I got a question about an extra degree or work experience.

I think you guys know what I'm going to answer here, but I'll read the question here.

This is from Jason and Jason says, "I have a job opportunity from Amazon as a software

development engineer and a bursary opportunity."

Actually, I had to look up the word bursary.

I didn't know what it was.

"To do an electrical engineering degree which will benefit my career.

Which will benefit my career more?"

Bursary, just for you guys that are also uneducated like me, means that someone is basically giving

you a paid scholarship to go to school.

Apparently, some companies are offering to pay for his degree to get an electrical engineering

degree, but he's already got a degree or he's graduating.

He says some additional info.

He says, "I'm 19 and I'm graduating from an engineering degree majoring in game design,"

man, that's cool, "This year.

I know this is a very niche degree."

Yeah, but it's pretty freaking cool!

"The bursary is from a company which also does software development, but isn't as well-known

as Amazon.

My hesitation with taking the degree is that I then have to work for this company afterwards

which means the opportunity from Amazon will have to be postponed at least another four

years."

When you say postponed at least another four years, it means it may not exist.

Let's be honest here.

"As an important note, the degree I'm graduating from this year allows me to complete electrical

engineering in only an additional two years.

This means I'll have two degrees at the end of my five years.

My current degree has taken me three years.

Thanks for all the help.

John, PS, I'm from South Africa, if that's of any use to you."

No, but I'd like to visit someday and I'll get all the emails saying, "Come visit in

South Africa."

Here's what I would say about this.

The bursary thing is interesting, but you don't want to have a bunch of degrees on

your wall.

What you want to have is money.

What I mean by this is like these degrees are not going to matter.

You got a degree.

Great, that's fine.

You really don't even need a degree to be a software developer at this point.

If you got a degree in game design, that's pretty good.

That is a pretty niche degree, but you probably—I think, I mean like my perception is if you

got a degree in game design, you're probably a good developer.

Like someone who just has a CS degree, okay, that's great, but game design that says, "I

will hire you for anything."

One, because you probably had to do a lot more complex mathematics because game development

is harder than regular development for the most part, and two, because it's cool.

I like to hire people that are cool.

No.

I mean people are actually going to be interested in that.

It's kind of a nice thing to have actually because people will literally hire you.

I have gotten hired for a job before.

One of my first jobs I got hired for was because the guy that was interviewing with the job,

he said, "Have you ever played EverQuest?"

I said, "No, but I'm really interested in playing a request."

He's like, "So you think you'd play EverQuest?

We play EverQuest."

I was like, "I will build my own PC and play EverQuest," and he's like, "You're hired for

the fucking job."

It didn't go exactly like that, but it was pretty damn close, like I basically got hired

because I was willing to play EverQuest.

Possibly a bad decision in my life playing a EverQuest, although I did have fun.

Hours gone of my life that I'll never get back into the black hole.

Yeah.

It was an interesting experience, but yeah.

People will just hire you for that.

I'm going way off topic, but here's the thing.

Let's talk about what this opportunity is.

You've got your degree.

It's game design.

You have an opportunity to work for Amazon.

Jeff Bezos is kind of a slave driver.

You can check out the book review I did on The Everything Store.

You might actually want to check that up before you go and work for Amazon because it's definitely

a harsh work environment from what I understand and everyone I've talked to there.

I could be wrong but, that's what I've heard.

I've never been to Amazon and been whipped by anyone there.

If I do visit, if you guys want to give me a tour of Amazon and whip me, just send me

an email.

I'll be glad to zoom on over there and you can do whatever you want.

In all seriousness though, I don't really see any benefit to you having your degree

paid for, missing the Amazon opportunity when you already a degree and then having to go

to work this other company that's not as good, and they're probably not going to pay you

as much because they don't have to pay you as much because you're obligated to work for

them, right?

I will total just take the Amazon job.

I mean check on Amazon, like said, and make sure you're willing to get involved in that

work environment.

If you are, then take that job.

Don't worry like having multiple degrees hanging on your wall is going to be cool.

I mean when you have people over everything like, "Look, I have a game design degree and

here's my electrical engineering degree."

Then they're like, "Oh, that's great," but it is not going to really help you in your

career.

Not really.

I mean who cares?

They're going to look at your resume and be like, "Oh, well, he's got two degrees.

I guess we should pay him twice as much."

It doesn't happen, right?

It's going to be your skill.

It's going to be what you actually can do.

If you've already got this opportunity, you're 19, you got a chance to work in Amazon, that's

a good resume builder.

Put that freaking thing on your resume and call it done.

I don't think there's really a decision to make here in my mind.

All right.

Hopefully, that is helpful to you and I haven't totally screwed you up.

If you do get to work for Amazon and get whipped by Jeff Bezos, obviously send me a picture.

I wish you the best.

I'll talk to you next time.

Oh, and don't forget, just click the Subscribe, click the bell if you haven't already.

See you later.

Trail Running | Week 8 | Kris Gethin's Man of Iron - Duration: 11:56.

Better slow down here.

I'm going into the 30 mile an

hour limit.

Don't want to get a speeding

ticket.

I'm Kris Gethin.

I'm going to be training to

prepare for an Ironman.

Most people give themselves two

years.

I'm giving myself six months.

And we're going to do it.

My legs are absolutely

destroyed now.

So what's the best thing to do?

Running.

Good morning!

I believe it is day 50 of this

video trainer. It is

Monday.

Yesterday we participated

in our very first open water

swim. We hadn't used our wet

suits before,

we hadn't been in murky water,

we certainly hadn't been kicked

in the head before,

which we experienced all.

And, uh. We,

we had a success.

We completed our one-mile swim.

So it was good to get that out

of the way.

Not have those fears going

around the back of our mind,

holding us back before we going

into the

half Ironman.

Can't wait to do it again.

Today I'm kind of going by

instinct, I'm navigating my way

around the floor. But it's

good, my instincts are serving

me well. Just coming in and

kind of making it up as we go

along. But that's

what I do in pretty much all of

my video series.

Going by instinct.

That's why I do these video

series with you.

Because I kind of want to

understand how the body reacts

and how it feels.

