Hello, everyone. Welcome to K-MOOC lecture.
My name is Ikjoo Lee, professor of Korean History at the University of Seoul. I am your lecturer in [Historical Heritages of Goryeo].
By the way, how much do you know about Goryeo?
It may be unfamiliar to even those who have confidence in their knowledge about our history.
Goryeo Dynasty lasted for 475 years, from the 10th century to the 14th century, more explicitly from 918 to 1392 in our long history.
I have made an expression with ten letters to describe Goryeo. I have four key words as following.
First, a country established by provincial people.
Second, a country with flourished noble culture.
Third, a country where Buddhism and Confucianism co-existed.
Forth, a country which interacted with wide outside world.
Maybe I have to add one more.
That is, a country we don't know much.
Would you agree?
But surprisingly, many parts of our culture we enjoy today came from Goryeo.
Here is an example.
When somebody asks, "where is your Bon-gwan?"
Then, you would answer either "some family name of somewhere" or "some family of somewhere."
"Lee of Jeonju," like this.
Where did Bon-gwan come from in our history, then?
It was derived when Goryeo Dynasty made negotiations with local powers.
And this functioned as an important principle of ruling in the 200 years of early Goryeo.
Knowledge of Bon-gwan in Goryeo society would give different depth in understandings of today's Bon-gwan from when without it.
So, learning about heritages of Goryeo whose influences last until today is the overall goal of this course.
I will tell you the purposes of this course.
First, you are expected to explain the historical characteristics of Goryeo.
You should have fundamental understandings of Goryeo, right?
Second, you will learn the influences of the historical heritages of Goryeo on modern society,
because there are many cases other than Bon-gwan system.
Third, we will think about applying historical experiences of Goryeo to some pertinent issues we face nowadays.
For instance, understandings of Goryeo women's lives can help alleviate gender inequality today.
This course is a 8-week course, with 3 hours per week.
The following is the organization of this course.
First, we will look for images of Goryeo, what kind of country it was.
Second, we will learn about 'Goryeo Empire'.
Goryeo enjoyed a position of empire in the East Asian order in its early stage, from the 10th century to the 12th century. And its kings were called emperors.
And we will learn about the lives of Goryeo women.
They were quite different from those in Joseon Dynasty, rather being more assertive.
Then I will explain about Buddhist art and pottery which have had significant influences until now.
At last, we will review the historical meaning of Goryeo Dynasty in the process of revolution and destruction followed by establishment of Joseon.
The evaluation of your final grade will consider quizzes(40%), discussion(40%), and some other interactions(20%).
You can pass this course with final grade above 60 out of 100.
This course is meant to understand the influences of Goryeo's heritages on today, based on its historical characteristics,
and explore possible solutions to current issues out of historical experiences.
So you will learn what heritages there are with comprehensive understandings of their historical contexts
and contemplate how to utilize them.
One core factor of this course is interactions between students such as discussions.
Considering that, I encourage you to make active participations.
For inquiries on K-MOOC, please visit the website of the National Institute for Lifelong Education or refer to the Youtube files uploaded.
Through this course, I want you to obtain deep knowledge about historical heritages of Goryeo with systematic and comprehensive understandings in the historical context all together.
I hope this lecture series would be meaningful and enjoyable to you all. Then, I will see you again in the lecture.

Learn English Phrases: 10 Things You'll Hear on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday - Duration: 9:54.
- Hello, this is Jack from to fluency.com
and in this English lesson,
I'm going to go over 10 phrases,
or 10 things that you'll likely hear
on Thanksgiving Day and on Black Friday.
Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays
here in America, and it is celebrated
on the fourth Thursday in November.
It's a holiday that you do your best
to spend time with family, you have a nice dinner
and everything is peaceful.
Black Friday, on the other hand,
is all about shopping.
And this is when, most stores or all stores,
offer discounts and deals on certain items.
And people go out, and try to find the best deal
on whatever they want to get.
If you want to learn more
about this holiday and Black Friday,
I'll leave a link to wikipedia in the description,
but let's look at phrase number one.
(music)
Imagine that you're in the kitchen
and somebody takes the turkey out of the oven.
You can say, that looks delicious.
That looks delicious.
What you're doing is using the word 'look'
to describe appearance.
You could also say, that looks amazing,
that looks awesome.
We can talk about people's appearance too,
using this verb.
For example, she looks tired.
He looks happy.
She looks like Katy Perry.
He looks like George Clooney.
Going back to food, let's say the brussel sprouts
come out and they're black,
because somebody left them in the oven too long.
You can say, they don't look very good.
The second thing you'll probably hear on Thanksgiving Day is
what time does the game start?
What time does the game start?
We're talking about American football here,
because there is always a game on Thanksgiving Day.
I don't know too much about American football,
but I know this is important on Thanksgiving.
But do you notice, the way I ask this question.
What time does the game start?
Now, which tense is that?
It is, the present simple, because we use the present simple
to talk about events in the future,
something that is on a schedule.
Again, I've made a lesson on this.
I'll leave a link in the description.
But you can ask the question, what time does the game start?
Another question you might ask on Thanksgiving Day
is, how long will this take?
How long will this take?
We're talking about food again
and what we're asking is,
how long will this take to cook?
So let's say you have a turkey.
You know it should go in at a certain temperature.
I don't know what that is.
But, you know the temperature,
but you don't know how long it's going to take to cook.
So you ask your friends, your family member,
how long is this going to take to cook?
We can use 'will' or 'going to' here.
How long will this take?
How long is this going to take?
Another example of using the verb 'take' in this case is,
it takes me 10 minutes to get to work.
It takes me 10 minutes to get to work.
Okay, now the turkey is in the oven,
But, you didn't set a timer.
You didn't set a timer.
And, you take the turkey out.
It doesn't look very good.
And you say, oh no, I left the turkey in too long.
I left the turkey in too long.
We use this phrase of verb, 'leave in'
for many different things.
For example, don't leave that bottle of beer
in the freezer too long.
Don't leave that bottle of beer in the freezer too long.
Otherwise, it might explode.
Another example is, uggh, I left my keys in the car.
I left my keys in the car.
Even though we left the turkey in the oven too long,
it's still edible.
But before we eat it,
somebody usually asks the question,
what are you thankful for?
What are you thankful for?
And this is a big part of Thanksgiving.
It's to give thanks, to talk about what you are grateful for
And it doesn't always happen around the table,
in a formal way, but usually somebody talks about this.
And I have been to Thanksgiving dinners before
where everybody said what they were thankful for.
It's a good time to ask you a question,
what are you thankful for?
What are you thankful for?
So after you have said what you are thankful for,
you are sitting down at the table,
and you're eating turkey, but it's a little bit dry
because you left it in the oven too long.
So you want more gravy,
and the way to ask somebody for the gravy is this,
could you pass me the gravy please?
Could you pass me the gravy, please?
Sometimes, people don't say please at the end,
but they do say, thank you,
once somebody passes the gravy to them.
We can also exchange 'could' for 'can' and say this,
can you pass me the gravy, please?
I ask this question a lot, because
I love gravy.
(music)
Okay, so you have your dinner.
You have eaten too much.
You go to bed.
And then the next day is Black Friday.
What you might hear is this,
Have you seen the line at Walmart?
Or have you seen the line at Best Buy?
Walmart and Best Buy are both popular shops
to go to on Black Friday,
because usually they have a lot of deals.
And by asking that question, have you seen the line
at Best Buy, what you're saying is,
there are so many people lining up to get into Best Buy.
