Shillong's Young Rap Crew: Symphonic Movement | Episode 8 | Hip Hop Homeland North East - Duration: 7:50.

Hip Hop Homeland is all about representing your homeland

Hence, all of us thought

Why not do a huge collaboration with everyone

Who's influencing the scene in the north-east

New day, new morning

We were nearly at the end of our collab

We've got brilliant vocals from Khasi Bloodz

We got some dope s**t from C.S.P as well

But this song misses something

Something big, you know

Something like a hook

I'm here to find the missing piece of our project

When I was in Kolkata

I watched this band on YouTube

They were contesting in Meghalaya's Got Talent

Praiselyson?

That way?

Thank you

Bro, Praiselyson, you did a fantastic job

I really liked what you did with

Symphonic Movement, man.

Respect!

Finally, it's good to put a face on Praiselyson

We've been looking for you for a long time

When I spoke to Praiselyson about our project

He seemed like the man

Who can help us with our problem

We don't have a hook yet, that's the problem

And we thought, with your sound and the kids

We could really work something out

We can do that

Talking about the kids, where are they?

They must be at the playground right now

Iari, come here

What's up, man?

Iari, we've heard so much about you, man

Nice to finally meet you guys

Praiselyson, tell me all about Symphonic Movement

Symphonic Movement is a revolutionary group

A movement in motion, for a change

A change in our lives and a change in our society

Tell me how it all began

I was in Bangalore, pursuing my Computer Applications

When I got back, I was getting high all day

It came to a point where I thought

'I'm fed up of doing this and I should do something about it'

I felt like there's more to life than to just sniffing around

And just playing around with your life

Absolutely

So we started with Iari

A kid rapping like all the mainstream artists

And he would do it in a split second

So, I found that interesting

Iari is my youngest son

And the one thing he loves the most is to sing

Even while I'm feeding him

He would sing along

He loves to rap

My favorite part of the day is the morning

When Iari is putting on his uniform

He raps when he's doing it

I like being a part of Symphonic Movement

They are like my family

Praiselyson is like my brother

He helps me with my raps and I like the raps he writes

Praise brought me out of my shell

I was into drugs

I used to smoke weed

He got me out of that

So I love him as a brother

She wants to sing for the rest of her life

We are a very big family

And everybody has a lot of expectations from her

When she went to Meghalaya's Got Talent

Everyone was excited for her

What she should wear, what she should do

Doing this keeps her busy

She won't mingle with others

It makes me happy

Her time is spent well

We have kids on the streets getting into drugs

And they don't know anything about drugs, heroin or weed

Smoking weed at a very young age

11-12 years old or even younger than that

Even 10-year-olds are into that

They are being influenced by something

That can be destructive to them

So I wanna show the world that

You'd rather be constructive than destructive

We are all gifted people

This was really nice and fun

Guys, this was awesome.

Thanks for doing this, yeah

Thanks to you too, bro

Yeah, man

How about we go to the studio and record this song?

I believe in this song

Yeah, it would be great

Let's get to the studio

1, 2, 3, 4

Home is where am at, the eastside's my homeland

Home is where am at, the eastside's my homeland

The clock work..

Home is where am at, the eastside's my homeland

The clock work, my fingers are working to the bone

Home is where am at, the eastside's my homeland

The clock work, my fingers are working to the bone

I'm raising my flag, waving it high, revolution's coming

Down down

Downnn..

Remember that one

Down, down, down

Just give it in, man, last time

When I started off on this journey

I didn't have any expectations

I didn't know the people I'd come across

But I knew one thing for sure

That this song had to be revolutionary

Today, after I met all these souls

And got to know them a little better

I've learned to appreciate

What I have, a little more than before

Hip Hop is a lifestyle

For it to become a religion

You need to tap into the spirit of it

And to spread that knowledge

Is the religion

Letters to an Asexual #42 (Asexual Tropes in Fiction) - Duration: 16:23.

Hey everyone, it's swankivy, and I'm here with another Letters to an Asexual.

This is number 42.

Um, today's a little bit different than usual as I'm not going to read hate mail, but I

am going to read some messages to me.

I went ahead and popped onto my Tumblr blog and asked my followers if they had anything

they wanted me to talk about, um, so maybe I could have a little change of pace from

reading my hate mail.

Um, and based on the responses I got, there was actually a theme developing, so I'm going

to go in a direction that I've kinda covered a couple other places but not explicitly on

this channel and that is, um, some aspects of how asexual people are portrayed in fiction.

Um, I'm also going to include some aspects of aromanticism as, you know, I'm an aromantic

asexual woman, so I see a lot of conflation and a lot of similarities in some of the problems

with portraying both asexual and aromantic people in fiction.

Um, and first I'm going to read to you the two main comments that I got that asked me

to address this so that you can understand, um, why I cover what I cover.

Um, and uh, this was the first message I got: "Can you do one about writing asexual characters?

