Youtube daily report May 28 2018

This week on TGC News, Holosun goes Elite, Citadel brings 12 gauges of fun, and new stuff

from Alien Gear, Lone Wolf, Brownells, and Mean Arms!

Welcome back to another episode of TGC News, the only gun news show that covers things

you actually care about, my name is Jon Patton.

If You watch this show every week, do me a favor and smash that like button, I want to

see if we can hit 3k likes in the first 24 hours!

Before we get into the news it's very important to take a minute to acknowledge the folks

that have given their lives to protect and defend this beautiful country we live in.

This is first airing on Memorial Day and I want to make sure everyone out there is taking

the time to think about how we got this far as a nation.

Now the news.

First up this week is a new optic from a company that has been slinging out a bunch of new

stuff this year.

With the introduction of their sort of affordable but premium Elite Series last year, holosun

has jumped up a level.

They made a name for themselves by offering good quality red dot optics at really solid

pricing.

Between Holosun and Primary Arms, the sub 300 dollar optic market has never been the

same.

Well in an effort to keep expanding and growing, holosun has introduced a new version of their

HS510C optic from their elite line called surprisingly the HS510C Elite.

On the surface it's fairly simple, an open reflex style sight that looks like an RMR

and an Eotech had a baby.

Digging deeper there are a few things that start to set it apart from other options.

First and foremost, the solar cell which is probably my favorite thing on Holosun optics.

It's basically a built in trickle charger and light sensor for your optic.

Beyond that, they have the "shake awake" feature which means it comes on when you move

your optic and shuts off after a user input segment of time.

THAT is pretty slick.

Moving on from there, the hood portion of the optic is made from titanium which is great

for strength.

It also has a multi reticle system to choose between a circle and dot, just a dot or just

a circle.

On top of that, the reticle is now Green.

That might not sound significant but it's actually easier for the human eye to pick

up green light AND according to holosun the new diode used for these green reticles is

significantly more power efficient than their red options.

That means the rating of up to 50,000 hours of battery life might be legit.

Now here's the kicker, you get some neat features and you don't have to pay a lot, The MSRP

on this HS510C Elite is $352.93 weirdest MSRP ever.

Now we've been working with Holosun for a little while now so you guys know how I feel

about their stuff, but what I want to know is how many of you would grab this over a

tube style red dot optic?

And In...

News, Citadel has introduced a new AK style shotgun called

the RSS1.

Long story short, it's a VEPR 12 gauge with a 20 inch barrel and some new furniture on

it.

And a couple of other tweaks.

Starting in the back there is a fancy stock they're calling a mono stock.

In the past it was always thumbhole stocks because somehow a thumbhole stock proves to

pass the sporting purposes exemption with importation laws.

Moving forward, the dust cover has a rail on it which is cool.

The forend and gas tube have a nice texture to them and under the front sight base is

another picatinny rail for mounting a sweet laser or light.

And my favorite feature, the bolt lock button which is between the trigger guard and mag

well and then the bolt unlock near the pistol grip.

Not groundbreaking BUT its very cool to have those on any AK style gun.

MSRP on this thing is a not too awful 799 bucks.

We covered a different shotgun like this a few weeks ago that was an AK shotgun disguised

as a bullpup and I think these two are from the same line of thinking.

Find new ways to get these damn things into the country and everyone wins.

Now, I'm not sure that I would personally rock one of these as a primary over my normal

semi auto shotguns but it could be something fun to have in the collection.

It's time for some Rapid Fire news!

We have a bunch of stuff to hit so HERE WE GO!

First, Mean Arms, the company that came up with a really slick way to load compliant

fixed mag ARs through the loading gate has expanded on that idea and is now making one

for AR10's.

With the growing popularity of AR10 308's out there, this makes a lot of sense, MSRP

is a hefty 59.99.

Next, Brownells is expanding their line of gun offerings with the addition of the BRN

22 which is essentially a stripped Ruger 10/22 receiver.

This is fantastic if you are looking to build a ground up custom gun and don't want to pay

to buy a regular 10/22 to start.

The picatinny railed version goes for 89.99 and the non railed for 10 bucks less.

Lone Wolf, best known for being a giant in the aftermarket Glock accessory game, has

introduced a new slide thats grabbing a ton of attention including mine.

This is the signature series Number 23 slide.

There are a ton more in the series but look at this thing.

It's weird and rounded and ugly and beautiful all at the same time.

The price tag is going to hurt though.

The only way to get this is to buy one of their blank slides at 175 bucks and then pay

an additional 200 on top of that to get it milled this way.

Certainly not the worst we've seen here on TGC News, but not cheap either.

And rounding us out, Alien Gear released a new in-car holster as part of their shape

shift modular holster lineup called the driver defense holster.

The idea is that it straps around the bottom of your drivers seat and keeps the gun right

between your legs.

Making a good in-car holster system is a very challenging thing with not only the variety

of guns and people, but then add in the variety of vehicles on the road, the complexity goes

through the roof.

I think the short coming with this one is that it requires a car where you can actually

get a strap around the bottom seat cushion.

I know in most newer cars there are so many electronics and other nonsense that it just

wouldn't be possible and even if you could, you wouldn't want to mess up the seat itself

by strapping it tight enough to be useful.

MSRP on the driver defense holster is 59 bucks.

Our Guntuber of the Week is someone that I've known for the better part of 5 years, The

channel has evolved over the years and the main series called The Weekly Drill Down is

quite possibly one of the most fun recurring gun shows on YouTube right now.

Not to mention that the guy who runs it, Whitey, has been a very good friend to me over the

years.

Say hello to FourGuysGuns.

Definitely make sure you get subscribed and tell them TGC sent you and of course there

are links down in the description as always.

your questions from all over social media this week the questions are again coming from

the gun Collective Facebook page,

Juan that is a great question, I think the best answer is that it depends on the kid.

Only you can judge when to teach your children about things like gun safety.

I've seen kids as young as three shooting and I've seen kids that are 10 whose parents

won't let them shoot yet.

Maturity and mindset matter a lot here.

The best way is to show people that it's fun and worth their time and money.

