JOE MERRITT: Remove the aggression, insert the pen.

Transplant the ball-peen with a ballpoint,

until the vice grips of your palms

transform into feathers.

Know that this fist can wraparound flowers

as easily as pistol grips,

and then sometimes left hand flowers,

right hand pistol grips.

I had a good friend of mine from high school

who was killed in Ramadi.

I watched his mom cry

on the front lawn for two-and-a-half days.

And I joined the Marine Corps

to try to prevent moms from laying in the front yard.

I was in the Marine Corps for ten years.

I went to Afghanistan,

supported Iraq,

and was medically retired.

Now, I'm a visual artist.

It's hard to cope and do normal human being stuff

if you're wearing your trauma on your sleeve.

When I first got back home from Afghanistan,

my dad was like, "Hey, if you ever wanna talk,

we're here for you."

But it never made sense to be like,

"Hey, Dad, I watched people burn to death.

Also, can you pass the mashed potatoes," or like,

how do I start this conversation?

Hayes Carll - None'Ya - Duration: 3:29.

I asked you where you been and you said none'ya

None'ya business don't you ask no more

You said if you would do a better job of listening

Then maybe you would understand why I'm at the door

You just had to paint the front porch ceiling turquoise

You said that's the way we do it in the South

You claimed it keeps out all the evil spirits

Sometimes I can't believe the words coming out your mouth

But I try because I want to

Know your heart the best way that I can

Through the laughter and the pain

And the sometimes just insane

Girl all I wanna do is be your man

Sometimes we'll pretend like we are strangers

Out there meeting up for the first time

I'll be a doctor or a secret agent

Just hopin' that you'll laugh with me

As I throw out my lines

I used to tell myself I had it covered

That everything was where it needs to be

But then you showed up and you looked me over

And now I see

Oh I see

Now I see

Darlin' I see

So I try because I need to

Know your heart the best way that I can

For the laughter, for the pain

For the way you call my name

Girl all I wanna do is be your man

I asked you where you'd been and you said none'ya

None'ya business don't you ask no more

Lil Wayne's Carter V isn't impressive says Gillie da Kidd | Heavy.com - Duration: 7:28.

Lil Wayne's Carter V isn't impressive says Gillie da Kidd | Heavy.com

Lil Wayne dropped Carter V in September and Philly rapper, Gillie da Kid isn't feeling it.

Appearing on this week's episode of the Scoop B Radio Podcast, Gillie weighed in.

"I wasn't that impressed," Gillie da Kid told me.

"I just didn't think it was there, musically.

You got a couple of joints on here, but for the most part, Wayne gave you that slap, you feel me?".

Tha Carter V, Lil Wayne's twelfth studio album.

The album has appearances from Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott and Snoop Dogg.

Gillie da Kid's comments about Lil Wayne aren't too surprising.

Per Complex:.

Gillie Da Kid left Cash Money in 2006 and on his way out the door he claimed to be responsible for the success of Lil' Wayne and said that he had ghostwritten almost all of Lil' Wayne's songs off Tha Carter 1.

Gillie also said that he was definitely hotter than Wayne.

And in words directed toward Lil' Wayne, he told HipHopDX, "I'm on ya head n***a, I'm on ya ass.".

Lil Wayne responded on a 2006 mixtape hosted by DJ Khaled by stating:.

"Gillie man, I don't think you n****s  should really fuck with me; The gun off me urgently workin' and twerkin' it perfectly".

Per Lil Wayne Fansite Lil Wayne HQ:.

After this shot, Gillie Da Kid appeared on a few street DVDs trying to expose how "fake" Weezy and Birdman are over at Cash Money.

One of the DVDs that Gillie appeared on was Cheddar DVD Volume 6 along with former Sqad Up members Gudda Gudda, Kidd Kidd, Young Yo, and Supa Blanco  – who at the time had all also fallen out with Tune.

The two would continue back and forth via mixtape and even on YouTube.

In 2010, the beef seemingly ended.

Lil Wayne was in jail for gun possession and Gillie shouted him out in a video and stated that he doesn't want to see anyone in jail and told the New Orleans rapper to "hold his head up." That seemed to signal that the beef is over.

Years later, Gillie says that he will continue to take the high road.

