>> Isn't that fun?

>> [LAUGH] >> No!

>> All right.

Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd.

How many days does it take for the earth to circle the sun?

>> What?

For the earth to circle the sun?

>> Yeah.

>> A million.

>> [LAUGH] >> I hope you're not homeschooling.

>> [LAUGH] >> It's 365 days.

It takes a whole year.

Already ready?

[SOUND] >> My gosh!

>> All right >> My god.

>> Yeah, you just have to answer three in a row correct and you win.

>> Okay.

>> All right, the first Arbor Day was celebrated in April 1872.

What airy element do trees produce?

>> Fruits?

Roots?

>> No, an element, what element do trees produce?

Very important.

>> Chlorophyll?

>> Trees are very important.

Chlorophyl, air?

I can't remember.

I live.

>> Well, you're close with air.

>> Air?

>> Yeah, close with air.

>> Close with it.

Oxygen? >> That's right.

Yeah.

[APPLAUSE] >> That's why it

is very important that we have lots and lots of trees,

cuz they produce oxygen to make up for all of the other stuff in the air.

All right, Easter falls on April 16th this year.

We are currently in season 14 of my show.

What is 16 times 14?

>> I'm not good at math.

>> Yeah.

180?

>> No, that's so close though.

It's 224.

See you in a minute.

>> [APPLAUSE] >> That's how you play no or go.

[APPLAUSE] >> Hi.

>> Hi!

>> My God!

>> All right. All right.

[LAUGH] >> You're getting a 55-inch 4K

My new bike - the ultimative trials bike check - Fabio Wibmer 2017 - Duration: 7:22.

hey guys, it's me Fabio

and today I'm at my home in Osttirol

some of you may know this place

we've filmed some clips here of my Osttirol Is My Playground Video

but I'm here because of a bike check of my new bike

a lot of people commented and asked me if I've got a new bike

some of you have seen an inspired box in my instagram story and asked what inside

so guys, this bike was in the box

so yeah let's start

frame is the Inspired Bicycles 2017 Fourplay

the colour is mat black with yellow or green graphics

like the magura colour

I really really like it

I basically just switched the colours from my last bike

and I just really love it

ok then

Wheels are build up with Inspired rims

again with the yellow graphics which I really like

hubs are the hope pro evo 4

from Hope

same is the front

wheels are build up with Inspired rims and hope pro evo 4 hubs

then

fork, this is a really awesome fork

it's a little bit thicker

and it has got 15mm axle

and it's super stiff

and I've never had any problems with it and I just really like it

the geometry by the way is a little bit different to the old one

My old bike was a prototype

we did some very small changes

and it's super tight with the tire and the frame and the seat

but yeah, I think it's the best geometry the Fourplay has ever had

and I really really love it for riding

the rear end is a little bit shorter which makes it easier for bunnyhops etc

then let's go on

Stem is from Trialtech and handlebar is the Arcade Riser bar from Inspired Bicycles

which makes the front really high but I personally really like it

I'm tall so I personally love to have a high front end

makes it super maneuverable and easier for bunnyhops

then let's move on to the tires

Tires are from Continental which have been developed with Danny Macaskill

I'm riding them for a long time now and they are awesome at dry conditions as well as in the wet

My tire pressure is about 50 psi

the tube is also from continental

then let's talk about the brakes

brakes are of course the Magura MT7 raceline

in the nice yellow magura colours which fits really well to the bike as you can see

I pimped the brakes with the new HC3 levers

these are the new levers from magura

and the cool thing is that you can adjust them so well

Escpecially for a guy like me who is riding downhill, enduro, trials etc.

so it's awesome that I can adjust this lever to every dicipline

and I really like that

Brake disks are the Magura Storm 203mm

Some of you were asking me about my brake pads

ok

Magura has got 3 different brake pads

I'm riding the performance pads

there are performance, comfort and race pads

and I must say that the comfort are a little bit to weak and the race are too agressive

The performance pads are just perfect for trials

really good braking power and the modulation is still very good

and yeah

Grips are the lizard skins which are developed with Danny Macaskill

Really cool

These lock on grips are super think and they look really nice. I really like them

ok what's next

Headset is from Hope and I trust them for a really long time now

never had any problems with it

and I really like it

quite a lot traffic up here

seat is the Inspired Pivot Kevlar seat

I think it looks pretty nice

and a hope seat clamp

then what else

Cranks are the Truvativ from Sram with a length of 175mm

Bashring is from Inspired

It's basically a bashring with an integrated sprocket

and I think it looks super nice

Trialtech chain

rear sprocket has got 16 teeth and 22 (not 20) on the front

I really like the gear ratio.

You can ride trials and slow stuff but also cruise along the streets in the city

Pedals are the Cranbrothers Stamp in large

they have a super good grip and they are super strong as well. also pretty light

I'm not quite sure if I'll ride the red ones on this bike

Let me know in the comments what you think

They don't really fit to the bike but I like it in a way

Then...what's left?

is there anything?

I think we're done

Did I forget something?

I don't know

If I forgot something let me know in the comments

However... I think we've got everything

so yeah! This is my new bike for the next couple of months or years

let's see what's next

I' super happy how it turned out with the black and yellow

looks really fresh

and I'm really looking forward to start riding with it

I think that's it from the bike check

Thanks for watching and till next time! Ciao

Oh and I'll do bike checks from my downhill, enduro, stumpy

they will follow in the next weeks or months

keep an eye out for them if you're interested

However...thanks again for watching and until next time

CIAO!

Ha sick

Homemade Toothpaste: A Natural Recipe That is Simple and Effective - Duration: 2:11.

Having a healthy set of teeth, gums and mouth is important to your overall health.

The inside of your mouth is a dark and moist environment, which germs thrive on.

So, it is important to brush your teeth often.

However, it is equally important to use a toothpaste that is free of harmful chemicals.

In today's video we will discuss the use of natural, homemade toothpaste and share

a recipe for it.

There are many different forms of toothpaste that you can find in the drug stores.

However, if you researched the chemicals found in these toothpastes, you would find a chemical

common in pesticide, a chemical that causes diarrhea, a chemical that is harmful if swallowed

and a chemical that can disrupt your hormones.

It seems counterproductive, brushing your teeth to get rid of germs, but doing so with

chemicals that can cause significant damage to your body.

Instead, make your own toothpaste with a mixture of coconut oil, baking soda and sea salt.

The salt acts as both an abrasive texture that can rid your teeth of stuck on stains

and helps to kill germs.

Coconut oil helps to kill off bacteria, prevents tooth decay and removes harmful chemicals.

Baking soda helps to kill of germs, neutralize your mouth, eliminate bad breath and remove

stains.

Simply take three tablespoons of coconut oil, 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon

of sea salt.

Combine all ingredients.

For a minty fresh toothpaste, feel free to add a drop or two of peppermint essential

oil.

Stir together very well and store in a glass jar.

For best results, use this toothpaste to brush your teeth two times daily.

Let us know, have you ever tried this toothpaste?

Do you see the benefits of utilizing all-natural toothpaste?

Sikorsky CH-53K King Stallion - US Heavy-Lift Cargo Helicopter [Review] - Duration: 6:23.

The CH-53E Super Stallion is the Marines' big and battered workhorse.

These tri-motored flying barns have seen continuous service in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and

were involved in almost all of America's conflicts since they entered service in 1980.

