Youtube daily report Nov 15 2018

Please be seated.

Good morning, Your Honor.

Good morning.

This is the case of Winters v. Cawley.

Thank you, Jerome. Good day, everyone.

ALL: Good day.

Ms. Winters, you say that you and Mr. Cawley

have been together for six years,

but now his paternity denial of your son, Amoni,

has put your relationship in jeopardy. Is that correct?

KRISTIN: Yes, Your Honor.

JUDGE LAKE: Mr. Cawley, you claim that throughout your relationship,

Ms. Winters has been unfaithful,

and say when today's results prove you are not Amoni's father,

the relationship is over, is that correct?

Yes, Your Honor.

So, Ms. Winters, you say your family is in jeopardy.

Yeah, lately...

Explain.

Lately, all we've been doing... We argue all the time.

We have a lot of insecurity issues.

A lot of insecurity?

KRISTIN: Yeah, because of, you know, the past.

It's just resentment from the issues from the past, though.

Well, what kind of issues from the past? Explain.

Betrayal. Me catching her in the bed with another guy.

JUDGE LAKE: Oh!

KRISTIN: We were kind of broken up

and having problems at the time,

and before that, I had caught him talking to another girl, so...

JUDGE LAKE: Wait a minute! Don't skip over that catching in the bed part.

(LAUGHTER)

Mr. Cawley, tell me what happened.

You said you caught her in the bed with somebody else?

Yes, Your Honor. Well, I was away,

and the moment I got home,

I was ready to just flop into bed.

I had been away for many...

And I turned the corner and I see both of them laying in the bed.

And the guy was asleep, and she was in there...

I was just dressed. We were dressed.

You had your clothes on, you said,

but you were in the bed with a guy.

KRISTIN: Yes.

He was a family friend.

He was spending the night there, and Michael was away.

We were having problems at the time.

And this was after I found out

he was talking to another female. So, at that point,

I didn't even want to be with him.

But that's...

Were you sleeping with this guy you were in the bed with?

I had prior to that, but I didn't that night.

JUDGE LAKE: Oh!

MICHAEL: You see what I'm saying, Your Honor?

So, now she's admitting to you she slept with this guy.

He only knows because I told him about it.

I believe the only reason she told me about that

is to cover up the other things that she did. Just the...

What are the other things she did?

MICHAEL: Just rumors of guys being at the house.

Her hanging out with other guys and stuff like that.

I admit, at the time, I was talking to other guys and stuff,

but like I said, at the time, couple months before that,

I had just found out he was with some girl.

I just can't prove he cheated and he won't be man enough to tell me he cheated.

So, I just kind of strung away from the relationship.

Because I didn't cheat!

So, wait a minute. You all have all this going on,

and Mr. Cawley, you're saying because of all of this,

you have doubt concerning Amoni's paternity.

Yes, Your Honor.

And that's why you petitioned this court for a lie detector test.

Am I correct?

MICHAEL: Yes, Your Honor.

JUDGE LAKE: So, this court has granted that request,

and we will have those results in just a moment.

Okay?

MICHAEL: Yes, Your Honor.

JUDGE LAKE: Moving forward, how'd you two originally meet?

KRISTIN: We had a mutual friend, and we were kind of friends.

We worked together.

And eventually, probably after a year later, we moved in together.

And that's when I think the main problem started happening.

'Cause we started getting more serious. We had more problems.

As soon as we got our first place,

that's exactly when we started going downhill.

Why?

Because...

There's too much responsibility for him.

There was no... I mean, there was no...

She said it was too much responsibility for you, Mr. Cawley.

I'm a young man, I have no kids,

helping her take care of her two kids.

Oh, so when you moved in together,

Ms. Winters had two other children?

MICHAEL: Two other children.

Prior to this relationship?

KRISTIN: But I had them when I met him, too. So...

JUDGE LAKE: And so, when you moved in with her,

you took on the responsibility of these two children?

MICHAEL: I sacrificed a lot.

JUDGE LAKE: Well, I mean, look...

He really didn't sacrifice anything. He just grew up.

'Cause when I met him, he was young,

still living with his mother at home.

And since he got with me...

But, like she said,

I was young...

...he had his first place, like, he's grown up a lot.

And he's just not used to it.

Like she said, I was young.

But everything seemed like it was unfolding, you know what I'm saying?

I was out of high school.

I was into college. I was chasing my dreams, taking care of my mum.

I was the man of the house, my mum's house, taking care of my sister.

And I got with her.

I saw being with her as a path to starting my own life.

But I simply were, kind of, still testing the waters a little bit.

But I was simply talking.

Why were you testing the waters talking to other women

when you were moved in with Ms. Winters?

I guess, being young, saw my future flash before my eyes a little bit.

Oh! The responsibility of raising two children

and being in this relationship made you start thinking...

Yes, Your Honor.

I was still there to take care of my responsibility,

but I probably shouldn't have...

The female friends that I had,

I probably shouldn't have been talking to them as much

with us having a place together.

But that still don't have nothing to do with her

taking it to the whole next level and actually cheating on me.

But the girl he was actually caught talking with,

when I found out he worked with her,

I was like, "Don't talk to her."

And then, next thing I know,

I'm finding out he's at her house, giving her rides.

So, you know, at that point, I was ready to break up with him.

And so, after this incident, you all decided to break up?

We did for maybe, like, a week or two.

But at some point, you come up pregnant.

KRISTIN: Yeah, we ended up getting back together

at the end of 2013, and we pretty much were like,

"Look, we're either going to stay together and quit all this,

"or we're just gonna break up."

So, we pretty much agreed to stay together...

We did make an agreement we weren't going to mess around

and do all of that no more.

And around the time that she said she was pregnant with Amoni,

her family member told me that she was at the house

with the guy that I asked her not to be.

Take me back to that moment. You find out you're pregnant.

I didn't even say nothing or tell him or nothing.

I kind of just bought a test, because I was late, you know.

And when it came back positive,

that's when I called him and I told him about it.

And to be honest, I was unhappy whenever I found out she was pregnant.

But then her family member's spouse told me later on that

she was at the house with this guy numerous times.

Oh! Oh, so you slept with this guy?

No, I didn't. And it was... It was a one-bedroom apartment.

My family member and, you know, his family, and then me and him.

So, it's not like we were in the middle

in the living room sleeping together.

So you're saying, it's your testimony

that you weren't at this house with this man multiple times

as your own family member alerted.

That doesn't, like, Michael told him, yeah.

JUDGE LAKE: This is a mess. You're just on a treadmill.

Running a race and never winning.

And this, coupled with all the other rumors,

you walking in the house, seeing her in the bed with somebody else,

all of these things

have fueled your doubt.

Yes, Your Honor.

And now your relationship is completely... It's on the line.

KRISTIN: Mmm-hmm.

MICHAEL: Yes, Your Honor.

We just don't trust each other.

And there's a beautiful 16-month-old baby in the middle of it.

KRISTIN: Mmm-hmm.

And you don't know for certain

if it's your biological child.

No, Your Honor, I don't know.

And you can't trust anything Ms. Winters says because you say

she's lied to you and betrayed you over and over again.

Is that correct?

MICHAEL: Yes, Your Honor.

But there's still that "I don't care" attitude, so...

She has an "I don't care" attitude?

Yes, still, to this day. And it just made me feel like,

it never left.

Even after we made that agreement.

You know, it's...

JUDGE LAKE: What's the agreement?

That we... At the beginning of 2014...

JUDGE LAKE: Okay.

...the agreement that we weren't gonna mess around

or do none of that crazy stuff no more.

It made me feel like it never left, 'cause it'd been,

probably, like, two years since then,

and she's still showing that "I don't care" attitude.

And I only act like that because he tries to, you know,

if some guy I went to school with

likes one of my Facebook posts, he's like, "Delete him."

If he's your friend, he's gonna like stuff,

but if he's, like, in every single thing in a row, then I'm like,

"Man, he's on your stuff too much."

KRISTIN: And I should delete them, you know.

JUDGE LAKE: So, there's no trust?

None at all.

Well, that's why you asked for a lie detector test.

KRISTIN: Right.

MICHAEL: Exactly.

And, you know, we have administered that test and we have the results.

Would you like to hear the results?

KRISTIN: Yes.

MICHAEL: Yes, Your Honor.

Jerome.

(APPLAUSE)

Ms, Winters, you met with a licensed polygraph examiner.

KRISTIN: Mmm-hmm. Yes, Your Honor.

And you were asked the following questions.

"On the day Michael found a man in your bed, did you have sex with him?"

You said, "No."

Yes, Your Honor.

The lie detector determined

you were being truthful.

Told you. (LAUGHS)

Ms. Winters, you were asked,

"Have you had sexual intercourse with anyone

"other than Michael since the end of 2013?"

You said, "No."

The lie detector determined

you were being deceptive.

(AUDIENCE GASPS)

(LAUGHTER)

Now that's not true. (NERVOUS CHUCKLE)

You were asked, "Are you currently hiding

"a sexual or romantic relationship with another man from Michael?"

