ICE CREAM: 5 Big Differences in Germany & USA - Duration: 8:41.

The ice cream shops are once again open in Germany after being closed for the winter!

So let's talk about ice cream differences in Germany and the U.S.

Hey everyone! I'm Dana and you're watching Wanted Adventure Living Abroad.

Last summer I put out a video trying several different delicious kinds of ice cream around Munich.

That was definitely a fun video to film.

And about a year ago I also made a video about soda, popcorn, pizza, chips and ice cream,

where I mentioned a few Germany versus USA ice cream differences.

Both of those videos linked in the little I in the corner and down in the description.

But today I have a few new ice cream differences that I don't believe I mentioned in either

of those two other ice cream videos.

And the first one has to do with what I mentioned at the beginning of this video: ice cream

stores in Germany reopening after the winter.

In Germany a huge chunk of the ice cream places close for the winter, whereas in the U.S.

as far as I have experienced it, a lot of ice cream places stay open throughout the winter.

Some might close, but it doesn't seem to me to be as big of a percentage as the really

huge percentage of ice cream places that close here in Germany over the winter.

Here in Germany it feels to me like it's pretty much a given...it's just kind of

assumed that ice cream places will close during the winter and if you happen to see an ice

cream place open here in the winter in Germany it's like: whoa that place is selling

ice cream in the winter!? Wow! But now let's get on to the sweet stuff. The ice cream itself.

Starting with something called Spaghetti Eis in Germany.

Now spaghetti ice cream is not a thing that is unique to Germany alone, I have seen this

kind of ice cream sundae in other ice cream shops in other European countries too, but

I had never seen or heard of it before moving to Europe.

So I had never seen it in the U.S., and I was actually never really brave enough to

buy it for myself because I thought like...Spaghetti ice cream -- is that going to be cold spaghetti

with ice cream on top?

Then one summer Stefan ordered a Spaghetti Eis and I was pleasantly surprised to find

out that no, no actual spaghetti noodles are involved in this sundae.

But rather the ice cream is formed into little spaghetti like strings, and the sauce is strawberry

sauce, not marinara sauce, and there's usually some whipped cream in there as well.

Which brings me right into the next difference, whipped cream on ice cream sundaes.

In both the U.S. and Germany whipped cream on ice cream is a thing, but in the U.S. all

the whipped cream that I've ever had has been pretty dang sweet.

Most of the time as sweet or maybe even a little sweeter than the ice cream itself.

Whereas in Germany all the whipped cream I've ever tasted on ice cream here has been considerably

less sweet than the ice cream itself.

And at first I was like: hey, this whipped cream is not sweet enough!

But now I've actually come to really enjoy it.

It provides a kind of balance to the sweetness of the ice cream sundae and doesn't run the

risk overpowering the whole flavor.

But now a quick hop back into the ice cream shop to actually order your ice cream.

And there's another difference here too.

In the U.S. from my experience it's pretty common to be offered a taste test of one or

a few different ice cream flavors before finally choosing what you want to get.

At every ice cream place that I've been to in the U.S. you can ask to try a couple

different ice cream flavors, or the people working at the ice cream place will even offer,

like: "would you like to try something?" if they see I'm struggling to figure out what I want.

In Germany so far I have never experienced that.

As far as I know that's just not really a thing here.

I have stood here in Germany in ice cream shops mulling over what flavor to get for

a while and nobody has ever offered me a taste test before purchase.

And my last big difference for this video is that getting ice cream in the summer is

really popular in Germany.

Like, ice cream in general is also a pretty popular thing in the U.S., and there are lots

of ice creams that you can buy in the supermarkets in the U.S.

So, yes, ice cream itself is popular in the U.S.

But I feel going to an ice cream shop and getting some ice cream is much more popular

and a more of a common thing for adults to do here in Germany in the summer than in the U.S.

Germans, for example, can be known to go get some ice cream from an ice cream shop during

their lunch break just in the middle of the week.

