Youtube daily report Aug 29 2017

In Star Trek, if the Enterprise needed to talk to Starfleet Command, they could just

send a quick message or have a conversation in real time, even if they were light-years

away from each other.

But like most things in Star Trek, that's not how it works in real life.

For one thing, the waves that carry messages can only travel as fast as the speed of light,

or about 300 million meters per second -- and that may sound really fast, but space is also really big.

And as a spacecraft gets farther away, it becomes harder for us to detect its signal,

so we need bigger and bigger detectors.

Since we're still focusing on exploring our own star system, that's not a big deal right now.

If we ever sent a probe to another star, though, we'd need a detector the size of a city

to get any data from it.

But scientists are already working on a solution for that!

And it might involve using the Sun as a giant lens to strengthen the signal.

When you think of a lens, you might think of a curved piece of glass that can magnify

objects, like a telescope.

But the Sun actually creates a lens of its own, called a gravitational lens, because

huge objects like stars have so much gravity that they warp and curve space around them.

Isn't that just the coolest thing in the universe?

When those stars curve space, any radiation traveling toward them -- like light from a

distant galaxy -- gets curved, too.

The star bends the light around itself like a giant lens, and if you looked at the star

from a distance, you would see a magnified, distorted ring of light around it.

It sounds kind of complicated -because it is.

But gravitational lenses are super useful because they allow us to see distant objects

that would normally be blocked by big stars or clusters of galaxies.

And because gravitational lenses bend any kind of radiation, not just visible light,

they could also be used to magnify radio waves or other communication signals!

If a spacecraft around another star shot a message right at our Sun, the Sun's gravitational

lens would magnify and boost the signal so we could pick it up.

It wouldn't speed up the message, because the signal would already be traveling at the

speed of light, but it would make it stronger, so we could send more data and detect it more easily.

We have a whole lot of work to do before we're ready for that, though.

The main problem is that we wouldn't be able to just use a big receiving dish on Earth

like we do with missions today.

Like others lenses, the lens created by the Sun has a focal point -- a place where all

of the waves of radiation come together.

The Sun actually has a bunch of focal points, or a focal line, but the closest place to

pick up a signal is over 80 billion kilometers away — more than 550 times the distance

from the Earth to the Sun.

Compare that to the Voyager 1 probe, which is about 21 billion kilometers away.

That's the farthest we've ever sent anything into space, and it took 40 years to get there.

And to use the Sun for long-distance communication, it might actually be even better to go farther

than 80 billion kilometers, because that would help us avoid solar flares and other interference

from the Sun that could scramble communications signals.

On the other hand, if we're at the point where we're able to send missions all the

way to other stars, maybe getting to 80 Billion kilometers out wouldn't be much of a problem.

We'd also have to figure out how to reconstruct the message we received, though.

The signal would be warped by the Sun's gravity, so we'd have to do a lot of math

to make sense of the jumbled messages we got.

On top of that, we'd only be able to get messages from spacecraft on the exact opposite

side of the Sun from our receiving probe.

And if we wanted to send a message instead of just receiving one, we'd also have to

get the faraway spacecraft somewhere on the Sun's focal line so it could pick up our

signal, which is pretty limiting when you're trying to explore strange new worlds.

So we have our work cut out for us.

But some astronomers think it could definitely happen, and that one day, we might have a

huge interstellar communications network using gravitational lenses across the galaxy.

Astronomers can't help but dream big.

But even if we never figure out how to visit other stars, we could at least use the Sun's

gravitational lens as a big telescope.

Instead of translating messages and getting the probes in the right spots, we could just

use the lens to get a close-up view at whatever is directly behind the Sun, like exoplanets

or distant galaxies.

It would be like having a telescope with a lens more than a million kilometers across!

But either way, we're definitely not ready to use the Sun as a gravitational lens for

anything yet — let alone interstellar Snapchat.

The QuickJack Tip We Can't Give! - Duration: 1:25.