And asexual representation / annoying tropes you find while reading fiction, specifically?

I'd also like to know your favorite Ace book character?"

And I'm sorry on that last but I don't really have a favorite ace book character, unless

the one that I'm writing counts.

I am writing a young adult novel about an asexual high school kid who is trying to get

into art school.

Uh, so maybe she's my favorite.

But no one can have read that yet because I haven't even finished writing it.

Um, there's not a whole lot out there to pick from.

Asexual characters do exist, and I did a whole other video about asexual characters if you'd

like to check that one out.

Uh, but for now I'm actually just gonna talk about, um, the, uh, the ways that they're

portrayed in fiction, and discuss some of the issues with that.

Um, and I also wanna read the other comment before I start going into that.

And that is someone said: "Since I've seen more ace hate recently: Please address that

having the headcanon that a character is asexual doesn't mean they can't fall in love and/or

have sex.

I'm so tired of condescending people who don't understand how asexuality works."

And I kinda need to explain if some of you who are watching this don't know what that

person means by "headcanon," um, a headcanon is a common term used in discussions of fandoms

of, you know, certain fictional universes where something that has not happened in the

canon of the show, the actual established material of the show or the book or the fictional

universe, but is something that the person imagines to be true or wants to be true, someone

will say they "headcanon" that person as being asexual, or as um, being any particular orientation

or a whole host of other things that people have headcanons about.

And this person was talking about headcanoning asexual people--that are people in fiction

that may or not actually be asexual but you headcanon them as being asexual.

You just imagine that they are.

Okay, so this commenter was concerned about how common it is for people to believe that

having sex, being in a relationship, falling in love, all of those things will negate that

person's asexuality or will mean that they can't be considered asexual, and this is basically

just an education issue.

People are very black and white about what an asexual person can do and still use that

term.

Um, unfortunately, of course there's a ton of conflation of asexuality and aromanticism,

um, but even if that's not the issue, sometimes people don't understand that "aromantic" doesn't

necessarily mean a person cannot have sex or that a person cannot be in some kind of

relationship, and the same with being asexual.

There are a lot of asexual people who wanna have a relationship, may have sex in those

relationships, and in fictional universes, some people will say, oh, if you think somebody

is asexual, and you're imagining that they are, and then they have sex or they get in

a relationship, that that means that character is NOT asexual.

That's not true.

Um, and also kind of the opposite of that: if, um, you are saying you think that a person

is asexual because they remind you of yourself, you're an ace person and you see that they

act like you and it's because they don't have sex or it's because they don't fall in love

or it's because they don't experience any romantic attraction or don't appear to, um,

that is not proof that they're asexual, but it also doesn't mean that they can never do

those things in the future of their fictional universe and you know that if people are interpreting

them that way, then that means they don't want them to ever have those things.

'And that if they did, you would suddenly not be able to use that term for them.

Um, there are so many different manifestations of asexuality, of aromanticism, of both of

those things, and, um, people just tend to be very hard-line about what "counts."

So, um, hopefully that addresses that aspect of it.

On writing asexual characters, I'm just gonna read you something that I wrote for this exact

situation.

Uh, both advice for writing ace characters if you're not ace and for writing ace characters

if you are ace.

And um, I have also written about this a little bit on Tumblr if you wanna take a look on

my blog and look for that post.

It is available.

But here's kind of a rephrasing of some of those things with this specific issue in mind.

Advice for non-ace people writing ace characters: Don't write them like they're similar to you

WITHOUT something.

Don't write them like they're missing a core component of being human or being able to

connect.

Try to think of who a person would be if they grew to their current age without experiencing

what you experience, but without making that some tragic defining feature.

And so this isn't a list of don'ts, write what they DO have.

What are they passionate about?

What sorts of relationships DO they need, and how are they fulfilled?

If they live in a world similar to ours where asexuality is uncommon, it's fine if their

asexuality is brought up sometimes, especially if it's in the form of unwanted advances or

people being curious about how they function.

And it's even okay if you want to write an asexual character who is worried about what

their orientation means or feels broken because of it, as long as the NARRATION does not try

to push that message to the READER and you provide some way of showing that this is a

function of living an ace life in a non-ace world where people are not supportive, NOT

an automatic consequence of being ace.

If you are an ace person writing ace characters: I recommend that unless you are specifically

writing an issue book--meaning your book is ABOUT a person's ace journey--then you should

keep educational speeches to a minimum and pay close attention to whether you're stopping

the plot just to educate about this.

If this is something your character would do, once is enough.

Draw on your own experiences to tell readers what you want them to know about being ace.

Do you want your character to show the audience how being ace doesn't make them miserable?

Show their fulfillment and maybe show them being confused or disturbed that other characters

question how they can be happy that way.

Do you want your character to show the audience how much it hurts when an ace person is fed

damaging messages or is abused for their orientation?

Use a delicate touch here to avoid being overbearing, but it's okay to use your fiction to show

others how the world looks through your eyes and really leave an impression.