So I can relate more to the

viewer.

And so now we'll go

for an ab exercise based on

how we feel today. Let's go and

have a goosy gander.

Day 50 completed,

as far as weights workout is

concerned.

Did the triceps,

shoulders, abs.

Abs feel blitzed.

But unfortunately,

like, I'm a little bit pissed

off, because I want efficiency

with these workouts.

So I like to destroy my triceps

and my delts before my swim.

But I haven't had that

opportunity today because we

came in late and there's a swim

class that starts here now.

So I've got no choice

now but to come in later to do

my swim.

We're in a bit of a rush this

morning. We've got to leave

here, go straight up to Camel's

Back and get our run in

before I start filming

in the morning. I got a pretty

jammed day, so excuse me if I'm

a little bit rushed.

We've got a lot of exercises,

or a lot of movements, sets,

to get through. Let's hit it.

Took about 50,

50 minutes.

50 minutes and we're done,

we're in and out.

Gonna head up to Camel's Back

now,

get a bit of a trail run.

So, hope you're fit.

So we got Leah that's

going to be joining us.

As you may have noticed,

Leah was in the leg workout.

Leah is from Boise here

originally.

When I used to see her training

in the gym,

I didn't notice her because she

hardly looked like she

trained. And then I come back a

few years later and I was like,

what the

fuck happened to you? It's like somebody threw,

like,

bits of meat on

her frame and just, like, grew.

So we got a one mile warm-up

trail running.

So of course it's

not fucking tough enough for

me, so I have to put a weights

vest on. Cause I just want to

make it a little bit more

difficult, so then when

I get the weights vest off,

I feel kind of normal.

So after the one mile warm-up,

we have eight of these rounds.

It's half a mile

at a seven out of 10 effort.

That's a half Ironman effort,

apparently. Seven out of 10.

Keep it controlled and focus

in on that effort.

Then a 90 second jog after

each, OK?

We repeat that eight times.

And then we cool down

with one mile, just easy.

Oh fuck. That wasn't wasn't a

seven out of 10. What was it?

It's

a fucking 10 out of 10. Only

because I was running

so slow, I didn't even look at the speed, but

my heart rate was up to,

like 170.

And I was only a little slow, but I had to walk.

Well no, I didn't walk,

I was almost walking.

I just had a little,

little tiny jog.

Oh no. And I fucking collapsed.

Oh man.

What's really hard,

which I really like,

is I'm doing this trail running

and wearing this,

and after the leg workout,

it's really hard for me to pick

my legs up now.

I'm kind of shuffling,

which is good.

Because bigger people generally

do that anyway after awhile of

running. They kind of shuffle

because they can't pick up the

size of their legs.

Now I understand what Alex

is talking about when he says

that.

So hopefully doing this is

actually strengthening it now.

What up? It's that time again.

And that time is

back and biceps.

Very early morning.

It was a late night,

not much sleep.

But I travel to Europe this

afternoon,

so maybe I'll get some shut

eye on the plane.

Hopefully. Possibly.

Leah Dolan, IFBB pro,

could be joining

us today.

And then

I'm going to go out for my

bike.

I was going to do the watt

bike, but then I thought,

you know what?

I don't know if I'm going to

have the chance to go outside

on a bike whilst I'm

travelling.

I'd better take up that

opportunity now while I can.

So I'm going to come back

home and quickly

get onto the bike and get

out for an hour of drills.

Okay let's do this.

We're going to start, like,

an inverted row.

Got to be engaging the core.

I'm doing a lot of core work.

Throughout these three

disciplines of the swim,

bike, run.

And then I'm going to go

straight into,

like, more of a

lat row.

And then I'm going to support

my legs and pretty much do the

same: lats and traps.

Hitting biceps now.

What we're doing is a bosu ball

curl with the cables.

And by doing it on a

bosu ball obviously it's

helping with the core

engagement,

the stability of the ankles and

the knees.

Alright. So it's time for our

cardio now. We just raced back,

had our Re-Kaged. Sunshine and

I are going to go up to a place

called Lucky Peak,

where it's got some steep

inclines so we're going to be

able to increase the intensity

and the effort by doing so.

Because what we've got to do

after our warm-up and our

slight build up towards our

maximum efforts,

is five minutes

at about an eight out of 10

effort.

And then we've got one minute

at a nine out of ten effort,

and then four minutes easy.

We're repeating that four

times and then we've got our 10

minute cool-down. So it's not

that long of a workout,

but it will be intense.

Day...

What day is it? 54. Day 54. Yeah, it's day 54 and it's

finally hit me that our life right now kind of

revolves around these work outs.

I never thought I'd be out here

in lycra.

But here we are.

Beautiful day out. Beautiful day out and.

Now we're going

to Joe and the Juice,

going to have a nice cup of

coffee. Yeah.

Bit of a nice toasted sandwich.

Beautiful, healthy, gluten-free

toasted sandwiches there.

And we're actually taking

on an optional run today.

30 minutes.

30 minutes skip around Hyde

Park.

It will take,

like, 30 minutes to run there.

Yeah. Alright. Joe the Juice is

nearby?

Alright. We just stopped at Joe

the Juice,

to get ourselves a little juice

here. And I don't know if you

can see up there...

Well it's called the Ironman.

With some added ginger in it,

as well.

So,

this way?

So usually on these video

series you'll notice that I

definitely don't suggest

juices,

especially ones that are

containing fruits because of

all the fruit sugar.

But on this video series it's

not so much a

fat-loss program as such,

as it is muscle building and

performance.

Fat loss will come at it

towards the end,

so juice is

obviously being a healthy antioxidant when we've got a

lot of free radical damage

happening.

Is the perfect antidote.

Anybody that says antioxidants

don't belong in a performance

or muscle building regime are

bloody crazy.

What, am I going to ban fruits

now from people's diets?

Bloody hell.

You're nuts.

Alright. So off we pop.

This is Hyde Park.

Isn't it beautiful?

We just finished our little

galavant around there.

We're going to do our

proper sessions

later and tomorrow in

Cardiff when we get there.

We are restricted in time when

we're travelling,

so we just have to make sure

that we do get it in,

best way we can.