I'm Max with Quick Tips.

Today's episode is sort of a "sorry not sorry" moment for us.

There's one incredibly useful tip we would like to provide, but we just can't.

Every day we get the same question on social media, in our sales department, from the people

who see us at car shows, just everywhere.

The good wrenchers of America and beyond want to know: can we provide a list of cars that

will fit each QuickJack model?

Can we just tell you which frames you need simply based off your vehicle's make and

model that you drive?

And the answer is no.

We cannot now, nor will we ever, provide a list of cars that correspond to a specific

QuickJack model.

We'd love to, but we can't.

Chin up.

Here's why.

Vehicle specifications change every year.

Even if we tried to keep up and dig back to the beginning of cars, it would be a massive

undertaking to log all the possible lift point varieties—and curb weights—and keep all

that updated and accessible to you.

Instead, we provide a simple, straightforward measuring guide on quickjack.com.

There it is.

Help us help you.

Follow the link and take two minutes to measure the wheelbase and lift point spread of your

vehicle.

Then call us up.

Sorry not sorry.

Now, we'd love for you to press like on this video and subscribe to our channel, so

we can keep helping you out with… stuff.

I will see you next week, with another great Quick Tip.

Topa Topa - Ventura Brewery Series - Duration: 2:48.

Hi, I'm Casey Harris. And I'm Jack Dyer. We're here at Topa Topa Brewing Company.

Casey, myself, and our other business partner, Kyle met actually down in San Diego.

We ended up, bringing our idea back here. Casey originally grew up in the region. It's always stuck out to me as keeping LA, 80 miles away

Something that has always attracted me to Ventura.

We wanted to bring West Coast IPAs to this region

Ventura reminded us a lot of San Diego. Kind of has those same values.

We have some great people behind all of our beers.

We take our time and we focus on quality. I think Casey has built a great team of some of the best, most talented brewers around.

And I think it shows in every pint that we pour.

We really try hard to have that pint of Chief Peak taste brewery fresh.

That transfers over to the taps room as well.

Whenever you come into Topa Topa, we want you to be greeted with a smile and someone who can answer any of your questions.

About any different beer styles that you might be curious about.

Anyone who enjoys beer and comes into our taproom is going to find one of our beers that best represents them.

And that is something that makes us stick out a little bit amongst the herd.

I think our Chief Peak IPA represents a really good sample of some of the folks here.

Sespe is an awesome, easy drinking, just all around, still flavorful, simple, awesome beer.

We designed our Session IPA, Weekender. That beer just reminds me of a beach day.

It's only 4.7 Alcohol level, but still, gives you that full hop of an IPA.

We're very lucky here that we have this growing scene of local breweries.

I think it is sometimes human nature to think that we're all competitors against each other.

But really, in reality, we're not. Most of us are all friends and get along really well. And we highly encourage everyone to get out there and visit all your local breweries.

We've been very fortunate that we do have some great supporters, but I think it goes back to the people we have working here.

And our ability to get our brand message out there.

We believe pretty firmly, people aren't really buying what we make, they're buying why we make it.

And we truly do love everyday that we get to come to work here.

7 Things That Were Cut From Fallout: New Vegas - Duration: 4:35.

Unlike Fallout 3 and 4, New Vegas's development was not one where time was a luxury.

The game was rushed, which meant that quite a few things had to be scrapped.

Here are 7 Things That Were Cut From Fallout New Vegas.

Number 7.

When you begin playing New Vegas, you create your character and answer questions asked

by Doc Mitchell in Goodsprings.

Some of those questions are used to select what Traits you'll have, though you can

still change them after answering the questions.

In the game's files, a Medical History Test can be found, which suggests that you would

fill out the form to get your Traits instead of answering questions.

Number 6.

A ridiculously large Fire Gecko was cut from New Vegas at some point prior to its release.

The Gecko was named Gojira, which happens to be the Japanese name for Godzilla, would

be triple the size of a normal Fire Gecko.