The USMC need a big ass new chopper, and the CH-53K "King Stallion" hopes to be just that.

The King Stallion does share in the basic CH-53 design configuration, but really it's

a brand new helicopter in the same manner as the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is to the F/A-18A/C

Hornet.

Although the CH-53K is not a "game changing" weapon system, it does trump the CH-53E in

the following ways:

Power: Her three jet turbine motors put out 7,500 HP each, about 50% more than the CH-53E's

engines.

This extra power will allow for the CH-53K to lift heavier loads, over longer distances

and will especially improve upon the CH-53E's already capable hot and high performance.

Speed: Cruise speed will be a whopping 315 kilometre per hour for the King Stallion,

compared to the already fast CH-53E which cruises at 278 kilometre per hour.

Top-end for this beast will be an eye watering 370 kilometre per hour.

Heavy Lifting: The goal for the King Stallion is to carry a whopping 15 tons of crap slung

externally below the aircraft for over 177 km.

This is a massive increase over the CH-53.

The CH-53K's maximum gross weight will be close to 38,400 kg.

This is over 4,500 kg more than the CH-53E it replaces although its outward dimensions

are almost identical.

Structure: High strength composites were used for a large majority of the CH-53 K's airframe

construction instead of traditional steel and aluminum.

Controls: The CH-53K will have a state of the art "smart" glass cockpit, its engines

will have a multi-channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control system, and its pilot's flight

control inputs will be processed through a fully integrated fly-by-wire system.

Drivetrain: This monster packs a drivetrain that weighs in over 5,900 kg.

Including its composite blades just the aircraft's drivetrain approaches the weight of an entire

Russian Mi-8 Hip helicopter.

The tail rotor alone has as much thrust as the main rotor on a S-76 medium weight helicopter.

Internal Capacity: The King Stallion will be over a metre wider than its predecessor

and its cabin will have about 15% more volume.

Probably the nicest thing about this bigger cabin space is that two full sized master

pallets can now be carried internally.

In the past, crews would have to break down a master pallet's contents and then repack

it before the CH-53E could haul it to its final destination.

Just this capability alone will greatly reduce manpower and increase sortie rates.

Additionally, the "Kilo's" increased cabin width allows the CH-53K to haul a Humvee internally.

Weapon System Integration: The CH-53E has been very much a "work in progress" since

its first flight, with FLIR turrets, gun mounts, communications systems, self defense countermeasures

and other systems being lashed on over time.

The King Stallion will have all these capabilities integrated into its original design, along

with a trio of 50cal machine guns, and its design allows for easy additions of new systems

in the future.

Visibility: The King Stallion's larger window-line and snub nose will offer enhanced situational

awareness for its crews via better outward visibility when compared with the CH-53E.

Operating Costs: The Super Stallion is an extremely expensive aircraft to fly, with

per-hour flight costs hitting well over $20k an hour and it takes over 40 man hours of

maintenance per flight hour to keep an "Echo" running.

The CH-53K, with its internal health monitoring system and modern sub-systems, is targeted

to be less than half that per hour flight cost.

General characteristics: Crew: 5: 2 pilots, 1 crew chief/right gunner,

1 left gunner, 1 tail gunner (combat crew) Capacity: 37 troops (55 with centerline seats

installed) Payload: 15,900 kg

Length: 30.2 m Rotor diameter: 24 m

Height: 8.46 m Empty weight: 15,071 kg

Loaded weight: 33,600 kg Max.

takeoff weight: 38,400 kg

Performance: Cruise speed: 315 km/h

Range:852 km no reserves Combat radius: 204 km

Service ceiling: 4,380 m Rate of climb: 13 m/s

Armament:

Guns: 2 window-mounted .50 BMG (12.7 mm) M3M/GAU-21

machine guns 1 ramp-mounted .50 BMG (12.7 mm) M3M/GAU-21

machine gun

Other: Chaff and flare dispensers

The aircraft is slated to cost about $110M each with research and development costs rolled

in.

There is no real new aircraft alternative to the CH-53K, and even with the meat clever

that is the sequester looming overhead, the program seems secure, at least for now.

If its costs continue to rise and its timeline continues to unravel further then talk of

a CH-53E recapitalization (refurbishment and upgrade) may come to pass, at least for a

portion of the Marine's 200 aircraft requirement.

As less new aircraft are bought over a period of time the unit price increases.

As the cost of each aircraft goes up the total buy has to decrease to remain within a program's

set budget unless scarce funds can be diverted.

This is what is called the procurement "death spiral" in Pentagon parlance, and every over-budget,

behind schedule defense program is prone to it, including the "high-priority" CH-53K,

albeit its fiscal and timeline issues seem tame compared to other major current weapons

programs.

Let's hope the "King Stallion" can rapidly get back on track and prove to the American

taxpayer and the warfighter that it is worthy of its crown.

We Really Did Go the Wrong Bloody Way | Week 1 | Kris Gethin's Man of Iron - Duration: 16:18.

It's supposed to be an easy

ride today.

But we've gone off track,

being inexperienced townies.

We really did go the wrong

bloody way.

That was a hell of a hill.

Today's suppose to be an easy

day. It's far from an easy day.

I'm Kris Gethin.

I'm going to be training to

prepare for an Ironman.

Most people give themselves two

years.

I'm giving myself six months.

And we're going to do it.

This is a bloody hard first

session.

Well good day to you.

Welcome to another

daily video trainer.

Well, this won't be daily but

it will be a video trainer.

This time very much

different to what I've done in

the past.

This is a man of iron

video trainer.

Where I will be preparing

for an Ironman

while still bodybuilding.

Yeah. Smart move.

The awesome part about it is

that you can eat a lot.

So this is what I'm cooking

right now.

I'm making healthy tacos.

So the only thing that is

possibly, slightly unhealthy

is this right here taco shell.

But I'll tell you what,

I'm going to be burning off

plenty of those taco shells.

I don't know if you can see me

cause it is so friggin early

in the morning it's like 5:30

or

something.

I'm going to be prepping for

this Ironman now.

Six months baby.

And we're headed straight to

the gym for our first workout

day.

We need to target both these

worlds within muscle building,

performance,

endurance,

and strength.

So we're going to be wanting

our cake and eat it with this

program.

OK I'll go 35 this time.

Actually no, no, no. Doctors

orders. doctors orders,

I'd better stick to 25s.

I'll tell you what, I'm so

tempted to go a little bit

heavier but I don't want to

damage my shoulder.

Anymore.

Now what you'll notice on this

exercise, we're actually

locking out.

In other video series so you'll

see I normally perform a

three-quarter movement because

I'm trying to adapt constant

tension placed upon the muscle,

for muscle building purposes.

However, I'm using a more full

range of motion now because

when we go into the swim,

and we're going to do a front

crawl, we have to teach

ourselves to reach forward as

much as possible.

So we need to lock out these

joints, so as opposed to doing

my usual three-quarters,

I'm starting to lock out a lot

more on all these exercises.

So if you watch the other video

series, the eight week hardcore

trainer or some of the YouTube

channels, you may recognize

this beautiful woman here,

Sunshine.

So she's going to be joining me

on this program because she is

competing in a sprint

tri.

And a half Ironman as well.

So if you are a female

following this program, there's

no reason why you can't do

exactly the same because

Sunshine's going to do that and

she's going to get a friggin

kick-ass results as well.

