Steampunk is mainly inspired by industrial steam-powered machinery

It incorporates machinery and aesthetic designs

Steampunk insects are installation art works

Combining parts of clocks and watches and insect specimens

I like insect specimens very much

And I'm also into old objects

I want to combine the two

My name is Lan Tusi, and I'm 23 years old

I'm a steampunk insect artist

I'm the first one in China to work full-time on steampunk insect design

My working space might covers an area of only 3 m2

Because it's not big

So I have to make everything arranged in perfect order

I have serious OCD

If a stuff is not in its place

It drives me crazy

I've been doing the job for 3 years

I've made over 100 pieces of work

When I just began to create steampunk insects

At first

The difficult part was that

I had to explore and experiment by myself step by step

Generally the insect has to be preserved

It needs to be soaked in liquid preservative

I dissect it

And remove all the guts and muscles

Based on the insect's own feature

I use clock and watch gears and some plate metals

To create mechanisms fitting its shape and body structure

I also use scalpel, scissors and electric drill to polish the materials

This is Dichodontus grandis

It attacks the rival with its horns

And throw it off from the branch

The horns are used to fight for territories and mates

So I put a hydraulic levers on the horns

And cover the thorax with armor

I also place an energy box on the back

It's a combating-style design

A complicated work can take one week to one month or even two months

And there's another work called mantis shrimp

Mantis shrimp is actually the most fierce animal in the world

Its thoracic appendages are able to make powerful blows

Which then vaporize water nearby and generate shock waves

So I add an piece of armor

And a spring booster on its thoracic appendage

To highlight the feature

I like observing small insects since childhood

I kept at one time over 100 pets

Now I have a leopard gecko and a bird-eating spider

Keeping them is also of great help for me

To learn about insects' postures and characteristics

This (black) goliath birdeater tarantula of South America

Is probably the only one in China

Mecynorhina torquata and Goliathus goliatus

Are both very rare species

My favorite is actually the collection of dung beetles

Because they roll dung into balls

To be honest I'm not good at studying

I was paid 3-5k per month after graduation

Now I earn almost 15-20k every month

Gradually people place custom-made orders

I hope I will become an international artist in the future

And keep surpassing myself in creation

You are going to have to make your own rules sometimes,

and this is actually part of the fun.

I get to try new technologies.

I get to implement them in different ways that

maybe no other company has done them before,

and so you can really go beyond your skill set that you think you have at the moment,

and push the boundaries.

The part that makes it really fun is there are so many teams across Google that have amazing expertise,

and I get to work with these people, not only build something with them,

but I learn so much.

Pick any topic and I can promise you there's someone here who is both better at it than you

or more knowledgeable, and also and more importantly, willing to help you learn.

Everybody here is so nice. They're so encouraging,

so that's very reassuring to be in a company where people value you.

I am fortunate enough to work with people from a lot of different experiences,

a lot of different backgrounds, and we use that in our advantage.

It's really the best idea wins.

There's a lot of debate, but it's really to bring those different viewpoints together,

and that's what we want our products to represent.

We believe the benefits of technology should apply to all,

and that's a mission that really is very, very inspiring.

So when I show up at work, I'm able to do all the things that I love:

solving hard problems and working for the people that I manage.

That makes it worthwhile for me to show up every day.

피자집 앞을 지나가던 댕댕이는 피자가 너무 먹고 싶었다 - Duration: 2:17.

유리창 너머에 있는 먹음직스러운 피자를 발견한 강아지는 한참 동안 시선을 떼지 못했다.

홀린 듯 피자 앞으로 다가간 녀석은 아무 맛도 나지 않는 유리창만 연신 핥아댔다.

지난 30일(현지 시간) 영국 일간 데일리메일은 가게 안 피자를 맛보고 싶어 필사적으로 노력하는 강아지의 모습을 영상으로 소개했다.

해당 영상은 미국 캘리포니아 로스앤젤레스에 있는 한 피자 가게에서 촬영됐다.

공개된 영상 속에는 가게 유리창을 사이에 두고 강아지 한 마리와 피자가 있다.

눈앞에 놓인 음식이 먹고 싶었던 녀석은 얼른 피자 쪽으로 혀를 내밀었다.

하지만 녀석의 혀가 가게 안에 있는 피자에 닿을 턱이 없었다.

결국 녀석은 피자 대신 차가운 유리창만 맛보게 됐다.

너무도 피자가 먹고 싶은지 끝까지 그 앞을 떠나지 못하는 녀석의 모습은 웃음을 자아냈다.

