On Friday afternoon Donald Trump claimed that TIME magazine reached out to him to tell him

that they were likely going to anoint him their "Person of the Year."

He also claimed that TIME said it would be necessary for him to do an interview and a

major photo shoot to acquire the title.

Finally, he says he declined because "probably" wasn't firm enough.

Less than three hours later, TIME sent out their own tweet disputing Trump's account

by saying he was "incorrect' about their method for handing out the annual designation:

While Trump has covered the magazine at least 14 times, almost all of which have come since

he announced his run for president, the one that probably easily made the most news was

the fake one that was hung in at least four of his 17 golf clubs declaring The Apprentice

a television smash.

Relatedly, in December 2015, Trump also sent out this tweet after German Chancellor Angela

Merkel was named TIME's Person of the Year

The former editor of Time, Richard Stengel, further clarified how many times Trump made

the cover of the magazine during his run as editor.

memes at the crippling effect that this lifestyle has on the psyche.

When you're born into it, there are two choices that you have: I'm either going

to try to go into it completely and help from the inside, or no one is going to know where

I am and I'm really going to take myself completely out of the eye of society.

There's really no in-between."

Even though her parents fame has resulted in her lack of privacy and other hardships,

Willow has praised her mom and dad for raising her in the most normal way that they could.

Back in 2016 in an interview with Pharrell, Willow shared that her parents set a good

example.

Willow released her sophomore album The 1st in October.

In a tweet to launch the album Willow described it as the emotional regurgitation from the

depths of a burgeoning woman.

How to Make Embroidery Hoop Art (using Scrap Fabrics) | Style Pile #20 - Duration: 5:44.

Hello, welcome back, and we have skipped the intro again so we can

just get right into it!

This is a 4-part mini-series-within-a-series, where I try and reuse a bunch of scrap fabrics

from my "Style Pile" box.

That has become... boxes.

In the last 2 episodes, we made a fox plushie and an eyemask, and in THIS episode, we'll

be using our scrap fabrics, and two new materials - embroidery threads and a wooden hoop - to

make some embroidery hoop art.

Scrap fabrics are GREAT to use for embroidery, especially as you can get embroidery hoops

in just about any size you need.

So those really pretty but TINY fabric scraps that you can't bear to throw out, well,

you can get teeny tiny hoops just for those!

These little hoops are from an Etsy store, and they make cute tiny hoop art knick-knacks

or pendants for necklaces.

So, this is how to set fabric into an embroidery hoop:

First I found a piece of scrap fabric that was slightly larger than the embroidery hoop

that I wanted to use.

I cut this scrap down to size, but I also made sure that it's at least a couple of

inches wider than the hoop all the way around.

Then, I opened the embroidery hoop up… and I placed the small hoop down at the back…

and I put the fabric on top of this.

The bigger hoop then goes on top of this...

"pop!"

- then I tightened the screw to hold

it all in place.

And if your fabric's really cute, you could even leave it like this, or you can paint

on it, draw on it… or… you can do some embroidery!

Which is what I'm going to be doing in today's video.

And I'm going to do some timelapses for a couple of the hoops that I made, showing

you some essential stitches that I use all the time in embroidery along the way.

So – let's go!

On this floral scrap piece of fabric, I free-handed a heart shape with some erasable chalk, then

I did an outline of this heart using a back-stitch, and I filled in the shape with a satin stitch.

And I'll have links to more detailed videos showing you how to do all of these stitches,

as well as how to thread an embroidery needle and how knot your thread, in the description

box below.

So you'll be totally sorted to make your own hoop art.

On this plain cream-coloured piece of scrap fabric, I drew an outline of a tree with a

water-soluble marker, and then I did a satin-stitch for the tree trunk and branches with brown

thread, and an OUTLINE stitch for the tree's leaves,

and then I filled in the tree's

leaves with a long-and-short stitch.

This stitch is really similar to satin stitch but it's useful for filling in larger shapes

than what a regular satin stitch can handle.