Again, push.

We're going to go straight into

the pole now.

As I explain to

Sunshine here, as I'll explain

to you guys as well,

don't think of this as being a

six month project,

think it as being a day.

You just gotta get through this

day. Don't be late.

Make sure you get all your reps

out. Make sure you get all your

sets in.

Make sure that you get all your

meals, in that you stay

hydrated, just for today.

If you are successful today and

you can go to bed and go,

I did absolutely fucking

everything that I could today

in order for me to be

successful tomorrow,

then you're going to get to the

end of this six months and

you're going to be successful

in your goal that you're trying

to reach.

This is going

to take a long time,

this is a bloody hard first

session. So I've just swam

once, one way using

my right arm,

and

then come back kicking, using

my left as my lead arm. I'm

absolutely shattered. This is

supposed to be the first day?

This is tough. It really

is. And you know, it's funny

cause swimming is one of those

things especially where you'll

be frustrated, you'll do 25

meters and feel exhausted and

you just think how on earth am

I ever going to do 2.4

miles of it.

And then it's just going to

start clicking and everything

is going to feel smoother and

you're going to be faster and

faster and faster.

All right. So based on

my results that we got,

is there anything from that,

that you've thought of, that

should be applied

this week in particular?

Well this week in particular,

especially for the riding,

what I want you to focus on is

sustained low power

output.

I think one of the things that

comes up obviously again and

again is the

short distance sprint work

showed how much power you

have, it shows how much power

you can sustain over a short

period of time.

What's going to be absolutely

critical is learning how to

stay under that threshold and

learning how to stay well under

that threshold.

And it's basically saying,

it's like you know, a thousand

horse-power engine with a small

gas tank right now,

you know, let's,

let's use it as efficiently as

possible and keep the effort

level down so you don't

leverage it.

Okay so, I've got a question

for you a little bit off topic,

but this coming Saturday

or Sunday,

I believe it's Saturday,

there's a five-mile

Paddy's Day run,

a charity run,

that's going on here,

and I thought it'd be a good

idea to actually jump into that

as a bit of fun.

I think you can do the five

mile.

Let's use this as an

opportunity to practice your

running form, particularly when

fatigued. So what I'm going to

do is probably sends you

just a list of drills you can

do. They're going to be very

simple. It's going to be

basically chin up,

chest out,

hips under,

arms up.

Is there anything that you'd

want to add to anybody else

watching this,

you know, you're there in the

week, baby.

Is there anything that you'd

want to advise the viewer?

You know, everyone's got to

start somewhere, the beginning

part is so frustrating because

it's new. Not because you're

physically incapable of doing

it, but because it's new.

This is a program meant to take

you from where you are now,

to a full Ironman.

So, you know, look at it,

have faith in it,

you know, be proactive with

your feedback, but realize it's

going to be, it's going to be

frustrating there are going to

be ups and downs,

but you'll get there.

God,

it may

look easy, you try it.

Fuck, that is tough.

1 minute feels more like five.

Damn.

This is a wake-up call.

Alright workout is done.

Did the six fast cadence

sprints with the 2-minute rest

intervals,

and now I'm just cooling down

slightly.

Just walking it off.

Getting rid of built up,

bit of built up lactic acid.

You'll notice in this video

series I'll probably talk a

little bit faster. I've got

more energy.

My brain is functioning better

because I've got more fats

within this diet.

I can get away with a little

bit more. We can get away with

it,

because we will be burning off

that many calories with our

workouts and with the cardio

sessions with the following

intensity.

It doesn't mean you can go out

and eat burgers or fries or

pizza or gummy bears

or...candy,

or shit.

Every food,

every calorie,

every micronutrient,

or macronutrient I should say,

should have a purpose.

Make sure every single calorie

counts, don't just count the

calories buddy.

We started off with the

dumbbell rows here.

This is a great movement for

thickening up your lats and

your traps. But it's also good

for the swimming technique as

we're bringing our arms back.

That is the first time I've

done chins in God knows how

long. I can't remember the last

time I did it.

I tell you what that was three

times as hard as I thought it

would be.

Number one it's because we do

it at the end of the workout

when were at our weakest.

Number two is because I'm at,

close to, my heaviest at

220, 225 pounds.

And just weak as shit.

That was quite a shock.

It's a kick in the balls.

But it's good to do it like

this. It's going to be hard.

What's the fucking point of

doing it if it's easy?

Fuck! Do you feel that?

What we're doing is a warm-up

now to begin with.

It's supposed

to be a warm up, I've done

200 meters and I'm

absolutely bloody shattered

already.

I'm at Sunshine's house now,

making my breakfast.

She's in the shower and she's

going to probably have a

pancake.

I'm making mush

here this morning and I call it

my mass mush.

So it's a very lite breakfast

but it's got every

nutrient in it,

every calorie has a function.

And obviously we're trying to

improve our health,

not just our performance,

and our recovery during this

program.

Well I've done two and

a half miles.

27 minutes.

I'm going to walk

this last half.

I'm too knackered to run

anymore.

This is another wake-up

call.

Good morning.

It is day,

what is it, day five,

six. Day six.

Today is a non-weight training

day, it's cardio.

So I won't say active rest day,

as I've done in

other video trainers, cause

it's far from a rest day.

So it is dark outside.

I've decided before

we do our 5-mile run this

morning, we're going to do

a 90-minute bike ride first.

So I'm just riding over to

Sunshine's place.

There's a loop that we're going

to do, and then we're pretty

much going to go straight to

the start line.

Thankfully it's lighter now.

So we can actually see what,

where we're going and people

can actually see us.

But what we're doing is just 90

minute, just very easy ride,

getting used to the saddle.

Getting used

to being on a bike for this

amount of time.

Even on an easy ride like this

I'm a little bit out of

breathe.

A

slight change of scenery now.

We went off the beaten track.

And we've been hitting a few

climbs now.

Which should really prime

our legs for the run we got

later.

Can't blame me I'm following

the navigator up front here.

Today's supposed to be an easy

day. It's far from an easy day.

There you go.

Make sure you map out

your route and check

out the difficulty level of it.

Before you embark on it.

There's no way you can stop

when you're starting up a hill.

No way you can stop, you can't

start again.

I feel like I need five gears

lower.

We've

got a

banana on the floor, we've got

Re-Kaged on the floor. It looks

like snot.

We just need to calm down.

Were in a bit of a rush to get

to the run.

We got back in one hour and

26 minutes and now we've gotta

race our asses down to the

track.

To the race.

Right.

We're at the start of the race.

we made be on time with 10

minutes to spare.

I should be stretching, but I'm

not.

Cause I'm nervous.

Alright, we're at the halfway

point.

Closing in on two and a half

miles.

The field is definitely spread

out now.

Just over two and a half mile

to go.

It's to hard

to hold you.

We are done.

We finished.

We did it in like 39 minutes,

something.

Sunshine came past me like a

sprinter, I had nothing left to

even come anywhere near close.

Breakfast has come.

Sunshine got a first

place little ribbon over there.

Isn't that cute.

Sneaking out of

my purse right here. And then

we stuck around, and guess who

else got one?

Bloody surprise.I

got first place as well,

couldn't believe it.

They didn't expect a 225 pound

fatty

to get a

first place, did they, when

they passed me.

So this is

our victory breakfast.

Good evening.

