Youtube daily report Feb 15 2017

By many accounts, the country of Norway is utopian.

It ranks among the best in terms of quality of life and happiness, its economy is robust

and growing, and when compared to the United States, or Western European countries, Norway's

crime rates are incredibly low.

Criminologists who study Norway suggest that this may have to do with the its progressive

take on justice and rehabilitation.

So, what exactly is life like for Norwegian criminals, and what can other countries learn?

Well, any criminal justice system begins with law enforcement.

Police in Norway are community-based, and trained to deescalate situations with as few

officers as possible.

They don't even carry guns.

Norwegian police did arm themselves in response to terror threats in 2014, but after 14 months,

the force gave up their weapons.

After arrest, a criminal in Norway would be tried in court.

Firstly, the maximum sentence allowed in Norway is 21 years, even for crimes like murder.

The death penalty for regular crimes was outlawed over a century ago, and further abolished

in 1979 for crimes like treason or mass murder.

Even terrorist Anders Breivik, who killed seventy-seven people in 2011 in the country's

worst ever terror attack, was not eligible for the death penalty and sentenced to 21

years.

However, judges can renew a prisoner's detention for five years at a time at the end of their

sentence, leading to potential lifelong incarceration.

And although most courts around the world presume innocent until proven guilty, in Norway

this idea takes a high priority.

When Breivik entered the courtroom, the prosecutors shook his hand to establish neutrality.

This move was met with criticism by international observers.

Breivik was sent to a maximum security prison, but all prisons in Norway are considered a

step above the rest.

The country's prison system has been described as 'the nicest in the world'.

In particular, many are focused on Bastoy Prison, a minimum security facility where

the goal is rehabilitation over punishment.

There are reportedly no bars on the windows, kitchens are fully stocked including sharp

knives, guards and inmates have even developed friendships.

In Norway, losing one's freedom is considered enough of a punishment.

Instead of looking for retribution, the country addresses crime as a social problem, and looks

to repair the harm caused by crime, rather than punish those responsible, a concept known

as "restorative justice".

This is a far cry from the United States, which sees the horrors of incarceration as

part of the price for committing a crime.

And after completing a sentence, Norway takes great care to look after its citizens.

The justice system works with other agencies to make sure former criminals are able to

find a place to live, a job, and access to a support system.

And these post-prison inmates are still able to use the social safety net in place, which

includes health care, education, and even a mandated pension.

Although some around the world, particularly in the United States, have criticized this

system for being too soft on crime, the numbers speak for themselves.

Roughly 80% of those released from prison in Norway are not re-incarcerated, and go

on to live crime-free lives.

In the United States, nearly the same percentage, 76.6% are re-incarcerated within five years

of their release.

Although the reasons are complex and interrelated, it may be safe to say that Norway's progressive

and humane system of rehabilitation, from arrest to release, may just work in other

countries like the US.

But it would take a major overhaul of the criminal justice system, and a major shift

in perspective.

Thai Food at Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา) - Don't Miss Aunty's Fried Oyster Omelet! - Duration: 18:09.

- My plate of hoy tod is coming along,

and she just added the egg, and I love,

she cracked on the egg, and then she chucks the eggshell

into the bucket of eggshells, expertly.

Oh, that's a beautiful thing.

(cheerful instrumental music)

Good morning everyone, it's Mark Wiens

with Migrationology.com in Bangkok, Thailand.

There are many different floating markets

that you can visit when you come to Bangkok,

and there are a couple right within Bangkok,

I really recommend Khlong Lat Mayom, by the way,

and then there are also some really famous floating markets

about an hour and a 1/2 outside of Bangkok,

in a province called Samut Songkhram,

and some of the really famous floating markets

like Damnoen Saduak, and Amphawa floating markets

are all located there.

But today, my wife and my sister and my mom,

and our kids, a couple of our kids,

we are gonna go on a day trip to Samut Songkhram,

and hopefully go to a couple of kinda more lesser known

floating markets, so stay tuned for this video,

some lesser known floating markets and some delicious food

coming up.

Are you ready for another road trip, Mika?

(woman singing lullaby)

According to Google Maps, it's 86 kilometers

from where we're leaving, and we're in the Bangna area

of Bangkok, and it's gonna take an hour and 36 minutes

to drive there.

(cheerful instrumental music)

You know when you're in the countryside

when the dog just lounges in the middle of the road

and you have to go around him.

We are following Google Maps, and we're now

on this small little jungle road, and I'm loving it.

Oh, this is such a beautiful province,

I love being around these areas.

Achoo!

We made it, this market is called Talat Nam Tha Kha,

and the literal translation, talat is market

and then nam is water, so it's a water market,

and I'm already loving the simple,

kinda slow feel of this market.

When you arrive to this market, you walk through

this little entrance section which is covered,

and there's some souvenir shops, and then immediately,

you get to the floating market section,

it has such a quiet, peaceful, nice feel to it,

there are plenty of boat vendors,

some of which are selling ready-to-eat things,

and then some people who are selling

a variety of different ingredients, lots of bananas,

some onions and some garlic and shallots,

and then produce from their gardens,

probably right from their gardens right at home,

and they just load everything up onto their boat

and then come to the market to sell.

But what I really like is how small,

and how friendly it is so far, and I just,

actually, I haven't really walked around much yet,

but I just came into the market,

walked up this little bridge so I can just

kinda get a birds' eye view of Tha Kha floating market.

(woman speaking in foreign language)

So far, the ladies selling things at this market

are all very friendly, and they all wanna see Mika.

Looks like they're buying something here.

- Popiah! - Popiah.

My sister Anyin just got some fresh spring rolls,

and they are really hot and fresh, fried fresh.

Mm!

Oh yeah!

Filled with mung mee noodles, and maybe carrots.

Mm, they're good.

Nice and hot still.

(baby wailing)

As you're walking along the edge of the water on the market,

they have these coconuts set up

where you can massage your feet.

Kinda go like this, it kinda hurts!

Am I doing it, (speaks in foreign language).

(speaks in foreign language)

It's coconut sugar.

(woman speaking in foreign language)

You can smell it, you can smell it.

- [Anyin] It's supposed to be better, so I use that

instead of regular sugar.

- There's a lot of good produce at this market,

and also, you can buy fresh coconut sugar,

and coconut syrup, and lots and lots of bananas

and coconuts.

Hoy tod.

Yeah.

(woman speaking in foreign language)

I am squatting down here on a floating raft,

and I just ordered something called hoy tod,

which is fried oysters with egg,

and this is a beautiful stall,

it is an amazing grandmother who is cooking up,

and she is using charcoal on a hot plate,

and adding in the batter, the oysters, and then egg.

Oh, and it's just going up in a cloud of beautiful smoke.

My plate of hoy tod is coming along,

and she just added the egg, and I love,

she cracked on the egg, and then she chucks the eggshell

into the bucket of eggshells, expertly.

Oh, that's a beautiful thing.

Oh, I think that's some lard going in.

(woman speaking in foreign language)

There are bean sprouts in it, there's egg,

there's the rice flour batter, as well as oysters,

I asked her, they are oysters,

and then also bean sprouts and cilantro,

and then after it was finished,

she dished it onto a plate, added some cilantro

and then some pepper.

And I'm sitting down here with my mom to eat.

Oh yeah.

It's good.

Oh, the fresh, crisp bean sprouts, the oyster in there,

and then like the gooey batter flour.

As we were sitting eating that oyster omelet,

I could smell the smoke coming down the canal

from the grilling skewers of gai ping and maybe moo ping,

I'm not sure, I think she mostly has chicken,

but that sounds delicious right now,

grilled meat on skewer.

(woman speaking in foreign language)

Okay, how many skewers would you like, ma?

- [Mom] One or two.

(woman speaking in foreign language)

- [Mom] Sticky rice.

(Mark speaking in foreign language)

- We got a full baggy of grilled chicken, and also tab,

which is liver, and liver's one of my favorites.

Oh yeah.

So creamy, and then it has a marinade on it,

so it's a little bit sweet and a little bit salty

at the same time, but with a really good,

smoky flavor to it.

(cheerful instrumental music)

Oh, thank you!

I stopped to buy some starfruit,

starfruit is an excellent fruit,

not only does it look cool, but it tastes incredibly good,

so every opportunity I have for starfruit, I go for it.

Mm!

It is so juicy!

Oh, that's just an entire mouthful of starfruit juice.

Oh, that's delicious, and it's sweet and sour.

The next snack that we got is called toong tong,

and the literal translation is a golden little bag,

or little pocket pouch, and it's a little wrapper,

which is wrapped really nicely,

and I think they had a minced pork version as well,

but we got the one filled with corn and then deep-fried,

and this is a little one-bite little gift,

and you can see on the top, on the top it's very crispy,

and then on the bottom is the pouch

where it's wrapped up with the filling.

Mm!

Oh yeah.

That's like a spring roll in different shape.

That's fantastic.

Oh, that is tasty.

- Surprisingly good!

- [Mark] It's more tasty than I thought it was gonna be.

