KENZO "Music is my Mistress", a film by Kahlil Joseph - Duration: 12:14.

He was a musician's musician

Born deaf

Sound was introduced late in life

And then everything changed

I mean you do understand what I do, right?

He's letting me in though, that's why I have to stick with it

If he's letting me in, I'm going to stay here until I find it

That's not even a real fucking address

People can't find this dude

I'm not trying to be out here when shit gets dark

Do you know where Figueroa Street is? Are we...

Are we close to that or not even?

Yeah you are close

She is a smart person

Incredible wealth, incredibly well traveled, intellectual

She couldn't find you, she knew I could

And then everything changed

No, no, no don't say anything just call me if you see him

Pick up G....

No, no he's got his car, he'd drive himself, he doesn't let anyone drive

[Please leave a message after the tone]

Nobody can find her

… and they are trying

And she's been trying to find you for eight months

I can't get her back if we lose her now. Ok?

She's banned from the country B.

And she's willing to fly to you.

I'm here to see the princess.

Oh, come on in

Nice to meet you

Nice to meet you

Is she here?

She is. She's in the main house,

this is the guest house

Yes....right

Right this way

Yeah, no, I'm in the guest house

which is a five bedroom mansion and from here, I can't even see the house where she's staying

Some henchman, with an impressive accent

shows up and takes my phone

basically muscles the phone away and gives me some old flip phone

Turns out the only number I can really remember is...

my mom's landline

Just ended up talking to my mom for like an hour

That's fine, did he make the team?

She made it very clear that she won't even come visit me until he arrives

Did you fucking ask her?

I don't need you like inferring things. Just ask her directly

She waited

He never showed up

After three days, she vanished

We never discussed it, him and I

We don't go there for them, we go there for us

That's a two way street homie

Give me seven dates

No less than five... give me seven to ten

Small though, right. Small...

No more than 300. Like cocktail lounge-y Josephine Baker shit

Word-of-mouth, old-school playbills

It's really what it's about. Like song-writing…

Reporting : BIG BANG(ENG SUB, 빅뱅), Part 2 [K-pop Zum In] - Duration: 4:03.

In today's K-Pop Zum In, we introduce you to the second story of boy idol group, <BIGBANG>.

BIGBANG had come back with a project titled, "M.A.D.E Project," where they released 1 single album every month for 4 months starting May, 2015.

With a total of 8 songs including <LOSER>, <BAE BAE> and <BANG BANG BANG>, they literally killed most music charts at home and abroad.

Along with the praise, "Only BIGBANG can do that," the boy group wrote down a historic record of winning a total of 6 grand prizes at 4 major music awards.

In Dec. of 2016, BIGBANG released their third album <MADE>, their regular album in 8 years, and showed another level of their musical talents.

With their songs <FXXK It> and <Last Dance>, BIGBANG finally completed their long journey of "M.A.D.E Project."

Topping the K-pop scene with their talents in music, popularity and fame, BIGBANG has been maintaining the No.1 place for over 10 years.

Going over the limitations of agency-made idol singers, BIGBANG is influencing next generation singers as "artists," being called as "the idol of idol singers."

From now on, we'll talk about the three members who make up the vocal parts of BIGBANG.

First, we have main vocalist and main dancer Taeyang, who is Dong Young-bae from Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi-do Province, born in 1988.

By appearing in Jinusean's music video of the song <A-Yo>, Taeyang became a trainee at YG Entertainment.

Even as a solo artist, Taeyang achieved great success with his R&B singing skills that capture the groove of the genre and his second-to-none dancing skills.

With his first mini-album as a solo artist that includes the song <Look At Me Only>,

he received both the "Album of the Year" and "Song of the Year" awards in R&B category at Korea Music Awards.

For the first time as an Asian artist, his song ranked second and first in the I-Tunes R&B/Soul Album Chart in the U.S. and Canada, respectively.

With his second regular album as a solo artist that has the song, <Eyes, Nose, Lips>, Taeyang received two grand prizes in total.

