Youtube daily report May 29 2017

Hey there!

Welcome to Life Noggin.

Have you ever heard someone say, "I'm so clean, I'm OCD!"?

You might think that having OCD just means being a neat freak… but actually, obsessive-compulsive

disorder is a serious ailment that only affects about 2 percent of the population.

People with OCD are plagued with unwanted thoughts, behaviors, or mental images that

repeat over and over.

They might feel like objects in a room have to be perfectly aligned, or they may worry

obsessively about harming others, even if they would never actually do anything.

And yes, some people with OCD obsess over germs and cleanliness, but it's different

than just wanting your house tidy.

For those with the disorder, their obsession feels out of their control.

It can be debilitating, and cleaning won't solve the problem.

The obsessions are typically intertwined with compulsions — repeated actions the person

has to do just to function.

If someone is obsessed with germs, they might wash their hands over and over, even after

they logically know that they are clean.

Or if they're obsessed with safety, they might force themselves to check that the doors

are locked and the stove is off dozens of times before they can leave the house.

They might also feel the need to repeat a certain word, or count all their steps.

Although OCD can take many forms, there are some things that everyone with the disorder

has in common.

In order to be diagnosed, the obsessions or compulsions must be extremely time consuming

and take up at least an hour a day.

Almost everyone with OCD knows their thoughts aren't logical, but they can't stop themselves.

And they usually don't enjoy their compulsions — it's just the only way they can reduce

their anxiety and stress.

For those suffering, it can hurt to hear others use the term OCD without understanding what

it means.

You might say you have OCD because you like things to be organized, but it's a passing

thought that you could shrug off.

Having real OCD means not being able to let go of those thoughts.

Lots of studies have shown that those with OCD actually have slightly different brain

function than those without.

Although scientists are still learning how the disorder works, many think it has to do

with changes in a circuit of the brain called the corticostriatal pathway, which regulates

habit and repeated action.

Recent studies have focused on trying to find medications that bind to receptors in that

pathway.

If the studies are successful, they may be able to develop medications that specifically

target OCD symptoms.

This would be a huge leap forward.

Currently, doctors typically prescribe general antidepressants for OCD.

They also recommend behavioral therapy.

This includes exposure therapy, where patients are carefully exposed to fearful situations

without being allowed to act on their compulsions.

For the small amount of people who don't respond to either drugs or therapy, there

are more invasive procedures.

Around 300 people have undergone something called DBS, or deep brain stimulation, which

is when electrodes are implanted in the brain to control impulses in some of the corticostriatal

regions.

When the electrodes are activated, they cause the brain of someone with OCD to have the

same neural activity as someone without.

The treatment has been a huge success.

Almost all DBS patients say the procedure improved their mood and self-confidence, and

most regained a normal quality of life.

Although OCD can be debilitating, these types of treatments offer hope that one day soon,

everyone with the disorder will be able to find relief and take back control of their

life.

The Sims 4: All Emotions Altogether on a Sim - Duration: 3:49.

Hello guys this is onlyabidoang and today I'm going to show you a neat trick on how

to make a sim have all types of emotional moodlets

altogether without cheats in The Sims 4.

I think that this might be a quick yet fun video to be done so yeah this might be a video

you'll not expect.

You're going to need, an at least master ranked vampire which will be the main character

also make sure that the vampire have at least level 2 vampire lore skill

a stronger enemy of that vampire,

a computer,

a shower,

a sink,

a coffee maker,

a few fireworks which can be obtained from festivals in TS4 City Living,

a sim that is willing to die,

a bed,

a "highly decorated" room,

and finally, a good and fast timing

Just set up all of the required objects first to begin with.

First, since your character is a vampire ranked as a master vampire, you have to obtain the

"dampened emotions" vampire power to gain a fine moodlet.

I think that there's no other way to obtain a fine moodlet other than from this.

Then, prepare a highly decorated room and put a bed

in the same room that will be used later.

Once the sim is in there, they will have a happy moodlet.

After that, wait until your vampire gets thirsty which will give you an uncomfortable moodlet.

Now prepare a small room which should contain a few fireworks and then make the willing-to-die

sim to use the firework inside the room.

Sometimes it will just blow up instead of starting a fire, so like I said, get a

few of 'em.

Make sure that the fire catches the sim undisturbed so they will die.

Of course, there are other ways to create fire but this is the easiest

and fastest way in my opinion.

This event will result in both a tense and a sad moodlet for quite a while.

Also, don't make the main sim extinguish the fire as it will give a confident moodlet

instead of the tense moodlet which we will talk about later.

After that, get a cup of coffee from the coffee maker.

Drinking coffee will get you an energized moodlet.

Next, go to the computer and do these interactions: browse Simpedia, browse art, watch funny videos,

and search for informations on vampires.

These will give you playful, inspired, focused, and bored moodlets.

Now go to the sink and have your sim brush their teeth

which will give you a confident moodlet.

Then go to the shower and take a steamy shower.

Also, make sure that your hygiene need is already filled so it won't take long.

As your sim is showering, make the other sim walk to the same room

to see your sexy naked bodeh.

Both of these will give you a flirty and an embarrassed moodlet.

After that, control your sim's enemy and make him fight with your sim.

If your sim loses, you will get a dazed moodlet.

Use the enemy again to do "brush off" mean interaction to your sim.

Now you'll get an angry moodlet.

Finally, make your sim to go to sleep which will give you an asleep moodlet.

There you have it folks.

moodlets all in one sim.

That was a hell of a day for your poor sim.

Now cherish this short moment as those moodlets will run out one by one shortly after this.

Of course, there are tons of other ways to obtain those moodlets.

This is just one of the ways on doing it.

Thank you so much guys for watching!

Virtus.pro at the Russia Cup: An interview with Solo following the grand final victory | Dota 2 - Duration: 4:03.

Proud...

Well, it wasn't an international tournament, and the really strong, Tier 1 teams weren't in it.

I mean, Empire was strong, and Spirit were very well prepared too.

It feels good. Indeed, it's our first cup. Not our first tournament, but the first actual cup.

But it's still not the same feeling, you know, when–

it's not a Major or the International. All the same, it's nice that esports is seeing some development in our country.

There are now tournaments like this one, where young teams can make a showing.

As it happens, none of the young teams were in the semifinals this time around, but they surely will be eventually.

It feels good, of course. We're glad to be holding the cup.

In Dota, everything is affected by the choice of heroes—the enemy's and your own.

If the enemy has a weak spot, you've got to go in.

Terrorblade is a weak laning hero. Lone Druid, that's a strong laning hero.

Nix is a weak laning hero, Lone Druid is stronger than Nix in a 1v1.

That's why you've got to keep it and go hard, even if we're going to be dying there.

It's too long to explain; basically, we think together as a team, we discuss certain points.

But I often say what I believe ought to be done, and the guys do it.

I liked Yota Arena a lot, it's a really cool place.

I've been here a couple of times, back when it wasn't Yota Arena but MKS, a large gaming cafe.

There's no comparing them, of course, it's a whole different level. Yota Arena is a cool place.

The powerful PCs, the fun lounge zones—everything's great, it's top-notch.

Of course, The International and the Majors will always be a priority.

We'll see. But in general, you've got to give young teams a chance to show themselves.

I think the organizers ought to tweak the rules a bit regarding the participation of foreign teams.

I don't think it's quite right. It is after all the Russia Cup. I think there should only be Russian teams.