Had it not been cut, it would have been the strongest creature found in New Vegas.

The Legendary Bloatfly is the strongest, and has 2000 HP and does 858 damage per second.

Gojira would have had 8000 HP and do 3200 damage per second.

When asked about the creature, Joshua Sawyer, the lead director of Fallout New Vegas, said

that the animators made him for fun and it would have terrorized Camp McCarren.

Number 5.

A model for a Service Rifle with a Bayonet and some sort of Red Dot Sight can be found

within the game files for New Vegas.

How this would have operated in-game is unknown, since no firearms in New Vegas have a bayonet.

Number 4.

There was a portion of the main quest line The House Always Wins that was cut from the

game, called Lockdown.

You would be inside the Lucky 38 when you somehow upset or anger Mr House.

Your options are to find a way to escape and wait for the 24 hour lockdown to end or neutralize

Mr House on the orders of either Colonel Moore, Caesar, or Yes Man.

If you don't kill him, you can begin working with Mr House again after 24 in-game hours

pass.

Number 3.

Old World Blues is perhaps the best DLC for any Fallout game and it also contained what

might be the coolest set of cut weapons from any Fallout game.

The two weapons are the Scorpion Rifle and the Spider Rifle.

Both are re-skins of the Grenade Launcher from the base game, but are much more interesting.

The Scorpion Rifle would have fired blue miniature Radscrotpions, similar to the ones you fight,

just smaller.

The Spider Rifle would operate in a similar manner, firing Spider Drones from Fallout

3's Operation Anchorage.

The textures for both weapons were re-used for different, more standard grenade launchers

in The Lonesome Road, the last DLC for New Vegas.

Number 2.

Mr House was originally going to have two female securitrons in the Lucky 38 Casino.

The first, Jane, made it into the game, but Marylin, who was styled after Marylyn Monroe,

was cut from the game.

According to Joshua Sawyer, there were some errors with her voice-over that weren't able

to be fixed, so she was cut.

Marylin's securitron face texture can still be found in the game, and she even appears

on one of the cards in the deck of cards included with the Collector's Edition of Fallout

New Vegas.

Veronica, a companion, even remarks "What'd you think of Mr. House?

I was surprised he only had the two robot sex slaves", suggesting that Marilyn was

cut rather late in development.

Number 1.

This one is a little strange.

There's a dialogue script found within New Vegas that suggests that you would be able

to seduce Mr House.

The script is as follows:

int seduction ;1 = House has expressed interest, 2 = invited to secret area, 3 = has been scanned

It's likely that this would only be available for female characters with the Black Widow

perk, and would also require you to pass a skill check.

If the check was successful, you would enter the sealed off area of his penthouse and enter

some sort of scanner, as there is a VR pod called L38PlayerPod that was also cut from

the game.

Some cut dialogue for Raul implies that you wouldn't necessarily have sex with Mr House,

but he would dress you up in different outfits, as Raul remarks that Mr House used to "scan

women's brains" and "make them dress up in different clothes".

Considering Mr House will die if he leaves his life support pod, it's not unexpected

that you wouldn't be able to have sex with him.

Still, it's would have been pretty weird.

New Vegas.

Fitter Food Talks... Thyroid Health - Duration: 12:40.

- Hi, guys.

So one thing we get asked a lot of questions about lately

because we've been talking about it

with some of our videos,

is basically thyroid hormone function.

So most of us are slightly aware of kind of the role

of thyroid hormones, because they are implicated

in our metabolism and specifically the kind of speed

at which our metabolism can run.

So for those of you out there with a weight loss goal,

this might be something that you've kind of looked into,

or you're slightly curious about.

Maybe you've been to your GP

because you've had some issues losing weight,

maybe some other symptoms of low thyroid function.

Just a couple, I'm not a big fan of symptom lists,

because it could be so many different things.

But a couple of things I tend to look for

when I'm working with clients

would be generally kind of slow function

in every system in the body.