I can still remember my first summer in Europe, I was living in Prague, dating Stefan who

lived in Munich and he wrote me one afternoon telling me that during the lunch break he

and his colleagues, like around 5 or 6 people, had all gone out for ice cream together.

And I was like: oh cool, was it someone's birthday? Or, you know, what are you guys celebrating?

No, nothing. No celebration.

They just all went out and got ice cream from the ice cream place down the street

on their lunch break. And at first I thought like, well, I mean, maybe it was just them.

But then I moved to Germany and once the summer rolled around I noticed lots and lots of people

getting ice cream during their lunch break.

People wearing suits here in Germany walking past me on the sidewalk in the afternoon eating

ice cream from an ice cream cone or from a cup that they had gotten from the ice cream place.

As far as I know that is not a common thing in the U.S. I don't think I ever went out

and got ice cream on my lunch break with or without my co-workers in the U.S.

For me in the U.S. going to an ice cream parlor was something I did as a kid and then as an

adult maybe for example on a date in the evening, or when on vacation.

But not just like on a Tuesday during my lunch break with my co-workers.

So my question for you is: do you eat ice cream on your lunch break?

And do you prefer ice cream in a cone or in a cup, or are you not a fan or ice cream at all?

Is street photography illegal in Germany? - Duration: 5:18.

I wasn't going to say anything about this subject because it's incredibly complex,

I'm not a legal expert, and nobody seems to really understand it.

But since I've started seeing articles about how it's going to be illegal

to take photos in public in Germany after 25th May,

perhaps I should.

I mean, this is going to worry a lot of tourists.

Not only that, but if true, it means I won't be able to make any more of my travel videos.

I'll have to spend the rest of my YouTube career sitting in front of the camera

talking about places that I've been to.

And put the blind down on the window behind me.

This is about something called the General Data Protection Regulation,

a European Union directive.

Member states have to harmonize their individual data protection laws,

which on the face of it is not a bad idea.

Any company or organization that collects and processes data about people

must conform to the new rules.

Which is a pain for them, because it means they have to update all their computer systems

and retrain all their staff.

That's why, if you live in the EU, you'll have noticed recently

social media sites asking you to confirm

that you have read their updated terms and privacy policies.

What does this have to do with photography and video?

Well, a modern digital camera doesn't just take a photograph.

It also includes information about the date, time and GPS coordinates.

Using this information, which is stored as part of the data file itself,

it becomes possible to tell

exactly who was at that exact place at that exact time.

That means digital photography is a form of data collection,

so photographers are subject to the same rules.

Take a photograph that happens to have some people in it and upload it to Facebook,

and you're breaking the law —

unless you have the permission of everybody in the photo.

This is obviously a problem for free speech,

and so the directive comes with several clauses

which national governments are free to change or to override,

in the interests of free speech.

And most governments have done so. One government that hasn't...

...is Germany's.

So this regulation has come into force in Germany in its pure, undiluted form.

I say "has", because it has in fact been in force for the past two years.

It's just that member states have had until now to actually implement it.

So, is street photography now illegal?

OK, look: I have read countless articles and blog posts about this,

and many of them seem to me to be unnecessarily alarmist.

According to them it is now really, really illegal

unless you get the written permission of literally everybody who happens to be in the photo.

Well, technically, maybe.

In actual fact: no. Honestly, no.

Although I should reiterate at this point that I'm not a legal expert

and can only give my opinion.

First of all, you are not going to be arrested

if you take out your phone and point it in the general direction

of somewhere where some people are.

That's not how this is going to work.

Instead, somebody will have to actually file a complaint

alleging that you violated their privacy,

but that in fact has always been the case.

These new rules do make it easier to get privacy-invading material off the web,

but I doubt that you'll find a German court prepared to rule

that this constitutes a violation of anyone's privacy.

It's like the debate about dashcams.

The problem wasn't the dashcams, and dashcams were never ruled illegal.

The problem was the misuse of dashcams

to publicly name and shame specific individuals

in a case of vigilante justice.

Incidentally, the most alarmist of these articles

mourned the loss of freedom of panorama.

