지난 18일(현지 시간) 동물 전문 매체 더도도는 브라질 상파울루 주 리메라 지역에 있는 'Sociedade Operária Humanitária' 병원에서 강아지 마롬(Marrom)이 주인을 32시간 넘게 기다린 사연을 전했다.
사연에 따르면 마롬의 주인은 갑작스런 호흡곤란 증세를 보여 Sociedade Operária Humanitária 병원으로 급히 후송됐다.
그런데 이 모습을 모두 지켜보던 반려견 마롬은 앰뷸런스 내부에서도 주인을 곁을 지켰다.
마롬은 이후 응급실 내부는 들어가지 못해 병원 외부에서 하염없이 기다리기 시작했다.
또한, '이 강아지는 주인을 기다리고 있다'는 안내문도 부착해 유기견이 아님을 알렸다.
이를 딱히 여긴 병원 관계자는 물과 음식을 제공했다.
마롬은 이후에도 계속 주인을 기다렸고 다음날이 돼서야 병원에서 퇴원한 주인과 재회했다.
해당 사연을 전한 더도도는 "충성스런 강아지 마롬의 사연은 현지 언론인 UOL 뉴스 리포트에도 보도가 됐다"며 "주인을 사랑하고 걱정하는 마음은 칭찬받아 마땅하다"고 전했다.

The recent additions to the Justice League
may be new to the cinematic universe,
but their history in the comics spans decades.
Hey, everybody. I'm Ray Fisher.
Stepping into the shoes of these iconic superheroes
was a challenging but incredibly exciting task for us all.
But what was most thrilling was delving into the hearts of these characters.
Their ideas, their psyches, their pasts,
everything that shaped them up to the point we find them in the film.
We had a blast injecting our personal spin on the roles
as we came together and were officially inducted into
the Justice League.
Check this out.
This is DC Comics Presents #26,
the very first introduction of the character Victor Stone,
AKA Cyborg.
Now, here he is talking to his father in S. T.A.R. Labs.
"You screwed up this experiment.
"You should've left me the way I was.
"At least I'd be dead by now
"instead of trapped in this mechanical body."
Ever since the beginning,
Victor Stone struggled with what he had become.
Once an all-star college athlete with a genius-level intellect,
he was now a walking, talking science experiment.
An outcast who constantly referred to himself as a freak and a monster.
But whether he liked it or not,
Cyborg represented a new type of superhero,
the perfect hybrid of man and machine.
He was a character ahead of his time.
Back in 1980, when he first stepped onto the scene,
the Internet wasn't even invented yet.
But as technology in our world evolved, so did Cyborg's powers.
Among these powers are flight, super strength,
unlimited access to data, and an ever-evolving arsenal.
Cyborg's ability to interface with any and all technology
makes him one of DC's most relevant superheroes in this digital age,
and an essential member of the Justice League.
Portraying someone whose humanity
is wrestling with the alien technology inside of him
was an exciting challenge for me.
Even if that meant I had to wear pajamas all day on set.
(CHUCKLES)

Can't believe it, man.
To see all these guys in costume, ready to go.
Got half a ping-pong ball taped to my eye, you know,
but there are worse things that could happen to you.
What I'm wearing, this is a performance capture suit.
We got the dots here to capture all the joints and mobility and motion
that Cyborg's going to be having.
A chest light here so you can see the core of Cyborg glowing,
and we've got the ping-pong ball with the LED lights on it,
so that the shadows fall in appropriate places on other people.
The biggest challenge for me would be acting as if I am in this heavier gear.
I look around and I see Batman in the Batsuit,
I see Wonder Woman in her gear, everybody's looking really cool,
and I look down at me and I'm just in the pajamas,
and I'm thinking, "You know what? We'll get it in post."
But it actually gives me a little bit more to work with
'cause that's also a situation that Cyborg is going through
in the context of the story.
He can't take off his costume, he can't live that normal life.
But everybody else can just take off the cowl and hang up the boot
and just go off and be their alter ego, he can't do that.
So I feel like it's a little bit of fuel for the fire
if that makes any sense.
That character's got a really interesting journey
because he has to come to grips
with whether or not he would rather be dead.
Because, is he actually alive?
Is the human part of him still existing?
To have an actor who can actually make you care about them
is just a testament to how good an actor Ray is.
Physically, the training has been rigorous.
About five days a week, two hours a day,
put on about 20 pounds of muscle, or of what I hope is muscle.
I hope it's muscle.
It feels good to have that discipline.
Because Victor Stone before he became Cyborg
was a college athlete.
Back in 1980, when George Perez and I created Cyborg,
he was sort of an outlier, now he's the vanguard.
He is what we are becoming because as our natural parts fade,
they're being replaced by tech,
they're being replaced by computers inside of us.
Geoff Johns, when he was writing the Justice League
and put him in there, and took him to the next step
and moved more into the current time period.
He understood that this is a character who lives in the Internet
in a way that he could see what's happening all around the world.
Is Steppenwolf there?
Just a minute.
Sorry.
It's Pozharnov in northern Russia.
Cyborg is always online.
His epic backdrop is the digital landscape
and the digital landscape is so important to us today,
it's such a part of our world
that our world would not function the same without it.
And if you have mastery over that digital landscape,
you have ultimate power.
And what do you do with that power?
FISHER: We're all Cyborgs these days.
You got a cell phone in your pocket, I've got a cell phone in my pocket.
And you feel naked if you don't have it.
We've come to a place where we 're so dependent on technology,
we feel alone.
So Cyborg is the amalgamation of those ideas.
He's essentially the gateway
to where I believe we may or may not be headed in the future.
With Cyborg, it'll be interesting to see
just how his technology can either help or hurt the human race.
The possibilities are endless.