- Yeah, that's what I'm saying, like it was really good!

- Ying is having a bowl of kway chap nankon,

which are the rice noodle rolls,

in like a braised soup, and I'm having just ba mee,

which are the egg noodles, with pork,

and there's some pork meatballs, I think in there,

and also some daikon, I think it's daikon radish,

which is also within the soup broth.

Let me get a bite with some pork and with some noodles,

there are also a lot of bean sprouts in here as well.

Mm!

Some good black pepper in there, or maybe white pepper,

but that's just a simple, classic bowl of Thai noodles.

Pork noodles.

(cheerful instrumental music)

(woman speaking in foreign language)

I'm watching them make something

which is called khao tom mad, which is rice,

sticky rice mixed in a mixture,

I think with coconut milk, and then

they add in a banana and wrap it in a banana leaf,

and then it's steamed, and it's a very popular Thai snack,

but she was telling me that it's a bolan version,

it's a traditional version.

Very cool to watch them make it.

Oh, okay.

So this is the sticky rice mixture

that includes sugar and coconut milk.

(speaking in foreign language)

They are making the khao tom mad

over a little bit down there, overlooking the canal,

and then they're selling them right here,

so I just got some of the khao tom mad

that they're making freshly right now.

They're wrapped in doubles, and you unravel that,

and then you got two banana leaf-wrapped packets.

Oh, and you can feel that stickiness already

from that coconut milk and that sugar in there.

Oh, and what I love about things

that are cooked in banana leaf

is you can immediately smell the aroma,

that banana leaf, it has such a wonderful aroma.

The sticky rice just sorta melts

into that coconut milk and the banana.

Really gooey, sticky rice, and then just

with a sweet and tart banana on the inside.

This is one of my favorite Thai traditional desserts.

You can really taste that banana leaf,

which the steam embedded into it.

We spent about two hours walking around this market

and eating and relaxing, this is a fantastic

little floating market, and I love how it's so quiet

and peaceful and very, very friendly.

They also offer boat rides, which would look really,

really nice, but with the babies,

I think we're gonna skip the boat ride,

although if you come here, I think I would highly recommend

the opportunity to take a boat through these canals

and just relax, that looks really fun.

And from here, we're gonna go see another floating market,

which is not too far away.

Yeah, there's another floating market about,

it said about 15 minutes away that I wanna check out,

so we'll just stop by there for a little bit

and see how it is.

(cheerful instrumental music)

That was an absolutely beautiful drive

through the coconut trees to get here,

and that was about a 15 minute drive,

and this is called Talat Nam Bang Noi,

and it is right on the edge of the Mekong River,

I can see it right up here.

(jazzy folk music) Oh man, at first I thought

that was a CD playing, that's a live band!

Fantastic!

I gotta give it up to the live music,

that is a highlight of visiting this market.

This is a really relaxed floating market as well,

but it's right along the Mekong River,

which is a huge river, and then kind of

right in the parking lot on the side of the temple,

so it's almost like a community,

it almost has a community center feel to it.

The girls and the babies are walking around

the market shopping.

This is a good shopping market,

especially for little Thai things and souvenirs,

and so I have taken this opportunity to sit on the bench

near the water and eat some mulberries,

and mulberries are, I think they're popular

to eat at this market, they're kinda famous

to eat at this market, and I like how

she has made a mulberry, a little basket

to hold the mulberries in, and then

put the mulberries inside, and then she put it

in a plastic bag, too.

Oh yeah!

Mm!

Oh, that gives you an immediately burst of sourness,

before any sweetness.

Mm!

Those are really good.

(woman speaking in foreign language)

Mika!

We're walking around the market,

and we came back to the car to feed Mika,

and also, we're eating some snacks, so I'm gonna try.

This one is khanom gluay, it's a banana

grilled in a banana leaf, long and skinny.

Let me break it in half, oh, very sticky.

Loo at that, oh, it's hot, right off the grill.

Mm!

Yeah, it's really good.

It's nice, you can taste the banana like,

tastes like a dried banana with coconut,

and then it has like a, it's almost like caramelized

on the outside.

Oh, Mika!

What I really enjoyed today was visiting

Talat Nam Tha Kha, that was the highlight of today.

It's about an hour and a 1/2 outside of central Bangkok,

and it's definitely worth the trip,

that's one of the best floating markets in Thailand

that I've been to, I just enjoyed the whole atmosphere

of the market, and then we just kinda stopped here

just because we were in the area,

and those mulberries were delicious.

I'm gonna end this video now, it's been a,

yeah, just a great Bangkok day trip,

and good to get out of Bangkok for a little bit,

and I really love this Samut Songkhram Province

in Thailand, and the relaxing markets,

and the whole feel of the entire province,

this entire area.

Kim Jong-un believed to be behind his half brother's assassination - Duration: 8:58.

a deeper analysis into the apparent murder of Kim Jong-nam,... we have our Connie Kim

in the studio.

Connie,... Kim Jong-nam's death is sending big shock waves to the international community.

It really is Daniel,... because he was the eldest son of the former leader Kim Jong-il,

and was once considered a potential successor.

But he spent much of his adult life in exile and it was his half-brother Kim Jong-un who

became leader, ruling with an iron fist since 2011.

Let's first take a look at Hye-sung's report as she explains how that came to be... and

what this incident means for the family dynasty.

Who was Kim Jong-nam?

Although he was Kim Jong-il's eldest son, he was considered the black-sheep in the Kim

family dynasty.

Born May 10th, 1971 in Pyongyang, he was the son to Kim Jong-il and his mistress Song Hye-rim.

He was expected to be the first in line to be leader of North Korea, but events took

a different turn.

Kim Jong-nam is thought have spend much of his childhood in Pyongyang living like a prince,

but during his teenage years, he spent time studying in Switzerland where he reportedly

learnt about democracy.

He's said to have tried to convince his father to reform North Korea too, and that's when

he started to fall out of favor with his father.

In May 2001, he was caught trying to enter Japan with his son and two women using a fake

passport to visit Disneyland Tokyo.

The much-publicized incident is said to have deeply embarrassed his father, cementing Kim

Jong-il's negative view of his eldest son.

Kim Jong-nam was essentially exiled from North Korea thereon and spent much of his time in

China and Macau, and eventually his half-brother Kim Jong-un was named heir-apparent in 2010.

Although rarely appearing in public, he would speak to reporters occasionally and make critical

comments about his brother and the regime.

There's currently no evidence of Kim Jong-un's involvement in his sibling's death, but suspicion

is high.

It's being considered a continuation of the purges that the leader has carried out since

he came to power six years ago.

He has so far reportedly executed at least 140 senior officials, including his uncle

and mentor Jang Sung-thaek in 2013.

Whether Kim Jong-nam would have posed a threat to Kim Jong-un is unclear.

Although he showed no signs of ambition to challenge his younger brother, Kim Jong-nam

had represented a question-mark of legitimacy and remained a potential thorn in the leader's

side.

Kim Hye-sung, Arirang News.

This has become an international case of intrigue,... which is bringing a lot of question marks

as to what triggered it.

At this point, there is no evidence that Kim Jong-un was behind the death of Kim Jong-nam,...

but most North Korea experts in Seoul, Washington and Tokyo are saying that it's certain...

that the unpredictable leader must have had it done to eliminate a perceived threat.

The fact that Kim Jong-nam is in the bloodline could be seen as a potential challenge to

the dictator.

In fact, as Kim Jong-un enters his sixth year in power, he's been in the process of having

himself idolized as his predecessors did.

NS1 "I think this is a typical case.

All the tyrants tend to kill their brothers, their in-laws, kin people around them because

they believe this is the only way to solidify his power base because he feels pressed by

all people."

Possibly adding to Kim Jong-un's hostility towards his half-brother,….

Kim Jong-nam had publicly criticized the transfer of power that brought Kim Jong-un to the top

of the regime, replacing their father.

Another possible motive being discussed is China's protection of Kim Jong-nam in case

Kim Jong-un dies.

PS3 "Kim Jong-nam has been China's favorite.

The Chinese government has been financially supporting Kim Jong-nam because Beijing looked

to him as the next North Korean leader in case an emergency occurs.

For Kim Jong-un, eliminating his half-brother favored by Beijing was necessary, especially

because he himself did not have good relations with China,"

Government sources say another reason for the killing was to prevent Kim Jong-nam from

going to South Korea.

A source who asked not to be named said Kim Jong-nam had been called back to Pyongyang

by the North Korean authorities for various reasons, but did not respond.

There are also reports that an attempt by Kim Jong-nam to enter the South led to his

murder.

Connie what's also noteworthy is the timing of it all.

In the same week as the late leader Kim Jong-il's birthday.

Why did the assassination happen so close to such an important date in North Korea?

Is there any correlation?

Right, there's been some speculation that this was tied to Kim Jong-un's father...

Kim Jong-il's 75th birthday.

Just to remind you, the North fired an intermediate-range ballistic missile last weekend, too.

