A Former NFL Player Explains How Money and Fame Intensify People's Vices | Black Love | OWN - Duration: 1:55.

I was so shallow and so insecure that I fit in with the crowd.

Instead of being a leader, like I've always been,

I fell in line.

And I used my success, my fame as an excuse

to be able to do some of the things

that I shouldn't have done.

Football players, we live--

or professional athletes, people, famous--

you live life at light speed.

You live on a whole different speed than everybody else.

I hate though that you're saying that right now.

And listen, I'm not-- I understand that.

I'm not trying to use that as an excuse.

But, you know, I had issues that I should

have addressed a long time ago.

You would have had those issues regardless

of what you did for a living. - Yes, that's true.

So it has nothing to do with what he did for a living.

That's true.

Whatever issues he had, he was going

to have them if he was a garbage man, a nurse,

a doctor, a lawyer, whatever.

No, when I say that--

And I've met people-- hold on-- from all walks of life

who have issues that he had.

So I just want to clarify that.

Because I think it's very unfair.

And I think people use it as an excuse.

What I meant and what I was trying to articulate

is that whatever you are, money and fame makes you more that.

- Now, I can agree with that. - If you are a gambler--

I can agree with that.

--you have the resource to be a better gambler.

Or if you're an adulterer, it makes you more of a adulterer.

If you're a drug addict, it makes you a bigger

drug addict, whatever it is.

What I'm saying is the issues I had from my childhood

is what I never saw a proper marriage.

I never saw faithfulness, me being born from an affair.

So what happened was when I became a professional,

I thought that gave me the license

to be more what I already was.

The List of Rules a Wife Gave Her Unfaithful Husband to Fix Their Marriage | Black Love | OWN - Duration: 2:17.

- At that point in my mind, honestly, I was on my way out.

Mentally I was on my way out.

I said I'll do it because I'm going to be a good student,

and I'll do it.

Something new.

But I really didn't think it was going to help.

I wrote them down, typed it out.

He still carries it to this day.

And I said, if you cannot do this,

I'll be making plans to leave.

The first thing I said was, love me.

Put your marriage first, right after your relationship

with the Lord.

Make your marriage, your number one ministry.

And I had gave scripture for each one.

I won't read through those.

No more hanging out with people that don't bring glory--

strip clubs, people like that.

No more affairs, sexual, or emotional, or otherwise.

No strip parties.

No drug use.

No more things that jeopardize my future.

Daily conversation with the male mentor and our mentor

couple every day.

Weekly accountability meetings-- we

had to do our couple counseling, as well as be at their Tuesday

mentor Bible study.

And discuss with me your weekly progress.

Finish the book "Every Man's Battle"

and pray with me five days a week.

That was basically it.

So the blinders were off at that point.

And I just wasn't going to put up with it any more.

I was-- you know, this is my second marriage.

I didn't want to have a third marriage.

I remember our mentor saying, do you want to stay married,

or do you just not want another divorce?

And I really--

I said, I'm going to think about that

and get back to you because at that point,

I really didn't know.

I did exactly what the list says to do, you know,

until it actually became who I am.

And I keep it there as a reminder.

And whenever I have an issue, I go through it and I back up.

Sometimes, you know, it's good to back up so you don't

forget where you came from.

'Annihilation' and Its Influences - Duration: 4:03.

For the last three months I've been trying to get to the bottom of what Alex Garland's 'Annihilation' is really about.

People who hate, say they don't understand it. People who love it can't really explain why they do.

So I'm going to give it a go.

But be warned: if you haven't seen 'Annihilation' there are major spoilers ahead.

Now the way I process a film is trying to understand what other works or images might have inspired its creator.

The goal, of course, is to get closer to understanding what 'Annihilation' is really showing or telling us.

First, let's look at 'The Thing.'

Now the creatures 'The Thing' are unique because they have the ability to take the form of their victims.

The creatures become a physical mashup of monster and man

a sort of Jekyll and Hyde twisted into one entity.

In 'Annihilation,' the creatures take that mashup cue from 'The Thing'

but instead of taking the physical form of a person, these creatures seem to take the soul of the person.

Consider the scene in 'Annihilation' where our protagonists think they hear the voice of their deceased friend Cass.

Much to their horror, they realize the creature has captured and suppressed the final emotions of Cass into its body.

And those final emotions are the blood curdling screams before Cass' death.

This is the first real clue in understanding 'Annihilation.'

The creature represents the character's hidden and repressed emotions.

That eternalization of something darker buried within.

Let's move onto 'Enter the Void.'

