Youtube daily report Apr 15 2017

Dear people of Lithuania,

The time of waiting has ended and the time of light and spring has come.

Spring at every step.

Whatever the spring is, we always call it beautiful

because it brings back green colours, sounds of birds, bursting buds and the first blossom.

We have welcomed the Holly Week in anticipation trusting in the power of resurrection

and believing in miracles in our hearts and around us:

We are freeing ourselves from the freeze of exclusion and alienation and taking in a fresh breath of new life.

We are sowing a young seed of our unity

while rejoicing over the documented proof of the centenary of our nation and our state.

I know the people's expectations and I believe in the future.

Let me wish you that your expectations come true.

Happy Easter to all the people of Lithuania!

May faith and the light of spring fill your lives.

How Does Icing an Injury Help? - Duration: 2:26.

Probably one of the first things you do when you bang your knee or twist your ankle is

put an ice pack on the injury.

You probably know that that can help reduce swelling and dull the pain, especially within

the first couple days after you get hurt.

But why interfere with the way your body's trying to naturally heal itself?

When you pull a muscle, stretch a tendon, or burst a blood vessel, that triggers your

body's inflammatory response: it sends a bunch of blood cells and fluids to repair

the damage.

And that is an important part of the healing process.

The problem is, your inflammatory response tends to overreact.

If you've ever gotten hay fever in the spring and felt like your eyes and nose were going

to melt off your face, you know what I'm talkin' about.

Too much swelling can cause a bit of a traffic jam with all the fluids rushing in, which

can cut off nearby cells from getting the oxygen they need to keep functioning.

And that is where icing an injury, also known as cryotherapy, can help.

When you put ice on a part of your body that's inflamed, the tissues and blood vessels contract,

limiting how much blood and other fluids can get to the area and bringing down the swelling.

Cold can also slow down the cells' metabolism, so they use the oxygen they do have more slowly

and don't die.

If it's at a joint, like if you sprain your ankle, you'll be able to use it a little

more, and maybe do some rehab exercises.

But if you leave an ice pack on for too long, it can actually do more harm than good.

If the injury site gets too cold, your body will flood in even more blood cells and fluids,

trying to warm it back up, even if you're still using the ice pack.

This renewed blood flow is called hyperemia, and it's why doctors say it's generally

good to limit cryotherapy to about 10 or 20 minutes at a time.

After that, let your injury warm up for 10 minutes or so before putting the ice pack

back on.

Ice can also reduce the pain you feel.

When they get cold, the ions that carry messages around between neurons have a harder time

getting around, reducing the pain signals going to your brain.

Also reducing lots of other kinds of signals, which is what numbness is.

So when you get hurt, it is important to let your body do its thing and heal.

Ice just helps make sure your body doesn't overreact, and keeps you a little more comfortable

in the process.

Thanks to all of our Patreon patrons who keep these answers coming, and for more on the

science of injuries, check out this other SciShow video where Michael explains why papercuts

hurt so dang much.

Prince Harry's ex Chelsy Davy opens up on 'scary' and 'uncomfortable' romance in public eye. - Duration: 2:07.

Prince Harry's ex Chelsy Davy opens up on 'scary' and 'uncomfortable' romance in public

eye.

The blonde beauty has admitted she found it hard to cope with their relationship playing

out in front of the world.

Chelsy Davy has revealed her relationship with Prince Harry was "full on".

The 30-year-old blonde beauty had a seven-year on/off romance with the red-headed royal after

meeting him in 2004 and she has now opened up on what life was like as the girlfriend

of the British royal - the grandson of Queen Elizabeth.

Chelsy admits she "couldn't cope" with the constant attention of the paparazzi.

Speaking in an interview with The Times, she said: "It was tough.

It was so full on: crazy and scary and uncomfortable.

I found it very difficult when it was bad.

I couldn't cope.

I was young, I was trying to be a normal kid and it was horrible.

"I like to enjoy life, but I like to achieve things and am very ambitious.

They can be forgiven for not knowing I was working really hard, I didn't shout about

it.

"If you go out once, they take a picture, but they don't take a picture of you going

to work every morning, it's of you falling out of a nightclub at 4am."

And the entrepreneur - who was a solicitor at Allen and Overy - has admitted she is glad

she fled the country and returned to her home country Zimbabwe to escape the cameras

She explained: "It was nuts.

That's also why I wanted to go back to Africa.

Now, it's calm, now it's fine.

Chelsy - who is set to launch her African-based luxury jewellery brand Aya - hasn't ruled

out rekindling a platonic friendship with her former beau since their split five years

ago.

