hello people here going and have a look at these beautiful coins and this is the
third series in the last drachma issued by the Greek government and there is
another series after this but it overlaps okay so you we have the 50 left
are you 1 2 5 10 20 50 drachma now there is a 10 and 20 left ha that was issued
into 1978 these 50 left are the 20 drachma issued
a 976 like as you can see from the date here and the 50 was issued in 1918 okay
then this coin was iCIJ in 1978 these ones were resized in 1986 and these 2 5
and 10 were issued into 2000 and any stopped circulating when euro was
introduced this one was replaced in 1990 and this one was replaced in 1986 or
smaller coins because the Greek drachma since 1954 have reduced in value and I
believe it's about 200 Dreckman to Australian dollar in about 2000 so on
this one we would covet I'm not too sure what ship that is but
it's probably probably an Athenian ship used in 1821 during the War of
Independence over Greece from the Ottoman Empire okay here we have had two
guns there's some muskets looks like a olive leaf use that that bag he owns the
powder that you that's we kept the powder gum piada
so these would have been a weapon used in during the War of Independence
fathers nothing d-10 has the atom so it has been nucleus with
the proton and neutron and electrons going around the 20 has the part on
which is on the Acropolis in Athens and the 15 just as waves I'm not too sure
what that represents and also you have a patent down the bottom here which is
also on a lot of Greek pottery or so I'm a lot of Greek gradings stuff like that
so this is the traditional Greek key design they're also these ones in the
nickel brass and the rest acaba nickel okay so from this series on including
the euro the Greeks have ever put images of
ancient statesmen as you can see with the copper nickel coins or those who are
associated with the war independence of Greece okay so on the fifty laptop we
have my course post status he was a leader in the war of independence only
one we have Constantine cannabis he was a blue thread father during the war of
independence and a politician later in life on D 2 we have Jojo
karai's carcass who is also here in work independence and now we get on to the
people from the Classical period so on the five we have Aristotle and he was a
philosopher he was a student of Plato who Plato is he was also
of Socrates and if you don't know about Socrates he was ordered to commit
suicide by the Athenian government also also talked about this guy he was also
the teacher to Alexander the Great everyone knows who Alexander the gravy's
and he's on a future corner I was shown in another video so on the 10 we have
Democritus who was a philosopher and he adopted the atomic theory that's why the
atom is on the other side and this one is Pericles also I should mention now is
that the names in Greek on all the coins okay Pericles was a Athenian statesman
and also a general that's why he's got the current hat on Nene from 495 429 BC
and he was one of the major figures in the early period of the Peloponnesian
wars which pitted Athens and irrelevant against Sparta and alloys and a few of
it powers like Argos and Corinth generally didn't take partner and our
middle brief and both sides tried to get them on this side okay now on the 50
this one here has soul on relief 638 to where 658 as far as we know and he was
opinion lawmaker and he's credited with um introducing democracy into Athens he
was also a poet in his spare time and poetry back then had as well as plays
had a lot of social weight so you could ever become a great person famous or be
scorned on depend Starly right and what you wrote about
and so long use his poetry for its own advancement of his own ideas and also
for enjoyment so here I have the side so on the nickel brass coins they are
milled the five-and-ten drachma have and 50 drachma just plain name milling no
let him in there 20 drachma has Elena ki Tomas Katya so do Greek democracy which
I Greeks quite proud of their history especially their ancient classic
classical history so these coins were used between 9 and 76 and roughly 1986
the 5 and 10 drachma continued to be used to to thousands and the rest will
replace the waiver drop data usage so I hope you like these coins I quite do
you're beautiful a pretty sight thing because I like ancient Greece history
what I like to leave there don't there's no internet no modern healthcare no cars
no Road Transport and numismatics would have been a bit hard to actually get
into because the number of coins would have been reduced it would have been
there being that fun fun fun ok let me know what you like about these
coins down below or dislike about these coins if you like these coins give it a
thumbs up if you don't like these coins give it a thumbs down and please
subscribe to my channel thank you bye bye
