Top 10 iPhone 9 Leaks & Rumors - Duration: 9:01.How's it going Youtube I am Landon Dowlatsingh and welcome to a brand new most amazing top
10 video, if you guys have not already why don't you go and check out our most amazing
top 5 channel right over here we have a great host over there.
I will also link to the channel down below the channel is almost at 50 million views.
It's a channel I created a few years ago and finally its starting to really take off.
Ok so enough of all that, we all know the iPhone 8 has been some what of a let down.
I always buy the newest iPhones on opening day.
But this was the first years since the iPhone 3 that I just don't care for it.
There is nothing really to upgrade from the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 8.
So now I am starting to get curious to what the iPhone 9 might have.
So Ive been searching and reading about iphone 9 rumors and leaks.
And I found a ton of things for you guys.
So this right here is the top 10 iphone 9 leaks & Rumors.
All the information I was able to find are from patients apple has filed for over the
years they might be applied to the new phone, there are a ton of insider leaks, there are
companies that take a deep dive into finding out information about apple as well.
So Starting off this list at number 10 we have, lets talk about if there will even be
an iPhone 9.
Apple along with the iPhone 8 has released the iPhone X the iPhone 10 to represent the
10th anniversary phone because the iPhones have been around for 10 yrs now.
So what happened to the iPhone 9.
Some people believe that in 2018 the iPhone 9 will come out but others believe that iPhone
will be skipping the 9 and just come out with the iPhone 11.
I am thinking they skip the 9 and come out with the 11 as well just because it just sounds
like a better sell.
How do people buying the iPhone x edition want to give up that phone and buy the iPhone
9.
It might be a much better upgrades phone but physiologically it just feels like a down
grade.
Number 9.
Its rumored that the iPhone 9 if that is the next phone will have a much larger screen
than we are accustomed to.
Right now the iPhone 6, 7 and 8 all have a 4.7 inch display on these base models and
for the plus edition the phones are 5.5 inches.
Well the new iPhone 9 might be at 5.85 inches for the base model which is already bigger
than the plus phone and for the iPhone 9 plus it might have a 6.46 inch display screen.
This will become the biggest phone screen on the market.
Since we are talking about screen at number 8, there are rumors about the iPhone 9 maybe
having curved edges just like the Samsung galaxy phone.
This is a popular picture going around right now.
This phone looks very futuristic but I am not convinced this phone is even possible
to produce at this moment it has 100 percent screen and it curves with the bottom and the
top of the phone with curve edges as well.
Apple is always behind on all the technology so for what the iPhone 9 will possibly look
like all we have to do is take a look at what Samsung and google are doing.
The new google pixel 2 phone just came out not to long ago and it has two different colors
on the back and a lot of people seem to really like that so apple might also copy this and
have two colors on the back.
Also here is another picture that has been passed around for a while now.
People are thinking this could also be a design idea of apple where instead of curve edges
just to have a sharp edge so it can display more.
Moving into number 7 we have long- range wireless charging.
Apple has just introduced wireless charging although that technology has been around for
quite some time now.
When you want to charge your phone you have to place it on this charging doc for it to
charge.
The biggest problem found with this, is the fact now you cant use your phone the same
time it is charging it least with the cord you can plug in your iPhone and still use
it at the same time because I know sometimes its hard to not be on your phone.
But now their might be long- range wireless charging where you can be a few feet away
and still have your phone charge up.
Imagine this techonology was in cars as well and who ever has the iPhone 9 when ever they
come in your car you get a charge.
Their might be a time where we don't care about battery life spans on these devices
because everywhere you go your phone will just charge up.
Alright number 6.
For those who really care about long life batteries like me apple might be introducing
a L-shape battery to allow the battery in the device to become larger therefore it will
be able to hold a bigger charge.
Also their has been talks over the years about stacked battery cells.
This would increase the thickness of the phones by a little bit but now you can double up
on your battery.
Imagine only having to charge your phone every other day.
This would be living changing for me.
Stacking the batteries might also change the overall design concept.
2018 might be the year Apple finally focusing on the battery life span.
Number 5.
Apparently apple fans has been requests a Apple Pencil compatibility for a while now.
I can see situations where it would be helpful but I know Samsung did this already with the
Samsung Note but I don't think I have ever seen anyone use their stylist pens for anything.
We have just gotten use to using our fingers and if its really small things we have to
click on we just focus on it, we bring the phones super close to use and push what we
have to push.
I don't think I would want to whip out a stylist pen.
And I bet I would just loose it everytime.
Apple has already taken so much of my money already.
Number 4.
One of the most talked about things on the iPhone X right now is the fact that its not
completely bezel less.
The speaker and the front facing camera can be seen on the bezel.
There are other phones out there that has a complete screen and people seem to want
this feature on there iPhones.
