-checking organizations.

But don't expect this to fix everything.

Many voters are making a lesser of two evils

assessment right now.

You have two flawed candidates this year,

which one can you tolerate the most.

Scandals surround both campaigns.

Both candidates are facing serious trust issues.

Real news, very mainstream outlets

did not present the stakes well.

I think that means a lot of people

went into this election not really understanding

what was at stake.

Talking About My Nikon DSLR & Lenses - Duration: 5:10.

today I thought I would talk about my DSLR the lenses I've bought for it and some other

accessories that I've purchased for it I'm by no means an advanced DSLR user or photographer

I'm more of an intermediate I'm still learning as I go on but I thought I would show you

my equipment that I have for my camera so far here is my Nikon D5300 I've had it about

two years three months in a few days and so far I haven't had any problems with the camera

itself with it's operation or anything else and here is the back of the Nikon D5300 which

I purchased this is actually my first DSLR camera before that I just had a digital camera

now I will show you the lenses and other accessories that I purchased for the camera the first

lens I bought that came with the camera and it is a kit lens is the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor

18 to 140 millimeter F 3.5 to 5.6 G ED VR lens and you can buy it separately for four

hundred and ninety nine ninety five U.S. dollars and it's considered a kit lens because it's

on the lower end of the Nikon 18 to 140 millimeter type lenses and it can also be purchased with

a camera body which is why they call it a kit lens and as you can see there is also

the lens hood on the left of it all of the lenses that I own have a lens hood and there

are the buttons on the side of the lens one is auto to manual focus and the other is VR

on or off this is the next lens that I bought it's the Sigma 150 to 600 millimeter F 5 to

6.3 DG contemporary there is also a sports edition of this lens which is more expensive

I believe this lens was around twelve hundred U.S. dollars I want to say I can't remember

for sure I will try to put the price somewhere on screen that is currently and as you can

see it has a lens hood that came with it I didn't have to buy it separately and also

you can see the buttons on it from the focus control which is auto manual override and

manual focus and then also the limiter the distance limiter the optical stabilization

which is Sigma's version of VR and custom settings that you need a dock for which I

haven't bought and I probably wouldn't use anyway but yeah this is my most expensive

lens and I haven't really had any issues with it it does take really good pictures there

are sometimes where every photographer can make a mistake and the pictures not in focus

or there's a little bit of blur but that isn't really the lens's fault and the last lens

is a Nikon AF-S DX micro Nikkor 40 millimeter F 2.8 G it is a macro lens but you can also

use it for other things like portraits or landscape it just limited to the 40 millimeter

focal length and it came with a lens hood as you can see to the left of it and as you

can see it has a focus button manual auto or manual and also a distance limiter and

again this is the cheapest lens that I purchased so far I believe it was about two hundred

and forty nine Canadian or possibly U.S. dollars like I said earlier the prices will be in

the video description or somewhere on screen both of the Nikon lenses that I showed you

came with very little the Sigma lens is the one that came with the most accessories like

it came with a lens strap where you can actually put a strap on your lens it came with an adjustable

collar for a tripod mount it came with lens hood and there are some other things that

it came with and also because I bought the Sigma in Canada it has a seven year warranty

now both of the Nikon lenses the kit lens did not come with a lens hood I had to buy

that separately and this macro lens that you're seeing right now came with a lens hood which

is kind of funny because it's the cheapest lens out of the two Nikon lenses and it came

with a hood and the kit lens did not come with a hood this macro lens also came with

a pouch and the kit lens did not come with a pouch what kind of camera do you use do

you have a DSLR a digital camera or maybe just your phone

Donald Trump: An American Crony Capitalist? - Duration: 3:46.

In late 2016 former governor Sarah Palin accused president-elect Donald Trump of taking part

in crony capitalism, this was following a deal Trump made with an air conditioning company

to keep a number of jobs in the United States.

Many believe Trump used his new powers to sway the deal, which involved $7 million dollars

in incentives to the company.

This outwardly has the potential to stray into favoritism; the basis of crony capitalism.

So what exactly is crony capitalism?

Well, crony capitalism is generally defined as businesses which benefit from favoritism

by government officials.

There are varying forms of the practice, and can be most easily understood in terms of

"economic rent".

This term refers to the difference in what an industry or business would normally be

able to earn in a free market, and what they are able to earn as a result of government

influence.

