Subscriber Growth - Why You Need a YouTube Growth Mindset - Duration: 9:25.
Let's talk about YouTube Subscriber growth and the five lessons that I have learned about
having a YouTube growth mindset.
Oh, and I do have a bonus lesson at the end of the video.
My name is Naomi Skarzinski with the Top Shelf VA Channel and TopShelfVA.com.
Your place for creativity and inspiration for business and life.
Now if you have a creative soul, and you love a little bit of business and life, and you
love a little bit of creativity, then go ahead hit that subscribe button and the notification
bell.
And before I get into the main meat of the video, let me just say, "Thank you, thank
you, and thank you for being a subscriber and helping me to grow my channel to 600+
subscribers.
And if you're not a subscriber yet, well thank you for being here, and thank you for
watching the video, and possibly becoming a subscriber a little bit later.
It's been a really great ride and I've enjoyed building this channel with you.
So, let's go ahead and talk about the five definitive lessons that I have learned about
YouTube subscriber growth and having a YouTube growth mindset.
Now I might have a little bit of a different perspective on YouTube growth and YouTube
subscribers than other YouTubers and YouTube channels.
So, let's go ahead and see how they might be a little bit different.
Lesson 1.
One big mistake I think many people make is they say, "I'm going to start a YouTube
channel and make a ton of money!"
Well, if that's the only reason that you're starting a YouTube channel, to make a ton
of money, I would suggest going out and getting second job, because that is totally the wrong
mindset to have.
YouTube takes a lot of hard work, time, and some investment of money.
You can't go and have your only priority benchmark to be, "I'm going to make tons
of money on YouTube!"
You need to be able to set other benchmarks, higher bench marks, of what success is to
you, other than just making money.
Lesson 2.
Your channel should be about helping people.
There needs to be a purpose to your channel.
Whether it's training, it's educating, it's inspiring, it's entertainment, it's
motivational, whatever it is.
As long as it is helping other people.
I can guarantee you.
As long as you are helping other people in some way with your channel, then you are going
to get far more fulfillment out of your channel than if you were doing a channel just for
the purposes of chasing the money.
Lesson 3.
Don't be afraid to experiment and find what works for your channel and for your audience.
What works for someone else's channel, may not work for your channel.
Try to find out what your audience wants and still make sure that it is what you want to
do.
You will fail if you hate what you do.
It has to be like a balancing act between what your audience wants and what you love
to do.
Lesson 4.
Be realistic about your subscriber growth.
This is where your YouTube growth mindset is going to come into play.
Let me give you an example of what I mean about by being realistic.
Everyone will tell you for fast YouTube channel growth, and I mean everyone, everyone, will
tell you that you need to be niched.
I'm not a niched person.
Never have been a niched person.
Never will be a niched person.
I am an eclectic person.
I have interests in a variety of areas and I'm going to fuse those interests into one
channel.
That's where I got the term, Eclectic Fusion for Business and Life for my channel.
Everyone will also tell you that in order to grow your channel fast, that you need to
upload and publish every single solitary day.
Or, at the minimum, you need to upload three times a week.
Well guess what, I have a business.
I'm a Virtual Assistant, Online Business Manager.
I have clients.
I work from eight to six, nine to five, every day, except for weekends.
So, that only leaves me the evenings and weekends to work on my YouTube channel.
Well, I also believe in having a personal life beyond my business and beyond my YouTube
channel.
Those are my choices.
So that's my reality and that's how I'm being realistic.
I'm being realistic that my channel is not going to grow at the same speed as another
YouTuber that can dedicate 24/7 to his or her channel.
I'm having a realistic overview, or realistic expectation out of my channel.
Lesson 5.
Learn from other YouTubers on how to grow your channel.
There are a ton of YouTube content creators out there that will teach you how to grow
your channel, how to start it, how to build it, how to get subscribers, and how to have
fast growth.
The four that I really like.
That I started following in 2016 are as follows, and it's not specifically that one is better than the
other, it's just this is how, the order that I found them.
The first one was Tim Schmoyer, with Video Creators.
Very, very sound, and good advice.
He really focuses on what your purpose is.
Why you have your channel.
How you're going to grow your channel and always staying within what your purpose is.
The second person that I start following was Roberto Blake.
Very unique, very interesting gentleman.
He has a channel for creatives and that's how I found him.
He really, when I first found him, he was focusing on the creative person and the creative
design person who was interested in building their businesses.
Starting a design business or just whatever creative realm that person was in, and helping
them build their YouTube channel within the creative realm.
Even if you're not a designer or anything, you should still listen to him because very
sound advice.
The other person was Nick Nimmin.
Excellent video creator.
