I just said goodbye to Shoshana. It's so weird because

finally we spent a lot of time together.

But in fact that is traveling : meeting amazing people and then tell them goodbye.

Let me explain to you the circumstances, I'm literally along the border between Israel and Jordan.

I just passed a passport control that allow people to cross the border.

Quite simply. And on the other side there is a palm grove.

This is just to describe a little bit the decor.

I had promised myself not to talk about veganism in this video, because that's not the point.

But I'm walking right by a place where thousands of cows are penned.

Waiting for their time to be eaten.

Actually I didn't tell you everything. If I am walking and not already hitchhiking,

It's because I want to stop at the Flamingo Belvedere.

This is a place where I hope to be able to see flamingos.

And I already start to see a lot of birds. It's nice.

Ok so... the nature reserve was really cool as much as the belvedere is slightly disappointing.

Yes sorry I'm coming out of the shower. Plus I am exhausted. I must have red eyes.

So in fact I almost didn't mention today's day, because it was mostly a big fail.

But finally I thought it was important to talk about fails during travels.

And not to only show what is going well because it's not reality.

So, after the birds observatory, I absolutely wanted to go to this belvedere.

This famous belvedere of flamingos, which was nice, I saw lots of flamingos.

I was pretty happy. But I was expecting it to be a touristic place

where I would find cars to hitchhike where I would find a place to eat etc.

But nothing at all. So I had to keep walking.

I walked about three hours in the same direction, for nothing.

Since, actually, once arrived at Elifaz, where I wanted to sleep

and then be ready to start walking tomorrow very early in the morning at Timna Park.

Well then, at Elifaz, there was only one campsite for 75 € per night

for a single room since I do not have a tent.

Which means way beyond my budget. So, back out.

Fortunately I found a car which drove me back to Eilat.

And get back to this hostel where I sleep, so Corinne Hostel in Eilat.

And same thing tomorrow. The bad news is I have huge blisters on my feet.

So I hope tomorrow I will be okay

Since right now just standing up is really painful.

That's it. Well, otherwise, chin up! I hope tomorrow will be a better day than today.

Illustrator 3D Pattern LOGO DESIGN TUTORIAL - Duration: 7:20.

