(loud zapping)
- Whoa. - What is that?
Um.
- Darling.
- Who the hell are you?
- My name is Mr. Mxyzptlk,
and Kara Zor-El, I love you.
- Episode 213 is called Mr. And Mrs. Mxyzptlk.
- Kara, sweet, it's like I said,
I'm your one true love, your soul mate,
your one true pairing as the kids say.
My name is Mr. Mxyzptlk and I love you Kara Zor-El.
- In the last episode, Kara and Mon-El almost kissed.
Except that Mr. well I'll call him Mxy,
(laughing)
shows up to declare his undying love for Supergirl.
- I don't know how you got to this planet,
but she's with me.
- So Mon-El is not very happy to have this dashing,
charming rival who can just snap his fingers
and make anything happen.
- I'm not gonna let some imp stalk you and live.
- I can take care of myself, Mon-El.
Let me handle it.
- He gets jealous and his jealousy does not
go over well with Kara.
- I need some advice about Valentine's Day.
- Oh my god, it's your first Valentine's Day with Maggie,
that's so exciting!
- Alex never got to enjoy Valentine's Day,
this is the first time she's been in a relationship
on Valentine's Day and she's really excited
to do all of the romantic and kind of cheesy things.
- I hate Valentine's Day.
- Maggie hates Valentine's Day.
(Alex chuckles)
- Me too.
- I knew we were right for each other, Danvers.
- This is an important episode in their relationship
because we learn the real backstory of how Maggie
was outed to her parents.
- Can I-- (groans)
- Put the human down!
- And Valentine's Day would not be complete
without a love story for Winn Schott,
and we introduce a new girlfriend,
an alien warrior girlfriend named Lyra.
- Have dinner with me tonight.
- Like a date?
- You do owe me, your life, so.
And it is Valentine's Day.

Medical Treatment in World War 1 I THE GREAT WAR Special - Duration: 9:44.
The First World War, for all of its horrors, was a time of enormous technological progress.
We talk in our regular episodes about the developments in flight, submarines, motorized
vehicles, soy sausages, the zipper, and so forth, but perhaps nowhere did advances come
as quickly and as often as in the field of medicine.
In fact, medicine advanced more in the four years of the war than in any other four-year
period in history either before or since.
I'm Indy Neidell; welcome to a Great War special episode about medical treatment during
the First World War.
Yes, medical treatment.
We'll cover other aspects of medicine in other specials, since it's a very large
topic.
When the war began, the world leaders in medicine were France, Germany, Britain, and Austria-Hungary.
Russia did have fine doctors, but not so many when compared to its enormous population.
Armies' Medical Corps were called on to treat wounds, disease, poison gas victims,
flamethrower victims, shell shock, and also to improve sanitary conditions in the trenches.
The work was extremely difficult, often dangerous, and had a myriad of challenges according to
each battlefront.
The initial challenge was to bring a wounded man away from the fighting to a medical facility,
since the sooner you received medical attention, the more likely you were to survive.
Many wounds were also contaminated and infected by the filth and the mud of life on the front
or in the trenches.
The Western Front, because of the stalemate, allowed the medical Corps to have well-organized
structured systems running from the front lines back to base, and even specialized hospitals
far from the front or back home in Britain, France, or Germany.
Wounded soldiers would be carried by stretcher bearers, often themselves under fire, to a
first aid station where wounds could be temporarily treated to allow further transport to more
sophisticated and better equipped facilities.
The British army Medical Corps, as an example, had an evacuation plan as follows.
Stretcher-bearers brought the wounded to a Regimental Aid Post, then an advanced Dressing
Station, where the particular case would begin to be documented, and then they'd be transported
to a Casualty Clearing Station, which was a large unit with seven medical officers and
a substantial staff to help the doctors.
If they were expecting combat, then surgical teams would join these stations.
They were about 20 kilometers from the front, and usually treated a minimum of 200 soldiers,
though this number could exceed 1,000 during heavy fighting.
This was really the first place the soldier entered that was like a full-service hospital;
with actual operating tents and rooms, and the first place he'd see a nurse.
It might well also be the last, as evidenced by the large military cemeteries located near
Casualty Clearing Stations.
A side note here - the British had used X-Ray machines in the Boer Wars, so they had them
here pretty much from the beginning of this war.
Badly wounded soldiers might remain at the stations for a few weeks, and then be sent
to General, Stationary, or Base Area Hospitals, specialized hospitals for victims of gas,
venereal disease, shell shock, or epidemics.
They might also be sent to a hospital back home.
In the German army, wounded soldiers wore two information tags.
One to show what injury was diagnosed and the other to show what treatment had already
been given.
As you may imagine, whatever the soldier's nationality, if he had superficial wounds
he may well be glad to enter the chain of evacuation to have a break from the front
until it was determined that he needed no further treatment and was sent back up.
Russia was faced with different problems.
For example, they trained thousands of new nurses but had a tough time transporting them
to where they were needed.
Interestingly, the Tsarina and her daughters became nurses, and as you may imagine, nurses
with titles were able to get postings far from the gruesome reality of the front.
When the war broke out, the first wounded Russians were put on trains and sent to Petrograd,
where they were just left at the station because no plans had been made to receive them.
Now, the Eastern Front was not static like in the west and so you couldn't really build
semi-permanent medical facilities, and the fluctuations in the Eastern Front kind of
assured that soldiers quickly getting good medical treatment would be few and far between.
By 1917, wounded Russian soldiers, loaded onto trains, might wait four or five days
for basic medical care.
The death of doctors prompted foreign nationals to join the Russian Medical Corps.
American surgeon Dr. Malcolm Grow volunteered, was eventually awarded the Cross of St. George
by the Tsar personally, and would later become the first Surgeon General of the United States
Air Force and a Major General.
As I said, different fronts presented different problems, and one real front-specific problem
was malaria on the Salonika Front.
Up to 40% of the British and French soldiers there were disabled by malaria, and it killed
more troops there than combat did.
People referred to the Salonika Expeditionary Force one giant infirmary.
During the course of the war, over 1.5 million troops in total were infected with malaria.
But that was just a fraction of the millions upon millions of sick and wounded soldiers
the war produced.
Mud, filth, feces, rotting corpses, stagnant water, rats, and tightly packed men in trenches
produced some of the worst sanitary conditions possible.
When food was scarce, things got even worse as soldiers became more susceptible to disease.
Illnesses and epidemics were sometimes more deadly than the war itself.
The Spanish flu, which we'll cover in detail later on, took about as many American soldiers
as combat did, and they were being ravaged by it even while still training at home in
the states.
But as a result of the enormous number and variety of wounds and illnesses, medicine
made great leaps and bounds.
Cellucotton, blood transfusions, and blood banks were big advances that grew out of the
war.
Motorized ambulances transported the wounded at a faster rate and mobile x-ray machines
could scan the wounded immediately.
Plastic surgery was invented for the hundreds of thousands of disfigured men whose faces
were too terrifying for them to lead normal lives.
Morphine had been around for decades, but it was used extensively and effectively as
a painkiller, and sphagnum moss turned out to be an excellent dressing for war wounds.
It's light, has antiseptic properties, absorbs many times its own weight in fluids, and grows
throughout Britain.
Another thing that was discovered was the sterile properties of maggots.
Yeah, you heard that right.
A badly wounded soldier stuck in no-mans land for two days was finally brought in.
The wounds he had were typically fatal because of infection, but the doctor attending him
saw that the wounds were clean; there was new pink growth, and no infection.
The wound WAS, though, covered in maggots.
That doctor was a professor of surgery at Johns Hopkins Medical School and he publicized
his findings.
Research found that the maggots had medicinal properties; they ate only dead tissue, so
they in fact cleaned the wounds, they crawled into tiny recesses where topical antiseptics
couldn't be applied, they gave off urea, which itself is an antiseptic that destroys
staphylococcus and other bacteria, and they promoted the growth of healthy tissue.
Penicillin wasn't invented yet and until it became widespread, maggots were cutting
edge medical treatment.
They've even made a comeback today for use with certain skin ulcers.
The advances in medical treatment and medical technology changed the nature of war and the
wounded.
When the war began, if you were badly wounded you very probably died, but by 1918 you very
probably lived.
That is an enormous difference.
Even because of just one advance, the Thomas splint, you could see a huge difference.
In 1914, 80% of soldiers with broken femurs died, but because of the splint, by 1916 80%
of soldiers with broken femurs lived.
But the advances in the organization of medicine, and the chain of treatment, particularly caused
by the stalemate of the Western Front, were reflected first at home in Britain, France,
and Germany, and then the rest of the world, with chains of organization eventually creating
the modern medical systems of hospitals, clinics, and ambulances that we rely on today, rather
than simply a local general practitioner or a cottage hospital run by a charity.
And that is perhaps the biggest advance of them all.
Thanks to John Dewar Gleissner for helping with the research for this episode.
He actually wrote a whole book about the use of maggots in medicine and you can check that
out by following the link in the dublidu.