Also, I did little guide stitches around the circle-shape of the leaves, to guide my long-and-short

stitches.

And I actually put this one into one of those mini-hoops – I'm going to make it into

a necklace pendant!

Lastly, to finish off the hoop, and to make the edges all nice, first I folded them in

like this and I REALLY roughly hand-stitched it into place, pulling the thread tight to

make the fabric all fold in, all around the edges, like this.

Now, I know it doesn't look that pretty, but that doesn't matter, because I'm about

to cover that up.

To make it nicer on the back, I grabbed some more scraps that were big enough, traced around

the hoop with some chalk to get the approximate size of the hoop, cut this out, and cut it

smaller around the edges, abouuuut 5/8ths of an inch from the edge, and then I placed

it on the back of the hoop, and I hand-sewed the edges to the first piece of fabric, but

I did this a bit more neatly this time.

I'm… still not that great at hand-stitching, as you can see… and I did kind of rush this

one... but that doesn't matter.

Because you can't see the back of the embroidery hoop once it's hanging up anyway.

To hang up the hoops, I got a piece of twine and I threaded it through the top of the hoop,

and then I tied a little bow, and then I put it on a hook on the wall!

I'm currently making a little section of embroidery-art and photos on the wall in my

stairwell, and these are all the other hoops that I've added to it so far!

This daisy one here was made with fabric from an old pair of black jeans, and I did this

cute daisy stitch on them – I showed you all how to do this stitch back in Style Pile

episode 17!

This daisy stitch is useful for covering large amounts of fabric really quickly.

I've also made this little guy, also using that scrap jeans fabric...

Luci requested that I make this one for him, because one of his favourite animals are frogs.

I made this rabbit one with a checkered fabric leftover from Style Pile episode 14 – now

after this experience, I don't recommend using fabric with stripes or checks for hoop

art because it's REALLY hard to get it to sit in a frame without the fabric going all

wobbly and wonky!

I might end up cutting this one out and making it into a patch instead!

And the most recent one that I've made is this floral pattern, that I traced out of

a Japanese Embroidery Pattern book, on that same cream scrap fabric as the tree pendant.

The outlines are done using a split stitch, and the flowers are all French Knots!

And I'll put links for all of these stitches in the description, so you can all learn how

to do them too.

So I'm going to keep adding more embroidery art to this wall, because I've recently

fallen back in love with embroidery and have been practicing it, like, everyday!

Buyers beware of online scams 5 fraud-busting tips for your online shopping this season

If you don�t feel like waiting in line for hours just to buy holiday gifts, you�re

probably considering doing some online shopping instead.

But before you buy anything online, check out this list of five tips to help you avoid

online scams.

More than a quarter of online scams in the U.K. happen right before Christmas, and victims

lose an estimated �893 ($1,183), which is more than double the average festive budget

of buyers.

Since British shoppers can spend as much as �400 during the holidays, scammers are eager

to catch victims off-guard as they buy all sorts of gifts over the internet.

According to a survey by Barclays, the government and retailers have their work cut out for

them since 38 percent of more than 2,000 people surveyed by the British multinational bank

revealed that they do not know how to identify a secure website.

This leaves shoppers open to all sorts of scams by fraudulent individuals.

Scammers could be having a merry Christmas this year because they might rake in as much

as a whopping �1.3 billion ($1.6 billion) all over the U.K. during the holidays.

Meanwhile, online retailers could lose at least �72 million ($94 million) in revenues.

Almost 60 percent of shoppers state that they do not feel safe when buying online, especially

in the days right before Christmas.

Samantha White, who works at Barclays and helps to protect customers from scammers,

warned, �While families across the U.K. are preparing to enjoy the festive season,

criminals are getting ready to pounce on anyone who lets their guard down.�

Some online shoppers also have online bank accounts, and most of them can be the victim

of online scams like fake websites, spam emails linked to offers from made-up sites, identity

scammers looking to steal personal and banking information and fraudulent payment services.

Cyber-crime is an ever-increasing problem, and it currently accounts for almost half

of all crime in the U.K.

