Youtube daily report Jan 4 2017

Water, water, everywhere, On all the moons a-freeze;

Water, water, everywhere, Please alien life say cheese.

Sup planetoids, thanks for watching DNews, y'all know me.

I'm Trace.

We often hear, "We know more about space than about the depths of our own oceans."

Whether that's true or not (and it's arguable) what about oceans on other planets?

What do we know about them?!

Firstly, Earth is the only planet anywhere in the universe that we know has stable, liquid

water on its surface.

There are other celestial bodies we suspect of having oceans though, like Europa and Ganymede,

moons of Jupiter, and Enceladus, a moon of Saturn.

It's just the oceans are trapped under sheets of ice.

In fact, a new study in Geophysical Research Letters from mid-2016 says tiny Enceladus

might have a rocky core, internal ocean, and ice shell!

Using data from the Cassini probe, and seven years of observations, scientists believe

under a (max) 22 kilometer-thick icy shell sits a salty water ocean!

(Another paper says max 70 kilometers!).

They discovered this by looking at the wobble of the moon as it orbits Saturn.

As the moon zoom the planet, the scientists realized the planet's wobble (called a libration)

appeared to move in such a way that could only be explained if the icy surface wasn't

connected to its core!

It's almost as if the moon is sloshing like a milk jug or bowl full of water!

That's so COOL.

Not so cool that the ocean inside is frozen through though, which is weird.

Out of the southern hemisphere of the moon, scientists spotted over 100 "warm" geysers,

so they flew Cassini through them to sample the mist -- it's super salty WATER!

Here on Earth (the only model we have to go by) life in the open ocean is rare -- so we

don't yet know if there's life under these icy sheets…

We'll have to design another probe to scoop up the geyser mists without smashing any possible

life that exists inside!

But even with Enceladus' ocean, Europa is far more intriguing.

Europa is slightly smaller than our moon, but larger than Pluto, and NASA believes Europa

has, like Earth, an iron core, a rocky mantle, and a rocky "surface"… and on top of

that rocky "surface"?

An ocean of salty water!

Unlike Earth, but like Enceladus, Europa also has a frozen icy crust and may have salty

water jets.

The reason Europa is more intriguing than Enceladus?

Life needs three things: energy, water, and heat.

In another study in Geophysical Research Letters, scientists from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory

think judging by Europa's neighbor Io, volcanic activity may exist inside the icy crust of

the moon.

If so, it may mean both heat and nutrients exist where the rocky crust meets the water

and there might be what's called a redox reaction -- or reduction and oxidation; a

chemical process that is similar to what we have on Earth.

If this holds true, then the volcanic activity brings heat and minerals and, of course, there's

water…

SO.

LIFE, MOFO DO YOU SPEAK IT!

Europa, just might.

Look, it's actually easier to launch a probe to a moon in the outer solar system, or point

telescopes like the Hubble at a tiny moon than it is to brave the depths of our own

oceans.

It seems to me, the more we learn about these other moons (and exoplanets!) the more likely

we'll understand oceans in general, and hopefully we can infer more about our own

in the process.

What's the difference between a moon and a planet right?

Is there one?

Amy has the breakdown for you in this video here.

Would you visit a moon?

Which one?

Ours?

Europa?

Phobos?

What's your fav?

Can I talk to you ?

You really seem to be preoccupied. What's wrong ?

Well, I.. it would sound insane saying it out loud but...

You know, as long as I keep it in my mind, it doesn't really exist

No, really, what is it ?

Well... Did you... Did you ever have this feeling that, something, is sticking to you, wherever you go

and whatever you do, even if you can't see it ?

Oh, I see …

You know, there are things in this world that we can't see, but they exist and we do feel them.

See the wind ? We can't deny the fact that it exists, but we can never see it or touch it.

Maybe you're right.

Maybe, this feeling will go away by itself …

Stunning Video Game Graphics With Voxel Cone Tracing | Two Minute Papers - Duration: 4:28.

Dear Fellow Scholars, this is Two Minute Papers with Károly Zsolnai-Fehér.

I consider this one to be one of the most influential papers in the field of light transport.

Normally, to create a photorealistic image, we have to create a digital copy of a scene,

and simulate the paths of millions of light rays between the camera and the light sources.

This is a very laborious task that usually takes from minutes to hours on a complex scene,

noting that there are many well-known corner cases that can take up to days as well.

As the rays of light can bounce around potentially indefinitely, and if we add that realistic

materials and detailed scene geometry descriptions are not easy to handle mathematically, it

is easy to see why this is a notoriously difficult problem.

Simulating light transport in real time has been an enduring problem and is still not

solved completely for every possible material model and light transport effect.

