Aw, that 'posed to went in.
Al Mill used to be down at Brown Creek bull jiving, man.
He always talked joke to you.
Yeah.
BG, you some trash.
Til I turn it on, I have to turn it on sometimes.
I mean, as soon as me and Bruce got around each other,
there was not a lapse in how we carried it with each other
because we know each other.
And it's just like family members.
How things been up there, your neck of the woods,
since you been home?
Everything's been good, man.
Like I said, I got a good situation.
I mean, I stay at the crib with my own dues.
House is paid for.
The people at the DOT looked out for me and got me a job.
Getting into this paying bill thing and all that other mess.
Man, I like to have money to blow.
I like to have money to play with.
Got to take that check, pay this, pay that, pay this.
It ain't prison no more.
You got to pay for everything.
Everything a bill.
Then you got the kids.
I got a son, just graduated, finna go to college.
My daughter, she's going to high school.
High school?
You got a kid that old? - Yeah.
Man, you old as hell.
You know, my girl might need help on this.
I got the new baby too.
Something always popping up.
It took me a minute to adjust that.
Bruce has a whole different level of stress that I don't.
Coming out of prison and having a woman
and a newborn baby, just a whole all out family,
I can't imagine.
I'm supposed to be the head of the household.
I'm supposed to take care of my kids and my woman.
I know you was working at the brickyard when you got out.
What's going on now? You still up there?
What happened?
I switched jobs probably about two or three times, man.
I done had some jobs tell me that I was going to get hired.
Like a fool, I left one job, thinking about,
I'm for sure going to get hired here,
and it don't work out that way.
My girlfriend, she works.
I'm happy she can hold her own.
When I ain't got it, she can deliver.
That's what a partner made for.
And I appreciate that, but I don't know,
it's just something in me that have me be like,
you know, man, I've got to do more.
I've got to pull more.
I got to pull more of the weight.
And it frustrates me sometimes when I'm not able to pull
more than she pulls.
I worry about Keena doing so much.
I try to get her to talk about it,
but she don't voice it a lot, but I can see it.
I can see it a little bit.
I do feel like we need to talk about it.
She wants you to just relax, and just
be together, and work it.
I understand.
I mean, because you pretty much missed the years
with your other kids, right?
Now, you starting as a baby and you going to--
Raise her.
You're going to be here.
I know I got to come home to her.
I know I need to be there for her.
Does it seem like a lot of pressure for you, bruh?
You know, it gets rough.
Don't try to push it.
Don't try to--
Don't think that, I have to take a risk
to make this happen right now, especially if it's
not nothing that's a need.
I want this, I want that, I want this.
You want it right now, but do you need it?
I mean, like I say, you're not working right now,
but your girl is at a good job.
So you got what you need.
Bruce has a lot of responsibilities,
and when you fall into a situation
where you have a lot of things that need to be taken care of,
you want to do that.
You know what I mean? You want to get that done.
But finally being out, you have to remember to be patient.
You got to be positive.
You got to get to step your game, man
because it ain't easy out here.
Nah, nah it ain't.
It's boring in there.
Ain't enough weights, ain't enough phone calls,
ain't enough books, ain't enough mail
to not make you bored sitting behind them
stupid gates all day.
So it's boring in there, but it's hard out here, man.
Harder.
That's why it's a revolving door.
Everybody's so quick to say, man, I want to get out,
I want to do this.
And they say they ready, but when they get out here,
they don't be ready and go right back.
You know what I mean?
You can lose focus easy out here, man.
I didn't expect for it to be that hard, but it is.
My goals are still the same.
I just understand more now that I have
to work harder to reach them.
I always say, if I can make it through the trials
and tribulations of prison, I can make
it through society as well.