In 'Enter the Void,' we see a lot of hallucinations and trippy visuals of the infinite beyond.

Conceptually, 'Annihilation' shares the same kind of style when staring into the void.

And when I consider the repressed emotions displayed in the creature

and the idea of giving into the depths of one's unconscious

I think that 'Annihilation' is the cinematic depiction of Carl Jung's "The Shadow."

Carl Jung was fascinated with the idea that everyone has a dark side.

An unconscious place where we suppress our fears and anxieties and also our self destructiveness.

That pretty much explains why thee characters in 'Annihilation' are on a suicide mission.

They each want to self destruct and embrace that suppressed feeling.

That unknown darkness inside of them

What cemented this interpretation for me was the alien at the ending.

A literal shadow of one's self.

We've seen this alien dark figure before in another science fiction drama: 'Under the Skin.'

However, in 'Under the Skin,' it was the dark self that was trying to become part of the world.

Hiding in the form of a desirable person.

'Annihilation' takes a more Jungian approach.

It shows how we must come face to face with our dark self, with our demons.

It's like Carl Jung said, "everyone carries a shadow and less it is embodied in the individual's conscious life, the blacker and denser it is."

And what's provocative about the end of 'Annihilation' is that it champions the shadow, when you let the shadow take over and embrace your dark demons.

That's the only way a real redemption can be made.

Who Are The Adorable Boy Grinning Who Stole Attention At The Royal Wedding - Duration: 2:33.

The page boy, 7-year-old Brian Mulroney, is the son of Markle's close friends Jessica

and Ben Mulroney.

During the wedding, Brian was responsible for holding part of Markle's veil as she walked

down the aisle.

Viewers watching the livestream of the ceremony noticed that Brian's face lit up with an enormous

smile when he entered St. George's Chapel.

An image of his grin went viral on Twitter.

Mostly, people seemed to relate to his pure excitement.

Ben and Jessica's other children — Brian's twin brother John and 4-year-old sister Ivy

— were also a page boy and bridesmaid in the royal wedding party.

Ben told Your Morning that all three found the experience "joyful," despite the pressure

to perform their duties in front of such a massive audience.

When Meghan Markle walked down the aisle of St. George's Chapel, she had some help in

the form of two adorable little boys.

The smiling helpers were Brian and John Mulroney, the 7-year-old twin sons of Meghan's best

friend, Jessica Mulroney.

After arriving in the Rolls Royce with Meghan, the boys exited the car ahead of her.

The boys, whose grandfather is the former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, carried

Meghan's lengthy veil (which extended long past her train) side-by-side, leading the

rest of Meghan and Prince Harry's wedding party down the aisle.

One of the twins showed off a wide gap-toothed smile as he walked down the aisle.

Brian and John carried Meghan's veil down the entire aisle, the first half of which

she walked down solo before meeting up with her new father-in-law, Prince Charles, and

finishing the walk.

The two boys were the oldest members of Meghan and Harry's wedding party, which also included

Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as Brian and John's little sister, Ivy Mulroney.

Other members of the wedding party included Florence van Cutsem and Zalie Warren, Harry's

goddaughters, Remi and Rylan Litt, Meghan's goddaughters, Jasper Dyer, the son of Harry's

friend Mark Dyer.

Meghan did not have a maid of honor for her big day — though Brian, John and Ivy's

mom, Jessica, was sitting right at the front of St. George's Chapel, watching Harry and

Meghan say their vows.

How to Start a Bible Study Journal! (Bible Note Taking) - Duration: 9:39.

Hey everyone

I'm Lisa and today I have a highly requested

video and that is all about my Bible journal a little while back my husband and I did a video on

Tips and essentials for Bible study if you guys want to check that out

I'll have it linked in the card above and in the description below but in that video one of my essentials was

Bible journaling, basically, I just have a little notebook

You can take any notebook you want and I have a little formula

I've come up with for how I take notes and what I've really found is that this helps me to actually

Remember what I read that day?

It helps me to

Pick out the points that really stick out to me that I feel like God is trying to speak to me

It also helps me to find the life application in what I'm studying

Which is really what?

We should all be trying to get at when we're studying the Word of God is how does this apply to my life and how?

Is this gonna change me to be more like Jesus?

I keep my little journal really simple and concise that way it's easy to do everyday if it's something that you would like to do

every day

Personally, I don't do this every single day but on the days that I do again

I am able to recall what I read and what I studied that day and

What I felt like God was trying to speak to me, which I think is just such an awesome tool

I know sometimes it's easy when we're reading the word to get a little bit

Distracted and off focus and then you can kind of come away reading it be like wait

What did I even just read like should I read it again?

