BREAKING Malia Obama Just CAUGHT RED-HANDED… There's NO Denying THIS ONE!! - BreakingNews24 - Duration: 34:36.

BREAKING Malia Obama Just CAUGHT RED-HANDED…

There's NO Denying THIS ONE!!

Being the daughter of a president isn't easy, and Malia Obama is finding that out

the hard way.

Everywhere the 18-year-old goes, she's followed by paparazzi who are just dying to get that

$100,000 picture, and boy did one of them ever score gold in New York City over the

weekend while Malia was out with her new beau, Rory, and he was caught doing something Michelle

absolutely hates, The Daily Mail reported.

The pair were spotted perusing the streets together in the cold weather, each draped

over with a heavy coat to keep warm, and during at least one stop, Rory was seen blowing a

fag (British for smoking a cigarette – look it up) as the pair sat along a concrete wall.

That's really not going to make Mama Obama happy one bit.

From the Daily Mail:

There was plenty of love – and laughter – as former First Daughter Malia Obama was

spotted enjoying the company of her British beau, Rory Farquharson, in New York City at

the weekend.

Rory first entered the media spotlight, when he was caught passionately kissing President

Barack Obama's eldest daughter before a Harvard-Yale football game in November.

And if these latest pictures are anything to go by, the loved-up couple are still going

strong.

Malia, 19, who took a gap year before starting at Harvard this fall, met her sophomore boyfriend

at their Ivy League university.

They were spotted casually chatting and sitting together on Saturday afternoon in Soho, New

York city, while Rory enjoyed a cigarette.

Rory couldn't quite take his eyes off his pretty girlfriend, while both kept themselves

shielded from the weather in their designer winter coats.

His smoking habit is one that Malia herself has enjoyed on occasion, having been spotted

previously smoking a cigarette.

Her father, Barack, was also a regular smoker prior to entering the White House.

So, while it's not the most pressing news of the day, at least we all know that Malia's

rebellious streak seems

to

be continuing.

Drake's "Diplomatic Immunity" References, Explained | Genius News - Duration: 3:54.

Jacques: Drake is back with Scary Hours featuring two new tracks, "God's Plan"

and "Diplomatic Immunity."

"God's Plan" is sure to get some playlist love but "Diplomatic Immunity" contains

a ton of references.

Let's begin with the most brazen.

Jacques: Drake is referencing Hitler's battle plans as a metaphor for his hostile mood.

And as Genius editor jonredwood explains: In 1936, Hitler broke the Treaty of Versailles, which [became one of the] inciting incident for World War II.

Jacques: The 'cease and desist' part could also reference Drake's alleged ghostwriter,

Quentin Miller's track of the same name.

Or the fact that it's illegal in many countries to name things "champagne,"

if they aren't grapes from the French region.

Elsewhere, he touches on the year he dropped his debut album, "Thank Me Later,"

and his rumored fling with Jennifer Lopez, along with a nod to her current boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez.

Jacques: In addition to the nod to Dipset's debut album, "Diplomatic Immunity" on

the song's title, Drake's cut also contains bars from another New York City rap collective,

Wu-Tang Clan, a theme since "Scary Hours" is also the name of a Wu-tang Clan song.

Jacques: Drake spreads the love including references to the Chicago trio, Do or Die

and Colombian singer, Shakira.

Jacques: And it wouldn't be a proper Drake confessional without a Rihanna mention—

especially by her government name.

Jacques: TDE's SZA gets some born name love, too.

Jacques: This next bar could be addressing the rumors that swirled around Drake in 2017,

after two women claimed to be pregnant by the rapper.

Jacques: And this isn't the first time the MC has rapped about paternity.

Jacques: Drake also appears to target Complex's "Everyday Struggle"...

Jacques: Along with DJ Akademiks and former host, Joe Budden.

Jacques: But Drake reminds listeners that he's a hip-hop heavyweight

by mentioning the 13 Billboard trophies he won in 2017.

Jacques: Drake links his winning number with the Sureños Gang, which also goes by Sur-13.

Jacques: On the sports side, Drake invokes an elusive Hall of Fame running back

for these next bars.

Jacques: Drake also borrows a classic line from Disney's 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.'

Jacques: It seems that Drake's "Diplomatic Immunity" is more than a history lesson

and a tearful dedication to J. Lo.

I'm Jacques Morel with Genius news,

bringing you the meaning and the knowledge behind the music.

Peace!

Is Brock Creepy? - The REAL TRUTH of Pokemon! - Duration: 13:43.

Brock, his name rhymes with rock, and that's the kinda shit he likes. Well, that and the

laaaadieeessss! Seriously this guy just can't get enough! I mean, dudes (and lesbians...

I guess anyone who's into summa that sweet Officer Jenny if you know what I mean wink

wink) if ya had half the determination of this guy you'd be rolling in the joy. But

Brock here never seems to pull it off. Homie just can't catch a break!

A man with his eyes wide shut, Brock is one of the most consistent and well-loved characters

from the culturally explosive Pokémon anime. This guy rocked out thirteen seasons of that

show and still comes back from time to time to shed a little love on some hot Ash. For

most of us in the Americas and Europe, Pokémon was our first foray into anime and Japan's...

very different style of comedy. More on that later, for now, let us bask in the greatness

of this legend and his giant rock snake. A dude whose passion lies in the geo, and

the pants. A deviant, who loves a lady in uniform. A true-blue perve who specializes

in the day game. A FIGURE WITHOUT WHOM we would have no Pokemans cause Ash and Misty

would've gotten lost and died in the woods somewhere.

But is there more to him than this? Is there something underneath this sleepy-eyed Tepig

slinger's comical exterior that we've been missing all along? Something that could explain

his insatiable thirst for some hot Cloyster? Well that's why we're here! At the surface

Brock may seem as if he's only out to snorkel for some Clamperl. But inside... well that's

where things get juicy. Come along with me as we search through the

velvety folds of... Brocks brain. To find the gooey center of this hot chocolate tootsie

pop. To find what makes the turgid rock master so hard...

to figure out. Because somewhere inside us all there is a simple truth waiting to be

discovered. This one just happens to be Brock's truth, the REAL TRUTH!

Brock is a character of simple design, you take a little Naruto, some Gin Ichimaru, and

sprinkle on that Lando Calrissian and boom, you got Brock. In the Pokémon games he's

simply the first gym leader you steam roll on your path to glory. But in the anime, Brock

is not only the leader of the Pewter City rock-type gym, but he's a main character and

friend of Ash and Misty. He's also the best character aside from maybe

James, that's the real truth, deal with it.

Regardless, if it wasn't for Brock there really wouldn't be much of a show. You see,

Ash and Misty are both pretty young, and really stupid. Neither one of them could navigate

their way out of a cardboard box, especially Ash but we've covered that. No, we're here

for Brock, so let's go back to the beginning. We meet Brock in episode 5 of the anime. At

first, he seems like a real hard-ass and he beats Ash's stupid Pokémon into the dirt

right away, however we learn more about his backstory quickly when Ash runs into Brock's

dad. Disguised as a dude who looks like he drives a white van around giving out candy,

Brock's dad Flint - get it? It's a rock joke. Another rock joke, cause flint is like, a

stone. Anyway, Flint reveals that he left his family to become a Pokémon trainer. This,

in turn left Brock to take care of everything in his stead. These responsibilities included

maintaining the Pewter City gym and raising and caring for his 10 brothers and sisters

all by himself. It isn't said exactly when Flint left, but we can assume he's been gone

for a long time. Brock is 15 during the show which means Brock couldn't have been much

older than a pre-teen when he had to find a way to financially support a household as

well as feed himself and ten other kids. Maybe Pokémon gyms are that lucrative a business,

but that's still an insane amount of pressure to put on a young person! I can barely take

care of myself, let alone 10 other people! But during his time taking care of his siblings,

Brock not only figured out how to maintain a business and balance a budget for 11, but

also to cook, clean and sew. He was like a single mother, washing and drying! And speaking

of mothers! During this exposition we also learn that Brock's mother is dead. But again,

more on that later. What we're left with when all is said and done is a 15-year-old kid

living like a middle-aged adult with a family. Someone who not only dealt with crushing responsibility,

but also the death of a mother and abandonment from a father. As far as Brock was concerned

all of his hopes and dreams were going to be taking a permanent backseat to the things

that he had to do. At least until his deadbeat dad showed back up and took over the gym again.

After years of being a failure, Flint finally decides to come back to allow Brock to go

on his own Pokémon journey, and without a single second of contemplation Brock hands

him a list of things he needs to know about the kids and leaves.

I mean, I would too. But that's pretty hilarious! "Bye kids!

Good luck with dad and stuff, you'll be fine!" After being liberated by Ash, Brock clearly

feels like he owes the kid some kind of wookie life debt, cause he sticks around with that

idiot for wayyy to long! Do you know how many broken bridges and pitfalls Brock walked into

cause of Ash? Way too many. Though, perhaps at this point this is what Brock knew how

to do best, take care of stupid little kids. Throughout their journeys it was always Brock

who cooked the food, set up camp, carried the maps, and was the voice of reason when

arguments broke out between Ash and Misty, who just need to bang and get it over with

already. Brock took care of the Pokémon and provided the medicine, he even coached Ash

through some of his toughest battles. Honestly Brock seems like a really good dude!

Well, that is until he gets a whiff of the ladies.

On the surface, Brock would be a pretty good catch...If I was of the manmeat persuasion

brock would be pretty high on my waifu list. Alas, we can only dream.

