You guys, this is crazy, but scientists have created a whole new kind of matter- Yeah,

time crystals are here!

Hey there time bandits, it's Trace for DNews.

Physicists have created a new form of matter called TIME CRYSTALS!

No, it's not the time crystals you may have seen on Rick and Morty.

These time crystals have properties we haven't seen in other matter.

Usually, matter is motionless at its resting state and only has potential energy until

kinetic energy is introduced to it.

For example, a ball at rest is chock-full of 'potential energy', and when it's

kicked, that energy is converted to 'kinetic energy', the energy of motion.

But time crystals actually move at their 'resting state' or their 'ground state' — that's

when atoms have the lowest amount of energy.

They're like a ball that is forever in motion.

In other words, they are always unstable, down to the atomic level.

They are the first non-equilibrium matter ever created!

Regular crystals are an arrangement of atoms in repeated three dimensional patterns, called

a lattice.

The patterns are duplicated through space, whereas time crystals duplicate their patterns

through space AND time.

They are essentially 4 dimensional crystals!

The concept of time crystals was first theorized by Nobel Prize winner Frank Wilczek in 2012.

He surmised that there could be hypothetical matter that could move periodically even while

in a 'ground state'.

In theory, the time crystals could move without the application of energy because they would

be designed to be inherently unstable, breaking the symmetry of time, resulting in atoms that

are in perpetual motion.

Once the theory of time crystals was out in the ether, researchers focused on coming up

with methods to create this new matter that could break time symmetry.

A blueprint was created and posted online in August 2016.

The author called his paper, quote, "the bridge between the theoretical idea and the experimental

implementation".

Two teams, one from University of Maryland and one from Harvard, took the basic 'blueprint'

of how to make time crystals and got to work.

Both teams were successful but used different methods to achieve the same results.

The University of Maryland created their time crystals with a line of 10 ytterbium (it-er-be-um)

ions.

Within these ions, the spins of their electrons were entangled.

The researchers' goal was to interrupt the ions' normal equilibrium.

To do this, they used two lasers, one to flip the ions and a second laser to create a magnetic

field.

The first laser flipped ions over, causing them to interact with other ions, making them

flip over, all within the magnetic field created by the second laser.

This process continued until all the ions were oscillating, or spinning.

This was considered normal behavior for a regular crystal, but researchers noticed something

strange.

As the lasers continued to nudge the ions, they realized that the ions were now reacting

more frequently than they were being nudged.

According to researcher Norman Yao, this is like jiggling jello and having it move when

you weren't poking it.

Researchers had essentially broke the time symmetry and created a new form of non-equilibrium

matter that continued moving at its 'ground state'!

Voila!

A time crystal!

Researchers at Harvard went about creating their time crystal differently.

Instead of ytterbium ions, they used nitrogen vacancy centers, which are certain impurities

found in diamonds.

And instead of using lasers, Harvard researchers used microwaves to cause the ions in the diamonds

to flip and oscillate.

Different method, same result: time crystals.

This new form of matter could lead to future breakthroughs in quantum computing and understanding

the various forms matter can ultimately take.

Researchers have also remarked that their creation of time crystals is evidence that

time symmetry can be broken and that non-equilibrium matter CAN exist.

Josh Trank, Fantastic Four Given the insane success the MCU is currently

stick for quite some time now: the Fantastic Four.

They've had a few shots at glory and fallen spectacularly short every time.

The 2015 incarnation directed by Josh Trank was no exception.

Hopes were high that a shakeup would be just what the doctor ordered, but again the offering

fell flat.

Many blame the studio for muddying the waters during post-production.

The movie was a let-down for everyone involved, and talks of a sequel have been swept under

the rug for the time being.

Daniel Craig, Spectre Daniel Craig made the PR team work for their

paychecks during press for 2015's Spectre.

The actor is done with playing James Bond, and he doesn't care who knows it.

Craig has voiced concern over how 007 is part of the problem with Hollywood depictions of

masculinity.

The actor argues that the super spy is a violent misogynist and all-around prick.

And that might be true.

But after consistently being told what an "honor" it is to play the character, fans

may have been surprised to hear the opposite.

Ryan Reynolds, X-Men Origins: Wolverine Ryan Reynolds knew he'd be the perfect guy

to play Deadpool, so when the opportunity came up back in 2009, the actor took it.

But anyone who's seen X-Men Origins: Wolverine knows the merc with a mouth started as the

merc without a mouth.

Reynolds was given every assurance that the role was gonna be awesome, but it wasn't

until he showed up on set that he realized he'd been straight lied to.

