We live in an age of mass surveillance.
And big data, mixed with the ever increasing power of artificial intelligence, means all
of our actions are being recorded and stored like never before.This information is being
mined to identify social media trends for targeted advertising, but it's also being
used to predict riots, election outcomes, disease epidemics and that's not to mention
the vast networks of surveillance cameras that could be used to track crowds and individuals
in real time.
This is EMBERS.
A computer forecasting system that sifts through the data that you post on social media everyday.
It mines platforms you'd expect like Twitter and Facebook... and it tracks things that
you might not expect - like restaurant apps, traffic maps, currency rates and even food
prices.
Data from tweets and social media is useful for predicting both disease outbreaks, and
events like civil unrest, domestic political crisis, elections, and so on.
You can use these non traditional data sources, like restaurant reservation information, hospital
imagery and so on to predict the flu.
EMBERS mines big data for trends rather than information on individuals.
For example, if EMBERS detects a mass cancellation of restaurant reservations and then hospital
parking lots fill up, the system can predict that there is probably an outbreak of food
poisoning or flu.
And it's incredibly accurate.
EMBERS correctly predicted Hantavirus outbreaks in Argentina and Chile in 2013 and political
uprisings in Brazil and Venezuela in 2013 and 2014.
In fact, EMBERS is correct in it's predictions about 90% of the time.
But EMBERS does have its limits.
While it can mine public data to forecast major social events before they happen, it's
can't predict spontaneous events - like crowd stampedes or terrorists.
An increasing concern in an overcrowded and unstable world.
Which is what Dr Mubarak Shah and his team are trying to do.
They are using video surveillance, AI, and complicated mathematical algorithms to track
and predict the movements of dense crowds and the individuals in those crowds.
Crowd analysis is a very interesting area and very challenging, when you have thousands
of people, it becomes very, very complicated.
This is where A.I. comes in.
It can help spot abnormal patterns in a crowd like bottlenecks.
Take the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia for example.
In 2015, hundreds were crushed to death in a stampede.
In the future computers may be able to detect bottlenecks in real time and pilgrims can
be diverted to uncrowded areas, thus avoiding stampedes and ultimately, saving lives.
Another application Shah's team is working on is to track individuals in crowds in real
time.
We want to be able to track that person where the person enters, where he's going and where
exact sitting and so on.
This kind of surveillance is done manually, but computers are beginning to be able to
detect individuals acting suspiciously as they move through a crowd.
We want to be able to analyze the video in each camera.
We detect people, we track, and we identify and so on.
Using video surveillance and the networks of cameras available in major cities, Shah's
team is working on using AI to track individuals from place to place.
This Boston bomber was seen in many different locations, so you detect a person in one camera,
then it disappears because it's not visible.
And after sometime it reappears in another camera maybe at a distance.
Re-identification in the crowd is much, much harder because there are lots of people.
Camera networks data mined for suspicious behaviour could stop future bombings.
But it isn't easy and they aren't there yet.
There is so much data that needs to be annotated so that machines can understand human behavior.
It can help law enforcement it can make them more efficient and it can help solve crime.
But there is a downside to this.
How much privacy are we willing to give up to be safe?
The implications of these technologies are vast.
Perhaps It depends on how much you trust the people who are mining your data.

