Fascism vs Democracy - What's The Difference? - Political Comparison - Duration: 5:18.

Throughout history, the world has seen the rise and fall of numerous types of political

ideologies.

>From Feudalism to Monarchy, Communism to Democracy, humanity has almost always chosen some form

of government over anarchy.

With politics seeming to show up in everyone's news feed now more than ever before, and with

the word 'fascist' being slung around more and more, we thought it would be interesting

to take a closer look at the two forms of government currently pulling at the United

States, in this episode of The Infographics Show; Fascism vs Democracy.

Fascism is a political philosophy that exalts nation and often race over the individual.

The term is derived from the latin "fasces," which is a bound bundle of wooden rods, often

including an axe with its blade emerging, an obvious symbol of power.

Fascism is usually coupled with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial

leader that typically imposes severe social and economic regimentation, along with the

forceful suppression of any opposition.

Similar to socialism, the economic regimentation of fascism is a big pillar of the ideology.

However, the two differ in that socialism seeks direct, totalitarian control of the

economic process, while fascism seeks similar control, but more indirectly.

Socialism would do things like nationalize property explicitly and abolish market relations

outright, while fascism would require property to be used for the good of nation, but still

allow for it to be owned privately, leaving the appearance of market relations, while

manipulating the market behind the scenes.

On the other hand, Democracy, which literally means "ruled by the people," is a political

system in which all members have an equivalent access to power.

Democracy is looked at as one of the oldest political systems on Earth.

While modern-day democracies are quite a bit more complex, scientists believe that simple

forms of democracy known as tribalism, or primitive democracy, could have existed for

thousands of years.

The origins for a more complex form of democracy is often thought to have originated around

the turn of the 5th century B.C. with the Greeks in Ancient Athens.

The term democracy actually derives from the Greek word "demos," which means people.

However, even Ancient Athens was a far cry from the democracies of today since large

portions of their society weren't allowed to participate, most notably slaves and women.

True democracies do not disqualify any group of people from having a say in government.

Perhaps surprisingly, Finland is the first government to herald a more fair democracy

at the national level when, in 1906, it was the first to abolish both race and gender

requirements for voting and serving in government.

Other modern forms of democracy are seen today in places like Canada, Australia, and many

countries in Europe.

Fascism has seen quite a collection of political leaders try to spread its ideologies as well,

even though it is a relatively new concept compared to democracy.

Benito Mussolini turned Italy into the first fascist country in 1922, and he is known as

one of the most prominent architects of fascism.

Many fascist parties, like China's Blue Shirts Society, popped up soon after, and

even places like Canada had fascist fringe groups.

Adolf Hitler is also seen as a fascist, though some are misled by the name of his political

party and think he was a socialist.

Hitler adapted Germany to fascism in 1933 with the Nazi, or National Socialist German

Workers' Party.

According to the officials of the Nobel Prize, only four places in the world actually claim

NOT to be democracies; Vatican City, Saudi Arabia, Burma, and Brunei.

In reality, regardless of how they label themselves, over 100 other countries have either non-democratic

governments or only partially democratic governments.

In today's political climate, there have been growing comparisons between the current

President of the United States' Donald Trump and fascist leaders of the past.

Many cite his growing list of policies and executive orders to be akin to fascism.

His views on suppression of the media and anyone that differs from or criticizes him

can also come across as similar to suppression by fascism.

Also, his Muslim Ban, his promise to build a wall on the Mexican border, his seemingly

sexist views on women, and his choice of cabinet picks rife with conflicts of interest, all

lead many to believe that America just elected its first fascist.

Comparisons of the Trump regime to fascism is upsetting to many people because they feel

the democracy of the US is being threatened.

However, while the United States of America is often thought of as simply a democracy,

it is actually a little more complicated than that.

The United States is considered a republic rather than a democracy, but the most accurate

term for the United States is "representative democracy."

The citizens of the US rarely, if ever, have direct say in their government, but rather

they elect officials to make political decisions on their behalf.

While this is hardly as firm as the grip of fascism, it is a little different than a direct

democracy.

Differing forms of government have risen and fallen, and will probably continue to do so

for the foreseeable future.

Do you think Fascism can ever rise again, and, if so, could it be a suitable form of

government in today's society?

What is the shooting stars meme? A look at the history and origin of the Bag Raiders Song Meme - Duration: 5:00.

Hello Internet!

And Welcome To Behind The Meme!!!

Today we have a look at shooting stars!

Thank you so very much to all of my amazing viewers who requested a video on this topic.

Music memes are always my favorite and this one is extra enjoyable with the way it's

being used so I'm super excited to get into it!

Let me know what you would like to see next and maybe I'll be able to make it happen!

You guys wanted it now you have it!

Here We GO!!!

So what exactly is shooting stars?

I'm pretty sure we all know what shooting stars are.

Those beautiful things up in the sky at night that make you feel like anything is possible.

But the meme version of shooting stars is a little bit different…and when I say a

little bit different what I really mean is a whole lot different.

That's because the shooting star that we're talking about today isn't a meteor that's

burning up as it enters earths atmosphere.

Oh no This shooting stars is the title of a song!

A song that goes a little something like this!

(Music)

The song was originally released in 2008 by a musician duo known as bag raiders who also

happen to be aussies …I guess that it doesn't matter that they're austrailian I just wanted

to do this accent eh?

Do I sound austrailian eh? or is this an english accent eh?

I'm not sure anymore…

You know what? it's a little cringe even for me.

I'm just gonna shut up now.

The song had minor success when it was first released and quietly vanished into their catalog

of music as they continued to create new music throughout the years.

Well, as we've learned in the past, in the meme world just because something is old doesn't

mean that it can't be used in new and interesting ways.

Now since as early as 2015 the song has been used to accompany videos online in various

ways that really didn't follow a defined pattern.

Like this video right here that served as a tribute to our fallen brother

Harambe.

(MUSIC)

Now the meme really started to gain popularity and take shape in early 2017 when a theme

started to form.

The intro to the song is calm and mellow right before a drop when the song picks up a bit

and becomes more energetic.

(MUSIC)

Well that spot in the song is the spot that is being used to create memes.

The format of having a video of somebody jumping from an area and at the same time that the

music changes having the background of the video change to stars space or various other

locations has began to take shape.

One of the examples to really put the meme into the spotlight and give its popularity

some momentum was titled "fat man does amazing dive"

Do It!

(Music)

after seeing that video you can start to see the format that is beginning to take place

And after this years super bowl halftime show with lady gaga the meme really started to

take off.

Because of her introduction it fit perfectly with the meme it's almost

like they were meant to go together.

(MUSIC)

Now if you ask me why this has all started to happen I have one simple answer for you…because

the internet.

There's not always a reason to why this sort of thing happens, but you know what?

I'm not complaining.

Good music.

Good memes.

Sign me up any day of the week!

Well except for Wednesdays…

I have to go see my therapist on Wednesdays!

Or Saturdays, On Saturdays I have to go do community service because of that one thing

I did with that mannequin last summer.

Listen!

It was consensual!

But any other day of the week besides those two days, I am good!

so there you have it shooting stars has gone from a song that is almost 10 years old and

has become a fresh meme for a new generation

But hey!!!

That's the internet for you and on the internet memes are king thank you all so very much

for watching make sure to subscribe so you can catch my next video and stay up to date

on all your favorite memes and trends!!

Who knows you may learn about something you have never seen before!

I'll catch you beautiful people next time!!!

Spongebob hows it going?

Patrick!!

Banana Peel!!!

Don't!

What did you say?

The Oscars' voting process awards safe movies [UPDATED] - Duration: 3:32.

This year a grand technicolor film about showbiz is a favorite for best picture at the Oscars.

Yes, it was well regarded amongst critics and audiences around the country.

But is La La Land hands down the best film of the year?

Is it good enough to beat out films like Moonlight that are widely considered more daring and

unique?

History says yes.

Because the oscar voting process favors mediocrity.

Back in 2009 the the Academy switched from a straight popular vote to instant runoff

voting or preferential voting.

The Academy wanted to better insure that the film with the broadest support won.

But the other side of that coin is that bold, polarizing films get pushed to the side.

At its most basic level, instant runoff voting involves ranking a number of choices rather

than choosing just one.

Then the choice with the fewest votes is removed.

And then those who voted for that candidate have their votes counted according to their

second-favorite candidate.

Then the candidate that now has the fewest votes is removed, and so on.

It goes all the way until a candidate has 50% + 1 of the vote.

This applies to both the nominations process (although that does get a little weedy) and

the process of selecting a best picture winner.

So, how would instant runoff voting ultimately play out in a real scenario?

Let's look at 2011 where the King's Speech beat out: 127 hours, The Fighter, Black Swan,

Winter's Bone, True Grit, Inception, The Social Network, and The Kids are Alright.

