Antarctica today is a hotbed of scientific activity.
Scientists are shooting weather balloons into space, hunting for galactic particles, and
flying across the continent to chart our changing climate.
But over 60 years ago, Antarctica was a blanket of unknowns, a territory that was a siren
song for adventure junkies and pioneering scientists.
And in the midst of the Cold War, international peace was forged on the ice.
It was very, very reconnaissance.
There hadn't really been serious scientific research done across the continent.
But countries came together, we were actually able to unfreeze the international relations
between east and west.
This is David Drewry, a renowned glaciologist and former director of the Scott Polar Research
Institute.
He's even got a mountain named after him.
As a young scientist, David participated in hundreds of groundbreaking flights across
Antarctica.
We really wanted to understand what the climate was like, as opposed to understanding how
the climate had changed.
While conducting research, David filmed his experience, and we asked him to digitize a
roll of cine film, which hasn't seen the light of day... until now.
Those rocks those mountains, it's just one of those magical parts of the world.
At one point, Antarctica was primed for conquest , but the international community stepped
in to make the continent politically neutral.
From 1957-1958, scientists worked side by side.
We thought some of the scientists were rubbish.
Look at them, all they're doing is studying theses little sort of tiny mosses.
I mean, who could possibly get interested in that?
And they joked about, "What are they doing flying around in these airplanes?"
A lot of good hearted scientific joshing.
Thanks to friendly competition and collaboration, techniques like radio glaciology, which uses
radar to map the ice, became vetted scientific methods.
This film was the foundation of our field.
I mean, at a base-line level they were showing that you can look through four kilometers
of ice with a radar pulse, and see what the bottom of the continent looks like.
But the real breakthrough was in the recording system, invented by a radio glaciologist named
Stan Evans who flew with David.
So what Stan did was to get a camera with a piece of 35mm film that would slowly pass
over the oscilloscope, the film integrated the signal.
And with the film continuously moving across it, you built up a profile.
We'd do our activity and then, at the end of the flight, we'd come back to McMurdo.
We could socialize, get a drink.
We would go to the mess hall.
Steaks, lobster, fresh salads would be flown in from New Zealand.
We went to the Russian station at Vostok, it's the coldest place on earth.
The best thing was, a glass of vodka, nostrovia, and you're pals forever.
You have to remember just how hostile the Antarctic is.
And once you're working and doing all of these things, if anything goes wrong, it goes badly
wrong and it goes badly wrong very quickly.
But thanks to these intrepid scientists & radar profiles, a whole new world of lakes, valleys,
and mountain ranges were uncovered.
The whole object has been to build up this picture of the ice sheet and what lies beneath
it.
These techniques are still being used today, inspiring the next generation, like Dusty
Schroeder, a Stanford radio-glaciologist.
Decades after these radar films were taken, Dustin is embarking on a massive digitization
project to see if there's new information to mine.
There were thousands of reels that we then combined together.
We bought this used Hollywood equipment off eBay, and we would splice them together and
tape them, put them onto the scanner and digitize them.
That produced about 2 million images that we're now processing through.
These radargrams are like slices of the ice sheet, and can show how an ice shelf has changed.
These two radar grams are of lake Vostok, they're the same film.
You can see the outline of the bottom of the bed of the ice sheet, you can see the lake.
This is how we knew the lake was there, this is how we knew layers were drying down and
melting was happening.
It was a huge piece of our understanding of one the largest lakes on earth.
These films are extending our record of the history of the ice sheet by almost 4 decades.
And this invaluable data can now help us better project Antarctica's future.
Trying to predict how the ice sheets gonna behave over the next few decades is challenging,
it's one of the big tasks.
The hope with this whole collection of data is just to give a window into anywhere where
we were lucky enough to have had data collected at that period, to be able to compare how
that's changed from then to now.
I think it's fantastic that he's been able to now use different techniques to capture
all the information.
Antarctica has been, and remains an absolutely cornerstone element in understanding global
environmental processes.
So the more historic information we have, the better.

5 Things to do with…. Pork - Duration: 5:46.
So, guys, I'm gonna give you five incredible recipes to celebrate pork,
a really underrated meat, in my opinion, but when it's done properly, when it's
free-range and gorgeous, it's such a fantastic meat. Me, Gennaro and Example, at
the Feastival, cook some beautiful pork skewers, which I know you're going
to love. Today's a beautiful day because we have got Example here. He's just dropped
in. So, we've got some tomatoes on the vine, some chilies, some spring onions.
You got any peppers? Can you just go and burn that for me Genarr? Bay and pork. If
you smash the hell out of it with some salt we can just take those stalks out
and we'll make a wicked oil that will flavour this. Four cloves of garlic in with
that bay. I'm just gonna grate it in. I'm gonna put some oil in there now. Got some
pork filet, here. You can just pour that straight over there, bruv. When you do
get the marinade in there, just really scrunch it up. Just whack us some salt over
the top. And we're just gonna grill these simply. All I'm gonna do, Elliot, is just
to take the seeds out, and the stalks. The tomatoes, I'm just going to take the
green part but I'll leave the skin. The chili, I'll just take the stalks out. You
can do this with a pestle and mortar, but let's just do it this way. The whole lot.
Ready! When meat comes off the grill, always
kiss it with just a little fat because it will dry. A little squeeze of lemon
juice. So, soft tortilla. I've just cut some iceberg. We've got some avocado, got
some coriander there and then our salsa. Here we go, beautiful grilled pork. This
is for my boy, Example. Oh my God.
Next up, we've got honey glazed char siu pork, done by the
Dumpling Sisters. They're brilliant. You're gonna love this.