Excellent information.
He does a lot of live you YouTube events now, where he gives a lot of information to his
subscribers.
I would highly advise listening to him and subscribing to him.
You can't go wrong.
The last person I discovered is Brian G. Johnson.
Really unique, quirky, fun person that has grown his YouTube channel in little over
a year.
Very, very, fast.
I think he's at 20,000 or something like that.
So, he went from 0 to 20 in something like a year and a half or something like that.
Gives great information.
The only thing is, you will have to feed his poodles.
You will have to feed his poodles.
No, seriously, you will have to feed his poodles.
But let me give you a screenshot of how I grew in just a year, with my being realistic
with my business and not being able to dedicate fully to my YouTube channel 24/7.
You can see I had significant increase to my channel just from taking some advice from
these individuals.
So, let's go on to your bonus lesson.
Take everything you have learned from everyone else, including me, and throw out at least
a quarter of it.
Yes, I'm serious.
Throw away some of that advice.
Listen to the advice.
Experiment with the advice and then decide what part of the advice you're going to
keep and what part you're going to throw away.
Remember, you are a unique, beautiful, different, individual.
Your channel is going to be unique and different.
When people come to your channel, there's going to be something about you, about your
channel that says, "I want to subscribe to this person.
I want to watch this person's video because I haven't seen anything like this before."
Or "This person has something that I need to learn about."
When you copy somebody else's advice 100% of the time and you copy the person's channel
100% of the way they do their channel, then you're no longer unique.
You are a unique individual.
Trust yourself.
Believe in yourself.
Find ways to help other people with what you have to share on your channel.
Believe me, your channel, your business, your life, is going to be so much the better when
you trust yourself, and you be your own unique self.
Once again, thank you for being a subscriber.
Thank you for helping me to build my channel and until we meet again, have a wonderful
day!"

Tesla Model S 90D: Rated Range Degradation 38000 Miles 74 Weeks Ownership W/Chart - Duration: 3:15.
this is the 38,000 mile range update I did it I'm doing it 90 miles soon just
because we're going to be way over by the time next time we supercharger hit
100% outside temperatures currently 79 degrees we have added 210 miles to the
battery now when I pulled in battery temperature was Oh 276 rated miles again
seems to be stagnating at that point aggressive I still think I'm the car is
hiding about four to five kilowatt hours below user reported zero but I'm still
keeping an eye on I'm working out my theories on that it is bright out okay
car thinks Pat capacity is seventy nine point five kilowatt hours although
current capacity remaining is seventy nine point nine kilowatt hours total
lifetime charge is seventeen point nine six seven megawatts and total lifetime
discharge from this battery is sixteen point six eight seven
gillo megawatts and once again as usual remember the charge and discharge labels
are actually flipped we go down to balance and the only reason it's not
quite as good reach at the air-conditioning I kind of keep it close
because of the brightness oh I got hot quick we're at about eight millivolt for
the pack balance now it's nine switch over to temps current battery
temperature is 99.7 as a high ninety seven point three is a low now when I
pulled in here and started charging the high was actually a hundred and twenty
seven degrees Fahrenheit very high and that cooling fan really went full
flippin power and that is it for today's range update
I'm heading out on a road trip right now so over the course of the next three
days we'll probably have the next three days we'll probably have three more
range updates and then on the way home we'll have probably three more adios

I really can't believe that we don't know the moves.
And you? What do you have?
I don't like that move. Plus, I'm sad because our friends are not in the team.
Maybe, we should trust Juliana more.
And why do you agree so much with her?
Because look. Juliana is not the person we think she is.
She is Juliana but she is another person.
Delivery girl, I don't understand anything.
Juliana is Marisa Lyn.
She's one of the best skaters of the world.
And she won a crystal skate.
Juliana won the crystal skates?
I can't believe it either. So the best skater is training us.
It's incredible but please.
You have to promise that you won't tell anyone.
No, easy.
Okay, easy.
Maybe she didn't tell anyone because she wasn't ready yet.
Now I understand why she is upset all the time. Because she failed in her career.
Failed?
She won a lot of awards.
Yes but no one talks about her.
So success means being popular.
Success isn't triumph.
Yes but it's isn't based upon applause.
But also on being happy.
I don't see happiness. For me, what's missing is applause.
To me, she was happy doing what she loves, which is skating.
Yes but to me she didn't make her dream come true. She's still frustrated.
I think that for her, it was very difficult to leave what she loves. She had to end her career because of her injury.
I can't imagine my life without skating. Because I love being on wheels.
I'm happy to have triumphed as a singer.
I realized all my dreams.
And now, you're not happy?
Yes, but I would like a little more.