Shredding Bacteria With Technology From Insect Wings - Duration: 1:56.
Hey, everybody, Matt here for a DNews Short.
There may come a day when you'll have dragonflies to thank for improving your health.
Turns out, dragonflies are helping scientists develop smarter medical devices based on the
unique bacteria-killing abilities of their wings.
Scientists have known for a while that dragonfly wings are composed of nanopillars, which are
small, spike-like pillars on the surface of the wings.
But a new study in ASC Applied Materials & Interfaces found that these nanopillars play a role in
killing bacteria by physically ripping them apart.
The pillars are of varying sizes and look similar to what scientists have referred to
as a bed of nails.
However, instead of puncturing the bacterial membrane, as researchers previously thought,
the new study found that the bacteria secrete a substance that traps them in the pillars.
You can see in this image here how the bacteria become stuck on the dragonfly wing.
When the bacteria try to move, the force of their adhesion to the nanopillars tears them
apart, spilling out their contents and killing the bacteria.
Ouch!
Dragonflies aren't the only insects with this winged superpower.
The nanostructures of cicada wings are built similarly.
However, cicada nanopillars aren't tall enough to kill certain bacteria that have
thick membranes, like MRSA and strep, whereas dragonfly nanopillars can.
Inspired by the dragonfly and cicada wings, scientists have started developing medical
materials that mimic the structure of nanopillars in hopes of creating versatile bacteria-killing
surfaces.
The science has already made its way onto many medical tools and could be used on food-processing
and even in public facilities.
These bacteria-ripping materials could have a tremendous impact on everything from the
operating room to Monday morning's busy commute.
However, research is still very much underway, and it could be a while before you can clutch
the railing of a crowded bus and not worry about catching the next bug.
But when that time does come, I guarantee, it'll be all the buzz.
But did you know there are actually bacteria-eating viruses?
Check out this video to learn more.
So what surface would you most want to be covered in antibacterial coating?

6 Secrets To Defeating Deadpool - Duration: 6:46.
Filmgoers have finally discovered something Deadpool's longtime comics fans have known
for a while: the Merc with a Mouth is nearly impossible to kill.
He soaks up bullets, survives buildings burning down, and even regrows a hand in the weirdest
way possible.
"Am I crazy, or is your hand really small?"
"About the size of a KFC spork."
It's easy to leave the theater wondering exactly how anyone could ever defeat someone with
such an amazing healing factor.
Fortunately, years of Deadpool comics have offered an array of techniques for accomplishing
just such a goal.
Supervillains, avert your eyes!
Here are just a few ways to defeat Deadpool.
It takes a planet
Like most Marvel characters, Deadpool has died in the comics, and in a pretty staggering
variety of ways.
He recently bit the big chimichanga in Deadpool #45… when an entire planet fell on him.
Which isn't too out of line for a normal Deadpool adventure anyhow.
Deadpool was just one of many casualties during Marvel's latest Secret Wars event, in which
different parallel worlds collide with each other, with the intention of thinning out
the complicated multiverse and making Marvel Comics a bit more reader-friendly.
By the end of the story, there are just two parallel Earths — the one we know and love,
and Marvel's Ultimates Earth, which smack into one another.
Like most comic book deaths, this was a temporary arrangement, as Mr. Fantastic and his family
eventually helped recreate the entire multiverse, Deadpool included.
The event certainly cements that there are some things even Deadpool's healing factor
can't take on… like reality falling apart.
Take away his powers
Deadpool's main thing is his impressive mutant healing factor, which allows him to bounce
back from nearly anything.
Without the ability to regrow body parts, he's just a guy with a lot of weapons, a very
sick human body, and no sense of self-preservation.
So, how can you steal Deadpool's mojo?
"I'm gonna get ya!
I'm gonna get ya!
Ah shakin' my milkshake!"
When it comes de-powering super-people, there are a surprising number of options.
Scarlet Witch notably stripped most mutants of their powers during Marvel's House of M
event, but if you don't want the nuclear option, there's always the mutant Leech.
As his unfortunate name implies, Leech has the ability to effectively turn off the powers
of nearby super-humans and mutants.
If Deadpool were in the same general area as Leech, he could be killed just like a regular
person, providing you could get past the dozens of machine guns and swords he usually carries.
Yea, good luck with that.
He also barely escaped death when confronting the Walrus, a villain with a magic, power-cancelling
hammer.
So, where physical violence will usually fail, a little bit of magic goes a long way.
Science!
If you don't want to rely on superpowers, there's also science.
The answer could be as simple as the special serum used in Deadpool #54, which made him
handsome, but also took away his healing factor.
Don't have access to a chemistry set?
Carbonadium is also an option.
Like vibranium and adamantium, carbonadium is another fictional Marvel metal that villains
like Doctor Octopus and Omega Red have used over the years.
It's one of the reasons Omega Red is such a deadly foe for Wolverine: his radioactive
tentacles are able to negate Logan's healing factor.
While Deadpool hasn't felt the deadly sting of carbonadium himself, a Deadpool from a
parallel universe used some carbonadium katanas as he killed every living hero.
The swords were able to successfully decapitate Wolverine and turn off his healing factor
— so no one is safe.
Cure his cancer
The sad truth is that without his hyperactive healing powers, Deadpool would have already
died from especially aggressive cancer.
Fortunately, his healing factor is in harmony with the disease, helping him to grow new
cells at the exact rate that he loses them, even though it doesn't really fix his freaky
face.
As a result, Deadpool's level of healing seems to be a bit above the usual Wolverine levels.
This was demonstrated in a rather grisly way when a group of Skrulls decided to steal Deadpool's
powers for themselves... but didn't steal his illness.
That meant that their bodies were healing way too much, way too fast, causing the Skrull
warriors to become swollen and deformed until they exploded.
Theoretically, the same thing would happen to Deadpool if any enterprising villain were
able to cure his cancer.
It's just too much of a good thing.
Give him the feels
Despite often being written as an insane and violent parody, one consistent quality Deadpool
has is that he forms strong bonds with friends, teammates, and kids.
Who else could have formed a rapport with Negasonic Teenage Warhead?
"You, Chicken Noodle.
Nothing compares to you.
Sinead O'Connor.
1990.
Sorry."
"That's alright.
You're cool."
That bonding with young people is rooted in the comics as well, with Deadpool forming
a protective relationship with Evan, a young clone of Apocalypse.
What does this have to do with defeating Deadpool?
Well, in true comics tradition, he's just like every other hero; he's easily manipulated
when it comes to people he cares about.
"WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME!?"
Deadpool was willing to risk his own life in order to redeem Evan and stop him from
going down the dark path of Apocalypse.
All it takes is a little emotional leverage to defeat Deadpool.
A broken heart might not kill him, but it would totally keep him out of action for a
while.
Heroes and Villains
Even before a planet was dropped on him, both good guys and bad guys have actually been
defeating Deadpool for years.
Thanos is one of the biggest villains in the Marvel Universe.
Even when he isn't wielding the Infinity Gauntlet, he's able to obliterate characters that are
otherwise really difficult to kill.
Wasting no time, Thanos kills Deadpool on the second page of the four-issue Deadpool
vs. Thanos miniseries.
Deadpool is legitimately dead… until he's brought back to life by Death herself, who,
of course, has a crush on Deadpool.
And that's not even the last all-powerful opponent that tangled with Wade.
Loki was actually able to defeat Deadpool in the most bizarre way possible.
Forget about magic and powerful Asgardian weapons, which would probably do a good job
cutting Deadpool down to size.
Loki's curse results in Deadpool being annoyed by almost everything in his life, and the
creation of possibly the best Deadpool costume of all time.
And as a twisted bonus, the curse also prevents Deadpool from killing himself whenever he
tries.
It's crazy, even for Deadpool.
The potential to defeat Deadpool seems to lie in the hands of any number of Marvel characters.
The Sentry, with his Superman-level strength and his willingness to kill, has a reputation
for throwing people into the sun, which Deadpool probably wouldn't be able to recover from.
Mister Fantastic is known for trapping people in inescapable pocket universes.
Molecule Man can control matter at an atomic level, and a Deadpool without atoms is no
Deadpool at all.
And we're not saying that Squirrel Girl can defeat just about anyone….
But Squirrel Girl.
"All I see are squirrels!
Horrible Horrible Squirrels!"