The teams that represent Russian orgs. Or maybe from within the CIS. I think it will be more appropriate.

We only had a few days to play. Actually we had no time at all.

We came with a very small number of set pieces; there were certain things we discussed here, on the spot.

We didn't play too well against Spirit yesterday, and they'd prepared very well. We've played much better today.

Now we're going to have some time to prepare, basically just five days before the group stage of EPICENTER.

But I think that's some time we've got. I hope we'll have prepared well.

A nice group. I think the groups ended up being about equal in strength.

Maybe our group is even a little bit on the more pleasant side.

Maybe. I'm not sure. We'll see what happens.

Actually I'd just like to sincerely thank all those

who are enthusiastic about esports, who do esports and are interested in it.

Especially, of course, our fans who were here these past two days.

I'd like to say hi to all my friends and to all who root for us, for Virtus.pro.

Support us, come to EPICENTER!

Thanks! – Bye.

You know that thing about me being weird lately?

It's because of a person I like… Even.

I'm just going to… hurt you. And then you will hate me.

Only you can feel what you feel.

And I haven't felt anything quite like this ever.

You know, the only way to have something for infinite time

is by losing it.

He's manic.

He's not well.

Do you think he's in love with you?

He's not.

It's just sick idea he's got right now.

Do you know that he tried to kill himself?

You're not alone.

It's your head.

It's you and your head, and all your thoughts.

The 'brain is alone' feeling.

Because there's only you and your thoughts, you know...

You can't escape your thoughts.

The only way is to die.

Jim Rohn - Things That Affect You and Your Life (Pesonal Development) - Duration: 19:44.