It's probably about 9:30

now. I've been in bed for about

half an hour just reading.

It's time for me to switch off

now, so I just wanted to kinda

wrap up.

But, right now I'm just

submerging myself so much

into this triathlon

game, it's epic

proportions when it comes to

what a lot of these athletes do

and accomplish.

I'm just reading Triatholon

220 here,

and reading this,

and I've read so many of

these stories now, and I'm

reading another fantastic

story called Operation Ironman

by George Mahood.

I don't know if he actually

finished yet but he wrote a

book about it, so I'm assuming

he did. And obviously I want to

learn absolutely everything

just reading in this book right

now. He's shared,

you know, when you get gets the

aid stations he said you know

they'll hose you down if you

want. You know,

just to cool you down and I

know it's going to be hot in

Coeur d'Alene when I do my

race.

And he said, do not do that,

do not accept that,

because if your trainers get

wet you can blister very easy

when you're running, and things

like that I would never thought

of.

So it's important

for me to prepare because I've

never done this, I don't have

the experience I can't do

this and

not finish,

and say,

well, you know what, I should

have done this.

Then I would have finished.

I have to make sure this

happens, you know, so I'm doing

everything I can to make

every decision calculated

and remove myself of any

possible difficulties or

mistakes

or road bumps.

Pardon the pun.

Heart to Heart - Duration: 2:12.

We're doing something no one else has done before.

This is really a first foray, for NASA,

of getting into the genetics, the genome part of science.

The whole twins experience is really exciting for us, overall.

When the one year mission came about,

and Scott Kelly was assigned, there was a recognition

that Scott had a twin.

So, why not take the opportunity to study one person in space

and one person on the ground?

In our experiment, Cardio Ox, we're looking specifically

at things that might modify or have an effect

on cardiovascular disease.

The more we learn about cardiovascular disease risk,

the more it benefits the everyday person.

The focus of our laboratory is to understand the implications

of spaceflight weightlessness on the cardiovascular system,

as well as changes in the crew members diet, activity levels,

stress levels and sleep patterns.

These sorts of physiologic changes are ones we expect

for people who are on 6-month transit mission to Mars.

We want to understand what are the potential health

consequences and more importantly,

what can we do to prevent them.

The tough thing about doing spaceflight research,

for example, our biological samples, in our case, the blood

and urine samples from which we derive a lot of our science,

they stay on station for a long period of time and we have

to wait for the next opportunity for them to come down.

We have long gaps in getting spaceflight data,

but in the meantime, you have other research studies you're

working on.

We always stay busy, we always keep asking new questions.

Things we think will benefit both our crew members

and the general public.

How Fish Skin Is Transforming Health Care [Warning: Graphic Content] - Duration: 5:20.

Amputations can be the result of severe trauma, or an aggressive disease.

But the vast majority are caused by chronic wounds, injuries that fail to heal.

Many chronic wounds are linked to diabetes, high blood sugar levels causes nerve damage

and poor circulation making it harder for wounds to heal.

They can then become infected which sometimes leads to amputation.

Currently one in 11 Americans suffers from diabetes.

By 2050, it could be one in four.

Some wounds are treated with skin from pigs, or human cadaver.

However, both involve a high risk of failure and disease transmission.

It's led to an unlikely discovery.

I was interested in finding a source of material that was as similar to human skin as possible.

And the surprising thing is that cod fish skin is much more similar to human skin

than for example pig skin.

A chemist by trade, Fertram Sigurjonsson has spent his career treating

chronic wounds

Now, as CEO and founder of Kerecis he's turning cod skins into medical products in

north west Iceland.

Our facilities are located in the township of Isafjordur, thirty miles from the Polar

Circle.

This is a fishing town.

Fish is caught and processed in a fish processing plant and we collect the skins.

These are just landed this morning or last night.

They're fresh.

This one is rejected.

I'm examining for blood.

A lot of time blood will bleed into the skin.

And looking for parasites, looking for holes.

I don't like that one either.

This one is looking pretty good, yeah this is a nice beautiful one.

Doesn't have holes, blood spots, no tears.

Once the best skins are picked, the Kerecis team get to work on transforming them into

medical grafts

The first step in our manufacturing is to de-scale it.

We want to remove the scales from the material.

Then we put the skins into a solution that cleans the skins and gently removes all cells.

And then we move it into our clean room where we remove all the liquid from the material

gently while preserving the three dimensional porous scaffolding structure of the materials,

which is very important.

It's too small for the human eye to see, but this is what Kerecis says is vital to

accelerating the healing process.

The cell structure of the fish skin recruits the body's own cells to form healthy tissue.

It's then gradually incorporated into the closing wound.

Across the Ocean, in New York's Mount Sinai hospital Dr. John Lantis has been using Kerecis

products on his patients.

This is actually what the material looks like a week after being put on.

The outline of the fish skin is actually around the outside here.

This is fish skin that is not active on him.

The rest is fish skin deeper in the wound.

So far so good.

It looks like it's coating the wound nicely and filling in the way that it's supposed to

because prior to that it was hard for my skin inside the wound to knit itself back together

Once Dr Lantis has cleaned out the wound he applies a new Kerecis graft.

It's not known exactly why the fish skin works.

In a recent test conducted by Kerecis, the company compared pig skin to fish skin.

The Kerecis fish product closed the wound significantly faster.

The first three months of 2017 Kerecis sold as much as they did in the the whole of 2016,

and that growth isn't just thanks to doctors working with diabetic patients.

Significant investment has come from the U.S. military.

It can be applied immediately to a burn wound, just after extraction from the battlefield.

Then it serves as a cover.

It reduces pain and it's antimicrobial, so it prevents infections.

The fish in these waters have given a lot to the people of Iceland.

Sustenance and wealth.

With Kerecis products costing up to a thousand dollars, what was once a byproduct fed to

farm animals, could now be the most valuable part.

Defence Team News - June 27, 2017 - Duration: 4:48.

In this episode, we learn about the Royal Canadian Navy's

industry days for its experimental ship project,

drop in on the final Invictus Games training camp in Kingston,

highlight Exercise TRADEWINDS 17,

and recognize the accomplishments of the winners

of the Celebrating Excellence Awards.

Welcome back to Defence Team News.

I'm Captain Shalako Smith…

And I'm Shelley Van Hoof.

Here's what's going on in Defence for the week of June 27th.

The Royal Canadian Navy,

in partnership with the Build in Canada Innovation Program,

recently held experimental ship,

or X-ship, industry days at HMCS Carleton in Ottawa.

The X-ship project will test innovative technologies and concepts

over the next 4-5 years

to help improve the Navy's current operational efficiency

and to ready it for the introduction of future classes of ships.

The objective of the industry days was to actively engage

and review with roughly 100 industry and Government representatives

on topics where the RCN has forecasted possible future challenges.

Additionally, industry was invited to propose solutions

based on new or emerging technologies or processes.

I'm here for one reason and that's to absolutely, unequivocally

indicate that the Royal Canadian Navy is all in

when it comes to innovation.

HMCS Montréal was designated as the X-ship

by the RCN in March 2016.

Team Canada completed its final training camp

at CFB Kingston last week,

in preparation for the upcoming 2017 Invictus Games

being held in Toronto this September.

Current and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces

used the training camp to further hone their skills

and gain valuable practice time with their coaches and teammates.