So we're going to head on back

now to our little Airbnb.

And it is freaking little.

It's so little I found

the fridge in the wardrobe,

it's that small.

And

when I sit on the toilet,

I have to sit on it at an angle

because I squish against a wall

otherwise.

It's crazy.

I've never sat on a toilet

sideways in my life.

But that's what you get when

you have big lats and

shoulders.

What a gorgeous place to run. Yeah, isn't it just? It's cause

you're in Cardiff now, babe.

This is beautiful.

Southeast Climate Science Center Announcement - Duration: 1:42.

so on August 1st we'll be starting a new period a five-year period actually of a

reauthorization of the climate science center.

The center began in 2010. NC

State competed for and won so this is a sort of a reaffirmation of the work

that's been done here for the past five years but it's also an expansion so we

will be incorporating other universities within the center. The mission of the

Science Center as its developed here at NC State is really three parts one is to

help people get an understanding of what the exposure to global change processes

look like. The second is to understand what are the impacts of climate change,

and then the third part of the mission is really to help people make what we

call climate or land-use change adaptation decisions. We're able to make

use of the great variety of research expertise that's on campus and then by

having that connection to the federal side it becomes a national network as

well. We're able to really undertake the mission of the Department of Interior at

a much higher level than we could just doing it with our internal science

resources. As far as the university goes we've really established a nice unique

program of supporting graduate students. So this supports graduate students who

are doing climate science related research but it gives them an

opportunity to sort of interact with other people with different perspectives

to really learn some multidisciplinary sorts of perspectives on climate science.

Now that it is on a table we can start looking to the future and really start

looking at the things that we can do so I see the possibilities as being very

very intriguing and exciting

My Skincare Product Problem - Duration: 15:43.

Hey guys! I just wanted to show you something,

that I bought a week ago.

I bought some skincare products from DM (Drugstore in Germany).

Because I thought it would be nice, if I would kinda prepare my skin before my wishtend order arrives.

The Items I bought weren't that cheap either...

and my problem is: I am kinda allergic to most of it...

it's so stupid

I CAN use the Sheetmasks

I bought two different types. An Aqua Sheetmask from Balea with extra freshness

and alga extract for more moisturizing

and I also got the...

Balea Beauty Effect Sheetmask for more freshness and with hyaluronic acid

I used both of them and they felt really nice

I didn't get any irritation at all.

Maybe you shoul know what kind of skin type I am.

I have combination, pimple skin with rather large pores. Very oily in the T-Zone. VERY dry on the cheek area.

So you see my skin need some extra care for different areas.

And as you can see here, I wrote down the order in which I want to use these products.

And one of the products that I actually CAN use is...

the Balea Oil Cleanser for even removing water resistent make up on dry skin.

that's the reason I bought it, because I wanted to use it on my whole face.

and it contains argan oil and is very gentle to your skin.

so you don't get irritated skin at all.

Next one is the Biore activated carbon cleanser

it contains activated carbon, which should help to clean the pores 2x better than other cleansers

My problem is, that it also contains menthol,

well it works really good and cleanses the face nicely, but my skin burns after using it, because of the menthol.

it seems like my skin reacts really sensitive thereon.

I used the "mask of magnamity" from lush quiet often, which cointains mint, but it seems to be much worse with actual menthol.

My whole face is red and burns after using this cleanser...which isn't quit what I wanted.

I also bought this:

It's the Balea Beauty Effect Eye & Lip Serum

*it doesn't focus!*

*And I can't reach the touchscreen without any finger left*

it also contains hyaluronic acid and it should tighten and brighten your skin.

it is OKAY, I guess. Nothing special.

It's super sticky.

Which kinda feels really weird on the skin and not very comfortable.

I only use it around the eyes, not the lips, because I don't like the feeling of it.

This was merely a moderate success.

I also got an oil free nurture serum.

matt and non comedogenic, which means it doesn't tend to produce or aggravate acne.

it's suitable for oily and combination skin, wherefore I wanted to use it on my T-Zone.

BUT my skin burns afterwards like hell.

so I couldn't use it on my face or my T-Zone.

another total bummer...

yeah...that's quiet sad.

But I also got something that I actually CAN use, which is the...

eye cream.

Reviving eye cream with lotus extract for swollen eyes and dark circles.

AND without any perfume, which is great, because many of these products do contain it!

I kinda hate it...

The effect is really great!

It feels very light and is NOT sticky at all.

So I can still use this cream (my camera really ANNOYS me atm!!!)... even when I get my korean skincare products from wishtrend!

And this was a mistake I made...

It's a Balea Vital concentrate against pigmentary spots

Because I have such a pigmentary spot on my right cheek near the jawline

there are a lot of little spots, forming a big spot together.

And I thought it would be useful...but the problem is...

it's for mature skin (40+)...at least I think it said so on the package

It said for mature skin anywhere (yep, on the cardboard package)

I THINK it was...

And I made a mistake because there was also one for "younger" skin.

but it really helps, I think...at least it doesn't feel weird or anything...

my skin isn't irritated at all after using it, so I might continue with it.

And I am curious about the long term use...if it really makes a difference, or not.

And now on to my biggest problems of them all: the day- and night-cream!

But I have more issues with the day cream, than with the night cream to be honest.

I bought the Balea Effect Daycream again with hyaluronic acid and SPF30

Because I read and heard in every article & beauty video,

that you should use SPF, because the sun damages your skin and fastens the aging a lot during the day!

My problem is though, that my skin doesn't like this cream AT ALL! And I don't know why I react allergic against it.

My skin gets red immediately, burns and itches - so I think I am definitely allergic against something in there!

And this is the night cream I bought. Balea Teint Perfection Sleeping Cream, for perfectly cared skin in the morning.

And I have to say I had NEVER any issues with Balea products before!

I don't know WHY I am being irritated by it... maybe because I use different products from different companies...

but I used to mix Balea products with Garnier products all the time...and it was never a problem!

And now all these creams and cleansing stuff

kinda damaged my skin real bad...my dry areas got even more dry on the cheeks. As if it were winter...my skin is all cracky.

which really sucks in summer...

