presents different challenges for everybody.
So to help us comprehend this daily battle we all have
is clinical and forensic psychologist Dr. Judy Ho.
For being something that's really universal--
everybody's got [bleep] that they need to deal with--
why is it so difficult to do?
Because when you're going through a period of [bleep]
it's all-encompassing.
It just feels like it colors your entire day,
your whole life, like nothing's ever gonna change.
The first step is always just to take some deep breaths.
You would think that that seems way too simple,
but it always works.
What you're telling your parasympathetic nervous system
is that things are cool.
Got it.
So even if your mind is stressed
you're telling your body you're not.
You're sending all these signals and everything...
And it sends a feedback loop up to your brain saying,
"Hey, you're not in danger."
It's so cool.
So after you do that,
it's really important to just, like, refocus on the present.
You know, go through your five senses and by the end of that,
you've also distracted yourself...
Yeah.
...from really engaging
in the worry thoughts.
What are some of the common obstacles that you see
that people can counter?
Well, I think one really
common one is like a very difficult time
tolerating negative emotional states.
Like, we all want to feel happy.
The minute that we feel sad it's like, oh, no, oh, no,
we have to struggle with this.
I think we all have to really visualize all emotions,
positive or negative, more like waves in the ocean, like,
they come and they go and you can't really hold onto it.
If you have a way of actually taking sadness and, like,
visualizing it as a physical object outside yourself...
Yeah.
...whether it looks like
a person, a monster, a book-- any physical object,
even the Grand Canyon, has a beginning and an end.
Well, Judy, Dr. Ho, very, very valuable stuff
that everybody takes to heart.

NASA Captures Hurricane Harvey's Rainfall - Duration: 1:16.
Favorable environmental conditions and warm waters in the Gulf allowed tropical storm Harvey to restructure and strengthen over several days.
On August 25, Harvey became a category 4 hurricane.
The Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Core Observatory saw several passes.
GPM captured the hurricane continuously over land and ocean, observing the storm beyond the reach of land-based radars.
As Harvey slowly moved southeast, GPM showed an asymmetric rainfall pattern
with a massive swath of rain reaching north and east of the hurricane's center.
NASA's Integrated Multi-satellite Retrievals for GPM estimated over 30 inches of rain from August 21 to 29.
The rainfall has lead to catastrophic flooding and difficult relief efforts.

Yulia Putintseva Scolds Her Coach - Duration: 2:34.
Well, not bad now. Just...
She makes many first serves
Basically she took advantage of this
In first game she breaks your serve
Just...
Many now ...
Do not play in the center
You can speak?
And do not whisper and do not fucking speak three words?!
Say normally, confidently!!!
You fucking do something puffing
Many... Many, many lift
She runs right through the center and begins to press
Where is a lot? One such rally was!
Where is a lot? Where are you? Are you here or are you sleeping?
Okay, well, that's okay!
Then go on to do just all the same what you do
It's okay, Yulia!
That's all you want to say ???
Are you present here or you still still celebrate New Year?
I'll say it again, Yulia, should not be distracted, please
Stay in the game!
But I digress?
Well, do not remember anything unnecessary
Just play!
I'm telling you again
Stop, Mitya. Mitya, stop!
Sit and support me normally
I'm telling you again after six games
Idiot!
All winners she makes only from center
If you have nowhere else to play ...
What the center ??? She has given me four aces! Are you here?
What does the aces have to do with it? Do you only counts of aces?
And the fact that she makes three winners after my serve, it is also the center?
In addition, that happens in the game?
What else happen? I'm receiving a hammer, next she serves an ace. What else happen?
You pay attention, you play very softly in the center
She did not move at all.
Are you an idiot?!
You can not move it! I tell you again - right, left
If you have nowhere to play them except in the center, do it actively
Actively do at the center, put pressure on her!
And I do not active?
No, you're not active, you are not active play in center
Then lift up the ball
She does not move, can you understand this?
she makes all winners only from the center
You are sending the ball into the center of the court, Yulia, in the middle
Yeah!
I ask you again
I realized! You still turbidity.
You drank too much last night!
After six games ...
Even more drink, then I will do like last time
Pay attention to it

My North—Episode 30: Jim Denomie - Duration: 1:51.