You might also consider including more than one ace character so people won't assume any

aspects of your character are universal or more common than they are.

And then finally on asexuality tropes, um, it just so happens that I addressed this exact

thing in a group channel where, um, we were working together with a group of diverse authors

who wanted to talk about their specific experiences, and I made some videos about being an asexual

author and about being an asexual person, and um, I talked about five things that, uh,

are common in fiction with uh, with regard to asexual characters, and also aromantic

characters, and um, I don't believe that I ever released that on this channel, though.

I put it in a couple of other places but some of you who subscribe to me here may still

not have seen that.

So I'm just gonna cut here and show you a slightly edited version of that video, because

I think I was pretty comprehensive in outlining why these tropes are harmful and what you

most commonly see.

Number 1: We're serial killers or at least really creepy.

Well first of all this trope conflates mental illness with violence and that of course is

pretty terrible just by itself.

But the association of mental illness with asexuality and aromanticism is pretty common

in the media.

It suggests that only unstable people are asexual or that maybe lack of sex causes incredible

instability, especially for men.

If you think it's an exaggeration, think about how often "doesn't form relationships" is

used as a trope to make someone seem scary or disturbed.

A weird offshoot of this is the idea that we're basically children and are immature

and obsessed with childish things and that is also billed as creepy or inappropriate.

Lack of sex is often paired with immaturity in media, which circles back around to being

thought a criminal, so there you go.

Number 2: We are abuse victims.

First off, unfortunately some of us are, just like some of any population has experienced

abuse.

This is a very complex issue, but you should never use an abuse history to invalidate someone's

identity.

It suggests asexuality and aromanticism only makes sense as a trauma reaction, something

that happened to us and, just like in life, it's sometimes portrayed in fiction as something

that can be pushed past or healed by a caring partner or therapy.

In a fantasy book Oathbound, there's a character named Tarma who takes a vow and binds herself

to a goddess who makes her magically celibate and it is a reaction to some trauma that she

underwent in the story.

Except for the whole magical origin of her asexuality, this character Tarma is otherwise

a good example of asexuality because she has a relationship with another woman in the story

and it shows how asexual relationships can work.

3: We have hormonal problems.

Some people with hormone variations are asexual and some aren't.

Some people who are asexual have hormone variations and some don't.

The majority of us like any sexual orientation don't happen to be in this situation, but

when it does occur it doesn't make asexuality less valid for that person.

We all have some relationship with our body and nobody tells straight people that they're

not really straight because they're just reacting to their hormones.

Sometimes this misconception about hormones is worked into a plot device, to show how

an asexual person is really suffering from an illness.

House, M.D. did this where they had a couple who claimed to be asexual and one of them

was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor and the other one was lying to spare her husband's

feelings.

Cute.

4: We don't want partners, or we are bad partners.

Some of us don't want a partner and some of us do.

The problem here is the conflation of asexuality and aromanticism and desire for a partner.

Media tends to code every important relationship as either a friendship or a relationship and

all these relationships are always coded as romantic and therefore having a sexual component.

Usually in media people who don't do relationships are portrayed as too obnoxious or unattractive

to deserve them.

And they are often adorably clueless about how most other people's relationships work,

too.

Then if they actually do have a relationship it's shown like some robot version of a real

relationship or as disappointing.

5: We are less human.

Sex, relationships, and desire for those things is portrayed as a universal trait for human

beings.

If you lack them you're missing a vital component of your humanity.

You see sexless aliens and non-humans that laugh at love or human mating practices all

the time.

It's constantly used as a shortcut for seeing the aliens as alien.

You'll also see non-humans, including robots, developing love-like relationships as a sign

that they are learning to be human and really alive.

Even though explicit asexual and aromantic representation in media is still pretty rare,

you can occasionally find good examples in books, on TV, and in webcomics.

But as awareness grows we'll probably be popping up in more media and creators who don't check

for understanding are going to keep making mistakes like these.

If you want to put an asexual or aromantic character in your fiction, authentic representation

will require a nuanced understanding.

So make sure you do your research and don't include tropes like these.

And finally, if you're looking for some stuff with ace characters in them, I'm sure some

other people on the Internet have compiled more up-to-date resources on this by now,

but I did make a video a while back about asexual characters, with some preamble about

why it's really important for us to see ourselves in media, um, and so I'm gonna link to that,

and you can go find that video if you're interested in looking at some fiction that at least includes

asexual people, I make no guarantee that they do it well, um, for the most part I'm including

positive examples, but, uh, I do outline a few reasons why some of them might be a little

questionable or things that popped up in media that uh, you might wanna go into reading or

watching with a grain of salt there, um, because, uh, there's no guarantee that these authors

have done the right thing with these characters.

So um, I'm just gonna wrap it up there, and I hope this has given you some information

that will be useful in your quest for good asexual fiction, and I'll see you guys next

time.