"is the story of Aquaman,
"who, like a water god of old,
"dwells in the dim unknown depths of the ocean,
"leaping forth to do battle
"with the evils and injustices of the world we know."
Now, that right there is from More Fun Comics #73.
The first ever appearance of Aquaman back in 1941,
just three years after the debut of Superman.
Now, as you see,
Arthur Curry in the comics has a bit of a different look
than our cinematic version.
Over the course of 75 years,
Aquaman has evolved from underrated and underestimated
to one of the most beloved superheroes in the DC canon.
And now, with Jason Momoa's badass version in Justice League,
there's no doubt about it.
Aquaman commands
respect.
I'm Aquaman.
I was pretty excited, it's a bit of a dream come true.
I've been a big surfer, I never walked down a 60-foot pier
with 12 water cannons going off.
It's funny 'cause the water would knock me everywhere,
which you don't actually see, I tried to hold it together,
but it was amazing.
I felt like a rock star.
Jason, he embodies everything that
Zack wanted to tell with that character.
Sort of this anti-establishment, rock and roll attitude.
MOMOA: He's pretty much the outsider and the lone wolf.
When Zack picked me for the role, he told me
he was someone who, not really accepted on land,
not really accepted in the sea.
It was something I could identify with
being raised in Iowa and born in Hawaii,
two very different cultures, you're kind of a fish out of water,
you're a bit of an outcast, you're a little different.
He's definitely flawed and I enjoy playing flawed characters.
JOHNS: He's kind of a big target
when people are making fun of superheroes.
And when I wrote the comic book in 2011,
I wanted to tackle that head-on,
because people question whatAquaman does,
what's he bring to the party?
On land, he's a bit of a joke sometimes.
In the water, he's the king,
and I thought that contrast was very cool for a superhero.
Even though it's not in the movie,
I spent a lot of time thinking about scenarios
where he lived with his father,
and his dad, he guarded the lighthouse, and he was definitely a blue-collar...
But he's exceptional in certain ways.
He obviously has the power, he can help people.
It's his human side, you know. I think that's what makes him special
because he can tie the two worlds together.
It's a big concern for me when we see Justice League,
'cause people are gonna be like, "He's drinking, he's this,
"he's rough, he's an asshole, he's this outcast."
But I'm like, "You don't know what he's been through."
And that's what I want them to know,
is like, "What got this guy to go to the far reaches of the Earth,
"to stay away from everyone, to be the way he is,
"what got him there?"
You got no powers. No offense.
This guy might be working for the enemy, we don't know.
I don't wanna die. I'm young.
He's a little rough around the edges and then he becomes the good guy.
He'll always help fight with the team, but then he's just on his own.
So he's the reluctant hero.
And that's fun to play.
Ride ain't over yet.