- [Jim] Grand Marais area, it's such a spiritual place.
It's a place to recharge for me.
We usually go up mid-August for the pow-wow
at the Grand Portage Reservation
and usually spend a three-, four-, five-day weekend
renting various cabins in the area.
I'm Jim Denomie, and this is My North.
(forest sounds)
- [Jim] This is my favorite place on Earth.
I love to travel but I hate to leave my studio.
When I started painting, I started painting
in the style of storytelling
which is part of my Ojibway heritage.
Humor's part of who I am.
Humor's a big part in Native culture, Native community
and I've been told that it's been a survival tactic.
But yeah, it's common.
I get golfing with my cousins or other Native people
and it's always just a fun time.
Just joking, laughing.
I don't know if we can repeat that.
And again, I tried to use humor and color to tone down
the stress and tension in some of these topics.
A lot of my paintings say "Mean people suck"
and the only people offended are mean people
and so I can defend myself against them.
(forest sounds)
- [Interviewer] What do you think you're most known for?
(Jim laughs)
- [Jim] Golfin'.

ABH Modern Renaissance Warm Glitter Smokey Eye + Bright Pink Lip Tutorial | Roxette Arisa - Duration: 10:33.
Hey guys welcome back to my channel
I am so excited to tell you guys that I partnered up with Ulta beauty to create this very Smoky shimmery glittery warm fun
Bright bold makeup look right here
and that's because I'm actually going with Ulta beauty to New York City at the beginning of september for the 29 rooms event which I'm
So stoked about if you don't know of what the 29 rooms event is it's a really cool like
immersive experience for brands of all different backgrounds
And you know different people and different everything to come together and create their own little rooms
That like I said is an immersive experience for people to go through. I mean I've never been there
I've just seen pictures, but it looks so sick and I'm so excited to check it out
I got a little sneak peek of the Ulta beauty room
The theme is beauty carousel it really inspired me to create this look because everything in the room is very
Bright and bold, so I wanted to create like a fun makeup
Look that's honestly just fun to create and fun to wear that was like my goal with this look so I paired a glitter smokey
Warm eye with lots of bright highlight, and then a bright bold lip to top it off
And I really loved how it turned out
So I hope you guys are excited to see and I did want to mention that I'm also hosting a Facebook live on september 7th
when I go and check out ulta Beauty's room at the 29 ones event so
Definitely stay tuned to the end of the video if you want a little bit more info on that
But honestly, I think it's gonna be a really cool experience for all of us because I'm gonna be there experiencing Rivers
I'm gonna so excited for that but also for those of you who may not be able to make it to New York City to
Check out 29 rooms you can kind of like see it with me
You know like experience the whole thing with me on my Facebook live so yeah
I'm just super excited to join in and experience our way through Ulta Beauty's Carnival Beauty and
That being said let's go ahead and teach you guys how to create this makeup?
Look right here
If you are going to be working with glitter today, so I'm gonna start off with the eyes
So if there's any like glitter fallout or anything, we can just clean that up and I'm using
The abh Modern renaissance I love this palette because it's just like so warm and inviting to me for my transition shade
I'm going to be taking burnt orange right here
And just popping that into the crease with a tapered blending brush then I'm going to take the shade
Realgar and just kind of deepen up that crease I'm using the exact same brush and again
Just going in windshield wiper motions in a circular shape so that we really get a nice gradient in those transitions
Then we're gonna take this shade right here. Which is actually called the nation red such a beautiful shade
It's like a berry Ric
I would say I'm just gonna be patting that on to the eyelid especially focusing on the outer third of the eye
and you always want to keep your
Little blending brush handy just so that we can go back in and blend out all the edges then
I'm just quickly popping a little bit of that Dark Brown
Which is called cypress umber into this outer V to give the look a little bit more dimension?