This is the challenge that Firearms instructors battle everyday.

How to get people interested in spending money on a service that if all goes well they may

never need.

Getting people interested in things like that is not easy but including them without being

an overbearing douche, and screaming, you have to go get training!

Getting away from that crap is what is really going to help us as a community.

Well Kyle it's a simple answer, vote out the jerks in office that support that crap and

repeal the law requiring the list.

It's backwards thinking to try and make the manufacturer pay money to sell you guns.

That's silly and we would do better to fight in our state capitals than to try and force

gun companies to comply with BS laws.

And hey, if you want your question answered right here on

TGC News, send it to me over on TheGunCollective.Com.

That is it for this week's show.

Volcanic Lightning: Because Exploding Mountains Aren't Bad Enough - Duration: 4:17.

[♪ INTRO]

"On the landward side, a fearful black cloud was rent by forked and quivering bursts of flame,

and parted to reveal great tongues of fire, like flashes of lightning magnified in size."

That's what Pliny the Younger, nephew of the naturalist Pliny the Elder, wrote

after watching Mount Vesuvius erupt and cover the city of Pompeii with ash in 79 CE.

And that line ends with the first known report of a phenomenon called volcanic lightning,

where lightning streaks across the black clouds of ash and smoke above an explosive eruption,

even without a thunderstorm in sight.

But despite centuries of scientific study, and millennia of first-hand observations,

we still don't fully understand why volcanic lightning happens in the first place.

Though it probably has something to do with all that ash moving through the air.

Volcanic lightning generally happens during explosive eruptions that release

huge ash clouds high into the atmosphere,

so the most popular explanation is that all that ash somehow causes the lightning.

Like we've talked about before here on SciShow, lightning in a regular thunderstorm happens

when water vapor, dust, and ice crystals rub against each other.

Electric charges jump to some molecules more easily than others,

so all that rubbing creates a huge charge imbalance,

which eventually gets evened out by a sudden burst of moving charge in the form a lightning bolt.

Scientists still disagree on some of the details, though,

since lightning can be hard to study directly.

But studying regular lightning is a piece of cake compared to studying volcanic lightning.

The explosive eruptions that cause it also tend to come with

noxious fumes, earthquakes, and clouds of super-hot ash.

But scientists, and photographers, are persistent.

And most of those scientists studying volcanic lightning think that it happens

directly because of those huge clouds of ash.

The idea is that the ash rubs together in the air just like water does in a normal thundercloud,

creating a similar sort of charge imbalance.

And once the imbalance is big enough, you get a bolt of lightning.

Laboratory experiments have reproduced the effect on a small scale,

and scientists have even been able to track ash mixing as the

charge builds up around it above an eruption.

Which seems like a pretty conclusive case that ash causes volcanic lightning,

but some researchers have said that we shouldn't be so quick to jump on the ashy bandwagon.

Since water causes regular lightning,

they think we should take another look at the water involved in an eruption.

The idea of water in a volcano might seem kind of weird at first, but enormous volumes

of water can be dissolved in the molten rock that bubbles to the surface during an eruption.

That water boils in the heat of the eruption, which could lead to water molecules rubbing

together in volcanic clouds just like they do in normal thunderstorms.

Or all that water could coat the ashy particles flying around,

changing how the clouds charge up.

And a growing group of scientists think that this is the primary source of volcanic lightning.

Now, claiming that water causes volcanic lightning isn't new; it goes back at least to the

late 1700s, when scientists knew far less about volcanoes than they do now.

But research in the last couple decades has breathed new life into the idea.

Many clouds leading to volcanic lightning seem to balloon out at similar altitudes

as normal, water-based clouds, which means that water is likely an important component

of them, and helps determine their behavior.

On top of that, charges tend to be distributed in those clouds

just like they are in normal thunderclouds.

So based on the evidence we have right now,

it seems like ash is the primary cause of most volcanic lightning,

with water and other conditions of the atmosphere playing something of a supporting role.

But like anything in science, that might change as we continue to learn more.

And if you were ever to find yourself in Pliny's position, near an eruption that seems

big enough to end the world, and then lightning starts flashing around you,

you should probably not stop to wonder if it's ash or steam to blame.

Just, you know, get out of there!

Because there have been some cases of volcanic lightning causing destruction

down here on the ground,

like the strikes during the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980 that caused forest fires.

There are even a few very rare cases of volcanic lightning killing people.

But even though some volcanic lightning can strike about a hundred kilometers

from the eruption, it usually stays much closer.

So if you're close enough to a volcano that you might be hit by lightning coming straight

down from the ash cloud, you probably have bigger concerns, anyway.

White Customers Forced To Pay Reparations, At Bar In Liberal Oregon After Nasty New Rule Enforced - Duration: 6:05.

White Customers Forced To Pay Reparations, At Bar In Liberal Oregon After Nasty New Rule

Enforced.

Portland, Oregon's motto is "Keep Portland Weird."

Looks like they've got that covered.

Cameron Whitten, 27, who is an activist there for slavery reparations, has created and in

fact, has tried to mandate a Reparations Happy Hour.

Get this white people are asked to give $10 to people of color at the bar so they can

drink at the event.

Those same white people are not invited to attend, because they want it to be a safe

space for black, brown and indigenous people.

They are claiming it's a symbolic gesture.

Many think it is insulting and just plain stupid.

The event was on May 21st at a local bar called Backyard Social.

It is now an inaugural event.

The event was promoted on social media where it stipulated the new rule: "Reparations

for black, brown and indigenous people.

Paid for by whites folks."

Let's just say that people on Twitter were not enthused by any of this.

The event description reads:

"This event is for white people, too.

"White people can show up and support by GIVING reparations.

Instead of physically attending, your presence will be felt through your active financial

support for healing, leadership, and community building within Portland's black, brown,

and indigenous community."

"Our first business sponsor, Backyard Social, has generously offered to host a 10 percent

day on May 21st, donating a percentage of their total sales to Brown Hope.

We encourage EVERYONE to show up and buy something you can come any time during business hours."

"$10 will support reparations for one community member, and you are strongly encouraged to

donate for more than one participant.

