Youtube daily report Oct 10 2018

What if there is no toilet when you're in a hurry?

Dangerous moment, something you should know,

Maybe you wanna konw how much did I spend the most.

I think I can summarize this video in one sentence.

DON'T DO IT ALONE

I had 7 week long solo road trip in the US

From NY to LA

If you do it alone, there are a lot more shortcomings

Let me talk about the price.

Start with rent car,

I rented a Accent of Hyundai

You can choose your insurance plan from 3 different options.

I chose only one of them.

It was around 30-33 $ a day

including insurance.

It was quite a good deal, I think.

But again, you have to pay all if you go alone.

1500$ in total.

So the total price start from 1500$+

when you add oil price, ......

for 7 weeks, I rode over 11,000km.

I only drove 1,000km before this

and I drove 11,00km in the US LOL

I tried not to spend over 100$ a day except rental fee.

But sometimes I only spent under 40$

and spent full 100$ on some days

Tips on accommodation,

airbnb is not you best option.

Most MYSTERIOUS Ancient Labyrinths Uncovered! - Duration: 14:33.

From lost Neolithic spiritual rituals to the location of the Minotaur's lair, here are

10 of the most mysterious ancient labyrinths uncovered….

10.

The Trolleborg Labyrinth

The island of Bla Jungfrun in Sweden has long been the subject of local folklore, with stories

of dark curses and witchcraft.

This places is spooky, and requires visitors to stick to the paths, and no one can visit

the island after dark.

There are a few unusual structures on the island that increases the mystery.

Translated as the Blue Maiden, the small island is only about 1 km (0.62 m) long but it is

an ominous place.

One of the features that stands out about this place is the stone walking labyrinth.

Known as the Trolleborg, it's the largest of its kind in Sweden, but still very little

is known about it.

It's not clear, for example, who built it or when- but the leading theory is that it

was built by fishermen of the island in the hopes of catching plentiful stocks.

According to local stories, anyone who removes stones from the labyrinth will be cursed forever.

It is believed it was used for rituals in ancient times and the good news is that if

you walk IN it, and don't take anything, you supposedly get good luck.

There's still plenty to learn about Bla Jungfrun, and archaeologists are searching

across the island for more clues about who lived there, who created the numerous strange

structures that exist around the labyrinth, and whether there's truth to the stories

of dark magic taking place.

Those archaeologists better be careful about removing those stones!!

9.

The Parisian Catacombs

The ground beneath Paris, France, was formed by an ocean that once covered the country

45 million years ago.

The multiple layers of sediment left by the water became limestone, which itself is a

useful building material.

Since the Roman times, this limestone has been excavated to construct the city- leaving

a vast network of tunnels and quarries beneath the ground creating a kind of maze!

It's thought that, now, there are more than 200 miles of labyrinthine tunnels in the region,

and they have gone on to be used for a range of things- some of which are quite eerie.

The most famous of uses is the Parisian catacombs.

In the late 1700's a number of cemeteries in the city were flooded, and authorities

had to find an alternative place to store the bodies to prevent this becoming a public

health disaster.

Between 1786 and 1788, there were nightly processions that moved the remains into the

reinforced tunnels of these underground quarries, and the bones were arranged in the artistic

way that the place has become famous for.

The tunnels that are not a part of the catacombs haven't been reinforced in the same way, and

so access to them is now restricted.

This hasn't stopped secret societies, thieves, and artists from gaining access, though- many

of whom have found themselves lost for long periods of time within the dark, intertwining

tunnels.

No thanks!!

8.

The Lost Egyptian Labyrinth

You'll have heard of the great pyramids and the Sphinx, but possibly the greatest

building of the Egyptian empire that you've never heard of is the Egyptian Labyrinth.

Unless you've seen my video on Mysterious Things in Egypt That No One Can Explain of

course!!

It was spoken about by the 5th century BC Greek historian, Herodotus, who had seen the

building that was seven days journey up the Nile from the pyramids at Giza.

This temple was said to be divided into 12 courts, had walls covered in sculptures, and

was connected by an underground passage to a large pyramid.

Herodotus spoke of this place as way more an amazing and exciting sight than the great

pyramids themselves!

Only one other account of the labyrinth exists, from the 1st century BC, by the geographer

Strabo, and he said that it had many great courts, each of which had their own entrances,

and were connected by winding passages that ensured no stranger could find their way around

without a guide.

The lower levels were said to contain the sepulchres of those who built the great labyrinth,

and of sacred crocodiles.

The labyrinth was built almost 4,000 years ago, but unfortunately, it has not stood up

to the test of time.

Years of salvaging materials have meant that very little exists there, apart from stone

chips and evidence of what once stood there.

Some estimates have suggested that the building was as large as 1000 by 800 feet, which is

enormous- and would surely have been a world wonder.

And now for number 7, but first, I have a question for you!!

Where is the highest concentration of labyrinths in the world??

The answer is coming up!!

And if you are new here, be sure to hit that subscribe button and the bell so you never

miss out!!

7.

Underground Roman Labyrinth

Rome has been around for a loooong time!

Because it's such an ancient city, it'll be no surprise that archaeologists are often

making new discoveries all over the place.

The current Romans are quite annoyed at this since they've been trying to get a metro

for years.

But whenever they start making advances, new things come up and all work has to stop until

the archaeologists give it the green light...maybe 10 months later!

Besides all that, archaeologists, Historians and researchers aren't even trying to search

for hidden treasures, instead they are trying to save the city.

Deep beneath the streets and buildings is a vast labyrinth of tunnels that were first

constructed in the early days of the city.

They were originally dug to take out the volcanic sediment for the construction of buildings-

leaving this extensive network of passages, but they were also used to store valuable

artefacts or to hide important secrets.

Now, as time has passed, they have begun to lose their structural integrity and pose a

serious problem.

Every year there's almost 100 cases of street or building collapse where one of these tunnels

has fallen in on itself, and technology is being used to create 3D scans to understand

where inherent weaknesses lie.

Another benefit of this scanning technique is the discovery of previously unknown chambers

and passages, and researchers never know quite what they may find around the next turn.

Never a dull moment in Rome!

