Youtube daily report May 4 2018

Paradise has been like a big puzzle and little pieces have fallen into place for me antara

And I'm so grateful that she made the decision to come here

She's

so gentle and she's so caring and

She's opened up completely to me and she's allowed me to do the same

The commitment ceremony is real. It's the realest part of this whole experience, and I can't wait to see

I have no doubts about Sam

Sam is a person I would love to be reared for the rest of my life

You know I'm not just in love with him he's my bestie. Oh

He's hurt

Mr.. Honey

Okay, yeah, I was worried about you

Um

You knew that when Uncle Sam walked through the gates, and I said hi

wait he's standing here today together um I

love that I convey me around you, and you never try to change me with my flaws and all you embrace them and

I'll never try and change you either

I really just where you are you know you're a bit insane like me I

Have so much fun when I'm with you and I can't even count the amount of times you made me cry from laughing so much

But then I can also talk to you

I can also talk to you like an adult, and I thought we can help each other grow into big people

Everyone knows the loud and funny

And often inappropriate side to Sam

but I was lucky enough to find the deep and caring and affectionate side and

then I was lucky enough to fall in love with that and

We have something really special and really rare and you often tell me to stop what we're doing and to take in

Everything because you say it's gotta be in memory, and I wanted to give you this

because

Got so many rings that's not gonna fit, let's just put it there for now

But I wanna give you that

so

you can remember this moment now and

Remember the way, we feel right now. I don't want your way. We feel to be memory. I want that to last forever

Yeah

Well

Sorrow no it's going pretty fast, okay?

I think Emily super nice

That's okay. Okay? Okay? That's okay. You look absolutely beautiful, and I

have loved waiting at cocktail parties fuchsia walk out I

Never thought I would be that type of person to wait like that mm-hmm

Every time I saw you you took my breath away, and you're doing it again

You are incredible

You're everything. I've been looking for for a very long time. I've told you before you tick boxes. I didn't know I had

Our story is funny

From the first moment I saw you

There was a funny look from you, but I didn't feel like she liked me at all

and

then

From that would turn into hi Uncle Sam

And from hi Uncle Sam turned into what are you doing?

And then slowly I started spending more and more time with you

And you really found a way into

my heart

And I came here with my heart

only fractionally open and

very much damaged

And I've missed you

I missed you a lot and that's very strange because I really like my own time to myself

You've been an incredible part of my wife and some might say that's a short amount of time

It's not I feel like I've had the liberty of waking up next to you for years. It just feels that way

I adore you. I'm proud of you. I'm so proud of the woman you are and the woman you're gonna continue to become

And

You take my breath away

all the time just

with a look

I was really scared today, but as soon as I see you. I'm okay

You make me want to shut up more

I want a big more quiet rather than waiting to talk. I want to hear what we got to say

And I found my goal you are my girl for a long time

Sorry

I love you, I do

It might seem crazy, but it's not

I've said it to you a thousand times in my sleep

I don't want to spend the rest of my life with you

You're incredible you married

Bitch you've got big hands your hands bigger than

At the head yeah, you're shaking I'm saying

Oh

This is a dreamer like a dream

I cried a bit look at me a myth

Really pretty oh my god, please can we go right now, please?

Oh

My god wedding a wedding, let's have been page eight. Let's have a bullshitter marry us

I

Said why is that well? Yes, we'll get wise Kira will have to be my maid of honor

Yes

She's part of the reason we're together

I'm dreaming, it's

Such an exciting feeling and I was so excited to just go home with Sam and now like

I'm getting married to him, and we have so much to plan and I'm so happy

I finally did something meaningful with my life. I've definitely found love in paradise and I'm

How We Found 7 Earth-like Planets Around 1 Star - Duration: 8:48.

This episode of Real Engineering is brought to you by Skillshare, home to over 20,000

classes that could teach you a new life skill.

Staring at the sky in awe is one of the few quintessential human experiences.

Gazing into the vast emptiness of space wondering where our place in the universe stands.

For millennia the mystery of these celestial bodies captivated the human mind, seeding

religions and mythical stories.

We couldn't ignore the moon above us, influencing our tides, or the sun, our benevolent provider,

burning in the blue sky.

At night, individual stars melded together into a boundless blanket of glittering light,

until we began to notice patterns in their chaos, guiding us as we explored our world.

These star maps helped us make a monumental discovery, some stars in the sky moved differently

to others.

Wandering through the night sky, planets like ours orbiting our sun.

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, all visible to the naked eye were discovered

this way by ancient babylonian astronomers over 4 thousand years ago.

Later Galileo improved the telescope, allowing him to observe even fainter points in the

sky, invisible to the naked eye.

He discovered Jupiter's moons.

Ganymede, Callisto, Io and Europa and Saturn's moons soon followed mostly discovered by Cassini.

Uranus & Neptune had been observed numerous times through telescopes, but astronomers

continually mistook them them for stationary stars or comets.

It was only when astronomers noticed the circular orbit of Uranus that it was accepted as a

planet.

Then as it's orbit was further examined astronomers noticed deviations, that could

only be caused by a nearby planet, and thus Neptune, our solars systems final planet,

was discovered *on screen joke - Sorry Pluto*

It tooks thousands of years to just discover the planets in our solar system, but in the

last 30 years we have discovered over 3717 planets orbiting stars so far away that we

will never be able to visit them with current technology.

Perhaps the most fascinating planetary system we have discovered is that of Trappist-1,

an ultra-cool dwarf star located 40 light years away from our Sun, which has not only

1 temperate terrestrial planet, but 7.

Each of the planets are rocky and between the size of Earth and Mars.

The star is small and cold compared to ours, but the planets orbit so closely to the star,

closer than mercury orbits the Sun, that they all have the possibility of containing liquid

water.

This is a lot of information about planets that we can't even see directly.

So how do present day astronomers find these, relatively speaking, tiny objects floating

in space?

The first planets discovered orbiting this star were discovered by a Belgian team using

the Trappist-south telescope located high the Chilean mountains.

The team had their telescope trained on the dwarf star waiting for a dimming of it's

light, a tell tale sign of a planet in orbit passing in front of the star, and thus blocking

some of it's light.

But how have we discovered so much about this system, simply by a dimming of light in its

star?

If we calculate the distance to the star, using the parallax method, we can discover

a lot more about the planets passing in front of it.

You can see how the parallax method works right now by holding your thumb in front of

you with one eye open.

Now close that eye and open the other.

Did you notice it appeared to move relative to the background, this is called parallax

and we can use it to measure the distance to a star,

but instead of closing our eyes and staring at the sky, we take measurements of the planets

position from opposite sides of our orbit around the sun.We know the distance between

these two points, and we can measure the change in the stars position relative to distant

stars behind it, giving us the parallax angle, thus we have all the information we need to

calculate the distance to the star using some simply trigonometry.

Now that we know the distance to the star, we can calculate its mass and size by observing

its apparent brightness and temperature observed from earth.

We have models for how stars form, with massive stars being hotter and brighter than smaller

stars, and so by measuring these values we can get a lot of information about the star.

That's how we know Trappist-1 is an ultra-cool dwarf star.

Now that we know more about the star, we discover what we are really interested in.

The planets size, mass, and whether it resides in the goldilocks zone where humans could

survive.

To do that we need to know how far away the planet is from the star.

We do this using Kepler's Third Law which looks like this.

It tells us the orbital period for planet, that's how long it takes to orbit it's

star.

Here G is the Newton's Gravitational Constant, capital M is the Star's mass, lowercase

m is the planet's mass, and a is the orbital radius.

We can ignore the planet's mass for now, as it's miniscule compared to the star's.

If we do this for Earth, it introduces an error of just 0.001%.

The period is measured by seeing the time between transits, and so we have all the variables

we need to calculate the orbital radius.

Now that we know how far away the planet is, figuring out it's diameter from the transit

dimming is simple.

The next bit of information gathering requires a bit of a perspective shift.

We are used to the idea that planets orbit a star, but it would be more accurate to say

that the planet and star orbit the centre of mass of the star-planet system, which is

not at the centre of the star.

This means the planet's mass is actually impacting the orbit of the star around this

point.

The larger the mass of the planet the larger the deviation.

We can measure the magnitude of this deviation by detecting the doppler shift in the stars

light frequency.

As the star moves towards us the light becomes slightly more blue, and when the star moves

away from us it becomes slightly more red.

Using the law of conservation of momentum we can easily calculate the mass of the planet.

We know the velocity of the planet from orbital radius and period measurements, the mass of

the Star from our distance and luminosity measurements, and the velocity of the sun

is measured from these doppler shifts in the light frequency.

Leaving us with all the information we need to calculate the mass of the planet.