So it could be sluggish digestion,

which might mean that you end up with things like

constipation and some other kind of issues

with irritable bowel syndrome.

It could be kind of slow function of your brain cells

so we get brain fog.

Maybe kind of, even at its worst, depression.

The cells can't generate and repair,

so we tend to have things like slow healing of the body

if you kind of cut yourself,

or the nails don't grow, or your skin doesn't look too good,

look too healthy, maybe your hair's falling out,

loss off half the eyebrow is thought to be related

to thyroid hormone conditions.

So, generally, kind of things just don't seem to be working,

and of course, fatigue and no energy is an obvious factor.

So if you have those symptoms, you may go to your GP

and get your thyroid hormones tested.

Sometimes that will flag something up.

But sometimes you'll be told actually

you're in the healthy reference range,

kinda of tootle off and maybe given some kind of solution.

Sometimes it seems like antidepressants or

something to tackle one of your symptoms.

So what you really need to know

is that test doesn't give you a kind of comprehensive

picture of all of the thyroid hormones.

So I'm gonna talk you through

how the thyroid hormones actually operate around the body

and give you an idea about what their function is,

what nutrients we need to basically make sure

we've got those raw ingredients for thyroid hormones

and for the conversions that take place,

and anything that might inhibit thyroid hormone function.

So firstly you can kind of take the information

and review your lifestyle or your nutrition.

But, secondly, you might wanna kind of go

and speak to your GP about further testing options,

maybe if you look at private testing instead.

So we're gonna kick off by understanding thyroid hormones

a little bit better.

We have a little white board here.

So you can see, first of all, thyroid hormones

generally start off in the brain.

So we have something called thyroid stimulating hormone.

It's produced up here by a pituitary gland,

which is also kind of taking messages

from another gland in the brain,

that massive gland, hypothalamus,

which is kind of reading the situation,

everything from the outside environment

to the inside environment of the body.

So we start off with TSH and this is what you GP

will generally measure.

And they have a reference range.

It's actually different in every single country.

Well, not every single, most countries is different.

I like to see kind of around two, maybe just slightly below

in terms of what I'm looking for.

But, actually, a GP reference range can be anywhere

from three, five, 12, depending

on the country that you're in.

So it just goes to show some of these reference ranges

are based on unhealthy populations,

'cause that's who visits the GP.

So it's not necessarily a good indicator.

So I like to see TSH around two.

Now what TSH does is the TSH is produced in the brain

and it speaks to the thyroid gland.

And you can see that's here, located in the neck.

And the thyroid gland here is basically responsible

for producing thyroid hormones.

But, specifically, you can see here

I've got a little arrow coming out.

So we get T4 and T3 being produced by the thyroid gland.

Now the first point I want you to understand

is that thyroid hormones themselves are made of things,

they're actually made of tyrosine and iodine.

So tyrosine is the protein and iodine is a mineral

that we get from things like seafood and seaweeds.

And, actually, most of it are very deficient nowadays.

We don't eat enough foods with iodine

in our daily basis.

Tyrosine we get from things like meat, fish, eggs.

So, again, you could look at your nutrition,

whether you're eating tyrosine-rich foods,

that would be really helpful.

Next thing to know, most of the thyroid hormones

is actually in the form of T4, and this is called thyroxine.

And it's bound up, it's not in its active form

and the reason being thyroid hormones

act on every single cell in the body.

So you can imagine they're being released here,

and they might start acting to sort of every single cell

they come across.

So it has to be bound up.

And it has to be basically kind of piled into a taxi

and taken off around the body

so that it can reach all the cells do their jobs,

do their function.

So it gets put in a taxi called thyroid binding globulins.

Those are proteins, by the way.

We think of protein for the muscle mass,

but proteins do so many other things.

One thing that they do is they kind of transport mechanisms.

They are the taxis.

And they can kind of latch on

to the various different hormones

and carry them around the body.

So a lot of it's moving around the body

in its little protein taxi.