An easy to understand example is the system of Taxis versus car-sharing services like

Lyft or Uber.

In certain areas, car-sharing is cheaper because effectively anybody can drive, whereas to

drive a taxi you need an expensive license, called a medallion, which are limited in number.

The medallion system is an artificial method of increasing the "economic rent", or

price, of the service, so that drivers do not have to compete, and the barrier to entry

is high.

Car sharing represents the free market, while Taxi medallions exist as a form of crony capitalism.

In many countries, certain industries are considered to be "economically rent-heavy",

including casinos, oil and gas, real estate, telecommunications and others.

These industries can get tax breaks or special legal treatment as a result of lobbying, unionizing,

and sometimes even outright corruption.

In 2016, the Economist released a list of the countries suffering from crony capitalism

the most.

By calculating the wealth of billionaires within those industries, as compared to the

overall GDP, the disproportion of "economic rent" becomes clear.

Topping the list is Russia, which sees roughly 18% of the country's GDP in the hands of

billionaires in crony industries.

This figure is considerably higher than any other country on the list, and stems from

the unique combination of Russia being a major world power, with a history of government

favoritism.

Following the fall of the Soviet Union, most high capital industries were overtaken by

oligarchs, who became extremely wealthy off of former state resources, while shutting

out any potential free market competition.

In fact, of Russia's 77 billionaires, one of the richest made his fortune by selling

shares of government industries for private loans, through a government sanctioned program.

However, it is not all bad news.

According to the Economist, the share of crony billionaire industries has fallen by as much

as 16% in the past two years, due in part to a global crackdown on the worst forms of

crony capitalism, such as corruption.

And while this share of so-called "crony wealth" is consistent among wealthy countries,

developing countries have managed to diversify their wealth away from those industries.

Since 2008, the share of wealth has fallen from 7% to just 4%, an incredible leap considering

how much easier it is to cull government favor in less developed regions.

The Economist ranks Donald Trump at number 104 in "individual cronyism", due to his

business dealings in real estate and casinos.

However, the United States itself only ranks as number sixteenth worldwide.

Trump favoring certain industries over others has already begun to happen, just how far

it will go remains to be seen.

But while Trump may use his presidency to enrich the businesses he prefers, many worry

he may use it to enrich himself and his family.

In fact, this practice is known in other parts of the world as "kleptocracy", so what

exactly does that mean, and who have been the most notorious kleptocrats?

Find out in this video.

Not only did Duvalier siphon as much as $800 million according to Transparency International,

he spent state funds on many personal expenses.

In one case, he allegedly spent millions on a wedding for himself.

Susan B Anthony, Voted My Girl Hero! - Duration: 2:58.

Susan B. Anthony was born in 1820 and grew up in upstate New York back when slavery was

still legal and only white men could vote.

Her whole family was against slavery and thought that everyone should be treated equally no

matter their race or gender.

Susan grew up helping slaves escape and convincing others to help.

While working to end slavery, Susan B. Anthony also spoke out for equal rights for women.

In 1851, She met Elizabeth Cady Stanton who became her best friend and helped her write

convincing speeches to spread her equal rights message.

Susan B. Anthony was arrested for voting in 1872 in her hometown of Rochester, NY.

She was put on trial and refused to pay the fine.

She was so strong that the men in the government quietly dropped the charges because they were

afraid of what might happen.

I like to think that she had super-ray vision and melted them into a puddle but it probably

didn't happen like that.

Six years later, with the help of her best friend Elizabeth, Susan B Anthony convinced

Congress to consider a constitutional amendment giving women the right to vote.

It wasn't a huge success.

The men still didn't think women were as good and deserved the same respect.

When she was fighting for women's rights a lot of people hated her.

They accused her of a lot of terrible things and printed lies about her in newspapers.

But after years of fighting and giving almost 100 speeches a year, public opinion began

to change.

In 1900 she forced the University of Rochester to allow women to study.

And on her 80th birthday in the same year, she was honored by an invitation to meet President

William McKinley.

Ms. Anthony died in 1906 and in 1920 the "Anthony Amendment" became the Nineteenth Amendment

to the U.S. Constitution giving women the right to vote.

In 1979, 73 years after Susan died, her portrait was put on the one dollar coin.

She was the first real woman to appear on US Money and I have a special one in my coin

collection.

