Youtube daily report Apr 22 2018

Ever since the release of GTA V, there's been talk of where Rockstar would set its

follow up game, GTA 6.

A few years have passed, and despite the ongoing success of GTA V online, fans are getting

hungry for the next installment.

While it seems we have quite the wait ahead of us, with Rockstar releasing the likes of

other major blockbuster games, including Red Dead 2, that hasn't stopped players from

guessing at what GTA 6 may entail, especially when it comes to the game's location.

So today, we're counting down our picks for the top 10 locations GTA V will be set

in.

Let the speculation begin!

10 London London, England isn't unknown territory

for the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

The very first Grand Theft Auto game had two mission packs set there in, titled GTA Mission

Pack #1: London 1969, and Pack #2: London 1961, a prequel to the first mission pack.

But it seems that that may be the last of the UK that we see in the franchise.

Despite how cool of a location it would be, GTA producer Dan Houser has noted that its

highly unlikely any of the games would ever be set there.

"…my own personal feeling is that GTA is America."

He went on to say that, "These days I think we would love to set a game in the UK, but

I don't know if it would be a GTA game."

9 Tokyo Once upon a time, the possibility of a GTA

Tokyo wasn't completely unheard of.

Rockstar actually considered using it as a location, around the time that GTA 3 and Vice

City were released, but counted it out after doing further research on the city.

This was due to the road system in Tokyo being too problematic, which would ultimately hinder

a large component of the driving mechanics we all know and adore from previous GTA titles.

It's worth noting that back in 2003, Take-Two Interactive filed trademarks for GTA Tokyo

though, along with two other cities coming up on our list.

That being said, it seems unlikely that Tokyo will become part of the GTA family, but perhaps

may make an appearance in a future Rockstar title instead.

8 Paris Paris, France has been another speculated

location.

The city has a lot to offer in terms of aesthetic – it's got a bunch of famous landmarks,

beautiful old buildings, and a distinct culture that could open up some really interesting

potential narratives and missions, especially if Rockstar took the whole 'american in

Paris' route.

What makes this one unlikely is the same logic debunking the London theory – it seems that

GTA will continue to be set in American cities.

7 Somewhere in Canada There's speculation that Rockstar will head

north of the border in grand ol Canada.

Being elsewhere in North America isn't completely a long shot – Rockstar has a history of

previously crossing North American borders in its games, like it did in Red Dead Redemption

between the US and Mexico.

Could GTA be set in an American city and venture north?

In terms of actual cities, it seems the most likely that they would hit up Toronto, Montreal

or Ottawa, despite the latter being a little lack luster compared to previous cities the

franchise has ventured.

And, fellow Canadians, let's be real – considering Vancouver has played a bunch of major American

cities in films a billion times, it seems super unlikely that a game would ever be set

there.

6 Carcer City Another big hypothetical is Carcer City – the

city in which Manhunt, another Rockstar game, is set in.

Carcer is largely inspired by the Rust Belt region, with bits of Camden, Detroit, Flint

and east St Louis all in its mix.

There are references made to in within the GTA franchise, like a news segment in Liberty

City that describes Carcer as being nearby.

Manhunt also has car models from GTA in it.

Theories suggest that Carcer will be a mix of Chicago, with a little bit of Toronto,

Canada.

5 Boston Could we be heading back to the East coast

in GTA 6?

If so, Boston, the oldest American city, could be a likely candidate.

Rockstar may want to spread out its locales by mixing it up with a city that shares fewer

characteristics with Los Santos.

It's also been pointed out that Boston, often being a snowy location, would allow

for Rockstar to use some of the slicker snow assets that have been available in GTA V online

in the past, and that would be pretty neat.

4 San Francisco Despite many fans feeling that setting GTA

6 would be a little redundant or bland compared to the previous setting of Los Santos, San

Fran is a theory that is still alive and kicking online.

High speed chases on the Golden Gate bridge, anyone?

Yeah, I get the allure.

Playing within San Fran would also open up the possibility of missions in the Bay Area,

including Oakland, which could allow for Rockstar to give us a very interesting take on the

sociopolitical climate going on there.

That being said, there's already a GTA V mod of the city, called San Fierro, despite

it feeling a lot like a San Andreas mod. 3 Bogota

One of the other trademarked titles – Gta Bogota – the capital city of Colombia could

prove to provide gamers with one hell of an interesting experience.

The country has quite the history of crime and violence, along with a diverse collection

of architecture that could seriously mix things up setting wise for the franchise.

There are also a lot of connections from previous GTA games to Colombia.

Aside from the obvious Colombian cartel, Mike from Grand Theft Auto Advance leaves Liberty

City for the country, and, more importantly, Jeremy Robard from GTA Vice City stories claims

one of his offices is based in Bogota.

Could those loose connections amount to anything?

2 Miami Miami seems to be the most popular location

theory for GTA 6.

Despite GTA 3 being set in Miami, fans of the franchise think there's a good chance

that Rockstar would want to return to the city for the 6th installment, and it's fair

to say that it would look quite different considering the innovations the company has

made since.

It has all the right components to make a perfect GTA game, as proven in the past.

But that past is exactly why other fans think it may be unlikely that Rockstar return to

the city – why repeat?

1 Las Vegas The last of those other 2003 trademarks filed

by Take-Two Interactive was for GTA Sin City.

It's worth noting that another city was also trademarked at the same time – GTA

San Andreas, and look how that panned out.

So while trademark speculation may just be that – speculation – it's still something

worth considering.

And to be fair, Las Vegas has a very good chance at being chosen.

It's a big American city yet to be fully explored by Rockstar, it's got a dynamic

landscape with a solid ratio of bustling city scape and rural horizons to explore, and there's

definitely potential for lots of good ol crime drive activities.

There we have it friends!

Which of these cities do you think is likely?

Or do you think it'll be set in a location we didn't even mention?

Development on GTA 6 is already rumoured to have started, but in typical Rockstar fashion,

details have been super hush hush, and it'll likely be a while before we hear of any additional

updates, so speculate away in the meantime!

Why Does Saturn Have Rings? - Duration: 5:10.

Saturn is unique.

Unlike the other 8 planets in our solar system (YES PLUTO counts to me!), Saturn has one

thing going for it the others are lacking.

Rings!

Beautiful, multicoloured rings, make the 6th planet from the sun a cosmic marvel, but how

and why are they there?

Hello and welcome back to Life's Biggest Questions, I am your host Rebecca Felgate

and today I am asking: why does Saturn have rings?

Before we take off into this video, I just want to ask you guys to leave me your comments

down below.

Okay Saturn, you big old planetary babe….what have you got for us.

Well… okay, something I said at the beginning of this video isn't actually true….

While Saturn certainly boasts the most impressive array of rings, it isn't actually the only

planet in our hood with them.

It seems that Neptune, Jupiter and Uranus have rings.

Heh.

Ahem.

Jupiter's rings, for example, were only discovered in 1979 by Nasa's Voyager 1,

and are very thin and dark, unlike Saturn's big bright ice rings, that have been the centre

of much discussion for hundreds of years.

Now, I don't want you to get too excited straight away; the subject of Saturn's rings

is still much debated in the astrological world; even our mates at Nasa don't have

a definitive answer as to why they are there, but we do have a few pretty big clues.

You may have spotted a common denominator between the four planets with advertised rings

here – Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are our four gas giants.

This likely tells us something about the way gravity on these huge planets influences its

surroundings.

While we know a little more about Jupiter's very faint rings, Saturn's bog boys have

been a source of fascination and deliberation since they were first observed by Galileo

Galilei in 1610.

Since then, we have discovered Saturn has seven groups of rings made up of thousands

of smaller rings.

Four of the group of seven stand out as being bigger than the other three, and each are

separated by gaps that scientists call divisions.

401 years after Galileo first observed Saturn's rings, American Astrophysicist, Robin Canup

posed a new theory on the planets ring formation.

This theory is widely considered to be the most credible suggestion to date.

She says that Saturns rings are icy remains of an old smashed up moon.

She thinks this moon formed billions of years ago but got too close to the planet to uphold

a stable orbit and instead was sucked close to

Saturn, it's gravity ripping it a part and unravelling its icy outer layers into the

prominent rings in orbit today.

She things the rock core of the moon the likely crashed into Saturn.

As for the 5 percent of Saturn's rings that aren't space dust – it is thought by Canup

that this is made up of meteorites that have hurtled by over the years.

Her theory is largely supported by Nasa's Larry Esposito.

While this theory does seem to explain the inner rings of Saturn, the space probe, Cassini,

which studied the planet from 2004 to 2017, suggested that the outer ring, the E ring,

is made from ice, silicates, carbon dioxide and ammonia from cryocolcanic plumes….

So, volcanic matter, from Enceladus, Saturn's 6th largest moon.

This could explain why Saturn's rings are observed to be different colours; they're

made up from different icy matter.

While Cassini plunged into Saturn in 2017, it did managed to skirt the inner rings and

send a lot of data back to earth, which is still being deciphered.

While scientists don't have all the answers yet, it is thought that the key to understanding

the group formation of the rings comes from studying the planets roche limit.

The roche limit is the distance in which a space object can get to a planet, without

its own mass being sucked into the plants gravity.

It seems Saturns rings fall are determined by the space matters roche limit, although

some of the planets moons do fall amid the rings, no doubt having their own gravitational

effect.

Final fun fact for you; whilst Saturn is the most ringalicious planet in our solar system

today, it is suspected that Mars will one day become a ringed planet.

Its moon, Phobos, is slowly being drawn closer to the red planet.

In tens of millions of years, like the suspected events that caused Saturn's iconic rings,

Phobos would likely be torn apart by Mars' gravity and form a ring of debris around our

neighbour.

So there we have it – not a definite answer but an answer using the best available information

as to why Saturn has rings.

Sadly, it doesn't seem like Earth will be getting ringy with it any time soon.

If you guys liked this video and if you want more space content then please do like this

video…also leave me a comment letting me know why you think Saturn has rings and what

your favourite planet is!

I am your host Rebecca Felgate, I'll catch you in the next video, but fir now, stay curious,

stay alert and never ever stop questioning.

How I'm Fixing Our Toxic Relationship With Earth | We Need Space | Refinery29 - Duration: 3:27.

I owe you an apology.

I'm sorry I haven't explained myself to you.

I know it seems as though I'm trying to get away.

So, I can't imagine how betrayed you must feel.

Please know, it was never my intention to hurt you.