Here I have 800 grams of pork shoulder
So, into the pork goes half a tablespoon of honey, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce,
delicious rice wine, hoisin, sesame oil for fragrance, ground white pepper,
dark brown sugar and one clove of garlic. Just cover it with cling film and leave it in
the fridge to marinate overnight if you can so what I usually do
if the pooch has to switch your open to the girls eating and slather that honey
glaze on top and there we have it
next up marques pork vindaloo curry amazing the first thing I'm going to do
is make the actual vindaloo paste I've got each Kashmiri chilies about a
teaspoon of black mustard seeds about a teaspoon of whole cumin in my little
food processor I'm going to put four fat clothes of garlic peeled and also half
an inch of ginger two tablespoons of coconut vinegar tablespoon of oil is
beautifully aromatic toasted whole spices give this a good whiz to create a
vindaloo paste I'm going to take my vindaloo paste and
add it to my meat and this needs to be covered and then put in your fridge
preferably overnight and here is one I made earlier I'm gonna chop up an onion
the furthest pinch of sword a stick of cinnamon I'm now going to put the book
pieces into the pan add a cup of hot water all you gotta do is cover it and
leave it cooking for anywhere between 45 minutes and an hour look at those
beautiful pieces of pork they've melted into the curry next up I'm going to show
you how to make the plastic pork loin roast find yourself a piece of pork
that's gorgeous what I'm doing is just cutting between the skin and the loin of
pork cracklings to be I'm just gonna store that all over time and rosemary to
flavor our skin salt and pepper all the way around just a little oil just helps
all those herbs stick to it for scoring and crackling you want it to be
shareable I'm just gonna put the skin fat side down first take this out I'm
gonna go back in with the skin side of the pork they're half a bottle of
balsamic look at that so I'm going to put this
into a tray pour all of this bowl stomach over the pork get some garlic
cloves and I'm gonna put that in and around that juice so this goes into the
oven I'm gonna put the pork skin straight onto the bars of the oven
boom look at that dark gnarly you're gorgeous with the crackling people fight
over this stuff so I put this in and around the board brothers and sisters
around the world this is a beautifully cooked pork loin that is what it's all
about gorgeous moist delicious pork we're
gonna finish on a high with assorted boys doing Chinese pork belly so start
with we have root ginger and orange Chinese five-spice going into a roaster
train time warm water so these are pork belly rashes
so put those in we're gonna put two portions at the moment if you've got to
cook it for long slow time it's what we're gonna do there and then it can go
into the oven for about three or four hours we are gonna do an amazing plum
sauce to go with it if you can just cross these up Keystone them into our
pan I'm gonna find it dice up a chalant a glug of oil two star anise red chili
rice wine vinegar brown sugar to bounce out and once that bubbles back so ten
minutes so that's all it need the perfect plum chutney next up cabbage as
it gets out the white storm yeah Boober soy sauce that's it that's
all it needs now our water is boiling we can add in the rice cabbage in to sort a
splash of soy sauce for seasoning and our pork very soft some of our soy sauce
cabbage and then for the pork like so
there you go guys buy a fantastic pot recipes I hope you like this if you do
just share it around and enjoy

10 Times Gordon Ramsay ACTUALLY FAILED! (Part 3) - Duration: 12:40.
After the second round of Gordon Ramsay's failures, we all knew you were going to want
more.
After all, who doesn't want to see those moments when Gordon totally failed, embarrassed
himself or maybe even got owned by his own kids?!
It's not always that we see Chef Ramsay be the one who is being laughed at.
That's why we went the extra length to put together this new list of 10 other moments
when Chef Ramsay actually failed on TV!
In case you didn't know, Gordon Ramsay is a well-known prankster.
Chef Ramsay has done several pranks, in pretty much all of his different TV shows.
However, one of his latest pranks backfired.
While his offspring was talking to her instructor, Gordon decided to hide inside the car.
It took some determination like Gordon said.
Then his daughter finally came to drive the car.
There was just one little adjustment.
That wasn't the outcome Gordon was expecting at all.

Failing a Milkshake Challenge
During Season 6 of Masterchef Junior, the kids competed in a Milkshake Challenge, where
they had to make the most milkshakes - in under 5 minutes - using a hand-cranked blender.
During the promotion for the show, Gordon decided to do a version of the challenge himself.
The rules?
When the challenge started, Gordon started going fast.
But Gordon's process ended up being a bit too messy.
Then, the vanilla ice cream and the blender proved to be a real problem.
But he managed to get the thing going.
When he poured it, there was only enough ice cream for six cups.
Gordon needed to make more!
After he made some more, it was time for the whipped cream, which also came as a surprise.
Anyway, Gordon went for a third round.
Gordon's milkshake presentation wasn't the best at the end.
Honestly, if he was judging them, he would probably be pretty mad.
Failing to connect with kids
On Masterchef Junior, Gordon frequently connected with the kids, bonding over their love of
food.
Chef Ramsay also comforted kids that were struggling with difficult challenges and taught
them great tips to help them improve.
But not every interaction with the kids was a home run, actually.
Like what happened with Abby, for example.
But the little chef couldn't be bothered!
Can you imagine Gordon's reaction if that happened in Hell's Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmares?
That's not the only example.
Ramsay kept trying and the little chef seemed unfazed.
Many adults would just try to suck up to Gordon, but kids didn't really care!
Nothing compares to being called old though.
Chef Ramsay asked the little chef who made the best cooks?
Chef Ramsay then asked.
Savage!
Failing to impress a restaurant owner
Kitchen Nightmares was a show all about trying to save awful restaurants that were on the
brink of failure.
Most owners in Kitchen Nightmares would be ecstatic after seeing the transformation that
Gordon devised for those places.
But that didn't happen with Adele, who owned the "Flamangos" restaurant.
Right after Gordon revealed the new name for the restaurant, you could see things weren't
going too well.
Unfortunately, Adele seemed too attached to her old restaurant.
While many of the staff absolutely loved the changes, Adele hated it.
She kept walking around, muttering things to herself.
She even started to cry!
When Gordon showed her the new menu.
Adele was not impressed with the new offerings.
After tasting the new menu, Adele still wasn't impressed.
After so many successful attempts at turning restaurants around, it seemed like Gordon
failed to impress this owner with anything.
A Teaching Failure
During another of his appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Gordon tried to teach Jimmy Kimmel how to make his famous scrambled eggs.
Emphasis on "tried."
Even with Gordon helping out with some of the ingredients, Jimmy Kimmel quickly got
overwhelmed with all the different tasks Gordon was giving him.
After the eggs were in the pan, Gordon tried to give Kimmel some instructions.
Kimmel didn't seem to get the message though and Gordon didn't notice.
Gordon tried to give some more tips, but Kimmel was just too confused.
After the process was over, Gordon took a look at it.
It seemed like Ramsay was trying to get the whole dish going, instead of worrying about
teaching Kimmel how to properly scramble those eggs.
All of Gordon's teaching skills seemed to have gone straight out of the window.
All in all, that was a double failure.
Failing to cook against James Corden
During the Late Late Show with James Corden, Gordon and his daughter Tilly competed against
Corden - cooking a full English breakfast.
Too many chefs in the kitchen can make a mess.
Two Ramsays at the same time?
Things can get a bit loopy.
While James Corden looked like he was pretty far ahead, the Ramsays were still arguing
about the process.
While answering, Gordon took matters at his own hands.
And we all know the saying…
When there's smoke.
After Chef Ramsay put out the flames, he kept going!
Also, Chef Ramsay wasn't a fan of Corden's method of cooking all in just one pan.
The end result of the challenge?
Seemed like none of the breakfasts turned out all that great!
Unless you like burnt bacon, that is.
Failing to make sushi
After many years of experience as a professional chef, Gordon still thinks he has room to grow
and improve.
That's why he went to the Aaya restaurant, in London.
There, Chef Ramsay learned a bit of everything.
For his first task, Gordon had to do a dragon roll.
While the chef was flying through the whole dish, Gordon was having a hard time even with
the rice.
Gordon was nervous, which isn't something you see everyday.
Overall, it took Gordon 13 minutes to prepare the whole thing.
He also got a harsh critique from the chef in Japanese!
You'd think that while making nigiri, Gordon would have fared better.
After all, it's rice with fish on top!
That wasn't the case though.
Gordon still had a long way to go before he became a good sushi chef!
Marriage Fail
During Gordon's cook-along live, in the UK, Gordon was even more agitated than his
normal self.