"I mean, just for me, there's no heat involved," he said.

A source shared with me that the two had a meeting scheduled.

The meeting was cancelled.

"I like Wayne as an artist, I like him as a person, he's a cool little dude, you know what I mean? As for Carter V?.

"It didn't do nothing for me," he said.

For the record Carter V is Lil Wayne's fourth US number-one album and debuted at number one one Billboard.

The single, "Uproar," a collaboration with award-winning producer, Swizz Beatz, is a hit and a tribute to the early 2000s track, by G-Dep and P.Diddy.

As for Gillie da Kid, he also discussed Jay-Z wanting him to join Roc-a-fella Records last decade "He tried to sign me," Gillie da Kid told me on Scoop B Radio.

"I would always love to work with Hov, that's Hov.

But at the end of the day, the business got to be right.

But just at that point in time, the business wasn't right.".

Added Gillie da Kid: "I had already signed to Suave House.

I had already got $150,000 sent to my account.

Now you take a young kid from the ghetto, you put $150,000 in his account, then after a while he starts realizing $150,000 ain't no money.

So now Jay-Z comes with a contract where you are offering us one-tenth of that? No!".

Gillie also discussed Philadelphia rapper, Meek Mill, who has rapidly become the face of criminal justice reform.

"I salute Meek," he said.

"Meek had his mother****ing generation from Philadelphia for about nine years now, eight years now, maybe 10 years now." At the end of the day, any young black minority, even a kid that's not a minority, come out of Philadelphia because there's no suburbs in Philadelphia.

This s***s all a jungle.

So if you can make it out this jungle and feed your family and find a way to make life better for you and yours, I'll always salute you.".

Cody Coffman: a Tribute to the Thousand Oaks Victim | Heavy.com - Duration: 8:29.

Cody Coffman: a Tribute to the Thousand Oaks Victim | Heavy.com

Jason Coffman was among the hundreds of people who were desperately trying to reach their family members after the shooting at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California.

His son, Cody, was an enthusiastic dancer who was a regular at the bar's Wednesday night line dancing event.

By 6AM on Thursday morning, Jason Coffman said he still hadn't heard from Cody.

That's when Jason used a tracking app to locate Cody's phone — and he found that his son's phone was still right there in the bar.

Of course, Jason went through the kind of private hell that any parent would in this case.

He did his best to stay optimistic.

But Jason also told reporters that his son was not the kind of boy to flee from gunfire.

"This is my firstborn child.

I'm afraid he was the boy who went towards the gunman and not ran away.

That's the kind of boy that he is," Jason told the press on Thursday morning.

Authorities later informed Jason that his firstborn son, Cody, had died at the scene of the horrific shooting.

Here's what you need to know:.

Cody Was Getting Ready to Join the Army.

Cody Coffman had just turned 22.

He was preparing to enlist in the army.

His father, Jason, described him as a brave young man — the kind of boy who would run towards the scene of a disaster, instead of running away from it.

"That's the kind of boy he is," Jason said.

Cody was also an umpire in the Pony League, a baseball league for children in Camarillo, California.

He was an athletic young man who loved baseball, football, and the outdoors.

Cody's Facebook page says that he was in a relationship.

(His family has left up his Facebook page, adding a note to the page that reads, "We hope people who love Cody will find comfort in visiting his profile to remember and celebrate his life.").

He said Cody was a loving son and called him "the kind of big brother my kids need.

" Choking back tears, Jason also thanked the media for giving him the chance to tell his son's story and to show his picture.

Cody Loved to Dance & Was a Regular at Borderline Bar & Grill.

Cody Coffman father, Jason, told CBS2 that Cody went to the bar every Wednesday night to line dance.

Jason said, "I talked to him last night before he headed out the door.

First thing I said is, 'please don't drink and drive.' Last thing I said is, 'I love you.'".

Jason tracked Cody to the bar using an app on Cody's phone.

On Thursday morning, he was waiting for news of his son.

He told local media, "I am very emotional right now.

This is my first born son.

To lose your kid in a senseless way like this is pretty tough.

And I hope you're out there and I hope you're okay.".

Cody Was About to Have a Baby Sister.