애절한 눈빛을 발사하며 피자 앞에 딱 붙어있는 녀석 때문에 아르바이트생은 물론 가게 안 사람들이 모두 당황할 수밖에 없었다는 후문이다.

영상을 본 누리꾼들은 "직접 가서 피자를 사주고 싶다", "피자를 본 순간 정말 배가 고팠나 보다",

"피자에 달려든 녀석 때문에 유리창이 온통 침 범벅이다" 등 반응을 보였다.

한편 유독 사람이 먹는 음식에 집착을 보이는 강아지들이 있다.

이는 배고픔으로 인한 집착일 수도 있지만 처음 보는 음식에 강한 호기심을 느끼기 때문도 있다.

하지만 사람이 먹는 음식은 영양 균형상 반려견의 건강에 치명적인 영향을 미칠 수 있으니 반려인들은 꼭 주의해서 먹여야 하겠다.

Stoichiometry problem grams to mole | Stoichiometry 101: Part 3 - Dr K - Duration: 4:08.

This is part three of the stoichiometry 101 series. In this video we're gonna

look at solving mass A to mass B question. Here's the stoichiometric plan we'll be

using. I've explained the plan in the first two

videos so do check them out if you haven't seen them. I go through in detail

how the plan is developed and how to use it to set up solutions for

stoichiometric problems. The link is on the top and in the description box below.

Now, let's read the question. We're given an equation and asked to find the moles

of Na2S2O3 that are needed to react with 42.7 grams of AgBr. So the

first thing we need to do is find out what we have and that's 42.7 g

of AgBr and what does the question wants? It's moles of Na2S2O3.

Since we're dealing with two substances here, which is AgBr and

Na2S2O3, we'll call them A and B respectively. A is for what's given. B is

for what we need to find. So our starting point is what we have, and ending point is

what the question wants. Next, we'll tag our start and end point on our stoichiometry

plan. So our start point is grams A and end point is mole B. Looking at the

plan, it will take two steps to go from grams A to moles B. Before we begin setting

up to solve the question we need to make sure that we have a balanced equation. so,

if you need a refresher on balancing equation, I'll link a video on the top.

So, it looks like we can easily balance this equation by placing a 2 in front of

Na2S2O3. With that we are now ready to set up the solution.

In step 1, we'll go from grams A to moles A and in

step two we'll go from mole A to mole B. A in this case, like I mentioned before is

AgBr and B is Na2S2O3. Step 1 is to divide the given mass, 42.7 grams with

the molar mass of AgBr. That comes out to be 187.77 g/mol.

If you need a refresher on calculating molar mass, I'll link the

video on the top as well. So we take 42.7 grams and divide it

with 187.77 g/mol and we get 0.2274 mol.

What we have just calculated is mole A, which is the mole

of AgBr. Moving on to step two, we are supposed to multiply what we got from

step one with the coefficient ratio from the balanced equation. Coefficient B is

the number in front of Na2S2O3, which is 2. Coefficient a is the number

in front of AgBr, which is 1, so, we take 0.2274 mol and multiply with 2

over 1 and that gives us 0.4548 mol. If you need to present it in three

significant figures, then it's 0.455 mol. That's the mole of

Na2S2O3,3 which is what the questions wants us to find.

To recap, we start off by reading the question and figuring out the

information we have and what the question wants. Then, we figure out the

pathway using the plan. Before we proceed, if the question involves two substances,

A and B then we need to make sure that our equation is balanced. Once we get

that sorted out we follow the set up and solve the problem. You can solve

practically any stoichiometric questions this way successfully every time.

I am at Railroad Park right now, I have a little bit of time to kill.

So, um, I'm here at the temporary rink they have during the winter.

And, they are resurfacing it right now, but I am ready to go.

I've got my old, crappy skates that I have replaced, and they're really, super, like, loose and soft.

But, since I'm gonna be here for a really long time I didn't want to wear, like, my really nice ones.

I also just got my actual skates sharpened, so I'm not gonna use my good ones on this rink.

It is real ice, so it's not, like, the synthetic stuff, but it's still, like really bumpy and awful sometimes.

But hey, you know, just fun to mess around

NaNoWriMo 2018 | Day 30 Vlog - Duration: 7:04.

Hey there! It's Diane, the nursing geek, and it is November 30th, the end of

NaNoWriMo. It's eight o'clock in the morning, so there are still sixteen hours

left. Even though I did reach 50k last night, I'm still gonna keep going because

my other goal... well I'm not likely to reach my goal of sixty thousand words. I

would like to reach my goal of finding the ending. Ironically, although I've been

using the little notepad that looks like a chalk outline of a murder victim all

month (mostly) for my little date marker, I haven't actually killed off any

characters. I mean not *characters.* I've killed off extras that never had names. I

don't know if I can get through the climax of this without killing any

characters off though, and that could get interesting. Like I said a few days ago,

that's not really my gig. So let's get to it.