Maybe because he was on live TV?
Chef Ramsay also got a bit of a shock during the show.
But the similarity was uncanny.
After a couple of other segments, Gordon returned to see how Martin was doing.
That was Tana, Gordon's actual wife!
Martin was getting pretty close and personal with Tana.
Something that Gordon did not appreciate at all.
Not done there, Martin closed it all with a pretty good burn.
The whole crowd seemed to appreciate that.
Career Fail
Gordon Ramsay is a man that is famous worldwide, with restaurants all over the globe; a lot
of Michelin stars; and countless seasons of TV shows.
He has done everything, from rescuing failing restaurants to doing travel shows that were
very dangerous.
On Masterchef Junior, Gordon is more like a teddy bear than his usual scary chef persona.
Not only that, he ends up doing things that probably are a little ill-advised.
Like wearing an elf costume, for example!
He looked more like he was trying to cosplay as Will Ferrell from the movie "Elf."
While walking out of a gingerbread house, you can hear his whole crew laughing at him!
Gordon seemed utterly embarrassed - he was even wondering if this wasn't just some
payback prank!
Gordon also seemed like he was wondering how he got to this place.
For such an illustrious career, at least Gordon doesn't feel like he needs to take himself
too seriously.
Failing to be respected by his kid
For the promotion of Tilly Ramsay's show, Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch, the youngest
of the Ramsays was doing a press tour.
The ever supportive father, Gordon tagged along to many interviews.
It was surprising, though, that he was able to stand being savagely burned so many times.
Overall, the whole interview saw Gordon Ramsay being roasted by his teenage daughter.
When asked to describe her show, Matilda said that it was different from her dad's.
Why?
Seems like good burns come in the family!
When asked why she was interested in cooking, Tilly also had another great comeback.
After that, it was time for Tilly to show off her skills and cook a dish.
After all, we've all seen how the two of them cooking together can get a bit messy!

Pharmacy Elites Head To Prison For $66 Million Military Fraud - Duration: 1:04.
Finally tonight some good news.
The owners of a Utah pharmacy in a Tennessee Medical Practice have been indicted for defrauding
the US Military Health System of 66 million dollars.
The indictment says Jimmy and Ashley Collins and the owners of the Utah pharmacy paid military
members in San Diego to recruit others into a fake medical study.
The goal was to promote interest and sales of compound medications.
Most of these special drugs were made by the Utah pharmacy.
As a result, the sales of these drugs jumped from 218 medications to nearly 5,000 within
two years.
In total, the executives scored more than 67 million dollars in reimbursements with
Jimmy and Ashley Collins getting 45 million dollars in kickbacks.
They spent the money on property, a yacht, and luxury cars.
These elites enjoyed the ride of a luxury lifestyle at the expense of the men and women
who served this country.
Now it looks like that ride is ending with handcuffs and a bus ride to jail.
That's what it costs when you violate justice.

Fox and Friends: "KIM JONG UN makes NEW DEMANDS" - Duration: 17:57.
welcome back will organizers of the migrant caravan that made its way to
United the United States a few weeks ago say they are planning another journey
with a new Caravan about this time next year but what point will their journey
prove and what kind of response can we expect from the US border agency here to
weigh in the president the National Border Patrol canceled Brandon Judd
Brannon always good to have you on the show your your perspective on this
particular topic it's always so helpful good to see you
thanks I appreciate you being yeah what is your immediate reaction hearing
that the organizers that that have put together this care that has been going
on for about ten years now was really only this year that people paid
attention to and the president making some moves what do you make of them
saying they're gonna do the same thing a year from now well what they're trying
to do is there's there's so many different factions that are against this
president and what they try to do is they try to bring negative attention on
him and this announcement coming at this time is no surprise the president's
popularity his poll numbers are on the rise and these groups the last thing
that they want to see is they want to see him win again in 2020 and so they're
gonna put out information trying to embarrass the president trying to drop
those poll numbers down and as popularity down and that's all this is
about it's just about the negative attention that they're trying to draw on
the President of the United States friend are they counting on the fact
that by this time next year laws will still be the same that you know that
ultimately they will be able to get granted the kind of asylum or status
that they'd want that children will not be separated from parents I mean are
they hoping that things don't change they are again if you look at it the the
push that there is right now on Congress the President did his job in 2017 we saw
historic drops and he did that single-handedly with nobody else's help
but what he expected was he expected Congress to step in and take the
necessary action that would have closed all of the loopholes that allow these
people that seek asylum to get granted immunity into the United States and then
never show up to the court appearance you know it's it's interesting that same
parent Etta said say that they that they bring these people up here to obey the
laws but yet when they get into the United States they fail to obey the laws
they failed to show up to their court hearings and the reason that they failed
to show up to their court hearings is because they do not have a legitimate
asylum claim all they're doing is they're playing on the loopholes that
that the laws allow them to do right now yeah what did you make this week of the
media bias a I know you felt a story the President had a roundtable with mayor's
from California talking about sanctuary cities and at one moment he was
responding not about illegal immigrants but about ms-13 gang members the media
didn't actually read the transcript and were criticizing him for that for those
that don't know talk to us about ms-13 are they animals in your opinion they're
they're they're worse than animals in my opinion animals do not treat other
animals the way ms-13 treats other human beings and to see the president come out
and give an actual explanation of what he was talking about you know we saw
tweets that were going out that were being taken down because they realized
that they were caught red-handed for once again attacking this president for
doing nothing wrong in fact for pointing out to the American public exactly
what's happening with these very dangerous and violent gangs again how
many times do we have to sit back and allow women to get raped children to get
raped women to get murdered and every every other thing that happens in ms-13
before we take a stand and say enough Sanaa I mean Brandon ms-13 motto is kill
rape control if that's not the definition of animal behavior I don't
know what is and ultimately their hatred blinds them to the nuance that someone
could have an illegal immigrant is not an animal but an ms-13 member
certainly is that they're doing those type things they are again I believe in
my opinion is is the ms-13 a lot of those individuals are worse than animals
and to see the president double down on that I appreciate it
sander said she said animals doesn't even go far enough I think a lot of
people agree with that Brandon Judd great to have you
as always good to see you appreciate it thank you all right coming up on the
show Jimmy Kimmel putting the blame on Trump and the GOP after the Santa Fe
shooting is this fair we're gonna debate that next Congress people or governors
who don't ever do anything because they're fearful that will hurt them
politically they care more about the support of the NRA than they do about
children good morning we are back with some quick headlines for you the first
volcano related injury now they reported on Hawaii's Big Island officials there
say a homeowner was sitting on a third-floor balcony when a lava burned
him this comes as fresh lava threatens to block a key highway serving as an
estate route also this more than two dozen people have been hospitalized now