In British English, we'll use the word queue here.
Have you seen the queue at Best Buy?
Or, there are a lot of people queuing up.
And I'm sure you've seen one of those videos where,
a shop opens its doors on Black Friday
and people rush in to get the best deals.
Speaking of getting best deals,
I've mentioned this a couple of times,
and you'll hear people say, I just got a great deal on,
this new TV.
I just got a great deal on this new microwave.
To get a good deal on something means
that you get it for a good price.
You get it on sale.
And Americans will say, I just got a great deal.
British people say, I've just got a great deal.
I made a video on this difference
which you can watch.
There's a link in the description.
If somebody buys something that they regret,
they will say, oh, I shouldn't have bought that.
I shouldn't have bought that.
Using 'shouldn't have' in the past
is a great way to express a regret.
So what you're saying is,
I didn't need that, I don't want this now.
I shouldn't have bought that.
There are many things that I regret buying.
And I use this all the time.
I shouldn't have bought that.
But another example is this.
Imagine that, you say something,
that isn't very nice.
You can say, sorry, I shouldn't have said that.
I shouldn't have said that.
For people who don't want to line up
who don't want to go outside,
what they tend to do, is,
they do their shopping online.
So you'll hear them say,
I'm doing all my shopping online this year.
I'm doing all my shopping online this year.
This has become more popular now.
And there's a day, which is Cyber Monday,
that focuses on online deals.
But you'll find Black Friday also has
lots of deals online too.
So a lot of people prefer to do their shopping online.
The last one is this.
Imagine that I see my wife
on her computer, because she does her shopping online.
And she's buying something else.
And I ask her the question,
what are you buying now?
What are you buying now?
By adding 'now', at the end of the question,
it suggests that my wife has been buying a lot of things.
And I'm surprised that she's buying something else,
or maybe not surprised.
So I ask her the question, what are you buying now?
My dad used to say something similar to me,
which was, what are you eating now?
And this was usually on a Friday night,
when I used to watch wrestling,
and eat packets of crisps, yogurt, cereal, so much stuff.
And when I went into the kitchen to get something else,
he asked me the question, what are you eating now?
Okay, so we have covered a lot in this lesson.
And I have taught many of the phrases
in different videos before.
So, be sure to check out the description
or click on your screen
to watch one of these videos.
If you have enjoyed this,
then please like and share it.
Thank you for being here.
And I will speak to you soon.
Bye-bye.
(music)
I love gravy.

【MUKBANG】 [KFC] 30 Pieces Of THE NEW Limited Red Hot Chicken! [8141kcal] [CC Available] - Duration: 8:11.
Hello its Kinoshita Yuka (English subs by ~Aphexx~)
so today! tadaa I bought 30 of these limited release red hot chicken
usually I'm always buying some colonel's original along with these limited ones
but to make things simple I bought ONLY red hots today
this appears to be only available during this winter red hot sauce. you receive 1 packet per piece of chicken
and since I picked up 30 chicken
I gots all the hot sauces dang that brings a smile to my face
I kind of prefer these red hots over the originals
and since these are here for only a short time I've gotta get my fill of these red hots
itadakimasu
cola is perfect with chicken
I'll start things off by eating this on its own
its my favorite piece of the chicken the skin is so crispy and the meat is so juicy
the spicy ones are yummy but its not that I like it for the spice but because its so darn crunchy
just biting into it releases so much of the chicken juices ~ I just can't get enough of it `
and I'll wash down those chicken juices with this cola
HEAVENLY
and now I'll try it using this red hot sauce
without the sauce its already sort of spicy so I wonder how much hotter it will make it
so this is what it looks like
it looks like a thickened version of tabasco and it looks so spicy
I totally thought the sauce would be a bit thinner
hot pretty hot
a very chili heavy sauce its very hot but it has a nice amount of flavor
with a hint of garlic
hot habanero like
its the type of heat that still burns your mouth and lips after eating
for people who are really into spicy foods this red hot chicken won't be that spicy for you guys
but with this sauce even those spice lovers might just be satisfied with this chicken and sauce
as for me, I enjoy the flavors even without the sauce but I kind of like to experience the spice every once in a while
so 15 here and 15 here totaling 30
lately they've been adding this cut of chicken
its almost like a eating chicken wings
and to change things up I'll try another with sauce
spicy
but its not a 1 dimensional spice its got plenty of garlic and habanero flavors.... so yummy
because its so spicy I'm going through a lot of cola
I just noticed that the color of the chicken and what I'm wearing today are so similar
wearing chicken colored clothes and eating 30 chickens would make the the spirit/embodiment of chicken
ever since I was a little kid I always dreamed of becoming one
15 remain
they've cooled a bit and are so crunchy
so I know I've said that I bought ONLY red hot chickens today
but... I also picked up some red hot shrimps
and why did I keep this a secret from you guys? ~I won't say~
and this shrimp also comes with some red hot sauce
K, its covered with these thin crunchy flakes
so crispy its filled with minced up shrimp and so yummy
its nice to take a break from eating something fried with this fried thing
these have gotten pretty cold so I'm going to go warm them up
chicken is yummiest when warm
only 5 remain I'm really starting to dig this sauce
last one itadakimasu
last mouthful itadakimasu
~there wasn't much left on it~
all done gochisosamadeshita
KFC's red hot chicken was so yummy
I've got a bunch of these sauces left over but they were very yummy as well
when you put this over the chicken it really made it so you couldn't get enough of it
I only had 1 red hot shrimp but that was very yummy as well
when you eat spicy things it makes your mouth and lips burn but after a bit you just can't get enough of it
and to wash all that grease down cola is the best stuff
it was all so yummy won't you all please give it a try?
and as always thanks for watching and if there is anything you want me to do or eat please tell me in the comment section if you liked this video please hit the like and subscribe buttons BAI BAI

THE SINGER2017 Dimash 《Give Me Love》 blind commentary - Duration: 12:38.
what is up everybody my name is Billy and it is time for another video in today's
video I'm going to be watching a performance by dimash in this
performance he'll be seeing a song called give me love which is a song
title that I am not familiar with so I don't really know this song but yeah a
lot of you wanted me to see this so yeah I'll be happy to for any of you guys who
may ask why I'm doing so many performances on my channel the main
reason is I really like watching performances another reason is that
these videos are very highly requested from you guys and you guys really like
them a lot so this is why I'm doing more performances than I do if any other
videos like YTP they don't really get a lot of views I don't really know
if people really like them cuz I don't get much feedback from them I think for
now on I'm gonna go for videos that are more highly requested like it serve just
one person requesting a video I think I'm gonna go for like say eight people
request one video and one person request for another video I think I'm gonna
guard for the one with the most votes and that doesn't mean I'm not gonna be
watching YTP or other videos that other people request of me I'll still do
a video if one person still wants me to watch a video I will see it like I care
about all you guys and I want everyone to be happy but in future I think I'm
gonna go for videos that go for the most votes but if I don't get many requests
for videos I will just pick one on my own
and that's just how I'm gonna work I don't want to sound like I don't care
about you guys who do the request like a video and it's just one of you I don't
want to sound like I don't care about you because I do um but I'm not the type of
person who is really big on the whole like like and subscribe type of type of
thing me I'm grateful for whatever I get on this channel because you know what
when I started this channel I didn't think I was gonna go anywhere like I
thought I was just gonna go downhill and that was just how it was gonna go so I'm
very shocked that I have come this far and I thank you guys for that but yeah
anyway guys I just want to talk about that so you guys
know how I feel and all that type stuff anyway back to to dimash the last performance
of dimash was really great I did like it a lot
some of you guys told me that his mic wasn't really working so yeah that's
probably why he was a bit quiet on some parts and that performance that we
didn't get that full strength of his voice but that is okay I still liked his
performance anyway I think you did a great job all out and yeah anyway you
guys probably skipped all this because some of you like to skip to the
performance part and yeah I might as well just be talking to a wall at this
point but yeah I just want to thank you guys for all the positive feedback that
you guys have been giving me I really do appreciate it it makes me feel good that
I can make some of you guys happy and you guys do like my videos I'm a person
who has a lot of doubting issues I doubt myself a lot and to get a like really
means a lot to me sir I do thank you guys for the kindness that you guys have
been giving me so yeah I think I've done enough talking
I original ink will be no description below and I think we should just get
into the video so if no further ado let's get into it alright let's get into
this in three two one play
oh oh that sounds lovely
as always
give me love okay here we go people Oh
Oh
golden
yes
Oh God
this is beautiful I feel it
oh Dimash
oh how I love you
damn
oh my god
it's getting me emotional people
you gotta stop you gotta stop I'm going to cry
this is so sad oh my god this is so sad
I feel it
it's beautiful
just take me down Oh those violins 👌
oh my god no people crying I feel it
I wasn't ready
such power
it's beautiful
oh my god
??????