Let's train.
Let's continue.
Are you coming? I'm doing this for you.
Are you really more arrogant than ever?
I'm the snob.
Come. I'm waiting.
I'm coming.

better than to let it eat me so I'll have to say, "No more," sweetly and let it
go, but you are a spell too much for me to handle. I wish I wasn't a fan for you.
You're too busy living in a kingdom far, far away... but I still need you to smile
for me. Sing me... a melody. I hated that I had to keep cool when all I'm doing is
starting a war fighting for my sanity, defending my independence emotionally...
...but I can't. Why? Because you are my dream never coming true. I'm your Mrs.

England v West Indies: Ben Stokes hits sixth Test century as top-order fail again - Duration: 5:44.
England v West Indies: Ben Stokes hits sixth Test century as top-order fail again
For when push comes to shove this winter, when England are four down and wobbling as history both distant and recent suggests they almost certainly will, the knowledge he has a man capable of riding to the rescue from miles back will be reassuring.
Yet before the England skipper is warmed too much by the presence of Stokes, who entered the field at 71-4 yesterday hammered an imposing 100 and steered them to 258 before England were all out, he will be worried sick about the men above.
And, with just one more innings here and one more Test at Lord's between England's top order and the bared teeth of an Aussie attack at the Gabba, he should be.
It is painfully clear England's selectors have a difficult few meetings ahead after Mark Stoneman, Tom Westley and Dawid Malan all flopped again.
Most disappointing for the England skipper will be that, on the eve of this Test, having challenged all three to grab their chance to stake an Ashes claim, not only did they all fail but all failed to poor shots.
Having started the day hoping yesterday might have clarified matters, it now appears the tail end of the County Championship will be a race to the plan.
Alex Hales, Haseeb Hameed, Keaton Jennings, Gary Ballance as well as the above are all under orders.
England's total was below par for all that West Indies have their work cut out having battled hard to 19-1 at the close still 239 runs behind, Jimmy Anderson with the solitary breakthrough.
But it could easily have been so much worse for the hosts had Root and Stokes not made the most of all the luck they were generously given by the tourists.
West Indies, abject with the ball at Edgbaston, delivered a more cohesive bowling display here after losing the toss, hitting a better line and length and probing off stump.
Yet instead here they were absymal with their hands, spilling four easy catches, and two which cost them plenty.
Stokes provided for two of those drops - spilled by Kraigg Braithwaite at second slip when he had nine and by Shannon Gabriel when he had 98.
Root, who equalled AB De Villiers record of 12 consecutive Tests with a half century making 59 was dropped by Kieran Powell at first slip off the bowling of Gabriel when he had nine.
The later Stokes fumble by Gabriel at mid on and a terrible fluff behind the stumps off an edge from Broad cost two runs in total, but those earlier blunders ultimately cost West Indies 141 runs - well over half England's total.
And on a pitch which will give increasingly sparse returns, that could be the match.
Alastair Cook had been unable to repeat his efforts at Edbgaston where he posted a double hundred, but unfortunately Stoneman and Westley proved more than capable of doing just that.
The opener had moved to 19 before a loose drive at Kemar Roach took an inside edge to the keeper.
In between the opening pair, Westley played uncertainly to leg at a ball from the same bowler which straightened, taking it right in front of his off stump on the back pad - his second consecutive lbw.
Malan had come in at 37-3 and dug in to lunch. After 39 balls he was bowled for eight by the nagging not express pace of Jason Holder, getting an inside edge on to his stumps.
On the one hand it is still early days for this trio, with Stoneman averaging 13.5 after just two innings, Westley just over 22 and Malan 18, both from six knocks.
Yet their nerves might not make it feel like that. And nerves are the biggest obstacle.
Perhaps they, too, can draw comfort from Stokes on a day when he was able to reach his target at after being given a second and a third chance.

Is Affirmative Action Working At College? - Duration: 5:55.
THE NEW YORK TIMES DID AN ANALYSIS OF ETHNIC
REPRESENTATION IN COLLEGE CAMPUSES.
THIS IS A BIG TOPIC BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT THE JUSTICE
DEPARTMENT IS GOING AFTER UNIVERSITIES THAT STILL
IMPLEMENT AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AND SO WITH AFFIRMATIVE ACTION IN
PLACE ON SOME COLLEGE CAMPUSES, TO MINORITIES STILL, OR EVER
HAVE ANY TYPE OF EQUAL REPRESENTATION AND THIS
ANALYSIS FOUND OUT THAT NO THEY DON'T.
HERE'S WHAT THEY FOUND.