Cody's father, Jason, tearfully told reporters about the deep love that he and his son had for one another.

Jason said that his first daughter will be born soon — she is due on November 29 — and he expressed his heartbreak at the thought that now, his daughter will never have the chance to meet her older brother.

Jason said Cody already has two younger brothers.

Jason said, "Cody was the big brother that my kids need.

I have a baby daughter coming on the 29th of this month.

He was so excited to have a baby sister.

And now she'll never know him.".

Cody's Father Said 'Only He and I Know How Much I Love Him, How Much I Miss Him'\.

A tearful Jason Coffman told reporters on Thursday that his son Cody had been killed in the horrific shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill.

Jason said that Cody was a loving son and a wonderful brother.

Choking back tears, Jason said, "only he and I know how much I love him, how much I miss him." He said, "Cody was athe big brother that my kids need.

I have a baby daughter coming on the 29th of this month.

He was so excited to have a baby sister.

And now she'll never know him.".

Jason thanked reporters for letting him tell his son's story and show his picture.

Survivors Say Cody Helped to Save Their Lives.

Sarah DeSon was one of the people who made it out of the Borderline Bar & Grill alive.

She told the New York Times that she, and others, had survived because of Cody Coffman's quick response.

"He was protecting everyone," she said.

"He got up and he just yelled, 'Everyone, run!'".

Cody Coffman's father, Jason, tracked Jason to the bar using his cell phone.

Jason said he held out hope until the last minute — but finally authorities notified him that his son was among the victims of the attack.

In loving memory of Joseph P. Clayton '71, '16H - Duration: 3:01.

I think of Joe's enthusiasm and commitment towards students -- I just think he related

to students very well.

His experience was lived out in their lives and that's why he wanted to fund a scholarship

for students.

There are few things you can do that leave that kind of mark on an institution and while

he left it with his own success, he passed it on.

He paid it forward.

I think he enjoyed every minute of that.

Bellarmine has been able to make a lot of progress as a university and ADG has been

able to make a lot of progress as a fraternity because of the contributions that Joe has

made.

So having his support has always been so awesome.

Receiving the Clayton Scholarship allowed me to come to Bellarmine, which has honestly

shaped me into who I am.

I learned a lot in my education while I was here, but more importantly through the experiences

I had and the people that I met.

I kind of equate it to the analogy of you can give someone a fish or you can teach someone

to fish, and Joe did that for me.

He not only gave me a financial gift but he gave me something much bigger that allowed

me to live my life to the fullest.

I've always thought of Joe as part of my family.

He's been a mentor in more ways than I can count.

His warmth and generosity and -- he's an incredible person.

I've been so honored to be a part of his life as well.

I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity and the wonderful gift that Joe and his family

has given me.

I know that there's no way I could ever repay that.

Joe's gift has -- it's the reason that I am where I am today.

Joe gave me my life's dream and has affected my life even 10 years later, I still every

day am so excited that I get to wake up and come to Bellarmine and this is my job

and this is my life.

Knowing that I was a Clayton Scholar - that there was one of me in this class and there

was four of us together -- I want him to be proud.

I want to make him proud of everything that I do and everything that

I have done or will do.

I think that can probably be said for all of us.

Joe, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the Mary Agnes Clayton

student scholarship.

It has truly meant the world to me and I've had experiences and relationships here that

I know will last a lifetime.

You have been an honest example of what it means to love thy neighbor and I can only

hope that I emulate that the rest of my life, so thank you.

Mindfulness-based Online Therapist for Anxiety - Duration: 7:21.

Welcome!

My name is Peter Strong.

I'm a professional online therapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety using Mindfulness

Therapy.

So mindfulness-based therapy is extremely effective for overcoming anxiety and this

is because it teaches you how to change the underlying relationship that you have with

your emotions.

The primary problem that I come across in the clients that I work with is the problem

of reactive identification.

This is the process whereby you become identified with your anxiety.

So anxiety gets triggered in the mind and that is just a habit, a conditioned habit.

But the real problem starts when you become identified with it.

This is where you essentially become the emotion, where you become consumed by it, controlled

by it, overwhelmed by the anxiety.

So this is reactive identification and this is the key thing that you must change if you

wish to break free from anxiety or depression.