However, Voxel Cone Tracing is as good of a solution as one can wish for at the moment.

The original formulation of the problem is continuous, which means that rays of light

can bounce around in infinitely many directions and the entirety of this digital world is

considered to be a continuum.

If we look at the mathematical formulation, we see infinities everywhere we look.

If you would like to learn more about this, I am holding a Master-level course at the

Technical University of Vienna, the entirety of which is available on YouTube.

As always, the link is available in the video description for the more curious Fellow Scholars

out there.

If we try to approximate this continuous representation with tiny tiny cubes, we get a version of

the problem that is much less complex, and easier to tackle.

If we do this well, we can make it adaptive, which means that these cubes are smaller where

there is a lot of information so we don't lose out on many details.

This data structure we call a sparse voxel octree.

For such a solution, mathematicians like to say that this technique works on a discretized

version of the continuous problem.

And since we're solving a vastly simplified version of the problem, the question is always

whether this way we can remain true to the original solution.

And the results show beauty unlike anything we've seen in computer game graphics.

Just look at this absolutely amazing footage.

Ice cream for my eyes.

And all this runs in real time on your consumer graphics card.

Imagine this in the virtual reality applications of the future.

My goodness.

I've chosen the absolute best profession.

Also, this technique maps really well to the graphical card and is already implemented

in Unreal Engine 4 and NVIDIA has a framework, GameWorks, where they are experimenting with

this in their project by the name VXGI.

I had a very pleasant visit at NVIDIA's GameWorks lab in Switzerland not so long ago, friendly

greetings to all the great and fun people in the team!

Some kinks still have to be worked out.

For instance, there are still issues with light leaking through thin objects.

Beyond that, the implementation of this algorithm contains a multitude of tiny little distinct

elements.

It is indeed true that many of the elements are puzzle pieces that are interchangeable

and can be implemented in a number of different ways, and that's likely one of the reasons

why NVIDIA and others are still preparing their implementation for widespread industry

use.

Soon, we'll be able to solidify the details some more and see what the best practices

are.

I cannot wait to see this technique appear in the video games of the future.

Note that this, and future episodes will be available in 4K resolution for a significant

bump in the visual quality of the series.

It takes a ton of resources to produce these videos, but it's now possible through the

support of you Fellow Scholars on Patreon.

There is a more detailed write-up on that, I've included it in the video description.

Thank you so much for supporting the show throughout 2016, and looking forward to continuing

our journey together in 2017!

Thanks for watching and for your generous support, and I'll see you next time!

Sonic® | Lil' Grillers™ | Lil' Patty & Lil' Chickie Griller Reviews! Peep THIS Out! 🍞 🧀 - Duration: 5:03.