The actor campaigned hard to have the character taken in the right direction, and as a thanks

for his efforts, production threatened to replace him.

After the success of the 2016 installment, it's hard to imagine the character as anything

less than great, but all good things take time.

George Clooney - Batman & Robin Of all the sins committed in the name of Batman,

there is one that reigns supreme, and will never be forgiven for as long as the character

exists: bat nipples.

And while the batsuit modification first appears in Batman Forever, it's 1997's Batman

& Robin that whipped audiences into a tizzy.

It's not the only change that had fans pissed off, but it's definitely the funniest.

And just in case you think George Clooney is oblivious to all this criticism, he's

not.

It seems like he hates it more than any of us could, even referring to it as "a waste

of money".

Joe Franchise Contracts are a tricky thing, and can come

back to bite you in the butt if you don't read the fine print.

When Channing Tatum was a Hollywood newbie, he signed a document that production used

to corral him into a role he never wanted: Duke in the G.I.

Joe franchise.

The actor is on record as saying he hates the movies.

And that if the bosses didn't threaten to sue him to high heaven, he'd have passed

on the role completely.

The promise of guaranteed work seemed like a gift at the time.

But the lack of agency over which work he got to do was a major blow.

Woody Allen, Annie Hall Creative types are notoriously hard on themselves,

and Woody Allen is no exception.

The accomplished filmmaker has made some of the most renowned classics in movie history.

And while many may find his films inaccessible or pretentious, for others, nothing can compare.

But for Allen, once the movie is made, the party's over.

And the director has talked about distancing himself from the final product because it's

But you'd never know that by looking at the press junket that followed.

The actor was so disappointed in the film and it's script that he refused to participate

in promotional interviews.

After joining the project, the actor reportedly disagreed with the direction of the story

and constantly argued for changes to be made.

From his perspective, Norton explains that he simply wasn't afraid to speak his mind

about the poor decisions being made on set.

It seems as though everyone had high hopes for the movie, but Norton came away the most

disappointed.

Bill Murray, Garfield There are a handful of people in Hollywood

who have similar names.

And when those people get mixed up, some super weird movies get made.

So when a script by Joel Cohen landed in front of Bill Murray, he jumped at the opportunity

to work with the great mind behind The Big Lebowski, No Country For Old Men, and Burn

After Reading.

Murray admits being apprehensive about wether or not a lasagna-loving feline named Garfield

could carry an entire movie.

And when he learned that the story wasn't actually written by the Coen brothers like

he thought, it was too late.

Turns out, he agreed to work with the Joel Cohen behind Daddy Day Camp, and Cheaper by

the Dozen.

Murray reportedly scrambled to make the script funnier once he realized he was locked in,

but was met with constant resistance.

Halle Berry, Catwoman Catwoman is a beloved character in the Batman

canon.

And any actress tapped to play the feisty feline has some big claws to fill.

When the character was blessed with a solo movie in 2004, hopes were high.

After a string of appearances in other bat-related properties, finally the cat-burglar was going

to be the center of attention.

The movie was panned by audiences for being over-the-top and cheesy, and is remembered

today for all the wrong reasons.

But when the movie won a boatload of Razzie's for being the "worst" across multiple

categories, star Halle Berry and screenplay writer Michael Ferris showed off their senses

of humor, accepting their awards in person.

David Ayer, Suicide Squad If you ever find yourself cursing Hollywood

for pumping out the same flick year after year, consider what happens to filmmakers

who take risks.

2016's Suicide Squad was another divisive addition to the DCEU.

And David Ayer hasn't heard the end of it since.

The director has come under fire from all sides of the debate, and oftentimes for things

outside of his control.

Ayer's acknowledged some flaws in the final cut, and said that if he could do things differently,

he would.

Ticket holders felt duped by a bait-and-switch marketing strategy which led everyone to believe

the Joker would be a central figure in the storyline.

And after reflecting on it, the director wishes he'd given more screen time to the Clown

Prince of Crime.

We just hope

Number Three: $1000 Sundae, and I aint talkin the weekend.

Sundae from Serendipity in New York, is topped with three scoops of decadent Tahi tian

named it the most expensive omelet on the planet – which you know, could also be made

in your pan, at home, for a whole lot cheaper.

There are many different types of relationships you can have in life, but there are a few

types that are completely essential to your journey on this planet.

Here are 3 types of people you need to find in life:

Your Soul Mate.

Your Soul Mate

Your soul mate is the one who you just click with on every level.

