Quotes that changed my life | Minimalist Journal Idea - Duration: 6:39.

Hi everyone, as I was reading my daily motivational quotes for the morning and listening to my

favorite podcast, I had this urge to share some of the quotes that helped change my life with you.

I don't know if you're on the same path as I am, but I hope you'll find one or a

few that really inspire you or comforts you.

I decided to add these quotes, some little drawings, and images from my travels that

help reflect the mood of the quotes into my journal/sketchbook.

This way, I can just flip back through to the section if I need a little push in the

right direction.

Ever since I could remember, I had this pull to do something more with my work, my life,

and my art.

I went to college and during my junior year opened a summer non profit workshop as part

of a fellowship, I had this desire to use my love of art to help inspire children who

didn't have art in school, but I was honestly so lost in my purpose.

Then I tried my hand in a couple of independent fashion shows then tried teaching a little

bit and I loved that and learned so much from the experience.

After that I wanted to start my first etsy shop to try to sell my work while I was working

full time as a graphic designer but that didn't go anywhere, then came Youtube on and off.

And through every single one of those trials, I would doubt myself.

One of my all time favorite and super short but effective quotes is by Suzy Kassem and

she says: "Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will."

The first time I read this, it was almost like a sudden realization because it is the

truth.

This one quote is kind of the beginning to my love of quotes.

I think hearing very successful people talk about relatable experiences, allows me to

see that I too can become successful.

And so, on the next few pages I have quotes that kept me going and are still keeping me going.

I've read these many many times.

I have an image of me climbing some rocks during a hike and below that is a quote by Michael Jordan.

He says: "I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career.

I've lost almost 300 games.

26 times I've been trusted to take the game's winning shot and missed.

I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that's why I succeed."

Then on the next page I have five quotes:

"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the

ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade

winds in your sails.

Explore, Dream, Discover."

- Mark Twain

"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl,

but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."

- Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Strength doesn't come from what you can do.

It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't."

~ Rikki Rogers

The next one is from my favorite podcast by Brooke Castillo, she says:

"Self-doubt does not mean something has gone wrong.

It means you're growing, it means that you are in the process of overcoming and becoming

the person that you truly are meant to be.

Self-doubt does not mean turn around and go home.

It means you're on the right path."

"By changing nothing, nothing changes."– Tony Robbins

This is a memory of a trip I took with my family to the Hudson Valley in New York, overlooking

old train tracks and the beautiful ruins of Bannerman's island arsenal.

Below that it says: "When you take risks you learn that there

will be times when you succeed and there will be times when you fail, and both are equally

important."

- Ellen Degeneres

I think that we can get so caught up in what others think of us and our work that we become

a little timid and very doubtful.

I also saw failure as proof that I can't achieve my goals.

But then, after reading a few of these, I have come to the conclusion that failure is

only proof that I am trying.

And the more that I try, the more that I practice, the more confidence I will gain

But it all starts with understanding and accepting failure and the low times as part of the process.

As got into collecting more quotes and listening to more podcasts I started realizing that

if I wanted to be the best version of myself then I can't

keep holding onto my past struggles and letting all of my uneasy experiences burden me.

I can't live today with the heavy mindset of yesterday and I truly can't build a future

by carrying all of the negative emotions.

So on the next few pages are quotes that really helped me to understand the power of going

forward with kindness.

Ellen Degeneres, someone whom I am so inspired by, once said: "True beauty is not related

to what color your hair is or what color your eyes are.

True beauty is about who you are as a human being, your principles, your moral compass."

"If we learn to open our hearts, anyone, including the people who drive us crazy, can

be our teacher."

- Pema Chödrön

Here is the view of the changing autumn landscape from a hike I did a few years ago.

Below it is a quote that says:

In life you can never be too kind or too fair; everyone you meet is carrying a heavy load.

When you go through your day expressing kindness and courtesy to all you meet, you leave behind

a feeling of warmth and good cheer, and you help alleviate the burdens everyone is struggling with.

~ Brian Tracy

To add to that, you also relieve all of your own burdens.

I can't quite explain it, but basically when you can be kind to others, you are not

allowing the negative emotions to control your actions.

I think Amelia Earhart explains it a little better, she says: "No kind action ever stops

with itself.

One kind action leads to another.

Good example is followed.

A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up

and make new trees.

The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves."

I loved how this turned out, it is so simple but there is so much meaning within these

few pages.

I hope this video helps you to move forward in a positive light and overcome any form

of doubt.

Please follow me on instagram for any updates on what I am working on and thank you so much

for watching and listening to my thoughts.

I hope you have a wonderful day everyone, bye!

What The World Doesn't Know About Comedian Eric Andre - Duration: 6:32.

"Ladies and gentlemen the Eric Andre Show…"

Comedian and actor Eric André is the host, creator, and chief visionary behind the barely

controlled chaos that is Adult Swim's The Eric André Show.

Combining elements of other reality-bending talk-, prank-, and comedy shows, André and

cohost Hannibal Buress routinely bewilder and upset their celebrity guests, along with

the victims of his real-world pranks.

Here's a look at comedian Eric André and his surreal talk show.

"Time for some Ranch!"

Exclusive education

André didn't go to college to become a boundary-pushing comedian.

But while he graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2005 with a degree

in playing the bass, he also used college as a testing ground for his guerrilla comedy.

He told Grantland that he'd post fliers around the school announcing that major bands were

playing secret gigs in the school cafeteria… all at the same time.

People who showed up would only arrive to find disappointment.

Andre recalled,

"Different walks of life came to the cafeteria at the same time, and when they got here,

it was me, 11 bass players, two drummers, and a cellist, just making a bunch of noise."

The GEICO Cavemen

André created The Eric André Show as a vehicle for himself when he couldn't find enough work

to pay the bills, and was living on unemployment with only $200 to his name.

His main gig right before his show got picked up by Adult Swim was as a GEICO Caveman.

No, not one of the ones from the commercials, or even one from the short-lived ABC sitcom

based on those commercials.

André was a promotional mascot, representing the insurance giant at various events, including

Lollapalooza and Yankee games.

And at least once, he made a spontaneous appearance on Washington Post Live.

"Wizards?

Oh Wizards!

I love baseball, man!"

"different ball. No… bigger ball."

So if you had your picture taken with a GEICO Caveman at a hockey game or the Super Bowl,

it just might have been Eric André in a few layers of heavy makeup.

The pitch

André skipped the usual TV show pitching process and didn't bother writing a script

to pass around to networks.

He knew his idea for an absurdist, chaotic, stream-of-consciousness talk show wouldn't

really come through in written form, so he filmed a sample episode on his own dime.

He told Spin,

"We rented out this little semi-abandoned, semi-illegal bodega in the middle of Brooklyn."

"It had crap and piles of broken glass everywhere and it was super nasty and we just cleaned

it up a little bit, threw up curtains."

Over the course of a year, André taught himself how to edit video and put the show together

as a pitch, which he brought to a bunch of networks who weren't interested... except

for Adult Swim, because really, if there was ever a project tailor-made for Adult Swim,

it's The Eric André Show.

"Cheers, I'll drink to that!"

ABC's secret

While The Eric André Show has run for four seasons and counting, it's still a cult hit

that runs in the middle of the night on a cable network.

That means more people have probably seen André in his role as lovelorn barista Mark

on ABC's Don't Trust the B in Apt. 23, even though it was canceled after two short seasons.

Executives at Disney-owned ABC weren't cool enough to dig The Eric André Show, and weren't

too happy with his Adult Swim enterprise, either.

He told Huffington Post,

"Sometimes for press releases it was like, 'Hannibal from SNL and 30 Rock and Eric André

from Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 are doing a new show on Adult Swim.'

And then like 14 people from ABC flew in on helicopters, were like, 'Don't mention us

in the Adult Swim show!'"

Oddly enough, they didn't have a problem with his ABC costars guesting on The Eric André

Show.

Suffering for his craft

Andre puts himself in constant danger for his show, but some of the problems his comedy

has caused have had lasting repercussions.

For one of the show's real-world pranks, André crashed a city council meeting in Rancho Cucamonga,

California.

"Hey guys vote for me for class president I'll put beer in all the water coolers and

cameras in the girls locker rooms.

Woo!

Go bobcats!"

He was removed from the meeting hall, where he then claimed his name was John Coltrane.

André spent the night in jail.

"Don't taze me, bro."

But legal trouble isn't even the worst of it.