JIM ROHN ► now here's the next one we're affected

by what we know what you know what you

don't know the accumulation of knowledge

or the lack of knowledge affects your

dreams affects your future affect your

income affects your bank account affects

your associations affects everything

straight to your charlie talk about

reading books so important all the

speakers here have mentioned right

you've got to really be a student study

so you can learn how to make wise

decisions that will give you the best

chance to build for the future okay

here's what's next we're affected by

results whatever your current economic

results whatever project you've launched

the results up until now that affects

you the results you've had in the past

up until now that's affected you now

here's number five we're affected by our

dreams our dreams meaning our view of

the future for ourselves

now here's a note to me it's important

to make sure that the greatest tool on

your life is the pull of the future now

we talked yesterday about reviewing the

past which is fine but we're not to live

in the past some people let the past

pull them back pull them back the past

can be like gravity if you let it to

pull you back not just to think about it

to get advice from mistake to carry on

for the future but some people live in

the past they live in the darkness of

the past they live in the mistakes of

the past they live in the discouragement

of the past they didn't make it you know

and that affects them for the rest of

their life living in the past so we

don't want the future the path to pull

us back to live in the past and all

other kinds of things that affect us

it's going to affect us to some extent

but not to the extent that we should be

affected by the future so make this note

dreams and goals can become magnets

dreams and goals can become magnets

and the stronger the goal the higher the

purpose the more powerful the objective

the stronger this magnet is that pulls

you that direction now not only does

your goals and your objective objectives

pull you that direction here's what they

also do they pull you through they pull

you through all kinds of down days they

pull you through a difficult time it'll

pull you through some winter of your

life

some people get lost in the confusion of

the day simply because their goal is not

bright enough to pull them through one

writer of ancient times said we can walk

through the valley even though there's

shadows of death around we walk through

the valley and here's why it's possible

to walk through the valley even though

there's death and shadows and

difficulties is because we have a view

of the other side of the valley next its

goals that drive us to take advantage of

the spring why would the farmer put the

plow in the ground in the spring if he

couldn't see the vision of the harvest

when the summer is finished is it

possible to see the finished harvest and

the answer is yes we do that simply by

fading keyphrase faith is the ability to

see things that don't yet exist and

that's how things exist how did this

hotel get here someone saw it while the

property was vacant you say well Kenya

is it possible to see this hotel when it

isn't here and the answer is yes of

course

if somebody cannot see it when it is not

here then it will never be here so it's

possible to see things that don't yet

exist

interesting

it's also a little time management quote

but let me quote it now because it goes

so well with what we're talking about

here when should you start building this

hotel this is this is a good question

for your philosophical musings when

should we start building the house when

should we start and here's the answer as

soon as it's finished you wouldn't start

building the house until you headed

finished if you just started laying

bricks and somebody came around said

what are you're doing but I'm just

laying bricks and said what are you

building you said I have no idea see

they'll take you away to a safe place so

if you got that now it's possible to

finish something before you start in

fact it would be a bit foolish to start

until you had it finished so human

beings have this remarkable ability to

finish something and then started okay

we've heard the old expression don't

count your chickens till their hats they

know we have the ability to count our

chickens long before their hands because

we know we have faith we believe we use

the law of averages there's bound to be

at least so many out of every dozen out

of every hundred out of every 50 so it's

possible to see the end then begin so

here's what we want to do in our

goal-setting session is to start looking

into the future of what you would like

to accomplish where you would like to go

the person you would like to be and see

if you can't get a better picture of the

finished objective see yourself there

see yourself in possession of and was in

business with Bob Cummings the old movie

star for a while

he said decide what you want and then

act as if you already had it and being

an actor he could give us a few tips on

acting decide what you want and act as

if it was already yours now the reason

we can act

thinking that it's already ours is

because not only can we vision the end

results we can also vision the beginning

of making it real so we don't start till

it's finished but it is possible for

human beings to finish something before

they start just jump this down that's a

bit philosophical but we'll cover it

before we take our lunch break and

that's this human beings are the only

life on Earth that has this incredible

capacity to change the course of your

life no other life-form can do that

every other life-form except humans

seems to operate simply by instinct in

the genetic code in the winter the goose

flies out how often answer every winter

if you said to the goose hey it'd be

better this year to go west he ignored

that advice and the reason is because he

cannot make choices and listen to advice

of something that might be better he has

to obey instinct and the genetic code

but now jot this down not human beings

human beings can alter the course of

their life human beings can live one way

for five years tear up that script live

a totally different way the next five

years the first six years of my economic

life I wound up broke second six years I

wanted a bridge someone says how did you

do that here's number one I discovered I

was not a goose someone says don't you

have to do the second six years like you

did the first six years and jump this

down no no you don't have to live the

second six years like the first six you

can use all the information and all the

advice and repairing all of your

mistakes and adopting a new and refined

philosophy so that the next six years

can be totally different than the last

six no other life form can do this see

if you were to tree you'd be stuck

as a tree if you used up all the

nourishment that was around you and you

couldn't change location - you would die

but that's not true human beings can

change location go north south east west

live here for a while live somewhere

else for a while so that's a note - mate

you can greatly alter the course of your

life now here's the next note to make

five years from now you will arrive the

question is where this is for mature

people note if you keep up your prison

disciplines and keep up the present pace

that you're on where would you be in

five years I want to teach you to say eh

I haven't really thought about that so

now make this note in five years here's

the probability you will either arrive

at a well-designed destination or an

undesigned destination well designed or

undesigned and I promise you five years

ago you really don't want to arrive at

an undesigned

destination because you may very well

wind up wearing what you don't want to

wear driving which you don't want to

drive living where you don't want to

live maybe doing what you don't want to

do simply because you didn't design a

better destination key phrase upfront

the decisions are easy now sometimes

after we've lived a few years now to

repair our mistakes and get back on

track seems like a tough job if you've

messed up your health for ten years I'm

killing it takes more than ten days to

get it back but here's the key in the

soul exciting to talk to the teenagers

make the note if you start early the

fortune belongs to you if you start

early and we're going to talk later

today about the fortune of the money not

just the fortune of good health but all

fortunes that are available to humans if

you start early the promise looms large

and the odds are heavy in your favor now

yes it's possible to do some radical

thing starting late and still arrive

with some good treasures and some good

things but when you haven't got that

much time

left now sometimes the decision has to

be so drastic people are not willing to

make it they're too tired too weary and

too ill and say look I don't have much

time left it's not going to happen for

me anyway it's easy to take that

attitude but everyone here we've got the

time over the next 10 years we've got

the time the next 20 years we've got the

time the next 30 years to make some

repair now in our errors of the past and

set up some new disciplines and I'm

telling you that's going to change

everything so five years from now I wish

for you to arrive at a well designed

place a place of productivity place that

will make you feel good about yourself a

place that will give you honor and

respect a place that will give you

influence to touch other people five

years from now that you couldn't do

today where will you be in five years

key phrase we go the direction we face

we go the direction we face if you start

designing something at the end of this

direction sure enough you will start

going the direction you face and we face

the direction we design

next trade direction determines

destination destination is not

determined by hope it's not determined

by wish destination is determined by

directions now here's the good news and

we're going to take our break for lunch

you cannot change destination overnight

you cannot change destination overnight

which means you can arrive at a five

years from now place tomorrow but here's

what you can change today and overnight

you can change direction and it is so

fascinating what a little small change

of direction will do let's say that

you're here and you're headed this way

and five years from now you'll wind up

here but if you made just a few changes

and maybe those changes you've already

decided on this weekend I wish I had a

chance to hear all of the stories of

what's going to happen to all of you

after this weekend right the economic

decisions you've made the decisions

you've made about your family about your

health and about your future

I'm telling you decision-making on an

occasion like this where everybody's

committed to come and learn study and

read take notes and change and develop

it's going to be awesome what can happen

after this weekend and I wish I could

track everybody's progress and enjoy all

of that incredible productivity that's

going to happen for all of us

collectively I'm telling you no telling

how big that amount would be but here's

how we individually can arrive at a new

destination maybe right now by

discipline or lack of discipline or

direction you're headed this way but it

wouldn't take much to change direction

and head this way

so that in five years you wind up here

instead of here and the difference now

of getting off this track and getting on

this track

is not much a few decisions in

discipline a few decisions in learning a

few decisions and change of behavior

change of habit a few decisions in

setting goals that you've sort of let

drift before like I did at age 25 didn't

have a list I immediately started to

change that and I immediately started to

change my direction so that very quickly

I started heading this direction in less

than seven years I was a millionaire and

that was just my economics and sure

enough when I met my mentor I was headed

this way and here's where I would have

been in five or six years maybe okay you

know my kids probably wouldn't have been

starving and maybe you know we got close

to we're in a place to live but the joy

of productivity and the joy of becoming

valuable to the marketplace and more

valuable to my family and valuable to my

friends in my inner circle all of that

probably would have escaped me if I

would have kept going this way but I am

so thankful for the circumstances and

whatever else arranged it for me some

things are arranged we don't even know

how they've occurred for you to be here

you imagine the chain of circumstances

that caused you to be able to sit in

this auditorium today it's amazing this

had to happen and this had to happen in

this door had to closing this door had

to open and all those things for me to

be here for you to be here how come I

just didn't drop out of the sky right by

all kinds of turns and events I wind up

in Dallas on this June weekend like year

2001 and you arrived to you from all

kinds of directions here we are and so

we just say wow part of that's a mystery

and we let it be a mystery we don't even

try to figure it out we just say wow

it's incredible but now that we're here

how could we collectively and

individually affect each other's lives

it's by doing just what we've done study

learn teach shake hands trade stories

and do all the stuff so that we can help

other people as well as ourselves to

make that small journey to a new

direction so jot that down it's only a

small journey to

new direction yes how quickly you can

change your health by starting to eat an

apple a day mama said an apple a day

keeps the doctor away let's say you've

been ill long enough you had health

problems long enough and you say that's

it that's over I'm going to now start a

program you don't have to really

revolutionize your whole health life

just start with an apple a day you say

well is it that simple to change your

health life and the answer is yes the

key is just to start you know you pick

up a book on good health and you get

halfway through the book and it says now

dear reader set this book aside fall

down on the floor and see how many

pushups you can do and then it goes on

to say and if you have not done that why

not give this book away it looks like

you're not going to do it come on you

don't have to radically do something you

can gain momentum and make changes as

you go just start here's what happens

when you start a new direction

self-esteem starts to accelerate it

doesn't take much for you to feel good

about yourself just committed to a new

direction and you feel good and an apple

a day committed to finally having a

health program that will make you the

healthiest you've ever been in the next

20 years

all you got to do is munch on that first

Apple and nobody even has to be around

and you don't have to announce to the

world

but you munch on that first Apple and

say this is the beginning of developing

a health program that's going to make me

so help they all have the vitality to do

whatever I want to do for the next

thirty years of my life munch munch

happy happy self-esteem off the scale

now if you eat an apple the second day

you become almost delirious

saying wow I'm on my way

somebody said just to Apple says look

you don't understand not only did I do

it yesterday I've done it again today

this is really proving to myself with no

audience no microphones no nothing just

you and yourself you've convinced

yourself I'm on my way to the healthiest

I ever have been I'm starting a new life

this is the second day I'm on my way

that's how easy it is to change your

life you don't need some dramatic vision

just begin something and maybe by health

or by whatever other things we can think

of to do you just get back on a better

track okay it's a small journey to

changing direction and by the time we

finish our workshop right after lunch I

think you're going to have a concept of

how powerful it can be not only how easy

it can be

but how powerful it can be to change

every part of your life for the future

My name is Katsuhiro Harada,

I've been a leader on Tekken projects for over 20 years now. My name is Katsuhiro Harada,

I've been a leader on Tekken projects for over 20 years now.

The concept behind Katarina in Tekken 7, for example,

was also one of a character that novice players can easily control and execute combos with,

but is still fully able to be played with a high degree of skill in tournament play.

We're looking at what ended up being average and what ended up being comparatively average about Katarina,

and adding some daring new designs.

The idea of daring to make them strong or weak, though, isn't something that we consciously think about as we work.

The way we combine things to discover new fighting styles, fighting methods, and compatibility

is linked to the results of these decisions.

Updates always change things,

but the basic style of play can't really be changed to a large degree.

So we have this in mind as we design the game, right from the very beginning.

Every day I would go to school knowing

that something bad would happen to me.

And all those times that I was getting bullied

I was looking for a father figure

'cause dad left the family

before I even got to known him.

But he came back to my mom 15 years later.

A year later, mom got pregnant.

So yeah, now my brother's five years old

my dad has recently left the family again.

My dad has left for the second time.

And I'm just so disappointed that he has-

he's left again when we most needed him.

What scares me most is

telling my brother, when the time comes that

you had a dad, same dad as mine

but he left you when you were little.

And I just feel so sorry for my mom

'cause I've kind of left her as well

to pursue my dreams to come here.

I call her on FaceTime every day

and I can see in her face that she hides it.

She's just trying to

you know, support me.

I can see behind her. She's struggling.