For girls everywhere I want to say: Thank You, Susan!

Setting Goals: Use This 2-Step Process To Achieve More With Less Stress - Duration: 11:01.

Is that a GIF?

Am I making a GIF right now?

I'm giving you GIF material.

Hey there, it's Marie Forleo and you are watching MarieTV, the place to be to create

a business and life you love.

Happy New Year!

Or if it's not January, happy whenever you're watching this.

Because today I'm going to teach you a simple two step process that is perfect to help you

start the year off strong and/or perfect to do anytime you have so many things on your

plate that you feel like your beautiful head is going to explode.

Now, I call this two step process the purge and prune.

Now, I know, that kind of sounds like either the most horrible fad diet in the world or

an equally horrible old timey pub.

We serve two things here.

Purge and prune.

We're all out of prune.

Seriously though, it is simple and it works.

I want you to grab a pen, get a notebook, and let's get cracking.

Because step number one is called the purge.

Now, you might be asking yourself, what do I mean by this?

I mean get all of those incredible dreams and goals and to do's out of your noggin

and down onto the page.

I want you to write down all the things that you want to accomplish, that you want to achieve,

or the things that you want to experience over the next 12 months.

Now, I know this may sound a little basic, but you would be surprised at how many people

don't do this on a regular basis and then they wind up complaining about feeling completely

overwhelmed, so much so that they want to go into the corner and do the ugly cry.

Now, when I do this kind of brain dump I like to think about it in three spheres.

The first sphere is your self, meaning what are some of the specific things that you want

to accomplish this year?

In terms of, let's say, your health and fitness or your self care or your finances

or things like your mindset.

Or maybe it's something that you want to learn or practice or any creative projects

or giving back.

Or maybe something about your home or where you live.

I don't care, whatever it is, all I want you to do is think about how you want to grow

yourself this year and write it down.

Now, the second sphere is your relationships.

So think about the most important people in your life.

Who are they?

Is it your spouse or maybe a significant other?

Maybe if you have kids or parents or grandparents or nieces or nephews.

Or maybe it's your friends.

Do you want to plan some fun visits or vacations or adventures with people that you love?

What are some improvements that you want to make in your relationships that are going

to require some time and some focus?

Think about all that and write those down too.

And then the third sphere is your business or career.

So what are some of the major projects or goals that you want to work on this year in

terms of your professional life?

Maybe you want to launch a new product or maybe you want to expand your team.

I don't know, maybe you want to brush up on your resume or ask for a raise or write a

book or just do more networking.

Once again, think about all of this, write it down.

One thing that's important, do not edit yourself and don't censor yourself.

Don't stop and think I don't know how I'm gonna get this one done.

All I want you to do is get everything out of your head and onto the page.

You know, I do this exercise often and, I have to tell you, it feels so good.

You're gonna get a massive surge in energy once you do this and then you're gonna be

ready for step number two.

And step number two is the prune.

Now, what do I mean by this?

Anyone who's a gardener, you know the secret to keeping some of your plants really healthy

and strong is sometimes you've gotta prune them.

Meaning you've gotta go in, you take your big old loppers, and you just cut those branches

back.

And sometimes you do it severely.

And I know that might sound a little bit scary.

I mean, why would you want to lose all these nice healthy branches on your plant?

Well, because when you do all the plant's energy gets uber focused and the plant grows

back a lot healthier, a lot stronger, and more robust than it was before.

The same thing is gonna happen to you once you start going in and pruning back your list

of what you want to work on over the next 12 months.

Now, you might be saying, Marie, no.

I do not want to lose anything off my list.

I like all of my projects.

I still want to do that and that and that.

Don't make me lop it off, girl.

Look, I understand, but here's the thing.

Most ambitious, driven people take on way too much, and I bet you do this all the time.

You might have your focus scattered, you're going to dilute your energy, and then you're

gonna wind up feeling overwhelmed and either quit or just spinning your wheels around and

around and never make any meaningful progress.

That's why I'm suggesting that you take the opposite approach.

Here's what I want you to do.

I want you to focus on the critical few things rather than the trivial many.

Really focus down.

What are the small number of projects that are going to give you the highest, most powerful,

and meaningful results in your life?

So now my friend it is time for you to prune.

I want you to take a look at your list and ask yourself, what do you really want your

life to be about this year?

How do you want to spend your time over these next 12 months?