It was looking a little flat to me then for this inner corner
I'm just popping on a little bit of the shade primavera and blending it into the
venetian red Shade
I'm just doing this so that we have
Something for the glitter to sit on top up so that it's not just blank underneath now for the glitter
I'm so excited to use this so this is the nyx face and body glitter in the shade
Love the shade Copper. I saw this and I was shit
I just thought it would be so pretty for like this inner corner right here
You take some tape wrap it around your finger and get off the glitter residue glitter
Don't play around once you have glitter on your face
It does not want to come off
but the tape thing really does do the trick then I'm Gonna pop on a coat of my
Favorite Mascara in the entire world this is the Voluminous last period I spin L'oreal once our lashes are prepped
I'm just gonna go ahead and pop on some lashes as well. So these are velour lashes in the shade flash it
They're nice and dramatic. So I thought that'd be cool for this look lashes makes such a difference in the finish
I look
I was legit starting to kind of be like and I don't know if I like how this is turning out
I was gonna like literally just take off all the eye makeup and start over, but now I like it. Just going lashes
There you go
we're Gonna move back to the face now to
Kind of just finish off the look so taking my L'oreal Magic Lumi light infusing primer
And I'm just gonna go ahead and lightly pat this into the skin
I smooth it over the skin and then I go in with patting motions to make sure that it gets nice and tacky and I
Love that it
Just gives you that glow that luminescence right there then for foundation maybelline fit me matte and poreless
in the Shade 2 to 8 soft
Tan I'm just taking that on the back of my ecotools blender and just pressing that into the skin
nice and evenly
It's a little bit dark for me right now is because I haven't self tanned in a while
But honestly I would rather have my foundation be a little bit on the dark side rather than a little bit on the lighter side
Because once we add concealer and everything like that
It'll actually balance out pretty nicely speaking of concealer the concealer that I'm gonna be using one of my ride or dies
This is the tarte cosmetics shaped tape in the shade Media. I'm just gonna go all right underneath the eyes
And you guys know my little trick, right?
underneath the eyes
I like to take my real techniques setting brush and kind of buff out all the corners of those Concealer lines
Just because I feel like when I take my blender in here
It's almost too big like it doesn't like to get into those crevices so using this
Huge difference, then I'm Gonna use this new Powder from Becca Cosmetics?
This is the soft light blurring powder in the shade Golden hour. I love the packaging
We're gonna use it to bake has a little bit more color than most like translucent Powders?
But we'll see how it goes because kind of like that it has a little bit more color
I'm just gonna go ahead and take whatever was left over on the brush from baking
I'm just gonna set the rest of the face so I didn't pick up any extra powder. I just really use whatever was left
I have not been baking for very long lately
I've just been doing a little light bake easy bake oven ready now for contrary
I'm gonna go into my nyx contour palette. I like to use this shade right here
It's actually the lightest shade in the palette
but I like it because it's the most cool toned and I'm just taking that on a little angled brush and really going right into
The hollows of the cheekbones right back here where the hairline is and then I bring the contour powder down and back up
For my bronzer. I'm Gonna be digging into my
Narcissist pivot the Narcissist Cheek studio Palettes, I really like this palette honestly
I think that it's nice because it has some blushes it also has a huge laguna bronzer like I'm pretty sure that's almost full-size if
Not full sized, but you get all the other blushes as well. Just gonna sweep that on to the Cheek bone
I like to also bring it up into the forehead to kind of a warm everything up and balance everything out
I'm gonna take this shay right here as our blush
Just pop that onto the apples of the cheeks and then blend backwards
I don't like a lot of blush honestly I tend to focus my looks on the eyes and the lips this is just a
Super-Duper Subtle color don't think I forgot about my highlighter. I'm gonna be using this
Little baby right here. This is Mac cosmetics. Oh darling, and oh my God it is good
You have now I love Golden highlights
And this is like probably one of my favorite Golden tone highlights ever think it has a really nice formula, and the shade is
Key
Do you see that you see that like to really focus the highlight?