But, South Korea's National Intelligece Service made it clear today... that the assassination

of Kim Jong-nam has been a standing order since Kim Jong-un came to power in late 2011.

In fact, when the North attempted to eliminate Kim Jong-nam in 2012, the head of South Korea's

intelligence agency said he sent the older Kim a letter to save his life.

It's the North's highest profile death since Jang Song-thaek... in 2013.

Who is left now in the Kim dynasty and are there any security threats against them at

this point?

A figure that stands out from the Kim dynasty is Kim Pyong-il , the current ambassador to

the Czech Republic.

Like his brother Jong-nam, Pyong-il spent more than 20 years working abroad at North

Korean embassies including those in Hungary, Finland and Poland.

NS2 "Ordinary North Koreans are not very aware

of Kim Jong-nam, but Kim Pyong-il is different.

He worked in the regime's People's Army as a potential successor and has quite a lot

of supporters."

Many in the Kim family are believed to be under surveillance.

Kim Sul-song , Kim Jong-un's half-sister, is reportedly locked up, and Kim Han-sol,

Jung-nam's son has reportedly been in France but his whereabouts are currently unknown.

It's hard to say for sure these people are danger,... but attention is also turning to

their whereabouts and whether they'll be affected in any way from Jung-nam's apparent murder.

The reign of fear continues.

Kim Jong-un executed more than 140 senior party and military officials since taking

power in late 2011.

How is this incident going to affect his power base?

Well if it's for sure that Kim Jong-un was behind the murder, it won't be easy to keep

that from reaching senior officials.

Finding out that he has killed his half-brother, most North Korea watchers say they'll perceive

a threat even bigger.... than when Kim Jong-un had his uncle Jang Song-thaek executed with

an anti-aircraft gun.

NS3 "So this is a show of force showing that he

is on the throne so he is really emphasizing on the throne that nobody will be allowed

to challenge him in North Korea.

He is very instable, typical sign of instability and nobody should not challenge his power

with any means.

Just this month Kim dismissed the regime's spy agency chief Kim Won-hong....and the propect

is... more ruthless killings are on the way.

The next big news will be the official announcement from

the Malaysian government.

Thanks Connie for coming in today.

Kim Jong-nam's death proves brutality of regime if Kim Jong-un involved: Hwang - Duration: 1:48.

South Korean acting president chaired a National Security Council meeting, then ordered the

government and the military to stay on guard for a possible follow-up provocation from

Pyongyang.

Song Ji-sun brings us Seoul's reaction.

South Korea's acting president Hwang Kyo-ahn says Kim Jong-nam's suspicious death is a

'grave' incident... and a situation Seoul has to monitor carefully.

"We must thoroughly monitor the current situation in North Korea and prepare for every possible

scenario, including an additional provocation.

If it's confirmed that Kim Jong-un was behind the murder of Kim Jong-nam, it's another clear

indication of the regime's brutality and inhumanity."

Hwang added that Seoul should intensify international cooperation to turn the screw on Pyongyang

and eventually bring about change in the North.

At a trilateral meeting with the ruling party, the government and the presidential office,

Hwang also renewed his condemnation of North Korea's recent ballistic missile test, calling

it an unacceptable provocation.

"The South Korean government is warning North Korea that, if the Kim Jong-un regime does

not give up its nuclear and missile ambitions, it will soon take the path to self-destruction."

Hwang also vowed to strengthen the annual South Korea-U.S. joint drills set for next

month - to an unprecedented level, reaffirming the allies' commitment to countering North

Korea.

Erkältung natürlich loswerden! | How to ease a cold naturally | Living The Healthy Choice - Duration: 5:39.

Hello! I wanna show you to today

What I do when I feel I'm getting sick (or I already am).

There are some really good natural ingredients

That can help you to fight a cold.

I hope this way your next cold can be shortened a bit

Or it doesn't even break out at all.

Let's start with ginger.

Ginger is my go-to remedy

That I pretty much consume all winter long.

I like to – okay, no, I don't like it – but I do eat it raw.

I wash and peel it

And... just chew on that raw ginger root.

I do that when I can feel getting sick

- sometimes it's only a matter of a few hours –

but I have to at least survive the day.

It's really, really spicy

And yes, it can happy that I shed a tear or two

(but it's so worth it.)

Another way to consume it is to make ginger tea

I wash, peel and grate the ginger.

Together with lemon juice and hot water

and let it simmer for a while

So the ginger flavour can really intensify unfold.

Optional you can add some honey

or any other natural sweetener.

The third way I prepare ginger

is to make a puree.

I wash and peel the ginger

(a really big root)

add a bit warm water

and mix it throughout in the blender

on a really high level.

It comes out as a paste

which I either drink raw

or fill up with hot water and drink it like tea.

I like to prepare a big batch of it

That I store in the fridge

For that day and the next.

With this, you don't have to wait long

for the ginger to unfold its flavour (since it's already broken up),

but can pretty much drink it right away.

You do have to get used to the spiciness a bit,

But it's definitely worth it.

Let's talk about an ingredient

You wouldn't necessarily associate with a cold:

garlic!

Garlic also gets describe as a natural antibiotic.

It's great for the digestion and strengthens the immune system.

I have two different ways to prepare it.

The first one is to eat the garlic.. raw.

I totally get that most of you don't really wanna do that

And it really is not the easiest,

But it does do its job.

Peel the clove and crush with a garlic press

And then – eat.

Maybe it's a good thing to do at the beginning of a cold

when you know you won't be in contact

with a lot of people for a while.

I, personally, don't mind the smell that much

I love garlic just too much for it to really care.

But it is indeed a factor you have to calculate in.

The other way to prepare it is in a tea.

One glove of garlic and juice of one lemon

- optional you can add some cayenne pepper

which increases the metabolism

and is good for the stomach.

Bring it all to boil and let it simmer for a while.

Then drink as tea and … try to enjoy it.

A little bit of honey for some sweetness,

as honey acts antibacterial.

Another tea that I like to make

consists of thyme, honey and cinnamon.

Thyme is really good for when you have a cough

or a sore throat.

Thyme acts soothing and anti-inflammatory.

Cook the thyme together with cinnamon sticks,

later we'll add some honey.

And especially the combination of honey and cinnamon

is great for the immune system,

it calms the stomach, acts antibacterial

and will calm inflammations in the throat.

A last thing I do when I feel getting a sore throat

is to gargle with luke warm water and sea salt.

It kills germs, disinfects

And reduces swelling of the mucous membranes.

Don't swallow it though, but spit out after gargling (duh).

So these are pretty much all the natural remedies

That I use when I can feel myself getting ill.

It might not be the most pleasant experiences

- raw ginger and garlic -

but it does really work

and you'll (hopefully) feel better afterwards.

And of course, drinking plenty of water,

And sleep and rest a lot.

If you have any other ideas or tips

on how to avoid or to sooth a cold,

let me know down below in the comments

I'm always eager to hear and learn.

I wish you a good (and healthy) day and I'll see you next time. Bye!

Real vs Faux Fur Debate Pt 1: The Environment - Duration: 17:43.

Hey there modern vegans and vegan curious, it's Margaret.

And welcome back to ModVegan.

Today I'm going to be talking about the fur industry,

and in particular about the environmental impacts of the fur industry.

This video is part 1 in a two part series about fur,

and I want you to just sit back and relax,

and hear a few things about fur that you probably didn't hear about before.

The focus of this series is going to be more on the environmental and health impacts of

fur,

and a little bit less on the ethical impacts of fur,

because I'm assuming that if you're here watching this,

then you might already have some questions about the ethical implications of using fur.

So let's get to it.

Over the past few years, public perception of fur has changed drastically.

I remember as a kid growing up in the late 1990s,

fur was something that people were almost afraid to wear,

because PETA was kind of at the height of its power at that time,

there were ads everywhere - at least there was information everywhere

about the negative impacts of fur.

We saw people protesting on street-corners,

we saw people being doused in red paint,

and it was a time when people were really starting to think that fur was over as a material.

But that hasn't been the case.

Over the last few years, fur has been represented more and more in fashion collections,

almost every year the amount of fur being used has increased.

And in 2015, 73% of fashion shows featured fur.

And that's a really high number if you think about it.

It means almost 3/4 of haute couture fashion shows around the world are using fur,

and it really just tells us that fur is far from being over as a fashion statement.

The fur industry has done a really good job lobbying to consumers.

I speak to people every day who are fairly fur-positive,

and it's simply because they've heard a lot of information from the fur lobby

that makes fur sound like a green, natural,

biodegradable source of warmth that's useful in the wintertime,

and generally harmless.

As if these were animals that we were going to be using anyway,

and as if it's just a natural and renewable resource.

And that's an idea that I'd really like to challenge here today.

One of the arguments that the fur industry perpetuates,

and that the public has been very receptive of,

is the idea that the fur industry is a natural and renewable resource.

And that claim is difficult to refute.

And as a result it's easily accepted by consumers.