Andre has hurt himself a lot over the course of filming his show, including putting a hole

in his butt cheek, tearing his back trying to pick up a heavy chair, and possibly permanently

messing up his knees while crouching in a garbage can.

"I have hepatitis!"

Talk show from hell

Guests on The Eric André Show often seem very uncomfortable.

And while André might be playing a character named "Eric André" that isn't quite his real

self, the guests aren't necessarily faking it.

"It's time for darkness!"

"darkness?"

"What's happening right now?"

André told Splitsider that it was fun to see celebrities, quote, "out of their comfort

zones", which he accomplishes through a variety of maddening methods, including mild electrocution,

water dripping from above, and worst of all, rotten clams underneath the guest's chair

to produce a noxious, undeniable stench.

And some of it has been enough to drive guests to their breaking point.

"You invite people here and yea, make a list.

F------ every other person who doesn't come on your show because it's f------ stupid."

The Hills star Lauren Conrad didn't really "get it" when she appeared on the show.

After André put Conrad through a unique version of hell, she walked off the show.

"Nope."

"Nope!"

André said Conrad's publicity agency got revenge by canceling nearly all its other

clients scheduled to appear on the show.

Rapper T.I. also walked off when the show's rampant nudity became a bit too much to handle.

However, he later expressed regrets, posting a video of the show on Instagram, calling

it hilarious.

And TV's Incredible Hulk, Lou Ferrigno , was an almost-walkout.

"So what, uh," "don't get closer to me . Okay?"

"If he gets closer, I'm gonna leave."

Eric & Rosario

On Valentine's Day 2017, André took to various forms of social media to declare actress Rosario

Dawson his "Valentine" as well as, quote, "the undisputed most gorgeous being on the

planet."

A lot of people thought it was a ruse, including Chance the Rapper, who texted Dawson for confirmation.

In response, André posted a photos of himself and Dawson together, proving that the comedian

and the actress are the real deal.

A couple months later on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Dawson said that after she

had emergency surgery for a ruptured ovarian cyst, André was there for her.

"He took care of me in an adult diaper.

that's love."

How to Attract What You Want in Life - Law Of Attraction - Duration: 19:01.

We are old and should retire it's been a long season but mentally we have a we

have a vision we have a finish that we have to attain you know and sometimes

you have to do it when you old and you're tired you know and I think it's

the test of your will to succeed when you have to deal with some of these

negatives and I'm pretty sure you know by the end of this playoffs you see the

old and the tired people were very very young and strong mentally you know most

people and and here's the irony is that most people don't have a compelling

vision for their own future they don't they move through life setting goals and

goals have no power we're almost we were at this point your goals on Power 1959

when Earl Nightingale came his idea of goal setting and it was like wow I'm a

goal oriented person and that was great it worked like 20 years everyone set

goals and they and they got results but then all of a sudden you know you set

goals and sometimes you hit them sometimes you know most times you don't

okay that's okay but goals almost became a synonym for like oh I'm gonna set a

goal who gives it really happens afterwards and it almost is synonymous

with failure now goal-setting there's something above and I believe in setting

goals but there's got to be something above your goals and that's your vision

for the future and it's not just about it doesn't have like an ending points

about the world being a certain way and that's inspiring to you and you when you

truly have a vision for your future that inspires you you're gonna jump up out of

bed in the morning and feel great about going at life versus being miserable and

going to a job you hate or living a life that doesn't empower you and just you

know every day moving through just almost like an automaton not really you

know having the zest and the great the greatness of life and I'm joking I've

been there myself when I felt like I didn't really have a compelling vision

for my own future and I felt like I was wallowing but at least I'm conscious of

that once you become conscious of that you can consciously create a vision for

your future it doesn't happen in once in one minute or an hour you write it down

you work on until it I mean you finally hit on it you know you know you got it

when you really fact yourself your vision statement and it moves you and

you feel speier okay and you know so people have

that and and what happens is every human being is thirsty for a vision everyone

is and so few people happen to what I do they gravitate towards someone who has a

vision for the future because they want to be a part of her vision part of being

a great entrepreneur is having that vision be able to create the vision and

then sell that vision to other people to get them to want to be inspired to buy

into it to put in their time their hard work their elbow grease to help you

achieve your vision if you're a small firm then you spread the wealth around

it's a it's a win-win for everybody you got to have a vision a vision for what

it is you really truly want not what you think you want or what you should have I

mean one of most people's New Year's resolutions I'm gonna stop eating sugar

you know I'm gonna stop smoking I'm gonna lose 10 pounds problem with that

is it's not very inspiring for most people you know it's not telling you

what you're gonna get it's only what you're not gonna do and it's kind of

hard to have you move forward with that a vision is about what you're here to

create a vision that really works is one that excites you if you say well mine

you know my resolution my goal my outcome for this month this week this

year is to lose X number of pounds that's okay but it's not very compelling

it has to be a compelling vision it's gotta have something has the power to

pull you not something you have to push yourself to do those are two different

kinds of motivation push requires willpower and willpower never lasts what

will last is pull having something so exciting so attractive so some of you

desire so much that you have a hard time going to sleep at night and get so up

early in the morning to rock it and take it to the next level that's what you're

looking at great and that wasn't easy to get but one of the reasons we do

seminars and events to be saying you know why do that why isn't why not just

read a book or something is because when you give it an environment where you

with people that are being put in a peak state like when you're going to a

sporting event if you watch the sporting event at home it might have a certain

level of excitement but when you're in a stadium with 50,000 people suddenly it

has a whole different level of intensity when we feel that and the bottom line of

our follow-through comes down to our emotional intensity in a different state

of mind you're gonna come up with a bunch

better and more exciting vision than if you're sitting the couch gun okay one of

my new resolutions for this year and you're doing it the morning after the

new year started and you're a little inebriated and the football games on in

the background probably not gonna have the power of focus they're probably not

gonna have the power the energy to create something that's gonna pull you

for this year and you got to do that so it's got to be a vision that's

compelling something that you know it's going to be a gift to make sure that it

happens how many of you thought about some

things that you know that you deserve or you want out of life where you would

like to your experience and you found yourself blocking your separation and

it's never happened to you before all right very good here's what I want you

to shake somebody's hand on your the right and your left and here's what I

want you to say whatever you're seeking it's seeking you you can have it give

yourselves a round of applause

now the reason I brought that up is I was riding with a friend the other day

and I know this friend of mine who has been working on a job where she's been

miserable for a long time she was telling me about how she was miserable

on the job at home how she was so unhappy so I said if there's if it's

that stressful and if it's causing you that much pain I say why don't you just

quit and do something else and she said something that really put her in the

chorus line with a lot of other people she said I would but and then I started

to thinking about that so let me take a poll so I started talking to other

people and I would ask them what they were doing and I said but is that your

passion and they would say no I said then what's your real passion and they

would tell me what their real passion was then I said well then why aren't you

doing what you really want to do oh I can do it but and they would continue on

so this word you know but just kept on coming up and then it also has some

friends like water and cooter and sugar and one day I'm gonna have my own

business those people will talk about one day I'm going on some of y'all know

some of those one day I'm going to people raise your hand some of you get

up in the morning look in the mirror that person I just ease it I'll just

ease all right so how is it that many times we block ourselves and we use

these words almost like we're in a trance like with sleepwalking through

life that we find ways to cancel out our dreams and I think that but is a dream

killer then a lot of things that we want to do a lot of places we would like to

go a lot of things we would like to experience and we just stop at fuck and

we build a case in fact I was reading something the other day that that talked

about but it says but is an argument for our limitations and when we argue for

our limitations we get to keep them see blood will cost you to procrastinate

but will cause you to hide out behind fear but will cause you to come up with

all type of excuses that you can validate you're in action and not acting

on your dream and right now more than ever people need to look for ways to

live their dream people need to look for ways to make it on their own there is no

such thing as job security there's no such thing as a storm proof or tragic

proof life there's no guarantees today ladies and gentlemen the illusion is

gone there was a time when when we graduated from high school you're told

go to college and get out and you go and work for a corporation for 30 or 40

years they'll give you a goal watching you'll retire special announcement that

day is gone that day is gone never to return again so instead of people living

in fear feeling stressed out feeling powerless feeling like victims I think

it should be a time that we need to begin to look at ways that we can become

an active force in our own lives look at ways when we can decide to take charge

of our own destiny look at ways when we can decide to design a life of substance

and begin to truly live our dreams and it's time for people inside I'm ready to

get on with my life shake somebody's hand on your riding off a guy named Bob

Mays say and say don't let nobody turn your on do that right quick

now you're not a lot of people say I'm going to live my life one day when

things get right when I get all my bills paid when I get my feet on the ground I

say what have you been walking on see there's no problem free moments guy

named dimples had a record one time call if it ain't one thing it's another and I