SPEED DRAWING #7 - My Deer - Duration: 2:12.
-------------------------------------------
DHS Memos: Speed Up Mass Deportations & Prosecute Parents Who Help Undocumented Children Enter U.S. - Duration: 4:16.
JUAN GONZÁLEZ: Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly has drafted sweeping new guidelines
to more aggressively detain and deport hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants.
The memos instruct federal agencies to begin hiring 10,000 more Immigration and Customs
Enforcement agents, as well as 5,000 more Border Patrol agents.
McClatchy is reporting hundreds of thousands more undocumented immigrants in the United
States would be subject to what's known as expedited removal proceedings to quickly
get them out of the country.
According to McClatchy, children who arrived in the United States as unaccompanied minors
would no longer be protected against deportation, and their parents would be subject to criminal
prosecution if they had paid human traffickers to bring their children across the border.
Homeland Security Director Kelly has signed off on the memos, but White House officials
say they are not official yet.
Well, for more, we're joined by two guests.
Franco Ordoñez is a White House correspondent for the McClatchy Washington Bureau.
His latest article is "DHS chief proposes prosecuting parents of children smuggled into
U.S."
And Tim Warden-Hertz is the directing attorney for the Tacoma office of the Northwest Immigrant
Rights Project.
Welcome, both of you, to Democracy Now!
I'd like to begin with Franco Ordoñez.
Tell us about these memos that you uncovered and what specifically they say.
FRANCO ORDOÑEZ: They're pretty—they're pretty amazing.
I mean, as you pointed out, they dramatically increase the number of immigrants who could
be targeted for deportation.
Essentially, they wipe away many of the prosecutorial discretion, many of the protections that President
Obama had put in place.
And as you noted, many of the children who were unaccompanied minors, if they arrived
here and were reunited with a parent—and the White House says it's about 60 percent
of them do—they may not get those same protections after they're reunited with their parents.
And the parents themselves, they could face prosecutorial—pardon me, they could face
prosecution, because the way the White House sees it, or at least according to these memos,
these draft memos, they are aiding and abetting human traffickers by paying them to bring
their children over.
So many more people would be targeted.
The idea is that the expedited removal would be incredibly expanded.
And currently it's about two weeks you can expedite remove someone.
This order says that it would be two years.
So we're talking tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of people could be
removed very quickly, according to these orders.
JUAN GONZÁLEZ: Now, what does it mean?
The White House is claiming that these are only drafts, yet the homeland security secretary
has signed off on them.
Could you explain the difference in the definition here?
FRANCO ORDOÑEZ: It's a great question.
It's the same question that I had for the White House.
I was actually talking with the White House last night about that.
And the way that the White House explained it to me is, essentially, these orders are,
quote-unquote, "the final cut" of the Department of Homeland Security.
However, they are—they apply to Donald Trump's executive order, therefore they have the final
say.
And according to the White House, they had some questions.
They had some issues with some of the language.
They didn't say what specifically.
They wouldn't give me the details, but that they are working with the Department of Homeland
Security to kind of iron out those differences, do their due diligence.
You've got to remember, as you pointed out, we've had so many protests.
The travel ban was blocked by the Seattle federal judge.
I think they're trying to be a little bit more careful.
They don't want that type of—they don't want that experience again.
And I can assure you, I've talked to lawyers and the advocacy community, and they're
getting ready to fight this, as well.

(COMING OF AGE: CHINA AFTER BEIJING 2008)
(SPORTS SCHOOL 2.0: CHINA'S CRADLE OF CHAMPIONS TRANSFORMS)
The nationalism mandate on sports schools in China is reforming
so that education is equally emphasised in sports schools.
It is a paradigm shift as China enters a new era.
In the past, when we mentioned "student athletes",
the phrase connotes having well-developed limbs
but an undeveloped mind.
That was the former impression of students from sports schools.
It had many consequences.
Once they are no longer involved in sports
or when they retire,
it affected their lives, their future was bleak.
Previously, in sports schools,
students' academic success was not emphasised.
However, with China becoming more powerful
and more open to the world,
Chinese athletes need to be better set up for life after sports.
The government has put a lot of emphasis on raising
the academic levels in sports schools.
So in recent years,
we have gradually put more and more effort
into academic subjects and development.
Because of the government's reforms in sports,
we have become much more
strict about raising academic standards.
This is a new mandate, it is unlike the past.
The result is that now academic standards
are just as important as athletic training.
Chicken, mutton, tomato.
Can I help you?
Yes, I'd like some noodles, please.
Initially, with the establishment
of sports schools, student athletes were encouraged
to only pursue gold medals.
Literacy and education were secondary.
Then our student enrollment rate began to decline.
So we pioneered a way for sports schools to integrate
sports and education,
to reinvigorate the national sports school system.
We saw that many Chinese parents no longer want
their children with sporting talent to enrol in sports schools.
The purpose of implementing these new measures
is to alleviate the worries of society, schools and parents.
The number of graduates of our school each year
is about 120 to 130.
After the 2008 Olympic Games, we provided
several options for graduates.
First option, we recommend our most talented athletes
to professional teams,
50 to 60 students every year.
This includes national teams, provincial teams
and provincial youth teams.
Second option, we enrol students in higher-education institutes,
about 40 to 45 students per year.
These two options cover 75% to 80% of students.
For the remaining 20% of students, we work together
with vocational institutes that offer apprenticeships.
While other students enrol into the military.
So in general, every year,
the future for all our graduates
is very promising.
Qingdao Sports School is the best school in Shandong Province.
Why is that?
It is because no matter in terms of grades
or university enrollment rates,
we are number one in the province.
We are also in first place when it comes to
athletic achievements of our students.
My daily schedule here is that
after breakfast in the morning,
we have morning exercises, and then we go for classes.
We have trainings in the afternoon
and we self-study in the evening.
There are classes and academic sessions every day.
During our down time in the afternoon,
we'll continue training in our specialised sport.
In this school, both training and life can be very hectic.
After training, I shower, have dinner
and go straight into self-study sessions.
After the self-study session, I would go back to my dorm.
The seniors in the school will supervise us in our homework,
and I'll go to bed after. This is my daily routine.
It's a very fast-paced life here.
I sometimes wish I could spend my youth differently,
like a normal teenager.
Because we can't just be
reckless and get into mischief with our friends.
We become mature much quicker than other teenagers.
And I do feel it could be somewhat unfortunate.
Before I was enrolled here, I was in a normal school.
It was the Olympic year
and everyone was talking about One World, One Dream.
The Olympic Games seemed like a great stage to be on.
My biggest dream is
of course to participate in the Olympic Games.
I really hope and expect that day will come.
To me, winning a gold medal
is not about gaining fame or fulfilling some vanity.
I just want to discover my fullest potential.
I want to know what I can achieve.
I just want to be a representative
to challenge the limits of mankind,
to see how far I can truly go.
I came to this school to realise my dream.
I have always liked sports since I was a child.
I was recruited by a coach from this school
to be a student here, and be groomed.
I was interested, so I was enrolled.
After I was recruited by the coach here,
my family was initially very concerned
because it's very far from home.
My parents were worried about me.
But I like it here, I like this sport.
So they grew supportive, very supportive.
After I came here, I grew in confidence.
This is an experience.
A life experience.
We have classes in the morning and training in the afternoon.
I have a very close relationship with our coach.
I feel I have become more mature here.
I am no longer a child, I'm much more mature now.
Maybe it has something to do with practising boxing,
because this is a sport that requires wisdom and bravery.
I train as a boxer and Zou Shiming is my hero.
My dream is to win an Olympic gold medal.
That is the dream of every student at this sports school.
(BOXING WAS BANNED IN CHINA UNTIL THE 1980S)
(ZOU SHIMING WON CHINA'S FIRST EVER GOLD MEDAL)
(IN OLYMPIC BOXING IN 2008)
(AND REPEATED AS OLYMPIC CHAMPION IN 2012)
The second successive Games,
Zou Shiming as the Olympic gold medallist
in the light flyweight division.
China will never, ever, I'm sure,
produce a boxer as good as this fellow.