But that's a telltale sign the writer doesn't know what he's talking about:

freedom of panorama has nothing to do with data protection.

It's about copyright infringement.

Freedom of panorama is completely irrelevant here,

and totally unaffected.

In summary, I am a little nervous about this,

but I'm not losing sleep over it.

Talk about outlawing street photography is, I think, nonsense.

It's unfortunate the German government has spent the last two years doing nothing about this,

and we'll have to wait for the first court cases to come in before we have any clarity on the issue.

As for me, I'm going to continue making my videos.

If it helps, my camera doesn't record GPS coordinates,

and the process of rendering removes all the timestamps.

Do you prepare meals ahead of time and freeze them?"

Well George, hell no, I'm not eating TV dinners or frozen food.

Why would I do that?

Yeah, I get grandma to cook up a big pot of spaghetti.

No, no, it doesn't happen.

Don't do that. That would probably be a good idea actually.

I might think about it.

No, anyway no we don't do that.

What we do is we go to the supermarket, Simon and myself, and we just buy fresh fruit and

veg, as much as we can.

Now there's a lot of tricks involved in the storage of that fresh fruit and veg.

I'll tell you what, you've got to have 12-volt refrigeration.

There's no doubt about it.

The 12-volt refrigeration, gone are the old days of the esky and the icebox and all that.

And wet sandwiches and the bag of chicken half full of water.

Those days are gone.

12-volt refrigeration, which means you can store fresh fruit and veg for longer periods

in your truck in the hot temperatures up north or the cold climate down south.

So realistically I've got to sort of buy twice as much food for Simon and half as much for me.

There you go.

But what we do is we try and cook up some fresh veggies every night.

So veggies, either it's a piece of meat or a piece of salmon.

Oh we're big fans of salmon, and we're big fans of catching our own fish and eating that as well.

And then every now and again we'll cook up a damper.

Chuck it in the camp oven, and we'll have that at the end of our meal as well, so it's

sort of like a bit of a treat.

And then what you do is you get that damper and then you use the rest of it--you wrap

it up in a tea towel and you have it next day for smoko with a bit of jam.

How good's that?

So yeah, no we cook everything out in the field.

We've got it down to a fine art.

We can rock into a supermarket.

We know exactly what we want... potatoes, pumpkin, we need broccoli.

We don't use corn anymore, because it's a huge, huge cob of corn.

And then it's got all these little bits of yellow stuff on the outside, and you throw it away.

It's too bulky.

I do not be spending that much time in the bush with damaged tyres, I kid you not.

The tyre that we use is the MTZ P3, so it's a Mickey Thompson Mud Terrain.

Tough as nails.

I tell you, I do use a plug kit.

So I've got a plug kit because the punctures I get is a bloody roofing screw in my tyre

driving around the car park at Woolworths.

So we don't actually get the punctures and shredded tires that you get with--I don't

know what sort of brand of tyre you use--but we don't get it.

So there you go, mate.

Yes, yes and I don't know whether you watched this episode.

I was in the Kimberley, and we were on this absolute painful track.

Like it was an awesome track, but it was tough going.

And I was rolling these big boulders away out of the trailer from this big jump up that

we were going up, and I got a hernia.

Now luckily it wasn't as bad as it could have been, because they do say that when a hernia

pops out, pushing through the the wall and muscle of your gut.

So it's your gut popping out through the muscle, does that make sense?

I'm not a doctor. Anyway you gut pops out through your muscle, and you've got this big

bulge out here.

They reckon if it gets strangulated--so that means if if the muscle closes in around it,

clamps the wall, the lining of your gut--and then next thing you know you've cut off your gut.

That bit dies, because you're out in the bush and you can't get medical help.

And it's all bad.

Now I was extremely paranoid that that was going to happen.

So I made sure that when I slept at night, I slept and I pushed it back in and all this

sort of stuff.

So if you could say we've been badly hurt that would be the one time where I was probably

worried the most.

I'm pretty sure I didn't ring the wife and tell her until it was all good, because we

were literally in the middle of nowhere.