I just wish we could somehow go back to the way things were in the beginning when we were

young, and naive.

But then, we grew together.

Explored each other.

Tested each other's limits.

We were... unstoppable.

Our love was fast, and endless.

But then, I changed.

It isn't fair to you.

I'm complex.

I'm selfish.

And I've created a toxic environment for both of us.

I only want distance so that I can learn to rebuild a healthy relationship.

I don't expect forgiveness for all the hurt I've caused.

But I want you to know that I am changing for the better.

Because this isn't goodbye.

I still need you.

So I'm not leaving yet.

And I'm going to undo as many wrongs as I can.

That's why I'm making big plans for us.

You're my first love.

And I'm forever grateful.

Dear Earth,

We Need Space.

Why is it So Hard To Stay Focused - Duration: 4:06.

Have you realised that it is extremely difficult to stay focused.

i mean its really difficult to concentrate on one thing even for 5 minutes.

If you want a proof, pick up a book and try to focus on reading that book for 5 minutes,

you will find yourself instantly thinking about something else.

Out of nowhere you will suddenly remember that you had to send that message, or check

this website, or drink a coffee.

We live in the 21st century and with all of this technology it seems like we have to be

super productive but for one reason or another our productivity is extremely low.

I mean, even when you are watching a movie, no matter how interesting it is, you will

quickly find yourself distracted, scrolling your instagram or facebook, trying to find

something more interesting.

Even this very video, most of your wont watch this video till the end and will certainly

get distracted somewhere in the middle (at least thats what youtube analytics says)

So lets try to figure out how did we end up like this and what should we do about it!

If you look around, everyone is trying to get your attention, because in the modern

world, your attention equals money.

Who ever gets it makes more money.

In fact, the whole internet business is about getting your attention.

Every single year companies spend billions of dollars trying to figure out new ways to

distract you with videos, movies, stories and now, filters.

And without realising that, we developed short attention span.

Our brains are so use to short distractions that it literally cant concentrate for longer

periods.

And it seems like its just getting worse!

The problem is not only that its making us less productive but its also making us less

empathetic!

I mean, look at how news are made, first they will tell you about an airstrike that happened

last night which took the lives of 50 innocent children, then in a matter of seconds they

move to talk about with whom Kim Kardashian was hanging out last night, then they will

tell you that Tesla shares soared in the last few hours.

Now, Think about it how is it influencing you!

When such a tragedy is followed by some nonsense, we stopped valuing human lives and we start

reacting to such news as if its not a big deal.

When we are constantly bombarded with mixed news from everywhere, we stopped even distinguishing

truth from false.

And news such as children dying out of hunger in some part of the world becomes something

normal.

The negative consequences of short attention span are worst than we think!

But the main question right now is, What can you do about it!

One of the most effective ways I found is, turn off your wifi time to time.

When you are out there having a drink with your friends, enjoy the moment instead of

constantly getting distracted by your phone.

When you are walking out in the streets, try to stay conscious and focus on whats happening

around you rather than getting distracted again by instagram stories!

Second, try to read more books.

The longer you can concentrate reading a book, the longer you can stay focused when you are

working!

Unlike movies, books require your full concentration if you want to understand the point!

Wether you like reading books or not, they are perfect tools to build your focus.

No matter how busy you are, even 20 minutes of daily reading will have significant effect

on your concentration.

And finally Meditate.

If you have been watching this channel for a while you know that I am a big fun of meditation.

I have entire video on how to meditate, which link I will leave in the description.

In all our human history, we have never had so much free time like we have today.

Back in the day, people had to work day and night just to feed themselves but not today.

If you master your attention, you will find yourself suddenly having so much time, that

you never thought you have and you will have the time to work on that project even if you

have a full time job!

and now its your turn, How do you train your brain to stay focused?

Lets me know in the comments below!

And as always, hit that like button if you have enjoyed this

video and if you don't want to miss the next video, then hit that subscribe button

and the bell besides it.

Thanks for watching and I will see you in the next one

PURPLEPATCH FITNESS triathlon training camp day 2: an ENORMOUS day of triathlon training - Duration: 6:52.

(bike whirring)

- Morning trainiacs, big, big day,

big bike, run, maybe a leg off the bike, then go for a swim.

Like, we aren't coming back.

Suffer today, love it.

This is day two of Purple Patch San Francisco mini camp.

(upbeat music)

- Alright captain, what are we doing today?

- We have got a very busy day today,

yesterday was all about technique and, we went

through and did some hill repetitions yesterday,

we did some run form yesterday,

we start to put it into action.

So we have a big ride, and we're going very very hilly,

we're thinking about riding through tours,

they have to run off the bike

then we're gonna have a big lunch,

talk about swimming, and then we're

gonna go through and do some swimming form.

And we're gonna focus on two things on the swim,

the first is some technical features,

the second which is really important is

understanding a sense of pacing.

So a series of progressive efforts from form based

swimming, endurance swimming, race paced and hard,

and hopefully, as effort goes up, speed goes up.

That's not always the case.

(pop music)

- We're going to unleash the fury.

When you get to the top it will be obvious, you'll

try and sneak past me.

(pop music)

- How's everybody feeling?

- (Riders Answering)

(pop music)

- I think like, let's frame, let's frame the sport

to begin, and I think this is important for your lens

when you approach training and you approach racing.

This sport is not comprised of swimming,

cycling, and running.

This sport is swim, bike, run.

It is one sport with three disciplines.

Paul said something the other day, which I think is

really really good lens to look through.

You don't need to because if the wonderful interaction

of the three disciplines, you don't need to run

for general fitness.

You don't want to, you don't need

to think about your running

training as building global fitness.

Because you have two wonderful disciplines,

cycling and swimming where you can develop

wonderful central cardiovascular fitness,

and some muscular resilience that lead you in.

And if you take the lens on your running,

that you're just going to run for fitness,

there's a high chance with most of you guys sitting

around the table, that a large percentage of that

running training that you'll be doing

will be executed with less

than preferable form.

And when you start running poorly,

the economy drops, the mechanical fatigue increases

and your risk of injury increases.

So instead, it's quite a hard one this morning,

three in a row there, so we, so what did we do today?

So yesterday we did a whole bunch of technique,

and today we went and applied it so we went and

endurance ride, and we deliberately made it

a whole bunch of climbing, a lot of variable terrain,

a lot of rolling terrain, and just little bit of flat.

And we asked them to take the tools that we taught them

and apply it to an endurance ride today.

So we rode several hours, pretty strong, and then

we stretched them, some real training.

We had them run off the bike, mostly for familiarity,

a little bit of form, but really it was just a little

bonus for some muscular resilience.

Had a lovely lunch, enjoyed a coffee after, then we

had a lecture on swimming,

we talked about the value of being swim fit,

some of the technical elements, and the use of tools

and now what we're going to do is we're going go and

do an progressively building set of intervals to help

them develop a sense of awareness on pacing.

So we can take the darn watches off, where they get

their feedback, and have them develop the inner animal,

where they can actually learn what it feels like

to swim at endurance level, at race pace level

and then of course swimming fast.

And that'll do the day.

- You're a mean man giving that to us

after three and a half hours

- Brutalness, rightful brutalness.

(pop music)

- How did that day go?

- Huh?

- How did that day go?

- It was a good day.

- Just a tidy little six hour day.

- Yeah

(laughing)

(door slams)

- You know who's tired?

I'm tired, I think that was a four and a half

hour ride, and three hours ten minute of ride time

a twenty minute run, immediately off the bike

lunch, and then a one hour twenty four minute

twenty six hundred yard swim,

with a fair bit of max effort.

(exhales)

Whoa, whoa, California?

You guys got hills.

Whoa, that was, that was something, you bored?

- Not the fastest on the hills.

But like, two, three, there's actually one

woman here, Megan, she was a steeple chase

runner at Cal Berkeley, just started riding

about three weeks ago, like a ring tailed lemur up the hill.

She's so light, but so strong, holy turd.

Run, same sort of thing, not the fastest,

but you get a steeple chase racer,

yeah she beat me good, and swim, was I not the fastest?

I really don't know, its all just such a blur

guys you know what?

Matt did a good job, explaining what was what,

he's just got that smooth British accent

I can't say anything better than he says,

it was a big day, a lot of work,

I'm gonna end it there, and eat a lot of stuff.

Diet Breaks: Helps You Lose Weight? - Duration: 5:57.

Dieting sucks.

It's tiresome… and starving yourself for months of your favorite ice cream is a cruel

and unusual punishment.

Such is the case for the chase of your ideal body.

At least that's what we've been told.

Fortunately, there might be a savior of such pain and suffering.

And that is the use of… diet breaks.

It might seem counter-intuitive initially, because it is true that if you want to lose

weight, you have to take in less energy, or calories, over time, than your body expends.

Adding a break, on paper, means that it will only stall your results or worse yet, gain

some of the weight back.

Incidentally, that belief is exactly how the idea of diet breaks being a potential weight

loss tool came to fruition.

In 2003, researchers attempted to accelerate the effects commonly seen when people fall

off their diets, particularly the negative effects of weight gain relapse.

To their surprise, participants that were prescribed breaks during a weight loss program,

either multiple 2-week breaks or a 6-week break, didn't really gain much weight at

all and had very little problem jumping back into their diet.

At 5 and 11-month follow-ups, weight loss did not differ much between the continuous

dieting gourp to those prescribed breaks.

According to the researchers, it's seems that the PLANNING of the break, rather than

the break per se, was a major factor.

More on this in a second.

The physiological mechanisms in play during breaks remain to be determined, with leading

theories suggesting breaks repair hormonal imbalances, particularly leptin, which controls

our hunger signals, and thyroid hormones, which regulate metabolism.

One might also suggest a diet break increases NEAT, or non-exercise activity thermogenesis.

This assumes that during long periods of dieting, one might subconsciously be less willing or

lack energy to perform mundane activities, like dancing to their favorite song or going

on a walk.

The additional fuel from breaks potentially reverses that decline.

Psychological benefits might exist as well.

Back to the idea of planning, the researchers theorized that planned breaks essentially

removed the feeling of self-blame or guilt stemming from one's personal failures of

adhering to a diet.

Since it's planned, it can lead to a positive feeling rather than a negative.

Of course, there is the benefit of eating the foods you desire earlier than anticipated.

Later on, in 2014, a study on obese women using a 1-week on, 1-week off diet to break

schedule, found that, after 8 weeks, continuous dieting did lead to greater weight loss (3.5kg

vs 1.9kg IER), but, in a 12-month follow-up, the differences were not significant.