So hopefully Apple listens to use on this one and can create a much smooth looking phones
not only does this phone have to perform for us but it has to look nice as well.
So with the iPhone 9 rumored to have a bigger screen it should get rid of the awkward bezel
part on the front of the phone.
Number 3.
Ok we all know the camera on phones have become very important I know for my I use my phone
as a vlogging camera and I need the camera to be a lot better.
Apple hasn't changed from its 12 megapixels in a very long time but it might be time for
the big upgrade in the camera software.
Apple always chooses what aspect of the phone to better improve because they is millions
and even billions of dollars worth of techonology put into different aspects of the device.
The camera seems to be forgotten about and it might be time they have a megapixel boost.
There are reports showing that apple has placed a big order for smartphone lens modules greater
than 12 megapixels from a company in Taiwan.
Number 2, The processing in this phone will be the fastest in any phones on the market.
Apple is rumored to use the apple a12 chip.
It will have a 30 percent boost in CPU performance.
A Taiwan semiconductor manufacturing company will be behind the A12 Bionic chip.
Having this chip in place is rumored to double the graphics performace.
This chip will be deisgned to meet the power it will need to perform smoothly and it will
use less power meaning your phones can last a bit longer.
This chip will also have a smarter neural engine which means the A12 chip a specialized
hardware built for a set of machine learning algorithms.
This chip will be to develop information on its own at a higher rate.
This should be mind blowing technology but we will see.
Finally at number 1, I think this is a big thing for me so I left this till the end.
Apple has had a problem with ever saying their phones are water proof.
We always hear the saying water resistant.
Currently the iPhones are a iP 67 rating.
So what does that mean.
The IP stands for international protection marking, the first number so the 6 represents
the resistance to dust.
The second number so the 7 in this case represents the resistance to moisture which we often
say how resistant is it to water.
So the 7 means it is actually not water proof.
But it can handle being a little bit wet for up to 30 minutes.
I've put my phone in the water many times and the speaker always messed up and you cant
even use your phone at all.
So the first number we talked about was a 6 that is the highest level you can get to
against dust but when it comes to liquids the number goes up all the way to 9k.
If apple is able to take the IP rating to the next level so a IP 68 that means we can
now put our phones in the water for 30 minutes up to 1.5 meters.

Harvard students come face to face with refugees - Duration: 2:34.The portal is a project of Shared Studios which is a nonprofit and they
have portals all around the world, so today we're connecting with Amman, Jordan
and there is a very large Syrian refugee population near where this portal is
located there. My students have been studying the Syrian conflict
particularly and it's wonderful they have the portal here for our students
and our faculty and staff and people from around the university to have an
opportunity to interact with people live and in-person.
full-body experience.
We are from Jordan. And she is Muffa, and this is Yousseff.
I see. How was your day today?
I just got out of the portal and we were ending the talk, I was facilitating for most of the afternoon
and one of the gentlemen mentioned this young girl, fifteen years old had a
beautiful voice he and she was very soft-spoken throughout the entire
interaction and then started singing and it was gorgeous.
I'm like tearing up just
thinking of what just happened. She sang a song in the other line in Arabic and
she said it was about love and longing and it was beautiful, and the song I
usually sing, I'm Catholic, and so I sing Ave Maria, which is one of my favorite
songs so it was just such a beautiful, spiritual experience and just really
vulnerable; on the other end of the world you're sharing this really intimate part
of you; here you are singing this song that means so much to me and I could
tell the song meant so much to her and it was just a connection I quite frankly
really haven't had in a long time, it was just so beautiful.
In my conversations with many different families in the internally displaced
persons camp in Erbil, Iraq, they said please just tell our stories let people
know about who we are and help people to understand both the challenges we're
facing but also our resilience and the fact that we are able not only to
survive the challenges we're facing but that we look to the future with great
hope and great aspiration.

Interstellar Asteroid A/2017 U1 Update for 11/07/2017 - Duration: 3:32.As might be expected given that it's passing through the solar system at breakneck speed,
the story of the newly discovered suspected interstellar asteroid A/2017 U1 is developing
rapidly.
Since I made my first report on this object a few days ago at least four more papers have
come out characterizing the object and trying to pin down its origin.
The first is by Carlos Marcos and Raul Marcos, link to all papers and materials in the description
below for those that wish to dig deep, and it lays out the characteristics of the hyperbolic
trajectory of A/2017 U1 and strongly bolsters the case that this asteroid is not from this
solar system.
So where is it from?
The second paper is by Eric Gaidos and colleagues and presents an interesting possibility for
the asteroid's origins.
I don't think this will ever be pinned down exactly, objects traveling through space get
perturbed by gravitational sources and trying to reconstruct that past history would be
like reconstructing a game of pool starting with the sinking of the eight ball.