Using these tools Astronomers have inferred quite a lot of information about these planets.

The 7 planets orbit so closely to their star that a year ranges from just 1.5 days for

the innermost planet to 20 days for the outermost planet.

They are so close packed that the planets will at times appear in each others sky, larger

than our moon appears in ours.

Maybe the coolest part of the entire thing, is the planetary system is named after the

beer the scientist used to toast their discovery.

But it isn't all good news, because they orbit so close, many of the planets will be

tidally locked, like our moon is to the earth, meaning one side of the planet will constantly

face the sun.

Which may restrict life to the terminator, the narrow band of perpetual twilight.

On top of this, orbiting this closely to a dwarf star exposes it to radiation from solar

flares, which can strip it's atmosphere away, especially if it is not protected by

a strong magnetic field like earth.

For now, we don't have a lot of information on these planets, beyond their position, period

and mass.

But we'll know more soon, as the James Webb Telescope will be able to give us more information

about the atmosphere on these planets by observing the light that shines through their atmosphere

during transit.

By examining the spectrum of light coming through the atmosphere we can discover what

gases are in its atmosphere.

Here we have the spectroscopy analysis of Venus, Earth and Mars.

All have the fingerprints of carbon dioxide in their atmosphere, while only Earth has

the traits of an atmosphere rich in ozone and water.

If we see results like these coming from any of the Trappist-1 planets, a world wide toast

with Belgian beers may be in order.

Learning how astronomers discover our universe is fascinating, but it's unlikely you will

ever have the tools to discover your own worlds, but you can explore the world you stand on

and its night time sky using fairly inexpensive equipment to produce incredible photos like

this.

You can learn how to do this using this course on Skillshare, which will teach you how to

find the best times of month plan your shoot, how to find dark areas near your location,

how to identify and plan the stars you will photograph and how to set up your equipment.

This is probably my favourite course I have taken on Skillshare to date, and I bet you

will like it too.

DIY Extreme Cut Out Jeans & Wearing Them In The City | Make Thrift Buy #63 - Duration: 9:26.

That feeling when..

You wake up to hundreds of Tweets, Instagram DM's and Facebook messages letting me know

that the cut out jeans have reached their final form.

It's happened… we've reached the singularity.

We've finally achieved…

TOTAL.

CUTOUT.

[Music plays]

Welcome to make, thrift buy – the series

where YOU send in clothes that you have seen on the internet, and then I do my best to

recreate them…..

annnnnd sometimes make fun of them.

A lot of the time… make fun of them.

Alright, time to destroy a pair of jeans!

[Sad music plays]

Ok so, you all know what this is going to

look like, you don't really need a video of me showing you how to use scissors.

So, why am I doing this video then?

Well, I suuuper didn't want to do this… but then I thought, well, maybe at least raise

some money for charity!

So, all the money from the ad revenue from this video – all that money is going to

be going to a charity called the Vasculitis Foundation, because May is Vasculitis awareness

month, which is important to me because, number 1: It's my birthday in May and 2: I suffer

from a Vasculitis illness called Takayasu's Arteritis

And I'd love to find a cure, not just for myself, but for everyone else who has to live

with this.

Anyway… back to the jeans!

So the website who sells them, has had a lot of traction in the last few days, with mainstream

media outlets picking up and making fun of these jeans – but guess what?

No news is bad news… cause they are SOLD OUT.

Because, of course they are.

A ready to wear version of a look that hit runways last year at Tokyo Fashion Week, these

pants from this website that I don't think is affiliated with the original..

These jeans sell for a cool $168 US dollars.

We currently live in a wild, wild world where the internet, plus outrage, plus memes, plus

capitalism equals… joke items like this get SOLD OUT APPARENTLY INSTANTLY

Even when they cost $168!

The only I can say in their favor is at least they're manufactured in L.A.?

But they don't say where the material is from, they're also just basically destined

for the rubbish bin, because like, how many times are you going to wear these?

Are you gonna keep them for your children?

Or your children's children?

And I mean, they're not very size inclusive… the "jeans" only go up to a size 27"

waist, which is like a size 4 US…

It's just too bad that I already turned the clear knee mum jeans-turn-dirt jeans into

some rather nice, embroidered shorts… so we can't use those for this.

But I do have a pair of jeans that I WAS about to give to the thrift store… so this pair

of jeans were originally from a thrift store, for $3.

So, to… let's be real, destroy these jeans…

What I did was to turn them inside out, and then with my pair of fabric scissors, I pinched

a fold of fabric on one leg at the back, and I proceeded to cut down near the side seams.

I had a bit of a needy dog problem!

This doggo didn't want me to destroy these jeans either!

And then I continued cutting down the side seams, leaving about an inch (which is a like

2.5cm) of fabric next to the seams.

So I liberated this HUGE amount of fabric, which is going to be going into my scrap fabric

pile to be shredded, and then used as pillow stuffing for a dog bed I'm making…

I repeated this on the other leg's back piece, leaving me with this nice… thong…part.

Now the originals leave this little modesty strip of fabric over the knees, so I put the

half deconstructed jeans on, and I drew a chalk mark around about where my knees are.

The next step is to cut out a rectangle of fabric HERE, leaving a bit of fabric next

to the seams on these edges.

And then because I obviously want this to be SUPER accurate, otherwise how RIDICULOUS

would I look; I folded this leg on top of the other leg, to make sure that I was cutting

out the same size rectangle from the other leg.

For the last step, I turned the jeans the other way around to make sure I wouldn't

accidentally cut out the pockets, because it is ESSENTIAL that the pockets are left

in there.

And I cut out the rest of the fabric, making sure I kept those knee strips in.

And that's it!

This took me abouuut 15 minutes, so, pretty speedy DIY!

So, now with them finished, how do they look on me?

And more importantly, what do people think of them?

Annika: Hey Luci, what do you think of my pants?

Annika: Do you know how much these retail for?

Luci: How much?

Annika: Give me your guess.

Luci: I don't know… [sighs] $6000?

Annika: It's actually surprisingly less!

Luci: How much?

Annika: $168 US dollars…

Luci: It's almost like there is a formula for you add more money, the more jean you

take away Luci: You know one square of denim, that will

be $5000.

Just one button, that'll be $10,000 Annika: Aww TM TM TM TM

Luci: One button and you just glue it to your own belly button

Annika: You have new business idea – we're gonna make MILLIONS

Annika: What do you think about me wearing these out and about in public?

Luci: You know what?

I think, I support you in your choices….

Annika: Hey mum, what do you think of my new jeans?

Mum: Hello!

Oh, wow…

What happened to your jeans?

Acid rain?

Mum: Umm….

There's not much of them, what about your underwear?

Mum: I'm glad the zipper's still there…

Annika: What do you think about your daughter wearing these out in public?

Mum: Um… just depends on… where public is! [laughs]

But, wearing them inside my own home is a little bit safe and both Luci and my mum have

seen the weird things that I DIY many times before, so to feel their full effect I took

them out IN PUBLIC to a place where there are lots of young, hip people around – the

middle of Sydney University's campus.

And Kim, apparently, she thinks they're alright!

And I also think we figured out a way for them to look pretty…

OK?

Wear them over some cute track pants!

However I did wanna test them out in their natural state, in the way that both of these

models wore them, with bare legs.

So I wore them over some VERY teeny tiny booty shorts… we did try talking to some people,

to see what they thought, but mostly… people ran away from me.

However this one person, the only person that would talk to us on camera, was very very

polite about them.

So.

Supportive.

In general, the people who didn't want to be on camera but who we did talk to, said

that they wouldn't wear them themselves but they were still very supportive of my

right to wear whatever I wanted.

Which was kinda what I expected from students at university, although I did get quite a

few stares, and laughs and confused looks.

Practically, I found it very difficult to walk up or down stairs with them.

I found it really hard to walk fast, or, walk at… all… really, because I kept getting

tangled and tripped up by the dangling, stringy seams.

Mostly I had to walk around holding the sides of them up like this… kinda turning myself

into a marionette puppet.

They're also very much like a slinky, once you've tangled it, you don't untangle

it.

And while walking up one set of stairs…

Annika: OH NO!

So there goes the idea of trying to sell these for charity…

I wonder if the originals are just as flimsy, or if they have added something to maintain

their structural integrity….

You'd hope so for the price they're selling them for.

Annika: Wow, with this knee bit gone, they really lost all semblance of being anything

close to pants, now they're just weird, floppy, ankle holders…

So after the leg part broke I KINDA gave up…

So, that's how I destroyed a pair of jeans… for charity?

At least they only cost me $3!

Don't let the jeans go to waste though!