FOR THOSE WHO MAKE THESE
ARGUMENTS THAT BLACK
STUDENTS JUST GET IN BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK, THAT IS NOT
REALLY WHAT HAPPENS.
IN FACT, EVEN WHEN IT COMES TO SCHOOLS THAT DO STILL
IMPLEMENT AFFIRMATIVE ACTION, WHAT THEY DO IS UTILIZE
RACE AS A FINAL DECISION-MAKER IF THERE ARE CANDIDATES THAT
ARE HIGHLY COMPETITIVE AND IT IS REALLY HARD TO DIFFERENTIATE
BETWEEN THEM THOUGHT IT IS NOT LIKE THEY ONLY LOOK AT RACE.
THEY LOOK AT A LITANY OF THINGS AND THEN AT THE END IF
SOMEONE COMES FROM AN UNDERPRIVILEGED BACKGROUND
AND RACE IS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAT, THAT MIGHT GIVE A
PARTICULAR APPLICANT A LITTLE BIT OF AN EDGE.
I DEFINITELY COME AT THIS FROM A DIFFERENT
PERSPECTIVE, NOT COMPLETELY BUT SIGNIFICANTLY.
1ST OF ALL ANOTHER WAY TO LOOK AT THIS IS WE BEEN DOING IT FOR
35 YEARS AND IT STILL HASN'T HELPED SO IF IT WAS MEANT
TO CATCH UP MINORITIES TO THE PERCENTAGE OF THEIR
POPULATION, IT DID NOT WORK.
WE DID IT ON THE WAR ON DRUGS FOR NOT WORKING IN THE
CUBAN EMBARGO AND HOW LONG ARE WE GOING TO KEEP DOING
SOMETHING THAT IS A WORKING?
THE REASON IS NOT WORKING IS NOT BECAUSE OF ANY OF THE RIGHT
WING POSITIONS.
IT'S BECAUSE WE'RE NOT ADDRESSING THE ROOT CAUSES.
BY THE TIME TO GET TO COLLEGE IF YOU GREW UP IN A
SOCIOECONOMIC BACKGROUND THAT IS DISADVANTAGEOUS IT IS TOO
LATE THAT YOU ALREADY WENT THROUGH TO BAD SCHOOLS,
THERE WEREN'T ENOUGH BOOKS TO TAKE HOME.
THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.
IT'S ADDRESSING THE SYMPTOM RATHER THAN THE CAUSE AND I
KNOW WHY HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE AND I KNOW THAT
AFFIRM AND ASK AFFIRMATIVE ACTION WAS RIGHT THE FIRST
WAS OTHERWISE THERE WOULD'VE BEEN NO OPPORTUNITY TO BREAK-IN.
HAVING SAID THAT, IT HAS GONE ON TOO LONG.
THE SECOND PART IS THAT IT CREATES A STIGMA.
EVEN THE YOU ARE RIGHT THAT IT IS ONE OF THE MANY FACTORS
IN THE COURTS HAVE ADJUDICATED THAT BUT IT CAN'T BE THE
SOLE FACTOR ANYTHING AMONG THE FIVE STAR PEOPLE ASSUME IT
IS THE SOLE FACTOR.
THIS IS THE ARGUMENT THAT YOU MAKE THAT CONVINCES ME
THOUGH LEAST AS I DO NOT CARE WHAT PEOPLE ASSUME THAT
IS STIGMATIZED AS PEOPLE.
I DON'T CARE.
THE PEOPLE WHO LATCH ONTO THAT HATRED TOWARD BLACK
STUDENTS AND THEY SAY THE ONLY REASON THEY GOT AND WAS
BECAUSE OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.
THEY'RE GOING TO HIT ON THE STUDENTS ANYWAY SO I DON'T
WANT TO USE THAT OR THEIR FEELINGS OR EMOTIONS AS
SOME SORT OF FACTOR THAT IS GOING TO CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE.
I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT FAIR IS FAIR.
YOUR ARGUMENT ABOUT INEQUALITY BEGINNING AT GRADE SCHOOL
IS A GREAT ARGUMENT AND YOU ARE RIGHT.
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION THE STRING TO PUT A BAND-AID ON A GUSHING
WOUND AND THAT GUSHING WOUND IS THE INEQUALITY WITH THE PUBLIC
SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO THE COUNTRY, THE WAY THAT THEY ARE FUNDED.
MANY SCHOOL DISTRICTS ARE FUNDED THROUGH PROPERTY TAXES SO
THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A SECOND.
IF YOU ARE LIVING IN A POOR NEIGHBORHOOD WERE PROPERTY
VALUES ARE LOW, PROPERTY TAXES WILL BE LOW AND SO FUNDING
FOR THE SCHOOLS IN THOSE AREAS ARE OBVIOUSLY GOING TO BE LOW.