Atm I only use the oil cleanser and the activated carbon cleanser to clean my skin.

And use Nivea (cream) afterwards.

To get my skin moisturized again...

And I don't want to try anything else from DM atm...

because the Garnier products have no effect at all...

it's not like my skin gets irritated or itchy after using it - no! But all the matt finish creams or pimple creams I used had no effect at all on my skin till now...

But I ordered the "Sharla Box" with Sharlas Night Routine Products from wishtrend.

AND I also ordered the "KLAIRS Deep Cleansing Package" from Amazon!

There are 5 products in this package, the same you'll get, if you order it on wishtrend.com!

that's it.

The package includes:

I am going to use this as soon as it arrives!

The oil cleanser is kinda like the one I got in here - for removing dirt and make-up.

The facial polish is step 2 after the oil cleanser

and after using the charcoal soap, you'll use the toner

And because this should also be moisturizing and not drying for your skin,

I got so many recommendations to try it

Also my wishtrend order arrived today in Germany.

It shouldn't take that long for them to arrive at my doorstep I think...

That's why I want to give all this to my mother...maybe she can use it and doesn't get any irritations at all.

But I will keep the things, that work for me (the sheetmasks & the eye cream)

But the creams and....OH I didn't showed you this!

I also bought this Balea micelle cleansing water, because it's perfume free and I heard that micelle water should be very good for cleaning!

but well...I only used it in my morning routine...

and it also just irritated my skin. It was all red after using it, burned like hell and itched like crazy!

It seems like something in there causes an allergic reaction too...maybe the witch hazel water?

..or maybe something else?

there are tons of other ingredients...like alcohol...

but I don't know. I wanted to take a picture of the ingredients, because I have an appointment at the allergist doctors office on August 22nd

and I just wanted to check if I have any allergies and if yes, against what!

I will take pictures of all the ingredients and take them with me

so maybe he already knows some ingredients that may cause some allergic reactions...

And maybe he can test me if I AM allergic.

Before my wishtrend order arrives and before my wishtrend unboxing video (which will absolutely happen!)

I just wanted to show you the products I am currently using - and which doesn't work at all for me.

Please write in the comments down below, if you also used some of these products and if yes, did you also got an allergic reaction?

Or if you're maybe a different skin type and the products actually DO work for you?

I am just really curious about your experience - because like I said, I never had any issues with Balea products before.

And I am just really sad know because this costs a lot and I am not used to products that irritates my skin like these.

It's my first time that I have to give skin care products away because I am kinda allergic to them.,..

but well...you didn't see anything of me today...sorry for that...

Let's see if I am presentable for you...I guess not though!

OMG no...I am just all natural today...but as you can see:

my skin is still red in this and this area...as well as here...

I also put on a heavy layer of Nivea (cream) again.

Maybe you can't see it...but my skin is still very very dry

And I got so many tiny pimples ...

Not so good at all.,...

I just hope that the wishtrend products will fix all this mess,

I just wanted to show you all of my "before" products.

Thanks a lot for watching! And I am really excited about your experience with maybe not so good types of skincare products.

Have a nice day and see you in my next video!

Middle School Student Gets Microsoft's Attention with His Letter About Math - Duration: 3:20.

To start?

Okay.

The purpose of the writing the letter was to make the real-world contact that yes see

math is being used right now in Microsoft at this moment.

Dear Bradford L. Smith, I am a student "Sky is one of my smartest kids he's very intelligent but"

he is very quiet, "My math teacher is making me write this letter to a

business that we like of course I take Microsoft, "since you guys manufacture

every spoiled squeaky little teen or child's favorite thing, the Xbox, also you

guys have awesome computer software and hardware in fact I'm typing this on

Microsoft Word.We were studying stock by the way and you guys did good on the

rate. I know letter won't be opened by up by

you on the spot as I'm sure you guys get millions of letters so what makes mine

special? I bet whoever is getting this letter whether it be your secretary or

whatnot is probably just throwing this away or something like that. It was at least

nice to write a letter to such a big company keep up the good work running

that company and get the money rolling in it's really exciting

On the outside Sky is not going to show much emotion inside he's gonna go like

look what I did.

Hi there. Hi. How are you? I got your letter.

I'm Brad Smith oh and you're and you are

the man right Sky? Yeah that's cool oh that's great you're good at math is that

right? Yeah pretty good good for you well you know I got this letter it came in

one morning and I thought this is one great letter I love this letter so I

hear you like games yeah would you not playing games would do you during the summer?

Look up games. Look up games or you know I brought you something today.

I brought you a new computer right yeah it's a brand-new Microsoft Surface

Laptop just for you you can use this to do all kinds of

things hey pleasure pleasure meeting you thank

you great only think that the real world cares about them you know they're just

doing their math but this is going to make a big impact on those

kids to say wow look Microsoft showed up interviewed us we're interested in what

we did we always know at bottom that it takes great teachers to bring the best

out of bright students but it's a powerful reminder to see that in action

that bad for a little letter and Microsoft we've been working with little

schools for a long time especially on subjects like middle school math because

what we've learned what the country knows is that middle school math is a

game changer if kids make it through seventh and eighth grade math and they

succeed they're almost certain to keep succeeding they're almost certain to

graduate from high school and one of the things that makes this story exciting is

that this is a middle school that clearly has some great math teachers

doing really creative work drawing kids in helping them not just learn to count

and focus on things like algebra but showing how math has a real-world impact

and as schools are finding out across the country that makes all the

difference

The Boardwalk (VTS_01_1.VOB) - Duration: 11:51.

Past the sign by the poisonous manchineel tree on the beach ...

... an easy climb on some small boulders to reach the beginning of the boardwalk

A bluff: there were no dogs. A dog would be too far from home to think this was its territory.

Looking back toward the beach from the boardwalk, note the landmark rock.

Now we proceed.

The boardwalk continues ahead, between the boulders.

These stairs detour to a rock shelf overlooking the beach.

View from the rock shelf

The lounge

Oddly, the top of this rock is tiled.

The boardwalk ends at a flagstone path in a yard.

I did not venture into the yard but took some photos.