You can get a general idea of how it went by the layout of things, but not much else.
They advance an origin for the object in either the Columba or Carina star associations.
They suggest that due to the object being devoid of ice, it formed in the inner regions
of a protoplanetary disc around one of the stars in those associations and was then ejected
about 40 million years ago by a planet in the system.
They go on to predict that we may see future asteroids of this nature coming from the same
direction.
But how often will we see such objects?
In a third paper by David Trilling and colleagues, they calculate the probability of seeing an
object like this pass through the solar system.
It turns out, they are probably pretty common, and we should detect about 0.2 objects per
year, which could increase to one per year when the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope comes
online which is uniquely suited for detecting objects of this nature.
The last paper by Matthew Knight and colleagues constrains the rotation of the object, which
is at least five hours.
They also note that they saw no evidence of a coma when they observed it, further indicating
that this is an asteroid not a comet.
That brings up another aspect of this object, it's really red.
That makes it difficult to study as far as composition unfortunately, but it's also consistent
with both a primitive object which you would expect if it formed directly from protoplanetary
disc, and an object that's been traveling through the interstellar medium for a long
time exposed to cosmic rays.
While we probably won't ever know too much about this particular object and its history,
it opens up the possibility for a future specialization in science a bit sooner than we anticipated:
interstellar geology.
If indeed objects from other star systems pass through more or less once a year, there
will come a time when we may be able to get samples from many of these objects and directly
study materials from other star systems.
In other words, we do not need to wait for interstellar space travel to get our hands
on some exorocks, as it turns out they also come to us.
Thanks for listening!
I am science fiction author and futurist John Michael Godier currently pondering how many
times earth has been smacked by an exorock.
4.5 billion years, you know it's probably happened.
I'm not sure how I feel about that and be sure to check out my books at your favorite
online book retailer and subscribe to my channel for regular, in-depth explorations into the
interesting, weird and unknown aspects of this amazing universe in which we live.

1.6 Mindfulness with kindness - Duration: 1:59.[Lori] Hi and welcome to Two for You. Have you heard the Harvard research that
talks about how about 47% of the time on average our minds are wandering? In this
episode we're going to talk about how we can focus our minds to the here and now.
[Denise] And to do that, you should do it with an attitude of kindness
according to Shauna Shapiro, a professor of psychology and author. In her work on
mindfulness over the years, she has found two things to be true. One that
mindfulness works and there's a lot of research that backs that up.
Mindfulness reduces your stress, it can improve sleep patterns, lowers blood
pressure and it strengthens your immune system. The second thing that she's found
to be true is that people self-judge when they practice mindfulness - I know I
do. When my mind wanders, I say, "Oh, geez, get back on track" or "oh man, you're
not very good at meditation" and what she says is to really get the positive
benefits of being mindful is that you need to go at it with an attitude of
kindness towards yourself. So understand that you're here and now, but you're here
and now with a kind heart. So Shapiro and her colleagues developed
a mindfulness model, and this mindfulness model looks like this. So practice
mindfulness with intention, attention, and attitude, but attitude with kindness. So
the more that you're intentional about being here and now, and that you have
your attention there without judgment and then an attitude of kindness that
you know that this is a positive thing for you and those around you.
[Lori] Thanks. So if you do go forward with your own mindfulness practice, remember
to integrate an attitude of kindness.

Mikheev. Regarding Putin's speech at the Valdai forum (subtitles) - Duration: 6:56.Honestly, Putin's speech did not seem to be either harsh or incredibly new
He acted within the mainstream thought process, that in Russia has become the main content of political discourse
Maybe for the West it was a revelation. For us everything that he said corresponds to the thoughts of the majority of our population
Maybe THAT is why it's a revelation for the West. The Western mass media write that this was Putin's toughest speech, they are surprised and they are shocked. I don't know what they were expecting.
Maybe they expected penance after the introduction of sanctions? Maybe they thought that they had imposed sanctions and that At LAST Now President Putin will come out and say something like
"yes, we were somewhere wrong, now we realize it. And of course we are ready to crawl back on our belly" or something like that.
But in that case they are big dreamers or they do not understand what is happening in Russia at all.
Again, is it good what's happening in Russia or bad, it's another matter and let everyone decide for themselves. For us its good, for them Its bad.
But THIS is exactly what's happening and not what they would like.
They had fantasies that these sanctions will begin to bear fruit, and that the Russian leadership will come and say
"we all understand that we should talk as the former Minister of Foreign Affairs Kozarev did" or something along those lines.
This did not happen. Apparently it causes them disappointment.
When I speak with people from west, I have a question: until what point do they believe in what they say and after what moment does the manipulation begin?
Because sometimes it's impossible to understand if they overplayed their own ideals and believe in their own theses,
, or do they really not understand that they interfere in our internal affairs
do not really understand that after the collapse of the Soviet Union they didn't do anything good for our country.
