From the Cambrian Explosion to the Great Dying - Duration: 11:58.

Thank you to Audible for supporting PBS Digital Studios

Lemme tell you: There are no dull moments in the story of life.

Sure, within the whole Geologic Time Scale, there may be some episodes that are less exciting

than others.

But the first era of our current eon, the Paleozoic Era, is probably the most deceptively

fascinating time in Earth's history.

I say "deceptively" because, even though Paleozoic means "ancient life", this span

of time -- from 541 million to 252 million years ago -- doesn't have stuff like dinosaurs

or sabre-toothed cats.

So it's often overlooked as a time of primitive and boring creatures.

But the fact is: the Paleozoic Era was truly a make it or break it time for life on Earth.

At the beginning of the Paleozoic, living things were extremely simple and not very

dynamic.

Life was fragile, vulnerable.

But the Paleozoic was also easily the most chaotic of the three eras of our eon – with

near constant revolutions in life, punctuated by catastrophic extinctions.

In fact, by the end of this era, our planet was the closest its has ever gotten

to being devoid of life altogether.

It's the closest that life ever got to just … failing.

So, far from dull, the Paleozoic Era just might be one of the most harrowing chapters

in the story of life on Earth.

For the first three and a half billion years or so that life existed on this planet, things

were simple.

Almost all living things were in the oceans, and most of them couldn't move on their

own.

So, the big, complex ecosystems that we know today -- with active predators and mobile

prey -- didn't really exist.

Pretty much whatever drifted by you was what you ate.

That is, until about 541 million years ago, when the Paleozoic Era began with a period

known as the Cambrian.

And right from the start, things were dramatic.

This burst of evolutionary innovation, which you know as the Cambrian Explosion, was likely

the result of a whole bunch of environmental triggers.

In the Early Cambrian, thanks to a boom among phytoplankton in the oceans, oxygen levels

suddenly ramped up, allowing life to flourish.

Meanwhile, changes in the chemistry of the oceans, brought on by erosion, allowed animals

to develop things like shells and exoskeletons.

And this led to the formation of new body plans that the world had never seen before.

Almost every major group of animals that exists today developed within the first 40 million

years of Cambrian, along with many game-changing adaptations, like calcified hard parts, flexible

limbs, and the very first eyes.

For instance, the first large predatory organisms appeared, like Anomalocaris

which hunted worms and other soft bodied creatures.

And over time, some animals like arthropods developed hard exoskeletons to protect themselves.

But, others -- like Pikaia and Haikouella – went in a

different direction.

They developed the ability to swim, under their own power, with a flexible rod of cartilage

to power their tail.

These ancient swimmers would become the ancestors of the vertebrates.

Major breakthroughs like these resulted in whole new, fantastic ecosystems with complex

food webs that life had not experienced before.

But, this explosion of life couldn't last forever.

The Cambrian ended 488 million years ago in a mysterious mass extinction that saw the

disappearance of many trilobite and mollusk species.

While this extinction is not well understood, a sudden crash in oxygen levels may have been

to blame.

And remember that: Because a lot of the pivotal events in the Paleozoic will hinge on the

amount of oxygen either in the oceans or in the atmosphere.

But the next period, the Ordovician, bounced back with another burst in diversity

-- this one known as The Great Ordovician Biodiversification Event, or GOBE.

You can think of the the GOBE as a kind of sequel of the Cambrian explosion -- a sequel

that was every bit as impressive as the original.

Like the Cambrian event, the GOBE was brought on by a host of changes in the environment.

For one thing, a burst of geological activity about 470 million years ago meant that the continents

were on the move, creating new chains of islands, and with them new, isolated habitats.

And this, combined with changes in sea level and another boost of oxygen in the oceans,

stimulated a lot of rapid change.

For example, this is when the first true fish appear on the scene: ostracoderms

which were jawless

and covered in bony plates

Meanwhile, cephalopods reached new lengths, like the shelled giant Cameroceras

which grew up to 6 metres long!

But while all this was going in the water, things on land were truly revolutionary.

Before the Ordovician, terrestrial life was probably limited to microbes.

But early in the GOBE, the very first land plants sprouted on the primordial rocks.

Based on their fossilized spores, we know these plants were small, like modern mosses.

And if anything, this early greenery might have been too successful.

The massive number of plants on land took in so much carbon dioxide that the Earth's

temperature plummeted and BOOM: ice age.

This cold snap occurred 444 million years ago, just as marine oxygen levels started

to drop.

And this combination caused the most devastating mass extinction that animal life had faced

so far.

The Ordovician-Silurian Extinction Event wiped out 86% of marine species, including many

kinds of trilobites and cephalopods.

As you can tell from the name, it brought an end to the Ordovician, and marked the beginning

of the next period, the Silurian

Life was able to recover once again in the Silurian, this time as the climate gradually

warmed.

Plants, for example, started to spread over the land.

Fossils of early vascular plants, like Cooksonia, first appear in rocks from

this period, as do the first fossils of terrestrial fungi.

The jawless ostracoderms were still the most common swimmers in the sea, and they developed

all sorts of spines and horns, likely to protect themselves from carnivorous sea scorpions,

the Eurypterids.

But by the end of the Silurian, 419 million years ago, a new type of fish learned to bite

back.

Jawed fish, like Entelognathus appeared in the seas, equipped with biting

power that allowed them to tackle prey that the jawless fish couldn't handle.

And the Silurian drew to a close with its own, albeit minor, series of extinction events,

likely brought about by drops in sea level that caused many bottom-dwelling species,

particularly cephalopods, to die out.

The period that followed, the Devonian, was when fish began their takeover of the

seas.

During this time, the earliest sharks make their appearance, but the true kings of the Devonian

were another kind of fish – the placoderms

The largest of these armored, jawed fish filled the niches we associate with whales and sharks

today – including filter feeders like Titanichthys and apex predators like

Dunkleosteus

While the placoderms were conquering the seas, things were getting even more crowded on land.

Arthropods really started to diversify with the first insects and terrestrial

arachnids emerging.

Trees also arose at this time, forming a canopy above the arthropods, and these Devonian forests

became the first major terrestrial ecosystems on earth.

Meanwhile, back at the water's edge, relatives of lobe-finned fish had adapted to spend more

time in the shallows, pulling themselves along muddy shorelines.

Then 397 million years ago, descendents of these critters finally hauled themselves onto

land for the first time.

No skeletons of these ancient pioneers are known, but footprints in Poland show evidence

of these very first tetrapods, animals with four limbs.

By the Late Devonian, 365 million years ago, tetrapods had made their way across the entire

globe, from Acanthostega (ah-kan-thoh-steg-uh) in Greenland to Tulerpeton (too-lur-poh-tuhn)

in Russia.

So the Devonian produced the first complex land ecosystems, while also seeing vertebrates

take center stage in the ocean for the first time.

But, the period ended in, you guessed it, another mass extinction.

This one took place from 375 to 358 million years ago and came in at least two phases.

Together these events are known as the Late Devonian Extinctions, and they seem to have

been caused by a series of drops in oxygen levels in the seas.

By the end of the Devonian, many trilobites and all of the armored placoderms had vanished

from the world's oceans.

Luckily for us and other land animals, at least some early tetrapods survived into the

next period, the Carboniferous.

But these creatures lived in a very different world from the Devonian.

This time, oxygen in the atmosphere ramped up, and this, along with a humid, warm climate,

allowed dense forests and swamps to spread across the continents.

All that oxygen was also a plus for the arthropods, which got HUGE in the Carboniferous.

But the bigger news was a major change among the tetrapods.

Previously, all tetrapods had laid their eggs in water – but around 340 million years

ago, a group of tetrapods called amniotes began laying their eggs with shells that protected

them from drying out.

And this turned out to be a crucial adaptation.

Because it was around this time that the continents began to merge into single supercontinent.

Eventually, over millions of years, it would become Pangea.

This landmass was so big that it was impossible for moisture from the ocean to reach inland.

The result: a severe drop in humidity and temperature that wiped out much of the Carboniferous

forests about 305 million years ago.

It's known today as the Carboniferous Rainforest Collapse.

By the end of this period, about 290 million years ago, much of the forests were replaced by

a giant desert at the heart of the continent, with extensive glaciers in the southern hemisphere.