Notice all the plant pots.

Back to the beach ...

The landmark rock

The side of the landmark rock

End of boardwalk protrudes just beyond the foliage

EXTRA | "It's good for people to expand." - Duration: 0:58.

I don't know how many people in town necessarily go to art museums.

And yeah, this is a little offbeat. This is, um, something as far as abstract painting

but it's good for people to expand, and to look at, and to understand artwork.

Makes people think a little bit outside the normal thing that they see

but I think people appreciate it and they get to see it up close.

The comment you heard from everybody - think how long did that take him?

How did he visually come up with that idea?

So you're now getting people to start thinking about the actual part of art

and I think that that's great.

We want a little bit more education, a little bit more spice of life, a little bit more

what you're not going to always see just going up and down main street.

Trail Running | Week 8 | Kris Gethin's Man of Iron - Duration: 11:56.

Better slow down here.

I'm going into the 30 mile an

hour limit.

Don't want to get a speeding

ticket.

I'm Kris Gethin.

I'm going to be training to

prepare for an Ironman.

Most people give themselves two

years.

I'm giving myself six months.

And we're going to do it.

My legs are absolutely

destroyed now.

So what's the best thing to do?

Running.

Good morning!

I believe it is day 50 of this

video trainer. It is

Monday.

Yesterday we participated

in our very first open water

swim. We hadn't used our wet

suits before,

we hadn't been in murky water,

we certainly hadn't been kicked

in the head before,

which we experienced all.

And, uh. We,

we had a success.

We completed our one-mile swim.

So it was good to get that out

of the way.

Not have those fears going

around the back of our mind,

holding us back before we going

into the

half Ironman.

Can't wait to do it again.

Today I'm kind of going by

instinct, I'm navigating my way

around the floor. But it's

good, my instincts are serving

me well. Just coming in and

kind of making it up as we go

along. But that's

what I do in pretty much all of

my video series.

Going by instinct.

That's why I do these video

series with you.

Because I kind of want to

understand how the body reacts

and how it feels.

So I can relate more to the

viewer.

And so now we'll go

for an ab exercise based on

how we feel today. Let's go and

have a goosy gander.

Day 50 completed,

as far as weights workout is

concerned.

Did the triceps,

shoulders, abs.

Abs feel blitzed.

But unfortunately,

like, I'm a little bit pissed

off, because I want efficiency

with these workouts.

So I like to destroy my triceps

and my delts before my swim.

But I haven't had that

opportunity today because we

came in late and there's a swim

class that starts here now.

So I've got no choice

now but to come in later to do

my swim.

We're in a bit of a rush this

morning. We've got to leave

here, go straight up to Camel's

Back and get our run in

before I start filming

in the morning. I got a pretty

jammed day, so excuse me if I'm

a little bit rushed.

We've got a lot of exercises,

or a lot of movements, sets,

to get through. Let's hit it.

Took about 50,

50 minutes.

50 minutes and we're done,

we're in and out.

Gonna head up to Camel's Back

now,

get a bit of a trail run.

So, hope you're fit.

So we got Leah that's

going to be joining us.

As you may have noticed,

Leah was in the leg workout.

Leah is from Boise here

originally.

When I used to see her training

in the gym,

I didn't notice her because she

hardly looked like she

trained. And then I come back a

few years later and I was like,

what the

fuck happened to you? It's like somebody threw,

like,

bits of meat on

her frame and just, like, grew.

So we got a one mile warm-up

trail running.

So of course it's

not fucking tough enough for

me, so I have to put a weights

vest on. Cause I just want to

make it a little bit more

difficult, so then when

I get the weights vest off,

I feel kind of normal.

So after the one mile warm-up,

we have eight of these rounds.

It's half a mile

at a seven out of 10 effort.

That's a half Ironman effort,

apparently. Seven out of 10.

Keep it controlled and focus

in on that effort.

Then a 90 second jog after

each, OK?

We repeat that eight times.

And then we cool down

with one mile, just easy.

Oh fuck. That wasn't wasn't a

seven out of 10. What was it?

It's

a fucking 10 out of 10. Only

because I was running

so slow, I didn't even look at the speed, but

my heart rate was up to,

like 170.

And I was only a little slow, but I had to walk.

Well no, I didn't walk,

I was almost walking.

I just had a little,

little tiny jog.

Oh no. And I fucking collapsed.

Oh man.

What's really hard,

which I really like,

is I'm doing this trail running

and wearing this,

and after the leg workout,

it's really hard for me to pick

my legs up now.

I'm kind of shuffling,

which is good.

Because bigger people generally

do that anyway after awhile of

running. They kind of shuffle

because they can't pick up the

size of their legs.

Now I understand what Alex

is talking about when he says

that.

So hopefully doing this is

actually strengthening it now.

What up? It's that time again.

And that time is

back and biceps.

Very early morning.

It was a late night,

not much sleep.

But I travel to Europe this

afternoon,

so maybe I'll get some shut

eye on the plane.

Hopefully. Possibly.

Leah Dolan, IFBB pro,

could be joining

us today.

And then

I'm going to go out for my

bike.

I was going to do the watt

bike, but then I thought,

you know what?

I don't know if I'm going to

have the chance to go outside

on a bike whilst I'm

travelling.

I'd better take up that

opportunity now while I can.

So I'm going to come back

home and quickly

get onto the bike and get

out for an hour of drills.

Okay let's do this.

We're going to start, like,

an inverted row.

Got to be engaging the core.

I'm doing a lot of core work.

Throughout these three

disciplines of the swim,

bike, run.

And then I'm going to go

straight into,

like, more of a

lat row.

And then I'm going to support

my legs and pretty much do the

same: lats and traps.

Hitting biceps now.

What we're doing is a bosu ball

curl with the cables.

And by doing it on a

bosu ball obviously it's

helping with the core

engagement,

the stability of the ankles and

the knees.

Alright. So it's time for our

cardio now. We just raced back,

had our Re-Kaged. Sunshine and

I are going to go up to a place

called Lucky Peak,

where it's got some steep

inclines so we're going to be

able to increase the intensity

and the effort by doing so.