Mom, I'm sorry that I've left you as well for the moment

but I'm sure and I promise you that I'll make you proud

and I won't disappoint you.

I'm Mariah Jowett, 18 years old, from Las Piñas City.

When I was born, my mom found out

that my dad was cheating on her.

I never met my dad.

My mom didn't want us to talk to him

so I'm very thankful because

even though my dad wasn't there

I had this family, my mom's side

who always supported us.

But then, we heard news that my dad got run over

by a Korean guy in Cebu.

We found out lang din recently

that we have two more other siblings.

I'm very mad at myself for

not being able to meet him before he died

'cause kahit na sabihin mong he cheated on my mom

he was still my dad.

If it wasn't for him, I'm not here.

And I want to meet my other siblings

to at least just ask them

"How was my dad like?"

"Pano ba siya naging dad sa inyo? 'Cause I never really had one."

Now, I'm 18, I want to prove myself.

I want to be known as me. As Mariah.

Not as any type of girl.

No. I matter.

Hi, i'm Danielle Mortel, I'm 20 years old

and I'm from Santa Rosa, Laguna.

Everything I do, I do it for the glory of God

and of course for my family.

Start ng competition pa lang

Kyle asked me

"What's the most important thing in life for you?"

Sabi ko, parang trick question kasi hindi naman thing yung family

pero "It's family" yung sinabi ko kasi totoo.

Behind the strong facade

is a girl trying constantly to

win this battle against herself.

I was always bullied when I was young.

I was bullied for being myself.

When you're too kind, people say things about you.

When you're being strong people say things about you.

People always say things about you and it's...

It's tiring.

I can't help cracking jokes

I can't help telling myself to be positive

because I am that.

Kahit sobrang sakit na sa loob

sobrang pagod nako.

Parang merong voice inside me saying

"Anak, it's okay to be tired."

"It's okay to give up on things that don't matter to you."

"Focus on what matters most"

"and to you that is family, so that's what you focus on."

Hello guys!

Congratulations on making to the

second half of the competition.

But...

it only gets tougher from here on out.

There are eight of you left but only three boys

and three girls will move on to the next round.

The past few weeks, we have tested you

on what it takes to become an ambassador

from walking down the runway

in outfits you styled yourself

to dancing in your own music videos

and also shooting as couples in your own commercials.

Today, we're testing you in another very important element

of becoming an SM Youth ambassador

and that's shooting high fashion campaigns.

That is right!

As you can see, we have four campaign seasons

in SM Youth every year.

Summer, denim, tee festival, and holiday.

Today, you will be shooting in your very own denim campaign

with the theme of yin and yang.

Each of you will have two layouts

representing light and dark.

Now, Bjorn will shoot you today again

but he'll be more strict and very meticulous

as if you guys are truly shooting a high-fashion campaign.

With all that said, let's start shooting.

Okay let's start, Chelsea.

Good.

Doing the photo shoot today was like

something that I was so happy about.

Relax your mouth, don't mind your braces.

I get to be just so simple.

You have to just show yourself just like that.

Perfect, Chelsea. Thank you so much.

Okay. Let's go, Ethan.

This one, I felt a lot more confident

because you get to just relax and

you know, just be yourself, I guess.

That's your angle. When you do that. That. Just saw it.

Thanks, Ethan.

Okay, tight shot, Mariah.

I think I did well 'cause

those kind of photo shoots are like my forte.

Not forte naman, but I'm really used to

doing those kind of photo shoots.

Relax your mouth. Open it a bit.

There. Good.

I think my eyes were giving more emotions now.

You nailed that. Thank you!

So, Mac.

So, the first challenge today was

to do a portrait shot

so you really had to focus on

the expression on your face.

Chin down more. Look away.

And that's my problem 'cause I have sleepy eyes and

that's what the judges have said in previous episodes.

Close your eyes. And open.

Especially 'cause it's black and white

so there's no color

so all the focus is on your face

and that dramatic kind of feel.

Yup.

Thanks Mac!

Bjorn's directions really helped me a lot also

and I really love how he's

very encouraging when you get the right

frames and the right shots.

That's good, Erika.

It motivates me.

And yeah, I'm super excited later

during the second half of the challenge.

Give me more intensity sa eyes.

Perfect. Thanks, Erika!

It was fun. It was really fun.

It was fast.

Good. Okay. More intensity sa eyes.

Chin up. More neck.

Look more there.

Pagka meron kaming weaknesses

we really work on it, make them into strengths

so I really appreciate it

Thank you!

Nice. Thank you so much, Danielle!

Let's go, Jonas.

It was really good.

Probably one of the best challenges I've had.

Okay, kahit hide ka konti.

Then relax your mouth. Open mo konti.

And yeah, it was relaxing. Really good.

Relax your fingers. Relax lang.

Thanks Jonas!

Alright. Ready, Justin.

So our first challenge is all about

the expression of your face

kailangan may mate-tell ka na story sa eyes mo.

Nice. That's good.

That's good, Justin.

However, nandoon pa rin yung kaba kasi walang safe sa amin

and dalawa ulit yung matatanggal

so sana talaga...

Please Lord.

Good job guys on your first layout.

For your second layout

I think I forgot to mention earlier

but you will have a very beautiful co-model with you.

Tommy, can you please bring her out?

Hey guys!

I'd like to introduce you to my friend, Maya!

So Maya and you guys will be working together

to produce an equally compelling layout

to complete the campaign spread.

Good luck guys!

Just pretend you have a scarf.

I've never did a shoot with a snake before.

Parang nawawala ako sa focus na

how do I handle the snake?

Yung sound niya, naririnig mo.

Chelsea, focus on me. Come on.

Chelsea.

I just want you to play with your angles slowly.

Chelsea: Yung mga last 10 shots ko na / Bjorn: Nice.

Maya was so still na parang

I was just holding its neck

I think I did mga five good shots nun.

Perfect.

I love it!

I felt surprised 'cause

Ethan was supposed to go first before me

but then Bjorn called my name

So I was like "Huh!?"

Okay, sige, I'll stand there na lang.

Let's take advantage of that.

There, nice! Good. Nice.

Show me na you're in total control of the snake.

That's good.

When they put the snake on me na

it's not very scary naman pala like I thought.

Parang "Hi, I'm your friend. Let's do a shoot together."

Perfect. Thank You Mariah.

Go, Ethan.

Yo, that thing almost bit me.

It's the first time I've held a snake.

Relax your face. Chin down a bit.

Slow movements in your face.

Ay, yan na.

it's cool, though.

I thought it bit my hand earlier 'cause it was like

Yeah, that was fun.

Thanks Ethan! Good job.

Okay Mac, good luck.

That was exhilarating!

You're looking like a

parang a British boy band superstar.

I'm not a fan of snakes but

you know, when in front of the camera and then you know that

you gotta step up your game

you gotta give it your all, that's all that matters.

Nice! That's good.

That's the shot.

Nice!

I'm happy the way things turned out

I got good feedback

and that snake, you know, that was pretty bomb.

It was pretty bomb.

Congrats.

That was good.

I enjoyed it actually because

I love animals, like, in general

but I was just scared with how I had to handle the snake

'cause like, I heard the snake was breathing really hard

so I thought I was somehow choking the snake.

Put it closer to you. There. Good.

Don't lose the neck.

Okay, just focus on your face. Slow movements.

Hopefully during the deliberation

the judges will be able to get nice photos of me

during the challenge today.