You said, "No."

Yes, Your Honor.

JUDGE LAKE: The lie detector determined you were being

deceptive.

(AUDIENCE GASPS)

What?

(SCOFFS)

Mr. Cawley, how does it feel to hear those results?

Some of the stuff I had a gut feeling about that she was lying about.

But I was in denial, but I'm really not too surprised for real.

Ms. Winters, it said you were being deceptive on more than one occasion.

Is there something you'd like to say?

In the beginning of 2014, I did, you know...

It did prolong a little after than I said it did,

but that was the only thing that I can really think that I lied about. The whole...

JUDGE LAKE: Well, that's...

Lying about somebody now is a little different.

What's a little different?

Because, like I said, then, we were having problems. Now, we're not. So...

But point blank period, we made

an agreement at that point.

Yeah, well, you also cheated on me four months ago. So that agreement

kind of went out the window. So...

The bottom line is, after the "agreement,"

you were still sleeping with somebody else.

KRISTIN: Right. And I did it because I...

I know he was, too, because I saw him...

You know, he was writing girls on Facebook, trying to find new friends.

I mean, it just didn't feel real at the time, so...

All right, so you've admitted to that...

KRISTIN: Yeah.

...and that's what the lie detector indicator.

It also indicated that there's some romantic relationship you're hiding.

Honest to God truth,

since the beginning of 2014, especially since I got pregnant,

I haven't even conversated with a guy

that I shouldn't even have been talking to.

And so after you hear these results, Mr. Cawley,

does that further fuel your doubt?

I mean, at this point, you know she was found to be deceptive

on more than one occasion during the lie detector test.

I think my main thing is if Amoni is mine or not, because I wanna...

I don't wanna be there for a kid that's not mine.

But as far as her lying on the lie detector test,

I'm really not sure about this relationship.

So, you're saying just the lie detector result,

you're concerned that the relationship won't be able to last.

Yeah, because that was still before she was pregnant with Amoni.

KRISTIN: We should have broke up four months ago, then.

MICHAEL: That's true, we should have been broke up then.

Yeah, we should've probably been broke up.

Because you're saying, Ms. Winters,

"Well, then we should have broken up before he cheated again."

Right, because I feel like he did it because of what I did in the past.

So, he felt like I was going to get over it

and he felt like he had one on me, you know what I mean?

Maybe the only reason she forgave me

was because of all the stuff she did before that.

Oh, Lord, you all tit for tat!

WOMAN: Serious!

Goodness!

It's just the worst cycle. It just keeps going.

Right. That's why sometimes I tell him, like,

I feel we should have been broke up, like, we are too damaged,

but for some reason, I don't know if it's 'cause we love each other

or we just have so much history and it's been so long,

so we just stay together. (CHUCKLES)

I feel, at this point, I've sacrificed so much

and I've always had a hard time with quitting anything.

And that's a lot of the reason why I stayed.

'Cause like I said, it's been six years now.

So, in that six years of my life, I could've been...

I probably would've been already doing what I love to do by now.

Well, listen, when you invest so much time in a person,

you just feel like, "My pay-off is happiness.

"I'm going to get to it by hook or by crook, and I'm gonna stay.

"I don't care what happens, because I want that.

"I've invested a lot of time."

That's why I came here, to prove to him that Amoni is his son,

so that we can get past all this, and we gotta, you know...

And that's another reason why I'm still attached to this,

because of the kids.

It's because of the other kids.

Because their fathers aren't really around at all.

And I'm more of a father to them than they've ever known.

They look to you as one of their major father figures,

even if they know you're not their biological father.

KRISTIN: Right. When we break up or he leaves or something,

they'll ask me, "Where's Michael?"

JUDGE LAKE: So, Ms. Winters, I have to ask you this.

If Amoni is not Mr. Cawley's biological child,

you're worried that pretty much all three of your children

will be without a father.

I mean, that would be the case, but he is his son. So...

Mr. Cawley, are you that certain?

I'm hopeful, but I don't know. I'd be hurt but...

You just seem so defeated in this relationship.

Because I've been through so much just trying to keep it together.

I felt like... She said we should have been broke up.

But I also feel like I've been the main reason we still together to this day.

She's so quick to push me away and try to mess it up.

But I'm looking at the kids.

I even told her a lot of times, "You need to look at your kids."

JUDGE LAKE: Ms. Winters...

I mean... I'm a straight shooter, though.

You do seem kind of nonchalant, like, you can take it or leave it.

KRISTIN: I mean, I'm...

Maybe I don't show my emotion like I should,

but at the end of the day, I do think of my children, you know what I mean?

Whenever we go back and forth and we're arguing all the time,

that's not healthy for them either.

Like, I'd rather them have no father than be around me and him arguing all the time.

Look, we all grow in relationships.

Sometimes we grow together, sometimes we grow apart.

And I think that's what we have to determine here.

Whether you all are going to continue to try to grow together,

or if you're going to have to grow apart.

Right.

And most importantly, how we handle the child that could potentially be

in the middle of this, Amoni.

KRISTIN: Right.

I have the paternity results for you. Are you ready for them?

KRISTIN: Yes.

Yes.

JUDGE LAKE: Jerome.

JEROME: There you go. You're welcome.

JUDGE LAKE: Thank you.

These results were prepared by DNA Diagnostics and they read as follows.

In the case of Winters v. Cawley,

when it comes to 16-month-old Amoni Cawley,

it has been determined by this court...

Mr. Cawley,

you are the father.

So, that right there should prove to him I wasn't cheating,

you know, around the time. (CHUCKLES)

Well, it doesn't really prove that, Ms. Winters.

(LAUGHTER)

But it does prove that Amoni is his biological child,

and it relieves the doubt.

Right.

The arguing, the not knowing,

we have to get this together, what you guys are doing right now.

Now do you all want to try to work on this relationship

now that we have these results?

I want to try and give it a shot.

Do you want to give it a shot, Ms. Winters?

Yes, but all I know is that... You know what I mean, we've already talked about...

If anything happens again between either one of us,

then we're just gonna go our separate ways.

JUDGE LAKE: Well, look, this is why we have counseling here

for our families.

Because sometimes you wanna do something, but you really don't know how.

You all don't have the basics.

We need to work on the fundamentals. Respect, communication,

honesty, commitment.

KRISTIN: Trust.

Trust. Very good.

And we have counseling and resources for you,

and I want you to take advantage of that and start figuring that out.

There are three children in this family.

MICHAEL: Yes, Your Honor.

JUDGE LAKE: It's important that you fix this, you understand?

KRISTIN: Yes, Your Honor.

Yes, Your Honor.

I wish you all the very best of luck. Court is adjourned.

KRISTIN: Thank you.

Mother Didn't Know She Was Pregnant Until 5 Months In (Full Episode) | Paternity Court - Duration: 17:06.

Please be seated.

Hello, Your Honor.

Hello.

This is the case of Cooper v. Newby.

Thank you, Jerome. Good day, everyone.

AUDIENCE: Good day.

So this case is about

a 34-year-old paternity secret.

We hope we can bring some resolution today.

Mr. Cooper, your mother recently came clean that

the man you believe to be your dad

is not your biological father and the defendant is.

Ms. Cooper, you say you held the secret for too long.

And you felt your son deserved to know that Mr. Newby is his

father, is that correct?

Yes, Your Honor.

Mr. Newby, you were stunned by the news that you may be

the father to a child you had never met.

And you're in court today to defend your belief

that you are not his dad. Is that correct?

Yes, Your Honor.

Mr. Cooper, what happened

two months ago that started all of this?

I get a call about 3:00 in the morning, my mama called

and told me that, uh...

The person she told me was my daddy wasn't my father.

That this gentleman was, and to go online and to look him up.

And this is what you mother tells you?

Yes.

What are you thinking?

All kind of things.

She was like "Don't get mad or whatever."

A lot of things went through my mind.

I thought it was a joke actually.

Honestly, I thought she was playing.

Really?

Yeah.

That was so far outside of your realm of thinking.

Yeah.

And so, Ms. Cooper,

what made you make that call at 3:00 a.m.?

I mean this has been building up in me, Your Honor, for a while.

This is not the first time either

I tried to get in touch with Mr. Newby.

I just had no way to get in touch with Mr. Newby.

And it's just been weighing on my heart and my mind.

This was something I thought

my son deserved to know. (BREATHES SHAKILY)

So at 3:00 in the morning you just said "This is it."

Yes, Your Honor.

You kept this secret for 34 years?

Yes, Your Honor.

When you made the call,

did you think your son would be able to receive

the news or you just felt like you couldn't hold it anymore?

I really didn't know how Duntai was going to take it.

But it was something I had to get off of my chest.

I had to let him know.

Why keep a secret for 34 years?

I was very young. A teenager,

when this all happened. And...

Me and Mr. Newby, we were very good friends back then.

If I told my parents that Mr. Newby was Duntai's dad,

then I thought, being a kid,

that we won't be able to be friends anymore or

play together anymore.