These arid wastelands would've been uninhabitable for early tetrapods, but not for the amniotes.

And they rapidly split into two major groups – the reptiles and the synapsids.

And both groups spent the last period of the Paleozoic, the Permian, spreading across Pangea.

The synapsids were actually stem-mammals, and they were survivors,

producing the first large terrestrial herbivores, like Dimetrodon

But as the Permian went on, the climate got hotter and drier.

Stem-mammals and reptiles alike were forced to adapt to even harsher conditions.

On the reptile side, there were cattle-sized herbivores like pareiasaurs (par-ee-uh-soars).

Meanwhile, stem-mammals grew even stranger, with the sabre-toothed gorgonopsids

hunting hippo-like omnivores with weird head ornaments, like Estemmenosuchus

But this Permian safari park came to an especially terrifying end 252 million years ago.

It was probably caused by a combination of volcanic activity and climate change, but

the result -- the Permian-Triassic Extinction Event -- nearly spelled doom for life on Earth.

96 percent of marine species, including many sharks, fish, and all the trilobites, were

wiped out.

On land, the stem-mammals and reptiles suffered as well, with a 70 percent loss of terrestrial

species.

So, it began with an explosion of life, but the Paleozoic ended in near apocalypse.

And while life started out in this era as simple, small marine organisms, by its end,

life had conquered the oceans, taken the very first steps onto land, and spread to the most

inhospitable corners of our planet.

So yes, it was not exactly a heyday of charismatic megafauna.

But it's no overstatement to say that the Paleozoic Era made life what it is today.

Why Joseph Gordon-Levitt Will Never Get His Robin Movie - Duration: 4:17.

It's been quite a few years since Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy came to a close

with the somewhat optimistic introduction of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Robin, ready to

fill in for Bruce Wayne as the protector of Gotham City.

It was a perfect ending to the series, but some also perceived it as the beginning of

something new, with Gordon-Levitt seeming like just the kind of guy to carry the franchise

forward into new territory.

"You should use your full name.

I like that name.

Robin."

So why haven't we ever gotten a Robin solo movie?

Let's take a look at why Joseph Gordon-Levitt will probably never get to play the Boy Wonder

again.

DCEU divergence

Although we haven't gotten to see any more of Christopher Nolan's Batman films since

The Dark Knight Rises, the DC Extended Universe has still forged on without Christian Bale

driving the Batmobile -- or any other elements of Nolan's trilogy carrying over, for that

matter.

It would be sacrilege for the studio to continue the Dark Knight's story without the visionary

writer-director's involvement, and it would be a hard sell for fans, too.

So, Nolan's trilogy exists in his own isolated three-film bubble.

Warner Bros.' new direction doesn't seem to be touching it, ultimately re-casting any

characters that may intersect with it.

This means that, while they're rolling full steam ahead with an interconnected universe

of superheroes who all share a singular continuity, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Robin is probably now

considered to be just as untouchable as anything else Nolan came up with.

Making matters worse, in the current DC Extended Universe Robin is already gone, as shown in

Dawn of Justice when Bruce Wayne passes by a display case containing Robin's old suit.

"The whole idea was that there had been loss, and there had been sacrifice."

So, even if Nolan did eventually give his blessing to borrow his version of Robin, well,

they've written themselves into a corner with that already.

Still, Batman has no shortage of Robins floating around - but there are more problems than

just one Robin being underground.

"Whoa… there are three other Robin's?

"There have been more than that."

"Golly, our chum Batman sure does go through a sidekick or two."

Nightwing's next

Instead of bringing Robin back to life, it looks like Warner Bros. is eyeing the sidekick's

OTHER alter ego to get his day in the sun.

In the comics, Nightwing is Robin's new identity after he realizes being Robin is lame, and

he ditches Batman to pursue his own solo adventures under the new mantle.

"This is my gig.

If I'd needed you I'd have called."

This decision by Warner Bros. to move forward on a Nightwing movie unarguably rules out

any Joseph Gordon-Levitt Robin plans.

It's important to maintain the DCEU's continuity, and to build a new status for Nightwing, a

character with far more A-list potential than Robin.

Unless Warner Bros. breaks its tradition of refusing to recycle any of Nolan's old cast

members and retrofit a new character with the history of an older one, chances are,

Joseph Gordon-Levitt won't be the guy to lead up this movie either.

Best left alone

Irrespective of the other reasons Joseph Gordon-Levitt's hypothetical Robin film will never take flight,

there's also the problem of Robin's unpopularity as a character in general.

Evidence for this is pretty blatant, as the single time audience members had a say regarding

his inclusion in a Batman story, they chose to put an end to him.

Yes, really.

In 1988, DC comics asked readers if Jason Todd, who donned Robin's green and red spandex

at the time, should be taken out or spared, and fans voted to end his life.

Since then, no one's really been seen clamoring for more Robin-centric fiction.

And it probably doesn't help that of the many Batman films in the caped crusader's cinematic

history, the ones that prominently feature Robin are widely considered the worst of the

bunch.

"It's Batman and Robin, not Robin and Batman and I'm sick of it."

That probably means the character isn't viable as a stand-alone centerpiece for any movie,

let alone one with a significant budget.

Actor apathy

The real death-knell for hopes of a beloved actor playing a role you'd really like to

see them in happens when they personally come out and say it'd be an inappropriate idea.

"Holy fate worse than ever!"

We've seen people backpedal on comments about disinterest before, but to call a Robin spin-off

inappropriate and say that The Dark Knight trilogy ended exactly where it should, well,

it's hard to walk back those kind of comments.

If a Robin movie ever happens, we'll be introduced to a brand new boy in tights.

Outspoken Shooting Victims Refused Trump's Visit, So He Refused Something Of Theirs - Duration: 5:08.

Outspoken Shooting Victims Refused Trump's Visit, So He Refused Something Of Theirs

Victims are speaking out after America witnessed 17 murders in a horrific Florida school shooting.

A young male with a troubled history avoided red flags and was able to purchase a gun in

Florida, then proceed to shoot up a school in Parkview.

Florida authorities and the FBI had plenty of chances to intervene, but the warning signs

and red flags went ignored.

The FBI was tipped off, police were called about him many times, teachers gave warnings,

the guy said he would be a school shooter, and there was what seemed to be a million

red flags that went ignored, and that's why he was able to commit his selfless act

of mass murder.

Some of the victims and survivors of the school shooting that happened at Marjory Stoneman

Douglas High School are finally speaking out, and some of them are refusing to meet with

President Trump.

President Donald Trump is expected to visit Florida to meet with survivors and victims

from the Parkland area school shooting to console them and discuss whatever is on their

minds.

Two students have stated that they refuse to meet with the President, proving once again

that liberalism is the opposite of being progressive.

The students who refuse to meet the President and openly discuss their concerns is the exact

reason why progress will be slow or nonexistent for some things.

Refusal to openly converse does not accomplish anything.

President Trump will take something away from them.

He takes away their chance to have an open discussion that may have been the reason that

more gun control laws were put in place to help prevent the wrong people from getting

weapons.

If the students want to act like the kids that they are, then Trump takes away their

chance to make progress.

Now their anti-gun narrative is thrown in the trash, and these two kids just stopped

or slowed any chance of improvement with the next step in protecting Americans.

If you look closely, you'll see the students also resemble future protesters.

Sad.Independent Journal Review provided more on the Presidential diss:

"Two students who survived the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida, last week said

they are skipping an upcoming "listening session" with President Donald Trump.

"I believe we've been invited, but neither of us are going," Emma Gonzalez said on

CNN's "New Day" alongside fellow survivor David Hogg.

The president's visit comes just days after 19-year-old gunman Nikolas Cruz opened fire

at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, killing 17 people and injuring more than a dozen others.

Trump will meet with students Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

Gonzalez said they have a prior town hall meeting with CNN anchor Jake Tapper, Shareblue

reported, but skipping the session is likely a result of their pro-gun control perspectives.

When host Alisyn Camerota asked Gonzalez about the National Rifle Association, she said the

pro-gun lobbying group should "disband, dismantle … don't make another organization

under a different name.

Don't you dare come back here."

There's a slight problem in this interview with Emma and David.

The problem is that CNN interviewed them and there's a very high chance that the students

were told what to say.