I mean, I'm gonna be beaming tonight
But I do like to focus all the highlight right here on this like top point of the cheekbone then
Blend the product upwards and right up here and also dab a little bit of this into this inner corner part just to make it
Pop a little bit more which reminds me that I almost forgot about my under eyes like finishing off the shadowhunter there
so I'm gonna go back into the Anasazi Beverly Hills at Modern Renaissance Palette and
Go back in with the burnt orange shade a lot of times
I just like to Mimic what I have on top or right on the bottom so that it just ties everything together
It doesn't have to be too exact since this was our initial blending shade
I'm gonna be a little bit more precise with this next shade. This is the shade realgar. I'm applying it with a little pencil brush
connecting to this outer product right here with an even smaller amount of the shade cyprus number which is a
Dark Brown, I'm just gonna kind of ground this bottom Lashline
I don't like to leave the
bottom lashes with too much red because then you can start to look a little bit sickly or at least I do so as I
always like to ground the bottom lashes with a little bit of
Either dark Brown or if you're really going for a dramatic smoky eye
You know like a plum or a black L'oreal lash voluminous. Whatever is called Lash Paradise Voluminous Maluma Slash bareness
boom
Honestly nothing makes my lashes look like this, Mascara
I feel like it gets better and better every time I use it for some reason oh
It's crazy. I honestly feel like this look isn't really that difficult to create like it hasn't taken me that long
So I'm happy about that. We're Gonna go bold
This is the Anasazi Beverly hills liquid lipstick in the shade. I want to do something fun and different. Let's do this
Whoa, it's Gonna be right guys
Then I'm Gonna use this sexy
Hairspray clay just to gorge up my hair a little bit cuz I can't get a little flat and this is a really nice
Texturising spray look at that. I mean obviously like it's not that one it just gives you a
You know you guys know me. I like to kind of fluff it up. Hope you guys like how the low turned out
I really really like it because I feel like it's fun. It's playful. It's a little different
We added a bright pop of color on the lips which just really
Changed up the whole look a little bit more bold if you will so hope you guys liked it give this video a thumbs up

THE UNICORN FACE MASK ?? Testing Instagram Products - Duration: 5:29.
what's up guys welcome back to today's video where we are jumping on the viral
trend of unicorn everything you name it unicorn has taken over the world so what
that means is we are testing out a unicorn face mask I guess you heard it
right a unicorn face mask I don't know what kind of magic this face mask has in
store for us whether unicorn hair is magical mystery I have no idea so if
you're ready to check out this review and tutorial of a viral unicorn face mask
keep on watching alright so as you guys know out there in the world of YouTube
unicorns have been just taking over the game there is unicorn Frappuccino there is
unicorn makeup unicorn skincare unicorn bedding unicorn shooting stars there is
unicorn everything so it is no wonder why I got suckered into this product you
guys this is my mask of magic and it is called be rare be fabulous unicorn
powder face mask know right off the bat the packaging
totally suckered me and the top of this looks like a pink sprinkled donut
there's even a little bit of holographic reflectors in there there is a rainbow
unicorn pink I mean everything that sells me on everything is in this little
package the coolest part about this face mask other than the fact that it is a
unicorn are related is that it's actually a powder mask and from reading
the back here it tells me that you just want to add about a teaspoon of water to
what is a powder whew I have never tried this before you guys oh it smells
delicious so all we need to do is apply go to teaspoon of product to the palm of
my hand I'm gonna add a little bit of water mix it around and that should be
ready to go alright guys so first things first I'm just gonna sprinkle a little
bit here in the palm of my hand whoa maybe too much
alright so let's just add a little bit of water I could see this being a total
mess oh there it goes there it goes on the floor alright we're not gonna panic
guys we're just gonna go ahead and give this a little stir it's turning into
almost like a toothpaste formula there are definitely beads in here that are
going to exfoliate I can tell already let's go ahead and apply it to my skin
just gonna push my hat back here now I did just wash my face not too long ago
so my skin is cleansed you want to make sure you're always applying your face
mask to cleansed skin and here we go now the first thing that I can tell if this
mask works out is that it's a really convenient for traveling because it
would be super easy to bring this with you and not have any of the water
weight in your luggage especially if you have to pay for luggage like you do
nowadays everywhere I don't know if I added
enough water to this this is really dry this is super dry oh looks like looks
like cornmeal and it smells this is not a hot look you guys this is not a hot
look at all what is it smells disgusting it looks like someone threw up on my
face this looks like a unicorn barf this