It's like I didn't want to get Mr. Newby in trouble.

So I held that secret to myself.

Not telling anybody. Never.

So when you found out you were pregnant,

who did you tell?

That's another thing, Your Honor,

I didn't know I was pregnant.

I didn't know I was pregnant till I was five months pregnant.

I didn't know what pregnancy was.

And I had a teenage friend that was pregnant also at the time.

And she was kinda the one who told me

that she thought I might be pregnant, too.

Wow, you're so young that when you become

pregnant you don't even know.

Because you don't know any... You don't experience the

changes in your body, you don't even know what's going on.

And it was another friend of yours that was also a teen that says,

"I think you're pregnant too", and she was pregnant.

So who did you tell?

Well at the time I was pregnant, just her.

Just her?

Yes.

Did you tell her that you believed Mr. Newby

was the father of your child?

No, Your Honor.

How did your parents ever find out?

It was time to go back to school and

over the summer I gained weight.

My mom was buying school clothes she was like...

"That's not right." I've always been a small person.

And I'm going two sizes up and she was like...

"This is not right", and she asked me questions.

Was I messing with little boys and everything?

I told her no. But she figured out that I was pregnant too.

And so when she said, "Were you messing with little boys?"

You said, "No," it comes out...

What happens the day she finds out you're really pregnant?

In my eighth month she took me to the doctor and...

When I had my exam and he came back and told my mom,

"Yes, ma'am, she's pregnant

"and she's very, very pregnant."

And you didn't go to the doctor and your parents didn't

know until you were eight months pregnant.

Yes, Your Honor.

At that time,

I'm sure she asked you who the father was?

There was another childhood friend that

I went to a dance with and...

She just knew me and Mr. Newby to be just as friends but

this other guy I went to the dance with,

she just assumed that he was the father and

that's what, she said it and that's what it was.

She said it and you did not

contradict her or you never mentioned Mr. Newby?

No, Your Honor.

And that goes back to

you saying that you were afraid that if you

said Mr. Newby's name you all would be separated, you would

not be allowed to see him anymore.

And this other man,

the one that your mother basically said,

"This is the father",

this is the man that your son Duntai, Mr. Cooper,

believes is his biological father?

Yes.

Mr. Newby?

Yes, Your Honor.

Take me back to the day you found out

that you potentially could be Mr. Cooper, Duntai's father.

What happened that day?

I got a message on Messenger.

Because I was friends with her on Facebook.

And I got... My Messenger popped up

and looked on there and it said,

"You're not gonna believe

"that this is your child. We'll talk."

With a picture of Duntai on it.

And I said, "What!"

I text her back and she didn't say nothing and I said,

"You can't drop a bombshell on me like that and don't elaborate,"

and I waited until she finally responded.

Then I said "Does he know this?"

I said, "How could I be the father,

"I've never seen you pregnant?"

So you never knew she was pregnant?

I've never seen her pregnant.

So you never saw her pregnant?

No, Your Honor.

How is it she said when she

went back to school, she had gained two sizes, you weren't in school?

We didn't participate at the same school.

You didn't go to the same school?

No, we only see each other after school.

Summer times. We moved to, uh...

Fort Hood, Texas.

And that's the last... I'd never seen her until that message.

And so you had not seen her?

Heard anything about Duntai, Mr. Cooper?

Your whole life.

Not one word.

Until you get this message on Facebook?

Yes, ma'am.

Yes, Your Honor.

You submitted that message

to the court.

This message says,

"You know what I got to tell you some real life,

"this is your son."

That's the first time

I heard anything about this

in 34 years.

Wow.

What did you do at that point when you got the message?

I was just stunned so I kept asking her questions.

I asked her "Does he know about this?"

"How could I be the father? I've never seen you pregnant."

We always kiss, we always...

Messing with each other and all that kinda stuff back in the day.

My family member was involved.

There was another girl involved in all that kinda stuff.

So when I found out I thought "It could be him" also.

Wait, I want to understand this. So you're saying...

All of you all were young teens experimenting with sex?

Yes, Your Honor.

Unprotected, because at that time

we didn't have much talk about safe sex and

stuff like that.

So you're saying that there was also

sexual relationship between

Ms. Cooper and another family member of yours?

I don't recall that though, Your Honor. But okay if...

I don't remember that.

So, Mr. Newby,

you still feeling disbelief at this point.

You see pictures of Mr. Cooper,

are you now curious?

What do you do at this point? I mean, this is

news 34 years later.

I showed my family members

exactly that right there and asked them what did they think?

JUDGE LAKE: And what did they say?

Everybody said, "He looks like you."

(CHUCKLES)

It's interesting you all both have that toothpick

sticking outside of your mouth.

(LAUGHTER)

That's what I'm laughing at.

Well it's...

I say that because my father does that too with the toothpick

and it just goes down the line,

it's amazing but, you know.

A lot of men do that.

But when you look at that picture.

That's what makes you laugh the way you're holding that toothpick.

Yeah.

Mr. Cooper...

Did you have a relationship with the other man?

DUNTAI: No.

That you believed was your biological father

all these years?

No, Your Honor.

You didn't have a relationship with him?

No.

How did that affect you growing up?

I mean he played his part. I got off the porch a little early.

Know what I'm saying.

So when you say "You got of the porch a little early",

I think that means,

when you are a kid

you're supposed to stay on the porch, that's where

you're supposed to be safe, you're not out in the streets?

Meaning you got of the porch and you said you were

in the streets a little early?

Yeah.

Did you get in trouble as a kid?

Yes.

A whole bunch of it.

And, Ms. Cooper, when you watched your son

getting into this trouble, are you thinking in your mind

at that time if he would have known his father?

When Duntai got about 10 it was like

trouble with school and stuff.

And that's like the first time I want out.

If I could've found Mr. Newby I would have found him.

I thought maybe if I found him,

he might, could help Duntai out a little bit.

But Duntai always had my father to him,

my father is a good father.

My father and mother are still married, he's still in my life.

So you had your grandfather.

Yes he had a good role model.

But you still say there were moments when you'd look at your son

and you'd say "I wish I could find Mr. Newby."

And let's be clear.

Back then when Mr. Cooper was 10 years old,

there was no Facebook.

No.

So these ways that we can so readily find people now,

you had none of that. You didn't have cell phone

back then.

LISIA: And then sometimes I felt like it was okay.

We did it this long. We did it.

But he had my father. He had my brother.

But he didn't have me.

Yeah, I understand that too.

Yes, I understand that.

And I can see that this hurts you, sir.

Now it do.

LISIA: I feel like I stole something from you and Duntai.

That's why it weighed so heavy, I couldn't hold it any longer.

(EXHALES)

It's a lot to process, isn't it, Mr. Newby?

He'd never get to

know what a great man my father was.

It's kind of hitting me a little.

It's all right, I mean I think...

Was hitting me a little bit more because I think back

how my father raised me.

How he treated my grandkids.

And stuff like that, he missed out on.

All of that stuff... Now it's like hitting me.

I'm just thinking about how my dad

would have loved him and how he...

...would've loved my dad.

And now it's kind of hurting real bad.

While I think about it.

JUDGE LAKE: I understand.

Mr. Cooper, when you hear Mr. Newby talk about the

things he feels like you missed, what do you feel?

I really don't know how to feel about the situation, I mean...

I feel his pain, you know me being a father, you know what I'm saying?

I can relate to the situation

by me not having a father, so I really don't...

You know I had to deal with this for 34 years.

Something I want to know, you know.

For the sake of my kids, you know.

Starting from right now and move forward.

JUDGE LAKE: And so, Ms. Cooper...

(APPLAUSE)

I think we need to talk about the fact that at your age

when this happened. We were

growing up in a time where a young girl

in your position,

there was a lot of shame attached to that.

Yes, it was.

And back then it was about

shame and secrecy.

That's how most people handled it.

And so as a young girl,

we don't even know enough to know that you're pregnant.

When your mother says the story

that this little boy is the father

I do understand how a young girl

would not be strong enough to say,

"Well, no, Mommy.

"It's not, it's really someone else."

And I think we need to acknowledge that.

Because we can't look at this situation under

today's lens.

Once Mr. Newby said he moved away to a whole different state,

it's probably difficult to even find him if you wanted to.

Yes.

All right. Mr. Newby, you brought a witness

and I'd like to hear from her. Please stand, ma'am.

State your name for the court.

Lindsey Robinson.

Ms. Robinson, you are Mr. Newby's...

Oldest daughter.

Oldest daughter.

Yes, ma'am.

So do you think Mr. Cooper is

your father's son, is your brother?

Well, Your Honor, seriously I really don't know.

JUDGE LAKE: So when you see your father's pain,

how does that make you feel?

It hurts because we've been through so much

with our family.

And he missed out.

I mean if this happens to be

Mr. Newby's son there's a lot of things

we missed out on together,

as a family, but I guess we just have to take it

for what it is and hopefully we can

become a family and go on from this day.

Build relationships from this point forward,

that's all we can do.

And so...