6.

Chartres Labyrinth

The cathedral of Chartres was built during the height of the gothic movement in France

and was designed to be higher, wider, and brighter than any others.

Construction began in 1194 and was completed in 1221- with the labyrinth being built in

the nave in the final 5 years.

It's not the most elaborate of labyrinths you'll see within a church, but it's definitely

one of the most famous in the world.

Fun Fact: A labyrinth is not the same as a maze but now we use them interchangeably.

A maze is confusing and you have to make decisions, whereas a labyrinth should be calm and relaxing

as you journey your way to the center.

In Cathedrals the labyrinth represents your spiritual journey as you follow the path.

It has rounded sides and eleven concentric circles.

It was the first of these types of labyrinth to be constructed, and any that were subsequently

built are known as a Chartres-type recreation.

Most labyrinths feature depictions from mythology, but curiously this one doesn't.

It's thought that it once did, though, with a large bronze plaque in the centre.

Some believe that this bronze was melted down in 1792 to be used in the creation of cannons

for the new republic, but no-one knows for sure.

What is certain is that the Chartres Labyrinth remains one of the most popular, and inspired

the construction of many more since.

Many labyrinths in churches have been destroyed or removed, making the one at Chartres even

more unique and valuable.

5.

Danish Stone Age Labyrinth

In 2017, Danish archaeologists announced the discovery of what appeared to be a stone age

labyrinth.

It was uncovered in Stevns, on the east coast of Denmark, when the foundations were being

laid for a new sports complex!

Now it has baffled those trying to understand its purpose.

Researchers found numerous flint flakes and axe shards surrounding the site, all of which

dated back to as far as 5,000 years ago in the Neolithic period.

The labyrinth itself covers an area of around 60,000 square feet and is made up of 5 different

rows of posts.

Each row has several openings in it, which has led researchers to believe that it's some

kind of defensive labyrinth- designed to slow down or confuse any unwelcome intruders.

This, of course, raises the question of what the builders of this structure wanted to protect,

and so far no clues have been found.

With no other artefacts being found other than a few tools, this labyrinths true purpose

may never be known- but it's still an important insight into the construction capabilities

of humans all that time ago!

4.

The City of Derinkuyu

The ancient underground city of Derinkuyu is an astonishing structure designed to confuse

and deter invaders to protect those that lived there.

It's one of the largest labyrinth designs ever made, and still holds secrets waiting

to be uncovered.

Located in Turkey, It is thought to have been built almost 3,000 years ago by the Phrygian

people, but subsequently enlarged by Christian residents to defend against all kinds of people

over the years, especially the Byzantines and later the Ottomans.

The unique geography of the region, because of volcanic sediments, meant that the ground

was much easier to cut into than normal.

The city goes about 250 feet deep into the earth over 18 levels of traps and wrong turns-

with enough space for 20,000 people to live behind its sealed stone doors for as long

as 4 months without needing further supplies.

Complete with boulder traps, spiked pits, and a number of other nasty surprises in wait

for those who weren't familiar with what they were walking into, Derinkuyu was vital

to the protection of the people who lived in the area at the time.

3.

Bara Imambara

Bara Imambara is a religious building in the city of Lucknow in India.

It was built by the ruler of the northern state of Awadh in 1784, and its name literally

means the 'big sacred hall'.

As well as the large central hall, the building is made up of a mosque and a large labyrinth,

which was built unintentionally as a way to support the larger building structure.

The labyrinth is quite easy to get lost in- there are almost a thousand different passageways-

most of which lead to other passageways, one of 489 identical doorways, or opening out

into windows that give glorious views across the gardens.

Locally there are many stories of people getting lost here for long periods of time, but there's

still great mystery surrounding the building as a whole.

It's also believed that there are secret tunnels leading to the nearby river, or even

to other cities in the region.

There are some entrances that have been blocked for safety purposes after people got lost

in the tunnels, so no-one is sure for certain where they lead.

Could it be, as is thought, that they lead to other places of importance to those who

built this place, or could there be further secrets and treasures to be discovered?

Anyone want to go with me and find out?

2.

The Stone Labyrinths of Bolshoi Zayatsky

So, where would you think the highest concentration of ancient labyrinths on the planet is?

The answer, perhaps surprisingly, is on a collection of small islands in Russia's White

Sea.

The Solovetsky Islands are home to 35 Neolithic labyrinths, dating back to around 3000 BC!!.

The most impressive are on Bolshoi Zayatsky.

They are very well preserved but researchers don't really know what they were for.

There are 14 in less than half a square mile.

These stone constructions were made by placing boulders onto the ground.

The smallest is 20 feet across, while the largest is more than 4 times that, at 83 feet

in diameter.

These boulders form spirals, with the entrances typically being on the south end of the designs.

They have, of course, become quite overgrown over time- but their distinctive shape is

still very clear.

There are two main theories as to the purpose of these labyrinths.

The first was that they were built to catch fish.

They would become trapped in the design as the water rose at high tide, and be easy to

retrieve once the waters receded.

The problem with this theory is that many labyrinths around the world are built inland,

so it would seem that there's another purpose for them.

Labyrinths are a common human experience, kind of like pyramids, and stories of floods!!

The second theory is that they could have been used as calendars because the lines seem

to follow the orbital path of the sun and moon.

The lack of consistent entrances to labyrinths, even in just the region of the White Sea,

makes this unlikely, however, and the mystery remains.

There are also hundred of piles of boulders on the island that contain bone fragments,

indicating there must be some relationship between spiritual beliefs and the labyrinth

and maybe, they represented the underworld.

1.

The Cretan Labyrinth

Of all the labyrinths in the world, undoubtedly the most famous is the one from Greek legend

that's located on the island of Crete… or is it?

According to the myth, this labyrinth was built for King Minos by his master craftsman,

Daedalus to contain the Minotaur monster, the child of his wife and a bull.

But that's a whole other story.

Daedalus was so cunning in the construction of the labyrinth that even he himself struggled

to leave it once he had finished.

King Minos lost his son to the Athenians and so as punishment, every year he demanded that

7 young men and 7 young women be sacrificed to the Minotaur.