Monthly donations are very much needed to sustain the Reparations Happy Hours, and the

programs of Brown Hope.

You can make a one-time donation, or recurring contributions here: donorbox.org/brownhope."

Fox News described the reparations effort:

"The notion of full-scale reparations sought by some as compensation for the horrors of

slavery, Jim Crow and the large wealth gap between white and black U.S. households, was

supported by 58 percent of black people and 46 percent of Hispanic people in a 2016 poll."

"However, 68 percent of white Americans do not support reparations; when the topic

was brought up during the 2016 presidential campaign, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders said

it was "divisive" and unlikely to get through Congress."

"The economist Robert Browne once estimated a fair value for reparations of $1.4 trillion

to $4.7 trillion, and wrote that reparations should restore the black community to the

economic position, it would have had if it had not been subjected to slavery and discrimination."

Frankly, I don't feel I owe anyone anything having to do with slavery.

It was an awful practice, but the US was the first country to outlaw it.

Giving money to people who had nothing to do with slavery when you never had a part

in it is ludicrous.

This white guilt thing makes no sense to me and seems mentally imbalanced, just as having

a safe place for people to hide does.

I am not redistributing what wealth I have to those who have not earned it and have no

claim to it.

"White people can show up and support by GIVING reparations.

Instead of physically attending, your presence will be felt through your active financial

support for healing, leadership, and community building within Portland's black, brown,

and indigenous community," the event's listing proclaimed.

"It was only $10, but when I saw them I saw their eyes light up," Whitten told the

New York Times.

"What I saw there was that people felt like they were finally seen."

I think what she sees is the prospect of free drinks and attention by playing the victim

here.

Approximately 40 people attended the happy hour, while over 100 mostly white liberals

paid for it.

The shindig was thrown by local activist group, Brown Hope, according to The Oregonian.

Whitten also had seven white people come on board to help defend the group from any potential

interference from alt-right groups in the area.

"We do a lot of talking.

We do a lot of making excuses," Whitten told The Oregonian.

"But how often do we actually recognize and acknowledge someone's suffering?

We're so used to being denied any sort of justice that $10 is a respite," Whitten

said.

Free drinks because of your skin color?

I call that racism.

Bonus it not only upset white people, it offended people of color who are seriously going after

reparations for slavery.

It ticked everyone off.

"This belittles the whole argument for reparations.

It's not a joke or a happy hour.

It's a legitimate demand of an oppressed people who were ENSLAVED," wrote Chauncey

K. Robinson on Twitter.

"What in special hell," wrote twitter Kendra Jones.

"Reparations Happy Hour?

Really??

How about addressing inequalities in pay, housing and education?

You know, something that'll make a meaningful difference.

How about stop shooting or arresting us for just going about our business trying to live

our best life?"

There goes the Black Lives Matter crowd.

A second happy hour is being planned for June 20th at Portland bakery Back to Eden, where,

in early May, a black woman was apparently denied service after closing time, even though

bakery employees continued to serve several white people, who also entered the establishment

after closing.

The two employees have been fired.

I'm sure there is more to that story that you aren't hearing.

Chicks on the Right said, "You are not oppressed.

You are not a victim.

At least be honest about it and just admit you want free stuff."

I could not agree more.

What do you think about this?

Why R. Kelly's Streaming Numbers Aren't a Real Win for His Career - Duration: 2:09.

For Complex News, I'm Frazier.

The #MuteRKelly campaign is in full swing, which included R. Kelly's music being removed

from Spotify's editorial playlists and their Discover section.

It was a controversial, polarizing move, but one interesting stat came out this week regarding

R. Kelly's streaming numbers: they weren't actually affected.

Prior to Spotify's announcement, Kelly's music reportedly had 6,584,000 weekly streams

for the year.

From the timeframe of May 10 through May 16, Nielsen Music reports that Kelly grabbed 6,676,000

streams.

Keep in mind, these stats come from streaming services that include Spotify, Apple Music,

and Pandora, among others, but it was enough to prompt R. Kelly to gloat.

"It's too late, they should have did this sh*t 30 years ago.

I've got a million motherfuckers hating me, and 40 billion motherf**kers loving me."

Now R. Kelly isn't wrong in the sense that he's still got fans; but as writer Michael

Arceneaux pointed out in a recent article on Complex, that's primarily because R.

Kelly's been a veritable hit factory since the early '90s.

It's also one of the reasons why the #MuteRKelly campaign won't totally wipe him out of the

industry: Kelly has too much cache as the quote King of R&B built up to be effectively

wiped out, like a number of stars before him.

That said, as Arceneaux points out, #MuteRKelly won't totally wipe him out of the scene,

nor does it strive to do so.

"[I]t's not about forcibly making everyone permanently tune out R. Kelly.

What is possible, though, is turning a man long accused of being a predator into a public

pariah, effectively stripping him of the institutional support he should have stopped enjoying long

ago.

As for those who continue listening to R. Kelly's music no matter what, at the very

least, they can be called out for any public display of support of him and what that signifies."

R. Kelly is right in another sense: the public, music critics, and the industry at large should

have done something when the first allegations of him having sex with underage women came

to light.

From the Village Voice to Vibe magazine, these allegations and stories of holding women in

sex cults have hit the news cycle over the years, on multiple occasions.

The question is, what will it take for some fans or outlets to start pushing back, and

demanding more from the people that make music?

Time will tell, and from what it seens, the #MuteRKelly campaign is a marathon, not a

sprint.

People Who Fought to Survive! - Duration: 12:19.

In no particular order, here are a few of the toughest people who fought to survive!

8 - Adrian Carton de Wiart Surviving one war makes anyone tough.

Surviving four wars essentially makes that person superman!

Adrian Carton de Wiart fought and survived in 4 wars, including both world wars, while

being shot in the stomach, groin, head, hand, ankle, hip and leg.

He also survived two plane crashes.

Oh yeah, he also managed to escape from a Italian prison of war camp, where he finally

was able to escape on his fifth attempt.

Just to show how tough he is, he once TORE OFF his OWN fingers when a doctor refused

to amputate them!

Just…..wow.