They really do not understand that they are invading our sphere of national interests but they are supposedly allowed everything.
Do they sincerely not understand? Or is it nothing more than wordplay?
I also went through their press that reacted to Putin's speech
and it feels that they are outraged by the fact that we dared to say something in our favor.
Roughly speaking, they consider our attempt to make an agreement an aggression
they consider the fact that we are trying to identify our own national interests as authoritarianism
Why I started with the fact that I do not consider Putin's speech tough
it seems to me that Putin devoted his entire speech to the fact that we would not want to do this
but you forced us to do it.
To us, our reaction seems to be logical, we can not act and will not act otherwise
Maybe once we did act otherwise. But that time is over.
But this is what's perceived in the West as aggression. So what then is not aggression?
Not aggression is belly up and play dead in the style of Kozyrev.
In that case, these people simply do not understand in what kind of world they live.
They did not invent it. And maybe they no longer have both feet on the ground
As for the sanctions, what deputy Prime Minster Shuvalov said that our Ministry of Economic Development will change and so on.
If sanctions led to this, thank God for sanctions.
Although I personally do not understand why we couldn't come to this before the sanctions.
Regarding the questions that Putin should ask himself or in front of the country
I agree that there are such issues and they relate primarily to internal problems.
As for the external problems to which the Valdai discussion Club was mainly devoted,
it seems to me that all the answers have been given.
Moreover, if he began to answer the questions that Nikolai Zlobin put here, the speech would be even harsher
Because it is impossible not to remember about the 90s or remember what is happening in our relations with the West.
If you want I can answer these questions. Although I think they are answered all the time
For example, why did it turn out like this with Ukraine?
Because A) the Soviet Union broke up which Putin called a catastrophe.
B) Because for a long time we followed in the forefront of Western politics
as consequence we are not supposed to have zones of national interests in these countries
C) Because we have long believed the western mantra
that supposedly trade and economic relations can solve all problems.
Next, because we were confident that NATO would not move to the east, however, it did move to the east.
Forgive this interruption there is another point - double treason.
Because Crimea was betrayed by both Gorbachev and then Yeltsin
and even the President of Ukraine Kravchuk back then was very surprised that the question of Crimea did not arise.
What about the sanctions? Yes, sanctions affect our economy
but why do they influence us?
Because we put our economy in complete dependence on the global system of distribution of labor
I personally think that we should have built our economy primarily in own interests
and not build into the global one, as we were told by Western experts which came here.
Next, you mentioned the status of primacy of international treaties in the Russian constitution
Well how did it turn out to be there?
Because this constitution was written with the help of American consultants.
We discussed this norm for many years and it has not brought us anything good
If Putin answered these questions, his speech would be even tougher
and they would absolutely not be answers that you would like to hear.
If he said "Yes, we are to blame, we took Crimea in vain, why did we stick our nose in Ukraine?
Why do we need foreign policy at all? For what do we modernize our army, this is all nonsense
We must build normal relations with the US, we must invite Western investors and then everything would be good"
But we did build, we did invite, and nothing happened.
You see, this momentary thinking is inapplicable in this case.
You say enough remembering the 90s, but in a historical sense its very short period.
Its impossible not to remember.
What is happening now is the consequence of what happened then.
Back then the foundation of the new Russian statehood was laid.
Same goes for corruption. Wasn't the economy foundation laid on top corruption schemes?
Now we reap what was sown.
Does Putin make mistakes? Certainly, there are a lot of questions on domestic policy.
What he said at the forum, about the economy and that we need to look for a compromise, etc, etc.
But those answers you expect from Putin about foreign policy
they will be even more unpleasant for the West than what he says in his speech.

🙏 Walk by faith when your prayer is unanswered | Genesis 7:1-11 - Duration: 6:24.(Music plays)
Hey everyone, I'm Rachel and today on Crack Your Bible I am actually at
my gym, outside by the pool.
That's what the light on my face is.
I'm like sitting by the water.
I needed some fresh air because I've been cooped up sick, but um, anyway what I wanted
to talk about was Genesis 7.
So, when Noah was 480 years old, God tells him, you know, "you're righteous and I'm going
to destroy the entire earth because they are so wicked and evil."
And He tells Noah to build an ark.
(Genesis 6:17-18 on screen.)
And we see that Noah acts in faith and he does what God tells him to do.
And that in and of itself is a big undertaking.
He has to become a master ship builder, he has to source all of these products to build
a boat and he does it for 120 years, just like God tells him He's going to do.
(Genesis 7:2-3 on screen.)
Afterwards, you see that God says that He wants pairs of animals on the ark, so He takes
a pair, a mating pair of every unclean animal and 7 pairs of every clean animal and He brings
them to Noah.