after overdosing on synthetic marijuana known as k2 authorities looking for the
person distributed it on a New York City intersection all of those patients
though luckily are expected to survive thanks Evie Jimmy Kimmel not wasting any
time before turning the tragedy at Santa Fe High School and Friday into a chance
to get on his political soapbox yet again just hours after the shooting
Kimmel had this to say in his opening monologue
our leaders are sending their thoughts and prayers president Trump said he is
with the people of Santa Fe in this tragic hour and will be with them
forever except for when it comes time to do something then he will not be with
them either will any of the Congress people or governors who don't ever do
anything because they're fearful that will hurt them politically care more
about the support of the NRA then they do about children joining us with their
reaction and a fair and balanced debate Lawrence Jones editor in chief of campus
reformed org and Antoine Searight a Democratic strategist good morning both
good morning Antron I want to start with you I seem
to remember Jimmy Kimmel had his show during the Obama years and I was at a
news conference where my colleague Jake Tapper then at ABC now at CNN said to
Barack Obama you keep talking about gun control where you been BAE and he wasn't
very happy about it but the bottom line I'm asking you Antoine is what did
Barack Obama do for eight years about gun control if this is such a big
democratic priority well I remember
very distinctively after the Connecticut shooting this President Barack Obama
with tears in his eyes talked about how he felt it and he felt like his
personally call for Congress to do something remedy there had been many
tragedies before that so yes I was there and he was very emotional about Newton
now Newtown and rightly so but the point is you know for example he had a
democratic house and a Democratic Senate at the beginning of his tenure they
didn't get anything done well the only thing I can tell you my friend is that
he called for action and he led what leaders do here we are another shooting
in another scenario in which there would be 10 families playing in funerals that
did not intend to be playing the funerals in this manner and the truth of
the matter is we've seen this before I've been through it myself I know what
it's like to lose a friend in the mass shooting as I did in Charleston South
Carolina where my friend clementa pinckney the pastor that yeah
lost his life or eight other people and yet here we are almost three years later
and nothing has been done from this issue of gun reform at the federal level
so all I think what Jimmy was doing was using his platform to say we have to do
something and call hold these people accountable
we're certainly sorry about your loss and your friend but I want to get
Lawrence in here as well yeah let me say something I've never seen I'm a better
example of white privilege didn't Jimmy Kimmel
he can have he's a rich white man that has security but he doesn't want other
Americans to have security as well have the Second Amendment look we've seen
this happen we're in communities where people look like me and Antoine they
have passed gun legislation but it didn't work so
I'm gonna tell you this we've tried it your way we've tried to deliberate where
they have gun control and it did not help our communities and so I'm not
willing to disarm myself one thing I will say is that I wish the Left would
be a little bit more honest can they just say they don't like the Second
Amendment but Lawrence Lawrence Lawrence this should neither be left versus right
this should not have a Lawrence this is not about whether Democrats want to take
away your gun look I love Lee and I'm a proud cwp holder but the truth of the
matter is we need to prevent do everything we can to prevent these
things from happening so what in the suggest we do what do we do because
there's no legislation we meet we need reasonable gun reform measures to
prevent another parklands shooting to prevent another Newtown that's what we
need we need leaders who will lead on issue right back the bottom line though
is if no gun law law would have prevented this situation and that's why
Antwon could couldn't name not one law to prevent of course I can like for
instance people who else should never have gun issues I mean never be have
guns in their hands that's one prime example that that you and I should agree
with he stole this good from it I'm not speaking since this issue Lawrence I'm
saying are in general Antwon Lawrence we always enjoy having
you on have a good Sunday thank you all right thank you the terrorists
organized violent and deadly riots along the Israeli border the same day the u.s.
opened its embassy in Jerusalem so why did one high school hold a moment of
silence for Hamas yes Hamas we'll get into it and how old is too old to be
living with your parents Pete wants to know but no one couple going to court to
force their thirty year old son to get a life get a job and move out
this is Bill's yard and bill has a no meet in my yard policy but with Scotts
Turf Builder we welcome back well president Trump and South Korean
president moon speaking on the phone overnight their conversation coming as
kim jungeun makes new demands just days after threatening to call off
the June 12th Summit in Singapore Garrett na is live in Washington with
the latest details good morning Garrett hey good morning y'all the past couple
weeks have shown us that that June 12th summit with North Korea is still a long
ways away it was scheduled three weeks ago and twice already
Kim jong-un has threatened to cancel this weekend he added a new demand to
his list for South Korea to return 12 women who defected from the north and
2016 calling it a goodwill gesture ahead of the peace talks the South has said it
would look into the issue but previously indicated the women escaped by their own
free will this latest issue throws another wrench into the sensitive
nuclear talks here's how President Trump responded earlier this week to Kim's
threats of pulling out we are dealing with them now we may have the meeting we
may not have the meeting if we don't have it that will be very interesting
we'll see what happens North Korea isn't the only one raising tensions in the
region though this weekend China state media released video showing a
long-range nuclear capable bomber landing on an island in the disputed
South China Sea for the first time China's president previously pledged not
to militarize the disputed area it's not clear what the US response will be to
this latest move particularly given that China is expected to need to play a big
role in the peace talks with North Korea if they're going to be successful but
that is one of the many issues president Trump in South Korea's president likely
spoke about during their call yesterday ahead of their meetings here in
Washington on Tuesday back to y'all it's a big deal all that closely Thank You
Garrett lutely China flexing their muscles trying to write some other
headlines want to ring this morning Starbucks making a new policy official
anyone can oust it in their cafes or use in restrooms even if they don't buy
anything changes come after the controversial arrest of two black men
who had not bought anything at the store in Philadelphia last month sparking
nation outrage the company also plans to close
thousands of stores on May 29th for racial bias training from the store just
a public hangout now and Liberty University's graduation ceremony getting
political hunt secretary dr. ben Carson speaking to graduates but it is former
President Jimmy Carter speech that is stealing headlines with this jab oh yes
at President Trump this is a wonderful crowd it's even bigger I hate to say
this that it was last year joke - well President Carter referring to the term
administration's claim over the size of the crowd at Trump's inauguration last
year of these commencement speeches and parents are outraged after a prestigious
school holds a moment of silence listen to this for Hamas New York City's vegan
school pausing for 60 after 60 people were killed in protests along to the
Gaza Strip the Islamic militant group claims 50 of them were members one man
telling the New York Post quote I did not send my child to a New York City
public school to pray for Hamas operatives the school has still not
responded I'd love to you know try and justify gallops through mud and fog
right into the winner's circle at the Preakness Stakes watch
the three-year-old called racing to victory on the sloppy track and