It would have been a bit of a mission to get me out to the hospital on that one.

But it was all good.

I got the operation when I came home, and now I'm a hundred percent.

So there you go, Robyn. Thank you.

Apart from tires, what would be the first upgrade you would do?"

Andrew, this is a very common question asked of myself and Simon all the time,

especially at the 4x4 shows.

Okay so you've got tyres on your virtually stock 4-wheel drive.

The second thing I would go with is suspension.

The third thing, I would go with frontal protection.

Why?

Well suspension... when you're up on those rough, rattly, dirt roads, you're carrying

everything including this kitchen sink as per normal.

You're gonna need good suspension otherwise your car is going to rattle to bits.

So don't be afraid to get a little bit of lift in your car.

Get some heavier springs because of the load that you're carrying.

Frontal protection. Why frontal protection?

Here's a scenario.

I've got the family in the car, packed 'em up.

We're going on our two-week trip to the top of Cape York, because this is the trip we've

planned for the last three years.

And we've got our 4-wheel drive, and there's no bull bar on the front.

We drive down the road.

Skippy jumps across.

Bang!

Skippy ends up through the radiator, and poor ol Skippy.

But poor old family trip, because I'll tell you what, one: the Skippy could come over

the bonnet and through the windscreen. Remember that.

Two: it'll instantly destroy your radiator, which means the car stops.

Now if you had frontal protection, just a bull bar even.

You're replacing the front bumper.

You've got a bit of impact protection there.

Old Skippy hits the bull bar, deflects off, he's gone, you keep going on your holiday.

There you go. Hope that answers your question.

Kimberley Strassel New questions about FBI source - Duration: 14:42.

House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunez making some progress this week in