In World Wore 1 he was severely wounded on eight occasions.

Having previously lost an eye and a hand in battle, Carton de Wiart, as commanding officer,

was seen by his men pulling the pins off grenades out with his teeth and hurling them with his

one good arm during a battle.

While recuperating from all the injuries, Carton de Wiart received a glass eye, but

it caused him such discomfort that he allegedly threw it from a taxi and decided just to wear

an eye patch.

During the Second Battle of Ypres, the Germans launched an artillery barrage in which Carton

de Wiart's left hand was shattered.

Yep, that's when he tore off two of his fingers because the doctor refused to amputate

them.

Amazingly, Carton de Wiart lived to the old age of 83!

What's the toughest thing YOU'VE ever done?

Let us know in the comment section!

And do us a big favor and hit that like button!

7 - Mauro Prosperi Imagine having to run an ultramarathon.

That's already painful enough.

But imagine having to run a marathon in the desert!

The Marathon des Sables has been called the toughest foot race on Earth.

This six-day annual ultramarathon covers 156 miles — roughly the same as six regular

marathons!

It takes place in the Sahara Desert, specifically southern Morocco.

This is the event that pushed Italian police officer and former Olympic pentathlete Mauro

Prosperi to the limit.

He decided to take on a new challenge and entered the race in 1994.

To make a long story short, everything was fine until the fourth day.

Elevated temperatures of 115 degrees fahrenheit and high winds brought on an unexpected sandstorm

that caused organizers to pause the race for the day.

While other competitors waited out the storm, Mauro decided to continue because he didn't

want to lose his spot in the race.

However, that proved to not be the smartest decision.

Because he couldn't tell where he was going in the storm, he completely got lost.

After 24 hours, he ran out of food and water.

In an attempt to stay hydrated, Prosperi sucked on wet wipes, licked morning dew off rocks,

and drank his own pee while it remained relatively clear.

He ate bird eggs, beetles, bats and lizards to survive!

After 9 days alone in the desert, he was finally found.

Despite starting in Morocco, Prosperi had traveled 180 miles from where he disappeared,

unknowingly wandering into Algeria.

Prosperi had lost 40 pounds in nine days!

Prosperi re-entered the race in 2012 finishing in 131st place, finally able to complete what

he had started almost 20 years earlier.

6 - Anna Renault Like many people, Anna Renault is a cancer

survivor.

The difference with Anna is that she's had cancer NINE times.

At 27, Anna was diagnosed with her first cancer, uterine cancer.

However, she wasn't treated right away because her doctor told her that she was too young

to have that kind of cancer.

But, she knew something was wrong, so she decided to get a second opinion, one that

saved her life.

In 1982, she was diagnosed with skin cancer, which was of course also treated successfully.

Other cancer diagnoses and surgeries followed: colon cancer, a second colon cancer, ovarian

cancer, a second ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and metastatic breast cancer.

Many times, Anna lived through dangerous surgeries.

In one surgery, she almost bled to breath because the doctor failed to notice that she

had a bleeding disorder.

Anna was able to amazingly fight through and survive each cancer.

Despite everything she's experienced, Renault stays positive about her life.

Whenever she's not spending time with her grandkids, she takes time out to write editorials

for her local paper and also to travel speaking about her experiences.

5 - Reshma Begum Simply surviving when a building crumbles

on top of you is already enough.

However, having to stay alive in the rubble for over 2 weeks requires a literal miracle.

That's exactly what happened to Reshma Begum.

She's a seamstress that fought for her survival for over two weeks after the building she

worked at collapsed.

As crews scrambled to rescue as many people as possible, no rescue workers were able to

hear her cries for help, even though she could hear rescuers closeby.

Days went by as crews kept looking for survivors and clearing away wreckage.

Fortunately, Reshma had a few water bottles to spare and she was able to find dry food

from her coworker's bags.

As work crews were preparing to bulldoze away the final wreckage SIXTEEN days later, Begum

was able to use a steel rod to bang on a pipe to finally get rescuer's attention.

Rescue workers worked to cut away wreckage, and Reshma was finally rescued and immediately

taken to the hospital.

Despite being severely dehydrated and emotionally exhausted, Reshma was found in stable condition

for all that she endured.

Through sheer determination, Reshma was able to survive for 16 days trapped underneath

a building!

4 - Eric Nerhus We're not statisticians here, but we'd

estimate that anytime you're in the mouth of a great white shark that's still alive

in the wild, your chances of survival is probably less than 1%.

Eric Nerhus is an Australian diver who SOMEHOW fought his way out of the jaws of a great

white shark it had his head and upper body in his mouth!

Eric was diving for abalone, a highly prized shellfish in Asia that's plentiful in Australia's

temperate waters.

He was with his son and a group of friends off Cape Howe on a stretch of coast between

Victoria and New South Wales.

The visibility in the water was limited, so he didn't see the shark launch its attack.

However, he felt the shark's bite and the shark started shaking him, and that's when

he knew he was in the mouth of the shark.

He frantically hit the shark in the head as the force of its bite crushed his face mask

and broke his nose.

The shark then took a second bite, clamping its jaws around Eric's body and leaving deep

cuts on both sides of Eric's torso as he struggled to break free!

Eric said that he was trying to punch the shark in the eye, desperately trying to free

himself from its mouth.

Surprisingly, the shark let Eric go!

Eric swam up to the surface, got pulled out of the water by his son, and was immediately

rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Talk about being tough AND lucky!

3 - Anna Bagenholm Doctor Anna Bagenholm decided to go skiing

one afternoon after work with two of her coworkers.

Everything was going fine until she suddenly lost control.

She fell head first onto a layer of ice on a frozen stream near a waterfall, and landed

on her back.

However, unfortunately for her, a hole began to open up and she was pulled into the freezing

cold water, with her body being trapped underneath the ice!

Her coworkers tried their best to pull her out, but had no luck.

Fortunately, she was able to find an air pocket underneath the ice.

After waiting and fighting to survive for around 40 minutes in the cold water, Anna's

body had too much and went into cardiac arrest.

As rescuers arrived and worked to cut her out of the ice, she stayed underneath the

ice for ANOTHER forty minutes!