I know here in Canada I often see articles from people who are talking about the fact

that they buy,

perhaps used fur, they may not buy new fur,

but they feel that used fur is extremely warm,

and a really great way to stay warm during the wintertime,

and has very little effect on the environment.

Now, some of the fur industries arguments are true.

If you were to take fur, at least in its natural state.

If an animal dies, it's body biodegrades rather easily,

and on the other hand, you purchase something that is made

out of an artificial material, like eco-fur,

it takes longer to biodegrade.

Usually it needs to be incinerated in order to dispose of it.

And so, if you're looking at it that way,

it seems very obvious that natural fur is more eco-friendly,

more green, more biodegradeable.

But the unfortunate thing is that fur DOES biodegrade quite easily,

and that is why it needs to be treated in order to be worn by human beings.

And so, every single piece of fur that you purchase on the market is treated with dangerous

chemicals.

And those dangerous chemicals help to provide longevity for that item,

and they also keep the leather backing form falling apart,

because the leather needs to be tanned,

and as I mentioned in a previous episode,

and I'll be providing a link to that up here,

I mentioned previously that even though we might think of it as natural,

needs to be treated extensively in order to prevent it from breaking down.

In 2011 a group from the Netherlands, a research group called CE Delft,

decided to do a comprehensive study about the environmental impacts of fur.

The Delft study concluded that, in spite of the longevity of natural fur,

it really is extremely bad for the environment,

and in fact, orders of magnitude worse than the next-worst

example of fake fur.

And even though this comes as a surprise,

you're going to see as I discuss this further,

why this seemingly incoherent difference actually makes a lot of sense.

Specifically, the CE Delft study found that actually natural fur was at least 3x more

hazardous to the environment than the next-worst form of fake fur.

And in some cases, the environmental impact of natural fur was actually 10x greater.

As you can see from the table that I'm going to be showing you here,

natural fur does actually use a lot more fossil fuel than fake.

However, we do know that natural fur does tend to last a lot longer.

If you've worn fake fur for very long, you'll notice that the materials are a little more

sensitive than natural fur is,

so the logical conclusion is that perhaps,

when you take into account the fact that natural fur lasts longer,

then maybe natural fur will start to appear as if it is a more environmentally friendly

option.

Unfortunately, that isn't the case either.

It seems that when we really look at it,

even if one natural fur coat lasts 5 times longer than a fake fur coat,

it still has a worse impact on the environment.

If we give natural fur a 30 year lifespan

- so let's imagine that a fur coat, that a natural fur coat will last for 30 years.

And given that amount of years, say we say that a fake fur coat is only going to last

about 5 years.

And people aren't really buying fur coats at this point

- so I think it would be better even to be looking at this in terms of collars,

the numbers that you're looking at here are for full coats,

but, obviously, let's just apply the same logic to a trimming,

because that's what most people are using their fur coats for.

Most of the time, particularly with women's fashion,

it's much more common just to have a fur collar.

So, imagine your fur collar on your coat lasts 30 years.

Now, first of all, because we don't wear full fur coats anymore,

no-one is going to be keeping a coat with a fur trim for 30 years.

Or at least it would be rather unusual to do so.

But, for the sake of our imaginations, we're going to imagine that you keep,

say, a nice, how about a wool - we'll make this completely non-vegan -

say you have a wool coat with a fur collar, and you're able to somehow make it last for

30 years.

Now, how about we compare that with 6 coats made out of acrylic that happen to have fake

fur collars instead.

So, say you use 6 coats during the same amount of time you would have been using one natural

fur and wool coat combination.

It turns out that even if you never properly store your fur,

and you never properly clean it,

it's still less damaging to the environment to go with the artificial comparison.

Now, as you can see from the chart next to me,

that even when you are using these coats for 1/5th the time,

it still is more beneficial to be using an artificial coat.

And that's because, even when you're considering the disposal of that item,

it still is less environmentally intensive than the first initial natural fur coat.

And it's really quite shocking, I must say that I was surprised

that even with this amount of difference,

it still is better to buy fake fur.

So an eco-fur jacket, even if it's only being used for a few years,

versus the natural version, it still is more environmentally friendly.

And of course, as you can see, the difference becomes even more pronounced if you have,

say, a cotton backing or a PET backing, versus a wool backing.

So, if you're actually vegan and you're buying a coat with faux fur that is made out of other

materials,

like acrylic and things like that,

then you're going to be getting even a better bang for your buck in terms of the environmental

impact.

You'll be producing less environmental impact, the more artificial materials that you use.

Now, of course the fur industry has a response to Delft's research.

And on a website called "truth about fur" which is a pro-industry website,

created by the fur industry,

they argue that fur is more natural, fur is more biodegradable,

and fur lasts longer.

And they don't actually address any of the numbers in Delft's study,

because they can't.

Because unfortunately, they're wrong, and they know it.

And so the only thing that they can do is make an appeal to nature,

telling you that fur is a longer-lasting product (which is true),

but they don't address the difference if you were to purchase fake fur versus real fur.

They also appeal to nature by telling you that one is natural and will biodegrade,

which is untrue, because obviously it's been treated with chemicals like formaldehyde and

other dangerous chemicals.

So they try to argue that it's more natural, and that's true.

The other does require petroleum to produce.

But of course the interesting thing is that an entirely faux fur coat only takes about

one gallon of petroleum.

It only takes about one gallon of petroleum in order to produce that coat,

whereas natural fur takes more petroleum,

because not only is it - it isn't made of petroleum -

but it takes much more to produce it once you start thinking about all the inputs that

go into feeding the mink, say,

that you're using for that coat.

If you start looking at the amount of feed that is required

and the amount of fossil fuel that's expended during that process,

if you start looking at the actual manufacturing and the amount of water that is used,

and the amount of other things that are done in order to produce this very artificial,

natural material.

It becomes a lot more complicated.

What I hope I've shown you here today is that natural fur,

just like leather that we're told is natural, is a very unnatural substance.

There's absolutely no denial that for many millennia,

fur was the most easy way for human beings to remain warm.

Fur is highly insulating, it keeps people warm,

it's easily accessible - if you have animals growing around you, you can kill and use those

animals for fur and keep yourself quite warm.

And for many millennia, that probably made sense.

But one of the things that I want to tell you today,

as a modern vegan, is that this is no longer necessary.

and not only is it no longer necessary, it's no longer productive.

Using genuine fur is a huge waste in terms of environmental impact,

and as we will see in the next episode, it's also a huge health impact as well.

And damaging not just to the environment, but also to our health.

I'd encourage you to remember that also, whenever we're talking about creating fur,

all of the same processes need to be put in place that go in place in order to make leather,

so the video that I made on leather, once again,

is very applicable to this.

When you start learning about all the chemicals that are used,

like chromium, and things like that, that do oxidize into hexavalent chromium,

that is true of fur as well.

The backing of almost all fur is the leather, of course,

the skin of the animal, and that backing is going to create a great deal of environmental

hazard and environmental waste when it is made.

So that's something to keep in mind.

it's never just fur, there are very few instances when we have the fur of an animal without

its leather or skin backing.

And so that's important to remember as well.

As animals, our skin is attached to our fur, and so,

if an animal is killed for its fur, it's also being killed for its leather,

which must be processed in the same way as any other leather,

so you have to have both treated, you can't just treat one.

So it's really - if you start thinking about it that way, it's a compound version of fur.

So fur uses a great deal of environmental resources,

so you have the fur, but also the leather.

It's really a huge waste of environmental resources,

and as I mentioned, if you were going to buy five items with fake fur,

then it is pretty much equal to one item made of genuine fur.

Especially if you're recycling and passing on those garments.

If you're going to be passing on that genuine fur item,

if you're going to be donating it after its useful time to you,

and say it lasts a full amount of 30 years in its lifespan,

you'd still be better off buying 5-6 jackets in comparison.

It's worth keeping in mind that most of us don't tend to keep our outerwear for 30 years,

6 years,

it really doesn't happen most of the time.

I hope that you would be donating it to Goodwill, say,

if you had a jacket for 5 years.

You probably would be passing it on to Goodwill,

and then someone else might be able to get a bit more time out of it.

And the same is true for something made with genuine materials.

Genuine fur, genuine leather - I would assume that most of us would be passing it on after

a certain amount of time.

But even given that information, say you purchase a jacket and you have a fur trim on it,

a natural fur trim, you pass it to Goodwill, and then someone else,

passes it to someone else.

Say it achieves its maximum lifespan and is in use for 30 years before the hair just starts

to fall out.

Say, 30 years.

Remember, that within that 30 years,

if you were to have bought 6 jackets using faux fur,

then you'd be pretty much equal in terms of environmental impact.

So, it's really something worth thinking about.

And of course, this doesn't include the fact that you're raising an animal and killing

it for its fur.

And that's an important thing to keep in mind as well.

Thank you so much for watching,

I hope that this was informative and you learned a few things about the environmental impact

of fur.

Just always remember that fur, no matter how long it lasts,

it's always going to have a worse impact on the environment than fake fur.

And again, I realize that that this is counter intuitive.