My Best Man Speech for my Brother - Duration: 11:45.

my name is frank and i'm the best man and jon's older brother

um let's see where do i start...

i met jon in the late 80s when i was 4 and he was 0

no i'm just kidding

by a quick show of hands i'm just curious, how many people here think we actually look alike?

so i never thought we looked alike when i was growing up

but recently we were playing with channing's snapchat faceswap filter

and at first i remember thinking, i think something's wrong with the app it's not working

but in fact it was working it's just we still looked like ourselves even with our faces swapped

and on top of that i know that our voices sometimes sound similar

when i was younger sometimes my friends would call the house, before we had cell phones

and i'd hear him answer like "hello?"

"no it's jon"

FRANK. PHONE!

and then i'd hear them tell me, you know,

he sounds exactly like you.

and then on top of that, that's not the only thing, we do have a lot of other similarities as well you know,

we're both usc engineering graduates

fight on

we both love lifting,

and we're both incredibly handsome

both have beautifully chiseled bodies but

if you've ever heard me talk about him before

i always make sure to emphasize just how different we really are

you know how when game developers are developing a new game

sometimes they'll have this trial release period and let people play it for free

they call it a beta version it's a time for people to kind of

discover the bugs and kind of work them out so they can fix them before they release the final retail version

so, no offense to mom and dad, but i realize, that

i think i'm the beta version, and he's the final retail version.

cause honestly I think he's been able to do so many things, much further than i've been able to

like for example in college, in our college fellowship

in KCM i rose to the position of small group leader

but he managed to rise to the office of president, a chinese president

of an organization that has korean in it's name

and that's not the only difference

even in sports, I remember

watching him play high school football

and i remember his senior year in football, troy high school was 9 and 0

going into the last game of the season against la habra

and he was a first team all league cornerback

and i remember the last game, with a couple minutes left in the 4th quarter, Troy was behind

and he managed to get, on a critical third down, the game changing interception

that eventually led Troy to win the game and finish the season with a 10 and 0 perfect season

i remember walking out of the stadium that night, wearing his number 10 jersey

and people were congratulating me for my brother saving the game

but you know, more than just his accomplishments and successes

i think some of the things that touch my heart the most that i see are the strength of his character

and his loyalty and his dedication and love to those around him

and especially the way that he puts the needs of others before his own

i know some of you here may have experienced before where you're going through a tough time

and somehow jon was there for you and through that, it brought you comfort

in 2011

when our dog Minnie <3 died unexpectedly

i remember it was a weeknight and when he found out he got in the car at USC

and drove straight to where we were in Garden Grove so that we could be at the animal hospital

and grieve together as a family

i remember the moment before he got in his car to drive back to school

he clasped my hand

and i just remember in that moment, with no words being exchanged

i felt so much comfort and peace, knowing that he was there for me

but sadly it wasn't always this way

growing up he wasn't always the strong, courageous guy that you see in front of you now

so it was always my place to kind of make sure that i treated him the way that he deserved

i remember when i was 4, pushing him around in a stroller

not understanding why he got to ride in a stroller and i didn't so i pushed him,

right over a curb faceplanting him into the street

later, i remember going to toys r us to buy super soakers

convincing him that the XP125, man, that was the gun that i wanted

but it was so good, that out of the kindness of my heart, i was going to let him have it

and i was going to settle, on the inferior, XP150

and then there were the fights i remember the fights

this one time i was playing x-men vs streetfighter and i lost to the final boss, apocalypse for the tenth time

he made some comment as he walked by and out of anger i struck him in the stomach really hard

he dropped to the ground and i remember standing over him, just kind of

you know, satisfied, oddly satisfied that he was writhing on the ground

and there was another time we had this like, couch sectional pillow set that was pieces of a tiger

there was a tiger's head, tiger's body, i grabbed the tail section

swung it around like a mace over my head, and slapped him right in the face with it

i remember dad was so mad after that fight

because i had hit him in the eye and he couldn't see temporarily and was crying

i remember dad was like, you could have blinded him!

and then i'll never forget the words that my dad said right after that

he said, you only have one brother

at that time i didn't understand what those words meant

of course I only have one brother

and so the fights just kind of continued

but i'll never forget

the incident

that led to the last time we ever fought again

for whatever reason that day, mom and dad had left

and i had some friends over at the house and

again for whatever reason, one of my friends,

got into an argument with Jon

and, which eventually led to a fight

and you probably can't tell now, but Jon was not always as big and as strong as he is now, ok

and so, during the course of that fight, Jon sustained some pretty serious injuries

and i remember, vividly, standing there, watching it all happen

and not doing anything about it

later that night, mom and dad came home, and they saw his injuries

and they demanded to find out what had happened

and i remember, when they found out what happened

dad was furious

he was like how could you have let this happen?