All these films were probably 1st place picks on a lot of ballots and dead last on others.

It's very possible that the passionate fan bases of each of these films all had the King's

speech ranked 2nd or 3rd.

When their 1st place vote wasn't enough to stay in the game their 2nd place votes

were counted and re-added to the mix, ultimately allowing The King's Speech to come from

behind.

Because the King's Speech had the broadest support rather than the most passionate support,

it took home the prize.

The new voting system seems to favor a certain type of film.

Todd: We've had instant runoff voting for 6 years and fully half of those films have

been movies about the movies.

And I'd count the King's Speech as being adjacent to that.

It's a film about performance and elocution.

Think Birdman, Argo, The Artist.

The Academy is made of 6000 film industry professionals who probably enjoy movies about

themselves.

They might not rank a film about showbiz as number 1 but many might place it 2nd or third

which is precisely where it's most dangerous.

In 2005 before instant runoff voting was instituted, Crash, won best picture.

It's a film people either despise or love.

Todd: Crash is the worst best picture of all time but there are people out there who really

love that movie.

I think we really want those movies that inspire those extreme reactions one way or another.

Sometimes the movie wins that you hate and sometimes the movie that you love.

I'd rather see that than the movie that everyone was kind of okay with.

In fact, Crash beat out a film that might have easily have won in today's instant runoff

system: A period film about entertainment (the radio industry) directed by Hollywood

royalty, George Clooney: Goodnight, and Good Luck.

10 SHOCKING Facts McDonald's Doesn't Want You To Know - Duration: 8:01.

Welcome to Top10Archive!

In 2012, the fast food chain, McDonald's entered a so-called "Age of Transparency."

No longer would it hide grotesque secrets about its food, forcing the chain to turn

to healthier alternatives a fast food joint could be proud of ... eh, yeah … Despite

their efforts, however, we're still able to drudge up these ten facts that they probably

don't want you to know!

10.

Not the Largest Fast Food Chain For as long as many of us can probably remember,

McDonald's has been the largest "go-to" restaurant in the world, but it's not a

title it holds any longer.

It may advertise itself as the largest hamburger fast food chain restaurant, but in 2010, Subway

surpassed McDonald's as the largest fast food chain with 33,749 locations, beating

out McD's by 1,012 stores.

Currently, Subway holds strong with over 44,000 restaurants while McDonald's has topped

out at just over 36,000.

9.

Extra Ingredients Some people like surprises.

Others don't.

What both types of people have in common is that they don't like surprises in their

food.

For instance, we can't imagine anyone would appreciate finding a used bandage in their

fries, as Lauren Coleman of Illinois did in 2005, or the dead rat that Todd Haley, former

Dallas Cowboys assistant coach, found in a salad in 2006.

Foreign objects in its food are apparently such an issue that the company has made public

apologies for such things as a human tooth and a metal piece found in a pancake.

8.

Sugar Galore If you're in need of a sugar fix but don't

really want sweets, McDonald's can help!

In 2016, the company announced plans to remove high-fructose corn syrup from its buns and

replace it with pure sugar.

Somebody not really paying attention will see the removal of corn syrup as a push in

a healthier direction, but let us not forget the inclusion of sugar.

While it's not unheard of to use sugar in bread to speed up the rising process, McDonald's

numbers seem… a little high.

For a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, you'll be gobbling up 10 g of sugar or about 40%

of your daily intake suggested by the World Health Organization.

Somehow, that's only 3 grams less than three of the restaurant's hotcakes.

7.

Tax Avoidance One way to really get the people to crowd

around and support you is by being a multi-billion-dollar corporation that avoids paying taxes.

Right?

Between 2009 and 2013, the massive corporation was able to divert revenue in its European

market, leading to an alleged tax avoidance of over $1.1 billion.

Chump change!

The avoidance strategy is said to include moving the European headquarters from the

United Kingdom to Switzerland while also channeling royalty payments into a subsidiary in Luxembourg

with a Swiss branch.

6.

Federal Bailouts If the United States federal bailout of banks

and McDonald's alleged tax avoidance scheme infuriated you, you may want to take your

blood pressure medicine right about meow.

During the long string of federal bailouts that started around 2007, over $3 trillion

was doled out to a long list of entities, and if you pay close attention to the drab

list of unknown corporations that are apparently important, one very familiar one may stand

out – McDonald's.

The burger conglomerate was on the receiving end of $203 million during the United States

economic crisis.

Despite receiving the federal money as if it was on a path to collapse, from 2007 to

2010, McDonald's continued to show growth in comparable sales and earnings per share.

5.

Cage-Free Calamity With McDonald's push for complete transparency,

the company also made some changes to its food supply that seems more humane.

Rather than get eggs from caged birds, McDonald's made the switch to cage-free chickens, but

while the phrase "cage-free" sounds like a step in the right direction, it may not

be the change you expected.

Cage-free hens may not live in cages, but they may be subject to extremely tight living

spaces, reduced contact with sunlight, and a higher potential for exposure to diseases

and injury.

In fact, a five-year study into the living conditions of caged and cage-free chickens

produced surprising results that showed a higher mortality rate in a cage-free system.

4.

Abused Birds As if cramped quarters and higher mortality

rates weren't bad enough, McDonald's attempt at ridding the negative stigma of caged hens

isn't going in the direction it expected.

In 2015, an undercover PETA investigator equipped with a hidden camera caught upsetting footage

of the conditions at a Tyson Food farm used by McDonald's for its chicken supply.

In the video, birds were recorded being beaten and abused.

Workers were seen stepping on their beaks and pulling on their bodies to break their

neck.

The nonchalant brutality of the workers and disregard for deplorable conditions may outweigh

the cramped conditions of a caged environment.

3.

Employee Warning Nothing should give you a warmer and fuzzier

feeling about a product than when the 3rd party employee resource's website warns

employees not to indulge in the product they're selling.

Of course, the warning to employees, long-since removed, is just the HR department's way

of covering the company's rear as the food is far too accessible to employees, but as

a consumer, it's still disheartening to see something like "eat at places that offer

a variety of salads, soups, and vegetables to maintain your best health."

It's all obvious information, but when you read it and then hear CEO Don Thompson defend

McDonald's by saying they "don't sell junk food," you have to wonder who is pulling

your leg.

2.

The McDonald's Addiction Perform a Google search for "McDonald's

Addiction" and you'll be met with multiple stories across many pages about an alleged

addiction to McDonald's food.

It's no secret that there are substances like dextrose in the food that plays to our

dopamine receptors, which is how we get stories like that of Stacey Irvine.

At the time of her tale in early 2016, Stacey was 17 years old and had been living on a

diet of chicken nuggets and French fries since she was a toddler.

She couldn't get enough of the McDonald's bite-sized treat and refused to break away

from her habit despite multiple warnings.

In February of 2016, Stacey collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where she was found

to have anemia and breathing complications.

The teen survived but is joined by many self-proclaimed "McDonald's Addicts."

1.

The "Healthier" Options If you think you'll be able to walk into

a McDonald's and actually get something healthy off of the menu, you may be sorely

mistaken; that is unless you order sliced apples from the kid's menu.

The fact of the matter is the chain's "healthier" options, like the oatmeal and salads, tend

to be on par with, say, a simple burger.

For instance, if you go for the southwest salad with grilled chicken, you'll be eating

just ten fewer calories and 4 grams less fat than if you just had a burger, and that's

not counting the dressing.

The fruit and maple oatmeal without brown sugar, which disguises itself as a fairly

healthy option, packs just 40 calories less than an Egg McMuffin.

Eating Loco Moco, Turkey Tail, and Fried Chicken At A Honolulu Institution — Dining on a Dime - Duration: 8:26.

on the western part of

Honolulu in sort of an urban, industrial

area, and where we're going right now is a

place that I am very excited about. It

has come recommended from chefs and non-

chefs, locals and tourists alike. It's

called Ethel's Grill. It is a Honolulu

institution.

It's been there in its current

incarnation for nearly 40 years. What it

does is serve local favorites: fried

chicken, loco moco, not necessarily the

traditional plate lunch which you would

see with an entree and macaroni salad

and scoops of rice but things that have

become staples in the community over the

decades that it has served it. So it is a

place that is beloved far and wide and yet

it still retains its local feel. We're

headed there right now and I can't wait

to see what it's all about.

This place is super cool, could you, I

know you're really busy,

just tell me a little bit about the

history of the restaurant? "My mom and dad

opened the restaurant in 1979. Mom has

retired about three months ago, she would

have been here. She's tired

of working.

So now she's singing karaoke all

day with her friends." Didn't an Ethel's

Restaurant exist before?