What was the point of that so this can help with that before?

I show you how I do my Bible journal

Make sure to hit that subscribe button below if you haven't already

Subscribed to our channel my husband and I post all different kinds of videos like this faith related content

Okay, so onto my Bible journal again, I recommend a thin journal, but you can really use whatever

Journal you want I just like the smaller ones because they're easy bring to church with me as well

To carry along with my Bible. Another thing you could use is for example

I actually have a journaling Bible where I can take notes on the sides if you have one of these

You could do this same format of journaling on the side of your Bible. If you guys are curious about what Bible this is

I'll have it linked below my favorite Bible ever by the way

So all I do for my Bible journal is first, I write the date at the top just so I know

when I read that scripture and what this journal was from and then I put

Reading and I say what scripture I am reading what passage I'm reading for example on this one

this was April 2nd and

I read mark 1 so mark chapter 1 so I put that right there and then next I have a summary

so this is just like a one to

Two-sentence summary of that whole scripture that you read and really try to make it concise

It does not need to be detailed. It's literally just like okay if I can sum up this whole passage

I read if you're doing a paragraph it's a little bit easier but on a whole chapter, it can be a little bit tough

But if I had to sum up this whole chapter or however much you read

How could I do that in two to three sentences?

And that's what's really gonna help you. Remember the overall summary and purpose of what you were reading

So for example on this one I said John the Baptist is the fulfillment of prophecy and baptizes Jesus

Jesus is tempted in the wilderness and then begins his ministry of casting out demons preaching and healing

Kept it really short and concise even though a lot happens in Mark chapter one

Next I put a verse that stands out to me. This could just be like a verse that

That I really felt like God was pressing on my heart. It could be a verse that feels convicting

Just a verse that I would like to memorize and this particular verse. I actually highlighted I'll use my

One of my little Bible highlighters. I got this set from The Daily Grace company. I'm gonna fill it with them

So if you guys want to check them out, I have a link below

They have like a bunch of really cute Bible study tools and everything. So check that out

But when I highlight a verse it means that it's something that I actually want to try to memorize

So this particular one I did and it was mark

135 it says in

Rising very and rising very early in the morning while it was still dark

He departed and went out to a desolate place and there he prayed

that's talking about Jesus and that verse doesn't really stood out to me because

He Jesus rises up early in the morning before the sun's even up and he goes out in praise and has

just this time of

Communion with the father and that's just what my desire is and I want to try to get better at is

You know waking up early in the morning

Maybe for everybody it's not early in the morning when you do your study time

But just having a daily quiet time with the Lord

For me that is best in the morning. That's what I prefer to do

but just having that time to go be with the Lord and pray and being his word and it's really

It's not just about reading the word and being done for the day like that. It's a checkoff

It's about actually spending that time with God and and just being with him

Okay, and then the next section I do is the takeaway. So this is the part

Where you're gonna write kind of your life application part or just what you feel like God was really telling you to take

From that scripture. So on this particular one

I said Jesus woke up early to find a quiet place alone to pray and spend time with his father

How much more do we need to do this if our Savior and Lord did this and then I wrote like a little like 1

2 3 point on how I can

like act out this scripture

So I said number 1 early while while it was still early and dark a quiet place before the chaos

and the distractions of the day

Number 2 a desolate place alone and shut off again that kind of goes with the first one

But just a quiet place you're not being distracted

number three pray spend time with God

so those that's what I took away from that little

passage and the very last thing I do in my journal is a prayer and this is a very specific prayer about

What you read in applying?

Your takeaway to your life. So you're actually like asking God to help you apply that to your life

So for example this prayer said Lord, would you help me to live out these principles?

Give me the strength and wisdom to always prioritize these

Help me to make time for you to just talk with you and be with you. Amen

So it was just a really really short prayer again. That is how I do my Bible journal again

It's very short

concise easy

It just helps you to remember what you were reading your word help you to take something away and help you to pray that

what you're gonna take away so that you can actually

Do that in you know?

Your life can change a little bit each and every day for those of you that do better with like an actual visual

And like having this already written out for you. I did create a printable

So I'm going to have that linked below on Etsy. It only costs two dollars. I wanted to make it very

inexpensive

So all you do is you purchase it

You have the printable downloaded to your computer

and you can print it out whenever you want as much as you need and

You can put these little printouts in a binder to collect them all if you want or just have the one

As an outline for doing in your own journal

So again that will be linked below for any of you that are interested in that but I hope you all found this video

helpful

if you did

Please give it a thumbs up and let me know in the comments below if you are currently

Keeping a Bible journal and if you do what kinds of things do you like to journal about? Is it just kind of freehand everyday?