There is never any awkwardness, and it�s literally impossible to feel uncomfortable

around them.

Their may be fights and arguments, but they are always resolved in a way that strengthens

the relationship.

You could spend 3 years away from that person and reunite with them as if nothing has changed

because you resonate at every possible level.

When you meet them, you may feel a strange sense of familiarity as if you had chosen

to include them in your life prior to even being born.

This strange sense of familiarity often times comes from the fact that you share past lives

with this person, and you both chose to come here to go on a mission together.

Contrary to what pop-culture may have you believe, your soul mate is not necessary the

opposite sex, and they are not even necessarily a life partner.

They may show up in the form of a mother, a brother or sister, or a best friend.

Every person encounters their soul mate at some point in their life.

If you haven�t found them yet, expect to in the future.

Your Mirror.

Your Mirror

Your mirror is the person who tells you things as they are.

They are straight-up honest with you, and don�t care if they hurt your feelings.

But it is because they don�t care about your feelings that enables them to make such

a transformative impact on you.

I�m not talking about a jerk here.

I�m talking about a friend that will tell you when you are backsliding, going out of

integrity, or are not behaving in a way that you should be.

It�s often the case they you will serve the same role in their life as they do in

their life, and for this reason you guys act as a mirror for one another and reflect back

areas you need to work on.

You may argue with them more often than is necessary, but beneath your arguments lies

a genuine care for one another that can�t be shaken.

Sometimes, we all need someone to call us out when we fail to hold ourselves accountable.

Your Guardian.

Your Guardian

Your guardian is a mentor, a teacher, and a guide.

They provide you with inspiration, encouragement, groundedness, and feedback on your life.

They help coach you through your struggles, naivety, and growth spurts.

For some people, their guardian may come in the form of a family member, where for others

it may come in the form of a teacher, a coach or a pastor.

These are three archetypal persons that everyone will benefit from having in their lives.

If you are lucky enough to have them already, fight for them and appreciate them.

If you haven�t encountered them yet, keep working on your own development and they will

manifest in your life as they are needed.

Gigi Hadid Faces Criticism After She's Accused of Mocking Asians | Splash News TV - Duration: 1:13.

Gigi Hadid is in some trouble for a controversial video that shows her mimicking a smiling Buddha

while celebrating a birthday dinner.

The video has since been removed from her Instagram, but the Twitter chatter is far

from over, with certain people calling out Gigi's actions as "racist" towards Asian

communities.

Gigi's mom, Yolanda Foster, came to her daughter's defense via Twitter, saying,

"Only a toxic mind will perceive hugging a chocolate laughing Buddha as racist…"

Of course, this didn't calm down the social justice warriors…

Yolanda had to continue to defend her family, Tweeting, "Color, shape, religion or race

does not exist in the hearts of our family as we are a melting pot of all."

Gigi fans were also able to point out that her boyfriend, Zayn Malik, is also technically

of Asian decent due to his British-Pakistani roots.

We're not sure if Gigi's actions will have any real consequences, but the conversation

is definitely alive, and we're thinking she'll at least be conscious of these types

of actions in the future.

Madonna Granted Permission to Adopt Two More Kids From Malawi | Splash News TV - Duration: 1:11.

Even though Madonna has gone on record and said she is not planning to add to her family…

Madonna has reportedly been granted permission to adopt two more children from Malawi.

The news comes from the BBC and they say that the Queen of Pop was actually in the courtroom

with her lawyers when the ruling was handed down.

They go on to claim that the 58-year-old filed an application of interest in adopting two

children on January 25th… but at the time she denied the story – saying that she was

in Malawito check on the children's hospital and to check on her charity Raising Malawi

and then heading home.

Back in 2006, Madonna founded the children's charity… and then adopted her first child

from the region: David Banda, now aged 11.

Three years later she adopted Mercy James, also 11, even though critics slammed the Malawian

government for allowing David to join the singer's family despite laws to deter nonresident

adoption.

Now we're really left to wonder what will happen if she adopts two more.

Hi, my name is Jon. I'm a librarian at Gorgas Library.

This video is about how to find, access, and download ebooks through UA Libraries.

We provide access to hundreds of thousands of ebook titles in every discipline and subject area.

These resources will show up along with other results when you search in Scout or in the Libraries' Catalog.

You can also access our e-Books directly by using our e-Resources finding tool from the front page,

or by browsing our e-Books collections on our Databases Index.

However you find them, you should be able to access any ebook in PDF format from its record and view it in your browser.