If in fact Mr. Cooper is determined to be

your father's biological son, your brother,

is your family willing to accept him and

open to that?

Yes, ma'am.

All my kids, everybody.

How's it feel to hear that, Mr. Cooper?

Good.

Good.

Well, the only way we're going to move forward

is to get the results and I have them for you.

These results were prepared by DNA Diagnostics and they read as follows.

In the case of Cooper v. Newby,

when it comes to 34-year-old

Duntai Cooper,

it has been determined by this court,

Mr. Newby,

you...

...are not the father.

(AUDIENCE GASPS)

(EXHALES)

Do you know who Mr. Cooper's father is?

Who is it?

What he was saying.

JUDGE LAKE: Which would explain

the family resemblance.

And I appreciate for the sake of your son you were just

being honest because the secrets we keep inside,

they affect us

just as much, if not more,

than the people we're trying to keep them from.

Mr. Cooper, at the end of the day

your mother did this for you. It's about you.

It's about you just having the answers that you need.

Would you like this court to help you find

this other family member and have the test so you can

potentially just get the answers you need?

I mean, at the end of the day, it's up to my mother, know what I'm saying?

Would you like us to help you do that, Ms. Cooper?

Me and Duntai are going to discuss this.

Okay. If you need us you let us know.

I wish you all the very best of luck. Court is adjourned.

How did the MUSIC INDUSTRY survived to INTERNET? - VisualPolitik EN - Duration: 12:39.

I'm gonna start with a question: When is the last time you bought a music CD like this

one?

For the millennials watching this video, a Compact Disk was a thing with songs recorded

on it.

Yes, before the Internet era, if you wanted to listen to music, you had to buy it!

There was a thing called a 'Record shop' and a CD like this one, or a cassette tape

could cost up to 30 dollars!

I know, I know, it sounds pretty weird.

In less than 20 years, record sales have almost disappeared.

In the year 2000, more than 900 million CDs were sold… just in America!

18 years later, this number has dropped to just 90 million.

That's less than a tenth of what it used to be.

The reason, of course, is internet downloads.

Platforms like NAPSTER, EMULE and TORRENT have completely changed the industry.

And of course, you might think that, in this situation, record labels must be going bankrupt,

right?

Well, the opposite is true.

Just check this out.

Universal Music Group turned over an average of $17.5m per day in 2017 – as the company's

annual sales hit record highs by topping $6bn.

And this is just an example!

Other companies like SONY MUSIC or WARNER are in the same situation: record profits.

And… in case you were wondering, the answer is NO: streaming platforms such as PANDORA,

DEEZER and SPOTIFY are not enough to explain this phenomenon.

For example, TAYLOR SWIFT is one of the World's most famous artists and she makes hardly 400,000

dollars a year from her Spotify listens.

It might look like a lot but, believe me, this is pennies if we compare it with the

mega money Michael Jackson made in sales from Thriller.

So why are record labels making so much money?

How can they even survive all of the illegal internet downloads and file sharing platforms

like NAPSTER and EMULE?

Today we will answer these questions but, before we do, let's take a look back at

history.

CREATIVE DESTRUCTION

In the year 1935, the Union of American Musicians published this statement.

"Records are multiplied and duplicated by the thousands and then sold to and used in

places where otherwise musicians would be employed."

According to this union, more than 8000 professional musicians had lost their jobs because of the

so-called JUKEBOXES.

A jukebox was a big record player that was placed in bars and restaurants.

You could insert a coin and choose a song you wanted played.

By the year 1935, more than 135 000 machines like this one were sold throughout the states.

But at the same time that those 8000 traditional musicians were taken out of business, Benny

Goodman was signing a million dollar contract with a label called RCA-VICTOR.

The business model of the music industry had already changed… forever.

Prior to this, musicians lived off of the money they made from concerts.

In fact, the first music records were used as advertising for the live performances.

But now, 90% of their income was coming from record sales.

This process is what we call…

But this was more than an economic shift.

The way we listen to music changed forever as well.

All of a sudden, some local music genres started being enjoyed nation wide.

For example, jazz music was a typical genre in New Orleans but it ended up expanding all

across America.

And not only that!

This also changed the way we understand music.

Think about it.

Before we could record music, musicians could only do live performances.

Their maximum audience was… hundreds of people.

Suddenly, radios and records allowed them to reach millions of people.

And this meant way more money.

This is how a new genre was created.

A music style made by and for radio: ROCK AND ROLL.

A style that originated in America and ended up expanding to all parts of the West: from

L.A. to Berlin.

Rockstars were not simple artists anymore but small engines inside of a complex machinery.

The record label paid for marketing campaigns, organized massive concerts and even negotiated

advertising deals for them.

Meanwhile, the rockstar gave the whole industry a young, fresh face.

This is why, while artists like Elvis and the Beatles became millionaires, the big companies

became bigger and bigger.

Since their music was not just listened to all across the developed world, a record like

Michael Jackson's Thriller could sell more than 66 million copies in a brand new market

that stretched from L.A. to Tokyo.

By the year 1999, the music industry reached its ceiling.

More than 1200 million records sold.

The music business was bigger than the GDP of a country like the Dominican Republic.

And… what happens when an industry generates so much money?

Well… the big guys start eating the small ones.

For a better understanding, in that moment, 78% of the industry was concentrated in just

5 big multinationals.

And then… when the music industry was the ultimate money making machine… something

surprising happened.

Do you remember that thing I said about creative destruction?

Well… if there's one good example of a positive destructor, it's NAPSTER.

NAPSTER was the first software that allowed users to download songs in MP3 format in a

fast, free and, of course, illegal way.

From one day to the next, those records that cost 30 USD could be found for free online.

And, as you can see on the chart, this was the beginning of the end.

Even though Napster lost a case in the courts, it was already too late.

The music business had already changed forever.

At the end of the day… why would you buy something if you can get It for free?

But…

OK, wait a minute, just look at the chart again.

If you pay attention, you will see that, despite a dramatic decline in record sales… the

profit for companies like Universal Music Group haven't changed that much.

Why?

We'll explain right now!

SIZE MATTERS

Do you remember those 8000 musicians that lost their jobs in 1935?

Well in the year 2000, something similar happened.

Universal Music Group fired 4000 people practically overnight.

This was 34% of their staff.

At this point, record sales were almost 90% of their income.

And those sales were falling by 20% year after year.

And this moment is when the executives of the big record labels started playing the

same old tune we've been talking about once again… yes, I'm talking about…

CREATIVE DESTRUCTION!!!!

If they wanted to survive, they had to make a 180 degree shift to the company.

They had to stop being a record label and start becoming a MUSIC label.

OK, OK… but what does this mean?

Well, let's take the example of Universal Music Group.

The first step for creative destruction is, of course, destruction.

In the first decade of the 21st century, Universal got rid of everything that was not making

money.

What was that?

That would be the record manufacturing factories.

They sold most of them as soon as possible.

What's the next step of creative destruction?

Of course, the creativity.

With all the money they got from selling the factories, Universal bought all the music

labels they possibly could.

The main goal was to expand their music catalogue as much as possible.

Which explains news like this.

Universal Music Group Purchases EMI Music Label group will acquire catalogs of the Beatles,

Pink Floyd, Radiohead and more

So what happens after a creative destruction process like this one?

Well… tastes and music genres change again.

For example, we have K-POP, with songs like GANGNAM STYLE.

This was a popular genre in South Korea that ended up expanding to the rest of the world.

Yes, my dear viewers, in the 30s, the music industry was limited to the United States.

Then, in the 80s, it had expanded throughout the West.

Now, in the 2000s, music is a 100% global industry.

And companies like Universal have bought labels in any market you can imagine.

Universal Music signs Tencent deal for China expansion

Universal Music Group to relaunch EMI Records in India

Universal buys majority stake in Kenyan label AI records

And now you might wonder…

OK, but no matter how many labels you buy, if people don't buy music anymore, your

income will fall inevitably, right?

Well… yes, you are right.

In fact, the music industry today is nothing but a shadow of what it used to be.

So what is the difference then?

Well… now, despite the cake being smaller, there are way less people eating.

As you can see on the chart, 72% of the industry is covered by 3 big multinationals: Universal,

Sony Music and Warner.

And yes, now is when we can start talking about Spotify.

As we said before, Spotify gives very little money to the artists.

1 million listens only means about 7000 dollars.

But when you have the rights of 25% of the music produced in the world, even if you make

0.006 dollars per listen, you still become a millionaire.

Today, record sales have gone from being 90% of the industry's profit to just 25%.

And streaming music represents 6 out of 10 dollars entering the music industry.

Of course, this is great news for the multinational corporations, which make more and more money.

But, as you can imagine, this is not so good news for the musicians.

It's harder and harder to make money with music and this is why you need to be extremely

popular to make any money out of this.

On the other hand, those 3 big labels aren't willing to risk what they have by experimenting

with new formulas.

But wait just a minute because this isn't so bad!

If you've been following the news of the music industry lately you will see that there

is still some room for a spoonful of…

CREATIVE DESTRUCTION!!!