Quantum Mechanics With Cookies - Duration: 2:35.
Over the years, a number of people -- zero is a number -- have asked me to make a video
explaining the observer effect of quantum mechanics using a tray of strawberry cookies
and Mr. Piggles.
I've resisted, because I'm not really the person best qualified for the job.
But in the spirit of the times....
We have here our quanta.
They're not actual size.
They've been scaled up.
Now, the important thing to remember about our cookie-quanta is that they're either
one thing or the other.
There is no inbetween state.
It's binary.
They're either plain side up or plain side down.
At no stage can they be half-strawberry/half-plain.
Or on their side.
Or...
It just occurred to me I don't really need the pig.
The pig was going to be the catalyst, but that might just confuse the issue.
Screw it.
The pig's is the catalyst.
So here's our conceit: These quanta-cookies react when they're in the presence of Mr.
Piggles.
They start plain-side up, but the pig-catalyst flips them to plain-side down.
He doesn't do anything.
He just sits there.
Mr. Piggles is innocent in all this...
And it takes ten minutes for all the cookies to turn.
When they're not observed .. It's probably easier to show you.
There.
Simple.
Now, here's where it gets trickier.
We re-run the experiment.
This time we come back after five minutes.
So we're halfway through our ten minute countdown.
And half the cookies have turned over.
Makes sense, yes?
That's what you would have expected.
Well, what if we place the cloth back over them and give them the other five minutes...?
Were you expecting all the cookies to have all turned?
Well, no, because you see when we observed them halfway through it reset the clock.
The 50% of cookies that hadn't turned when we looked at five minutes were now going to
take ten minutes to all react to the pig.
So when we interrupted the process at ten minutes, only half of that 50% had turned.
And that's basically the Observer Effect of Quantum Mechanics explained in a way that
nobody could possibly have any remaining questions...
Build the wall.
What's that?
BUILD THE WALL.
Ah, now that's unfortunate.
BUILD THE WALL!
BUILD THE WALL!
BUILD THE WALL!
I'm sorry about this, ladies and gentlemen, this presentation has taken an unexpected
turn...
... I'm just not sure --- do I keep 'em under observation or put the cloth back over
them?
Do we reason with them?
The analogy may not have been fully thought through...

Put Garlic Under Your Pillow and This Will Happen to You - Duration: 3:20.
Garlic is a very common food found in many kitchens throughout the world and has been around for hundreds of years.
While it has been used to season food, it has also been placed in many home remedies for years.
Because garlic is such a versatile ingredient, it has many beneficial qualities.
Garlic has been used to flavor dishes, get rid of pests, and even play into superstitions of chasing away vampires.
Whatever the reason, we do know that garlic is a nutrient-dense food.
It has many important qualities and can benefit your health in many ways.
Garlic is actually a food that is high in calories, up to 100 calories per 100 grams.
However, no one truly consumes that much garlic so it is nearly impossible to gain weight eating garlic alone.
Garlic has both complex carbohydrates and proteins that both improve your physical performance and mental health.
Garlic is also high in vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin B, Sodium, Potassium, and Magnesium.
It also is high in Allicin, which is a compound composed of sulfur.
Garlic can treat infections, metabolic disorders, and respiratory problems.
It contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory which assist in cardiovascular health.
It reduces the body's cholesterol levels and regulates the body's blood pressure.
It can also help with increasing the body's blood flow and preventing premature aging.
It can also kill germs better than some prescribed antibiotics.
It can also help fight fluid buildup in the body and inflammation in the body's tissues.
Garlic can improve pretty much every aspect of your bodily functions.
Why would I put garlic under my pillow?
This is an old family secret that has been used to improve sleep for generations.
This is especially helpful to people who have difficulty falling asleep.
Garlic's sulfur containing compounds and its strong aroma have a calming effect and can help your quality sleep.
Garlic's aroma is strong and can be difficult; however, after a few days, you will get used
to it and you will be sleeping so soundly, you will not even notice.
Garlic also has a positive effect on your performance throughout the day and it helps at night to recharge for the next day.
Another way to experience of the benefits of garlic's ability to help sleep involves
preparing a natural drink that will help you relax:
Ingredients:
(A) 1 glass milk (B) 1 clove garlic, crushed (C) 1 teaspoon honey
Directions: Combine the garlic and milk in a saucepan and heat until boiling.
- Let boil for 3 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.- Add the honey and drink.
- You should drink it around 30 minutes before bed for best results.
In addition to being one of the best seasonings, garlic is a powerful ally for your health and will treat sleep problems.

9 Signs He's Just Not That Into You | James M Sama - Duration: 4:02.
Hey there, James Michael Sama with sexyconfidence.com, where we help the 21st century woman create
a love life that she absolutely loves.
In this week's video, we're going to talk about signs that he's just not that into you,
so stay tuned.
Sometimes it's just as important to know when someone is not into as when they are into
you.
This can save you time, energy, and heartbreak.
So here are 10 signs that he's just not that into you.
Number one, he doesn't show real interest in you.
Any guy can compliment you or take you out for drinks, but I'm talking about real interest.
What is your family like?
What are you passions?
What are your goals in life?
If a man isn't showing real, genuine interest in you as a person, then he's just not that
into you.
Number two, he doesn't plan in advance.
Could the next time you're seeing him be the last time that you see him?
Do you never know when you're going to be getting together again next?
If a man is really into you, he'll be looking forward to the next time he gets to see you,
like it's a privilege.
He'll generally plan ahead and talk about next steps.
If he seems to always be playing these things by ear, he probably is, because he doesn't
know who he's going to be going out with next.
Number three, there's no PDA.
PDA, public display of affection.
Now, not all guys are the affectionate type, and that's fine.
But there's a difference between not being affectionate and trying to look single.
If a guy's out with you and you feel more like a sister than his date, then he's just
not that into you.
Men show their affection through physical gestures, so pay attention to this.
Number four, you don't meet his friends or family.
A man who's serious about you will want you to meet the people who are important to him.
He'll want to show you off.
He's going to be proud to be with you.
If a man is keeping you from his friends or family or making excuses why you're not meeting
them, then he's just not that into you.
Number five, consistency.
I hear this from women a lot.
Men being hot and cold, and hot and cold.
If a man is hot and cold, it probably means he's exploring other options, other women,
and he's not sold on committing to you.
Consistency is key because that is the foundation of trust, which is important to any relationship.
If you never know what you're going to get with him, then he's just not that interested.
Number six, he's always busy.
We all lead busy lives.
Work or the gym, or family or friends.
Time is short, but men make time for their priorities.
If a man really wants to see you, he will make time for you.
No excuses, no lies, and no broken promises.
Number seven, he treats everyone how he treats you.
Now, yes, it's important for a man to be kind and flirty towards you, of course, but what
if he's kind and flirty towards everyone else?
Like the waitress or the bartender or the barista.
You should be special and unique in his life and he should treat you that way.
Number eight, he refuses to talk about your relationship status.
A man who's really into you will not be terrified of committing to you.
Assuming that you've been dating for more than a few months, then it's totally fair
to expect a committed relationship.
Number nine, he mistreats you in any way.
Now, this is very important and I wanted to add this in here for a reason.
Any man who consistently hurts you emotionally or physically does not love you.
You do not want hurt people that you love.
You do not constantly betray people that you love.
You do not lie to people you love just to save your own ass.
Have the courage to remove people from your life who are toxic and harmful.
You deserve more.
So now that you've got these signs that somebody's just not that into you, comment below and
let me know which ones you've experienced before.
And don't forget, click here to subscribe to my email list where you'll get videos just
like this one in your inbox every single week.
Thanks for watching and we'll see you next week.