A 2016 meta-analysis further looked at 9 studies partaking experiments on intermittent energy

restriction protocols, concluded that neither intermittent breaks nor continuous energy

restriction were superior to one another in terms of weight loss.

But it was only in 2018 that we had research suggesting superior benefits with prescribed

breaks.

The study was titled "Minimising Adaptive Thermogenesis And Deactivating Obesity Rebound,"

aka, the MATADOR study.

They randomized obese men to either a continuous dieting group sustaining a 33% calorie deficit

through 16 weeks, or the intermittent energy restriction group, which also sustained a

33% calorie deficit through 16 weeks but with a planned 2-week break every 2 weeks.

IE.

A 2-on:2-off ratio.

For those that completed the entire program, weight loss was 59% greater in participants

taking breaks than continuous dieting.

At a 6-month follow-up, the difference jumped to 80%, or 8.1 kilograms more weight lost,

largely because the continuous dieting group ended up regaining most of their weight.

On top of that, the weight lost was almost exclusively fat mass, in both groups, but

significantly more with intermittent breaks.

Of course… there's one big catch.

The continuous dieting intervention lasted 16 weeks.

The intermittent break protocol… took 30 weeks.

That's because the researchers wanted to match the duration of energy restriction,

16 weeks in both groups.

The 2-week breaks in between cannot be accounted as part of that restriction, since they clearly

weren't restricting calories during those times.

Thus, the additional 14 weeks of breaks.

This longer dieting time might be less desirable for those that need to lose weight in a short

time frame.

The MATADOR study also prescribed participants to eat at an energy balance, or just enough

to not gain or lose any weight, during their breaks, meaning to replicate the potential

benefits in the study, you can't just eat whatever and however much you want during

break time.

Also, studies that either saw superior or equal results typically used obese subjects.

Whether breaks are as effective in leaner individuals remain to be seen.

And one more limitation is the lack of consistent, or any, exercise protocol in these studies.

As we know, exercise can very well change the entire landscape of body composition when

paired with an effective weight loss program.

Still, a benefit does seem to exist, both physiologically and psychologically.

As far as implementation, going off the MATADOR study, a 2-week on, 2-week off program might

be a good place to start.

One can argue that leaner individuals might benefit from more frequent breaks due to the

greater physiological pushback at lower body fat percentages.

Heavier individuals might use breaks less, like a 4:2 or 6:2 ratio, since they tend to

see consistent weight loss for longer periods of time.

Not much reason to throw in a break when results are flowing quite nicely.

The main takeaway is that diet breaks do at least serve as an alternative.

An alternative that not many people are familiar with and, with so many of us struggling to

lose weight, any alternative is openly welcomed.

If you're one of those struggling, try taking those breaks before the diet breaks you.

Share your thoughts and experiences with diet breaks in the comments below.

The rise of Fortnite and PUBG: How Battle Royales took over the world - Duration: 12:53.

"Welcome back. Well if your children love video games, chances are they're playing one called Fortnite."

"Now if your children like video games, chances are they love a new game that's called Fortnite."

"Now the latest video game craze is Fornite."

"It's huge, it's absolutely huge. And a mobile phone version of the game is about to be launched

that's going to of course tighten the game's grip even more."

"This is a new game called Fortnite. It's drawing millions of players and some parents are worrying their kids

are spending way too much time at the controls."

"Parents say it's driving them absolutely mad because kids are just so hooked on it."

"What makes this game different."

Battle Royale games could be the most popular genre in the world right now.

Between Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, the genre is the most streamed and watched

thing on Twitch by just about every metric,

from concurrent viewers, to hours watched to most time streamed.

The genre's rapid explosion has led to dozens of copycats,

with Battle Royale modes implemented in many games, and clones taking over on every possible platform.

But two games, PUBG and Fortnite, changed everything.

"Epic tells us that across PCs, consoles, and mobile devices. More than 45 million have played the game."

"At one point last month 3.4 million people were playing at the same time."

"Streaming gaming company, Twitch says over a billion minutes of Fortnite gameplay were watched last month

alone."

"Even rapper Drake joined a game, and broke Twitch's record for the most viewed game stream."

The Battle Royale genre got its start in the world of mods.

Fans inspired by movies like the Hunger Games built themed mods for Minecraft around 2012.

"Minecraft survival, these are the rules for the players."

"Only one player can win the survival games."

"You cannot break any blocks."

"Except for leaves and mushrooms."

"You are only allowed place blocks you find in chests."

"Your inventory must be empty before you start."

"No player is allowed to enter the host's house."

"So those are the rules."

The idea worked pretty much just like Hunger Games.

A handful of players are set free on an island, starting in front of a pile of weapons and

gear before running into the wilds to kill each other and be the last one standing.

"Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor."

But the concept wasn't unique to the Hunger Games either.

The Battle Royale concept was essentially kicked off by a book and movie of the same name.

The concept should sound familiar to PUBG or Fortnite players:

42 high school students are dropped on an island, given weapons, and told they have to kill each other

until only one survives.

Inspired by Battle Royale's take on the concept,

a down-on-his-luck photographer and graphic designer named Brendan "PlayerUnknown"

Greene decided to start making his own Battle Royale mods for zombie survival game DayZ.

Greene switched over to modding the ARMA series for a while, and was eventually brought on

by Daybreak Games to consult on their own zombie survival battle royale game, H1Z1.

Greene then moved on to work with Korean publisher Bluehole to make his very own, standalone

Battle Royale game:

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

PUBG launched in early access in March 2017, and almost immediately blew up.

It made 11 million dollars within three days.

Halfway through April, it hit one million copies sold.

By June it was at four million copies sold, with over 100 million dollars in sales revenue.

In December, not even a year after launch, PUBG reached 3.2 million concurrent players,

higher than any other game on Steam.

It's still the most played game on Steam, day in and day out, beating Dota 2 and CS:GO

the former kings of Steam by more than a million users.

"The success we've seen has been so insane.

"It's the most played game on Steam now.

"Right? Like by quite a large margin which is... So I've never expected this"

"I think right now, I just keep plowing forward and meeting fans and making games"

PUBG launched unfinished, riddled with bugs, lag issues and horribly optimized performance.

"How do I fall there? There's a f***ing railing there! How do I fall through the railing?"

It had one map and no way to learn how to interact with its dozens of intricate, interconnected

systems without playing over and over again.

"And I think that's what the draw is, that there is no rules there's no 'you have to play this way' it's just you can

jump in and play and whatever way you want do, if you want to win with a pan you can go ahead."

By every metric, it should have been a cult hit, something that struck a chord with a

dedicated niche of hardcore players and barely registered outside.

But instead, it turned the industry upside down, and inadvertently created its biggest competitor.

"You know one thing we wanted to look into was like, for example there's no IP protection in gaming."

"You know in movies, in music, there's IP protection. You know that you really can protect your work."

"But in gaming that doesn't exist yet."

Buoyed by PUBG's incredible success, dozens of Battle Royale games cropped up on steam,

console and mobile, and even big existing games added Battle Royale modes, including Grand Theft Auto.

But only one game surpassed PUBG in popularity: Fortnite.

"This week Fortnite shocked the top of the app charts after private Epic Games opened sign ups

for the iOS version of the Battle Royale mode which is a hundred players, virtually fighting it out until one is left."

Fortnite was a game trapped in development hell for the better part of a decade.

Originally announced way back in 2011, Fortnite was meant to be Epic Games' answer to Minecraft.

It was a showcase for the then-upcoming Unreal Engine 4, and tasked players with building

massive forts and protecting them from monsters.

But the game stayed in development for years, delayed by the difficulties that come with

working in a brand new engine, and Epic's desire to release it through the game-as-a-service

model, with constant updates and tweaks.

"Fortnite is just a very natural next step for Epic."

"It feels extremely like the right thing for us."

"Because it is the very next step in making Epic a game company that's current."

By 2015, Fortnite development was sidelined in favor of Paragon, Epic's sci-fi MOBA shooter.

By 2017, Fortnite was finally ready for the public, but people weren't coming to the game in droves.

It was still the minecraft-meets-shooter-meets-RPG that Epic pitched all those years ago, but fans weren't biting.

Until, Epic added a Battle Royale mode to Fortnite and spun it off into

its own free-to-play game.

"So we thought if we took Fortnite's dynamic destructible world, and its unique building mechanics, and then combined

that with what's best about the Battle Royale genre. That we could create something that was amazing."

"Fortnite: Battle Royale is the 100 player last man standing PvP experience you know so well."

"But combined with the limitless world of Fortnite."

Fortnite: Battle Royale beat PUBG to consoles, and its more arcadey gunplay and kid-friendly

visuals made it far more accessible than PUBG's military realism aesthetic.

The increased accessibility paid off.

According to Epic Games, Fortnite broke Battlegrounds' concurrent players record in February 2018,

hitting 3.4 million concurrents.

Meanwhile, Fornite has shot up to being the sixth most watched game on Twitch in the last

year, in only seven months since launch.

It's also the third most streamed game over the last year.

Battlegrounds is currently beating Fortnite in the streaming wars, sitting pretty as the

second most watched game and the most streamed game on Twitch.

But the explosive growth of these two games has mystified plenty of industry pundits.

Fortnite's numbers, especially, put it on track to be the biggest game Twitch has ever seen,

with an average of over 5,000 channels concurrently streaming Fortnite across February and March.

"I have dubbed this Fortnite Mania. We're in the midst of it, you're in the epicentre of Fortnite Mania right now."

"What do you think it was that has triggered this? It wasn't just Drake and Ninja. Even before that"

"Yeah it was blowing up way before that."

"You know a lot of people ask that question, and it's kinda hard to answer that because

we are kind of in the middle of it."

There's a few possible reasons for that.

First of all, and perhaps most obviously, the games are fun.

"What do I do man?"

PUBG, Fortnite and their dozens of copycats have an ebb and flow to their gameplay

that can't happen in other competitive games.

When the game starts, it's a rush to get geared up, then there's a consistent and constant dread

as you continuously make your way to safety, punctuated by explosive gunfights,

all leading up to catharsis, whether that comes in victory or death.

Another reason the genre has gotten so popular is the inherent watchability of Battle Royale games.

That tension comes with a ton of downtime, the kind you don't get in a fast-paced game like CS:GO

or a mechanically intensive MOBA like League of Legends or Dota 2.