Spotify Now Lets Artists Bypass Labels and Upload Their Own Music

Yes, my dear viewers.

If you have a band, now you can upload your songs to Spotify and get your royalties without

a middle man.

And, of course, if you make good music and you want some free advertising, you can send

us your demos at info@visualpolitik.net so we can play it in the background of some of

our videos… of course, remember to add a link to your youtube channel.

Meanwhile, the big question now is… will we witness the advent of a new creative destruction

process in the music industry?

The Last Jedi Plot Hole That Fans Say Broke Star Wars Forever - Duration: 3:27.

In the same way that Kylo Ren's ultra-high-waisted pants will never catch on as the next hot

fashion trend, it's an undeniable fact that not everyone loved Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

When the film launched in theaters in December 2017, audiences were more divided than Darth

Maul.

Now, as we're nearing the one-year anniversary of the Rian Johnson-directed flick, an old

complaint about The Last Jedi has resurfaced.

But it's not just any old gripe - it's one that regards a plot hole that one YouTuber

claims, quote, "broke Star Wars forever."

The scene in question is the one in which Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo does something no

character has ever even attempted to do in the history of Star Wars: she kicks General

Leia Organa's ship into lightspeed and proceeds to drive it directly into Supreme Leader Snoke's

ship, the Mega-class Star Dreadnought that served as the First Order's mobile headquarters.

Holdo's move allowed the Rebel Alliance members aboard the Raddus a narrow window of time

to escape on the lifeboats before the First Order could track the Raddus through hyperspace.

Before this moment in The Last Jedi, fans had never seen a Star Wars character carry

out a kamikaze attack.

Once they did, well, it got the gears in their brains turning.

Some franchise loyals, like YouTuber Thor Skywalker, feel that the scene ripped a hole

in more than than the Supremacy - it opened up a plot hole in the entire Star Wars universe.

Thor Skywalker argues that if Holdo could damage the Supremacy by jumping to lightspeed

and crashing into it, the Rebels could have done the exact same thing to the Death Star

in A New Hope.

He further claims that the so-called "Holdo Maneuver" renders the Rebel Alliance's attack

on the Death Star somewhat ineffective, since they could have easily created a battle station

that could implement the same tactic Holdo used, one that also has, quote, "the ability

to send or launch massive objects into hyperspace at planets or whatever else it might want

to destroy."

In his argument, he stated:

"Why doesn't Holdo just put some droids on some transport ships and have them jumping

into hyperspace at the First Order fleet?

She apparently knew such an action would work so it doesn't make sense why she waited so

long to employ it.

You can then go back to any battle in Star Wars history and wonder why the Holdo Maneuver

wasn't used.

[...] [The Last Jedi] seems to be the most reckless in terms of what it lets into the

canon.

It pulled apart, or broke, the rest of Star Wars by introducing things that makes us question

everything that comes before it."

We can certainly see where these arguments are coming from.

In A New Hope, the Rebels probably could have done what Holdo did in The Last Jedi.

But would it have made the movie better?

Nope!

"Then man your ships, and may the force be with you."

"Yay!"

While Holdo's attack does signify a bit of a logic question in the Star Wars universe,

to call it a franchise-breaking plot hole is a little much.

To some fans, the "Holdo Maneuver" truly has put an irreversible dent in the series.

To others, it's not that big of a deal.

As far as director Rian Johnson is concerned, the moment was actually inspired by the original

trilogy.

He explained to the Empire Film Podcast:

"Ever since Han is talking about how if you don't get the calculations right you could

go through, you know, I've always wanted to see what that would look like."

Conflicting opinions about whether or not The Last Jedi broke Star Wars aside, writer-director

J.J. Abrams could still keep the franchise afloat with Episode IX, set for release on

December 20, 2019.

So what do you think?

Did the Holdo maneuver "break" Star Wars for you?

Mariah Carey Thanks the Lambily for Their #JusticeForGlitter Takeover | TRL - Duration: 3:01.

These people love you so much, they put the Glitter Soundtrack

back in the top 10 on iTunes after 17 years.

I can't believe it. What does that mean?

This is hashtag justice for glitter, right?

That was the last thing

I expected coming back to TRL today.

Right?

Thank you lambily. Seriously.

Lambily.

I mean, it's like, okay.

So I want to let you ask me questions

because I don't want to just drone on about nonsense.

Oh, no. It's okay.

I just want to hang out with the lambily.

No, but you're right.

I can't even believe this whole thing with glitter.

That's the testament to ...

Sometimes you're ahead of your time

and you don't know it till 17 years later.

Oh my gosh.

Let's talk about the lambily though because-

Yes, yes. I love my lambs.

I made a mistake and said family earlier

and they almost escorted me out the building.

So where did the lambs come from?

What did lambily come from?

Okay. So well, yes. But the truth is.

Okay, so Trey Lorenz has been singing with me

for years and years.

Well we met before my first album was ever released.

And he was in the studio. And I was working on this ...

It might have been Vision of Love.

I don't remember exactly what song it was.

And I heard somebody hitting the notes.

And I was like, "Who is that singing my song?"

Because nobody knew it yet.

And then I turn around and I met Trey

and then we just introduced ourselves

and we became real close ever since then.

So he's always ... He's like a trivia buff.

And he's always knowing the inside scoop

and different stories.

So there's a singer who is still living.

A very talented singer.

I'm not gonna go into too many more details.

But he's a great singer. And one of ...

Trey tells a story that one of this guy's backup singers

one day was joking with him because he's kind of a diva.

And was joking with him and said,

"Would you be a lamb and help me carry my bags up to the room?"

To the lead singer and he was just like, "Huh?"

And so from then on, we would just be like,

"Be a lamb and do such and such."

So when I started leaving voice messages for my fans

before we had social media

and could really talk to the fans like everybody

can talk to their fans today, we would just be like,

"Hey, lamb. How are you doing, lamb?"

And everybody picked up on it.

So my fans actually named themselves lambs.

I didn't start being like, "You're lambs."

Oh. So they did it.

So they did it. But it came ...

It's just like a term of endearment really.

But that's the story behind it.

So today I'm officially a lamb, okay?

Oh my gosh. Be a lamb, and ask some nice questions.

Okay, I'll be a lamb and ask some nice-

EASY JELLIED CHAI CRANBERRY SAUCE RECIPE! 🦃 NOREEN'S KITCHEN - Duration: 8:18.

Hi everyone, welcome back to the kitchen and today we're going to be making a Thanksgiving favorite

We're gonna be making jellied cranberry sauce this year and I put a little bit of a twist on it

We're gonna flavor this with some chai tea and we're gonna use that in place of the water

Along with some orange juice and a couple of other ingredients

Jelly, cranberry sauce is a real favorite and I get a lot of requests to show how to make it every single year I decided

To go ahead and show you how to make the jellied kind. So let's go see how this all comes together

We're going to make a jellied chai spiced cranberry sauce

So many of you whenever I make a whole berry cranberry sauce, you always ask

Is there a way I can make this a jellied cranberry sauce?

But this is gonna be a jellied version and we're gonna put it in mason jars and we're gonna put it in the refrigerator

This recipe is not suitable for canning. There are no safety tested recipes for this version of cranberry sauce

this is something I have come up with and I thought it would be fun to try and

What we're gonna start off with is 2 12 ounce packages of fresh cranberries 2 cups of sugar

1 cup of very strongly brewed chai tea I

use 2 cups of water and for chai tea bags and I

Steeped them for one hour and I drained them. I only used one cup of what I what I made

One cup of freshly squeezed orange juice and the zest of one orange

Alright, so I have my pan over high heat on my induction burner and you want to put yours over medium-high heat

So just put all of your ingredients in the pan. This is super super easy

The work will come later when we want to make this into a jellied version, but everything has to start off like this

so give this a good stir just get it all mixed up bring it to a simmer and then

Allow this to simmer until all the cranberries have burst and you can help that along

When this starts to get hot and the fruit starts to soften

You can go in you'll see any that haven't popped and you can just help press them up against the side of the pan

When that happens, I'll be back and won't move on

All right now cranberries have been simmering and I've been over here pressing you can see

Hmm, it steamed up a little

You can see that it is starting to thicken when your mixture looks like this

then you're gonna want to turn it down to medium and then you're gonna want to let this continue to simmer for

Five more minutes, but look if you see any berries in here that look like they haven't burst

You're gonna want to hit those up against the side of the pan

You really want to extract every bit of the pectin that the berries have to offer

Into this mixture because that's what's going to cause your cranberry sauce to jelly the way that you want

It cranberries are extremely high in pectin

You don't need any additional thickener and add it in here. Like, you know when you make jam like for strawberry jam or blueberry

Jam, or things like that. You have to add pectin so that it will set up

Cranberries have their own natural pectin and you don't need to add anything to it

All you want to do is from here on out you want to put this over a nice simmer for five minutes?

