Youtube daily report Feb 5 2017

SEATTLE'S CITY COUNCIL HAS DECIDED TO PULL A WHOPPING

$3 BILLION OF FUNDING FROM WELLS FARGO OVER WELLS FARGO'S

INVOLVEMENT WITH DAPPLE.

THIS IS INTERESTING AND IT SHOWS YOU WHAT HAPPENS IN SOME

LIBERAL PARTS OF TOWN STUB THE SEATTLE TIMES REPORTED THAT

THE CITY'S AFFORDABLE HOUSING, NEIGHBORHOODS AND FINANCE

COMMITTEE VOTED WEDNESDAY TO PULL THROUGH BILLION

DOLLARS IN CITY FUNDS FROM WELLS FARGO BANKS, ONE OF THE

COMPANIES SUBSIDIZING THE PIPELINES CONSTRUCTION.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THE STORY CLOSELY

SINCE THE BEGINNING, YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON BUT LET ME

FILL YOU AND IF YOU HAVEN'T.

THE DAKOTA ACCESS PIPELINE IS A HEAVILY CONTESTED PIPELINE

THAT WOULD BE BUILT IN NATIVE AMERICAN AREAS AND NATIVE

AMERICANS HAVE BEEN PROTESTING IT BECAUSE IT COULD

POTENTIALLY ADD TOXIC SUBSTANCES TO THEIR DRINKING WATER AND

THEY ARE ALSO WORRIED ABOUT SACRED BURIAL GROUNDS BEING

DISRUPTED IN THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THE PIPELINE.

IN DECEMBER, THE PROTESTERS WON A VICTORY WHEN THE OBAMA

ADMINISTRATION DECIDED TO HOLD CONSTRUCTION.

AN ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY AND IS IN STATEMENT COULD BE DONE IN

ORDER TO PROVE THAT THIS CONSTRUCTION WOULDN'T

ACTUALLY CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO THE ENVIRONMENT.

HOWEVER, TRUMP HAS A VESTED INTEREST TO CONTINUE THE

CONSTRUCTION SO AS SOON AS HE WAS INAUGURATED, HE MADE

CLEAR THAT HE WOULD ALLOW CONSTRUCTION TO CONTINUE.

CONSTRUCTION WILL CONTINUE UNFORTUNATELY.

THE SEATTLE CITY COUNCIL IS LIKE WELL, WHEN WE PROCESS THIS

WITH THE POWER OF MONEY AND ACTUALLY PULL $3

BILLION OUT OF WELLS FARGO.

IN A STATEMENT, WELLS FARGO'S REPORTEDLY STRESS THAT IS

CONTRACTUALLY BOUND TO FULFILLED LEGAL OBLIGATIONS TO ITS

CUSTOMER, HIGHLIGHTING BOTH A SMALL FRACTION OF DAPPLE'S TOTAL

FUNDING IT CONTRIBUTED AND THE BANKS ENVIRONMENTAL

CONTRIBUTIONS.

WELLS FARGO INSISTED ON ITS COMMITMENT

TO ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS.

WELLS FARGO IS LIKE HEY, WE'RE JUST DOING OUR JOBS, MAN.

DON'T PUNISH US.

BUT WELLS FARGO HAS BEEN CAUGHT UP IN A LOT OF CITY TRAUMA

AS A LATE.

WELLS FARGO IS OBVIOUSLY A HUGE BANK SILLY CAVEMAN,

YOU ARE GOING TO PULL, SEATTLE'S CITY IS GOING TO PULL OUT

OF WHAT WE PROVIDE?

IT IS NOT HER FALL, WE ARE HUGE CORPORATION.

WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ABOUT A?

WE ONLY PROVIDE 5% BUT BEFORE THEY GOT INTO THOSE PARTS,

THEY PLAYED BOTH SIDES OF IT SO MUCH.

WE GAVE 3.8 MILLION TO NONPROFITS, 248 MILLION TO

CONVENE THEM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ONCE AN INVESTMENT.

WE ONLY GIVE A LITTLE BIT TO THIS WHOLE DPL THING AND BY

THE WAY WE ALSO GIVE MONEY TO SOLAR AND WIND ENERGY

THINGS, WE GIVE A LOT OF THEM TUNE UP THERE INTO THE

WHOLE STATEMENT THAT WE HOPE THAT ALL PARTIES INVOLVED

WILL WORK TOGETHER TO GET A PEACEFUL RESOLUTION.

LIKE WE DO THIS AND THIS AND THIS AND THEREíS NOT MUCH YOU

CAN DO AT THAT POINT WHEN YOU'RE THAT LARGE OF A CORPORATION.

WE'RE INVOLVED IN IT AND THIS CAN YOU STILL LIKE US?

BUT I LIKE ABOUT THIS STORY IS HOW LOCAL GOVERNMENT WAS ABLE

TO MOBILIZE AND ORGANIZE AND MAKE CHANGE.

HOWEVER, IT IS KIND OF A DISTRACTION.

JEREMY'S A REALLY GOOD POINT BECAUSE THE CHANGE THAT

THEY MADE AS A DROP IN THE BUCKET FOR WELLS FARGO.

IT IS A POWERFUL STATEMENT TO OTHER LOCAL GOVERNMENTS

THAT YOU CAN AFFECT CHANGE, BUT REGARD TO DAPPLE, IT

DOESN'T DO MUCH UNFORTUNATELY BECAUSE WELLS FARGO IS ONE OF

17 FINANCIERS AND ALSO CONTRIBUTES THEY SAY LESS THAN

5% OF THE TOTAL FUNDS FOR DAPPLE.

IT IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG BUT IT IS A VERY

IMPORTANT ICEBERG TO START NOTICING AND TO START

REACTING TO GET PROACTIVE ABOUT.

THAT IS LIKE ABOUT THE STORY.

THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT WAS ABLE TO MAKE A CHANGE BUT WE NEED TO

SEE OTHER LOCAL GOVERNMENTS GET INSPIRED AND SAY ALL RIGHT, WE

CAN ORGANIZE THIS TOGETHER IN A PEACEFUL WAY AND MAKE OUR VOICES

HEARD BECAUSE ONE, CONSTITUENCY IS SMALL AND DOESN'T MAKE A HUGE

IMPACT BUT A BUNCH WELL AND THEN WELLS FARGO WILL LISTEN BECAUSE

RIGHT NOW, JR YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT THAT THIS OR TO PUT

OUT A PRESS RELEASE AND THERE LIKE YOU GOT US, AND THAT'S IT.

THEY'RE NOT REALLY GOING TO MAKE A CHANGE BECAUSE THIS DOESN'T

ACTUALLY ENFORCE HER PRESSURE THEM TO MAKE ANY CHANGES.

I THINK THIS IS THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG AND I THINK

THIS IS CHANGED THROUGH LEADERSHIP AND LEADERSHIP

IS IMPORTANT IN MOMENTS LIKE THIS.

WILL SEATTLE'S ACTIONS CAUSED A DOMINO EFFECT AND WILL WE SEE

OTHER LIBERAL METROPOLITAN AREAS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY TAKE

ACTION AND DECIDE TO DIVEST FROM INSTITUTIONS LIKE WELLS FARGO?

I HOPE.

THERE'S NO GUARANTEE THAT THAT WILL HAPPEN BUT REGARDLESS

OF THAT, I THINK SEATTLE WINS IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS BECAUSE

THEY ARE SHOWING THAT THEY ARE REPRESENTING THEIR CONSTITUENTS.

THE CONSISTED TO ITS WERE THE ONE TO CALL FOR THIS TO HAPPEN.

WE HAVE A VIDEO SHOWING THEM PROTESTING SEATTLE'S

INVESTMENT INTO WELLS FARGO.

I LOVE THAT THE LAWMAKERS THERE ON A VERY LOCAL LEVEL

DECIDED TO HEAR THEM AND LISTEN.

FOR ANYONE WHO IS AS DISILLUSIONED AND

DISCOURAGED BY FEDERAL LEVEL POLITICS AS I AM, GET

ACTIVE ON A LOCAL LEVEL BECAUSE THOSE REPRESENTATIVES

WHETHER IT IS THE CITY COUNCIL, SIMPLY MEMBERS OF STATE

LAWMAKERS, THOSE OF INDIVIDUALS ACTUALLY DO LISTEN TO YOU

WHEN THEY HEAR YOU OUT AND YOU HAVE MORE ACCESS TO THEM.

YOU CAN START WITH A GRASSROOTS EFFORT AND TRY TO GET THEM

TO HEAR YOUR CONCERNS AND TAKE REAL ACTION LIKE SEATTLE

DID RECENTLY.

I started to play CISGL, we had to share PC with my brother.

I bought CISGL, they banned me, they thought I was cheating but I continued to buy it.

Then I got invited to play on CISGL LAN, I played there, made two aces and I was invited to a team.

My first online tournament was SLTV Pro Series, we did good, but didn't advance into StarSeries.

Then I made a pause, playing 1.6 for a week, after that I was invited to play ESWC qualifiers in 2013, it was in Cyberzone.

Astana Dragons were there at the time, and Andrii Blad3 was playing in Kerch.net as well, we placed 3rd.

Next we played Major qualifiers, Andrii Gorodenskyi noticed me and with Courage Gaming

I started playing professionally in StarSeries and attending tournaments.

Everyone who wants to break through in eSports must play a lot,

they can practice grenades, watch pro players replays, practice their skills.

Right now it's beneficial to play FaceIT, because you can advance into pro league and play against pro players.

It's also good to play ESEA in US, you can also achieve rank S there.

Unfortunately there are no CIS gatherings like that anymore, maybe there are, but FaceIT is much more effective.

One day I was told that if I play well, the team will find me.

That was told regarding different game, some Half-Life probably, when I was young...

But anyway if you play a lot, you will get noticed for sure.

Now there are a lot of invites for different tournaments, there is Quickshot Arena, 4 teams fighting for 500$ prizepool.

It's easy to participate in different qualifiers if you find a team, they are online.

If there are Dreamhack Sweden or Las Vegas qualifiers for example,

you can participate in open qualifier and advance into closed qualifier.

The teams like Tengri advanced and won qualifiers,

attended tournaments and now Hobbit is playing in Gambit, so he succeeded.

I don't know where to find the team, you should advance into FPL first, like Oscar.

But you have to play well, know English and actually to make it there.

A lot of FPL players, like Oscar... Hellraisers invited him, Plessen was considered by Fnatic.

The most important is to advance in this league, there are Russian-speaking players,

as well as international, you can play against them and they will notice you.

My daily routine is... I wake up at different time, it can be 10, 12, 1 p.m., depends on the practice.

Then we practice, 2-4 p.m. we analyze our games, 4-9 p.m. we play and then we have free time after 10 p.m.

I play with friends or go out with my girlfriend.

I go to sleep at 2-3 a.m., sometimes I stream after practice, I go to sleep at 2-3 a.m., it's my routine during work days.

During weekends I play less CS, I wake up earlier to spend some time with family or girlfriend.

Sometimes I stream during weekends to keep myself in form.

The support of friends and family is always pleasant, it's always felt when you are at some tournament.

For example if we win or lose at some tournament, parents and girlfriend always support me.

When I played online, when I used to live with my parents after the games we always discussed them with my parents.

There are a lot of people who know me and watch my games:

all of my former classmates, my family, my girlfriend, brother, friends... it's always very nice.

The team captain must be calm, when you are calm you can make the right

decision in any situation, or call a timeout to discuss things with the coach.

The captain must always react to his plays, he must think about team play,

but there are a lot of captains who think about players' mistakes and don't concentrate on their own.

It's a huge problem.

The captain must always think about the right calls after trading kills.

For example, you are in a 3v3 situation, you got an entry frag at Long or B and you can plan something based on that.

And when there's 30 seconds left you need to quickly make a call and win a round for your team.

I play CS because I enjoy playing it.

I love all the emotions, beautiful rounds...

The one Coldzera pulled off against Liquid.

When he killed two with one jumping shot, that was awesome.

I also like when teams pull off a comeback, it's really interesting to watch.

