The resignation means the Netherlands still has its values intact,

Alice Stollmeyer thought it was good that some politicians

still have the decency to resign over telling a half-truth.

Joris Luyendijk saw it as proof that the UK needs another

"Glorious Revolution where the Dutch come over to sort them out."

Wolfgang Blau said Zijlstra's resignation sets the bar extremely high for Boris Johnson.

and Brexiteers to come together to back Brexit.

and so many, many more.

But the most cringeworthy award goes to the British Department of Work and Pensions,

who thought Valentine's Day was a great chance to draw attention to benefit fraud!

this has been the best summer of my life

a summer of train rides and falling in love

on the back of a bike

a summer of exchanging stories

about treacherous engagements

and hot gun barrels

and restaurants you just had to eat at

days spent indoors becoming comfortable with my own voice

and the spirit of change

days with him

wishing they would never end

hoping for forever

we broke up seven weeks later

so the question was,

what to do with all this footage now?

this collection of scattered memories from

a life I was no longer living?

well i'm not one to run from the past

so I decided to make something of it

when someone doesn't love you anymore,

what do you do with yourself?

for a while I tried to save something which wasn't there anymore.

hope.

it's a strange thing.

I was unbelievably, blissfully happy

but I didn't really know who I was without him

the truth is,

I'm still a young woman who loves feeding birds

and doesn't have a lot of friends.

but somewhere in between an end and a new beginning

I learned a few things about myself.

I never quite felt comfortable in front of the camera,

but I continued on with vulnerability and honesty.

and in that was a fearlessness.

I was left with an uncertain future,

left to pick up the pieces

in a country still foreign to me

but I taught myself how to ride a bike again

how to breathe

and see that things get better in time.

and in that was a resilience.

I finished my studies in Amsterdam.

I travelled alone

by day, by night, by foot, by tram, train, bike

and in August, I boarded a 747 home

and began my application

to return to South Holland the following year.

and in that was a perseverance.

I'm getting back into filming

and damn right I'll be back

not to chase old memories

but to create new ones

not for anyone but myself and my dream

to live again in that flat, innocent, breathtaking country

they call

The Netherlands.

hi ! today i'm making and eating "Spicy Rice Cake" please join me

in a large pan, add 500ml of water, 2tbsp of hot pepper paste

1tbsp of chili powder, 1tbsp of sugar and 1tbsp of soy sauce

bring to a boil on medium high heat

add sweet potato vermicelli, vienna sausage and rice cake

and lower the heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes until the rice cake turns soft and the sauce thickens

add shredded cheese on top before serving

"Spicy Rice Cake" is ready