And it's one of the challenges that we always face,

I think, as vegans, and especially me as a modern vegan.

You guys know that I tend to be more - I'm not somebody who kind of puts the past on

a pedestal.

I don't think that we need to live the way that we always have.

I'm not interested in living like people did in the past.

And one of the main reasons for that is that,

when we start really digging into it,

we find that we can live a better life, with better opportunities,

if we take advantage of the products that we have today that help us to live better

lives.

And to me, fur is a prime example of that.

Fur is an incredibly wasteful resource, that not only causes the death of the animal whose

skin we are wearing,

and whose fur we are wearing,

but it also results in massive environmental impacts

in terms of pollution of waterways and the waste that is produced from that,

and of course, as we're going to see in the next episode,

the health impacts that it has for us when we actually wear it.

So please stay tuned and watch my video on Saturday,

where I will be discussing the health impacts of fur.

Because the fur industry actually has a lot of impacts on human health.

It's not just the environment that's affected,

it's actually human health as well.

And I hope I'll be able to give you some very good reasons to be avoiding fur, even if it

just comes down to your own health.

I hope this video has been informative for you,

I also recommend that you check out the ModVegan post that goes along with this on my blog,

it will have some more information and some more resources for you.

Do check that out.

Also, I recommend that you check out one of the stories that one of my friends, Vegan

Transition, has done on this topic,

she did a series of four episodes relating to this subject with an interview with a Canadian

mink farmer

who discusses his experiences with working on a mink farm here in Canada.

If you enjoyed this video,

please give it a like, share and subscribe,

and I will see you in my next video.

Take care,

bye.

Suspect arrested in killing of Kim Jong-un's half-brother: Malaysian media - Duration: 2:15.

At least one suspect has been arrested in Kuala Lumpur in relation to the murder of

Kim Jong-nam, the half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Kwon Jang-ho joins us on the line from Seoul's unification ministry.

Jang-ho, what can you tell us so far.

Good evening Daniel.

It's hard to get a clear picture of the situation at the moment, as several local and international

news outlets are reporting that a woman has been arrested or at least detained, but the

details are conflicting.

Some say the woman is of Vietnamese origin, while others say she is from Myanmar.

It's also unclear whether the woman is the same person seen in CCTV pictures released

by local media outlets earlier on Wednesday.

The woman in the picture is thought to be one of two suspects believed to be involved

in the death of Kim Jong-nam on Monday morning.

Korea's National Intelligence Service had confirmed earlier today that Kim had been

killed by poisoning, but even that is not 100-percent certain.

The Malaysian police have been unwilling to confirm or deny whether the victim is even

Kim Jong-nam and whether he was poisoned, as they said they are still investigating

the possibilities and awaiting the autopsy results.

There does seem to have been some confusion.

What has the Korean government been saying today?

As mentioned earlier, Korea's intelligence agency gave a statement today identfying the

man as Kim Jong-nam.

They said he was attacked at around 9 a.m. local time while waiting for a flight to Macau.

He was traveling with a fake passport under the name "Kim Chol" and he was thought to

be on his way to meet his family.

He is then said to have been approached by two young Asian women, when he was either

stabbed with a poisoned needle or sprayed with a toxic substance.

He collapsed and was taken away to hospital, but he died on the way.

Malaysian officials have been carrying out an autopsy today but the results have not

yet been released.

Earlier North Korean embassy officials in Kuala Lumpur were spotted arriving at the

hospital where autopsy was taking place.

They were reportedly looking to negotiate the release of Kim's body, but Malaysian police

are said to be unwilling to do so while the investigation is ongoing.

Ask Sophie - Q&A #26 | Sophie's World - Duration: 14:21.

hi I'm Sophie and welcome to my world

well believe it or not this is Q&A

number 26 that's right vientiseis

26 here we go without further ado Q&A

number 26 squishytoy says "do you draw?"

ok so I do i doodle I make funny little

pictures i like to cartoon but truth be

told I'm not the best when it comes to

drawing I've gotten more into things

like illustrator and photoshop on my

computer and i've been using that for

about the past 15 years and so really my

artwork now is all created via the

computer but when I was a kid I used to

draw all the time

one of my favorite things to do is take

my fingerprints and do like little

fingerprints and turn them into little

characters I loved doing that like I had

about 65 different little characters

that would do all these different funny

things and they were all little

fingerprint guys so i used to love to

draw but more as I got into a as I got

into adulthood it became more about

doing it with a computer squishytoys

also asks if you were a child

what toy would you like to play with I know

exactly what i would play with I love

those little miniature characters and i

love the little miniature environments

that go with them

I am all about that and the other thing

I'm all about is Legos like those little

legos that you can make like an entire i

love the ones that are about making a

theme park I love that kind

of stuff so I like anything that's kind

of tiny with personality so and it

doesn't matter you know it can be a

superhero or it could be a pokemon or it

could be a my little pony

I just like those little tiny things

that you can put into environments love

love love love love that kind of stuff

when you were a kid what was your

favorite subject now this is kind of

funny people are going to laugh at this

answer especially my parents when I was

kid I loved math math was my favorite

subject now I got to probably about 7th 8th

grade whenever it switched to like

geometry

and algebra then I wasn't so excited

about math anymore and then my love

actually turned to literature and english

and writing and that kind of stuff so

really though up until like sixth grade

I was all about the math I loved

fractions i loved addition i loved

division which is going to make people

who know me very well smile because now

all I ever say is I'm not a numbers girl

but it's true when I was kid I loved

math squishytoys also asks do you

like dolls

well okay so here's the thing as a

grownup do I like dolls I think dolls

are cool i'm not a doll person I'm

really much more of a character person

like I like little things with little

personalities and dolls i think are just

a little too human for me I prefer

things that are kind of cute and cuddly

like little animal kind of a thing i

like those better than like doll dolls

but i do like those little guys so if

those are considered dolls than I do

like dolls

what was the last lie you told

okay yeah this is one of those questions

where you're like really I like that

it's like it i like the question squishy

toys that it's not like do you lie but

it's like what was the last lie you

told because it's like you just

acknowledging the fact that yeah we all

lie in our everyday life. they could be

little white lies

um i am known for telling a lot of

little white lies and mostly because of

the business that I'm in I'm a party

planner and when I go to an event and my

my vendor is late and they show up and

they're like oh I'm so sorry i hope i

didn't make your life stressful

well of course it made my life stressful

and I'm like no no it's all good

here's where you going to

set up everything's fine let's just make

sure you're set up in time you know I'm

always having to make everything perfect

so a client will come to me and go are we

can be ready in time is is this gonna

happen is everything going to be good

are we going to have a good party?