That means streamers get to interact with their viewers and develop personalities

that you don't get as often in other popular streaming games.

PUBG was directly inspired by Battle Royale, and it carries the film's structure into gameplay.

There's a calm intro, a quick rush of action, and then tension that's constantly cut with combat.

Every game is a movie.

And movies need actors.

"I call it the TriHawk.

Part of the Battle Royale genre's incredible growth is thanks in part to the immense number

of streamers that broadcast the game on Twitch.

Over the last year, Twitch has broadcast a combined total of over 3,000 years of PUBG

and Fortnite footage, and Twitch viewers have watched over 94,000 years of the games.

PUBG has been buoyed by players like former CS:GO pro shroud, whose incredible plays have

made him a hit on Twitch.

(Stream)

But even players without competitive origins have found success through PUBG.

DrDisRespect is an over-the-top parody of macho '80s action movie characters

played by Twitch streamer Guy Beahm, and despite some controversy,

he has emerged as one of the game's most notable faces, for better and for worse.

"Hey Michael, I'd headbutt your left cheek then I'd headbutt your right cheek

And then I'd headbutt your nose and then I'd headbutt your chest. By that time you probably won't be breathing."

Fortnite, meanwhile, has been quickly overtaking PUBG on Twitch thanks to more approachable

personalities, like former Halo pro Ninja,

He's become Twitch's biggest star with over 180,000 subs

and gets to play rounds of Fortnite with Drake and Travis Scott.

(Stream)

Of course, Ninja and Drake aren't the only extremely popular personality playing Fortnite.

Fortnite's has gained exposure from celebrities playing and tweeting about the game.

And some of pubg's biggest star's like shroud and summit1g have also begun streaming Fortnite

in addition to other games.

(Stream)

But neither game is satisfied with where it is right now.

Bluehole is attempting to fix PUBG's controversial Miramar map,

while adding two more maps to the rotation.

Meanwhile, Epic Games is porting Fortnite to iOS and Android and including crossplay.

Together, PUBG and Fortnite signal the next phase of a massive trend in gaming.

They're games designed to be streamed and watched, games that have broken record after record,

all without any signs of slowing down.

They've brought in hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue,

with the two games combined bringing in an estimated $200 million in January 2018 alone.

Battle Royale games are the most popular games in the world.

And it doesn't seem like anything can stop them.

LIVING IN NEW YORK CITY: Where I Work - Duration: 9:45.

this video was brought to you by Squarespace whether you need a domain

website or online store make it with Squarespace

I am a youtuber living and working in New York City and you are probably

thinking what does that mean what do I do

where do I work in this video we're going to explore exactly what I do

and where I work so it's a question that I get asked a lot but in 2018 it's

pretty safe to say that most people know that you can have a career making videos

online as a creator the influencer category is it one billion-dollar

industry this is honestly what fuels my work coffee press for the win oh it's

very hot I am incredibly thankful and I've worked for years to make a living

as a full time youtuber and now for the big question how does being a youtuber

actually work well it's different for every creator you know there's no one

defined answer to that question YouTube itself pays by views via Adsense I have

a production company where I produce content for brands and finally I work

very closely with select brands in paid partnerships with that said I spend the

majority of my time planning writing filming and editing videos and I choose

to base myself here in New York because it is one of the largest travel hubs in

the whole world and almost every major company has headquarters here given that

I work freelance I don't have a nine-to-five there's a few places that I

choose to work from and I'm going to show you my day-to-day workflow and why

each specific spot that I work from has its benefits

I have to say before we really dive into this video that most of the places that

I'm about to show are more so geared towards freelancers you know people who

aren't really working it's the nine-to-five the first spot on my list

is a staple for the New York freelancer it is the coffee shop the spot we're

going to now is one of my favorite coffee spots in the whole city the

coffee shop is more or less the entry-level work space for the New York

City creative you know the costs are very low a cup of coffee is about two to

three dollars there's free internet coffee shops in New York built very fast

my tip is to they're early stake out your claim if

the coffee shop is perfect for what I would like to call passive work meaning

I wouldn't go to a coffee shop and take on some big project mainly I go to the

coffee shop to edit photos to work on video scripts and to just sort of people

watch it's one of those places where you can always find inspiration just

watching it you know the streets of the city and the people and all the noises

the only drawback is the fact that they can get very very crowded as the day

goes on which brings us to the next location that I work from in this place

right here this is where I get the heavy duty work done you probably guess it the

second spot that I work from the majority of the time is my apartment and

the best thing about working from home is the fact that I can work in my

underwear it's very casual there's no dress code policy here you've probably

seen my apartment tour you've probably seen all the videos I've made on this

apartment the kind of work that I do from home that's the big jobs those are

the big heavy edits I sit right here let me zoom this out I sit right here at my

computer and I will spend some day as well the 13-14 hours right here at this

desk editing even though it's a beautiful day we have to shut these

windows all distractions are gone and now we are just in the Edit filmmaking

portal when I'm working on those glossy travel videos this is what my office

looks like it's pretty much an edit Bay but there always comes a time where you

have to dress up and you need a place that is a bit more appropriate for

business meetings

for my next space that I work from in the city I am joined by my business

partners the one and only mr. Mike shepherd a and manager jeredy now you

don't go following on instagram at manager Jerrod as you can see behind

these beautiful glass doors we have two computers with monitors we have two

desks two or three chairs depending on how many people need to be in here

there's endless coffee you have the bottomless coffee cups here then you

have these nice little tables if you want to take a call out in the kitchen

area the view out the window just a nice New York City brownstone apartments one

big benefit from working in a co-working space is the fact that you have blazing

internet you have a printing station copying station basically all the

amenities that you have in a corporate office but it's a bit more bespoke bit

more low-key a bit more startup world which is great because there's people

here that are mainly startups and that's very inspiring to be in a space like

that we also get mail here and a big thing in New York City which a lot of

people may not realize is that it's difficult to get mail if you're not home

if you don't have a doorman you just can't get mail having a place in office

that you know your mail will be safe and secure is also a big benefit to have any

office another really cool feature of this co-working space is the fact that

we have these little rooms that you can make phone calls tiny little private

rooms chair it's actually more right now let's go this is a perfect campaign I

cannot wait to tell the guys about it they're gonna be very excited another

big positive for the co-working space is the fact that you have access to these

massive conference rooms you could have five 10 15 people in this room they are

quiet no one will disturb you I mean what do you think about this I mean it's

great this is what we do and this is where we have the big meetings if you

are looking for that professional business setting getting a co-working

space would be your go-to bet one of the only drawbacks that I can really find to

a co-working space is the fact that it's kind of pricey you know you're paying

rent it's not a coffee shop it's not free you know it's not your apartment

rent which is your cost of you know you're living there and working there so

it's an extra rent on top of your rent which can add up

the last option before having a place to work in New York is actually having your

own physical studio space and I'm here with deewana and only Sam Shepard I make

youtube videos that are mostly focused on technology and exploring the world of

tech and then I also stream on Twitch pretty regularly our content is very

different and I think that reflects in the spaces that we work what is this

space what is this building this is the world-famous 368 Broadway in downtown

Manhattan Casey Neistat works down the hall the entire building is filled with

creatives and artists I literally only am in my apartment for sleeping these

days I get here it's been the entire day here make videos here edit videos here

play video games here have meetings here it is actually very interesting because

I spend a lot of time working from home I was actually thinking about this

there's some days when I'm editing videos where I don't leave my apartment

where I'm just working from home and you were saying that you're only at your

apartment to sleep yeah and I'm like hearing that I'm kind of envious that

Sam has a place that he can just come to and solely create as a creative in New

York having your own space to make things is the pinnacle of I guess making

it as a creator so you're very lucky to have a space like this it's very dope I

agree and with that you want to give us a little tour of it yeah let's do it

I love giving tours this is the spot right here there's uh there's some other

human beings in here right now but the most important human being in here

besides me and Eric is Patrick back there Patrick works for Casey Patrick

and I share the space so we're in here together

every single day I actually rent this space from Casey though like I said is

down the hall II kind of one day was just like hey you want to rent the space

for me I don't really use it so when I got here this was pretty much built all

the way out like the chair was in here the desk was in here these like fake

plants were in here the lights in the windows were here the loft was in here

everything was totally built out so I moved in and slowly but surely all of my

gear moved in with me and now it looks like this so being that this is Casey's

annex he's got a bunch of stuff stored up there all sorts of prompts and just

like weird random kc things up there and then

on the shelves above is various gears there's actually some Bitcoin miners up

there immediately behind the door is the skateboard wall I travel on my boosted

board exclusively like I never walk when I'm in Manhattan I ride my electric

skateboard everywhere custom-built main gear my pride and joy what is the green

stuff in there does that actually do anything it's a liquid cooling rig so

there's liquid flowing through there onto the GPU and then onto the CPU yeah

it's it's legit and you know sometimes when you want to just pump out some

pull-ups you just you just can do it right here if you are more into tech I

actually made a video on Sims channel going over basically gear to how to

become a youtuber yeah so if you're interested it check that out the videos

link down below in the description go subscribe to Sam's show him some love

I'll see you there as you can see what I essentially do is run a business and in

2018 a very important part of having a business

is having a great website Squarespace is the best place to build a website and

they have award-winning 24/7 customer support Squarespace is an all-in-one

platform meaning there's nothing to patch nothing to upgrade ever it's

simple to set up or transfer your domain with Squarespace head on over to

Squarespace calm for a free trial when you're ready to launch go to Squarespace

calm /eric to save 10% off your first purchase and with that if you enjoyed

today's video leave a like if you're new here make sure to subscribe comment down

below ideas for more New York City content while I'm home in the city I

want to really make videos about life in the city apartment tours I know you guys

like that last one with Sirhan and with that I will see you in the next video so

until then as always remember to smile more worry less and new fashion

CONFIRMED: Trump Hit Syria To Validate His Tweets - Duration: 3:43.

A new report in the New York Times claims that Donald Trump only sent missiles over

to Syria to bomb those buildings because he had previously tweeted out a few days before

that he was going to be tough on Syria.

Here's the way military officials, including National, excuse me, Defense Secretary Jim

Mattis, this is what they said happened in the week leading up to those missile strikes

in Syria.

Russia came out and said, "United States, if you shoot missiles over here, we're going

to shoot them down."

Then Donald Trump got on his big, bold tweet saying, "They're going to be bigger, stronger,

smarter missiles, and you're not going to be able to shoot them down."

