Hows it going Youtube I am Landon Dowlatsingh and welcome to our most amazing top 10 channel.
Lets see if we can get this video to 7,000 likes so we can get this video trending on
youtubes home page that would be a dream come true for us.
Ok so we all know over the years Youtube has become a very fun place to be, but it can
also be a very scary places as well with the whole ad boycott and a ton of Youtube Glitches.
Some of you guys might not remember or even knew that their were a ton of glicthes on
Youtube.
Well I am about to fill you guys in with this one.
This is the top 10 scary youtube glitches.
Starting us off at number 10 we have the Youtube View Drop.
Everyone on youtube thought it was the end of Youtube.
Everyone was panicking because everyone's views were dropping on Youtube.
Millions of views were gone.
This happened over night back in 2015.
Youtube forms were filling up asking about their views.
This was effecting even the big subscribers like Nigahiga, smosh, jeana marbles.
Youtube was aware of this problem and realized that it was a system glitch on their end and
they told people via twittee that Youtube is aware of the problem with the views disappearing
and they are working on a fix.
It took a few days but the views did come back.
Number 9 was a scary one for me.
Back a few years ago youtube had a major problem where no users were able to upload a video.
I was greatly effected by this because across all my channels I upload around 10-15 videos
a day so one day of youtube not working has a great effect on me.
Also I do daily vlogging so that would have killed my streak but luckily youtube fixed
the problem just in time.
Charles Trippy who runs his channel CTFXC has been daily vlogging for I think 11 or
12 straight years now his world record streak almost came to an end.
Alright number 8.
Back in 2016 their was a huge problem where you couldn't access peoples videos, playlists
or any features on someones youtube channel.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97EPR81yvzo 0:07- 0:20 this was a very costly mistake
and a huge glitch on youtubes end.
This problem caused Youtubers to lose a lot of views because people were not able to find
the users videos.
They can only see certain videos that loaded on the main page of that persons youtube channel.
It seems like everytime youtube changes the platform it always comes with a glitch.
Number 7.
Not to long ago Youtube had a system where videos would freeze on view 302.
This is so Youtube can see if the next set of views were indeed real views or if the
views are being view boted.
People would actually have automatiated system where their browsers would re-fresh every
2 seconds to register a view.
Do this on multiple tabs and you can get your video in the thousands pretty quickly.
But with ever new system we learned there are many flaws.
Videos would be stuck on view 302 for weeks the views just wouldn't unfreeze.
I guess this is because youtube couldn't review the videos in time and when the view
counter would unfreeze the view count would be at 303 although there are thousands of
comments in the video meaning the video has been viewed more than 303 times.
Their would be a view count lag.
This went on for a very long time until the system was fixed and now I think think this
ven exsists anymore.
Error 500 comes in at number 6.
This is a internal server error.
This was pretty common error that frustrated a lot of people.
I think this problem mainly happened for people using chrome.
Youtube wouldn't load properally and than you get this error message saying a team of
monkeys are fixing it.
The fix for this was using Youtube incognito.
With this error you were not able to watch any youtube videos, acces your channel, upload
videos which caused huge concerns to a lot of people.
And a lot of people lost out on money because they were not able to upload videos.
Some hours youtube would work and other hours youtube seemed to be down.
Number 5, Youtube introduced whats called safe mode.
Meaning all videos that are not deemed advertiser friendly or has adult material in the video
it wont be viewed in youtubes new safe mode.
When people learned about this they put the safe mode on to see if any of their videos
were being effected and guess what.
So many safe and clean videos were not showing up in safe mode they were flagged for something.
One of the biggest controversy from this was when the LGBT community was being targeted.
Any video that had the word gay, lesbian in it wasn't deemed safe.
If a video was titled, my coming out story, or I suffer from depression, was also not
being placed in safe mode.
The CEO came back and said they are very sorry about this there are flaws in their systems
and they are trying their best to fix it.
That always seems like their excuse when they get caught with something wrong.
Our systems are flawed we are aware of the situation and we are looking to fix it.
Number 4.
Ok so we all know Youtube has whats called a 3 strike rule.
Well there are two different types of strikes, a copy right strike or a community strike.
A copy right strike is if your video contains copy written material in it and someone claims
your video that's 1 strikes.
It can take 6 months to go away.
Also there is the community strike which is for the community to strike your videos if
they are deemed not youtube friendly.
If there is racism in it, something in the video is dangerous, if you make fun of someone
your video can be taken down and you can get a strike.
Well last year in 2016 their was a huge problem of channels being shut down due to people
falsely flagging the channels.
2016 was the big year of youtube channel attacking each other like leafyishere, gradeaundera,
idubbz and the audience from these channels would go to the channel they hated and mass
flag videos until the channel was shut down.
Some of these mega channels makes thousands of dollars a day so for a channel to go down
for just one day is a huge deal.
Youtube eventually fixed this glitch and now its hard to shut down a channel.
Number 3.
Back about 4 or 5 years ago do you remember when psys song gangnam sytle broke the Youtube
counter.
Youtube created a system that can only count views up to 2.1 billion views but this video
surpassed it so the video was just stuck for a while at 2 billion 147 million 483 thousand
647 views to be exact.
Youtube had no idea that one video could gain so many views so they had to upgrade their
32 bit signed integer to a 64-bit signed interger.
So now videos can hit over 9 quintillion which is a 9 and 15 zero placements that is a very
large number and I think its safe to say no video will ever hit that number.
But who knows people thought 2.1 billion was insane.
At number 2, is a problem that is currently going on right now.
Youtube has been having huge problems with its demonetization.
There are automated systems that detect videos that are not suitable to get monetized and
well this system was very flawed because kid friendly videos, or videos that are very youtube
friendly were getting demonetized.
Big Youtubers like Casey Neistat who doesn't post anything inappropriate had a problem
with getting demonetized.
This caused Youtube hundreds of millions of dollars.
I know this caused us Youtubers a ton of finical lost as well.
Ive actually lost some channels because of this and had to do major lay offs its been
a very troubling time.
And this problem is still on going.
Finally at number 1, at the beginning of this year we experienced Youtubers losing millions
of subscribers an hour.
Is this real life right now, the king of Youtube was losing millions of subscribers.
Pewdiepie made a video about this whole youtube glitch and when he filmed his video he lost
almost 1 million subscribers but he ended up losing way more as time went on.
So what happened was when people were subscribing it counted as one new subscribers, but when
people were unsubscribing it counted it as 2 people unsubscribing.
People wanted to see if this was an actually glitch so thousands of people unsubbed to
their favorite Youtubers and they noticed 2 less subscribers for them and when they
subscribed back it was only one.
Youtube was aware of this problem that went on for days and they eventually fixed it.