And, actually, in the liver here

is where we get most of our conversions.

So a lot of the thyroid hormones are taking to the liver

and its kind of bound form, as T4, it's not active yet.

And this is where it can be made active, by the liver.

But the liver requires an enzyme for this process.

And that enzyme is selenium-dependent.

So selenium is another mineral that we need to have good

amounts of.

And most of us, again, are deficient.

Most of us think they're eating two Brazil nuts a day

will meet our selenium needs, but it doesn't necessarily.

So, again, go away, look at things like fish and seafood,

rich sources of selenium.

There are, we see some in Brazil nuts,

but some of you may need to supplement, again,

if you have a deficiency.

So, in the liver, the thyroid hormone is bound,

but it can be converted into T3,

which is the active form.

Or it can be converted into reverse T3,

so where T3 is kind of like the accelerator pedal

on a cell, it kind of goes in and says,

"Right, let's do this, let's get the job done."

kind of allows it, fuels it, to do its thing.

Reverse T3 is the opposite.

It's the brakes on the cell doing its thing.

So it's the breaks on your metabolism.

And what the body does at this stage

is kind of work out whether you've got enough fuel

for a start to kind of do all the metabolic things

that we need to do.

And if you haven't, because maybe you're on a really

low calorie diet, this is where low calorie diets

can actually really hinder thyroid function.

It will convert the thyroid hormone into reverse T3.

And what that does is kind of latch onto the cell

where T3 would do its work

and stop T3 making that cell do its thing.

So it kind of blocks.

It's an inhibitor, basically,

it blocks the actual thyroid hormone.

But if we get free T3 going around the body,

that actually goes over to a cell.

So this cell here can be any cell in the body.

In can be a cell in the digestive system.

It could be a neuron, so it's a brain cell,

it could be a muscle cell.

And T3 comes along.

And it's really special, so most hormones

can only attach to a receptor site,

like a little satellite dish.

You don't even see that, guys,

I'm not even showing you guys.

Most hormones have to go to a receptor site

outside the cell, they're not allowed in.

So this is insulin and the sex hormones,

all the other hormones.

But T3 is really special, it gets to go

across the cell membrane and into the cell.

And actually there's a receptor site on the nucleus

and what I call the nucleus, but most people,

when I do my talks, I kind of explain

the nucleus is kind of like the Chief Executive of a cell.

It knows everything that needs to be done

and it has all the instructions in its head,

but it kinda needs a signal from T3

to basically do its thing.

It needs some energy as well.

That's another entirely, another webinar.

But it needs a number of things.

It needs to have a T3.

And then what it does is it basically

starts spouting out instructions to the ribosomes

and they start kind of making proteins

and then, obviously, loads of different functions

in the body can take place.

So T3 goes into the cell, vitamin A is really important

for this process, because vitamin A

is basically kind of part of the receptor on the nucleus.

So we need to have good levels of vitamin A.

Now vitamin A, obviously, is very rich in animal products.

But some people ethically might want to avoid them,

or maybe thinking of avoiding them for dietary reasons,

to lose weight, to be healthy, whatever it might be.

But it is a nutrient that we need.

We can get it from betacarotene, which is in things like

carrots, basically kind of orange vegetables

will offer betacarotene which is then converted

into vitamin A.

But some of it's actually genetically

aren't very good at that.

So, again, if you eat a lot of carrots

and get a slightly orange tint to your hands,

it's believed that you maybe, you aren't converting it

into vitamin A very effectively.

So some people do need to have some animal products.

They feel better.

And it supports thyroid function.

So the reason I'm telling you all this

is, one, so we've already got a collection of nutrients.

I'm just gonna pop this down for a second.

And so the things that can really hinder thyroid function,

because it's starting in the brain,

anything that kind of crosses the brain barrier

and starts to impact the function of the pituitary gland.

So this goes for things like reproductive hormones as well

is gonna have an impact on thyroid hormone production.