Fox and Friends decides to run a segment saying, "Russia should not be saying that.

We're tougher than them.

We're getter than them," to which Donald Trump then live tweeted that same segment talking

tough about Syria, saying we're going to shoot missiles, we're going to bomb them, we're

going to do whatever we can, all while Jim Mattis is in the background telling Donald

Trump, "First of all, we have no proof that this alleged chemical attack was actually

a chemical attack or that Asad did it.

We don't know the facts, so could you please shut your damn mouth for a few minutes and

stop the tweeting."

Those weren't his exact words, but this is what they're saying kind of happened behind

the scenes.

"Hold off on doing anything until we get the facts."

Then when Trump said, "No, I want to send missiles over there," he said, "Okay, well

let's get the approval of congress first."

Trump said, "No."

"Mister Trump," the official said, "Wanted to be seen as backing up a series of bellicose

tweets with action, but was warned that an overly aggressive response risked igniting

a wider war with Russia."

That is coming from officials in the United States military who were around Trump as he

made the decision.

This was not based on whether or not the chemical attack happened.

This was based on the president saying, "Well shit, I already tweeted that out, so I guess

I got to do it.

All right, let's bomb them."

That's what happened.

For all those people out there who think that, "Oh, Donald Trump's Twitter feed, that's nothing

to talk about.

It's just a distraction," he just bombed the hell out of Syria because he wanted to make

sure that he didn't look like a liar in his tweets saying he was going to be tough on

Syria.

This is what happens when you give the keys to the United States to a petulant little

man child who has no idea what he's doing.

To their credit, people like Jim Mattis who said, "We have no evidence that these attacks

were real, or that they took place, or that this was carried out by Asad, or that it was

a chemical attack, and we have to get the approval of congress," yeah, to his credit

Mattis tried to do it the right way and wait for evidence, but Trump couldn't do that because

he was watching Fox, and Friends and getting mad, and tweeting.

That is what our United States Foreign Policy is based on today.

By that measure alone, Donald Trump needs to be removed from office immediately under

the 25th Amendment as being unfit to serve as the President of the United States.

NO SUCH THING AS CHANCE - Duration: 6:43.

NO SUCH THING AS CHANCE

BY Elva Thompson

Every Cause has its effect; every Effect has its Causes; everything happens according

to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognised; there are many planes of causation, but nothing

escapes the Law. ~The Kybalion

Man for the most part stumbles through life like a sleepwalker.

He is unaware that for every thought and action he takes in his life there is an equal and

opposite reaction.

Our thoughts are energetic charges of energy which resonate on the unseen world of cause

and bounce back into the manifest physical world of effect.

This is called the Law of Return and it is just to beggar and king alike.

Our thoughts and actions are either aligned with life (harmonious) or misaligned (inharmonious)

and, as a result of our thinking our lives are either fulfilled or unfulfilled.

The thoughts we entertain and the actions we take have consequences which are inevitable

and cannot be retracted, bargained with or bought off.

In the words of Omar Khayyam: The moving finger writes; and, having writ moves on:

nor all thy piety or wit shall lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all thy tears wash

out a word of it. Therefore, man alone is the master of his own thinking and the

maker and shaker of his destiny.

Timeless Wisdom A mans mind may be likened to a garden,

which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected,

it must, and will, bring forth.

If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed seeds will fall

therein, and will continue to produce their kind. ~James Allen, As a Man Thinketh

What We Sow We Reap I was first introduced to the works of James

Allen in the late sixties and early seventies when I was a motivator for a direct sales

business.

His understandings about positive thinking had a tremendous impact upon me and using

his techniques of positive thinking and intent, I became very successful in my business.

His analogy of the mind being like a garden has stuck with me through the twists and turns

of life.

Our lives can be literally likened to a garden a neutral sea of energy that is waiting

to be planted.

Our thoughts are the seeds and what we plant in our garden of today will dictate our circumstances

in the garden of tomorrow.

When we think about our thoughts as seeds we understand that just as an acorn holds

the blueprint for the oak tree, so our thoughts hold the blueprint for our life experience. The

garden knows no right or wrong it is neutral and does not care what we plant in it but

it will return what we sow.

Success or failure happiness or misery.

It really is up to us.

Life Doesnt Happen to Us We Happen to it

He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass: environment is but a looking glass. ~James

Allen We live in a duality and as the pendulum swings

we all experience the good times and the bad times success and failure, our ups and

downs.

As humans most of us have a tendency to fail to notice the wonderful things about our lives

and instead dwell on our misfortunes.

It is easy to become fixated on the bad events that happen to us and some even bask in their

martyrdom.

Dwelling on the bad stuff leads to negative attitudes and the vicious cycle of pessimistic

and defeatist reality that follows.

Once we become negatively charged we feel depressed, hopeless and helpless.

The black chasms of gloom hang over us like a funeral shroud.

Our conversations tend to revolve around the negative our misfortunes, the blame game,

how life has treated us unfairly, and our aches and pains.

It is hard for us to shift our awareness from negative to positive.

We tend to wallow in self-pity and blame circumstance for our condition when in fact, all of us

have the inner power to forge a way out of our problems but the slow vibration of

envy, fear, and despair make it hard to flip the switch of our mind from negative to positive.

We try and stagger up only to fall back down again and sadly there are many folk who are

only too eager to re-enforce our lack of confidence and self-esteem the phrase Youre

useless or you cant do that are readily upon their lips.

But, when we realise that our circumstances are a direct result of our thinking, the nay-sayers

become irrelevant.

We can overcome the negative and make a positive change within our lives.

Thoughts Are Alive Dr Masaru Emoto, the Japanese scientist and

water researcher shows us how our thoughts and words impact the molecular structure of

water.

Positive loving words and thoughts create harmonious(positive)crystal like structures

while negative, poisonous thoughts create incomplete and blighted patterns of reality.

The human body is made of 70% water, and his research shows how our thoughts can have profound

implications on our health, our life experience and the well-being of the planet.

When we see the news of today with its negative undertow it is hardly surprising that the

factors that create a negative reality surround us.

When we understand that our thoughts create our reality we will also realise that positive

thoughts and actions can never produce bad results in the same way that negative thoughts

and actions cannot produce positive results.

What we think is what we areand what we act upon returns to us.

Fate does not existthere is no such thing as chance.

We can be anything we want to be in this life if we cultivate our garden with seeds of love

and happiness.

Keep ourselves in a positive state of mind and align ourselves with life.

We must learn to reach beyond the restriction and limitation of sense bound thinking and

enter the holistic vision of the real life.

It is time for a quickening of the spirit; an expansion of our awareness to encompass

the eternal oneness of spiritual reality.

Lets push the positive buttons.

point three but let's talk about some specific crypto so vici a lot of you

guys have been asking me about V chain and so I went and I did more research on

it and what from confirming from what I found out I thought the idea was really

a cool I thought it's something that was necessary I thought something that will

make it easier for the average Joe who hasn't been in cryptocurrency for a year

to already to be able to use dabs without making

having to go through so much of the complication and that to me things that

make other things simple for new users or for businesses I think is awesome and

they are addressing the issue when it comes to fees in cryptocurrency and who

pays the fees and how often there are fees and the difficult step sometimes

there's several steps between getting things done and at a two billion dollar

market cap honestly I've been see I've been watching v chain climb for some

time never really jumped into it because you guys know I have a ton of all coins

already and I don't want to buy too many but this is looking very interesting I

definitely think it's something that could be valuable in the future my only

concern with V chain is if if the area implements the technology that they are

using right now they are ahead of the pack when it comes to this but it

definitely is possible for aetherium to adapt the technology and then sort of

run with it and then that would make a complication for V chain but at the

price level right now at a two billion dollar market cap I think it is

undervalued for what it's worth and what it could be worth from its all-time high

as well it was a the all-time high nine point four five dollars I think it's

definitely possible for us to see that get back there which would be a two

point five X on your investment so picking it you can pick it up on Finance

of yeah it's on Finance that's probably be where I go ahead to pick it up or

Kobe's not too bad as well but I am a big fan of Finance I would probably pick

it up on Finance but yeah it looks it looks very cool if you guys want me to

do a more in-depth review of V chain I kind of gave a rundown of what it does I

am open to doing that as well so that could be something you leave me in the

comments down below asking for an in-depth review video for V chain and I

will add that to the list of several in-depth reviews that I still have to do

for you guys I apologize for not getting those done sooner but yeah V chain looks

very interesting I'm gonna keep my eye on it I'm going to do more and more

research on it see where things head with it and keep you guys updated

throughout that journey now the second one I want to talk about is - so - does

have a three point seven billion dollar market cap almost double what V chain is

at ranked number twelve its all-time high though was all the way over here

here are we gonna be able to get all the way there maybe not it was close to

$1600 and the fact that it's sitting at 468 right now - took a huge huge hit if

we take out the Bitcoin price you guys will be able to see it come on there we

go yeah we take I take out the Bitcoin price you guys are actually able to see

it and it went up a lot it was that around about thousand five hundred I say

it's at four hundred sixty and now so dad - took a big hit and still has a

ways to recover now the reason people like - is because it does have a privacy

aspect to it and what it does is takes small transactions bundles them together

and sends them as a bigger transaction in order to keep people in order to make

it more private and make it more secure for the user for the person sending

sending out the - and I think that's something really cool circulating supply

is very low maximum supply also very very low lower than bitcoins and yeah I

think if we can see - I think it's but we have potential to see - hit it on

time hit the all-time high I don't think - is gonna be one of those crypto

currencies that is gonna be in the top five but I do think it can stay steadily

in the top 15 currently at - number 12 so when you know the balls to come which

we're gonna talk about in the technical analysis part I think there's some good

potential to see - do pretty well now the last one I want to talk about is

ripple because I know a lot of you guys are invested in ripple and a lot of you

guys really really like it we are at a resistance point in ripple right now and

roughly the 90 cent mark lot of you guys have been asking me why I didn't pass

through that there is a resistance in ripple at the 90 cent mark and that's a

resistance honestly that we've had in the whole market at this point which

we'll see when we do the Bitcoin technical analysis but Bitcoin side

resistance to ripples added resistance as well and if if if ripple can break

through that resistance I think it's gonna be an easy road to see a dollar

eight probably a dollar ten so something to keep an eye something to keep an eye

out if you do see Ripple break the resistance to maybe make a short-term

play right there now for those of you who are holding ripple for the long run

you guys know I don't personally have any ripple but I do acknowledge the

potential that do think it is gonna do fairly well in the coming years and it's

all my only issue with it is that thirty five billion dollar market cap it's

gonna take more for that to double then it would for let's say Wahby or one

chain two double which is why I like to buy more of those undervalued all coins

but I do think when when the Bulls arrive ripple is going to be fine it's

gonna have a nice breads gonna have some nice price action and it's definitely

possible for us to see the all-time high again up in the three points something

dodged but first I know everyone's focusing at the one dollar mark so guys

if it does break pass this resistance at the ninety set mark I think a dollar ten