Well I'm going to recycle all the fabric, don't worry…

But don't let this video pass you by without going and checking out The Vasculitis Foundation,

and, if you have the means to, donating.

All of May is Vasulitis awareness month, so, go and learn a bit about Vasculitis as well

– impress your friends with your knowledge of Takayasu's Arteritis!

I'll pop a link in the description box below, and if you don't have the means to donate,

just know that you're helping out by watching, and sharing this video.

All advertising and YouTube Red revenue from this video for this month, will go directly

to the Vasulitis Foundation, to help keep them raising money for life saving outreach

and research.

Anyway, thanks for watching, it's still pretty fun to do some of these more ridiculous

videos now and again!

So I hope you enjoyed it as well.

Anyway I'll see you all next time!

And don't forget to push the little bell and say that you want notifications from me

all the time if you ACTUALLY wanna know when I post, because subscribing apparently means

nothing anymore.

match on the go-home episode of Raw last week, Sami Zayn ended up not being on the show at

all - posting on Twitter "Je suis chez moi" which is Google Translate for "I am at home".

WrestlingNews.co first reported that WWE gave its wrestlers the option to miss the event

if they felt uncomfortable performing in Saudi Arabia.

And with Sami being of Syrian descent, and fronting the Sami for Syria relief fund campaign

for anyone affected by the Syrian War, it was presumed Zayn might've been one of those

to decline the Greatest Royal Rumble invitation because of Saudi's tension with Syria.

Pro Wrestling Sheet, however, followed this up reporting "it was NOT due to his own

request…

Sami Zayn was not booked to compete on the show to respect the local culture in Saudi

Arabia."

And now the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter has given more details on the situation:

"He was not told why he wasn't on the show.

To the best of our knowledge and based on what he's said to others privately, he still

hasn't been told and has claimed he has no explanation."

Dave Meltzer notes that Zayn actually wrestled in Saudi Arabia for three consecutive nights

in April 2014, back when WWE were trying to push him as a Middle Eastern star because

of his Syrian heritage.

And despite all those claims on commentary for the "progressive, beautiful resort city

of Jeddah" - my God, it's just so beautiful - Sami not wrestling just four years later

is the very definition of regression.

Corey Graves Backstage Heat?

One person who took issue with this appears to be Corey Graves, who sounded uncomfortable

on commentary for the event, and who later posted on the Gram:

"A drink to remember that no matter how bad WE think we have it, at least our women

have rights and we all have freedom of expression.

🇺🇸 #ifyougetityougetit" The Wrestling Observer is reporting Graves

already had backstage heat in WWE for his cryptic comments about the show, and the Instagram

post did nothing to help that: "It was noted to us that his feelings were

understandable but that his statements should have only been made privately.

There were also people noting that he's more replaceable than he thinks he is."

Has AJ Styles' next SmackDown feud been leaked?!

Aesthetic Training Tips | How to Build Shredded Shoulders - Duration: 4:35.

what's up muscle & strength this is IFBB Pro Santi Aragon today I'm going to

be taking you through three of my favorite aesthetic building shoulder

exercises

so the first movement that we're gonna be doing is a rear pec deck and they're

in the rear Pec dech what we're gonna be trying to hit is the rear delt now

we're gonna sit on the machine facing the pad and what you want to do

is you want to sit in a very comfortable spot so that your level with the bars

and if you notice usually a PEC deck machine you would grab the bar and

you've come back this way the modification that I do is I actually

flip my hands around to push back and if you notice in this movement what I'm

trying to do is I'm trying to concentrate

taking my elbows and I'm using my elbows to push my arm back I'm not using my

hands itself to move the bar which is then contracting my rear delt so I'm

gonna demonstrate with one arm again using my elbow to drive back contracting

the rear delt

and that's movement number one the second movement that we're gonna be

doing for esthetic shoulders is gonna be a lateral raise

utilizing the cables this is something that I do during prep I think it's very

important that you find a good balance with your shoulder training and again in

my opinion aesthetic training is also training with

a sort of balance as well so the cables pulling me back and that's stretching my

shoulder I'm coming up without having to swing my body just really concentrating

on bringing the cable up to the side of my body a lot of people make a mistake

doing any type of lateral movements by locking out their elbows and just

pulling with their wrist almost like this this is putting a lot of strain on

your elbow joint so it's very important that you put some slight bend in your

elbow and the way that I teach my clients is pretend like you have a

string attached to your elbow and that string is the one that's pulling your

elbow up and now you're putting less stress on your elbow less stress on your

wrist and all the stresses where we want it the last movement for aesthetic

balance classic looking delts is gonna be a superset I like to do the superset

at the end of my shoulder training and what this is going to do is this is

gonna hit your front portion of your delts and it's also gonna hit that nice

little edge on the lateral portion of the delts as well so the first movement

is going to be a front delt movement using the ropes I'm gonna lean my body

forward as well I'm gonna keep my back straight and what you're gonna do is

you're gonna pull the rope straight forward

and again if you notice I am not locking out my elbows I got a nice small bend to

them and I'm coming straight up I'm gonna do these for about 12 to 15 reps

I'm gonna turn and I'm gonna do an upright row and my elbows are gonna

drive straight up so the upright roses somewhat challenging for some people

because it's very awkward for them to lead with their elbows I'm gonna

demonstrate this movement and just notice how I'm leading the movement up

with my elbows and my elbows are actually getting higher than my

shoulders it's very important that you pick an appropriate weight that you can

handle so that your elbows are doing the driving and not your body elbows are the

ones that are driving up and contracting the shoulders

there you have it those are my favorite aesthetic building shoulder exercises

The Strike Warfare Chimera - Duration: 8:54.

The Strike Warfare Chimera

by Edward Morgan

Despite the uncertain results and colossal failures, we remain addicted to strike warfare,

telling ourselves that we can police the politics on the ground by dropping bombs from on high.

Surrounded by the wreckage around the world wrought by strike wars stretching back over

half a century, youd think that its time for us to get into the rehab center and

confront our addiction. (Photo: Reuters) You could hear the back slapping in Paris,

Washington, and London as the allies unleashed a fusillade of missiles at Syria in response

to the April 7 chemical attack in the suburb of Douma.

The precision strikes are said to have crippled the Assad regimes chemical weapons

capabilitythe same weapons that were supposed to have been voluntarily given up way back

in 2013 in that now infamous deal between the Obama administration and Vladimir Putin.

News outlets have all posted the videos of missiles blowing up buildings with big booms,

with accompanying pictures of the bombers and ships that launched the fusillade.

Wow, I mean, arent we great?

Its got to be worth a chest pumping photo op, right?

For those states that can afford them, standoff weapons and bombs have become the preferred

method of policing the international system.

Its hard to remember any of these strikes having any sort of lasting impact once the

headlines and videos have faded, yet these strikes maintain a hold on governments

and popular imaginations as some sort of decisive action that curiously demonstrates strength,

commitment, and resolve.

Before we get too giddy and engage in too many self-congratulatory hand-shakes, we should

take a long, hard look in the mirror and ask ourselves what has actually been accomplished?

How are we actually to judge what objectives have been achieved, and how are we to know

that weve actually achieved them?

The reality is that strike warfarelong range strikes by planes and missileshas

rarely achieved its advertised strategic consequence.

Yet it remains a dangerous, drug-like chimera to states desperately searching for some sort

of easy, low-cost fix in the search for influence in the chaotic international system.

Like all drugs, the initial rush feels great, but the long-range addiction is, in the end,

far more destructive, dangerous, and difficult (if not impossible) to kick.

We tell ourselves that the state/bad guy on the receiving end (in this case Syrian leader

Bashar al-Assad) must have felt some sort of proportionate pain in response to what

has become the routine use of chemical weapons in the Syrian civil warsome estimates suggest

theyve been used more than 50 times over the course of the war.

The truth is that we have no way of knowing whether the weapons have been destroyed or

whether Assad will keep on using them.

We told ourselves the same thing in December 1998, in the three-day fusillade known as

Desert Fox, when we really emphasized just how unhappy we were with Saddams recalcitrance

toward UN weapons inspectors.

And, of course, Desert Fox was really just the exclamation point on repeated long-range

strikes during the 1990s that sought to control his non-existent WMD programs.

My favorite strike of the 1990s was the 1996 cruise missile strike to warn Saddam off of

attacking the Kurds in northern Iraq.

The strategic consequences of those strikes went unrecognized at the time, but they had

little to do with Saddam.

Following the strikes, the US took on the role of protecting the Kurds and tacitly endorsing

their dream of statehooda decision that today continues to shape the region in ways

that may or may not support our interests.

In the end, the era of the 1990s culminating in Desert Fox proved to be little else but

the bridge to the next phase of the U.S. war on Iraq.