For the first time as a solo artist in Korea, his song recorded 112th in the Top Billboard 200 Chart, as well.

Taeyang publicly admitted he's dating actress Min Hyo-rin, and they have been going out for 3 years now.

Next is lead vocalist Daesung, who is Kang Dae-sung from Seoul, born in 1989.

Through the group's survival program, Daesung became the member of BIGBANG with a consensus from all judges.

Daesung is usually in charge of high pitches, as he has a husky voice with a wide spectrum.

His solo trot singles <Look At Me, GwiSoon!> and <It's A Big Hit> received lots of love from various age groups.

He appeared as a regular guest at the SBS variety show <Family Outing>, which gave him national popularity.

When Daesung is working overseas including Japan, he uses his stage name, "D-Lite," meaning "Delight."

As a first for a Korean solo artist, he recorded No.2 at Oricon Weekly Chart, and mobilized some 100,000 audience for 2 consecutive years for his tour concerts.

Lastly, there is sub-vocalist Seung-ri, who is Lee Seung-hyun from Gwangju, born in 1990.

Seung-ri is from a famous dance team called, "Ilhwa" from Gwangju,

and he is the "youngest" of BIGBANG, who have been dramatically integrated into the group through the last audition.

His first solo song <Strong Baby> achieved a triple-crown of No.1s in music programs,

and with his two solo albums, he recorded 12 times of No.1s in all, which was a great success.

Among the members, Seung-ri is the best person as an MC, and has excellent foreign language skills,

which make him able to show off his talents not only in Korea's variety shows but also in Japan and China's.

When he's doing work overseas, he uses his stage name "V.I." meaning "Victory."

With their songs <Fantastic Baby> and <BANG BANG BANG>, which went over 200 million music video hits on YouTube,

BIGBANG has 6 music videos that have gone over 100 million hits (Group, Unit, Solo all included).

By collaborating with global artists, BIGBANG has been showing off their presence as one of the most representative K-pop artists.

However, starting with T.O.P's army service in Feb., 2017, all members are scheduled to serve the country, and the group is planning to have a break of 3 years.

We'll be waiting for the "Great BIGBANG," when all members finish military service and come back to the stage!

Please look forward to our next episode of K-Pop Zum In, featuring "ASTRO!"

To the fans of K-Pop from overseas, please put a caption in your language to this clip so that much more people can get to know your favorite K-Pop artists.

Vegan gelato and sandwich in Rome - Duecentogradi & Della Palma - Duration: 10:52.

We are now here in Rome!

Cloaca Maxima, the outfall of ancient Roman sewage system

It can't really be captured on camera how huge the dome of Pantheon is

This was the largest concrete dome ever built from the second century all the way to 20th century

That's pretty amazing

I love this place since you don't need to queue to get in and it's free to enter

The prices here are cheaper if you choose to stand by the bar instead of sitting by the table

Sometimes it's quite a large price difference

So we're standing here by the bar and enjoying cappuchino

And Lotta is enjoying tiramisu

Ford has chosen a great place for their ad

Behind the ad you can see Vatican

In the peak tourism season, this route we just walked must be very popular

From Colosseum, through Pantheon to Vatican

There are many salesmen along the route, selling selfie sticks and stuff like that in winter as well

This city is very walkable

It was about five kilometers from our hotel, or our AirBnB actually, which is located close to Colosseum, to walk all the way to Vatican

We'll now enter Vatican

Visiting Vatican and the church doesn't cost anything

But if you want to visit the museum or climb all the way up to the dome, you'll need to pay an entrance fee

On a Sunday like this, around noon, you may see the Pope praying by the window over there

We need to queue for security screening before we can enter Vatican

In summer, you'll need to reserve around 45 minutes for queuing

It seems like it'll take a bit less than that right now

There is a queue here in winter as well

Mail from Vatican to Finland

This place is amazing

I'm blown away

I'm amazed

Gorgeous place and it's free to enter

Two things I didn't expect to find here, but I did

My recommendations

And since you can walk here it's a perfect day trip

We found this place that sells vegan sandwiches

And you can choose dark bread if you wish

This one has vegan salami, vegan cheese, homemade chili sauce, sundried tomatoes and olive paste

It's all vegan

Is it good?