a dollar Nate's a dollar five to be safe but it is a definite potential for a

short term short term trade now looking at technical analysis before we go ahead

and pick the random comment generator let's open up the chart and take a look

at where we are because things are looking pretty steady at the moment so

you guys know we had the huge run-up from one plumber from one support to the

resistance we had the run up there and now we are holding pretty strong and

holding pretty steady and we we both predicted you know we talked about in

previous video we talked about how we thought we were going to see some

sideways movement for a bit before before we had any decisive action in

which direction Bitcoin was going to go and now let's take a look at the chart

soom out a little bit come on so what slow what so what it's looking

like right now as you guys can tell we did end up yesterday in with a green

candle and today we have another green count now none of these look decisive

enough to make a point what could happen tomorrow is that we do have a red candle

that brings us back down to the 8800 mark however if tomorrow's candle is

more of a breakout candle and we do a head upwards maybe towards the $9,000

you guys know I'm expecting it to go pretty much within a few days straight

up to the eleven to twelve thousand dollar mark and that is going to be the

key that's going to be one of the biggest resistance levels which we're

gonna have to break before going to test all-time high so I don't want to stay

too much talking about technical analysis because not too much has

happened but I am excited this chart is looking

good than the pattern we're seeing is looking good right now and all we are

hoping for is that tomorrow we can have a breakout candle maybe even today it's

still relatively early but if we can have a breakout candle which would cause

a lot of people some insane crypto gains so guys make sure you're playing the

market correctly make sure you're playing you know you guys have your

portfolio set up you guys want a portfolio consultation color or a

portfolio review call with me I will link in the description tell you you

guys have signed up and I'm so thankful to all of you who did it congratulations

to all the profit you guys are already making but yeah if you guys now now

would be the time to look and set up your portfolio and the strategy the way

you want to obviously we can drop back down and that's why I'm saying create a

strategy for buying cryptocurrencies even when price jobs you can dollar cost

average them but I would not hold off on some cryptocurrencies that you're

looking for waiting to see a pullback because that is a risky move

next thing you know we're gonna be at twelve thousand dollars and you're gonna

missed out on the opportunity and I don't want to hear you guys miss out on

opportunities think about the long-term game even if you buy now it drops back

down to this resistance you dollar cost average is so your dollar cost and so

your your average is basically at the eight thousand four hundred dollar mark

and then we go up to twelve thousand that's still a crazy good reward for you

so keep that in mind now let's go ahead and pick the random comment generator

let's head on over to my channel if my computer works there we go and we're

gonna pick a random video to basically do a giveaway on now let's find which

video we want to do for the week you guys know I pick one from this previous

week let's take a look I think I'm gonna do the first one I talked about card

Donilon because you guys really really enjoyed that and so that's gonna be this

one the one with the N cash flood the one about card oh no there's so much

news in that one that I honestly think it was probably one of my favorite

videos to record and I know it helped a lot of you guys out because all you guys

hold those cryptocurrencies being cardinal and cash stuff like that I know

a lot of you guys do hold those so let's pick a random comment 113 unique

commenters you guys have been recently so many comments I try to

respond to all of them especially if it's within 24 hours of me posting you

probably will get a response to your comment after that it does get a little

bit harder but the winner looks like something about telegram token which I

don't want to pick so we're doing it again

we're doing it again and I want to comment about the video that comment was

not about the video they were just trying to promote something and I wasn't

a fan um now this guy's try to promote mining this is not going as planned my

guys this is not going as planned let's see

third time charm third time charm let's get to someone who deserves the

cryptocurrency who deserves the Bitcoin alright Patrick I have a question what

all coins do you think are better than bats or basic attention token or what

all coins do you think will give more gains

all right so Hawking I don't know if I said that correctly but congratulations

on winning leave a comment down below in this video to claim your prize otherwise

guys if they don't claim it in the land in the next 24 hours I'm going to pick a

new winner from this video so make sure you guys are leaving a comment on this

video but to answer the question what all coins do I think will give more

gains I think I think Bobby could give more gain I think basic attention token

is a little higher up in market cap and overall I do think it is pretty

interesting I think a lot of people don't talk about it and I think the the

new partnership is gonna do great things for it I think a coin like Bobby even

one chain if you look at the long run even the one chain has a higher market

cap I think wall chain could make some very

nice returns but basic attention token don't get me wrong is I personally think

especially with the new partnership it's gonna do very it's gonna return it's

gonna make some very nice gains for a lot of people and personally the ones I

was mentioning is just what I've invested in in the ones I'm bullish on

and or a more bullish on but obviously I could be wrong and basic attention token

could outperform all of them so it all comes down to research and which one you

like better but guys thank you so much for watching sorry this video is a

little bit longer than you guys are used to but hopefully you did stick to the

and you guys did enjoy the video don't forget to leave a comment down below if

you guys want to enter a chance to win some free Bitcoin and also share the

video around guys thank you so much for watching I'll see you guys tomorrow

for another video

Mohamed Elneny injury: Arsenal star stretchered off in tears – how long will he be out? ● #AFC - Duration: 2:05.

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny had to be stretchered off with a nasty looking ankle

injury in his side's game against West Ham on Sunday but the initial prognosis is that

the Egyptian hasn't suffered a serious problem.

Arsenal star Mohamed Elneny has given fans a major injury scare during the Gunners clash

with West Ham after being stretchered off at the Emirates.

Elneny crumpled to the floor after a challenge from Mark Noble, and caused a lengthy delay

as he received treatment.

The Egyptian star was visibly devastated by the incident which could have put his World

Cup participation under threat, but those fears appear to have been allayed.

Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves claimed that Arsenal medical staff have played down

suggestions of a serious problem and that he has sustained a rolled ankle.

He may be a doubt to face Atletico Madrid in the first leg of Arsenal's Europa League

tie, but knowing his season is still alive is good news for the Gunners.

Having been on the periphery of the Arsenal side earlier in the season, Elneny has become

increasingly involved in recent months and has filled in at times as a centre-back in

a three-man defence.

Arsenal already have several other fitness concerns ahead of the Atletico game, with

Mesut Ozil missing the clash with West Ham due to illness, while Jack Wilshere, Petr

Cech and Sead Kolasinac were also absent.

Elneny will certainly hope that he is fully fit to represent Egypt at the World Cup this

summer, with his country having reached the finals for the first time since 1990.

Welcome to Eggimation! | Introduction - Duration: 4:05.

Hello beautiful creations behind the screen, come a little closer!

Yes, it is I, Eggimation!

Well, you're probably wondering why am I talking when my mouths aren't even

Talking correctly with the same mouth expression. Well you see I try to make this video

Go a little faster, so the mouth can move faster, and it'll match but you know

Animating for beginners well it really flops

But you know it gets better as always so you might be wondering. Why did I get the name and?

How did I get the name Eggimation? Well I was just thinking about eggs and

You know just hit me eggs and I made in a webcomic

animation is

A part of web comics so you know what I did I broke them and split them into two. I

use a

nimation from the word animation, and I use egg and put them together you got

Eggimation! so let's just talk about how I got on YouTube well. We all know these

Popular webcomic(ers)

If that's how you can say it..

well

That's how I would say it and describe. It well one day I was watching

My sister on her laptop, and you know she was watching

She was watching the legendary domic! well if you don't know who's Domic

Domic, He's a webcomic creator, and he's really

Amazing, he's amazing at his job. I'm

Recommending him you should totally check him out him out!

How I got into web comics well,

It was on the first day when I watched this guy named GingerPale! well,

If you don't know who's GingerPale, you don't have life in you.

GingerPale is a Canadian and he is amazing at his job!

now

He's a green character with a blue hoodie!

I'm just gonna tell you, that if you search up GingerPale right now

You'd see a green fella wear blue hoodie, and that's him now

Let's talk about TheOdd1sOut, TheOdd1sOut is Great!

he told a lot of story times and made a lot of webcomics and

He's really popular. I look up to him like really you

can't even say he's worse at his job because

When I'm here on animating compared to the others animating like TheOdd1sOut

It's not. It's not you can't even compare it if you think of it like

I'm a beginner,

I Can't really animate. I don't know if you can call it animating..

but I'd like to call it animating because that's why I wanted to do and

Like TheOdd1sOut, Jaiden Animations, Domics Andd GingerPale!

Theese-

These webcomic(ers)

Amazing you can't say you can't tell me I'm wrong

Contrast: How to Use BUT, HOWEVER, EVEN THOUGH, and THOUGH - Duration: 4:13.

Big small hot cold black white tall short... contrast! In this lesson we're

gonna look at the differences between but, however, even though, and though.

Contrast.

Hi, I'm Nessa and this is ESL TOP TEN. To help us for this lesson, we are gonna use two

clauses. Here they go. I missed my bus this morning is the first clause. I got

to work on time is the second clause. Now we're going to be putting these two

clauses together using these different ways of showing contrast: but, however,

even though, and though. Let's start with but. First you need to ask yourself which

part of the sentence, which clause, is giving me the background information and

which part is showing the contrast, the unexpected or the surprised. But is used

with the contrast. So I could put these two clauses together in the same

sentence using but and it would look like this. I missed my bus this morning, but I

got to work on time. So but is a conjunction. It goes in the middle of the

two clauses, but it goes with the contrast.

How about however? Well, however normally begins the second sentence, but it also

goes with the contrast. And unlike but it is more formal. So your sentence would

look like this. I missed my bus this morning.

Full stop. Period. However, comma, I got to work on time. Phew.

Now how about even though and a synonym for it, although. So again ask yourself

which part of the sentence is giving me the background information. Although and

even though goes with the background information. So your sentence would look

like this. Even though I missed the bus this

morning, I got to work on time you. Or I could

replace even though with although. Although I missed the bus this morning, I

got to work on time. Pretty cool, right?

How about though? Well, though is the most common in spoken or informal English and

usually it goes at the very end of the second clause. So it goes like this.