I have three steps in today's Illustrator 3d pattern logo design

tutorial and in the first step we designed the pattern itself and the

second step is how to efficiently make the 3d pattern and finally we add some

neat gradients in the third and final step

what is that people welcome back to Satori graphics the home of graphic

design content right here on YouTube remember that if you want to improve

your graphic design skills and your awareness for business as a designer

subscribe to my channel for weekly graphic design content so the first step

in today's 3d pattern logo design tutorial is to make the pattern itself

this is quite simple so follow along and let's make a neat 3d logo design in

Illustrator press command or control R to open up the rulers and then control a

right click the canvas if you can't see the rulers you then need to drag a guide

on to the page that perfectly lines up with a measurement at the very top of

the rulers what the measurement is doesn't matter too much we're going to

hold down the alt option key and click and drag to duplicate the guide once you

carefully duplicate it over to the side using the measurements at the top then

press command or control D to repeat the process several times over you should

end up with a line of guides like so make sure that you have the stroke

selected in the color palette and then press M for the rectangle tool you can

create a perfect square by holding down shift and then we want to use the middle

of the square to align with the furthest right guide on your screen increase the

stroke weight as something that fits around a third of the gap between two of

your guides as we're now going to make the basis for the pattern of our logo

design it's important that for the next step

you have the scale stroke options turned off in the list rate of preferences

click the square and press command or control C to copy it and then press

command or control F to paste a duplicate exactly in place over the top

by holding down both shift and the alt/option key you can click and drag to

resize the square like so from here you then simply repeat the process of

copying in the new square and then pasting it in place with command or

control F this is going to be the foundation of a 3d pattern in today's

local design tutorial to finish step one we simply need to take the pen tool by

pressing P on your keyboard and then draw a section like so carefully making

a path along the pattern

access a selection tool and highlight the shape then press R for the rotate

tool carefully drag the blue target icon into the center of your pattern click

once and then hold down the alt/option key and click again in the new box that

appears type in 90 degrees and then hit copy press command or control D to

repeat the process two more times and voila you now have the pattern ready to

go into step 2 in today's illustrator 3d pattern logo design tutorial but first

you need to outline the stroke of the lines and then unite them in the

Pathfinder window making everything on one vector shape we want to open up the

perspective grid for the next step in today's logo design tutorial for the 3d

pattern design we want to make one side of the grid have one narrow perspective

you can do this by clicking and dragging the handles of the grid on the far left

like so

then when you're ready resize down your pattern and use the auto option key to

duplicate it over to one side because we're going to need two patterns to make

up the 3d aspect of the Logo design

notice the widget in the top right of my screen if you don't see this on your

screen you can double click the perspective grid tool in the toolbar and

it will open up when you do find it highlight the rights are inside of the

cube which will allow us to apply the pattern to the right-hand side of the

grid take the perspective grid selection tool and simply click and drag the

pattern and place it on your grid then highlight the blue left side of the

widget and do the same thing with a second pattern carefully place onto the

grid and press command or control Z if you make a mistake lastly in this step

just hide the grid like Sarah if you're enjoying today's logo design tutorial

rectangle tool and create a dark background for your design send the

rectangle to the very back of all objects and then lock it down in place

for the right-hand-side shape i added a gold gradient fill to the object

it's a two-tone gradient of yellow almost white in color stretching out to

a dark gold color experiment with the direction of the gradient by changed in

degrees value but I've set the dark tone coming from the bottom right the shape

then on the second half of the 3d pattern logo I use a silver gradient

this was achieved by sampling two grayscale colors from the gradient

window and again experiment with this and you might even want to lower the

opacity of this shape to make it less bright finally add some logo type to the

3d logo design and you'll set and down if you did find my content useful today

Thames Time Tunnel (the Woolwich Foot Tunnel Anomaly) - Duration: 7:19.

Gordon Wright's job was to lay tile, that is, to replace leaky tiles, in the Woolwich

foot tunnel, which crosses under the river Thames.

Just inside the entrance to the pedestrian subway, he turned to the outside, to gage

the day's weather.

The sky was full of birds.

To Gordon they did not appear to be moving.

They were frozen in place, in just one of the anamolies, generated by the Thames time tunnel.

The Woolwich foot tunnel was open to the public in 1912, so that dockyard workers could avoid

using the ferry, to cross the river Thames, between their homes and their place of work.

Excavating this tunnel, was an engineering nightmare, because of the saturation of the

bed under the river.

The riverbed was a mixture of sand and silt, and under high pressure at depth, the ground

becomes liquid.

As the excavation proceeded, the sides and roof of the muddy passage were shored up by

the workmen who followed behind, with such speed that the project was threatened with

flooding, only on rare occasions.

Could the original builders, Walter Scott & Middleton, have owed their success to an

anomaly in space-time?

Could the flow of water underground have been slowed, or even halted?

Former Woolwich resident, Leonard Dignan, recalls using the foot tunnel regularly in

1959.

He says it always took him longer to walk north, than it did to walk the same passage

south.

This effect of time dilation was more pronounced when the earth was disturbed by tunnel workmen.

Scandal haunted the repair of the tunnel in 2011, whispers of shortcuts in construction,

and rumors of kickbacks to building inspectors.

That is because, this was the only refurbishment, in the history of the London Department of

Transport, to be completed eight months before deadline, and which used less than half of

the money in its budget.

A handful of the contractors have recently come forward, with a remarkable explanation,

for a job that seems to have been rushed.

They claim to have spent many hours working underground, but they would emerge from the

tunnel, only minutes after entering it.