Speaking about remaining friends with Harry, she said: "I have no idea."

How to Play Bb Major Scale on Trumpet - Duration: 2:55.

What up y'all!

In this video, I gonna show you how to play the B-flat major scale.

We're gonna go two notes at a time.

I'm gonna play first and then we're gonna play it together.

So, get that horn out of the case and let's get started.

Our first two notes are B-flat and C. Bb is played "1" and C is played open.

Our next two notes are D and E-flat.

D is played 1 and 3.

Eb is played 2 and 3.

For these two notes, D and E-flat, you wanna kick out the third valve tuning slide, just

a little bit.

So it's easier to center these two pitches.

Now we have F and G. F is played 1.

G is played open.

Now we have, our last two notes.

A and Bb which is just up an octave.

A is played 1 and 2.

Bb is played 1.

Check out the free worksheet that goes along with this major scale series.

During each video you can use this worksheet to help you read and write the notes of each

scale.

Just click the link in the description box below for your free download.

And that's how you play the Bb major scale.

How Maps Shape Worlds (VEDA Day 15 ) [CC] - Duration: 3:25.

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life.

So one of the most important parts of being a fantasy author is building the world my

stories take place in, and a huge part of that is creating the actual physical world

itself in the form of a map.

I first created the map of Underrealm in its very general form way back in 2014 when I

wrote Nightblade, but it was a very crude thing.

And I'm currently engaged in a project, which will take me a very long time, I'm

sure, of turning that into an actual professional map that I can print out as a poster and put

in my books and that sort of thing.

Creating a real map has given me an extreme respect for cartographers and the painstaking

work they have to go through.

I didn't realize until I started studying real-world maps just HOW MUCH detail goes

into every square inch of space.

And that's because there's SO MUCH out there in the real world.

In fact, there's so much detail in every acre of the real world that it's impossible

to represent it all ON your map.

And it seems to me that that's one of the primary duties of the cartographer: not figuring

out how to include EVERYTHING on your map, which you just can't do, but determining

what to EXCLUDE from your map while still having it be a useful resource that will help

people understand what they're looking at.

Take drawing a mountain range, for example.

You just can't draw EVERY single mountain on your map.

You might mark out a couple of distinctive mountains that have special importance, but

generally you just throw down a bunch of mountains to show where the mountain range is.

Forests are the same way—a collection of trees meant to represent the whole, rather

than a depiction of every one of the thousands or hundreds of thousands or the millions of

trees that ACTUALLY exist.

But when you're talking about fiction, and particularly fantasy, the map is not just

a "cool byproduct" of the story.

It's part of the world you're trying to build, and in some cases it has its own, autonomous

influence on the story itself.

The maps of Middle-earth that can be found in the published versions of Lord of the Rings

were based on drawings by Tolkien himself, which were often duplicated and expanded and

given detail by his son, Christopher Tolkien.

I recently read the book The Return of the Shadow, which is an account by Christopher

Tolkien about how his father created The Lord of the Rings.

In it, he discusses several examples where Tolkien would write a portion of the book,

and then draw out the map where that part of the story would take place.

Sometimes, in drawing the map, Tolkien would be struck by an idea that would then cause

him to go back and change the story to reflect what he'd drawn.

The map wasn't just a representation of the book—it was its own creation, as much

a part of the narrative as the words themselves.

And as I'm creating my own maps, I'm coming to realize why.

In designing this world, I'm finding details that I never thought of when it was just words

in my head or on the page.

Sometimes I'm finding contradictions.

For example, I wrote in my books that the King's Road, the longest road in Underrealm,

ran through all the capital cities of all the nine kingdoms.

But as I was drawing the road today, I realized that one of the kingdoms would never put its

capital on the mainland, but would put it out on the huge island, almost a continent

in itself, where that kingdom's king had ruled for centuries.

That's a relatively minor error, and one it's easy to go back and fix in the books.

But I'd never have realized it if I hadn't done this work to create my world in a more

visual, concrete fashion.

The map of Underrealm will take a long time to create, and then I've got all my many

smaller maps of each kingdom and some important cities to draw as well.

It might not even be ready for my readers to see this year.

But it will be having an influence on the books I write long before it's finished.

And I hope it's going to be a tool that makes each book better and better.

That's it for today, Rebel.

Don't forget that my book Shadeborn was re-released yesterday!

You can pick up a copy at the link in the description below.

Thank you so much for watching, and I will see you tomorrow.

Byyye!

BaltimoreLink, Transit Revolution: New Bus Fleet - Duration: 0:43.

- Hi, I'm Donald Mayo.