However, all of Brock's positive personality traits never get to shine when it comes to

the Nurse Joy's and Officer Jenny's of the world...or really any other woman besides

Misty. You see, Brock has some serious inner demons that come out when he's around women

and his personality completely changes. Besides becoming the best Pokémon breeder in the

world...which I mean, ALSO has to do with sex, but, I'm not touching that one...Brock

really just wants to find a girlfriend. However, he's so desperate to do so he goes all sexnuts

and starts babbling like, like idk, like he's Ash or something trying to win a Pokémon

battle! However, Brock's naughty desires seem very "directed" if you know what I mean. Let

me break it down for you. Throughout his adventures Brock is always

accompanied by a female travel buddy as well, generally some chick who has a boner for Ash.

Despite being around them all the time, Brock never shows any interest in the slightest.

Instead it's made pretty obvious that Brock is looking for a woman, or at least someone

older than him like: Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy, this ghost lady, Pokémon groomer chick,

the biker punk with the green hair, sometimes Jessie... you get the point. Perhaps what

it comes down to is Brock fitting under the totally scientific classification of "boob

guy" but I think it's something a little more messed up.

Though, if you doubt this real truth I invite you to fight me bro, cause look at how jealous

Misty Dawn and... May's little brother get whenever Brock starts getting all drooly over

some rando! They're totally using protect against his Arbok if you know what it is that

I am saying! But let's take a step back towards the root

of this problem. You may remember earlier when I mentioned

Flint saying Brock's mom is dead? Well guess what? She's NOT. In 2006 a little offshoot

of the Pokémon anime briefly got an airing in the states and in episode five Brock goes

home from his adventures in Johto to find that his mother, Lola, has returned! Not only

that but she's taken over the Pewter City gym and turned it into a water type gym, AND

WE KNOW WE DON'T NEED TWO OF THOSE IN KANTO, goddamn ing Starmie stupid piece of

Anyway, Brock gets really triggered and forces his dad to battle his mom on the terms that

the gym will change back to a rock type center if she loses. But Flint is a rock type user

and Lola is a water type user. Ey sumthin seems a little fishy here!

Naturally Flint gets his ass kicked but he and Lola reconcile their love. Unimpressed

Brock notices his brother Forrest is upset about the change to the gym and promises to

win it back, you know, for the rocks. Big beautiful rocks. you know, people used to

drive those babies for miles! Needless to say, Brock wins back the gym and sets off

to Hoenn with his MESSED up family in his rearview mirror.

So, in review, we have a 15-year-old kid, obsessed with mature, strong women. He has

a knack for being a caretaker, in fact it's his dream to become a Pokémon breeder and

eventually a Pokémon doctor. As a child he was abandoned by his father and his mother

who was assumed dead for who knows how long and left to take care of his 10 brothers and

sisters and maintain his family business. All by himself.

Whoa! Hold up! Red flags everywhere! Can you not see it yet? Brock is a classic case!

That's right, according to one of the most trusted sights on the internet "urbandictionary.com"

Brock has a serious case of "mommy issues." A dangerous condition, mommy issues can be

described as "...issues [that] arise when somebody's mother is an absolute cool cat

and does not give them the care they require throughout childhood."

" Guys with mommy issues usually turn out to be players and seek women['s] affection

through sex/ have bad image of women. Or think they want a gf/wife but really want a girl

to act like their mommy. Also usually those with commitment issues too"

If this isn't Brock in a seedot shell than I don't know what is. However, that's not

it. Brock has a dual prognosis, trust me, I'm a doctor. On top of his horrible mommy

issues Brock also has... Daddy issues! Like mommy issues, daddy issues

arise from having a shitty neglectful father. Though commonly thought to be a female-only

problem, research has shown that men are also equally inflicted by these daddy induced problems.

Daddy issues can be described as: A condition brought on by a woman or man having

a lack of, or abusive relationship with his or her father.

This results in a lack of self confidence, clingyness, whinyness, inability to cope with

ones own bullshit, and generally being an all-around cat.

Some other symptoms may include: Needing a partner to feel like a whole person

Seeking validation through someone else's genitals

Asking to be spanked Seeking partners who are older or have more

money than you Enjoying being put down or shamed

Getting more than one STD Chronic masturbation

Being a f boi Now, all joking and urbandictionarying aside,

mommy and daddy issues are actually a real thing, though not in name. Generally, what

it boils down to is the idea of neglect. Neglect is a horrible and traumatic issue many children

face across the world and can result in some long lasting social and emotional side effects.

It's a domestic issue that is heavily punished by the Department of Social Services, at least

in the United States. When a child is proven to be neglected, DSS will often go as far

as to remove that child from the custody of their parents. The ordeals that Brock went

through as a child, being abandoned, being left in charge of his siblings, can permanently

alter someone's outlook on life and society. On the surface it seems like Brock stepped

up and succeeded in keeping his household together, but on the inside, he was probably

scared and lonely. It's not like he could talk to his younger brothers and sisters about

what he was going through. Deep down, all Brock really wanted was for someone to take

care of him, so he could relax, and feel like a kid is supposed to.

Unfortunately, a lot of emotional issues become cyclical in nature, and even though Brock

was freed by his dad coming back, he stuck with Ash and Misty once again becoming a caregiver,

because that's all he really knew. Brock states many times that all he wants is a girlfriend,

but what he really wants is for someone to fill the hole that his parents left him. He

needs someone to always be there for him, someone to take care of him, someone he can

depend on when he feels like he can't do everything. However even if Brock got his wish it's impossible

for anyone to be what Brock wants. Because he has no concept of normality, he expects

that perfect is normal, but nobody is perfect. When people throw around the terms "mommy

or daddy issues" generally what they're describing is someone who is desperate for affection

because they never had any. People who come off way too strong because they have unrealistic

expectations of others. Spending that much time alone and in your own head, creating

a world where you could be happy, and then going out and trying to make that dream a

reality is futile and ends up with you getting hurt, someone else getting hurt, or both.

It's important to understand that everyone and everything is flawed and that's what normal

really is. Unfortunately, Brock can't do that yet, so he gets a lot of this!

Regardless, it's important to understand that people come from all walks of life, and just

because you see them a certain way, doesn't mean you're right. Brock is a really good

guy. Someone who was strong enough to step up and essentially save his family. He cares

deeply about people and Pokémon despite the neglect his caregivers showed him. Sure, he

hasn't figured it out yet, but has anyone? Anyway, that's the real truth about Brock

Harrison. That's right you heard me, apparently his last name is Harrison, can I get some

verification on that in the comments?? Either way, if you liked this video and want to see

more make sure you hit that like button and subscribe! As you guys might've heard in our

10 Scary Confessions Caught on Tape - Duration: 15:02.

Police detectives are allowed to use a wide variety of mind games to convince suspects

to tell them everything they know, and these advanced tactics are designed to get all of

the details until every last memory has been squeezed dry.

Most of the confessions on this list came only after hours of intense questioning, though

some were willing to fully recall all of their wrongdoings as if they were fond memories.

10.

Daniel Wozniak is broke and needs money for his wedding, so he comes up with an unlikely

solution that's twisted, sadistic and downright bizarre.

He asks his friend Sam to help him move some boxes over at his place and instead takes

his life.

This is what Daniel tells the police when arrested a short while later.

. .

The plan was to take Sam's ATM card and drain

his entire life savings to pay for Daniel's marriage.

Daniel disposes of his friend in a nearby park.

He then goes to Sam's apartment and uses Sam's phone to invite Sam's girlfriend

Julie over.

When Julie arrives, she finds Daniel waiting outside instead of her boyfriend.

Daniel says he has something important to show her and lets them inside with Sam's

keys.

Daniel was obviously out of his mind by this point, but here is what he was thinking.

He hoped that the police would mistakenly conclude that Sam ended Julie's life and

then went on the run.

The deception doesn't work as planned and he was quickly taken into custody.

9.

Jeromie ["Jeremy"] Cancel was 24-years-old and homeless when he saw a Pace University

student named Kevin Pravia ["Pra-ve-a"] returning home from a bar one morning.

Kevin asked Jeromie to sell him something and then Jeromie agreed to go up to the apartment

where together they watched Saw.

When the student passed out a little while later, Jeromie started pillaging all of his

belongings.

Then he suddenly got another idea . . .

Jeromie claimed that his main motivation for doing this was purely boredom.

He showed absolutely no remorse throughout his trial and reportedly laughed in reaction

to the court's imposed sentence of 25 years to life.

8.

Linda Stein was an extremely wealthy New Yorker who had once co-managed a famous punk band

called The Ramones decades ago.

She eventually switched careers from the music industry to the real estate business and hired

someone named Natavia Lowery ["Na-ta-ve-a" "Video Pronunciation of Last Name"] to

be her personal assistant.

But when Natavia took around $30 thousand from her boss, Linda confronted her about

it in person, and that's when things got completely out of control.

Natavia grabbed a heavy walking stick from Linda during the middle of the argument and,

in her words…

Though she may look remorseful now, Natavia was so angry that she doesn't remember how

many times she used the walking stick before regaining her composure.

By the time it was done, the wealthy socialite ["social-lite"] was on the ground and

no longer moving.

Natavia was sentenced to a minimum of 32 years for her actions.

7.

Alonso Perez ["A-lon-so" "Per-rez"] is suspected of taking another man's life

and now finds himself inside of a stuffy North Vegas police department interrogation room.

He looks around nervously for a while and then decides to make one last effort at escaping.

Thinking fast, Alonso leverages all of his body weight against the cuffs and snaps free.

He remains seated for a long time and tries to make it appear as though he is still shackled.

I think his original plan was to jump the next person who entered, but then he looks

at the ceiling and gets a better idea.

Alonso stands up and easily removes a square drywall panel.

He rips out some insulation and then makes his way through the rafters.

Amazingly, he was able to drop out the ceiling into an empty hallway and quietly leaves through

the backdoor.