Time would continue at a normal pace topside, but in the depths of the Woolwich pedestrian

subway, time stood still.

The inside of the pedestrian tube is lined with white tile... not a shade of ivory, but

the bright white color of an egg shell.

The leaky tiles needed to be replaced.

Work was begun from both ends, and one side might grow short on construction materials.

When a foreman at the southern entrance called by radio for more tiles, the transport of

the pallet through the tunnel was assigned to Gordon Wright.

According to Mr. Wright, he arrived at the southern end with a fully loaded pallet, exactly

as the boss was setting down his radio.

"I just called this in," the foreman said.

"How did you get here so fast?"

It soon became obvious to everyone on the project, that the Woolwich Foot Tunnel anamoly

could be of great advantage.

Contractors arriving at eight AM could get in a full days work, and leave the site only

minutes later, at eight-o-five.

They would get the rest of the day off.

Management on the job, believed the records of hours worked, had to be hidden from their

masters in the Department of Transport, because workers were clocking in and out every day,

in less than ten minutes.

One contractor claims that the twelve months during which he worked on passage repairs,

were the worst three years of his life.

His family warned him that he appeared to be aging at an accelerated rate, but he ignored

the warning signs.

Another contractor sounds like he is only half joking, when he says the tunnel was originally

built, with assistance from the Ministry of Magic, so that no time would be lost by the

dockyard laborers, as they walked through it.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Already 'Expecting Twins' After The Couple For Honeymoon Babies - Duration: 2:42.

Just 1 month after tying the knot, a new report claims Meghan Markle is pregnant with not

one, but two babies!

She & Prince Harry allegedly found out immediately after their honeymoon, and they're filled

with 'happiness!'

The report from magazine claims that Meghan is already pregnant just a few weeks after

tying the knot, and that the couple is expecting twins.

The report claimed that the couple first shared the news with Kate Middleton and Prince William,

though word has apparently gotten around.

The two found out they were expecting upon returning from their honeymoon in East Africa

after their wedding on May 19, according to OK magazine, and the outlet also claims they

haven't been able to keep quiet about the exciting news!

"They were so supportive," a source for magazine told the mag.

"[Harry and Meghan] are just so over the moon with happiness!

They didn't expect it to happen so soon, and they were all the more giddy to learn

they were having two — one a boy, the other a girl."

Harry also reportedly confided in his dad, Prince Charles; his stepmom, Camilla; and

even Queen Elizabeth II.

Already the royal cannot wait to be a father — and Meghan feels the same way.

Just last week, on June 14, Meghan revealed to a well-wisher that Harry is "the best

husband" ever, and it seems he also wants to be the best dad ever.

To ensure motherhood goes smoothly for Meghan, and is everything she's ever wished for,

Harry is allegedly willing to raise the twins in the US with Meghan, so that she can be

close to home.

"Meghan has made countless sacrifices to adjust to royal life," the insider explained.

"He knows part of her heart will always be in California, and he wants to ensure that

the woman of his dreams — and the mother of his children — is content."

Meghan clearly isn't showing yet, as the above photo was taken just last week, but

if she IS pregnant, OK! claims she's determined to have a smooth pregnancy.

"Kate is sharing tips on everything from concealing a baby bump at royal functions

to her favorite prenatal workouts," the outlet's source said.

"She's had access to the very best health experts throughout her pregnancies, so she's

happy to let Meghan in on everything she knows."

Only time will tell if the newly-crowned duchess truly is expecting, but for now, nothing has

been confirmed!

-But then you also said -- and I found this a little strange --

that's okay, because you can tell everything about a book,

including the entire plot and all the characters,

just by looking at the cover.

-That's exactly what I said to you, yes.

And I will admit that I find that a little hard to believe.

-Why? [ Light laughter ]

-Well, books -- some books are 500, 600 pages.

And it seems like one image would not be enough

to give you every twist and turn in the plot of a novel.

-I don't think that's true. I don't agree.