review just took a really dark twist all of a sudden I am not liking this mask
I'm not liking the smell of it I'm not liking the feel of it literally looks
like a unicorn barf on my face let's see you guys as I'm sitting here and the
smell of this is like hitting me more and more it started off as a really
faint rose the scent when it was still in powder form but as I mixed it with
the water and like got it on my skin this is just not hot this is not hot at
all who wants to look like this now despite being totally grossed out over
this face mask I am gonna leave it on my skin for five minutes like the product
suggests I really need to wash my hands but I'll meet you guys right back here
in five minutes and we'll talk about all of the benefits if the smell goes away
if it improves we'll chat about it in five minutes I'll see you then alright
guys that five minutes could not have gone by any slower I want to get this
off my skin ASAP so immediately that kind of soggy cereal scent did go away
that was the worst part it smelled like wet cardboard or wet dog
I can smell the roses again that scent did come back after that rancid stench
went away the rose scent it did reappear so that's alright
it feels like if you remember like paper mache when you were a kid like really
goopy and disgusting and it's falling all over the place it's all over the
floor it's all around me but at the end of the day it doesn't matter how it
smells or how it feels it's all about the benefits that it delivers so let's
go ahead and give my face a quick rinse I'll meet you guys right back here I'll
give you the four one one on the unicorn face mask well guys it is just as I
expected there was no magic in that unicorn and magical face mask
unfortunately actually when I went to rinse the mask off it was actually full
of really sharp microbeads to help exfoliate the skin but they were way too
sharp and way too big they were like the size of sprinkles on Donuts that they
were really abrasive and they really hurt my face I had to remove it so slow
I don't know if you guys can tell looking in the monitor
here there is a lot of redness kind of all through here where all of my skin
was really roughly abrasively ripped off so other than scrubbing my skin off like
sandpaper I really didn't notice any other benefit my skin isn't tight but it
doesn't feel well moisturized either honestly the whole process of creating
the product in the palm of my hands was a mess everywhere is covered in powder I
hated the way it smells like soggy cereal and then when I went to rinse my
face off it basically just scratched me to pieces
so just like most of the viral unicorn products out there guys this was another
unicorn fail unfortunately if you tried any other cool unicorn products let me
know in the comments down below and if you loved this video go ahead and give
it a big like always guys I love sitting down and chatting with you about today's
beauty and skincare products from all over the world if you haven't already
don't forget to subscribe before you go in that little Bell notification so you
know every time I upload a new video if you need more of me in between now and
then you can always keep up with me on Instagram snapchat and Twitter until the
next video guys see you then

Okay so personally I think
so you spent 30, 37 dollars
and get 900 dollars return
Maybe I'll just seat like this
it's better? OK
Personally I think
so you spent 30
37 dollars and got 900 dollars return
so you know what is that
a thousands of percent in return
um
I think you're good
the short answer is yes, I would put more money
into the ad spend, but the long answer question is
really understanding what's gonna be sustainable
testing different things. Is he selling
product?
Does he say what he's selling?
No it doesn't say
okay so if you're selling product or service or
whatever it is, I think finding out, creating
different testing, different campaign
for assets and all these things on on facebook,
especially since facebook is building out their
platform and they're doing messenger as they doing
facebook instant articles, video and stream, as
all these different things tested for creative
along with whether it's a product or service and
all these different facets. So you can see if you
can get a better return. I don't know right now
the one you're spending 37, getting 900
dollars in return
uh that also take into account of you doing a
Physical product that you wanna come for the cost
that it takes to your buying the product and
there's always different cost so see what's your actual profit.
You wanna look at the profit not the revenue that
you get in terms of return, so
different factors in facebook as a channel itself
you should dive deeper into it. So that you can
really understand because facebook is a mammoth in terms
of with advertising, but take your steps.
progressively and you'll be able to dive deep
on the platform test different creatives,
different copy, three tips that I will give you
the first thing is
focus on the image created or the video created
that you're using
uh the lay out the sort of time play around with that
the second is really the main headline. That's
right below the video or the image creative test
that. The third one is the main copy the text copy
that's above the video those are the three core
parts you want to test. Naturally people's eye tracking on
facebook. They go into the the creative it's in
the Center and then they go into the headline.