Top 43 Men's Classic Style Blogs, Youtube Channels, Instagram & Tumblr - Duration: 9:55.
Welcome back to the Gentleman's Gazette!
In today's video, we discuss the 43 best men's classic style blogs, YouTube channels, Instagram
and tumblrs.
So what do you mean by classic men's style?
We mean timeless elegance that is not trend driven.
We talk about quality, not about quantity.
We just want you to look great without having to worry that you need to change something
anytime soon.
Let's start with our top 10 classic style blogs because there are a lot of them out
there and we try to identify the best ones.
Now, best in general is very relative and subjective, therefore, we list them in alphabetical
order so you can figure out what works for you.
The first blog to look at is articles of style.
It features a lot of awesome photography.
It has gone through a lot of iterations name-wise but the style has always been classic and
in the last year, they added on their own clothing line but nevertheless, they continue
to produce high quality content especially original photography that I really like and
it's truly inspirational.
To learn more about the article of style's philosophy, please check out our video interview
with the founder, Dan, here.
Next up, Claymoor's list.
It's a blog dedicated to shoes entirely and it has a rich history with interviews, photos,
lots of inspirations so if you like shoes, head over there.
Die, Workwear! is a wonderful blog.
It's very detailed, it talks about niche things and one thing that it does really well is
that it provides a lot of pictures that are truly inspirational.
So if you're interested in the craftsmanship, this is a blog to watch.
HeSpoke Style stands out because he has not just the classic style but also a very high
quality photography which is why I always go back there to take a look.
To learn more about the founder, Brian Sacawa, please check out our video interview with
him, here.
next up is Milanese special selection.
It's a blog that's in French and features bespoke shirts, suits, shoes, ad anything
else you could get custom made.
While the name implies that it's just focused on Milan, it extends way beyond that, if you
can't speak French, use google translator.
Another French contender is the Parisian Gentleman.
Run by Hugo Jacomet and Sonya Nicholson.
It dedicates its writing to longer articles, the way we like them.
They are very detailed, they are about style, as well as bespoke and craftsmanship.
Another well-known blog is Permanent Style and Simon Crompton.
You can check out our video interview with him here.
They focus on luxurious goods, bespoke, English and Italian mainly but also French and other
houses from around the world.
Simon is a very good writer and you can definitely check it out.
A smaller blog that I personally really like is called Sartorial notes.
It's run by the Danish Torsten Grunwald.
He's very tall himself and so he loves bespoke but he also explores more continental tailoring
and or that reason, I include him in the list.
Next up is street x sprezza which is a blog by Ethan Wong.
And you can read our interview with him, here.
He's a shorter guy, a younger guy who loves vintage and buying suits on a budget so if
that sounds like you, please head over there.
If you like a clean business-like modern aesthetic, you should take a look at the Nordic Fit.
Juho runs a tumblr there but he also writes articles and has nice outfit inspirations
that are subtle yet unique and not over the top.
For bonus blogs about classic men's style please head on over to our full guide on our
website, here.
Next up let's talk about the 10 best men's style YouTube channels.
We included everything that is related to men's style and not too fashion driven.
The biggest channel out there is undoubtedly AlphaM run by Aaron Marino, covers everything
from grooming, style, and self-improvement and you can check out our interview with Aaron
here.
Definitely worth the look.
Second comes Real Men Real Style which is run by my friend Antonio Centeno.
He is focused on the average dude who simply wants to improve his style and recognizes
that the clothes really matter, they have an impact on their career and their life.
He has lots of videos, lots of illustrations and it's definitely worth the look.
To learn more about him personally, check out our interview, here.
Third channel you should check out is Teaching Men's Fashion which is run by Jose Zuniga
and they're based out of Florida and they focus not just on fashion but also on style,
they're more focused towards millennials, so if that's you, head over there.
The 4th channel that's really good is the modest man which focuses on men of shorter
height but in general, his tips are good and apply to all men.
If you want to check out an interview with Brock and to learn more about short men style,
head over here.
Channel number 5 is Ashley Weston. She's a celebrity menswear stylist from Hollywood
and she has a bubbly personality and just has a woman's take on men's style.
Channel number 6 is the Gent's lounge.
It's a duo of two young men who focus on millennials and they have good tips about clothing, boots,
and shoes.
Channel number 7 is masculine style by Tanner Guzy which is more of a vlog style and he
discusses the philosophy of dressing and how it impacts others around you.
Channel number 8 is Paul McGregor from the UK.
He focuses on self-improvement, as well as clothes, style for the younger European or
British gent.
Number 9, it's again HeSpoke Style, Brian Sacawa, also has a YouTube channel and while
ha had stopped for a while, it seems like he picked it back up and the aesthetic is
in a very high level which is why we included him here.
Last but not the least, there is the Gentleman's Journal which is a print magazine with a YouTube
channel that focuses on 90 second videos or anything less than that.
Next up, let's talk about our 10 favorite instagrammers.
First of all, I like BnTailor from Korea which is a bespoke tailor and they have beautiful
outfits that show their tailoring as well as combinations.
Second is Fabio Attanasio from the Bespoke Dudes, he's a Neapolitan based in Milan who
focus a lot on bespoke and has his own sunglass line.
Another usual suspect, heSpoke style.Very high-quality photography and that shows also
in his Instagram channel.
Next up is menswear writer Aleks Cvetkovic.
We interviewed him before on our channel and he has a very unique style of combining classic
clothing with a twist.
If you're into shoes, definitely check out Dandy Shoe care because they do custom patinas
and although it's a new channel, they have beautiful photos and stunning examples of
how to polish your shoes.
If you're a white collar office worker, check out Dresslikea from Atte from Finland who's
a labor lawyer and has a very subdued style that is unique and bespoke driven.
For a more Scandinavian take on style, check out Andreas Weinas and we have an interview
with him here.
He has a beard, likes monochrome outfits, and is overall a very stylish person.
For a more Eastern European slash London take on Fashion, please check out Mikolaj's Blue
Loafers where he focuses on bespoke things, off the rack things, and he just has a very
good way of combining colors.
If you enjoy vintage fashion or 1920s and 30s, definitely check out Dandy Wellington
because he lives and breathes this style with every ounce of his body.
For a bonus instagrammer, please check out our website here.
Last but not the least, let's talk about tumblr which I like for visual inspiration.
Pictures are much larger than Instagram, you can really see the details and I personally
really appreciate that.
Personally, my favorite tumblr is voxsartoria because he combines his sublime personal outfits
and style with vintage movie star photos which are very in-depth and usually a series so,
if you want inspiration from different decades, definitely check it out.
Second is Sprezzatura Eleganza which is a blog, lots of outfit inspirations, they constantly
post new pictures and I just like to look at it to get a better idea of what I want
to do.
Third is Italian industrialist intellectual style. As the name implies, it focuses more
on CEOs of Italy which is a lot less colorful and more subdued than what you might know
from Pitti Uomo.
The same goes for Agnelli-esque which has a great selection of pictures of seasoned
gentlemen but also sme younger chaps that are timeless.
Forno is a wonderful tumblr thatfeatures young and old as long as they have classic men's
style.
Italian cut is very much focused on Italian style or Italian interpretation of style.
Treviorum is a collection of wonderful outfits and although not updated very often, it's
an excellent archive to look up vintage outfits for men.
Another personal favorite is Le Grimod which is run by the German haberdasher who is very
tall and has a very unusual, unique, and classic style and he posts a lot of outfit combinations
which are a great inspiration for your outfits.

Neutral vs Ground - Difference between Earthing and Neutral - Duration: 1:32.
The Neutral and Ground are generally connected together at your service panel, not at your
devices.
At the device, neutral is the path for return current.
All the current that comes "from" the hot leg "returns" through the neutral wire.
I'm using quote marks because current actually alternates directions in an AC system.
Hence the name AC.
Anyway, the ground wire should only carry current in the case of a fault condition.
In the USA, residential ground wires are often just bare, uncovered copper.
When plugging in a grounded appliance or other device, the ground wire gets attached to the
chassis.
In this video I will explain difference between neutral and ground.
If you like my video please subscribe my channel.
Neutral is the normal or return wire.
but, earth or ground wire is a safety protective wire for the human body and electrical equipments
from fault condition.
Neutral is a conductor that carries current in normal operation.
on other hand, earth is a conductor that carries no current in normal operation.
Neutral represents a reference point within an electrical distribution system.
but, earth is a conductor that carries current under fault conditions such as insulation
breakdown that occurs within electrical equipment.
Thanks for watching my video.