Baltimore similar to the conditions that we saw in the Kentucky Derby victory
just two weeks ago with justifies now one win away from the coveted Triple
Crown he will have a chance to win that title at the Belmont Stakes that is in
June Wow looking good one no praying for rain for that third one yeah it was
almost like people in the kayak there was a runaway all right well there
is this pretty incredible story that I think many people can relate to that's
being reported there is a family of parents that are trying to kick their
son out of their house and they've gone to court they've got a date set I think
for for May 22nd to actually hear this thing they've sent their son is at six
note speech yeah it's five written notices of Christina and mark rotondo
they live in the Syracuse New York area they have a filing before the Supreme
Court of the New York State to try to get their son Michael who's thirty years
old evicted from their depleting with them they've already go to their son
Michael after a discussion with your mother we have decided you must leave
this house immediately you have 14 days to vacate you will not be allowed to
return we will take whatever actions are necessary to enforce this decision Mark
and Christina rotunda parents and their side so properly all right this is
another letter that's done say organize the things you need that you need for
working to manage an apartment cell the other things you have that have any
significant value there are jobs available even for those with a poor
work history like you get one you have to work if you want help finding a place
your mother has offered to help the mom will still help you the his Michael's
defense is you have to give me six months notice legally and you cannot
evict me as your child I've lived here for eight years with no chores and no
expenses I deserve to stay right here would want to leave that you got a great
place to live good food to do a video games Xbox art at the time you can stay
I can stay in their health care till 26 so add a few more years I have you had
an incident like this at home it's been hard trying to get the kids out give him
a little push friends and fathers docs and age is too old
at what point should you leave the house and would you take it to the Supreme
Court of your state if you had it you'd get your
without emails from friends comm Adam how about you I'm ready to move back in
with my parents right start doing my laundry start cooking it's a great deal
but now that my parents are legal recourses an option I don't know if
they're gonna let me back in there's there's a plans there now take a look at
a forecast across the country actually a really busy night in the heartland right
in the center of the country we saw some severe weather firing off anything in
the red that would be a tornado warned storm everything you're looking at in
the blue those are wind reports and everything in the green that's hail so
big storms continuing to move across the country at this hour it's going to
linger until the early morning hours here this morning as we're seeing this
line of storms firing up moving through portions of Texas in Oklahoma now
running up into into areas of Missouri still seeing rounds of rain across the
East Coast as well this is happening anytime you see warm air and cold air
bumping against each other here's your current temperatures there's the warm
air there's the cold air we're gonna continue to see some of this firing off
throughout the rest of the day guys all right beautiful out there Adam always
that's sarcasm this professor now reportedly identified as the FBI's mole
inside the Trump campaign as President Trump calls on the DOJ to release their
spying documents tom Fitton says everything needs to be declassified
right now and joins us next let's david bossy Bennet Sarah Carter and Maria
Bartiromo all you're lied this morning not just a
few no we've got to get getting started yeah wake up come join us
you

V: The jacket shoot is starting soon.
(O of YOUR)
RM: Finally, we are shooting the album jacket again.
JH: It's O concept out of YOUR.
JM: The photo concept is related to good-byes.
JM: We are shooting photos of expressing the different stages of good-byes.
JM: And we are shooting O.
JM: Please look forward to it.
SG: The start is always hard.
SG: Because we have to test everything.
SG: It's oil.
RM: I think it came out nice.
JH: Aren't you curious about J-HOPE's beauty of corruption?
V: To be honest, it's my first time having black hair since debut.
V: I was saving it a lot.
JH: Jin, his shoulders worked hard.
JIN: They worked hard. You worked hard x2.
JK: I was told to cry (by a director).
JK: I couldn't get into the emotion, so I couldn't cry.
JH: What was the shooting for today? It was shooting for O, everyone. JIN: O shooting.
V: Now, our point is all black hair.
JH: Oh, we became all black.

JM: All the members dressed up in all denim today for the first time.
V: I didn't expect tears to be in the album.
JM: It's also a problem for being good at staring match.
JK: It's hard to express reserved sadness.
JK: I can do crying aloud.
JK: Crying doesn't match with my life vibe.
JH: Should I start the fancy acting?
RM: I am still sad. I keep thinking about sad things now...
RM: Jin hyung's those expressions are just...
RM: It's too sad...
(Jin sobbing)
JIN: The remaining members, fighting!

JH: It could be a mess tomorrow. We all could be bloated?
JIN: Oh, you might be right. RM: Seriously, I am a little worried.
JH: Fighting! SG: Let's meet tomorrow. JIN: For the shooting tomorrow, fighting~
(Y of YOUR)
V: Hello~ everyone.
JM: It's the last day of jacket shoot.
SG: We are in Booan in North Jeolla-do.
JM: I will work hard again today. Fighting!
RM: Originally, we believed the love was destined from DNA.
RM: But the narration now is about the moment realizing it was 'Fake Love'.
RM: That's why we are at a lonely place.
RM: Also expressing despair.
RM: Like the title of the album, we are showing tears too.
RM: We are shooting Y today.
RM: We are shooting the first version the last.
RM: Including me, all the members came out the best today.
JH: I think it will come out pretty and nice.
JH: First, I am pretty.
(Embarrassed laugh)
JK: The spring is here, everyone.
SG: I finished shooting just now.
SG: I am leaving to have a proper meal.
SG: Bye~
JM: It's the only photo shoot outside.
JM: I was told that this is the same place as the shooting location for 'Save Me' MV.
JIN: I think this photo shoot is very clean.
JIN: Shooting from different angles from the same place.
JIN: It could be more comfortable to look at.
RM: Falalala~
V: ARMY, thank you for waiting.
V: Thank you.
RM: If no one tells you, this place could look like Savannah Africa instead of Booan North Jeolla-do.
JH: Savannah Savannah~
JM: It's an album which I put my soul in.
JM: I think the photos will come out really pretty. RM: The will come out nice.
JH: You can expect high.

SG: Where are we now?
JH: It's Booan.
(Car sound)
JIN: We came to Booan by a car like Booang~
JH: It feels different shooting outside.
RM: Do you think the jacket photos will come out nice?
JH: I like all of them. YOUR, I like them all.
JM: I am curious how the photos will turn out.
JH: I am sure all will like the photos, YOUR.
JM: It's an album with our soul in.
RM: That's right.
JH: Please show a lot of love!
JH: Bye! RM: Y!
JIN: Bye! Y!
JM: We will meet you soon everyone!

The Story of India's Fastest Man on Ice | Far From Home - Duration: 11:03.
In a way, I didn't really look for luge.
In fact, it seems like it was the other way around.
I was 16 at the time, barely over the minimum age
to be able to do the sport.
This is the local luge, as we call it.
This is how we practice over here in the Himalayas.
(SHIVA KESHEVAN 5 TIME LUGE OLYMPIAN)
That's our favourite spot right here,
the Rohtang Pass highway.
It's no perfect life,
but you still put up with it, because you're doing this
for something you love.
(FAR FROM HOME PRESENTED BY BRIDGESTONE)
(6 UNLIKELY STORIES OF OLYMPIC HOPE)
(MANALI, INDIA)
So we have some from the first Olympic Games in Nagano.
16 years old.
That was a very overwhelming experience for me,
to enter that stadium and feel the gaze of the world on you.
That was the first time I felt,
"OK, I'm not doing this for myself,
"I have a responsibility here."
After that I competed in Salt Lake City, in 2002.
2006 I competed in Torino.
2010 I went to Vancouver, then 2014 in Sochi Games.
Now I'm trying to qualify and compete in PyeongChang.
My first Games was in '98, and I still haven't received
a single Rupee from the sports federation.