say if it ain't one thing is twelve others always something there to build a

case on why you can't move on why you can't grow to the next level why you

can't begin to manifest your greatness why you can't begin to live life on your

terms always something there to block you to keep you where you are and keep

you from beginning to develop your true greatness always some fear how do we

handle it and I'm saying that if you've been hiding out behind but if you've

been using the fact that you don't have enough money or you don't have the

education take it head on don't get the education I was saying to a guy the

other day who was saying he I said how old are youse is 47 years old I said

your sister tell me that you can't read he said that's right I said why well you

know I I didn't go to school excuse me how old are you I'm 47 47 yes and you

can't read or write yes have you ever heard of adults cool adult education

have you decided that you should learn how to read to begin to expand your

world why are you using that as a racket why don't you decide now that you can

expand your world that if other people can learn you could learn too well it's

hard for me how do you have you been and sit in a classroom have you signed up

yet no I haven't see a lot of people say no ladies and

gentlemen two things and they don't even know what they're saying no two haven't

even challenged himself he hasn't even gone to sit into a class and say teach

me how to read and stand it's been easier for him to go through life he

thinks trying to play a whole card game pretending he knows how to do something

that he doesn't know how to do and you know what most of us go through life

like that most of us go through life pretending pretending that we're

satisfied where we are pretending that everything is okay

pretending that that we don't have any special goals or ambitions or desires

when really deep down inside we do really want more but if you look at our

behavior if you judge based upon what we do that really will tell you some true

stories about people because you have to judge a tree by the fruit it bears not

the fruit that it talks about see a lot of people pretend that they want more

out of life but all you have to do is watch their

actions that will tell you something so I used to pretend that I want to lose

weight but how could you tell I was pretending watch me when I have a piece

of sweet potato pie

let me get within walking distance of some peanuts some potato chips say I was

pretending that I really wanted to lose weight no idea just watch what I eat

that tell you what I'm seriously committed to people tell you all year

one day I want to have a restaurant see they're pretending they want to go into

business well them said they're not serious how can you tell let's watch

their actions watch what they're doing the proof is in the pudding so if you

want to do something if you've thought about something you want to do take it

head on decide that you're going to start looking at it start doing research

on it start tackling it start becoming involved in whatever and wherever it

might lead you to begin to explore the possibilities in that particular thing

that you're seeking so that you can begin to learn all you can about it

decide that you're going to face it that whatever shortcomings you have that

you're going to strengthen yourself there whatever training is required that

you're going to go get that training but you're gonna get started right now the

George Washington Carver would say do what you can where you are with what you

have and never be satisfied yes be fully used to say are you heard Joe Doug to

talk about always strive to be more than that which you are yeah don't get

satisfied with yourself always know that wherever you are you can enjoy more that

you deserve more but most people you know what they do most people go through

life quietly and safely tiptoe in turn early grave find out what it is you want

and go after it as if your life depends on it why because it does people that

have found their passion people that found the things that they love people

that have found the things that they can pour their lives into those people live

longer I was in New York and I had to do a seminar at a special church and a guy

by the name of Reverend Johnny Youngblood and I said how is it that you

were able to build this big housing facility and got all of the various

community and religious groups together to to have this dwelling for 2,000

residents that were were once homeless how were you able to take on this

responsibility wasn't it overwhelming he said the kind of work I do he said it's

in me I've got to live what's in me and I think that's everybody's desire in

life you got to live what's in you life is just too short and unpredictable buts

what are the what are we saved but but there always be tomorrow oh no there's

no guarantees you're gonna show up tomorrow a lot of people who were here

yesterday that they're not here today there are a lot of opportunities that

were around yesterday but they're not here today oh you can wait but you know

whatever have Linkin said well good things might come to those who - who

wait but all of the things that have been left over by those who hustle

some want to go through life thinking of leftovers you deserve much more than

that the leftovers that somebody has left you so take it head on beginning to

explore it here's something else decide to do it now decide whatever you want to

do that you are now going to become actively involved right now exploring

the possibilities for you that you're going to look at it and do just a little

bit of it right now when I decided to become a speaker I didn't just quit my

job and just ran out and say I'm a motivational speaker know what I did was

I decided to start looking at other people that were involved in the

speaking profession I've volunteered to work with some speakers so that I could

learn whatever you want to do get your feet wet gain some experience doing some

volunteer work in the area and find out whether or not this thing you want to do

will fit for you friend of mine told me he wanted to have a restaurant and say

have you ever operated restaurant before he said no I said we're really you don't

even know if you want one I said what's your expertise what do you bring to the

table he said I can cook real good I said well what about the management side

what about the business part of the restaurant you're not gonna be cooking

all the time somebody's got to receive the money

who's gonna manage the personnel he said you got all right you've got a point

there so this guy got a job in a restaurant in the evening time on a

part-time basis after doing that for lolly said you know what I think I just

want to be a chef he said after working there people that show up the working it

says hard to find the help people weren't responsible they headaches the

guest was just giving him problems day in and day out they were never satisfied

he said no I just think I should stick to cooking so you're gonna find out what

fits for you because you might decide after you go up in there and examine it

experience it and and get some experience on the about wonder well you

say this is really not what I want this does not fit for me so decide that

you're going to do that now Johnny Johnson said something that's very

important he said there is no defense against an excellence that meets a

pressing public need see whatever you decide to do look at it and find out

what is it that I have that I could bring to the table that can

begin to enable me to ensure that I could be successful in this where is the

opening for you there's room for you out here out here in the arena called life

there's room for you to come out and live your dream don't allow but to keep

you in the corner or keep you up in the bleachers looking at life being a

spectator not being a participant making a difference in life I believe that all

of us came here with something all of us showed up to give something and that

nobody but nobody is going to give that service that you have to give no one's

going to produce your product no one's going to write your book no one's going

to open your Academy no one's going to begin to create your day care with a

special curriculum to help to cultivate the high self-esteem and our children

that's your idea and if you don't bring your idea out here when you die all of

us will suffer because we've been deprived of your genius because you

allowed but to keep you in the bleachers and not pursuing your greatness you take

it to your grave with you and that's what most people do I think that's why

the guy said that many people die at age 21 and don't get buried until they're 65

they're Walking Dead you can tell him by the way they walk how they look in the

face when they speak to you I was giving a speech of this high school and a lady

came after school she said mr. Brown I want to talk to you about my son I said

what is it she said he's not more to me

LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Drone Explorer review! 31071 - Duration: 9:15.

hello everyone this is the Lego creator three and one drone Explorer set I'm

showing you here the three official builds you can make one at a time only

from the parts included in a single set so I'm going to show you each of these

yeah I'm going to start with the main one the feature to build that actually

uses all of the parts included in the set now you may notice that this thing

is minifig compatible so I'm going to go ahead and get one of my own figures no

figures are included with this set but you can open up that canopy and

definitely put a figure in there has a control stick even which really helps to

highlight just how wrong the word drone is and how misused the word drone is

these days I mean this whole thing is based on real concepts for personal

transport pods that's been designed that are actually possible that may actually

be created on a commercial basis it's kind of an extension of the whole long

term dream of mankind to have flying cars at some point in the future

everyone will have a flying car and it'll leave alleviates all problems of

traffic and such and you know people when dreaming about that getting

features in Popular Mechanics popular science magazine since I don't know what

30s 40s something like that this is just kind of the latest version of that dream

this is what adventures are actually considering and trying to make real so

Lego has done a very nice thing here combining kind of that that spirit of

innovation that desire for freedom of mobility humans and desire to fix

problems with technological advances all that is just kind of wrapped up into

this one little set and probably a lot of people won't be able to appreciate

that won't understand that I think that's okay I just like that they've

actually made a set of this of course having a person

the seats controlling it means it is not a drone just like most of the things

that we call drones or not drones because there's somebody actually

controlling it it's just remotely controlled in this case is not even

remotely controlled but that's okay that's another another top he called

together the build went together nicely has some nice building techniques

especially for these rotor pods that build in several different directions

they look good I appreciate the placement of the three

bladed rotor actually above the thing that the propeller above the thing so

that it can kind of overlap just slightly because if you tried to make

the opening large enough to fit that and they would look too wide the edges would