Okay, good. Thanks Erika.

Say hello to Maya.

Hi Maya!

It was an experience.

I've never come across a snake before

especially holding one.

Chin down.

Move around. Play with it.

Yeah, just relax more.

Lazy pa.

I thought this was a really good challenge 'cause

it really put us to the test.

I thought I did pretty good. Yeah.

I stepped up my game.

Yeah, but it's scary.

Scary.

The snake was fighting, it was heavy, but it was good

it was good.

Thank you!

Danielle.

It's my first time posing with a snake

At first, I was really scared

sobra kasing-

I love animals

and I don't want to mistreat it or touch it

baka ma-violate siya, ganun.

It's okay. It's okay, Dani.

Work with it! Play with it!

Yeah, that's nice! Super nice!

Sobrang exhilarating nung feeling

you should try it.

Okay, give me options left to right.

Eyes here.

Chin up a bit.

Pero nararamdaman ko pa siya. Teka lang!

Alright.

Alright, let's go, Justin.

Sigaw ka malakas.

Go. 1, 2, 3...

I haven't worked with a snake before

so it's a bit nerve-wracking.

I'm a half Slytherin but I'm afraid of snakes

but feeling ko naman na nag-connect kami nung snake.

You look like an 80's supermodel.

Put your arm like, wrap it. Yan.

Give me more expressions in your face.

Nilakasan ko lang talaga yung loob ko tapos

nakinig ako sa advice ni Bjorn.

Nice! That's good.

Sana, hopefully, fingers crossed.

Yan.

Good.

Thank you Justin!

Alright guys, congratulations on your shoot

you guys did well.

We will see later at the deliberation and good luck!

Good luck, guys!

Welcome back to the assembly.

How are you all?

Good.

So this week, we tested your high fashion capabilities

as you had to shoot your very own denim campaign with

the concept of yin and yang.

We have two very special judges joining

us in the panel today.

First up, we have top fashion photographer

who's done various campaigns for SM Youth.

Please welcome, BJ Pascual.

Hi!

Along with BJ, we have top fashion stylist and editor

who has styled various campaigns for SM Youth

and her brother was just here two weeks ago

Please welcome, Ms. Daryl Chang.

So you guys know the prizes.

The winners of the SM Youth Go-See will become

official brand ambassadors of SM Youth this 2017

will travel with the team across the country

for upcoming shows and festivals

will star in different lookbooks

and a campaign that will be featured in stores nationwide.

The winners will also receive

30,000 pesos worth of SM Youth clothing

as well as a feature in Preview magazine.

So with all that said

first up, can we have Chelsea?

We'll see her picture now?

I personally like it.

I think it looks natural.

It doesn't look like you're forcing a look.

It looks like you're just working it.

It was actually pretty funny because she would

be screaming, she doesn't wanna touch it

and then, as soon as

"Bjorn, okay, we're shooting."

The first snap, she was

pose, pose, pose.

Well, I think your edge among all is

that you already have the hair

you have the attitude already

and you have this great photo of you

this portrait of the "yin", the white one

which is all Zen and

calm and it's actually reflects on

your face also.

For the "yang", I think a

fiercer look would have worked more.

Yeah. I think if you would have pouted your lips a bit more

it would have been a bit stronger.

But yeah, Daryl is right.

Hair is everything, as we know.

Yeah.

Thank you, Chelsea!

Thank you so much! Thank you.

Next up, can we have Ethan?

Hi Ethan!

Hi Ethan.

How do you think you did?

This time I was more confident

compared to last week's challenge

but this year is my

first time modeling ever

so I'm still pretty new in the modeling industry.

So now, we'll proceed your picture.

I like your black background photo more

only because

I think you have a really strong face.

It just translated more to the fiercer one.

Yeah. I like the dark one better in this set.

We had a problem with Ethan

'cause his brow bone was protruding

but actually today he worked on it

and you were conscious, right?

And it shows. Like, you did a lot better

in terms of posing today.

Actually, I love it.

This photo is a new look. I haven't seen it, you know?

For "yin", it's very innocent and

it stands out for me.

Thank you, Ethan.

Next up, can we have Mariah?

Hi, Mariah.

Hello.

We'll proceed to your picture?

Let's check them out.

I think, for me, I love your portrait.

In fashion editorials and you as a model

I think you need to know what your

strength is in terms of how you look

and this angle for you really works because

it highlights your cheekbones

part of your lips is so nice

it gives a little bit of softness

and the contour of your face

and I like it very much.

I agree. I agree.

Your headshot is really strong.

I think it's one of the strongest I saw from the lot.

Yeah, I like that it's very young

very cool to me.

You look like you're a cool girl

but I like that you grabbed

the snake from the back

that was very interesting.

I think you generally did good.

Thank you!

Next up, can we have Mac?

Hey Mac.

How do you think you did, Mac?

Coming from last week's challenge

the panel told me that I had to

work more on my face

so that's what I tried to do

I researched some editorial shots

different photographers

that was the assignment given to us.

So let's see if it paid off.

The dark one, your face looks like you're very confident

I like your black one. I think this is a

new face we haven't seen from you.

It works well, you're holding it well, the confidence.

I appreciate that you said

that new researched on poses.

When we first saw it earlier

it was like "Ah, okay."

but now that you said it

I understand why you did it

and it actually works

it gives this photo a very moody feel

it's a lazy cool boy who's a bit tired

but, you know, I'm still hot

I'm still in front of the camera

and it's that feeling that you're giving off in this photo

and it's very good.

I like it.

I really like the portrait.

It's very cool also.

The one with the snake, not so much.

I appreciate that you held

the snake with both hands

I like your face here but

I think it looks awkward.

Thank you, Mac!

Next up, could we have Justin?

Hello guys!

Janna: Hi Justin / Justin: Hello.

So, let's see what he delivered.

Wow!

Wow. Yeah.

Wow.

I love it.

It looks very-

It's like an international model.

Thank you, my gosh.

It's so nice!

I mean, for among all the photos

I have to say yours is my favorite.

Thank you so much.

Not only because you're blonde

That too!

It's everything! I mean, the jaw is there

the hair is so nice

your jawline is there

your cheeks are prominent

your lips are soft

so it's like this photo is everything

and you nailed it.

I super agree.

Like, this is definitely the strongest picture out of

all the ones we saw.

Like, so beautiful and handsome at the same time.

Yeah.

The black picture, like, the way you're posing

it's just like, there's no snake there.

Yeah. It's just you used it as a scarf.

It doesn't look like, yeah.

It doesn't look like you're scared of the snake.

I think, one of the problems that you have sometimes is

that you're very negative about yourself.

You have such great remarks from these

people and they're high up in the industry.

You should get some confidence about it, you know?

Thanks.

Thank you!