Most kids this age aren't talking about politics, gun control, nor do they have any

interest in any of these topics that tend to be more popular among adults.

It's with my firm belief that the two students are either guided by hardcore leftist liberals

or CNN has pushed a narrative upon them.

Maybe CNN's employees said to the kids "hey do you want to be on TV?

OK, great!

Here's what you have to say" as they pushed a scripted barrel of nonsense upon the kids

who will almost always do anything to be on TV.

Kids do anything for attention today, more so than they ever did.

If the kids aren't shooting up schools, then they're eating Tide Pods and sitting

on their smartphone for 20 hours per day.

Today's generation has lost almost all touch with the personal connection.

Kids don't even know what their friends sound like on the phone anymore.

Everyone is just another profile on the screen, some text messages, and anything for likes.

While these kids are yapping about their fake obsession with gun control, there are real

people in the world working to make it a better place for everyone.

President Trump will discuss matters with people who are intelligent enough to sit in

a room with him and trade ideas that help make America great.

Let's not forget folks, securing America is an adult's job and the politicians need

to get it done.

We're not going to take advice from a know-nothing teenager anyway.

While people were complaining about Trump, he was busy visiting victims and first responders.

Think twice before criticizing Trump and his dedication to Americans

HORRIBLE THINGS BABYSITTERS DID TO US #4 | Dolan True Stories - Duration: 12:28.

• From trying to sell the family dog to forcing siblings to make out with each other,

the Planet Dolan crew re-enact some of the best true stories from our subreddit about

the worst things a babysitter has ever done.

I'm Nixxiom and today I'll be your narrator.

Number 10 was submitted by The_Cloud_Person Pringle

When Pringle was little, he hated his babysitter.

She hated it when a child of any age cried… and Pringle had a baby sister.

One time, when his baby sister cried, the babysitter yelled at her to shut up or she

would have to go to her room.

But his baby sister continued to cry, so the babysitter dragged her to her room by one

arm.

She also hated it when she had to change diapers, and she barely even fed Pringle or his sister.

The only time she would feed them was if there were leftovers.

She also made them take naps and, if they didn't sleep, she would give Pringle and

his sister spankings that wouldn't leave behind any marks.

The babysitter even told Pringle that if he ever said anything to his parents, they wouldn't

believe him and punish him harshly for lying to them – something Dolan believed since

he was a gullible kid.

It all came to an end when Pringle's dad came home while the babysitter was screaming

and threatening Pringle and his sister with spankings for not sleeping.

She was fired on the spot, and Pringle never saw her again.

Number 9 was submitted by Firedragon_X Grgak Grgak's mom had to leave for two months

when he was 14, so she hired a babysitter who brought her fat daughter.

The babysitter was the worst – she never helped with homework, and never fed him or

the dog, which was a German Shepherd.

She even tried selling the dog for 15,000 dollars!

Though she wouldn't feed Grgak or his dog, she always remembered to feed her daughter.

She never even let Grgak call his mom.

After a month his best friend, MKyleM, and his mom noticed how malnourished he was, so

they invited him and his dog to sleep at their house.

That is when MKyleM's mom called Grgak's mom to come home, which she immediately did.

When the babysitter asked for her payment, Grgak's mom responded by suing her for 50,000

dollars.

Grgak lost 40 pounds during that time.

Number 8 was submitted by Teh_Evil_Pickle Danger Dolan

When Dolan was 4, his dad hired a really young babysitter.

A couple minutes after his parents left, the babysitter walked in and screamed, "Get

in your rooms or else!" Dolan and his brother, Zaraganba, immediately went to their rooms.

An hour later, Dolan got bored and went downstairs on a spy mission – where he saw his babysitter

butt-naked on the couch, drinking a beer.

He ran upstairs and said, "The babysitter is drinking apple juice and is naked!"

Zaraganba was shocked and started laughing, until the babysitter yelled, "I need one

of you boys now!"

Dolan hid under Zaraganba's bed, watching as the babysitter came into the room and grabbed

his brother.

Fifteen seconds later, Dolan went downstairs and saw the babysitter shoving Zaraganba's

head into her cleavage!

She kept saying, "Drink beer, or more boobies!"

Zaraganba muffled, "I'll never drink a drop of beer!" Dolan ran to the babysitter

and punched her in the face, then grabbed Zaraganba and ran upstairs to hide under the

bed.

The babysitter came in, grabbed Dolan by the leg, and yanked him out from under the bed.

She licked his ear, then whispered, "I'll love you forever."

When their parents came home, they immediately called the police.

The babysitter was arrested, and their parents never hired a babysitter again.

Number 7 was submitted by Branden166 SaltySquid

When SaltySquid was 7, he came home from school one day and found that his mom, brother, and

sister weren't there.

Just then he began to hear noises in the basement and got scared.

He grabbed an airsoft gun and went downstairs.

As soon as he got to the last step… his babysitter, brother, and sister jumped out

and scared him.

Startled, SaltySquid shot his babysitter, who got furious.

While screaming at him, the babysitter grabbed him by the ear and dragged him upstairs.

She took his airsoft gun and shot him with it.

His brother and sister told her to stop, and she did but said, "You two are right.

I should stop with the airsoft gun.

I have a better idea."

That was when she gave SaltySquid a water bottle and told him to drink some.

He did, but then his babysitter grabbed his nose and squeezed more water down his throat.

He couldn't breathe, and she took away the water bottle.

When she did, he threw up everywhere while his babysitter and sister laughed.

He grabbed a knife and yelled, "Get the fuck out!"

She said, "I wouldn't do that if I were you," then tackled him.

As she grabbed the knife and threw it across the room, his mom came home.

The babysitter began to fake cry and lied by saying SaltySquid attacked her with a knife

and that she was restraining him.

His mom wasn't buying it, and took the babysitter outside to yell at her.

His mom told her to never talk to her kids and step foot on their property again.

SaltySquid later learned that she was arrested and served six years in jail.

Number 6 was submitted by Original_Name89129 Mimi

During summer break, when Mimi was 5, her mom asked a lady who lived across the street

from them to babysit like she usually did.

The lady came over, but sat on the couch and began to drink a bottle of wine until she

got drunk… something she would normally do.

That time, Mimi asked her to stop drinking, but the lady smashed the bottle on the floor

and said, "Okay, I will you whore."

She then proceeded to poop on the floor.

Mimi was so disgusted that she was about to throw up when she heard glass shattering next

to her.

It turned out that the lady got mad at Mimi because there was poop on the floor and had

started throwing bottles at her.

Luckily, her mom came home and pepper-sprayed the babysitter, then grabbed Mimi and took

her outside where she called the cops.

Number 5 was submitted by Banjo12829 Cidius

The worst babysitter Cid ever had was his brother who was super strict.

One time, when Cid was 5, his brother asked him to play a game he made up.

Although Cid was excited, his excitement faded when his brother pulled out a hammer and said

that the game was called, "Hammer Toes."

They started playing, and Cid got scared and pulled a sheet over his head.

When his brother swung the hammer, it hit him on the nose, breaking it.

Number 4 was submitted by Victuri_is_real Hellbent

One day, Hellbent and his brother were watching anime when their babysitter came over.

She brought over some cosplays of the anime characters from Yaoi and made Hellbent and

his brother put them on.

Then, she forced them to make out in front of her!

When their mother came home, Hellbent and his brother told her what happened… but

she didn't believe them.

The next day, their babysitter came back and forced them to wear the cosplays and make

out again.

This time, their mother came home and saw what was going on.

She yelled at their babysitter and fired her.

Hellbent and his brother ended up burning the cosplays.

Number 3 was submitted by RedWolfy94 Andiemations

When she was 9, Andie and her 2-year-old sister were left in a neighbour's apartment while

their mom and grandma ran some errands.

The babysitter sat Andie in front of the TV, where she watched a magic show.

Andie was engulfed in the show when the babysitter told her something and, even though she didn't

know what the babysitter had said, nodded and agreed with her.

She continued to watch the magic show as the babysitter went into the other room.

About an hour or so later, Andie's mom burst through the door, pissed.

Apparently, Andie's 2-year-old sister had crawled out the open door, up the stairs,

and down the driveway!

Her mom and grandma ended up finding her crawling in the middle of the road.

It turned out that the babysitter told Andie to watch her sister.