Athletes practiced in their respective sports,

including archery, track and field, indoor rowing, and powerlifting,

just to name a few.

Brigadier-General Shane Brennan,

Commanding Officer of the Joint Personnel Support Unit

and Head of Mission for Team Canada,

announced the 90-member team that will be heading to the Games,

during an event held at Fort Henry in Kingston, Ontario on June 15.

To all the athletes,

thank you very much for accepting the challenge to represent Canada.

It's not always easy to put up your hand and volunteer.

So please remember through your journey,

first and foremost, this is meant to support you

in your own personal road to recovery and rehabilitation.

You can vsit Canada.ca and search Invictus

for a complete list of participants.

Congratulations to all of those who participated in the tryouts

and good luck to Team Canada!

The Canadian Armed Forces recently deployed

to the Caribbean island nations of Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago

to participate in Exercise TRADEWINDS 17.

Throughout the exercise, which concluded on June 17,

the CAF deployed approximately 90 personnel and additional

elements from the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Army.

My name is Lieutenant (Navy) Greg Richards.

I'm the Training Officer at Fleet Diving Unit Atlantic.

We are currently in Trinidad for exercise TRADEWINDS.

This is a multinational exercise between

the United States, Canada, and partner nations in the Caribbean.

Fleet Diving Unit Atlantic's role here

is to teach diving skills and to assist them in countering

possible maritime threats in the area.

This 19-nation exercise, led by the United States,

provides an important opportunity to enhance readiness

and strengthen defence relationships

between partner nations for civilian, government-led,

disaster response efforts.

It also aims to strengthen regional defence capacities

to address threats to security and stability in the Caribbean.

The Celebrating Excellence Awards took place on June 21st

at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa.

The Defence Team celebrated the remarkable accomplishments

of 50 individuals who have achieved important goals

that will positively influence the Defence Team of the future.

This year's Wall of Winners will be displayed on the concourse

of National Defence Headquarters from June 22nd to July 6th.

Winners will also be listed on the Defence Team intranet site.

Bravo Zulu to all of the members who are recognized!

Now Shelley, before we go

we'd like to wish everyone a Happy Canada Day and encourage you

to be part of this year's upcoming Canada 150 celebrations!

Visit canada150.ca to find out more.

Thank you so much for watching.

See you next time…

U-PRINCE Series | ตอน เซอร์เวย์ (Survey) | EP.3 [2/5] - Duration: 7:43.

We're sorry. We sneakily ate this dessert last night.

And this is all that's left.

Don't worry about it.

What is it called?

It's called Quezu

or Quezu rice

How come I have never heard this name before?

I have never had it too.

It's Honzel's traditional dish.

It's a favorite dessert among old people

But you two don't look that old.

Bikey has been away from Honzel for so long

She likes to cook Quezu rice to think of her mother's cooking

So this is our regular dessert we always have at home

Do you think of going back there?

We don't think so.

Our family is here.

Where is your family?

Don't you want to go back to your family at all?

Go pack your stuff.

Your chauffeur is coming

What? What's the rush? It's still early.

You still have the paper to finish.

My paper?

Isn't it done already?

If you submit only what you have done,

I'm sure Mrs. Kyla won't be satisfied.

Come on.

Get up. We have to go.

I don't want to leave yet

Now.

I don't want to leave.

It's all because of your unnecessary stuff

It causes so much trouble.

What?

Those are all necessary for me. Trust me

Necessary?

Your necessaries must mean different from others.

I told you. I'm no ordinary.

Stop talking nonsense and say goodbye to Andres and Bikey.

Thank you very much.

I had a great fun here

Same here. Our door is always opened for you.

I hope you two have a safe trip home

Thank you

Thank you

Please excuse us.

Let's go, P'Moo.

Why don't you let me go home?

I will but you have to work on your paper first

You will get to go in the evening.

But this is my day off.

How could you ask me to work on my day off?

Don't forget that it's my day off too.

I can choose not to help you

If you get an F,

it doesn't concern me at all

But…

You should let me rest at least.

We still have 2 more weeks.

You put it wrong.

We have only 2 weeks left.

Potato potato.

What are you mumbling?

Nothing.

Hurry up.

You are like a rottweiler dog.

Hey.

Right there.

What now?

I feel like we are being watched.

It's all in your head. Let's go now.

I did see it.

You worry too much. Come on.

I can walk by myself. Don't drag me.

The target is back

But he has a girl with him.

All right.

I make sure everything is ready.

We won't fail this time.

Don't forget about today.

Hey, can I not go? I don't know anything about basketball.

You still have to come anyway.

If I don't see you today, you will be in deep trouble.

Hello. Don't hang up. Hello.

Yoo Seongmin talks about former president Park Geunhye! [We Like Zines! / 2017.06.27] - Duration: 19:50.

What moved people the most

was your final 2-minute closing remarks.

That became an issue.

You talked about Admiral Yi Sunsin, too.

It was the night of May 2.

It was the final TV debate, so I thought that was

my last chance to get myself known...

- To the public. / - Your last chance.

I tend to use my time up

fast in the beginning when I do debates.

Yes, you do.

Please raise your hand

if you'd like to speak first...

Respectful people of Korea...

(He always ran out of time to speak)

You have 10 minutes and 8 seconds left.

10 minutes and 59 seconds.

9 minutes and 14 seconds.

7 minutes and 17 seconds.

3 minutes and 32 seconds.

(Give me some leftover time..)

(Explaining, persuading and asking questions)

(Time's up)

He doesn't have much time left.

Why do you keep making him talk?

(This has been Yoo Seongmin)

I was the type to talk too much in the beginning and

struggle to save time later.

I spent a lot of time in the beginning that day, too.

I thought I would have to save up my time

if I want to say something at the end.

Because I didn't speak much

to save time by the end,

I had the most time left.

I had about 2 minutes and 40 to 50 seconds left

and Moon Jaein had about 30 seconds left.

The chairperson asked Moon Jaein to

ask me questions.

To use up time.

Moon Jaein kept asking me questions.

Yoo Seongmin has about 3 minutes 30 seconds left.

Other candidates...

(Then I'll ask him questions)

Let me ask Yoo Seongmin...

(I saved up my time on purpose)

I wanted to save up my time

and once the other candidates ran out of their time,

I wanted to tell people what was on my mind.

But Moon Jaein kept asking me to talk longer

and kept asking me questions.

So I just briefly answered to his questions.

No. Yes. Like that.

What do you think, Yoo Seongmin?

I don't think that way.

(That is all)

Could you be more specific?

I have hopes about it.

That's all I'll say for now.

Moon Jaein, your time is up.

You defended yourself.

Instead of being on offense.

I'm sure Moon Jaein was quite surprised.

I normally was the type to

give long answers to everything,

but that day I kept giving short answers.

He was quite surprised and used up his 30 seconds.

So I had about 2 minutes left.

I saved up my time because I have something to say.

That's how I began my speech.

(The reason why he saved up time, 10 a.m. that day)

13 politicians from Bareun Party left and decided

to support Hong Joonpyo of Liberty Korea Party.

(13 Bareun party members jumped ship)

(Will results change because of the bandwagoners?)

I am quite heartbroken.

I wanted to go down a tough road together.

(Will the Bareun Party break up?)