After she was finally pulled out of the ice, she was rushed to the hospital, but by that

time, her heart had been stopped for over two hours.

She had a core body temperature of 56.7 degrees Fahrenheit, the lowest ever recorded for a

human at that time.

However, doctors weren't going to give up on her just yet, as they felt that patients

should be warmed up first before declaring them deceased.

And they were right!

After working for nine hours, the medical team managed to get her functional again.

Despite some nerve injuries in her hands and feet, Anna suffered no brain damage and made

a full recovery.

2 - Yossi Ghinsberg The year was 1981 when Yossi Ghinsberg set

out on a trek in the Bolivian Amazon with fellow travelers Marcus Stamm, Kevin Gale,

and a German guide who had promised to lead all of them to a lost tribe and a bunch of

gold.

They were sailing on a raft down the Tuichi River, but the prospect of having to go through

the rapids in San Pedro Canyon had the group in conflict.

The guide was terrified of the rapids as he couldn't swim, so Stamm and the guide split

up.

Stamm initially wanted to travel by raft, but they persuaded him to walk out with the

guide.

The two men were never seen again.

As Ghinsberg and Gale's raft got close to a waterfall, they lost control and became

separated.

Gale made it to shore but Ghinsberg floated downstream and over the waterfall.

Ghinsberg spent four days traveling upriver trying to find Gale and finally came to the

realization that he was stranded alone in the jungle.

Gale was actually rescued by local fishermen after being stranded for five days.

Ghinsberg spent the next three weeks lost and separated from his friends, without supplies

and equipment, in an uncharted part of the Amazon.

His body was quickly deteriorating.

He had giant red ants walking all over and biting his body.

His foot began to rot from fungi.

Ghinsberg was desperately eating anything edible to survive.

Three weeks after he was declared missing, he was finally rescued, right before the rescue

team was about to give up!

Ghinsburg's story inspired the movie, Jungle, starring Daniel Radcliffe.

What's the longest you think you'd be able to last in the wild?!

Let us know in the comment section!

1 - Alex Lewis Imagine just living your life one day and

all of a sudden just getting extremely sick.

This is pretty much what happened to Alex Lewis.

Alex, 33, collapsed and was rushed to the emergency room.

His only symptoms at that point were essentially that of the common cold.

However, within a few hours of his collapse, his vital organs were already shutting down,

and Alex was put on life support!

What exactly was going on?

His nightmare ordeal began back in November 2013 when he caught a common cold.

Tests revealed he had contracted Group A strep, an incredibly rare bacterial infection.

His chance of survival was less than 3%.

But Alex was able to fight hard to survive.

Alex spent a week in a coma as the deadly bacteria essentially destroyed much of his

body.

Alex's feet, fingertips, arms, lips, nose and part of his ears turned black and doctors

were forced to amputate both his legs above the knee and his left arm.

He also lost part of his nose and his lips.

Alex was able to make it through, but he had to learn to do many things over, such as eating,

and also having to repair the relationship he had with his son, since his son wasn't

able to recognize him any more.

Alex is still having to pay for all the prosthetics that he needs, and if you want to help, the

link to help out Alex is in the description for this video!

Despite his ordeal, Alex has maintained an incredible attitude and outlook on life.

He's still trying to set up his own interior design business and he continues to work on

his trust.

He says that he couldn't be happier.

He describes his ordeal as the the most tragic but brilliant event of his life, and that

he owed the illness a lot as he's stopped taking things

for granted.

Here's what's next!

This is how Airbnb's oldest interns travel the world on a budget | CNBC Profiles - Duration: 3:22.

We've been to 70 countries and I think that's a lot of countries,

and then Michael reminds me that there's almost 200 in the UN, so okay.

Hi I'm Michael and I'm Debbie.

We're the senior nomads.

I knew it was crazy when we were asked to do an interview for

Travel & Leisure on extreme traveling.

I was like... why do they want to talk to us?

I guess we are extreme travelling at this point.

Money was a concern.

We have a retirement nest egg, we would call it, a little, a fund.

We need to spend it very carefully.

I always wondered at the beginning, could we do this financially?

And five years later, we are doing just fine.

I had no idea what Airbnb was.

I had no idea you could rent homes all over the world.

And so if it weren't for Airbnb we wouldn't have even embarked on this journey.

Michael did a lot of spreadsheets, a lot of budgeting.

And then we started to look at Airbnbs in places that we might like to visit,

and we could see that it matched up with our budget.

We set a budget of $90 a night to spend for our Airbnbs wherever we are in the world.

Sometimes we have a little more, sometimes a little less, but on average it's $90.

We've traded experiences for things.

So we don't buy things, because we don't have room in our suitcase

to put anything, they're already full.

But we've gotten so bad that now if I see a greeting card I want to give Michael,

I take a picture of it and I say, "I'd like to give you this greeting card"

and show him the picture on my phone.

We always try to see the free things in a city, and that's the thing locals see anyway.

They're not the ones that are going to the tourist experiences.

So we get tips from our hosts on how to see the city in a slightly different way.

We're just trying to live locally in the neighbourhood as best as you can.

And it's to be said, because we eat most of our meals at home

so we're grocery shopping, then we're washing dishes.

It hasn't been hard to keep track of our expenses, because we do a daily journal.

And we write in the journal every day what we did and we write down what we spent

and we tape in the receipts and it's become so routine, that we enjoy doing it.

And Michael keeps meticulous spreadsheets, so much so that

he even keeps our game scores in a spreadsheet.

We usually stay in the centre of a city, because we like to walk.

so we walk a lot, and I think that's helped us with our health.

We walk way more than we do when we're home with the car.

We have such a nice relationship with Airbnb.

Let's ask them if they would consider having us as interns?

And they said yes, it was simple as that, really.

It was just wonderful, because when you get older,

you're worried about - Gee, can I make a difference anymore?

A lot of people that are older feel like they still can make a contribution.

I think this has been really healthy, in that we have discovered

that we can live in smaller spaces, we can live with fewer things.