Delicious

Very nice

This was seven euros but we got it for six since the cashier made a mistake and said it's ok

My recommendations, this place is located right besides Vatican

This is made of wood

But next to it isn't

If you know why, let me know

Antti is confused

Around every corner here in Rome, one of us is like "what is THAT"?

There is such a huge amount of everything ancient here around every corner

It's incredible

This city is the best

In many of the cafe's here, you'll need to purchase a ticket first to get the coffee, pastry or gelato from the counter

It's quite convenient

I wonder what these mousses here are

There's gelato here and then this one says mousse

I don't know but they all look amazing

Look! Mozartkugel! I want that one

I got to choose three flavors for this medium sized serving

I chose tiramisu, Nutella and Mozartkugel

This one is tiramisu

The flavor is very nice

Which one was... I'll just have a taste

These are both the same color

It's absolutely delicious

I chose the traditional gelato but they also have vegan options here

The place's very nice

This place is called Della Palma

It says here they have 150 flavors available

They say that if you toss a coin into Fontana di Trevi, you'll return to Rome

I tossed a coin there in 2005 and now I'm back!

It seems to be working, let's see if it works again

I'll toss this five cents of beauty there

We'll see when we'll return to Rome, but I want to travel back here

There are so much to see here

Here, as in every sightseeing spot we've visited around the world, there are a lot of people here as well

A few years ago, I watched a series called "Cake Boss" on Netflix

In this series, a man who's family comes from Sicily bakes all kinds of treats

And their specialty is cannoli

And they looked so nice

So now I'll have a taste of what cannoli is like

I'm not sure if the filling is cream or something else but let's see

Yeah

It's not too sweet

At least not this particular one

The filling's not cream, it's...

It's probably egg white...

I have no idea

But it's tasty

I'll take it

The sights here are gorgeous in the daytime

But it's great how they light up the ruins, Colosseum and other spots by night

It looks beautiful here

We are in Tampere

Unions fear more states will approve right-to-work laws as similar bill comes to Congress - Duration: 4:52.

A national right-to-work law has once again appeared in Congress — but unions fighting the legislation say the real threat is on the state level.

Rep. Steve King, a Republican from Iowa, brought the National Right to Work Act to the House of Representatives Feb. 1.

The bill aims to let private sector workers across the country opt out of paying union dues if they don't want to be members.

Currently, in states that don't have right-to-work laws, an employee can decline to join a workplace union — but they can't avoid paying at least some dues if they work at a unionized facility.

That's because unions are still required by law to represent all workers equally — even those that decline to officially sign up as members. Labor organizations have successfully argued for decades that they're entitled to at least some dues if they have to cover the costs of protecting a non-union member.

Since King brought his national legislation to Congress — where it awaits a committee hearing — Missouri became the 28th state to enact right-to-work legislation. It passed a right-to-work law Feb. 6.

Last week, New Hampshire narrowly missed becoming the 29th state. It rejected a right-to-work bill in a tense 200-177 vote in its House of Representatives.

The Teamsters, one of the nation's largest unions, had launched a massive call to action ahead of the Feb. 16 decision.

"Our members and their families worked hard to send a message to the legislature that right to work is wrong for New Hampshire," said Jeffrey Padellaro of Local 633, adding that he was "thrilled" with the result. But the Granite State was a rare win for unions in recent years, as right-to-work legislation has gained traction.

Before Missouri flipped, a bitter battle was lost in Kentucky on Jan. 7 — and another in West Virginia on Feb. 12. In Kentucky, Democrats were able to quash right-to-work laws for years because they controlled the state House.

But when the party lost its majority in November, the legislation flew through to land on the Republican governor's desk — and he promptly signed it.