And that's a big thing - is that, if God wants you to do something, not only do you need
to do your part, where it's like, if God tells you to do something, you need to do it.
But, if God wants something done, He'll also do His part.
And one of those things is He wants the animals safe.
So God brings the animals to Noah.
It's not that Noah is having to source all of these animals and find suitable pairs,
God brings them to Noah.
So when we question, you know, "How did all of the animals get to Noah?"
Well, God brought them to Noah.
(Genesis 7:11 on screen.)
So when Noah was 600 years old, it says that all of the springs from the deep burst forth
and rain fell from the heavens This week, I want to show some evidence, where it shows
that springs from the deep did burst forth and that is how we get geological formations
like mountains, all over the earth today.
Now God says that His creation cries out and shows that there is a creator.
We see the signature of His hand all over the face of the earth.
So when people say, "how is there a God?"
Well, we can look around us all of the time and see God's creation.
And when I drive through Las Vegas, because Las Vegas is situated in a basin, I see God's
handiwork all around us.
And I see evidence of the flood all around us.
And these springs from the deep, when they burst forth, they shot earth and the layers
of the earth up in a violent manner.
And you can see that and later this week I'm definitely going to show you guys some evidence
of that from when I was in Colorado.
How we can trust what the Bible says and some of the scientific backing behind it.
I think it's really important to notice that Noah was acting in faith for more than 120
years.
He got his family completely involved - his wife, his sons and his 3 daughter-in-laws.
And I'm just wondering like, "do we, like, do I, have that kind of faith where for 120
years I'm just working towards the goal that I'm not really sure is going to come into
fruition?"
Like, would I have the ability to trust in God and do what He says.
Spend the money and the time and the effort and like, my life's mission to act in faith
on a promise that God has made?
Do I think that I could be like Noah?
And I want to say "yeah" because you know, we're all acting in faith that what God said
is true and that He's coming back.
And, that certain things are going to happen in the last days and I think Noah probably
feels the same way that we do.
But, he was righteous and he was faithful and he saw the signs, he listened to God and
he acted out in faith with what God told him to do.
And, I hope that all of us can be like that.
Like, when the going gets tough and when things seem like they're hopeless, and it's just
like... "what is the point in all of this?"
And you know, we're not acting like everybody else is in the world, so we're different and
we're set apart, and maybe we're looked down upon.
I hope that we can kind of draw on the strength that Noah had, knowing that God is a good
God, God always takes care of us and God always will do what He says that He's going to do.
So if God says He's going to destroy the earth, He's going to destroy the earth and if God
says He's coming back for us, He's coming back for us.
So, when you do your part, when you do what God tells you to do, God does His part, He
brings the animals and He will save you.
So I just want to encourage you that you know what?
Things in this life may be difficult, and we might not be the popular crowd in the world
today, but just remember, God is coming back and He's going to do what He says He's going
to do - which is to save us.
So anyway, I will see you on Wednesday, and I will talk to you later.
Bye!
(Music plays.)

How I Make Money On YouTube - Duration: 15:11.- Let's get a few things straight about what I'm doing here
because the comments are what motivates me.
It motivates me to keep me going, the good comments.
So back off.
What's up, trainiac?
Actually, you know what, I don't think this video
is really intended for the trainiacs.
You see, trainiacs are good folk
and this video is more intended for the trainer haters
that seem to have a lot of interest
and a lot of opinions on how I make money on YouTube
so let's clear some things up, shall we?
So, now, over the last I would say two months,
there's been a lot of growth in the channel
with us going to KONA, with me going to Austin.
We met a lot of people.
We got a heck of a lot of new views.
Hence, a heck of a lot of new followers.
Awesome, very happy about it, thank you very much.
I will preface all of this with saying
that the vast majority of you, I would say 99%,
are full on awesome, good, supportive trainiacs that I love
and thank you so much.
I appreciate you for spending your time
watching and listening to me and PD likes it too, right P?
He's a trainiac as well.
But I think that what's happened
over the course of the last few months
is that because people haven't been around
for as long as other followers,
there's a lot of new people
that maybe don't trust me a whole lot
and there are a lot of assumptions being made
now that there are a heck of a lot of products
that I picked up at Interbike,
that I picked at KONA,
that I picked up at Austin,
the companies with the growth
and what they've seen over the last few months.
They're sending me out stuff
and I'm featuring a lot more products
and people are being ruthless in the comments
and making a lot of nasty troll remarks
about how I make money,
about how I've sold out,
about how I'm being dishonest,
about how I'm shoving crap down your throat.
Well, we gotta clear some of this up, all right?
Because you know what, it does hit me.
Because you know what,
while I don't respond to every single comment,
I read every single comment
because the comments are what motivates me.