(Yoo Seongmin faces a crisis 7 days to election)

Yoo Seongmin of the Bareun Party

visited Daegu, Gyeongnam and Seoul

to tell people his determination to finish the race

and continued with his campaigns.

Please change Korea with me.

(That night, final debate)

(Yoo Seongmin looks serious)

I have something to tell the people

so that's why I saved up a little bit of time.

It's tough, hard and lonely,

but I am not disappointed.

I am reminded up Admiral Yi Sunsin.

I still have 12 ships left.

If many people keep their eyes on me

and hold my hand,

I'd like to continue to walk down this path.

I ask of you.

13 members of the party left.

I understand why those members

left Saenuri Party and

why they decided to return to Liberty Korea Party.

I understand their feelings.

Politics are realistic, too.

To be honest, the future of the Bareun Party

probably looked quite dark.

So I understand.

I don't want to criticize them.

(Evils turned into a blessing)

(Bareun Party gets 10 times more contribution)

(Yoo Seongmin's approval ratings double)

As I campaigned for 6 more days from May 3,

I met many people who said they'd vote for me

after hearing my last speech.

(Yoo Seongmin thanks the people for the support)

Hong Joonpyo said

you were born into a rich family.

(Fake conservative who was born rich should leave)

I was born in Cheolsu's house in Daegu.

Cheolsu's house?

Cheolsu's house.

Not Ahn Cheolsoo.

The name of the landlady's son was Cheolsu.

I was born when my family lived in a rented room.

But your father was a judge.

He was born into a poor, farming family.

After my father became a judge,

we were living in a small house in Daegu.

All my cousins came to stay with us

in order to study in Daegu.

10 of us lived together in a small house.

We weren't well off with a judge's salary.

Your father was a judge and

became a member of the National Assembly twice.

He was in politics in 1985 and

became a member in 1988 and 1992.

After 8 years he decided politics isn't for him.

He retired from being a politician.

Our family was happy

when he retired from politics.

It's terrible to have a politician in the family.

Whenever my father was campaigning...

Did you go and help out?

I would take time off work

and help him out.

But it's different from running my own campaign.

Did the candidates eat on television back then?

Candidates eating at traditional markets.

No, not really.

They would just shake hands and leave.

They didn't film the candidates eating food.

The candidates eat so well these days.

(You must eat well to win!)

I liked it because I often skipped meals.

Why?

If we traveled just a short distance,

I had to work after a few calls or conversations.

I sometimes didn't get to eat breakfast or lunch.

If I got to a traditional market and had to eat,

I was happy.

But I wanted to eat many types of food.

Sweet pancakes, chewy doughnuts...

But we always had to eat at a fish cake place.

This is good.

(The right way to eat on TV is fish cakes)

(This is cheese fish cake)

Cheese fish cake.

(Cheese fish cake?)

It's a cheese fish cake.

(A new world of fish cakes)

They normally have

flat ones and round ones.

I like round fish cakes, but

they always suggest to eat flat ones.

They always ask you to drink up hot soup

when the weather is boiling.

You can burn your tongue.

It's hot, but I have to finish it and move on.

I can't throw it away.

I normally love fish cakes,

but after the election...

- You don't eat it anymore? / - I eat less.

I asked my advisors

to skip fish cake places and

go to a Korean sausage or rice cakes place.

Did they do that for you?

No, they couldn't because

photographers would already have their cameras.

Commoner food.

I sometimes had to eat side dishes.

You need rice for that.

Without rice.

They told me to continue eating until

they got good pictures.

(Side dishes that call for rice)

(Only the side dishes)

Try some kimchi, too.

This way. This way.

(Photo time of eating kimchi)

(Chomp)

(We'll take pictures of you, do you have any rice?)

You graduated with an economics degree

and got your PhD in the U.S.

How did you end up being in politics?

I studied economics and

returned to Korea in the winter of 1987

to work at the Korea Development Institution.

I gave advice on economic politics.

Then there was the financial crisis in 1997 and 1998.

The Asian Financial Crisis called IMF in Korea.

The government decided to make a request for

emergency funding

to the International Monetary Fund.

(Korea requested $20 to 30 billion)

Regarding the current economic situation of Korea...

As the president, I feel responsible

and I don't know how to begin to apologize to you.

As we went through the financial crisis,

as the economic scholar

I felt guilty for

not being able to prevent it.

As I watched the staff members of the Blue House or

the economy institutions work,

I thought they don't do a good job.

They did such a bad job and

I watched the policies being distorted

for strange reasons.

I thought this was the problem of the politicians.

I thought I shouldn't just stay in an institution.

While I was thinking that for 2 or 3 years

I was asked to join the politicians.

- You were recruited? / - Yes.

So I didn't hesitate for one bit.

I became the head of the research institute of

the Grand National Party which was the opposing party

at the time and been working there for 18 years.

What I like to tell younger people is that

politics is most important even if it's criticized.

The final decisions that will decide the laws

which will determine your future, levy taxes

and determine budgets are

made by politicians.

It's great that people participate in politics,

but aren't you bombarded with text messages?

That's becoming the hottest issue.

What is your thought on that?

(What does Yoo Seongmin think?)

I usually get texts from both sides.

So I am bombarded with twice as many texts.

I don't get to read all of them.

There are about 28,000 texts that

I haven't read yet.

I can't read all of them.

They get buried if I don't check my phone for 1 hour.

I get so many texts that the app shuts down.

I understand how they feel,

and I will listen no matter opinions you have,

but please don't write cuss words.

And please don't speak casually to me.

Whether people text or say something to politicians

they have the right to say what's on their mind.

But please don't mix in cuss words

or casual words.

It's okay to speak what's on their minds.

Alright.

During the 16th presidential election,

you supported Lee Hoichang and

during the 17th, you were on Park Geunhye's side.

People say you support the wrong people.

That's what they say.

After the election, people usually think

they won because they did a good job.

But if they lose, they blame someone else.

I ran for the president myself and

I lost in the election

so it's not something to laugh about though.

Alright. (I'm not really laughing)

This is what many people say about you.

You were the Chief Secretary of Park Geunhye.

What do you think about that?

Well...

I still get that.

During the presidential election,

the first thing the Democratic Party used

to attack me was that I was responsible

for the problems of the Park Geunhye administration.

You admit that our economy failed under

Lee Myungbak and Park Geunhye, right?

You're bring them up again?

They called me a traitor and

Liberty Korea Party said I betrayed them.

Some people say that Yoo Seongmin

politically betrayed people.

You became a Gangnam leftist.

That's what they say.

I was attacked by both sides.

If I look back on the past,

the decisions I made back then were wrong.

Like you just said, people might think

I can't judge people well.

I understand why people would think that.

That's the role I used to play.

But then Park Geunhye and I

started to drift apart.

The heads of Saenuri Party, Kim Moosung and

Yoo Seongmin have decided

to leave the party.

Those who led the nomination

were not concerned about their identity.

They only had divisions of being either

pro-Park and anti-Park.

President Park attacked Yoo Seongmin for

criticizing the administration.

Politics of betrayal after winning the election

could produce hegemonism so

I ask the people to judge him in the election.

Yoo Seongmin apologized, but

refused to withdraw from the election.

I'm sure she didn't have good feelings for me.

We've been drifting apart

since 2007.

She's currently going through a trial.

What do you think about that?

I thought it was right to impeach her.

I believe that not impeaching her is considered

a dereliction of duties of the congress.