So that's going to further reduce and intensify the thickening and then after that's done

We'll be back and I'll show you what happens next

Oh and don't put a cover on our cranberry sauce has simmered

And it's all ready to go and we're gonna pop it in this fine

Mesh sieve we're gonna press it through. So what you want to do is you want to

strain this through until all that's left is the skins and the seeds and then whatever is

Deposited in the bowl is what we will put in a pint jar. So this is gonna take a while a wooden spoon works great

Most of the liquid has gone through now, so we're gonna just keep going and I'll be back when this is all done. I finished

Passing the cranberry mixture through a sieve I change SIVs

Just to make sure that I got the last little bits and this is all slept

This is really all seeds and skins and that's it. So we'll just be discarding that and what is left is

cranberry jelly

ready to just put in a

And that's what I'm gonna do. I have to pipe jars ready to go. They're just clean

We're not gonna can them. They've been through the dishwasher

I'm gonna pop a lid on them and I'm gonna stick them in the fridge

But I'll bring you back and I'll show you what they look like

and then we're gonna keep them in the refrigerator at least 24 hours after that has happened and the

Cranberry sauce has gelled I'll bring you back and I'll show you what it looks like

I went ahead and I jarred up our cranberry sauce

Now I'm gonna pop just a plastic lid on these and stick them in the refrigerator

This can be made 2 to 3 weeks in advance of Thanksgiving Christmas, whatever you can make

You can make it half a dozen jars now and keep them in your fridge. They'll last through the holiday season with absolutely

no problem, as long as you keep them in the refrigerator the way that I showed you how to

Strain it that is very very basic

If you don't have like a fully food mill

So a strainer almost everybody has now you don't want to use a colander. That won't work

That's what you drain your pasta in you definitely need to find mesh sieve like I showed you now

This is already starting to kind of settle down. It's still very warm

We're gonna want to put this in the refrigerator for up to three weeks

But at least 24 hours

You're gonna get what you you know that traditional you'll be able to pop it out and slice it and have really beautiful

Slices of cranberry jelly for your Thanksgiving dinner or your Christmas dinner another couple of things. I wanted to mention

Do not reduce the sugar in this recipe

it is very very important to the gelling process sugar activates pectin and

That's what causes the chemistry

Where it gels so you don't want to reduce the sugar

so when you look at the recipe and you see two cups of sugar, you're gonna want to make sure that

you use two full cups of sugar and

You can also make this without the chai tea you can just substitute water or apple juice. It's entirely up to you

We're just using chai tea to add a little seasoning

Some spice and a little bit of a different flavor to our jelly cranberry sauce, and that's it

So I'm gonna be back when this is gelled and we can slice it up and show you what it looks like

Well there you have it truth be told I should have waited until tomorrow

But this has been in the refrigerator for about four hours and it was solid enough to slice

But I probably should have waited till tomorrow. So when you make yours you make sure you wait until tomorrow

I really wanted to get this video done for you and up on the internet so that you could use it before

Thanksgiving came along this is how you make jelly cranberry sauce. I was able to slice it

It is a little bit soft, but it's still it's holding together really well and there you have it

It's nice and solid and it has a lovely flavor. You can taste the chai tea in it

It's very subtle, but you can get those spicy notes in the sauce

Rick is not a cranberry fan, so I'm not going to have him taste it if you liked today's video

Dogs Abandoned Because Of Their Skin Disease? | Kritter Klub - Duration: 3:47.

Dogs almost get run over

Looking for their owner..

Local: They run towards the front of the cars

Local: Everytime a car passes

Two abandoned dogs

Suffering from a skin disease

Local 2: Seems like the owner left them due to their skin disease

Local 1: The owner left them here

They come here just in case

I park here occasionally

So I started to give them food

Come here

They don't get too close

Only when they're left alone, they can eat

They live in a messy environment

Which only worsens their condition

And the rescue begins

Come here

Caught one

(Yelps in fear)

One escapes

All alone..

Finally..

Time to heal

Mites and fleas caused serious infections

(One of them has a leg injury)

There's a fracture in its femur

Possibly from a car accident

Judging from its teeth, they're about a year old

There's a high chance that they're siblings

(get their shots)

(Aww they're so clean now)

HTC Vive Philippines Unboxing - Duration: 3:31.

Hi this is Anton from Hardware Sugar and today we're going to unbox the HTC

Vive. This is just a simple unboxing we will do a complete review in our next video.

So the box is actually quite small considering that it hass a full VR

headset and it has the two touch sensors and it has the hub and there's a whole bunch of cables in here

and stuff like that but the box itself is quite small. It's a bit heavy but not

uncomfortably so. So let's open up the box and I'm laying it flat on the ground

because the headset is lying on its side. So first things first, the VR headset wtih the coils

to attach the USB hub and you'll notice that this headset even has its paper

protective film still on there. Looks in pretty good condition

I'm sure it works fine but we'll test it later. Aside from the VR headset are the HTC touch

sensors or the wands basically you're going to be flailing your arms around

using these things and they will track your movements in in VR. I mentioned this

in the review but I'll say it again - each one has grip button, a touch

button here and and the grip buttons so you've got two of these one for your left and

one for your right. You know that this is a second refresh of the HTC Vive because

of the blue lanyard color. The initial HTC vive had a white lanyard color.

So if you're looking for an HTC Vive make sure you get the blue colored lanyard.

And finally or sort of the last of the main items are these two lightbox

sensors, you're going to attach these things to your wall or you're going to

mount them on tripods and they will basically face each other and it can

sense what's happening in the gameplay area so it can accurately track your

movements. Aside from those items we do have bunch of other stuff here and

let me just get to the bottom of the box.

Basically you have the charging cables for the USB hub and the light boxes and

the sensors and things like that again quite well packaged or inside so that's

one box there and the rest of the power cables and these babies you use to mount

these things you couldn't drill into your wall and ER then you're going to

mount the light box here and then they're going

on your wall that's gonna be facing the game for the area. So again very compact

design from HTC it packs in quite a lot for what you get. I was super

excited when I got my own personal HTC Vive and I will talk about that

in the review. Thanks for watching.

SHORT STORIES - THE CAT - LEARNING ENGLISH - Duration: 16:12.

The snow was falling and the cat's fur was stiffly pointed with it but he was

imperturbable he sat crouched ready for the death spring as he had sat for hours

it was night but that made no difference all times were as one to the cat when he

was in wait for prey then too he was under no constraint of human will for he

was living alone but winter no where in the world was any voice calling him on

no hathe was there a waiting dish he was quite free except for his own desires

which tyrannize dover him when unsatisfied as now the cat was very

hungry almost famished in fact for days the

weather had been very bitter and all the feeble wild things which were his prey

by inheritance the born serfs to his family had kept for the most part in

their burrows and nests and the cats long hunt had availed him nothing but he

waited with the inconceivable patience and persistency of his race besides he

was certain the cat was a creature of absolute convictions and his faith in

his deduction is never waived the rabbits had gone in there between those

low hung Huynh bounds now her little doorway had before it a Shaggy curtain

of snow but in there she was the cat had seen her enter so like a swift grey

shadow that even his sharp and practiced eyes had glanced back for the substance

following and then she was gone so he sat down and waited and he waited still

in the white night listening angrily to the north wind starting in the upper

heights of the mountains with distant screams then swelling into an awful

crescendo of rage and swooping down with furious white wings of snow like a flock

of fierce Eagles into the valleys and ravines

the captain's on the side of a mountain on a wooded terrace above him a few feet

away towered the rock ascent as steep as the wall of a cathedral the cat had

never climbed it dreams were the ladders to his heights of life he had often

looked with Wonder at the rock and my old battalion resentfully as man does in

the face of a fitting Providence and his left was the sheer precipice behind him

with a short stretch of woody growth between was the frozen perpendicular

wall of a mountain stream before him was the way to his home when the rabbit came

out she was trapped her little cloven feet could not scale such unbroken

steeps so the cat waited the place in which he was looked like a maelstrom of

the wood the tangle of trees and bushes clinging to the mountainside with a

stern clutch of roots the prostrate trunks and branches the vines embracing

everything with strong knots and coils of growth had a curious effect as of

things which had world for ages in a current of raging water only it was not

water but wind which had disposed everything encircling lines of yielding

to its fiercest points of onset and now over all this whirl of wood and rock and

dead trunks and branches and vines descended the snow it blew down like

smoke over the rock rest above it stood in a gyrating column like some death

Wraith of nature or on the level then it broke over the edge of the precipice and

the cat cowered before the fierce backward set of it It was as if ice

needles pricked his skin through his beautiful thick fur but he never

faltered and never once tried he had nothing to gain from crying and

everything to lose the rabbits would hear him try and know he was waiting it

grew darker and darker with a strange white smother instead of the natural

blackness of night it was a night of storm and death super added to the night

of the mountains were all hidden wrapped

about overwrought and tumultuously overborne by it but in the midst of it

waited quite unconquered this little unswerving living patience and power

under a little coat of gray fur a fiercer blast swept over the rock spun

on one mighty footed whirlwind of thought the level then was over the

precipice then the cat saw two eyes luminous with terror frantic with the

impulse of flight he saw a little quivering dilating nose he saw two

pointing ears and he kept still with every one of his fine herbs and muscles

strained like wires then the rabbit was out there was one long line of incarnate

flight and terror and the cat had higher then the cat went home trailing his prey