YouTube and social media peep this out guys

It's Ian K back again with another one for you

here at sonic America's driving to take

a look at a couple of selections off of

their all new little grillers menu and i

gotta say if you guys love grilled

cheese as much as I do you're probably

gonna want to check this out

that's right guys sonic is covering

their bases with five different flavors

of these little girls available right

now and of course starting off with the

grilled cheese that we would all expect

you've also got some breakfast options

that include a bacon egg and cheese and

a sausage egg and cheese variant and the

two that we're going to be looking at

today actually the little chickie and a

little patty grillers so let's see what

these two have to offer by getting up

close on before taking that first bite

let's keep this out

it's onyx little spin on grilled cheese

with the release of their all new

limited time only little grillers menu

and here's a couple of selections off of

it for you guys the little chickie and a

little patty both looking to deliver

some tasty flavor starting off with a

little chicky we've got some toasted

sourdough bread housing a nice crispy

piece of all white meat chicken right

here in the middle topped off with some

buffalo sauce and plenty of american

cheese top and bottom melted up very

nicely the little patio grill gets that

same toasted sourdough bread action but

in this case you're getting a

100-percent all-beef patty topped off

with ketchup and more of that cheese top

and bottom so they go guys two

selections off of the all-new little

grillers menu here at sonic let's be

about this flavor

I'm definitely taking a presentation

with his little many hotdogs trays born

delicious we are going to soon find out

here we're going to start off with a

little chicky first I do have to say I'm

getting a little bit about the get vibe

your guys these are very very thin but

thick as you can see here let's just

give this to go the little chicky

griller over here at sonic

definitely thick and just a little over

fried on the meat on this one I do have

to say I'm not really getting a grilled

cheese vibe I'm getting a lot of fried

chicken tastes but it's overly fri

that's the only thing but i do have to

say the buffalo sauce on this is adding

a nice kick

I'm really not tasting too much cheese

go let's try again the buffalo sauce is

overtaking this whole thing and again

the chicken is super crispy on this one

almost to a fault as you can see they

don't skimp on the amount of chicken

that you get in this little griller

because the width is definitely small

but the link that's pretty decent on it

the only problem with this version of it

is the buffalo sauce is completely

killing any grilled cheese flavor that

you would expect from this aside from

the chicken itself is being really

really overcooked there it's definitely

a hearty buy it but I gotta say that

cheese is really just for show on this

one guys it really is because it is

really not coming through it all it's

really just a buffalo chicken tender on

the inside of some pretty thick

sourdough bread

yeah this is the buffalo chicken party

pretty much it guys are getting a nice

thick piece of bread to go around a very

very drenched piece of crispy golden

chicken here topped off with that

buffalo sauce but again

grill cheese this is definitely not bomb

sex if your face scale of 1 to 10 I'm

gonna go 6 out of 10 on this one perhaps

of the buffalo sauce was dialed back

just a little bit maybe a little bit

more cheese to make this one pop a

little bit more and be a little bit

better but as it stands if you like

buffalo sauce you're probably gonna like

this just don't expect the taste the

cheese too much in this one

alright i'm really hoping this was gonna

be a little better i'm already getting a

very nice beefy Roman my car right now

let's give this one a shot the little

patty griller

mmm yeah this is the one you know I

gotta say I'm not really a fan of

ketchup on my grilled cheese sandwiches

there i'd never have it that way but

because of the meeting here it actually

works because of that combo together

very very juicy meat on this one and i

do have to say that she's is coming

through a lot more only because ketchup

is not nearly as strong as buffalo sauce

obviously but this is pretty tasty

mmm the beef has a nice juicy quality to

it although it's not overly thick like a

little chicky very and this one actually

has a little bit more of an authentic

grilled cheese flavor with some nice

beefiness to go with it

that's in addition to the catch it being

on here which surprisingly doesn't

overtake it too much so for my money

this one definitely works because it

really does taste like a sourdough

grilled cheese sandwiches just with a

nice juicy beef patty in the middle

yep this one is definitely worth it so

on that bomb sexy if your face scale of

one to ten the little patty grillers

gonna get an easy eight out of 10 it's

pretty much a slider rest little

cheeseburger with a little bit more

cheese on it to give you more of that

grilled cheese flavor with a little bit

of catching that doesn't take too much

away from the cheesy pop that you get

from this one

add some onions to the mix and it's the

straight-up mini patty melt but of

course that's just my opinion as always

if any of you guys have already been a

sonic and you've tried any of these

little grillers what did you guys

personally think what they worth the

money and if you tried any of the

breakfast variations how awesome where

those drop a comment down below

definitely let me know and that's it for

now gang this is the Ian K closing out

another episode of peep this out here at

sonic America's drive in taking a look

at a couple of flavors off with their

all new little grillers menu sonics

little spin on grilled cheese guys if

you haven't already please like share

Hi, I'm Kris.

Throughout the year I'm going to present a series of songs

sometimes by myself and sometimes with guests and in different settings called

Anthems for Assholes and Humans Hopefully, you're one of those people and

you'll find something you identify with this is the first song

it's called, "I'm Terrified"

I'm terrified

And I'm frightened

I need someone to scratch my head

Or I don't think I'll ever sleep again

I'm so lost

And it's so cold And I'm alone

Why...

Can't I...

Breathe anymore

I need to breathe Breathe

Breathe... Breathe...

Breathe... Breathe... Breathe...

(anxious breathing)

Breathe That was I'm terrified.

Please continue to join me for Anthems for Assholes and Humans throughout the year.

I'll be back next week.

Thanks very much.

What are YOUR 2017 FITNESS GOALS? - Duration: 2:21.

Hey guys, Manuel here from Tykato Fitness.

If you don't have goals for 2017 yet - fitness goals - you should set some right now.

For me personally i set three different kind of goals: flexibility goal, endurance goal

and a strength goal.

That's enough for me but you can set any goal you want but set one.

When you set a goal, take one that's achievable.

So if you're a beginner don't set planche as your year's goal.

You won't get that.

Set a time, for example a hold time or a rep number that you want to achieve.

For example one pull up by the end of 2017.

So also set a time when to achieve it. Okay?

Those are S.M.A.R.T. goals.

Don't just say 'i wanna get fit'.

That's a wishy-washy goal.

You could say 'i wanna lose five kilos by the end of 2017'.

That's a smart goal!

Or 'i want to lower my bodyfat percentage' and so on.

So find your goal for you.

If you would like to copy my system take a flexibility goal, a strength goal and an endurance goal.