my heart
I can't take it
oh my god
oh my god yes Oh Oh it ended no okay okay
whoa funny yeah get myself together oh my goodness no one told me that was
gonna be emotional oh my goodness I tissues people I need God my eyes are
so watery um Wow my goodness that was beautiful I can't
even speak people dimash gave his emotions to us that was a sad song like
I didn't need to know the words to know that that was a sad song
I'm guessing it's about someone losing someone that they love I'm only guessing
but yeah I felt that I fell in love with dimashes performance in this video
Oh he puts so much emotion in it and gosh everyone was crying like me even I
was tearing up but I didn't think I would get emotional but I did yeah and
that's how strong dimash is vocals are they're so powerful they can give you
that emotion and it's it's beautiful it's so good to hear him again like like
just him on his arm singing because the last video I watched he was with someone
else singing which was awesome but it's good to hear just him I'm going solo
because he's just he's a one-man army when it comes to singing like is the
full package and I love it I don't know if this is the last performance of
dimash I'm not quite sure if it is I am quite sad because I really
love dimash I've grown to love him over time and I want to see more performances
from him because he sounds so wonderful and yeah he he took my heart in this
performance like you guys probably know I'm a very sensitive person I'm not good
with the whole motional side of things I'm very I'm I get easily taken
when it comes to stuff that is sweet but it doesn't matter
I like the feelings that the mash gives me I like to get that emotion and it's
it's good to feel that way sometimes we get a stressful day and it's good to
watch something like dimashes performances and it just gives you that
emotional touch that you need in your life like me I live a very stressful
life I've got a lot going on my family in that it's why I don't upload quite
often because I am quite busy and life can be rather stressful and it's good to
watch performances like this and also other performances like I love music
music certainly calms the soul in my opinion anyway it's very different for
everyone when it comes to music but it calms the soul for me it just makes me
feel bliss happiness I feel great after I watch something like this and yeah I
love the emotional rollercoaster dimash puts me through it's just it's it's a
breath of fresh air in in my way of saying it I don't know how to say but
yer I also like the different instruments in dimashes performances I
love the guitar and pianos and all those kinds of instruments like they make it
sound so good as well like dimash will sound great with just him but mash that
with the instruments it's like gold at its best and I love that I'm kind of sad
that this video is over I liked watching this performance a lot like it was so
captivating just listening to his voice like if you really like close your eyes
and just listen it's just it takes you away to another world another place a
place where there is no stress but yeah I don't know where I'm going with that
but that's just me I I feel that way every time I listen to dimash but yeah
I hope you guys enjoyed this video as much as I did feel free to leave a like
if you enjoyed and I hope you will have a wonderful fantastic day and my name is
Billy and Billy is now out take care guys

(WINTER SPECIAL) Get glossy hair, silky shiny, straight hair at home/INDIANGIRLCHANNEL TRISHA - Duration: 3:49.
INDIANGIRLCHANNEL TRISHA
In today's video I will share with you an awesome hair mask which will require only 3 ingredients.
For a few days many of my viewers were telling me that their hair is getting dry and damaged
so I should share with them a few hair mask recipe which will make their hair silky, smooth and frizz free.
This is an awesome hair mask because before applying it my hair was looking dry and damaged
and after applying it my hair became more manageable. So I feel you guys will like this hair mask very much.
So without wasting time let's see how to make this hair mask and how to apply it
For making this mask first of all I am taking 200mg of curd.
Then I am using a Muslin cloth to strain out the excess water from the curd
Curd has a lot of protein which will provide a lot of nourishment to our hair and will make it healthy.
Curd also has lactic acid which removes dead skin cells from our scalp
which will help in reducing dandruffs as well.
We have strained the curd so that the excess water can be removed,
which will make the curd a lot thicker in density
The hair pack which will be made from it will also be thick and consistent
and will be easy while applying to our hair without causing a mess
After this we need Mayonnaise.
I am adding 3 tablespoon of Mayonnaise to the curd.
You can easily get Mayonnaise in any departmental store
Now thoroughly mix the Mayonnaise with the curd
Mayonnaise has amino acids and fatty acids in ample quantities,
which deeply nourishes your hair,
also it helps to fight dandruff
and also nourishes your split ends.
After this we need a Beetroot.
Thoroughly grate the beetroot and take out its juice
After this add Beetroot juice
to the mixture and mix the 3 ingredients properly.
Add at least 2-3 teaspoon of beetroot juice to it
and mix the ingredients
Now divide your hair in 2 parts
and apply this pink looking hair mask to all of your hair from root to tip.
Beetroot has carotenoids,
which boosts the blood circulation in our scalp.
It also nourishes our hair follicles which boosts hair growth
Beetroot provides a lot of important nutrients which prevents hair loss,
it has Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Iron, Potassium and Manganese
After applying leave the hair mask for 45 mins to 60 mins
and after that use shampoo to wash your hair properly
You can see
how my hair is now looking more shinny,
smooth and manageable than before.

How To Find Somewhere To Live in London | #Spon - Duration: 15:10.
hello and welcome to British English with Joel and Lia today's video is all
about finding a place to live in London
so this video has kindly been sponsored
by Homie who are a company that will help you find the perfect place to live
in London and at a really reasonable price so we'll talk a little bit more
about them within the video but first off we're going to talk about how
difficult it was to find a place to live in London.