"There was an original Ethel,

but my mom and dad were too

cheap to change the sign so they

kept Ethel's Grill as is."

There's a lot of sumo stuff on the walls.

"For mom and dad, sumo is their

favorite sport." Is there a lot of sumo

on TV from Japan? Are your parents from

Japan? "Mom's from Okinawa, dad's from

Tokyo." Where do the recipes come from?

"Dad was a chef but they needed an entire team,

so three years ago my husband

took over. We're going to get you a mochiko chicken."

I saw someone get a local moco,

it looks really good.

"Try the local moco." And then also maybe

the chicken.

Yeah tell me a little bit about the

turkey tails. "We marinate and then

cook it and then we deep-fry it until it is nice

and tender falls off the bone. Really fatty

really rich, it's a lot of goodness."

Can I get one?

"A sample? Yeah."

Awesome amazing.

Aloha! Now I understand that you

grew up in the area just a couple blocks

away. "Two blocks away, right over here."

i was interested to learn that this was

actually your first time here. "This is my

very first time." You grew up two blocks

away!

"It's kind of amazing, when we walked to

the shoreline, we just go straight

down that way, so we never

discovered or passed this way."

Now that you have been here, did

you enjoy it? "We have, the food was

delicious.

This is sort of like a real

local-style food you know, so it's a

good place to bring out-of-town

guests, get kinda like a local flavor."

That's beautiful, thank you.

This food looks outstanding. So what we

have here is a plate of local moco, a

plate of the mochiko chicken, and special

request for me,

deep-fried turkey tail. We're gonna start

with the loco loco moco. It's a traditional dish

in the pantheon of the cuisine of Hawaii.

Legend has it the dish actually

originated in Hilo at a small restaurant

in the late forties early fifties when a

bunch of teenagers went into some grill

one day and wanted something to eat and

wanted it fast and the owner put some

rice in a piece of meat, poured gravy all

over it and said, "Here you rowdy kids, eat this!"

And they liked it and i think the egg

came later. One of the group of the

teens' nickname was "Crazy" and they

just thought it would be funny to call it

local moco, according to my research.

That is actually the story of loco

moco, however, they were onto something

because the dish grew in popularity and

is now considered one of the

quintessential dishes here on the

islands.

It consists of plain white rice,

hamburger patty which with onion,

seasoning, a couple of fried eggs,

and then the whole thing is

slathered in a beef base gravy thickened with

flour. It is a practical filling

delicious lunch.

This is a really thick nicely charred

meat patty, you can see how it's blackened

on the outside so it's almost like a

nice and crunchy on the outside which is

brilliant.

There's a good piece of meat. It

doesn't resemble a hamburger, it

resembles sort of like a little more

loosely packed meatloaf flavored heavily

with onions and spices. There's

nothing exceptional to the individual

components of this dish but

offer together something very

satisfying. The yolk running down mixes

in with this thick beef-based flour gravy,

it tastes like almost maybe

like it has a little bit of maybe with

your identity and it is delicious.

I can see why this dish stood the test

of time over the decades. We're going to

move on. This chicken looks great.

This is the mochiko chicken served with

a scoop of white rice. The scoop of white

rice is a common sight during lunch time

here in Hawaii. The plate lunch, which is

typically an entree, two scoops of white

rice and macaroni salad, is one of the most

popular things to eat.

This kind of resembles it. Now the

chicken as was explained to me by Naka

is marinated in like a shoyu, ginger,

internal secret recipe marinade and then

it is breaded in a light mochiko flour

and mochiko flour is rice flour, so

that should have a much lighter

cleaner taste to it. A little bit of a

sauce here like a sweet ginger sauce

This is great, especially the sauce.

The chicken itself is good piece of

chicken. Thigh meat is tender, the meat is

juicy. The meat has retained a little bit

of that fermented soy and sweetness, as

well as a little bit of that

ginger, and then dipping it in the sauce

is what really kicks it up to another

level, because you see those nice bits of

minced garlic. The

ginger is great, the tartness of the

ginger really cuts through any kind of

greasiness of the chicken.

That sweet marinade is

awesome with the happiness of a piece of

fried chicken

Last but not least we have the special

honored guests, the turkey tail.

TK made an interesting comment when

she dropped this off,

she said it looks like a malasada.

Malasada for those of you who may

not know is a Portuguese doughnut

without a hole, and she's right, it looks

like a doughnut.

Look at that, she she said it was

all rich and fatty and she was right, you

can just see how greasy that is. You see

that yellow fat just running out. This is the ass end of

the turkey. It doesn't

make a lot of sense that we throw it

away,

considering we eat pigtail, considering we eat

oxtail. This is going to be like

clean vinegar sauce, which has some

pickled vegetables in there. That's

pretty good.

It's also fried in that light mochiko

flour.

Have you ever deep-fried turkey out

there any of you? I'm sure some of you

have super fast way to cook a turkey in

20 minutes. It's also a really

good way to burn down your house so be

careful all of you.

Price hawks out there, everything is

around ten dollars and you get a large

amount that will fill you up for good.

Everything we know about POPGOES 2! - Fangame Five Nights at Freddy's [PL/ENG] - Duration: 7:00.

Hello, Ponguj's here, and today I wanted to go through everything we already know about POPGOES 2.

Hope you'll enjoy ;)

For now, there's not too much info about P2.

Game is still early in the development and the team doesn't want to hype people too much before they'll get some part of the game done.

They don't want to repeat the mistakes with the first game.

But even if so, we still have something small to work with.

We've got a teaser, some clues, there's material to think about and we will talk about it in this episode.

First thing we've got about the game is a teaser showing a new, mysterious animatronic, and revealing P2 logo.

There's not much about that, barely visible animatronic, one of the antagonists in upcoming game.

But even more - this guy here is outdated.

It was mentioned lately that original modeler left the team, and because of different art styles and porting problems, new modeler had to start from scratch.

So that's why it's outdated.

At this moment, we have whole new teaser with updated model and "Stand by" text.

About both versions, some people compares this animatronic to Nightmares from FNaF4.

Kane already mentioned it repeatedly that he isn't, but even without it

this character has teeth, just teeth, it isn't much to nightmares, to concept of purposely exaggerated animatronic for scares.

And I really doubt they would make something so simple, when POPGOES 1 already showed how ambitious they are with characters and the story.

But even if first model is outdated, it's still the same character showed differently, so I don't see anything wrong with using this first version for reference.

Funny thing about this animatronic is, that we're not sure what this animatronic is.

Main types are: Dogs

Main types are: Crocodile, because of green colors

Main types are: also others like rats, bats, etc.

Well, there's still a tiny chance that this animatronic here is still Popgoes, that it's a weasel.

But well, this new teaser doesn't look like weasel, there's still an option, but I think it's unlikely.

For now it seems that this animatronic may be some whole new character, not anybody related to original set from first game.

Leave a comment, who do you think it is, even in English ;)

On the first version of teaser, there was something strongly similar to a hat, which was one of the reasons why people thought it's Popgoes.

Unless well, maybe this hat comes from one animatronic to another now? It would be nice concept, I think.

But well, there isn't any hat or whatever it was supposed to be on the new teaser.

There is already a lot of possible concepts about this guy.

Very early one suggested, that this guy here is an skeleton.

It has a lot of potential regarding Simon, regarding Grave Stone and going that way to Fritz.

Skeletons are also good for symbolic, where Popgoes 1 had a lot of it earlier.

It could refer to burying, forgotting the original Popgoes Pizza

Well, technically the new teaser looks less like a skull, especially because of ears - they don't have bones.

But everything under the head kinda suggests skeleton, bones...

Perhaps a skeleton with a mask or something like that?

Also, because of mask color, people tries to connect him with Happiest Day masks.

And it could make sense, it would be really interesting if POPGOES 2 focused over Happiest Day masks and possibly other FNaF3 easter eggs.

But outcluding teaser, there's still more informations about the game.

On Kane's twitter there's some P2-related info from time to time.

Usually there isn't anything important (recent one tells about name reveal on 3rd March tho), but it was confirmed that Kellen Goff will provide a voice acting for POPGOES 2.

Actor, who voiced Funtime Freddy in original FNaF games.

Of course, there won't be Funtime Freddy in this game, yet the same guy is gonna provide voice for another, completely unrelated character.

After all, it's still pretty interesting information.

Also, there is a little secret hidden in popgo.es website source code.

Nothing big, doesn't explain a lot, yet it says: "cold metal, forest of (hearts + minds)"

Optionally cold, metal forest, but I'm not fully sure about that.

As I said, there's nothing much to theorise about, but it's still a material to think about.

Technically, it could refer to cold, deactivated robots.

Robots standing still one to each other just like a forest of machines.

It could make sense.

I don't know how to explain hearts and minds thing tho, something like human souls maybe?