Authorities were able to recapture him four days later and they are now seeking capital

punishment.

6.

When a Florida man named Checkingson Sinclair ["Check-ing-son" "Sin-clare"] discovers

a text message from his wife's ex-boyfriend on her phone, the two get into a serious argument

and Checkingson ends up doing the unthinkable.

He calls the police one hour later and lets them know exactly what he's done to his

wife who is in the bedroom.

What's most concerning is the even tone in Checkingson's voice.

There is almost no emotion whatsoever as he makes his confession.

According to Checkingson's story, his wife became aggressive and he did what needed to

be done to stop her.

He was found guilty of his actions one year later and his trial sentencing started in

February 2017.

I couldn't find anything beyond that, so maybe the final sentence is still being debated

in court.

5.

25-year-old John Paul Suleski ["Soul-les-ski"] was angry at the world when he decided to

randomly take the life of an innocent jogger one day in Fort Smith, Arkansas ["Are-can-saw"].

When police pry for details, John describes the jogger's initial reaction after what

happened.

John's exact motivations seem to vary throughout the police interview.

He seems angry at times, but then seems sad and talks about how much wrong there is in

the world.

During this part of the interview it seems like he thinks ending a person's life is

helpful because of how miserable the world is.

He was sentenced to life behind bars without any chance of parole.

4.

In 2008, an eight year old child named Christian Romero was accused of taking the lives of

his father and another man in their Arizona apartment.

In the state of Arizona anyone 8 years old and up can be legally charged with an offense,

so believe it or not there was an interrogation.

Police were able to get Christian to confess pulling the trigger on the two adults, though

his testimony remains controversial due to his young age.

Some people say that the 8-year-old didn't understand the interrogation and simply felt

pressured to say what the police wanted to hear.

Christian was sentenced to a ward where he remained until he was 15, at which point he

was placed in a foster home and allowed to attend public school.

I couldn't find anything else about exactly why he did this, so if anyone knows more details

about this mysterious case, then please let me know what caused Christian Romero to commit

such a heinous act on that day.

3.

Elizabeth Wettlaufer was a hospital nurse who sometimes cared for elderly patients out

of their homes.

Now she is talking with a police detective after doing what the voices were telling her

to do.

Elizabeth goes on to explain she how she would hear a voice not in her head, but somewhere

deep in her stomach.

This voice would encourage her to over dose her patients with insulin.

When she did as she was told, the voice would howl with laughter and move from her stomach

up into her chest for a while before moving back down and requesting for more.

She said that she personally didn't like giving her patients too much insulin.

She didn't like how they would shake and moan throughout the night until they passed

away clutching their sheets, though sometimes she admits she would watch with some degree

of curiosity.

But apparently this was not Elizabeth's choice.

God was directing her to do this, and she didn't question his divine plan at first.

After a while, however, she thought that maybe it was the devil tricking her into believing

she was doing God's work, and this thought worried her deeply.

Of course the hospital didn't know any of this was happening in her head because she

appeared relatively normal on the outside.

In fact, the hospital was planning to move her into the kids ward to operate their insulin

pumps.

She quickly resigned when she heard about this change because she knew she would lose

control and possibly do something to a small child.

Even in her delusional state, Elizabeth knew she couldn't follow instructions to do that

to a small child from anyone, not even God.

She planned to flee the country, but she decided to check herself into the psych ward instead.

She spent three weeks under evaluation and said enough to her appointed psychiatrist

during this time to raise concern.

The psych ward alerted the authorities who took her in for questioning.

She proceeded to describe in detail how she ended the lives of 8 patients and attempted

to do the same to many more.

In 2017 she was given life behind bars with parole eligibility within 25 years.

2.

Jerrod Murray was a student at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma who everyone could

tell was a little off.

One day he asked a fellow student for a ride to Walmart in exchange for 20 dollars.

The student gladly agreed and Jerrod got inside.

Somewhere along the way, Jerrod pulled a small fire arm and began playing with it.

He told his driver to go to the nearby town of Asher instead of Walmart.

During the long ride, Jerrod talked with his companion about life in general and many other

philosophical subjects.

He seemed to enjoy toying with the young man's mind all the while.

At one point Jerrod unchambered his fire arm and gave both the fire arm and the clip to

the driver to make him feel at ease.

Sometime later, Jerrod took out a second fire arm from his pocket.

He quickly loaded it and pulled the trigger three times.

He got out of the slow moving car and let it stop into a tree.

Then he checked

his prey.

Throughout the interview, the sheriff repeatedly seeks a motive as to what caused Jerrod to

do this.

He learns that Jerrod has absolutely no grudge with this person and only chose them after

playing video games together two weeks prior.

The sheriff searches for some shred of humanity in Jerrod but time and time again finds none.

He was found not guilty by reason of insanity and is now institutionalized.

On April 16, 2007 Seung-Hui Cho went on a rampage at Virginia Tech that ended the lives

of 32 students.

First he entered West Ambler Johnston Hall at around 7 in the morning and quickly ended

the lives of two students.

As emergency services and police arrived, the deranged student snuck away and changed

into clean clothes.

He went to the local post office and mailed a package to NBC News.

This is the video he sent shortly before going back on campus and ending the lives of over

two-dozen other innocent students later that day.

As you can see, his best attempt to logically explain himself comes out as a strange semi-religious

rant that is impossible for anyone to fully understand.

Even with a camera pointed directly at his face, he cannot clearly tell anyone why he

did this, though he seems desperate for the audience

to understand.

Selma: Crash Course Film Criticism #3 - Duration: 12:56.

Thanks to Curiosity Stream for supporting Crash Course.

In 1965, a brave and dedicated group of people were a part of one of the greatest non-violent

Civil Rights demonstrations in U.S. history.

Led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the march from Selma, Alabama to the state capitol of

Montgomery was a turning point in the fight for voting rights.

The march's organizers endured insults, threats, physical violence, self-doubt, internal

division, and even death in the struggle to guarantee access to the ballot box.

It took almost 60 years to bring that story to the screen.

And when Selma finally arrived in 2014, it was greeted with cheers and awards… along

with complaints and questions about its historical accuracy.

As film critics, our job is to apply different critical lenses to a film, to help us unlock

different meanings.

So critiquing a film like Selma through a framework of history is one way to do it,

but it's certainly not the only way to evaluate it as art.

[Intro Music Plays]

It took nearly a decade for Selma to get made.

The film's producers worked with a number of directors and sought funding from a lot

of sources before they hit upon the perfect combination of talent and vision in Ava DuVernay.

As a woman and a person of color, DuVernay stands out among modern American feature filmmakers.

She had only directed two small independent films before bringing her unique perspective

to Selma.

And, in fact, with Selma she became the first woman of color ever to direct a Best Picture nominee.

Which is… an honor, but also really depressing because it reveals a serious lack of inclusion

in Hollywood.

The American studio system has a long history of denying underrepresented voices positions

of power behind the camera and at the film studios who actually decide which movies get made.

Ava DuVernay has emerged as a leading figure pushing Hollywood to include women and people

of color a seat at those tables.

As she puts it, "There's a 'belonging' problem in Hollywood.

Change has to happen.

Inclusion is necessary for survival."

Written by Paul Webb, the script for Selma takes place over three months as Martin Luther

King, Jr., played by David Oyelowo, presses President Lyndon Johnson to pass the Voting Rights Act.

King: Now, you asked how you can help.

King: We want Federal legislation granting negros the right to vote unencumbered.

At the time, many state governments kept African-American citizens from registering to vote with administrative

hurdles, intimidation, and outright fraud.

We watch as King struggles to convince Johnson to do something about this problem, using

non-violent tactics to force his hand.

Not to mention, King is also navigating divisions within the Civil Rights movement and his own

strained marriage.

All while he's under constant FBI surveillance!

King's followers try three times to cross the now-infamous Edmund Pettus Bridge to start

their 54-mile march to Montgomery, Alabama.

During these attempts, the marchers are beaten, whipped, tear gassed, and in some cases killed.

It's only after this brutality is aired on national TV, that Johnson finally sends the Voting Rights

Act to Congress and the national guard to protect the marchers.

And the film ends with King's speech on the steps of the State House, along with one-sentence

subtitles explaining what key characters would go on to do.

Selma is a historical drama, and many of the film's critics honed in on the history,

comparing the events and people to their real life counterparts.

But as James L. Deutsch pointed out in The Journal of American History, there were many

historical films released in 2014 – from Unbroken and The Imitation Game, to Wild and

American Sniper.

And of those films, it was Selma that "sparked the most acrimonious debates in op-eds and

newspaper columns, radio and television talk shows, [and] the blogosophere."

He goes on to say, "This is not surprising, given the contentiousness that surrounds issues

of race in the twenty-first-century United States."

Now, used correctly, historical analysis is a perfectly valid way to evaluate a film.

As long as there have been movies and television depicting historical events, there have been

audiences who take them as pure fact.

So it's important for films to get at least some of those real life events right.

Stray too far and you can really mess up history in people's minds **cough cough** Braveheart

And Selma definitely does alter some history

in favor of drama at times.

For one thing, the film changes the order of key events.

It opens with King accepting the Nobel Peace Prize.

And we listen to his acceptance speech over a transition to a new scene, where children

are descending a stairway only to be killed by a bomb.

Now, both these events happened, but the film leads us to believe they happened close to

the same time.

In real life, though, the bombing took place more than a year before King spoke in Oslo.

Other critics point to the scenes between President Johnson and Dr. King, suggesting

that the film doesn't give Johnson enough credit for supporting voting rights.

Johnson: Well Dr. King, you've certainly given me something to think about...

Johnson: ...but, this administration is going to set this aside for a while.