Because what we've got to do

after our warm-up and our

slight build up towards our

maximum efforts,

is five minutes

at about an eight out of 10

effort.

And then we've got one minute

at a nine out of ten effort,

and then four minutes easy.

We're repeating that four

times and then we've got our 10

minute cool-down. So it's not

that long of a workout,

but it will be intense.

Day...

What day is it? 54. Day 54. Yeah, it's day 54 and it's

finally hit me that our life right now kind of

revolves around these work outs.

I never thought I'd be out here

in lycra.

But here we are.

Beautiful day out. Beautiful day out and.

Now we're going

to Joe and the Juice,

going to have a nice cup of

coffee. Yeah.

Bit of a nice toasted sandwich.

Beautiful, healthy, gluten-free

toasted sandwiches there.

And we're actually taking

on an optional run today.

30 minutes.

30 minutes skip around Hyde

Park.

It will take,

like, 30 minutes to run there.

Yeah. Alright. Joe the Juice is

nearby?

Alright. We just stopped at Joe

the Juice,

to get ourselves a little juice

here. And I don't know if you

can see up there...

Well it's called the Ironman.

With some added ginger in it,

as well.

So,

this way?

So usually on these video

series you'll notice that I

definitely don't suggest

juices,

especially ones that are

containing fruits because of

all the fruit sugar.

But on this video series it's

not so much a

fat-loss program as such,

as it is muscle building and

performance.

Fat loss will come at it

towards the end,

so juice is

obviously being a healthy antioxidant when we've got a

lot of free radical damage

happening.

Is the perfect antidote.

Anybody that says antioxidants

don't belong in a performance

or muscle building regime are

bloody crazy.

What, am I going to ban fruits

now from people's diets?

Bloody hell.

You're nuts.

Alright. So off we pop.

This is Hyde Park.

Isn't it beautiful?

We just finished our little

galavant around there.

We're going to do our

proper sessions

later and tomorrow in

Cardiff when we get there.

We are restricted in time when

we're travelling,

so we just have to make sure

that we do get it in,

best way we can.

So we're going to head on back

now to our little Airbnb.

And it is freaking little.

It's so little I found

the fridge in the wardrobe,

it's that small.

And

when I sit on the toilet,

I have to sit on it at an angle

because I squish against a wall

otherwise.

It's crazy.

I've never sat on a toilet

sideways in my life.

But that's what you get when

you have big lats and

shoulders.

What a gorgeous place to run. Yeah, isn't it just? It's cause

you're in Cardiff now, babe.

This is beautiful.

How Much Walking You Need To Lose Weight | Natural Cures - Duration: 4:09.

Comfortable, practical and above all, economical.

Walking is one of the most recommended physical activities, to help you improve your body's

health and well-being.

Besides, walking is super healthy.

But how should you walk?

And how much should you walk?

With what kind of intensity?

And for how long?

Watch this video until the end and you'll find out all of the answers to these questions.

If you aren't used to walking, start slowly.

Five minutes is a good start.

Then, gradually increase the length of your walks until you're able to walk 30 minutes

a day.

By walking for 30 minutes a day you're already doing great things for your body, reducing

the risk of a stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.

Not only that, but walking will improve circulation, because it reduces blood pressure for 24 hours

after you finish exercising.

Your heart valves will work better, facilitating the circulation of hemoglobin and the oxygenation

of your body.

Here are some more benefits of walking daily:

1.

It combats depression

This isn't new information.

Physical activity releases hormones called endorphins, which are responsible for the

sensation of pleasure and relaxation.

2.

It improves mental health

Everyone may not know this, but walking helps reduce problems in the brain, such as poor

memory and an attention deficit.

In addition, it slows the aging process and keeps the body in shape.

3.

It combats diabetes

Did you know that walking stimulates the production of insulin?

Insulin is a very important substance since it's what makes the cells in your body absorb

glucose.

Walking stimulates its production because the liver and pancreas are stimulated to work

during the walk, causing more blood circulation through all the organs.

4.

It facilitates weight loss

When we accelerate our body's metabolism, we burn fat.

Therefore, the faster we walk, the thinner we're likely to become.

5.

It helps avoid osteoporosis

Walking stimulates and strengthens our bones, increasing their density and preventing osteoporosis

and arthritis.

It does this by improving our circulation.

6.

It decreases stress

Our body and mind become more relaxed when we walk, decreasing the likeliness of depression

and other diseases.

7.

It improves sexual activity

Good circulation and oxygenation of cells can only result in the health and well-being

of the body.

So I'm sure you're not surprised to know that walking 30 minutes a day increases sexual

desire and energy.

Walking to Lose Weight

To burn calories, you need to walk at a constant rate.

This is something that most of us don't pay attention to.

Also, it's very important to be aware of the number of steps.

Walking about ten thousand steps in an hour is usually suitable for those who want to

lose weight quickly.

If you walk like that, you're body will be able to burn fat.

To lose weight, you should walk at least three days a week at this intensity.

Don't worry!

You don't have to count the steps!

The pedometer is a very good piece of equipment that can help you on your walks.

It's a portable device that counts a person's steps by detecting the movement of their hips.

In addition to counting your steps, it also tells you your average speed and how many

calories you burned.

It's sold in sporting goods stores and on the internet.

Making a Marking Gauge | Prototype | Scrap Wood Project - Duration: 4:36.

Welcome back again to clean Phil wanted. I'm still

It's not clean in here. I think in the last episode you saw me make this prototype of a

Cornice what I realized while I was making this is what I need is another gauge

I need a pencil gauge. I have some

all cuts of Oak and

some brass

Brass pieces that I want to try to make a decent cutting gauge

So we're gonna get to that eventually but this is going to be the prototype for that, but this is technically for this

so that I can make this a

little Less Worrisome for me

Good

Put a knockoff cesta. Just the tip

I

Probably should have drilled halfway and come back through

Properly how you're supposed to use this kind of it, but I didn't when you go to chisel this out clean it out

You want to make sure the chisel blade Edge?

Is perpendicular to the Grain this grain is running this way?