you are supposed to protect him

you're his brother

and i remember in that moment feeling so much shame

and so much anger at myself for not having done anything

that the only thing i could do was weep, turn around, and kick the wall

and it was in that moment of putting my foot through the wall that i understood and i remembered

the words of my dad from years before, that he was my only brother

it was in that moment that i realized

just how much i really loved him

and ever since then i've been so protective, and so loyal to him

and so i remember when he texted me, it was through text message by the way

he told me, that he had a girlfriend

Channing.

i remember thinking, Channing? isn't that that, quiet girl with the beauty mole that never smiles?

outwardly i was happy for them, but inwardly I was afraid

because i wasn't sure and i was always afraid that you weren't gonna be good enough for him

but i just want to tell you tonight that channing,

that i am so happy

i'm so happy that you guys are together

because i know you two are perfect for each other

you know some of my most favorite memories are when you guys are playing around

when i'm in the other room, and you guys are in the living room

and all i hear is you guys watching friends, or making jokes

you know some of my favorite things, like i'm sitting there like washing dishes

you guys don't know this but when you're in the other room sometimes

you sing like taylor swift and justin bieber songs, and i'm just sitting there

with a huge smirk on my face washing dishes

and when you guys practice worship together

those times touch my heart so much

when i hear you guys singing, worshiping God,

when i see you guys on stage, serving together

it brings me so much joy to see you guys doing that together

and like, like Britt said, you know if you've never heard Channing sing

I've always been amazed, at how such a big bold beautiful voice

can come from a package so small

and i love playing Drawful and Fibbage and, all the games we play with you guys

because you know when I see you guys getting the same answer

I'm always so happy I'm like YES, Team CHANATHAN!

and then, when sometimes I get the same answer as you guys I'm like

YES, I'M ON TEAM CHANATHAN!

and so

i've dreaded this day for a long time

i remember thinking before

fearing this day because I was afraid that this would be the day that I would finally lose my brother

but I don't feel that way anymore

i just want to tell you that today i'm so happy

because i'm gaining a sister like you

and so I wanna propose a toast

so, actually it's a toast slash prayer

so i why don't you join me in simultaneously raising your glasses and also bow your heads

to Jon and Channing

may you two continue to seek the face of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ together

and through that may you continue to be drawn closer together

and may you fall more deeply in love with each other than you could have ever possibly imagined.

Cheers

Veteranos urbanos | Caso Cerrado | Telemundo - Duration: 19:40.

Irish playwright Oscar Wilde once said,

<i> "A marriage of convenience</i> <i> is a paradoxical term</i>

<i> because it applies to people</i> <i> who don't belong together."</i>

Hello and welcome to "Case Closed."

And with that quote,

let's see what today's first case is about.

Please bring out the litigants.

I'm going to recover whatever time I have left

with the only family I have left.

Looks can be deceiving.

I refuse to give up my marriage to anyone.

Hello and welcome.

Hello, ma'am.

Hector, you're the plaintiff.

Tell me who Rachel is, why you're suing her,

and what you demand to settle this case.

Rachel is my brother's wife.

I ask that their divorce be annulled.

Their divorce is a sham.

There's no sham here.

Wait a minute.

You mean you want their marriage annulled...

Yes, correct.

You want her marriage to your brother annulled, correct?

Yes, to my brother Omar.

Your brother Omar.

You want their marriage annulled

because you consider it to be a sham.

Yes, ma'am.

Okay... Why?

It's a sham

because he's mentally and physically handicapped.

I have a medical report here stating so.

Okay.

Bring over the medical report.

So you're here to sue your sister-in-law.

Yes.

You want her marriage annulled.

How long have they been married?

Four years.

Wow.

I just found out about it after four years.

Four years! It's legit, ma'am.

Okay.

Give me some background info.

First, let me examine these papers.

Here it states he's mentally handicapped.

"The patient is mentally incompetent.

He suffers from severe depression

as well as stress and anxiety."

Here it says...

How old is your brother?

33.

I see.

Give me the facts.

Okay.

My brother and I are very close.

I was raised in New York and ended up moving upstate.

He was raised down here.

I worked hard to start a life over there.

I live in an apartment.

My brother went down the wrong path.

He got into drugs and gangs... stuff like that.

Last I heard from him, he'd gotten shot four years ago.

He ended up in a wheelchair.

Okay.

So the shooting rendered him handicapped.

Yes.

He was fine before the shooting.

Fully capable.

Yes.

Okay.

After he got shot...

He ended up mentally handicapped

and bound to a wheelchair.

Yes.

Okay.

I came down, got him his own apartment,

and paid his bills.

I wanted him to have his own apartment.

I even got him a live-in nurse

so she could live with him and take care of him.

I pay her $300 a month to take care of him.

Here are the copies of the paychecks.

He's shameless, ma'am.

$300 doesn't cover crap.

Alright, understood.

I assume he receives disability checks.

Jerk.

He does receive disability checks, right?

Yes.

Of course.

So that's $300 in addition to the money

he regularly receives.

Exactly.

Okay, what happened then?

Basically, I left his nurse in charge.

