Youtube daily report Dec 22 2016

[SOUND]

>> Do not be alarmed.

It is 1,800 hours.

Please place your youth in front of the learning screen.

>> Welcome back to The Remember Hour, children.

>> [APPLAUSE] >> Today,

we're going to talk about a crucial point in political

history, Gamergate.

>> [SOUND]

>> Aah.

>> Please do not punish me for my many transgressions.

Skinner's the one you want.

He eats double rations.

>> [LAUGH]

Got you Rash.

>> [LAUGH] >> You

mistook a shadow of the drill for the drill itself, stupid.

[SOUND]

[MUSIC]

>> It's Remember Hour, >> There is an important lesson

here children, never confuse the Promise of something, or

the thing Itself, we call that,

[NOISE] the VAPORWARE.

>> Yes.

Vaporware.

The promise of something great.

That never comes to fruition.

>> Aw. >> Like hope or

the Nokia N-Gage.

>> Who wants to learn about other examples of lies and

vaporware?

>> Yeah!

>> Behold, the phantom console.

The phantom promised to provide everything from direct

download capabilities, future proof technology,

and your father's respect.

>> Yeah.

>> But it was not to be, the phantom was never released.

>> The resulting anger directly led to the North Korean

Civil War, which led to the North Korean Renaissance.

>> Ooh! >> Then

there was the three Half Lives.

>> Yeah! >> The final chapter

in the sacred epic of Gordon Free Man.

>> We await your return, Gordon!

>> Yeah!

>> To lift us to the heavens with your gravity powers.

>> Yay! >> As consolation,

we have the Gaben's brain preserved.

>> Yeah!

>> [APPLAUSE]

>> You're going to get that story done some day,

Great Gaben.

Bye bye! >> Bye!

>> FInally, there was virtual boy.

>> Ooh!

>> A tiny child,

promised complete transportation to another world!

>> Ooh! >> All it provided was

burnt out eye

>> [SOUND]

You hear that, Skip?

Someone's attempting to pass the final veil.

>> Yay! >> Which is, coincidentally,

the ultimate test of truth versus vaporware.

>> Let's head over to the Hall of Heroes to check it out.

But first kids, here's a very important message.

>> Hey kid, you want to bring honor to your family?

Do you know the difference between truth and vaporware?

Then you should attempt the passing of the veils.

[SOUND] Those who successfully

pass the veils become an inquisitor of the drill.

The living servant to the drill's divine will.

Teach obedience.

[LAUGH]

Eat something besides poisonous fungus.

Finally be allowed to sleep.

Ask your overseer about how to test today.

This message has been approved by Jonathan Drill.

[SOUND]

>> Welcome back to the Hall of Heroes children.

>> Heroes.

[MUSIC]

>> Can I interest you in a preorder?

>> No thank you.

Maybe next time.

>> Rise.

You are about to witness Dweller 42 attempt to

enter the final veil.

>> Yay!

>> Before that I want to see what you'll give me for

these artifacts?

>> Are you serious?

>> Yeah. >> Let's see.

I can do four drill bucks.

>> Four drill bucks.

Are you kidding me?

Those are mints.

>> Seven for store credit.

>> Don't do it! >> Damn it,

I'll take the store credit.

>> No! >> They always take store credit

eventually.

>> [SOUND] >> Now it is time for

Dweller 42 to enter the final veil.

>> The veil!

>> And see if they can decipher what is truth and

what is vaporware.

>> I just want to go to sleep.

>> Question one, Duke Nukem forever, truth or ware?

Answer the question dweller.

>> Duke Nukem forever was released.

Truth.

>> Released in name only.

The spirit of the saga was destroyed in one

artless money grab.

We've erased it from the archives.

>> No rush.

She's going casual on us.

>> Question number two.

Sega CD, truth or vaporware?

>> God I'm so tired.

I'm so hungry.

[SOUND]

[SOUND]

vaporware?

>> Correct Sega CD was woefully under supported but sewer shark

was an incredibly accurate prediction of our future.

Not so fast.

The final question will determine your fate.