look too thick this is just a really nice I think a really nice compromise

and all those things I'm go ahead and take this figure out since it's not

included with said I thinks it looks just fine without a figure and it's

great that the creator line does have an increasing number of minifig compatible

things even they're not perfectly scaled what I don't like about this is what

they've done for the the landing skid thing assembly it's just each of these

can rotate forward and back which is kind of cool for posing the whole thing

on the ground if you want to I don't know what this camera is for but it's

there but you know if you want to have it angled forward a little bit you know

give it some rake while it's on the ground almost makes it look like it's

it's in motion or like it's gonna be able to to take off like this but each

of these EXO force drone haha yeah they actually recall drawings

because those were actually drones in that but a completely different thing

these his arm pieces is able to rotate as well so when you put it down on the

ground you just try to get it flat then these types of things start to happen

and that's really awkward so that doesn't work so well but you know just

try to get it roughly right and then don't push down too hard when you place

it on the ground I prefer you know multi legged systems

that allow you to just push down and get it nice and flat the way you want it

each of the struts is the same length and just did a little bit of

offsetting here that works really well just a nice build a nice looking thing

this will look great in Lego cities I think you look nice just on display just

by itself you know just on on a shelf on the edge of a cubicle

I think this appeals to kids and adults alike and it's good it has a certain

amount of realism a certain amount of near-future kind of wonder I don't know

what that clip on the back is for put a minifig accessory there if you want but

I really like this especially for the price for the number of pieces it's very

nice here's an airboat which uses kind of the

same sort of arrangement for a single prop housing shroud around the back

similar proportions similar building techniques back there but just one which

works just fine I think has the big light up on top you can angle up and

down you can spin the prop and it still has a compartment a driver's compartment

that is compatible with many things you can put a figure in there just have to

be careful with the hair I have to have them you know leaning forward a bit and

I think you know longer hair pieces won't work but within reasonable limits

you can make it work with a figure which is another really good thing I think

that the you know obviously with so few pieces in a set you're really limited in

what you can do in total that can look nice I think that given those

limitations this is a worthy alternate build it looks like something the

building techniques are good uses a fair number of the pieces and it just kind of

makes sense to me you know that's good detailing in there and this looks like

it's horizontally opposed to cylinder aircraft engine here almost you know a

little bit detailing here and stuff so I respect this you know it's small and

simple but I think it's not bad and then last up is this aeroplane which

is even smaller and simpler still obviously is not going to hold on to a

minifig but you could probably adapt it to work with one sitting

Mack comically smaller simpler nothing too fancy in the building techniques

department here but still nice I think you know this looks more like a

five-dollar kind of set but I think it's okay as a as an alternate build a very

different alternate build from a ten dollar set you know I think that this

looks decent it makes sense to me the color scheme is nice and unified the

shapes are nice looks kind of recognizable like some actual planes

that have been made long in the past and some are still available and are still

flying so I think pretty good stuff here overall I also want oh yeah it's kind of

angled back thanks to that inverted round tile that's under there see it as

a seaplane potentially if if you want the tail is able to rotate up and down

not the greatest thing just leave it in one spot but I didn't want to call out

one interesting piece that's included in this set I'll just pick one of the

spares it's that it's one stud wide compared to the previous two stud wide

design that we had so this may be useful for simplifying some things bringing in

some structural stability in a very small space where previously you

couldn't get that much shines it's nice I think it's much more useful for that

exterior shape than a pair of the 1 by 2 inverted slope pieces would be because

those don't have this nice little dip in there they can be used for other things

and yeah they still need to be connected so this could be useful draw an explorer

I feel like this is right in many ways obviously the main build I personally

like of course it's the best-looking one but then the alternate builds again

given this very small part count I think look very nice

I appreciate the ability to use minifigs with two of these builds and I like the

themes and you know it definitely has some very teachable moments for kids who

might think this is just made up no spaceship or something from a

different world but it actually has very deep ties to reality of the past present

and future that's it for this video thanks for watching and I'll talk to you

in soon

Crackdown on charity Helping the homeless is becoming a crime in America - Duration: 3:19.

Crackdown on charity Helping the homeless is becoming a crime in America

In what is perhaps one of the most disgusting examples of the old saying no good deed goes

unpunished, the city of Malibu, an upscale southern California liberal enclave, allegedly

told a local church to stop feeding the homeless.

The United Methodist Church in Malibu serves about 100 meals every Wednesday night and

has been doing so for the past three years.

Recently, the city emailed church leaders and asked them to attend a meeting that was

apparently convened for homeless outreach organizations.

Once there, government officials told the Methodist church to end the food giveaway

after the Thanksgiving holiday because it was exacerbating the problem.

They claimed we are increasing homelessness, one of the church volunteers told CBS News

Los Angeles.

Another church member added that many of the homeless individuals eat out of dumpsters

and trashcans when they dont obtain their meals from the church.

The new Malibu policy created an uproar in the community, and the city now denies that

it told the church to shut down the soup line.

According to the city manager, the purpose of the meeting in question was to coordinate,

rather than reduce, services to the homeless.

And she specifically says no request was made by the city for Malibu Methodist to end

its free food nights, The Malibu Times explained.

The city followed up with a press release indicating that the dialogue with the charitable

groups will continue after Thanksgiving and that no decisions were made at the initial

meeting.

Whether in Malibu or elsewhere, helping the growing number of people who find themselves

living on the street for various reasons poses challenges on many different levels, including

public safety.

Local law enforcement blamed churches for attracting homeless people into Malibu,

The Malibu Times added, and that during the meeting, the mayor allegedly said that putting

the church meals on hold until April might be a way to determine if that would lead to

a reduction in crime in the area.

According to the Waking Times, the surge in homelessness on the West Coast is a byproduct

of the housing crisis of 2008 and now spurred on by the excesses of the regions tech

industry. The Associated Press reports that there are 16,00 homeless persons in California,

Oregon, and Washington, a 15 percent increase from two years ago, and Rising rents are

the main culprit.

A recent survey claimed that about 20 percent of Los Angeles community college students

were homeless and that 65 percent were unable to afford a balanced diet, Natural News detailed

in July of this year.

Los Angeles Community College trustees are attempting to negotiate with private developers

to increase the inventory of student housing at below-market rates and with food vendors

to provide meals to those students in need.

Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders | Crissa Tries To Study - Duration: 3:58.

Hey guys! Welcome to a series I'm starting here on my channel

It's called Crissa Tries To Study... wherein I try to study xD

I realize that when I talk about something I tend to remember it better.

I decided to film it because I thought it would be nice to maybe share the things I have learned to other people through this

platform.

Disclaimer though! I am just a psychology student. :)

So for my first episode I'm going to talk about

Obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. My basis for this topic is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fifth

edition. There are nine disorders in this chapter namely

1. obsessive compulsive disorder

2. Body dysmorphic disorder

3. hoarding disorder

4. Trichotillomania or the hair-pulling disorder

5. excoriation or the skin picking disorder

6. substance or medication induced

obsessive-compulsive and related disorder

7. Obsessive-compulsive and related disorder due to another medical condition

8. other specified

obsessive-compulsive and related disorder

9. unspecified

obsessive-compulsive and related disorder such as body focused repetitive behavior disorder or

obsessional jealousy

So what are obsessions and compulsions?

Obsessions are recurrent and persistent thoughts urges or images that are experienced as intrusive and unwanted

compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental acts that the person feels driven to perform in response to an obsession or

According to rules that must be applied rigidly

Repetitive behaviors as compulsions are hand-washing

ordering and checking.