Kentucky also got rid of its prevailing wage act — a law that prevents bidders for state construction job to go below the set wage used by union workers.

Vice President Pence backed a right-to-work law when he was governor of Indiana. Trump also seems to support the law, based on comments from Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

(Pablo Martinez Monsivais/AP)

Twenty-eight states are now operating under right-to-work laws — a fact those officials often tout when trying to lure companies to move to their areas.

Twenty-two states, including New York, have held off on the legislation. There is no immediate concern among labor leaders that the Empire State is in danger of change — but the future of other states is not so secure.

"You can't rule out anything," said Kuba Brown, business manager for International Operating Engineers Locals 94, 94A and 94B. His 6,300 members are engineers working in high-rise buildings, public schools, hotels, power plants and all kinds of large buildings.

"Our union is reaching out, through email blasts and phone calls, trying to get the message out to members," he said.

Groups that are pro-right to work often couch their message in terms of choice, point out that their laws free workers from "forced fees" and allow for managers to pay well-performing employees higher wages than less skilled workers.

Those messages can be seductive, Brown acknowledged.

"Initially it might sound great, but then what is the worker going to lose? If the union goes under — and without dues-paying members, that can happen — that's people's health funds and pension and of course their middle-class wages. It drives down the wages and benefits for everyone," he said.

"It's not good for families and it's not good for the country." According to the AFL-CIO, the poverty rate in right-to-work states is 15.3%, compared to 12.8% in other states.

The average worker in a right-to-work state makes $6,109 less per year than workers in what the AFL-CIO calls a "free bargaining state."

Right-to-work states also have a 13% rate of uninsured employees versus 9.4% in other states, the AFL-CIO said.

"Right to work is a lie dressed up in a feel-good slogan," AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka said Feb. 1, after King introduced his national legislation.

AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka called the right-to-work legislation "a lie dressed up in a feel-good slogan."

(Christian science monitor)

Mark Mix, head of the National Right to Work Foundation, a group that promotes the legislation on the state and national levels, said his organization is hopeful that for the first time ever, the federal bill might actually come into play.

"It's been introduced before, to several Congresses," he said.

It's never garnered enough bipartisan support to make it through either house and it still faces a rough road, he admitted.

But now there is more support up high in D.C., he added.

"Vice President Mike Pence... he is an advocate for right to work," Mix said. Indiana was the 25th state to adopt the legislation in 2012, before Pence became governor.

"He has said he found it helpful in creating new industry and investment opportunities," Mix said.

As for Trump, it will still "take a lot of work" to get a federal bill to the White House, Mix said. But he believes the President will support the effort, based on recent comments from Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

Spicer said "the President believes in right to work" during a press briefing Feb. 3.

"He wants to give workers and companies the flexibility to do what's in the best interest for job creators. Obviously, the Vice President has been a champion of this as well," Spicer told reporters at the meeting.

Embattled NYC Children's Services agency caseloads sharply rising following Zymere Perkins death - Duration: 5:40.

Last fall, the city's child welfare agency came under heavy fire for failing to intervene before 6-year-old Zymere Perkins was beaten to death in a squalid Harlem apartment caseworkers had visited many times.

In response, the Administration for Children's Services insisted that everything was under control, pointing out that caseloads were well below acceptable maximum levels.

The day before Zymere died, the average caseload was 9.2 per worker — well below the target of 12 cases ACS had set "based on national best practice standards."

"Best practice" went out the window in December.

Following Zymere's death, ACS began getting an increased number of abuse calls. As a result, by December, workers were juggling the highest caseloads in years — on average, 13.8 cases at any given time.

The city Medical Examiner's Office said Zymere Perkins' death was a homicide.

This is happening even as the city hired 600 more caseworkers last year; at the same time, however, more and more caseworkers are leaving, overwhelmed by a very stressful job.

The end result is child welfare workers managing more cases each week, increasing the likelihood of missing something or improperly closing a case.