his ongoing battle with the Department of Justice over access to classified

documents Nunez and House Oversight chairman trey Gowdy met with Deputy

Attorney General rod Rosenstein and other officials at the Justice

Department Thursday in an attempt to resolve the standoff the Republicans are

seeking access to information that could raise new and perhaps disturbing

questions about surveillance abuses by the FBI during the 2016 campaign our own

Kimberly struggle has been reporting on this issue she joins us now so Kim tell

us what we need to know here about this latest line of inquiry from Devin Nunez

and why did it matter why it matters so here's what we know is based on some

leaking that went on to the Washington Post we know that this inquiry is

focused on a source a top-secret source within that the FBI used it was part of

its Russia collusion investigation this is a u.s. citizen and I think this is

really important Paul because when intelligence operations or the FBI refer

to sources they're not talking about their internal people they're usually

talking about some American in a looks like an average person but who uses

their credentials or their jobs to then gather information and report back and

this suggests the perhaps the FBI had a person who was in fact spying on the

Trump campaign well when you say spying this is you're not talking about

somebody in the Trump campaign you're talking about somebody who was trying to

engage with individuals associated with the Trump campaign people like yeah okay

and and and and and was do we know seeking information we assume on the

Russian probe probably seeking information to report back to the FBI

that would have been used in conjunction with what we now also know is their

electronic eavesdropping that they were doing as well on certain Trump campaign

members like Carter page and the timing matters here as well because we're

talking about 20:16 we're talking about the months of

the summer maybe even we don't know yet this maybe even before that in 2016 and

why is that important it matters because the FBI has dogged lis stuck to this

story that what launched its counterintelligence probe was a tip it

received about a conversation that Trump aide George papadopolis had had they

claimed that they got this tip in July and that soon after they started this

counterintelligence probe but if it were to be the case that they had a spy who

was functioning potentially prior to that date then that would mean something

else inspired them to do it and that they haven't been straight okay now I

have to ask him because you put it in your column you said you think you know

the name of who this individual this source is why have you decided for small

if nobody in intelligence and in government told you how did you find how

do you think you know and why aren't you publishing it well there's a lot of

other reporting out there about individuals who interacted with the

Trump campaign we've got some very good hints from the leakers themselves

probably from law enforcement telling us about that this is a source US citizen

giving some hints that they might have ties to overseas intelligence agencies

just in to interrupt him that was that these leaks were from the government to

the Washington Post they actually disclosed a heck of a lot of information

to the post in a story that was looked to me anyway to be intended to try to

shut this investigation or this request from the house down yeah and think about

that up until then we knew nothing more than that

congressman Nunez had sent a request about a new line of inquiry but it has

been the Justice Department itself and then people leaking probably presumably

from that side that have given us all the rest of the tips about this person

that they claim to be so worried about maintaining the secrecy of Bill what do

you make of all this yeah I think Kim's absolutely right look first one thing I

think chairman Nunez is going to this fight and the reason he's gonna win

is Congress has a lot of power its disclosure fight disclosure fight first

of all the Justice Department is a creation of Congress if Congress wanted

to they could abolish it you know so it reports there but second if Congress

acts as a body acts together collectively not in as an individual

member they have a lot of power to do this and mr. Nunez is supported by

speaker Ryan by the contenders for the leadership Steve Scalise and mr.

McCarthy so it looks that the Republicans are behind this and as long

as they stick to their guns I think they're I think they're going to get it

it's clear now you know Kim would say I have no inside

information on who this might be but Twitter's full of speculation of a lot

of people so it has to be more than just the identity one would think that

they're trying to keep quiet in other words the circumstances of this

individual what happened where he fits in the puzzle of all this Dan I want to

ask you on a separate subject Michael : the president's lawyer we now have

reports this week that he received money from a lot of from companies and

individuals including 500,000 from a Russian businessman and AT&T to

influence because of presumably Cohen's access to to Trump what do you make of

that yeah well the key word Paul is

presumably presumably his access I mean AT&T just this week fired its Washington

a representative who had paid Cohen's company $600,000 presumably to get some

intelligence on what Donald Trump's thinking might be I would assume about

their takeover of Time Warner right and recall back at the time fall no one

really quite knew what was in Donald Trump's head I mean it was just like

people were in a panic over the Trump presidency and so they're reaching out

to anyone such as Michael Cohen who they thought was close to Donald Trump and

Trump has put distance between him now and Michael Cohen Cohen is involved in

an investigation with US Attorney in in New York and so it's just uh it was a

phenomenon I think of that at that point in time one other question for Kim Kim

quickly who do you thinks gonna win this fight do you think that Nunez is gonna

win this document request and search briefly yeah I do

because as bill said Congress is united and I don't think the FBI has anywhere

and the Department of Justice to hide any more on this all right thank you all

still ahead lawyers for President Trump said to be nearing a decision on whether

the president will sit down with Robert Muller we'll talk to former Attorney

General Michael Mukasey about all this and the legal and

political perils of cooperating or not cooperating with the special counsel

next lawyers advising President Donald Trump in the Russia investigation hoping

to decide whether he'll sit down with Special Counsel Robert Muller mr.