For me those are the side splits.

As you can see here i'm close to them.

I want to achieve a one second side split on the floor with my ass on the floor by the

end of 2017.

My endurance goal is climbing.

Climb the whole parcours from orange difficulty in my climbing gym - about 20 boulders - within

one day at the same visit in the gym, by the end of 2017.

And my strength goal is one repetition with 50 kilograms added. A pull up. Okay?

So, 50 kilogram pull up by the end of the year.

Now it's your turn!

Take a piece of paper, take a pen, and write down your goals.

Pin them to the wall or to the refridgerator where you can see them.

Think for a bit and we'll see each other at the end of the year and you can tell me if

you achieved your goals. I will tell you if i achieved mine.

Write your goals into the comments.

I would love to read them and see you guys next time on Tykato Fitness. Goodbye!

Being A Small Youtuber ... - Duration: 2:10.

Okay so, I started Youtube maybe 2 years ago, yeah long time right, and I never thought

I would actually become what is now called a "Youtube Animator".

To be completely honest I'm not sure If even qualify to be a "Youtuber."

I'm very inconsistent and change my content more than a politician who is caught between

two lies.

And the scary thing it seems to be harder and harder for smaller youtuber to grow the

bigger youtube grows.

my videos getting demonized left and right and views are steadily declining.

It seems to me Youtube is beginning to become a brutal world to be apart of.

and to be honest I haven't made that much money off of youtube and that's okay I love

making youtube videos, but it wouldn't hurt if I made a little more so I can take care

of Craig.

my name is Greg Shut up, Craig !!!

You know what really grinds my gears.it's when Big and mighty youtube comes in and says

" I don't like your content so we will take the money away, we want our advertisers

to be happy"

and I guess that, okay, but your guidelines are kind of broad don't you think.

but this video isn't to ramble about all the negatives of youtube, even though through

out the whole videos i made it ver clear how I don't like where its going, but its still

the best at what it does so can i really complain .

Anyways being a youtuber is often quite fun.

so If you ever felt like you should start a channel I suggest you do it now.

If you want a voice and you want it heard then as youtube use to say " broadcast yourself.

If you made it to the end of the video comment telling me if you've started youtube and

the struggles you have as a youtuber.

If you liked this video please leave a like and a comment, because youtube is apparently

broken. and I need more engagement.

byeeee.

Shop Update & Breadboard Ends January 4th 2017 - Duration: 11:29.

And that pretty much explains about how much I've gotten done this week.

I did get started on the other breadboard end, which I'm getting ready to show you.

I got the mortises started in it but I had to stop......

and really haven't been able to get back out there to it. Either work or.....

rain. So.......

Coming up you'll see where I started drilling the holes for that mortise. I've already.....

recorded me doing this on the other breadboard.

But this time I decided I'd just kinda go through and explain what I'm doing.

And toward the end of the video I'll show you a picture of.....

what I intend to do in next weeks video. So....

God willing and the creek don't rise if ya know what I'm saying.

Anyway, let's get started on this.

P.S. I hope everybody had a great new year.

Let's go do it.

I'm going to have some problems with this area a little bit later.

Partly because it's a knot, but mostly because I didn't realize how dull my chisels had gotten since doing the other breadbord end.

I would have saved myself a lot of stress had I just took a little time to sharpen my chisels before I started on this one.

Now I'm just going to use the ice pick as an awl and make some holes to start my Forstner bit in.

This will help me place the point of the bit closer to the center of the mortise a lot easier.

Then I just started removing some of the waste by drilling the holes.

It would be easier with a drill press,

but in my situation I just tried to hold the hand held drill as straight as I could.

The forstner bit could be a little difficult to get back out of the wood,

so I'm only drilling part way down.

I removed most of the waste with the mallet and chisel, then repeated until I got to the depth I wanted.

I did this for each mortise that would be deeper than the groove that runs the length of the breadboard.

I placed the breadboard I already have done beside the one I'm working on so you can see what I'm going for.

I started chiseling inside the line. I'll come back and sneak up to the line after I have the depth I want.

I just worked my way down with the chisel removing waste.

And here is what happened with the knot.

It was more a matter of my chisel being dull than anything else.

This caused me to have to use more force than I normally would need to and this is the result.

I'll be careful and try to keep it together. I'll come back with epoxy and try to repair it later.

Okay, what I'll do is, when I get these mortises to the depth I want....

like those are.

On the one that I've already done.

I'll come in with the tenon saw.....

and cut just inside the lines here.

And take a chisel and clear that out to this depth.

And then, once I get the tenons cut on the end of the table.....

these will slide on there like that.