We told ourselves the same thing in the opening phases of the shock and awe campaign of the

invasion of Iraq in 2003 as we blasted away in our creative targeting against Saddams

armies under the rubric of shock and awe and effects-based operations. Sure enough,

Saddams armies indeed melted away from our initial fusillade and our advancing armies,

only to regroup and morph into something much more dangerous and deadly that is still shaping

the landscape of the Middle East.

We told ourselves that same thing in Afghanistan, as we unleashed a fusillade of strikes called

in by CIA jawbreaker teams that sent the Taliban scurrying over the border into Pakistan to

rest and refit.

Once they had done that, they slipped back across the border to resume the wara war

that remains unsettled 17 years later.

The Taliban has not laid down their arms and shows no interest in reaching a peace agreement.

We told ourselves the same thing in Libya in 2011, when we believed that a few well-placed

strikes would enable a peaceful transition of power from Qadafi to something more amenable

to, well, us.

Of course, as was the case in Iraq, the strikes were only the opening round in an ongoing

struggle for political power and authority all these many years later.

As was the case in Iraq and Afghanistan, the second order effects of the strikes in Libya

ended up being of far greater strategic consequences than was anticipated at the time.

Our regional friends have perhaps unsurprisingly also drunk the Kool-Aid.

The Saudis and the Emiratis have been blasting away from on high against the Houthis in Yemen

for three years and, in the process, have helped create the worst humanitarian catastrophe

in world.

And thats saying something given the implosion of states and the resulting refugee populations

created in places like the Sudan and the Congo.

Weve told ourselves the same thing in the global war on terror, where we have sent our

robots and special forces hunting for sought-after high value targets all over the Middle

East, Africa, and South Asia.

We have surely rained death and destruction on these enemies (and killed lots of innocent

people who were at the wrong place at the wrong time) with our Hellfire missiles, but

have we won the war?

We told ourselves a version of the same thing as we unleashed our strike war against North

Vietnam in the 1960s and 1970s.

I mean, how could the Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese withstand such death and destruction

meted upon them by our awesome firepower?

As highlighted in the recent Ken Burns series Vietnam, the death and destruction indeed

was on an unimaginable scale, yet, in the end it was us that left with our tails between

our legs.

Yet despite these uncertain results and even colossal failures, we remain addicted to strike

warfare, telling ourselves that we can police the politics on the ground by dropping bombs

from on high.

The reality is, of course, different.

Those fighting the wars on the ground are fighting for political objectives, and it

is on the ground that the fight will be determinednot by the missiles and airplanes flying around

above it.

This fact is not lost on Assad.

His response to the strikes?

He reportedly stepped up attacks against his enemies on the ground.

Therein lies the strategic dilemma for the West, which has invested billions in the strike,

information, surveillance, and reconnaissance complexes that are designed to blow things

up with little collateral damage.

The revolution in military affairs (and billions of taxpayer dollars) indeed delivered the

complexmuch to the delight of political leaders, who saw in it a low-cost substitute

for sending armies to the four corners of the globe to police political disputes.

Yet the foreign policy establishment in the United States desperately clings to the myths

they helped create that the strike complex would mean that these wars would be short,

low cost and that we could control the bad behavior of our enemies by bombing them.

Our enemies must surely back down in the fact of such might.

Right?

Surrounded by the wreckage around the world wrought by strike wars stretching back over

half a century, youd think that its time for us to get into the rehab center and

confront our addiction.

Detroit: Become Human – Art of Detroit | PS4 - Duration: 4:19.

Detroit Become Human

was produced over a period of four years.

Here in Paris we have a team of about 180 people,

and to that we need to add all the outsourcing with our

partners in the Philippines, in China, Vietnam, and India.

So when we started working on the story,

I had to imagine where Kara was built.

And for whatever reason the city of Detroit came very quickly to

my mind because it had already an incredible story by itself of

history and themes.

So we traveled there with a team,

and we were really moved by what we saw.

And we could really feel the desire to fight

and really be born again.

And we just continued this curve,

this growth and just imagined what Detroit would be like if

the android industry was, you know,

using these huge factories to build androids there.

A very strong element in Detroit is that there's a lot of

industrial wasteland and a lot of nature too.

And for us, the graphic designers,

it was an incredible playground.

The destroyed zones which we wanted to preserve,

we appropriated them to turn into something else.

Then in the areas that needed to be rebuilt,

we were able to imagine our Detroit of the future.

We didn't want to make a science fiction universe,

but a world of anticipation.

If we chose science fiction, we could have imagined flying cars,

extra terrestrials,

but those things are very far from our current everyday life.

Anticipation is more about gleaning from our contemporary

reality, the one we know,

because Detroit is set in 2038, and 2038 is tomorrow.

The difficulty we had was sticking to reality.

That is to say,

technology becoming more and more invisible,

a lot more elegant,

and at the same time making it visual.

So all the computer equipment, autonomous cars,

we simply had to invent.

They are, in fact, very technological objects,

but at the same time,

remain very credible and engrained in reality.

To create a cohesive universe in the fashion and clothing of the

human characters in 2038,

I didn't want to put an accent on strange shapes

or really vibrant colors and things we wouldn't know.

That I wanted to keep for the androids.

The goal was to create something familiar

which we can identify with in this future setting.

Working on the artistic direction for the androids was a

bit special because this is a project about the place they

could occupy in the human world.

It was out of the question for them to be too beautiful or too

perfect.

They had to correspond to every social class,

rich and poor.

Inspired by everyday utilitarian clothes,

I brought a modern touch by adding dynamic display surfaces,

the armband we can see on the side,

the triangle on the front and back,

an LED;

like that there's no confusion.

You're just an android.

All right, ma'am. You need to go.

You can't do that.

Why aren't you sending a real person?

Once we cast the actors,

we travel to meet them in order to scan their faces.

We record the structure of their face with a scan,

and we record the colors and patches of skin with

photography.

Once we have this information, we will use this as a basis for

modeling and creating the characters.

The artist will make it more realistic

but will also enrich it.

He will propose ideas which we will develop together.

Finally we will have a character with character who corresponds

to the project and the world.

When the actors come to Quantic Dream,

we show them the design, what their image will be,

and what they will look like in the game.

This extra information gives them another dimension in color

to connect with emotionally.

It helps them think about how they play their character.

Your mission, that's all you care about, huh?

You should consult a professional who can help you.

Beat it. You here me!

Get the hell out of here!

2014-2018 Silverado N-Fab Cab Length Nerf Side Steps - Textured Black Review & Install - Duration: 6:16.

The N-Fab Cab Length Nerf Side Steps are a good choice for any 2014 to 2018 Silverado

owner who might be interested in a drop step coming down lower than the traditional side

step bars, to give better access for lifted trucks or vertically challenged people like

myself.

Now, the installation is extremely easy, only takes about an hour and will definitely get

one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, and I'll walk you through that later

on.

There are a number of different types and styles of side step, all of which do the same

job with a different design.

This particular step is straying away from the traditional side step or running board

design.

Instead, offers individually guarded stepping pads for added security.

Now, those pads do come down a little lower under each of the doors, which is great for

taller trucks and shorter people because it's going to be easier to get your foot into the

stepping pad and into the truck.

There is still a bar that runs the entire length of the cab to look tougher which is

what the steps are welded to.

The bar then mounts it all to the rocker panel.

The drop steps, or Nerf bars, are made from a stainless steel which is going to protect

your sides from door dings in the parking lot, won't necessarily double as full on side

armor for any real obstacles on the trail.

They do come down lower than most steps from the side of your truck, so if you plan on

going off-roading, then you're looking for the best ground clearance possible and these

won't be for you.

These are for those people who want this type of styling or those who want the easiest time

getting in and out.

You can grab this set in a textured black, which helps with rock chips and scratches,

for just about 300 bucks for the pair.

The installation again is pretty simple, you'll need a ratchet and a very simple socket set,

as well as a flat head screwdriver or panel removal tool.

Now, from start to finish, you can expect it to take about an hour for both sides.

So, I'm giving it one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter.

I'm throwing these on my own very personal 2016 Silverado, so let's head over there to

see how it's done.

Tools you'll need for this install are a three-eights impact gun or a ratchet, panel removal tool,

13 millimeter socket, and 13 millimeter wrench.

So, the N-Fab Cab Length Nerf Bars already have the brackets pre-welded to the bars here

so that does make life a little bit easier.

It's one less step we have to do.

So, what we're going to do first is take one of our bolts and thread it through the pre-drilled

and pre-threaded hole from the factory on our body panel.

Once we have those threaded in just a little bit, since these have pre-slotted holes in

our brackets here, we're just going to hang those over top of those bolts and then bolt

it down at our pinch welds.