Trump's legal team has long been divided over whether he should agree to an

interview a decision that exposes him to potential legal perils but also could

hasten the end of an investigation that began a year ago this coming week and

has cast a shadow over his presidency Muller's team has reportedly rejected

the idea of the president answering questions in writing and Trump attorney

Rudy Giuliani has said the president does not need to comply with a subpoena

if one is issued Judge Michael Mukasey is the former attorney general of the

United States thank you for coming in again that Judge to be here so the last

time you were we talked about this here you suggested that it would be wise for

the president's team to work out a way to sit down with with Robert Muller's

team to avoid the possibility of a subpoena where he would appear in a

grand jury without his lawyer present right you still agree with that I'm not

sure my own advice tends to change the way that this matter seems sure sure and

to ripen and mature I don't know that there is a way to work out a way for

there's a way to work out a basis for him sitting down with with a special

counsel now that they've rejected the notion of written questions and and

I don't know that the the special counsel is gonna be in a mood to

disclose all the questions in advance well there was a leak with about 40 some

questions that came out I don't know what you thought of those questions but

I looked at him and I thought an awful lot of traps there for anyone even and

especially President Trump and there's right and there's an awful lot that's

off the point the point remember having been whether there was a relationship

between the Trump campaign and Russians attempting to influence the election

that was what supposedly got this started right now what justifies the

special councils existence did they change that did those questions in the

way they were framed many of them in kind of leading ways to get the witness

to ramble is did those with those if you were sitting in the council seat

advising Trump admit change your mind about about sitting down for an

interview for sure if those if those stand as as they were described in the

newspaper absolutely because they are they are entirely focused on questions

relating to purported obstruction and that's that's not that's not what this

is supposed to be about what happens if the president is subpoenaed and

according to Rudy Giuliani resists how does that gonna play out it presumably

would go all the way to the Supreme Court presumably it would go to the

Supreme Court and the the conceptual problem I have is that if the president

is being subpoenaed he's being subpoenaed in connection with an

investigation in which he is the subject right so if that's the case then he's

being asked to cooperate in an investigation to prosecute himself by

the branch of government that he heads that reports a hip correct correct

it's hard to it's hard to see how you get there now Bill Clinton was required

to testify in a civil action right that was the preceded his presidency right

this wall together different this would include presumably official

acts of the president United States certainly the remoter questions dealt

with the firing of Jim Comey for example correct okay which the President had the

constitutional power to do he declined could he send a note that

said mr. Muller article to my powers under article 2 of

the Constitution allowed me to fire mr. Kony end of discussion

well the subpoena wouldn't say what questions are gonna be asked so if the

subpoena said we're inviting you to answer this question and that's the

question then I guess he could respond that way and the question would be

whether a court would sustain that so how do you think it would turn out at

the court I mean it's hard to I don't I mean these are questions we haven't

dealt with but this is this is territory that we haven't explored before and

frankly its territory I hope we never have to explore but I think ultimately a

court would say that that that there the president could not be subpoenaed in the

case like that he could not be subpoenaed by interesting alright let me

turn to this extraordinary display in court cases talk about a case uniquely

like this ie where the question is whether he ultimately gets prosecuted by

the but the branch of government that he heads I just don't think I mean it's one

thing to ask whether he could be impeached for for exercising right

various powers but that's a whole different thing that's a whole different

thing and and and of course that's a political question right the Congress

could decide at any minute that they wanted under the Constitution that they

wanted to peach him for frankly anything they decided was a high crime in

Mississippi precisely they define they define what what a high crime a

misdemeanor is right let me change to the subject of the scope of the inquiry

because it came up in a rather extraordinary session in a courtroom in

involving Paul manna for in the prosecution by Robert Muller's team of

manna Ford and judge TS Ellis said wait a minute here I want to make sure that

your prosecution which involves some money-laundering things involving the

Ukraine not the Russian collusion bit that it's falls within the scope of the

actual mandate you have from the Deputy Attorney General what did you make of

that review what I made of it is that the special counsel is in is in somewhat

deep water here although if push comes to shove I don't think that the court

has authority to either dismiss the case or even to direct the Justice Department

to have somebody else prosecute it really you can say you do send it over

to a US attorney in Virginia I don't think with all due respect and with a

lot of respect at high regard for John Gela so i think is a terrific judge and

and is not a man to be trifled with I don't think that that he has the

authority to pick who prosecutes this on the other hand he ought to be able to

disclose whether this is within the mandate or not at the very least and if

it isn't what happens it may very well be that not much happens

he couldn't dismiss it he could conceivably dismiss it based on

prosecutorial misconduct but that is a standard that is so flexible and is

entirely there's no statute that defines what prosecutors prosecutorial

misconduct is if he found prosecutorial misconduct he conceivably dismiss it for

that reason but it it would have to be something really over overreaching and

very far and I don't think that it that there isn't that it's here in this case

because the indictment itself sets out the factual basis for proceeding here

including documentary evidence and they seem to have a case regarding the the

crimes that they've charged which of course have nothing to do with Russian

coercion thank you thank you judge Mukasey appreciate you being here when

Transfagarasan is a 90 km paved mountain road crossing the southern section of the