She even tried to blame Andie for what had happened.

The woman was responsible for watching them yet left the door open and ignored them.

Andie's mom never left her and her sister with the woman ever again.

Number 2 was submitted by EnclaveSergeant Sweetcommando

The worst babysitter Sweetcommando ever had was a teenage girl his parents always left

him with whenever they went out.

Whenever she watched him, she made him massage her feet and file her nails.

She also made him watch very boring TV shows, then lock him in a dark closet for hours.

Then, about half an hour before his parents were due home, the babysitter would let Sweetcommando

out.

One day, he passed out from fear and didn't wake up until a few hours later.

After that, his parents fired her and got Sweetcommando

a new babysitter, who was much nicer.

10 Uncomfortable Signs You're Actually Becoming The Person - Duration: 5:23.

10 Uncomfortable Signs Youre Actually Becoming The Person Youre Meant To Be

1. YOU DO EVERYTHING BY YOURSELF AND FEEL ISOLATED FROM OTHERS.

The more mature you are, the more you can handle everything by yourself and it feels

like you dont want to be anyones burden. Youve even always said, Ive got this,

to those who are sincerely willing to help you.

More often than not, you feel lonely and isolated, but you feel proud of yourself for being strong

and independent at the same time.

2. YOU REALIZE THAT YOU HAVE SOME ISSUES WITH YOURSELF.

You know exactly what you have issues to overcome; whether its about your anxiety, mood swings,

trust issues, or her issues which disturb your well-being.

You will acknowledge when, how, and in what condition those issues will appear and youll

give your best efforts to overcome them.

3. YOU HAVE A STRONG DESIRE TO CUT OFF SOME UNNECESSARY RELATIONSHIPS.

As time goes by, you will feel that you have a lot of acquaintances, but few friends. You

begin to question your relationships with other people; you start to realize whos

real and whos not, who wants to stay or vice versa.

Youll feel disappointed, guilty, and sad towards losing some friends that you loved,

but youre brave enough to leave the relationships which were toxic and emotionally abused your

inner self.

4. ITS HARD FOR YOU TO TRUST PEOPLE. Not only because youre being selective

about your friends, but also because you wont easily buy peoples bullshit. Youve been

disappointed a lot of times by betrayals and broken promises; you know exactly how the

real world works.

But, once you believe in some people, you will be loyal to them and you will do anything

to maintain that relationship.

5. YOU ALWAYS FEEL THAT YOUR LIFE IS BORING. Its hard for you to feel satisfied with

your life; theres always something more you would like to achieve. The same routines

and work will bore you to death and youll always be thinking, Whats next? which

makes you always want to strive more.

Moreover, your life is boring because you have less unnecessary drama in your life-

which is something to be proud of.

6. YOU ARE TOO FAMILIAR WITH THE FEELING OF SADNESS.

For you, life has no sugar coats; there are days when you feel hopeful, but there are

also times when you feel like youre at the lowest point of your life. You are able

to accept the broken hearts, failures, disappointment, and the feeling of sadness.

You acknowledge that life is not always about being happy. But even though you feel the

pain, you are able to bounce back again and realize that there were lessons from everything

that happened.

7. YOU ALWAYS FEEL LIKE YOURE RUNNING OUT OF TIME.

More often than not, you feel that 24 hours a day are not enough. You barely have enough

sleep and you always find yourself in busy situations. Its a struggle for you to spare

time for yourself and your loved ones.

There will always be something you have to do and sometimes you are too hard on yourself

in doing things. This means that you have a strong determination to be successful.

8. YOU REGRET THE MISTAKES YOUVE MADE IN THE PAST.

Its easy for you to blame yourself for any mistakes that you made in the past. You

acknowledge that youve made some bad decisions and sometimes you want everything to go back

to how it used to be.

But, you realize that regret will take you nowhere and the only thing that you can do

is to not repeat the same mistakes youve done.

9. YOU ALWAYS MISS YOUR CHILDHOOD, FAMILY, AND YOUR LOVED ONES.

Growing up sucks and you always find yourself looking back to your old life when everything

was according to its place. You live on your own and being separated from your family and

loved ones are not easy at all.

But, deep down inside you dont want to give up; youre fully aware that all the

struggles and success will be the best gift for all the people that you love.

10. YOU FEEL LOST, CONFUSED, AND ANXIOUS ABOUT YOUR FUTURE.

You appear to be bold and strong, but most of the time you feel extremely insecure about

your own life. Youve always questioned yourself regarding what you really need and

what your life purpose is.

You dont exactly know how life supposed to be, simply because many unexpected things

happen. But, despite all the confusions and fears, you can manage yourself to always finish

your responsibilities and work.

At the end of the day, you always take things one day at a time and you fully understand

that everything will happen according to your own time zone.

Christine Caron and the "Kikimania" - Hello Dippers #63 - Duration: 7:12.

Hello Dippers !

I will dedicate this episode to the most Parisian French Champion

of Swimming, who was an icon of the women's sport in the 60's and who

still talk about her with great pleasure today, I named Christine Caron!

- A big comeback in Yéyé years,

we will do it in song! - Attention, you! No song from you

in all cases ! - Just a little ditty?

- Oh no! Back in those cradled years glamor, glory and victory!

Christine Caron was born on July 10, 1948 in the 14th arrondissement of Paris.

It is within the Racing Club de France that she makes his debut in the basins

accompanied by his coach Suzanne Berlioux, the Philippe Lucas to the feminine in short, the

glasses less and the long skirt and more! The craze surrounding the personality

from Christine goes back to the early years 1960.

At that time, she records at the age of 14 years her first European records back, his specialty.

A year later, in mid-June 1964, she tackles the 100m backstroke world record, which she will beat in 1min 08s 6.

The media are rushing towards her: her franc talked about Parisian titi immediately

seduces the French public and this girl who is presented as a Frenchman

living in a simple suburb, in Montrouge, fighting for success helps ample

people to easily identify with it.

It is nicknamed "Kiki", from there is primed the "Kikimania"!

- Uh, Kiki? - But no ! You already made that one

fool! Do not do the innocent!

The Tokyo Olympics arriving in autumn 1964.

Meanwhile, Christine is deprived of her 100m backstroke world record by American Virginia Duenkel.

It's this same Virginia that Kiki will challenge at the Tokyo Olympics on the 100m Dos final,

that it will advance but will be beaten by a other American double champion of her

country: Cathy Fergusson.

Even if she presented herself as the favorite of this final and even if she missed

the Olympic title of half a hand, the color the medal does not matter to Christine

who takes this as a great victory.

Christine will redouble effort later where it will go 2 to 3 kilometers

each workout, basically composed crawl and back.

- 2 to 3 kilometers each training ... It was the 60s!

- Hey coach, I can settle for 3000m for this training?

- Oh no, 5000m pap and that jump! And true Pap! No swimming of little dog!

Alongside her coach, the inflexible Suzanne Berlioux, Kiki travels the globe at the whim of the invitations.

These many trips will take her to Australia, where she will become National Champion of

110 and 220 Yards in Dos, Mexico or she will also be champion but also to

United States where in 1965, it will become the first French champion of the United States,

and even the very first foreigner to win this competition, a kind of Championships

of the World before the time (the real world Swimming will only be instituted from

of 1973) ahead of the one who deprived Olympic title a year earlier: Cathy Ferguson.

At the European Championships in 1966 in Utrecht in the Netherlands, Kiki easily removes the

European title of the 100m backstroke in 1min 8s 1 ahead of Britain's Linda Ludgrove and Romania's Cristina Balaban.

During this period, in addition to dominating widely the 100m backstroke she establishes several

European records of the 200m backstroke, of which the fastest (2min 27s 9) will continue even until 1970.

All his exploits will be worth to him to be received at the Elysee Palace by President Charles de

Gaulle who admitted that we see it more often on TV than him! It's clear

that a French sportswoman in the years 60 who wins nothing but an international medal,

whatever the color was a huge event in all Hexagon! It's like

that she finds herself at one of all People magazines like Paris Match, which

take the opportunity to make their fillies, the first sports people in some ways,

long before a certain Laure Manaudou, who succeeded him forty years later to the rank of icon of basins.

- Oh well, because Kiki also made pictures naked with his mobile phone?

- But think a little! Selfies were not not yet trend in the 60s! pffff

!