But it wouldn't fit well in the context.

It could also refer to memories, I don't know, something like that.

There's something to think about yet as I said, these are very early teasers where P2 team doesn't want to give us too much.

And the last new thing about P2 is logo.

Except P2 symbol, we've already seen since November

We've got full POPGOES 2 title, and we can see it's pretty interesting.

There is no focus over Blackrabbit anymore, there aren't his eyes replacing two O letters.

He may not even appear in this game.

Yet we have something new - the power button.

It shows in the logo, which possibly suggests one of the main mechanics in the game.

My first thoughts were about first game, where this button could be connected to 3D Printers.

Where we had to turn the power off to prevent Popgoes from creating the parts.

Generally I wouldn't be surprised if these appeared in this game.

It could be really good.

But it's also very possible that it has something to do with this "Stand by" sentence in the teaser, that we have to turn off the robots or something like that... I dunno.

It's interesting to think about.

So... That's all in today's episode. I explained everything we already know about Popgoes 2, I think.

The game looks very promising, while we don't know hardly anything about it yet.

It's still early in development and it'll take some time until we get some big teasers, hints etc.

Remember to leave a comment, leave your thoughts, tell me who do you think is this mysterious character!

Meanwhile - see you soon in the next episodes!

Michael K. Williams Asks: Am I Typecast? #QuestionAnswers - Duration: 2:51.

You think I'm being typecast?

I don't know,

do you think this cat is typecast?

It's a f**king cat, yo

Ain't got much choice.

What if he moved to a new neighborhood

You know.

Hung out with the poodle crowd,

did poodle things?

You know. Become a poodle.

Still be a cat you know.

But what if he convinced himself

that he was a poodle

and everyone else that he was a poodle...

wouldn't that make him a poodle?

That's a good point.

Weird as s**t but

that's a good point.

Man, this whole metaphor is bulls**t, yo.

You hear me?

You think everybody don't have a role to play, huh?

You think a white boy could have played Omar?

You think you could play a president?

I could.

I think we've seen the last black president for a while.

I'm just saying.

I think you gon' always be playing some version of Mike.

Gangster Mike, old-timey gangster Mike,

Southern gangster Mike.

But I'm not a gangster.

Everyone that knows me knows that.

Self-denying gangster Mike.

Look I picked these roles.

Me.

I made this path for myself.

Did you?

Yeah, did you?

Or did they choose you?

You think we would be doing,

what we're doing if we had a choice?

Huh?

Face it man look:

We're from a certain type of people,

that come from a type of place,

that look a type of way.

You know what that makes us?

Black.

Typecast...

If I were typecast I'd be in jail or dead.

But I'm here.

I got out.

Got myself out.

You sure about that?

Yeah.

If You're a Christian, You Are in Christ - Duration: 2:09.

You maybe have already learned in your Greek classes, and everything—two of the simple prepositions

in Greek are the preposition "eis" or the preposition "en"—is the anglified

way of saying it.

But what's the difference?

When the Bible tells us to believe in Christ, it tells us to believe into.

Now to be in this room right now we are inside the room, but to come to be in this place,

we had to come through that door.

And when we were on the other side of that door, we weren't in here.

We had to move, we had to move from out there to in here.

And that movement in Greek would be "eis."

You move into something.

And we are called to believe into Jesus in our justification.

Because when we believe into Jesus, then what happens?

We are now as Paul speaks of again and again—in Christ "en Christo."

We are in Christ and Christ is in us.

And so this is part of the grand consequence of our justification.

For everyone who is justified is now brought from outside to inside and we are in Christ.

I am in Christ, and if you're Christian, you are in Christ.

And that defines how we are to relate one to another. Because how can I hate somebody

who's in Christ if I am in Christ?

How can we hate each other?

We've got to be able to love each other because together we have been justified, and we've

been brought into this family. And I'm in Jesus, He is in me.

You are in Him, and He is in you.

Russia Unveils New Navy Ice-Breaker, The First One in the Last 50 Years - Duration: 5:39.

Events began this week in Moscow honoring

the 350th anniversary of boat and shipbuilding in Russia.

They are being held by the Russian Historical Society and chaired by Sergey Naryshkin.

At one time the anniversary was the only thing to celebrate,

because it seemed that the industry was dying. But today we have entered a new era.

Our correspondent Dmitry Khrustalev visited the most modern shipyards in St. Petersburg

and the original homeland of Russian shipbuilding, which is located in the Moscow Region.

Electronic jamming equipment,

anti-aircraft weapons with below deck launchers,

and mounted guns, which are unique for Russia and the world for now.

The newest frigate, Admiral Gorshkov, is the most modern stealth warship in Russia.

Among the main advantages is its ability to travel long distances.

Final testing will begin at the end of this month,

and in summer, the frigate will go to join its fleet.

Dedinovo village near Kolomna in the Moscow Region.

Yes, Peter the Great created the first Russian fleet,

but it was during Aleksey Mikhailovich's reign, Peter I's father,

who started the shipbuilding industry.

By decree of Aleksey, the construction of a 22-gun frigate began here 350 years ago.

To construct the European class ships, the wood needed to first be dried for 1 to 3 years.

Boards and metal bars were taken from local farmers.

Some wood used was left over from the construction of a Moscow River bridge.

The construction site was not chosen randomly.

The oldest shipyard was once located near where today stands a memorial and the Trinity Church.

Dedinovo was famous for their domestic shipbuilders and carpenters.

Dutch craftsmen were invited to supervise the work.

The first domestic ship, Oryol, built using European technology, had a very unique feature.

This marine ship was able to pass across the Oka's shallow river waters

and travel up the Volga river to Astrakhan.

This was due to the draft of this sea ship only being half a meter.

However, the first voyage turned out to be the last one.

The ship came to the same place where the Stenka Razin uprising broke out and was abandoned.

Today it seems that domestic shipbuilding has all but been abandoned.

Let's go back to St. Petersburg.

A domestic know-how of the XXI century.

A sea trawler. A mine defense ship with the world's largest monolithic fiberglass hull.

This technology is being used in Russia for the first time.

This is the Baltiysky Zavod factory.

At the beginning of the last century, the first Russian combat submarine was built here.

Now, they build the most modern icebreakers here.

Today, the once world's most powerful Arctic icebreaker Krasin,

which is as old as the Russian revolution,

looks very humble next to the Arctic, the world's biggest,

most modern and most powerful two-reactor nuclear icebreaker.

Innovative design allows to adjust the depth of the ice-breaker's immersion in the water.

This means that it can lead ships not only through Arctic ice, but also into the mouths of rivers.

Length is nearly 200 meters, width 34 meters, and height is the same as a nine storey building.

Two reactors produce 175 megawatts each, enough to provide power to a major city for years.

The icebreaker can function in stand-alone mode without having to enter any port for years.

Of all the new nuclear icebreakers, the Arctic will be the main one,

which will allow Russia to rule the high latitudes.

According to experts, in the world today there is no comparison.

Due to its power and thickness of the hull, which reaches up to 40 millimeters,

the icebreaker is able to go through ice as thick as three meters.

No ship in the world can break through such ice.

On the other side of the Neva River, stands the old Admiralty Shipyards.

And there stands something else to be proud of, the icebreaker "Ilya Muromets".

It is both a tugboat and a patrol ship.

On board, it has equipment for containing oil spills and extinguishing fires at needed emergency facilities.

The new icebreaker will join the Navy for the first time in half a century.

As part of Russia's import substitution program, we were able to maximize the use

of domestic equipment to build this icebreaker, such as the power system and ship control systems.

A huge number of pumps, devices, and accessories were all made in Russia.

In general, the overall trend in recent years has been

choosing domestic suppliers of equipment and on board systems.

We have created a plan on the development of the shipbuilding industry until 2030,

which will require all relevant enterprises to work at their capacities.

First of all, we will put an emphasis on developing marine equipment.

The Northern Shipyard in St. Petersburg is impressive.

The Shipbuilding Corporation will launch their first pilot project there.

They will use all possible advanced technologies that exist in the world of shipbuilding.

It will be the northern point of building of heavy-tonnage vessels

both for military and domestic ships. It will also be the best in blank hull manufacturing.

It will allow us to move large sections regarding the building of megablocks.

It will be the first experience of building in the European part of Russia and on the Northern Shipyard.

During the 350th anniversary since the launching of Russia's first warship,

many people often speak about the importance of the domestic shipbuilding industry.

The landmark date will be here soon. It is June 29.

This was the day when Tsar Aleksey Mikhailovich issued the now famous decree.

The day, which has been repeatedly proposed to be made the official holiday of shipbuilders.