I missed my bus this morning. Period. I got to work on time, though. Pretty

awesome. I can't believe it! So though usually again in informal

English, goes at the very end to show contrast. And in texts or very informal

written English sometimes it's spelt like this. But be careful. That's not

grammatically correct. I am going to give you two clauses right now and I want you

to write four sentences. The first one using but. The second one using however.

The third one even though, and your last one with though. And watch your

punctuation. Punctuation can really make a difference in your written English! So

here are the two clauses: It's raining out. I'm going to go for a jog. I encourage

you to post your sentences below so you can get a bit of feedback.

Don't forget your freebie for this lesson. In the freebie you are gonna see

more examples using these four ways to show contrast, plus some other common

phrases and words we use to show contrast, like while, whereas,

nevertheless, on the other hand. You can get your freebie by checking the links

below. Thank you so much for watching. If you found this helpful,

please subscribe. I would love to have you join our community of English

superstars. And I will see you next week right back

here on ESL TOP TEN.

DAY 3 - ÉVORA, CASTELO BRANCO: PEACOCKS, TEMPLARS AND PÃO DE RALA (Portugal #InsideOut) - Duration: 19:07.

WG: good morning, everyone, you'd be surprised to learn that it's already 8:30.

And not as early as previously. Well, I've decided to sleep in a little bit and today I'm actually without my

backpack so I hope I'll be able to do everything much faster. OFFSCREEN: and here is to the hope I don't get

lost yet again. WG: the history of the city of Évora counts several millennia,

which is - I can't say unusual for the

cities in Portugal. It's just, there's not many of them left. Évora, unlike other cities,

was very lucky to preserve whatever is left from the antic, Visigoth and Moorish times. In this

aspect they are remarkable, the citizens and the city itself. Speaking about

history, nobody knows why Évora is called Évora. One of the most popular

speculations on this topic suggests that Évora is,

actually, a Celtic word. There was a Celtic settlement here, and, as any settlement,

it had its name. And there used to be, as far as the legend says, lots of yew trees -

ebora, ebura, Eborakum - actually meant lots of yew trees or a settlement covered with your trees. That's one

legend says, so you can say that Évora is the local City of York.

Another legend says that Évora, it's either ivory or "oro" in Latin, gold, however, not many scientists will agree with you.

In 56 bc the settlement was seized by Romans, it's even mentioned in J.Caesar's annals, and that's

the time when the settlement turns into a town.

Lots of temples are built at the time, and if today I can

find this particular place, I'm gonna show you. It is called Diana's temple in

the name of the goddess, but actually it was built in the name of Emperor Octavian,

August, Augustus 😉, because during his life and after his death there was quite a cult of the Emperor.

Each time has its rock stars and fans. OFFSCREEN: but for now there will be more ruins, gardens and history.

It was all nice and dandy before Visigoths came because actually it's the time of this town's descent.

OFFSCREEN: if you're wondering where I am luring you into, you're gonna see it just

in a few secs, let me climb those stairs first, and down, and up, well...

WG: did you freakin see that?! oh gosh! those are ruins, actually, those are the ruins from

the times of Islamic invasion because you can see the characteristic mudejar rings.

Lots of gardens and tourist attractions around, and there is even a palace.

Don Manuelo's palace. OFFSCREEN: and now my most favorite thing has come - food time,

food time, food time. WG: so now I'm gonna have some traditional breakfast at the local cafeteria. There actually

serve what I was looking for - they serve pão de rala.

And I'm gonna taste it. It's a pudding of sorts, made of almonds and pumpkin.

And here are the almonds. OFFSCREEN: so if you want to go to the cafeteria, it's called Pastelaria Conventual

Pão de Rala, and pão de rala here is really amazing, especially with coffee. WG: actually, I saw

many children here, going to excursions. It's so cute. Where we left it - Visigoths. They're moved out by Moors

The town finally started to flourish again until in the 11-12 century it was reconquered in Reconquista by

Portugals, and that's where the real story begins of Évora as a Portuguese city.

The city always had great importance for every party involved in its ownership because it is a conjunction

point. Many commercial and, let's say, touristic ways were crossing there, so even at the time of Romans

it was a rich, big city. It began with the Romans and it continued through the time of Moors to the Portuguese.

The influence of church was big here, and, actually, it was the Catholic church,

the Jesuit Order, to be particular, which brought about higher education. The first University in Portugal

originated here, in Évora, until it was relocated to Coimbra by Marquis de Pombal.

If you go to Lisbon, you'll hear lots of

stories about Marquis. OFFSCREEN: what is a city without a Sé cathedral in it? WG: okay, that's

the Cathedral, one of the oldest churches in Évora, one of the most beautiful and the one located at the highest

point of the city. Excursions, cold, and it's beginning to rain. Guess who has no umbrella today?

OFFSCREEN: either way, whatever the weather, the views are nice. Doesn't matter whether it rains or not.

Seriously, though, I miss my umbrella. WG: if you get closer, you can see the columns. I'll try to show you.

Because I couldn't see the temple opened without all those coverings, I can't tell you whether I'm impressed

or not but through what I could see it really should have been a magnificent building.

Not an acropolis, no, but magnificent nonetheless.

As every self-respecting Cathodic city, Évora has lots of churches. And many arches.

That's called the Roman arch of Doña Isabel - why, is it Roman arch, and why is there even mentioned Doña

Isabel - I don't know and I don't care, it's simply beautiful.

I want to find an aqueduct. I'm gonna find it, I'm close to it.

OFFSCREEN: according to maps.me, here it is, sort of. And that's the main

square, I guess, I actually lived nearby. WG: I can't even hear myself because there are

lots of people, lots of children and lots of wind, lots of wind, too much. The fountain!

OFFSCREEN: alright, last destination point, here we go to you!

WG: behind me is the Igreja de São Francisco, and the well-known for you Capela dos Ossos is also here.

The second-biggest church after Sé Cathedral. What you should know about this church is that it was built

in 15th century replacing another one, built in 12-13cent. The church is unique because it unites both Gothic and

Arabic/moorish styles. Inside there is a mixture of both Gothic and Baroque styles. OFFSCREEN: yes, it was

completely amazing here in Évora: the food, and architecture, and streets, and

monuments, but it's time to take my backpack and go to the bus station and

move on to Castelo Branco because although the city is less popular with

tourists and smaller than Évora, it has its beauties and sightseeing points,

so let's go and see.WG:now we're here in Castelo Branco.Things you wanted to learn but were afraid to ask.

Unfortunately, not much is known about this city other than the fact that the

current Secretary General of the United Nations Organization was born here.

yeah, I'm speaking about Antonio Guterres. Established by Luso-Roman

population, it just existed as a settlement before the 12th century, when

the Templars were given those lands as a gift. The city basically belonged to the Templars, who built the castle,

which we would try to visit. They built the castle and the city walls, and churches and, as far as I know,

the convent. Sé cathedral, main cathedral. Very nice, beautiful, clean, clear, and that's not the city center, but

one of the squares. Basically, everything looks like that here: clean, nice, small. there are not many people

living here, about 30 thousand for the whole city. In Russia we have more in smaller towns😔

OFFSCREEN: is climbing a national kind of sport here in Portugal?! I swear,

I've never spent so much time going upstairs, and you can see how happy I am

with that fact, but it's all for good. WG: finally, closer to the destination point (not seen behind the trees).

The view is wonderful, although I would have preferred if it was a bit faster. OFFSCREEN: what I actually liked in

Castelo Branco is that there are small squares, sightseeing points, where you'd just go and take pictures

or spend some time with your friends, boyfriends. Stairs! WG: it is only for

those with strong legs and lots of stamina, meaning not me. But I have to go: promise is a promise.

Now that's the church adjacent to the castle. My main question: where is my castle? This tower is the only

thing left from the castle since the 16th cent., although the 1st big settlement and 1st walls and buildings

in this place were constructed at the beginning of the 13th century. Look, the whole city. It's cool!

It is actually commander's tower. Forepost, rectangular building, used to be several towers, 6/7, but

you see not much is left. This tower is more or less okay, and the next one, but only the upper part remains still.

See? Downstairs there's nothing beneath it. Here we go, that's Castelo Branco for you, guys.

You can tell me whatever you want, I'll be the first to admit that I'm a scaredy cat because look down -

Very-very-very-scary. So that's the main tourist attractions in Castelo Branco. I'm sorry I couldn't show

more, because, unfortunately, it's getting dark and it's a bit unsafe, even in

Portugal, so that's it for today. I'm gonna grab something to eat, I think.

Or maybe not, just go to sleep, because tomorrow I have a bus at 8 o'clock in the morning.

OFFSCREEN: so that's how my 3rd day in Portugal ends. Snacking a bit, some unhealthy foods

and stuff, but I really loved it. I loved Évora, with its streets and 24/7

supermarkets, and walls, and churches and peacocks, can't forget about peacocks,

they were absolutely amazing, yes. But at the same time I also liked Castelo Branco with its

Templars and castles, ruins, lots of pavements and, of course, in Portugal I love food most of all.

Pão de rala and coffee with sugar 😍 so I guess I'll see you next time somewhere else in Portugal.

Please, subscribe to my youtube channel, subscribe to my Instagram, and I'll see you soon, bye-bye!

25 Bookish Facts About Me [CC] - Duration: 15:51.

[cheerful piano music plays]

Hello everybody, it's Anna, and welcome back to my booktube channel once again!

Thank god for pre filming, is all I can say, because this past week, I have been

super sick with a springtime cold, and if I had not been able to pre film videos,

you wouldn't have gotten any from me at all last week. So again, apologies if my

voice is a little creaky and croaky [clears throat] I'm still kind of recovering from

that. But today I am going to be doing the 25 Bookish Facts About Me tag.

That was my dog's tail. Hi Lily, say hello to the people!

So the first bookish fact about me is that I have always been a reader.

I started reading when I was around three years old, I think. I don't really

remember learning *how* to read-- all I know is one day my mom realized that I wasn't

repeating the book back to her because I had memorized it, I was actually reading

it back to her, and yeah, the rest is history. The second fact is that the

first book I ever read was a Little Golden Book called "the new baby" about a

young boy named Mike who, you guessed it, is welcoming a new baby sibling into his

family. Number 3: my favorite genre right now is science fiction and fantasy.