my whole job is to say absolutely this

is gonna be the best party ever

kids are going to love this party we're

gonna have so much fun

meanwhile inside i might be going like

literally pulling my hair out but

outside i have to present this very calm

put together totally cool exterior so

squishytoys basically I'm always

telling little white lies and that's

just because I want my clients and

people that I work with to feel good

it's me taking the stress my business is

called Sophie's stress-free soirees and

as my husband Scott always says it's

stress free for everyone but me

that's my job what is your dream life my

dream life my dream life is a life where

I get to do what I do with anyone and

everyone and I don't have to worry about

money and I don't have to worry about

paying for bills but that i can just go

into a school or a library or take a big

yellow van and open up the windows and

have the kids come over and make art

with me

have fun with me and laugh with me chat

with me tell me what's going on in their

day connect with people through art

without having to worry about how we're

going to pay the mortgage

how we gonna pay for gas that's that's

my dream life my dream life is being

able to do what I do every single day

without the concerns of reality

that got maudlin all of a

sudden who inspires you

ok there's so many people who inspire me

every single day

there are kids that I work with every

day that inspire me there are teachers

that inspire me

I think if you want like if you want

like a name name JK Rowling's inspires

me

I love what she does I love that she

writes and what the way she writes I

love all the work that she does outside

of it all of her philanthropic stuff

there's so many people who inspire me

but you know if i was to say I mean in

my daily life my husband inspires me my

sister inspires me my assistant Torrey

inspires me my my assistant Jane inspires

me my office worker Stephen

inspires me I have so many people who

inspire me but you know if you want a

name i would say let's go with JK

Rowling because I think she's amazing i

love her if you could trade lives with

one person for one day who would it be

that's a really interesting

question

you're not gonna like this answer i

don't think i would want to trade my

life with anybody and i'll tell you why

i like holding on to the veneer and the

image of somebody else's life being

wonderful and perfect for them and i

know that if i was to step into

somebody's shoes I'd find out all the

little things that make their life hard

and I think that it would ruin my image

of them i think it would ruin my dream

of them and I'd prefer to keep my

fantasy and my dreams because it just

makes me happier

so I guess you're not gonna like that

answer but there's my answer

I don't think i would trade with anybody

for a day I'd like to meet certain

people like I'd love to see DaVnci you

know I mean if I could go back in time

and stuff but but I wouldn't want to be

them

I think I'd rather just be Who I am and

meet those people instead

alternativelychiic with 2 i's says have

you ever been offered a TV show and if

so would you accept it if you did

so here's the deal this whole YouTube

thing that we do now

500 videos in all started because

somebody said to me you should put

together a pilot for PBS and so that's

actually what we did we started doing

videos by putting with the

intention of putting together a PBS like

show it didn't go anywhere but when we

did it it it opened up the possibilities

of doing things like YouTube and so

that's how we actually got started in

doing what we do now

now that being said I do make a monthly

appearance on Sac &Co so I have a

little TV show to my credit and and I go

up there and I'm their monthly craft

advisor which awful fun so I go to

Sacramento to do that and that's a blast

and we have a whole bunch of those links

in youtube if you ever want to watch

those catch those there's a really fun

but if I was offered a television show I

think it'd be super fun as long as it

was something that was positive i've

been offered been offered like spots on

the like My Sweet 16 kind of a thing

where you go in but for younger children

they had a whole series that was out it

didn't last very long but that's not me

because what they want to do is they

want to make the clients look bad they

want to make the children look bratty

and then I guess that's that kind of

stuff is not for me so if it was a

positive television show

abso lutely if it was funny and it was

fun

yeah i totally be into that I'd love to

do voiceover stuff that would be super

fun like a cartoon or something like

that i would that would be so much fun

Kyle_72002_kahd

goodness how do you remember that when

you have to plug that into your computer

every day asks do you read all the

comments

abso lutely every comment that comes to

my youtube i read it and i have to okay

it so i have to verify it before it goes

up onto the the site

so yes I read every single one and

then Kyle also asks when a comment is

replied to do you personally reply or is

one else doing it for you that's a

really great question because I i know

that a lot of people don't have the time

to answer I make sure that I do answer

every single youtube comment now here's

the deal

sometimes somebody will say i love this

craft and i'll give it a thumbs up

that's my way of saying hey thank you

it's awesome that you responded thanks

for the comment kind of thing i always

give them a thumbs up or like but as far

as like writing comments those always

come from me those always are from me

now i also have other social media I

have twitter and i have facebook and all

of that kind of stuff and the thing

about that is it's just like it's too

much pinterest it's just too much

I don't have time for all that so I

actually have somebody a really

wonderful woman named Irina who handles

all of that for me and she basically

just you know she takes things that i

say and she puts them into context on

those social media platforms because I

just can't do it all

not with a full-time business but I do

every single youtube so if you want to

leave me a comment down below I will

respond to you and it'll be me

Elif_F says all the kids that help in

the videos like Connor how did you find

them

well here's the deal these are all kids

that are somehow connected to my life

they've either been a clients like Hanna

was a client Connor was a client who

have become actually good friends over

the years so

we've got you know a whole bunch of

Frankie who comes on is actually the

niece of my assistant my old assistant

Annette and she's fabulous we love her

Liam is actually a kid who watched my

videos and came to one of my workshops

he traveled like four hours to come to

one of the workshops and we got to

chatting and sitting down and talking

and he told me he loves the video

process and would love to be in a video

and so we invited him down to be in a

video and it's kids that I know it's

kids that I meet

it's kids that show interest that are

local I'm in San Francisco so you have

to be local because we don't do this for

pay

we do this for free so we can't we can't

fly anybody in we can't pay them for

their time even though we would love to

do that but you know all of this is

gratis so it has to be somebody who

lives in town or at least is close by or

willing to travel here so we put a lot

of people in that we find through the

classes and through workshops and things

like that but a lot of them have some

sort of connection to us through friends

or family or clients that kind of thing

and that brings us to the end of Q&A

number 26 so remember if you enjoy these

q and A's give us a thumbs up

let us know how you feel if you got any

other questions in the comments down

below and you know now that I do answer

them as a Kyle asked the appropriate

question for more

Sfx n.2: Prosthetic creation and application - Duration: 9:44.

Hi!

In the previous sfx video I talked about

how I sculpt and create a mould for my prosthetics

In this video I show you what materials I use

and how I realize a real prosthetic

and how to apply it

When we have the mould (see my previous video)

we can star to create the prosthetic

We can use three different materials

The first one is the latex

the cheapest material

it costs around 10 euros/liter

with one liter you can create dozens prosthetics

So, this is the cheapest solution

the second one is the gelatine

You can find it in different colors, this is for pale skin

it has a chewy texture

so it looks like a real human skin

the most interesting thing is that you can use a cotton fioc

and alcool to blend the edges

so it's a very good product

it costs around 15 euros/300gr

the third option, the most professional

is the silicone for prosthetic

it's bicomponent, so you have to mix the two parts

to create the silicone for your prosthetics

this is the ideal prosthetic product

because it looks very very similar to our skin

and the texture is realistic too

it follows so well the actor's movements

so it's perfect for our creations

Obviously, it's also the most expensive solution

it costs around 25euros/500gr

In this video I am going to use latex

because it's cheap

Materials: obviously, liquid latex,

cotton fiocs

a disposable bowl

talc or talcum powder

but you can use cosmetic powder as well

brushes

and a travel phono to speed the drying of the latex

I pour the latex into the bowl

and use the cotton fioc to take it

and star to apply it on the mould

I can also pour the latex into the mould directly

and then use the cotton fioc to spread the latex everywhere

When the cotton fioc starts to make lumps

we need to change it

because it tends to take away the latex

It will dry in few minutes

but if we want to speed up the process we can use the phono

We have to make attention not to burn the latex

We are sure the latex is ready when it changes color and becomes yellow

Now we can apply other latex

The edges have to remain thin

Because it will be more easy to apply them on the skin

So I made one, two or max three layers along the edges

and at the centre you can apply more layers

At this point you can start to take out the prosthetic

Take the powder

I am going to use talc but you can use also powder, talcum powder, ext

a soft brush

and apply the powder on the latex

This is because the latex sticks on itself

and if we don't apply the powder

when we take out the prosthetic from the mould

it will sticks on itself

To take away the edges

use a thin flat brush

and start gently to take out

all the edges

continue to use powder to dulling it

when you take off the edges

you can take away the entire prosthetic

This is the final prosthetic piece

and we can apply it on our skin

To apply it we need a prosthetic glue

I am going to use Pros-aide

to remove it you need a specific remover, the Bond Off

It's made by Nafta and parfum

so you can also use Johnson's oil

or Johnson's oil with a little percentage of petroleum oil

We use cotton fioc

and star apply the glue

from the centre of the prosthetic

It will drys in few minutes, until it becomes more clear

Star to apply it on the skin

press the centre and then the edges

I use pros-aide and cotton fioc

to blend the edges

Apply the glue under the edges

and make this movement to blend it well on the skin

This is the applied prosthetic

In the infobox I've written all the products information

In the next video I'm going to show you how to color a prosthetic

Bye! And thanks for watching! <3

S. Korean foreign minister to raise awareness of N. Korea nuclear and missile threats in Gernmany - Duration: 1:19.

South Korea's top diplomat has left for Germany to attend a number of diplomatic talks geared

towards highlighting the gravity and seriousness of North Korea's nuclear and missile threats.

Kim Hyun-bin has a preview of the G20 meeting.

South Korea's Foreign Minister Yun-Byung-se left for Bonn on Wednesday to attend the two-day

G20 foreign ministers' meeting, which will kick off on Thursday.

Topping his agenda is likely to be the ever-growing threat imposed by North Korea's nuclear program.

Before departing, Yun said he would make an effort to raise awareness to the gravity and

urgency of North Korea's nuclear and missile threats.

He added that the meetings represent a chance to strengthen international cooperation on

North Korea.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Yun is expected to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson

for the first time since the new U.S. administration took office.

Yun is also expected to hold bilateral talks with his Japanese counterpart.

Yun will also attend the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, which features one session focused

solely on Korean issues.

The Korean Peninsula session is the first of its kind since the forum was launched.

Yun's trip comes amid heightened tensions over North Korea's latest missile launch and

the apparent assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's half brother Kim Jong-nam.

FOREMAN REVIEW [CC] - Duration: 11:56.

[music]

Hey guys! It is me, Chaseypoo

and today I am doing another review!

oh my god it rhymes, how did no one ever put those two things together? whatever!

Today I am reviewing the Foreman

So before we get going, these are educational videos. I review products for transgender men.

Mostly prosthetics and packers and STPs and yes there are some sex things on here

and this is one of those things but these are still educational so just, y'know gotta point that one out.

Under the categories what is it under? Educational, because this is what it is

it's entertainment, but I'm also educating you.

Anyway! So today I am reviewing the Foreman.

Now you're thinking to yourself, Chase this looks exactly like the ultra/the fuze dildo.

What the fuck? Why do you have this in your hand?

Also there's Beauty hair [blows aggressively] all over this so I am sorry.

You're right. You are so totally right.

And I'm not just like, y'know it's not a cop out like let me just make another review of a product I've already done

so I can get views and get money and shit like that. This ain't the same.

This my lovely friends is the fuze. This is the- it's called the fuze but on early2bed website it is the- um- the ultra dildo.