Now, that's from the 1956 introduction of The Flash,

Along with the debut of Barry Allen's heroics,
the Showcase series kickstarted the Silver Age of Comics.
And for decades, DC writers and artists have had tons of fun
exploring everything this fascinating character has to offer.
And not only is he the fastest man alive,
his unique superpowers have launched story lines
dealing with time travel,
alternate dimensions,
and even something called "quantum tunneling,"
and this means The Flash can even walk through walls.
Ezra Miller's depiction of The Flash remains true to who Barry Allen is.
Good-natured, upbeat, with a brain that moves a mile a minute.
(EXCLAIMS)
It's someone who can run into our ideas
about physics, about how the world works.
It's a character very much inspired by physics,
and by the works of Nikola Tesla.
That's made The Flash such an interesting character
for all of its history.
He's a scientist who studies these ideas,
he steps beyond our usual parameters of perception.
Barry Allen, for me, he always felt like he was us
because he was a normal guy who was trying to do his best,
and a little awkward and he got hit by a bolt of lightning by accident
and developed these powers
and is trying to do the best he can with them.
MILLER: So for him, he's trying to use it for good.
He has a really good heart.
In a certain way, it's almost like he has humility
which is sort of rare on a superhero.
Geoff Johns and I talked about this one issue of The Flash.
He saves a group of people as a building is falling.
But then they're all standing out on the street and they're like,
"We don't have anywhere to live."
And he's like, "One second."
And he builds their home back.
You know what I mean, 'cause he can study architecture really quick.
That moment is so representative of the type of hero that he is.
You know, this altruistic figure and someone who has an open heart.
I've been interested in, to inform the physicality
of this person who's moving in a way that we don't understand.
How does he get going?
Or when he's slowing down his molecules, what does that mean for his breath?
And then how does he stop?
Maybe when he's coming to a stop, it's like a...
And when he's in motion,
and we kind of come into his perception, Flash time,
it's fascinating the idea that,
like, your mind quickens,
which means, your perception slows to meet the speed at which you're going.
The time that no one would ever see, like, what does that look like?
This massive current running through him.
It's the funnest thing in the world.
<i>It's just, I mean, I'm talking about it like it's serious</i>
and I'm a crazy person.
And they say, "Yes, you can pretend to be a superhero."
Wait, why am...
I'm blowing my cover right now.
Ah, this is a terrible idea.
That's rude.
FISHER: Well, that's it. The League is united.
Each of these three new characters plays an integral role on the team,
and with over 180 combined years of comic issues and story lines,
it's clear that there are infinite possibilities,
where Cyborg, Aquaman, The Flash, and the entire Justice League can go.
I can't wait.

is distance learning opportunity
There are many lessons that Jamaica could learn from Malta
Malta is the guru, I suppose
of small islands studies
I'm interested in the tourism aspect
I see myself in the future of policy making
For someone who is aspiring to become an executive,
to become a leader
it provides me with the avenue, the tool that I need
It's very interesting from different backgrounds and specialisms
It's a great opportunity to be studying in this place
There's the issue of climate change
and what the country intends to do about climate change
I'll be doing something that I really like to do as well
That's why I love this, and that's why I chose the course.

Update Man charged with murder after mowing down family, ki11ing pregnant mom in Rockland County, N.
An enraged driver ran over eight people — twice — outside a 7 Eleven store in Rockland County, killing a pregnant woman and injuring her husband and 2 year old child, according to reports.
The road rage erupted after the victims husband asked Jason Mendez, 35, to stop smoking outside the Garnerville store near the small hamlet of Haverstraw just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, a . Instead, the furious smoker got into his car and mowed down his helpless victims, then backed the vehicle over them, Haverstraw police said in a statement.
When police raced to the scene, Mendez brandished a knife and failed to comply with the responding officers verbal commands to drop the weapon, Haverstraw police said in a statement. The cops then tased, subdued and took the crazed driver into custody.
Joe Crothers, 62, who works next door to the 7 Eleven at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, told the Daily News he saw the family walking into the store, adding that the dad went inside to use the ATM while his wife and kids waited outside.
Beautiful children, Crothers said.
Crothers said he left the 7 Eleven before the stunning violence erupted in the parking area out front.
I was no sooner back in the funeral home when the sirens started, he said.

Mendez, of Washingtonville, Orange County, was charged with murder and attempted murder, authorities said, and was awaiting arraignment.
The 32 year old pregnant mom died at the hospital and was not immediately identified.
Authorities said her 35 year old husband and 2 year old toddler were both taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. Five other children in the tragedy, ranging from less than a year old to 10, were taken to Montefiore Nyack hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries, reports say.
The eight members of the family were all transported to a local hospital. Tragically, the 32 year old female victim succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, Haverstraw police said in a statement.
A horrifying video shows a mangled baby carriage near the suspects white sedan.
In the moments after the horrific carnage,Captain Martin Rund of the Haverstraw Police Department addressed reporters at the scene.
They were taken to the hospital. We dont know the extent of the injuries but you can see the damage to the front of the store. Some of the injuries could be extensive, he said.
She was laying on the ground. [Baby] carriage was there, Allison Rodriguez told ABC 7 about the chilling aftermath.
"We just saw the car parked there," said Rodriguez, who arrived after the incident. "My understanding is he got out of the car. I guess there was something with the police, and they tased him."
A man who works next door to the 7 Eleven at Benis Italian restaurant told the Daily News the police stayed at the scene all afternoon.
Calls to police seeking further details were not immediately returned.