Our own experiences we've both
moved multiple times not just when we first moved to London but multiple times
since then and, about six times i've moved!
yeah I think mines similar as well
thats mental
and it's so exciting I like the build
up of being like oh I'm planning on moving house in six months I better
start looking but as soon as you've started looking I hate it it's so much pressure
it's the worst thing because it's like you have to put your life on hold just to find
looking for a place oh definitely and there's certain times of year as well have
you found this where moving is okay where moving is bad like if you move
around September that's really hard to find somewhere because all of the new
students from universities are looking for houses as well or flats and like
you've got to just time your move because some times are busier than others
and just thinking about all these things is just not something you want to
stress about when you've got probably your own job and other stuff going on
and a YouTube channel to be running and yeah so basically when you're looking
for a place in London if you don't know where to start
someone might tell you well you have to get online you need to go on Zoopla or
you need to go on Rightmove and you have to scroll for hours and hours and hours
and hours and hours the amount of nights I went to bed at like 3 / 4 a.m. because
it's just gone I've spent so long on the website I'm not found anywhere or just
seeing the same places over and over again so once you've found a couple of
places after looking for hours and hours you have to then get on the phone to
estate agents and that's one of my least favorite things is giving out my email
address or phone number to loads of different estate agents everywhere
want all of your details yes so thats a nightmare
I normally refuse and I think you guys should do
this as well because it's a handy little tip don't give (well unless you're
desperate) I guess it's diffrerent for different people but I never give
out my phone number to estate agents I only give them my email address so
they'll respond being like give me your phone number please and I'll give you a call
and I just say no sorry I prefer I prefer to communicate via email
because I'm not being called 24/7 by these estate agents
I'm like
If you've got a house to show me just email it to me
you don't give out your phone number completely understand that so not many
people have had good experiences with estate agents it's not a cliche it's
true it is
I'm sorry to say this if there's any estate agents watching but I
really don't like them not personally I'm sure they're nice people at home but
they always have an agenda estate agents aren't unbiased people they want to sell
you like even if it's just to rent they want to sell you a property and get your
money and they earn money from you spending your money
exactly so once you've found a place you then have to deal with all of
the admin and lots of contracts and estate agent fees and all sorts of
horrible things and essentially by the time you've moved in you've probably
fallen out with all of your flatmates and gained about ten gray hairs
yeah not even joking and also if you're not even from London
then all of this is like completely foreign and you you don't even know
where to begin the amount of horror stories there are and I think most of it
is people not from this country coming over to live and getting scammed because
how are you supposed to know?
so instead of doing all of that yourself and all of
that admin all of that stress in the estate agents and lalalala we just wish
we knew about a company like Homie before moving house because what they do
is incredible they they charge you a flat rate of 88 pounds but they sort out
all of your viewings all in one day in two hours and they even arrange a black
cab to take you from one viewing to the next honestly the best thing I've ever
heard of!
like I'm definitely gonna use them next time I move house because like
for all the reasons we've said the negatives about looking for a house in
London they kind of solve all of those issues because they're the ones dealing
with the estate agents so once you've signed up to Homie
you'll be assigned a personal home finder which they call a Homie and they
will trawl through all of the things that you've given them so I want a two
bed flat wooden floors maybe a fireplace would be a nice bonus but definitely a
garden needs to be near Embankment station or needs to be near Bermondsey!
you give them all that info they'll find all the properties and that suit that
description and send it to you and you'll go through and pick the ones that
you like send it back to them and they'll book all the viewings they'll
deal with the nasty estate agents they'll tell you what all the contracts
mean what the price is and they'll take you on a tour of the houses in a black
cab and they will keep it within your budget so if your budget is I know my
budget I think when I was moving out last time I said I don't want to spend more
than six hundred pounds a month yeah and my flatmates had similar budgets so I was
like that was the maximum so Homie will work within your budget
and I just see it's amazing that you know rather than sitting online
finding somewhere then calling up and then the estate agent being like oh no
that place went a week ago we just haven't taken off the website yet just
all of this stress could so easily be eliminated by handing it all your brief
to a Homie who will do it all for you I just think they're incredible and you
could think that 88 pounds is quite expensive but when you think about
you're essentially getting like a celebrity service thats what I thought of it as like!
obviously when celebrities move house and things they won't deal with anything
they'll just get their personal assistant to sort everything for them
it's like having your own personal assistant so good and also the fact
that you can do it unlimited amount of times it's great so if you don't find a
house on the first round of viewings you just keep the process going until you've
found somewhere and you're not charged any extra money and they have like
a really high success rate they usually say that after the first time or the
second time people have found something that they're happy with and they go
ahead which is great and if you think about it how expensive cabs are just to
get from here to there yeah definitely I think the fact that the cab will take
you from one viewing to the next and wait for you yes that's incredible really
since we've been chatting to Homie I must have told about 10 people
yeah family family friends about it and they've already got a ton of questions for
me so I've had to actually direct them to Homie website
questions I can't actually answer I told
my parents about Homie and they were like oh so it's basically like Kirsty and Phil
you know because Kirsty and Phil have the program here in the UK and they go and
find people houses and it's basically that!
So if there's anyone called Kirsty that works at Homie!
I just can't wait to use them
because I just think
I just think I can't wait to move house
literally i've been telling my flatmates cause I wanna use Homie!
I just think it makes it so much easier and they are
completely unbiased I don't know if we've already said that but that's what
I like the fact that estate agents have an agenda which is to sell you that
property and they might lie about a property the condition of it just to get
you to sign the paperwork whereas having a third party they're like Homie
completely unbiased they can be like actually you know what I don't think
this is a good deal for you even though it's a really nice house is just not a good
deal so let's go and find another one yeah that's I think that honesty
is really important it is really important also have you ever thought
about safety when viewing homes you're thinking I'm meeting a random person who I've
spoken to on the phone hey they might not even be an estate agent and we're gonna
be going into this house I'm alone my flatmates couldn't make it at least with Homie
would homie they're there with you in the cab they come to the viewings with
you yeah let's just remember from a safety point of view as well like going to view
a flat at 6 p.m. in the winter and it's pitch-black outside and you're meeting a
stranger I don't know I just another thing to think about
but also just
reminded me if you can't make the viewing if you're from abroad and you
just can't get to the country to view the houses your Homie will go for you
and record all of the properties and then send you all of the videos so you
don't even have to be here to use Homie they can do it for you but
obviously it's nice to see it in person yeah like I think the video thing's
really great if you're doing like say a couple of you are viewing it there's
some more housemates who don't live in the UK yeah but they really want to see
it they need to see what their rooms are gonna look like
it's so 21st century its so 2017
you guys know that we would never recommend any brand
to you regardless of whether we've been sponsored or not if we didn't genuinely
believe in it and like we are as you can see quite excited about it!
we asked them if we could work with them!
that's how excited we were
so on another note I find it really
daunting the fact that people live with strangers like in London because I know
that's a common thing if you don't have a community in London of course you have
to move in with strangers but I've always lived with friends I've never
lived with strangers yeah I find that a bit scary I've done it both ways so I've
lived with school mates friends boyfriends and then the place I'm living
now I live with complete strangers well what used to be complete strangers but
we've sort of started our own friendships now and like me and my
housemate Emma we'll go to the pub and well you know there is half-price food
every Tuesday at our local and you know we just sort of have like this no steaks
friendship it's like we don't expect anything from each other at all like
there's no pressure to like be in the house or buy someone a birthday thing or
like you know there's just no pressure which I love yeah and no one's up in my
business and you know I've got Joel around all the time here filming and
stuff no one's like who is this person in our house? it's so yeah
it's kind of great yeah I love it
I forget that you live with strangers because they're your friends now
yes weird yeah it's just odd because lots of people I've heard people that
have moved here saying the same things
i'm just too scared to live with
strangers yeah but she's not that scary when you think about it but you've done
it yeah and they become like friends after a while
it was really funny
so moving in here I kind of had to like audition so I found it online and then
I turned up I got shortlisted by the way from like hundreds of hundreds and
hundreds of people who wanted this amazingly big room you can't tell from
this shot right now but this room is very big for a London bedroom
you cannot find a bedroom in London this big
I dunno maybe Homie can!