The film also suggests that the events of Bloody Sunday were broadcast live across the

country, as Alabama State Troopers brutalized the peaceful marchers on their first attempt

to cross the bridge out of Selma.

DuVernay intercuts this violence with shots of horrified viewers in living rooms throughout the U.S.

But, in reality, the national news didn't broadcast the attack until five hours later.

Much of the nation did react, they just didn't do it in real time.

So does Selma take liberties with the facts of history?

For sure.

After all, it's a dramatic interpretation of that history.

If you think adapting a novel is tough, just try adapting reality into a movie.

How things happen, when things happen, and where things happen in life are genuinely

cluttered and difficult to fit into a linear narrative.

To condense all of that into a 2 hour experience that not only makes sense but is emotionally

potent is more than a little challenging.

Which also brings up another point.

Films, even most documentaries, aren't intended to be a list of events as they happened, devoid

of emotional impact.

They are intended to move us, and move us from a perspective.

Usually, the director's perspective.

And when a film gets right as many events as Selma does, a purely historical analysis

doesn't seem like the most useful form of film criticism to evaluate it.

There's a school of thought that says the first few minutes of a well-constructed movie

will teach us how to watch it, so we can start by delving into those first scenes.

The film opens with King's words spoken over a black screen.

It's not the booming voice of his most famous speeches.

It's soft, low, and almost tentative.

King: I accept this honor for our lost ones. Whose deaths pave our path.

The first shot is a close-up of King facing the camera in a dark room, practicing a speech,

and doing a terrible job of tying an ascot.

Then his wife, Coretta Scott King, played by Carmen Ejogo, enters the room.

She helps him tie the ascot, and we get an intimate view of their relationship.

The lighting is dark and the framing is relatively still, isolating these two as they struggle

to balance their work, their public personas, and their marriage.

In the next scene, King receives his Nobel Peace Prize.

DuVernay now uses more traditionally heroic angles, keeping us slightly lower than King

and craning up, making him seem larger than life, the public figure of popular myth.

These scenes give us two different Kings, one private – introspective and doubting

– and one public – confident and majestic.

Finally, the third scene gives us those kids walking down the church stairs.

When the bomb goes off, it rips through the wall, cutting them off mid-sentence.

The violence is unexpected and immediate.

It's shocking.

Then, DuVernay does something interesting.

As the explosion blows apart both brick and flesh, she slows the images down until they're

almost abstract.

It becomes difficult to tell people from objects as they whirl across the screen, crossfading

into one another in slow motion.

This extends the horror, but also suggests that the aftermath of this kind of racist

violence will last much longer than the bomb itself.

This third scene also underlines the main duality of the film – the collision of private

and public spaces.

This intimate childhood moment is invaded by a terrorist's explosive.

And these themes show up again and again throughout the rest of the film.

The framing of that first shot, with King squared off to the camera, is repeated often

– from King and his aides to regular people joining the march.

By presenting their characters boldly, unapologetically, facing off with us, DuVernay and her cinematographer

Bradford Young reinforce the idea that this movie is about people demanding their dignity

in the face of both incredible violence and apathy.

This film also keeps exploring the juxtaposition of private and public spaces.

In intimate moments, DuVernay's King lowers his guard and shares his fears.

These scenes are almost always shot at night, in houses, churches, and jail cells.

In an early scene, King makes a late-night phone call to gospel singer Mahalia Jackson

after an emotional low-point.

She sings "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" as King gathers strength, alone, in his dark

kitchen.

Echoing that scene much later, King goes for a midnight drive with John Lewis, one of his

youngest supporters, and expresses grave doubts about their mission.

This time, instead of a song, Lewis speaks about his own experience being inspired by

King and urges him to continue on his path.

Lewis: The next day, I found myself patched up, and sittin' in a church.

Lewis: Barely hold my head up, but I needed to be there. You were gonna be speaking.

This public-private juxtaposition is also embodied in David Oyelowo's performance.

King's physicality and vocal cadence change depending on his audience.

From restrained but firm with Johnson, to soft and anguished with Coretta, and righteous

before the microphones.

This version of King is a close examination of what it means – and what it costs – for

people of color to code switch, or change their style of presentation to fit the moment.

That said, no space was totally private for King, either.

At key points throughout the movie, subtitles on the screen give us notes from the FBI surveillance

logs with details about King's movements, visitors, and phone calls.

It's a chilling reminder that even his most intimate moments are being monitored.

The examination of public and private space comes up in scenes without King, too.

Oprah Winfrey plays Annie Lee Cooper, a character who tries to register to vote.

She approaches the county clerk who humiliates and threatens her, before finally denying

her application – for the fifth time!

The message is clear: public spaces in this part of the South were effectively off-limits

to a big chunk of the population.

Political figures like President Johnson and the George Wallace, the white supremacist

governor of Alabama, also privately struggle with their own doubts in interior scenes – but

always during the daytime.

They have power, the movie tells us.

The question for them is how they're going to use it.

In the film's climactic moments, these public and private spaces finally collide and are

punctuated by destruction.

When an Alabama State Trooper shoots an unarmed black man, or thugs beat to death a white

pastor from Boston, DuVernay again slows the action.

She forces us to endure the violence and contemplate its aftermath.

Both these acts of violence take place at night, which the film has already coded as

private space.

But then DuVernay breaks this pattern to depict the Bloody Sunday violence, again in slow

motion, when marchers were beaten on the Edmund Pettus Bridge.

It takes place in broad daylight, under the watchful eye of television cameras.

And this is where the film crosscuts between the public violence and the folks at home

– in their private spaces – recoiling in horror.

Even though it breaks the historical chronology, intercutting these events completes the theme

of the movie, thrusting the usually private pain and violence into the glaring light of

public scrutiny.

Once again, DuVernay is using the tools of cinema here – shots, cuts, and sound – to

reinforce her film's message in subtle and sophisticated ways.

There are lots of other things to say about Selma, on matters from race and class, to

gender equity and social justice.

But almost all of it can be read in terms of this tension between public and private

spaces and the ways people inhabit them.

DuVernay brings Martin Luther King Jr. down to earth, revealing his human struggles.

And then, in the last low-angle medium shot of his speech in Montgomery, she returns King

to his mythic status as one of the great American leaders of the 20th century.

While she hasn't stuck directly to the historical record, she has made an enduring and resonant

portrait of an American hero.

Next time, we'll turn back the clock to tackle Where Are My Children, a much older

film that wrestles with some surprisingly modern themes.

BREAKING!! Trump Just Received HIGHEST Honor! He Just Beat Out President Ronald Reagan! - Duration: 5:24.

BREAKING!! Trump Just Received HIGHEST Honor!

He Just Beat Out President Ronald Reagan!

According to the highly prestigious conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation, President

Donald Trump has done a remarkable job during the first year of his presidency.

His accomplishments are surprisingly a lot better than the American Conservative icon

that was President Ronald Reagan!

The heritage foundation is rightly so calling President Donald Trump the most conservative

president they have ever rated.

And after the eight disastrous and downright anti-American liberal years of Barack Hussein

Obama, this is very positive news for both the fiscal and social future of our nation.

After each liberal Presidential Administration, the Heritage foundation begins developing

a list policies that a new Republican administration could adopt if he were to win.

In 2016 this list included a variety of initiatives.

Some of which included reimposing work requirements for welfare recipients, ending the DACA program

which shields young illegal aliens brought here illegally as children, withdrawing from

the disastrous and one-sided Paris climate accord, eliminating certain unfair gender

identity protections, appointing conservative judges and gutting the heart of Obamacare

by removing the individual and employer mandate.

President Trump is a master at success according to his first year as President.

In a statement, this week The Heritage foundation confirmed that President Trump has checked

off 64 percent of those items which were on the 2016 list.

Most of which were enacted either executive order or other means of enforcement.

They even went as far as to include President Trump's budget which was great but never

voted on by Congress.

Via The Heritage Foundation:

"Trump Administration Embraces Heritage Foundation Policy Recommendations January

23rd, 2018

One year after taking office, President Donald Trump and his administration have adopted

nearly two-thirds of the policy recommendations from The Heritage Foundation's "Mandate

for Leadership."

The "Mandate for Leadership" series includes five individual publications, totaling approximately

334 unique policy recommendations.

Analysis completed by Heritage determined that 64 percent of the policy prescriptions

were included in Trump's budget, implemented through regulatory guidance, or under consideration

for action in accordance with The Heritage Foundation's original proposals.

"President Trump had an extraordinarily successful first year," says Thomas Binion,

director of congressional and executive branch relations at The Heritage Foundation.

"He put a conservative on the Supreme Court and he enacted historic pro-growth tax reform.

This analysis demonstrates the lesser-known policy success that his administration has

been fighting hard to enact."

Heritage Foundation research analysts began developing the policy recommendations in 2016

during the presidential campaign with the following principles in mind: free enterprise,

limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.

With approximately 70 former Heritage employees working for the Trump transition team or as

part of the administration, the policy recommendations have served as guidelines for reducing the

size and scope of the federal government through specific and detailed actions.

The first "Mandate for Leadership" was released in January 1981, containing policy

proposals of reform that would make government more efficient and effective.

President Ronald Reagan distributed Heritage's book at his first Cabinet meeting.

"As President Reagan did in the 1980s," Binion said, "President Trump has embraced

the comprehensive recommendations made in the 'Mandate for Leadership.'

These achievements have led to economic growth, a stronger national defense, and a restoration

of the rule of law."

Over the past several months, Heritage's executive branch relations staff reviewed

the 334 policy recommendations and met with senior administration officials in the several

agencies.

Heritage analysts briefed administration officials on the recommendations, provided additional

insight and information, and advocated for reform.