The Olympic Games are looming in 1968, but Christine Caron has already made the decision

to retire before the competition.

But she is named flag bearer of the France for the investiture ceremony of

this Olympiad, highly symbolic honor that she will accept without hesitation, given

that no French woman had ever been before, and even almost no woman in the world so far.

On the other hand, she will introduce herself in Mexico without any particular ambition.

What will be felt in the results: Kiki is eliminated from the playoffs on the

200m back and does not pass the semifinals on 100m back.

Caron leaves the basins by the little door.

As soon as his sports retreat started, the proposals from all sides tributary! His physique and his

temperament lead him to multiply quite diverse experiences as in the

cinema where Kiki makes appearances like in the movie "La Piscine" by Jacques Deray

with Alain Delon or "Violentata sulla sabbia "by Renzo Cerrato, makes other appearances

various as at the Paris-Dakar or in modeling.

Some critics like Claude's Sarraute will say that she's probably making a

little too much, like to start the song ...

- We suspect an adventure between Kiki and the singer Claude-François ...

- Dance with Kiki, woudou woudou wou! Dance with the arms!

- Well, I already warned you! You go to have your punishment!

It will even be suggested to Christine to occur at the Olympia, but she decided at that moment

"to stop the massacre" according to him.

After publishing his sports memoirs ("Like a fish in the water"), she opera

a stealthy return to competition, winning again easily the national title of the

100 meters back in 1971.

Kiki will continue to frequent the pools, but more in a spirit of competition,

but above all for leisure and maintenance of the physical form, which can be seen in

she, still shining in 2006, well it receives far less proposal

of marriage, when she was appointed president of the swimming section of Paris

Racing, now in the hands of the group Lagardère.

Today, there is one area where she did not dive, it's politics.

When asked if she would see Secretary State Sports, she refutes by explaining

that she is now enjoying life, with his friends, his children and grandchildren.

The family in short, which represents well more than a well-developed sporting past ...

This episode on Christine Caron now touches at its end.

Feel free to leave inches in the air and comments at the bottom of this video.

It would help me to make the show more visible, a show that asks me a lot

time in volunteering.

As a result, I would not be against a small Tipeee tip;)

As for me, I leave you.

I'm in charge of giving the bather his daily dose of Atharax ...

We COULDN'T be more excited!!! 🤗 | Decaf Adventures - Duration: 8:23.

Hello, everybody, welcome back to... actually, wait, this is Decaf Adventures right?

Yep

Let's not be so formal then

We're going, terlederlederg gorge

Lerderderg

I gotta wind the window up...

yeah, what actually is it? - Lerderderg.

no

There's no T? -No

Yeah, we're going to Lerderderg

This, is sort of behind the scenes of our next review or probably ready up by now

latest review, yeah

Alright so come along, and we'll see how it goes - yeah we will! little behind scenes action yeah

Hey, guys, welcome back to decaffeinated photography i am alex, and i'm josh

how serene

All right, we got a?

bear with me

Polaroid 3200 af with a, hair, -With a hair, what - with a hair, hold on

The stuff that Josh doesn't like

So what we usually do over here

Usually just before we shoot we take a look at the script and go over it one more time and put the film in

And put the film in probably the most important part

And i think, we have enough shots of us putting film in the camera

We've done it a few times so it's not needed today but we've done it a few times

we did it before we've done it once

We've done it once and we didn't use it

So you wanna start walking somewhere

So we reached 500 subs

very recently

and

We're very excited that, we did, we're on 508 now i think, why, -508 -yeah at the time of recording this video

That's definitely not that anything i would have like -

Seen as in the realm of possibility, - why, you didn't believe in us Alex

No, no i know it's not

Hmm i know it's just kind of hard to believe like 500 subs we're. No bowing up anything but

We're definitely growing steadily i think

it's pretty cool, that i

Mean, oh that's cool, okay, there's a school tour, do you reckon we're gonna get meme'd here?

We got meme'd

We're out here in Lerderderg Gorge

Shout out to the toronto raptors tweet this at them, maybe i'll see it and find this

30-second segment of the video, where, we talk about the raptors everyone on the

youtube channel and they

Are talking about

But it's pretty cool, how, um the milestone of five hundred subs sort of hit at the same time as

We hit one year yeah on youtube yeah what are, we today if every third, fourth, fifth, sixth

yeah

I knew one of those numbers, would be it

Do you reckon it would take a long time to get to the top of that mountain

Probably, would say so yeah i agree yeah

Should, we keep going yeah

i really, like, the style of the

Vlogging or like decaf adventure type videos

Just cuz, it's. Chill and like obviously the reviews have their part and our

You know decaf news, also has its part which is why it's something?

New, yeah a little segment that i really i really, enjoy, doing that just like a little a

little informative

Informational video you know, that's really cool, so we have a few a few different

pages to our book

Memes

what's happening here josh we're at a cross roads

Like, Logan Paul that's a nice segue?

all right

Let's not let's not be like a logan Paul here we go?

Well i could, take that what's up mavericks how's it gonna have to pop it

All right i'm gonna walk, away i'm gonna go this, way all right yeah

i

Didn't nearly, trip don't know, what you're talking about

i

know i know

Okay, so good friend Jinny

definitely gave us a christmas present, and

got it through

Stencilbae on instagram and we can put the link and then

And so, we have two personalized decaffeinated photography shirts

Do comment if you'd like to see something, like this on a market place, haha

And what is probably the, main selling point of this camera is the pattern, we don't get that bear there's nothing all right

Good, job pretty good good

Fair exchange deal a hundred hey, you so pretty, oh?

Well hey, oh i almost let, them die oh

Two black, borders just to uh

spot on josh

Now definitely coming, again the Lerderderg gorge gone maybe bring like swimmers like, yes weren't rocks, oh no?

Bring, some professional swimmers yet professional working sir in this

Having, any thought hey microphone as, well

Was the one that, was done for like a, some sort of scandal

I reckon this is the end of the adventures

No, we don't call it but, like this is gonna be the end show. Okay?

i

Really, like doing decaf

And i enjoyed iike and a decaf this foot and i'm just glad it's not double different feel

And that's all i have to say on the matter

Thank you and goodbye thank you for watching i'll catch you in the next one you creepers, okay?

You're, over there such a creep shot don't you reckon

Why, don't, we use that in video?

One Simple Technique to INCREASE YOUR CONCENTRATION, Worshipping Explained - Ramana Maharshi - Duration: 1:53.

Worship might also take the form of concentration on one of the Hindu gods, that is one of the modes in which Hindus conceive of God. D.: What are the steps of practical training? B.: It depends on the qualifications and nature of the seeker. D.: I worship an idol. B.: Go on doing so. It leads to concentration of mind. Get one-pointed. All will come right in the end. People think that Liberation (moksha) is somewhere outside them to be sought for. They are wrong. It is only knowing the Self in you. Concentrate, and you will get it. It is your mind that is the cycle of births and deaths (samsara). D.: My mind is very unsteady. What should I do? B.: Fix your attention on any single thing and try to hold on to it. Everything will come right. D.: I find concentration difficult. B.: Keep on practising and your concentration will come to be as easy as breathing. That will be the crown of your achievement. However he did not approve of the desire to see visions – or in fact, any desire at all, even the desire for rapid realisation.

Hillary Just Chimed In On Florida School Shooting And Is Caught In A Jaw-Dropping Admission - Duration: 5:48.

Hillary Just Chimed In On Florida School Shooting And Is Caught In A Jaw-Dropping Admission.

It has almost been a week since the tragic shooting in Parkland, Florida that claimed

the lives of 17 innocent victims and injured 14 others.

Instead of the mainstream liberal media honoring the lives of those that lost their lives they

have decided to jump on their soapbox and lecture the country on gun control.

While these vultures in the liberal camp continue to manipulate the public's emotions concerning

the high school massacre, Hillary Clinton had to make her opinion known by chiming in

with a stunning claim that has jaws dropping.

After a string of gun violence in the last several months, the left has been doing all

that they can to further their gun control agenda by playing on emotions of weary Americans

racked with grief.

To sway the public's perception, these gun-grabbing liberals are claiming that the only way to

protect the population and protect our children is more government control and to ban inanimate

objects.