London this big anymore for the amount of rent that I pay is really small
anyway so I got shortlisted and then I had to come to my first meeting and I
turn up and there's like other people leaving and stuff and I'm like oh my god
anyway then I got a phone call like oh we've got other housemates that would
love to meet you can you come back and do a second meeting! so i'm thinking this is
harder than getting an acting job yeah so harder than landing a commercial so I
come to the the second meeting no joke there's a girl who looks exactly like me
leaving the building I'm like this is too much like so I come in and I'm so
nervous and I'm just like I can't believe I'm nervous about house share this
is what London has become
and yeah and then I was with you we were having
Nando's and you were thinking about like another property came available for a
guardianship which is another video we'll make something about that
being a Guardian in an abandoned building in London
so for cheaper than this I could have been a Guardian and you were just
about you were just about to be like maybe I should reply to them and say I'm gonna come and visit the
guardianship and yeah I got the phone call saying you got you got the job
you got the room its yours
Lia cried she was like thank you so much
finally when you somewhere in London you're just like oh my gosh
and then and then the stress begins again when you when you realise after
six months you wanna move again yeah definitely I mean why is it we like
moving all the time I don't think I've stayed anywhere
for longer than a year and a half
but I think it's difficult because obviously
London prices are very expensive it pushes you further out yeah and you just start to
you get very particular like oh this is great like the money is good
like amount I pay, but the room is slightly too small or I don't like a person that
I live with or or it might be the other way around you're like I love it there's
just too much money and there's so many variables yeah but I guess that makes
you want to move on
mostly money money is the only thing that can get you down in London
it's like your bank balance is close to zero all the time all the time don't
they say London is like the happiest place for you to live if
money is no object or something it's something like something like that I
quote like that yeah I mean I can't imagine me living anywhere else right
now at this point in my life no me neither
maybe Brighton maybe but I just think I'd get bored it's a little bit of a
a little bit boring I think I've contemplated like moving to other
places like Brighton or Bristol whatever but I don't have any friends there and
that's what scares me I'm like
you can't just think oh
just meet up with my friend today because you're like I don't actually have any friends yet
I always just calculate how far away it would be for me to get home home in an
emergency yeah how long it would take me to get to the Midlands yeah
friends I always just think I'll see them! i'll make them
I'll just whip up some friends
I can't imagine myself living anywhere but London right now
it makes me so happy living here being so close to everything yeah
it's a great place to live and I think it is I mean I haven't visited every
city in the world but I've heard it's the best city in the world yeah
London is the capital of the world
London has the most amount of billionaires that live here in the world
so you'd assume that if you have a billion pounds you kind of know what's
good yeah
I know whats good
so guys if you are looking for somewhere to live in London we hope that
it's going well and check out Homie their links are in our description they're
really really cool personable brand lovely people and so check them out and
that's know in the comments if you have any success yeah we'd love to hear any
questions you have just pop them in the comments we'll try our best to get get
back to you
definitely if you want to catch up in a pub!
okay guys we hope
you've enjoyed this video and we will see you next time see you next time

On the go with EF #53 – Maria enjoys artsy Afternoon Tea in Dublin - Duration: 5:10.
Hi guys. Welcome back to "On the go with EF". I'm still discovering the beautiful city of Dublin.
Today, I feel like doing something a bit more relaxing.
So, I've decided to go for afternoon tea.
It's a very famous and special afternoon tea.
I'm in the heart of Georgian Dublin. Look at all of these charming brick buildings.
The reason why this area is called Georgian
is because it was built during the reign of four kings named George.
On the opposite side of the street is the famous Merrion Hotel.
This is the most luxurious hotel in all of Dublin.
It's famous for its exquisite art collection,
which has also inspired their famous afternoon tea,
which I cannot wait to see and taste.
Oh my god, guys. Look at this. They have Lapsang Souchong.
It's the famous tea that smells of skis and socks, but it tastes really good.
Oh my god. They have such a wonderful selection.
Each one of the dessert names actually sounds like the name of a painting – like a piece of art.
Everything is so detailed and charming. Look how they've done the napkin.
Thank you
It smells very delicate. I'm drinking with my pinky up.
Afternoon tea here comes in two servings. This is the first one.
They were explaining to us that you have to start at the bottom of the pyramid
and work your way up through the tiers. You drink black tea with this.
And with the second serving they're coming with, where the desserts will be more like pieces of art,
you drink green tea so you can taste the flavours of the desserts better.
This is chicken with truffle sauce. Oh, this is so nice!
Scones are my absolute favourite thing. I remember the first time I tried one,
I had a whole new discovery of the dessert world.
This cream is the absolute best.
It says "Roses and Temple, Patrick Hennessey." I get it. Now I understand.
There is a different famous painting on each card and they've made a dessert inspired by each one.
So, Roses and Temple by Patrick Hennessey
is the name of the painting, and the dessert is inspired by that.
Rosewater and orange mousse on a white chocolate feuilletine.
This was delicious. I think I'm pretty full now.
I ate you! Roses and Temple by Patrick Hennessey.
Guess the name of the painting: Bowl and eggs. Okay. I shouldn't have any more sugar.
Hello. Nice hat!
This was the best afternoon tea I have ever had. And the art is what made it even more special.
I'm very glad about the day I'm having in Dublin. This was perfect and relaxing.
You guys must do it if you ever come here.
Guys, I've got a question for you. What do you prefer: coffee or tea? And why?
Comment below and the best answer is going to get this awesome cake slicer,
this really cool notepad in the shape of biscuits, and these three great inspiration-dessert cards`
that I brought from my afternoon tea.
Thank you so much for watching and make sure to come back next week.
See you!

I've written Misty
It's called The Believers Are But Brothers
Traversée which has been translated Going Through
You can pronounce it however you like
and that's the only piece of audience participation there's going to be
An Adventure is a play that follows a young couple
who are riding the crest of the fall of empire.
I had to write Misty because I was genuinely struggling
to write a play that I thought shouldn't be very hard to write.
This is the story of a little girl called Nour.
I wanted to write a political play for a young audience.
It's about the sexualisation of children and the pornification of culture
Digital culture is beginning to change forever
how it means to feel yourself as a human subject
I feel very strongly that the story of people like my grandparents
and immigrants in general aren't an adjunct story to this country.
They are straight through the very core
Our generation created this idea of Black Britishness.
What I'd like audiences to take away from the play is that 32 00:01:38,000 --> 00:01:39,999 love comes in many different shapes, sizes,
and we shouldn't necessarily look upon one thing
and force it to subscribe to what we think is 'normal'.
I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I'd have my play on at the bush.
The bush for me represents everything that as a writer I stand for.
It's an endless happiness.
It just feels right man.

Colorful "Hair Spray" Makeup【Ayaka Ishizuka】|Eng Sub - Duration: 7:14.
Making the color in a really beautiful, or should I say colorful finish.
Hello everyone, I'm Ayaka Ishizuka from Team Ginkura
Call me Ayakanne.
I am in a theater group called Team Ginkura as well as working as a chubby model.
And do theater work.
Today I am doing a abroad type makeup with the movie "Hair Spray" in mind.
So let's start.
The color contacts are Classy Brown from Ti Amo
Size 14.5mm
When I choose color contacts, I choose ones that make my eye color look light,
This classy brown color makes the eyes look shiny
and it also makes the color of the pupils light.
This is the CC cream
Airy Water CC Cream from Jill Stuart #01
It spreads so well,
and it gives a matte finish so I use it.
Lasting Tint Control #03 from Jill Stuart.
The color light green.
On pimple marks or parts you feel the skin got dark
I place it on lightly.
I don't place this thickly all over the face,
but use this as adjustment.
SANA XL Extra Rich Powder 01 Pink Beige.