At least 3.6 million individual computer fraud incidents were reported in the year to September

2016.

The significant rise in cyber-crime increased the total value of fraud that reached the

U.K. courts in 2016 to over �1 billion ($1.3 billion), according to separate data published

by KPMG earlier this year.

These tips from Barclays can help make your online shopping experience much safer:

Before logging in or clicking any button, make sure that the retailer website you�re

on has the padlock symbol and �https� in the address bar.

Be wary of any deals, especially if they seem too good to be true.

Don�t log in to public Wi-Fi, especially for buying Christmas gifts online.

Never share your PIN or online banking password.

Legitimate websites will never ask for them.

Monitor your bank balance so that the moment you spot any irregularities you can report

fraudulent transactions right away.

More tips for safe online shopping

If you�re still worried about doing your holiday shopping online, keep these tips in

mind:

Shop using familiar websites � Go directly to a trusted site instead of shopping with

a search engine.

Search results can be rigged but this won�t be a problem if you know the site well.

Watch out for misspellings or sites with a different top-level domain (e.g. .net instead

of .com).

Don�t give anyone your credit card number over email � Online shopping stores don�t

need your social security number or your birthday to complete a transaction.

But once scammers find out details like this, they can easily steal your identity.

Check credit card statements � Check your statements online regularly during the holidays,

and look at electronic statements for your credit card, debit card, and checking accounts.

Keep an eye out for any fraudulent charges.

Notify your bank immediately if you notice anything wrong.

Ash Clouds In April 2010, Europe's skies remained largely

closed for several days after a mass of volcanic ash which originated from Iceland blanketed

the continent causing crippling flight delays.

Due to the disruptions to air traffic, a major portion of 22,000 scheduled flights destined

to take off from locations throughout Europe were cancelled.

In fact, only 6,000 departed during the near weeklong event.

The International Air Transport Association estimated the air traffic interruptions caused

approximately $200 million in damage a day.

Contrary to popular belief, flying through ash will not completely destroy an aircraft

in seconds, but the abrasive particles will certainly cause great exterior and electrical

damage to airplanes flying through the clouds over a very short period time.

One thing is to cancel a flight when the presence of ash is found when the weather forecast

calls for such phenomenon.

The other is to fly right through this type of obscuration.

So, the obvious question is: How do you handle such an in-flight scenario?

In 1999, Boeing Commercial Airplanes published an article in Aero, the company's technical

journal, about encountering volcanic ash clouds.

If you should find yourself inside a volcanic ash cloud, Boeing recommends taking nine steps

to getting yourself, your crew and your passengers out of harm's way.

The following nine procedures are general recommendations.

Each operator's flight operations manuals will include more specific directions.

1.

Reduce thrust to idle immediately.

By reducing thrust, engines may suffer less buildup of molten debris on turbine blades

and hot-section components.

Idle thrust allows engines to continue producing electrical power, bleed air for pressurization,

and hydraulic power for airplane control.

2.

Turn the autothrottles off.

This prevents the engines from increasing thrust above idle.

Ash debris in the engine can result in reduced surge margins, and limiting the number of

thrust adjustments improves the chances of engine recovery.

3.

Exit the ash cloud as quickly as possible.

A 180-deg turn out of the ash cloud using a descending turn is the quickest exit strategy.

Many ash clouds extend for hundreds of miles, so assuming that the encounter will end shortly

can be false.

Climbing out of the ash could result in increased engine debris buildup as the result of increased

temperatures.

The increased engine buildup can cause total thrust loss.

4.

Turn on engine and wing ice protection system and all air-conditioning packs.

These actions improve the engine stall margins by increasing the flow of bleed air.

5.

If possible, start the auxiliary power unit auxiliary power unit (APU).

The APU can power systems in the event of a multiple-engine power loss.

It can also be used to restart engines through the use of APU bleed air.

6.

If volcanic dust fills the flight deck, the crew may need to use oxygen.

Use flight deck oxygen at the 100 percent setting.