So that is anything from kind of inflammation,

if you have infections in the gut,

they kind of have a nasty bi-products

called polysaccharides, which pass over into the body,

into the blood stream and can wreak havoc.

And, again, and that's right into kind of the brain

and stop those kind of glands being able to produce

the hormones.

And also we have things like environmental toxins,

so things like mercury, fluoride's another one

that blocks a lot with thyroid hormones,

and we can actually start to kind of block those conversion,

or, again, just create kind of a

low grade inflammatory response and issues with

all of the cells in the body kind of getting damaged.

So these are things that might affect that process

that I've just walked you through from taking place

So what you guys can do, first of all,

is make sure that you're eating the nutrients

that we've just mentioned.

We had iodine, tyrosine, selenium, vitamin A.

Vitamin D also plays a role, Zinc is also very important.

Zinc can be kind of important for lots of things

in the body, so you have to make sure

people who got good intakes with these within their diet.

If you do go to your GP,

what you're gonna come away with

is probably TSH and maybe total T4.

And those two, alone, as you could see,

don't really give you the picture,

because maybe your thyroid hormones aren't converting

at certain places.

Maybe you don't have free T3.

Maybe you have too much reverse T3.

Maybe there's too much kind of the binding proteins

that are kind of caught up the thyroid hormones

and they're not able to do their job and act on the cells.

So there are other things.

The most common thing that I see at the moment

is something known as Hashimoto's,

which is an auto-immune condition,

where actually the immune system is starting to attack

the thyroid gland.

So we tend to see low levels of T4

and actually very high levels of TSH,

because what the brain is doing is kind of,

it's getting some feedback with these now thyroid hormones

operating around the body.

And it starts pumping out thyroid stimulating hormone

even higher.

So once we're getting it kind of in a coming over three,

I see that a little bit at kind of 10, 12,

some even higher, then we know that something is going wrong

and we need to kind of intervene.

So a GP would offer you, usually, thyroxine,

which is a form of, basically

it's just hormone replacement therapy.

And in some cases, it's absolutely essential.

It makes people feel better.

But what I would say is in the background,

you have to go away and look at what is it

that was causing the problem.

Where does the problem lie?

Is it in a conversion?

Is it in a production issue?

Is there an infection?

Is it autoimmune related?

Your doctor can actually test antibodies

towards the thyroid gland,

there are three or four.

So you might wanna go back and say

It's all very well telling me I have low thyroid function,

if you've been diagnosed, but ask if they can check

thyroid antibodies, because you could do so much

with nutrition at that point in time to calm down

the immune system, and also work on addressing gut function.

I did do this with somebody, with a practitioner,

functional medicine, nutritional therapy.

Of course you can contact us and talk about working with us.

We've got some online programmes like Fit16

that have elimination diets in there

and are designed to basically build up

your nutrient status, get rid of things

that might actually kind of cause inflammation in the body

and start to wreak havoc with the different systems.

And, again, kind of look actually, just rebuild

in the body, rebuild function.

And lifestyle is really important for this.

So we can't have high amounts of stress.

We can't have too much exercise,

we can't have sleep deprivation.

We can't have no exercise.

We've gotta get that balance right

so that all the differences in the body

have what they need to function.

So the symptoms that we experience

are basically feedback from your body.

Something's not working right and you need to fix it.

And this is exactly what we're trying to teach people.

Let's find out what's not working

and basically let's fix it

with a combination of food, getting to bed earlier,

sleep, stress management, all those things,

are really, really important.

And maybe nutritional supplements.

bring the body up to speed.

And then from that point on, which you can kind of focus on

are maintenance plans.

Our title is "The Real" isn't it?

Could you sing a little bit?

I can't sit still!

The first game with the members is, "truth" or "lie" with the lie detector!

Who asks the questions?

The person on your left will ask you a question!

- Okay got it

Wasn't that explanation so good and clean? As expected, MC Jaehyun is the best!

- Today I'm the MC but I don't know if I can do a good job. - It's burdensome!