However, not everyone is buying it, but that has not stopped them, and now these leftist

are going one step further by lying outright to the public.

And, of course, Hillary Clinton is leading the charge with gun myths.

After Hillary Clinton lost the election to Donald Trump we all hoped she would crawl

into a cave and stay there for the rest of her life.

However, the country was not that lucky as Hillary has continued to fan the flames of

division with her rhetoric to resist President Trump.

Even in the aftermath of the latest school shooting that took place in South Florida

last Wednesday, the two time failed presidential candidate has reared her head to politicize

the tragedy in a series of tweets packed with lies.

While that tweet does well to tug at the heartstrings of the public the next one Hillary posted

was an outright lie that has shocked everyone.

"This week we lost 17 Americans in Parkland — the deadliest school shooting since Sandy

Hook in 2012," Clinton tweeted Sunday."Since then, 438 people have been shot and 138 killed

in over 230 school shootings.

That's 5 school shootings every month, 16 of which classify as 'mass shootings.'"

If you take a closer look at the last sentence of Clinton's tweet, it may seem a tad off

or confusing, right?

Well, the reason why is that statistic is an outright lie that came from Everytown for

Gun Safety, a far-left gun control group.

This statistic is so far off the mark that even The Washington Post had to call out Hillary

Clinton for using such a blatant lie in her tweet.

Here is more from Conservative Tribune:

As The Washington Post notes, that statistic is from Everytown for Gun Safety, a heavily

astroturfed, left-wing, gun control group.

And its statistics on school shootings were so misleading that even the WaPo — hardly

a den of covert NRA activity — wrote an article about the group's statistics bluntly

titled, "No, there haven't been 18 school shootings in 2018.

That number is flat wrong."

"The figure originated with Everytown for Gun Safety, a nonprofit group, co-founded

by Michael Bloomberg, that works to prevent gun violence and is most famous for its running

tally of school shootings," the newspaper reported.

"A tweet by Sen. Bernie Sanders including the claim had been liked more than 45,000

times by Thursday evening, and one from political analyst Jeff Greenfield had cracked 126,000.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted it, too, as did performers Cher and Alexander

William and actors Misha Collins and Albert Brooks.

News organizations — including MSNBC, ABC News, NBC News, CBS News, Time, MSN, the BBC,

the New York Daily News and HuffPost — also used the number in their coverage."

However, as The Washington Post noted, "Everytown has long inflated its total by including incidents

of gunfire that are not really school shootings.

Take, for example, what it counted as the year's first: On the afternoon of Jan. 3,

a 31-year-old man who had parked outside a Michigan elementary school called police to

say he was armed and suicidal.

Several hours later, he killed himself.

The school, however, had been closed for seven months.

There were no teachers.

There were no students.

"Also listed on the organization's site is an incident from Jan. 20, when at 1 a.m.

a man was shot at a sorority event on the campus of Wake Forest University.

A week later, as a basketball game was being played at a Michigan high school, someone

fired several rounds from a gun in the parking lot.

No one was injured, and it was past 8 p.m., well after classes had ended for the day,

but Everytown still labeled it a school shooting."

Everytown's definition of a school shooting — "any time a firearm discharges a live

round inside a school building or on a school campus or grounds" — is obviously deceptive.

And Hillary Clinton obviously knows that.

According to USA Today, the actual number of fatal school shooting incidents since Columbine

in 1999 is 25 — certainly no small number, but nowhere near 230 school shootings since

2012.

It is shameful that Hillary Clinton would use this tragedy to push gun control, but

what is worse is that she would use lies to make it happen, but let's face it that is

all she has ever used.

As we all know, Hillary is not one to bring the country together in unity but only focuses

on division and fear to make her point.

Hopefully, more people will realize that after this latest disgrace of tweets and write her

off for good!

Recruiting a Notetaker - Duration: 2:23.

Are you having trouble finding a notetaker in your course?

If you are, here are some strategies for recruiting the best person to succeed.

The first strategy is to identify a notetaker in class.

After observing students for the first couple of days in class, you may want to identify

a potential classmate who pays attention and attends class daily.

Or, you may already know a student who can serve as your notetaker in class.

To ensure you receive quality notes, ask for a sample of your classmate's notes to ensure

quality and thoroughness.

Make sure to communicate with a potential notetaker to discuss if they are interested

in sharing their notes throughout the semester.

Please make sure to inform your notetaker, that for the Fall or Spring semester, he or

she will qualify for early registration next semester.

During the Summer and Winter term, your notetaker will be eligible for a gift card.

The second strategy is to recruit a notetaker by sending an anonymous mass email to the class.

If you are unable to identify a notetaker, you may send an anonymous auto-generated email

from SAAS with information regarding the notetaker application process to the entire class, inviting

students to participate as a notetaker in the course.

This is the least desirable way of finding a notetaker because you will receive many

replies from your request and you will still have to choose from the list of potential notetakers.

From the potential list of notetakers, you still want to communicate with them to ensure quality notes.

An alternative strategy is to have your instructor make an announcement to the class.

In a confidential manner, your course instructor may ask the class if there's anyone available

and willing to share their notes throughout the semester.

As a reminder, check your classmates notes for clarity and thoroughness.

Lastly, after choosing your preferred strategy, please make sure to log on to SAAS to recruit your notetaker.

3 Easy DIY Bookmarks | TuTu Ep 33 - Duration: 11:37.

hey crafters Amanda here and happy Tuesday so today you know we're back to

school I'm finally just about caught up on all my school stuff because as I told

you last week I was sick with the flu way behind so it's been a crazy week

school has been very much on my mind so I thought that today we would do kind of

a school themed project where it's a little bit kind of like an after-school

craft and it also can be used for school or you can just use it for normal books

but today I am going to be showing you three fun ways to make super easy and

adorable bookmarks so these aren't your conventional bookmarks or not just a

piece of paper with a pre design mint these are really cool and I'm gonna walk

you through a couple different ones and you can use these to mark your school

projects or you can use them just with normal books since I'm going to be

showing three different bookmarks I actually picked out my favorite trilogy

so just books you know not school so fun books that I'll be using to put the

bookmarks in which office I'm not reading all for your books like trilogy

on ones could be kind of weird but anyways I've got those so let's get into

our first bookmark the 1st bookmark we're going to be making is just a basic

ribbon bookmark and so what we're going to do is I just got this nice ribbon

here it's actually called grosgrain which I did not know that it's just

basic ribbon like you find at Walmart or in the crafts section kind of has that

ribbing textured look to it so I used a pair of scissors and just cut out a

length of ribbon it doesn't need to be super long you can make it so it hangs

at the bottom if you want or you can make it so it doesn't hang at the bottom

I'm choosing to make mine short enough where it won't hang out the bottom now

when you cut fabrics and things sometimes they want to fray so like this

right here you might be able to see that little bit there that's already kind of

coming and done so to prevent from fraying anymore I'm going to use a wood

burner and just burn the ends my wood burner here and I'm just gonna touch

this ribbon to the side and what it does is it melts the end

kind of seals it so that way it won't be able to frame or if you don't have a

wood burner don't worry you can use either a match or a lighter and just

gently burn the end and that'll basically seal the edge to keep it from

fraying now do use your wood burner in a

well-ventilated area just because it might smoke a little bit if the ribbon

that you melt and builds up on there so I had this bookmark here that I already

glued I just took a seashell that was pretty and glued it on there so super

simple this one I'm going to glue googly eyes on to just a basic button with some

hot glue and then put it on here I'll just make kind of a fun face

and now that my bookmarks are all glued together I've put them into the first

book of The Hunger Games and you can just open right up to your bookmark find

wherever you left off and you get a super cute way to keep track of where

you are in your book so our second bookmark idea is going to

involve a paperclip and a little bit of polymer clay so the idea with this

project is we're going to make a little something out of polymer clay I'm gonna

make a ladybug for this example and put it on the top of the paperclip and then

the paperclip will be able to slide into the book or your school notes and act as