I had to head back to New York

because my family and kids were there.

Right.

I'd call occasionally

and everything seemed to be going well.

I came to visit twice and he seemed fine.

He looked okay.

Yes.

A week ago, I decided to drop by and surprise him

to tell him that the house was ready.

I was even down to take the nurse along.

When I arrived, I didn't see my brother or the nurse.

I found her lying around on the sofa

in practically underwear.

It's my house!

I pay for it!

It's still my house!

I pay the rent!

$300 is chump change.

Hold on.

So you found her there.

You didn't know her.

I didn't.

What happened then?

I asked her where my brother was.

"What's going on here?"

She told me she was his wife.

I didn't even know he'd gotten married!

After putting on the pressure,

she told me he was living with some guy

in a foreclosed home in Opa Locka.

A foreclosed home?

Yes.

That's where he wants to be.

That's where you left him.

He likes it there!

I went looking for him at that house.

I brought a recording of what I saw.

I can't begin to explain all the things I saw.

There's no furniture, no electricity...

Let's see the evidence.

Let's watch the recording.

I mean, it is a foreclosed home.

He likes living there!

That's where she left him.

That's just how we work.

This is none of your business.

This man is mentally handicapped.

How can he like this?

I don't know, ma'am.

This is just the way we work.

He likes being with his friends.

Maybe if he were normal, but he's not mentally stable...

He's fine mentally.

His brother's just making that up.

I'm not making anything up.

This place is practically uninhabitable.

It's empty...

So he doesn't live in the apartment you're paying for.

Nope.

She's the only one living there.

That's on you.

Tell me something. Can your brother talk?

Is he capable of coherent speech?

More or less.

He can talk, but he doesn't understand things.

The shooting really affected him.

Okay.

How do you respond, Rachel?

Ma'am, I don't know why he's suing me.

I have copies of our marriage certificate right here.

This is a sham!

This isn't a sham.

Did you know this man was mentally handicapped?

-No. -Why didn't you know?

When I met him...

Who are you, anyway?

Who's the woman who used to care for him?

-Do you know her? -She's my mother.

Oh, she's your mother.

Yes.

Your mother is his nurse.

Yes.

I'm his caretaker's daughter.

When you first met him,

didn't your mom ever tell you he had issues?

No.

I didn't really know him.

I'd just visit my mom at the apartment

his brother had rented out for him to live in.

When I first met him,

I told him I was an exotic dancer.

Most men treated me like some kind of hooker.

I liked the way he'd talk to me and the way he'd treat me,

because he treated me like a lady.

He's exactly what I needed.

Not a man who treated me like crap.

He needed someone like me to take care of him.

Right, but you're not taking care of him.

He's living with a friend at a foreclosed home!

We fell in love from the moment we met, ma'am.

That was love at first sight!

Do you two have sex?

Of course, ma'am! I give it to him real good.

You give it to him.

He doesn't give it to you.

Nope.

He doesn't do anything.

Not really. He just sits there.

-And you're okay with that? -Delighted!

-Head back to your podium. -Thank you.

Let's t-Come here. break.-Ye.

What does he know?

I guarantee you it isn't his signature.

Look.

Would you say this is his signature?

It looks like it, but I don't think it is.

Well, you're not exactly an expert.

We'll know the truth once he comes out.

Okay. Witnesses?

I brought a witness.

Bring out the defendant's witness.

I hope it's your mother.

It's my mother.

Good. I need to talk to her.

She's the missing link.

That bitch owes me money.

You're the only bitch here.

You bitches are shameless.

$300 my foot.

Don't quit your night job.

Good afternoon.

Good afternoon.

What's your name?

Maidelyn.

Okay, Maidelyn.

You're Rachel's mother, correct?

Yes.

Okay.

Alright, ma'am.

This man hired you about three years ago

to take care of Omar, yes?

Yes.

What were your responsibilities?

Were you a live-in nurse?

I had to live with him and take care of him

as well as feed him and help him out.

Which I did.

Did this man tell you

why his brother was in need of assistance?

Yes.

Did he mention he was mentally handicapped?

Yes or no?

More or less.

I told you.

Mom, tell him we're taking good care of him.

Okay.

Ma'am, when did you stop taking care of Omar?

Omar's an adult.

He goes off with his friends

because he likes drinking and doing drugs.

He likes hanging out.

I don't allow that in my house.

He likes going out,

but after three or four days, he always comes back.

We take care of him and see him for a few days

before he disappears again.

He's worse now! Why's he doing worse?

I don't know.

How can you take care of someone

who's out three or four days of the week?

You don't even know what's going on.

He just likes it.

He's an adult.

He likes to party,

but he also likes spending time with us.

Okay. Next witness!

Let's bring out Omar.

<i> You're shameless.</i>

Nobody can point fingers here.

Who's the shameless one here?

-She is! <i> -No, he is!</i>

There's more than one shameless person here.

Here he is, ma'am... my sweetie pie.

I know you.