Dmitry Khrustalev, Ivan Utkin, Igor Vologdin, Stanislav Petrov,

Igor Belogurov, and Maria Bizyaeva, Vesti Saturday. Saint Petersburg, Moscow, and Dedinovo.

Los Alamos Study Finds Airport Scanners Alter DNA - Duration: 8:42.

Los Alamos Study Finds Airport Scanners Alter DNA

by Edward Morgan

Can we ever believe what our government tells us about airport security devices?

Apparently not.

First they told us those X-ray scanners (that showed way too many naked body parts) were

perfectly safe.

Even the manufacturer of the device, Rapidscan, openly admitted the scanners had not been

adequately tested.

The truth was later revealed that the safety tests turned out to be totally rigged, as

reported by Natural News.

With fabricated results, the technology was quickly rushed into every airport worldwide.

No one listened to what the scientists in the field of radiation were trying to tell

them its not safe.

It wasnt until the backscatter radiation levels the scanners were putting off began

showing an increased incidence of cancer in TSA agents (along with the lawsuits that quickly

followed), that the devices were finally yanked.

The TSA quickly scrambled for another solution.

Now they also want us to believe that the replacement technology, millimeter wave digital

strip search scanners, are also perfectly safe.

Dont believe it for a second.

The TSA failed to adequately test these devices for health and safety factors as well.

Unfortunately, in todays world, security trumps human safety.

These millimeter wave technologies are designed to bombard innocent travelers with high frequency

energy particles known as terahertz photons.

A study conducted by Boian S. Alexandrov et.al. at the Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los

Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, revealed that these terahertz waves could

unzip double-stranded DNA, creating bubbles that could significantly interfere

with processes such as gene expression and DNA replication.

In other words, this study is the smoking gun that raises serious concerns about the

impact of terahertz radiation upon fertility, fetal development, and cancer.

Now think about the thousands of people who are subjected to these levels of untested

energy particles every day in the name of National Security.

The militarys Active Denial weapon uses millimeter wave technology to create an intense

burning sensation on the skins surface using a 95 GHz (3.2mm wavelength) beam.

But the TSA tells us not to worry about their millimeter waves because:

Millimeter wave technology bounces harmless electromagnetic waves off the body to create

the same generic image for all passengers. This is completely inaccurate because the

nature of millimeter waves is that our bodies and water are excellent absorbers of these

waves.

Millimeter waves do penetrate and absorb into our skin.

At the microwave technology center in Malaysia, health subjects were exposed to microwave

radiation between 20 38 GHz, the range in which the TSA scanners operate.

They found that millimeter waves penetrated the subjects skin at depths of between

1.05 mm at 20 GHz to 0.78 mm at 38 GHz.

This is enough to penetrate below the epidermal layer of the skin.

Millimeter waves have been reported to produce a variety of bioeffects, many of which are

quite unexpected from radiation penetrated less than 1 mm into biological tissues.

Of particular concern is the citing of studies that show there is an irreversible water memory

effect by millimeter waves operating in the 36GHz frequency, and that the millimeter wave

effects on blood plasma vary greatly from one person to the next.

Does this information make you extremely uncomfortable?

Well, it should.

And it should also make every one of us mad as hell.

Since the day they first rolled out these human violation technologies in 2007, I have

always chosen to opt out.

I would rather endure the intrusive body pat down any day than subject myself to covert

DNA alteration.

So what if it takes an additional 5-15 minutes of your time getting to your gate?

Its time to exercise your own personal body health consciousness, since the US government

has clearly demonstrated they dont possess any qualms about not protecting you.

Alternation of DNA can be subtle and deadly down the line.

Who would ever make the connection that a TSA scanning machine might have contributed

to any negative health effects you eventually experience.

If you are a frequent air traveler, like myself, you should be concerned about your levels

of exposure.

If youre a TSA agent, you should find another job.

This past weekend as I was trying to make a flight back to Los Angeles from the Columbia,

South Carolina Airport, I did my usual opt out thing.

The TSA agents from this little backwater airport tried to feed me the propaganda line

about minimal risk.

I told them Id read the studies and they needed to be better informed.

They looked at me blankly trying to tell me it was just like using a cell phone.

Not true.

The millimeter wave scanners the TSA operates put out more than 20 billion times more oscillations

per second in smaller terahertz waves, so the cellular effects will be different from

cell phones.

Im sure no one ever told TSA agents this, but they feed the same lies back to the people

that theyve been told, so I tried to be more forgiving.

Im sure no one had requested an opt out for some time in this South Carolina airport,

which is why I got the pat down of all pat downs.

The female agent made sure to give me karate chops straight up to my private parts twice

in the back and then another two times in the front.

Totally unnecessary.

She kneaded my waist in a strange manner, grabbing hold of any loose skin she could

find.

I have had hundreds of pat downs over the years, and no one, I mean no one, has ever

been as intrusive as this TSA agent.

My first instinct was to tell her how inappropriate she was being, then I remembered how I would

most likely be punished for my non-sheep-like behavior and not be allowed to make my flight.

During the procedure she also sniffled and sneezed, spreading her germ warfare all over

me through out the entire security grope session.

I think we have all had enough of this undignified treatment in the name of security.

Its already been proven that these scanner devices and intrusive pat downs have not made

our world any safer from terrorists.

Airport security testers have snuck through everything from guns to explosives, clearly

proving their ineffectiveness.

Metal detectors should be sufficient enough.

If everyone opted out of the scanner, the whole program would eventually fall apart.

The lines of opt outs would be so long it would bring the air travel industry to a standstill.

It would also send a clear message that unsafe devices are not going to be tolerated.

Take the extra time and just do it opt out.

If you love yourself, than you owe it to yourself.

Now Im already ahead of you on what youre thinking that theyll just suspend all

our civil liberties and make it mandatory to go through the scanners whether we want

to or not.

Well, I would like to believe that they would be flooded with lawsuits if they did, but

theres an even easier solution.

Go to a medical supply store and buy a cheap inexpensive arm sling and put it on before

going through TSA.

If you cant hold both arms up over your head while in their scanner, it renders the

results totally unusable.

They know this and have to let you opt out for medical reasons.

The sheeple are getting smarter.

Afterall, life is all about how you handle Plan B.

America is Great Already... Here's Why - Duration: 6:12.

It may sound strange, but as liberal, I do believe in American exceptionalism.

Due to our democratic ideals and personal freedoms, America is a unique and special

country in the world.

You may remember back in 2009 when President Obama said he didn't really believe in American

Exceptionalism, saying "I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the

Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism."

In and of itself there's nothing wrong with Obama's general idea here in which each individual

country is filled with proud people who believe their country is unique and special in the

world.

Actually, if this idea fuels people to build a better society they can be genuinely proud

of, then fantastic.

Of course by the same token, this nationalism could also push otherwise good people to believe

they should have a sway over the world or influence other nations because they are morally

superior.

Over the eight years of Obama's presidency, he walked back his statement, and did actually

say that America's exceptionalism was unique.

For me, there is an additional reason for American exceptionalism which goes beyond

just our democratic ideals and personal freedoms.

Of course we aren't the only country in the world to share in those ideas.

It is also the additional piece America is a country of immigrants, a country of people

from all of the world who came here to make a better live for themselves.

We are a nation built by people whose ancestors often came here with nothing, and who worked

hard to build a better country and life for their children and their children's children.

While we certainly aren't the only country to welcome immigrants or build a solid middle

class, there is no other nation on Earth that more people from more countries have come

to live and prosper because of the pursuit of happiness.

This doesn't mean everyone can come here and we can have open borders, but it does mean

that if you come here legally, you will be given the same chance a natural born citizen

has.

Even today, as we live in a politically fractured society and many will tell you things have

never been worse, the the truth is things have actually never been better.

Now of course I don't mean that for every specific person or every specific job or industry.

Times change and so do people and economies.

But as a whole, America has done an incredible job of welcoming so many diverse people, having

us all share in the American dream while at the same time all being able to keep traditions

and practices from our unique cultures.

As our economy changes over the next few years, we the people have a massive job of changing

along with it.

In an age where supermarkets will be automated and driverless cars will replace truck drivers,

it will be more important than ever for us to change with technology.

The world doesn't stop for anyone or owe you anything, you have to adapt to a changing

world.

And in these moments of change is when America has been at its best.

Our system, built on the idea that it's your job to pursue your happiness is the reason

that more people still want to come to America right now than any other country on Earth.

I always find it ironic that so many people who rant and rave about how evil America is

are the same people who demand we let anyone in here.

Why would anyone want to come to such an evil, unfair and oppressive society?

Of course this is nonsense and they know it.

There's a reason that people don't leave America in droves, even the celebrities who said they

would leave if Trump was elected have some how managed to stay here.

For the record, I'm pretty sure Canada is happy it didn't have to take in most of them

anyway.