I just love the game, I've never considered taking a break or tried to find time for my family or friends.

Well, I do try to find time, but my main priority is CS.

I love playing this game so much.

Well, if talking about young and inexperienced players, then 18-20 is fine.

For those who never played professionally before and never attended a LAN - 20 is the perfect age.

But there are still a lot of older and highly experienced players around.

Such as Vanya Edward, he has attended numerous tournaments since 2010, or even earlier; and experienced all the emotions.

He knows how to deal with a difficult situation, how to boost team's morale and cheer everyone up.

I realized that I'm a pro player at the age of 15, when I won Voronezh Cup in a team with Blade.

Then I joined Hellraisers and started attending international LANs, such as ESWC, DreamHack Major.

Probably after ESWC in France I realized that I'm a pro player.

I'll start with the game we lost.

The first memorable game for me was the semi-final of MLG Columbus against SK, the current best team of the world.

We were up 15-9 on both the first and the second map.

Which means if we'd won one more round on both maps we would've advanced to the Major finals.

However, we chocked and lost the game that was ours to win.

Probably because of the pressure.

As for the games I won, well, I've had a lot of memorable ones.

The first one was at ESL Cologne, when we beat Na`Vi in the quarter-final, we won the series after losing the first map.

And the second one is really special - the game against Fnatic.

We were up 10-5 after the first half on both maps, then they made a comeback to tie the game at 13-13,

we were forced to call a time-out and as a result won both maps 16-13.

I pulled off a double no-scope on Cache and got my own graffiti on this map for that, it was an amazing feeling.

Most of my spare time I spend with my girlfriend.

We go out for a walk, to the movies, parties.

I also like to spend my spare time with friends, they're really fun.

Last time we went to a party in the aquapark, it was awesome.

Also, my house is being renovated at the moment, so I'm looking for new furniture and a new desk to play CS:GO on.

It's important to be adequate, skilled and have the ability to listen to the coach and IGL.

If I could change something in CS:GO, I'd add de_tuscan and...

Remove some map.

I'd remove Cache.

Or wait, not Cache.

There's my graffiti on Cache, lol.

I'd remove...

No, it wouldn't be Cobble, we've been practicing it lately.

When I had 5000 viewers on Twitch.

Well, even 2000 is fine.

Once I had 15000, I was impressed when I saw the numbers.

I think eSports will do well if it keeps evolving at this pace.

As we can see the tournaments are already being held at some fancy stadiums.

This time it's the Golden State Warriors' arena in Oakland, before that hockey arenas.

If esports continues to grow as it is now, with prize pools getting bigger,

more teams and sponsors will enter the scene, and more people will be watching this wonderful game.

I wish everyone good health.

If Enough People Stomp At Once, Can It Cause An Earthquake? - Duration: 4:45.

I'm sure when you think "biggest television events" around, you think of the 1 billion

people who watched India vs Pakistan in the 2015 Cricket World Cup… right?

No.

No, I can't say that I do.

Oh.

Uh, the Moon Landing at 530 million, worldwide?

No, I think of the biggest television event everrrr, the BIG GAME!!!!!!!!!

A piddly 115 million!

Hey there sportsfaaaans, Trace and Emily here for DNews to talk about sportsball and science.

You probably know, today is Superb Owl. number El-Eye.

American Football's greatest event.

And with all those people in one place, you bet your deflated Brady-Ball there's a ton

of science going on.

Stadiums are one of the few times a large number of people gather to a controlled place,

so while most of them are focused on the field, we can use this rare mass gathering to do

some cool studies.

For example, on January 8, 2011, earthquake monitoring equipment registered something

strange in the Seattle area -- a tiny earthquake.

(Seriously, really tiny).

According to researchers at the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, eight Seattle Seahawks football

games register on their nearby seismometer during their study -- it's across the street

from the stadium.

Their short write-up, published in Seismological Research Letters details how they spotted

it.

The equipment was so sensitive, a write up on the PNSN's website said, that they of

course, could detect the rumbling of all the fans, but they could also detect cars coming

and going, and use the data to tell if the team was losing.

After a few losses, the "less raucous" crowd rumbled a lot less.

Though, in 2013, the researchers registered a 1-to-2 magnitude rumble emanating from the

stadium.

The team was on the rebound!

This wasn't the first time sports caused a little rumble.

At Louisiana State, there was a 15-20 minute-long seismometer trigger in 1988 -- it was widely

reported in the media, and has become known as "the earthquake game."

And these two stadiums have a couple things in common, they hold a lot of people--

LSU had 79,431 And the Seahawks had 68,387

An average of about 74 thousand humans.

Right!

So, back to the Superb Owl -- using marketing stats on who watches the big game, we can

estimate the average weight of say -- 74,000 fans… (a little more than the Houston stadium

where El-Eye is going down).

… at least 13.5 million pounds of human (6.1M kg).

Jumping up and down.

Maybe more!

Seismographs can actually detect incredibly small movements in the Earth.

These human "quakes," while fun for the media to report on, weren't actual earthquakes,

because they weren't inside the Earth's crust -- they only imparted force onto the

crust.

The thing is, people aren't just jumping, they're also shouting and breathing and

talking.

That's a lot of people air moving in and out.

On average, we breathe a little over 2 cups of air at a time (500mL), this is called the

tidal volume.

Meaning, in a stadium, with 74,000 people they're collectively sucking in 9,774 gallons

(37,000L) of air at any given moment!

That's 105 pounds pounds of air (47.5kg)!

Just from breathing normally!

Technically, a bit less because, fun fact, humid air weighs less than dry air.

Actually, riffing on that.

Human breath is hot--

Yes, about 94 degrees

and completely saturated with water

Yes, it's 100-percent humidity in there.

So, the exhalation of 37,000 liters of hot, humid air would contain about 1.5 liters of

water!

GROSS.

Human water.

In fact, an informal study done at Louisiana State University compared readings inside

and outside their stadium during a game and found humidity spikes from all those breathing

meatbags.

But look, this is the Superb Owl.

If they're in that stadium, they're probably also shouting.

The current Guinness Record-holder for loudest stadium is the Kansas City Chiefs.