This face powder has so much of it inside
No matter how much I often use it, it doesn't become less.
I've used it for a year and there is quite a lot left.
Even with a little amount, it blends in well with the skin.
Easy to use.
CanMake Jewel Star Eyes, the base for eye shadow.
It's a white eyeshadow, but this one has very small glitter in them.
Very easy to apply.
It's really good to add another layer of Eyeshadow.
CanMake Highlighter 01
Above the...high part of between the eyes.
Adding it on a little bit on the nose line and the eyebrows.
Adding more to the nose line and a bit to the chin.
Eye shadow.
I bought this on Amazon, the 120 color one under 2000yen with shipment included.
This time I'm using this orange, and this one between the red and pink,
and bottom eyelid with this pastel green type color.
Mixing with a yellowish green color.
120 colors for 2000 yen means around 1800 yen per color?
Super cheap.
It gives good color as well as nice quality,
all of it is good. A very value for money palette.
Eyebrow powder. Cezanne powder eyebrow R
There are 2 colors in it. Around 2 colors for 600 yen.
Cezanne products are cheap so they are easy to use, so I use it a lot.
The eyebrow mascara.
Integrate nuance eyebrow mascara BR672
It's a bit light color called Light brown
For this mascara, I apply it on the reverse flow of the eyebrows
Adding it against the flow of the eyebrows.
This is because when the mascara mixes with the eyebrows, it gives good color.
Next is nose shadow. CanMake nose shadow N
It's a mix of this brown and white powder
CanMake is pretty good with their low prices. I think it's around 600 yen
The nose shadow goes in here between the eyes.
Adding it short on the nostrils and the nose line.
And the white powder goes into the middle really lightly.
Substituting the blush with the palette.
Mixing the 3 pinks and this red together,
adding as a blush.
Adding the blush in a round motion.
The mascara base from CanMake.
This mascara base comes off easily with warm water.
It spreads well, easy to take off so I really like using it.
The hot eyelash curler from Panasonic.
Adding the hot eyelash curler after the mascara base
The way I add it on is, adding too much will damage the eyelashes so,
I would raise it for 2 to 3 seconds, one...two and release it.
Doing that made me realize it becomes a nice curl.
This is the yellow mascara I bought at 100 yen store CanDo
It's amazing 108yen. There are many colors to it
So many colors, 8 or 10 colors.
For party makeups or some special events when you want to add some difference to it,
this you can do it easily without much money.
For the base of the lips, I'm using Baby Lips from Maybelline.
It's between red and pink and very easy to use.
The key is it tastes like mint
Lipstick from Estee Lauder.
This was a gift from my friend on my birthday.
There is an engraving which says Ayaka right here. I cherish it a lot
When I overlay it on the lipstick base,
Estee Lauder lipsticks are amazing.
There are so many small glitter in it so it's very cute
So I love it.
For the hair, I curl it very very casually.
This casual curling is for the hair to have the tip of the hair to flow
So letting it go casually is ok.
Today I am thinking of doing an inside out
Starting out with the hair over the ears.
Taking about an amount that can be held in your hand.
Letting it halfway up.
The halfway up is created on each side of the ears.
Tying it both around the ears.
That is also going to be inside out.
Then curling the bangs a little,
Have some hair sticking out.
The sticking out hair which goes outward will create a small face effect.
The inside out I made a while ago will be loosened and spread out a little
and putting a pin on the each hair and done.
How was the westerner like color makeup?
The key point is finishing it in a very colorful as well as pretty looking makeup
The fashion coordination is very color ful chloe skirt which has the movie Hairspray in mind
I found this at a second hand store for around 3000 yen.
It was an instant buy since I wanted a chloe skirt which spreads out
This knit sweater from Parfait is really cute.
The pastel pink and this parfait is really cute.
Instant buy
There are other videos of me uploaded,
I will be happy if you check them out as well.
So bye bye

Easy pink coral makeup and cat eyes👀 (with Subs) | CHES - Duration: 4:36.
Hey all it's Ches!
Today I have an easy pink coral makeup for you.
The highlight of the makeup is fresh lip colors and neat cat eyes.
Shall we get started?
First apply full-coverage foundation on the face and spread out evenly using a sponge.
This VDL foundation is my favorite these days, and it gives you a semi-mattte finish
Apply just a little bit for a light finish.
Apply concealer using fingertips to cover up the blemishes.
Cover up the dark circles and the red tinges around the nose,
and dab with the narrow part of the sponge.
Apply liquid contouring product on the cheekbones and along the jaw,
then spread out using a sponge.
Apply the remainder on the brush on the nose and below the lips.
For brows, I picked a dark color to match my hair.
I'm going to draw the brows in their natural shape.
Shape the brows by filling in the empty areas in the middle,
and as for inner corners, fill in the upper area so they look straight.
Apply ivory eye shadow on the eyelids.
A light base helps the other colors that come next appear more natural and smooth.
Apply red neutral eye shadow on the eyelids.
Start from the area closer to the lashes and spread it upwards, for a natural, gradient finish.
Apply under the eyes as well.
Apply a slightly darker color along the crease.
For a defined look, fill in the lash lines using black eyeliner.
I'll pull out the line using a brown eye liner.
Start from where you want your eye lines to end,
and connect it to the outer corners of your eyes,
and to the rest of the eye line. Then fill in the lash lines thoroughly.
Apply brown shadow on the inner and outer corners for a gradient finish,
and fill in the lower edges of the outer and inner corners as well.
Coat your lashes with mascara thoroughly.
This is Deja Vu mascara, my daily favorite.
This one never gets cakey and extends each one of the lashes.
What's more, it's washable and easy to take off so I like this a lot.
But those of you who have short, strong lashes may not like it.
Lastly, pull out the li ne a little longer at the end.
Today I drew cat eyes, more dramatic than I do normally.
Shape the inner corners as well, with sharp finish.
Apply coral blush horizontally in a broad sweep
Apply pink color on the lips fully and blend outside with the lip brush cleaned.
Apply red lipstick on the inner lips for a mysterious gradient finish.
That's it!
How did you like today's neat and easy pink coral makeup?
Thanks for those of you who watched the entire clip
I'm going to pick one person and send her the entire makeup kit I used today.

Learn English Phrases: 10 Things You'll Hear on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday - Duration: 9:54.
- Hello, this is Jack from to fluency.com
and in this English lesson,
I'm going to go over 10 phrases,
or 10 things that you'll likely hear
on Thanksgiving Day and on Black Friday.
Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays
here in America, and it is celebrated
on the fourth Thursday in November.
It's a holiday that you do your best
to spend time with family, you have a nice dinner
and everything is peaceful.
Black Friday, on the other hand,
is all about shopping.
And this is when, most stores or all stores,
offer discounts and deals on certain items.
And people go out, and try to find the best deal
on whatever they want to get.
If you want to learn more
about this holiday and Black Friday,
I'll leave a link to wikipedia in the description,
but let's look at phrase number one.
(music)
Imagine that you're in the kitchen
and somebody takes the turkey out of the oven.
You can say, that looks delicious.
That looks delicious.
What you're doing is using the word 'look'
to describe appearance.
You could also say, that looks amazing,
that looks awesome.
We can talk about people's appearance too,
using this verb.

Let the Girl Kill Craft Beer Bar - Bars and Restaurants in Bangkok [Video #1] - Duration: 3:07.
Alrighty then!
Welcome to the twelfth video of Bangkok Unmasked!
The YouTube channel that helps you get the most out of your visit to Bangkok city!