Eventually, the monster was killed by Theseus, who used a ball of yarn given to him by his

love, to ensure he could escape at the end of his quest.

While the Greek myths are usually regarded as lessons and stories, there's evidence

to suggest that a labyrinth did indeed exist on Crete.

In fact, there are three sites that lay claim to being the true location of the legendary

labyrinth.

These three places have evidence of tunnels.

One is at the Minoan palaces in the city of Knossos, the second is in a town 20 miles

away called Gortyn, and the third potential site is not on Crete at all but on the Greek

mainland.

Everyone believed Knossos was the home of the legendary King Minos, but the site uncovered

at Gortyn has a network of interlocking tunnels and dead ends.

Did the labyrinth ever exist at all??

There's debate between scholars whether any of these are the labyrinth mentioned in

the myth, or whether they are a series of tunnels built for other purposes.

Perhaps the only way we'll know for sure is if the remains of the minotaur are found

hidden within the passages.

Thanks for watching!!

Anyone else think that labyrinths and mazes are kind of creepy?

I mean after watching Labyrinth, the Triwizard Maze from Harry Potter, Pan's Labyrinth,

and of course the story of the Minotaur are all so Dark!!

Anyway, remember to subscribe and I'll see you soon!!

Byeeee!!

Saying goodbye to the siren in the distance

My reflection flickering the longer I look

All eyes on me as I cleanse

The two of us concealing ourselves in perfume and jewelry

Bartering it all along the way

Getting lost while climbing into the maze of adulthood

The countdown is beginning

In the district of a restless night

All the girls in the movies murmuring "I couldn't care,"

While clinging on and not letting go

The voice lost in a distant memory

I'd reach out and forcibly push

Appearing as distorted as ever

Chasing after that which makes no sense

Even if I know that'll never change

Do you already have that which you desire?

I'm sure, that has to be it

I want to know how it really tastes

I want to know how it really feels

6… 5… 4…

I want to taste, just a little

I can't see...

The exit...

From Gaien Higashi Dori

Peeking through to the illumination

The disdain of its honesty

Hoping to find someone to blame

Take me far away, where I can't return

3… 2… 1…

3… 2… 1… Even if this is the end...

In the burning stardust

Let's get lost in the magic

Shall we get drunk off a cocktail?

Probably...

Probably... (Can't stop fall in love…)

It's when our fingertips touch

That sparks begin to fly

A kiss to seal the deal

Almost as if it vanished…

(Can't stop fall in love…)

You have children that I really--

I met once, but just in passing.

I've just seen them.

But I want to hear--

So we know they exist.

I know that they're real.

It's not just stories.

But tell what's happening with them and Halloween.

Do they like it?

And what are they dressing as?

Because--

They do like it.

You have to describe them briefly, because the younger

one is quite something.

Yeah.

I mean, they're both fantastic.

The older one--

Viv is definitely Ben.

She looks exactly like me and is Ben.

And then the younger one looks just like Ben it is me.

So the younger one is just always like, let's go.

Like, she's just like-- she's feisty.

And then--

And they're girls.

And they're girls.

They're very into Halloween and the debate

going into what was being made, because I still always want

to make their costumes.

So when they want something out of a bag, I'm like, no, like,

no.

And I'm the one whining.

So Viv is going--

which, way to ruin their Halloween, huh?

Yeah.

[LAUGHTER]

Viv is going as a--

I almost said porcupine-- as a cactus.

So she has a green sweatsuit.

And I've been sewing on pipe cleaners that

stick out all the way over.

Right?

That's good.

She's prickly.

And safer.

Prickly and safer.

[APPLAUSE]

And we're making a headband with cactuses up there.

And I may have found cactus shoes online.

I don't know.

And then Georgie is going as the big bad wolfette, which,

every time someone says, oh, the big bad wolf, she goes,

ette, ette.

She's a woman.

And--

[APPLAUSE]

--what my favorite-- right?

Good for her.

Good for her.

[APPLAUSE]

What I do love is that she put it all on.

It looks amazing.

It absolutely looks like she's in the touring cast of Cats.

Does she sing?

She does.

They're into dancing.

And she's very into, like, emoting things now.

So it's like, when she's singing, she's like--

[LAUGHTER]

And it's always like, don't look at me.

But then if you do look away, she's like, no.

You have to look.

At then she wants it.

But she'll be doing so much stuff that's like,

don't, I'm embarrassed.

Then I look away.

And she's like, you have to keep looking at me.

So it's like a real, I don't know where to look.

I'm averting my eyes, but I'm in trouble--

That's so cute.

--for averting my eyes.

But yeah.

And I think we're going to go out.

And we'll go out early, before it's all [INAUDIBLE]..

And you'll dress up also, you and Ben?

I think so.

Ben is going as his spirit animal, which is Bob Ross--

[LAUGHTER]

Oh my god.

--who he loves so much.

If you don't know who we're talking about,

you have Netflix.

Everyone should have Netflix because of my special

coming up.

But you should go on Netflix and look up

Bob Ross, because if you don't know who he is,

it is the most-- and you should have scotch

when you're watching him.

You really should.

Yeah, for sure.

You need a scotch.

And he just has this beautiful halo of--

which I found out later, I believe, was permed--

Oh, it wasn't natural.

--which made it so much better.

I was like, oh, it's tended to.

[LAUGHTER]

I absolutely love that.

And he paints and talks about happy trees.

And I think I'm going to go--

he and his wife befriended a squirrel.

So I believe I'm going as his friend squirrel--

I see.

--which, to me, makes perfect sense.

It does.

It makes perfect sense.

'Halloween' | Unscripted Overtime | Verse Vs. Versus - Duration: 1:29.

- Hi boys, you ready?

- Yes, we'll do a little...

- Hang on tight.

- We're gonna do a little improvising.

(rock music)

- I just want to discuss one generational thing

that has just occurred, with a question.

- Uh oh.

- I've now raised two children.

My daughter's 32, my son's 22.

I remember when my son, Tom,

was talking about a video game

and he said it was so and so verse so and so.

And I said, no it's not verse, Tom, it's verses.

He said no, it's verse.

I was like, Tom, it is not verse, it's verses.