THERE IS NO EQUAL FOOTING.
THAT IS SOMETHING ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
LET ME GIVE YOU A FEW MORE STATS ON WHAT THIS ANALYSIS FOUND.
SO IN SOME CASES, AFFIRMATIVE ACTION DID HELP EQUALIZE THINGS
AMONG RACES ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES.
CALIFORNIA WOULD BE AN EXAMPLE OF THAT.
ONE CIGARETTE OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION, YOU SAW THE ENROLLMENT
OF BLACK STUDENTS AND HISPANIC TEENS GO DOWN CONSIDERABLY.
BUT WE HAVE TO BE REALLY IMPORTANT CONTEXT ON THAT
BECAUSE THE ONLY GROUP THAT WENT DOWN MORE WAS WHITE SO WAIT,
BLACKS AND LATINOS WENT DOWN AND SORTED WHITES, THEIR ROMAN.
IT'S BECAUSE ASIANS WENT UP TREMENDOUSLY ONCE YOU TOOK AWAY
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.
SO THE SHARE OF WHITE STUDENTS AT MANY OF THESE TOP SCHOOLS
ACCORDING TO THESE FINDINGS, IN SOME CASES, THE SHARE OF WHITE
STUDENTS FELL BELOW 50% AND SO THEY GIVE ONE EXAMPLE HERE OF
RICE UNIVERSITY IN HOUSTON.
WHITE FOLKS, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.
YOU TAKE AWAY AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AND THE SHARE OF WHITES GO WAY
DOWN.
LOOK, I THINK YOU TAKE AWAY AFFIRMATIVE ACTION ARE MUCH
BETTER, MAKE IT BASED ON SOCIOECONOMIC GROUNDS AND
TAKE AWAY LEGACIES.
YES.
THAT IS A FAIR WAY TO DO IT.
DON'T JUST PUNISH THE NEEDY AND THE POOR.
DON'T GIVE ALL THE ADVANTAGES TO THE PRIVILEGED INLET LEGACY
ADMISSIONS INTO COLLEGE.
THAT'S OBVIOUSLY UNFAIR.

【近況報告】YouTube再始動!/I'm back!! - Duration: 6:56.
Hey guys, I'm Doga from DogaDoga TV
もし日本語がわかならければ
英語字幕をONにしてください
It's been a while!
It's 1 year and a half since
I uploaded the last video.
If you're following my Twitter account and my blog,
you know what I have been up to.
However, I guess that those who follow only my YouTube channel
have been wondering what I was doing.
I guess?
Well, I have only 189 subscribers now though..
So I don't know how many people were waiting for me.
Since I thought that I would like to start posting videos more constantly again,
I'm talking to you guys like this now.
I think that it's a good time to tell you my life update.
The last time I uploaded a video was...
2015.. an no, its 2016 ...
It was February.
So it's almost 1 year and a half.
Today, I'm gonna talk about 3 updates
during this 1 year and a half.
And...
I will also talk about where this channel
will head to next.
First of all,
I'm sure you can tell seeing the ring on my finger but..
Actually,
I got married last summer.
Although I shared it in my blog,
my wife is the girl that I moved to Toronto with.
She is Canadian.
We married at last.
We were not thinking about marriage
when we came to Toronto
But my working holiday visa was expiring soon, and
We wanted to keep living together here
That's why, we decided to marry.
I got my permanent residency as well.
So I'm planning to settle myself in Canada.
Well, even though we are married,
our relationship is still the same and
my life is also the same as usual
However, this is the biggest life change.
..more socially, maybe?
That's the first update.
Secondly..
Actually I'm not working for
a Canadian company
...so what am I doing?
Since I am interested in tech or gadget stuff,
I'm working as a web writer for Japanese tech medias
The chance to go out might be less than before
because I work at home all day long
writing articles.
However, I enjoy working as a tech writer
because I can learn new things about
new technology and products more than before.
It's quite fun because I'm obessed with them.
I have written articles for my own blog too.
I have more flexible time than before.
I'm enjoying my life so much.
I'm going to tell you later in this video but
there will be more videos related to those tech scenes and products.
Although it's the same content as before.
I'm gonna talk about this in detail later on.
Lastly...
I'm going to go to college in Toronto
from next January for 1 year.
The reason is that...
In japan,
I was working in human resources at a company.
I wanted to go back to the field in Canada too.
So I thought that it's the best
to learn professional things
about human resources management at school.
I believe that will help
me get hired in the future anyway.
So I will be a student again from next Jan!!
Honestly I wondered if it's more beneficial
to learn programming or web designing
shifting to those industries.
because it's more trendy.