However, regarding keeping her imprisoned...

Regarding her induction with imprisonment,

considering her dignity for one

who was once the leader of the country...

I wish she would be indicted without detention

until the trial is over.

That's what I think.

Because I was for the impeachment,

I was braced to be

suppressed politically and

being damaged by it.

I thought it was possible.

It was quite tough during the election.

Watching her going through trial

in detention...

I had mixed feelings and I felt bad for her.

It was in October 2016 when it first happened.

After the illicit admission to Ewha University got out,

the PC tablet was revealed through a media outlet

and that's how everything got started.

I told her many times that

since she knows the truth,

she should confess and apologize to the people.

The legal matters come after that.

Talk to the people and

ask for their forgiveness.

If she showed people that she is taking

responsibility for her actions...

I don't think it would have come this far.

The trial is the last step of this issue.

She was ousted from politics and was impeached.

As I watch her going through the trial,

I wonder if everything that

happened since last fall

had to happen like this.

You're saddened by it.

Yes.

What the hell are you playing?

Survey, get yourself together.

Did you forget that basketball is a team play?

You only focus on beating Curtis.

You forgot that you need a teamwork to win in basketball.

How could you forget about your teammates?

And take this to your heart

You must play for the team

not for yourself.

Understand?

Stop talking.

Listen to others for some.

Quit putting yourself at the center of everything.

Right now.

Our faculty...

needs you.

You must do it for our faculty

You guys too. Understand?

Stop yelling, wacko

And get out of here. I need to talk to my team.

Give it your all.

Come on, guys.

Let's do our best for our faculty

Let's go.

Thanks.

Hurry and go back to your side.

Hurry!

Focus. Focus.

Hurry. Hurry

You did it.

You did it, Survey!

You are holding me too tight.

That's a close match

You did it.

I know.

It's a great game today.

It's a great game today.

About Cherry Milk,

I was just teasing you for fun.

I didn't mean to hit on her for real.

But I almost did it.

Just one point.

Wait a minute.

You used me for…

That's right, wacko.

Who would want to bet on you for real?

But if no one wants to hit on you, let me know.

I will give it a try.

I'm going first.

See you.

He won't come to you

How do you know?

because you are my girl.

Awwwwww.

Hey, let's get some drink.

I'm thirsty

Silly man.

Who is your girl?

Hey.

Why don't you get changed?

Thank you so much

for helping me get back to my sense during the match

Um. It's okay.

Seeing you smile like this reminds me of the first time I met you.

Did I smile then?

I only remembered that I had a headache

That was the first time you met me, not the first time I met you

Forget it. It's nothing that matters.

What? Had we met before that?

When was that?

I didn't recognize you at all.

That's why I told you to forget it.

What?

You shouldn't have mentioned it from the start if you don't want to tell.

Hold on.

What's the matter?

Do you have any plan tonight?

I probably work on my paper. Why?

Actually, this is not me at all.

Can you just say something straightforwardly to me?

Don't beat around the bush.

I want to order you to have dinner with me tonight

Are you asking me out?

Feel free to call it that way. But you have to come with me.

Is this how you ask a girl out in Honzel?

It's the same.

Are you coming?

What are we going to have?

Where is it? What time is it?

We can have it at my place.

I'm going to cook.

You can come at around 8 p.m.

Okay.

Why are you smiling?

I'm happy so I smile.

Do you have to make such face?

I'm shy.

Smile if you want to

Don't hold it.

I'm shy.

You can get over your shyness with green tea drink?

Yes, it helps.

I like you

What are you talking about?

I like you. Don't you get it?

We Really Did Go the Wrong Bloody Way | Week 1 | Kris Gethin's Man of Iron - Duration: 16:18.

It's supposed to be an easy

ride today.

But we've gone off track,

being inexperienced townies.

We really did go the wrong

bloody way.

That was a hell of a hill.

Today's suppose to be an easy

day. It's far from an easy day.

I'm Kris Gethin.

I'm going to be training to

prepare for an Ironman.

Most people give themselves two

years.

I'm giving myself six months.

And we're going to do it.

This is a bloody hard first

session.

Well good day to you.

Welcome to another

daily video trainer.

Well, this won't be daily but

it will be a video trainer.

This time very much

different to what I've done in

the past.

This is a man of iron

video trainer.

Where I will be preparing

for an Ironman

while still bodybuilding.

Yeah. Smart move.

The awesome part about it is

that you can eat a lot.

So this is what I'm cooking

right now.

I'm making healthy tacos.

So the only thing that is

possibly, slightly unhealthy

is this right here taco shell.

But I'll tell you what,

I'm going to be burning off

plenty of those taco shells.

I don't know if you can see me

cause it is so friggin early

in the morning it's like 5:30

or

something.

I'm going to be prepping for

this Ironman now.

Six months baby.

And we're headed straight to

the gym for our first workout

day.

We need to target both these

worlds within muscle building,

performance,

endurance,

and strength.

So we're going to be wanting

our cake and eat it with this

program.

OK I'll go 35 this time.

Actually no, no, no. Doctors

orders. doctors orders,

I'd better stick to 25s.

I'll tell you what, I'm so

tempted to go a little bit

heavier but I don't want to

damage my shoulder.

Anymore.

Now what you'll notice on this

exercise, we're actually

locking out.

In other video series so you'll

see I normally perform a

three-quarter movement because

I'm trying to adapt constant

tension placed upon the muscle,

for muscle building purposes.

However, I'm using a more full

range of motion now because

when we go into the swim,

and we're going to do a front

crawl, we have to teach

ourselves to reach forward as

much as possible.

So we need to lock out these

joints, so as opposed to doing

my usual three-quarters,

I'm starting to lock out a lot

more on all these exercises.

So if you watch the other video

series, the eight week hardcore

trainer or some of the YouTube

channels, you may recognize

this beautiful woman here,

Sunshine.

So she's going to be joining me

on this program because she is

competing in a sprint

tri.

And a half Ironman as well.

So if you are a female

following this program, there's

no reason why you can't do

exactly the same because

Sunshine's going to do that and

she's going to get a friggin

kick-ass results as well.

Again, push.

We're going to go straight into

the pole now.

As I explain to

Sunshine here, as I'll explain

to you guys as well,

don't think of this as being a

six month project,

think it as being a day.

You just gotta get through this

day. Don't be late.

Make sure you get all your reps

out. Make sure you get all your

sets in.

Make sure that you get all your

meals, in that you stay

hydrated, just for today.

If you are successful today and

you can go to bed and go,

I did absolutely fucking

everything that I could today

in order for me to be

successful tomorrow,

then you're going to get to the

end of this six months and

you're going to be successful

in your goal that you're trying

to reach.

This is going

to take a long time,

this is a bloody hard first

session. So I've just swam

once, one way using

my right arm,

and

then come back kicking, using

my left as my lead arm. I'm

absolutely shattered. This is

supposed to be the first day?

This is tough. It really

is. And you know, it's funny

cause swimming is one of those

things especially where you'll

be frustrated, you'll do 25

meters and feel exhausted and

you just think how on earth am

I ever going to do 2.4

miles of it.

And then it's just going to

start clicking and everything

is going to feel smoother and

you're going to be faster and

faster and faster.

All right. So based on

my results that we got,

is there anything from that,

that you've thought of, that

should be applied

this week in particular?