Donald Trump requested the Pentagon put together a military parade months ago after visiting
France and witnessing Bastille Day alongside Emmanuel Macron, their newly elected president.
It got support and detractors from different sides of the aisle.
Many thought it was unnecessary and a waste of money that instead could be used to pay
for veterans benefits or entitlement benefits.
While others felt it was a good way to show American dominance and boost morale.
But the parade has been moved up.
The Daily Mail reported,
"Donald Trump's plans for a controversial military parade are moving forward, just weeks
after the Pentagon announced his procession request.
National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster ordered the military to set the date for Veterans
Day, November 11, a senior official confirmed Friday.
The idea for the military parade came after Trump's visit to France where alongside
French president Emmanuel Macron he watched the Bastille Day procession that featured
military tanks and ranks of soldiers march down Champs-Élysées.
Tanks, soldiers, and air force service people all contributed to the military display in
France.
The Veterans Day date was confirmed by a senior US official according to Fox news.
The procession is set to run from the White House to Capitol Hill.
2018's Veterans Day marks a timely choice for the parade as it will be the 100-year
anniversary of the end of World War I.
When Macron visited the Capitol two months after the Bastille Day parade, Trump hinted
at his plans to emulate the military ceremony.
'It was a tremendous day, and to a large extent because of what I witnessed, we may
do something like that on July 4th in Washington.
We're going to have to try to top it,' he said.
Trump's grand plans, however, do not sit well with several Democrat officials who have
dismissed and mocked the parade as 'a waste of money'.
California Rep. Jackie Speier said on CNN earlier this month, 'I was stunned by it,
to be quite honest.
I mean, we have a Napoleon in the making here.'
She added she thinks the spectacle will be 'a waste of money' Minnesota Rep. Tim
Walz said, who is also the highest-ranking former enlisted soldier serving in Congress,
told on MSNBC the parade was 'the stupidest thing I've ever heard'.
He added that those serving in the armed forces should not be used to display 'whatever
the president's ego is trying to do.
That is a terrible idea'.California Rep. Ted Lieu took to Twitter to say that the Capitol
would be better off investing the money elsewhere.
'You know what would be more useful than asking the Pentagon to waste money on a big
military parade?'
Lieu tweeted after the broadcast.'Basically anything.'
He also dubbed the parade 'a waste of money for one man's ego' on CNN.
Other politicians were quick to note that Trump's parade may follow the fashion of
his Inaugural Parade, which had noticeably empty sections.
Washington Rep. Rick Larsen tweeted an image of the low turn out at his Inaugural parade
saying: 'There was already a #TrumpParade in DC.
Not very well attended the first time, would be a waste of Pentagon time and resources
the second time.'
The details of the procession are not yet clear.
It also remains unclear if Trump himself will participate in the spectacle as Macron did,
riding in an open-top military vehicle, according to Politico.
"
The Washington Examiner has reported,
"Trump wants the parade to start at the White House and end at the U.S. Capitol, about
2 miles away.
The memo was sent to Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis from McMaster and says the president
wants Mattis to brief him on "concepts of operation for this event."
Trump's budget director, Mick Mulvaney, estimated earlier this month that the parade
would cost the federal government between $10 million and $30 million.
Trump raised the possibility of the parade to highlight the strength of the U.S. military
and show appreciation for the troops, months after he attended the Bastille Day celebration
in France with President Emmanuel Macron."
Even though some might not want a military parade it is not the first time a President
had requested for one.
Back in the 1980's and 1990's President George H.W. Bush requested one as well.
But it's been almost thirty years since talk of one has emerged which is why many
people think President Trump's request is the first when in reality it is not.
This is a perfect way to honor veterans for everything that they have done and everything
they still do.
Especially given the lack of attention they received in the last administration.
Veterans deserve this and it is an amazing gift the American taxpayers can provide for
them after the freedom veterans have defended for us all while overseas in foreign countries.

Hi there.
One of our viewers asked me: Bayless, how have you learned to walk in obedience?
The answer to that is: You know, you just do it.
But I have some thoughts to share with you this may be helpful.
Isaiah said that if you're willingly obedient, you will eat the good of the land.
So there are ways of rewards to obedience, but it's not just a matter of obedience.
It's being willingly obedient.
Obedience is the outward act, but willingness is the inward attitude.
You know, when our children were small, we can always make them obey.
They would do what we would say, but they would be fighting it on the inside.
You can make your child sit down, but on the inside they are thinking: I'm standing up.
I may be sitting down on the outside, but I'm standing up on the inside.
If we want to reap the blessing of God, we need to be not just obedient, not grudgingly
obedient, but willingly obedient.
You know, when it comes to obedience some people say: Oh God, just talk to me, I'll
do whatever you say, show me what to do!
Show me what to do!
And I think that's okay.
That's good, but you need to start with the written Word of God.
You know, don't be praying and ask "God, show me what to do."
if you don't do what's clearly written in the Word.
He's already told us to honor him with the first fruits of all of our income.
You know, I wouldn't pray about "God, what shall I do about finances?" until I have
already obeyed what He said.
To love our wives like Christ loves the church.
We're to forgive others like Christ has forgiven us.
The Bible says: Don't forsake the assembling of yourselves together, as this is the manner
of some.
And if you see the day of Christ approaching and nearing, so much the more you need to
gather together.
So we need to be obedient and go to church and gather with the Saints.
And there's so much that's just clearly revealed in the Word.
And I would say: Just start there.
Just do the things that God clearly commands us and tells us to do in His Word, and then
be concerned with some of the other things: Praying for specific direction and being willing
to obey that.
And always remember: If you're willing – inward attitude – and obedient – outward action
– you will eat the good of the land.
And I believe if we eat the good, we can wear the good, we can drive the good.
In other words: God will bless us.
He doesn't mind if we have things.
He just doesn't want things having us.
He doesn't want anything to take our heart away from Him.
So listen: Obey God whatever He's telling you to do and you will never regret it.