>> I beg you just let me pass.

I have no place else to go.

>> Final question.

>> Star citizen, truth or vaporware?

>> One, zero!

>> I'm sorry dweller 42, but much like fans initially

interested in star citizen, you're just out of time.

>> No, please I don't want to go.

>> I hereby banish you to the surface, have fun.

>> No, please, you can do something right.

>> No, no, please no!

Aah! >> [SOUND]

>> Have fun. >> And remember kiddos,

the drill is the only truth.

>> Yea! >> Everything else is vaporware.

>> See you next time on the Remember Hour!

[SOUND]

>> So, hi shift manager.

Do you know how we prevent the show from becoming vaporware?

>> Well it's not up to us, it's up to the kids.

If they don't push the subscribe button then we'll become extinct

just like the rest of the human race.

>> Press it, press it, please?

7 Tips From Screenwriters - Duration: 4:16.

(inspiring music)

- [Interviewer] What would you say, from your experience,

in screenwriting, is an important thing that you can

share with the people watching?

(fast guitar music)

- Well, one of the things that I try to do with anything

I write is have it read out loud.

And I think when we work by ourselves,

and you do your own voice in your head

while you're reading through what you're writing,

sometimes it's you talking to you,

and then you realize that there's

not enough diversity in your characters.

So if you can get people to get together and read it,

so that you can hear it, that's really very helpful.

You start to then realize, oh, well,

I have like seven men in this scene.

(laughs)

Maybe, I have heard, I haven't heard

her talk for two minutes, so

that's very helpful.

(guitar music)

- I think the most valuable thing for me was being on set.

You can sit there for months, working on your script.

You can read the lines in your head,

but until you're on set and you see how movement

changes words, how some actors can play

certain lines in a certain way, and others can't,

how sometimes an actor will read a line that you've written,

and you're thinking, "You got that, from that?"

and how some jokes just refuse to play, you know.

And the beauty, I found, of being on set

and being allowed to keep working on the film

while I was there, was that I got to see how it worked

and how I could help the process.

(guitar music)

- My most practical piece of advice, I think

that I've tumbled into in the last few years

of my own screenwriting process, it's very logistical.

And that is that I now pay someone to type while I dictate.

And the person typing is on the clock, so I don't have that

moment where, 33 minutes into my workday, I'm like

(stretching noises)

oh, I taped that show last night, I'm gonna go lie

on the sofa and watch that first, and then I'll be good.

The second thing is I don't get OCD and controlling

about my own perfectionist writing process.

If I'm not looking at the screen, trying to fix sentences,

and wasting an hour just trying to make a sentence perfect.

But something about the act of staring at the ceiling

while you're creating from the blank page

in a dictating way, that's related, psychically,

to the experience of daydreaming, which is extremely

different from the experience of controlling stuff

that's going on on the screen.

(guitar and drum music)

- Well I'll tell you something I learned

from working with Clint Eastwood, is I finally

know what a movie set should look like.

Calm as a library,

everyone pulling in the same direction,

nobody rushed a single moment

and we came in, he came in, three days under,

and made this movie, a $60 million, in 36 days.

36 days.

Because, he goes methodically and he's prepared.

And that is what every set I'm gonna be on in the future

is going to aim for.

(fast music)

- I also tell people to take improv classes.

Find a way that you have to put yourself in the acting,

in the actor's world every once in awhile.

'Cause you'll notice when you really are just

sitting at the table for awhile, or your job is mostly

to go, "Well, what else?"

Like when you're the question receptacle. (laughing)

You know, to help propel someone else's story.

The best scripts have everybody has something going on.

(fast music)

- And the only other thing I would say is be respectful

of your director, because it's not your baby anymore

and it's the director's baby.

And if you're lucky enough to be on set,

your job is just to sit back and be there if they

want a line, but I think where things go wrong

it's when people don't understand the hierarchy

and the diplomacy.

You know, a director's job is hard enough.

(fast music)

- The most important thing to write is just to write.

You know?

In cinema, cinema is a very complicated industry,

where, when you're writing you need to think

about lots of pragmatic things.