Who do you want to become?

These are big important questions.

They're not necessarily that easy to answer, but it is vital that you do.

Now, if you find yourself being torn up about what to prune and what not to prune, you can

look at each item on your list through one of these three filters.

So filter number one is ask yourself, what is the payoff for making this project happen?

So what's the impact for reaching this goal and how is that going to impact your life

mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically, or financially?

Filter number two, ask yourself how will this project ultimately benefit others?

You know, what's the payoff for the other people in your life, the people that you love?

Whether that's your family or your team or even greater society.

And then filter number three, and I think this one is actually the most important filter,

who will you have to become in order to make this goal or this project a reality?

So in other words, what habits or skills or character traits will you need to develop

in order to make this thing come to life?

Big hint here, any project or goal that stretches you, that requires you to grow, is always

going to be more rewarding than ones that don't.

If you go through those filters and think, "That's not really worth it," or, "You

know what?

That's not a big enough payoff for me right now," or, "You know what?

I'm just not down for that kind of commitment," it is time to cut that branch.

Don't judge yourself, just lop it off.

Cross that thing out.

And I do want to say, crossing something out doesn't mean that you're never going to

take that project on, just that you're not going to put pressure on yourself to work

on that thing this year.

And, of course, if you just start crushing through your list of projects and you get

things done so fast, you're like look at me, you can always go back to your list and

add more onto your plate.

And now, before you ask, I do want to address this: no, there is no perfect number of projects

or plans or goals to end up with, and that's because every single one of us is so different.

You know, some of us are entrepreneurs, some of us are employees or students, some of us

have health challenges, some of us have big families to take care of, and all of us are

completely unique in terms of our capacity, our current life circumstances, and our ambition.

But I will say this, and this is a constant, less is more, so just use your judgment, use

your instincts, and cut that list back to make it as tight and right as possible.

And that, my friends, is how you purge and prune.

And it is so effective we actually made up a dance, which is called the purge and prune.

Purge - get it on out.

Prune - now cut it on back.

Purge - dump it out on the page.

Prune - reel it on in.

Purge - get buck, buck wild.

Prune - now tighten it on up.

Purge - dream big.

Prune - plan small.

Purge - do a brain dump.

Prune - 80/20 rule.

Now, after you purge and prune, the very next step is to transfer all your goals and your

projects into your calendar.

Because, as I always like to say, if it's not scheduled it's not real.

See, you know this.

Now, if you want a little calendar tool that we use in our company to map out all our big

initiatives for the year, you can download it right below.

Now, I want to wrap this episode up on a Tweetable.

Sometimes the best way to grow is to cut back.

Now I would love to hear from you, and we've got a two parter today.

First up, what is the number one goal or project that you are committed to bring to life this

year?

Tell me about it in terms of the three filters.

So what's the payoff for doing it, how will it impact others, and who will you need to

become in order to bring this project to life?

And then number two, what's one project or goal that you pruned as a result of this

process and how does it feel to get it go?

You know, like let it go, let it go.

All that good stuff.

I want you to leave a comment below and let me know.

Now, as always, the best conversations happen after the episode over at MarieForleo.com,

When I've decided to leave Brazil to go for an opportunity at the USA...

I had no idea what would happen.

We all have dreams and I always went towards mine.

I think that what happened to me was falling in love for the way

for the journey and for the road.

Sally Ride - My Girl Hero in Space - Duration: 2:58.