Nope, I think I can do a good job!

So I won't feel any burden!

Okay! His answer is "no"!

I don't feel/think this is a burden!

Because I know I can do a good job!

You're shaking!

TRUTH

Ah, it can't be like this! (playfully)

Everyone, believe MC Kim Jaehyun!

Now, the maknae will ask the oldest member a question. It should be really entertaining.

( Thinking, thinking )

Slowly moving closer, the leader

I... have pride in how loud the sound of my fart is (LOL)

YES!!

AH, I was so surprised!!!!

Now, Seunghyub hyung will ask the question

I... like Kwangjin hyung more than Seunghyub hyung.

Ah no ... wait this... ( whining )

So if it's "TRUE" it's Seunghyub and if it's "FALSE" it's Kwangjin

Give me a moment

This question is... too hard

But I really like the both of them, what do I do?

Okay, then you can like the both of us!

( The question is now, "I really like both Kwangjin and Seunghyub hyung" )

Right now he hates the both of us!!!!!!

( Both hyungs are kinda...)

Hyung, I thought my skin was gonna peel off!

No no, I don't think it's that strong!

I think it might be strong though, honestly. (Trying to turn down the level)

Ah! How can you be like that~?

Now, it's time for Chahun to ask the question

I... out of all the N.Flying members, am the cleanest

Is what I think!

No.

( Now, it's Chahun's time )

Now, I will be the one to give the question.

I... am not trying to act cool AT ALL when I cook.

That's true.

What is he talking about?

Don't you copy Salt Bae?

Then... wait... in this "Truth" game, the only one that didn't lie, was me?

- Nobody else told the truth - Nobody???

Le'ts try one more time

Wow you're really good, you're really honest

Things are fine now, but I think of the past sometimes – I miss being the maknae! I want to go back in time and become the maknae!

I don't want to go back in time and be the maknae again but...

I'm jealous of Hwiseung!

Fine! Yes! I'm jealous!

You saw that right?! I miss it (being the maknae)

Okay, we'll admit it! (That he's the most honest out of all of them)

North Korea crisis: US & Seoul continue nuclear war drills after Kim's warmongering claims - Duration: 5:51.

North Korea crisis: US & Seoul continue nuclear war drills after Kim's warmongering claims

The Ulchi Freedom Guardian exercise is underway in South Korea, involving thousands of troops from North Koreas neighbour and the US.

The 10-day show of strength involves mammoth land, sea and air operations, and it is rumoured to include 'decapitation strikes' which simulate a strike against himself.

South Korea released fresh pictures of the drills, displaying an impressive array of hardware.   Tanks with K-9 self-propelled guns, helicopters and soldiers kitted out with high-power weapons feature in the publicised shots, which will likely be scrutinised by.

The joint drills, named after famous Korean general Munduk Ulchi who lived in the seventh century, take place annually and have done for the past 40 years.

They are designed to improve South Korea's military capabilities and recognise the treaty between Seoul and Washington countries, dating back to 1953 and the suspension of the Korean War.

With North and South Korea signing only an armistice and not a peace treaty, the two countries are still technically at war and the drills are aimed at deterring any potential aggression from Pyongyang.

The current drills are taking place amid heightened tensions on the Korean peninsula, with Kim Jong-un criticising the war games and threatening retaliation.  State-run mouth piece Korean Central News Agency reportedly quoted the portly leader saying: "The US should stop at once arrogant provocations against the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] and unilateral demands and not provoke it any longer.

[Mr Kim] said that if the Yankees persist in their extremely dangerous, reckless actions on the Korean peninsula and in its vicinity, testing the self-restraint of the DPRK, the latter will make an important decision as it already declared, warning the US that it should think reasonably and judge properly not to suffer shame that it is hit by the DPRK again..

announced plans to fire missiles towards the US territory of Guam.   He later put the plan to launch four Hwasong missiles on hold, apparently waiting for Donald Trump's counter-move.