This is not the actual table, this is just a......

displaying... example uhhhh... yeah

It's not the actual table top. I'm just trying to show you what my plan is.

What's going on in my mind.

And that's a dangerous place to be trying to tell you about things... yes.. yes it is. Yes it is.

It's dangerous up in there. Trust me.

Like I said, hopefully I'll get on that this coming week. Hopefully the rain will let up a little wit....bit.

Little wit? Bit.. wit... uhh yeah....

For a little bit. Otherwise I might need to start building an ark.

It's not real heavy rain. Just that......

long drizzly steady rain that just keeps you from getting outside and doing anything.

Well... unless you just want to get wet and catch pneumonia cause it is January...

I mean... not really cold but it's.....

cold rain. You know what I'm talking about.

Anyway.... Thank you for watching. uhhhh.....

If you'd like to help me bring better video... better projects to ya.

Please......

uhhh....

check out the fan funding thingy up there.

All my instargram links, facebook......

twitter, all that's down in the description.

My email if you want to get a hold of me.

Coming up here in a few seconds toward the end of this video, there will be a little......

round thing with me in it.

where you can subscribe to me. And I would greatly appreciate it if you did.

Thank you very much.

In the meantime, have a lovely day.

Have a lovely night.

Have a lovely twenty seventeen. Make it wonderful.

Have a lovely life. Because life is short and it's meant to be enjoyed. Peace!

2015-2017 Mustang Ford Performance 6-Speed Shift Knob (GT, EcoBoost, V6) Review & Install - Duration: 4:13.

Hey, what's going on, guys?

Adam here with americanmuscle.com.

Today, I'm bringing you a quick overview and installation of the Ford Performance six-speed

shift knob in black with the Ford Racing logo engraved in the side here, which shall be

fitting all 2015 and newer GT, V6, and EcoBoost Mustangs.

So in this video, we'll be going over the styling and appearance you can expect out

of the Ford Performance six-speed shift knob we have here today as well as its materials

and construction.

I'll be topping off the video with the install, which, of course, speaking of a shift knob,

it's gonna get a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, with just a few minutes,

tops, in the driveway at home.

The Ford Performance six-speed shift knob you see here today in black will be for any

2015 or newer GT, V6, or EcoBoost Mustang owner who's looking to stray away from the

factory-style shift knob to go with a more classic eight-ball styling with a bit of a

customized twist, as you can see with the Ford Racing oval logo engraved right into

the side here.

Now, it's evident to see that Ford, when designing the S550 Mustangs when they first started,

obviously went with a very classic, fastback styling to the appearance.

Now, you might be looking to compliment that with your interior.

And if so, this shift knob is a very, very good place to start.

Now, speaking of which, you might be looking at switching over from the factory-style shift

knob to a classic eight-ball styling or cue-ball styling of the shift knob way back from the

'60s and '70s.

Now, with that said, we've got this one here from Ford Performance with the Ford Racing

logo actually engraved into the side here.

You got an all-black shift knob with the six-speed pattern and, of course, keeping up with that

reverse lockout situation.

So all of this is engraved in white on top of a black resin, which I'll talk about in

just a second.

Now, of course, when you're shopping around for a shift knob for an S550, like I just

said, you have to be mindful of the reverse lockout.

Now, with that said, Ford Performance has designed this one perfectly to work in conjunction

with your factory reverse lockout, so you don't have to replace anything there.

That way, it won't leave an ugly gap in between the top of your shift boot and the bottom

of your shift knob.

As a Mustang owner, you're probably banging through gears every single day in your Mustang,

like we all always do.

With that said, you wanna have a tough shift knob behind that and, of course, a shifter

as well that can take that beating constantly.

Now, this one in particular from Ford Racing is a one and three quarters in shift knob

that is CNC-machined out of a solid block of black resin with the six-speed embossed

logo right on top here and a Ford Racing logo on either side.

One thing I wanna point out before moving on to the pricing and install, I said this

option from Ford Performance was manufactured to fit the sizing specs of a stock shifter

on the S550s.

If you're rocking an aftermarket shifter, you wanna make sure it matches the thread

pattern on the shift knob, which is gonna be 12 millimeters by one and a quarter inches.

Now, if it's not matching that, then, unfortunately, this particular shift knob won't be for you.

But if it is, this should be a perfect match.

Now, if you are interested in the black option here we have with the white leathering and

the white Ford Racing logo, you can pick this one up for just about 60 bucks.

If you're not interested in this option, we have a ton of shifters on the market on americanmuscle.com

to fit the S550 shifters and, of course, aftermarket shifters as well.

But if you are interested, 60 bucks is the price tag.