It's the same process in both conditions that really causes the problem to sustain itself.

You essentially end up feeding your anxiety or depression when you identify with it.

Other kinds of reactivity that reinforce anxiety and depression are typically the reaction

of avoidance.

Running away from your emotions.

That will strengthen anxiety or depression because it cultivates fear of your own anxiety

or depression.

And the other kind of reactivity that is very, very common is reactivity based on aversion:

pushing the unpleasant emotions away.

Trying to pretend that they're not there, trying to talk your way out of those emotions.

These are all ways of pushing the emotion away, suppressing and pushing it into the

subconscious and of course that will simply reinforce the habit that creates anxiety of

depression.

And that's an important consideration.

In my opinion, it is incorrect to call anxiety or depression an illness or chemical imbalance

or any other disorder of that type.

These are emotional states that are created psychologically in the mind in reaction to

certain triggers.

Now those triggers could include chemical imbalances in the mind, but not typically

it is the anxiety or depression itself that leads to chemical imbalances in the mind and

those imbalances simply reinforce and feed the underlying psychological condition.

So the way that we can overcome our anxiety or depression is by working on changing the

way that we relate to our emotions.

And this does not require medication.

It simply requires very careful strategic focused attention on the relationship that

you have with your emotions, and that is what we specialize in during Mindfulness Therapy.

And I will teach you how to do this.

I have found this approach to be very effective.

My clients really enjoy and feel empowered by this approach.

And almost all of my clients are able to get off their medications once they start really

applying the mindfulness techniques that I teach.

So if you'd like to learn more about mindfulness-based psychotherapy for overcoming anxiety and depression

as well, then please go to my website and learn more about my services.

And please e-mail me with any questions you might have.

I will be happy to answer your e-mails.

And when you feel ready we can then proceed to schedule the first online therapy session.

And in that first session I will teach you the principles of how to apply mindfulness

to work with anxiety and depression.

Most people really benefit tremendously from this approach and I typically tell people

to look for changes very quickly after the first one or two sessions.

If you start applying these techniques you will see changes quite quickly.

So if you're interested in Mindfulness Therapy for overcoming anxiety depression or any other

emotional problem and you like the idea of learning how to do this yourself without relying

on medications, then please go to my website and contact me and we can schedule a Skype

Therapy session at a time that was for you.

I see people throughout North America but also abroad.

I am from the UK originally so of course I have many clients in the UK and Western Europe

but I also see people in Australia and Japan and South Korea and so on.

So all we need is a good internet connection and an updated current version of Skype and

we can conduct online therapy.

This is a non-medical approach, but I feel that that is what most people are looking

for to produce lasting changes rather than just covering up symptoms.

So please contact me.

Thank you.

Walcott spent 12 years at the Gunners under the management of Wenger. 'He's a father figure, he gave me the opportunity at a young age, took the pressure off me and put it on himself when he didn't need to do it,' Walcott said on the BBC's Premier League Show

'I'm pleased with what I contributed to his career. I still think he's got unfinished business and there's a missing chapter for him

Common Causes of Shoulder Pain - Bloomingdale IL Chiropractor - Ducat Chiropractic & Sports Medicine - Duration: 3:04.

Hi I'm Dr. Erin Ducat, a sports chiropractor with Ducat Chiropractic &

Sports Medicine here in Bloomingdale Illinois. Today I'm going to talk about a

couple of common shoulder conditions that I treat here in my office that

cause shoulder pain. The first is something called impingement syndrome.

This is where the scapula, back here, starts moving excessively on the

thoracic ribcage and then creates a pinching sensation of the rotator cuff

tendons here at the front of the ball and socket joint. You'll notice that you

have pain raising your arm up like this, out to the side -- you may also

have pain sleeping on that shoulder. This is one of the most common conditions

that affects Americans and the good news is that most of the time you don't need

shots or surgery or medications to get better -- we just have to restore the

mechanical balance back to the area and the pain goes away. Another common

condition is something called a rotator cuff tear. Now these come in both partial