"The caseloads are going up," said Anthony Wells, president of Social Service Employees Union Local 371, which represents ACS child protective specialists. "You need to hire to address the attrition rate. You know in this period you're going to get increased calls because of the high-profile cases."

The spike in caseloads is just the latest symptom of a bureaucracy in crisis, a Daily News review of records and interviews with officials found.

As of last week, for example, ACS has been without an appointed commissioner for two weeks. On Tuesday, a day after he said not a word about the agency during his State of the City speech, Mayor de Blasio refused to give an estimated time frame for a replacement.

"I don't do ETAs," he said.

Two weeks ago, Sheila Poole, head of the state Office of Children and Family Services, the agency that oversees ACS, threatened to turn off the funding spigot if ACS didn't get its act together. The state steered $858 million to ACS last year.

Last month, Gov. Cuomo announced that a temporary monitor imposed by the state would soon begin tracking ACS' promised reforms. It's not yet clear how much that will cost because a formal contract hasn't been drafted.

And last week, the governor made clear that if ACS fails to comply with the temporary monitor's "corrective action plan," the state will impose long-term oversight.

The rapid decline of ACS began in May, when the city Department of Investigation issued a report detailing systemic failures by the $2.9 billion agency to properly track and follow up on abuse complaints.

DOI gave ACS Commissioner Gladys Carrion 30 days to implement several recommended reforms, and ACS promised to comply.

In September, came the death of Zymere, whose family had been visited repeatedly by ACS for a year. His mother's boyfriend was ultimately charged with beating the child to death.

As the spotlight again focused on ACS, Carrion had to admit that she had yet to implement any of DOI's recommendations. During an October City Council hearing looking into the agency's handling of the Zymere case, the commissioner broke into tears and promised once again to implement a series of reforms.

Then, in December, came the death in Brooklyn of 3-year-old Jaden Jordan, who prosecutors would later say was fatally assaulted by his mother's abusive boyfriend.

It was revealed that ACS had tried to check out an abuse tip two days before the child died, but visited the apartment next door. It was later disclosed that the agency had access to a database that would have given them the correct address, but didn't use it and didn't intervene until after the child was dead.

On Dec. 12, Carrion announced her resignation.

The next day, the state Office of Children and Family Services — which runs the central register that fields all child abuse allegations — blasted ACS with a scathing report detailing a series of failures that preceded Zymere's death.

Carrion stayed on for several weeks while de Blasio searched for a replacement, but finally left the job Feb. 3. ACS has been without an appointed commissioner since.

ACS acknowledges the increased caseload, but blames that on the publicity generated by the high-profile cases of Zymere and Jaden.

"We recognize that caseloads rise temporarily following high-profile cases, and averages fluctuate at various times throughout the year, which is why our continued focus remains building on the 600 workers we've recently hired," said Acting Commissioner Eric Brettschneider.

The mayor has yet to confront his own role in ACS' failures. Grilled by Albany legislators last month, he blamed the media for inflating problems at the agency.

During his State of the City speech last week, he didn't talk about the agency at all. Questioned by reporters, he explained that he didn't feel the need to address all of the city's issues at once, choosing instead to focus on a new push for job creation.

In addition to the 600 new caseworkers, de Blasio hired 12 liaisons to work with district attorneys in handling the cases of troubled families. There are now about 1,800 caseworkers in all.

And he's addressing DOI's concerns about "conflicts of interest" due to a lack of independent monitoring of cases by bringing in 12 staffers to audit cases "where case concerns are identified."

ACS and the NYPD have also teamed up to use data to measure performance through a system known as ChildStat, a spinoff of the wildly successful CompStat used by the Police Department.

But Local 371 President Wells says still more front-line staff is needed to keep up with the rising tide of abuse calls and what he calls an increased need for paperwork.

Asked if he was told when a new commissioner would arrive to move things forward, Wells shrugged.

"I guess they're taking their time," he said. "I don't know what they're doing.