Left Handed Knitting in the Round - Duration: 8:04.
Hi Knitters!
It's Nancy from NobleKnits and today we are going to learn how to knit in the round for
left handed knitters.
So lets get started.
You'll need a skein of yarn, a stitch marker, and the required needle length.
I'm using a sixteen inch 5 and a half millimeter needle which I think is a size 9.
That's about what you would need for a hat, but in this case we're just learning how to
knit in the round.
I'm going to start with a long tail cast on.
I usually grab a length that's three to four times the length of the completed circumference.
If the hat is 20 inches long, I usually start with a tail that is 60 to 80 inches long to
get started.
We start by making a slip knot.
Then you're just going to put that on the needle and that's going to go on the needle.
The needle on your left hand, because you are going to be working on to this needle.
So the stitches will pile on going this way and when we're ready to start knitting in
the round, we'll start on this stitch over here and we'll knit from right to left instead
of from left to right the way a right handed person would knit.
So your long tail is going to be in the front and your skein of yarn will be in the back.
You're going to insert your thumb and finger in-between the two strands of yarn.
Grab the yarn and then lean your hand back.
You're going to go under the thumb, over the finger and back like that.
I'm going to cast on probably 80 stitches.
Okay this is what 30 stitches looks like we'll need to get all the way around.
Okay now I have 80 stitches on my needle and I have a little bit of a tail left.
So I'm just going to grab a pair of scissors and clip that because I don't want to accidentally
pick up this long tail and start knitting with that.
I can tell you out of experience I've done that way too many times.
So I just cut the excess.
A pattern will usually tell you to join in the round being careful not to twist the stitches.
So that's really important.
See how you have all the loops and then you have kind of this backbone here to all of
your stitches?
It's really important to make sure they are all facing the same direction.
If you happen to get a twist in your stitches like this, what will happen is you're going
to create a moebius type cast on and its going to put a big loop in your entire project,
so you don't want that.
So make sure they are all facing down all of that backbone is facing down and there's
no twist whatsoever in your cast on.
Okay so that looks good.
Now, it's important to - so here's where we cast on now this is our first stitch - that
first stitch we cast on is the first stitch that we knit.
You're just going to kind of ease your stitches around and before you make the first stitch,
you're going to place a marker so that you know that is the beginning of your round.
Now you're just going to start knitting.
Those first few stitches are always a little bit of a struggle, but once you get past them,
you'll be sailing.
I never love the first round after a cast on, it's always a little bit of a fight.
But now you've created this join and you are knitting in the round.
So I'm going to get all the way around and show you what it looks like when you finish
a round and you move to the next round.
Also, when you're knitting in the round, you are always on the front of your work.
The knit stitch is always what shows on this side.
When you turn it and look at the reverse, it's always going to be the purl side.
You don't have to knit one row purl one row to create stockinette stitch.
When you are knitting in the round and you are just knitting, it's always creating stockinette
stitch for you.
If you wanted to create garter stitch, you would have to do the reverse.
You would have to knit one row purl one row to create that same effect.
It took me a long time to wrap my head around that concept but once you understand what
the stitches are doing and that you are talking about the front and the back of the work it
makes a big difference.
So I'm about halfway through this round.
As you can see I'm knitting Continental style, I included how to do that in my last video.
I just hold the working yarn in my right hand and I allow the left hand needle to do all
of the work.
I kind of pick the yarn through rather than making the large loop.
Instead of doing this, it's a lot more movement.
Okay so we are wrapping up here.
Here's the last stitch.
What you'll notice is there's usually a little gap here between the first and last (stitches).
You want to make sure that strand doesn't get twisted.
It stays right there at the bottom.
You don't want it to get jumbled up.
It will go away.
So you will just move the stitch marker from one needle to the other and then continue
knitting.
As you knit that little strand will go away.
Then you have enough yarn here to weave in the yarn end when you are done.
That is how you knit in the round left handed.

We had to explain to the country where we had spent a lot of the resources and to calm people, because we had already announced that we were going to decrease defence spending.
We are decreasing it now, and many people are worried that it may result in decreasing our defence capability.