It motivates me to keep me going, the good comments,
but the bad comments that really demotivate me
and frankly make it really tough to keep going some days
when I'm not at KONA and amongst all the excitement
or I'm not at Austin and I can see the people,
literally the people that come
and introduce themselves to me,
that is awesome and motivating,
and the people that cheer me on from the sidelines
and the people that cheer each other on.
They're wearing the kit.
That is so easy to keep wanting to make videos
when I'm seeing that,
but when I'm here alone in Winnipeg hammering it out,
talking to an inanimate object of the camera
and I can't see you all physically
on the other side of the camera lens,
sometimes almost all that rings in my head
are those troll comments.
So, let's get a few things straight
about what I'm doing here.
Let's talk about YouTube AdSense
and that's a way that we make money.
It's not a ton,
but we do make money off of those skippable ads
or those long 15-second ads that come before our videos.
We have no say in what those ads are,
but about 25 to 30% of the videos that you view
have an ad before it.
The rest are maybe ad blocked
or they just don't have an ad before it
or you skipped an ad so we don't make any money
on the vast majority of the views that we get,
but the ones that we do get,
that 25 to 30% that we do make money on,
we make somewhere around $7 to $8
for every thousand monetized views.
So, let's say it takes 4,000 views
to get a thousand monetized views,
we make about seven to eight bucks.
On an average day,
we'll do anywhere between about 10 and 20,000 views
so we're talking $15 to $20 a day, thereabouts.
Not getting rich here, folks.
Next is affiliate commissions
and this is through Amazon or all the gear that I've listed
at kit.com/triathlontaren with everything that I like
and use and love on a day-to-day basis and I can recommend.
If you click through any of those links
and buy anything at the affiliate sites
where they're linked out to,
we make somewhere around 5% to 6% commission.
It doesn't cost anyone anything extra,
but we get a small commission.
Now, on the grand scheme of things,
I don't really remember anything significant
that we've actually bought from affiliate revenues.
That's how small they are.
We have been saving up
our affiliate commissions for five months
and we've got a grand total of about $300 in there,
so not a lot.
However, when you do that, it does all add up,
so thank you to anyone who makes a point
of clicking through those links, okay?
And I disclose those.
I will say that's an affiliate link.
It helps us out.
I tell you how it works.
Okay, not hiding anything.
Next are the coaching plans
and I talk about how this supports us a huge amount.
Now, the coaching plans came about because people,
dozens of people started messaging me saying,
"Hey, can you coach me?
"Are you a coach?
"Will you coach me?
"Do you have some coaching plans?"
It's not like I came up with this master plan
to start a YouTube channel
and I was gonna start shoving
coaching plans down peoples' throats
and I was gonna make money all over the place,
no, people started asking for coaching plans.
It's not like I had a resource where I could say,
"Oh, go to this coach.
"He has excellent coaching plans
"because I've tried all of his coaching plans
"and I know him very well."
No, the coach that I knew was my coach so I said,
"Hey Coach Pat, can you make some coaching plans?"
And we sell them for literally less than you would pay
for a one-page printout
on some of the other coaching plan websites.
In the grand scheme of everything,
the coaching plans are actually
probably our biggest supporter.
In a really, really big month,
we might sell somewhere around 100 coaching plans to 150,
but it almost always happens when there's a launch of...
Oh, the original launch?
That was when we sold the most coaching plans ever
and I did for a massive discount
really just to help everyone out
who was willing to help me out
and tell me what they wanted in a coaching plan.
So not only did we price them low,
but we sell most of them when it's 50% off
for $45 or $49 a piece.
So again, I'm trying to be very upfront.
It's no secret that we're selling it for a certain amount.
And I'm trying to do things that people really want.
And then in line with that were Trainiac Kits.
Everyone was asking, "Do you have shirts?
"Do you have schweg?
"Do you have gear?
"Do you have a kit that you recommend?"
Again, I didn't have a specific kit that I recommended.
I wanted to be able to give athletes a way
to spot each other out on the course,
people that were followers that liked the videos,
and they could cheer each other on
and that's exactly what happened in Austin
that there were two trainiacs that biked past each other
and one of them noticed the other one in the kit
and they actually chatted on the bike course
for I don't know five or 10 minutes
and then every time they past each other on the run,
they gave each other a high five.
I wanted just to build the community
and the money that we make off of that is 10% of the sales
so some people are just buying a Trainiac shirt
for 50 bucks and we make $5.
Some people are buying the full kit for $250
and we make $25.
$25 in the grand scheme of life
does not go a very long way again,
but we're just trying to make things
that improve the community,
that I know that I can put my name on,
that I feel confident that it's good quality,
that I like, that I would wear every single day.
I'm not sending people to another company
that I don't know what their customer service is.
I have no say in what they do.