LOVETT: N.Y. Senate boss wants Schumer, Gillibrand to stop fighting Trump and do their jobs - Duration: 4:24.

ALBANY — The state's top elected Republican is calling on New York's two U.S. senators to do their jobs and start governing.

Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan accused Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, both Democrats, of jeopardizing New York's interests in Washington by their continued attacks on President Trump.

With Trump hailing from New York, Flanagan (R-Suffolk County) said the state has a "unique opportunity to have the eyes and ears of the executive branch in Washington focused on New York."&lt;NO1&gt;"But, the national Democrats from New York are throwing that away all because they want to play partisan politics," he said.&lt;NO&gt;

Gillibrand has voted against all of Trump's cabinet-level nominations, with the exception of Nikki Haley for UN ambassador.

Flanagan said that in contrast, state Senate Republicans, who have had an icy relationship with Gov. Cuomo in recent months, nonetheless unanimously approved his recent "highly qualified" appointee to the state's top court.

"In New York, we're functioning and we're doing our jobs," said Flanagan, who is said to be considering a run for governor. He added that "New York's leaders have a responsibility to foster a relationship with the President because it will benefit the people of New York.

"Instead of building bridges, they are putting up walls," Flanagan said.

Gillibrand spokesman Marc Brumer responded that "state Sen. Flanagan may be afraid to stand up to President Trump when he threatens to do things like rip away health care from thousands of New Yorkers, but Sen. Gillibrand is not."

A Schumer spokesman had no comment.

At 63%, Schumer had the highest approval rating of any New York statewide elected official in a Siena College poll late last month. By contrast, 55% of New Yorkers had an unfavorable view of Trump.

Gov. Cuomo recently urged state Senate Democrats during a private meeting at the governor's mansion to tamp down hostilities with a breakaway group of fellow Dems aligned with the Republicans, sources say.

Three sources in the room and one briefed about the meeting said Cuomo also suggested the best way to unify the fractured Senate Dems could be a leadership change to the mainline conference.

"A senator asked for political advice and the governor said it's simple: They have to win seats and should stop with the nasty internal bickering and they should change their political leadership because no one is going to support a team that keeps losing and keeps the same leadership," a source said.

A second source said Cuomo looked directly at Senate Deputy Democratic Leader Michael Gianaris, the Queens lawmaker who headed up his conference's electoral efforts, when he made the comment.

But three others, including two who were in the room, denied Cuomo talked about a political leadership change.

"Whoever is saying that should deal with facts, stop dealing with alternative facts and realize Democrats won," said Senate Democratic spokesman Mike Murphy, who was briefed on the meeting.

"The reason we don't have the majority is because of rogue Democrats being enabled to help Republicans."

Cuomo had a group of mainline Senate Dems, including Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins (Yonkers) and Gianaris (Queens), to the governor's mansion to talk about the budget when the discussion turned to the war with the Independent Democratic Conference, the sources said.

Among those also in attendance were Sens. Martin Dilan (Brooklyn), Todd Kaminsky (Nassau County), Tim Kennedy (Buffalo) and John Brooks (Nassau County), sources said. The talk took place not long after Sen.

Jose Peralta's surprising defection from the mainline Dems to the IDC created an outcry against the breakaway group.

"I don't think anyone expected the (public) reaction to the Peralta defection," one Dem said. "I don't think the governor did, either. I'm sure he's thinking about next year when he's running for election.

If this is going to be at his doorstep, it's going to be ugly."

Cuomo will be heading into his anticipated reelection campaign next year without one of his longtime money men.

Campaign Finance Director Thomas Giordano recently — and quietly — left his job after first joining Cuomo's team in 2009. He doubled since 2011 as finance director for the state Democratic Party that Cuomo controls.

Giordano, in a recent email announcing his departure, revealed his successor is Gita Tiku, who served as New York finance co-director for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

Giordano is set to become the executive director for the Partnership for Rhode Island and will serve as a consultant to the Cuomo campaign during the transition, a source said.