That's right below and then they go into the text
to the top or in most case they go to video creative or they go to the text
these core elements are what you wanna test to
gets and see you know if you can get an even
higher returns on what you're spending on facebook
okay so two things: first thing is a lot of the
first thing I want to talk about is a lot of
the influencer on the market right now. There's a lot
of
influencer that are scams essentially they buy their
influence that means they buy likes, the followers
and all these things like channels, and so a lot of
brands right now and companies like the ones. I
work with, brands I work with, and also internally
for ourselves we're really hasn't since on using
influencers uh the big and even this the smaller
ones, because we don't know if they're following
is legit right, we don't know how that translates
into
Spend or ROI in terms of getting it, when we spend the
money with you. So there's a lot of platforms
that we use as well. That we measure the
influence and really the engagement is really the
true currency of influence in marketing
and even engagement now with that being said,
it's still can still can be kinda crafted and
kind of kind of
crafted and kinda just made
fakelly. it's fake essentially, the engagement you buy
likes, buy comments on this post, that's the
first thing is really you gotta understand
that companies and brands or that's what
they're thinking that's why they're skeptical
about. Now the solution of that, the second way is, if
you are instagram influencer
so you should create a blog on wordpress or created
on blogger or medium or something where you
essentially build case studies of brands that
you work with and you're able to say hey ABC
restaurant right did a campaign with you and they
made X amount of dollars
that draw that much people into your
specific uh Because they paid like 500 dollars
with you ABC
restaurant, they made uh thousands of dollars that
weekend you turn these in the case studies and
you'll be able to actually validate and visually show that your
influence or the people are following. You in the
profiles are legit and that gives businesses and
brands confidence and able to basically do
business with you the social proof and when you
have those case studies
Ideally video case studies that's the third point. let say
You want video case studies where you actually
capture a
company,
ABC restaurant, ABC cafe, whatever it is that just
basically shows them talking about you and
how your influencer marketing just works
really well
now a lot of people are gonna do this. So when
you execute on these three things, they're able
to really differentiate yourself from the other
food bloggers out there or food influencers
on Instagram,
youtube or all these different things if you're really good on
video or you're not I think I recommend to you to
also start a youtube channel talking about food
or your lifestyle. Essentially a Vlog and start building
your following their from
I think it's 50K follower
to distribute them Across different channels that suit
your personality and suit what you wanna do,
especially if you're a visual persons, just build your
following from there build the own brands.
How I'm doing now um so those four things is what
I would highly recommend that you do
Tell me how it goes
One more!
yeah
....
with advertising with ads spend. What's the
context
is he just wanted to know how to Measure
... he looks for
okay. So I think a lot of it is really a bare
minimum
You want basically have 2
double your ROI or at least break it depends
you're selling a physical product that you want
taken to all the cost that comes for you to
deliver the product comes from your if you're
doing a website you're hosting shopping five big
farmers or wordpress every single cost that you
have Anything that takes in building a
delivering the product shipping cost all the
stuff you work into the cost of that plus your
ads spend if you do a service than you obviously
your margin should be a lot higher than a physical
products. I talk a lot about the profit um not
profit, but essentially the Progressive and local
system which is one of my pillars and in that
pillar I talk about knowing your key metrics and
this goes in see you look at stuff not just the ad
spent and the ROI
that you get from it, but things like your cost
per click, your Cost per lead your cost for
purchase, your lifetime value. Your average order value
and there's multiple different a metrics that you
wanna look for. I call it the P.A.S
matrix, which is the Progressive Analytical System matrix
sure you find out more on my website and also on
my webinar
I'm essentially giving away for free nine hours
something that for those who are watching my videos and
haven't checked it out as you go there to to uh
get into because I cover my entire process on
their for free. So you wanna know your metrics
not just On getting a return on your investment, but
also knowing the metrics. I go into um
from when people start looking at your ad or
start knowing about you, to as they go through
the different steps across the Web to buying your
product. C.P.C
cost per click, cost per lead, cost per purchase
and also the touch points you wanna look at the
touch points and when people are what touch points
to go through. Touch points is essentially if
let's say they go to facebook ad, they leave, they
come back after seven days. They watch another
video of you, on youtube and then they going to
your website and then they check you out.