Empties #9 : Products I've used up ♡ I prodotti che ho terminato | Giugizu - Duration: 23:58.
>> Hi ya'll and welcome or welcome back to my channel
for those of you who don't know me, Hi, I'm Giuliana
I upload new videos every monday and friday
so if you haven't yet subscribe in order not to miss any
That said let's get to today's video, which - as you may have guessed from the title-
it's an empties one, which means that I'm going to show you all the products I finished up in the past months.
The empties series has been going on for a while on my channel
I think this is ...
the 9th or 10th instalment, I'm not sure
Anyway if you're not familiar with the format I'll quickly explain it to you
I'm going to show you the products I finished up sharing a short review
so that you'll know if I liked them a lot or not so much
and if I plan to buy them again or not.
I can't remember when I uploaded my last empties video, but I think it was a while ago
because my empties box
is overloaded with a million products, so I think we should definitely get started right now!
There won't be any particular order, I'll grab the products randomly
and the first one is Fresh Rose Cleansing foam
a gentle and peculiar face cleanser
I loved it a lot, the only downside is that it's impossible to get Fresh in Italy
not even online, as far as I know
so I need to wait until I'll travel back to the U.K. or the U.S.
The peculiarity of this cleanser is that in the package it looks like a liquid, but then
when you push the pump it turns into a soft foam
it's super gentle and it smells of roses, which is a great plus for me
and it deeply cleanses the skin with drying it so
I would definitely recommend it, I used mine sparingly
mainly at night time to remove the last bits of make up
and as I already said a thousend times I really liked it, so this is definitely a thumbs up for me
The next item I see is a By Terry foundation
the light expert click brush and once again this is a quite peculiar product because
as you can see it has a built in brush
and by clicking on the other end - that's why it's called click brush - the product comes out
and then you simply blend it in
it's a light to medium coverage foundation, but it's perfect for touch ups
If you need to touch up your make up on the go
this is the foundation for you.
Illuminating, Flawless Foundation Brush
so it's illuminating, but it also covers imperfections
I don't think By Terry is available in Italy
you can probably get it online from the U.K. on the Space NK web site
I usually buy it in the U.K. or in France where you can get it in Sephora
I didn't buy it again yet, but I may do that, even if with foundations I am a bit more
fussy and I like to try new products, so I'm not sure.
The next item is ...as you can see this is totally random
a face mask, the ones sold in exclusive in Sephora, the brand is korean and it's called Ettang
I think I showed one in a past favourites video too
Anyway it's a powder mask to which you need to add water, mix up until you get a gooey paste, you apply it on your face, you leave it to dry
until it hardens up into some kind of silicone and then you simply peel it off your face
There are several different ones, this is the charcoal mask
which offers...exfoliation...
oil-moisture balance and nutrition, I managed to translate that
as it was only written in english or french
anyway I kind of liked it even if it's a bit too complicated to use I prefer my masks to be more
straight forward and quicker, but if you wish to try a different kind of mask
you'll find them in Sephora!
The next product is a daily face cream, DR Brandt Do Not Age Time Defying cream
I kind of liked it and I think I even featured it in a previous favourites video
the main downside is that it's quite pricey, I remind you that I won't state any price
because I have the worst memory ever, but on my blog I'll link all the products so that you can check them out
As I was saying the main downside is that it's quite pricey but the packing is tricky
as it looks huge, but when you open it up you realize there's not much product inside
I personally would have designed the packaging differently
that said it's a good anti age day cream and
it's really moisturizing, but I didn't buy it again, I used something else and I'm not sure I'm going to buy it again soon
Still talking about Dr Brandt I have the eye cream too, it's called the triple peptide Eye cream
the packing is less tricky and infact in my opinion it looks like you get more product
I liked it a lot
it's a lovely eye cream, it soaks in quickly, very hydrating but
once again I didn't restock it because I'm using something else
in fact with face and eyes creams I like to experiment until I find something I really like and I make it a staple.
So I did like this one, but maybe not enough to buy it again
To confirm the fact that I love to change my face creams frequently I have at least 3 more here
Let's start with this one by Fresh the Lotus Youth preserve face cream with super seven complex
I think I featured it in a favourite video and infact I liked it a lot
it's an anti age face cream
it's hydrating and it perfects the skin and smoothens the wrinkles
even if, as I always say, miracles do not exist.
The fragrance was really fresh and it reminds me of cucumber
but I don't know if cucumber is one of the ingredients
I really liked it, but as Fresh is impossible to get in Italy I couldn't buy it again
but in my next trip to London I surely get a new jar.
and always from the same brandt...i Mean BRAND..brandt???
from the same brand I also have the Creme Ancienne soft cream which is one of their best sellers
I kind of liked it and I almost included it in my December favourites video
but I didn't because it's very rich
it has a weird texture,
quite dense and it's really hydrating too
I don't have anything bad to say about this cream, the only slightly disappointing thing is the the packing is tiny
I finished it up because I liked it, but not enough to feature it in a favourites video
and I'm not sure I would buy it again in spite of the fact that it's a best seller
Different strokes for different folks!
Let's see if I can find the last face cream...
Yes, here it is!
It won't be a surprise because it's my trusted Clinique Repairwear night cream, one of my alltimes favourites.
I spoke about it a thousend times in a thousend videos so I'll try to be quick
I like it because it has a light almost gel texture
it's really hydrating, lovely to apply, it soaks in quickly and it has...
it's formulated to sculpt, tone up and repair the skin
which are all great plus in a night cream
as it helps the natural nightly regeneration of the skin
I already bought it again and I'm using it right now, so it's definitely a thumbs up
Let's grab another random product and it's a Tony Moly hand cream in the shape of a banana
I liked it, it smells like banana
but that kind of bubble gum flavour...those ...chemical flavours
Inspite of that I liked it, Tony Moly is a korean brand
If you don't know it head over to Sephora, because I believe they sell it in exclusive
the peculiarity is that all of their packagings are super cute and original
it's a bit bulky if you wish to carry it in your handbag
I didn't re purchased it and I don't know if I would.
and as we are talking about hand creams here is a great classic of mine
with a flying hair attached
the Body Shop hand cream
if you follow me you know that I love Body Shop hand creams and body products in general
this is the strawberry one and I finished it up
I love them, especially this small ones because they're perfect to keep in your bag
and the quality/price ratio is amazing
I already restocked it, but everytime I choose a different fragrance
but I can't remember which one I'm using right now
Then another random product I have here is this one
which is an John Frieda hair serum, the Frizz Ease
an anti frizz serum and an heat protector all in one
I use it to style my hair because often after I curl it
it's quite frizzy, so I pour a few drops on the palm of my hand
as this is some kind of oily gel
I rub it between my hand and apply it on my hair to remove the frizz
I already bought it again because it's a product I love
What else?
an eye mask by rexaline, once again I featured it in some past videos, I already talked about it
it's a tissue patch mask that comes in blisters
I don't know if you can see that
On one side you have the product, by breaking the seal the liquid soaks in the patches
then you apply them under the eyes, you leave them on for 15/20 minutes
15 minutes, then you remove them and it's super hydrating, anti age
it's a bit pricey, but I did notice some differences after using it and infact I already bought it again.
I think I need to be quicker because I still have a few products in here
let's keep talking about masks as I have some tissue ones here
2 are by Sephora, one is an under eye mask, the orchid one and it's anti age and
soothing? no wait I mean smoothing
this is the lotus mask and it's hydrating and soothing
then I have 2 by this new brand I discovered in Sephora right before Christmas called Dr Jart
which I do believe it korean too...
But I'm not sure about that...yep, made in Korea, I was right
They are tissue masks too, no wait hydrogel masks, which means they have a more gelly texture
but they work just like the tissue ones,
I got this one which is firming and this anti age one and I liked them both a lot
I didn't buy them again yet, but I think that the next time I'll visit Sephora I'll get some new ones.
Then I have a Body Shop body scrub
which is a bit worn out because I kept it in my shower for ages
it's part of the SPA of the world line which is a higher quality range by Body Shop
this was the Dead Sea salt Scrub
I loved it, it's obviously empty, I keep opening these jars even if I know they are empty...brilliant!
I really liked it, it had the right texture, it exfoliated without irritating the skin
the fragrance, which I could have smelled,
was very SPA like,
very elegant I would say
I recommend it, there are some other ones
gosh I hate my hair today
There are some other ones in the SPA of the world range, they are all lovely
I tried another one, but I can't remember which one...no I can't
but if you happen to be in a Body Shop store, or you can visit their web site,
you'll see that they have some other ones available, I recommend them
at the moment I'm using another scrub, but I know I'll get back to this soon.
Ok, I have 2 more body products, but high end ones
One is the Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Soufflé body creme
a brand I really love, I love their make up range and their skincare range, but it's quite pricey
I loved the texture of this cream, as it was soft, it soaked in quickly
and it had an amazing almond and coconut milk scent
quite sweet, but not too much
but if you don't like sweet fragrances maybe it's not your thing
I love sweet scents and I was obsessed with this one
Yep, I still am, it reminds me of a beach in summertime, of those coconut sunscreens that I love.
I haven't restocked on this yet because I'm using some other ones
but if you are looking for a good body cream, the Laura Mercier ones are worth the price.
and still speaking about pricey products I have here a Jo Malone shower oil
a peculiar product indeed
and I tell you straight away I love it, I already restocked on it, but in another fragrance
this was the lime, basil and mandarin one, as usual Jo Malone scents are really unusual, but super nice
This is a very elegant scent, slightly masculin I would say
the one I'm using now, the Blush Suede, which is sweeter and I like it a bit more
anyway let's talk about the actual product, it's an oil
that you use to cleanse your skin, it's super hydrating and leaves the skin feel soft
and lovely scented
I fell in love with it and basically in the past months it's the only product I used in my shower
that's why I immediately restocked on it
it's pricey, just like every other Jo Malone product
but it's definitely a thumbs up
C'mon I can do this, I have 2 hair products, I'll show them together
even if they are quite different, but I need to optimize
this is a dry shampoo by Tony & Guy
I randomly bought it in the U.k. last summer and I really liked it
There's not much to say about it, it's a good dry shampoo, it leaves no white spots in the hair
it absorbs the excess of oiliness and it smells like you just left the hair dresser
you know that lovely scent your hair has when it's freshly styled? yep, that one!
This one is an Oribe texturing spray
I hope I'm pronuncing it correctly...oribe..
once again it's a pricey product
it's a quality brand, I like it because
I was going to spray it, but it's finished, I can't get in my head that these products are finished
anyway you spray it in your hair and it add texture and body to it
and it's my favourite texturizing spray
I already restocked on it, well to be honest I bought a back up straight away
because it's not easy to find in Italy, I think you can get it online on the Space NK web site
but you'll end up paying it a bit more because you'll pay it in pounds and you'll have the shipping costs too
so maybe it's not a great idea
but I warned you...
and now let's talk about some make up products
let's start with my all times favourite foundation
Make up For Ever Mel...
Mel?? Mat velvet +...MEL???
a cream foundation, I love it because it has a great coverage, but it still looks quite natural
it's matt, but not cackey and the shade n.35 is a perfect match for my skin tone
I already got a back up even if I alternate it with some other foundations
because I always hope you'll find the trurly perfect one for me
or least another one as good as this one to switch up a bit
anyway I already bought it again
Then I have a concealer, Maybelline age rewinder
I spoke about this product recently because I fell back in love with it
and in fact I already finished it up, it has a built in sponge, which is so up to date
it has an amazing coverage and you can find it in drugstores and the quality/price ratio is unbeatable
Then I have something I would call a concealer, even if it doesn't conceals anything
it's more an highlighter and it's by Dior, the skinflash
I keep buying this product even if it's expensive and not that effective
but I like how it brightens up my under eyes area and slightly hides my dark circles
it has a built in brush, you twist the other end and the product comes out
then you simply apply and blend it in
it's quite expensive, but in spite of that I already restocked it
but I think that the next time I won't, so I'm not sure I would recommend it
We're almost done here, almost done!
I have a Stila eye pencil, I don't know why I'm twisting it as it's obviously finished
I bought it a thousend years ago
I kind of liked it, yes,
Nothing amazing, but the thing I liked the most was that I didn't have to sharpen it
which is something I hate
and it was soft, very pigmented and perfect for a smoky eyes make up too
that said I didn't buy it again .
Second last product, a brow pencil, Charlotte Tilbury Brow lift, I think that's the name 'cause it's all rubbed off
It's a british brand, hard to find in Italy, unless you buy it online
on the Selfridges web site that delivers in Italy too
I really liked it, I think I already showed this to you,
anyway on one side you have a spooler to brush your eyebrows
and on the other side, by twisting the bottom, you get the pencil
It offers a natural look and I think it's available in 3 shades
I got the one in Cara, the darker one ans it's inspired by Cara DeLevingne
The other shades I think are inspired by Grace Kelly and Brooke Shields, but don't quote me on that
but I really recommend it, I've been using it non stop and I already restocked on it
I Really liked it, I really recommend it , everything really really!
The last product, YAY, I almost lost my voice
a By Terry lip balm, an high end product, that's worth every penny
I've been using it for the past 3 years I would say
maybe 2/ 2 and a half, every night
It's super hydrating, it makes the lips feel silky smooth
and when I wake up in the morning I can still feel it on my lips, which is amazing
it smells of roses and it's a best seller from the brand
and they recently developped a whole range of new rose products
and it's a smart choice
I don't know if you can get this in Italy, if not throught the Space NK web site
but if you'll travel to France you can easily find it in Sephora, as I already said about the foundation
I love it, I already restocked on it well to be honest I always buy this in pairs
because as I use it every night, even if it lasts a long time,
it tends to finish up when it's less easy to buy it
Yay, we made it to the end of this empties video which was quite full of things....
see what I did there? empty ...full..uh? uh?
Anyway if you're still with me congrats! Why don't we do a little game?
if you watched the video until the end comment "I Made it!" and I'll surely reply to you with a heart
because you deserve it for sure
That said I hope you enjoyed this video and that it was somehow helpful
I remind you that as always on my blog you'll find the products list with purchasing links
so that you can get more infos or if you should want to get any of them
and the link to my blogpost is in the down bar as usual
If you liked this video don't forget to give it a thumbs up as I always remind you
subscribe to my channel if you haven't yet and that's really it
I send you a big kiss and I'll see you in my next one, ciao!