Or do you have a structure for what you do?

And if you're new to Bible journaling tell me what you think. If you're gonna try this out and how it works for you

I just want to be able to hear your guys's feedback and talk with you in the comments

But I love you O so much and I'll you in our next video

I accidentally threw away $60M worth of Bitcoin - Duration: 9:16.

I accidentally threw away $60M worth of Bitcoin

After Matthew Mellon, scion of the Mellon banking fortune, died on April 16 of a drug-related heart attack in Mexico, his family was unable to locate the pass code needed to retrieve his fortune — said to have been worth as much as $1 billion — in XRP cryptocurrency, according to the Daily Mail.

Losing passwords is the kind of nightmare that haunts bitcoin investors.

In fact, there are an estimated 3 million bitcoins — totaling nearly $25 billion — lost because the retrieval codes have gone missing or the currency owners died without passing the codes onto their next of kin.

Just ask James Howells — who lost a hard drive with the key to more than $60 million in bitcoin.

"I mined more than 7,500 coins over one week's time in 2009; there were just six of us doing it at the time, and it was like the early days of a gold rush," said the IT worker turned crypto investor, 32, who lives in Newport, Wales.

"Four years later, I had two hard drives in a desk drawer. One was empty and the other contained my bitcoin private keys," Howells recalled.

"I meant to throw away the empty drive — and I accidentally threw away the one with the bitcoin information.".

In 2008, bitcoin's alleged creator Satoshi Nakamoto published an open-source code through which bitcoins are "mined" by solving complex calculations, embedded throughout the Internet, via extremely powerful computers. There is a finite number of 21 million bitcoins.

Part of cryptocurrency's appeal is that it's anonymous, untraceable and can only be retrieved by the person with the private key. Randomly generated by the Bitcoin algorithm, these can be more than 50 characters long — not exactly something you can memorize.

"People put them on laptops, storage drives, USBs," said Brian Stoeckert, a legal consultant in the crypto field. "Lose one of them without having it backed up, and you are out of luck.".

Howells didn't realize the value of his coins for a few weeks after he lost them. "I looked up the price, did the calculation . . .

[My investment is] worth around $2 [million] or $3 million.' A few months later it was worth $9.9 million. I was annoyed, pissed off, sick.

I spoke to the people at the landfill and told them that I threw away a hard drive worth $10 million. They looked at me stupidly.".

His story echoes a plotline in the recently wrapped season of the HBO show "Silicon Valley," where blowhard venture capitalist Russ Hanneman, played by Chris Diamantopoulos, is seen leading a crew of hired trash pickers at the local dump, on a mission to turn up a mistakenly discarded thumb drive that contained the code needed to retrieve his $300 million in bitcoin.

"We heard a lot of stories about people having incredibly long numbers [as their pass codes, known as private keys] and losing them," series creator Mike Judge told The Post.

"There's definitely a part of the tech culture, Silicon Valley in particular, where people take pride in failure. But I don't think losing a hard drive with your Bitcoin code on it falls into that category.

I think it happens more than people want to admit.".

Atlanta-based software developer Syl Turner, 33, can relate. After mining two bitcoins in 2010, he didn't give much thought to the cryptocurrency and ended up moving the computer to his attic when he bought a new one.

Then, "last November, [the value of a bitcoin] hit $10,000. Everybody was talking about bitcoin, and it seemed like I should go into the attic to find the computer," he said.

He found what he was looking for but had inadvertently written over the hard drive — erasing his private key. "I'm pretty sure I wrote over it because bitcoin had no real monetary value at the time I did it," Turner said.

So why don't more people keep better track of their magic numbers? "It's problematic in that if you have your code written down in too many places, people can find it and take your money," said Judge.

"But if it's in too few places, you may not be able to find it yourself.". Which can become a nightmare when investors pass away without having shared their private keys with their heirs.

According to Michael Yang, who runs a cryptocurrency exchange in the Bay Area, "One of my friends had half of a bitcoin private key in his hand and half in his [business] partner's hand.

Then the partner passed away." Now, the living friend cannot access the funds.

"It's a tragedy," Yang added. "They had at least 500 bitcoins" — worth around $4 million. (A source close to Mellon's family, meanwhile, denied they were unable to locate his money.).

Some believe that bitcoin's mysterious creator, Nakamoto, may have lost his private key. (Another theory is that he committed suicide and failed to leave the pass code behind.).