They don't buy you re market to them on Instagram
They click on Instagram out to car page and then
they buy all these different touch points you want
be able to check that now I don't wanna overwhelm
you with them, but start diving deeper into that
uh analytics is really one of your your basis,
because when you know your numbers you're able to
make smarter decisions on your business and when
you sell your product or service. So those are
some tips. Someone who would do to really focus
on calculating your cost for selling things

Draw the bats, save the bats. - Duration: 8:34.
hello friends this is Kat from MeowMeowKapow and today we are gonna go a bit batty.
Sometimes you just kind of need to do something purely for the fun of it
like squishing some play-doh between your fingers or ripping something up
into a zillion tiny pieces and throwing them like so much joyful confetti.
It's kind of okay to take time to do something purely just because YOU need to do it.
This is what I do to relax. Each one of the bats and this batty rainbow
started out the exact same way: I taped a watercolor trading card to my desk,
used a big Brush to wet the entire surface so the paint will bloom and flow
and just kind of randomly added scribbles and blobs... sometimes even
splashes of whatever colors I had chosen. most of the paints I used were
Daniel Smith watercolors, but all of the materials i used will be listed in the
doobly-doo down below. From here it's just a matter of finding a reference
photo that I like and drawing it directly on the paper with black and
white pen. This seems like it would be stressful but it was oddly freeing. All
six were done in exactly the same method, each taking only about an hour from
start to finish which is kind of incredible! I usually describe myself as
one of the slowest artists and something like this, if I were to have planned it,
to do pencil ahead of time I probably would have taken hours and hours so it
was really nice to just let go and be free about this. Which i think is what I
needed. It's really important to make sure that you find time for yourself to
stress relieve because it's kind of a big scary crazy world out there; we all
need something to keep us sane.
So.... while I draw the bats, let's talk about them.
Bats are probably some of my favorite creatures, especially because-depending
on the species-they really just look like tiny flying cats and dogs. I mean,
who doesn't love an adorable kitten or puppy?! For a very small mammal they live
incredibly long lives; up to maybe about 30 years, sometimes more. Rats really only
live about two be... two? and they're pretty much the same size.
Hedgehogs would be lucky to make it to four and cats and dogs, which again, who
doesn't love them... they're known to live to about their 20s. With bats living so
long and with their primary food source being bugs (like mosquitoes up to 1200
in just an hour honestly, which is crazy!) a couple of these little cuties around
your next barbecue instead of those little citronella candles would be a
blessing. Unfortunately, bat populations in the US and Canada are suffering
greatly right now and many different species are in danger of going extinct.
A plague called white noise syndrome is infecting thousands of bats during their
hibernation cycles and, among other things, causing them to starve to death.
Without bats, who will protect us at our barbecues? I know that most people either
don't think about bats that much or actively don't care for them but they
really are an important part of our ecosystem. Their guano is one of the best
and most potent fertilizers...on the whole planet! They can help protect your
neighborhood or garden from pests, and it is possible that studying the saliva of
vampire bats actually may help lead to the breakthrough we need for how to
prevent strokes and how to treat heart conditions, which is amazing! So, what can
you do to keep our little flying puppies safe? If you or someone you know comes
across a bat in distress, please don't call pest control, don't call Animal
Services call a local bat rescuer immediately at batworld.org the link
for that will also be down on the doobly-doo. If you want to create a safe
place at home for your local bat population you can put up a bat box at
your house, which is basically just an artificial roost that they can move into.
it'll help protect the bat family and you'll reap the benefits of their presence.
If you have a pool, keep it covered when it's not in use since bats
can and DO drown while trying to swoop down for a drink. They can swim, that's
not a problem, but if there is no shore or gentle slope for them to easily climb
up they'll be unable to get out. And if you really want to get involved, sponsor
or adopt a bat from a bat rescue organization like bat world sanctuary or
bat conservation international. you can also like and share this video to help
spread awareness for these sweet and helpful little creatures.
As you can see here I'm almost done the whole rainbow, which is both sad and
happy for me. All that I have left to do is the blue, and I kind of dragged my
feet on it because I didn't want this to end. I ended up doing a couple of extra
projects in-between which were poster all on my Instagram. I don't really have
good advice for how to continue a project when you start to procrastinate
about it, if you have any ideas like tips about how to maybe make bargains
with yourself or keep yourself motivated, especially if you're sad that
something's ending (which i think is uncommon)
please share your advice, I'd love it.