And, of course, you get a very solid shift knob with a flat bottom to fit that reverse

lockout, Ford Racing logo on either side with the six-speed pattern in white on top of a

black finish.

You can also get it in the white finish with the reverse, of course, with black lettering.

Of course, there's a bunch of different options available, so you can check that out when

you're shopping around.

Shifting gears over to the install portion of the video, pun intended, this one's really

gonna be very simple.

It's obviously a shift knob.

All you'll have to do is screw off your factory shift knob, set it aside, replace it with

the Ford Performance option.

It should take you seconds to install.

You can even do it at a red light if you feel like swapping it out mid-driving session.

With that said, a few seconds on the install, one out of three wrenches on our difficulty

meter, so it's gonna be extremely simple for anybody to take care of.

Wrapping things up here for this overview and install, if you're the owner of a 2015

or newer GT, V6, or EcoBoost Mustang and you're looking for a way to get rid of the factory

shift knob to switch it out for a classic eight-ball styling with a very well-known

logo on it, you might wanna check out the Ford Performance six-speed shift knob in black

with the Ford Racing logo embedded in it, which is available right here at americanmuscle.com.

4 Questions That Will Make You Question Reality - Duration: 13:39.

Reality - what does that word mean to you?

Does it refer to your everydayexistence?

Is it something which is tangible and to be experienced?

Or is reality something else entirely?

Is it a virtual construct of our overly excited monkey minds?

Let's find out shall we, in our video which asks four questions that will make you question

reality.

Number 4: Who are you?

The field of neuroscience has been described as the last frontier in science, and although

it is still in its infancy, we are beginning to understand more about the human brain than

ever before.

But when humanity unravels the complex processes behind consciousness, decision making and

behaviours, what does this mean for our sense of self?

Beneath every single thought you've ever had, every single dream you've experienced, every

action you've ever performed, there is a chemical process responsible for it.

We seek out certain foods and sex because too little dopamine makes us depressed, yet

too much causes addiction to the action which generated it in the first place.

Glutamate helps us learn and retain memory, but this can make us agitated in high doses.

And high-levels of HVA, which is produced when dopamine is broken down, are now thought

to be one of the major causes of psychopathic behaviour.

Everyone's brain contains a different balance of these chemicals, and a variety of factors

can influence the exact composition of your brain.

The nature versus nurture debate is still trying to figure out whether such compositions

are genetically pre-determined or affected by our experiences.

But, one interesting crossover between the two has even discovered that historical trauma

experienced by your ancestors can affect their offspring's genetic makeup, meaning that nature

and nurture may be inseparably intertwined after all.

But regardless of which has the most influence, when we further understand how and why these

factors affect the human mind we'll reach a crucial moment in history.

Because then, we can begin controlling our brains to a more advanced degree than we do

today, and when this happens, does the idea of a personality go straight out the window?

After all, couldn't we simply manipulate the mind of an anxious person to create a more

affable, comedic personality type?

What about that jerkoff neighbour who never says hello when you pass him in the street?

Surely he could be fixed to make him a tad jollier?

And what would it mean to be fixed?

What are the most desirable personality types?

A workaholic isn't always a good thing.

Being forthright isn't always a bad thing.

Without sadness, we'd lose many great works of art.

Without psychopaths where would the horror movie industry be?

Which personality types are the right ones?

Obviously, if we could choose, we'd want to do away with the most destructivepeersonalities,

and this means we could end up ridding the world of dangerous criminals, or at least

reducing their numbers.

But how far do you go with this?

Where is the cut-off point between a good personality and a bad personality?

And who gets to decide?

But to return to the initial question of the reality of the human self, we have to ask

a question which seems less hypothetical by the day.

If our brains can be so easily manipulated, as we've seen it can be through electric pulses

and chemical treatments, then who is the true you?

Behind all these chemicals and your genetically inherited makeup, what is your real personality

type?

Is there even such a thing as a real you?

When you consider the fact that 95% of human decisions are made subconsciously, and the

rest are so clearly affected by exterior forces, the idea of free will becomes a little less

believable.

As does the notion that you, me, your aunt Sally and your best friend Steve possesses

anything close to what could be called a definitive, individual personality.

So the question who we really are inside may not have a fixed answer.

Number 3: Why is my reality the right reality?

As well as forming a personality type out of a random assortment of chemicals, the human

brain is also capable of creating its own subjective social realities, by perceiving

events and individuals in a way which pleases it the most.

This is why some people dislike certain religious groups, and others think they're hunky dory.

It's why some are in favour of gay marriage, and others believe it causes hurricanes.