I mention all this because for all the goodness here in America, we obviously still have some

work to do.

Every society has work to do, which is why the people peddling utopia are frauds and

liars.

In America though, almost every generation has fought to expand rights to other people,

not to limit them.

That's how women got the right to vote, that's how we freed the slaves, that's how gay people

were allowed to marry and that's how whatever will come next will arrive.

As for that work we have to do, I think a lot of it has to be done on how we can come

together, not rip each other apart.

I'm a firm believer that most of us want the same things in life.

We want to work a decent job, eat some good food, have some sex and go on vacation now

and again.

Most of us aren't racist homophobes secretly plotting against each other and trying to

push our way of life on everyone else.

This is somewhere which no matter your political leanings we can all come together.

Yes, some of us are from big cities, some of us are from small towns, some of us had

ancestors who arrived on the mayflower and some of us just arrived yesterday, but the

only way this all works is if we all bend to fit American ideals of freedom of liberty,

not if we demand the system bend to us.

My guest this week is comedian Trae Crowder.

Trae is known as the liberal redneck...apparently they do exist.

His comedy is a blend of showing liberal elites that rednecks aren't all backwards hicks and

showing rednecks that liberals aren't all evil socialists.

It's almost as if we should judge people as individuals, not as groups.

I feel like I've heard that somewhere before.

The middle of this country for a long time has been the brunt of jokes and the easy way

to make fun of anyone who thinks differently than people in New York or LA.

As someone who has only lived in New York or LA, I've never subscribed to this way of

thinking and have tried not to mock people just because they talk differently or haven't

evolved on some of their social views the second that I have.

Whether your Democrat or Republican, straight or gay, black or white, native American or

new immigrant, this country belongs to all of us and it needs all of us to continue to

make it better.

That's the thing with exceptionalism, it take an awful lot of work to keep up.

Glutathione Reductase, B Vitamins, and Glucose | Masterclass With Masterjohn 1.10 - Duration: 21:57.

Hi. I'm Dr. Chris Masterjohn of

chrismasterjohphd.com, and you are

watching Masterclass with Masterjohn.

And today we are in our tenth in a

series of lessons on the antioxidant

defense system. And what we're going to

be doing today is looking at how

glutathione transfers the burden of

supplying reducing power from the

antioxidant system to the system of

energy metabolism, and in doing so

implies everything that supports the

system of energy metabolism as equally

important to the antioxidant system as

everything in the antioxidant system.

Shown on the screen is a mini diagram

summarizing this principle. So 2 GSH can

be oxidized to form GSSG and the system

of energy metabolism is what recycles

GSSG back to GSH. Where this happens is

in an enzyme called glutathione

reductase; and in the diagram on the

screen glutathione reductase is shown in

blue and it is abbreviated GR. Glutathione

reductase requires two B vitamins for its

function. First of all, riboflavin

is connected to the nucleotide ADP in a

larger structure called FAD. And FAD can

carry two electrons and two hydrogen

ions. When it's carrying them, it's called

FADH2. We do the same thing for another

energy carrier called NADPH, and here we

have the B vitamin, niacin that's

connected to ribose, and ADP, and is

phosphorylated, and that's NADP+

when it's loaded with two hydrogen ions

and two electrons, it becomes NADPH and

one of those hydrogen ions is leftover

being carried in solution alongside it

ready to react with it.

Niacin is vitamin B3, riboflavin is vitamin B2.

Now NADPH is a diffusable energy carrier

that is not connected to the glutathione

reductase enzyme; whereas FAD is

covalently bonded to glutathione

reductase as what we call a prosthetic

group. If you imagine that you have a

prosthetic joint, that new hip is part of

you right, so FAD is the prosthetic

group of the glutathione reductase enzyme

and is part of the enzyme, it never leaves. So we could

say that the glutathione reductase

enzyme represents the interface between

the system of energy metabolism and the

antioxidant system. Glutathione is

properly part of the antioxidant system,

NADPH is properly part of the system

energy metabolism. It's carrying energy

from the system of energy metabolism,

bringing it to the glutathione reductase

enzyme, and FAD is standing at the

interface transferring that energy from

NADPH to glutathione. So the way this

happens, NADPH dumps off its reducing

power, FAD picks it up becomes FADH2,

FADH2 drops it off to GSSG, splits

that apart, reduces the sulfhydryl groups,

and generates 2 GSH. In order to

understand how NADPH is deriving the

energy from the system of energy

metabolism, we need to talk about what

NADPH is in a little bit more detail. Now

previously we talked about how we can

measure the reducing power of the

glutathione pool based on its redox

status measured in millivolts and the

more negative the number, the greater the

reducing power. And we talked about how

that was dependent on the concentrations

of glutathione and GSSG and their ratio.

We can apply that same principle of

redox status to looking at these energy

carriers such as NADPH, NADH, and FADH2;

And the first way

we can do that is to talk about their

standard redox potential, which is a way

of looking at the intrinsic reducing

power of the molecule itself. And when we

look at standard redox potentials, the

assumptions are listed at the bottom of

the screen, and they assume that we have

equal concentrations of the reduced and

oxidized form, technically one molar of

each; and they assume particular

temperature, pH, atmospheric pressure, and

so on.

We don't really care for the purposes of

this lesson about any of that stuff,

except to say that when we measure the

standard redox potential we are trying to

look at the intrinsic reducing power of

a molecule independent of its

concentrations.

So when we do that, we see that NADPH

and NADP+, has a standard redox

potential of negative 320 millivolts. NADH

and NAD+ has the same exact standard

redox potential, and the only

difference between those two molecules

is that NADPH or NADP+ has a phosphate

group added to it. So to say that the

intrinsic reducing power of each of

these redox couples is identical, is to

say that this phosphate group has no

effect on the intrinsic reducing power

of the molecule. If we compare them to

FAD, then FAD has a significantly less

negative reducing power. It has negative

two hundred twenty millivolts for a

standard redox potential. So if FAD

is less reducing, then it's not very

surprising that in the glutathione

reductase enzyme, the electrons flow from

NADPH, the more reducing of the two, to FAD, the

less reducing of the two. And then to

glutathione, even less reducing of the

three. The significance of the phosphate

on NADP is it allows our bodies to

regulate the pool of NADPH differently

from the pool of NADH. And to use a

totally different set of enzymes to

metabolize each one of those.

And so it allows a functional split

between the two redox couples, and the

NADP is typically maintained with, if we

take the cytosol of hepatocytes as an

example, liver cells, the NADP+ to NADPH ratio

tends to be about 0.1. That means there's

ten times more NADPH then NADP+. By

contrast, NAD+ to NADH ratio, in the same

compartment, tends to be about a thousand.

That means there's a thousand times more

NAD+ than NADH. That's a 10,000 fold difference

between the two ratios, where NADPH is

maintained primarily in the reduced form,

and NAD+ is maintained primarily in the

oxidized form. And what that does is

allow a split in functional purposes

where NADPH is used for reductive

anabolic purposes, and NAD+ is used for

oxidative catabolic purposes. That means

when we're breaking things down we're using

NAD+, and when we're building things up or when

we're recycling things, we're using NADPH.

Now this is going to be reflected in

their actual redox status. What I cited

before was the standard redox potential

that assumed equal concentrations one

molar of each. That's not the

concentrations that we find in liver

cells. And so just like we were talking

before, about how the cell can have

different redox status for different

pools of glutathione in different

compartments and those can change over

time based on the concentrations. The

same thing is true of NADPH; its true

redox status is going to depend on its

concentration at that moment, and it's

going to be very reducing. NAD+, its

true redox status is going to depend on

its concentration at that moment and

it's going to be very oxidizing. NADPH is

primarily getting its reducing power

from glucose through a shunt that is

split off from glycolysis. Shown on the

screen is a basic overview of what

happens in glycolysis. We have 10

enzymatic reactions that split the

glucose molecule in half, and oxidize it

to two molecules of pyruvate. Since those

molecules of pyruvate are oxidized,

what's doing the oxidizing is NAD+,

the oxidizing agent, the agent that splits

things apart like glucose is getting

split in half; and NADH is taking those

hydrogen ions and electrons and carrying

them to the electron transport chain to

produce ATP.

However, in glycolysis, we have the

opportunity for a shunt. And this term

shunt is taken from engineering. And if

you have a circuit where you leave the

circuit and you come back to the circuit,

that's a shunt. And so this can be called

the pentose phosphate pathway because

it's where we get pentose phosphates, or it

can be called the hexose monophosphate

shunt, because we take hexose phosphates

make pentose phosphates, and then

rearrange them and send them back to

glycolysis. And when it operates in that

closed circuit that's a shunt that

leaves glycolysis and comes back to

glycolysis. Whether you call it the hexose

monophosphate shunt, or the pentose

phosphate pathway, it's the same thing.