In September 2014, they shouted at 142.2 decibels -- louder than a jet flying over.

And while a lot of people argue over who's louder...

It's not actually a great measure of power.

The further from the sound you get, the lower the relative intensity.

For example, a person on the opposite end of the football field from someone hearing

a 142 decibel reading would only hear 113 decibels.

One, is a jet taking off and the other is just a regular old rock concert.

In the end, masses of humanity can do something to affect the world around us.

If we stick together.

Or just… breathe a lot.

Yuck.

No matter the American sport, we gotta have a ref, ump, or someone who gets all uppity

and is usually wrong.

Are all refs just bad?

Or what?

Find out here.

Who you rooting for in the Superb Owl?

Barn?

Screech?

Northern white-faced?

Southern white-faced?

Hedwig?

Tell us in the comments.

That "superb owl" thing just kills me.

And thanks for watching DNews.

Why I Love Hip-Hop the Most - Duration: 1:41.

- You know why I love hip hop the most?

'Cause people that are really in it, they work.

Like I'm in Corporate America.

I'm in Silicon Valley.

Actually, that's why I fell in love with Silicon Valley.

Those nerds, they worked like my hip hop friends did.

- [Envy] Mhmmm. - I'm like, "Wait a minute,

"these kids are coding at 2 in the morning?" Right?

Like going in the studio last night at midtown

at 12 and watching everybody work.

Dave needs to work.

He's working. They're working.

- [Woman] Oh, you were there with Yung Berg and everybody?

- I was with Berg last night. - [Cha] He was--

- Oh, he was on the show with you, right?

- [Woman] Yeah. - Yeah.

And you know why? - [Woman] That's funny.

- It motivates me.

Because in Corporate America when I go sit with CMOs and CEOs

of Fortune 500 companies, they don't work like this.

They're done at 6.

- [Cha] That's interesting though

because you have the type of money

that most rappers would probably be like,

"You know what? I'mma relax."

Hip hop guys work so hard because that's probably

their only opportunity to make anything.

Like really, really make-- - The ones that,

by the way, Corporate America people are like that.

Other people are like that.

This is not a race or a genre thing.

Most people want to get to a certain place

and they work to be able to enjoy and relax.

And there's a small group that works for the fucking game.

- [Envy & Gary] I work for the game.

- I want all-time legacy.

I want people watching this in 2059.

What's up, Jeremiah?

That's my great-great-grandson.

That's what I want.

I want all time legacy.

That's what I want.

The reason, by the way,

the reason I'm nice and giving away all my best content

on Instagram and stuff,

it's not because I'm Mother Teresa.

It's because I want the leverage of being that guy.

- [Envy] But do you think people should do...

NFL Coach Installing 'Scrambler' To Prevent Social Media Mishaps in Locker Room - Duration: 1:28.

What's going on guys, for Complex News, I'm Speedy Morman.

It seems like these days, social media are getting more people in trouble than ever before.

People are openly exposing themselves committing crimes, accidentally showing their genitals,

you name it.

But now, one N-F-L coach is trying to make sure his team doesn't incriminate themselves

online, at least while in the locker room.

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton stopped by the Tiki and Tierney C-B-S Sports

radio show, and revealed that he'd be installing a quote simple scrambler to keep his team

from doing anything stupid.

Just a few weeks ago, after the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Kansas City Chiefs, Antonio

Brown hopped on Facebook Live to celebrate.

He captured his teammates dancing, and even his head coach calling the New England Patriots

"a**holes."

So, Payton was asked how he would have dealt with the situation;

"It's a lot easier to handle if it's a third-string tight end.

It's much more difficult to handle when it's one of your top players.

But that being said, I'd have been pissed.

Look, corporate America is dealing with this same issue.

In the work world, employees at their desk, how much time are they spending on social

media?

Close to 35, 40 percent of the time?"

A simple scrambler may do the trick, but I'd imagine that most of the trouble would come

from home anyway.

Hopefully, they can keep out of trouble.

For Complex News, I'm Speedy Morman.

A Trespassing Constrictor | Snake City - Duration: 3:11.

[music playing]

[dogs barking]

[sighs]

Are they big dogs, little dogs?

Yeah, it's quite a lot of dogs there.

[dog barks]

Sue, turn off that camera, [inaudible].

No, we're not t--

NEIGHBOR: Turn off that camera.

Sue, are you there yet?

Are these people all right if I-- ow.

All I can hear is shouting, swearing, and a big commotion.

Jeez, this guy is not happy.

All that I heard was, f-ing this, I'm gonna kill you.

And I was trying to politely say, I'm trying to get a snake.

I want to try and reason with him,

but he's just not listening to me.

SIMON: We're gonna lose it.

We're taking too long.

We don't want to get in trouble, but we have to save this snake.

I've got no option, other than to jump the fence,

try and catch the snake, and get out

before the guy finds me and shoots me,

because that's what he's gonna do.

[nervous laugh]

Yeah, yeah.

SIMON (VOICEOVER): Saving the snake also

means we're removing a serious threat to this guy's

dogs or young kids.

[dogs barking]

SUSIE: Oh, there's a-- there's a--

SIMON: All right.

SUSIE: No, that's fine.

Mhm.

It's actually over on that side.

I'm gonna jump this side and then jump the other side.

Oh, there's all glass everywhere.

I'll go slowly.

Ah, right.

SUSIE: OK.

SIMON: Go.

I can see it.

And if I don't grab it, we'll lose it.

This man was really intimidating.

I don't want to aggravate him and annoy him,

so I run back around to try and help Simon.

[dogs barking]

Where are you, Simon?

SIMON: Here.

SUSIE: Should I come back around?

Just mind yourself.

SUSIE: Ooh.

OK, it's going into here.

I've got no tools, so I'm gonna have to grab this one by hand.

Come here.

OK, I've got it by the tail.

I've gotta hurry.

SIMON: [panting]

Hold on, where's his head?

Ah, that's it.

Go on, snake.

SUSIE: How did you get in there?

Wait, there we go.

SUSIE: Simon. - I'm here.

I've got it.

SUSIE: You're in that guy's property.

Got it. SUSIE: Be careful.

Where are you?