But still, I've made a couple showcases in the past for new skins in the game, so I wanna
make a video to show you guys how the new gloves look and what I think about them.

Let's go through them one by one in the same order Valve listed them, starting with Vice,
which is one of my favorites because it has some nice color combinations.
Omega, the first pair of gloves that are legit yellow, these might be the ones I'll use in
the future cause they match my yellow setup.
Bronze Morph, these for some reason remind me of the watermelon guy.
Amphibious, they're pretty cool, I like the water effect.
Racing Green, but in terms of green, they're just boring green to me.
Overtake, I kinda like these, but there's too much brown in the front for my taste.
Imperial Plaid, these look like something the joker would wear.
They would be cooler without the lines though.
King Snake, I like these very much cause they're simple yet elegant somehow.
Polygon, they're cool but I don't like the darker blue color they have.
Transport, they look your average gloves for outdoor activities.
Turtle, these are actually really cool and the ones I believe fit the moto style best.
Pow, these could go very well with the AWP Boom, but that's pretty much it.
Mogul or mogul I don't know how to pronounce it, they're just very random and there's just
too much colors for my taste.
Fade, these are original and they're cool, definitely one of my favorites.
Buckshot, the only thing interesting about these is the name itself, apart from that
nothing special.
Crimson Web, I like these but I really think the red should have been a little bit stronger.
Case Hardened, basically the collector gloves, will be interesting to see future prices for
100% blue or gold.
Rattler, the gloves you make when you run out of ideas.
Mangrove, the cleaner version of Rattler basically.
Emerald, clean and simple, the best looking Hydra gloves anyway.
Arboreal, just your regular camouflage gloves, quite boring if you ask me.
Duct tape, really, Valve?
I can already envision the memes.
Overprint, these were the first gloves I got.
They have some neat patterns, and I like the light blue color.
Lastly, Cobalt Skulls, the bluest gloves you can get basically.

Today in military history, 1991.
A Scud missile fired by Iraq
hits US military barracks in Saudi Arabia,
killing 28 Army reservists.
At the height of the Persian Gulf War,
Iraq shot a number of Scud missiles at coalition troops
at Israeli targets inside Israel.
The Scud is not exactly known for its accuracy.
It's an unguided missile that you pretty much fire
and hope it doesn't get intercepted by a Patriot battery.
On February 25th, 1991,
a Scud missile got through the Patriot defenses,
hitting a military barracks near Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
The barracks was the makeshift home
of a group of Army Reserve Quartermasters from Pennsylvania.
When the missile hit, it was 8:40 p.m.,
and the troops were winding down, eating dinner,
and relaxing for the night.
The missile killed 28 and wounded at least 100 more.
It was the single largest loss of life
for American troops in the entire Gulf War.

hello everyone it's Stephanie Manley with copykat.com today i'm gonna show
you how to make a glorious and i'm salad it's not a copycat recipe but it's one
from someone that I met and she made the most fabulous ham salad that she was
nice enough to share the recipe with me so I'm sharing it with you this recipe
is a little unusual why it tastes so good we're starting out with ham slices
like out of a package of lunch meat so when I say ham slices I need something
you would find in a package of Oscar Mayer brand
ham don't get the expensive kind because that's not what we're doing here this is
great a simple Midwest home cooking then we're gonna add a tablespoon of brown
sugar to this and we're getting something kind of crazy we're gonna
cover it with water and we're gonna cook it they're actually gonna simmer for
about 20 minutes what this does is it helps remove some of the saltiness from
the ham and the sugar comes in and it it makes it taste amazing
honestly one and a half tablespoons of grated red onion
so get your box grater grate that onion up one and a half tablespoons of chopped
gherkins pickles those pickles are sweet we're only gonna add about two
tablespoons of mayonnaise I don't mean Miracle Whip I mean mayonnaise like
Hellmann's are Duke's or whatever brands local to you a couple of teaspoons of
the pickle juice that the jar of pickles were in we're gonna pulse this a couple
of times we are not making a paste so we're just gonna pulse it to where the
ham still has some structure to it salt and pepper it up add a little bit of
seasoning remember we took all that salt out by cooking it you're going to season
up the way you like I like about a half teaspoon of each I'm just gonna stir
this in and pulse it a couple more times with the food processor and then that's
it now I think this would work well with other types of cooked ham or some
leftover ham but this is anytime ham salad so there you go it is fantastic