And sometimes I feel that that way of thinking

sometimes cripples creativity.

When I wrote with my dad, Gravity,

in a way we were very blessed that my dad

never thought as a director in the whole writing process,

'cause otherwise he would have stopped in page 10

of the script and said "I don't wanna deal with this."

And that's why the writing process was so incredible,

because we never worried about the pragmatics

those two months, we were just imagining the scenes

how we wanted it, wanted them to play.

Korea to invest over US$ 5.8 bil. in 12 future industries - Duration: 1:50.

The Korean government is looking to boost the economy and create hundreds of thousands

of new jobs by developing leading technologies of the future.

Oh Soo-young outlines the plan to help support the sectors expected to spearhead the 4th

industrial revolution.

Korea is going to invest billions of dollars in leading industries of the future.

The trade ministry on Wednesday announced its plan to nurture twelve key sectors that

are expected to be at the forefront of the so-called "fourth industrial revolution."

These include electric and automated cars, robotics and biohealth, as well as next generation

displays and semi-conductors.

Over the next five years,... some five-point-eight billion U.S. dollars will be funneled into

research and development for these fields.

The government hopes to create the optimal environment for research by improving personnel

management, strengthening competition and attracting professionals from abroad.

Regulations will also be stripped back across the twelve sectors to stimulate business developments.

In doing this, the government will expand its working guideline... to clear up regulatory

uncertainties... and boost supportive measures for new technologies,... such as preliminary

certification to help fast-track commercialization.

"In Korea, the most sensitive issue regarding regulation is data,... for instance, the use

of personal information in biohealth.

There are existing regulations that could limit or hinder developments or transactions

between businesses, and there are no clear guidelines thus far.

So these need to be worked on to achieve global competitiveness."

By developing these industries through public-private partnerships, the government hopes to vitalize

the economy and create 380-thousand new jobs.

These industries made up 6-point-6 percent of Korea's exports last year.

The government hopes to double that figure by 2025.

Oh Soo-young, Arirang News.

Independent counsel begins probe into power abuse scandal - Duration: 2:17.

The independent counsel team dedicated to the Choi Soon-sil scandal investigation officially

got to work.

It was a full day, complete with a launching ceremony, raids and issuing an arrest warrant.

Hwang Hojun starts us off with how they got things underway.

After 20 days of preparations, the independent counsel team, led by Park Young-soo,... signaled

the launch of the investigation... with a signboard hanging ceremony at their office

in southern Seoul on Wednesday morning.

"We acknowledge that this team has been formed by the order of the people and will work with

a great sense of responsibility."

During a press conference held about an hour after the ceremony, the independent counsel

spokesperson, Lee Kyu-chul, confirmed that prosecutors had raided the headquarters of

the National Pension Service and the health ministry's pension division, as the opening

ceremony was taking place.

They are investigating whether the state-run agency colluded with Samsung Group to orchestrate

the merger last year of two of its affiliates.

The investigation is also looking into the whereabouts of Choi Soon-sil's daughter, Chung

Yoo-ra.

"The independent counsel has issued a warrant for Chung's arrest, based on a charge of obstruction

of justice."

While Chung's mother, Choi Soon-sil, is in custody here in Korea, Chung is believed to

be in Germany, but that hasn't been confirmed.

The independent counsel team has not only asked German prosecutors for their cooperation

in the investigation, but also invalidated Chung's passport and frozen her bank accounts.

The team has also acquired investigation reports, call histories and transaction records on

Chung to verify exactly where she is.

Chung was a gold medalist in dressage at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, and there are suspicions

that she received financial support from Samsung Group.

In addition, her mother, Choi Soon-sil, is accused of using her influence to secure special

treatment for Chung in her college admissions and grading at an elite university in Seoul.

"The independent counsel now has 70 days to investigate the case, with the option of a

30-day extension.

But with the Constitutional Court gearing up to try the parliamentary impeachment case,

the team has pledged to work as quickly as possible.

Hwang Hojun, Arirang News."

Saenuri Party on verge of splitting apart - Duration: 2:15.