Humans create their own social realities every single day thanks to some influential psychological

quirks known as cognitive biases.

Cognitive biases can make you warp facts and twist knowledge into your own version of reality,

and there are many stark examples of this to be found in everyday life.

The framing effect describes how humans react to certain choices when presented with either

a loss or a gain, and more often than not humans are drawn more to a riskier option

if a negative frame is presented, with positive frames causing you to avoid risk.

This was demonstrated in the recent EU Referendum in the United Kingdom, where the Leave vote

won by 52% to 48% with a campaign based almost entirely on fear.

This is despite the fact that the Leave campaign was seen as risky, with no real plan in place

regarding how the UK would operate post-Brexit.

The positive benefits of leaving the EU were mentioned by those in favour of leaving, but

they took a back seat to claims that jobs, power and money would be lost if Britain did

not depart the European Union.

This campaign won, albeit by a slim margin, yet such a closely run result clearly demonstrates

how some people can view the same concept under similar circumstances, and still come

out with entirely different viewpoints.

Obviously, you have to take a person's life experiences, circle of friends and media influence

into account.

But each of these comes with inbuilt biases too; including cognitive bias, which makes

you seek out information to back up your current opinions, and illusory correlation, which

makes humans perceive a relationship between two unrelated events.

There's that gay hurricane thing again.

And even though some things are easy to prove and disprove, other situations are a little

more complex.

Today you've got people arguing whether the gender pay gap exists, whether there are too

many welfare spongers, and whether micro-aggressions are the worst form of racism ever.

Who is to say which reality is the truth?

Is this even measurable?

Can anyone objectively analyse someone else's social reality?

Or do we all live in our own permanent social reality, one which is impenetrable to anyone

but ourselves?

Number 2: How the heck am I alive?

This next entry is a little lighter than the rest because my brain is tired and I'm trying

to figure out how biased and racist all my relatives were over Christmas.

But have you ever considered the astonishing reality of how you exist through everyday

life?

How complex it is.

How you've even survived the last 24 hours, let alone made it to whatever age you are

now?

Let's start with the past five minutes.

If you went to take a whiz, you could've slipped and cracked your skull upon on a wet floor.

Ten minutes ago you could've plugged in a toaster, only to be killed by the faulty wiring

some poor Chinese kid botched because his lunch break was about to start.

And how the bejesus did any of you survive the commute this morning?

Think about your route to work people.

If you're a driver you've just hurtled down the highway in a two-tonne metal can filled

with explosive liquid, entrusting your life to all the people who designed and built the

vehicle you were in, the road you drove on and the stop signs directing traffic.

You also had to trust yourself not to have a lapse in concentration or a mental breakdown

while in control of your vehicle, while also relying on thousands of other psychotic, hairless

over-caffeinated apes in motorised bomb-carts to do the same.

This pyramid of responsibility underpins our entire reality.

Every day we place our lives into the hands of thousands of others who have enabled not

only the existence of our world today, but also the worlds which kept our parents, grandparents

and ancestors safe too.

If Mitochondrial Eve had decided it was a good idea to poke a prehistoric bear with

a stick just for fun one afternoon, your bloodline and that of everyone today could've been snuffed

out before humanity even left the caves.

If you sit back and look at all the things that could've gone wrong in human history,

it makes no sense that you, I or anyone gets to experience reality today.

The sheer number of minute decisions taken to get you here is astonishing, and that's

before we even consider all the random occurrences and the junk going on in your body which needs

to work right just to keep you in good working order.

Ah well, it's a good job that none of this is real, probably.

Number 1: Is this all a game?

Elon Musk knows a thing or two about technology, at least I hope he does; has anyone actually

looked inside a Space-X rocket or a Tesla car?

There could be just a bunch of cats taped together in there for all we know.

But let's assume for a moment that Elon does know what he's talking about and that he understands

the potential for technology to change and manipulate our lives.

Does this mean he might be right when he says humanity almost certainly lives inside a simulation?

Are we the playthings of a superior race?

Have they seen and influenced all the weird stuff I've been doing when I thought nobody

was watching?

This theory originated in the first millennium, with ancient Indian and Chinese philosophies

first posing the question.

However, interest in the idea of simulated existence has increased recently, due to the

progress humanity has made in the field of virtual reality.

Just a few decades ago we were taking control of a yellow, pixelated ball to escape the

attentions of equally pixelated multi-coloured ghosts.

But today, we're on the cusp of creating fully-immersible three-dimensional environments, so is it really

so hard to believe that one-day virtual reality could become indistinguishable from real life?