All the sports associations are based in Delhi, in the plains,
where people have no idea even what snow is.
So these are the two magazines.
(VIVEK MUKHERJI, MANAGING EDITOR, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED)
I work for Sports Illustrated, the India edition.
We have written about him, Shiva, for quite a long time.
We call him one in a billion, and actually he is,
in the truest sense of the word.
India's got about 10 medals in winter sports,
and all 10 belong to him.
He chose to compete under the Indian flag,
despite knowing the problems he had to deal with.
The development of winter sports has been much slower
than what I originally expected.
My wife, Namita, she was so supportive.
She said, "Let's make this happen together."
She quit her job, and we started going out
approaching companies.
It became a shared dream.
I was pushing him
and he was doing what he loves doing.
We approached I think 100 companies,
before the first one said, "Yes."
I've always believed in him. I still do.
There's my old home-made sled.
Me and Yan, my friend from France, we made this together.
All hand laid fiberglass.
I remember before the Torino Olympics,
I was trying to spray paint it, just before the Games.
I did a terrible job of it,
but eventually it ended up all right.
For one of the games, I actually had to do
an online crowdfunding campaign to fund my training.
And we said, "Whoever's going to support me,
"we're going to put their name on my suit."
So I had a suit with tens of thousands of names on it.
That felt great, I felt like, there are so many people
who actually support me, I didn't realise it.
And so I felt like I belonged to something bigger.
When it was just me and Namita, we were care free,
we were travelling the world.
Even though there were a lot of hardships,
we did what we loved, so there were never any complaints.
Now, things are a little more complicated
because I have a daughter.
Come, let's go get the eggs.
Come, come, let's go get the eggs, OK?
I'm going to be away for 5 or 6 months, and I'll see them for
just 2 or 3 days during this entire period.
That is something that pains me a lot,
but also now I know that I'm not just competing for myself,
there's also my daughter. I want her to look back
and say, "OK, my Dad did this." And maybe she can be
proud of it, and she can get some inspiration from it.
So the reason I'm doing the sport is slightly changing.
- OK? - Thank you, Malai.
Thank you, Malai, thank you.
Shiva is a fantastic father.
For him, his family is important.
It gives me a lot of confidence,
when I know that I'm important to him as a wife and the mother
of his child,
and that our daughter is important to him as well,
very important. Everything he does, I know he's thinking
of his family.
We know this is the last Olympics, possibly.
Possibly the last Olympics.
So we know we have to work through this as well,
and this will be over as well,
but I am trying to tell him, live each moment and
enjoy it, and we'll be here waiting for you.
We'll be at the finish line cheering for you.
- Good luck, good luck. - Thank you.
(LAKE PLACID, USA)
We'll begin with our men's Nation's Cup Race
here in snowy Lake Placid.
Shiva, 2 minute warning for our Nation's Cup Race.
Now through 10, down through the labyrinth,
through the bend, slide in the chicane.
And Shiva Keshavan will be through and down
with a time of 53:01:0.
That was a bad run.
Horrible run.
Not enough edge, too cold.
I wanted to give this track a last personal best.
It wasn't to be today, luck wasn't on my side.
(SHIVA KESHAVAN IS NOW COMPETING
(IN HIS SIXTH OLYMPIC GAMES.)
(PYEONGCHANG, SOUTH KOREA)
India, represented by Shiva Keshavan.
Keshavan is appearing at an incredible
sixth Winter Olympics.
His record goes back to his first Games
in 1998 in Nagano, when he was just 16 years old.
Keshavan, President, Keshavan, President.
He has no big support by sponsor from Federation,
so we are the only support for him.
Main support.
So we go anywhere he races.
It's everyone together, they feel it
everyone, and it's a lot, so it's, there's responding,
and it's something which everyone
wanted to do till the end.
So we'll follow him forever.
My daughter's going to be here to watch.
So, a lot of my friends and family,
they never saw me slide,
saw me compete, so...
Will be a good group out here.
Going to be nice to perform for them, you know?
You have the last training run,
and now it's just four more runs.
Four more runs for me, that's it.
I think I've done my thing, maybe I have
another role to play in luge as a coach.
Get some kids, let them go further.
And I hope that my journey can be an example
for many, many other people
that never went on the beaten path.
I just went on what I thought was good for somebody
born and brought up in my circumstances.
The sixth Olympic Games.
Growing up in the Himalayas,
he made sleds out of wood with bearings for wheels.
The Olympics have given me
a very deep perspective of life,
and the Olympics really brings this out.
Every story which is so special.
I was the first person in my country to do this.
And now, I can be the person to steer
the future generations of my country on a certain path.
My journey is just the first step
in a long, long run for Indian sports.
Everybody thinks they have to give you advice.
You know what you want, and you have to follow
your own convictions.
Which is why it's important to be true to yourself.
And I think there's one great thing that sport
and the Olympic Games has taught me.
If what you're going for, if what you want,
is important enough to you,
it'll be worth making those sacrifices.
The journey and the battle is always against yourself.
Shiva, Shiva, Shiva!
It's never against anybody else.
(PYEONGCHANG 2018 MARKED SHIVA'S LAST OLYMPICS.)
(HE IS NOW BACK HOME, IN MANALI, FINDING THE NEXT)

Vanguards Best Performing 2018 ETFs (Top Vanguard Investments of 2018) (Vanguards Rockstar ETFs!) - Duration: 23:45.