Isn't that right?

I know you.

We met years ago.

Do you remember?

Do you?

I remember.

You've been through even more things since we met.

Yes.

You were already in a wheelchair when we met.

Yes, but I could move more.

Now you move less.

Yes.

Tell me something.

Did you sign that marriage license?

Yes.

How?

With my hand.

I have splints that help me sign.

Do you use special pens?

I have a pen that grips my hand.

So you two are married, right?

Legally.

But you don't live with her.

You're out living somewhere else.

Thing is, I can't do what I want to do back home.

I can do whatever I want around my friend.

<i> There's no drinking or</i> <i> smoking in my house.</i>

<i> Liar...</i>

She doesn't like drinking, but I do.

I'll go crazy if I stay home.

Doesn't all that alcohol mess with your medications?

I'd imagine so.

Why'd you marry her, though?

I like her.

She does the things I like.

You're never even with him!

We'd go nuts if we always lived together.

Don't meddle.

He lives life...

So your brother lives a boring life

and you don't want to be boring.

<i> I do things the right way.</i>

-Hello. -Hi.

What's your name?

Jason.

Who are you?

I'm his friend.

She disappears sometimes too.

She'll go missing for like three or four days.

She disappears too?

I'm out working to provide for my husband!

It's a mission trying to help him out!

People...

Let me tell you something.

If you're 33 years old

and you chose to live the life Omar chose for himself...

A life of crime, partying, and violence.

And suddenly you're bound

to a wheelchair the rest of your life...

what do you have to live for?

Sure, you can't stop living,

but what more can you aspire to?

You figure she's the best partner out there

despite the fact that she abandons you...

I don't abandon him, ma'am. I have to work.

"What can I do? I'm a stripper.

That's the best I can do."

Right?

What more could I want?

Exactly. You've hit the jackpot.

What'd you think?

Being with a handicapped partner isn't easy.

I've been with him for three years

and I'm still in love with him.

Your definition of love is fairly loose.

It's love on your terms.

This isn't a relationship.

You have your apartment,

you disappear for days and hook up with other men.

You do whatever you want and still say you're with Omar.

This is a mess.

This isn't a marriage or a serious relationship.

Come on.

Who are you trying to fool? Not me.

We like each other, ma'am.

Yeah, right. I'm sure.

Don't believe me.

Bring out my experts.

You're just jealous!

At least he has someone. You have no one.

Slut.

Mr. Leal.

Good afternoon, ma'am.

Now, I met Omar years ago.

I met him on an episode of "Sala de Parejas"

Here he is again, mixed up in something else.

Did you get a chance to see his medical report?

Yes.

You did. Okay.

Do you consider their marriage a valid one?

It says right here he's mentally incompetent,

but he's capable of conversation.

That's the main issue here.

Based off the report,

he's legally incompetent to sign any contract.

Marriage is a contract.

Right.

As such, their marriage can be considered void ab initio.

From the beginning.

If he managed to sign that contract,

we're looking at a potential divorce

or an annulment on the basis of fraud.

She may want to take advantage

of his disability benefits.

Take advantage?

This marriage can be annulled.

Who manages his disability check?

I do.

I forward it to his nurse.

I don't know how she ended up with the money.

I manage the money he receives from the government.

What percentage of that do you ultimately receive, Omar?

It disappears!

Oh, it disappears.

So you don't receive any of that money.

I use it to buy his medicine!

She buys my medicine and my food.

We have everything we need.

He's not well! He's crazy!

Silence! Quiet please!

What's your take on this?

Help me out here.

From an emotional standpoint...

Don't start yelling at each other.

Please continue.

From an emotional standpoint...

I mean, we're questioning

whether or not he truly is incompetent.

However, he may be suffering from...

Posttraumatic stress disorder.

Exactly.

That doesn't necessarily mean

he isn't capable of making his own decisions.

Obviously, this marriage is rather unusual.

Both parties are out of the norm.

Who am I to dictate

how married couples should behave?

They have sex, they're intimate,

I mean, they don't want a divorce.

His brother wants them to get a divorce.

If I deem them capable of living out their married life

as they so desire...

We understand each other.

Why should I meddle?

He has everything he needs.

<i> My ruling.</i>

What he needs is direction!

-Hector. -Yes, ma'am?

You're a good brother.

I try.

You're a good brother. I've g

has established his own life.

He established it a while back.

You have your own life.

He's in a wheelchair!

This is the life he chose.

It's the life destiny had in store for him.

It was fate.

He had a hand in it, too.

He accepts his reality.

You'll just have to accept it as well.

Come visit him. Spend time with him.

It's great to show each other brotherly support,

but let him live his life.

Your claim is denied.

It's final. Case closed.

Thanks, ma'am!

We're going to take a quick break.

We'll be back with more "Case Closed."

Bye, Omar!

Let this be the last time I see you here!

[MV] SURAN(수란) _ Winter Bird(겨울새) REACTION - Duration: 5:23.