They started out in Japan now they're frickin everywhere
Alright so I got their green tea cream puff
This is the flavor that they have every day
They also have their original and chocolate They will always have that and some stores will have a weekly flavor or monthly
For this week I got their s'mores
So you get to choose the filling you want so when you get to the store of these are not filled
they fill it in on the spot and you get to choose from vanilla chocolate or green tea
I got the green tea with green tea filling and these s'mores with their original vanilla filling
Well first I'm going to try their green tea filling
It's super flaky and crunchy
Um I didn't get to the filling yet but there's like
a big asshole there

this year I've been running three entertainment channels I've been running
the NoxxDog channel on Twitch the NoxxDog channel on YouTube and this channel
and I've run into a bit of a problem it's exhausting not only do I have to
record three videos for the Twitch channel I also have to record six videos
for the NoxxDog YouTube channel and one video for this channel every single week
and I've only been doing it for about two months now I mean it's coming up to
the end of February as I'm recording this and it is already burning me out
I'm already getting burnt out by keeping up that video schedule and something has
to change now not long ago I was I was lying in bed just thinking about you
know how I could make things simpler on the channels now how I could make my
recording schedule a bit less frantic and a bit less well shall we say a
little bit less arduous because it's not only the recording that I have to do
it's all the editing it's all of the metadata it's all of the marketing which
has been a bit lackluster granted but you know and then it's staying around
for the Premier's when they go live on Twitch you know I have to be in the chat
just in case anybody wants to talk to me and then it's you know it kinda it all
piles up you know it all it all kind of like snowballs so it's much more than
just the recording and I was just wondering how to make that a little bit
less arduous and one of the things that I did that one of the conclusions that I
did come to is that gotta be honest I don't really like making vlog type
videos anymore you know I mean these sit down ones are okay if I've got something
to talk about but if I don't have anything to talk about then I don't
really see the point in forcing a vlog you know or forcing one of these videos
so what I'm gonna do the main change that I'm gonna make is I'm not really
gonna worry too much about videos for this channel anymore so what that
basically means is that I'm only gonna upload on this channel if
I've actually got a good video to put up on it so only if I've got a topic that I
think I can make a good video about or a subject that I think I can make a good
video about then I will make a video to go up on this channel but otherwise I'm
not gonna worry about uploading consistently on this channel anymore
ever since I started the knocks dog channels twitch and YouTube
my main focus has been there I've been really really enjoying getting back into
you know recording on those channels and it's been taking up so much of my time
that I don't want to take any time away from that to make a video on this
channel you know this this type of video this type of video is kind of okay now
because I'm okay recording this now because I've already finished all of my
recording for next week fur for the knock stock channels so I'm perfectly
okay recording this now but most of the time doesn't really turn out like that
you know circumstances happen and I get a bit behind on the recording schedule
and it's just really quite annoying but yeah so that that's gonna be the most
major change I I will I'm not gonna make regular uploads on this channel anymore
it's definitely gonna be an upload you know as and when I think I have
something good to say so I'm that's really the major change
that I wanted to kind of talk about in in this particular video but there are
also going to be a few changes on the knocks dog YouTube channel side of
things as well and that then that's mainly going to be kind of you know what
what I do because at the moment I've got I record sick I record and edit six
videos a week on the knocks dog YouTube channel Monday to Saturday and then
usually I would have sunday off for you know uploading on this channel usually
now I'm gonna maintain the same Monday to Saturday schedule but at the moment
I'm recording and editing six you know six individual videos and I'm wondering
whether it may not just 'is the recording you know 'is the
recording time a little bit if I just took my Saturday vodcast from twitch cut
it in half and then you know release that as two individual videos for Friday
and Saturday you know for the Friday Saturday timeslot I'm I'm very much
thinking of doing that because number one it means I only have to record seven
videos and not nothing and it kind of cuts down on editing as well although to
be honest with you they were the the two videos the two YouTube videos that I'd
make out of that Twitch premiere would actually be
slightly more heavily edited down for YouTube but it would still mean that I
completely cuts out that recording time it cuts out about an hour and a half of
recording time which is pretty yay which is pretty big it may not sound like a
lot but it is actually a pretty big thing
this recording can be quite tiring depending on how much effort you put
into it so I'm definitely thinking of doing that and just proud perhaps I can
even make those particular videos its own series you know because a lot of the
time on Saturday with my Twitch premiers I do like a bit of like a first
impressions thing I take a take a game I haven't played before and just try it
out you know or it could just be a video that I'm you know it could just be a
game that I'm particularly fond of you know and just it just a bit of an off
style to trim perhaps go a bit retro it can be anything really but I'm
definitely thinking of just taking that Saturday vodcast splitting it into two
and just releasing those videos the following week on Friday and Saturday I
think that's going to be a very good bet to actually do that because I used to do
that when that channel started as a matter of fact when the knocks dog
YouTube channel started it was just twitch vods that's pretty much it just
split into that's literally who it was and and that
worked yeah that worked pretty well until I kind of changed the point of the
knocks dog YouTube channel and started doing like individual stuff but I think
I can I think there's a happy medium between the two things and I'm hoping to
strike that balance going forward but anyway to be honest with you that's
really all I had to say in this particular video if you if you do want