By contrast, during Reagan's first year in office, Reagan can only claim 49 percent

of Heritage's wish list were checked off.

This is excellent news and a big slap in the face to the so-called conservative leaders

who to this day call themselves #neverTrumpers but who claim to pray at the altar of former

President Ronald Reagan.

This proves all of them were nothing more than just peons for the establishment and

the swamp all along.

They never cared about conservatism, all they cared about was keeping the gravy train going

and maintaining the status quo alive.

Maybe they just went with the flow of things to save their job and didn't care about

politics?

Please share if you are proud to support President Trump.

Trump Just Pissed Everyone Off With The AWESOME New Picture That Went Up In White House!! - Duration: 4:12.

Trump Just Pissed Everyone Off With The AWESOME New Picture That Went Up In White House!!

The White House is filled with historical pieces and artifacts that represent our nation's

history, but perhaps none are so controversial as what President Donald Trump just donned

the walls of the West Wing with today.

Among the painted pieces of notable figures in our nation's history, is a new framed

piece of work that comes with a clear message that cannot be ignored.

Now, idiots everywhere are infuriated about what our leader had the guts to put up that

we're pretty sure his supporters are going to love.

The First Family is getting comfortable in their new home, just as the Obamas did in

their disrespectful way that nobody seemed to have a problem with.

When Trump moved in and began putting his personal touch on the People's House, all

hell broke loose with accusations of tactless taste that his predecessor never got when

hosting rappers and their wives.

Whether people agree or disagree with what our President just put on the walls, he had

the right to celebrate his victory in the way he chose to decorate.

The White House isn't just a place where the president lives, it's a monument that

represents milestones in leadership throughout our nation's history.

Perhaps not a single leader has been so controversial as our current Commander-in-Chief who overcame

all odds to call this place home.

Because of that, he has every right to document this incredible feat with a framed piece that

shows exactly how that happened.

The media tried to portray that Trump's opposition, Hillary Clinton, had a huge lead

in the presidential race.

However, one picture proved that wrong, which has now become the West Wing's latest and

perhaps most extraordinary piece of artwork.

Trump didn't become president by a mere margin — he won by a landslide of votes

where it counted most.

The Electoral College is the deciding vote and the now infamous image of which way each

area of every state went has become its own modern art on display in the White House,

and for good reason.

Trey Yingst was among the first to spot this new display and seemingly without realizing

the can of controversy he was opening with this Tweeted picture of it, he simply stated,

" Spotted: a map to be hung somewhere in the West Wing."

The image of the Electoral College Map from the election Trump swept in 2016 accompanied

his sentiment and infuriated idiots around the country who couldn't fathom why Trump

would display such a thing.

It's unknown at what point these Democratic degenerates forgot who they were talking about

— thinking that somehow it was out of character for Trump to gloat.

When it's his right to do so by having earned it through honest means and against all odds,

he should display that victory since it sends a message about what America is all about.

Trump was truthful in his lead and the media was not, however, this is photo proof of that

bias and that the American dream can be accomplished despite any adversary against you, and needs

to be displayed for that reason..

Perhaps the most humorous part of the outrage over this imagery in the West Wing is that

the same people who publicly express how tasteless and gross it is, in their opinion, were in

support of a wife using the desk her husband received disgusting sexual favors at during

his time in office.

I think what it comes down to is that the truth hurts and no matter how much some people

in America hate Trump, they can't deny that he legitimately painted the country red in

approval of him.

It's often said that "a picture says a thousand words" but this one speaks volumes

beyond that.

Trump beat supposed frontrunner Hillary Clinton by far more than a thousand Electoral College

votes.

This wasn't just a victory for him, but for the American people who were heard and

deserve to have the piece of our country's history commemorated on the wall of the White

House.

Every little girl and boy in America with a dream to make a difference and become president

one day can do that, just like Trump did as a non-career politician.

That's significant and part of what makes America great.

BREAKING News!! IT'S BEEN CONFIRMED!! They All Just LIED...ENJOY PRISON!! - Duration: 11:20.

BREAKING News!!

IT'S BEEN CONFIRMED!!

They All Just LIED...ENJOY PRISON!!

Politicians and voters alike have been waiting for weeks now to see the results of the congressional

probe into the FBI.

This came about because Democrats insisted that there needed to be an investigation into

the Trump campaign, to try proving that he conspired with a foreign government to win

the election.

There was even a supposedly unbiased investigator put in charge of it.

That investigation has turned up quite a bit of dirt, just not on who the DNC wanted it

to be on.

In fact, the liberal brass in the FBI has been put under the microscope, now that much

of their private correspondence has been placed on public record.

The apparent anti-Trump bias was shocking to many who still held hope that law enforcement

was unbiased.

The heat has been on FBI official Peter Strzok, and his messages exchanged with Lisa Page.

Strzok was in an alleged affair with Page.

The initial information dump was incriminating enough, but when the Congress discovered that

months of subpoenaed texts and emails were missing.

The collective hackles of the congressional branch stood up, and the nation wanted to

know what they were hiding.

While this is still very much an evolving story, according to The Gateway Pundit, investigators

now say that there's no way there was a glitch like the FBI claimed.

They suggest that this was an intentional indiscretion on the part of the FBI:

"Judicial Watch Chief Investigator Chris Farrell told Lou Dobbs on Wednesday he spoke

with three different FBI officials who disputed the claims by the DOJ and Deep State officials

that the Peter Strzok – Lisa Page phone messages were lost in a "glitch" is a

complete lie.

This weekend the FBI released 50,000 text messages between top FBI Investigator Peter

Strzok and his mistress and top FBI Attorney Lisa Page.

But the FBI told Congress thousands of text messages between the two agents were deleted

during a five-month period from December 2016 to May 2017.

The premier international intelligence agency said they lost them.

The FBI "lost" five months of text messages between Chief FBI Investigator Peter Strzok

and his mistress and FBI Attorney Lisa Page.

Chris Farrell from Judicial Watch says his FBI contacts (not part of the Deep State)

say it is impossible to believe the phone glitch excuse.

Chris Farrell: Meanwhile I have talked to three FBI agents who told me this whole lost

text message thing with Samsung is absolute baloney.

That there is no way in the world this could have happened.

That the FBI actively monitors agents' communications both from an insider threat and a counter-intelligence

prospective.

And that their back-ups had back-ups.

So three different sources have told me there's no way in hell that it's possible, that

someone is deliberately sabotaging this or deliberately deleting or lying.

The evidence is compelling that the FBI tried to keep information from those in charge of

investigating the situation.

It makes sense that this would be an unfamiliar situation for the FBI to be in.

Usually, they're the ones doing the poking around.

However, that also dictates that they're very familiar with the rules and how to follow

them…or how to break the rules.

There's a distinct possibility that they're trying to protect more than just their own.

As Freedom Daily reported, the missing messages could implicate a lot of people.

It makes sense that the people who might be in trouble would be a little secretive about

them:

According to Fox News, an exchange from July 1, 2016, revealed that days after it was discovered

that then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch had a meeting with Bill Clinton on a Phoenix airport

tarmac, Lynch knew there would be no charges filed in the investigation.

The exchange came after Lynch said she would accept the findings of the FBI in

the matter.

'Timing looks like hell,' Strzok said in a text to Page.

'Yeah, that is awful timing,' Page said.

'It's a real profile in courage (sic), since she knows no charges will be brought.'

The texts were among 384 pages of messages from Strzrok and Page that were turned over

to the Senate Homeland Security Committee.

However, FBI officials notified committee chairman Sen. Rob Johnson of Wisconsin that

texts between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017, were

lost

by the bureau.

'The Department

wants to bring to your attention that the FBI's technical system for retaining text

messages sent and received on FBI mobile devices failed to preserve text messages for Mr. Strzok

and Ms. Page."

The United States is in the middle of a battle for truth and justice.

If we lose, then we might not ever get our hands on transparency and accountability again.

Let's hope and pray that we win.

Commercial Airlines Continue To Steal From Passengers - Duration: 8:05.

Southwest Airlines has agreed to pay $15 million to settle the class action lawsuit that they

say they conspired with other companies to artificially increase ticket prices.

They also agreed to cooperate and turn against their co-defendants by providing information

that may show they, in fact, worked together to rip off customers in a very, very big way.

Joining me to talk about this is correspondent Brigida Santos.

Brigida, what is this lawsuit alleging, and how did it come about?

What a great victory, even though the numbers are small.

I would imagine this probably is a $100 million kind of case.

Give me your take on this.

This lawsuit alleges that the nation's top four airlines, Southwest, Delta, American,

and United, illegally conspired to hold down passenger capacity numbers in order to increase

ticket prices.

They did this at a time when fuel prices were typically lower.

Now, the plaintiffs allege that this scheme dates back to 2009.

In 2015, the Department of Justice began looking into it, and in 2016, that's when all of these

private, individual passenger lawsuits were consolidated into one class action lawsuit,

Mike.

You know, it's funny, it's always true.

There is no honor among thuggery and thieves.

In what ways will Southwest cooperate in admitting their guilt?

In other words, they're going to have to give something up.

They've got to tell, "These are the people we committed this scam with.

This is how we did it."

I've got to think there's more involved here.

Southwest is the first defendant to settle, and they have agreed to pay that $15 million

fine.

Now, in terms of admitting guilt, however, a spokesperson says, quote, "We did not enter

into any unlawful agreements with other airlines against which we compete vigorously.

This settlement does not constitute any admission of wrongdoing, and we're entering into it

to avoid considerable distraction and expense of class action litigation."

They have on the record that they're not admitting guilt.

They're paying this fine to avoid the hassle of it, but they do have to, as you said, turn

against the other three airlines, and provide a full account of the facts that could help

build a case against the others.