All right, well Brooke's, Mandi Lynn's and Natalia Leigh's live stream write-in just finished.

I got a fair bit amount... a fair bit amount. Yeah, I can word. Mm-hmm. That... this is the

place I'm at now. There will be no more writing tonight. I was going to go over

to Jessica's write-in on JLW Reads, but I'm... I'm done. I clearly can't think

anymore, and my tendinitis is acting up in my arm. I need to ice the heck

of it and do lots and lots of stretching.

Final total is 50 - mmm, click back over - 52,403. I did not find the ending, and at

this point I'm okay with that, because the scene I was working on during the

sprints that I thought was going to be the big climactic scene... isn't. It has to

take place in a whole different location, and I'm not entirely sure what it needs

to look like anymore, but the characters have definitely decided that it needs to

play out a little differently than I had in mind. So now I'm just gonna put the

story away, let it marinate, and come back to it in January. So that is it for

NaNoWriMo. Kate Cavanaugh had asked if I was going to do anything with

AdventDrabbles on here in December. I'm not sure if I am or not. I don't... definitely not

daily. I can't keep up the daily vlogging or the semi daily vlogging. That... that's

too much to keep going with, and I have some other, more time-intensive videos

that I want to do. Like I - actually Krys, I have not forgotten the arrow wound video.

It's just taking me a little more time to put that together than I had intended,

but it is coming, and I do hope to have it in the next couple of weeks. But

because I want to do some more things like that, I can't keep up the daily

vlogging. I may do a little bit with something or other around... whether it's

AdventDrabbles or whatever. Just writing generally. But for right now, what I am

going to do is check out prompt number one. They tends to put up the prompt for

the next day sometime in the evening. - I want to say it's around 6 p.m. my time -

so that you can start thinking about it for the next day. So I have very

virtuously not looked at it until after I decided

NaNo was done, because once I start processing this prompt and what I'm

going to do with it, that's gonna be a complete gear shift, and nothing was

gonna happen with this story once I did that. So now it's time to do

that. Let's take a look. I apologize that I'm doing this with my phone but my as I

mentioned yesterday, I'm having memory space issues, so I don't dare use my

screen capture software. So I will link to the AdventDrabbles Dreamwidth blog

below. This is what the first entry looks like. So we have this advent calendar in

the form of a little tree, and day 1 is the only one sparkling because that's

the only prompt we've got so far, and

let's click through and see what prompt number 1 is...

Soarvivorcraft nether hub visit - Duration: 23:56.

Hi there! Yes, hello cats.

This is actually an intro from the future. I've had some issues with

episodes that I had recorded. Mistakes were made.

Files were deleted.

This one, at least, still exists, so I'm going to upload in a bit but I did

want to give some kind of intro first,

because otherwise it's very confusing. Especially if you have been watching The Tall

Turtle's videos and have already seen when The Tall Turtle received the mail

this video will show me dropping off.

So, with that said, let's go to the Nether Hub. Hi there, it's Diane, the nursing geek, and I am

currently in the Nether Hub as you can tell by the fact that Ghast was just

out there making noise. So on this server we have a Nether Hub that you can warp to,

and various tunnels to get to people's bases. Yeah, I am NOT a huge fan of

the Nether, but it is certainly easier for getting to various places, because for

every block you travel here, you travel eight blocks in the Overworld or

something like that. So I am glad this exists, and it's helpful when you want to

do things like drop off mail to somebody who lives something like 3,000 blocks

away. Of course, what'd really help is if I could remember which hall.

Let me see... Some people's nether portals are right on the hallway, others are set back

a bit and they have really decorative entry ways. That's the way to the Mesa, which

will actually ultimately get you to my

cow farm. That's not where we're going right now. We will go there later. It

looks like this has gotten an extension but I'm reasonably sure The Tall Turtle's

portal is not down there, so I think I'm in the wrong Hall. So for some reason,

apparently running under trapdoors makes you go faster. I'm not knocking it, I just

don't quite get why that makes sense. Also you can see the roadway is ice to

also help with moving along quickly, since that's the main reason most of us

use this Hub. I have not actually been out into the Nether yet.

What little I have that comes from the Nether, I've gotten from trade or

purchasing. Well I think while we're here and I may make a stop at the Blaze farm.