The ruling Saenuri Party inches closer to a split.

Some 35 members vowed to leave the party to create a new political platform of their own.

Ji Myung-kil takes us up to speed on the developments shaping the nation's political landsape ahead

of a presidential election next year.

At an emergency meeting on Wednesday, lawmakers from the wing of the ruling Saenuri Party

who have distanced themselves from President Park Geun-hye said roughly 35 members of the

group would leave the party next week to seek a truly conservative political platform.

"We will go ahead and prepare to leave the party on the 27th with our fellow lawmakers."

The faction also vowed to eradicate factional politics by establishing a new conservative

power capable of winning the presidential election next year.

"President Park Geun-hye's lack of communication skills... and constitutional breach has led

to her impeachment.

It's a national tragedy."

"We've come to the conclusion that it was impossible to lead reforms from within the

Saenuri Party."

The group would need more than twenty lawmakers to form a separate negotiation body in parliament.

"Political observers predict, however, that the non-pro-Park faction could get around

40,... which would be enough to surpass the 38 seats held by the People's Party,... making

it the third largest political body in parliament."

The party's pro-Park members have strongly denounced their counterparts,... calling them

cowards.

They also said the non-pro Park group is just seeking to follow its own political interests...

and made the decision without any justification.

"It is regrettable that Representative Yoo Seong-min did not engage in any prior consultations

with me."

Yoo was the non-pro-Park wing's candidate for the interim leader of the party's emergency

leadership committee.

The pro-Park group's rejection of Yoo on Tuesday... reignited the conflict between the factions,

which has been simmering for the past year.

N. Korea not likely to launch provocation any sooner than March or April: U.S. defense analyst - Duration: 4:56.

North Korea has been rather quiet as of late.

But that calm won't last long, with China not playing an active role in discouraging

its ally from regrettable actions, and as the regime possibly perceiving changes to

come in Seoul and Washington's leadership as their cue to carry out another provocation.

Our Connie Kim sat down with some experts for their views.

The recently adopted UN Security Council resolution on North Korea aimed to give less wiggle room

for the reclusive regime and make the North pay the price for defying the international

community's condemnation and going ahead with its 5th nuclear test in September.

But whether resolution 2321 will really have a pinching effect seems to depend solely on

how China, North Korea's largest trading partner, will actively implement the sanctions,...

says Robert Einhorn a former U.S. State Department's Special Advisor for Nonproliferation and Arms

Control.

He recently met with North Korean officials in Geneva for informal talks known as Track

2.

"I think an important step forward was the recent Security Council resolution 2321.

That resolution that was worked out largely by the U.S. and China called for tax on the

amount of coal that North Korea can export to China.

It provides for something like 25-percent reduction in the revenues that North Korea

can realize from exports, so that was an important step and it required China to be on board,

but I still think China can do more."

The key in the UN Security Council resolution is slashing North Korea's exports of coal

by about sixty percent with an annual sales cap of four-hundred million U.S. dollars or

seven-and-a half million metric tons,... which could pressure the North to give up its nuclear

weapons program.

But most North Korea watchers believe Pyongyang will not let go of its nukes given that it's

the only negotiating tool with Washington.

"I don't think that North Korea has yet the ability with any confidence to deliver a nuclear

weapon against the American homeland.

Clearly they are working on it.

I believe as a matter of policy, they are committed to achieve the goal, but I think

it will take them a few more years before they have that capability,"

So considering that scrapping off Pyongyang's nuclear weapons threat will not be possible

any time soon, experts believe another provocation will come from the North.

The question is when.

And most say an important triggering point could be South Korea's presidential election.

"If you think about it North Korea should fire lots of ballistic missiles like it did

with its nuclear test.

But then after September, October it stopped.

Why?

Well because of the havoc in South Korea politically.

Why would North Korea want to look like a threat when the conservative president is

being impeached and it looks like a progressive will be the next president.

I think until the presidential election occurs which probably isn't any earlier than March

or April, Kim Jong-un is going to be very well behaved."