And see, you just said verse, cause you're young

and I'm old cause it just said, you said whatever, verse.

You know, Michael Meyers verse Freddy or whatever.

- Is it verse, it's verses.

- It's verses but it's the modern, it's been...

- Accepted.

- It's been accepted, let's just get to a quick,

little test here in the room.

Seriously, who here says verse verses verses,

does any human being in this room?

Raise your hand if you do.

Verse?

- [Off Screen Cameramen] Verses.

- Verses.

- They all, everyone speaks English in this room.

- Okay, I'm just saying, David said verse.

- Did I say verse?

All right.

- Because you're young and...

- You're youthful.

- You're youthful, okay there was a curiosity.

That was the unscripted question.

- I like that, I like that unscripted.

Chef Twins in Bangkok - MIDNIGHT CRISPY PORK LEG + German Food at Michelin Star Restaurant Sühring! - Duration: 20:54.

- Hey everyone, I hope you're having

an amazing day or night,

It's Mark Wiens, I'm in Bangkok, Thailand

and I have a very special dinner tonight.

I'm eating at Suhring, which is one of the best

fine dining restaurants in Bangkok.

It's a Michelin star restaurant,

they are at the top of the list of

Asia's 50 Best Restaurants and they serve

contemporary, modern German food.

And so it has a very interesting story,

it's a restaurant that I've really been looking

forward to eating at and so I'm very happy

to try it, I'm also gonna be eating with Ying,

thanks for holding the light, by the way.

I'm excited for dinner tonight.

(light music)

You walk into the entrance of the restaurant

and it's a house, it's a compound, but it's a

beautiful compound, the tropical gardens.

We're gonna step inside.

(speaking foreign language)

- Mister Mark!

How are you tonight?

- [Mark] Thank you, very good, thank you very much.

- [Hostess] Welcome to Suhring.

- Hey Mark, nice to meet you, how are you?

Let me show you to the table.

- Thank you.

We're gonna be sitting in the kitchen area, right?

- Yes.

- Awesome!

Okay, to the kitchen room.

(speaking foreign language)

- Yeah.

- [Mark] Hi!

- Oh hey, how are you doing?

- [Mark] Very good, thank you very much.

Thank you.

- I look the same, but not him.

- [Mark] Nice to meet you!

- How are you doing?

Good.

Nice to have you tonight.

(laughing)

- Yeah different, okay.

- [Mark] Yes.

(laughing)

(mumbling)

They are twins.

I mean, not only are they brothers

that are passionate about food, but they're actually twins.

So that's amazing, they are both extremely friendly.

And they opened Suhring to really feature some of

their home flavors, German flavors.

Modern, contemporary German restaurant using lots of

local and seasonal ingredients.

Ah, oh yeah.

Really, really crisp.

So we're gonna be having the 12 course,

well, maybe even more than that, tasting menu.

Plus some extra dishes, special dishes from the twins.

First chapter is just the one-biters.

- [Waiter] We will start the experience with Storhappen.

- [Mark] Whoa.

- We are using the sturgeon, coming from the canal

in the north of Thailand.

It's smoked with apple wood and served

together with our own (speaks foreign language),

which is the German for bread.

- [Mark] Just that tiny, just the micro detail,

that tiny, tiny little herb or green on top.

Wow.

Mmm.

It's so smokey.

It just like,

it's like smokey and creamy and

has a little tiny

almost horseradish kind of taste to it

and then that caviar is just so silky smooth

and just so perfectly briny.

- All right, yeah?

- Awesome

- So, we are originally from Berlin.

- [Mark] Okay, the next bite is the Berliner

This is the next one-biter.

It's a little like a savory donut.

The mushroominess of that.

And so delicate with the umami mushroom,

with that truffle on the inside,

kinda creamy on the inside.

- Now we're serving you a Huehnchen Salat

as we call it, yeah.

Which is actually a very ordinary kind of chicken salad.

The chicken leg is cooked first and after

it is marinated we add a bit of mushroom also.

Then we have a little bit of mayonnaise also.

(mumbling)

(light music)

Then it's ready to serve,

it's going right to your table now.

- [Mark] Cool.

- [Chef] Are you ready?

- [Mark] I'm ready.

- Perfect, let's do this.

- Thank you.

And that one is going straight to our table.

- All right, so this is our variation of a chicken salad.

[Mark] The twins' version of a chicken salad.

It's like a little driplet.

But that's made, actually, from romaine lettuce

as well as the dressing, so that's the old combination.

It's like a little water balloon.

Whoa.

That is an explosion in your mouth!

And all the components of a chicken salad are there

in your mouth, just in different form and shape.

Ying was too curious, she had to press it.

(laughing)

- Mmm.

- Next course is salmon, cured salmon.

And then it's in a little egg basket there

some salmon roe, and again,

just the tiny, tiny pieces of dill.

Oh man.

Mmm.

Mmm.

That just purely melts in your mouth.

I gotta taste it with that cucumber water, I almost forgot.

(light music)

- So we are from Berlin, of course,

of these street food, actually, in Berlin, yeah.

It's a pork sausage actually, which is served

with ketchup and curry powder.

Currywurst you have to drink with the beer

and then you will fall in love, of course.

It comes actually from the time after the war

when British soldiers came to Berlin

and they bring the curry powder from India,

and then one lady mixed it up with ketchup

and then the currywurst.

We also give you a small beer

and usually you get it with french fries

so you're having a little bit of potato,

dried potato with a little bit of curry powder

and a little salt.

- [Mark] We're only getting through chapter one right now,

which is just the appetizers, just the small bites.

But part of the reason why Suhring is so,

such an amazing restaurant is because

it's so much fun, you know?

And you can tell that Thomas and Mathias

are having so much fun with what they do.

They're so creative,

and it's just happy.

Wow, yeah, that has an amazing bouncy texture to it.

Oh, that's delicious.

Mmm, the ketchup.

- [Ying] One, two, three, chink!

- Oh!

That's more like a lemon...

That's like a lemony freshness.

Mmm.

- But they say Entenleber in German.

It's a duck beaver, little foie gras, which we

marinate together with riesling Spatlese, so that

would be this one here.