a bookmark now this is kind of a funky looking paperclip and the reason that is

is because it was a paper clip that looked like this now because I put the

polymer clay on the paperclip and then just baked a paperclip because the paper

clips metal so it's fine to go in the oven with the polymer clay because I do

that I don't want this plastic coating going in the oven because that's just

not gonna end well so what I did was because I didn't have

any paper clips that weren't cute and colorful I had to remove this so if you

have normal paper clips just use them if not you can actually remove the plastic

that's on the paper clip now if you've never had a strip of wire with like

electrical stuff you're gonna want either a pair of scissors or in this

case I have my needle nose pliers which have the nice little cutters there in

the bottom and they're gonna have to unbend your paper clip that's why this

one looks weird Excite invented Andry bent it but you just unbend your paper

clip come down a little ways down the plastic you're just gonna squeeze and

kind of turn it and you don't want to cut through the wire but what you're

trying to do is you're trying to cut through the plastic so I'm just kind of

going around here you can see that we've cut all the way around and condors made

a cut in there so let's do that you can either use your fingers which I'm going

to or you can hold it in cutters or the scissors you're just going to pull and

what's going to happen you've cut through it all the way if that piece is

going to slide right off so that's how you strip a wire that's how you can

strip a paperclip I'm not going to show you the whole process but that's the

basic idea or you can just get a paper clip that's already metal and doesn't

have plastic on it so just a little freebie in there but I'm

just going to make a nice little ladybug out of my clay you can obviously make

whatever you want make sure you put it at this top not the open end

and now I just need to bake this so here's my ladybug she's a snowman that I

made a while back just a different example of some ideas of what you can

make and then I also want to show you I've got Catching Fire here and I found

this cute bumblebee one but if we open up to the page you'll notice that it is

on the green one so another option of course is to make your clay piece and

then just hot glue it on to the paper clip for our last bookmark we're going

to make a paper bookmark but this isn't your typical paper bookmark thought you

just stick in there and slide between the pages we're going to fold this up

and make it look super cute so I've got a piece of paper that is two-and-a-half

inches by four and a half inches just a nice little rectangle and I'm going to

start by footing my paper in half longways I was little we called these

hot dog falls because it's like a hot dog bun you fold it and it stays long

and narrow but if we'd folded it the other way it would have been called a

hamburger bun so that's just a fun little way so we do a hot dog fold and

then I'm going to fold it in half now a hamburger for me because I'm gonna fold

it in half to make it shorter instead of making it long like a hot dog so there

we go I've got this little open thing here and I've got my piece here so what

I want to do now I've got the opened end up here is I'm going to use this middle

crease that we just folded as a guide and I'm going to fold this bottom edge

up to the middle piece so I'm gonna bring this bottom edge up just like this

and now once it's lined up nicely I will crease it so you can kind of see

it makes this almost like triangle shape here with a little bit left at the top

and I'm gonna do the same on the other side just bring this edge right up a

side there and there we go and I want to flip it over going to start by taking

these top edges and folding that book down just a little bit to the same

height nothing precise nothing measured with these folds just make sure that it

looks even now at this point you might start to see

what we're making and the last thing I want to do is I want to just fold in

this corner here I'm just gonna fold it down a little bit again the folds don't

need to be super precise just a fold down like that I'm gonna take this spot

right here fold it down also do a fold on this side with this top left corner

fold on the top right corner and if we flip it over we have a super cute heart

and we've got this little pocket here that we'll be able to slide into the

pages corners now what I like to do with this is I like to take these down just

cuz it helps it go in the book better the first time once you use it the book

will flatten it out better so I just got some tape here with me you might

remember from last week's video how I ran out of scotch tape upstairs and

someone left the empty table while I still haven't done anything about it so

I had it cut off some of you know a big packing tape rolling no big deal I'm

also gonna tape across between back out there but I want to make sure I don't

tape this down we want to keep that nice little pocket there if you choose to

tape it make sure you trim down your edges so you don't have any reveal tape

because if you have any exposed tape when you put it in your book it will

burn your books pages and that would be very bad but now we've got this cute

little heart and I've got Mockingjay here which I feel like a heart is very

appropriate for this book because after you read this book your heart is broken

so we're gonna replace all the broken hearts from this book but you just open

it up to whatever page are on and slide it on the corner of the page and it

makes this super cute bookmark and also what I like about this is because it's

further to the edge it's not keeping the binding of the book way down here super

open so that's a little bit better for the book personally and of course you

can use thinner paper it will be even better but now you've got a super cute

bookmark that's also a paper heart I hope y'all enjoy making these three fun

bookmarks you can use them for your school work you can use them for any fun

books your reading whatever you want to use them wherever you need a mark your

place now you've got a bookmark to do it so as always if you enjoyed this video

give it a thumbs up I really appreciate that and also I would earn ously beg you

to please subscribe if you haven't already so I do

YouTube and I have my blog and it's because I love crafting and it's a way

for me to earn money doing something that I love and it helps me pay school

bills what helps me pay gas money so this is something I really want to see

as a sustainable source of income for me however you might have heard that

YouTube recently updated their monetization policies and so basically

what that means is because I don't meet the subscriber account because I don't

yet have 1,000 subscribers on my account I'm going to be losing my ad money very

soon actually today I think is a day that kicks in so I would beg you if you

want to support young entrepreneurs if you want to support young entrepreneur

entrepreneur entrepreneur so if you want to support young entrepreneurial spirits

I can't say that word today we're just gonna go with that then I would beg of

you that you would consider subscribing you know it's not any kind of commitment

on your part you know you can also at the notifications and you'll get

notifications but other than that it's really not a huge deal but it just

ensures that you don't miss out on videos and it also would greatly help me

be able to keep going with this YouTube adventure so I'm just gonna put that

shameless little plug out there if you haven't subscribe it would make me

extremely happy if you did subscribe and of course it doesn't cost you anything

you might have an ad or something pop-up but other than that there's no downside

to you and actually get a benefit because it enables me to keep making

these videos so without your subscriptions to my channel I'm not

gonna be able to keep doing this so I would beg you please please please

subscribe and help me keep going with this crackers autonomous journey so

anyways I hope you'll consider that let me know in the comments below which

bookmark idea was your favorite and also if you have any good book

recommendations put those below to you know because I like to read don't have

too much time with it with school but I always enjoy hearing what people are

reading so here's a nice little heart just for you because I love all of my

crafters and my subscribers and I hope you all have a great week happy crafting

so not only is today the day that the new YouTube policies go into effect but

it is also a horrible day known as kick a jr. Day which is essentially a day

dedicated to bullying gingers and let me say that's not cool so all my crap is up

there do not be a part of that because because

gingers are actually kind of cool people I mean what can I say

Contemporary-a-thon Round 2 Wrap-up | BookTube - Duration: 12:40.

I read one extra book just because I could.

Hello, I'm Rogan and welcome to my Contemporary-a-thon wrapup.

If you watched my TBR, you'll know that I was unsure about getting some books on the list because they

were from the library, and on hold, ebooks, whatever.

Thank the book gods, I got everything on my list and more!

I decided to get the thin, easy one out of the way first, so I went and read

"Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet Vol. 2" first.

It's fitting because the movie just came out this past weekend, and I most likely will be going to see it

tomorrow night. Tomorrow being Tuesday.

This was a graphic novel, I've already read Vol. 1.

Vol. 2 is more of the same, I wasn't wowed by it but I enjoyed it. I didn't hate it, no. I liked it.

I haven't seen the movie, I will soon, but um...

So I can't really compare, but this book is basically about him trying to quell all of the uprisings of all the different

tribes in Wakanda. Being a king, the king's duties, what (he) has to do to deal with that,

and not go against (his) morals.

It did have one part where it had a few other black supers show up like Luke Cage, Storm, Misty, Manifold.

I think that's it. So that was nice to see, familiar faces. "Familiar."

If you like graphic novels, if you like Black Panther, read this.

Next, THUG. Or "The Hate U Give."

This. Was. AMAZING.

Really... Touching.

This story focuses on 16-year-old Starr Carter, who lives in two worlds: her poor black neighborhood

and a fancy suburban prep school that she attends.

That uneasy balance is destroyed when she sees her childhood best friend get shot by police and die.

Soon after, his death became a national headline. Many called him a thug, drug dealer, gangbanger.

It quickly became clear that the police had no interest in investigating his death so protests break out.

Starr's neighborhood becomes a war zone, many (buildings are) destroyed. All the people want to know:

what really happened? The only person who can answer that is Starr. Will she speak up or not?

This book does a really good job of exploring the conflict of what to do. Should (she) speak up? Should (she) not?