Examples of mental acts as compulsions are counting and repeating words silently. I made a sort of metaphor for this

So the obsession is a a big stray monster crying out to the person for food

Its cries are noisy and the person feels stressed in hearing them so the person then feeds the monster

Doing a compulsion to stop the cries making the person feel less stressed

Okay, so let's start with OCD or obsessive

Compulsive disorder. It has four common symptom dimensions namely

cleaning (examples are contamination obsessions and cleaning compulsions)

Symmetry (examples are symmetry obsessions and repeating, ordering, and counting compulsions)

forbidden or taboo thoughts (examples are aggressive sexual and religious obsessions and related compulsions) and

Then harm (fears of harm to oneself or others and related checking compulsions)

So there are three degrees of insight in OCD. the first one is the good or fair insight

Which I guess the person thinks like

PSSSH *rolls eyes* the house WILL NOT or

Probably will not or may or may not burn down if the stove isn't checked 30 times

Number two is the poor insight which is kind of like the house will *probably*

Burn down if the stove isn't checked 30 times, and then the last one is absent insight or delusional beliefs

OKAY, the house WILL burn down if stove isn't checked 30 times

Umm, I might make a continuation about this or

I might make a collab with a friend if that's possible. That's all for today, and thank you for watching

Thank you so much. Please remember to stay hydrated ^^

and

Let's study more guys xD

Bye! :D

EVERYDAY MAKEUP ROUTINE 2017 - Duration: 10:25.

hi friends what's up I hope you're all having an amazing day that is not my

typical intro but I have been saying hey guys when something actually welcome or

welcome back to my channel for just like so long now that it feels too generic

like hey how are you that sounds like a better way to start a

video you know I'm going to be doing my makeup routine my everyday makeup

routine it has changed a lot since the last time that I have filmed this video

how I applied my makeup what I do what I use so I definitely know that this video

has been long overdue it's actually gonna make this you know more typical

like I'm filming my makeup routine more professional-looking but I'm coping an

everyday makeup routine and I just wanted to keep it real with you guys

when I do eye makeup I sit here on my desk and I have my youtube videos pulled

up the screen just went black but I have my youtube video and pulled up I'm

watching YouTube videos or Netflix and I just do my makeup so I wanted to keep it

real with you guys so let's just go ahead and get started alright guys we

changed the setup in the angle a little bit I hope you don't mind this like

above looking angle but this has the best lighting and the perfect frame in

my small area that I can work with so the first we're gonna prep the skin

for the mica first thing I'm going to do is moisturize my skin I use the ponds

dry skin cream really good if you do have dry skin I don't really have dry

skin but of course I just want my face to be as moisturize as it could be

I've been using this og throwback primer the benefit Porefessional I don't really

know if I like it or not I don't really know if I see a difference but really

dirty and the sticker is coming off it's always happens with this concealer I'm

taking my it's ass Maybelline yes Maybelline fit me concealer take this

and I put it on any blemishes or Hydra friendly pigmentations I said before my

foundation I started doing this and this just really helps minimize the amount of

makeup that I'm using and I actually found that I don't have to use concealer

over my foundation which just helps with like kinky Nicks and stuff most people

watching this will probably not believe but right now I actually only have one

pimple on my face and açelya on my face it's right here on my neck and that is

the only pimple that I actually have right now the rest of them are like this

is sad please like a scar to take my Beauty Blender this is the or Beauty

sponge sorry this is the Real Techniques Beauty sponge next is a new product I've

been using this for about a weaker tales is the wet and wild foundation I

actually really really like this it's the photo focus foundation I'm usually

like the lightest color and this one I'm actually like the third in it kind of

looks like it doesn't match me but I swear it does I also recently have

picked up this uLTA Beauty angled foundation brush I really wanted a

foundation brush I still don't know if I like if I like this or if I don't

after I put that on with the brush as you can tell I don't really know how

much you could tell from this far away I look like Hospital ghosts right now

but it's kind of like you could see the brush lines and I just like I'm not a

fan of foundation brushes I'm going to put on I'm gonna take this flat side of

my being a blender and I just basically like pot it in and this I swear guys

makes a world of a difference I have the classic Maybelline age rewind concealer

I get mine in the brightener illuminator

that I'm going with my airspun powder I get a lot of questions on where I

actually find this I get my phone Walgreens and I actually get they make

two of them they're all translucent but they just have translucent and then they

have translucent extra coverage I always get that one to be honest I have no idea

if there's any extra coverage but I just like the idea of it so I get that one

of the boring base of my faces on we can get into the good stuff I will do I

don't know what to call it I would say that I do a mixture in between a contour

and Oberon still use the two feast milk chocolate school Soleil can't speak

today bronzer do it to my cheeks my nose a little bit on my forehead and then a

tiny bit like to my neck and then I do like this to my channel really know if

it does anything but I've literally done it for like two years now so I just keep

doing it

I recently got this one - this Tarte one and party with like three A's

I'm messin senses partay I recently got this in the Suffern Suffern up why can't

I help today the Sephora birthday like tart birthday box and I really really

like this one I mentioned it in my October favorites video the essence your

nude highlight in be my highlight it's really pretty it's really natural

I know it's highly is actually like my biggest thing that I pierre-pierre for I

really can't talk today my nose highlight is like the biggest thing

that's important to me like it of highlight like if I go hard it's my nose

highlight I'll bail it very quickly like goes a little spooley brow brow I'll

very quickly go with the little brow squeeze thing and go through them and

then I just set them with the NYX control freak because I have curly hair

so my eyebrows are like not exactly straight they curl just a little bit I

mean they're not like curly but like they they have a mind of its own so I've

been using the Tarte lip palette which I also talked about my October favorites

video in day to day basis I will typically take either sweetheart or this

brown but it tends to be sweetheart and then I just take it into my crease but I

focus on more of like the outer half if that makes sense and then I bring it in

like all the way in so that makes sense like I do it to my whole crease but

there's more of a focus to this outer half this is my favorite thing to do I

have gotten non-stop compliments on it since I started doing it I just get

compliments on how I look I get compliments on my makeup and I don't

mean this to sound conceited or anything because that just sounded really

conceited also I feel like these colors are the perfect for like blue eyes and

what I'll do is I'll take a tiny little bit and I'll just kind of like put it

right here and my outer-v on my outer lid blending um always super important

with eyeshadow we have finally reached the last steps this has taken me about

three times longer that it normally takes me to do my makeup next I do

eyeliner this is also something that I have changed I have worn black eyeliner

on my waterline for years and years and years but I have switched it up and now

I take my black eyeliner I use the Rimmel London scandaleyes waterproof

black eyeliner and I will actually put this on my tight line the outer half not

my whole thing I use this NYX wonder pencil in light you can use this for

they advertise this for eyes I think under the eyebrows and lips so I use it

for my waterline it's just like a nude pencil because they always say to put a

white eyeliner here right now of your eyes but I feel like white just doesn't

flatter well for me cuz it just looks too white for me and I don't like it

tried that to me it looks like boom white eyeliner and I just wasn't a big

fan so this one's like a nude so it does like the whole brightening but it's not

like very noticeable because I'm gonna curl my lashes and I do this

individually so like one eye usually I'll do my right eye and then I

do my left eye I don't do it at the same time and I've been using the Tarte

lights camera lashes mascara this also came in the chart birthday box guys this

mascara is amazing it's a game changer this one guys it just takes my lashes to

like the next level

look at that difference in my eyes with mascara without mascara I usually will

just add some chapstick I don't really wear a lip color from class to class I

just have this L'Oreal infallible Pro spray and set setting spray I really use

like any one I use the one from NYX a lot the one from Urban Decay is good but

I don't feel like you need to spend that money on that one

because they feel like there are ones that are just as a clip though I hope

that you guys liked this video let me know if you guys want to see a skincare

routine I've been debating about doing a video about that or not so let me know

if you guys want to see that and yeah thank you guys so much for watching and

THE 5 MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRLS OF JAPAN by Sebastiano Serafini - Duration: 6:29.

Hello guys and welcome to the bamboo chick!

If you're new don't forget to subscribe to this channel

also your friends or enemies should SUBSCRIBE!

Today we are here to talk about "girls", because I think that this is a very interesting and beautiful argument.

Today we are not going to talk about frigid girls, but we are going to talk about bamboo "chicks" (Japanese girls)

So, after some conversations with my Japanese friends,

that are experts in bamboo chicks,

we made a ranking on the 5 most bautiful Japanese girls in the world of the Japanese entertainment.

We have come to two conclusions:

number 1: we tried to take only girls that are completely japanese,

so, in this chart these girls are not included:

... I saw her many times at the fashion week,

in my opinion I would have put her in this chart,

but we came to the conclusion that she has some Bangladesh origins

and maybe also chinese, so she isn't in this chart.

So, we excluded all the girls that aren't fully Japanese,

because I decided to focus only on the ones who have extremely oriental features.

So I decided to take the girls that for the japanese men where considered fully Japanese and not "mixed"with other nationalities

In Japan there is no problem if you are coming from a mixed family,

a lot of models, singers, actors are mixed

...has some italian origins,

Kiko Mizuhara, she was at the Milan Fashion week.

She modeled for Moschino and also appeared in Attack on Titan

I've met her often and also her sister,

I don't think that she is Japanese, because she is half American and half Korean

I hope it's right, well she is beautiful and her name is fully Japanese.