I think, I hope, that when we return to Seattle, when we finally settle down

that we'll have learned a lot of lessons about just how much

we need to spend to be comfortable.

3rd Corporate War - Cyberpunk 2077 Lore - Duration: 7:46.

Connection: Night City

Welcome to the MadqueenShow hub

I am your host B-62

Today we enter the Net

The Third Corporate War, that started in February 2016, was another milestone in Corporate Warfare

because it was fought almost entirely in the net

Almost

Hostilities began when financial examiners from the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce

uncovered a confidence scheme being perpetrated

by certain investment counselors at Merrill, Asukaga,

and Finch against private investors, using the Rothstein Fund, a subsidiary of the Bank

of New York, as leverage

They notified the District Attorney's office, who began an investigation the next day

The Rothstein Fund, angered by Merrill, Asukaga and Finch duplicity and not wishing to get

dragged down in the investigation, turned everything they had over to the DA's office

They also hired local street netrunners to begin probing Merrill's data fortress in

search for the truth

Merrill's administration took this move from a former ally as a direct attack

They immediately countered by stepping up Net security and unleashed their netrunners

to launch an assault on the Rothstein Funds, first hitting Rothstein's financial targets

Then the Merrill, Asukaga and Finch strike teams turned their attention to actually destroying

Rothstein computer systems, which escalated the fighting

In life it is important to be one step ahead

that's how we created the fuel that moves your life

giving humanity hope

and we keep moving forward to a better future for humanity

Our constant investigation in biotechnology,

genetic engineering, and biochemistry

helps us help you live a fuller life

Biotechnica

One step ahead

For several days, the situation was a confused melee

Data fortresses became armed camps as everyone nervously watched to see what would happen next

Netwatch responded by limiting net access and cracking down on computer crime, making

several sweeps resulting in numerous arrests and flatlines

Both the Rothstein Fund and Merril, Asukaga, and Finch decided to take it to the meat world,

so they began hiring mercenaries

During a 12-hour period, short pitched battles were fought in both, Low Earth Orbit and Earth's

surface, all to destroy the physical locations of the enemy's net communications gear

These battles ended with a considerable loss of life and millions of dollars in material destruction

The next six months consisted of endless net raids, most of them inconsequential and indecisive

Indeed, more damage was done during the 12 hours of actual firefights

that commo stuff is expensive, you know?

than during the entire remainder of the conflict

When it was over, in November 2016, the Rothstein Fund ceased to exist as a single entity

Merrill, Asukaga, and Finch turned the corpses of two of their executives who had started

the whole mess over to the Los Angeles District Attorney

They also got stuck with the bill for damages done in Low Earth Orbit and on Earth

By this time, corporate conflict shocked no one, although a number of analysts were surprised

that the war lasted as long as it did

The way the war was fought, being based mostly here in the net, was rather unusual, and it sparked

a couple-dozen theories by various pundits that perhaps this was the new way corporate

wars would be fought

Others maintained that, much like the infantry in military doctrine, solos will never go

out of fashion

Thanks for entering the net with us, I hope we'll see your avatars again, good evening

and long life to Rache Bartmoss

Who killed Bobby Kennedy? His son RFK Jr. doesn't believe it was Sirhan Sirhan. #2 - Duration: 9:39.

Who killed Bobby Kennedy? His son RFK Jr. doesn't believe it was Sirhan Sirhan. #2

'He never got near my father'.

At trial, defense lawyer Grant Cooper made the decision not to contest the charge that Sirhan fired the fatal shot and instead tried to persuade the jury not to impose the death penalty by arguing Sirhan had "diminished capacity" and didn't know what he was doing.

It is a standard tactic by attorneys in death-penalty cases, but Cooper, who died in 1990, was widely criticized for not investigating the case before conceding guilt.

Sirhan is now 74 and approaching 50 years behind bars.

After California's courts abolished the death penalty in 1972, he was first made eligible for parole in 1986 but has been rejected repeatedly.

In 2016, Schrade spoke on Sirhan's behalf at his parole hearing and apologized for not coming forward sooner to advocate for Sirhan's release and exoneration.

California inmates are not permitted to give media interviews, and Sirhan did not respond to a letter from The Post.

But his brother, Munir Sirhan, said Sirhan still hopes to be released and that his defense team probably hurt his case more than helped it.

There's plenty of damning evidence against Sirhan.

He confessed to the killing at trial, although he claims this was done on his attorney's instruction.

He took hours of target practice with his pistol earlier in the day, and he took the gun into the Ambassador Hotel that night.

He had been seen at a Kennedy speech at the Ambassador two days earlier.

He had a newspaper clipping critical of Kennedy in his pocket and had written "RFK must die" in notebooks at home, although he said he didn't remember doing that.

And he waited in the pantry for about 30 minutes, according to witnesses who said he asked if Kennedy would be coming through there.

But questions about the case arose almost immediately in Los Angeles, resulting in hearings and reinvestigations as early as 1971 by the district attorney, the police chief, the county board of supervisors and the county superior court.

Many of them focused on the ballistics of the case, starting with Noguchi's finding that Kennedy had been shot from behind, which Sirhan's lawyer didn't raise in his defense.

In addition, lead crime scene investigator DeWayne Wolfer testified at trial that a bullet taken from Kennedy's body and bullets from two of the wounded victims all matched Sirhan's gun.

But other experts who examined the three bullets said they had markings from different guns and different bullet manufacturers.

An internal police document concluded that "Kennedy and Weisel bullets not fired from same gun" — Weisel was the wounded ABC News producer — and "Kennedy bullet not fired from Sirhan's revolver.".

This prompted a Los Angeles judge in 1975 to convene a panel of seven forensic experts, who examined the three bullets and refired Sirhan's gun.

The panel said no match could be made between the three bullets, which appeared to be fired from the same gun, and Sirhan's revolver.

They found Wolfer had done a sloppy job with the ballistics evidence and urged further investigation.

In addition, witnesses said bullet holes were found in the door frames of the Ambassador's pantry, and photos showed investigators examining the holes in the hours after the shooting.

Between the three bullets that hit Kennedy and the bullets that hit the five wounded victims, Wolfer had accounted for all eight of Sirhan's shots.