-And, of course, Amor Towles wrote it.

And, um, it's, you know, about the rules of civility.

[ Light laughter ] So it's -- this is -- it's a --

it's a kind of, um -- it's a heartwarming --

the plot is -- it's a -- it's a sort of --

it's a mystery. -Uh-huh.

-And it's a heartwarming mystery, and what happens --

-A heartwarming mystery about the rules of civility.

-Yes. -Okay.

-And so, it's this -- this hotel in Moscow.

[ Laughter ] And some of the -- the --

the rooms are very expensive, and some are very cheap.

So this one guy comes in, and he's like,

"I don't want to spend too much, but I still want a room where,

you know, it has a bed and a bathroom and stuff."

And so the owner is like, "I've got something for you.

The only thing is,

you can't turn around once you're in there."

[ Laughter ]

"Can't turn around."

He's like, "What's the dif--

it's my own priv-- I can do whatever I want."

He's like, "I'm just asking you,

if we're gonna do this, please don't turn around."

-Oh, so there's space to turn around.

The owner of the hotel just doesn't want him to turn around.

-Exactly. -Okay.

-So he brings him up to this sort of second floor.

-How many pages into the novel would you say we're at?

-This is about halfway through.

-Okay, good. [ Laughter ]

-It's because of the language.

The language is beautiful. -Okay.

[ Laughter ] -It's just wonderful language,

just words playing into each other,

just really wonderful, so -- -No, I think we all get it,

based on what you've been doing with your hands.

-Yes. -Yeah.

-So, they bring him up to this room.

And he's like, "Okay, great."

And, so, like, the -- the --

the bellman pushes him, like, right up to the balcony.

And he's like -- [ Laughter ]

-Oh, so that's maybe... -That's it.

-...this moment here? -Yes.

-Okay. -He's like, "Look at that view.

Isn't that great? Don't turn around."

[ Laughter ]

"Do not turn around. But this is your room."

And then he just leaves.

And the rest of the book is him just looking out the window

and enjoying the view. [ Laughter ]

-That's fantastic. -Yes.

-Now, I will say that, according to the book itself,

this says, "In 1922, Count Alexander Rostov

is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat

by a Bolshevik tribunal

and is sentenced to house arrest

in the Metropol, a grand hotel..."

the beautiful craft of paper cut light boxes to our artistic arsenal

we'll be putting together these enchanched and scenes

with little more than some odds and ends from the hardware store

some cardboard and most importantly some creative know how

and to acquire this know how we'll be taking a look at some of the amazing

things people have managed to pull off using this technique

then with lessons learned we'll craft our light boxes using seven layers to set the scene

well I think it's time to go pick up some tips on how to put light in a box

and force its perspective

so as always we took a look around online to get a sense of what's worked

for people in the past and see what lessons and inspiration we can walk away with

and as always there was a staggering amounts of Awesomeness to be found there

and with it many tips and tricks we can use in our own project

first of all when selecting subject matter for your scene

keep in mind the layers need room to be secured around the edges inside the box

so set yourself up for victory by choosing environments that form holding

devices easily like inside the branches of a forest or in a cave on land or at sea

whether it's clouds over rolling hills

water buildings in a cityscape we need something to form the window into your scene

then it's time to select some subject matter to breathe life into the environment you've selected

just be creative and choose something that looks like it belongs in the scene

whether it's from one of your favorite series or books

whether it's majestic or spooky it's totally up to you

to give you an edge in composing dramatic scenes keep these simple tricks in mind

because they can help turn a great work into astonishingly impressive pieces

first of all to maximize the depth in your scenes remember to make the detail on

subsequent layers smaller and smaller so that the relative scale to higher up

layers makes them look very far away

this can also be done with the subject

to make the body look like it stretches far into the distance

second remember even though this style mostly makes use of silhouettes

there are ways of adding secondary detail like cutting fine elements out of

the figures or speckling with pinpricks to give the appearance of texture

and finally consider adding some non-paper objects to your scene

it can have some very unexpected and interesting results

all right let's go put a plan together for our projects

first we'll need to construct a box to contain the frames spacers and LED strip

then we'll use paper clay to sculpt the border of the box up followed by a paint job