what is up YouTube!!!!! hey what's up guys Mike the CPA here and we are back for a
very special video thank you so much for coming back and check it out money in
life TV we are glad to have you here especially my sidekick chipper who's
coming to me what is it because in today's video we're gonna be talking
about the very best performing Vanguard ETFs of 2018 these are the best
performing ETFs through May of this year and I am excited to share them with you
I've got a couple ones I've shared with you before in previous videos but also
some new ones as well and these are the rockstars I don't know if you guys knew
that Vanguard has some rock stars but these are the rock star ETFs for
Vanguard of 2018 and we're talking about that right now
and as always guides a spreadsheet you're gonna see in this video is
completely free that's right your favorite four letter F word mine as well
it's completely free for you to download I'm gonna link it up in the description
section of this video so make sure to download it for yourself and you can
review the data at any time you'd like alright guys this is how this is gonna
work especially if you're new to this channel welcome what I like to do in
these videos if you have not seen my previous Vanguard videos is I'm gonna go
over each fund one by one then we're gonna look at the stock holdings all of
all four of them there's four in total that we're gonna pick compare against
each other so what so we can understand what these ETFs own and then in the last
part we're gonna actually look at the comparison we're gonna compare all four
together I've if you've seen my Vanguard videos before well thank you for
watching and thank you for tuning back in I've made a few tweaks to the
spreadsheet you're gonna see later on in the video so make sure to stick around
and check it out let me know if you like the new format especially in the way we
compare them and I got some new data here for you guys so the first one we're
talking about is VCR no no not the VCR that you stick the movie into no no this
is the Vanguard consumer discretionary ETF so this is of the top four
performing of eighteen this is the first one now they have research for all of
these guys is 5/8 of 18 so we're a little bit into the month of May and as
you guys know the performance of these investments can change throughout the
year but I would highly bet that at least one of these if not more of these
will still probably be the top performing of 2018 it for Vanguard
in my opinion so but we'll have to see as the year progresses VCR this this
consumer discretionary ETF so what's got it so the yield in these things guys is
very small because these are really like growth type of ETFs and so you're not
gonna see much of a dividend yield from these things but growth is what you're
gonna get so if you're looking for growth these are ETFs that I would
recommend checking out on your own time and doing your own research on one of
the new items I've dropped in on each tab of these spreadsheets guys is the
beta for each of these ETS that's right just like a stock an ETF has a beta as
well if you do not know what beta is you're
looking at me you're like what the heck is that don't worry especially for noon
and investing I'm gonna link up a description or link to what beta is down
below in the description section below this video so you can read that in your
own times to get a better understanding of it okay so your today return I've is
4.7 percent so far so we're about five months in or about little bit over four
months have passed and this thing has around a five percent rate of return
this has been in existence for 14 years I've included the product summary not
gonna read this to you guys so you guys can obviously read this in your own time
because I want to get through this video pretty quickly
so let's go down the the pipeline here so currently this one VCR it's running
at about a hundred and sixty three dollars a share right now for each share
of this ETF so if you want to get in that's what
your initial buying price is around right now as of the time of this video
now these are the average annual returns notice this is through the month of
March 31st and as you can see here it's four for one year for one whole year
from May - May it's gone up about sixteen percent three years we're
looking at about ten or eleven percent five years about fifteen percent ten
years is about fourteen percent so what this basically means guys is that this
is you're getting these average returns every single year so since inception and
this thing has been around since 2004 obviously as you guys can read that and
it's got about a ten percent rate of return every single year and in the past
year it's been stellar of course last year the stock market went way up and
it's been great okay moving down the line here let's see what this thing owns
the top ten holdings now how can you go wrong with a top five lineup of this so
you're looking at in the first five stocks you're looking at Amazon what
person does not want to own Amazon I know I own Amazon individually in my
portfolio it's my best performing stock Home Depot you know Home Depot com we
all need to be able to renovate our homes fixer-upper homes and it's pretty
hard to shop for that stuff online so I like the fact that I host Home Depot and
I wish I personally still owned home be Depot but I don't so
maybe I should be buying this ETF and then Helens Comcast that's the next one
and then it owns Disney and as you can see Incredibles 2 is coming out so it
owns Disney and Netflix Netflix is one of the best stocks of this entire year I
think year to date Netflix individually as a stock is already up over 60% the
last time I checked but check my numbers so it owns some
pretty stellar stocks let's go back to the sheet and as you guys can see here
you can read down the list now one of the things I've done differently oh and
notice these 10 stocks represent 50% of the assets within this ETF so it's
pretty heavily weighted in these 10 investments and I've lit owns a total of
367 stocks and I've listed the top normally I would list the top 100
holdings but going forward I'm similar to the top 50 and you can read them all
right here and owns a bunch of large corporate blue-chip type of stocks which
I really really like okay so that's VCR let's move on to M G K M G K so this is
the Knicks rock star of this ETF and this I've actually talked about MGK in a
previous video if you guys have might have seen my Vanguard Growth Fund video
it's on the for Vanguard growth ETFs that are specifically designed for
growth there's there's two domestic growth funds that are for the US and
there's two international growth funds as well
so if you haven't seen that video here's the thumbnail for it but I can link it
up down below and you guys can go check that out and it talks about the
Vanguard's funds that are specifically designed for growth alright MGK was one
of my favorite in that video and like I said that the yield on these themes guys
it's it's it's very small and oh just so you guys know the fees I don't have the
fees listed right here oh I guess you can see it right here in the summary see
where it says expense ratio it's point zero seventh of a percent and so your
dividends are gonna cover the fees which I love that I love that so this is the
beta it's a little bit more volatile at one point one not not extremely volatile
though it has year-to-date return of five point one four percent
and years in existence is 11 years so it hasn't been around as long as some of
the other ones but it's doing pretty well
it's one of vanguards very best ETFs in their entire lineup
all right links own I forgot to mention guys especially if you're new to this
channel on these Vanguard videos this link right here if you click it it will
take you right to the actual fund itself if you want to review the fund detail so
see how it takes you right here this is where I got the majority of the
information for this video it's all coming directly from the horse's mouth
which is Vanguard the horse is angered alright let's go let's go ahead and
continue on let's move down here what about rates the returns for these things
because that's what people are really interested in okay so in the past year
it's gotten about a 19 percent rate of return in a three year period it's got
about a twelve percent rate of return let me zoom in a little bit so you guys
can see better five years it's average is about fifteen percent over the last
five years ten years return is about eleven percent and since inception 9.8
nine percent so most of these are gonna since inception average about that ten
percent however the the one year the three year the five year that's all
gonna differ so this is the MGK and what the heck do they own now back at the end
of the year you guys might have remembered if you've seen my Vanguard
growth ETF video this I kept this in here so you can kind of see that
Vanguard regularly updates their indexer which which I should say how they
allocate the money within this ETF because as you guys know an index fund
mirrors and index right an electronic an exchange-traded fund such as this but
then it's up to that investment firm which event its Vanguard in this case
that they decide how they're gonna allocate that money within that index
and of what stocks get the most weight so in there in this case as you can see
as of 1231 some of these have changed this is its number one holding and and
apples been doing fantastic this year in fact if you guys pay attention to what's
going on Apple they're actually using a lot of the new tax cuts from the tax
cuts and Jobs Act and they're repurchasing more of their shares so
there their stock has really been going up quite significantly and I own apple
individually and it's been doing very well Google is so when you see the word
alphabet that's Google okay then there's two plot there's I think there's two
kinds of Google shares there's Class A and Class B basically there might be
more I'm not an expert on it but that it owns Google and of course it owns it
owns Facebook you can't go around I mean Facebook has been doing great despite
all the controversy it's it's doing fine and then Home Depot and stocks like that
so this is its current holdings over here guys as of 3:30 118 and but you
know these can always change okay and they these 10 stocks represent 40% of