If I do it this way with the grain it's going to just split

All right

It is about a quarter of an inch bit a little bit wider than that

Wax this piece of

so

It only it closes up to

there, so

it would be better if I could get this a little bit closer down to like a quarter of an inch and

then to think that through so

If you do this, and you make a wedge like this put it on the outside

That's a win. That's a win. That's a big win, and it's easy go make one. Hey subscribe like comment

I'm happy with that

Thanks for watching

How To Make Money Off Social Media - Duration: 4:20.

Hey! I want to talk to you

and show you

how to make money off social media.

My name is Luis Congdon, creator of the Profit From Facebook course

a free training on how to use Facebook to profit, as well as creator

The Podcaster's Secret Weapon and co-host of the

Thriving Launch Podcast

Okay

You want to make money from social media, and you're wondering "How do I do that? Does it even work?

First, let me tell you, it does work and two, let me give you some tips and tricks on how to profit and use social media to make money.

The very first thing you want to do if you're going to make money from social media is start

sharing your expertise. Start telling people what you do.

Here's an example. We could do something on social media, let's

say Facebook, "Hey guys! I just got done creating an awesome podcast and a course on how to

crush it with podcasting. Go to this link and go over to my website." You can do something

like that inside of Facebook. It's great. You could also say "Hey guys, do you ever

have this problem with podcasting and it's tough? Well, here's the solution." or "Hey,

would you like to make money off social media? Here's the YouTube video that I created."

You bet. This is one of the things I'm going to do after this video. I'm going to be sharing

with people, "Hey, you want to make money from social media? I've created this video

that teaches you how to do it." Immediately, right there, what I'm doing is

I'm sharing with people that I'm an expert and driving them over to my content whether

it's just a video on YouTube or to my website. Let people know that you're an expert. Start

sharing content where you're an expert. People won't buy from you unless they believe that

you know something. So you better start sharing the things that

you know, and people won't know to buy from you unless they know that you do something.

Start telling people what you do and start teaching them about what you do.

Here's my next tip. Let's just imagine for a moment your social

media is big. It's doing awesome. You've got an engaged audience, and you want to know

how do I profit from this? Well, one of my friends has an Instagram page

called "Coffee with Men" or something like that. It's a cool page where she posts pictures

of really sexy guys with their shirts off or guys hanging out and drinking coffee.

I asked her, "Hey, do you make money from this? You've got a lot of followers. It looks

cool." She said, "Yeah. I'm making a couple of thousand dollars a month just from posting

pictures." And I asked her, "How are you doing that? I want to do it." And she said, "Well,

companies are starting to approach me because first, models want it. Models want to pose

for my big Instagram following, and coffee companies want their coffee mugs or coffee

brands inserted into the images. So if you're growing your social media following,

you can find sponsors or companies to pay you money to insert their products or services

right inside your social media. Here's another way to profit from your social

media expertise. If you're crushing it with social media and

you're growing it, you're going to find a lot of people that want you to do the same

thing for them. For example, I'm a very busy person. I have

a lot of stuff on my plate. So I've hired several people to manage things like Instagram

and Twitter for me. Even my Facebook following, I'm starting to hire different people to do

the stuff for me because I'm busy. But I just don't hire anybody. I want individuals with

proven success in the area. If you're crushing it with social media and

you haven't monetized it yet but you've got a big following and an engaged audience, just

go out for people like myself. And say, "Hey, I've noticed that you're doing a podcasting,

you've got a website and this social media branding stuff that you're doing. I'd love

to help you grow your social media. Can we chat about it?"

Go ahead. Grow your social media following. If it's doing well, go and start asking other

people if you can do it for them and create some price charts.

So we've dived into some of the ways that you can make money off social media. But I

have a lot more strategies, and they don't require tons of work. You can start profiting

today with them. Click on the

Division of Large Numbers: Long Division - Duration: 5:42.

It's Professor Dave; let's learn how to do long division.

After we learned about the concept of multiplication, we had to learn how to multiply not just small

numbers together, but also large ones, and we saw some different strategies for how to

do this.

The same goes for division.

Sometimes it's easy to divide two numbers.

Twelve divided by three is clearly four, since four goes into twelve three times.

But what about six hundred twenty-four divided by three?

Just as there is an algorithm for the multiplication of large numbers, there is one for division

as well, and it is called long division.

This technique is usually remembered with great disdain from childhood, but if we look

carefully, we can see the elegance of this technique, and appreciate the patterns that

it reveals.

It works just like our multiplication method, simply in reverse.

Instead of multiplying one number through the units place of another number, then the

tens place, and so forth, we will divide one number by another starting with the largest

place value of the larger number, and then the next largest, and so forth, moving down

until we get to the units place.

Let's try this with the example we mentioned.

We place the first number, the dividend, inside this symbol here, and the other number, the

divisor, goes to the left.

Now we just go through the dividend one number at a time.

Three goes into six two times, or in other words, six divided by three is two, so we

put a two here in the hundreds place of the quotient.

Now we do two times three, which is six, place that directly under the first six, and then

subtract.

Six minus six is zero, so we draw a line and write a zero here.

Then we drop the next digit down and repeat the process.

The next digit is a two.

Three does not fit into two, or rather, two divided by three is less than one.

So let's put a zero here.

Zero times three is zero, two minus zero is two, and then we drop down the five.

Three fits into twenty-five a little more than eight times, because three times eight

is twenty-four, so let's put an eight here, then eight times three is twenty-four as we

said, and subtracting from twenty-five we get one.

Now there are no more digits to drop down, and three doesn't fit into one, so this

is called the remainder.

Three fits into six hundred twenty-five, two hundred and eight times, with one left over,

or we can say that six hundred twenty-five divided by three is two hundred eight remainder

one.

So that's all there is to long division, we go one digit at a time just like we did

with multiplication, except we go left to right instead of right to left, since division

is meant to be the reverse of multiplication.

Let's try one more for practice, three hundred ninety seven divided by eleven.

This time we have to divide by a two-digit number.

Eleven doesn't fit into three, so let's put a zero, get a zero down here, which leaves

us with three.

Then we bring down the nine.

Eleven does fit into thirty-nine three times, so we put a three, multiply to get thirty-three,

subtract to get six, and then pull down the seven.

