Best Games of E3 2017 - Duration: 8:29.

What's good.

It's Fevir.

So..

I have been lost in the new Final Fantasy XIV expansion Stormblood so I haven't really

made time to talk about or go over E3.. when there were a lot of great things announced

during it.. whether that be on the stage or not.

I'd love to go over everything.. but instead..

I am just going to give you a run down of the annoucements that got me most excited..

the best stuff I saw.

Now, quick note- this doesn't mean these are the best games.. or even the best trailers..

they are the things that got me the most amped up, right.

We all knew Farcry was getting a number 5.. a new assassin's creed was coming.. those

games look rad.

But they don't hit the same.. so.. put aside the obviously hype announcements.. the new

mario.. god of war.. destiny 2.. and also.. we'll put aside both Anthem and Battlefront

2.. because everyone.. everywhere is already talking about those games.. and to make it

harder for me..

I'm going to limit it to 5 titles.. so I have to make some hard choices.

Starting off.. with Ni No Kuni 2.

I'm surprised even amongst RPG lovers.. that they hadn't heard of the past Ni No Kuni games.

These games are something special.. and really showcase a modern take on the classic RPG

style.. almost to the point where it re-affirms your love of classic RPG and JRPGS.. or learn

probably about 5 hours in.. that you've moved on from the genre.. with an esthetic that

seems to have lept from a Studio Ghibli movie.. developed by Level 5- a group of guys that

brought us some of the Dragonquest games, Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, Jeanne d'Arc, White

Knight Chronicles.. even the Professor Layton games.. they are known.. for quality games..

that unfortunately.. whether it's through the systems they were released under or timing..

remain a bit obscure.

Ni No Kuni 2.. is going to be coming to both the PS4 and PC.. via steam.. and really, anytime

we get a quality RPG come to the PC.. it's a good thing- and because of it's aesthetic..

people who play Ni No Kuni 2 on November 10th when it's released.. the past games.. have

aged.. really well and you might find yourself enthralled by another series..

I gues what I'm trying to say here.. is Rogue Galaxy didn't get the love it deserved.

Next up..

Monster Hunter World.

I don't want to dwell in this for too long.. for 2 reasons.. a short trailer isn't enough

to go on.. and I talked about it somewhat briefly in a prior video.

But bringing Monster Hunter to a next gen console.. with next gen graphics.. is something

great for the series.. let alone- it's ability to be able to be played on PC.

I just remember playing Monster Hunter on the Wii-U.. on the couch.. on the big screen..

and it changed the experience drastically.

I play every monster hunter title that comes out and even though there are so many fundamental

similarities between each and every title.. the console ones- feel different.. and not

having to get claw cramps from controlling the camera is always a next level reason to

be excited.

It's something I'll play regardless.. and am eager to get any information on the title

I can get.

Number 3.. and I bet most of you didn't even hear about this game.

Ooblets.

This game has got some real flavor just looking at it.

It's strange.. because I don't know if I love the aesthetic.. or hate it- the game itself..

I guess.. the best way to describe it.. is right from their FAQ page..

"What is this game- It's Ooblets, It's like Harvest Moon meets Pokemon meets Animal Crossing,

You'll like it."

If Stardew Valley solidified anything in me.. it's that for some reason..

I enjoy doing chores online.. and farming is almost online meditation for me.. and I

can't get enough.

Then throw in Pokemon.. battling and training them..

I imagine those are the..

Ooblets, in Ooblets...

but what really got me.. is, run a shop.

I cannot tell you how much time I have played Receatter, or Atelier Annie or just games

that are just that.

These games live on a balance of tedium and fun.. that is impossible to know until you

play them..

I have a good feeling though.

And number 2 is Metro Exodus.

If you are one of my buddies and you ever casually asked me for a non-multiplayer FPS

shooter.. recommendation.

I don't say Bioshock.. or STALKER.. or Halo.. or Doom.. or Farcry.. or Borderlands.

I yell at you to play Timesplitters.. and then you say no because the game looks old..

and then we compremise on Metro.

Metro.. is the shit.

Period.

For me.. especially in a story driven FPS.. the most important factor is atmosphere..

and Metro nails it.

It's this post.. nuclear war.. survival.. almost horror style game.. that the only reason

I played the first on in the first place.. is you used your own bullets as currency-

it mixes in survival horror elements.. into a shooter that.. feels good as a shooter.

The game is set in.. shit hit the fan, Russia and has you in the Metro tunnels for quite

a bit of it.. so when I saw this trailer and see we're outside for most of it..

I was pretty enthralled.

You know, I generally dislike shooters- but I can't say enough about the Metro games I've

already played.. and it's been over 4 years since the last one.. and I just can't wait.

Number 1.. is Tunic.

Now this is a weird call out.. as I've played this game before.. at PAX..

I think it was.. it was under a different title..

Secret Legend and I don't know how many of you have gone to these types of things.. but

generally a single title stands out after you're done playing or learning about god

knows how many games.. especially if it's all hands on.

This was that game.

It looks and feels heavily inspired from Zelda- and manages to capture the same type of charm..

and whimsy.. and mystery that Zelda does as well.

The game.. even in it's unfinished state.. felt and looks incredibly polished.. whether

that's sound design, camera movement, sound effects.. it just felt whole.. even when it

wasn't..

I don't know how to make that, make sense.

But it coming out 2018.. on at least the PC.. other platforms unknown at this point.. and

man, I can't wait.

So those are the titles I'm stoked for.

Some honorable mentions here... that I am excited about.. but it's a coin flip.. is

Spider-man.

It looks rad as fuck.. but the only Spiderman game that I found fun

to play was Spiderman 2.. regardless of how they looked.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2- you guys might know how much I love this series.. but the trailer

they showed off..

looks kinda.. childish.. er.

A little cuter..

I see a lot less giant robots and I think they've come out and said that the story will

be based around a love interest.. we'll have to wait and see if they didn't just butcher

something I love.. and..

Mario and Rabids tactics.. this could be incredible.. or a train wreck.

Mario games have a track record of genre bending.. sometimes it's good.. other times its bad..

no one.. could have ever expected such a thing.

That's going to do it for me..