How To Rap: 4 Ways To Work On Your Voice & Style - Duration: 6:22.

what's up everybody it's dono in this

video I'm going to be talking about four

ways to choose your rap voice or rap

style so I got a couple questions asking

for ways to pick your voice or style so

we'll just quickly go through four ways

that you can start working on that the

first thing you're going to want to do

when trying to figure out your rap voice

or rap style is to see what comes

naturally to you now we can all work on

our voices and change different things

and work on different aspects but you're

going to have a particular starting range

so you're going to want to start recording

getting familiar with what you sound

like and once you've done that you've

gotten used to your baseline you're

going to want to play around with your

vocality a lot so try you know a more

aggressive style and try a more

laid-back style or even try like a

subdued style right play around with your

voice try you know a style that's very

clear and enunciated and try a style

that is a little bit more slurred right

mess around with the different ways that

you can speak and look for these

different ranges and as you do you're

gonna find one that some things come

more naturally to you and sound better

and two that you figure out how this range

works and you can kind of place yourself

where you want to be depending on the

song so again work on what you have

naturally see what it is and then see

what fits within your range the second

thing you're going to want to look at

when trying to figure out your voice or

style is the type of music you want to

make so what kind of sound are you

trying to create do you want you know

like really soft conscious rap with a

really high emphasis on storytelling or

do you want something with like a

banging beat that's like dance music it

doesn't have as much emphasis on the

lyrics but has a ton emphasis on the

flow and making sure that all the

rhythms hit right depending on what you

want that's going to influence the way

that your delivery goes you if you

really like beats or you

you want to make music with really heavy

hard instrumentals you can't come with

a super soft delivery because you're

gonna be drowned out by the music

likewise if you're coming with this

overly aggressive delivery over a really

soft piano type instrumental it might

work but it might sound kind of weird

and clash so these are the things you

have to think about as you're trying to

figure out your rap style or voice the

next thing you're going to want to do

and you're probably sick of hearing me

say this but it's to study the artists

that you admire so figure out what

artists you like and why and what things

you want to emulate about their style so

for example if you listen to somebody

and they have really good wordplay and

that's what you want to emphasize you're

probably going to want to pick something

where you have a little bit more space

to get your wordplay across as well as a

style that you enunciate a little bit

more so that people understand the word

play you're using but if you are going with

more a direct storytelling approach you

might not need to go as slowly maybe you

can go a little bit quicker these are

the things to think about as you start

pulling techniques and ideas from other

rappers to implement yourself now I

always have to say this don't just copy

people right try to take some of the

things that they're good at and figure

out ways to implement them yourself

naturally now the last thing that you

need to understand is kind of your

unique skills and background what's

going to make you stand out what's going

to make you different how can you tell

your unique story to catch people's

attention what's going to be most

natural to you so I talked about you

know kind of vocally what's the most

natural and what fits for you but you

can also kind of look at what fits for

you best skill wise right maybe you're

really good at rhyming and that's what

you want to focus on so that's going to

influence your style and your voice

because depending on which factor you

want to emphasize you may need a certain

type of delivery to make it pop so if

the flow is something that you're really

good at putting into your head you're

going to have to make sure that your

mouth can make the same speed of

movements that you're

trying to put together it doesn't really

matter what the specific set of skills

is you just need to kind of dial into

what comes most naturally to you

combined with what you want to work on

and then find a way to create your own

unique style don't try to copy what

someone else is doing come up with what

feels like what you want to create now I

wish there was an easier or more

straightforward way that I could just

say do this this and this and you'll

instantly have your perfect rap voice

and know exactly what you need to do but

the reality is that you have to play

around with it a bit you have to put in

the work and you have to practice and

you have to see where your voice lands

as you're doing these different things

the other part of it is you have to have

kind of a conscious effort to figure out

what style you want to use and what

intonation you want to use the number

one underlying point that I want to get

across through this video is that you

should experiment with your voice

experiment with your voice and different

styles to see what comes out sounding

right because if you don't experiment

and you don't push your boundaries you

may be in one style that's not actually

what fits best for you even though you

might think that it is just based on

what you've done so far you might later

find out that there's other styles that

really suit you and that you like a lot

there's a lot of artists who have

started kind of trying to make one type

of music experiment it a little bit and

found that another type has really

worked well for them so that's all I've

got for this video as always if you have

µ's Final Love Live! - Hello, Hoshi o Kazoete - [Eng/Esp subs] - Duration: 4:39.

Hello, called by the music

The brightly lit town seems like a carnival!

Hello, if we try answering it

I'm sure our world will expand bit by bit. Hello

Shall we join in the dancing at the intersection?

Everything feels so free here!

It feels like we'll be swallowed

By the oncoming wave of people!

We don't know the words to this melody

But strangely it fills up with strength!

Hello, if we count the stars

And start to divine what we will come across in the future

Hello, it will be impossible to foretell

But I'm sure if we're together we can enjoy anything! Hello

What will happen when we wake up tomorrow?

What should we do?

Filled with excitement, I feel something is about to start!

Everything feels so radiant, we stretch out our hands high

I wonder what this excitement is...

Our own lively rhythm

Our tempo is set, feels like we can fly into the night sky!

A brand new melody

We don't know the words to this melody

But strangely it fills up with strength!

Hello, it's a message from the stars

so let's touch upon our dreams while we're full of energy!

Hello, this warmth is eternal

I'm sure if we're together we can enjoy anything! Hello

Everyone, let's go~

I love new world!

Ah, this is a new world!

This feeling of always

Wanting to try new things

Will never disappear, will it?

It will always bring us happiness, won't it?

(That's right!)

The stars(Shine)The stars(Glitter)

Are so pretty

See, they fill us up with strength!

Hello, it's a message from the stars

So let's touch upon our dream as we're full of energy!

Hello, this warmth is eternal

I'm sure everything will be fun if we're together!

Hello, if we count the stars

And start to divine what we will come across in the future

Hello, it will be impossible to foretell

But I'm sure if we're together we can enjoy anything! Hello!

CLOVER IN PARIS ♡ (CC for Engsub) - Duration: 19:47.

Hi everyone! I just arrive in Paris and now it's around 10 pm.

And I actually have no plan for this trip (since it's spontaneous)

And I'm pretty hungry now due to more than 6 hours sitting on the bus.

So I'm gonna go out for food in a few and I'll start to discover Paris tomorrow.

Now I'm on the way back home. Just finished eating "phở"

On the way to the restaurant, I felt incredibly hungry

Two years ago, I also ordered the large size "special phở", but I didn't feel so full after dinning

But now I also just finished that large size bowl of 'phở', and I don't know why I feel too full that I think I can't even walk properly =))

Hi. I'm wandering along the streets

Today is Thursday and it's also Ascension Day

So the streets are still pretty empty even though it's almost 10am

And I really enjoy it

I'm at Eiffel Tower!!!

Does anyone notice the music on the other side of the street sounds like K-drama soundtrack? :'))

It's summer so the park here is filled with green.

But it's also too hot and sunny.

But it's still not incredibly warm at the moment, around a bit more than 20 degrees. But at 12pm, it will be 30 today :'(

Hi, we're queuing in the line to get bubble tea!!!

They have discount today to celebrate this new store: "buy 1 get 1 free"

Ta-daa, we get our fresh and cold bubble tea. The one on the right is the large size.

And it tastes like heaven =))

And it's 30 degrees now.

Now we're heading to a Vietnamese restaurant for lunch.

We wanna have a traditional family VNese lunch as I haven't cooked any proper meal since I go aboard =))

Now my friend, Ngân, and I are queuing again for the Louvre Museum

It's so hot and we feel a bit headache so we cover our head with a shirt (thanks for the shirt Stan =)) )

And actually because it's so hot outside so we came up with the idea visiting somewhere indoor. And Louvre is a perfect idea!!

Hi! Now we're at the Rose Garden in the suburb of Paris.

Actually it's just 1 minute walk to the garden from the bus station, but we searched for the wrong address.