If you're new here, please consider subscribing!
In this video I'm going to do Bangkok Unmasked's first bar review; the oddly named 'Let The
Girl Kill'.
This bar is a reincarnation of the very popular 'Let the Boy Die'.
A bar that was forced to close its doors earlier this year due to disputes with its neighbors.
'Let The Girl Kill' is basically a shop house that has been transformed into a very cool
hipster hangout.
I loved the vivid red dragon on the wall behind the bar's, I think, 13 taps!
The bar is basically like a miniature version of the Mikkeller on Ekkamai Soi 10, that has
been squeezed into a shop house!
If you're looking for good, reasonably priced, craft beer, and a laid-back ambiance, this
is going to be your kind of place!
Check out a shot of the craft beers that they currently have on offer.
'Let The Girl Kill' also has a decent selection of snacks available.
The menu isn't massive, but what they have is solid 'beer food and snacks'.
Me being me, a greedy fat bastard, I went for the pork knuckle, which was very well
executed, and left me totally satisfied after a couple of pints of Guinness and a bottle
of a German wheat beer that I'm very partial to.
So you can get a feel for the place, check out this video that I shot inside.
'Let The Girl Kill' is located a bit less than 500 meters from Hua Lamphong MRT Station.
It's near the corner of Khao Lam and Charoen Krung Roads.
Google maps will show you the way!
This is what the place looks like from the outside.
If you're in the Chinatown/Charoen Krung area, it's well worth checking out this bar!
Anyway...That's it for this video.
Expect a new video shortly.
It should be posted in about a week, or so.
For all you techies out there, this video was shot on a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, and
edited using HitFilm Express.
Finally, please don't forget to subscribe to this channel through the button below!
Also, if you have any comments on this VLOG post, please do write something in the comments
section!
Thank you very much for watching.
I'll see you next week. Goodbye.

TAG: Poznaj mnie bliżej / TAG: Meet me w/ENG sub - Duration: 9:34.
Hi everyone, I'm Martyna!
And today I'm coming with a tag!
Tequila tagged me in it - of course, you should check out her profile.
Or maybe it's here.... :D
And it's a tag called "Meet me".
We have 12 questions here,
and all of them are about ME! :D
I want to tell you more about myself :)
Keep on watching!
First question: What you have to have on you before you leave the house?
And I was thinking about the answer, because
I don't thing there is anything THAT necessery for me to have it.
I believe I can survive without phone or my bag, but
the only thing I really like to have is money.
My parents tought me, that
I always should have at least 10 euro with me!
You never know when you will need them!
Even when I'm taking a car and I'm not planning to buy anything.
But sometimes your car can break down and you need to take a bus!
You can get thirsty or hungry..
So yeah, I'm really trying to have some change in my pocket,
even when I'm going somewhere around the house.
Question two: Date of birthday and nameday?
My birthday is 21.10. and nameday 30.01.
Martyna's nameday is only once a year!
And I don't know many people who are celebrating their nameday...
Of course it's not a big party or anything,
but it's more of the family celebration.
I honestly really like this tradition,
because it's another reason to give (and get) a gift! ;)
Question three: What was my favorite game when I was a child?
When I'm thinking about my childhood
I miss only (don't know English translation) jumping rubber & jumping rope.
But as a kid, I wouldn't be able to say what was my favorite game.
I remember that I was playing with my sister,
we had 1000 Barbie dolls
and we loved to play with them.
So yeah, I don't have one favorite game.
All my childhood was joyfull!
Question four: My favorite everyday hairstyle?
I really like to have a loose hare.
I don't fell very well when I have to go outside in a ponytail.
Now I really like to do half / half, as you can see :p
But the only thing I really need to feel good is my bangs!
I can't imagine myself without it.
I have bangs since 3rd grade!
I was 8/9 years old! :D
It's almost 20 years... :p
Question five: Name of my first love?
I won't talk about kindergarten or primary school,
when I had a crush :D
But I didn't have a boyfriend :D
My first boyfriend, with whom
I was for many years was Robert.
Question six: The worst lesson at schoole?
I don't even have to think too long.
It's a history, for 100%!
Even though I was studying social studies and
it is definitely more on humanistic part of sciene, where you have more history lessons,
yada
yada
yada
yada
yada :D
I didn't know how to learn history from the beggining!
I get my first F at history classes,
I didn't learn a thing for all those years.
In high schoole I was writing my test with my phone
because we had free WiFi at schoole...
But even then I was getting E's :p
So now you can imagine how dumb I am :D
That's all story about history :D
But! I'm trying to share knowladge about Polish history.
And I care about it a lot.
Even with small things, like write a Facebook post
in English, so my other friends can learn about important dates for Polish people.
Question 7: How tall are you?
I'm 1,6 m! 1,59 m in my ID :D
Maybe I grow up since my 18th b-day :D
But honestly - everyone says we're super short
but I think that most of my girlfriends
1,60 - precisely!
Most of people I know are not super tall!
So MAAAYBE
it's normal to have 1,60 and YOU giants, are too big! :D
Question 8: Are you a home-bird or a party animal?
In my case everything is determinded by my company.
With my friends in Poland
I can go out every week.
But... what do we mean by "party"?
Club, drinking, going back home at 6 a.m.?
Or simple bar where I can drink or not, and talk with my friends like normal human being? :D
If we think about the second one, I definitely prefer to go out with my friends.
But if I had to go out with no reason,
or even worse
go out to drink an alcohol....
NOOO.
And for sure I wouldn't go with boring people (like not my really good friends, just to party)!
I'd spend this time much better alone.
I'd not spend money that way :D
Question 9: Do you like to be surrounded by people?
Yes, yes, yes!
I like to have a company, I don't like to
spend time alone.
For example, when I was studing,
when I had to study, I prefered to go to the library and do it there
even so I wasn't with my friends!
But if we are talking about people on the concerts...
I hate them :D and I hate shopping malls!
I don't like when people are slowing me down
or making me feel uncomfortable.
Question 10: Do you prefer: Christmas or Easter?
I like both the same!
But I like sunny weather on Easter more than snow :p
But I can't pick one,
both are very important for me, because of my family.
Question 11: What do you like to do when you have an evening only for youself?
TV, Netflix, book, blanket,
laptop...
and nothing more!
... ok pizza :D
Question 12: Your nickname?
In primary school, when I was very young
I never have any!
But my current nickname is just a first part of my surname :p
I won't tell, because it's easy to figure out the second part of it :D
It's so obvious that people are calling me like this,
that I'm surprised that no one thought about it before :p
In high schoole,
people were calling me Emsi.
My best friends use it till today
and if I need a nick online it's also always emsi.
And I really like it to be honest :p
On the other hand my folks,
even so I'm 27 already,
are calling me "Tunia".
And I was "Tunia" since forever,
I even have a pick from kindergarten on the slide
where you can see on my pinny huge "TUNIA" and next to it "MARTYNA" :P
That's all! It was so quick guys!
I WANT TO TELL YOU MOREEEE!
I want to tag girls from channels:
I hope you like it
and you learn something new about me.
If you do, please give it a thumbs up, share a comment,
and of course I'd be pleased when you subscribe to my channel!

Do These 5 Things to Improve Your English Listening Skills! - Duration: 13:02.