I'm kinda just doing little bits of things here and there
that I'm trying to build this whole community.
Now, one time,
one
time
I have actually done a product review for money.
And when I did this, I was very upfront about it.
It was for the Lifetrak HRV Tracker
that did your heart rate variability.
And I told people,
"Hey, they have sponsored a series of videos here."
And in that video, if you go back and you watch it,
which I will link to right up there,
you will see that I talk about the good stuff
and I talk about the bad stuff.
And on that, I won't say exactly how much they paid me
because it was a contract and it's confidential,
it was more than $100,
it was less then $1,500 to do four videos.
One
time.
Now speaking about the bad stuff with product,
you do not have a clue how many products I get offered,
how many products I get sent,
that don't make it into these videos.
The only products that I put into these videos
are the ones that I like, that I know, that I recommend.
Now, the things that I've been getting
a lot of static about lately are because I'm sharing things
that are a little bit fringy.
They're new, they're unproven.
That's partly why I wanna try them out
because if I'm just gonna do a review on
the latest and greatest Clif Bar
or the latest HOKA shoes, who cares?
They're all good.
You can go and try it in your local bike shop
or your running store.
The stuff that I wanna try is the stuff that is unproven
like the Wahoo KICKR, sure.
It's a great product, but not too many people
have dozens of friends that have them.
I wanna be that friend that you can say,
"Hey Taren, how do you like it?"
The Footbeats that I talked about yesterday.
I was skeptical like crazy about them.
The only reason that they made it into yesterday's video,
the entirety of yesterday's video
is because I've had a good experience.
And then people get all up in my case and they're like,
"Oh, you know the science in this is totally junk.
"It has to be double blind placebo controlled test."
No, how about it just makes me feel better?
And that's all I said.
I said that they had four peer-reviewed studies.
I didn't say,
"Well, because they have these four peer-reviewed studies,
"they're scientifically proven to be phenomenal."
No, I just said it makes me feel better
and I talked about the science that they have, okay?
So back off.
God.
And then the last thing
is when people get on my caseload saying,
"Hey, this has to be marked as an ad
"even though you get it for free."
Well, I'm gonna tell you something.
I used to manage the social media
and video production division
for one of the largest tech publishers in the world
with hundreds of millions of use a month.
We dealt with legal teams in Canada, the United States,
who managed IP and security and FTC regulations worldwide
and you know what,
I think I know a thing or two about it, okay?
So back off.
Now, how do I actually make money?
Well, I make a little bit of money.
It's like anywhere around a few thousand dollars
between cobbling together everything around here.
Sometimes it's selling my old gear.
Sometimes it's YouTube AdSense.
Sometimes it's coaching plans that people have purchased.
But there is nowhere in here that I'm sneaking in
little bits of money and running away to the bank I'm like,
"Ha ha ha, did that video and the followers didn't even know
"that I got paid."
No siree, still Triathlon Taren is a losing proposition.
I, Triathlon Kim, Mel who makes the videos,
the majority of how we make this work
is because I have a boutique social media consulting
and content production company that's off on the side
and we have local businesses who pay us to do that
and that's what keeps us afloat,
but I'm doing this partly because I've got the hope
that it's going to turn into everyone's dream
that I can basically do Triathlon Taren
and I can play triathlons for a living
and I can play on YouTube and make videos
and live a creative life that is fulfilling
and helps changes lives.
And as much as the troll comments do hurt me
and they get to me and they demotivate me,
what keeps me going and keeps me wanting to do this
until the point that it's all that I can do
is when I go to a place like KONA or like Austin
where I see trainiacs and I see them cheering each other on
and I meet them and I take selfies with them
and I meet the kids that watch it with their parents
and I meet the people that have done their first race
and I help them feel confident enough to do this
and every single one of those cancels out
hundreds of you troll comments.
And that's why I do this because the life that I led
as an investment advisor was moving papers
from this side of the desk to that side of the desk.
It was maybe making 7% returns as opposed to 6.5% returns
so millionaires could be more millionaires,
but you know what, helping change people's lives
and empower them to be fitter, to be healthier,
to be more risk taking, to be more confident in their life,
this is fulfilling and you know what,
if I've got to go and try to do things honorably
for a year or two years and not take money
from this company and that company and sell out
and do things that I only believe in
and share only the products that I believe in
and wait until I can make a living out of this,
that's what I'm gonna do.
And in the meantime,
if y'all don't like how I'm running this YouTube channel,
you don't have to watch.
Why do you gotta take the time to try to bring me down?
God.
If you really got that much time,
start your own YouTube channel, come on.
All right, rant over.
We needed to talk about that.
Thank you very much
to the 99% of the supportive trainiacs out there.
You are what make me wanna keep doing this.
I appreciate it.