So, the first thing we're going to do is take our 13 millimeter bolt here and a flat washer,

thread this 13 mil through our pre-threaded hole in the body panel.

Just enough, doesn't have to be too tight, but just enough so it's in there pretty securely.

Now, we're going to be working with the body panel holes here and the pinch welds.

So, there's three of them across the inside of this body here.

So, the second hole we're working with is right above the second pinch weld hole on

our driver side.

So, again, we're going to take our bolt and thread it through that body panel hole that's

been pre-threaded for us from Chevy.

Once you have that snug, you're going to move on to the last pinch weld hole on the driver

side.

So, the third hole we're working with is all the way toward the rear, but there is going

to be a black plug since there is no pre-drilled hole that's been threaded.

So, we're going to take a panel removal tool, or a flat head screwdriver does the trick

as well, and just pop off that black grommet there.

Kind of work your tool around it, get it out of place, that will fly out.

So, you just got to be careful where that's landing.

So, next up since there is two holes back to back here, you're going to take one of

these clip-on nuts that's been provided for you, you're going to feed it through with

the threaded side on the inside of your panel, so the holes line up with that second smaller

one.

And with that in place, you'll take another one of your bolts and your flat head washers

and thread that through here.

When you thread this one through, it's going to be a little easier, it won't be as tight

to get through by hand, so you just want to make sure you're leaving space to slip that

bracket on through.

So, now that you have the bolt heads in place with the flat washers, what you're going to

do, if you're working by yourself, what you're going to want to do is take the side step

underneath here and just feed it over the bolt head, so that way it's at least supporting

itself.

And if you're working by yourself, this is a little bit easier on you so that you don't

have to balance a pretty heavy side step bar.

So, as you'll notice, the flat washer's on the inside.

We want it on the outside where the bolt head is.

You're going to have to go one by one to remove the bolts and put it on the correct side of

the Nerf bar and start feeding it back over.

This way, you can put it on as tight as possible and do the exact same thing to the next one.

Third and final one, lift it up high enough just to feed that bolt out.

Flip that flat washer onto the outside and then tighten it back down on the correct side

here.

So, the next step we're going to actually start working on our pinch welds here.

So we're going to take another bolt with a flat washer on one end, feed that through

the bottom, flat washer on the other end, nut to cap it off.

Tighten that down as much as we can here.

You can take a 13 millimeter wrench, put it on over top of the nut, grab a 13 millimeter

socket and tighten that up a little bit.

And then with the same socket, you're going to hit the top one.

So for the second we're going to do the same thing, feed our flat washer and bolt through,

flat washer on the other side, and then the nut to top it off here.

Third and final one gets the same process here.

Tighten that down by hand.

With our final bolt here, we don't have a whole lot of room to work with power tools,

so I switched over to the ratchet.

So, again, it's just kind of the same process.

It might just take a little longer by hand here.

But, we're just going to tighten this down.

All right, with that final bolt tightened up, you're done with the driver side and you

can move on to the passenger side, which is the exact same setup here, with the exact

same hardware.

So, it's prettystraight forward.

All right, with that last bolt tightened up, that's going to wrap up our driver side here.

Moving on to the passenger side is going to be the exact same process, nothing changes

there, same hardware, same bolt holes, same pinch welds.

So it should be very simple, very straightforward.

At the end of the day, it does have a really aggressive look, the drop steps do come down

a little bit lower than your typical side step, lose a little bit of ground clearance

there, but again, I think the appearance alone, and the construction, and all around the same

functionality as a typical side step makes up for all that.

Building an ISOBUS Load N' Go Configuration - Duration: 4:46.

In this tutorial, we will explain how to set up a display configuration using the ISOBUS

Load N' Go feature of the InCommand displays. A display configuration is required to be able

to use AutoSwath™ and variable rate prescriptions and to be able to map and record data when

operating with an ISOBUS implement that supports Task Controller. For this example, we will

build an application configuration for a pull-type sprayer that has the Ag Leader® ISOBUS Liquid

Control Module installed, but the Load N' Go feature will work for any ISOBUS Planter,

Seeder, or Applicator. Before we begin, Universal Terminal and Task Controller must be enabled

in the ISOBUS settings and we need to configure the implement in Universal Terminal and make

sure it is actively connected. These steps are covered in detail in other video tutorials

on our channel. From the Home screen, tap the Universal Terminal

app. Here we can see that there is an ISOBUS configuration that it is actively communicating.

Once that is verified, tap the back arrow to return to the home screen.

Our example is a sprayer, so we will begin by tapping the Application app. Tap the green

plus to create a new configuration. Our tractor was already entered in the display, so we'll

select John Deere 8430 and tap the next arrow. Tap the green plus to create our new implement.

Enter a make and model for the sprayer, and tap the next arrow.

Next, we need to specify whether this implement is connected to the tractor by the rear drawbar

or rear lift arms. Our example sprayer attaches using the rear drawbar on the tractor. Tap

the next arrow. We need to measure and enter the distance

from the hitch to the implement axle. Tap the next arrow.

The Load 'N' Go feature appears on the application channels page. The InCommand display

will automatically build a controller to match the connected ISOBUS implement, and that's

why the settings must be entered in Universal Terminal first. Review the container capacity

and tap the edit container button to adjust the capacity if needed. Then, tap the next

arrow. On this sprayer, we don't have any additional

devices such as Norac UC5 boom height controller or OptRx® crop sensors, so we will leave

those unchecked. Tap the next arrow. If the implement provides a rear hitch for

a second implement, we can enable a rear hitch, and enter the offset on this screen. Our example

sprayer does not provide a rear hitch so we will not check the box. Tap the next arrow.

The implement name defaults to the make and model of the implement that we specified earlier.

The name can be edited by tapping the keyboard icon. Tap the green check to finish creating

the implement. On the implement selection screen, verify

that our new implement is selected, and tap the next arrow.

We do not have a second implement connected on a rear hitch, in our example, so we will

select none and tap the next arrow. On the speed source selection screen, we will

leave the speed source set to Display GPS to be able to use AutoSwath™ and map the

as-applied data. If there is radar connected to the display, it can be calibrated using

the calibration wizard on this screen. Tap the next arrow.

The name of the configuration defaults to the vehicle name and implement name. You can

edit the name of the configuration by tapping the keyboard icon. Tap the green check to

complete the configuration setup. Since the Load 'N' Go feature built the

controller based on what it detected from the connected ISOBUS control unit, it ensures

that the display configuration and the ISOBUS configuration match, as indicated by the green

check. Tap the green check. Now you will be able to build a display configuration using

the ISOBUS Load N' Go feature of the InCommand displays. For more information on the InCommand

Display, please reference the Display User Guide. For more information on the ISOBUS

Liquid Rate Module, please reference the ISOBUS Liquid Feature User Guide.

GRWM/Story time confronting my bully - Duration: 18:28.

hi guys welcome back so today I'm gonna be doing a little get ready with me

story time kind of jobbie, so I'm gonna talk about the time that I confronted my

bully. so we're gonna get on the Wayback Machine, like way back like seventh grade

and I'm not gonna tell you what year it was cuz I'm not gonna date myself like

that .I'm gonna do I'm not gonna do me like that get a snack get a glass of

wine let's talk so I already did my brows off camera because there is no way

that I would be able to do my brows and tell a story at the same time if you're

curious about any of the makeup that I'm wearing in the video today then I will

put it in the description bar because ain't got time for all that. I got a

story to tell. first things first, I had a friend... hmm kind of a friend, we

weren't friends for that long .she had stayed over at my house once before but

we were cool .we shared a swimming class together

I'm gonna call her Angie, so me and Angie shared this swimming

class together. and at our school it was a small town but at our school the pool

was at the high school. and if you were in junior high which I was

in seventh grade, and she was in 8th ,our class was first period so we would go to

the high school for our first period and then take a bus over to the junior high

for the rest of the day. and I guess I should start putting my makeup on, so hard to

multi task, so Angie had spent the night at my house once before and we were cool.

but for some reason we drifted apart and I to this day,i don't know why why that is but

we did .picture the class that we took together it was about 20 boys in like

7th and 8th grade, and about 3 or 4 girls. so it was a very testosterone filled

class .plus our swim coach was like one of those old school very like, Marine

drill sergeant-esk coaches that... he put the fear in everybody like you don't

mess with coach. like if he's... first of all he doesn't talk, he yells at you. the

whole the whole class and if you do one thing out of line you're dropping and

doing push-ups or swimming laps whatever he felt was necessary and if you

slightly back talk it's just piling on like 10 push-ups ,20 push-ups, 50 pushups.

so nobody nobody talked back to the coach so

there was a few days where things just started to escalate mind you I was a

very introverted quiet quiet kid we hadn't lived in that

town very long so I really didn't have any other friends it's like like she was

one of my only friends at that school so this girl had Angie had started to I

could hear her like whispering and like basically talking shit on the sly to

other girls in the class. like in the locker room when we're getting dressed.