But I'm interested in people in the first place.
like.. how people think and behave in a group.
That's what I'm interested in.
So it's a good opportunity to learn
what HR means in Canadian organizations and
how employees work compared to Japanese ones.
I wanted to learn those things.
Therefore I thought it's the best decision for me
to stick with an HR career.
I have actual experience in Japan too.
I summed up my life update quickly.
Those are the main three updates in this 1 year and a half.
Of course, there are more things that happened
other than those three.
.. such as buying new gadgets like this Apple Watch,
and what else...
I bought a desk as well.
and...
I have pet rats now.
They are different from mouse.
So there are many changes.
However, the biggest changes were
those that I shared this time.
Next, what kind of videos
am I going to post?
Back then, I had been posting videos
related to Canada and tourist places..?
ah no.
I have't shared many tourist places in Canada yet.
At least in Japan, I introduced many places.
and I often reviewed some products too.
Those were the main topics of my channel.
Basically, I'm not going to change that.
I would post videos related to
interesting information and places in Canada.
Speaking of technology,
I want to try to introduce products
that have not been sold in Japan yet.
Something like that.
I bet you are wondering how often
I'll keep posting videos.
hmm.. probably...
Let's say ..once in a week or 2 weeks?
that's my plan but
We'll see...
If you want to know my daily life updates,
please follow my twitter account.
I tweet very often everyday.
Yes, that's it for today.
I feel a bit weird filming like this again
because there was a blank.
I'll try my best to improve video quality and
to post more often step by step, so...
Please look forward to watching my videos!

CLEVER CLOVER'S 50 FACTS - MEERKAT - Duration: 5:43.
Hey Welcome back.
Today I'm going to share 50 adorable facts about the Meercat, one of my favorites wild
critters – my people used to watch Meerkat Manor with me and boy do I miss that show.
If you get the chance to see a repeat – watch it.
You'll love it.
In the meantime, let me tell you more about these rascally little members of the mongoose
family.
The Meerkat only stands about 12 -20 inches tall and weigh between 1 and 4 pounds so about
the size of a squirrel but they make great use of every bit of their diminutive size.
A group or mob of meerkats, consisting of 2-3 families or between 20-50 individual meercats
share one burrow usually in the arid or semi-arid parts of South Africa.
The burrow is made up of a series of underground tunnels dug by the mob members.
These tunnels riddle the entire territory the mob claims as its own, usually about 4
square miles.
The tunnels have tons of entrances built in giving the mob easy escape routes if a predator
like an eagle or a jackal happens by.
A meercat's fingers are equipped claws that give them the reputation as an amazing digger,
In fact, most meerkat can dig through its own body weight in sand in seconds making
the creation of those massive burrows a breeze when the whole mob helps out.
Since another primary use of the burrow is as shelter from the sometimes intense heat
in the region where meerkats live, having a huge, hard-working family to help dig so
you don't build up too much sweat is a big fat bonus.
Too many diggers can get messy though so meerkats have special ears that they can seal shut
and a special eye membrane that covers the eye.
Both are useful in keeping sand and soil out during all that digging.
Those same claws are also useful for climbing trees and digging up prey including insects,
lizards, small birds or mammals, millipedes and centipedes.
Sometimes they even eat scorpions and snakes.
Adult meerkats have mastered the art of removing scorpions venomous stingers to make them safe
to eat for babies but in actuality meerkats are actually immune to the venom of both scropions
and snakes.
Though some consider the meerkat primarily an insectivore, as you can see from the array
of snacks on the list the meerkat isn't picky and will even eat plants and fungi if
they happen to be handy.
They do have to be somewhat choosy with their meals since water is in short supply in the
meerkats native region so it must get all the water it needs from the food it eats.
Meerkat families are actually pretty cool.
Meerkats are highly social animals that love to play and groom each other but being part
of a mob isn't all fun and games.
Every meerkat has job assignments that benefit the entire family.
Some members will hut while other's are on guard duty against predators.
All meerkats have an excellent sense of smell, amazing binocular vision, and great hearing.
The guards use all of these as they stand on their hind legs and propped up by their
tail in strategic locations for surveying the territory for danger.
Guard duty is very serious business though females often bring their babies to work and
nurse them while standing at strict attention.
Guards work in shifts and even work while the rest of the mob plays.
If the guard spots a predator it will let out a shrill, barking noise.
The rest of the mob will sprint to the nearest tunnel entrance and hide out until the danger
is past.
When the mob thinks it is safe again, the guards on duty will emerge from the burrow
first to check if the coast is clear.
When the guard feels all is well, it will make peeping sounds to let the rest of the
mob know its safe to leave the burrow.