today on my girl heroes i'm going to

tell you about amazing Sally Ride was

not only the first American woman in

space but he was the youngest American

to ever go into space and school

Sally studied physics and when she

decided to become an astronaut

she wouldn't take no for an answer in

the late nineteen seventies which was

back when my dad was still a kid NASA

took out a University newspaper ad

looking for people enjoying the space

program it probably said something like

space is great go see it up close

Sally applied and was chosen out of

eight thousand applicants she worked and

studied very hard at NASA and was picked

to go into space on the space shuttle

mission if you don't know what a space

shuttle was it was a spaceship that you

could blast off the earth with perform

complicated and important work in space

and fly back home

the really cool thing about the space

shuttle is that you could fly it into

space over and over again instead of

having to build a new one every time I

muni team 1983 a space shuttle

challenger lifted off from the kennedy

space center and Sally Ride became the

first American woman in space

she was in space for six days two hours

23 minutes and 59 seconds while she was

up there she worked on experiments at

least two satellites and was the first

woman to operate the giant robotic arm

on the space shuttle so we got to go

into space again on the same space

shuttle

on october 1984 and all she spent over

three hundred and forty three hours in

space that's more than two weeks she was

supposed to go to space again but there

was a horrible disaster and after 24

successful missions a space shuttle

Challenger exploded i get watch that

happen live on TV sitting in a classroom

at school he said people were crying at

their desks it must have been terrible

sally was asked to be a special member

of the group that investigated why it

happened so they could keep it from

happening again later Sally went on to

become a physics professor and the

director of the California is based

Institute after Sally died in 2012 the

US Navy named a research after her

it may not go into space but i know

sally would have liked it

Ada Lovelace - My Girl Hero Coder - Duration: 3:12.

Ada Lovelace Script

Just like Sally Ride, another My girl Hero, Ada Lovelace was not just an amazing woman,

she also had a really cool name.

Ada Lovelace was the first person to write anything like a computer program.

This may not sound like a big deal to you, but the computer hadn't even been invented

yet!

How is that even possible?

Ada's dad was a famous poet in England about 200 years ago so you'd think she would have

grown up to be a famous poet too.

But her dad, Lord Byron, wasn't a very good father and left Ada and her Mom when she was

just a baby.

As she grew up.

Ada's mom didn't want her to be anything like her dad so she pushed Ada to study things

that her dad didn't like or know about like science and math.

This was a lucky coincidence because Ada thought those things were pretty cool anyway.

When she was a teenager, she became friends with the man who is now called the father

of computers, Charles Babbage.

I thought maybe Mr. Babbage married Ms. Apple but my dad says it doesn't work like that.

So Babbage did it the hard way and used pen and paper to design a kind of early computer

he called an Analytical Engine.

Ada not only loved the idea but she was one of the few people who really understood what

a cool thing it was.

I guess it was like seeing drawings of the first iPhone and knowing that it could do

more than order a pizza.

In 1843 Ada decided to help Babbage by translating an article that a guy with a bunch of medals

on his chest named Luigi Menabrea had written in Italian.

It talked about how great Babbage's Analytical Engine was and how it worked.

The problem was that smart people back in England didn't understand it very well.

So Ada not only translated it from Italian into English but she wrote a computer program

on the end of it to show what it could do.

She didn't call it a computer program but that's what it was: the world's first computer

program.

It's a good thing she did too otherwise I couldn't play Super Mario.

Ada is also famous for thinking about stuff that the Analytical Engine could do.

She wrote in letters about how she wondered if it could write beautiful music or draw

pictures.

Ada wasn't just dreaming, she was thinking about HOW it would happen by turning these

real life things into numbers that the engine could work on.

So Ada isn't just my hero, she's the hero of anyone who likes to play computer games

or listen to music on an iPhone.

Thank you Ada!

Mary Anning, My Girl Hero Rocker! - Duration: 3:28.

Have you ever gone fossil hunting?

I love finding fossils and My Girl Hero, Mary Anning did too.

She not only found fossils that became great discoveries in science but studied them too.

She expanded our knowledge of paleontology at a time when women were being ignored in

the sciences.

If you think she already sounds interesting then you'll love this.

Mary Anning started off life with a bang.

When she was just 15 MONTHS old, she was struck by lightning.

She not only survived but her family claimed that it changed her from a sickly baby into

a lively curious child.

Mary's family was very poor and lived in a small village on the English Channel.

The cliffs by her village were full of what the locals called "curios" and we call fossils.

They had funny names for them too like Snake Stones for ammonites and Devil's Fingers for

belemnites [bell em nights].

Mary's whole family collected fossils since before she was born and sold them to visitors

and collectors.

Her father also earned money as a cabinet maker but he died when she was 11.

After that Mary and her brother spent most of their days on the dangerous cliffs looking

for fossils to sell.

Most of the fossils they found earned them very little money.

Sometimes an interesting fossil would earn them enough to pay the rent on a poor little

house that sat right next to the sea.

If this sounds like a fun beach house vacation, it wasn't.

In fact, they once had to climb out of the upstairs windows to escape waves crashing

through the front door.

Mary Anning had almost no formal education and learned everything she could about fossils

on her own.

Her reputation as an expert in paleontology began to spread over the years.