Angie uh we had to ride the bus like I said we had to ride the bus from swim

class back to the junior high each day so on that bus ride Angie started to

mess with me and it just started to escalate each day just little things

little whispers giggles and then it got to the point where she was actually like

poking me like touching me pulling, pulling a couple hairs and acted like it was

an accident but you know damn well it wasn't no damn accident. so I told my mom

told my mom that that the girl who I had previously had overnight was &*^%$@#

with me that she wouldn't leave me alone and I was a good kid I didn't want to

get like I didn't really care about getting in trouble at school cuz I

didn't really care about school but I didn't care about getting in trouble

with my mom so I told my mom what was going on

and that she was like that it was escalating and she was like poking and

prodding and that she was actually starting to like pinch me and put her

hands on me and my mom said that if that girl touches you again you have my

permission to lay into her girl that is all I needed

that's like green light go and I knew I knew she that it was gonna happen she

wasn't gonna leave it alone now mind you I was a small little seventh grader but

I had a brother that was three years older than me though was he was mean we

used to fist put em up like I could take a punch and

I got to the point where it's okay I could take a punch as long as I get one

good one in and I also had taken Taekwondo for about a year or two at my

church when I was like really younger like around nine or ten so I wasn't just

like clueless on what to do in a situation I wasn't no Bruce Leroy but I

wasn't no Punk .I'd been in plenty of fights ,I I grew up around me my brother

and then my auntie had five kids so I was the second to youngest and out of

all of those kids so I knew how to defend myself enough .okay so the day

after my mom told me that you have the green light go you know if

she messes with you anymore just lay her out so I go to I go to my first period

class at the pool and I'm just thinking in my head like I'm ready I'm ready

like I dare you bitch, I dare you. so we played this game in the swim

class where it was basically like there was a brick which looking back on it

like what like how is that safe to put twenty boys and three girls in the pool

split them down the middle and say this team has to get the brick to this side

of the pool this team has to get the brick to that side of the pool and go so

it was like fighting scratching whatever shoving punching whatever you got to do

to get to the brick get the brick to the other side of the pool that's the only

rule.that was our class, so we're all like huddled around this brick just

shoving and shoving and this girl thinks this is the perfect opportunity to jump

on my back, and try and put me in a chokehold .man

say no more I didn't I need anymore I didn't need

pushed anymore. so this girl puts her arm around my neck and I go like this and

elbow her in the gut and I turn around and I made a fist and I just

right right there just one punch once this solid punch to the jaw

this girl was so shocked... just dumbstruck that how, that she was just dumbstruck.

and she just looked at me like and spit blood into the pool and then just starts

crying whew ....and runs off to the coach. she's

saying something to him I'm just like oh my god here it comes... and the coach yells

Heather! out of the pool! and so I get out of the pool and I walk over there ,I know

it's coming, and he's just like drop and give me ten. and I'm like what I ...twenty!

so I drop did my twenty push-ups went to school and this girl so she doesn't talk

to me on the way back to the junior high but as soon as we get to the school and

I get to my next class I hear that I'm called to the principal's office so we

go to the principal's office she's already there waiting and I start

explaining that this girl had been missing at me for days prior well at

that point time that didn't matter kid can bully if you want to bully .but if any

type of altercation happens both kids are suspended for three days

so he he breaks the news that we're both suspended for three days now mind you I

have permission to lay her out but she really starts bawling then because now

her parents are gonna know all about her and her little crimes and the gag of it

all is... I didn't get in trouble. I not only did I not get in trouble I had a three-day

vacation coming my way. so I go home and have my little three

day vacation and I got no clue what's going on this is like there ain't no social

media, there ain't no like there was no Facebook for me to know like what's what

what the T is what's going on at the school so I get back to school like

three days later I hear like on the bus well not only did the girl drop out of

the swimming class so I just didn't even have to look at her anymore pretty much

but everyone that I was talking to was like oh my god we heard what happened we

heard that you broke her jaw and all this and that like that I just like

basically like beat her ass like beat her down which is not the case I did not

break her jaw but that just shows you how like stories just get blown out of

proportion .so now all of a sudden I got a reputation the new girl the new little

introvert is all the sudden the one not to be messed with

which I'm not condoning violence I'm not saying y'all should you know if

somebody bullies you then then beat their a&* but in that time in that in

that place in that time I mean I didn't have no more problems I actually had

some some little knuckleheaded girls that that were bullies trying to try and

get me to hang out with them which is not my it was not my style so that was

the story like I've never really had to deal with that girl no more she stayed

away from me she avoided me like the plague and I promise that was the time

that my bully got her ass beat

moral of the story is

do not judge a book by its cover if you see somebody that's quiet and an

introvert that does not mean that they are a punk or moral of the story is

don't be a bully am i right

all I need is like rolling in a frying pan in my hand one of those big pink

fluffy bathrobes .get your pot like this take it throw it you need your skillet

with a nice good balanced weight on it you understand and then you throw it swat

throw it and swat you give it to a swat Venus and Serena that's called grit ball

I am really bad at talking and doing stuff at the same time I got you my

whole story and my makeup ain't even close to done.

this isn't the type of video I usually do this is my first little story time

Ive been on my own since I was 14 years old. so you put a fourteen-year-old out there

on the streets there's gonna be stories to tell because I really had little to

no guidance when it comes to my teenage years y'all want to hear more stories

like when I hopped a train or I mean I got all kind of stories

Friday Reads {5.4.18} + May 2018 #ReadYourFaceOff TBR [CC] - Duration: 7:34.

Hey everybody! Welcome back to my channel. It's been a while since I've done a

sit-down video. I've been doing a lot of vlogs lately because life has been real

crazy. The month of April is always super busy for me and I'm usually dead by the

end of every day and on the weekends I have no motivation

to do anything but that's just the nature of my job. April is always very

busy for me. But I'm back. I'm kind of gaining some energy back. Hopefully I can

start recording more sit-down videos for you guys. Kind of get back into the swing

of things here on YouTube. I wanted to do a quick Friday reads video for you guys.

I'm about to head out the door to go on a run but I wanted to let you guys know

what I'm reading this weekend because this weekend is the May round of the

Read Your Face Off read-a-thon. It's the 24 hour read-a-thon that has turned into a

monthly thing which has been awesome. So I want to share with you guys what I'm

going to be focusing on this weekend. So the read-a-thon is going to be taking

place on Saturday May 5th to Sunday May 6th. It's gonna start at 9 a.m. in your

timezone on Saturday and go to 9 p.m. (I meant 9AM!) in your timezone on Sunday. If you're

interested in knowing when future rounds of the Read Your Face Off read-a-thon

will be happening, go ahead and join the Read Your Face Off book club

on Goodreads. It has all the information for upcoming months readathons. There's

also a read-along happening right now. It started May 1st. We're reading through

the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin. We're gonna be reading

through that series for the next like 10 months so if you'd like to join in with

us please do. There's also a monthly buddy read of a different shorter book

every month so if you'd like to be involved we would love to have you. But

anyway enough of that. You can find all the information down in the description.

I'm gonna hop into the books that i'll be reading this weekend. So I have two

books that I absolutely want to get through this weekend and the first of

those is Braving the Wilderness by Brene Brown. This was part of a professional

development book club that I had at my work but the book club stopped meeting

after we met the first time and I've been two chapters into this for about

two months now and I'd really like to get off my currently reading shelf. It's

really, really short. It's about 140 or so pages so I can fly right through this

and get this done. This will be my first priority on Saturday. This is a

nonfiction book about kind of standing up for your own worldview and your own

beliefs in the workplace which can kind of be hard sometimes. It's really

interesting and I think right now is the perfect time for me to read this. It's

the end of an academic year. If you don't know, I work on a college campus, so

summertime is a good time to be more reflective about your professional

development and I think this is the perfect time for me to read through this.

So this will be the first thing I'm focusing on on Saturday. And the next

thing that I absolutely want to get through on Saturday is History is All

You Left Me by Adam Silvera. This is the Read Your Face Off buddy read

for the month of May. This is a YA contemporary about - it's a teen boy who

recently lost an ex-boyfriend of his. His ex boyfriend passed away and he's

dealing with the grief of that loss and he finds friendship in his ex-boyfriend's

current boyfriend. I've heard this is very sad so I'm not sure what I'm

walking into. Adam Silvera's books tend to be pretty sad but I'm really

looking forward to this because I do really enjoy Adam Silvera's writing. So

I'm looking forward to this and I'm hoping to get through this and update

the discussion threads over on the book club page. Again if you're interested in

reading this with us, we're reading this throughout the month of May and you're

more than welcome to join us over on Goodreads. So the next section of books

are books that I am going to read a part of during the read-a-thon. First up we

have A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.