We don't know what they're going to say, but I'm sure they're going to be giving up as

much information as they can here, Mike.

Yeah.

You know, I've been handling these kinds of cases for so long, and it's always the same

story.

"Yeah, we're going to pay the $15 million, but you know, we really didn't do anything

wrong.

Oh, by the way, we don't want to admit anything."

When we settle cases on our end, we don't take that route.

Part of the settlement should make them have to agree to the fact that, A, they did something

improper and illegal, and B, they should have to turn over evidence against other people

who participated.

This line, it's almost like the first corporate line that comes out.

"Oh, we just paid because we just didn't want to be bothered with all that."

That's nonsense.

No company gives up $15 million unless they've done exactly what they've been accused of.

A Politico report says a series of airline mergers began in 2008.

How did those mergers benefit the airline companies, and is it possible that those mergers

empowered companies to pull off this scheme, or any type of scheme that adds profits to

their company at the expense of consumers?

What's your take on that?

These mergers allowed these four companies being sued here to basically control 80% of

US commercial air space, while also eliminating unprofitable flights to any mid-sized or smaller

hubs at the travelers' expense.

Of course, when you have mergers, it takes away competition, which ultimately could empower

these companies to come up with a scheme, because let's say one executive from one of

these airlines only has to now convince executives from three other airlines to get behind this

scheme, as opposed to many others.

It's very possible that mergers like this empower them to make these bad decisions.

Well, you know, Brigida, you know there are all types of scams.

I don't know if you've done this.

I'd recommend to viewers, watch this next time.

Go online and say, "I want to buy a ticket," in a specific route.

Wait 15 minutes.

Don't buy it the first time, and then go back on 15 minutes later and watch the number continue

to climb.

What they do is they figure out, "This person's made an inquiry.

We can probably close this deal, but at the same time, we're going to raise prices."

This is what all the companies are doing right now.

It's infuriating.

I mean, you're on at 1:00, and the price of a ticket is $500.

You're on at 1:15 and the price of the ticket has doubled.

This is something that we see the airlines doing.

That's the next thing that's coming down.

It's probably part of what we're talking about here, but I think there's a whole standalone

case there.

Look, ripping off travelers by raising ticket prices is nothing new.

We know that.

Can you talk about the case where airlines were ordered to pay more than a billion dollars

after they were caught conspiring to jack up prices to cover their losses?

Talk about that, Brigida.

You covered that.

Yes.

We have seen this before, and in fact, between 2000 and 2006, 21 airlines came together to

save a dying industry that was deeply in debt by colluding against the public, and raising

cargo fuel charges, and inflating passenger fees as well.

In some cases, fuel charges went up by 1,000%.

Now, they duped the American public out of hundreds of millions of dollars, and they

were ordered to pay $1.7 billion in fines.

Now, this only came to light because executives from two airlines, Lufthansa and Virgin Atlantic,

came forward to the Department of Justice admitting this.

If they had not admitted to doing this, then it would likely be continuing, but even with

that ending, we now have this newer case, Mike, so we've seen this before.

Yeah, and we're going to see it again and again, til people continue going after these

people.

I mean, it's a criminal con.

It's criminal conduct, for goodness' sake.

All elements of fraud exist here.

Look, very quickly, a startup recently tried to combat high airfare prices by monitoring

Southwest price and alerting consumers when prices dropped.

Southwest has now sued that startup company, because they're giving people notice of when

they can buy the best tickets.

Can you tell me what the status of that lawsuit is?

That lawsuit is ongoing.

It's a company called Southwest Monkey.

Two guys started this company, and they built a website called SWMonkey.com.

Consumers could pay a $3 fee in order to get email alerts anytime Southwest reduced their

prices, or reduced their mileage requirements for tickets.

Now, Southwest does allow its consumers to re-buy tickets at a lower price, and save

the difference as a travel credit for future travel.

They already allow people to do this.

These guys were just alerting customers easily, compiling that data for them, and now Southwest

says it has cost them $5,000.

This was a program that was only in place for a small amount of time before they were

told to shut it down.

Really, the interesting question about this case is that it's bringing up the issue of

whether airlines' airfare is public information or not, Mike.

Just another case of guys dressed up in suits who are still criminals, no matter the fact

that they don't look like criminals.

Thanks for joining me, Brigida.

I appreciate it.

Anytime.

Roblox How to Pass the Hilton Hotel Interview - Duration: 6:50.

Hey guys.

It's E3k0D0ll here, and today, I'm going to be showing you how to get a job at the Hilton

Hotel.

Now, look at all these people.

There's like, fifty of them...You may be wondering, "How do I get a job if there are fifty other

people also seeking jobs here?

Is it impossible to get a job here?

Am I not good enough?"

Stop thinking like that, because it IS possible, and you ARE good enough.

All I'm asking you to do, is follow these steps that I am going to recommend to you,

and you may get that job you've always wanted.

Ok guys, let's start with tip number one.

So my first tip to you, is to look at the schedule for interview sessions.

There are people who wait here for HOURS not knowing when the next interview is going to

be.

Do not waste your time.

I mean nobody wants to waste their time just sitting for hours doing nothing.

The website that I'm using here is very accurate and it will start you up on the right place.

Another thing I recommend, is to look up your time zone if you don't know it.

Say an interview is scheduled at a particular time, but in EST or PST, and you are not in

either of those timezones, then, you have to use the Time Zone Converter because it

will convert you local time to the time the interview session is under.

I will also put a link in the description to The Time Zone Converter, so that you can

convert your time if a certain interview session is not in your timezone.

Ok guys, the place that I am showing you right now, is the Training Center.

The only way to get here, is to pass the interview test.

That, is what I am going to show you, right now.

After an admin finally shows up, the session begins, and this message also shows up.

A variety of messages actually show up, introducing you to the host or hostess and to how the

first part of the interview is going to go down.

Now let me just say that this first part, is definitely an elimination process.

This whole interview is going to be about grammar.

For those of you who are not adept at grammar, punctuation, and at typing fast accurately,

you will have to practice for this.

I mean, I know it may seem like, "Oh, it's Roblox, it's no big deal," but these guys

take it seriously, so therefore, you have to take it seriously.

Because this is the case, let me show you what I have done that has made me successful

when I did an interview like this.

The first thing I do is, I visit the Hilton Hotel Information Portal.

It gives me access to the Hilton Hotel rules and guidelines, job information and tasks,

training guide, and as well as the interview questions.

When I click on the interview questions, all of the questions that will be presented to

me during the interview will pop up.

I like to highlight these, and then copy and paste them into my notes.

After this point, I practice responding to each question.

I try my best to memorize this in order to get a general idea of what I am going to say

during the interview.

Now guys, I want to say, that copying and pasting your answers during your interview,

is not the way to go.

The first time I actually was interviewed I did this, and...these guys are good at their

job.

I was doing it because I wanted to see if they would actually catch me.

I wanted to see how effective this method was, and it's just...it's not really worth

it you guys.

The worst thing that could possibly happen when you cheat, is that you get banned from

the server and you are never able to reenter the server again.

So, just don't cheat, try your best to memorize.

That's what everybody else is trying to do.

Keep practicing because practice, makes perfect.

The first thing they will do, is throw something like this in your face, and your job is to

correct the sentence.

Answer this to the best of your ability and as accurately as you can.

This is the ultimate elimination process.

I have seen forty-six of fifty people get eliminated, with only four remaining.

Guys, you have to be careful here, and you have to try as best you can to correct this

sentence.

Just watch the person next to me.

One moment she's here, and the next she's gone.

Everybody that gets it wrong is just automatically eliminated.

If you pass you have to move to the opposite side of where I am currently sitting.

Now that all the remaining people are here, they then give you some instructions for the

second part of the interview.

I am now going to show you the questions that are presented to me.

This is so that you get a general feel, for what the interview is going to be like.

Sadly, I cannot do anything else more than this because, the people that are interviewing

me, would like my answers to be kept to myself.

Honestly, I did give some more personal responses.

So please, at least enjoy the fact that I am presenting this information to you, and

ultimately, showing you the questions so that you are 100% prepared.

If you pass the interview, then the person that was interviewing you will say something

like, "Congratulations."

Also, you will have to go through training sessions, which are on a completely different

server after this, and the training sessions are something that you can redo and try again

if you fail.

It's kind of like the interview thing, where, if you fail it, then you can always go back

and redo it.

You are going to have to look at the schedule again, and see when the training sessions

are, because they are scheduled at different times.

Alright guys, so those are my tips.

Please be careful.

Please try you best, and you will do great, and get the job you've always wanted.

Thank you guys for watching this video.

Don't forget to like or subscribe if you liked what you saw.

You support always helps me to be inspired to create more content for you guys.

Thank you guys so much, and I'll see you in the next video.

Michael, Construction Business Owner Part 2 - How I got my job and where I'm going - Duration: 2:51.

I'm Michael Walker, I'm 25 years old.

I have two different jobs, I run my own company,

which is Walker Wilderness Enterprises,

which builds tiny houses and hunting cabins.

And I also work for a large equipment auctioneer company.

I went to college at the University of Colorado Boulder

and I studied environmental studies there.

Decided when I was getting out of college

that it really wasn't for me,

I didn't really like some of the jobs

that were some of the starting jobs with that.

So I started my own business from there.

And when I was you know,

starting my business I needed another income as well,

and so I got a job at the auction house as well.

As the owner of Walker Wilderness

some of the things I needed to start it

were the passion to start the company,

the idea of the company

and some financial backing, so capital for starting it.

For the containers, I learned quite a bit on YouTube.

Comparing different videos

and how different people did things

and how I thought the best way to do it was.

And then also, my wife's father was

in construction and did drywall,

and he knew a lot of different contractors.