In this, which is summarized on the

screen, we're taking hexose phosphates to make

this is six-carbon sugar to make a

pentose phosphate which is a five-carbon

sugar. In the process, we're removing one

carbon dioxide and instead of oxidizing

the molecule with NAD, we use NADP+,

and in doing so, we make NADPH. And the

two NADPH that are formed in the

conversion of one hexose phosphate to a

pentose phosphate, is the major

overwhelmingly primary source of NADPH

in the cell. Now pentose phosphates serve a variety of

purposes. Our demands for five carbon

sugars include the ribose of RNA, the

deoxyribose of DNA, the five carbon sugars

are also found in all these energy

carriers that we were looking at before

like NAD, and FAD, ATP, NADP, coenzyme A,

which is a vitamin B5 derived molecule

that's shuttling around two carbon

units and other molecules. So we're

actually deriving two functions from

this pathway. One is to get NADPH, and

one is to get pentosases. The reason it

operates as a shunt is because what

happens when you need NADPH, but you

don't need any pentoses? NADPH is used not

only for the recycling of glutathione,

but also the recycling of folate, and the

recycling of vitamin K, and for the

synthesis of all kinds of things:

nucleotides, cholesterol, fatty acids.

So many processes rely on NADPH, that our

needs for it are higher than our needs for the

pentoses. So what happens is when we don't

need the pentoses, what we do is just

send them back to glycolysis. Summarized on

the screen, we can have six pentoses if we

arrange them into four hexoses and two trioses.

We can send the hexoses back to

glycolysis here, we can send the trioses

back to glycolysis here, and all of those

can undergo the subsequent metabolism to

pyruvate, and we were able to gain NADPH

out of that process. So, if we need a lot

of NADPH, and we don't need a lot of

pentoses, we just continually operate

this in a shunt and go back-and-forth,

back-and-forth, back-and-forth producing

NADPH every time you run the cycle. The

regulation of this pathway is primarily

dependent on our need for NADPH, because

when we use NADPH at a high rate, it

could, it gets converted to NADP+. NADP+ is a

reactant in the conversion of hexose

phosphates to pentose phosphates, and the

rate of a chemical reaction is always

directly proportional to the

concentration of reactants. And so we have,

when we have more NADP+ that alone

is sufficient to drive this reaction

forward at a greater rate, and to make

more NADPH whenever we need more NADPH.

So to summarize what this means,

glucose is the ultimate antioxidant

because it is providing the reducing

power that used to recycle glutathione.

Glucose donates reducing power to NADP+,

itself becoming a pentose and converting

NADP+ to NADPH. NADPH donates reducing

power to FAD on the glutathione

reductase enzyme.

FAD becomes FADH2, and that enables the

glutathione reductase enzyme to take

GSSG and convert it to 2 GSH, then GSH can

continue to support all of its roles in

the antioxidant defense system. Now this

doesn't necessarily mean

that more carbohydrate is better. And

that's because when you have an excess

of carbohydrate beyond your capacity to

store it as glycogen, you convert the

carbohydrate to fat, and the conversion

of carbohydrate to fat, called de novo

lipogenesis, consumes NADPH. What's shown on the

screen is, uh I love the title of this

study, it's called: "Glycogen storage

capacity and de novo lipogenesis during

massive carbohydrate overfeeding in man."

And what they did in this study was they

took people, they put them on a

low-carbohydrate diet and exposed them to

a lot of high-intensity exercise. That

brought their glycogen stores down as

low as it could possibly go, and then

they switched them to an eighty-six

percent carbohydrate diet, that was it

wasn't just high-carbohydrate, it was

hyper caloric, so well beyond their

normal needs for calories, such that the

total amount of carbohydrate in the

diet exceeded their total needs for

calories.

And what you can see is that, over the

first couple of days what happens is

first of all, they start burning all of

their energy as carbohydrate. You can see

they're burning 500 grams a day, 500

grams a day of carbohydrate, that's like

2,000 calories. So they're deriving most

of their energy from carbohydrate and

they're starting to put the excess in

glycogen. You can see, over the course of

day three to day seven, glycogen storage

capacity tops off and after day 7

they're not storing anything else in

glycogen because it's full. As glycogen

starts to get maybe a third full, or

between a third and a half full,

de novo lipogenesis starts happening;

and it starts increasing as the glycogen

storage gets full. Once the glycogen storage

gets full, de novo lipogenesis just takes over.

So whatever they, whatever they can burn

for energy they burn for energy, and all of

the excess gets converted to fat. Now the

study that I showed on the screen is

extreme.

I can't think of many situations in real

life where your total carbohydrate

intake would exceed your total need for

calories. I can think of maybe a food

eating contest where you eat as many hot

dogs as you can that have a lot of hot

dog buns, and I can think of some tribal

rituals of intentional fattening; but for

the most part, when people are operating

in a eucaloric diet or a slight caloric excess,

de novo lipogenesis is a minor

pathway. If you take people on a standard

American diet, they're making one to two

grams per day of fat from carbohydrate.

That increases to three to six grams for females,

during certain parts of the menstrual

cycle, and if you look at obese people or

people with certain diseases, that

you can maybe get up to three to six grams per

day with those conditions as well. If you

were to eat a very high carbohydrate

diet, such as a 70-percent carbohydrate

diet, and it's not hypercaloric, you can

probably push de novo lipogenesis up to

10 grams per day. I don't know of any

evidence that that in and of itself

compromises antioxidant activity, but

certainly you could say that if you're

in the range were you are increasing

de nova lipogenesis with increased

carbohydrate intake, then it's unclear

whether you're getting any net benefit

to NADPH, given the fact that you're

consuming it in the process of de novo

lipogenesis. In addition, the more

carbohydrate you have, the more insulin

you have. And when I say insulin, I mean

the higher the ratio of insulin to

glucagon. And when you have a higher

ratio of insulin to glucagon, you have

high levels of intracellular insulin

signaling that cause you to burn

carbohydrate for energy. And you do that

through glycolysis. So insulin is causing

the downstream metabolism of glucose to

pyruvate, which actually detracts from the

glucose available for the NADPH

production. If you restrict carbohydrate,

you're going to have lower insulin

signaling, so you're going to get less

conversion of glucose to pyruvate, and

that's going to preserve hexose

phosphates for the production of pentose

phosphates, and for the production of

NADPH. Additionally, when you're

restricting carbohydrate, you have other

sources of glucose and that's mainly

amino acids, and most textbooks will only

tell you about amino acids. Maybe ten

percent of your needs during this time

are being met by fatty acids, but in the

process of gluconeogenesis you take

amino acids or fatty acids and you make

glucose. That glucose is now available for the

pentose phosphate pathway. So glucose is

the ultimate antioxidant, but there's

probably a very wide range of

carbohydrate intakes that would allow

you to have enough glucose for the

pentose phosphate pathway because when

you restrict carbohydrate, even to the

degree that we would call it a

low-carbohydrate diet, you have

gluconeogenesis that allows you to get

more glucose and you have a decrement

in insulin signaling which preserves

glucose for the pentose phosphate

pathway. On the other end of the spectrum,

when you provide more glucose, you

have more dietary glucose available for

the pentose phosphate pathway, but you're

also increasing insulin causing you to

burn it for energy. And eventually you

get to the point where you're increasing

the conversion of carbohydrates to fat

which itself consumes NADPH. So what is

the optimal amount of carbohydrate?

I don't know the answer to that, but I suspect

that there is none in the sense that

there's probably an extraordinarily

large range of carbohydrate intakes that

can support the pentose phosphate

pathway, and it's only at the extremes of

either intake where you can start to

develop a problem. However, insulin

signaling itself plays an independent

role in increasing glutathione synthesis as

discussed before. So carbohydrate intake

is going to be more important to

antioxidant defense because it provides

the signal of insulin to make glutathione.

And variations of carbohydrate

intakes across the spectrum of what most

people are eating are probably going to be

much less important as influencers of

the glucose available for the pentose

phosphate pathway. Nevertheless,

we can look at things like niacin and

riboflavin and see that they are making

critical contributions to antioxidant

status. In the next lesson, we'll also come

back to look at how thiamine is another

B vitamin that's important for

supporting the pentose phosphate pathway

and energy metabolism in general. And

how even ATP production and everything that

supports that is critical to the

antioxidant defense system.

Alright, I hope you enjoyed this lesson.