I'm the Assistant Superintendent to the Bush shop

With the new buses for the BaltimoreLink,

the maintenance is going to be a lot easier.

Well since we're getting a lot of new buses,

we're going to have a lot less down time,

because the buses are new.

They're not wore out.

They're gonna ride a lot better on the street.

They're gonna be nice, pretty and clean.

The typical down-time of our older buses

would be three to four days,

when they come in for maintenance.

With the newer buses, the down-time should be

one to two days.

Gotta keep the buses out and on the street for the public

runnin' the BaltimoreLink.

The buses will be out there on the street,

pickin' up the customers with great customer service.

Where did you come up with the name Fingtam Languages?

This is a username I've been using online since 2006.

That's when I was 16 years old.

And I went on a mission trip with my church to Hungary.

It was my first time to a country that didn't speak English.

I was 16 years old, a teenage male.

The first thing I did when I got off the plane was to...

Well, when I met my translator, he comes up and he says, "Hi, my name is Jon.

I'm gonna be your translator.

If you have any questions about Hungarian, if you need me to translate something, if

you have any needs at all about the language, I'm your man and I can help you.

So, being a sixteen year old male, the first thing, obviously, that I wanted to learn was...

I mean, most people, when they get to a new country, they want to learn how to order a

beer.

Right?

Well, I don't drink.

So I didn't have to worry about that.

They might want to know how to ask where the bathroom is.

Well, I just use the bathroom wherever I want.

I'll pee in a bottle.

I don't care.

So I don't gotta learn that.

The most important thing for me to learn at that time as a teenage male was how to say

"I farted".

So I asked him how to say, "I farted", and that is the hungarian word "Fingtam".

So, equipped with this knowledge, I started to go all around the country of Hungary saying,

"Fingtam".

I knew how to say two things.

I knew how to say, "Hello", and "I farted."

So, whenever I would meet someone, they would introduce themselves, and they would tell

me their name, and I would say, "Hello.

I farted."

And people would ask me what my name was.

And I would tell them, "My name is Fingtam", even though it wasn't.

And I got some sidewalk chalk, and I would write "Fingtam" on the sidewalk.

And I went to a custom t-shirt shop, and while I was in Hungary, I got them to create me

a shirt that said Fingtam across the chest.

And I wore my Fingtam shirt everywhere I went.

And people would point and laugh, but the point is that I would use this word all the

time.

It's one of the two words that I knew how to say in Hungarian.

And I just was not afraid to say it.

And I'm telling you, if you're learning a language, this is the secret to learning the

language.

You have to be bold.

You cannot be timid about practicing that language.

Even if you're just beginning.

If you only know two words in that language, use those two words and say them to everyone

that you meet that speaks the language.

You have to practice in every opportunity.

And if you do this, and you're not scared.

You're not timid, but you're bold, and you practice bold, you're gonna start learning

really quick, and it's gonna be fun.

And you're gonna be enjoying yourself.

You're gonna be experiencing new things that you've never experienced before.

And you're gonna be having a better life.

Maybe you're learning Chinese, and you say, "Oh, I don't know how to pronounce the tones

right.

I speak terrible Chinese.

They're gonna laugh at me.

They're gonna make fun of me.

They're gonna think I'm an idiot."

Embrace it!

Who cares?

If that's what you do, then you have to run with it.

And if you say something really stupid in their language, they're probably gonna laugh

at you.

But then they're gonna teach you what you said wrong, and why you said it wrong.

And then you're gonna laugh, and they're gonna laugh.

Everyone's gonna laugh, and then you're gonna have a great story about when you were learning

that language.

If you're gonna make mistakes, make mistakes all the way.

Go big or go home.

Make some BOLD mistakes, and embrace them.

You have to love the mistakes.

You have to love your screw ups.

Maybe you're just starting to learn the language, and that's fine.

If you only know two words in the language, say those two words to everyone you meet.

I only knew how to say, "Hello.

I farted", and I went around the whole country of Hungary telling everyone that I had farted.

To this day, when I meet hungarian people, and they see my username, they comment on

it, "Hey, do you know what your name means in Hungarian?", and I say, "Yeah.

It means, I farted".

And then we have a good laugh, and we become better friends that way.

So you're really gonna miss out on life, and on language learning if you're too scared

to practice, or if you're too scared of making mistakes, or if you're too scared of saying

something uncomfortable in the language.

You have to embrace it.

You have to run with it.

So, that's all I have for you guys today.

I hope you like the story, and that it helped motivate you and encourage you to practice

your language.

I think I'm gonna start doing a story every Saturday.

you guys a good laugh.