I'm going to be listening to the entire series during the read along on audio

and I figured anytime that I'm not actually physically reading I can listen

to this and still get some reading done. I am about fourteen chapters into it now

and really, really enjoying it. I'm very familiar with the TV adaptation of the

series so I think that's helping with my comprehension

of the book a lot. But I'm really enjoying listening to it so that'll

definitely be something that I'll be listening to during the day. I definitely

won't finish it on Saturday but I will be listening to it periodically whenever

I have a time where I can't physically read. Next I am going to be picking up

WarCross by Marie Lu. I am buddy reading this with my friend Shannon and we will

be getting through the first kind of chunk of our buddy read this week and so

I want to read that section of the book so she and I can discuss it. I've heard

that this is a kind of YA sci-fi about kind of like a video game universe.

It's being compared to Ready Player One a lot. I don't know if it's just because

the video game aspect is a connection but I'm very intrigued to get to this

and I'm excited to be buddy reading this with my friend Shannon. And then finally

I'm going to be reading a little bit of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by

JK Rowling. I've been rereading the Harry Potter series this year. I was originally

planning on reading this in April but that just didn't happen. So I want to try

and get through this during the month of May and I'm gonna be breaking it up into

sections so hopefully it'll make it easier to get through. But I would like

to read a portion of this on Saturday as well. And then if I'm feeling like I am

tired of reading novels I do have a chunk of graphic novels here that I

would like to read as well. The first one I've had checked out from the library

since November so I would like to get through this so I can return it to the

library but that is Pregnant Butch by AK Summers. I had this on my Read Your Face

Off read-a-thon - or was it 24 and 48... It was a read-a-thon that was in January

and I never got around to it but I figured I would pick this up so I can

get it returned to the library and I'm still really interested in getting

through this. I think this is going to be a really interesting read so looking

forward to this a lot. I then have Giant Days vol 3 by John Allison. Giant Days is

a really light-hearted graphic novel series about this group of friends who

are in their first year of college. It's really, really funny and really, really

cute and I really enjoy reading through these volumes. So I would love to pick

this up to kind of break up the longer novels that I'll be reading throughout

the day. And then, you all know my favorite graphic novel series is

Lumberjanes. This is volume 8 the latest volume of the series. It's called

Stone Cold and I would love to pick this up on Saturday as well. Again a super

light-hearted read about a group of friends who are at summer camp and they

go on all these like, mythical adventures. It's great. I don't know how successful

Saturday is going to be but I have a lot of options to pull from. Of course I

don't think I'm gonna get through all of these but we're gonna try and hopefully

it's just a really awesome reading day. But that's gonna do it for this Friday

Reads video. I hope you guys enjoyed. If you did please leave a big thumbs up.

Subscribe if you haven't already. I do try to make a new video each and every

week and I will see you guys again very soon. Bye!

Linda Bell, Patient Care Technician - Duration: 0:40.

- I do remember my first day.

I was nervous as all get out.

That was 24 years ago, on Valentine's Day.

I can't believe it.

The clinic I work in, I get to work with kids all day,

so I drive to work with a smile on my face.

They teach you how to listen

and they're very honest.

The reward is really mine.

I'm there to help them, but they really are helping me.

I love my job, I get to work with a good group of people

and I get to meet some of the best families there ever were.

That's what's kept me here for 24 years.

Karate Kid 3 Review - Easily Distracted Movie Review - Duration: 14:06.

Defeat does not exist in this dojo

We do not train to be merciful here mercy is for the weak

We've seen Daniel LaRusso go from scrawny nobody to champion at the All-Valley Tournament under the guidance of the wise Mr.

Miyagi and go on to become

The best around

We then saw Miyagi and Daniel travel to Okinawa to settle a blood feud in a fight

For the glory of love

It is all led up to

this

Daniel must face his biggest challenge yet

He has to face some

Bad boys, bad boys. Boys will be boys

I'm sorry. This movie doesn't really have an iconic song to go along with it, so I had to choose Gloria Estefan's Bad Boy

But honestly it kind of fits. Karate Kid 3 picks up almost where Karate Kid 2 leaves off

We meet up with Sensei Kreese who is just in a downward spiral

He lost all of his students and Cobra Kai was dropped from the All Valley Tournament

Membership. All that just because he came in second at the tournament last year

And you know he tried to choke out one of his students

It it was probably mainly the choking thing

You know probably 80/20 you know in the original Karate Kid

I just assumed that Kreese owned the Cobra Kai dojo but Karate Kid 3 decided that wasn't interesting enough

So we find that Cobra Kai is actually owned by billionaire businessman Terry Silver

What do you think I bought that place for the rent I bought it for you

Look at this 10 years ago nuclear was the preferred waste. You could dump it anywhere. Now everybody's a detective

I'm lucky if I make one deal a year without being indicted. Thank you

I'm not quite sure what Terry's business is is it some sort of karate training slash nuclear waste disposal company

seems like a very niche market

We learned that Kreese saved Terry's life in Vietnam and Terry really honors the life

Debt by putting his entire life on hold to get back at a teenage boy that he's never met

Terry vows to destroy Daniel and Miyagi and sends Kreese to Tahiti while he takes care of everything I bought 20 locations today yours 100%

You are back my man, bigger and badder than ever

I'm really starting to question

How Terry made his money because he seems like a terrible businessman

Kreese ran his soul dojo into the damn ground and your plan is to give him 20 more

I don't think the problem was that he didn't have enough dojos

I think the problem was the child abuse well or once again like you know 70/30 mabye. But what about those two jerks?

Those 2 jerks are taking up 100% of my time from now on when I'm finished with that kid. He'll be begging me to be his teacher

Johnny by the time that little twerp steps into the ring to defend his title I'm gonna have him thinking he's invincible

You know in my personal experience

adults having vendetta's against teenagers

Always works out well. So the first part of Terry's plan is to recruit the bad boy of karate Mike Barnes to enter the tournament

And torment Daniel into also entering the tournament.

What do you mean? You can't dump it in Borneo who in Borneo knows what chloride sludge is. Do it

Call me when it's done

Does he export nuclear waste does his business produce it as a by-product. What does he do?

The grand jury what do you intend to do about them? Bribe them as usual

You know Terry seems like he'd be right at home in a kid's movie playing an

International jewel thief whose schemes are constantly being thwarted by a baby

So Terry invites Mike Barnes to his house and conducts a business meeting with him while taking a bubble bath

Yeah, it's a good thing your secretary and two other people are here or else this would seem pretty strange. Snake Dennis Mike Barnes

Dennis will take care of your training Snake takes care of everything else

You're looking to be a bad boy in LA Snake's the boy to be bad with right Snake?

You know it

What?

What does that even mean?

They are the perfect bad-boy combo Mike the bad boy of karate and Snake

The bad boy that puts out Terry's clothes in the morning is my guess

You said that if I come down here, and I beat this

LaRusso kid the All-Valley tournament that you'd give me twenty five percent ownership in your new dojo wait. I'm gonna need fifty percent

I don't know if I can afford more than thirty five. It's nice meeting everybody hey, you fight as hard as you negotiate

Harder

You got you fifty percent. How did Terry rise to the top of the hiding nuclear-waste in Borneo business with negotiation skills like that

Mike Barnes is a kid. He just doubled what his initial agreement was

This is why you don't do business in a bubble-bath. Snake show him to his room. Yes, sir. Show him to his room?

He's living there now

Do Mike's parents not care that their underage son is now living with an eccentric billionaire?

That is only acceptable if the billionaire fights crime and even then its bordering on some pretty shady territory?