Bullets in the doors would indicate a second gun.

Wolfer later said the holes and the metal inside were not bullets, and the door frames were destroyed after the trial.

Though Los Angeles authorities had promised transparency in the case, the police and prosecutors refused to release their files until 1988, when they produced a flood of new evidence for researchers.

Among the material was an audiotape, first unearthed by CNN journalist Brad Johnson, which had been inadvertently made by Polish journalist Stanislaw Pruszynski in the Ambassador Hotel's ballroom, and turned over to police in 1969.

Pruszynski's microphone had been on the podium where Kennedy spoke, and TV footage shows him detaching it and moving toward the pantry as the shooting happens.

In 2005, audio engineer Philip Van Praag said the tape revealed that about 13 shots had been fired.

He said he used technology similar to that of the ShotSpotter used by police to alert them to gunshots, and which differentiates gunshots from firecrackers or other loud bangs.

Van Praag said recently that different guns create different resonances and that he was able to establish that two guns were fired, that they fired in different directions, and that some of the shot "impulses" were so close together they couldn't have been fired by the same gun.

He said he could not say "precisely" 13 shots but certainly more than the eight contained by Sirhan's gun.

"There were too many bullets," Robert F.

Kennedy Jr. said.

"You can't fire 13 shots out of an eight-shot gun.".

British author Mel Ayton wrote "The Forgotten Terrorist," which posits that Sirhan killed Kennedy because he supported sending military firepower to Israel — the Sirhans were Christian Palestinians forced from their Jerusalem home by Israel in 1948.

He said Van Praag had misinterpreted the Pruszynski tape and that other experts who examined it show only eight "spikes," one for each gunshot.

Ayton also cited numerous eyewitnesses who said they heard at most eight shots.

Ayton and investigative reporter Dan Moldea, who also wrote a book about the assassination, argue that Sirhan's gun could have reached Kennedy's back.

No witnesses saw the actual shots fired in the chaos of the pantry, and Moldea noted that Kennedy almost certainly turned and tried to protect himself after the first shot, which some said was preceded by Sirhan yelling, "Kennedy, you son of a b__!".

"What were Kennedy's last words?" Moldea asked during an interview.

"'How's Paul?' How would Kennedy know Paul had been injured if he had not been turned around.

He turned around when Sirhan rushes towards him, yelling 'you son of a b__ Kennedy.' Kennedy's not going to just stand there.

He turns his back defensively.".

Moldea theorized that Schrade fell forward into Kennedy, pinning him against a table and pushing him into the muzzle of Sirhan's gun, enabling him to fire four contact shots into Kennedy.

One shot went through his jacket without hitting Kennedy, one went into his back and stopped below his neck, one went through his armpit and one went into his brain.

But Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

doesn't find those theories persuasive.

♫ Suga: My seat is business you economy always behind me and kissing my ass ♫

♫ Suga: Next up is Billboard ♫

♫ Suga: Brazil to New York I'm about to burn this passport ♫

Suga: I can produce songs,

Suga: So I'm sure I can produce songs better than the other members.

Suga: I think it takes me about a day or two to finish a song.

Suga: The bigger the dream, the better.

Suga: We want to rank No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 chart

Suga: Also No. 1 on the 200 chart.

Suga: We want to go to the Grammy's, too.

Suga: We want to do a stadium tour, too.

Suga: We want to become the most influential artist in the world.

J-Hope: Suga-hyung's like that.

J-Hope: He acts like he doesn't take care of the members,

J-Hope: but he actually kindly takes care of them.

- Oh, acts cold but is a real softie inside? J-Hope: Yes, it's something like that.

J-Hope: Even when he gives water to you, he doesn't look at you.

- Why are you like that? Suga: What?

Suga: The song that's playing right now is Epik High's "Fly".

Suga: It's a song I'm very grateful for because it led me to this music called hip hop.

Suga: In 2006, while I was still in elementary school,

Suga: I was like, "Yeah, I'm going to rap, too!"

Suga: And that claim became my dream,

Suga: my everything, my life,

Suga: And it created the me before you today.

Suga: I- I was really odd [as a kid]. - You were?

Suga: Since I was young, I really liked machines and stuff. - Machines?

Suga: Yes. Computers, machines, things like that. - Assembling things?

Suga: Yes, I liked assembling things like equipment...

Suga: I did it because I liked music.

Suga: After buying equipment and doing things, I started creating MIDI files...

Suga: I don't know, I can't remember. I can't remember why I started doing it.

Suga: But as I started getting older, I kept doing it.

Suga: I've just been doing music since I was young.

Suga: [My grades were] right in the middle.

Suga: I was very secure, since I was young, with my dreams of doing music.

Suga: My parents... my parents, of course, once opposed doing music.

Suga: They told me not to do it anymore and threw away all of my papers of my lyrics

Suga: So I said "Yes, I want to study", and behind them I would do music.

Suga: I used to be afraid of big crowds.

Suga: Ever since I was a trainee, I had that sort of fear

Suga: When I'm out doing casual stuff,

Suga: I still feel anxious about crowds.

Suga: This was when I was 15, 16. If I ate a meal,

Suga: I didn't have any money for the bus.

Suga: If I eat black bean noodles that costs 2000 won, I can't take the bus.

Suga: Even though I sold my songs, I wouldn't get paid.

Suga: I'd get ripped off...

Suga: And... then I [came to Seoul solely for the music.]

Suga: So because of that, at first,

Suga: I suffered many hardships at Daegu

Suga: Doing music, I suffered a lot and did this and that and got to come up to Seoul.

Suga: I, at first, didn't think I'd be an idol.

Suga: Just a producer or something like that.

Suga: Because then, it wasn't an audition to pick idol group members or anything.

Suga: It was because because I got second place in a rap battle

Suga: So I thought that I was going to become a producer

Suga: or a composer or someone who made songs.

Suga: But they suddenly made me dance.

Suga: So I became an idol.

Suga: At first, I didn't not have bad thoughts [about being an idol].

Suga: This...

Suga: I tried both, doing music in Daegu and being a trainee and an idol up here.