SIMON: Hey, don't bite me.

All right, one red-tailed boa.

Now I've got the snake.

It's time to get the hell out of here.

SUSIE: Do you want me to come and get it from you?

Ow.

All right, it made me jump.

Yeah, Sue, just grab there.

I can't get out because of razor wire.

I don't think I can jump this high.

SIMON (VOICEOVER): Susie can't reach me or the snake.

It's time for the cameraman to help out.

[bleep] razor wire. It's gonna bite.

It's gonna bite, but just--

it's quite grumpy.

Yep, mate.

Yeah.

Make it jump.

All right.

[dog barking]

God, bloody razor wire.

OK, cool.

Thanks.

There we go.

[panting]

There we go.

Oh.

Watch it.

That one.

On September 15th, 2001, a white man shot and killed a Pakistani immigrant outside of

a grocery store in Texas.

On September 21st, 2001, that same white man shot a Bangladeshi immigrant in the face.

On October 4th, 2001, that same white man shot and killed an Indian immigrant.

In 2002, he sent a letter from jail in which he said the attacks were revenge for 9/11.

He called himself an "Arab slayer" and said he did what every American wanted to

do but was too afraid to do.

Rais Bhuiyan, the Bangladeshi immigrant, survived the shotgun blast to the face and went on

to try to prevent the execution of the white man who shot him.

He said, "According to my faith in Islam, there is no hate, no killing.

It doesn't allow anything like that.

… I strongly believe executing him is not a solution.

We will just simply lose a human life without dealing with the root cause, which is hate crime.

... In Islam it says that saving one human life is the same as saving the entire mankind."

On July 27th, 2008, a white man went into a Unitarian Universalist church in Tennessee,

shot and killed 2 people, and injured 7 others.

Police letter found a letter in which he said that liberals were destroying the country,

and he needed to kill all the liberals and gays.

The church was targeted for its liberal stance on various issues, including gay rights.

Police found several books in his home that he was clearly a fan of, including "Liberalism

is a mental health disorder" by Michael Savage, as well as books by Sean Hannity and

Bill O'Reilly detailing their disdain for the left.

On August 5th 2012, a white man went into a Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, shot and killed

6 people, and injured 4 others.

He didn't leave a manifesto, but he was a known Neo-Nazi and White Supremacist, who

likely killed these people because he thought they were Muslims.

On June 17th, 2015, a white man went into a Black church in North Carolina, shot and

killed 9 people, and injured 1 other.

He left a manifesto in which he described how the Trayvon Martin case made him "racially

aware" and how he supported George Zimmerman.

He described his hatred for Black people in detail and believed that white people were

the ones who were really being discriminated against.

On January 29th, 2017, a white man went into a Muslim Mosque in Quebec, shot and killed

6 people, and injured 17 others.

He was a supporter of Donald Trump and far-right French politician Marine Le Pen.

He was a far-right white nationalist who often expressed anti-Muslim, anti-refugee, and anti-feminist views.

In the last 40 years, zero Americans have been killed by terrorists from Iran, Iraq,

Syria, Somalia, Sudan, or Yemen.

Yet, on January 27th, 2017, Donald Trump issued an executive order banning all immigrants

from those 7 countries.

He says that it is not a Muslim ban, but it targets Muslim-majority countries, and makes

exceptions for Christian refugees.

Plus, he has previously stated that he wanted a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims

entering the US."

However, this is counterproductive to the end goal of protecting the United States.

Part of ISIS's propaganda is the idea that Muslims aren't welcome in the West.

They want to create an Islam vs. the West dichotomy because it helps them recruit vulnerable Muslims.

We cannot give them that.

We have to be better than that.

We have to prove to them that Muslims are welcome in the West.

The US is not at war with a religion; it's at war with ISIS.

And ISIS does not even come close to representing all Muslims.

There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, and to lump them all together and claim that

they believe all the same things is ridiculous.

Everybody has their own interpretation of their religion, and the vast majority of Muslims

follow a peaceful interpretation of Islam.

Sure, you can point to violent rhetoric in the Qu'ran, but you can do the same for the

Bible, yet nobody would dare suggest banning Christians.

However, there is one group that regularly spews violent rhetoric and commits acts of

terrorism in the name of its ideology: the far-right.

In the last 15 years, 50 Americans have been killed by right-wing terrorists.

These terrorists are often radicalized in online communities with connections to neo-Nazism,

the very same communities that now use the term "alt-right" to describe themselves.

They have a deep hatred of refugees, immigrants, and Muslims.

They use phrases like "white genocide" as coded language to reference their White

Supremacist/White Nationalist views.

They complain about "PC culture" and feminism.

And when they do commit an act of terrorism, the media calls them lone wolves, but they're not.

They're inspired by a far-right movement that encourages racism, islamophobia, and xenophobia.

Alt-right White Nationalists are a bigger threat to American safety than Muslim extremists.

We need to be talking about the radicalization of white men into these White Nationalist

communities, not banning innocent Muslims.

If you're still afraid of Muslims and immigrants, here are some facts for you.

The Cato Institute, a typically right-leaning Libertarian think tank, found that your chances

of being killed in a terrorist attack by a foreign-born terrorist are 1 in 3.6 million per year.

Your chances of being killed in a terrorist attack by a refugee are 1 in 3.64 billion per year.

And your chances of being killed in a terrorist attack by an undocumented immigrant are 1

in 10.9 billion per year.

In fact, the Cato Institute says, "The annual chance of being murdered by somebody other

than a foreign-born terrorist was 252.9 times greater than the chance of dying in a terrorist

attack committed by a foreign-born terrorist."

The risk of being killed by terrorism committed by an immigrant is astronomically low, but

with the rise of the White Nationalist movement in recent years, hate crimes against Muslims

and Jews have also been on the rise, though hate crime data is hard to come by and not

tracked very well at the national level.

I'm afraid that if we don't address White Nationalist terrorism, we're going to see

more domestic hate crimes and acts of terrorism like the one in Quebec City.

And it doesn't help that the White House Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon, is a known

White Nationalist and now has a seat on the National Security Council.

I care about the safety and wellbeing of all Americans.