WILL CARNITINE HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT FAST AND BURN FAT ? | MGSAVVY - Duration: 5:35.

hi I'm MERVINE GOWRY and in this video

we're going to talk about carnitine what

is it what does it do you heard about it

but you don't quite know very well what

is this all about this video is made for you

coming right up

well carnitine is basically a

non-stimulant fat burner

ok there are different types of

carnitine you have d-carnitine

l-carnitine and acetyl carnitine the

last two can be sold you can find them

anywhere in any supplement store but the

d-carnitine form is not sold as a

supplement so the last two forms the

acetyl and the l carnitine are the

most popular one

so what does it do ? l-carnitine and/or

acetyl carnitine are known as fat

transporter what does that mean it means

that carnitine is going to transport the

fats to the mitochondria . a mitochondria is

the powerhouse of the cell which means

is the energy center so what does that

mean is that it's going to produce more

and more energy to give you that boost

and so it's going to help you use the

fat as fuel so you're going to burn more

fat be more efficient have more energy

be more alert in the gym and in your

daily activities but if you train and if

you eat clean you might need that little

help from carnitine it works for me i

take it on a regular basis not daily

just the day that I train and it's

recommended to take like one gram of

carnitine but it for maximum benefits i

would recommend 2-3 grams, but just work

your way up to to this, start with one

gram and then a few weeks later once

your body gets used to it

you can take like 2-3 grams so most

people take it as a pre-workout before

their workout because it gives them a

that sensation of energy boost

ok it's going to give you that pump that

you need that motivation but studies

show backed up by science that it's more

efficient to take carnitine as a post

workout after your workout

why because this is the moment right

after your workout wear your insulin

level your hormone insulin is as its

highest so it's even better because it's

going to increase muscle gains and fat

loss and it will keep your blood sugar

levels very low

what can carnitine do

additionally to all of that is increase

your testosterone levels is going to

increase the number of testosterone

receptors in your body so those

receptors are going to bind with more

and more testosterone and it's going to

stimulate muscle gain and strength gains

so that's very very important

there is a not so much of side effects

known for carnitine except in the first

days when you take them you might get

like some kind of nausea our muscle

cramps if you're not used to training a

lot and you go to a regular fitness

program training for five days a week

this might cause some cramp just in a

very first day so just be aware of that

and just stick to the 1g per day when

you first start

and because i don't want to be

responsible for any any of your damages

so basically that's it

carnitine, i would recommend this like

on a regular basis

work your way up to 2-3 grams a day but

start with 1g a day can help you get

more energy be more alert focused lose

the weight lose the fat and build muscle

so all about productivity all about

efficiency and that's just the main

purpose of this YouTube channel so i hope

you liked it if you have any questions

just hit me up in the comments and I'll

be glad to help you to respond to that

see you in the next videos

Don't look at me like that

Don't come any closer

You need to let it go go Leave me alone lone

Never want to turn it round

Don't look at me like that

Don't push me away further

I gave you all my love love All of my love love

Never wanna let you go

Don't recall when we were good together

Haunts me like a ghost

Like there will be no tomorrow

Moments of heartpounds No no no no no

Don't mean a thing no more

Stop. I don't recall

Don't mean a thing no more

Stop. I don't recall

You don't mean it

I know know know know know know

(I don't recall)

Say you don't mean those worlds

Baby I can't let you go

(Just let me go now)

Can't let you go No no no no

Don't mean a thing no more

Stop I don't recall

Knitting Help - Reactive Lifelines Using a Circular Needle - Duration: 5:41.

In this video I'm going to demonstrate something that...a technique that I often use, but I'm

finally going to put a video out on it.

It's a way to string a reactive lifeline using a knitting needle.

And I have a lot of different videos on lifelines.

If you want to click the little "i" in the upper right hand corner, I'll take you to

my...I think my Correcting Mistakes playlist is the best place to send you.

It'll all be explained there.

And a lifeline is a way of securing the stitches, if you make a mistake, securing the stitches

so you don't have a bunch of live stitches all coming unraveled when you go to fix a

mistake and rip out some of your work.

And I separate lifelines into two different categories.

There are proactive lifelines, where you're working on a pattern that's kind of complicated

and you're stringing bits of scrap yarn through your work as you go.

Just in case you make a mistake, you have a place to rip out to, and all the stitches

will be held safely on the scrap yarn.

So that's a proactive lifeline.

A reactive lifeline is one where you've already messed up and you're going back and stringing

a lifeline to grab all those stitches and keep them from unraveling.

Reactive lifelines are tough if you're working on a complicated pattern.

They're really especially tough if you're working on something as complicated, like,

as lace.

So if you're worried about it at all, a proactive lifeline is the way to go, but we all get

stuck.

And when I'm doing reactive lifelines with a knitting needle, this is what I use.

The only reason that I have a 40 inch long, size 0 circular needle is for this technique.

I use this all the time.

I think it's a great thing to have.

Let's go ahead and take a look.

Okay, here is my mistake.

I've made a very obvious mistake in my work.

I've put a pearl stitch in a sea of stockinette.

Now, really the easiest thing for me to do would be to just drop this column and fix

it, but I'm demonstrating something here, so we're going to pretend that it's not quite

that straightforward.

So I always put a rubber band on the other end of the needle.

It's not going to make a difference in a piece this small, but because this needle is so

small, such a small size, it slides really easily through the work and it's easy for

it to slide right out the other side.

So sometimes you'll go to all the trouble to pick up all of these stitches only to find

that you've been pulling it out the other end.

This is just a little safety measure.

So this is what I have.

There's my mistake, and I want to string the lifeline into the row below, or below that,

but I'll just go for the row below here.

So I'm going to follow it across.

I'm looking at Vs, and I want to grab...I want to make sure that I unroll it and make

sure to get the edge stitched there.

I want to put my needle under the right leg of each V all the way across.

And if the stitches, this is bulky yarn, if your stitches are tiny, just make sure you

have really good light going, because it can be tough to see exactly what you're doing

and make sure you're not jumping up or down a row.

I'm going to check my work here to make sure I haven't jumped up or down a row.

I'm going to take this all the way across.

Okay, now all of those stitches are held safely and I can unravel without worrying at all.

Okay.

And because I picked up, went under the right leg of each stitch, everything is mounted

correctly.

The stitches are all mounted correctly and not twisted.

And from here, I actually might want to steam out this yarn because it might not look so

good knitting up again as crinkled as it is.

I can just knit off this tiny needle and fix my work without the mistake in it.

Just be careful while you're knitting off the tiny needle.

Seriously, it's so small, it's so easy just for your stitches to accidentally slide off,

which is why we use the rubber band.

Anyway, I hope that helps.

This is exactly what I do, how I recover stitches using a knitting needle as a lifeline.

Good luck.

Rep. Slaughter Reacts to Congressional Republicans' Latest Attack on Women's Health Care - Duration: 3:32.

It is high time that people recognize that women as part of society, in fact the majority part of society can make decisions for themselves

but for more than 40 years, men in blue suits have been trying to determine what women can and should do when it comes to their own health

The Republican majority is now taking its never-ending crusade against access to health services for women to a whole new level

First they began in the 115th Congress by moving quickly to eviscerate the Affordable Care Act

which finally barred insurance companies from treating a woman as a preexisting condition and charging them more money for insurance

Second, they advanced HR 7 a sweeping bill that wouldn't just make the Hyde Amendment permanent, but would also place unprecedented limits on womens

access to reproductive health services even if they wanted to pay the abortion out of their own pockets

Third, President Trump signed a dramatic expansion of the Global Gag Rule immediately after taking office

and now today Republicans are coming after Title X

This is the most serious threaten women have faced this Congress

Programs supported by Title X help provide life-saving and prevented healthcare services like contraception cancer screenings and STD testing

to the men and women who need them most

Despite that, we are here today considering this measure which would threat healthcare centers from coast to coast

And I'm sure that you've noticed that Congressman town hall the other day

A woman who spoke very movingly of having the answer.

the only insurance she had was the healthcare being provided by the ACA

she needed monthly tests that without Planned Parenthood and the ACA, would not get

That really should make an impression on you

That could be your daughter, sister. That could be anybody you know

but that doesn't matter.

If it's anybody anywhere we should care about it

I can't remember a time since I've been in Congress that the American people have been this engaged with what's going on here

as they are right now

I think all of us can say the same thing

Seemingly every single day people are marching in the streets call representatives making their voices heard.

I think the Women's March on January 21 was one of the most phenomenal things that's ever happened to this country

and is a milestone for women's health and women's interests

and it wasn't just women, men too. I had members visit my office, three generations of them 10, 11 years old worrying about what's going to happen to women in the United States of America

Now measures like this Mr. Chairman are exactly why people are taking to the streets

the government should get out of the business of taking away healthcare rights once and for all

Republicans have the majority in the house and senate working hand in hand with the President on these attacks on women's health.

but you will have to reckon with a majority of the public who are against this and are making their voices heard loud and clear

Republicans are turning a deaf ear to the public for which I believe they will one day regret