Riesling Spatlese, it's a off-dry kind of riesling.

This one coming from the Mosel, so not too sweet,

just to cut right through the foie gras.

On top, you have a little bit of lemon gel.

Underneath is the (speaks foreign language),

which is a kind of German sweet toast,

and then in the glass you will find the wine again.

- Oh, almost forgot.

Wow!

That is just

like one of the creamiest things you could ever taste.

It's so creamy.

You taste the foie gras, but then it has this like

citrusy component to it.

- How's everything so far?

- [Mark] Very good.

- Appetizer we're having a frankfurter

grune sobe, which is an herb sauce originated

from the original Frankfurt, like the name says.

It's very traditionally done with seven different

kinds of herbs, and it's mixed with sour cream,

a little bit of mustard, salt, and pepper.

- [Mark] I don't even know how they piled

those up on there, that is construction.

And then it's the frankfurter with some kind

of a cream cheese and then the side is

a piece of eel which is smoked in house.

Oh, that is just, like, purely kinda squishy.

Mmm.

The eel has kind of a jelly texture to it.

Mmm.

Mashed potato and eel, just on a whole next level.

- Next is called (speaks foreign language),

which in German means bread time.

We also call it (speaks foreign language),

which means dinner bread.

Because.

For the bread we are also using our own

sourdough fermentation to bake the breads,

and the fermentation is over three years old.

It's actually only rice flour and water,

so we let it ferment outside

and then so it's three years old

we feed it every day with some flour and some water

and use it to bake the bread.

- It almost has like a hint of an onion taste to it.

I cannot resist that pork lard pate, though.

Oh, the pate is underneath there.

Okay, awesome.

Oh, look at that.

A nice thick, thick layer.

Oh, that spread is insane!

Oh, I love that black peppercorn in there.

That pate, though.

- This one you have what we call

the (speaks foreign language), it's a very famous dish

from the city of Leipzig that was created in the 1800s.

- There's asparagus and crayfish and then some morel powder.

When it's served, he sprinkled on

some of the crayfish butter.

What a gorgeous bouquet.

I'll just go in.

There are lots of ingredients in this.

Lots of different herbs.

I love that.

Oh, you can see kind of, is that a carrot?

I want to get, I think I'm gonna try to get

a little bit of everything.

Aww, there's the crayfish.

There's little herbs, there's all sorts of things.

Cut the crayfish in half, oh you can see the beautiful,

you can just see how creamy that is.

Get some of the asparagus too, of course.

The tip of the asparagus, the crayfish,

and then some of those herbs and the morel.

Oh, that crayfish.

So creamy and muscular.

Lightly sweet, kind of almost like a dressing,

which is the crayfish butter.

- Let me show you the main course before the main course.

(laughing)

So you have the duck.

It's a Hungarian duck which we age for seven days,

then it's roasted on the, the whole duck.

- So aromatic, the entire heads of garlic.

You can see the thyme, which is like charred,

it smells incredible, we're going to be eating this later.

Next course is Seabream, which is cooked German style.

There's lemon and there's parsley,

which is German preparation.

Dollop of caviar on top and then that sauce

with some little squares of potato in there.

The juiciness of it.

This one is impressive.

I think it's kind of foamy from that sauce.

It almost has like a mushroom taste to it.

And then that fish is just so juicy.

You've got that little bit of caviar

to give it that punch of saltiness.

- Doing now a German pasta.

- [Mark] All right.

- We call it Spatzle, which comes from Salz for Germany,

traditionally, and the Spatzle dough or the pasta dough

looks like that, so you see it's very sticky, actually.

In order to do a pasta out of it,

you put it on a cutting board and then we scrape it

into boiling water, so you get the shape of the pasta.

Frying some mushrooms.

Champignon mushrooms, locally sourced.

Put them in ice.

So you cook them a little bit

so it looks like that now, see?

It's all hand-shaped, so different shapes.

Then we put cheese, so we also have cheese from Germany,

from Salz, which goes on like this.

Little bit more sauce with it.

(light music)

It's eaten with crispy onion, so we will put it there

and we have some truffle from Australia,

which is the final touch.

- Rushing back for the pasta and then

just sprinkled it with that beautiful truffle.

That smells unbelievably good.

Okay, and I will kind of do the swirling method.

Oh yeah, but the noodles are kind of short

because they're hand cut so it's kinda hard to swirl,

you kinda gotta stab at the same time.

Oh, man.

Yeah.

It's so rich.

And that sauce is so fragrant with that truffle

and that mushroominess.

And then the noodles, they have this wonderful gummy,

yet firm texture.

The freshness shines.

So rich.

So good.

- You can choose your own knife.

Here I have a collaboration between Nesmuk and Suhring.

Ready?

Right then, so basically all the blades

are made in Germany, so they're technically the same.

But, the handles come from different continents.

- [Mark] I'll go with this one.

This looks like a perfect one right here.

That's a really nice touch.

Being able to choose your own duck knife.

- [Waiter] We have a Blaufrankisch from Burgenland

in Austria, so it Austria,

the same region as for the arranged wine.

- Of the main courses, this is the Hungarian duck breast.

So juicy and so beautiful, it's so pink in color,

served with assorted broccoli, there's broccoli flower

and then also a duck confit deep fried.

Oh wow, and just look at that skin.

Oh man.

Oh, that knife.

It's just balanced to perfection.

That knife just slides like butter.

Dip in that sauce a little bit.

So pink, it's almost like ham.

Completely infused with smoke.

That's a duck breast, but it's so juicy,

I mean it has the flavor of dark meat.

(light music)

You just wanna savor it.

Broccoli flower.

Deep fried little duck.

Mmm.

One more main course, oh.

Awesome.

We've already been eating for like 3 hours.

But they brought their signature,

which is German roast pork knuckle.

And this.

That aroma.

- You have to eat the whole one, right?

- We're gonna try, we're gonna try.

(laughing)

Yes.

(laughing)

- Big one for Ying and small one for Mark.

- [Mark] Oh, you can hear the crackling.

So do you eat this every day?

- [Chef] I do!

(laughing)

I do, actually!