Trust me, I'm an American -- I very much would like to stay safe.

But I don't think an irrational fear of foreigners is going to keep us safe.

I think our policies need to be based on data and empirical evidence, and the data shows

us that banning immigrants, refugees, and Muslims is a mistake.

Thanks for watching this episode of Politics with Riley. I'll see you next time.

Anatomy of A Rugby Player: How Strong Is Olympic Medallist Tom Mitchel? - Duration: 13:33.

We've taken six of the world's top athletes

to find out what it takes to make a true Olympian...

Now we're working, come on!

- ..testing, analysing... - Dig deep, come on!

..going behind the stats of an elite athlete

as we push their bodies to the max.

(ANATOMY OF A RUGBY PLAYER)

The physical demands of rugby sevens

are absolutely enormous.

It's an incredibly fast game, played at incredible pace.

They are the complete package, they are strong,

they are lean and they are powerful

across the entire body.

Tom Mitchell is Team GB's captain

and one of rugby sevens' leading point-scorers.

He led his country to a stunning silver medal

at the Olympic Games Rio 2016...

Tom Mitchell!

..in sevens' first appearance at the Games

and his explosive combination of agility,

speed and strength make Tom

one of his sport's true superstars.

Growing up, being a lover of sport as a kid,

you watch the Olympics, realising

that's the pinnacle of sport.

We brought Tom to our cutting edge sports lab

to face one of his toughest physical challenges so far.

As a sevens player, his anatomy has to excel

in almost every measurable area.

The games are fast and brutal, two seven to ten minute

halves of quick-passing, full-impact,

hard-charging action.

He may be near the pinnacle of his sport,

but if Tom has any weakness, we'll find it.

So, just how close to peak performance is he?

The type of muscle groups, really, for rugby sevens,

is almost entirely global.

They require speed, for sprinting.

In addition, they're doing a lot of tackling.

Big biceps, triceps, shoulders, pecs and to bring those

together, you have to be incredibly strong

throughout the core.

(ROOM IN USE)

(DO NOT ENTER)

Before we really put Tom's physiology to the test,

we need to see the anatomy that lies

beneath the surface.

The Dexa scan will give us the data we need

to see how much of Team GB's

captain is power-producing muscle.

When we look at the body composition of an average

American footballer, they have a fat percentage of 15.3,

a Premier League footballer is 12.5, but Tom is leaner

than them both at 12.3%.

The interesting thing that we see in Tom

is that he's very lean.

There's a lot of muscle mass with very little fat mass.

Only 12.3% of his total body mass is made up of fat

and that's very, very low, particularly for someone

who is carrying 85 kilos at 177cm.

You have to live a different life,

you have to stay in when you might want to go out.

You can't just have a lazy takeaway,

you need to make yourself proper food all the time

and for some people, that's not the life they want to live,

but the rewards are great.

We get to represent our country on the biggest stage.

(DYNO)

The dynamometer test is a measure of strength

and it's also a measure of strength endurance.

So what we should see here, is Tom with very high strength.

Why is that important?

Because strength underpins power, power underpins speed.

Of course, what we have to factor in here, is

that Tom is carrying an injury, so I think, here,

we'll actually see that unmasked.

The dyno will really put Tom's key muscle groups

of hamstrings and quadriceps to the test.

These are the drivers for everything he does

on the rugby field - running, kicking and tackling.

So what I'm going to get you to do, when I say, "Go,"

is to bring your foot back behind your knee

and then extend out as hard as you can to push

against the resistance.

Three, two, one, let's go! And push, push, push!

Pull, pull, pull! Push, push, push!

Pull, pull, pull! Push, push, push!

Last one, pull, pull and relax.

Tom's training involves continual work

on his quads and hamstrings,

the power behind his every move during a game.

The unrelenting pace that sevens is played at,

combined with the kind of impact most of us

would only feel in a car crash,

means a powerful leg musculature is essential

in the modern player.

But after the biggest tournament of his life,

is Tom still firing on all cylinders?

Push, push, push, pull, pull, pull!

Push, push, push, pull, pull, pull! And relax.

Well done, good stuff! Excellent stuff.

Tom's results show some impressive

power-output figures.

His right leg quads generating 106 newton metres,

but his left leg producing a huge 134.

These results tell us that he is strong,

and you can see that just by looking at him -

his incredible physique.

He's very strong in the quadriceps

and he's very strong in the hamstrings

so that ratio is very, very good.

Playing rugby, that's a huge demand on your body.

We joke often in training that we're going to be

in a pretty bad way when we're old men, but the reality is

it does take a toll on your body.

You spend the weekends lying around cos you're sore

and you're icing because you have to, if you want to

try and get out on the training field the next week.

You know, there are things that do really affect your life.

(SPEED)

Rugby sevens is an invasion game.

It's the ability of a player to take the ball and break through

a defence in order to score a try.

Speed is of the essence.

And so what we're expecting to see here,

is that Tom should be carrying very high speed

which is all part of this package of performance.

In the sprint test, Tom will use many of the same

muscles as the dyno, but instead of torque, it's raw

speed that we're measuring.

Rugby sevens has some of the fastest men on the planet

outside of a 100m final, but just how will Tom measure up?

Make sure when you get to that last gate,

you do not slow down, you run straight through it.

Three, two, one, let's go!

Push, push, push, all the way through!

We're testing Tom over short, explosive distances

clocking not only his five and 20m splits,

but also his ground contact time.

Because in sevens, speed is everything.

Look at this run coming from Rosco Speckman!

Well, here goes Iles!

Look at that!

Well, he's not going to be caught now, is he?

Despite breaking his left ankle a year ago,

it's not holding Tom back.

Time for the analysis.

The 5m sprint time, your best time is 1.15,

so not too bad at all.

Yeah, quite happy with that.

Tom's speed is certainly one of his major assets

and although his 20m time of 3.08 seconds

is below the quick men of the 15-a-side game,

his ground contact results are the headline grabber.

Only three 100ths of a second outside a world-class sprinter.

When we analyse the contact time,

what that's telling us is power.

It's about Tom's ability to strike the ground

and accelerate off the ground.