I didn't put her in chart and also Kuroki Meisa

because also she isn't fully Japanese.

I have also a funny news, my friend Dominic is the godfather of their child

Kuroki Meisa is very beautiful and she looks like the Japanese version of our italian Manuela Arcuri

in my opinion.

I wanted to put Dan Mitsu, but a lot of my friends said that they don't like her

I don't know I find her beautiful

and in my opinion she is one of the most beautiful Japanese, but a lot of people don't like her

and also Yamada Yu

I don't know if she is mixed, or she is from Okinawa

Okinawa people have more exotic features

well, a lot of people don't like her, but I find she's beautiful!

Well, since I wanted to take in consider also the opinion of the Japanese people and also mine

I gave also my vote,

and there were other 6 Japanese people that decided who the most beautiful 'chick' is

so, we decided to put together all votes.

In 5th position we have Chiaki Kuriyama

well, we put her in this rank, because she has a very particular beauty,

she has a big nose, but she is beautiful, maybe you saw her in Kill Bill

maybe she is also in Kill Bill 2 and

she's also in Battle Royale, it's maybe one of my favourite Japanese movies and maybe I'm going to do a review.

In fourth position we have Kyōko Fukada

I know her ex boyfriend, she acted in YatterMan as Doronjo.

Moreover I've met the film director of YatterMan

and do you know who he wanted for the main role?

Angelina Jolie

but, she refused because there wasn't enough money to pay her.

In the third position we find Aya Ueto

beautiful girl, and she acted in Thermae Romae

I don't know if you saw it, but it's a film about this Japanese man ( physically he seems italian, don't know why)

he goes back in time and he wakes up in the Thermal baths.

This story is a little bit messy, maybe I'm going to talk about it.

Ueto Aya, for those who know Dead or Alive

there are funny news.

You know in the Dead or Alive movie that came out a lot of years ago,

there wasn't any girl that could resemble the physiology of the Dead or Alive girls,

but Ueto Aya was the girl that the creator of Dead or Alive wanted for the role as Ayane

and for sure she would have been better than the girl that they took for the role,

a beautiful girl, but Ueto Aya in my opinion would have been been better.

In 2nd position we have Satomi Ishihara

she was in Shin Godzilla and also in Attack on Titan

she is very beautiful, very famous and more boys than girls like her,

she is not so a universal beauty

Then in first position we had some debate.

At the beginning we putted in 1st position Erika Sawajiri

I've met her also, we did also a shooting together

we didn't put her, because we discovered that she is mixed

So, we decided to be more concentrated in the real Japanese girls

since we found informations about her origins

and I think that she lived also in Spain for some time, but that's a long story

it happened a lot in her life so she isn't in the chart.

In first position, since we all did agree,

guys, girls and also my hair dresser did agree,

In first position, the one that portrayed Sailor Mars

in that not so beautiful live action movie

she also had a role in the 2006 Fast'n'Furious movie

and she's also the wife of DAIGO

he is a singer and grandson of a famous Japanese politician

she also had a role in Paradise Kiss.

I think that now you know who I'm talking about

I don't think that she's faous in Italy, but here in Japan everybody wants her in their beds,

The first one in position that wins the 2017 Sebastiano Serafini 'chick' prize is:

Keiko Kitagawa

she is in first position!

This one here is the chart of all 5 girls

let me know who your favourite is

and if you agree with my ranking.

I don't take all responsibility about this ranking, but with all my friends,

I surely agree with the first one in position, because she is very beautiful,

let me know what you think.

Personally I would have put Dan Mitsu, they didn't even let me put it in the top 5!!

If you think that I had to put a certain Japanese girl in the chart let me know

See you tomorrow with another video, always at 2pm (Italian Time)

If you liked it leave a LIKE and a comment

and see you tomorrow! CIAO!!

How Analog Color TV Works: The Beginnings - Duration: 13:14.

The year is 1954.

After much deliberation, confusion, and fussing about, the FCC had, for the second time, settled

on the way color TV would be transmitted in the United States, and Westinghouse would

release the first commercially produced color television set using the new standard, the

Westinghouse H840CK15.

Ah, the H840CK15.

Really rolls off the tongue.

RCA would follow with the more famous CT-100 weeks later.

The reason for the fussing about had to do with compatibility.

Most experimental color televisions used complicated schemes to create a color image which would

not be compatible with existing black and white televisions sets.

It seemed like this was an inevitability, and the FCC did briefly approve simultaneous

transmission of both color and black and white signals, creating a fragmented television

landscape.

But the National Television System Committee, NTSC, having backed the work of RCA, would

save the day by introducing a new color system.

Their compatible color managed to, in a sense, hide the color signal within the black-and-white

transmission.

The benefits of a single transmission for both color and black and white television

sets were obvious, and though it took some convincing, the FCC would later decide that

new NTSC color was the way to go.

To understand this story, we need to look at how color images are made.

Our eyes actually only see three colors of light--Red, green, and blue.

Our brains interpret other colors by comparing the amount of each of the three colors we

see, for example yellow light will stimulate both the red and green cells in your eyes

in close to equal amounts as yellow lies between green and red on the color spectrum.

We knew this for a long time before television was around, in fact this knowledge can be

traced back to 1802 with Thomas Young's pretty correct postulation.

This was further refined in 1850 by Hermann von Helmholtz and thenceforth was known as

the Young-Helmholtz theory.

Experiments in color photography were done almost as soon as we figured out photography,

and the three-color method, as suggested by Scottish physicist James Clerk Maxwell based

on the Young-Helmholtz theory, worked perfectly.

Plenty of very old color photographs exist, and this one is perhaps my favorite.

The only clue that this photograph is from 1912 is the moustache.

Anyway, with humans possessing the knowledge of how to recreate an image in color using

an RGB system, it should be no surprise that we threw our hats into the ring for color

television as soon as we figured out television.

The first color television demonstration was done by none other than our friend John Logie

Baird, who adapted his mechanical television system

to produce color all the way back in 1928.

But as we know, mechanical television was not meant for this world.

CRT based electronic television was far superior.

So, we got to work figuring on out how to adapt a CRT into a color display.

The most obvious thing would be to simultaneously transmit three separate television images,

with each representing one of the RGB channels.

A special camera with a beam-splitting arrangement behind the lens could send the image to three

separate iconoscope tubes, each with a colored filter in front of it.

Later cameras would use dichroic glass to simultaneously split the beam and filter color.

This would cause each tube to only detect light of that color.

On the receiving end, three separate television picture tubes could receive each of these

three signals.

RCA experimented with just such a system.

The three CRT displays were tinted either red, green, or blue, to match the colors detected

by the tubes in the camera.

The trick was combining the images together.

An optical system similar to that of the camera could re-combine the output of the three CRTs,

but this didn't work too well.

Though CRT projection systems would use this approach years later, at the time it wasn't

a great option.

Besides the fact that each television set using this system would cost at least three

times as much as an ordinary television, given the fact it essentially is three TVs, the

resulting image had to be recombined onto a frosted screen, and with the comparatively

dim tubes of the time, it just wasn't great.

The real trick would be to figure out how to use just one picture tube.

Once again, John Logie Baird appeared.

In 1940, he demonstrated a sequential color system using CRT technology.

But, I've also found a source indicating this was in 1939.

Also in 1940, CBS demonstrated their sequential color system.

Regardless of who was first, both of these systems are similar.

These work by placing a large disk in front of a black and white picture tube.

This disc contained alternating sections tinted red, green, and blue.

This disc was quite a bit larger than the tube, so that only one color was in front

of the tube at one time.

The disc would tint the apparent color of the picture tube, and by spinning the disc

quickly in front of it, it would rapidly produce a red, then green, then blue image.

If you do this fast enough, persistence of vision will kick in, and you won't notice it.

A similar disc was placed in front of the camera tube in the studio, so that it would

only see red, then green, the blue light.

So long as you can synchronize the camera and TV, you could transmit a full color image.

But now is where we run into problems of compatibility.

You could in theory just slap one of these discs in front of both a conventional camera

and conventional TV, and it would work, but it would be painful to view.

With a framerate of 30 frames per second, each color would only appear in front of the

tube 10 times per second.

This would be obvious.

In fact, avert your eyes if you suffer from epilepsy, it would look like this.

This isn't great, now is it?

Even if you spun the disc twice as fast and tinted each consecutive field and not frame,

it would still be very visible.

And now,

I was pleasantly surprised to learn of Guillermo González Camarena, a Mexican inventor who

applied for a patent detailing a system much like we've just discussed in 1940.