But since she was a woman in the 1800s, no one would publish her papers or give her any

real credit for her discoveries and theories.

It just wasn't fair.

To make matters worse, collecting fossils on the cliffs was dangerous work.

Landslides happened all the time and one almost killed her.

Mary Anning continued to discover, analyze and sell interesting and rare fossils until

her early death in 1847.

After she died, her reputation continued to grow.

She had discovered such important fossils as the Ichthyosaur, the Plesiosaurus, the

pterosaur, and a ton of rare fossil fish.

In fact, there were so many important discoveries that it became hard to talk about them without

mentioning her name and discovering what an incredible person she was.

Mary, I'm glad I discovered you.

7 Real Ghost Stories And 1 Personal Ghost Story | #Scarystories - Duration: 6:53.

Two years ago, I was half asleep when I felt like I was being pulled off my bed by my legs.

Suddenly, I shot straight up and started violently choking!

It took me a few minutes to catch my breath, and it was so bad my mom woke up to check

on me.

HERES THE SCARIEST PART: The next morning, my mom said she didnt remember my coughing

fit, but she told me she had a dream that the DEVIL WAS TRYING TO PULL ME AWAY FROM

HER

I was home alone watching TV when I saw something moving in the master bedroom.

I strained my eyes to see a man walking out of the closet to the other side of the room.

He stopped, looked at me, put his finger to his lips, then turned around.

There was blood on his face, and the back of his head was missing.

He vanished back into the closet.

We moved when we found out that the mysterious small hole in the ceiling of our bedroom is

from a previous tenant who shot himself in that exact spot.

A few years ago, I was upstairs at my moms house playing on the computer when I heard

the front door open and my mom come in.

She yelled, Amber!

Im home, and seemed to be struggling with some groceries.

I ran downstairs to help her but she wasnt there.

Her car wasnt in the driveway, either.

I woke up one night having to pee, and I brought my phone to the bathroom.

While walking down the hall and texting, I bumped into a girl in a white dress.

I didnt look up, said sorry, and kept going.

It occurred to me moments later that I was home alone and not in my bustling high school.

The next day, when my boyfriend came to pick me up for the movies, he asked why Id been

staring at him through the upstairs window, and why Id changed out of my white dress.

But I dont even own a white dress.

Before I start this story I have to say that my brother and his son stayed at our house

with when this happened.

I came home from work one day and opened the door, the stairs are right next to the door

and at the angle where I am standing I can see just some bare feet standing at the top

of the stairs the rest of the body is blocked from view.

I look and the child walk slowly up the stairs and don't think much of it since my brother

and his child are in the house, I then walk to the living room and see them both there!,

and asked him who is upstairs I saw someone at the stairs I thought it was your child,he

says that no one else is home but them.

Then all of a sudden we hear someone running upstairs and a giggle.i was getting freaked

out by now me and my brother both walk slowly up the stairs and looked everywhere but there

was no one there.

I was sleeping alone in a room I shared with my six-year-old sister, but she wasnt home.

She had a toy McDonalds cash register with a drive-thru radio thatd play a recording

if you pressed a button.

I was dozing off when I heard, Welcome to McDonalds, can I take your order?

from inside our closet.

I investigated, took it out of the toy box, and turned it off before setting it on a shelf

where it wouldnt be disturbed.

About 20 minutes later, Im falling asleep and heard a voice whisper, I would like

Chicken McNuggets, please. You bet I bolted out of there.

My mom bought me my first iPhone right before she passed away.

After we lost her, Id sometimes randomly find Siri open with a small conversation on

the screen.

This happened a handful of times.

One day, I was scared because I was starting my new job, and left my phone on the desk

next to me.

Siri was open, and the screen said, What you doing? I burst into tears What

you doing? was the phrase my mom and I used to greet each other on the phone.

I used to share a paper route with my brothers, and wed deliver to a lady named Margie.

Since she was old and lived alone, one of us would take the paper inside and check on

her.

One day I went in and she was asleep on the bed, so I put the paper on the table and left.

The next day, she was asleep again, hadnt opened the paper from the day before.

The following day, I went in and Margie was awake.

She said she was very happy and gave me a hug.

But the next morning there were cars outside her house.

Apparently Margie had died in her bed, three or four days before I had spoken to and

hugged her about 24 earlier, when she was already dead.