and full tear varieties and this generally occurs when you've had an

impingement syndrome for a long period of time and that pinching and that

impingement on that tendon just creates a lot of wear and tear and so you start

seeing small little holes, which would be a partial tear and then sometimes you

can fully complete into a full tear thickness tear later on. Now in the past

we used to think that you have to have surgical repair of those tears in

order to get full motion back to your shoulder. Now research is coming out

saying that you actually get better outcomes and better results if you actually

see a chiropractor, get physical therapy done, perhaps even acupuncture to help restore

the balance to the area. The last type of shoulder problem is actually something

called acromioclavicular arthritis. So this is where you get more shoulder pain

right in here, especially when raising your arms up overhead or pushing

heavy weights overhead. It's very common in athletes. This occurs when there's too

much pressure on that acromioclavicular joint right where your collarbone

attaches to your shoulder blade and then your body responds to that pressure by

putting down extra bone over time -- we call that arthritis. Now there's no

surgery for AC joint arthritis or acromioclavicular

arthritis. In the past we used to prescribe injections for the pain, but

now are finding out if you restore the mechanical balance of the area, just

like with the impingement syndrome and the partial tears of the rotator cuff,

you can actually get back a lot of your range of motion and lifting power

without the pain and doing it naturally without drugs or medication. This

video is actually the second in a series of four videos about shoulder pain so

stay tuned for the next installment in which I'll show you some of the

treatment options that we use for shoulder pain here in my office and you

can get a little taste to see if perhaps we can help you with your problem. Our

website is ducatchiropractic.com and then spelled with D-U-C-A-T.

WATCH: Grace Maria Saves Homeless Man's Life in Encounter With Armed Police | Heavy.com

Grace Maria of Brandywine, Maryland, uses the Twitter handle GucciGrace.

In Washington D.C.

Wednesday, she noticed a homeless man in a potentially deadly encounter with police who were ordering him to the ground.

She began to record.

But more than that, she encouraged the man named Anthony, who pleads with her for help as he believes police will kill him, to follow police commands and even helps him to do so.

"I literally think I just saved someone's life… I'm shaking y'all…".

Her recording of the incident opens with a view of an officer pointing a gun at the man named Anthony telling him to get on the ground.

Anthony tells Grace "You see him trying to shoot me? You see him trying to shoot me? I ain't doing nothing to nobody.

You saw me sleeping, right?".

The officer is repeatedly directing him to "get on the ground." Then tells Grace to move away.

She declines. He says Anthony has knives.

Anthony shakes open his jacket and claims not to be armed and tells the officer that.

Grace pans the camera to what appears to be a knife in the cross walk.

The officer tells Anthony again to get on the ground.

That's when Grace goes from documentarian to participant.

Anthony begins to get on the ground and Grace then helps him get his hands behind his back al the while officers have guns drawn and command him to get on the ground and then, roll over, roll over" and put his hands behind his back saying "relax, relax.".

Anthony, said to be in his early 20s, was profiled on Invisible People.

He became homeless after his mother died of colon cancer.

He was alone but wound up o the streets.

He sleeps in Union Station in Washington D.C.

When he gets older, his dream was to build an orphanage.

And a food program for homeless kids.

All his dreams, he said, in helping other kids.

He said if he had three wishes he'd wish for a house, he'd give back daily to others and have "a nice job.".

Grace started a GoFundMe page to help Anthony.

Please consider donating whatever you can to help out the young man in this video.

He is in his early 20s and is homeless.

He sleeps in union station and his mother passed away from colon cancer.

His name is Anthony and I saved his life today while I was coming back from work.

Anthony wants his own place and hoes to open up an orphanage one day and to also start a feeding program.

Anthony almost lost his life today but I'm glad that he didn't.

His life matters.

All humans lives are precious.

I used to be homeless and having people to support me literally saved my life.

Please if you can, donate.

Anything you can donate is enough.

Love, Grace. The goal is $6,000.

As of Thursday at noon, that goal was surpassed by 350 people with mostly small donations.

Invisible People founder Mark Horvath explains its mission.

"I've seen amazingly good things happen when people who are homeless get the chance to tell their stories.

You should see someone's face when they realize another person actually wants to listen to them.

It should not be unusual for any of us to be seen, acknowledged, heard, or helped.

But for people used to being invisible, it can be a big, big deal.".

Invisible People is in the U.