How to use Mavic Air Filters - Polar Pro Mavic Air Filter Review - Duration: 6:56.
what up guys welcome back to another episode my name is Atti Bear and since
I'm your drone guy I noticed that a lot of you have unanswered questions when it
comes to the whole DJI Mavic air filter situation so in the forum's a lot of
questions pop up regarding how to mount actually the filters which filters to
get and so on and so forth so in today's episode we will cover all there is to
know about the newly implemented filter system since filters for the Mavic air
are pretty rare at the moment my friends from polar Pro were kind enough to
supply me with one of their first shipments of the vivid filter pack so
with their help I will show you how DJI's newest filter system actually
works but before we get into all the filter madness don't forget to subscribe

Atti-Bear.com so without further ado let's jump right in
alright so let's see what our friends from polar pros sent me for the release
of Mavic Air nice so these are the newest filters from Polar Pro for the
Mavic Air so let's see what's in the box
so as we know it from all the air filters from polar Pro they always come
with a really nice sturdy case and it looks like they improve their design you
don't have to you know tap on the filter to get it out of there cuz this was the
case with the old filters see those are the filters for the Matic Pro and if you
want to get them out you always have to fiddle in there and you know level them
out there and it's kind of always the same you're tapping on the filter itself
so these filters are actually really small but as always from polar Pro they
are made out of a metal housing they have their special coating on it so it
will reduce glare and reflections and also those filters are polarized so
here you see a side-by-side comparison between the old Mavic pro filter and the
new Mavic air filter and don't be fooled by the size of the housing of the filter
cause the sensor of both drones is actually the same size so polar Pro
added these little spikes on the sides of the new filters and I wish they would
also have included those on the old filters cause let's face it sometimes it
was hard to remove them or to put them in the right position so maybe you guys
want to implement those little spikes on the old filters too so as you can see in
the vivid collection they include the nd 4, the nd 8 and nd 16 polarized
filters I already made a video about nd and pol filters a while back I will
link it up here and the top so make sure to check it out if you don't know what
nd and pol filters are and how they work and also in the box as we know it
from the other filters is always a cleaning cloth and of course for pro
stickers and also included is a little installation guide but I will also show
you how to install the filters onto your new Mavic air alright so actually DJI
improved the way how they handle filters so here on the front you now have a
little ring that you can unscrew in order to make it loose you have to screw
it counterclockwise to make it come off and there is actually no glass in here
so see nothing in there I noticed while I was using the filters that the best
way to actually mount the filter is by grabbing the gimbal on the side so this
will only work if you have small hands like I have then you take your filter
and start to gently screw them on and make sure to not force them on cause the
little thread on there will be damaged if you force them on
and here you go now you have a mounted filter in order to screw it into place
you need to turn the ring in the back and this is because of the following
reason since this is polarized filter the strongest polarizing effect is
achieved when the polar Pro logo is on the bottom of your filter in order to
switch the position of the polarizing effect you just need to turn the front
end of the filter since this is polarizing filter naturally you can
turn it 180 degrees but it's way easier to recognize the full polarizing effect
with the help of the Polar Pro logo but make sure to only turn the front part of
the filter cause the back one and the front one are not connected to each
other Polar pros filters also have a nice side effect if you ever hit
something they will protect your lens see so it's pretty simple to use the new
filter system the DJI implemented with the Mavic air but tell me in the