And like I said, this video- I didn't say this before but I say this in my other videos- this video is sponsored by early2bed.

They send me all these toys. I will never ever no matter what [drops toy] oh shit the fucking vibe just fell on the floor

I will never review a product in a positive way if I think it's negative because people trust me with their dicks

and I will always be there to give you the right information so y'know there's good and there's bad

and I always give you the good and the bad.

So! Whats the difference between these two?

If you'd like to see the video review that I have made of this one please check out the link, I will put it in the description below.

This is an amazing amazing dick, and I'm not gonna go through this whole review but I will let you know

it is thinner than regular- I guess- sized, um peens to have sex with so that's why I saw

[blows aggressively] Beauty hair all over this- I mean sorry oh my god!

I saw this on the website and I was like I need to try this.

So um I'm just gonna let you know that there is a color difference and the reason is because I made a mistake

and I was like oh yeah I get the caramel one.

No I don't, I don't. I thought that this was the caramel color but it's not.

But that's okay, I really don't mind because then that means that you guys see that there- the different color variations.

So this is, I'm gonna try to- I'm using the dick on my viewfinder to literally click on the fucking weiner

so that you can see in detail. Anyway so you see that there is a difference here-

there is a darker color as well, and these also come in different colors now like velvet and purple and shit like that.

Which is like, really really cool because some people don't like like the realistic looking stuff so yeah!

So lets talk about this one today. So a lot of the things that I'm gonna say are kind of a repeat from

the ultra/the fuze dildo because it is the same thing, on the website it says like this is like the brother

or the sister dildo of that one, um the only difference is that its uncut!

And for some reason Chaseypoo has an obsession with fucking uncut dicks lately.

Like literally, I'm not even kidding like right over there there's the peecock- it's uncut

there's an uncut Pierre packer somewhere down here, I don't even, maybe that- is that all I have?

And then I have this one? No there's nothing else? Really? Huh!

I think I'm getting something in the mail that is uncut from like a different company though...

I think so- yes! FreeToM is finally sending me something to review!

I know that y'all are waiting but they're coming I just- I like spoiled it for you but there you go.

They're sending me something- I'm pretty sure it's uncut.

Um so! Chaseypoo is obsessed with uncut. [gentle blow]

Lets talk about it shall we? Lets hope that that's focused.

So you can see that there are details theres- they're like pretty veiny

and where the actual- it's focusing on me and not the dick again still

Really? You know what it keeps focusing on me because the dick doesn't have a face.

I should draw a happy face on the dick so that it actually focuses on it.

Come on, whatever. So the foreskin here you can see, um if I put it beside the fuze

it is a little bit bigger. The difference between- eh- this one and this one is- sorry my chair is moving

and my f- whatever- is that it is a little bit shorter. Which is not really good if you like the length.

Um, I will say about the fuze it is very good for like first time anal or people who like anal but don't like something

big up there because it is thin and it's very good for that

This one is also good for anal if you like something bigger at the top. So it has a head.

Whereas that one doesn't really have a head, and that's good. Now the skin is not retractable-

that's not a thing. I know people keep saying the Reelmagik STP or whatever the one it's retractable-

it is not retractable. The skin moves, it's not retractable though. Like it- you can lift it, you just can't move it.

I wish it did! But it doesn't.

Um unfortunately I'm not reviewing that. I wish I would but they're not sending it to me.

Um but um I have not found a peen to date that has retractable- how hard can it be!

Anyways, we're talking about this beautiful thing which I absolutely recommend okay.

If we're doing that thing like how many dicks does Chase give this one out of ten- out of ten okay?

For this one [blows] if the fuze is like an eight out of ten, I would give this one a seven out of ten.

Now the reason why is because the foreskin is a little bit uncomfortable, um because the veins

are just a little bit higher up here for some reason, for my anatomy, me, inside, when I'm using it on myself

um in the front, it feels just a little too much. It feels like oh that is too many ridges.

Some people really like that though, but for me not so much.

In par- in terms of like having sex with a partner it's the same thing as the fuze.

When you put you harness on or the underwear harness that you have or anything that you like on you,

this part will rub against your junk, which feels really great.

I would recommend putting lube on here- always water based lube, no silicone.

This is made out of silicone, it's just gonna erode the whole thing- erode? Dramatic.

Um don't use silicone lube on this. Use water based lubes on this and um yeah.

So you put it here so that when your peen is touching this it actually rubs on it.

And I know that it looks hard and you're like, Chase how can that even feel good? Trust me it feels really great.

Plus you have a hole in the back and you're like why do you keep sticking your finger in that?

It's because there's a bullet that goes in here which you can get, um as part of the ensemble on the website.

And when you press it, when you press it, when you- are you kidding kidding me it was just working before!

Oh my, thank god I have like seven of these. Hah the batteries out wonder why haha!

I've made that joke before I know but about other vibrating toys.

Oh this is weak! Okay well there you go now its working.

So you can't- whatever- you can't really hear it but it vibrates like this and um from what I have said

in the fuze, um the person that I had had sex with um using the fuze I had had sex with someone analy

and they said it felt really good to have like a dick that vibrates in their ass. So that's really great!

Um, I also would agree to that so that's two people saying it's good so obvi it's the right thing to say.

But yes when this is on your junk it feels really really really good because it rubs on you.

If you're super sensitive, um- I am very sensitive- you just have to be careful of the positioning.

If you are not on hormones or if you don't have that much growth down there in the peen area

you can still use this because I know that there are a lot of cis women who use this

so it's not just for trans guys, it's not built for trans guys but it is really great for trans guys

cus we have all this like extra space for our peen to like go on, but if you don't have any growth you can

absolutely still use this. I feel like this is a very realistic looking one, this one specifically,

because it has a head and because of the foreskin.

Um, the other one the head is really not that realistic because it's very thin, I mean yes some dicks look

like that but aesthetically for me it doesn't feel like it's- I mean unless I'm doing anal like I don't really care but

I don't know it's different, this one I feel like the only negative- only negative thing that I have about this

is that the veins are just a little too poppy for me, something you can deal with over time though,

and that it's just a little bit shorter. Some people don't like that, I'm okay with that I don't know some

people have like really long fucking holes that they're putting these things in.

Good for you, okay? Good for you.

[snickers][drops toy]

Alright and Chase, what harness do you use with this?

Hah! Thank you for asking Chase! haha oh my god it's- I put this on the floor and I just cleaned my floors

and there's fucking Beauty hair all over the part.

This is the spare parts harness. It is a beautiful harness, it's the jock.

I recommend this harness for every fucking dick that I own up in here, except the ones I haven't reviewed yet

Like this, the peecock, not reviewed yet. Just calm your tits it's gonna be reviewed soon.

This is the jock harness. It looks really complicated, there's straps everywhere. It is amazing.

Please go see my review I will put in the description.

It is pricey. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, okay. This dick is not super pricey, it's $62USD okay?

On the website, I will link it below. Use my link in the description below and use the discount code Chase16

I believe is what it is but it will be in the description blah blah blah

But um go see the review of this harness so that you can see what I'm talking about, don't base it off of this video

because I do like explain it in detail in that review. But just to give you a little idea of this harness-

so, I'm not gonna put it on me I'm feeling a little dysphoric actually ahaha for some reason today

uh bad day, bad day. If you've been paying attention I actually made this video this week okay so I'm having

a bad day because people keep flagging my review videos so if you're aware of this, awesome, if you're

not please go on my Facebook page because I talked about it, I ranted, I cried a lot, but lets just go to it.

So I a- look at me making a video on the week and actually posting it.

Um yes so here is how it would be and then this harness is really great because you actually have

a slot here open and if you want to close it up, if you don't want this part to be on you or if its too much

you can actually just close the curtain, and then if you want you can open it.

And then the vibe is very accessible, and you don't actually have to hold your dick in place.

Sometimes with some peens, like the Realdoe you actually have to hold it even with kind of a harness

kind of? Because it's a little uncomfortable and the way that it's positioned is a little weird, but with this dick

you don't have to. With this harness especially like, this harness is made to not be adjusted.

Like you adjust it one and because it's like elastic-y you don't have to keep strapping all these straps everywhere

which is really ideal for this dick cus you could just, you wham bam, just go in and out and you do the thing

and Chase has dicks on his face and yes!

Anyway I hope this review was helpful. If it is not I am sorry ha.

If you enjoyed it, fantastic for you! If I could stop dropping the dicks that would be really great.

I just stepped on it. Can you imagine I'm using this tonight? Like I don't, I have no one to use it on but

[blows aggressively] at this current moment. Do you like that noise that I'm making?

I'm sure it sounds really great on the camera.

Um, if you have any products that you'd like me to review please put them in the description.

Know that I have contacted a lot of these companies to send me things and a lot of them are sending me things

a.k.a. the Peecock has sent me this and I am so excited to review this because it's uncut and it looks so good.

Oh my god I don't even want to go into that right now. And I also have this one over here,

the Hugo, which is very big and this is gonna be an interesting review,

and then I have the BJ- whatever, we ain't going into this.