And they would come and help show me a couple of pointers

and I had them,

I went to a couple different job sites with him

just to look at how things were

and talk with different contractors on how they did things

and what their opinions were on how I was doing something.

And then for my auctioneer company that I work for,

I just needed to know some things about equipment

and kinda have a mechanical background.

And from there they had their own little training program

that I went through to really become fully qualified

to do the inspections.

So growth opportunities for both jobs,

first for Walker Wilderness, I think the sky's the limit

in terms of where to go from here.

But I just have to really reach out and do more marketing

and contact clients and really understand what they want

so that I can, you know get the job from them,

and then build more and more containers

and get the word out.

And then for my auctioneer company,

the growth there would just moving up the ladder

in terms of being a manager of inspectors

or going into sales.

So for getting into a company like Walker Wilderness

I think you have to follow your passion

and hone the skills you need for your passion,

and sell your passion.

And then I would say for a pitfall,

don't spend money right off the bat.

Try to figure out how you can keep money in the business

before you start just spending it all right at the start.

Julia, Registered Nurse Part 2 - How I got my job and where I'm going - Duration: 7:25.

I grew up on a farm next to my grandparents.

Of course, I lived with my parents,

but my grandmother was a nurse, and so I was first

introduced by nursing by my grandmother

who was an OR supervisor.

And I always was very interested in the compassion

of caring for somebody.

And I got to do that with my great-grandmother,

younger cousins, and so just caring for people

in general was kind of ingrained in me as a child.

I entered college with the intent of going into medicine.

I didn't end up becoming a medical doctor,

as I had initially planned.

Family members and people that I had shadowed with over time

said, "You know, being a physician as a woman

"is kind of hard in this country, even though things

"are changing.

"If you want to have a family, it's a very hard career."

And I learned that from female physicians,

and I guess I took their advice,

and I'm really glad I need.

I ended up going into nursing

against my grandmother's wishes,

and I initially started that journey,

I started at University of Colorado with the intent

of going to medical school, so I got a history degree,

thinking that would set me apart.

And I never ended up taking the MCATs.

Instead, I applied for nursing school

and got a second bachelor's degree.

So in nursing school, you learn a lot of different things.

You not only learn about the physiology and anatomy,

the pathophysiology, pharmacology of nursing,

but you also learn the softer side of nursing.

So you do a lot of social sciences as well.

To get a degree in nursing, you typically have to have

some sort of psychology education,

teaching education even, sometimes that's involved

in programs.

Community service is a big one, too.

A lot of nursing programs require that you do service

in order to give back to your community,

to understand that you're not always taking.

You're not going to your job to take home a paycheck.

Of course, that's why we do it, but in nursing,

you have to have a little bit more of an edge

to why you're doing it every single day.

So my bachelor's program for nursing was 11 months long,

and it was at school actually, so none of it

was online.

So I went to school three days a week,

and then I was in the hospital two days,

so a total of five days, sometimes six.

And then in 11 months I was finished,

and I was taking our state boards in order to practice.

You have to study so much for the NCLEX boards,

and it's terrifying, and you walk out of there,

and you feel like you didn't pass.

Everybody says that.

Most of us do.

Most of us do.

After that, I had to go through the job hunt,

just like everybody else, and it was stressful.

It is very hard to know that you have so much to bring

and get denied constantly.

I had a 4.0 GPA in nursing school, and I sent out

over 20 applications and got denied around 15 times.

And it's defeating.

It is exhausting, it's time-consuming, and it makes you feel

pretty rotten about yourself, but nonetheless the right

thing does come along, and it did for me.

I worked in an outpatient specialty clinic,

which I really enjoyed.

I worked there about a year and a half.

I ended up becoming a manager towards the end

of my time there, and then realized that I wanted

to be a nurse practitioner.

So in order to become a nurse practitioner,

and the best nurse practitioner I possibly could be,

I realized I needed acute care experience

to really hone in on those critical thinking skills.

So then I ended up moving towards the critical care unit.

So the job that I'm currently in, I got through networking,

actually, which is huge in any field, really,

but also in healthcare.

I got it through a family member, actually,

and fortunately this critical care unit

was willing to take on someone that doesn't have

previous critical care experience, outside of school,

that is.

You do get some in school.

I was there for about a year, and then I had a baby,

and I took quite a chunk of time off.

I decided with my husband that raising our child

and having Mommy home with her constantly

was more important, so I'm taking time off right now.

Fortunately, I had a wonderful boss who said

that when I'm ready to come back, she will have

a position for me, and I'm very grateful for that.

So there's so many opportunities for growth in nursing.

Whether you want to stay at the bedside,

which is working at a hospital.

You can move up to a charge nurse position,

management, administrative roles.

Nursing informatics is actually a huge field

in which nurses are getting into with the electronic

medical records system, trying to make those

more seamless for nurses and providers to use.

There's also the clinical side of things

where you can get a master's degree or doctorate degree

and become a nurse practitioner

and basically wear the same shoes as a physician might,

just from the nursing perspective.

There's a lot of opportunity for growth in nursing,

which is why it's such a wonderful profession.

So my long-term aspiration in nursing

is to become a nurse practitioner.

I'm currently in graduate school.

I'm doing classes online right now

while I'm taking care of baby,

and I hope to become a nurse practitioner

probably working with children.

That's my goal.

My specific field that I'm studying in

is family practice, so you can really go anywhere

with that degree, whereas other master's degrees

focus primarily on pediatrics, gerontology or older adults,

or even sub-specialties, like acute medicine,

things like that.

So I hope to be a nurse practitioner,

maybe have some normal hours, not work at night.

Come home and cook dinner with my family

and not have to work Christmas day.

That would be really nice, too.

So if you're in high school, and you're interested

in nursing, go get a job or volunteer in some capacity

in which you are caring for people,

whether you become a nanny.

That's the route I took, actually,

is I did childcare all through college

and worked at a daycare.

You can become a CNA after, I think, age 16.

It kind of varies between states,

but you can become a CNA or a Certified Nurse Assistant,

where you can work in hospitals or retirement facilities,

where you're really focusing on the softer side

of human care, bathing, bed changes, things like that.

That really helps you have an edge up on other applicants

into nursing school, if you can show

that you've already had hands-on patient experience.

And I think the biggest pitfall to avoid

is once you get into nursing school, and you're on the floor

doing your nursing school shifts, don't let

the older nurses walk over you.

That's really common in nursing, and we're really trying

to get away from it, but just take what the nurse says

with a grain of salt if it's very negative and move on.

If you're in nursing or if you've chosen nursing,

you're there for a reason, I'm guessing,

because it's not the easiest profession,

but it's a calling, and so if you feel called,

you should do it.

Start. - Duration: 4:50.

My name is Chris, and I'm a filmmaker.

I'm starting my channel because I love filmmaking,

and I love telling stories.

I honestly don't know exactly where I'm going

and it's not just because I'm driving a way I don't normally drive.

I just know that my channel's going to be about

story.

Directly or indirectly everything, well,

everything is a story.

So, imagine this:

A young girl, all alone in a strange land,

has no idea where she is, or where she needs to go.

She meets all sorts of interesting, odd characters.

There may or may not have been some drugs

or some sort of altering substances involved.

[wind blowing]

[footsteps] She was lost at every turn.

Finally, she finds a character

who she thinks can help her.

Or, at least, he's willing to converse.

But, of course, this character is only mildly helpful.

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"

"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,"

said the Cat.

"I don't much care where—" said Alice.

"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat

"—so long as I get somewhere ,"

Alice added as an explanation.

[wind blowing]

"Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat,

"if you only walk long enough."

[footsteps]

So in case you couldn't tell,

that was from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

For too long, when it comes to video and telling stories,

I've wished and I've hoped and I've dreamed,

and I've started and I've stopped

and I've dabbled.

But this is me walking.

Creating regularly,

filming, telling stories,

and just

making films.

I don't know everything my channel will entail,

but everything will revolve around filmmaking and story.

Some of it will be like this,

talking about story.

Some of it will be actual story,

like short films and such.

And some of it might be

behind the scenes or tutorials,

or the making of stories.

I have a full time job.

I have a wife. I have kids.

But telling stories with video is my passion.

I don't do it nearly enough,

so this is me giving myself permission

to tell stories with video.

One of the goals of my channel is to,

to tell stories regularly

and just work on the craft of filmmaking.

So this is me making something.

Forcing myself to be consistent in storytelling

and not letting my dreams and goals

fall by the wayside.

I love storytelling and I love filmmaking.

I can't say exactly where I'm going,

but I hope you'll come along for the ride.

Because I think

everything is a story.

I'm Will Jones.

This is "DPS News Now".

This week we're at McAuliffe International where school and district leaders announced

plans to help schools increase diversity while still serving their communities.

The district is providing greater access to high-performing schools for students from

low-income families.

An enrollment pilot that started two years ago is being expanded for fall 2018.

Superintendent Tom Boasberg: "And we've heard very strongly about how important diverse

schools are."

And, two of the city's most sought-after schools…

McAuliffe and East High School… are just a couple of the 24 schools that are participating

in the program.

Marisol Enriquez, Inspire Elementary School Principal: "We welcome the opportunity to

continue and build on this diverse community."

To make it more convenient for families to learn about their school options…

DPS held five regional school expos throughout the city.

Families had the chance to meet with school leaders… find out which schools might be

a good fit for their students… and learn about the SchoolChoice process.

Six of the Best Summer Reads - Duration: 8:09.