Suga: But after doing it, I realized this is much harder.

- Which one? Suga: Being and idol

- Oh, an idol.

Suga: Seriously, how are idols able to live like this?

Suga: But now, I don't hate doing this. I like it so much.

- You like what you're doing now. Suga: Yes.

Suga: Always, right before the album gets released,

Suga: I think about a lot of things.

Suga: In reality, before an album gets released, I tend to get worried a lot.

Suga: I contemplate about things, too.

Suga: Rankings, album sales, and charts may be important.

Suga: but I think there are many things that are way more important than that.

Suga: I had that mindset even when we first started to make music.

Suga: It would be nice if a lot of people have fun

Suga: and are happy when listening to our music.

♫ Suga: It sucks when you don't have anything you want to do ♫

♫ Suga: I know it's pathetic to not have something as common as a dream, i know ♫

♫ Suga: You said to do as I'm told, ♫

♫ Suga: that all would be fine when I go to university ♫

♫ Suga: I'm the asshole for believing those words ♫

♫ Suga: I live because I can't die ♫

♫ Suga: Give me some drinks (RM: Give me some drinks) ♫

♫ Suga: I want to get drunk today please don't stop me ♫

♫ Suga: Anything will be fine (J-Hope: Anything will be fine) ♫

♫ Suga: Alcohol is a luxury for a bum but I can't stand it sober ♫

♫ Suga: Everyone else is running, why am I the only one here? ♫

- The 2017 Melon Music Award Hot Trend Award

"Wine (If I Get Drunk Today)" by Suran and produced by Suga!

Suga: Ah, yes, uh...

Suga: This is my first time receiving an award [without the other members]...

Suga: Yes, uh...

Suga: Uh... [I'm] very nervous...

Suga: Ah, thank you very very much, and...

Suga: Yeah... [I'll deliver] more great songs going forward to you.

Suga: Yeah, noona please, also deliver your speech.

- Truthfully, the goal that all seven of you had during debut was to win the Newcomer Award

BTS: Yes, that's correct.

- Get first place [at a music show] and have your own concert

- You've achieved them all.

- If BTS was to make a new goal, what would it be?

Suga: I have one.

V: Street- - Freedom?

Suga: No, no, no.

Suga: I want our music to play on the streets

You write the songs, and they're very personal lyrics

You talk about things like mental health, and that's important to you, right?

To set yourself aside, not just do pop music, but to talk about issues.

Suga: I think we have created in English.

Suga: With different languages, you have different languages.

Suga: But I think we all share the same message.

Suga: I think that's why our songs appeal

Suga: to people who speak Korean and people who don't.

Suga: Hope you become successful with whatever you do and realize all your dreams

Suga: Those who do not have a dream, it's okay if you don't have a dream.

Suga: You just have to be happy.

♫ Suga: In our concert, we never have no empty seat ♫

♫ Suga: I do it. I do it. You're a tasteless ratatouille. ♫

♫ Suga: Fuck you, I'm a pain in yo' ass too far from the sugar ♫

♫ Suga: To be honest "SSaihanuwar" is embarrassing now I sell half million a year ♫

♫ Suga: This k-pop category ain't enough size for me whoo ♫

♫ Suga: Yea if you wanna go faster then make a reservation for a first class ♫

DIY Summer Magnets | How To Make Magnets For a Fridge or a Locker - Duration: 3:55.

Hey whats up you guys? My name is Emily and in this video I'm going to show you

how to make summer magnets in three different ways.

Lets get on with the video!

For the first magnet, you want to get a piece of cardboard

and you want to draw out a Popsicle on the cardboard.

Then you want to cut it out.

When you're done cutting it out you can paint the Popsicle

any color that you want and you want to wait for it to dry.

When the paint is dry, you can get a Popsicle stick

and if you need you cut the stick so it can fit onto the Popsicle.

I cut my Popsicle stick with wire cutters but you could just break it with your hands.

Then you can glue the stick onto the back of the Popsicle

and then you can glue a magnet on the back.

If you want you can paint a face onto the Popsicle

and you can tie a bow out of ribbon and glue a bow onto it.

For the second magnet, you want to roll out one or more colors of Polymer clay

that's similar to any color of fruit in between two pieces of parchment paper.

You can also use wax paper.

Then you want to cut the shape of the fruit

that you want to make out of the clay

and make sure it's bigger than the magnet your going to use.

I made a strawberry so I made the fruit out of red clay and the leaves out of green clay.

When you're done cutting out your fruit you can smooth out the edges with your finger.

Then you can attach any details like the leaves to the fruit.

When you're done with your fruit

you can lay it out on a piece of tin foil or a piece of parchment paper

on a baking tray and then you can put your clay onto it.

Then you can bake the clay at 275 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.

You do want to check the clay's instructions before baking the clay.

When the clay is done baking, you want to take the clay

out of the oven and you want wait for it to cool off.

When the clay has cooled off you can paint more details onto the fruit.

I used a pencil as a paintbrush to paint the yellow seeds onto the strawberry.

When the paint is dry or when the clay has cooled off

you can glue on a magnet onto the back.

For the last magnet, you want to draw a image of anything that you want onto a piece of paper

and you want to make sure you make it big because your image will shrink.

Then you can trace the image on a piece of Shrinky Dink plastic with a permanent marker.

You can also color the image now or you can wait until after baking it.

When you're done tracing your image you can cut it out.

When you're done cutting it out you want to put onto a baking sheet with parchment paper or tin foil.

Then you can put it in the oven at 325 degrees Fahrenheit

and wait for the plastic to curl

and flatten back out and wait 30 more seconds

until taking the Shrinky Dinks out of the oven.

Make sure you check the Shrinky Dink instructions before baking.

When you're done baking your Shrinky Dinks you can take it out of the oven

and then you can quickly flatten the plastic with a piece of cardboard.

When the Shrinky Dink has cooled off you can paint it.

When the paint is dry you can glue a magnet on the back.

and that's how you make these summer magnets!

In the comments down below let me know what you think about these magnets

and if you like this video give this video a thumbs up

and subscribe to see more DIYs.

I will see you in the next video. Bye!