Manual deployment of the passenger oxygen system is not required because it will deploy

automatically if the cabin altitude exceeds 14,000 ft.

7.

Turn on the continuous ignition.

Confirm that autostart is on, if available.

In the event that the engines flame out or stall, use appropriate procedures to restart

the engines.

During restart, the engines may take longer than normal to reach idle thrust due to the

combined effects of high altitude and volcanic ash ingestion.

If an engine fails to start, try restarting it again immediately.

Flight crews should remember that the airplane may be out of the airstart envelope if the

encounter occurs during cruise.

8.

Monitor exhaust gas temperature gauge(EGT).

Because of potential engine debris buildup, the EGT can climb excessively.

The flight crew should prevent EGT exceeding its operational limits.

Shut down the engine and restart it if the EGT is approaching limits similar to a hung

start.

9.

Fly the airplane by monitoring airspeed and pitch attitude.

If necessary, follow the procedure for flight with unreliable airspeed.

Coin Roll Hunting Nickels - Silver and Gold Found! - Duration: 13:54.

hey everyone its Rob again and I picked up another Wells Fargo nickel box

there's a b-26 so Wells Fargo's them good for me now I'm still looking for

that infamous V Nickel - I don't have any yet looking to get one eventually that's

the mission but I will take the Buffaloes and Silver's as well and I'd

like to see some 30 coins let's get this box open and see what we find it's

always a good sign when they are circulated coins and I don't see any

fantastic Enders but that's pretty common with nickels usually don't see

any Buffalo's or V nickels or war nickels on the ends at least on one side

and let me go ahead and get started on this hunt and I'll loop you guys back in

if I find anything cool all right guys I'm super stoked right now I was hoping

for at least one 30s in this box I'm in my second role I dumped it out I

start going through coins this dirty reddish one catches my eye I'm thinking

it's gonna be just another ugly Jefferson and look what it is a first

year Jefferson nickel 1938 please have a good mint mark well it's just a filly

date or filly mint but I will take it it's my very first ever 1938 Jefferson

nickel from a box of nickels so that's a good score for me I'm happy with that

this box is already good the patina is kind of cool on it I like that it has

this brick maroon reddish background to it it's not in the best of conditions

overall but I've seen worse so I will definitely take it we're on the board

with a 38 Jefferson in the second role I'll be back in if you find more

find so I just wanted to show you that was a pretty good role I got that 38

Jefferson a 54 s and a 2009 D so nice mix of dates three of the coins I'm

looking for great role let's get back after it okay guys we're off to a

freaking fantastic start you'll remember in the second role I got a 38 a 54 S and