Because, invariably, in rugby sevens,

it is about acceleration from either zero velocity

or otherwise, standstill, or very low velocity

to very, very high speed as quickly as possible.

My main strength on the field is my ability

to use my feet and my agility to beat

defenders, to create space.

Tied in with that is my acceleration, the ability to

move quickly across the ground and change direction quickly

is something I use in the game all the time.

(UP CLOSE)

I played a whole load of sports when I was younger,

I was mad into football,

I played cricket at school, as well, loved playing

basketball, tennis.

Fortunately, my dad was into his rugby,

took me up the local rugby club when I was eight

and I'm pretty glad he did, cos I've loved the sport.

Compared to some of the other guys, I'm fortunate in our

squad, we've got a huge number of athletes.

Some guys that are big and push a lot of weight in the gym

and have a lot of power, other guys are incredibly quick,

so I'm kind of in the middle somewhere

and try to have a bit of everything.

I guess perhaps that's my strength.

If there was another sport that I could play

it would be basketball, I'd love to play in the NBA.

I watch some of those guys like Lebrun James.

The athleticism and the skill and the speed

that they play with,

I'd love to have been able to emulate that

but I'm a few inches too short for that game, I think.

(COGNITIVE)

Performance is not just about the body,

it's about the interaction between the body and the brain.

Effectively, the brain is the central controller,

it's telling us what to do.

So, for Tom, he's having to make decisions at incredibly

high speeds in very, very pressurised environments.

Very difficult thing to do.

Cognitive ability is vital to maximising

the body's physical function.

But it's not just about relaying instructions.

In a game situation, Tom has to absorb,

process and interpret huge amounts of data, fast.

OK, Tom, we're going to do a series of tests

and these are going to look at your brain function.

By testing Tom's pattern-recognition skills,

we can evaluate both his spatial awareness

as well as his ability to make the right decisions quickly.

Rugby sevens has been called human chess,

a game of the brain as much as the body.

Reaction time is critical for any player,

but especially a team captain.

Can Tom make the correct calls quickly when it really counts?

How did you find that?

Yeah, it does mess with your mind a bit.

Your average reaction time is quicker

than Jenson Button's one.

I'll take it, I'll take that!

These results for Tom are absolutely outstanding,

particularly around response time.

And, in fact, what we see is a better response time

than we expect from Formula One drivers,

so it really tells you how important this area is for Tom,

but probably tells you something about Tom.

What really makes him elite is the ability

to make those split-second decisions,

which is what makes him one of the best

try-scorers in the world.

(FORCE)

The countermovement jump test and the drop jump test

are really markers of power.

Because we're looking at height jumped,

they're also a measure of power-to-weight ratio.

In other words what you are trying to be

is as light as possible, but as powerful as possible.

The force test will focus on Tom's calves,

quads, adductors and glutes

measuring how quickly he can move

from muscle extension to contraction

to achieve maximal force in the shortest possible time.

Maximal effort, keep your hands on hips,

as high as you possibly can,

and then land and hold that position.

Three, two, one, maximum effort here.

Good stuff, and jump.

Good stuff, well done, excellent.

Whether it's competing for possession or breaking through

the toughest of defences, the modern sevens player,

needs the ability to unleash maximum power

instantaneously to make those big match-saving tackles

as well as try-scoring runs.

Two, one, good and go!

Good stuff, well done and relax.

The contact times are really, really good.

Again, comparable to some Olympic athletes we've had in.

A drop jump contact time of 0.21 seconds,

combined with a flight time of almost half a second,

are in the same zone as an Olympic high jumper

and Tom's not even at full fitness.

Because we know Tom is carrying an injury,

I think the interesting thing for me is that we can

compartmentalise this into two areas -

one is the sort of psychology and the other is the physiology

and the performance.

From a psychology perspective, it shows you

what Tom is all about.

He is the captain of Team GB,

he is a leader, he is tenacious, he is driven

and I think that really tells you everything

you need to know - that despite the injury,

he undertook the test.

The constant battle that we face as rugby players

is robustness, the ability to train day in, day out

and maintain a healthy body throughout a tournament.

In its Olympic debut, rugby sevens proved to be one

of the most exciting and explosive sports in Rio.

To excel at the highest level, it needs the complete athlete

and Tom's speed, strength and mental firepower

set him apart even among the elite,

showing just what's behind the anatomy

of an Olympic medal-winner.

I mean, Tom is an incredible specimen.

You only need to take a look at him to see that.

He is an elite athlete, he has strength,

he has power, he has speed, he has agility.

Is he going to go the distance?

Oh, my word! Tom Mitchell!

The standout thing is actually his ability

to operate under pressure, to make decisions

and that will be the difference between winning and losing.

The thing is about being a professional athlete,

it's not your nine to five,

there's not really a clocking off time.

So, you go home, you think about what you're eating,

you're thinking about how much sleep you need that night.

That can be a tough thing to adjust to at the beginning,

but once you're into it and you realise why

you're making those sacrifices,

then it just becomes part of your life.

Bank Loses BILLIONS For Funding Dakota Pipeline - Duration: 5:57.

Generali to hold meeting on Monday on Intesa stake source February 5, 2017 - Duration: 2:13.

Generali to hold meeting on Monday on Intesa stake source

Italy's top insurer Generali (GASI.MI) will hold a meeting on Monday to discuss the 3

percent stake it bought in Intesa Sanpaolo (ISP.MI) in January to fend off unwanted interest

from the bank, a person familiar with the matter said on Sunday.

Generali's investment committee is due to meet on Monday to discuss ways of maintaining

the stake but on more favorable terms, the person said, confirming a report in Sunday's

Il Sole 24 Ore.

In January Generali, whose biggest investor is influential investment bank Mediobanca

(MDBI.MI), bought around 3 percent of Intesa as a defensive move to stop Intesa building

a stake.

Italy's biggest retail bank is looking at a possible tie-up with Generali but has said

any such move should not jeopardize its capital base or dividend policy.

On Friday Intesa CEO Carlo Messina said the bank would take all the time it needed to

make up its mind on any possible move on Generali.