So it took us almost 30 minutes to get here :)))

The garden is pretty nice, but the flowers are gradually withered as it's no longer spring

but it's still better than nothing. And since the weather is too warm so we wanna visit somewhere green

There are more than 11,000 rosebushes and 2,900 rose pieces in the garden. Some I have never seen before.

Voilá!

Hohoo! Hahaa! Guinea pig or hamster?

Hamsters are nocturnal animals, so if you're also one, get yourself a hamster.

Guinea pigs live longer, are better at learning things and more social.

They also make a lot of mess.

So if you enjoy cleaning up, have a guinea pig.

Actually, you need to have several ones.

And Poikien Puhelin, what do we recommend?

Huh?

Earthworms!

Hole Lotta Shakin' A Tony Mandolin Short Story

By Robert Beers Chapter 3

During the late 1800's and into the years before the quake, San Francisco was called,

The Paris of the West, and rightly so.

Stepping into the atrium of the Palace was like entering a world of opulence, a Caribbean

Cruise liner on dry land.

Frankie and I were greeted by uniformed porters and valets and even dressed as we were, few

of the hotel's guests or employees gave us a second look.

As I looked around, I could see why.

As far as costumes went, we weren't even in the semifinals.

There were top hats, formal and semi-formal gowns and outfits moving in all directions.

I saw an Arab, in full desert dress walk by, accompanied by two officious-looking men in

three piece suits with bowler hats, and headed the opposite direction, an old man in a white

linen suit with an equally white head of bushy hair and—"

I took Frankie by the shoulder and turned him in the right direction.

"Do you know who that is?"

I hissed.

There was a pause and then, "Oh… my… gawd…"

I replied, "Mark Twain himself, Samuel Clemons, America's first true standup comedian.

Too bad we can't talk to him."

"But… why?"

Frankie almost wailed.

"I mean, Mark Twain…

I know, those damned butterflies."

He pouted beautifully.

"Come on," I said, "Let's find some food."

I headed towards the first liveried person I could find, a guy wearing the typical scarlet

jacket and one of the funny little pillbox hats.

"Hey, kid," I said, causing him to turn around.

When he saw me he stepped back a bit, "Uh… yes, sir?"

"In which direction is the bar?"

"Bar?

Oh, you mean the lounge.

It's right through there sir, where you see the daylight."

I'd forgotten about that.

"Thanks, kid," I said.

"Come on Frankie, you're going to love this."

He murmured, "I'm loving this already."

As he looked up at the atrium skylight nine floors above us, he said, "Oh… wow…"

I remembered reading about this place, seeing old, faded black and white photos, but the

reality was far, far more impressive.

I could see people looking down from the balconies that jutted from the atrium walls, each of

them fronting a floor, where some of the nearly 750 rooms sat.

On the floor where we stood, were scattered rather intimate looking places where people

could sit and have a private conversation while enjoying an adult beverage or two.

The bar was a good several yards away, the floor of the atrium being the size of the

standard hotel's entire footprint.

Palm trees in big planter pots were everywhere, giving the place its name, the Palm Court.

Frankie asked, "Where's the painting" "What painting?"

He waved a hand in the general direction of the bar, "The Pied Piper by Maxfield Parrish.

We should be able to see it, it's six feet high by sixteen feet long…"

"And not painted yet, big guy.

We're too early.

It went into the new hotel that isn't built yet, remember?"

"Oh poo…"

I was about to offer my condolences and suggest we find a waiter when someone went sprinting

past me, shoving me to the side.

"Thief!

Thief!

Stop that man!"

I didn't think.

I just reacted.

As I spun, I pulled out my truncheon and threw it at the thief's feet, the way Monahan

taught me all those years… ahead.

The trick worked, His feet got tangled around the bouncing shaft and down he went, ass over

ears.

I took three long steps and grabbed the guy, turning him over.

I had to jerk back to avoid the knife as he slashed at me.

It was one of those Italian stilettos, long and probably sharp enough to shave with.

And to make matters worse, he held it like he knew how to use it.

I said, as I held up my coat sleeve as a sort of shield, "You can't get out of here,

you know."

He sneered, "Yeah, who's going to stop me, you, old man?"

And then he lunged, aiming to stab.

I twisted to the side, reached down and got him in a wrist lock, bending the joint in

a direction it was not meant to go.

As I did so I wondered if martial arts was still the private secret of the city's Chinese

population.

"Aaaghh!"

The knife clattered to the marble floor.

I held him there, "Do not move and it won't break."

"It's broken already," he cried.

"No," I said, "It just feels like it.

Stay still and stay quiet now."

I heard applause, and turned around, thinking, "Oh… crap."

Nearly the entire population of the bar was standing and clapping, and all of them looking

at me.

The one clapping and grinning the widest was Frankie.

A stocky man with a cleft chin wearing what looked like a very expensive pinstriped suit

was walking rapidly across the floor toward me.

He too was smiling, just about as big as the big guy.

The thief made an attempt to pull away and shrieked, "Ow!"

"I told you," I said, looking down at him, "Don't move and it won't hurt."

"You are my hero!"

The guy in the suit boomed, holding out both hands.

"Thanks," I said, "And you are…"

"Enrico," He nearly shouted, grabbing my free hand in his and pumping away as if

I was a car jack.

"Enrico Caruso."

Then, as I stood there imitating a beached carp, he bent and shouted at the thief, "Give

me my necklace!"

The guy muttered, "He's crazy.

I got no necklace."

I shifted my grip just a bit, and asked, "What was that?"

He winced and pulled one of the larger collections of compressed carbon I'd seen outside of

a museum.

"Okay!

Okay!

Please let go."

I took the necklace and handed it to Caruso.

It was another thing I'd forgotten.

The world's greatest tenor was in Frisco before and during the earthquake.

Feeling slighted because he did not think he'd been treated with due deference by

the authorities during the aftermath, he never returned.

"Ahhh…"

He held the necklace up, letting the light play along the facets, "This is for my lady."

Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a wad of cash and held it out to me, "Here,

for the hero."

I waved my hand, but he didn't pull the money back, "No, take it, please."

"Take it, man, or you'll insult him."

I recognized that voice.

I'd recognize it anywhere, and anywhen.

Taking the money along with additional enthusiastic thanks from the original Italian Tenor, I

looked at the source of that voice and said, "Bain!"

Except is wasn't my Bain.

This one wasn't haggard and he didn't smell like an abandoned distillery.

"You know me," he said, "but I've never seen you, or that style of clothing

and the only place I've seen that style of fighting is in Imperial Japan, and there

isn't any smell of that country about you.

Who are you?"

I still had hold of the thief's wrist.

"Uh, can this wait until the police pick this guy up?"

Bain looked at the thief and shrugged, "It would be kinder to let him go.

I doubt he'll be back here again.

No one has summoned the police yet.

That's your job, according to popular opinion," he finished while looking around.

I released the wrist and toed the thief away.

"Go on," I growled, "Get out of here."

Bain nodded in approval.

"Very good.

You can think.

That's another glaring difference."

Frankie came over and asked, "Uh… aren't you Landau Bain, the wizard?"

Bain looked at the big guy, saying nothing, and then he shrugged and said, as he turned

away, "Come with me."

We were led across the floor over to the bar.

Bain slapped the deep reddish wood of the bar and shouted, "Boothby!"

A man peeked around the bar and said, "Umm, Bill's not here today.

He's laid up."

"Who're you?"