Hi guys, it's Lola from reacttothek and today I'm going to be reacting to Suran's Winter

Bird.

I really loved her voice in Agust D's 'So Far Away'...so let's go check this one out.

Already the piano is already making me...*sigh*.

Very airy, very breathy.

It seems like she has some type of twang in her voice...like a particular thing at the

end of the phrases.

Nice ad lib.

Ah, and breathing in between words...that's also another stylistic choice.

That's beautiful falsetto...

and it's a little nasally too.

She modulates really nicely from her chest voice to her head voice.

It's really beautiful.

And it's pretty sparse there's only piano that I hear, so far.

But it's nice and the filter [on the video] makes it seem nostalgic, melancholic.

That's a nice effect right there. There are some strings right there too.

And the piano is building...thats pretty.

It's so nice.

It's just really relaxing

and the place they chose to shot at is so pretty.

I can't get over that beautiful tone and her high voice.

You can tell that she goes back to her chest voice right there but for milliseconds almost.

That's a beautiful little run there.

She's a very nice, I think, soprano or mezzo?

That was real, really pretty.

And it made me melancholic too, so I think that was very effective.

Her singing was..it matched up really well with the video and with the music, of course.

There were not too many instruments in there, at least, not that I heard.

I heard some piano and sometimes strings but even so, I think it felt really full.

Her voice with all of its runs, its adlibs, the modulations between chest voice to head

voice, they all fit really well.

I liked this song, it seems like a song that I'd play just for relaxing or anything like that.

Thanks for watching, see you!

Understanding Vata Constitution - Duration: 5:57.

Hello everybody, my name is Dr. Anup Mulakaluri and in this video series we'll be

looking at Ayurvedic Constitution called the Prakriti.

As a science of natural medicine, Ayurveda seeks to teach us

to understand our nature. Ayurveda does this by giving us the scientific language to help us

recognize ourselves as part and product of nature.

This is the language of the 5 basic elements.

These elements can be observed in nature.

Their qualities, activities, and composition in our bodies

gives rise to the physiological function, as well as our emotional and behavioral tendencies

That is what defines our constitution.

In this video on Ayurvedic Constitution, we will look at the VATA constitution.

Among the five basic elements: Space, Air, Fire, Earth, and Water.

Vata is composed of the two most elusive elements: Space and Air.

Qualities of these elements are inherited in the Vata dosha and expressed distinctly

in a person with a Vata pre-dominant constitution.

Qualities of Space are subtle, as space is a passive element.

Like the space that's around us, this element functions in the background.

Consider how you feels in a specific space: Do you feel comfortable,

crowded, excited, confused, anxious, fearful, or peaceful?

Do you prefer to have a lot of space or prefer to be close with people?

Space is the container, within which we experience life.

Defining qualities of the Space element are: Clear, subtle, light, soft, immeseasurable, and expansive.

Last two qualities can be observed and experienced at the universal level of space.

The Air element is the active element. The qualities of the air element can be observed

in the phenomenon of wind, which is mobile and variable.

Wind moves constantly, at variable speeds, in variable directions, at variable temperature,

and also varies in the way it feels on our skin.

On a windy day, we can experience drying of our skin and our lips; this is attributes to the

drying qualities of the wind. Air is also light. A balloon that is filled with air is not much heavier

than a baloon without air.

The cold qualities of the Air element can be experienced on a cold day where

wind can make a chilly day even chillier by the wind-chill factor.

The Air element also has rough qualities; an erosive quality that has shaped mountains,

monuments, and natural landscapes on the Earth from the beginning of time.

Combination of the qualities of Space and Air elements express as Vata Dosha.

On an individual level, a pre-dominantly Vata constitution express the following qualities:

lightness, subtlety, mobility, variability, dryness, roughness, boldness, and instability.

These qualities of the Vata Dosha are expressed on an individual level in the form of:

dry and course hair; dry, rough or flaking skin; dryness of the eyes;

dry, brittle nails; and even dryness of the bowels, which leads to a tendency of constipation.

Individuals have a thin and a light body frame.

Their sleep is also light. Due to the activity of the mind, they can have difficulty

falling asleep and staying asleep.

The mobile and variable activity of the mind causes the Vata individual to think fast and act fast

Often seeming impulsive, they have a hard time staying with on task

and tend to enjoy variability and variety in their day-to-day life.

Vata individuals are also very creative and imaginative.

As they exist so much in the thought realm, they can become easily ungrounded and confused.

They can be worriers, who can become easily fearful and anxious.

On the other hand, Vata individuals are quite excitable and exciting people.

They are the creative artists, visionaries, who can bring forward the visions we can only imagine

when they are in balance.

Questions and comments can be sent to www.ayurvedicseattle.com

Thank you and wishing you the best of health!!

So um, I'm just gonna wrap it up there, and I hope this has given you some information

that will be useful in your quest for good asexual fiction, and I'll see you guys next

time.
