I had a vague dream about getting a job related to broadcasting
If so I thought I could give people good energy
I was really proud when people happily watched me
I wanted to give people the information they needed
considering what kind of job, I could approach you with ease
So, because I wanted to work on forecasting weather
As I happened to watch the news, a weather caster came out and forecasted the weather
I fell in love with that job
I majored in science
I was interested in science and those things
I supposed it fit me, so I decided to be a weather forecaster
How come you miss the weather every day?
We write a script based on the information from the Korea Meteorological Administration
We're curious, too
On behalf of (the Korea Meteorological Administration)
They tend to analyze them based on past years' weather data
But I think we also have climate problems these days
Korea has really unique geographical features
It has three oceans surrounding us and big mountain ranges in the middle
It's dynamic, right?
So they say it is very hard to predict
Forecasters at the Korea Meteorological Administration are also working very hard
Sometimes it gets foggy without any fine dust But since it isn't clear, people consider it as fine dust all over
You may get me wrong
People told us that we were lying...
Sometimes it's unfair
The comment says that we are the government's tools
Participate in the government's conspiracy
No, we forecast based on accurate objective data
Isn't it a short career?
Suddenly tears drop out of my eyes
Since most of us are freelancers we don't have a guarantee
But it requires specialized knowledge
I think it's a career build up so I can keep working
One of my senior gave birth and is still actively working
We can even be a reporter later
We can't say we have a short career since if we work hard
We are in an environment of being able to work until we want
It depends on their ability
Do you need to work only five minutes a day?
This is so wrong
It's totally unfair
Our time on the screen is about a minute or so
Isn't she making a living too easily? (You may think, but …)
It's not like that
We prepare a lot
The most important thing is … the script
We writes articles by ourselves
I have to write scripts, get my make-up, check my clothes, and memorize scripts
We personally request various CG's
I think we need to be prepared beforehand
Please remember, It takes much more than 5 minutes
Especially the workers who come in at dawn, they go to work at 3 AM
And since there are more than one broadcast,
we prepare for the next broadcast right after this
We have radio appearances, or we can have other live broadcasts
I can't take the holidays off
In 365 days, we have to go to work every week days
We only take a day off every week because we work 6 days a week
(But) They say it would be good after marriage
Ah, on holidays…
Working at the company is better on holidays …
Should I be pretty?
I'd better put it back in the capsule ..
Well, since we are on screen
We do a camera test when we are interviewed
I think images are important
You can give people good Impression
And if you can give people good weather information,
I don't think anything's wrong with it
I think it's important to have your own character
Because there are so many pretty people
I think it's better to give the viewers a good feeling
How do you feel when you see a bad comment about your appearance?
Even athletes get attention when they're pretty, and that's a lot of times
I think our society is getting too used to the things that are shown and thinks it's okay to evaluate those things
On portal sites like Naver and Daum
Community? There was a picture of myself on these sites
Just thinking of the things that are almost close to criticism makes me shed tears
You're so fat. Lose some weight. You have a swollen face
And when I lose my weight, some people say I lost too much weight or ask if I'm sick
I started because I loved it
Do I have to hear assessments like these
I think it was frustrating and depressing by these things
Do you have any trick on handling a broadcasting accident?
There's so much to say about this
It's live, so when the camera suddenly turns
we may black out
sometimes we can't remember anything
Normally when you're out, a lot of emergencies happen
If we hear some wrong noise from our inear earphones
or get the wrong information
We really get surprised
but we can't show that in front of the camera
I once got so surprised during a live broadcast
and said, "Oops!"
It became silent for about 3 seconds and I said, "It will generally be cold on a nation scale" like nothing happened
and just got over it
I once broadcasted a citizen's interview live
I gave them the mic like this and brought it back to say my lines
but one citizen kept trying to take my mic
I couldn't let go of it, so there was a bit of a strange tension
that scene went out
and it kind of out viral and became known as the "mic battle"
the trick to handling a broadcasting accident is shamelessness
acting naturally as possible and thinking that I'm the only one who knows I got it wrong
pretending like nothing happened and saying whatever pops up into my mind
and when we go to the scene we check the site in advance
so that we can think of situations beforehand to manage whenever something happens
How come there aren't any male forecasters?
Since a lot of female forecasters appear on broadcasting
I think there are people who think that only women can be forecasters
but the first forecaster was a man
We can't see them very often nowadays but there are male forecasters
YTN has them and OBS, too
We put out notices about hiring together, but there aren't really many male applicants
men can apply too
You are welcome
Have you watched Mr. Cho Se-ho's weather report?
I was there
our broadcast was buried
Because he showed me how cold it
I highly evaluate
Cho Se-ho is good at remembering the temperature
Everything goes as an adrip without a script
Like a pro broadcaster
I could related to him when he covered his ears with his hands
And the subtitles!
' This is the way of the weather forecaster'
By his report, many people found out how hard we work
They said that a lot
Thank you
One last word?
I was so happy to tell you a little bit more about the job of weather caster
I hope that your misunderstanding has been cleared up
Studio V interviewing a weather caster itself
I felt that people had a lot of interest in us
We are evaluated by our looks, but we're trying really hard
Even when we are writing a script ' How can we say it better? Or should I add more'
And if you could see our meticulous efforts
All the crew, lights, camera directors
For this short program, not only is it external, And if you realize that there's really a lot of work going on behind that,
What we're doing from now on
I'd like you to see what kind of work we do
Even the weather information, not just us
To provide more accurate and faster weather information
We will try harder