through the snow the cat lived in the house which his master had built as

rudely as a child's block house but staunchly enough the snow was heavy on

the low slant of its roof but it would not settle under it the two windows and

the door were made fast but the cat knew away in up a pine tree behind the house

he scuttled though it was hard work with his heavy rabbit and was in his little

window under the eaves then down through the trap to the room below and on his

master's bed with a spring and a great cry of triumph rabbit and all but his

master was not there he had been God since early fall and it was now February

he would not return until spring for he was an old man and the cruel cold of the

mountains clutched at his vitals like a panther and he had gone to the village

to winter the cat had known for a long time that his master was gone but his

reasoning was always sequential in circuitous always for him what had been

would be and the more easily for his marvellous waiting powers so he always

came home expecting to find his master when he saw that he was still gone he

dragged the rabbit off the ruled couch which was the bed to the floor put one

little paw on the carcass to keep it steady and began gnawing with head to

one side to bring his strongest teeth to bear it was dark her in the house than

it had been in the wood and the cold was as deadly though not so fierce

if the cat had not received his fur coat unquestioningly of Providence he would

have been thankful that he had it it was a mottled gray white on the face and

breast and thickest fur could grow the wind drove the snow on the windows with

such force that had rattled like sleet and the house trembled a little then all

at once the cat heard a noise and stopped knowing his rabbits and listened

his shining green eyes fixed upon a window then he heard a hoarse shout a

hollow of despair and entreaty but he knew it was not his master come home and

he waited one poor still on the rabbit then the hollow came again and then the

cat answered he said all that was essential quite plainly to his own

comprehension there was in his cry of response inquiry information warning

terror and finally the offer of comradeship but the man outside did not

hear him because of the howling of the storm then there was a great battering

pound at the door then another and another the cat dragged his rabbit under

the bed the Blues came thicker and faster it was a weak arm which gave them

but it was nerved by desperation finally the lock yielded and the strange you

came in then the cat peering from under the bed blinked with

a sudden light and his green eyes narrowed the strangest structure match

and looked about the cat saw a face wild and blue with hunger and

and a man who looked poorer and older than his poor old master who was an

outcast among men for his poverty and lowly mystery of antecedents and he

heard a muttered unintelligible voicing of distress from the harsh piteous mouth

there was in it both profanity and prayer but the cat knew nothing of that

the stranger raised the door which he had forced got some wood from the stock

in the corner and Kimball de firing the old stove as quickly as his half frozen

hands would allow he shook so pitiably as he worked that the cat under the bed

felt the tremor of it then the man who was small and feeble and marked with the

scars of suffering which he had pulled down upon his own head sat down in one

of the old chairs and crouched over the fire as if it were the one love and

desire of his soul holding out his yellow hands like yellow claws and he

groaned the cat came out from under the bed and left up on his lap with the

rabbit the man gave a great shout and start of terror and sprang and the cat

slid clawing to the floor and the rabbit fell inertly and the man leaned gasping

with fright and ghastly against the wall the cat grabbed the rabbit by the slack

of its neck and dragged it to the man's feet then he raised his shrill insistent

cry he arched his back high his tail was a splendid waving plume he rubbed

against the man's feet which were bursting out of their torn shoes the man

pushed the cat away gently enough and began searching about the little cabin

he even climbed painfully the ladder to the loft lit a match and peered up in

the darkness with straining eyes he feared lest there might be a man since

there was a cat his experience with men had not been pleasant and neither had

the experience of men been Pleasant with him he was an old wandering Ishmael

among his kind he had stumbled upon the house of a brother and

the brother was not at home and he was glad he returned to the cat and stooped

stiffly and stroked his back which the animal arched like the spring of a boat

then he took up the rabbit and looked at it eagerly by the firelight his jaws

worked he could almost have devoured a drawer he fumbled the cat closer at his

heels around some rude shelves and a table and found with a grunt of self

gradual ation a lamp with oil in it that he lighted then he found a frying pan

and a knife and skinned the rabbit and prepared it for cooking the cat always

at his feet when the odour of the cooking flesh filled the cabin both a

man and the cat looked wolffish the man turned the rabbits with one hand

and stooped to Pat the cat with the other the cat thought him a fine man he

loved him with all his heart though he had known him such a short time and

though the man had a face both pitiful and sharply set at variance with the

best of things it was a face with the grimy grizzle of

age upon it with fever hollows in the cheeks and the memories of wrong in the

dim eyes but the cat accepted the man unquestioningly and loved him when the

rabbit was half cooked neither the man nor the cat could wait any longer the

man took it from the fire divided it exactly in halves gave the cat one and

took the other himself then they ate then the man blew out the light called

the cat to him got on the bed drew out the ragged coverings and fell asleep

with the cat in his bosom the man was the cat's guest all the rest of the

winter and winter is long in the mountains the

rightful owner of the little Hut did not return until May all that time the cat

toiled hard and he grew rather thin himself for he shared everything except

mice with his guests and sometimes game was weary and the fruit of patience of

days was very little for two the man was ill and weak however and unable to eat

much which was fortunate since he could not hunt for himself all day long he lay

on the bed or else sat crouched over the fire it was a good thing that firewood

was ready at hand for the pig not a stone's throw from the door for

that he had to attend to himself the cat foraged tirelessly sometimes he was gone

for days together and at first the man used to be terrified thinking he would

never return then he would hear the familiar cry at the door and stumble to

his feet and let him in then the two would die together sharing equally then

the cattle dressed and / and finally sleep in the man's arms towards spring

the game grew plentiful more wild little quarry were tempted out of their homes

in search of love as well as food one day the cat had luck a rabbit a

partridge and a mouse he could not carry them all at once but finally he had them

together at the house door then he cried but no one answered all the mountain

streams were loosened and the air was full of the gurgle of many waters

occasionally pierced by a bird whistle the trees rustled with a new sound to

the spring wind there was a flush of rose and gold green on the breasting

surface of a distant Mountain seemed through an opening in the wood the tips

of the bushes were swollen and glistening red and now and then there

was a flower but the cat had nothing to do with flowers he stood beside his

booty at the house door and cried and cried with his insistent triumph and

complained and bleeding but no one came to let him in then a cat left his little

treasures at the door and went around to the back of the house to the pine tree

and was up the trunk with a wild scramble and in through his little

window and down through the trap to the room

and the man was gone the cat cried again the cry of the animal for human

companionship which is one of the sad notes of the world he looked in all the

corners he sprang to the chair at the window and looked out but no one came

the man was gone and he never came again the cat ate his mouse out on the turf

beside the house the rabbit and the Partridge he carried painfully into the

house but the man did not come to share them finally in the course of a day or

two he ate them up himself then he slept a long time on the bed and when he waked

the man was not there then the cat went forth to his hunting grounds again and

came home at night with a plump bird reasoning with his tireless persistency

in expectancy that the man would be there and there was a light in the

window and when he cried his old master opened the door and let him in his

master had strong comradeship with the cat but not affection he never patted

him like that gentle or outcast but he had a pride in him and an anxiety for

his welfare though he had left him alone all winter without scruple he feared

lest some misfortune might have come to the cat though he was so large of his

kind and a mighty hunter therefore when he saw him at the door in all the glory

of his glassy winter coat his white breast and face shining like snow in the

Sun his own face lit up with welcome and the cat embraced his feet with his

sinuous body vibrant with rejoicing purse the cat had his bird to himself

for his master had his own supper already cooking on the stove after

supper the cat's master took his pipe and sought a small store of tobacco

which he had left in this hot over winter he had thought often of it that

under cat seemed something to come home to in the spring but the tobacco was

not a dust left the man swore a little in a grimm monitor which made the

profanity lose its customary effect he had been and was a hard drinker he had

knocked about the world until the marks of its sharp corners were on his very

soul which was thereby calloused until his very sensibility to loss was

dumped he was a very old man he searched for the tobacco with a sort of dial

combativeness of persistency then he stared with stupid wander around the

room suddenly many features struck him as being changed another stove lit was

broken an old piece of carpet was tacked up over a window to keep out the cold

his firewood was gone he looked and there was no oil left in his cap he

looked at the coverings on his bed he took them up and again he made that

strange remonster and noise in his throat then he looked again for his

tobacco finally he gave it up he sat down beside the fire

fourme in the mountains his coat he held his empty pipe in his mouth his rough

forehead knitted and he and the cat looked at each other across that

impassable barrier of silence which has been set between man and beast from the

creation of the world

First Responder Was Killed in Mass Shooting at Same Restaurant Where He Proposed to His Wife - 247 n - Duration: 3:49.