Number four: I read really, really fast, and a lot. I mean I read a hundred plus

books a year. I tend to not like talk about the volume I read too too much on

booktube, because... I don't know, I think that especially with internet book

loving, there's kind of a problem with the need to be competitive and the need

to read a lot, whereas I am trying more and more to focus on the quality of

books that I read. That being said, I do read them really quickly, and since

reading is basically like my main hobby, pastime, or whatever I get through a lot

of books every year. Number five: I prefer paper copies of books to ebooks or

audiobooks. I do like ebooks and audiobooks. I think that they serve a

really important purpose, but my personal preference lies with paper copies.

Number six: my favorite classic book is "Jane Eyre," closely followed by number seven: my

favorite contemporary, which is "mr. penumbra's 24-hour bookstore."

Number eight: I only really got into reading YA in the last

year, year and a half, or so. That was mostly because of my friend Dahlia, who

actually introduced me to just how fun the genre can be. Prior to that, I had

read your typical things that are considered YA classics now, like

The Hunger Games, the Harry Potter series, the divergent series, but I was also

coming of age around the time that the Twilight series was really big, and I

had *no* interest in it. I thought a lot of YA was like that. Most of the YA that

I was reading at the time, that well-meaning librarians would put into

my hands, just didn't really jive with me very well. So it actually wasn't until I

was firmly an adult that I started reading YA, and mostly because that's

where the queer fluffy stuff is! I cannot for the life of me find it in adult

fiction books. And also I think it was just easier for me personally to read

about younger protagonists when I wasn't in the middle of things like high school

myself. YA became a lot easier to read about as an adult. Okay,

the genre I'm least familiar with is romance. I guess I should clarify: adult

romance is what I'm talking about. I guess I've read a couple of those.

I had a teacher that got me into some gothic romance when I was

maybe in middle school or something like that, because I was really into Gothic

literature, so she gave me some more modern interpretations of that genre, but

it's the one that I'm least familiar with, I've read the least of, and I know the

least abou:t so giant gap in my book knowledge. Number 10: a lot of my

reading is comic books, most of which don't even show up on Goodreads. I track

the graphic novel bind ups of comics that I read, but I don't track single

issues, mostly because to me, reading a single issue of a comic is like

reading a chapter of a book: you wouldn't track each chapter that you read

individually, but you would track the whole entire book when you finish it. So

eventually, once the single issue comics that I read get published as trades,

I'm gonna mark them as "read" as trades. But right now it's just too much to keep

track of! Maybe eventually I will do a video about the ongoing series that have

not been made into trades yet that I'm reading, so stay tuned for that one.

Okay, the hardest book I've ever read, which for me was the most difficult,

hardest to get through, difficult to parse, was "the castle" by Franz Kafka.

This one regularly makes the list of books that are the "hardest to read," or

"books that people like pretend that they've read to sound impressive but

nobody's really finished it." I finished it. I did have to read it for a class in

college-- it was my reading literature through science class-- and I remember

feeling so pissed off at the book when I got to the end because the book

literally just cuts off mid-sentence, with no resolution of the entire climax

that the book has been building to for the past almost 300 pages of book! And I

remember just yelling "what?!?" in the middle of my dorm room, really upset that the

book just cut off. I later realized that that was because Franz Kafka had kind of

left the draft alone, and he literally died before he could finish writing it.

Still not over that! Still not over that level of hurt. Okay, number 12: I actually

got into reading nonfiction in kind of a weird roundabout way. It was through

the PSAT. The PSAT is a standardized test that everybody takes

in their junior year of high school, which is 11th grade, in the United States.

And the PSAT is kind of like an indicator of what colleges you might be

able to get into, and I guess your level of like scholarships or funding for

going to those colleges. There's something called the National Merit

Scholarship, and the PSAT is the test that puts you in the running for that.

Just because I know some of you that watch my channel are not American, and

therefore wouldn't necessarily know what the PSAT is. I don't know if they have

that in other countries or not. So I remember taking the PSAT, and I did

really well on the reading section, and the only thing that they

recommended-- they basically give you recommendations of areas to focus on

based off of what you answered right and wrong on the test-- they were like, "this

was good, but you could really benefit from reading some more nonfiction" and me,

being the smartass 16 year old that I was, was like, "well fine, if you think that

my reading isn't good enough for you, I'm gonna read all this nonfiction

and prove you wrong!" and I actually got into reading nonfiction totally out of

spite because of a test that because I missed a question told me it would be

good for me to read nonfiction. So I guess that was a good thing because I

really ended up liking nonfiction a lot! I liked a lot of the books that I read

because of that, and so... thanks, I guess, past self for being kind of a butt?

Ok, number thirteen: I got into fanfiction-- both the reading and the writing of it--

because of the American Girl books, which are a series of historical fiction books

about American girls throughout history that get paired with these dolls that

have a ton of historical costumes. Tt's this whole thing; you can look it up if

you're not familiar with what that is. But I got into writing fanfiction

because of the Felicity books, which took place during the American Revolution era,

and from there my entire worldview busted open to the wide wonderful world

of fan fiction. And no, none of that is posted online where you can go find it,

so don't try! You will not find anything! I also got into fandom through Harry

Potter, like, fandom more broadly. Harry Potter is a series that I have a lot of

complicated feelings about, but I will say that one of the things that I think

it does best is bring people together in a shared community, and that was my

introduction to the entire concept of fandom, and becoming a

fan of something leading to friendships that I still have, you know, years later,

to this day. Okay ... so I may have mentioned this one in my bookish

pet peeves tag, if I did do that I don't know, probably it was the guilty reader [tag] or

something like that, but I can't stand it when my book covers don't match! Like if

I have gone through the trouble to actually purchase books in a series, I

want them to be either all paperback or all hardcover. None of this

higgledy-piggledy some are hardcover, some are paperback. And I want the covers

to all be the same style. The one exception that I have to this is my set

of The Chronicles of Narnia, which I was given by my grandfather when I was like

six or seven years old. He gave me the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe in hard

copy and the rest of the series in paperback, and no matter what happens, I'm

never replacing that hardcover with the paperback or vice versa because that was

a gift. And he wrote little messages in them for

me, and that's never getting replaced. But as someone that then as an adult has

gone out and like spent my own money on trying to build a library and

collect series that I enjoy, I cannot stand it when the book covers don't

match. Okay, rant over. Okay, number sixteen: my favorite living author is

Patrick Rothfuss. I got to meet him at Emerald City Comic Con this year, and I

was very proud of myself for not completely fangirling, but also I

felt a lot of regret afterwards because I didn't get to say a lot of

the things that I wanted to say, and I was just like, "oh, I really like your

writing! I could I could live inside it!" Okay,

number 17: authors that I wish that I could meet two of these would require a

feat of time-travel mixed with necromancy, because those top two are

Ursula K Le Guin and Jane Austen, who have both sadly passed away, RIP.

Although maybe if I did meet Jane Austen, I wouldn't want her to know it was me

because I would be afraid of her like satirizing

me with her caustic wit, and yeah... maybe I *would* like that, actually! Maybe it would

be kind of cool to get burned by Jane Austen, I don't really know.

And as for living authors, the top ones I would like to meet are Roxane Gay,

Nnedi Okorafor, NK Jemisin, and Tamora Pierce. Okay, this year I have discovered

a newfound love of memoir and short story collections, both of which were

genres that like I had read before. It wasn't like I was unfamiliar with them,

but yeah, I just really am on a kick of reading excellent memoirs and short

story collections this year and have come to appreciate them as art

forms in and of themselves within the greater fiction umbrella. Okay,

number 19: when I was in kindergarten, I stole a copy of the Diary of Anne Frank

from my school library because for some reason, I have no idea why, six-year-old

me really wanted to read the Diary of Anne Frank. And my school librarian was

like, "oh, you should probably wait a few years for that. let's go get you

something a little more suitable for your age." So after the class left the

library, I snuck back in and got the copy out of it, read the whole thing, did not

really understand a word of it, but yeah, I guess that'll show them to keep me

away from books that I want to read! [evil laughing] Okay, number 20: my favorite beverage to

go with a book is tea, although I will also accept a pint of beer or a glass of

wine. Number 21: I read books in the bathtub

all the time, but I have never-- knock on wood-- dropped one book in the bathtub.

Number 22: when I turned 18, all I wanted for my birthday was for my parents to

take me to Chamblin Book Mine. I'm gonna leave a link to that in the description.

I went, it's basically Narnia, and I will forever

be sad that I had to leave that behind when I moved away from my hometown.

Number 23: when I was in college, I threw a copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of

Fire across the room in frustration. I was reading it for a class, and I get

really annoyed by the way JK Rowling tries and

ultimately clumsily handles the discussions of race, segregation, and slavery that she

brings up, particularly with the house elves, but also through some other BS

that happens, and yeah, I just got really angry, and I threw the book. Only book

I've ever thrown to this date. Number 24: I love reading old poetry. This goes

anywhere from like the ancient classical poets all the way up through-- god, the

most contemporary poet that I really really like is from the 1950s.

That isn't me trying to be like all hipster or anything like that. I just

really like meter and verse, and that is conspicuously absent from a lot of

modern poetry, at least the modern poetry that I am aware of. We could go on a

whole tangent about how music and rap and things like that are really

the modern poetry and not what's being published in poetry books, but that's a

video topic for another time. And then the final reading fact about me

is that my reading languages are English, and then Spanish and Latin with a

dictionary. I don't know because a lot of booktube is very English-speaking-

centric, at least as far as I'm aware. I know a couple of booktubers that read

and vlog, I guess, in languages other than English, but because I'm not very

comfortable speaking any of those languages, there is kind of a disconnect,

I think, between languages and cultures and what types of things we get

to read in translation on booktube. So I think it's interesting to share if

you are a booktuber that reads books in languages other than English, please

leave a comment down below because I'd be really interested to know!

It can be anything. It can be like, I can read the Harry Potter books in this

language. You don't need to be reading the great works of classic

literature in that language proficiently; I'm just curious to see how many of

you are out there that read on booktube in languages other than

English. Also I don't know how many of you will be seeing this since on the

internet we kind of have to self-select for the languages that we understand

speaking, and you know, community translations can only go so far, so

anyway, that's about going to wrap up the 25 bookish facts about me tag. I hope

that you all really enjoyed watching this video! Please leave a comment down

below if you had any thoughts on bookish facts about me. Maybe you also have read

books in the bathtub, but have not been as lucky as I! Sorry! Yeah... right, I'm gonna

go now. Thank you all so much for watching, and I will see you in the next

one. Bye!