we'll also need to make some spacers to hold the frames in place

with our designs in mind we can start to draw and then cut out each frame

now we just need to place our frames spacers and lastly the LEDs into the box

alright so here we have our materials

some 160 grain project board

polystyrene sheet for the spacers

a couple of two by nine planks of pine

a hard board sheet for the front and back

a bottle of wood glue

some small screws to secure the pack in place

some matte white spray paint

and a roll of color changing LED strip with a power source the control box and a remote control

we're also using some paper clay to sculpt up the frame which

is an unnecessary but nice touch and if you would like to make some paper clay

for yourself we have a video on just how to do that link in the description below

some sandpaper will also help us refine the shape of the sculpted frame and make

the sides nice and smooth

and now here are the tools

a jigsaw for cutting the hard board sheet

a saw and miter box for cutting the planks nice and straight

a drill and a wood bit for setting the screws and making a hole for the cable

a screwdriver

a corner clamp

a glue gun with some glue sticks

a serrated knife for cutting the polystyrene

a ruler and pencil for making precise measurements

a tape measure for when the ruler won't cut it

and finally

we have our cutting implements for cutting out our design

so now we're ready to get busy making our light boxes

first we'll need to make a box to house the frames spacers and LEDs

we're using A4 card stock for the frames

so the inside measurements for the box need to be the same

the depth of your box will determine the number of layers you'll be able to house comfortably

with the LED strip at the back

if each frame is one centimeter thick with a spacer this means our scene will be made up of seven layers

once we've figured out the measurements for our box

we'll go ahead and mark this wood up for our first cut

we'll use a miter box to get nice straight cuts on the bits of wood needed for the box

we'll also be needing some back covers

and borders for the front to stop the frames and spaces from falling out

I think a bit of hardboard will be up to this job

once everything is cut out we can start to assemble our boxes

by first sticking the corners together with wood glue and our corner clamp

once those are dry stick the right angle pieces together to form the rectangle shape we're after

and once that's dry

we can stick the components for the front border onto the box also using a bit of wood glue

for the back we're going to use screws

so once again we measure a mark

where we want them to go and then we'll drill some holes into the box

we also need to drill a large hole in the back cover for the LEDs power cord to go through

we want the boarder of the box to reflect the scene inside

so we're going to use a bit of paper clay to sculpt up the border

once the paper clay is thoroughly dry we can refine the shape a bit

and smooth the sides with some sandpaper of various grains

now our boxes are ready for a coat of white spray paint

let's also give the inside of the back cover a coat so it reflects the light better

all right so now our boxes are ready to house our scenes

so let's move on to building the spacers and then designing and etching out our frames

most people use foam board for their spacers

but we chose to go with polystyrene because it was less than half the price

once we have our measurements marked up we can cut the sheets into strips

and then those strips can be cut into the carefully measured segments that will form our spacers

now that we have enough of the two different lengths we will need

we can begin to stick them all together using a bit of hot glue

great with all our spaces done we can move on to the creative part of this project

you can design your frames on a computer and then print them out and trace them onto your cardboard

but we're just going to wing it with a pencil

to show you that you can still get a good result even if you aren't tech savvy

what we like to do is go frame by frame drawing the details

and then itching them out with a sharp blade

so that the following frame can be drawn through the holes you just cut

this ensures that the best features of your

current frame won't be covered up by the elements of the previous frame

this can be a lot of work and quite time-consuming so brace yourself if

you're thinking of giving it a go

but I'm sure we can all agree that the results are well worth the time and effort

finally we just need to stick the LED strip in

pull the power cord through the hole

and then screw the back cover on