If (she) speaks up, that could be beneficial, but it could also put (her) in danger.

But if (she) doesn't speak up, then... That goes unpunished, and (she) lives with that guilt. What to do?

It's really good.

Now, I, as a white person, can never understand that struggle, because this...

That's a black struggle, it's not a white struggle. So... I will never (fully) understand this but...

This book does a really good job of conveying that conflict.

This book is amazing. If you haven't read it, READ IT. It's SO good.

I just realized I completely forgot to tell you what I'm reading the books for.

First, "Black Panther" is for graphic novel, obviously.

Second, "The Hate U Give" was for hyped contemporary book. Moving on!

Next, dark/taboo contemporary book, I read "The Serpent King."

I...

I went into this not really expecting anything, and wow I was surprised.

This book was written with three different perspectives, alternating the chapters.

First, Dill, the only son of a Pentecostal minister who encourages him to handle poisonous rattlesnakes.

Dill is also bullied by people at school because of his father's extreme faith and fall from grace because

he was caught doing something bad and is now in jail.

The other two are friends of Dill.

Lydia who has a trendy fashion blog, which is her ticket out of the rural Tennessee town.

Travis who is a nerd, he loves a book series that he's really into, and is happy with that,

he doesn't need anything else. All of them are outcasts in a way.

The story mainly focuses on Dill and his struggles. He feels stuck there.

He doesn't know what he wants. The only way he can make himself happy is his music

and his feelings for Lydia, which he can't admit.

I'm not going any further. You need to read this. It's really good.

Something happens that I did not see coming, and...

I wasn't prepared for it.

But yes, read it.

Next is a book that was recommended to me, by Kathy. And yes Kathy, thank you for recommending this!

[Words in Deep Blue]

Amazing.

I need to get my own copy.

This book alternates between the perspectives of Rachel and Henry.

Henry's family owns a bookstore. Rachel and Henry were best friends.

Rachel moved away, but before she moved, she left a love letter in his favorite book in his family's bookstore.

She never heard from Henry, so she left it alone.

Years later, Rachel moves back, and ends up working in the bookstore. Awkward things happen.

I love this. I love that niche of books about books, and the stories that go with books.

This is a romance story, kind of. But it doesn't immediately feel like one, so that's good. I like that.

I really liked this book overall. Yes, read it. Yes.

I'm starting to take a little bit long with this video, so I'm going to get through it.

Next book is pink on the cover, I chose Geekerella. It counts! The pink here, it counts.

This is an adorable book. It has a few flaws, problems with it, but in general, I really enjoyed reading this book.

It's obviously geeky. There are A LOT references to pop culture, fandoms, etc. It's adorable.

It follows Elle, short for Danielle, who has an obsession for a TV show, Starfield.

They're doing a reboot of it, she doesn't like the choice of actors, she's angry about it.

She starts texting with someone, kind of falls in love, maybe.

They both have an obsession with Starfield, they talk about it, lalala. It's adorable!

This is a really little thing, but the cover bothers me that it doesn't really match the book's description

of the truck but it's not really that important.

If you enjoy fandoms, you enjoy geekdoom, a re-telling of Cinderella, this is a good read.

Next, a diverse contemporary book, "Behold the Dreamers."

When I first saw the title, I thought it was talking about the DREAM Act, but reading it, oh no it's not.

BUT it does focus on a family that moved from Limbe, which is in Cameroon.

They moved to Harlem, (the father) got a job as a chauffeur for a white family.

It talks about their struggles with that job, their family trying to stay in New York.

He doesn't have his papers, he's trying to get his papers, and so on.

There is a lot going on in this book, but I don't want to go too in-depth because I think you should read it

without really knowing that much about it so you're surprised by it.

But this is a really good read. Yes, absolutely yes.

Next, your most recent contemporary you purchased/acquired, "Homegoing."

It has a very interesting way of telling the story.

It follows two half-sisters from Ghana through eight generations of their family lines.

One sister married an Englishman, and lived a life of comfort. The other one was taken and sold into slavery.

The way the story is told, each chapter moves to a new person in the family line.

So it'll start with one sister, go to the other sister, back to the first sister's child,

then second sister's child, and so on.

Obviously, it jumps in time. It covers the Gold Coast slave trade, plantations in Mississippi,

the American Civil War, Jazz Age Harlem, and modern-day United States.

This was amazingly written. It was a little bit jarring because of a very different style of writing,

jumping in time every time you get to a new chapter. But it was very fascinating, I enjoyed reading this.

Even though a lot of awful things happened in it.

I would recommend anyone read this, and I mean anyone.

That's it for seven books, BUT!

Since I had a back-up book for pink on the cover, I decided why not go ahead and read it?

I had time before the week was over, so.

"I Hate Everyone But You."

It was written by two people, Gaby Dunn and Allison Raskin.

They have a YouTube channel called Just Between Us.

The book follows two people, Gen and Ava, who became best friends in high school. Both go off to college.

Gen goes to New York for college.

She talks about exploring herself, figuring out who she is as a queer person.

Ava stays home (for college), she's straight, Jewish.

The book is written in the format of texts and emails between them.

So that took some getting used to that style of writing.

I don't really know Gaby and Allison that well, I do occasionally watch their JBU videos, I enjoy them, I do.

This book was good, yes, but...

I admit, I did watch Nirali's, from firewordsparkler, review of "I Hate Everyone But You."

And I have to say, I agree with her about this feeling like a fanfic, almost, of Gaby and Allison's lives,

what it would have been like if they'd met earlier.

It is very obvious that these characters are based on Allison and Gaby, Ava and Gen.

It was a little hard to separate the characters from them, because really, who the character is,

what their identity is, and so on is the same as their real-life counterparts.

So I just wish they had changed a little bit, just enough that it's not THEM, cut and dried.

Another thing that kind of bothered me, Nirali mentioned it, and I agree.

The emails and texts have no dates with them. Texts did have times, emails have none.

Nothing wrong with that, but... It wasn't clear that this was happening over only one semester until like,

later, near maybe two-thirds into the book.

The only reason why it becomes obvious is because they're talking about Halloween.

So I just wish they had dates so we could see if they were messaging each other every day or if they

were messaging every two, three days, or... Months in between, or...

Just something to make it clearer what the timeline is, so we know this is happening over only four months,

not a whole school year.

All of that aside, I did enjoy this book. It's good, just a different style that takes a bit getting used to.

Aaaand I'm finally finished!

I was very happy this month with four books with black stories, especially during Black History Month. So.

Dark souls boss guide: Gaping Dragon no health loss - Duration: 3:20.

Bosses I've seen quite a few of them during my time as a gamer and believe me

That's quite a long time some of them have been massive in scale some of them have been kind of small

others have been

They've been weird others have been a kind of creepy

But you know I thought I'd seen it all till I played Dark Souls to a certain level and saw this oh

Yeah, this is why we nuked the Japanese in World War two

All right now the first thing you want to do is have a weapon you can wield

Two-handed much like this one though I'm not sure there any crowbars in the game

Seriously missed connection there Dark Souls, but nonetheless you what a weapon you can wield two handed

I know you all have at least one of them, and you'll want to remove all armor from the NPC

No not for that reason

Look you want to have at least a good amount of speed for this boss who trusts me speed is key

And after that we have our weapon handy we go through the realm or the veil of fog

oh, yeah, we go against the supermodel that has gone horribly wrong and

After that he will slam down and charge

Thankfully can easily be avoided and your first priority is to have five swipes run towards the tail to cut the tail off

And for doing so you also get a very cool weapon

Unfortunately not this one though but moving on after this he will walk towards you slowly

And he will try to swipe at you with both hands and feet, thankfully. It's easy to avoid with the dodge roll

But then sooner or later he gets this new attack and it's um

How do we explain it?

well basically he becomes berlimic

Mean yeah, look look at that. It is this is there any is there any other word, but for that attack really?

obviously if it if I need to tell you get the hell away from that attack stay the hell away run little hell away from

It don't let it get on you

And after that for the most part long as you can predict those patterns

The boss becomes a bit of a bore you can just jump behind it right after he charges and attacked the tail area five times

Boss becomes easy, easy the point that we can speed this up

And

That's the gaping dragon down

After days of work the bastard finally got what's coming to him