Ron Helus and his then-girlfriend, Karen, were dining at a restaurant in Thousand Oaks, California, when she stepped away to go to the bathroom

She was surprised when she found a blue box with an engagement ring tucked inside her purse

When she returned and showed it to Helus, he dropped to one knee and proposed

Last week, more than 30 years later, he returned to the same restaurant to try and stop an active shooting

Helus, a 54-year-old sergeant with theVentura County Sheriff's Office, was shot and killed along with 11 other people at the Borderline Bar & Grill on Nov

7. Authorities said he was shot multiple times as he entered the bar and later died at the hospital

He leaves behind his wife and their son, Jordan.  "He went into save lives, to save other people," Sheriff Geoff Dean told reporters at the time

"He was totally committed, he gave his all, and tonight, as I told his wife, he died a hero

"  On Thursday, hundreds of people packed the Calvary Community Church for Helus' funeral, paying tribute to a man they frequently called a hero

"Thank you for sharing the last 31 years of your life with me," his wife said in a statement read aloud at the funeral

"Thank you for being you — my hero, my love and my life."  Musician Billy Ray Cyrus was also in attendance, performing "Amazing Grace" and original song "Some Gave All

"  "Today, we're here to honor Ron Helus," he said. "This man is a true definition of a hero

"  Helus was one of the first on the scene of the mass shooting. He had been on the phone with his wife before responding to the call, according to the sheriff

"I love you, I'll talk to you later," he told her.  His bravery that night was something he had trained for throughout his career, according to Thousand Oaks Police Chief Tim Hagel

"He was telling officers how to survive, he's the most tactical sergeant that I've ever met in 34 years," Hagel told PEOPLE

"That's all he did — his whole drive was to get his deputies home every shift, every night

He probably told me that 400 times over the last 20 years. That was his drive. That was Ron's calling: to protect the community

600 Calorie Protein Oats Recipe (Proats) - Duration: 3:31.

What's going on everyone?

Alain Gonzalez here with WeightGainNetwork.com.

And in this video I'm going to share my 600 calorie protein oats or as most people call

them proats.

It's going to take less than two minutes to cook.

We've got about 40 grams of protein and, again, about 600 total calories, more than enough

to put you over the edge and get you into that calorie surplus necessary to gain weight

and build muscle.

Without further ado, let's jump right in.

All right, so for this recipe we just need a few things.

We need our protein powder, so whatever protein you use, that will be all you need in terms

of protein powder.

We're going to need some instant oats or oatmeal.

It doesn't really matter if you do the ones in the packet or not.

We're going to make a bowl of oats and then we're going to turn it into proats, so we

don't need much other than that and some peanut butter for flavor and obviously for calories.

All right, so just get yourself a bowl and a spoon.

We're going to put the oats into a bowl.

Add some water.

I'm going to stick this into the microwave for about one minute.

Now, once the oatmeal is cooked, all we're going to do is we're going to add a scoop

of whey protein or whatever protein you choose to use and then our two tablespoons of peanut

butter.

Okay, we're just going to get that in there and then we're just going to mix everything

up.

It seems like it's never going to mix in together, the protein powder, just keep mixing and eventually

we'll get there.

I'll show you exactly what this looks like.

This was actually one of my go-to snacks when I was in my previous bulking phase.

It made life a lot easier in terms of getting all my calories in.

All right, so there it is.

I wish you were here to smell this.

It smells absolutely amazing.

Typically I like to use crunchy peanut butter, just to add that crunch to the bowl.

But in this case we're just using creamy, which is totally fine.

Again, 40 grams of protein with just about 600 calories in a quick snack that's not only

delicious but takes a matter of minutes to make.

All right, that's pretty much it guys.

I hope you enjoy it.

Try that out.

My opinion on Rthro (NEW PREMIRES YOUTUBE FEATURE!) - Duration: 5:19.

Ok. Let me get it straight, Rthro is HERE. NOW.

I'd like to explain what Rthro is.

Rthro is a more human-like character for Roblox. There are going to be more customization options.

It explains all the downtime. It's because of all the assets Roblox is uploading, it could possibly be using up a lot of CPU. It makes for extreme lag, in short words.

But Rthro can be kinda cool.

I like rthro, in my opinion.

But other players don't. They don't like that it isn't blocky enough. But that was Anthro days.

Anthro was the proto-type for Rthro. Anthro is too realistic for roblox, so that might be a cause of why the devs made Rthro.

Rthro is optional, too.

That's what the players LIKE about rthro.

I'm going to end this talk here. Enjoy the rest!

Permanent Birth Control Options - Professional Gynecological Services - Brooklyn, NY - Duration: 3:30.

When women have decided they are "done" having children, they need to understand their options

for permanent birth control.

Permanent birth control is the second most common form of birth control in the United

States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

There are many benefits to permanent birth control such as not having to worry about

an unplanned pregnancy, the ability to have sex when and where you want, not having to

take hormones and the overall ease it brings.

Is permanent birth control a good option for me?

Your readiness for permanent birth control will depend a lot on your life circumstances.

Women consider many factors when making a decision about whether they are done having

children such as their age, which is the most commonly cited factor that goes into the decision,

as well as their financial situation and having the number of children they wanted.

Therefore, it's important to consider what's happening in your life at the time of your

decision.

I'm ready—what are my options?

If you've made a decision to pursue permanent birth control, it's important to learn about

the various surgical and nonsurgical procedures available to you or your partner.

Though most women are familiar with tubal ligation also known as "getting your tubes

tied" and vasectomy, only a small handful of women have heard of permanent birth control

that does not involve surgery.

It's time to become aware of all your permanent options.

Permanent options for females, work by closing a woman's fallopian tubes thru blocking, tying

or cutting them so an egg cannot travel to the uterus.

There are two primary forms of permanent birth control for females: Nonsurgical permanent

birth control is sometimes called fallopian tube occlusion.

This procedure involves inserting a small insert in each fallopian tube.

A natural barrier forms around the inserts in about three months, blocking the tubes.

No anesthesia is required, though local anesthesia may be used, depending on the procedure and

the patient.

Backup contraception is required until you have your three-month follow-up appointment

to ensure the inserts are in place and the fallopian tubes are blocked.

Essure is a method of hysteroscopic sterilization that was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug

Administration in 2002.

In this procedure, a thin, telescopic instrument called a hysteroscope, is inserted through

the vagina and cervix and into the uterus and is used to insert a tiny device into the

opening of each of the fallopian tubes.

These devices block the tubes and prevent pregnancy.

The other option is Tubal ligation, which is often referred to as 'getting your tubes

tied'.

In this procedure, the fallopian tubes are surgically closed, either by burning or severing

and/or blocking with a clip.

It is performed under general anesthesia and can be done laparoscopically, using a telescope-like

device that is inserted through a small incision in the abdomen.

With both forms of permanent birth control, the hormones that control a woman's menstruation

and sexuality will not change, therefore your menstrual cycle or your desire for sex will

not be affected.

Your ovaries will continue to produce eggs; your body absorbs the unfertilized eggs just

as it did before the procedure.

These procedures will not bring on early menopause.

Determining whether or not you're ready for permanent birth control is an important decision.

Professional Gynecological Services can answer any questions you may have and help you figure

out what the best option for you may be.

Bodegas Palacio Glorioso Rioja Reserva 2011 & Alec Bradley American Classic Toro Pairing - Duration: 2:06.

Howdy, wine drinker.

I'm Jacob from I Want You to Drink More Wine.

In today's video, I'll be sharing an honest wine review

and suggesting a pairing that complements

this wine perfectly.

Let's go ahead and check out our wine.

Today we've got a Glorioso.

This is a Tempranillo-based wine out of Rioja, Spain.

This would be a 2011.

One of my favorite grapes, Tempranillo-- medium-body wine

you're looking at.

I think it's going to go phenomenal

with the pairing you might have already figured out

we're doing today.

We've got a nice cigar, medium-boded cigar.

This is an Alec Bradley American Classic Toro.

This is going to be a medium-bodied cigar.

Cigar Insider rates it 88 point.

You're not going to believe how much the cigar is-- $5.19.

I think it's going to go super smooth with the pairing

that we've got for you today.

Let's go ahead, check out this wine,

see how this pairing goes, give it a try.

And so I've got a nice glass of the Glorioso.

Got it in my left hand.

Let me switch it over.

It's a little difficult to drink like that.

So it's a nice wine, not very robust, pleasant, smooth,

simple, not much complexity to it.

But it's a simple, smooth, medium-bodied wine.

Let's see how it goes with this cigar-- smooth cigar,

as I mentioned.

Oh, yeah, easy pair, I highly recommend it.

If you're going to try this cigar,

the Alec Bradley American Classic Toro, 88

points on Cigar Insider, $5.19.

Go ahead.

Get it right up here.

And if you're going to try this wine,

Bodegas Palacio Glorioso Rioja Reserva, 2011 from Rioja,

Spain.

This is going to be 3.7 on the Vivino.

I'd kick it up with this pairing.

But 3.7, solid rating, average price $19.99.

Under $25, about $25, you can get a nice wine-good cigar

pairing.

Check it out.

Go ahead.

Get that wine.

Let me know what you think.

And until our next video, take care.