Thor: Ragnarok • Spoiler-Free Movie Review #JPMN - Duration: 4:36.Big, dumb, and fun.
The seventeenth entry in Marvel's Cinematic Universe was released worldwide on November
3, 2017.
With rave reviews and strong ticket sales, the PG-13 rated film eared back its $180 million
budget by the end of its opening weekend.
New Zealand director Taika Waititi really impressed me with his previous two movies,
"What We Do In The Shadows" and "Hunt For The Wilderpeople" - both fresh and charming
comedy/dramas that never took themselves too seriously.
And that irreverence has been applied wholeheartedly to the third picture in Marvel's heretofore
most disappointing series.
Although the first two "Thor" films are decently entertaining - they both rank in my bottom-five
in the ever-growing MCU catalog.
So to say this is an improvement is an understatement; "Ragnarok" is the best "Thor" movie by a country
mile.
Banished to a mysterious world after the death of their father Odin, the princes of Asgard
reluctantly join forces to overthrow a powerful new threat that aims to destroy their kingdom.
Invariably, this narrative bears many similarities to one of my favorite epics, "Ben Hur"; a
prince is banished from his kingdom and must fight his way back - by way of gladiator-style
competition - to vanquish the person who stole his throne.
It's a familiar, if time-tested formula that works remarkably well to ground the other-worldly
narrative; which is important since almost none of the action takes place on Earth.
Chris Hemsworth once again portrays the title character, but after becoming bored with this
role in his previous four outings; things have been mixed up a bit here.
Namely they've cut his hair, changed his clothes, and taken away his magic hammer.
The result is a more vulnerable, but cheekier interpretation of this character; sharing
similarities to Kurt Russell's "Jack Burton" in "Big Trouble In Little China".
Hemsworth nails this slight character shift, and proves to be a natural with the film's
many improvisational moments.
With the notable exception of his Earthling-friends (and Jamie Alexander), all the characters
from previous Thor films reprise their roles here; Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston are the
obvious standouts; continuing to demonstrate why they're the most interesting characters
in the entire franchise.
Joining the group is Cate Blanchett as another dime-a-dozen evil empress who is predictably
more powerful than our heroes, but not too powerful enough to actually stop them; a bald
Karl Urban is her opportunist lackey, Jeff Goldblum plays an alien version of himself
to absolute perfection; Tessa Thompson is sadly generic as a hard-drinking bounty hunter
turned teammate; while Mark Ruffalo crosses over into this series in a big way as The
Hulk.
He shares one of the film's few quiet scenes when Hemsworth confesses, "We're the same,
you and I.
We're just a couple of hotheaded fools."
This is a big cast - and while not everyone gets enough time to shine, it's the individual
pairings that work surprisingly well.
Whether Hemsworth is trading contentious barbs with Hiddleston, or Ruffalo is downplaying
his alter-ego to Thompson, or Goldblum is talking to literally anyone... everyone meshes
together well.
My favorite creature was a soft-spoken rock solider voiced by Waititi himself - as nearly
all of his lines scored laughter.
And on the directing side of things, Waititi isn't
afraid to punctuate a dramatic monologue with a sudden bit of physical humor; a technique
used a couple times with hilarious effectiveness.
The film kicks off with a raucous cold open, set to Led Zeppelin's incredibly-fitting "Immigrant
Song".
When Robert Planet belts out "The hammer of the gods", just as Thor swings his trusty
Mjolnir into a horde of underworld enemies; it is positively impossible not to smile.
Especially when you consider how rarely Page and Plant license their music for media like
this.
Moments after that bad-ass fight sequence, we're treated to a surprise celebrity cameo
that had me literally howling in my packed theater.
This mixture of loud action and goofy humor permeates throughout the extremely well-paced
130-minute script.
The score from Mark Mothersbaugh feels a bit like blending the opening bass-line of "Another
Bites The Dust" with the techno synthesizer sounds of "The Stranger Things" theme song.
It doesn't do enough to break the trend of Marvel movies having unforgettable music - but
it's a solid effort.
The overall jokiness easily makes this best "Thor" movie yet - but it also prevents it
from becoming truly effective on an emotional level.
With crowd-pleasing twists on the tired superhero formula, "Thor: Ragnarok" is a very enjoyable
time.
I thought it was GREAT.

Buried in the shadows
There you were
Drawn into your mystery
I was just beginning
To see your ghost
But you must know
I will be here waiting
Hoping
Praying
That this light will guide you home
When you're feeling lost
Don't leave, my love
Hidden in the sun
For when the darkness comes.
Now the door is open
The world I knew is broken
With no return
Now my heart is not scared
Just knowing that you're out there
Watching me
So believe
I will be here waiting
Hoping
Praying
That this light will guide you home
When you're feeling lost
Don't leave, my love
Hidden in the sun
For when the darkness comes