Thanks to multiple commenters for letting me know about him.

Information about him is very spotty.

For example, there is a Wikipedia entry on him, but it's pretty paltry and also somewhat

contradicts itself.

The actual patent is easily accessible, though, and it's worth taking a look at.

We'll explore Camarena's work in more detail in the next video, including his work

on two-color TV, but first I need to address a small issue.

His patent was to adapt an existing black-and-white set to color.

This wouldn't look too good, as we just discussed, as the color wouldn't change fast enough.

It would technically work, but its practical viewability would be questionable.

He had the idea fundamentally correct, but the CBS system produced far and away better

results.

Also, CBS's demonstration to the press of their field-sequential color-system happened

just 9 days after Guillermo filed his patent.

So here we are again, with multiple people who could be given credit as the inventor

of color TV.

So we'll just say it was a group effort.

CBS actually brought their system to commercial use.

However, the CBS system radically altered the way television transmissions were done.

To get around the high flicker caused by the color wheel, they elected to increase the

field rate from 60 hz to 144 hz, but in order for each two-field frame to be completely

colored, the wheel needed to cycle through the RGB pattern twice with each frame, reducing

the effective frame rate to 24 frames per second.

This was very effective at making the color wheel hard to notice since it changed colors

144 times per second, but it came at the huge expense of wiping out any compatibility with

existing black and white televisions.

But, the color wheel was simple.

Aside from the extra circuitry required to synchronize the wheel with the correct fields,

it was really a run-of-the-mill black and white TV and camera, both modified with a

much higher scan frequency, and with a spinning color wheel in front of each of them.

It was easy to produce and worked reasonably well, and so the FCC decided they would allow

broadcasting of the CBS color system.

On June 25th, 1951, the first network color television broadcast occurred.

But this whole time, RCA was trying to convince the FCC of their "compatible color" system.

They understood that if would be really great if you could broadcast a color transmission

that could still be viewed with the black and white televisions already in service.

And to make that possible, they needed a whole new type of picture tube.

Enter the shadow mask.

One simple way to make a color picture tube would be to create a pattern of alternating

red, green, and blue dots on the inside surface.

From far enough away these dots would blend into each other and wouldn't be noticeable.

So, RCA used picture tubes which contained just an arrangement, with each dot being filled

with either a red, green, or blue phosphor.

This tube could be scanned at the same field and frame rate as an ordinary black and white

tube, but could produce a full color image.

But now you need a way to control which dots are lit up.

If they all worked together, it would simply appear as black and white.

You need a way to control where the electron beam lands.

The shadow mask is just the solution.

The 1938 invention of German man Werner Flechsig is a sheet of metal with a bunch of tiny holes

punched through it.

The shadow mask sits just behind the grid of phosphors.

The holes work in conjunction with three separate electron guns, one for each color of phosphor,

in the neck of the picture tube.

These guns are arranged in a triangular pattern, and their beams converge right at the shadow

mask.

The mask prevents the beams from landing on the wrong color, as the beam can only pass

through the mask at a certain angle, thus ensuring there's no accidental cross-over.

This is why placing a magnet near the face of a color CRT makes such far-out patterns

appear.

The magnet bends the beam after the shadow mask, and thus the electron beams land where they shouldn't.

Now comes the time to explain the thumbnail of this video.

It's very important to understand that the individual groupings of red, green, and blue

phosphors are NOT pixels.

The TV set isn't even trying to line the beam up with these triads, if you will, and

it has no way to address them individually.

In fact, the pattern of triads in this picture tube doesn't even form a grid, as each adjacent

column of triads is shifted up half way.

But that makes sense when you keep in mind that the electron guns are arranged in a triangle--logically

the targets they aim to hit would be, too.

And before you bring up Trinitron, I'll be addressing that in another video.

Hold your commenting horses.

To form an image, the face of the tube is scanned in horizontal lines just like a black

and white television set.

It's these lines that make up the image, not the dots on the screen.

This is the precise reason why I used a black and white TV in my video on how analog television works.

The lines are obvious on a black and white set, but a color set makes them less so.

It's tempting to imagine these groupings as pixels, but in reality they are simply

a regular pattern of dots which, when combined with the shadow mask, force each individual

electron beam into its respective color.

This is most easily demonstrated with white text on a black background, so let's pull

out the old PlayStation.

The text here doesn't fall nicely in line with the individual phosphor groupings.

All around the edges of the text, the phosphor groupings are only partially lit.

That's because the scan line isn't landing nicely within the center of the triads, and

it just barely grazes the bottom of these triads.

But it doesn't matter, as the position of the shadow mask and phosphor triads is irrelevant

to the scanning beam--the beam can land anywhere it wants.

But the shadow mask will always prevent each individual color component of the beam from

hitting the incorrect phosphor.

The shadow mask worked really well, but it required very powerful electron beams.

About 85 percent of the beam energy is lost just in the shadow mask, so only 15 percent

gets through the tiny holes.

Without really powerful electron guns, a dim image would result.

Even with suitable electron guns, early color CRT displays were often less bright than their

black and white counterparts.

Nevertheless, it meant that the picture tube could on its own produce a full color image.

The real challenge then was to find a way to transmit color television in a way that

a color set could interpret but that would still work for existing black and white TVs.

You could simultaneously transmit three separate monochrome images and assign one to the green

electron gun, another to the red, and the final to the blue.

But which one would you have the black and white television receive?

Picking just one color would produce a very unnatural image on the black and white set.

Also, this would triple the bandwidth needed, which wasn't really gonna fly with the FCC.

Stay tuned as in the next video, we'll explore how RCA managed the seemingly impossible task

of sending three times the data without needing more bandwidth--by hiding the color in plain sight.

Thanks so much for watching, I really hope you enjoyed the video!

Are You Too Old for Martial Arts? No! - Duration: 5:34.

Hey.

Ando here from SenseiAndo.com and Happy Life Martial Arts.

"Am I too old to start martial arts?"

Ha.

You know, I get this question all the time from people in their 60s, 40s, 20s, even 12 years old.

Talk about ridiculous!

Okay—the short answer is no.

You're never too old to start training in the martial arts.

So, if you've been using age as an excuse to either sit home and play video games or

sit in the nursing home and play bingo,

I want you to get up and go sign up for a martial arts class.

Having said that, I do have a word of warning for some of you old timers out there.

And that's coming up right now.

Look, I'm not going to lie to you.

If you're 30 years old and you've never taken a martial arts class, and you have a dream

of becoming a UFC champ or winning a gold medal in the Olympics for Judo?

It's too late.

I mean, I hate to be a dream squasher, but that ship has sailed and sunk.

If you truly have your heart set on becoming a champ or winning a medal, then might I suggest

a pie eating contest.

But if your goal is to simply to improve your life—if you want to get in shape, toughen up,

learn how to fight back against a bad guy, develop your balance, strength, your flexibility—

well, then don't think twice about it.

Go sign up for a class right now.

If you're not sure which style to get involved with, well, I have a video all about that.

You can check that out. I'll put the link below.

Just remember that even if you can only show up for a class one time a

week, it's still going to be worth it.

Even a little martial arts will make your life a whole lot better.

So, whether you're 20 or 120, go for it.

Rah rah rah.

We all love a good pep talk, don't we?

But let's not turn off our brains completely.

The truth is that training in the martial arts does get a little trickier and

more difficult as you get older.

Let me give you an example. When I was in my teens, if I threw too many punches or kicks,

sure, I'd wake up sore.

but I'd usually recover over breakfast and

be back to full power by lunch.

In my 20's, if I woke up a little sore, it might take a day or two to recover.

In my 30's, maybe two or three days.

Now, I'm in my late 40's and let me tell you,

some days I wake up and I'm sore and it may take a week or two before

I'm feeling back to normal.

The weird thing is sometimes I don't even know why I'm so beat up.

Sometimes you just wake up and you're hurt.

No kidding, this week, I woke up and I swear, both of my shoulders were separated.

I didn't go to the hospital or anything like that, but I couldn't lift up either one of my arms

and I have no idea why.

I thought about it forever. Like, was I doing cartwheels the day before?

Was I hanging off of a helicopter?

No. I still have no idea.

So, the fact is, I am a little scared about what's going to happen to me in my 50s.

The older I get, I'm not sure if I'm ever going to be normal again.

Wait. Normal?

Did I say normal?

Let me tell you something else—how you define normal in your 40's is not the same

as how you define normal in your 20's.