Well it looks like we've come to the end of this piece and here comes my favorite
part-getting to take off the tape! You'll notice that I'm peeling off the tape at
a 90 degree angle and a good tip for when you're peeling off tape is to do
that because it's less likely to catch the paper underneath and rip it up. So if
you're trying to get a nice smooth tape removal, do that. And it's okay if you
have to switch directions because maybe one direction is causing the tape to not
go as smoothly or maybe catch-totally fine if you switch it up, you'll even see
that I did it too.
if you want a print of all six of these bats check out my shop in the doobly-doo.
They will be available both individually and as a complete set. Now, what's your
favorite misunderstood animal and how can we help to protect it? Comment down
below.
Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate all of your support and all
of your attention. And because YouTube will collapse in a blackhole if I don't
say it please, remember to Like and subscribe.
Till I see you again, I wish you nothing but peace love and happiness. Bye! <3

DIY GLOW SERUM FOR DRY & SENSITIVE SKIN | Get Glowy, Radiant, Youthful and Spotless Skin Naturally - Duration: 3:40.
Today I'll show you how you can make a DIY Glow Serum if you have dry
sensitive skin. As I mentioned in my previous video as well, there is no one
formula that fits all skin types, so this Glow Serum is specially for people with
dry and sensitive skin. If you are interested in this DIY, please stay tuned!
Before I begin I want to tell you guys how beneficial is this serum for your
skin. All the oils used in this glow serum are fantastic for dry, sensitive,
dehydrated and itchy skin. It has anti-aging properties as well. I promise
you guys, this serum will be much better than the most expensive serums that are
$70 and above in the market. Through this DIY, you can make it at a fraction of
the cost. Now all these ingredients can be easily
found at any health store for about $5 to $8 and these bottles will last you
for about two years. So let's jump right into it. You will need: Sweet Amond Oil.
Sweet Almond Oil is hypoallergenic and has dual properties. It moisturizes the
skin; yet at the same time clears out pores. It helps prevent future breakouts and
also reverses the sun damage on the skin.So this one is my ultimate favorite to
treat hyperpigmentation and it's perfect for dry skin. You will need 1 Teaspoon of
Sweet Almond Oil. Next you need Avocado Oil. Avocado Oil is phenomenal in
healing and treating dry, itchy, irritated and damaged skin. Again we'll need 1
Teaspoon of Avocado Oil. Next you need Jojoba Oil. Jojoba Oil is best for dry
skin and works amazingly for fine lines and wrinkles. It absorbs really well into
the skin and makes skin look plump. You'll need 1 Teaspoon of Jojoba Oil.
Next you need Vitamin E Oil. Again, this is an excellent oil for dry, irritated
skin. It has antioxidant properties and helps reduce fine lines and gives skin a
youthful look. You'll need 1/2 Teaspoon of vitamin E oil. Next, you need 1 Teaspoon of
Rose Water. Now the last thing you need is Aloe Vera Gel. Aloe Vera Gel helps give
this serum gel like consistency along with giving numerous benefits to the
skin. You need 2 to 3 teaspoons of this Aloe Vera Gel.
Now mix all these ingredients really well. If you want your serum to be little
thick, then add one more teaspoon of Aloe Vera Gel and store it in an airtight
jar. Now I'm gonna show you how to apply it. Take four to five drops of this serum
on your hand using a clean spatula. I would suggest that you never dip your
fingers in any jar, as it can contaminate the contents. Apply few dots on your
whole face in the morning before makeup and let it sit on the skin for a few
minutes. It serves as an awesome makeup base and doesn't leave any oily residue
on the skin. This Glow Serum can also be used at night and has the right oils that
can give your skin the proper moisture that your dry skin needs. Just a little
tip here: Buy good quality oils, as the cheap ones can have some cheap fillers
in them, which can clog the pores. I hope you glow all day with this serum. If you
liked this video, please give it a thumbs up and share it with your friends to
make them glow and yeah don't forget to SUBSCRIBE!