Eleven fits into sixty-seven six times, so we put a six, multiply to get sixty-six, and

subtract to get one.

Eleven doesn't fit into one and we've run out of digits in the dividend, so that

will be thirty-six with a remainder of one.

If we don't like these remainders, we could keep going to get decimal places.

Just put a decimal here and add a zero, drop it down to get ten.

Eleven doesn't fit in ten, so we put a zero, multiply to get a zero, and subtract to get

ten.

Then we pull down another zero, and we get one hundred.

Eleven fits into a hundred nine times, so we place the nine, multiply to get ninety-nine,

and subtract to get one.

We would soon find out that this process could go on forever; giving alternating zeroes and

nines forever, and this is our first introduction to repeating decimals, which will come back

later when we look at the difference between rational and irrational numbers.

For now, let's check comprehension.

How to Install Retrofit LED Lights 6 Inch Kit – Dimmable LED Recessed Lighting FEIT 2700K 3000K - Duration: 2:44.

Upgrading your recessed lighting to LED is now super easy to do with kits like these.

Today I'm retrofitting 6-inch cans with FEIT LED lights.

These are all self-contained units with no bulbs to mess with and they stay in place

with spring-loaded clips.

For power, just screw in the wiring adapter just like a light bulb.

I have lots of recessed lights I'm going to replace in my house so let's get started.

My old fixtures have a trim plate and CFL bulbs.

So the first thing I need to do is twist the bulb out.

This trim ring is held in by two springs.

You can see one of them here that needs to be disconnected.

Simply unhook both springs from the can and the trim ring will come loose.

The LED lights will be secured using these wire clips and powered with this socket adapter.

The spring clips mount to these tabs inside the can.

First, take the socket adapter and twist it into bulb socket.

Now take one set of clips and hook them to one set of tabs.

And do the same for the other clip.

The LED module should slip up into the fixture easily with little effort.

Now repeat the process with any other fixtures you want to convert to LED.

This is a super simple DIY project that anyone can do.

On a final note, these LED lights are fully dimmable with standard dimmers like the one

I'm using.

I also dim using an Insteon KeypadLinc in my home automation system.

The dimming is very smooth with this controller.

I hope you found this video helpful and if you did please give me a thumbs up and don't

forget to subscribe to my channel for more how-to videos and product reviews.

Weekly Video Address 07/28/17 - Duration: 1:50.

I know there are a lot of questions about the Rhode Island Promise scholarship,

so I wanted to take a minute to talk to you about it.

First, the most important thing: the scholarship will be available this fall semester.

Students who graduated from high school this spring will be eligible for tuition-free community

college.

So if you graduated from a Rhode Island high school and you're eligible for in-state

tuition, you can attend CCRI tuition-free starting this fall.

Second, why did we do this?

I get that question a lot.

Why did we fight so hard to make Rhode Island one of a just a few states—and the only

state on the East Coast—to offer tuition free community college?

Because I want you to get a good job here in Rhode Island.

Here's the thing: you can't get a job in today's economy without some degree or

credential past high school.

That wasn't always the case.

In fact, not long ago—even when I graduated from high school—a high school degree was

enough to get a good job.

But since then the economy has changed, and so we need to change our promise.

And since businesses are finally taking a fresh look at Rhode Island and creating jobs

here, I want you to get those jobs.

I don't want companies that are expanding and growing here to hire people from out of

state.

I want them to hire Rhode Islanders.

And I want you to be successful here in Rhode Island.

I'm proud that we've made this promise and I'm confident that it's going to pay

off down the road.

Together, we're going to give more Rhode Islanders a shot at a good job and a rewarding

career.

To enroll, visit CCRI.edu.

Thanks, and good luck.

Weekly Video Address 8/11 - Duration: 3:18.

Every summer, Andy and I try to take the kids to Block Island for at least a day or two.

We love stepping off the ferry and walking directly across the street to the Ice Cream

Place.

There's so much nostalgia there: the small-town shops and mom-and-pop inns, family friendly

beaches, the quiet ponds.

It's such a great escape, and it gives us an opportunity to enjoy our time together.

But Block Island also represents an incredible bridge to the future.

Last year, the Block Island Wind Farm went live.

It's the first and still only off-shore wind farm in North America.

And today, all of the electricity on Block Island is produced by the turbines off the

coast.

As a state and nation, we need to march more quickly toward a renewable future.

When President Trump pulled the United States out of the Paris Accord, I was deeply disappointed.

As the Governor of the Ocean State, I couldn't sit back and let that bad decision put our

progress at risk.

I was proud to join the Climate Alliance, a coalition of states led by Democrats and

Republicans who are committed to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement.

And I was proud to set our own goals to make our energy system 10 times cleaner and to

double the number of green jobs in Rhode Island by 2020.

This week, at Quonset, I signed a number of bills to help us hold up our part of the Paris

Agreement.

We'll build a greener, renewable future.

And when we do that, we'll create good-paying, steady jobs for Rhode Islanders.

Rhode Islanders demand an energy system that is clean, reliable and affordable.

Unfortunately, energy prices across our region are too high.

I'm as concerned as anyone about proposed rate hikes that could hit hard-working, middle

class Rhode Island families this winter.

A couple of days ago, I was talking with a dad in his mid-30s.

His family does OK.

Like many Rhode Islanders, he knows his monthly utility bills down to the penny.

He told me any increase in those bills means a little bit less each month for his kids'

college accounts.

For other families, especially those less fortunate, any increase in the cost for essential

services could be the difference between choosing which bill to pay: the utility bill or the

doctor's bill.

I'm urging our regulatory team to use all of the tools at their disposal to put consumers

first.

And I recommend that Rhode Island families take advantage of our nation-leading efficiency

programs.

When I go to Block Island later this month with my family, we'll visit the Southeast

Lighthouse.

We'll look out over Mohegan Bluffs to see the five wind turbines.

To me, they are a beautiful addition to our horizon, and a glimpse at our future.

I'm going to keep working for better access to clean, reliable, renewable and affordable

energy for every Rhode Islander.

Thank you and have a great weekend.