Thank you for watching, I love you so much. Thank you so much for supporting me through

this week that has been horrible for me. If you would like to buy this toy or any other toys that I've ever reviewed

please go in the description, I will link all of my playlist, all of my reviews to the products I talked about today

and if you click on the link to buy this I actually get commission and you get a discount

so it works for all of us. Like I said all of these reviews are always honest, like I reviewed things like that one

over there that wasn't really that amazing but, you know, I reviewed it, I have to.

I like reviewing these things even if they're bad.

Let me know what you think! Have a great day! Bye!

HOW TO GET FREE MONEY FROM YOUR EMPLOYER | Financially Fabulous with Limor - Duration: 8:22.

welcome to another financially fabulous

episode I'm Limor

and while i'm not a financial planner

i'll show you what i've learned today

I'm going to be talking about how to

access free money from your employers

and my friend Kate is going to be joining me

come on this will be fabulous

so many people are curious about how to

get free money from their employers

that I've got my friends Kate from the

youtube channel Fun&Fulfilled here to talk

about it with me today

thanks so much for joining oh thank you

for having me i know this is a question

that you and a lot of your followers and

even my followers end up asking us

okay how do I get some of that free money so

I'm super pumped to talk about it today

yeah i think the real question is like

what is this free money how do matching

programs work what are you know the

constraints around it and how do you

even find out if your company offers it

maybe we even start with that

yeah people even find out whether this

is a benefit that they can tap into so

you'd actually surprised know a lot of

medium-sized companies and most large sized

companies have this and so when you get a

new job and you get like a stack of

files from HR usually they stick

it in there and I don't know why, it's always filled with

so much jargon and so if you've

got a stack of papers and you haven't

taken a look at that you can just go

talk to the HR department within your

organization there's usually someone

that can you can speak to you and

sometimes they have a 1-800 number of

reasons and what I seriously encourage

you to do is ask as many questions as

you can and there's nothing wrong with

saying like hey I'm new to the company

I don't know how it works because you

want to make sure that you understand

the nuances every single company's

program is really really different

so what are some of the more common

matching program do they have to do with

actually investing in retirement

savings or things like that I've heard

of that happening and most large

companies I've worked

yes there's a number of different kinds

you're absolutely right one of the ones

that's more popular is matching of

retirement and basically like let's

think about it this way the company

wants to incentivize you to put money in

your retirement fund

so essentially what they usually allow

you to do is put a percentage of your

salary so 1% or 2% or 3%

it's usually in that range can be a little

higher little bit lower but if you put

in three percent of your salary what the

company will often do is match that

portion so that's why we actually talked

about it's free money so he if let's say

I'm making a hundred thousand dollars

just because the numbers are super easy

and three percent i could put in my

retirement plan and they will match

that, so if I put in $3,000 the company

will put in $3,000 that's why we

call it matching that's also why you can

hear it sometimes talked about as a

hundred percent return on investment but

the biggest thing that I hear is like

oh it's so complicated I don't understand

it as well as like I'm not really planning to

be with the company that long and the really

big ones out here like all I maybe i'll

be here for two years

what's the point why should i start to

invest and then before you know it then

maybe two years four years five years

and you've missed out on all that free

money along the way and i think i've

seen some companies will have a vesting

period

yeah I'm but you know in some cases that

could be relatively short and if you

want to go into that and let me explain

part of me so basically the portions so

not your own money the part that you put

in your first $3,000 you

can tap into that and you can usually

get that at any point in time depending

on whether you invested it right so if

you locked into something you may not be

able to access it but the amount of

money that the company is putting in so

there are three thousand dollars every

company will have a different vesting

schedule and what that means this how

long is that money in there before you

can access it so locked pretty much

locked in and some companies will have

like a one-time fix vesting schedule that says

ok once you've been

with the company for two years if you

leave at two years and one day

no problem you can take your money with

you leave at four years you can take your

money with you

some companies actually have a rolling

vesting schedule so that if they

match three thousand dollars this year

and it's two years later you can take

that out but next year's you'll have to

wait two years from when they match that

that's I think a piece that can be

a little bit tricky for people to know

one thing that i find to be great about

a program like this is that the money in

most cases at least in my experience is taken out

right away under paycheck which helps in

terms of your own budgeting and you won't

necessarily tempted to spend it and

then at the end of the month be looking to try

to kind of find those three percent and

then you know investment somewhere in

your experience has it generally been you

know it operates that way where it's

actually taken off the top HUGE

always always taken off on top and the

cool thing is if you're actually

contributing to your retirement fund

depending on how large the company is

they'll actually often take the money

pre-tax

ok so for contributing to your

retirement funds i know it's this way in

canada and the u.s. obviously if you put

money into your retirement fund after

you pay've taxes

it could be a tax offset or it can allow

you to get some money back through a

refund at your next time but we can

do it directly through your company

the money is taken before your taxes

actually your money starts to work a bit

harder for you okay and I guess you're

actually starting to earn returns and

you get paid every two weeks you'd be

starting to earn returns every two week

period when that additional sort of

investment takes place

yeah that wasn't a one-time that's

actually why you'll hear a lot of times

when it's like time to put your money in

your retirement you know they always say

do it on an ongoing basis so that you'll

start to get those returns right way they

can also talk about it as like

offsetting like sometimes you might buy

when its higher or sometimes you may

buy when it's low but if you're buying

every couple of weeks then it kind of

offsets and evens out the price but not

even to worry too much about that

the important thing is exactly like Kate

said hello

you'll be getting free money and you

don't even have to worry about because if the

money comes off your paycheck every

single month or every two weeks when you

get paid

you're not going to miss it right that

brings me to my tweetable today you

won't miss the money that you don't have

so if the money is being put right away

into the account and then all of a

sudden the end of the year you check

you're like WOOOW where that balance come from

you've been putting money aside on a

regular basis your company's been

matching money for you

it's a really really great way to have

your retirement or your saving funds

grow and if you're breaking into small

pieces i know that's something that you

preach which is you know micro goals and

making things easier to actually achieve

on a shorter term basis so if every

paycheck every two weeks three percent

of your salary is getting off the topic

or tweetable money they are not

necessarily going to miss think about

how much that you really accumulate over

time it's going to totally totally

compound and you're really really not

gonna miss it and it is sometimes you

can top up with your year-end bonus too!

so that's another popular thing when

you get your year-end bonus you can

fill out a form in advance that allows

you to take some of that money and put

it straight into your year-end bonus so

being taxed so something else to think

about

yeah especially if it's going right into

your retirement

fund is a great way to think about it a

lot of little nuances and every single program

is different every single every single

program is different every single

company is different but essentially

there's free money to be had, hello why don't

you be financially fabulous and go out and do

it i know those forms are filled with

jargon i know that it may take a

little bit of a bit of persistence but

my challenge to each of you is if you

haven't been taking advantage of the

matching program start by going your HR

finding out what's the 1-800 number given

a call

finding out how you can take advantage

of this program and how you can start to

get free money and then if you are

already set up that is awesome but make

sure that you're maximizing your getting

all the free money it's the best way to

get some extra cash in your pocket so

we hope that you liked this video and

that you learned something love it if you

would subscribed to my channel and if

you've got any questions for either

myself or Kate leave them in the

Don't Lose Yourself In The Illusions That Surround You - Duration: 2:52.

Dont Lose Yourself In The Illusions That Surround You

by Adeana M. Slater,

It seems as though the political arena has attracted much attention as of late.

You can see opposing sides and arguments.

It has not only crowded the social media but also our minds.

Suddenly those who were making great strides in soul empowerment and consciousness, are

suddenly caught up in the web of anger, fear, and despair.

Choose to take a step back and see with higher awareness that all challenging situations

are the biggest catalyst for change not only in the outer world, but within yourself.

When we see opposing sides, rather than fight amongst each other, keep an open heart and

mind.

There is no right or wrong, only perception.

We learn from adversity the most.

It brings sharper focus and determination all that needs to change in order to bring

us closer together as ONE, rather than push us further apart.

A unified voice is much stronger and louder than a multitude of voices all talking over

one another in utter chaos.

There is nothing wrong with sticking up for yourself and that which you feel most passionate

about.

However, choose to be discerning in how much power you are giving away fighting others

in unnecessary drama.

There is a healthy way to be proactive, and still maintain in control of your life and

reality.

2017 is all about new beginnings.

The intense energy surrounding you is supporting you to focus on yourself in order to bring

about positive, healthy changes.

Things, people, and situations that no longer resonate with you are beginning to feel stagnate

and heavy in your energy field.

This is for you to recognize all that needs to be shifted out of your life for the new

blessings to enter.

In order for new to enter, the old must be let go of and transmuted.

Take advantage of this time for self reflection sand reevaluation.

As we all become more passionate and aware of the changes we wish to see in the world,

we must first BE that change.

Change starts from within first and then effects our outer reality.

Dont lose yourself in these worldly illusions that surround you.

I believe in you!! ??