- This is a dream come true,

a crispy fried pork leg at midnight!

The haminess of it.

What?

Can you hear the, yeah, you gotta kinda pick it up

with your finger, right?

Because it's so crispy.

It's almost uncuttable with a knife.

Yeah, let me just pick that up.

Whoa.

They're just like two completely different sections.

The meat is tender, and actually parts of the meat

are not that fatty.

But just embedded with smoke and just tender.

And then you've got that ridiculously crunchy,

creamy, almost gummy, like sticky from fattiness, skin.

Ooh.

- [Ying] Very good.

- [Mark] The dessert expert.

- It's very good.

- [Mark] Okay, take a bite.

- It's a mix of berries and then, yeah,

it's beautiful, it just looks so,

it looks like a patch of berries.

It's so berry-fresh and just the creaminess.

- This is the last dessert, basically,

so you're having a peach in different textures,

which we serve on top with a little bit

of cheese as a mousse.

- Oh, the peach just melts into the ice cream.

- [Waiter] A little, Sussigkeitenbox.

The passion fruit, here you go.

- [Mark] Thank you.

- [Waiter] Would you like something else?

This is what they call Eierlikor.

So that is a recipe that the grandmother

gave to the mother of the twins,

and then the mother gave it to the twins directly.

So older recipes are handwritten here.

And if we turn the pages, you can find,

just here, the Eierlikor.

So that's the exact recipe for what you are drinking here.

- [Mark] White chocolate passion fruit.

(light music)

Oh yeah.

You crunch through the white chocolate

and then you've got that waxiness

and then you've got almost like a passion fruit jam

on the inside.

A recipe from their grandmother,

it's a digestive type of egg nog.

Mmm.

It's really thick.

And then a little bit sticky, but you just taste

that slight burn of the alcohol

just at the back of your throat.

And then it's sweet.

It's very creamy and very rich.

Mmm.

What an incredible way to end this

modern German Suhring experience.

We finished with dinner.

That was an incredible meal.

And after we finished, we hung out

and laughed and joked for a little while

with Thomas and Mathias Suhring and the staff.

They're all really friendly, but the Suhring twins,

they are as creative and as fun and playful

as their food is.

I mean it comes, the food is a direct representation

of their personalities.

They're so much fun, they're so nice, they're so friendly.

And they love to joke around, they're just

great, great chefs.

And again, just, it's incredibly unique that twins,

I mean not only brothers, but twins

have the same passion, they love to cook.

They love to serve.

Yeah, they're just awesome and that was

an incredible experience.

So I want to say a huge thank you to the twins

and all the staff.

We were taken such good care of, that was a huge meal,

you should see my stomach bulging right now.

It is, what time is it right now?

Almost one a.m..

We dined for like five hours.

Ying is almost half asleep.

(laughing)

Partly from the food, partly because it's so late.

How should I do now? The expansion just exploded (Means he didn't cancel it)

I really wanted to type "Infi" "Means GG"

His BR killed a lot of creeps, he didn't get level 2 and Entangling Roots

Damn, he has the Greater Heal Potion

it's ok, I force he to use it

It's too bad, the situation

I think I was drunk

Were the creeps crazy?

I built my expansion 10 Million miles from the creeps, and they came out and attack my expansion (He is speaking with exaggerating)

What Cars Are Really Like in the Philippines - Duration: 9:46.

welcome to wacky Wednesday's, where everyone has a chance to show off their

car mods, and here's this week's winner, we are in front of Robinson's place and

dumaguete and across the street is multi cab

and right here they sell multi cab and we're with Nicole now how much are these

multi cab

194 now do they have like, oh this one's four-wheel drive and it's a

three cylinder you have 12 valve and it's 5-speed, on

so it's one hundred ninety-four thousand pesos

oh if there's cash it's a discount

and that now does the seat adjust, it's fixed, okay so you have to get inside the

multicab and see if it fits,

it's a fixed seat yeah see so if you get inside and it

doesn't seem like it's the right position then you have to get in a

different multi cab is that it okay, now it's

lifted

oh I see there's got bigger tires, now what about the red one over here is it's

pretty much the same thing

4 speed rear differential lock

andnon-slip and it's the same price one 194

okay now this one here it says transformer

oh it's 250,000 because it has the accessories also if you look in the back

well here's the cab oh I see it's got carpet it has a custom steering wheel

custom shifter knob there and a little bit snazzier upholstery and it also has

in the back seats so you can actually seat another 4 more people I

think something like that and it has like a canopy so that if it's raining

then your passengers in the back will not get wet, plus you get a spare

tire with a secure lock and it has custom bumpers

now with this one the two 250,000 peso model does this come with AC

no aircon so the the single cabs like

the red ones over there those are those don't have aircon but they

have a five-speed transmission this one's 4 speed

but it's also four-wheel-drive, okay then we move to this one here this white one

and it looks like it's got like a utility box on the back but now

this one you can you can carry awful lot more people I think it's got a

six people in the back it has a door and this is this is something like a jeepney

yeah it's like a jeepney like you could people sit lengthwise on

these seats that fold down and also has another you can actually open the other

door here

you can oh so that's so if you wanted to load some big items in here you could

open open both doors oh how much is uh is 249 and it's four-wheel drive tonight

only two wheel drive 4-speed transmission 2 wheel drive and

then we moved to this one here the crew cab, now how much is a crew cab

299 and you get its four-wheel drive and it has steps

and this has aircon 299 and you can adjust the seat so if you need more

legroom you can actually get inside and adjust the seat and it has sliding rear

doors on both sides, so that it has a closed passenger that can enjoy the

aircon and then we move to the top of the line here, this one here is this

was a van and this is 288 it has aircon 5-speed

only but it's two wheel drive and it has sliding doors on both sides as you can

see here

and

and it also has like enclosed so it has like the back door opens up and you have

an enclosed area here with folding seats so you could probably get nine people in

here if you wanted and it opens pretty pretty big it's about six foot over

six foot three six foot four clearance in the back, oh here's the flow okay

now what what the deal is this is the flow of what happens, so these these

multi cabs are actually they actually come from Japan

and the big problem is the first problem I guess is that the steering wheel is on