Sometimes the mob will feel threatened but be unable to seek safety in their burrow.
If that happens, the entire group will attack the threat, in essence the mob will mob the
predator.
While meerkats prefer to run from a fight, they can be fierce if the situation demands
it.
Hunting and guard duty aren't the only jobs for meerkats.
An ambitious meerkat can also strive to become part of an alpha pair.
The alpha pair leads the mob with the female being the big boss and her mate coming in
second.
Most of the mob members are either children or siblings of this alpha pair.
IN a disgusting show of authority, the alpha pair will often scent mark the subordinate
meerkats just so they remember who is boss.
Lets put that nasty thought away now and move onto something pleasant.
The alpha pair, and sometimes subordinate pairs, will produce 2 to 4 babies, or pups,
per litter and are able to have multiple litters each year if the territory will support the
increased numbers.
Pups are born hairless, blind, and deaf.
Pups stay in the burrow with their mother for the first couple of weeks until they are
ready to eat solid food and grow peppered gray, tan or brown with silver fur.
If you look closely, you will also notice that meerkats have black eye patches and black
crescent shaped ears.
Every meerkat also has short parallel stripes on their backs striping them from the base
of the tail to the shoulders.
The pattern is unique to each meerkat so maybe the mom waits for id marks on her cubs.
Who knows but after they are eating solid food and have a nice pelt of fur, the kits
are ready to emerge form the burrow.
All of the adults in the mob will take shifts caring for the babies – see there's another
job a meerkat can claim.
Caring for the pups includes teaching them about the different jobs, showing them how
to hide in burrows at the first sign of danger and even teaching them what they should eat
and how to do so safely.
Adult meerkats also have to teach pups how to communicate.
In addition to the predator bark and the all clear chirp, meercats make panic calls, recruitment
calls, and moving calls.
These take the form of chirps, trills, growls or barks and each one has a different meaning
in the meerkat world.
The meerkat, is sometimes called a suircat or sea cat though it isn't related to us
cats at all.
Though they live an average of 12-14 year sin captivity and up to 10 in the wild,
Unlike us lovely kitties, the meerkat does not make a good pet being far too aggressive
and prone to biting.
Plus, they like to mark their owner, the house, other pets.
Whatever.
They'll mark it so stick with us more civilized beings
And there you have the fifty most curious facts about the adorable meerkat.
Click subscribe and if you know something curious, tell me about it.
Maybe I can put it into a video.
See you tomorrow.

6 Free Excellent Tools For YouTubers – My Favorite Editing And Video Production Tools! - Duration: 4:59.
FREE EXCELLENT TOOLS FOR YOUTUBERS – MY FAVOURITE EDITING AND VIDEO PRODUCTION TOOLS!
I'm Cecilia Elise Wallin, from Clear-eyed Entrepreneur.com.
In this video I will talk about my favorite free tools for editing and producing videos.
This is not a sponsored post, and I'm not an affiliate.
I'll just talk about the free tools I have found very useful for running a YouTube channel.
The first one is the free editing software DaVinci Resolve.
I'm so surprised a free product can be so much better than many of the paid video editing
programs I've tested.
DaVinci Resolve is very user friendly, and the editing options seem to be almost endless.
But what's best is the very high quality of the exported files.
In addition to this DaVinci Resolve is obviously an excellent program for color grading, but
that's something I'm still in the process of learning.
I'm lazy so I think it's best to get good lighting when recording.
But I actually managed to save a film with very bad lighting with the help of DaVinci
Resolve.
The second free tool is the photo editing website BeFunky.com.
I've used their free version to make some video thumbnails and promotion graphics.
And I've just realized how easy it is to make great graphics using this website.
What I like most is their text overlay feature, where it's possible to make really beautiful
and professionally looking text overlays.
The third great free tool is the image design website Canva.com.
If I'm in a hurry I prefer to use Canva for producing thumbnails and promo images,
since it's easy to create great graphics in just a minute with Canva.
I seldom use their prefabricated templates though, since the prefabricated templates
limit the editing possibilities and it's in my opinion easier to produce good images
without the templates.
The forth free tool, which I'm beginning to see that I have underutilized until now,
is Facebook Pages.
I have several Facebook pages and I post on all of them weekly.
I've recently grasped how to use these pages really well, and I'm astonished how effective
Facebook pages can be for promoting a YouTube channel and a brand.
And it's very fun to experiment and learn how to increase the reach for my Facebook
Pages.
The next free tool is Google Trends.
I find Google trends very useful for finding good titles and topics for my videos.
The last free tool I'm going to talk about now is YouTube analytics!