When I was in my 20's, it was not normal for me to carry bandages, braces, and

Advil in my gym bag.

Now, don't get me wrong, I can still hit hard, just as hard as I could in my 20s,

just not all day, every day.

Which brings me to the secret of success for older martial artists.

The secret to success in the martial arts as you get older is mindset.

Consider my experience in BJJ.

I had white hair when I tied on a white belt in my first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class.

And in that class, there were a bunch of tough, terrifying 20-year-olds.

And when a 40-year-old tries to match up with a bunch of tough, terrifying 20-year-olds, let me tell you,

the 40-year-old goes home in pain and feeling like a loser.

But once I stopped trying to be 20, once I changed my goal to becoming the toughest, most terrifying

40-year-old that I could become, well, then class got a lot easier.

So, remember this--accept who you are. Accept what you can do, accept what you can't do.

As you get older, you should have more wisdom in knowing the difference.

(snoring)

Sorry.

That seems to happen more now, too.

All right.

Bottom line.

I don't care if you're 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, or whatever, if you've always wanted

to try martial arts—do it.

If you quit martial arts years ago and now you're worried that you'll never catch up,

well, thinking like that is just gong to make you farther and farther behind.

And if you're 12?

Man—shut your mouth.

The point is this--life is short, my friend.

If you want to do something, go do it.

Yes, the journey might be a little bit steeper when you get older,

you may take few more twists and turns, but I promise you, the climb is worth it.

With each step you take, the view gets a little better.

If you liked this video, thanks for giving it a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe to the channel.

Until next time, throw out the bingo cards and keep fighting for a happy life.

12 Absurd Things About Religion ! Shocking - Duration: 10:02.

these religious beliefs and practices are taking it a bit too far!

From Jesus' foreskin to dropping infants off the roof, I'm Lorenzo with Insane Curiosity

and this is 8 of the most absurd things about Religion!

1.

Jesus Christ and the Magical Foreskin

One of the many mysteries of the world is the 'Holy Grail', supposedly the cup that

Jesus Christ drunk from at the Last Supper, the meal he had with his disciples before

being crucified.

The possession of this Holy Grail would essentially prove the existence of Jesus Christ and the

story of his life.

But did you know there's (allegedly) an even more… 'personal' proof of Jesus?

In the Middle Ages, there were multiple claims that people actually possessed Jesus's foreskin.

It has disappeared and reappeared multiple times throughout history, at one point Charlemagne

gifted it to Pope Leo the Third.

Unfortunately that one was stolen, though another one was found in 1100 and partly legitimised.

A lot of the alleged legit foreskins were destroyed in the French Revolution.

Now, it is highly unlikely that this is the actual foreskin of Jesus.

But this doesn't take away from the fact that it was such a hotly debated issue throughout

history!

2.

The Holy Communion

Holy Communion is an extremely common event for Catholics and some Christians.

At the Eucharist that Christ took with his disciples at the Last Supper, he said 'this

do, in remembrance of me'.

Which is why Christians celebrate it.

The weird part of it is known as transubstantiation.

This is directly referring to the process of turning the bread (or wafer for Catholics)

and wine into the body and blood of Christ.

But this is not just said for effect, or as a metaphor.

They actually truly believe that this process turns that wine and bread into the literal

body and blood of Christ.

This process is slightly cannabilistic compared to other religious processes!

3.

Kapparot

Kapparot is a customary Jewish ritual.

The name comes from the Hebrew word meaning 'to atone'.

It is taken on the evening before Yom Kippur.

Tconsists of waving a live chicken above one's head while reciting scecific verses from the

Mahzor, a special holiday prayerbook.

The chicken is then killed and given to the homeless or poor as a gift.

The practice has obviously come under fire from Animal Rights groups that believe it

to be insensitive to animals.

But it remains an important event in Jewish tradition.

So, if you see someone waving a chicken around their head, they might just be performing

a special religious act!

4.

Naked Monks

Jainism is a relatively small religion based in India.

One of its main sects is Digambara.

The basic objective of Jainism is to achieve 'liberation of the soul'.

Well the monks of Digambara certainly know a lot about liberation!

They reject any form of clothing whatsoever.

And actually live naked or as they call it 'skyclad'.

Their nakedness is a statement that they are beyond feelings such as modesty and shame.

But their physical nakedness is not enough, the religion asks them to be naked for the

right reason, and within the right attitude.

5.

Infant Dropping

At a Muslim shrine near Sholapur, India, babies have been tossed off roofs for nearly 700

years.

The parents volunteer for their babies to be dropped, sometimes up to fifty feet onto

a bed sheet.

The event allegedly has no reports of any deaths or even injuries.

Nevertheless, rights activists all over the world have called for the practice to be stopped,

but all local officials have done is to supervise the ritual.

Supposedly a lot of the parents are ready to include their babies in the ritual as an

offering to a patron saint for having granted them the gift of a child.

The 700 year old ceremony is believed to make children more intelligent, luckier and healthier

and is practiced by both Muslims and Hindus in the region.

This is obviously extremely dangerous and quite sad, but that doesn't stop it being

very strange!

6.

Sky Burials

It may sound spiritual and majestic, but the intricacies of this one are strange to say

the least!

A popular ritual in Tibet.

It involved dissecting the dead body and placing the pieces in different areas of a mountaintop

to be eaten by the birds.

This sort of ritual probably comes about due to the fact that in a lot of Buddhist belief,

they think the body is just a vessel, that can be discarded.

Unfortunately for anyone wishing to float their friends dead body over the mountains,

this practice has been outlawed.

However, some will still perform it, given the families expressed consent of course!

You wouldn't want to see your old Grandma floating above you would you!

Thats why this makes our list!

7.

The Maradonian Church

This one is more of a strange religion than a strange practice!

There was an Argentinian soccer player called Diego Maradona who was exceptionally skilled!

He was so skilled that there are 80,000 people around the world who are part of a church

dedicated solely to him!

The basic principle of the church involves spreading the word of Diego's miracles across

the world, so that everyone can know his achievements.

This may sound slightly amusing, but one of the commandments is that you have to call

your son Diego, and change your own middle name to Diego as well!

I mean, he was a great football player, but really?!

8.

Eating Scabs

In medieval times, those cursed with leprosy were outcasts, exiled from civilised society

and forced to live on the outskirts of the community.

Though it was a popular practice for female saints to actually lick the puss and eat the

scabs of lepers.

It was thought of an as an extreme sign of holiness and oneness with the lord.

Well if religious spiritual completion is achieved through the licking of puss and scabs,

I think I'd rather go and pay a visit to the devil if I'm honest!

9.

Cutting off your fingers

Nobody likes losing a loved one, it's very painful!

But in the Dani tribe in Indonesia it means a certain amount of physical pain too!

Women of the Dani tribe must tie a string very tightly around their finger for 30 minutes

allowing it to go numb, after which they must chop part of it off!

Once the finger is amputated it is burned to cauterise the wound.

All the more reason to hope your relatives live to be very, very old!

10.

The dead walk!

Another one from Indonesia, the Toraja people take part in a ritual of exhuming the corpses

of their friends and family after they have been buried.

This means to dig up the dead!

This is mainly to clean them and their clothes.

However, the corpse is draped in garments and actually paraded around the village, be

it man, woman, child, anything!

Also if the person died in a particular spot, they are taken to that spot and then walked

home as a spiritual act of returning to ones rightful place in the underworld.

This is possibly the one time I wouldn't like to see my grandma!

11.

Self flagellation!

Ashura is an event in the Shiite muslims calendar.

It is widely known as the commemoration of the death of Imam Hussein.

He was the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad.

At the battle of Karbala, Imam and his troops were tortured and were struck in the heads

with swords multiple times.

To commemorate this day, muslim men flagellate themselves.

They usually do this with daggers to the head, this is done to pay tribute to Imam Hussein,

but also to absolve the sin of the person doing it, so they can cleanse themselves of

past trespasses.

They also do it to mourn the fact that Hussein was not able to be saved.

12.

Islamic friends with benefits

Sigheh is the Islamic tradition of temporary marriage.

It is an agreement that can last 5 minutes or 99 years.

Both parties must agree to a time limit, but that is the only rule!

Yes, you're thinking what I'm thinking.

Surely this is a cunning way around the loophole of abstaining from pre-marital sex?

And it must have been used for that at some point!

You want to go back to your place, hold on a sec, lets just sign this document and I'm

all yours!

Religion certainly is strange right!