DeMarcus Cousins trade should give Knicks president Phil Jackson another degree of pause in effor... - Duration: 4:10.
By now you've seen what the Sacramento Kings brought back for a younger, cheaper and more productive superstar than Carmelo Anthony.
It's the kind of underwhelming return that has to make Knicks fans waking up in cold sweats this morning. But hopefully, it gives Phil Jackson another degree of pause in his efforts to deal the 10-time All-Star forward by Thursday's 3 p.m. trade deadline.
For all of his baggage and volatility, DeMarcus Cousins' pawning to New Orleans late Sunday night — for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, former Knicks guard Langston Galloway and two 2017 draft picks (including a top-3-protected first-rounder), with serviceable forward Omri Casspi also going to the Pelicans — sent shockwaves throughout the NBA shortly after the All-Star Game.
The 26-year-old Cousins is averaging 27.8 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists as one of the top centers in the league this season. He now gets to play alongside fellow former Kentucky one-and-done star big man Anthony Davis, the MVP of Sunday's layup line exhibition in his home city.
The Kings, meanwhile, have hit the reset button yet again, after GM Vlade Divac and team ownership apparently decided Cousins — who leads the NBA with 17 technical fouls, AND who got into an ugly verbal spat with a reporter earlier this season — was no longer worth the trouble and/or the maxed $209 million extension this summer that was being discussed for when his relatively reasonable contract expires in 2018.
Closer to home, this has been precisely the fear for Knicks fans concerning the recent peddling of Anthony, whose full no-trade clause allows him to dictate that the Knicks only can move him to a desired location.
"To say I don't think about it, I'd be wrong, I'd be lying to you," Anthony said on Saturday in New Orleans. "I think about it. Think about it a lot.
I think about what's best for me, what's best for the organization and what's out there. I think about that stuff."
Carmelo Anthony has a no-trade clause in his contract.
(Elsa/Getty Images)
The circumstances aren't entirely the same, of course, but Jackson can't deal Carmelo for such a middling return as the Kings received for Cousins. And especially not for another team's bad contracts or spare parts, as has been reported in the case of the Clippers — widely regarded as Anthony's No. 1 choice of potential landings spots.
A package centered around Austin Rivers and once-a-Knick-always-a-Knick (unless you're named Oakley) Jamal Crawford does nothing for the Knicks' future.
Also, joining his buddy LeBron in Cleveland certainly sounds like nothing more than a pipe dream at this point.
As the Daily News' Frank Isola noted over the weekend, the Celtics likely can put together the most attractive package — with a winning team, a passel of first-round picks (that 2013 blockbuster trade with the Nets truly is the gift that keeps on giving) and expiring contracts available to deal.
It's fine if the determination has been made that the Knicks aren't going anywhere in the short- or long-term with Anthony as their centerpiece player, or that they'd be better off spreading around his near-max salary while building around Kristaps Porzingis, but the Zen Master can't just give away this asset, either.
James Dolan and the Knicks gave Denver everything it wanted, and then some, to obtain Carmelo in 2011. The opposite cannot be true regarding his departure.
OUTTA BOTTE EXPERIENCE
On this President's Day, let's consider the other presidents in our daily lives.
Sticking to New York sports, we also have a couple of presidents regularly saying (or tweeting, occasionally) outlandish stuff.
While Jackson not-so-Zenfully contemplates the trade deadline and the Knicks' fading playoff hopes, how about that performance by Yankees' president Randy Levine over the weekend, publicly gloating over an arbitration win over homegrown reliever Dellin Betances?
Like many things labeled "fake news" these days, we wouldn't have believed it unless we heard it with our own ears.
— Everyone rightfully complained about the MLB All-Star Game dictating home-field advantage in the playoffs until that mistake was corrected.
But let's be honest here: baseball's All-Star exhibition is the only one in the four major sports that even remotely resembles the game we watch the rest of the season.
— Enjoyed the Twitter jokes Saturday night about the Knicks raising a banner for Porzingis' victory in the Skills Challenge.
Also, you have no idea how much I wish I'd thought of those references to Kyrie Irving as "World B. Flat."