Our ebook titles are licensed from dozens of content providers and publishers.

This can cause some confusion when trying to download an ebook for offline access, or when trying to print from an ebook,

because these publishers differ in how restrictive they are of their content.

Some publishers and providers, like Springer, will allow you to download a .pdf or ePUB copy of an ebook to your computer or eReader

directly for offline access, without any real restrictions.

This process is relatively easy: you just need to select download and then choose where to store the file.

Other providers, like Ebscohost, will require you to set up a free user account with them and also to use Adobe Digital Editions,

which is a free ebook management program, to download the ebook file.

Ebsco is a major e-book provider, so I'm going to walk through this process to show you what it looks like for a first-time user.

So I've found a book that I want to read. Again, I can access it freely from inside my browser if I don't need to actually download it.

When I go to download it, I'm prompted to create an Ebsco account and to download Adobe Digital Editions.

First I'll create the Ebsco Account.

Now I'll download Adobe Digital Editions for Windows, paying special attention to the download options.

I am not going to link this download to an Adobe ID, but would need to do this if I wanted to access the e-book on multiple devices.

Now I am able to access the book that I have downloaded.

Once you jump through these hoops, future downloads are more immediate,

although be sure to keep track of any passwords and account information that you create.

It should also be noted that, for some content, the "download" option will be displayed as "checkout."

Hanna's Spinal Decompression Testimonial - Duration: 1:34.

OK Hanna so how many spinal

decompression therapy sessions have you

had so far? I have only had four

so far started last, a week ago Wednesday

so it's been only four sessions and what

sort of changes have you experienced in

your symptoms? It's been incredible I've been

able to- sorry I'm getting emotional- but what I have been able

to cut back on medication, I can get

out of bed in the morning without taking

any major medication as soon as I get up, I

walked for like 20 minutes

without any pain it's honestly

unbelievable to me like how much relief

I've received in four sessions of doing this

it's even hard to believe but I'm so grateful.

And how would you describe the treatment

to someone who'd never experienced or

heard of it before?

Oh from what I understand of spinal decompression

basically taking the pressure off all

you're taking the pressure off the nerve by

kind of it does a bit of an expansion

and creates a negative space so that the

body can heal itself it's actually really

comfortable you lie down on the bed

for half an hour and you kind of relax I

almost fell asleep the other day and it feels really comfortable

and the relief has been amazing so

far I can't wait. I'm just in the initial stages

of a two-month program

I hope to be brand-new by the time I'm done

bunch of like subpar crappy you know two

and Square Enix you know they've got

back in my good graces since day but put

out Final Fantasy XV I don't think it's

a great game

I do have to admit that I think I would

bring my rating down a little bit since

I've beaten it because after beating is

still phenomenal game but after beating

it left a little bit of a hollow feeling

inside of me and I felt like their tits

that could have been a little bit more

to it I guess so i'll go ahead and put

it down to a pretty damn great set of a

masterpiece but hey where is getting up

there and they did have me on cloud nine

when it first came out I forgot it in my

hands I was so so high on and I was like

now Supremes but you know this is the

the the drawback to reviewing so quickly

sometimes in this fast-paced society

that we live in but i mean i don't think

i ever give ratings to the point where

they're so far off the mark

that would be so much of a drastic

change if i were to kind of recap later

so masterpiece a pretty damn great is

not too much of a major difference but i

noticed that there is a blog they did

leave me feeling a little empty so I

gotta go ahead and drop it back down but

I'm let's get back to the topic on hand

which is Square Enix they've gotten back

in my good graces so I was feeling that

they're going to do a good job with this

new Avengers game that they're coming

out with so let's go ahead and watch

what this game will bring I thought it

was being developed by Square Enix but I

guess it's just being published by them

which Crystal Dynamics the people who

gives a new Tomb Raider reboot are

actually developing it and it was like

items monster girls involved as well

man I don't even really know what the

begging of much but clearly we're gonna

have Thor and Captain America I didn't

notice any other relics for many of the

other Avengers there might have been a

low i think Black Widow might have been

the one speaking I didn't see anything

for Hulk or Vision or Black Panther or

Spider-Man but I mean this is really the

the epitome of a team that they don't

really show us a damn thing but hey I'm

just glad is coming out and i will do a

good job to Crystal Dynamics keeps up

the the good production value that

they've been meeting you know with what

you call it a Tomb Raider I don't know

how much forgotten with a Tomb Raider

and rise of the Tomb Raider then I was

doing that this will be a grenade my

gear so what'd you guys think of this