this growth fund ETFs assets and I've listed the top 50
here you can compare them I've kept this in here since I already had the day that
you can compare how their stocks and they own about 130 stocks total you can
compare how what's changed since December 2 now if you'd like to if you
really want to see what this thing owns ok now let's go to vb k vb k is our next
one guys and then v BK is vanguard small cap growth ETF and another rock
star we've we've been taught at least i've been taught that if there's a
smaller companies there's a larger chance they can grow an increase in
value faster than than larger companies like blue chips because they have a lot
of room to grow and so naturally i would expect this one to to outperform mg k as
far as a growth fund is concerned and it does and so far your date it has been so
yield is less than 1% on a dividend very small dividend but it pays for it's
gonna pay for your investment fees on this betas one exactly one so it's not
it's not an extremely volatile which I like your least in my opinion
year-to-date return it's already got a six point three nine percent rate of
return as of the making of this video and it's been around for 14 years so not
bad let's go down here here's the overview and average annual performance
here we are this is what you guys want to see and as you've told me over time
show us the returns on these things okay one year we're looking at
17.3 9% three years eight and about eight percent five years 11 and a half
percent 10 years 11 percent and since inception about nine point three seven
percent so all all great returns on these things year-over-year and because
remember guys this is the average annual performance and so every year like over
the last ten years you're getting at about an 11 percent rate of return every
single year which is like 10 times or 11 times what the bank will pay you so it
makes a significant difference over time and you building your wealth and me you
and I building our wealth if we can get higher rates to return every single year
and have our money outpacing inflation is very very important and so I would
feel pretty comfortable putting parking a large amount of money over time rather
than putting a lot of my money in a savings account I would I don't I feel
like this any of these might be a good investment alternative to grow up your
money quicker but not worry too much about the losing of money either just
like this is one of the other funds that was in my Vanguard Growth ETF and I've
so I've kept what was in there in December and here's what's in here now
as of 3:30 118 so it owns now these are smaller companies so some of you might
recognize the name some of you might not it's alright I dug a little bit into it
so Copart inc cuz like what is that it's actually an online salvage leader in
auto and insurance then it has TransUnion which is you guys know is the
credit reporting agency then we have the Old Dominion freight line Inc so if I'm
like what does Co part Co parts pretty cool so this if I can find it here's the
co parts website guys so this is the company's website itself and it sells
thousands and thousands of caudal parts and sells vehicles as well so it's
pretty cool what they do and there's TransUnion they they're the ones that
you know saying check your credit score for free that's what they do check your
credit score folks and then the Old Dominion freight line company well here
it is they are a shipping company that ships things around the globe so pretty
cool I always find it fascinating to learn
about some of these companies especially the smaller
because there's a lot going on out there that we just don't know about at least I
feel like I don't know about so I'm always learning something every time I
make one of these videos alright moving on so here's the top 50 holdings just
like it promised you guys on all of these oh I almost forgot to mention how
many stocks this thing own apparently the fund manager whoever decides how
many investments to choose in this fund really likes the number of the beast
scary scary okay moving on moving on let's go to let's go
Levesque one so if the best-performing Vanguard ETF of this year the very best
bgt and mandu I wish I knew about this one earlier on but I just discovered
recently VGT Vanguard Information Technology Fund
beta is a little bit higher than 1% r1 I mean your to date return it's already at
a 10% rate of return your to date and we're only in May in a one year period
this thing has produced at twenty seven and a half percent rate of return holy
after three years it has averaged about 18 to 19 percent per year after five
years twenty percent rate of return on average return after five years of 20
percent rate of return ten-year average of 14 percent and since inception about
10 percent so in the last five years this thing has averaged about 20 percent
per year nice very nice okay so what kind of companies is this
beast owned let's take a look all right it's number one holding this Apple the
then Google followed by Facebook followed by Intel followed by the number
one job replacing machine the creators of artificial intelligence Bitcoin
mining champion and Vidya oh my goodness and it even owns things like visa and
what in the hell is wrong with that guy he is way too excited to be going into
debt he must be buying something really really enjoyable
alright guys in of the top 10 holdings 55% of their portfolio is weighted in
these timber investments so they're very heavily weighted in technology just like
their name implies alright now let's go over to the part of the video where we
compare all the stocks against each other so let's look at the stock
holdings real quick guys alright this is the part of the video where we compare
this top 50 stock holdings against each ETF that we've shown in this video and
wherever there's green that means that the other funds own it as well so as you
can see these stocks in green Amazon is very popular apples very popular
Facebook's very popular Google many of them owned the exact same stocks
especially especially these three MGK VC R and V T however notice that vbk hardly
anything is similar why is that because they own very small companies whereas
these guys own very large companies so that's why vbk does not have any
duplicates right here but yeah I mean when I look at ETFs if you're just a
quick tip if you're trying to figure out well what's if you want to buy
individual stocks well this is a pretty simple way to kind of see what stocks do
very well and the fact that Vanguard the one of the largest
investing institutions in the world has these stocks in multiple versions of
their different ETFs gives you a pretty clue pretty clear indication of what
stocks might be good to buy individually don't just something to consider not
saying to do that but just something to think about all right and last but not
least we are gonna compare these rock stars to each other
okay guys now let's go over to the final part of the spreadsheet my favorite part
is where we compare all four of these funds against each other let's go take a
look right now so I've changed the format a little bit I was able to fit
all of them on one tab so that we can compare all of them on screen and we
have I've listed them all right here and I've listed the average annual return of
each one so that you can see them all on one screen all together and you can see
the yield the beta its etc it's all there for you and as you can see
year-to-date it's very clear that VB km v GP are the
leaders so far year-to-date however over a 10 year period though guys definitely
VG TN MGK our fantastic stocks are fantastic ETFs I mean now
you just have to remember MGK in the long run might eventually overtake vgt
we'll have to wait and see this has been around MGK has been around for 11 years
where V GT has been around for 14 years but solid solid ETFs I would expect any
one of these by the end of this year to be the best-performing Vanguard ETFs
year if I was gonna put my money on it if I was gonna put my money on which ii
would probably do that i'm gonna guess it's gonna be v GT or mg k so we'll see
how this smaller growth one does throughout the year but my main choice
would probably be V GT if you're looking for solid growth I mean guys that owns
fantastic companies I don't see Apple going anywhere
you know visa and Vidya these are companies in my opinion that are here to
stay Microsoft those are it owns fantastic companies those companies for
the most part I've been reporting fantastic earnings and they have
provided some of the most stable solid growth year after year after year if it
works within your portfolio now always remember you have to consider risk you
know what type you know your age your how much risk you're willing to take can
you afford to invest this money can you afford to lose it now what I've done
just down here is I've from Yahoo Finance I've pulled the graphs so that
you can see the different graphs charted out on on screen so that
you don't even have to go to Yahoo Finance to do this I've done it for you
guys here's the 5-year comparison as you can see VCRs done pretty well over the
last five years and so it's the gray the gray line is VGT VCR is the blue line
and MGK is the red line and of course purple is vbk so I've color-coordinated
with the color of the tabs down here so it's easy to see here's the five years
the max comparison so this the max comparison would be like eleven to
fourteen years in this case cuz I think 14 years is the longest these ETFs have
been around now notice vgt is at three hundred nine
percent return so if you have been fortunate enough to start investing in
vgt back then you would have tripled your money tripled whatever you put into
it so ten thousand would be thirty thousand one hundred thousand would be
three hundred thousand you guys get the idea but look at all the other ones you
would have easily made your money two and a half times what it was had you
known about these back then but as far as I can go far as I know I think these
things have a bright future and look it over a two-year period guys vgt has
averaged or has gotten about a seventy four percent rate of return it's pretty
insane it's pretty insane so it's doing fantastic alright guys I hope you really
enjoyed this video I hope you got something out of it