Because Daniel really doesn't want to go to college

He spends his tuition money on a two-month lease in what I'm guessing is an old abandoned doll Factory so Mr

Miyagi can open a bonsai tree shop and

The majority of the rest of this movie is devoted to the ins and outs of opening a small business because when you get to

The third movie in a franchise you give the people what they want more action more

Drama, this is good material. We can make shelves out of this stuff

I thought this would be a great spot to do like that like a bonsai display this would be a great spot for

Like a little work area

More scouting out areas to put bonsai trees. I even thought of a name check it out Mr Miyagi's Little Trees

Simple direct catchy. It is none of those things. We find out that there's a new rule in the All Valley

Tournament that states that since Daniel's the defending champ

He only has to fight in the final match like he's *bleep* Shang Tsung or something

Oh my god, and Daniel somehow manages to fall ass-backwards into a date with yet another girl

That is way out of his league

This is the least plausible recurring theme of this series. Terry breaks into Daniels apartment after he gets out of the shower

You know if Terry's not careful his complete and total obsession for revenge over a boy he's never even met might start to get weird

I mean can't Snake and Dennis do this

This seems like the exact thing that would fall under the category of bad boy stuff. I mean breaking and entering

That's like bad boy 101

Daniel-san look good. Yeah, thanks for the shirt, I love it

Oh my god, and he's borrowing Mr Miyagi's shirt for his date. I don't know how the hell you do it Daniel

In a deleted scene

They had Terry fall into the fire bottom first and run around

Comically with smoke coming off his butt until he could stick his rear end into a conveniently placed

barrel of water and let out a contented sigh

They cut it because they didn't want the character of Terry to be too silly. You all set to go

After you hear this you just might change your mind. What do you have poison oak? A boyfriend. You know

We've been talking on the phone. I don't know we're gonna give it another try when I go home

Okay, that seems more like what should happen every time Daniel talks to a girl Daniels gonna replay this event over and over and he'll

Ultimately come to the conclusion that she took one look at his old man shirt and called an audible

It's refreshing. I mean we could go dutch okay

I've been her for two months and I haven't even met any friends

Well meet your first friend. All right. Daniel's so upbeat, but it's pretty easy to tell that he's dying inside

Daniel's paid a visit by an extremely tightly wound Mike Barnes and Snake. We heard you weren't entering the All Valley this year.

So we'd like you to reconsider. Give me the application. Listen I said forget about it right. I'm not gonna- Sign it

Okay listen, I'm not signing the application. Sign it and let's get on with it

I call this the bad boy special (grunts) bad boy down

Haha, those are some bad boys

Mr Miyagi

My name is Terry Silver. My master is Kim Sun Yong of South Korea my teacher sends his respects

Again this is a billionaire spending his Saturday playing pretend so that he can manipulate an eighteen year old into entering a karate tournament

John Kreese of the Cobra Kai dojo was our school's number one student, I buried John last week

He's dead what happened? After he lost all his students. It broke his heart. I'm sorry to interrupt your training

Sorry to hear about death of friend

Huh yeah you uh?

Got em good stupid jerks really felt bad that someone died. What a bunch of idiots

Let him up punk

Ever see you even on the same street as this kid I won't be so charitable with your health

Once again, this is a man who has more money than God and this morning

He most likely rehearsed the staged fight more than once in order to fool a young man

Daniel gives the Cobra Kai dojo to ask Terry to train him since Mr Miyagi

Refuses to. So has Terry just been doing Karate for hours in the hopes that Daniel would show up or was he camped out by

a window ready to jump up and do some karate when he saw Daniel walking down the street? Terry agrees to train Daniel and just

Absolutely brutalizes him by teaching him the Quicksilver method rule number one a

Man can't stand, he can't fight. Buy him some uncomfortable shoes as a gift and since he doesn't want to be rude

He'll totally wear them

Rule number two man can't breathe he can't fight. So fight him underwater. Rule number three a

Man can't see he can't fight. So switch out his glasses with glasses that aren't his prescription it'll be hilarious

When he's close enough

Yeah, but that would be face contact. I'd be disqualified. You won the last tournament by drop-kicking someone in the face

So I honestly don't think the judges really care. Christ. I'm wasting my time

You have a huge mansion that you could be in right now

Daniel breaks down and decides that he doesn't want to learn the Cobra Kai way of fighting and goes to tell Terry that he's done

It's the middle of the night does Terry just sleep there in case Daniel shows up

You are gonna defend

From the moment you met me I've been making you do things you didn't want to do. Show him what I'm talking about

I'm what he's talking about *bleep* Was you just standing back there waiting for your cue. I'm not gonna be there so just forget about

Holy *bleep* what where did Kreese come from?

I wanna see a lot more. Bring him back

You three absolute weirdos are in for it now

You think this is the end of it old man? I'm gonna open Cobra Kai dojos all over this valley

So his big revenge is bringing economic stimulus back to the community

I might even teach for free

That would really help out the poorer families in the neighborhood oh

That is very kind of you. So Terry's dynamite plan finally comes to fruition and it's time for the All Valley tournament

So the All Valley

Tournament went from a fun all-day event to two bleachers worth of people having to watch some dude who doesn't even live in the area

Yell at people

Not bowing to your opponent guess you're earning the name of bad boy today

Yeah, Mike Barnes has proven that you have to really try to get disqualified from the tournament this year

The people in the stands are probably having so much fun right now

The wild Larusso begins posturing and preening thus confusing his bewildered foe and then

the LaRusso strikes

So now that Daniel has won two years in a row the rules state that he doesn't even have to show up to the tournament

Next year the winner will have to come to Daniel's house and Daniel's allowed to use a gun on him and oh come on

Problem Solving at PacMoore – Understanding Comes First - Duration: 1:44.

I'm Gary VanDeLaarschot and I am the President and Chief Operating Officer at PacMoore.

I started with PacMoore in early 2015.

I think as an organization, one of the things that we do a lot of is problem-solve for our customers.

They come to us with challenges that we have to solve and so

as a leader in the organization,

I think one of the things that I try to do

is first and foremost understand what the need is.

And I think that same principle applies when you're

working with people in the organization.

As leaders we're charged with trying to help solve problems.

And solve organizational problems.

So one of the things I like to try to do is really

very clearly understand what's going on behind the scenes.

What are the facts that are troubling a particular situation or causing a problem?

And so I drill into that a lot, and really try to understand

before we or I try to bring the group that I might be working with to a conclusion.

And so I think that's an important

part is really just understanding

what it is we're trying to solve to, and what are all the different things that are

important?

To the individuals involved, and try to

bring out of the group all the different opinions and all of the different

possible solutions and really try to solve things as a group

as opposed to an individual or myself trying to solve a particular problem.

[3x11] Simbar fight / Translation - Duration: 4:49.

I hope now you know how the step works

Did we rehearse it three or four times? Or ten? I don't know

I don't know either. Many times. Juliana said

we're supposed to stay here and practice until it's perfect

[Ámbar] and Benicio learned it [Simón] Yes I know

So were is Benicio?

I don't know but I'd love to know

I don't know either

Why don't you call him? It's ridiculous that we're rehearsing here so he can practice

and learn the step if he isn't even here, you know?

I have a lot of things to do. I have to work in the cafeteria

Do you understand me?

So you want to tell me you prefer to see me skating with him?

So go. Nobody obligates you to be here if you don't want to

No believe me, if I could decide I wouldn't be here

I'd do something completely different

[Ámbar] However [Simón] No it's the truth

but Gary told me to be here so I'm doing my work

Of course, right. Excuse me

I forget I was talking to the best guy of this world

who does what the whole world wants him to

You know what Simón? I think you like having an excuse to be with me

You know what? I think it's exactly the other way around

I mean you're looking for every excuse being by my side. Why?

I really like skating with you. More than with anyone else

We're connecting very well or do you want to deny that?

Imagine we would continue skating together. We'd be incredible, unstoppable

Yes but that will never happen. Never because I'm not in that team

Well I could change that quickly

Yes if I want to but I'm not interested

I don't believe you

What you're doing isn't what you're feeling

Ámbar I'm not lying. I'm telling the truth. I mean

you're putting yourself into this costumes so no one can see your true face, don't you?

I see, I see, I see. Enough. I don't care what you want to say

Maybe I haven't made it clear to you but I will

I'm not playing with anybody and I can't stand people playing with me

We rehearsed and the steps are clear

I'll go and if Benicio comes in 30 days, one year

10 minutes or when ever

you can explain the step to him. Try that Ámbar

Simón wait, wait

Before you got crazy and angry I wanted to congrat you

You were very good at the Open

Thanks

When will we sing together?

Never

Why? Are you afraid Simón?

Look into my eyes and tell me you're not dying to sing with me

Do you know what I'm dying to do?

Yes what will you do?

No it's unbelievable. You have no limits

[Ámbar] No [Simón] No but that's not good

Ámbar didn't you realise that I honestly want the best for you?

Please open your eyes Ámbar

Oh no not again. Aren't you bored giving me advices for life all over again?

That aren't advices for life. That are advices for a person I

I want the best for you okay?

but you're going and hanging out with people who are breaking you and you don't even notice

and I'm here to help you noticing that it's bad and that you're wrong

hanging out with them but you don't listen to me

you think I'm a teacher who gives you advices for life but it isn't like that

Are you ready?

I only want you to stop lying for once in your life Simón

You don't want to be just my friend. You want to be much more than that