the right side and not on the left side and so and you can't drive a car

like that in the Philippines you'll get fined 50,000 pesos if they

catch you, so the first thing they have to do is move that steering wheel to the

right side then they do engine reconditioning and

metal components fabrication and chassis rebuilding

they mount the engine back on, align the wheels and it's inspected and

in the final assembly and then here are the various configuration multi-cabs

there's the single cab then there the accessorized single cab

then there's the jeepney type and then there's a crew cab and

there's the van, now do you have are you getting any in that have here it

is here do you have any that have automatic transmission

they're all manual, okay but I think they do make a multi cab that's

automatic you don't have it right now, now and also as far as I know they make

four-cylinder yeah multi cab

yeah the Landy it's automatic they have a 4 cylinder

but you don't have any in right now, so anyway that's the price range

194,000 to 298 that 298,000, all right well I appreciate it and

thanks for for showing me around here in multi-cab

well that was this week's video and to have your car mods shown on my channel

here, check this out, so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair

videos, remember to ring that Bell!

Forged in Fire: ROCCAT Vulcan Trailer Behind the Scenes | Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Duration: 2:06.

Fire, smoke, smoldering metal.

It was hot, it was exciting

and a little bit frightening as well.

The vision for the trailer of our new

mechanical gaming keyboard the ROCCAT Vulcan

was to not only show the keyboard

itself with its cool industrial design

and all the light and the metal surface

but also images that create a feeling of power and heat.

We want the gamers to believe

that the ROCCAT Vulcan was

actually made in a real volcano.

When we shot the hammer and anvil picture

I expected a hard punch.

I thought I was prepared but I was not.

The sound, the sparks flying around,

even the vibration that reached me through the

stone floor of the forge. I was totally surprised,

I was shocked.

Fred seemed really scared when the

hammer first hit the anvil and honestly

at that moment so was I because when the

sparks hit my side I almost dropped to

the floor out of shock.

But after all it was an amazing experience.

It was really fun.

Nothing took serious damage anyways.

Karl the blacksmith worked really hard to show

us everything: Rising flames,

wads of smoke, glowing metal. The whole deal.

Our marketing director Hendrik even assisted

Karl with some of the shots but suddenly

our camera went pitch black and

obviously we were worried a lot but

turns out just overheated from all the

heat so the solution to it was simple:

Fresh air.

We're really happy how the trailer turned out.

Just lean back and enjoy the heat.

September Wrap-Up || 2018 - Duration: 10:01.

Bibliophiles of the internet, my name's Adriana and today I'm here to bring you my September Wrap-Up.

As you *should* know, September marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month—

—which obviously, for me, is incredibly important—so I chose to exclusively read #ownvoices Latinx books.

The first book I read for September was "The Weight of Feathers" by Anna-Marie McLemore.

This is #ownvoices Latinx magical realism about two rival families, the Corbeaus and the Palomas.

Both families have travelling shows where the Corbeaus put on a high-balancing act in the trees

and the Palomas swim in mermaid exhibitions.

The two families are visiting the same town when disaster strikes and the unthinkable happens:

A Corbeau saves a Paloma's life, and the two young enemies slowly begin to fall in love.

What I love most about this story is that it's equal parts commentary *and* romance.

Anna-Marie McLemore is able to use touches of whimsy and magic to explore the realities of immigration

and those who are pushed into the margins.

Both of these families are made up of immigrants, the Corbeus being Romani and the Palomas being Hispanic,

and the story explores how their families' heritage and traditions have literally become side-shows

for the locals' consumption and entertainment.

But we also come to understand *why* these people chose this path,

because the only quote-unquote "normal" jobs they qualified for offered about the same amount

of stability, safety, and payout—which isn't saying much.

So you have this thread about immigrant families trying to gain acknowledgement

and making a place for themselves.

The romance is also wonderful and heartfelt.

There's so much about disrupting cycles of inherited hatred, suffering, and fear through simple acts of love.

But it's also about learning to love yourself and your differences.

There are some mild triggers for abuse, violence, and confronting trauma,

but I really enjoyed the emotional journey this story took me on, and I gave it 4 stars.

After that, from my library I listened to "The Education of Margot Sanchez" by Lilliam Rivera, read by Almarie Guerra.

This is #ownvoices Latinx YA contemporary about Margot Sanchez,

whose parents pay good money to send her to a private school outside of the Bronx.

But recently Margot was caught stealing her dad's credit card to buy hundreds of dollars' worth of clothes on the internet.

As punishment, it's decided that Margot will spend her summer working in the family supermarket

instead of on the beach with her friends, and Margot will do whatever it takes to get out of it.

I was pleasantly surprised by this story, because it's extremely dramatic

and Margot is definitely a quote-unquote "unlikeable" character who doesn't always make the best decisions.

But I think that just made me want to root for her even *more*,

and made me *want* to see her push through all those mistakes.

You have to realize that this is a story of *redemption*, it's a story of self-discovery where Margot has to go through

a ton of tonterías and foolishness before realizing that she *can't* live like that.

To me, the heart of this story is Margot reconciling the two parts of herself:

the face she puts on for her prep school friends and the detached façade she puts on in the Bronx.

Eventually she reaches the breaking point where she has to ask herself what is real, what matters,

and how she can root out the toxicity in her life.

The story also comments on the toxic nature of machismo, and how Margot struggles against the men in her family

who hold aggressive ideas of masculinity and how they can "protect her innocence."

And there's also a fantastic discussion about how Latinx immigrant families are slaves to their "image"—

—how people think of them and how everything they're associated with will reflect back on them—

—and how that can *also* be toxic.

Again, Margot and her family don't always respond to these pressures in "appropriate" ways, but that's life.

Who can claim to have been the absolute best version of themself at the age of fifteen?

Who can even claim to be the absolute best version of themself in this moment? None of us.

But Margot learns and changes, and for me that's what makes the difference.

I really enjoyed listening to this one and I gave it 4 stars.

Then I read/listened to one of my new favorite books, "The House of Impossible Beauties" by Joseph Cassara,

read by Christian Barillas.