The US President previously said Pyongyang would be met with "fire and fury" if they attempted any provocative actions.

But Kim has threatened the entire region after he fired a rocket over Japan on Tuesday, forcing residents to seek refuge in bomb shelters.

The brutal regime fired the missile around 6am local time and it travelled 1,677 miles - over Hokkaido - before breaking up into three pieces and landing in the sea off the coast of Japans north island, in the Pacific Ocean.

It is thought to be the longest range missile ever launched by Pyongyang, and is the first time it fired a missile capable of carrying nukes.

Kim has not fired a missile over Japan since 2009, and the incident prompted South Korea to retaliate.

Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe attended an emergency meeting after the launch, and said: We will make utmost efforts to firmly protect the lives of the people.

South Korean F-15K fighter jets dropped eight MK-84 bombs near the North's border, targeting a military field.

Seoul issued a statement after the launch, saying: The Government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) condemns in the strongest terms this provocation by the DPRK which was conducted yet again despite the firm message of the international community conveyed through the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2371 in response to the repeated provocations of the DPRK.

If the DPRK continues its nuclear and missile provocations, the ROK government will respond strongly based upon a stalwart ROK-US alliance.

The ROK Government maintains a robust readiness posture capable of responding to any threats by the DPRK and will remain steadfast in safeguarding the lives of its people and the security of the nation..

BMW M4 Cabriolet Competition Package in Snapper Rocks Blue! - Duration: 4:53.

Today we have a BMW M4 Cabriolet with the M Competition Package

The horsepower increases to 450 hp

It's more suitable for trackdays thanks to the race differential

And besides that it also has a few design elements to make it look more racy

This color, Snapper Rocks Blue, is a BMW Individual color for the M4

For this car it's available on special request

It's also featuring the Shadow Line Package, like we see at the grill which is gloss black

The headlights of the M4 with Competition Package are also a it darker

It makes the car look more aggressive

You can also recognize the Competition Package by its 20 inch wheels

It's the same design wheels of the M4 GTS

It doesn't have the same orange line on the inside

But it still looks very racy and special

Behind the wheels we can see the carbon ceramic brakes

They have a price tag of €7750,- which is a lot of money

But they are so much better, especially when you use the car on a circuit

You can recognize those expensive brakes by the gold calipers with the BMW M-logo

Huge brake discs by the way

Here we see the Shadow Line Package again, the gloss black intake slots

The window trim, also finished in gloss black

In combination with the Snapper Rocks Blue exterior color, a bold color but it looks so good

On the inside we see a BMW Individual 'Opalweiss' interior

A bold combination but I think it looks good

On the LCI, the Life Cycle Impulse 2 of the M4, we see the new LED design rear lights

It looks a lot better than the first M4

You can also recognize the M4 Competiton Package by the black exhaust tips

This is a BMW sports exhaust which sounds very good

I will start up the engine for you

The M4 finally has a good exhaust note, sometimes it pops as well

When standing still it has a rev-limiter so you can't reach a high rpm

But when driving you will notice that it sounds so much better

It actually reminds me of the sound of the E46 M3

I think you should really go for the sports exhaust

Let's take a better look at the interior

You will notice the high quality workmanship

A full leather dashboard which has a price tag of €1600,-

It's finished with some carbon fiber

And again a gloss black trim line

What we also see at the door panels

The combination of black and white looks very good

Another option for the M4 Cabriolet is BMW's Air Collar 0:03:54.000,0:04:01.000 It will blow some warm air when you need it

In short: a BMW M4 Cabriolet Competition Package, carbon ceramic brakes...

The BMW Individual Snapper Rocks Blue exterior color...

The BMW Individual interior with a leather dashboard...

All togehter it has a price tag of €149.000,-

A shitload of money for a car like this

But the Dutch plate is what it makes so expensive

In total you pay €50.000,- for Dutch taxes

In a country like Monaco you would pay about €100.000,-

Would you pay it?

Would you dare to drive a car with a bold color like this?