Carpathian Mountains of Romania

Known for one of the most scenic drives in the world, this road has endless twists and turns

with a highest elevation of 6,699 feet above sea level

But don't be fooled by its beauty, as this road is also known for one of the most tunnelled

drives with longest tunnel of 884 meters

And to make it even worse, this long tunnel has very few lights and is almost dark

This road is usually covered by snow for most part of the year and opens for the travellers,

only during the summer

Transfagarasan is a challenging attraction for hikers, cyclists, drivers and motorcyclists

as the average speed here can be 40 km/hr

high sheer drops of more than 1000 feet

Passage du Gois is a 4.3 km natural and periodically flooded passage, in the Atlantic coast leading

to the island of Noirmoutier in France

It's flooded twice a day thus making the surface of roads, really slippery!

This passage is only accessible during the low tides, as the passage entirely gets

submerged into water during the high tides, So, you must have an inflatable boat in your

car, whenever you're driving though this road

Also, you must drive slow to avoid skidding though the passage,

And must never park on the pavement, is what really recommended to the drivers

Now finally, it's time to travel through the world's most dangerous road

Now this road in the northern Bolivia is most popularly known as the Road of Death

Yes, you heard it right, Road of Death!

In 2006, estimates revealed that, around 200 to 300 travellers being killed every year

along this road

This road climbs up to 15,260 ft. at La Cumbre Pass,

before descending to 3,900 ft. at the town of Coroico

This road is covered with high fog and low visibility during the rainy season from November

to March

So now, if you're thinking to travel this

road in summer, then beware again, Because it's not even safe during the summer

as rockfalls are common, and dust from vehicles affects the visibility too

What's up guys, it's Cory here.

In this video, I'm going to show you what the Nha Trang night market looks like.

It's not a special market or anything, it's actually quite small.

But, it is a place worth visiting just one time if you happen to walk by it and you have some free time to kill.

It's full of touristy trinkets and over-priced goods, and no actual street food.

Only a small food court that's not worth eating at.

Luckily though, there is some awesome Che dessert at the end of the market.

Ok, I'm going to try some of the Che Buoi.

And Buoi is pomelo.

They kind of like jellify it somehow, I don't know what the process is.

So it kind of removes the bitterness of the pomelo's skin.

And it becomes sweet and a little bit crunchy.

And there's also some mung bean in here.

And coconut milk, sugar, and a lot of ice.

So all of these different things creates this goopy, oozey... I don't know.

But it smells really nice, definitely smells like coconut more than anything else.

I want to get a piece of that buoi, and the mung bean.

And some ice. Alright, here we go.

It's such a nice cool, actually cold

more than cold, really cold, refreshing snack.

stuff on the sidewalks right outside the market, like this.

It's really salty!

I was not expecting the salty.

The peanut is mixed with salt.

It's crushed up and then it's coated on top.

Good coconut. It tastes like some kind of

rice cake jelly, I don't know, it's really hard to place.

But very tasty, and slightly salty.

This lady is just selling squid on a little rack right on the back of her motorcycle.

That is street food... as street as it gets.

While a street food lobster feast sounds like a good idea,

you're probably better off eating lobster in an actual restaurant.

The price will be about the same, and you'll probably get a much fresher lobster.

The more you walk around, the more street food you're going to see, so definitely try everything that looks good.

Alright, I picked up some passion fruit juice.

She did put in a lot of the kind of like sugar syrup stuff in there,

but that helps, you know, to sweeten up the drink to counteract

how sour the passion fruit is by itself.

But yeah, so sugar water, plus the passion fruit,

plus ice, kind of waters it down, and it becomes a really nice refreshing beverage.

Really good.

There's a lot of different fruit vendors, and massage parlors

and restaurants down the alley where our hotel is.

Lot of street food and stuff.

And most of these places cater towards Russian and Chinese tourists.

For example, you can see there's Russian everywhere,

and then up over here you can see there's Chinese.

Yeah, that's like the majority of the tourists you're going to see in Nha Trang.