I'm going to restrain myself from gushing about this brilliant, *brilliant* book

because I have been recommending it left and right.

I made a huge recommendation post for it on Instagram for the #LatinxBookstagramTour,

I mentioned it in my Latinx Book Recommendations video,

*and* I made a "5 Reasons to Read" video all about this book.

All of those things will be linked down below, so please be sure to check them out.

But suffice to say this story is amazing. It is essential.

And has profoundly, *profoundly* affected my life and I gave this its rightful 5 stars.

Then I confess that I did read non-Latinx book, but I promise I had a very good reason,

because it was the graphic novel adaptation of "The Adventure Zone: Here There Be Gerblins" by the McElroys and Carey Pietsch.

So I had to read this one ASAP, because I started listening to "The Adventure Zone" podcast about a month ago.

I mean I'm *way* into it now, I'm almost done with the original campaign,

but I figured I would never be closer to the beginning than when I got this, if that makes sense.

Like all the bits and goofs and details from the first arc were so fresh in my mind, so I just went for it.

For those of you who don't know, "The Adventure Zone" is a fantasy/comedy podcast where the McElroys and their father

play Dungeons and Dragons in real time and it's FANTASTIC.

This campaign is about Magnus, a human warrior; Taako, an elf wizard; and Merle, a dwarf cleric

who are trying to reclaim powerful magical objects that could destroy everything if they fall into the wrong hands.

It kinda sounds like a generic fantasy plotline, but with the McElroys' antics and creativity, it is anything but.

I love these characters who don't take themselves too seriously.

I love this fantasy world that is crafted through a lens of positivity and sincerity and love.

And honestly, this adaptation is successful in so many ways.

I can't even begin to imagine how challenging it is to adapt a podcast to a visual medium,

but Carey Pietsch has really captured these characters and their quirks.

And the comic balances the best of the McElroys' bits with equal amounts of plot.

There's a lot of great references to things in later arcs,

the comic incorporates Griffin as the DM in interesting ways,

and honestly the entire thing is funny as hell. As an adaptation, this is perfect.

Obviously as a mega fan of the original podcast, I gave this 5 stars.

Then I was back on track with "The Air You Breathe" by Frances de Pontes Peebles, read by Rebecca Mozo.

This is an incredible #ownvoices piece of queer Latinx historical fiction with a fantastic music element.

I also made a "5 Reasons to Read" video for this where I go in depth and strongly recommend this book.

So again, I'm gonna save myself some time since I already put in the work and just redirect you to that video,

which will be also be linked down below. So please do check that out.

For the record, I gave this one 4-and-a-half stars.

After that, my poetry collection for September was "Peluda" by Melissa Lozada-Oliva.

She is an award-winning slam poet and this collection is a written form of many of her spoken word pieces

that explore the connection between hair, style, and Latinidad itself.

This collection is powerful and honest in exploring the ways this poet has struggled with hair and body image—

—how she has tried to conform to popular styles to be accepted,

how she has cycled through self-loathing because body hair is stigmatized as "dirty" and "gross,"

and how this stigma *especially* surrounds brown folks.

One of my favorite pieces is where she talks about how a white roommate confronted her

about the hair she left behind in the drain, and how it was really "freaking her out."

And the piece says: "Imagine you are what makes a white girl in a Brooklyn apartment scream."

And that's as *real* as it gets.

In my opinion, the poet makes a lot of creative connections between body hair and culture

and pain and homeland and self-love, and I was 100% here for it. 4-and-a-half stars.

And the last book I read in September was the audiobook of "Pride" by Ibi Zoboi,

read by Elizabeth Acevedo.

This is a modern Afro-Latinx remix of "Pride & Prejudice," and honestly I shouldn't even have to say anything else.

It's about a Haitian-Dominican girl, Zuri Benitez, whose neighborhood is quickly becoming gentrified

with the installation of a mini-mansion right across the street.

Shortly after its completion, the wealthy Darcy family moves in,

bringing along the handsome yet judgmental Darius, who Zuri hates.

As the two of them get thrown together, they learn more and more about each other's worlds

as well as their place in this rapidly changing landscape.

What I love about this is that, as a retelling, it stands out.

"Pride & Prejudice" has been done and redone every which way, but it's never been done like this.

When a retelling can elevate a story in the sense that it allows people who have never been able to see themselves

in such a deeply classic, romantic narrative to then be reflected IN that narrative, that alone is *amazing* work.

I love the way the original events of Jane Austen's story translate to this modern context,

and it often feels effortless.

Those people who are familiar with the original text can anticipate when the story is going to twist and turn,

but the form those twists and turns take are completely unique.

Obviously the original story explores differences in class, but I feel like this story has even *more* nuance

because it's about gentrification and privilege and race *and* class,

and how all of these things impact Zuri and Darius' evolving relationship.

Even though I think the pacing was a little too tight and I would've liked a little more breathing room between plot points,

this story definitely brought joy into my life and I highly recommend it. I gave it 4 stars.

And, honestly, a huge "Yes please" to more classic re-tellings with entire casts of POC characters,

because I will buy *ALL* of those books.

So those are all the books I read in the month of September.

As I always say, if you've read any of these yourself or if you would like to read them in the future,

I would love to discuss!

But that's everything I had for this wrap-up today. Thank you so much for watching this video.

I really hope that you enjoyed it, and I will catch YOU on the flip-side of the page.

Bye!

Strictly Come Dancing's Shirley Ballas avoids kissgate in awkward grilling - Daily News - Duration: 4:07.

Shirley Ballas refused to discuss the shock snog of Seann Walsh and Katya Jones in a very awkward interview on ITV's This Morning

The Strictly Come Dancing head judge, who joined the panel for last year's series, did not speak out about the kiss, despite constant probing from Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in one of the show's most awkward interview yet

Shirley claimed "not to be a newspaper reader" and said she was "engrossed" in another comeptition in London, implying she had not been involved in conversations around the kiss

But she also added she felt what happened happens in all industries, and she will vote "without fear or favour" on Saturday night

When asked about the snog, she replied: "To be really, perfectly honest, I'm really getting ready for the Internation Championships at the Royal Albert Hall so I've been engrossed in that