Derrick Lewis knocks out Travis Browne, makes a pass at Ronda Rousey - Duration: 1:29.
He's Mr. Steal Yo Girl.
Derrick Lewis knocked Travis Browne out, knocked him while he was down and then turned his attention to his "woman" — Ronda Rousey.
"I just knew I had a bigger heart than him," Lewis said of Browne after his win at UFC Fight Night 105 on Sunday.

"He calls himself a man, but he likes to put his hands on women. So, forget that guy. I got much more heart than he has.
"Where's Ronda Rousey's fine a-- at?"
Travis Browne (l.) and Derrick Lewis go toe-to-toe in Canada Sunday night.
(Tom Szczerbowski/USA Today Sports)
Browne and Rousey have been linked since 2015, and, as many know, Browne's ex-wife, Jenna Webb has accused him of physically abusing her. Browne was never charged as a result of Webb's allegations.
When Lewis was done poking fun at Browne's personal life, he unleashed a few other one-liners, saying that the only pain he felt from Browne's kicks to the midsection were because "I just gotta do number two, that's all." He also added that he needs some time off after the fight because of "all the training and the the sex I've been getting."
It's certainly been a rough few months for the Browne/Rousey camp.

Ex-Trump aide Michael Flynn under fire for receiving $40G for 2015 Moscow visit - Duration: 4:05.
Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn received about $40,000 for his appearance at a 2015 Russia Today party — one of a handful of visits to Moscow that the disgraced ex-Trump aide is now under fire for, following his departure from the White House.
Flynn was paid the sum for appearing at RT's 10th anniversary celebration in 2015, The New Yorker magazine reported in a far-reaching profile of Flynn published Monday.
The sum Flynn had received for the engagement had not previously been reported.
Last week, the Pentagon said it had no record that Flynn had ever received authorization to accept any money for the visit, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The dinner — at which Flynn was seated at the same table as Russian President Vladimir Putin — came only two years after Flynn had traveled to Moscow to speak to a group of Russian intelligence offers — a trip that former CIA chief of Russia operations told the magazine "seemed at best quaint and naive."

The trips were two of several instances that led many within intelligence and other government circles to conclude Flynn had cultivated cozy ties with the Kremlin, even before he enlisted himself as a top adviser to the Trump campaign, and before his brief tenure as Trump's national security adviser.
Flynn resigned from the post last week, after just over three weeks on the job, after he admitted to misleading Vice President Mike Pence about conversations he had with the Russian ambassador about U.S. sanctions on Moscow before Trump took office.
According to reports, Flynn also misled the FBI about his discussions. Flynn, however, isn't' likely to face criminal charges, according to The Washington Post and CNN, because federal investigators invigorates don't believe he intentionally lied.
The revelations in the latest New Yorker profile, however, could help answer questions from House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), who last week demanded documents regarding the payments Flynn received for the 2016 trip to Moscow.

"We are attempting to determine the amount Lt. Gen. Flynn received for his appearance, the source of the funding, and whether he may have received payments from any other foreign sources for additional engagements," Chaffetz and ranking member Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) wrote in a letter released last Thursday.
Despite the reports that he won't face FBI charges, Flynn could still face a lot of trouble.
The House and Senate intelligence committees are already examining Russian interference in the election, as well as the Senate Armed Services Committee. The FBI, too, has already begun investigating Russian interference in the presidential election through the hacking of Democratic emails and likely is looking into possible contacts between Russian officials and Trump associates.
The White House has struggled to explain Flynn's situation — as well whether Trump knew about it earlier than he let on, and why Flynn wasn't asked to quit earlier when Trump knew about it for weeks — while other reports have suggested additional key members of his team had contacts with Russian intelligence agents during the campaign.

Flynn for weeks had publicly denied that his conversation with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak involved U.S. sanctions against Russia put in place by the Obama administration.
But the December call was monitored by the FBI, as is common practice regarding foreign diplomats, and the acting attorney general warned Trump's team that they were repeating a falsehood and Flynn could be blackmailed by the Russians.
The kerfuffle around Flynn's resignation came after a damning report that the FBI also found several top Trump campaign members were in contact with Russia throughout the campaign.
According to The New Yorker profile, Flynn spent the days after his resignation "taking long walks" and "reflecting and capturing his thoughts."

Meanwhile, additional new details emerged earlier Monday over the extent to which other people within Trump's orbit were communicating with officials in Moscow.
One week before Flynn resigned, Michael Cohen, Trump's personal attorney, hand-delivered a proposal to the then-aide that detailed how Trump might lift sanctions against Russia in exchange for a peace agreement in Ukraine, The New York Times reported.
Also advocating for the proposal was Felix Sater, a 50-year-old Russian-American former Trump associate with a lengthy criminal record, who is reportedly an FBI informant.

Priscilla Presley says she's caring for children amid Lisa Marie Presley's legal battle with Mich... - Duration: 1:41.
Lisa Marie Presley's twin daughters are reportedly in the custody of their grandmother amid allegations that their father kept hundreds of inappropriate photos and videos of children on his laptop.
Priscilla Presley, the former wife of late musician Elvis Presley, revealed in a Facebook post that she is currently taking care of her daughter's 8-year-old kids — days after her daughter claimed in a court filing that the girls were with child protective services.
"There is Lots of confusion, commotion and concern from all the talk circulating," Priscilla, 71, wrote Sunday. "Let me put this to rest... the girls have not been in foster care and never will be. The girls have been with me and will be until all this is sorted out."
Lisa Marie Presley, 49, accused her estranged husband Michael Lockwood of harboring the indecent photos in the filing in an effort to deny the two girls' father of spousal support, according to E! News. He is reportedly facing claims of sexual abuse and neglect.
"When I discovered the photos on (Lockwood's) computer, and viewed the videos, I was shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach," Lisa Marie wrote in the documents. "I had no idea that (he) had taken those photos. I will refrain from describing the photographs in detail out of respect for the privacy of my family."

Beverly Hills Police Department reportedly issued a warrant and took at least 80 devices from Lockwood's house, and Tennessee authorities are also launching an investigation.
Lisa Marie filed for divorce from Lockwood, 55, in 2016, after they'd been married for 10 years. They've been mired in a custody battle regarding their twins, Finley and Harper, ever since.
Lisa Marie was Elvis' only child.

Yoenis Cespedes resumes car show at Mets spring training - Duration: 1:44.
PORT ST. LUCIE — He may be blue collar in the batting cages this spring, but Yoenis Cespedes isn't letting that cramp his style. The Mets slugger, who put on a cash show in the players' lot last spring, had a souped-up Avorza sports car parked his spot in the players parking lot on Monday.
The blue and white vehicle resembled a Formula One race car, no top with two seats and a roll bar in the back.
While much was made of Cespedes' rides last spring and his seemingly new, no-nonsense approach to spring training, he and Mets manager Terry Collins never ruled out the possibility that it would return.
"He might still do that. There's no guarantee he won't do that," the Mets manager said on Saturday, when Cespedes drove a relatively normal white pickup truck to work. "Look, we still want to have a little fun."
And Cespedes seemed to take exception to the idea that driving flashy cars to the complex every day last year took his focus away from baseball.

The Yoenis Cespedes Car Show
"I don't think my focus was ever not on baseball," Cespedes said on Saturday when asked about the car show last spring. "Last year with the cars, that was just something off the field. I think the second I was on that field, my focus was on baseball and it will continue to be."
Hitting coach Kevin Long described Cespedes as a blue-collar-like player this week, citing the fact he works hard at his game and he does hard, physical labor at home on his ranch.
"He's a rancher, that's who he is, he works hard there and he works hard when he gets in here," Long said. "That other stuff, I don't know. I don't think it matters."
