that this could have on the other person's life.

In this particular case, I'm seeing a secondary motive
that makes things worse.
I believe this boy was actually in love with her.
In other words, I consider the brother's testimony to be true.

And, apart from this whole situation with his friend there,
he was suffering because she didn't love him back.
And I think you took advantage of this situation
to get back at her for not loving you back.