Another point to consider is the incoming Trump administration, as the unpredictable

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un may want to seek big deals with the former U.S. business

tycoon.

"I think North Korea is waiting to see what the Trump administration will do.

Hopefully they will be patient and refrain from any provocations

because if they engage in such provocations, I think it will seriously affect the policies

of the Trump administration, and not in the direction that North Korea will prefer."

Inter-Korean relations have come to a complete halt and North Korea has become even more

isolated this year.

But the regime's unnerving silence as of now can be seen as the unpredictable leader most

likely pondering on possible scenarios that focus on the new leaderships in South Korea

and the U.S. next year, ... meaning that Kim Jong-un's next moves will surely set the tone

of how Seoul and Washington will deal with the reclusive regime.

N. Korea not likely to launch provocation any sooner than March or April: U.S. defense analyst - Duration: 4:55.

North Korea has been fairly subdued as of late.

But most experts don't expect that to remain the case for much longer.

There's a worry the regime might take the political turmoil in South Korea and the power

transition in the U.S. as a cue to launch another provocation.

Our Connie Kim reports.

COD IW 12 DAYS OF WINTER - COD IW FREE SUPPLY DROPS!?!? - Duration: 4:05.

Yo whats up guys its Yogge

and today i have a brand new video for

you guys so guys today and today's video

we're going to be talking about

something pretty pretty interesting so

if you guys hopped on call of duty

infinite warfare two day then you would

have seen that there will be a weird

Supply Drop on your screen when you go

to the quartermaster and are obviously

the quartermaster's gonna say like new

next to it and it's gonna you know

indicate that there's something new in

the quartermaster when you click on it

you'll see like a giftable holiday

supply job gift sort of thing and today

I want to talk about why that's there

what is going to give you and how long

it's gonna last because there is a time

limit next to it and if you guys are

curious about this and just stay tuned

to the video I'll talk about every

little thing but before that we gotta

roll that intro

alright guys so like i said if you guys

would have hopped on and for the water

today and look at the quartermaster you

would have seen something a little bit

weird basically it's called the 12-day

the 12 days of winter event and called

the infinite warfare and today is day

one and what you get on day one is a

calling card now what the 12 days of

one-time event called three years is

basically started from yesterday and

today is the first day there's going to

be 12 days so tomorrow's gonna be 2 day

3 and further on and you know so it

makes sense right

basically what's gonna happen is

everyday that you logon you will get a

free gift basically and this can range

from weapons key salvage and you know

obviously calling cards that's what we

got today it's an epic calling cards

have you guys i authorized really i mean

it's really not that hike to be honest

like a colored card who cares who cares

about a calling card but i can promise

you guys are gonna put in at least one

good weapon because it's like a gift or

something like that I they probably are

gonna put in weapons i believe so but

today when we got on the December 21st

bday one is the string them up calling

card you guys saw that I got that out of

the Supply Drop and that i had and

everybody's going to get the same thing

and you have 24 hours to claim this

Supply Drop so if you don't claim it

within 24 hours that is why there is

also a time limit on there if you don't

claim in 24 hours then it will disappear

and the next one will come in its place

the day to Supply Drop so i guess i know

this is going to be a short video but

that's basically that's what I wanted to

talk about so if you guys don't know

about to serve you guys are wondering

why it's there

there are 12 days to go in every 12 days

that you log on no matter what you will

get a free supply drop and it could

range like I said again from calling

cards key salvage or even weapons so if

you guys want to get free supply drops

this is a really really easy fast way to

do it for I believe like this weekend

like next week i believe so as well

hey guys just stay tuned on infinite

warfare guys want to see what the

pleasure yet i'll show you guys you know

videos of me unlocking them and see if i

can get anything interesting but

yeah I guess basically tell me in the

comments what you guys think about this

and you guys enjoy the video i know it's

really really short like i said but

again i just want to explain this to you

guys because this is something really

interesting and you guys probably are

wondering about it that's why I wanted

to make a video on it for those of you

that don't know so you have because each

other if you guys in measures like the

reservoir and stay healthy and i will

see you all on the next one