Well this week in particular,

especially for the riding,

what I want you to focus on is

sustained low power

output.

I think one of the things that

comes up obviously again and

again is the

short distance sprint work

showed how much power you

have, it shows how much power

you can sustain over a short

period of time.

What's going to be absolutely

critical is learning how to

stay under that threshold and

learning how to stay well under

that threshold.

And it's basically saying,

it's like you know, a thousand

horse-power engine with a small

gas tank right now,

you know, let's,

let's use it as efficiently as

possible and keep the effort

level down so you don't

leverage it.

Okay so, I've got a question

for you a little bit off topic,

but this coming Saturday

or Sunday,

I believe it's Saturday,

there's a five-mile

Paddy's Day run,

a charity run,

that's going on here,

and I thought it'd be a good

idea to actually jump into that

as a bit of fun.

I think you can do the five

mile.

Let's use this as an

opportunity to practice your

running form, particularly when

fatigued. So what I'm going to

do is probably sends you

just a list of drills you can

do. They're going to be very

simple. It's going to be

basically chin up,

chest out,

hips under,

arms up.

Is there anything that you'd

want to add to anybody else

watching this,

you know, you're there in the

week, baby.

Is there anything that you'd

want to advise the viewer?

You know, everyone's got to

start somewhere, the beginning

part is so frustrating because

it's new. Not because you're

physically incapable of doing

it, but because it's new.

This is a program meant to take

you from where you are now,

to a full Ironman.

So, you know, look at it,

have faith in it,

you know, be proactive with

your feedback, but realize it's

going to be, it's going to be

frustrating there are going to

be ups and downs,

but you'll get there.

God,

it may

look easy, you try it.

Fuck, that is tough.

1 minute feels more like five.

Damn.

This is a wake-up call.

Alright workout is done.

Did the six fast cadence

sprints with the 2-minute rest

intervals,

and now I'm just cooling down

slightly.

Just walking it off.

Getting rid of built up,

bit of built up lactic acid.

You'll notice in this video

series I'll probably talk a

little bit faster. I've got

more energy.

My brain is functioning better

because I've got more fats

within this diet.

I can get away with a little

bit more. We can get away with

it,

because we will be burning off

that many calories with our

workouts and with the cardio

sessions with the following

intensity.

It doesn't mean you can go out

and eat burgers or fries or

pizza or gummy bears

or...candy,

or shit.

Every food,

every calorie,

every micronutrient,

or macronutrient I should say,

should have a purpose.

Make sure every single calorie

counts, don't just count the

calories buddy.

We started off with the

dumbbell rows here.

This is a great movement for

thickening up your lats and

your traps. But it's also good

for the swimming technique as

we're bringing our arms back.

That is the first time I've

done chins in God knows how

long. I can't remember the last

time I did it.

I tell you what that was three

times as hard as I thought it

would be.

Number one it's because we do

it at the end of the workout

when were at our weakest.

Number two is because I'm at,

close to, my heaviest at

220, 225 pounds.

And just weak as shit.

That was quite a shock.

It's a kick in the balls.

But it's good to do it like

this. It's going to be hard.

What's the fucking point of

doing it if it's easy?

Fuck! Do you feel that?

What we're doing is a warm-up

now to begin with.

It's supposed

to be a warm up, I've done

200 meters and I'm

absolutely bloody shattered

already.

I'm at Sunshine's house now,

making my breakfast.

She's in the shower and she's

going to probably have a

pancake.

I'm making mush

here this morning and I call it

my mass mush.

So it's a very lite breakfast

but it's got every

nutrient in it,

every calorie has a function.

And obviously we're trying to

improve our health,

not just our performance,

and our recovery during this

program.

Well I've done two and

a half miles.

27 minutes.

I'm going to walk

this last half.

I'm too knackered to run

anymore.

This is another wake-up

call.

Good morning.

It is day,

what is it, day five,

six. Day six.

Today is a non-weight training

day, it's cardio.

So I won't say active rest day,

as I've done in

other video trainers, cause

it's far from a rest day.

So it is dark outside.

I've decided before

we do our 5-mile run this

morning, we're going to do

a 90-minute bike ride first.

So I'm just riding over to

Sunshine's place.

There's a loop that we're going

to do, and then we're pretty

much going to go straight to

the start line.

Thankfully it's lighter now.

So we can actually see what,

where we're going and people

can actually see us.

But what we're doing is just 90

minute, just very easy ride,

getting used to the saddle.

Getting used

to being on a bike for this

amount of time.

Even on an easy ride like this

I'm a little bit out of

breathe.

A

slight change of scenery now.

We went off the beaten track.

And we've been hitting a few

climbs now.

Which should really prime

our legs for the run we got

later.

Can't blame me I'm following

the navigator up front here.

Today's supposed to be an easy

day. It's far from an easy day.

There you go.

Make sure you map out

your route and check

out the difficulty level of it.

Before you embark on it.

There's no way you can stop

when you're starting up a hill.

No way you can stop, you can't

start again.

I feel like I need five gears

lower.

We've

got a

banana on the floor, we've got

Re-Kaged on the floor. It looks

like snot.

We just need to calm down.

Were in a bit of a rush to get

to the run.

We got back in one hour and

26 minutes and now we've gotta

race our asses down to the

track.

To the race.

Right.

We're at the start of the race.

we made be on time with 10

minutes to spare.

I should be stretching, but I'm

not.

Cause I'm nervous.

Alright, we're at the halfway

point.

Closing in on two and a half

miles.

The field is definitely spread

out now.

Just over two and a half mile

to go.

It's to hard

to hold you.

We are done.

We finished.

We did it in like 39 minutes,

something.

Sunshine came past me like a

sprinter, I had nothing left to

even come anywhere near close.

Breakfast has come.

Sunshine got a first

place little ribbon over there.

Isn't that cute.

Sneaking out of

my purse right here. And then

we stuck around, and guess who

else got one?

Bloody surprise.I

got first place as well,

couldn't believe it.

They didn't expect a 225 pound

fatty

to get a

first place, did they, when

they passed me.

So this is

our victory breakfast.

Good evening.

It's probably about 9:30

now. I've been in bed for about

half an hour just reading.

It's time for me to switch off

now, so I just wanted to kinda

wrap up.

But, right now I'm just

submerging myself so much

into this triathlon

game, it's epic

proportions when it comes to

what a lot of these athletes do

and accomplish.

I'm just reading Triatholon

220 here,

and reading this,

and I've read so many of

these stories now, and I'm

reading another fantastic

story called Operation Ironman

by George Mahood.

I don't know if he actually

finished yet but he wrote a

book about it, so I'm assuming

he did. And obviously I want to

learn absolutely everything

just reading in this book right

now. He's shared,

you know, when you get gets the

aid stations he said you know

they'll hose you down if you

want. You know,

just to cool you down and I

know it's going to be hot in

Coeur d'Alene when I do my

race.

And he said, do not do that,

do not accept that,

because if your trainers get

wet you can blister very easy

when you're running, and things

like that I would never thought

of.

So it's important

for me to prepare because I've

never done this, I don't have

the experience I can't do

this and

not finish,

and say,

well, you know what, I should

have done this.

Then I would have finished.

I have to make sure this

happens, you know, so I'm doing

everything I can to make

every decision calculated

and remove myself of any

possible difficulties or

mistakes

or road bumps.

Pardon the pun.