A tool which have just recently given my some quite unexpected insights, which I'm soon
going to talk about.
I'm a YouTube Analytics nerd; I think I sometimes get too addicted to monitoring the
analytics spending too much time I could have used to produce new videos.
But YouTube's analytics pages are very useful!
I don't need to explain YouTube analytics because if you're not using it already it's
pretty self-explanatory.
When I looked at my YouTubeTraffic sources recently I found something which for me initially
was very confusing, but also extremely helpful.
What I found was that one of the most common search phrases (and some variations of it)
in the list lead to the one of my videos I put least effort into producing!
This is so helpful for me, because this proves that I have a really good topic there.
If I hadn't looked at my analytics I hadn't realized that I have a very good topic for
several new videos.
That's all for today!
You are very welcome to subscribe to my channel!
And you are very welcome to write a comment below.
And don't forget to hit the like button if you found something of value in this video!
Have fun every day, and see you in the next video!

200 SUBS SPECIAL - 200 PUSH UPS IN THE SHORTEST TIME POSSIBLE! - Duration: 11:43.
Sup guys I'm Diogo Pereira and welcome to another video!
Today I bring you a different video because I was at the gym and surprisingly I went to my youtube channel
and I saw that we got to 200 subscribers
I don't know how to thank you guys
It's a reward of your job you're developing for 4 months and we now come to 200 subscribers
For most people 200 subs its nothing
If I compare with great channels they get it in 1 hour, is almost nothing.
But if you're really thinking, ok 200 subscribers, 200 people have clicked on that red button
I've done 200 people click that button!
I never thought it would come to 200 subscribers is a great feeling, it's brutal!
This video is a form of thanks to all of you, from the bottom of my heart
Now when I post this video someone will take the sub and I'm staying with 199 ahahah, I'm kidding!
This video is a form of thanks to all of you from the bottom of my heart <3
is a slow process but if it is seen as a hobby the person gets there
I have many goals on youtube, I'm very ambitious, I have plenty of projects, and video ideas.
And people who have helped me is my girlfriend, Debora castro (will follow her on instagram!!) I owe a lot to her
Inspiration, the Brazilian channels they are awesome
A channel that has helped me immensely is the "calistenia nvm" they have supported me and talked to me, they are very cool!
I do not know how to thank you, I'll say it again but thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.
200 people already clicked on this button! Fantastic: D
I already start to notice a lot more of youtube, there are videos that are more successful just because of the appearance, if you put a flashy thumbnail will have many more views, it is a bit misleading.
I have already found channels with few subscribers and do not exceed 1000, 500 or have less subs that I and their content is very very cool!
And then you have channels with millions and do not teach anyone anything, it's more of a waste of time.
(PAUSEEE)
It's the first time I'm talking to you because I'm really happy.
I hope that I have already helped at least 1 person, if yes I am super happy.
I will continue to upload videos, the quality will be better from now on
And you guys will not regret subscribing to this channel, but if you're not, you will now subscribe to the channel ahaha
And already know I put videos every Tuesday before dinner so wait for me I will continue with this topic.
To pass this move to portugal, because Brazil is already advanced in this aspect. I'm trying to pass this to portugal.
You have 1 or 2 channels in Portugal, my favorite is "Dicas do Salgueiro" and he talks about Gym, calisthenics and crossfit.
I am more of Calisthenics and Gym and that channel is very good! You will not regret going there
And thats it guys, I do not know how to thank you
CALM DOWNNN I said that I do not know how to thank you but I had an idea
I have 200 subscribers, so .. I'm going to do 200 push-ups in the shortest possible time, lets go!
I've been warming up a lot, and I remembered yesterday that I trained the triceps and doing 200 push-ups is not a very good idea, but I'm going to do them anyway!
I will do it by 15 in 15 and then by 10 in 10 etc.
40 are already done
We have 50!
We have arrived at half, it is being very difficult! We have 5 minutes and 40 sec not bad, there are still 100!
Goes in 150 and we have 10 minutes and 12 seconds, now I will not give up!
(fuck that shit hahahaha)
170 and I'm pouring water!
We only have 20 left and we have 13 minutes, we'll try to finish below 15 minutes
THE LAST FOOOKING 10!
I'm slipping !! My floor it's all wet
The last 10 (DYING)
We reached the 200 push ups in 14 minutes and 39 seconds, it's nothing special but that's what I got after yesterday I trained the triceps.
This is my way of thanking you for your support, I love to make videos. Keep subscribing to the channel.
Seriously from the bottom of my heart !! We are 200 and I was able to do 200 push up :D
And you already know guys, leave a like, comment below and I see you in the next video !!!!!!
THANK YOU <3