Okay so that was East. I already went through the North Tunnel. I had almost

gone down the West Tunnel and then said, "Oh no that's wrong!"

which means it's probably exactly where I should have gone in the first place to

drop off this piece of mail. I don't know where this Ghast is. I've never dealt with

a Ghast. I don't look forward to you trying now,

but monsters are all part of Minecraft, so...

I'm pretty sure I'll recognize the door when we get to it.

I just...

And if it's not this hallway. that means it's the only remaining hallway. There's

the iceberg biome. I guess if you're in need of ice, that's the place to go.

Okay, so, yeah, West was where I should have gone in the first place. Somewhere

in here, you have mailbox. Can I remember where that is? There! Oh thank you for

labeling it. Okay, so what I have is a little invitation to come

tour my tree farm mainly, and so let's drop that off. Done.

Let's run to the Blaze farm while I'm at it.

The one thing that it's easy to lose track of down here is how quickly you

can end up hungry. I ended up down like five meat pops at one point without

realizing it! So now I'm keeping an eye on it, of course it's not going anywhere.

Now I got plenty of baked potatoes so we're fine. There's Kimdol's place, which

is really cool. I hope Kimdol's able to get back on the server soon. I think they

were somebody who had to take a break for school purposes if I'm not mistaken.

Okay, so what I did notice while I was down the wrong hallway was that North

is where the Blaze farm is. And I could probably buy Blaze rods and Blaze powder

at spawn but one of the things I do like about Minecraft is having to get

stuff for yourself, and while I'm not crazy about dealing with the monsters

and fighting them for things, having to actually do something is... I don't know. I

like it. Is this it? Yes here's the blaze farm.

Okay, that was unhelpful. Okay, I'll use my own minecart or try to. I'm actually gonna

put it on here, cuz if I put it right on the powered rail, it's gonna take off like the other one did.

Okay let's see what the directions are now. Okay, now that I'm here,

they're starting to spawn. So what do I do? I don't need mending...

Okay so... do I need to crush them? Okay, and there we go.

Uh oh, did it break?

Now, the way this is set up, I don't know if I get the Blaze rods and powder, or

if I have to get them from somewhere.

They don't look like they're dropping anything. [sneezes] Excuse me.

I do need to get mending on this sword.

Anything beyond that will be ones I've gotten.

And if I understand correctly there's no longer anything to turn off. That's why

there're pressure plates, and when I leave, they should despawn

just from me not being here. And there we go.

Okay... it does mean I lost my mine cart. That's okay, I have more. And now I have

some Blaze rods, so I can finally start working on my brewing room. Actually,from

here what might make the most sense is just to go back to my cow farm. So this is where

you get into the management of "what is... what was your last spot" which is here.

What time is it? It's fairly early, apparently.

Midday. Hi there. All right, so we have two baby cows and one, two,

three adults plus two others so that's seven. So we're good, we're under the cap.

Do I have any wheat on me? We can do a little breeding while we're here.

This should bring us up to... yeah, I don't have another adult, so that's it. No more monsters lurking?

From here I'm going to fo home. And I had Blaze rods. Why did I have Blaze

rods? I didn't think I did. Those must have been from PupsyGirl, because she

had like given me all her stuff. Okay, well now I have those ones I got

for myself. So we can start building this room up a bit later. But the other task I

want to do... well, a couple more tasks I want to do... a little more leather

Let's make some more books.

Oh! If I have any lapis, it's way downstairs.

It's actually a very silly place for it. I should keep it up here.

Okay that is here and then we're going to go move to the enchantment room

where it would make much more sense. I have added a few more bookshelves.

Not sure how much difference that's going to make since they're over top.

That's okay. What I want to do... see what my options are here. Sweeping edge, power, power.

Okay it used to be that you kept dropping the same thing in and taking it

back out, it would get different stuff. Apparently that is no longer the case.

Sharpness. ( don't really want sharpness. I want mending. I may bring that to the either

spawn or Hoshido library. Okay so sweeping edge, silk touch, luck of the

sea, sharpness. See, I already had sharpness and some protection, efficiency, power and

that was just that's not actually an enchanted book really.

So none of those am I necessarily that interested in using right now. What I do

want to do is put names on these name tags, because I actually used the llamas to

do some transporting to Hoshido today, and after all that, they really deserve

names. I still have no brilliant ideas. So, one's wearing a green blanket, so that

one will be Greenie. The other one is wearing a brown blanket,

so that one's gonna be Brownie. Once again, not really coming up with very good

ideas, you know or more creative ideas I should say. And that's starting

to show its wear. I hoe it's not gonna be all done too soon. But that's it for now,

Which may spread to other regions it doesn't effect anyone else-

...unless you count that your European fans can't watch your videos due to you using something like music you don't own.