"None of the [1 million] coins he mined have moved," said Kim Grauer, senior economist with Chainalysis, a Manhattan-based digital forensics firm. "It's odd that they have not been cashed out.".

If an investor remembers at least a portion of a pass code, a talented hacker could potentially use software to decrypt it.

For someone like Howells, however, who has no clues to go on, "hacking it would take a couple billion years and require all the energy of the sun.".

Instead, he's offered the town of Newport 10 percent of the bitcoins' value if they'll let him excavate the landfill. So far, they've denied his requests.

For the time being, Howells views the dump as the ultimate safe. "Nobody else can get in there and take my hard drive," he said. "It's like having $75 million in the bank, but you cannot get into the bank account.".

Turner, however, has learned his lesson and is done. "I have no crypto now and have little desire to get more," he said. "Some [aspects] of it are fascinating. But it also seems like a cult.".

We do vlogs lifestyle videos a lot of different stuff

So be sure to hit that subscribe button so you can see our other videos that we post and if you'd like to stay

Updated with me throughout the week. Be sure to follow me on instagram at Lisa M Riggs

Is in a stream

The ocean call for you

Lecture: Mabon - Duration: 6:01.

Merry Meet!

In this lecture we will be discussing the celebration of Mabon (also pronounced May

– Bone, My- Bone, or Mayvon.

This celebration falls during the Autumn Equinox.

In the Northern Hemisphere this is September 19-22 and in the Southern Hemisphere this

is March 19 and March 22.

This is the celebration of the final harvest.

It is also seen as the Witch's Thanksgiving.

Now, before I go further I need to point out a couple of things.

The biggest thing is, Mabon was not celebrated by Pagans.... in fact, Mabon is a purely Wiccan

holiday.

In 1970 Adian Kelly came up with the name for this celebration mainly because the current

wheel of the year felt imbalanced.

And there is sort of a reason why it was imbalanced.

As I stated, Mabon is the Autumn Equinox and seen as the final Harvest celebration, and

this is key as to why it was not celebrated by Pagan people.

A we know, Pagans lived off the land and were mainly farmers.

As the Autumn Equinox approached they were not celebrating, they were working!

They were harvesting crops and preparing for the first frost and working on storing the

food and making sure things lasted through the Winter months.

So this is not a time for party and rejoicing, but a time for hard work.

Now with the invention of grocery stores and refrigeration we no longer have the same focus

and so we celebrate the idea of the harvest.

So, with the Autumn Equinox, we are at the beginning of the Fall months, so we look at

the correspondences that fall under this time of the year and we see the colors are the

deeper oranges and golds and reds and browns, which are the color of the leaves at this

time of year.

The foods that are focused on are the late harvest foods like grains, squash (such as

pumpkins) and apples.

We also tend to get into the more flavorful spices that help warm like ginger and cinnamon.

The air is cooling at this time so we tend to look towards the little things that help

warm us up.

The name Mabon, it is theorized, comes from the Welsh myth of Mabon ap Modron, who was

son of Modron or "Great Mother", which makes him "Great Son".

He is an important part of the Arthurian legends.

He was a bard who sung the achievements of Arthur.

Why Kelly chose to name this celebration for Him, I am not completely sure, other than

his mother being seen as a harvest and fertility deity, most of the stories of Mabon seem to

focus mostly on the Arthurian legend and the fact that he was stolen from his mother at

three days old.

Now, I would also like to point out the similarities here with the idea of the Madonna and Child

in Christian mythology.

We can see the connection to the idea of Mary as Great Mother and Jesus as Great Child and

here we also have a son, though many years later, being taken from his mother and rising

3 days later.

So we can see some similarities with these different mythologies, we also see here another

myth with Demeter and Persephone and we know that when Persephone begins her descent back

into the Underworld is here at this time of the Autumn Equinox.

So we do see these combinations of Mother and Child stories here at this time.

Though we look at this time as one of hard work and a time of things coming to an end,

the light getting dimmer, at this point in our journey it is now seen as a time of giving

thanks to what we have accomplished.

Many Wiccans and Pagans now come to see this time as a sort of Witchy Thanksgiving, which

is an appropriate way of looking at it.

Since most of us are not farmers and focusing on our final harvest, we should look at the

things we have accomplished over the year.

Keep in mind, in most traditions, we look at Samhain as the new year, so Mabon is seen

as the end of the year.

So we should look at everything we have done and celebrate that we made it through one

more year.

So now you know a little more about this holiday and hopefully it helps you in celebrating

it!

Thank you for listening!

Merry Part.