According to Sole 24 Ore, Generali management and board members might also discuss on Monday

bringing on board a second adviser, alongside Goldman Sachs (GS.N), to help build a defense

against any Intesa move.

Morgan Stanley (MS.N) and JPMorgan (JPM.N) could be approached, the paper said.

Sylvan Learning Super Bowl - Duration: 3:18.

OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUR KIDS.

WE'RE JOINED BY MONICA FROM THE

SYLVAN LEARNING CENTER FOR

MORE.

SAGE IS SO CUTE.

SHE'S GOING TO SELL THIS FOR

YOU.

I'M TELLING YOU.

ARE YOU EXCITED FOR THE BIG

GAME?

I THINK SHE'S EXCITED TO

PLAY.

YES.

SO WHAT DO WE HAVE?

WAYS TO INCORPORATE LEARNING

INTO TODAY'S BIG MATCH UP.

YES, A LOT OF NUMBERS

INVOLVED BETWEEN THE YARDAGE

AND SCORES.

I WOULD NEVER THINK TO DO

THAT.

FOR SAGE WE MADE A LITTLE

MEMORY GAME.

SAGE IS A PRESCHOOLER GETTING

TO KNOW NUMBERS AND SHAPES SO

WE HAVE A SIMPLE MEMORY GAME.

FOR OLDER KIDS GETTING INTO

THIRD OR FOURTH FIFTH GRADE,

ADDING ADDITION AND

MULTIPLICATION PROBLEMS ON

THERE TOO.

WHAT'S THE LEGOS?

FOR OUR ENGINEERS WE CAN

HAVE CONTEST BETWEEN THE KIDS

TO BUILD STADIUMS.

SO WE HAD A STADIUM BUILD WITH

A FOOTBALL FIELD DEPENDING ON

HOW MANY YOU HAVE.

HAVE A CONTEST WHO CAN MAKE THE

BIGGEST STADIUM AND WIDEST.

IS THAT YOUR STADIUM THERE?

OR ARE YOU TAILGATING IN THE

PARKING LOT SNFRJTS SHE'S LIKE,

I'M BUSY, LEAVE ME ALONE.

IT'S THE HOUSE FOR THE

FOOTBALL PLAYERS.

IT'S WHAT SHE SAID.

OKAY.

SO THESE ARE THE STATS AND

STUFF YES, WE HAVE THE STATS

FOR EACH PLAYER.

HAVE THE KIDS LOOK UP THEIR

STATS.

WE HAVE OUR QUARTERBACKS FOR

THE BIG GAME TODAY.

THEN COMPARE HOW THE STATS HAVE

BEEN THROUGH THE SEASON.

FOR THIS GAME AND THEN SHANNON

HAS A MAP HERE.

WE CAN BRING GEOGRAPHY INTO.

SO WHILE YOU HAVE THAT, FIND

WHERE EACH TEAM IS FROM.

HOW MANY MILES IS IT FRL SUPER

BOWL, IF THEY HAD TO DRIVE, HOW

LONG WOULD IT HAVE TAKEN THEM

TO DRIVE?

SO MAKE THE KIDS USE THE MAP

KEY AND GET TO KNOW THE ROADS

AND MILEAGE.

AND THEN FIGURE OUT IF THEY

TRAVELED 55 MILES PER HOUR AN

HOUR, HOW MANY HOURS WOULD IT

TAKE THEM TO GET TO THE GAME?

THAT'S WAY TOO MUCH MATH.

THAT WOULD KEEP THEM BUSY

FOR A WHOLE QUARTER TO FIGURE

IT OUT.

WHILE YOU CHECK OUT YOUR

MAPS TO CHECK YOUR WORK, WE

WANT TO SEE IF OUR MATH IS

RIGHT, FIND INTERESTING FACTS

ABOUT EACH CITY.

OKAY, THAT'S GREAT.

SO YOU HAVE ALL THESE COLORING

THINGS.

YES, ANYTHING WITH COLORING,

DRAWING IT'S GREAT FOR HAND EYE

MOTOR SKILLS.

SO SAGE WANTED TO COLOR THEN WE

GOT SOME COLORING SHEETS.

THEY CAN DO THIS WHILE YOU

WANT TO WATCH THE GAME.

IT KEEPS THEM SAFE AND BUSY AND

OCCUPIED.

SO WHERE ARE YOU GUYS

LOCATED?

SO WE'RE IN ELK GROVE AND

ROCK LAND.

YOU CAN FIND A BUNCH OF THESE

FUN EDUCATIONAL THINGS TO DO ON

OUR WEBSITE.

SYLVAN LEARNING.COM AND THERE'S

A GREAT PARENT BLOG WITH

INFORMATIVE EDUCATIONAL

MATERIAL.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING

IN.

THESE ARE SO OUT OF THE BOX, I

COULDN'T WOULDN'T THINK TO DO

THAT.

THIS IS A WAY YOU CAN ACTUALLY

LEARN SOMETHING AT THE SAME

Learn English - Weekly Tip 17 for Spanish Speakers - one bike / a bike (with subtitles) - Duration: 2:02.

Hi once again everyone, and welcome back

to 'One English tip in One Minute for

Spanish Speakers' where every week I

talk about, in some detail, one common

English mistake made by those who speak

Spanish as a mother tongue, and this is

the 17th video...or video number 17.

I say it a lot, but I say it because I

mean it: I appreciate the fact that you

are working to improve your English, and

I truly hope these videos are helping.

In these videos I show you a slide, and

on the slide there are two sentences: One

is the correct way that a native English

speaker would say it, the other is the wrong way

that many Spanish speakers say it.

Your job is to decide which one is

correct. Please do that now. Read the

sentences,

listen to me read the sentences, pause

the video, think about your answer and I

will discuss the answer in the slide

that follows this slide.

If you got this wrong you -- or you just

took a wild guess and happened to get it

right --

you're in good company. Many people make

this mistake. It's the reason it's in

these videos. To help you get past

that, I've given you three sentences to

study from. You should memorize these

sentences -- really hard wire them into

your brain -- by reviewing, reviewing,

reviewing, and put into practice what

you've learned through speaking or

writing or both. And go outside of these

videos and learn from the vast amount of

resources that are out there in the

world.