an O 9 I'm in the fourth role I've already got a no 9 and look what pops up

here and say Philadelphia mint silver more nickel 1944 Wow we are off to a

bangin start to get a silver already a 38 and we've got lots more coins to go

through I'll be back in when I find something cool guys we've got a first

ever I just showed you that I got a 44 Philadelphia silver I'm in the same role

I'm going through it look at the patina on this top my eye

sure enough it's another 1944 and it's a San Francisco mint silver we just got

two silver coins in one roll in one roll I'm gonna just check see if there's

anything else in this roll sorry I'm excited I'm flipping coins that don't

even be flip nope that's it but Wow four rolls already two silvers of 54s a

38 and to 2009's and the feel the sixties already man well we'll get you

guys back in on this if we find even more 6 roll in the boxes continue to put

out we just scored a 1940 claim date a 1940 it's our third one already

and I found it just shown in the roll so let's get back after it alright guys

we've got a little bit of a dry streak there except for the 60s but I did get

in the 14th roll just found myself a 1946 plane Chile mint so there you go

we'll catch you back we find more finds well that was quick

it had me fooled didn't even think this was anything special just thought it was

kind of a miss colored coin as I'm reading the date I see 1944 and it's a

little choppy and I flip it over and at first I don't see anything

and after I inspected a little better I see the s Wow

we got our third silver nickel in the 14 rolls we've opened so far and we still

got more coins to go do plus all those so we're already up to three silver

nickels in less than 14 rolls I'll loop you back in if I find even more all

right guys we're in our 20th roll pulling out the 60s and look what I find

good look in 1939 filly so we've got our second 39 or second 30s from the roll

along with five of the 40's three or silver and six from the 50s so good box

so far let's keep it going 22nd role in pulled off the ender and

right below it got ourselves a 1941 filly so makes another from the 40s and

I will take it let's see what else in this world we got a couple of

possibilities here what's this one

it's a 1984 in the jump in we'll be right back

all right guys next role they enrolled over 23 and boom in 1940 1940s it's also

slightly off on the edges by about 5% but we will take it every single time

30s and 3 2009 and were only on roll number 23 let's keep going all right

guys 28th roll in I open it and this is interesting so I figured I would bring

you guys in for this one probably a foreign coin maybe kind of interesting

that it's gold color 2005 Buffalo

appears to be maybe gold-plated no it's got to be gold-plated or something if

you guys know what this is let me know I have no idea what that is

I'm gonna guess that it's a 2005 buffalo nickel that is gold-plated like as some

kind of commemorative piece or maybe a company did this or a limited edition I

don't know off to do some research on it but in the meantime if I don't get the

answers if you guys could leave some comments below and let me know if you

know what that is that's kind of cool I'm definitely gonna set that one aside

because I have not seen that before of course I didn't do it nickels so

let's get back to the hunt all right guys 31 rolls into the box end of the

roll luck here we scored another or a first 19:46

no MIT mark Philly but it's another 40s coin and now we have a total of eight of

those last two points are Junkers so let's see what the rest of the box

yields well we're on our 37th roll and looks like you got another one of those

gold coins yep exact same one as the last one so that's

pretty cool oh I have you here we also have an ugly

in there could be anything but let's take a look it's just an ugly 81 always

worth the look though will do be back any fights of nails cool

alright guys same role as that second gold-plated coin towards the last few

coins in the roll we scored a 1940 Philly so that makes another 40s coin and that

always makes me happy alright we'll get you guys around up at the end but it's

not the end see you soon 39th roll in about six coins deep 1947 Philly as

well so that's another 40s coin let's keep going 40 first world in picking out

some 60s towards the end of the roll we score

another nineteen forty-seven it's in rough shape but it is a denver and next

to my other 47 we just recently got yeah forty fourth rolled in towards the back

third of the roll another nineteen forty

put them over there with the 40s and I'll take it

47th rule in about another 1941 playmate filly

well the stack and we'll keep on hunting alright guy same rule that I got that 41

a second ago that you just saw we also got a 46 plane three more left

alright guys done with that Wells Fargo box I'm gonna go to the stat sheet first

just to show you what we did here so out of the 50 rolls of nickels we got no V

Nichols no Buffalo's but it did break its record effort

one in two silvers before with three silver war nickels total coins in the

60s was 93 its best ever 50 coins or the 1950s coins that had 17 which tied its

best 11 points in the 40s which tied its best obviously it doesn't include the

three silver so when you add the 11 and the three that's 14 it would be it's

best to coins in the 30s including a 38 which I'll show you

no foreign coins and six 2009's let's go ahead and just take a quick peek at the

finds here's the six 2009's I kept this coin this 2000 because it has a kind of

a really cool rainbow patina so I've kept it to the side we had the two gold

2005 plated coins I've kept In the 50s we had a 52 two 53's two 54's a 55 a 56 two 57's

4 58's and 4 59's crazy in the 40s we actually had four 1940s two forty ones

three silver all 44's we had 3 46's and two forty sevens and then in the 30's we

had that 1938 and that 1939 this is my first 1938 again it's in rough shape

kind of a cool patina though and I will take it it's my first one a little bit

in the Jefferson nickel book it's the first one I have of the three available

that year anyway what am I probably one of my best nickel hunts ever I got four

silvers in a box before and I mean I was I didn't get any Buffalo's or any

vehicles but three silvers a lo series 38 a bunch of old coins a couple of gold