Hello and welcome back to OLA English with Greg. In today's lesson I'm going to
give you my top 5 pieces of advice to help you improve your listening skills
in English. I speak to many students and they always tell me that listening and
understanding native speakers is one of the most difficult things in a foreign
language and I think this is for 3 main reasons. Firstly, they use
expressions and native ways of saying things that you don't necessarily learn
at school or in your classes. Secondly, their pronunciation just isn't like your
teachers. And third, they speak too quickly!!! Aghh, slow down!!! So in this lesson
I'm going to give you my best advice to help you get over this problem and start
understanding English native speakers a little bit more easily... are you ready?
OK, I'm Greg from Online Language Academy. We teach conversational
English via Skype to students all over the world to help them gain fluency and
confidence in spoken English. If that's what you want then click up there and
try class. OK, and all these students that we have always tell me the same
thing, "I need to communicate more easily. Yes I need to speak more fluently and I
also need to understand native speakers when they're speaking to me because it's
important in my job / I go to England and I can't understand anybody when they're
speaking to me and..." OK, calm down! There is something you can do about it. OK so
let's have a look at the 5 things I want you to do in order to improve your
listening skills in English.
First is learn connected speech. Alright, connected speech I did a video
on one small aspect of connected speech, you can watch that video up there, and I
talked about the use of the intrusive R and the linking R just to help us
speak more clearly and more fluently to basically to make it easier for us for
native speakers to speak. One example of this is "Donna and her mother..." Donna and
her mother... We put an imaginary R between the two words to help us speak more
fluently. Right I'm not going to talk about connected speech in this video but
I think it is really important to learn these little linking techniques that
native speakers use to make it easier for us to speak so that when you are
listening you know what to expect. I've said simple expressions, simple sentences
to my students sometimes and they haven't understood me simply because,
using that example, they've understood the word Donna but they think the next
word is Rand. And they think: "Rand?? Rand???" What's Rand???" No, I'm not talking about
the currency, I'm saying Donna AND but I'm linking the words with this
intrusive R. There are many techniques that we use in English and I want you to
learn them so that you know what to expect when you're listening to native
English speakers talking.
The second thing I want you to do is listen to music in English. Now I'm sure
you already do this, right? I mean English and American music is so
international but I'm sure in your country you listen to English songs all
the time on the radio. A lot of students watch an entire film in English with
subtitles and I don't really find that too helpful to improve your listening
skills. Yeah it feels good, right, when you watch a movie in English and you
understand it. You feel good, sure! But I want to focus on smaller
parts of English, I want you to find your favourite songs in English and actually
listen to them while reading the lyrics, OK, while reading the words. Listen to
it, listen to how the singers actually pronounce what they're singing. Music is
such, such an effective way of learning how native English speakers really speak
and it's the best way to hear the rhythm and also to hear how we link words into
one another. I've been teaching English for about 15 years now and I can tell
you that the students with the best pronunciation are not the students
who've lived in England, they're the students who've learned English by
listening to music! Honestly! And it's such an easy thing to do. I'm sure your
favourite song in English is 3 or 4 minutes, just listen to it, learning
the lyrics and imitating exactly how the singer sings the song, alright, and then
you're walking around the house, you're driving your car and you're singing the
song with a perfect English pronunciation that you can then
transition into your spoken English and when native English speakers are
speaking to you... surprise surprise... you can understand it, you're gonna
recognize the words, recognise the sounds and you're going to understand it!
Number 3 is to not learn words in English... don't learn words in English...
learn phrases! If you just focus on single words in English then when people
are speaking to you it's kind of natural that you translate every word that you
know, it's quite an ineffective way of learning a language and a much more
effective way is to learn groups of words or chunks and both use them when
you're speaking English and recognize them when people speak to you. Alright, a
couple of examples of chunks are, "Do you know if..." Alright and it's important to
learn the real pronunciation of this, listen to how we actually pronounce it.
Do you know if... D'ya know if... D'ya know if... D'ya know if it's gonna be hot
tomorrow? Do you know if John's going to the party? Do you know if they're working
in Spain tomorrow? Learn the group of words and then you'll recognize it when
people say it to you, and you won't have to worry about understanding that part
of the sentence. For example, if someone says to you 'Do you know if Sandra's
going to the party tomorrow?' you understand 'Do you know if...' – it's a chunk that
you've already learned – 'Do you know if...' You recognize it, you don't worry about
it. And then you understand Sandra / party /
tomorrow... Alright, hey even if you don't understand every single word in the
sentence you get the idea and you understand the meaning of that sentence.
Learn chunks! Not words!
The fourth thing I want you to do is listen to a podcast or watch YouTube
videos on a topic there is something that you generally talk about. Let's
imagine you work in I.T, in a computer company. If you're using your English
every day to talk about computers, to talk about software or app development... watch
English YouTube videos or listen to English podcasts about technology! First
of all, it's something that interests you so you're gonna actually want to listen
to it. I love listening to entrepreneurial podcasts because it really interests me.
It's not... I don't feel like 'bufff.. I've got to listen to this entrepreneurial
podcast tomorrow', y'know? I really enjoy it, I listen to it and I walk around the
house listening to it, I listen to it when I'm driving my car, I listen to it
while I'm eating breakfast and it's interesting to me so I pay attention. If
you're doing this in English it's also a great exercise for you to not focus on
understanding every single word in the sentence - that's not important - it's a
great exercise for you to pick out the most important words and try to get a
general idea of what they're talking about.
Yes, native speakers speak quickly, teachers will often speak a little bit
more slowly perhaps or maybe more easy to understand, but if you go to central
London and you're speaking to someone there who has never ever spoken to a
foreigner before then they might speak incredibly quickly so it's great
practice for you to listen to something that's interesting for you at full speed
in English in a podcast or a YouTube video.
And finally the fifth thing I want you to do is focus a bit more on informal
English and slang and common expressions that we always use but they don't teach
you in the textbooks. Let me give you an example of this... So you might know my
wife is Spanish and when we first started going out
I took her to England to visit my family and my friends and doing that in a
foreign language it's... you know... she was probably a bit nervous and she was
thinking, alright, I've got to make sure my English is is the best it can be
for this moment and I remember introducing her to one of my best
friends and I introduced them and my friend said to her "how's tricks?"
How's tricks? That was the first thing he said to her and she was like, what?? How's
tricks?? Of course, 'How's tricks?' simply means 'how
are you?' in English but in an informal English. Obviously, it's slang and
immediately she felt like whoah, I'm not gonna understand this guy at all. You
know, she lost all confidence in her English, she thought I'm... just, what am i
doing? I don't understand any English at all! Yes, my friend probably should have
said "how are you?" or something more understandable for a non-native speakers
but it's also a great idea for you to learn informal slang English to help you
understand native speakers more easily and not get lost in a conversation just
because somebody's used a really really informal word that you never learn in
textbooks or in typical English classes in your country.
Alright, so these are 5 things that you can do starting now, you can do all these
things, you can take action to improve your listening skills in English. It's
not going to happen from one day to the next but they are also not very
difficult things to do. Learning slang is fun, I loved learning slang in different
languages. Listening to podcasts that you enjoy,
that's fun! It's interesting, listening to short YouTube videos or songs that you
love and learning the words... that's fun! Alright, and then learning phrases that
you're gonna hear all the time on TV, on YouTube, in songs and also learning the
linking sounds between words in English, these are such effective practices to
help you improve your English that you're gonna see results and it's gonna
make you feel great about yourself and you'll realize that you're soon gonna start
to understand English more easily than you did before. So take action! There are
a couple of videos I want you to watch next... that one on linking sounds in
English and that one is an interview I did in which we discussed 17 things you
can do to improve your listening skills in English. So watch those and I'll see
you in the next class. Have a great week! Bye for now!