I'm sharing six of the best books to put on your summer reading list

you've got your manicure your pedicure maybe swimsuit and now you just need to

know which books to read whether you're going to the ocean or a little cabin in

the woods hopefully my list will help you choose

one or two to take if you click on the upside down triangle it will show you

the timestamp of when I summarize each book so you can skip it to the next one

if you've already read it and while you're down there click on the little

bell beside subscribe and that means you will get just one email every time I

upload a video which is only once a week the number one book you need to take on

your first vacation is the Devil in the Junior League by Linda Frances Lee I

could not put this book down it's about a lady who falls into an unfortunate

circumstance and needs a really good lawyer like this lawyer is greased back

hair brown Leisure Suit but he's the best in Texas and the only way he will

work for her is if he if she gets his wife into her super uppity stereotypical

Texas Women's League and his wife is like does not fit in and somehow she's

got to make her fit in and it just crashes all her pearls in the kitchen

mink coat stereotypes that she's grown up with that was real it just crashes

all that and helps her find out who she really is

and who her real friends are and she gets some revenge on some women who are

not nice at all and it's not your stereotypical good

friends book it is a cool and light-hearted and fun and like stab them

in the back kind of good friend friendship book number two on my summer

reading list for you is The Lake House by Kate Morton she twists and turns

family secrets into characters' perspectives of

what happened in this crime back in the 1930s and she bounces back between the

1930s and present-day and some of the characters are still alive so you get

their perspective you get the sense of the awful family secrets and how you

would react how you would hold on to the secret or let it go

it's a suspenseful page-turner but not because it's scary because you don't

want those secrets to get out Kate Morton does a fabulous genius job

with vocabulary I feel very smart when I read this book I felt very smart when I

read this book the way she twists and brings up surprises throughout the book

it makes it a really quick read for summer this one detective of present-day

has her own plot going on as well as the crime that happened that she wants to

solve this crime that has been an OB case for so long since the 1930s it's

set in Cornwall England and so you get this beautiful scenic view of what the

lake house looked like and what all the secretive pathways looked like as well

it really makes you think what you would have done back then if you had witnessed

this crime it also has a reading group guide in the back for you if you want to

host a book club number-three for your reading list should be The Fix by David

Baldacci this is my favorite David Baldacci book yet this is number three

in the series about Amos Dekker this guy who has the unfortunate blessing or gift

of not being able to forget anything and right off the bat it grabs you in this

thriller type plot grabs you in when Amos Dekker witnesses a guy shoot a lady

in front of the FBI building and he has witnessed it he can't forget anything and

he can't solve the problem he can't find a loophole

he then tries to tie them together somehow and there's just something

missing and figures it out and it comes down to a

matter of national security so there's a fast-paced like Oh solve the problem

hurry hurry kind of feel to it that makes it more of

a page-turner and a quick summer read his books are set in Northern Virginia

or near DC and we used to live in Northern Virginia so I know a lot of the

roads and stuff that he mentions in his books but this is my favorite and you

don't have to have read the first two books you can just pick it up here on the

third one in the series the number four best book is by Lee Child my favorite

author of all times and this one's called Night School and the main

character in most of Lee Child's books is Jack Reacher and he's supposed to be

this what-you-see-is-what-you-get guy who was in the military I think Marines

he's not a people-pleaser he can buck up against the authority he only wears the

clothes on his back he always rats someone out who needs to be ratting out

he has to take a night class and of course he figures it out in the first

hour that there's really another reason that he's there and so he solves this

problem in a sarcastic punch him in the face way with not a lot of gruesome

fighting but it is very action-packed and he's just brilliant in the way that

he solves the problem he's very good at math so he uses those deductions to help

I like to read his books in the airport because I think like everyone's a

suspect like somebody is a spy trying to do something to our nation and I'm gonna

help solve the problem by reading this book anyway great read for your summer

reading list taking you by storm in the first chapter is my number five book on

your summer reading list is The Husband's Secret of Liane Moriarty an Australian

author she does such a brilliant job of letting you decide if you would point

fingers or hide the secret for the rest of your life as a woman as a mother as a

wife as a friend will you ever tell anyone this secret will it help you grow

closer to your husband will it divide your relationship such heavy heavy but

suspenseful again because you're hiding secrets and you don't want people to

find out this secret but it's such a fast page-turner because of that and the

way she describes the friendships and relationships that are built and there

are several secrets that come uncovered in the book so you have to read it to

figure out which secret I'm really talking about Liane Moriarty also wrote

the sixth book in my summer reading list Big Little Lies with Reese Witherspoon

Laura Dern Nicole Kidman all those awesome actresses now take on the role

of these uppity women in southern california who have major issues like a

lot of people in the PTA now they have children and they have to solve their

own issues while knowing that this murder happened but at the same time

they are becoming deep deep friends and it makes you question can you really

trust your friends will you allow your mask to come off with your true friends

now that you have them great quick read I wish you wouldn't use foul language as

much it's just unnecessary for me a bonus book that I want to tell you about

is a book called unveiled grace and it's about this BYU professor who leaves the

Mormon cult and goes to Christianity and it is a mini year-long many years long

process it really gives you an insight as to what she was thinking and what she

had to go through to pull herself out of that religion after you get back from

your vacation leave me a comment and let me know which book you chose or which

book you think I should read I like a lot of

different types of books I usually don't like period books but I really liked The

Lake House even though it was set in the 1930s for most of the book

some of them thank you so much for visiting my Laurie POP channel pop over

again soon

Five Books I Read Because of BookTube | #StrikeBackVideoAThon [CC] - Duration: 5:02.

Hi, YouTube, it's Kathy, and welcome back to another video for the Strike Back VideoAThon.

In this video, I'm going to talk about five books that I've read because of BookTube.

It can be argued that I read most of my books, if not all of my books because of BookTube,

because I talk about every book I read on BookTube, but shhh.

I had to narrow it down somehow.

And if you've been here for a while, you might know that I'm also really terrible at lists.

So in order to narrow down what I already narrowed down, I narrowed it down to books

that I have physical copies of.

I live in a bachelor suite with another person, so I tend to get all of my books from the

library because I don't have a lot of space for books - despite how many I have [giggles].

So I kind of figured if I actually own these books, and they're books that I read because

of BookTube, they gotta be special.

My lipstick is doing weird things.

That's fun.

The first book I wanted to share with you is The Long Way to a Small Angry Planey by

Becky Chambers.

I absolutely adored this book last year, so much that I actually went out immediately

after finishing it to get the second in the series.

And part of me is low key upset that the third one isn't out yet, because I would love to

read it.

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet centres around a bunch of people who work together

on a space ship.

It kind of has Firefly feels in that it's like a found family, except for the people

on this ship are very diverse.

There's people from all sorts of different backgrounds, all sorts of different genders,

all sorts of different sexualities, all sorts of different species.

And basically, they work making these space highways, if you will, where they basically

punch holes in the fabric of space/time so you can get through it faster, which just

sounds fascinating.

If you're into any thing set in space, and you haven't read this book yet, pick it up.

Next on this list is a book I kept seeing pop up here and there, and that's

History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera.

I cried at this book [chuckle].

I mean, it's an Adam Silvera book, so what do you expect?

But this was my first one that I read so I didn't know to expect to cry.

This book is about a boy who finds out his ex-boyfriend has died tragically and he has

to deal with all the feelings of grief over that, and meet his ex-boyfriend's boyfriend.

So obviously, with a premise like that, I should have known I was going to cry, but

yeah, it happened a lot.

On to something a little bit happier, we have Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde.

This one is just cute and fluffy.

It takes place at a convention.

It has a friend group of three people who go to this convention together.

One of them is an indie film actress who is promoting some work that she just recent did,

and the other two are there basically as con goers, as opposed to being behind the scenes

and on the panels and that type of thing, so you get to see these two different perspectives,

and there's two different love stories, and it's just really cute.

I read it in a day.

And because one of the protagonists is bi, I was just like, "ah, yes, please".

This next book is a recent release from somebody who I have been watching on BookTube for probably

the longest since I started watching BookTube videos, and that's

The Beginning of the World in the Middle of the Night by Jen Campbell.

Firstly, look how beautiful this hardback is.

Just - it's absolutely stunning.

Jen Campbell, if you don't know her channel, I'll link it down below, because you should

be watching it.

She's a writer based in the UK, and I absolutely love what she has to say about books.

She judges tons of literary prizes, and she writers her own poetry.

This is a collection of short stories, and they're wonderful.

And recently she also released a kids' book, which is also wonderful.

I bought a copy of it and sent it to my niece and nephews.

And the last book on this list, I tried to get from my library and they didn't have it,

although they do have it now which is good because other people should read it, and I

figured based on the premise that I as going to love it, and I might as well just have

my own copy, and that's Eliza and Her Monsters.

This book is about a girl who writes her own web comic and publishes it anonymously, and

it is super big.

Like, a lot of people read it, a lot of people are interested in it, there's tons of people

on these forums that talk about it.

And there's only a few people that really know her identity.

A couple of friends in the forums know who she is and then her family also knows she

does this, but, like, they don't see the big deal about it, and they really don't get the world.

And they think she's just, like, doodling, basically.

And this, along with Queens of Geek are two books that I put on my favourite Fandoms Reads,

which is a video I will link down below and up in the cards because it is a genre of books

that I feel like a lot of books in this genre are starting to come out.

I'm just really here for it.

I find fandom or just enjoying things and wanting to share that enjoyment with others

just such a great topic that I will pretty much read anything that is a fandom read.

If you can think of any Fandom Reads that I should read, that I haven't read, please

let me know, because I want to make a follow up to that video.

And there we have it: just five of the books that I've read because of BookTube and absolutely

adored every single one of them.

Have you read any of these books?

If so, let me know down in the comments below because I would love to talk to you about them.

On the way down to the comments, if you hit that Subscribe button, that would be very nice of you.

You can like and share this as you see fit, and I will see you next time.

Bye!