Bain demanded.

"I'm, uh…

I'm Steve, the new guy?" Bain hadn't changed.

Drunk or sober he could make anybody nervous.

"Steve?

Steve who?

What's your real name?"

"Steve Hunt," He said.

"Well, Steve Hunt, what do you know about cocktails?

You're the backup for the best mixologist in the world, you know.

That's William "Cocktail" Boothby."

You had to give the guy credit.

He held his ground.

"I'm still learning, sir, but I do have about three dozen memorized so far.

I was even able to teach one to Bill myself."

Bain looked impressed.

"Really?

What was it?"

"It's one I was taught when I was in Cuba, You place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into

the glass.

Then crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice.

Then you add two more lime wedges and a bit of sugar, crushing again to release the lime

juice.

I do not strain the mixture, but fill the glass almost to the top with ice.

I pour white rum over the ice, and fill the glass with soda water."

"Ah," Bain said, "The Mojito.

I was wondered who would be the one to bring it to these shores."

He held out a hand, "Glad to know you, Steve Hunt.

I like a man who knows his rum."

"Yes sir," Steve grinned as he shook Bain's hand.

"Want me to make you one?"

Bain shook his head, "No, give me a beer."

Steve, shaking his head as he pulled the handle, did not see the smile Bain sent my way.

I'd seen hints of a sense of humor from the wizard, but a sober, un-crabby Landau

Bain was going to take some getting used to.

"You two fellows want something to drink?"

Bain asked.

"I'd rather eat," Frankie said.

I agreed, "Yeah, I'm getting pretty hungry myself."

Bain nodded as he sipped his beer, "You know, I could eat myself."

Turning to Steve he said, "Have one of the waiters come see us over…" he looked around

and then pointed toward the far side of the court, "That setting over there."

Steve nodded, "Right away sir.

Shall I add the beer to the tab?"

Bain nodded, "Of course, and add a decent tip for yourself."

"Yes, sir!"

Once we were all settled, and Frankie and I stowed our coats and hats, Bain pointed

at my slacks pocket, "You might want to count that.

Enrico can be rather extravagant in his thank yous."

I'd forgotten about the money already.

I pulled it out and noticed the outside bill was a hundred.

Bain murmured, "Well, that top bill will buy you a nice house…"

I counted the money.

"There's ten thousand dollars here."

Frankie breathed out, "Oh my god…"

I looked at him and said, "That's the third time you said that Frankie."

He pointed at the money, "Justified."

Bain added, "Either be a really big tipper, which will do nothing but draw attention to

you, or you had best have some smaller denominations."

I said, "Yeah, I do.

There's a couple of tens in the roll."

"Way too big," he growled, "Even in this place a nice dinner for three, including

drinks is about four bucks.

On that, the tip shouldn't be more than an extra dollar, and that would be considered

being very generous."

I rattled my other pocket.

The silver dollars clinked.

Bain cocked his head, "Five of those things?

Good, very good.

That'll more than cover dinner and the tip, and the last dollar can be the ante."

"Ante?"

Frankie and I spoke in unison.

Bain smiled, "Nice.

Like trained seals.

Ante, as in poker.

You want answers, and a poker game is the best, and potentially most profitable way

of getting them."

The waiter arrived and both Frankie and I ordered the porterhouse and beer.

Bain ordered the roast chicken and a dry white wine some winery in Northern California was

bottling called Gallo Blanc.

As we were eating a couple of the biggest steaks I'd ever seen, Bain said, "All

right.

Now that you have some food in you, tell me this, when are you from?"

I nearly spat my beer through my nose, "W-what?"

He chewed and swallowed and then sipped some of his wine.

"You heard me," he said.

"One of the things a wizard can do is see auras, and both of you show the strain of

time travel.

So again, when are you from?"

Frankie opened his mouth.

I said, "No spoilers, big guy.

All right, the date was March, 4th, 2017."

Bain's eyes became hooded, "Over a hundred and ten years?

This century must seem like the dark ages to you two.

Have they discovered that colony on Europa yet?"

"Huh?"

Frankie asked.

I said, "No, we're still expanding the space station, but they are working on perfecting

flying cars."

"Huh," Bain grunted, "So Tesla was right after all.

I'll have to apologize."

Then he gave me a much, much harder look, "Why are you here, and why now?"

So, keeping my voice low I brought the Bain of the past up to speed on the case that started

the whole thing.

When I got to the part about the blue goop spitting tube he stopped me.

"Hold it," He said, then he took a sip of wine and added, "Something about that

sounds familiar…"

"Landau Bain, as I live and breathe!

Where've you been keeping yourself son?"

I looked up and there, standing right before us was Sam Clemons, old Mark Twain himself.

Still wearing that white linen suit, but this time holding an honest to goodness Cuban cigar

in his fingers.

Frankie squeaked, and I had to put a hand on his shoulder to settle him down.

Time travel was not the place for fanboy geekiness.

I was too late.

Clemons looked down at Frankie and asked, congenially, "Cat got your tongue, boy?

Spit it out now.

I don't bite," he pulled on his cigar, blew the smoke out and then added, with a

smile, "Much."

Bain rescued me, "Sam, ease up on the guy.

I don't know why, but it seems he's a real fan of your work and is just a bit star-struck

right now."

"Well… isn't that nice," Clemons said shifting the cigar to the other side of his

mouth, "I was wondering if the black folk would catch the reason I wrote Jim the way

I did.

You know, that gives me an idea.

Why don't you bring your new friends over to the poker game tonight?

Yes… that'll be just the ticket.

Let's see if Harris can keep his streak going with new blood in the game.

And let's see if they're as progressive as they claim they are."

He pulled out the cigar, looked up at the balconies and then said, "See you later

fellas," And walked off, chuckling.

Frankie was panting.

"Sam… freaking…

Clemons… called me boy…"

I said, "Easy big guy, it wasn't anything racist—"

Frankie turned to me showing a huge grin, "Do you know the stories I'm going to

have?!

No one will be able to top this!"

I heard Bain murmur, "I don't think your friend's upset."

The waiter came by asking if the food was to our liking.

With Clemons' visit, I'd forgotten about it.

I glanced at the plate, bare of anything other than the steak bone, I said, "Yes.

It was."

Then he asked, "Will you be paying now or upon check out sir?"

"Huh?"

Bain said, "On check out.

Thanks, Andrew.

That will be all for now."

He held up a hand, forestalling my next question.

Then he said, "Caruso gave you enough money to purchase an entire floor of this hotel

for a year, with maid service, board and additional… entertainments.

From what I can tell, you won't be here that long, so why not have your stay be somewhere

comfortable?

It is far better than a noisy, smelly hostel, right?"

Frankie said, "I'm in.

Where do we sign?"

Bain looked at the big guy and smiled, "I like him.

He's different."

All I could think of was what caused Bain to change as much as he has?

He stood, dusted off his pants and put on his coat.

"I will come by your rooms at six this evening and escort you to the game.

Be ready, and be aware, most of these people cheat… badly."

"Rooms?"

I asked.

He nodded, "Of course.

You can afford it.

I believe the numbers are 503 and 504.

Both have a window onto Market Street.

Nice view.

Remember, six o'clock.

Oh, and I'd suggest that both of you visit the tailor shop.

Right now you stand out like a six-alarm fire."

And then he walked off.

Frankie said, "Tony, I'm a bit confused."

I sighed, "You and me both, big guy."