The technology either does or will shortly exist that can create images with a higher

resolution than the human eye, audio with more depth than our ears can comprehend, and

sensations which feel as though you're actually putting your hand into a moist bowl of tapioca

pudding.

So if we continue on this technological trajectory, will we one day create a virtual reality so

believable, that someone could be born inside it with a conscious mind, and remain unaware

of true reality throughout their entire lives?

Musk believes so, as he feels that because humanity has the potential to one day create

advanced simulations, it is therefore almost inconceivable that we ourselves

are not living inside a reality created by a superior race because it's highly unlikely

that we were the first to achieve this.

In fact, he pegs our chances of being at the top of this virtual reality food-chain at

one in billions, and I do not like those odds at all.

This theory is now a genuine field of scientific inquiry, and the US Department of Energy's

Fermilab has undertaken a number of experiments whose results have been so far inconclusive.

But while some proponents of simulated existence are worrying that we could be approaching

the point where our simulation is turned off, due to our current technological advancements,

Elon Musk is a little more blasé about the situation.

He's discussed this topic at length, so much so that Musk and his brother have agreed that

whenever they're in a hot tub together, they will not talk about simulation theory, because

in his words, "it really kills the magic".

Wow.

I guess now we know why Elon wants a self-driving car; it's so he can feel up his siblings in

the back seat.

And that's our list.

Has this video collapsed your brain into a pile of useless goop?

Are you now so entrenched in misanthropic existentialism that you just want to stay

inside and forget the world exists?

Super.

While you're doing that please watch our recent video on the most shocking acts of mother

nature.

There's a monkey war and everything.

change your life diet once again

sharing my weight loss tips with you so

you can lose weight fast

now today i want to talk about what is

the best substitute for sugar and not

only the best sugar substitute

substitute but really what is your only

option as a sugar replacement ok now we

all know that sugar gets you fat by now

everybody should know that not only that

you know if you could assume a lot of

sugar you might wind up getting type 2

diabetes so sugar is definitely not good

for you you should avoid it at all costs

not just for health reasons but for

weight loss reasons also so if you want

something you know sweet-tasting what

are your alternatives now all the other

stuff out there like aspartame saccarine

and sucralose you know the pink the blue

the yellow packets they're all chemicals

i mean my opinion and all that stuff is

is no good for you you know anything

that's created in the laboratory and and

and you have a minute manipulate the the

chemicals and the modeling structural to

make something sweet you know i would

just buy that in general you don't know

if that's going to give your cancer or

not this all this stuff online about

aspartame just avoided at all costs so

there is one option that you have and

that is stevia okay uh I know a lot of

people tell me yeah there's only like it

because the taste isn't so great or has

a little bitter aftertaste and they can

use get used to it well my answer to

that is you know if it's your only

option and the other alternatives are

you know either you get really fat you

get cancer or you get type of diabetes

you know what are you going to choose

ok going to choose to get cancer by you

know consumer chemicals and you know you

know toxic things are you just going to

try to eat something that's natural and

chemicals that tastes much better you

know but that's not good for years old

what i did i tried all those

friend brand you know I tried to do the

purevia truvia yeah I wasn't crazy

about it and it's annoying kind of

dealing with these little packets and I

found something called spoonable stevia

it's called stevia and actually find

found this online they sell it like

health food stores you can probably get

one of these big jugs for like you know

seventeen eighteen dollars you actually

scoop it out with a spoon like a human

being and not the windows those annoying

packets and I find the taste of that is

pretty good but in general you should

really get a custom to you know having

everything tastes sweet in your daily

you know eating eating life and another

good positive thing is that recently

starbucks came out with their own

they're starting to carry stevia in

their stores so what I used to do before

is actually carry on like a little

container with some of these stevia

packets in case i went to dunkin donuts

or starbucks and a cup of coffee but now

you don't have to you know Starbucks has

these has stevia now in their stores which

is a big thumbs up

awesome self and one more thing I want

to mention is that you know so yeah it

tastes so good

we're just deal with it it's the only

natural thing so you're actually gonna

live it help your life so you know deal

with it it's not you know the greatest

thing in the world on and one other

thing I i know a lot of people who you

know despite knowing all this that you

should avoid sugar should avoid all

these artificial sweeteners he'll tell

me we go out to eat and they're like you

know i'm going to die coke

I'm gonna order a diet coke or coke or

something and you know I don't hear it

just leaving all living all leave me

alone right now because they feel like

I'm going to die

bring out and it's very well if you want

to give yourself cancer go ahead

you know you want to eat and drink

ascertainable like winning when you know

that I mean I don't know why you

continue doing that hit you know some

people you just you know you can't argue

with them right so stevia is the way to

go it's your only option just get used

to it people
