Audient iD44 - The Features - Duration: 6:11.

Hey its Harry from Audient and I'm going to take you through some of the features on

our new, high performance audio interface, iD44.

iD44 features 4 Class-A Audient console mic preamps, the same preamp design found in our

renowned console, the ASP8024 Heritage Edition, and all our other products.

and accurate, yet with enough analogue warmth to add a bit of character to your recordings.

Each preamp on iD44 has the same controls.

You will find a gain knob with signal and peak LEDs for setting your input levels, a

phantom power switch for providing 48V for your condenser microphones, a minus 10dB pad

for dealing with loud sources, and a high pass filter to help remove any low-end rumble

from your mics.

A phase reverse button has also been included in the iD mixer, allowing you to fix any phase

issues you may have when dealing with multiple microphones.

Having high quality converters are a vital factor in accurately hearing what you are

recording or mixing.

This is why after extensive testing and countless hours of listening, we've carefully selected

the best sounding converters for both the AD and the DA making sure you have detailed

audio on the way in, as well as the way out.

iD44's comprehensive I/O gives you all the flexibility and functionality you need to

set up your ideal studio.

Add up to 16 extra channels of mic pres and take control of those bigger sessions, like

recording a live band, string section, or even a small orchestra.

You can also make use of the 16 digital outputs, which is great if you want to use iD44 with

something like a hearback system for artist headphone monitoring.

Integrate your outboard gear into your workflow, using iD44's fully balanced insert points.

Channels 1 and 2 feature both a send and a return, enabling you to patch in your favourite

piece of hardware gear - perfect for creating vocal chains, or adding a bit of character

to your kick and snare for example.

If you don't want to commit your effects as you record, you can use iD44's line outputs

to send audio from your DAW, to your outboard gear, and then back into the returns.

The return connectors also give you direct access to iD44's class leading converters,

bypassing the built in preamps and allowing you to record analogue gear such as standalone

preamps without changing their character.

iD44 has two JFET D.I inputs on channels 1 and 2, designed to replicate the input stage

of a classic valve amplifier.

Our discrete D.I circuit design ensures you get an accurate, yet warm signal when recording

electric guitar, bass or even synth.

Whether you're quickly laying down an idea, running a full guitar tracking session with

emulation software, or recording your favourite synth, iD44's D.I makes sure you get the

best sounding signal from the start.

Taking inspiration from our heritage in analog console design, iD44 features a range of flexible

monitor control functions, including dedicated talkback, cut and dim buttons, along with

mono, polarity, speaker select, and low latency cue-mix monitoring.

The non dedicated monitor controls can be assigned to three programmable hardware function

buttons.

Whether your checking your mix for mono translation, auditioning cue mixes for your artists or

simply switching between speakers, you can customise iD44 to work best for your workflow.

iD44 has two sets of line outputs, letting you plug in two pairs of speakers at once.

It also has two independent stereo headphone amps, designed to provide enough power to

your headphones to perform at their best.

This gives you incredible depth and accuracy at all times, so there's no more need to compromise

when working on headphones.

All of iD44's extensive output routing can be controlled using the new iD mixer software.

Perfect for sending out headphone mixes to artists, or for routing audio to external

outboard gear.

Whether your are using it to run large session, or simply need it in the background.

The iD mixer gives you total control and reliability, where you need it most.

We all know that communication between an engineer and an artist is a vital part of

any session, and having an efficient talkback system is more important than ever.

With that in mind, iD44's new, dedicated talkback technology allows you to use any

audio source connected to your computer as a talkback mic.

This means you can use your computer's built-in mic, or a USB microphone as your talkback

source, freeing up valuable mic pres when you are working on those larger sessions.

Alternatively you can still use iD44's inputs.

Once you've selected the audio source, talkback can be controlled using iD44's hardware

talkback button.

The talkback button also features our custom smart-switching technology enabling you to

quickly press to latch the button and keep the communications open, or for a quick word

with the artist, hold it down for momentary operation.

The flexible talkback options on iD44 give you simple solutions at your fingertips, suitable

for all scenarios in the studio.

ScrollControl enables to you control compatible software parameters using iD44's hardware

volume knob.

Designed to help you spend less time staring at the screen, and more time using your ears,

New(ish) Fiction for Winter Reading - Duration: 6:07.

Hi, it's Wallace with your Monday video. Today I'm gonna tell you about three of

the books that I just got from a book store locally. These are not books that

were sent to me. These are books that I purchased, which means they're out in the

bookstore, in the library. Many of you know that I'm not huge into YA. um

This one is considered YA. I originally thought it was a middle grade

novel but it is technically for grades 6 through 12. But I originally saw this on

Karina from from book riot, but also the author of the vanderbeakers of 141st

street, which you've seen me mentioned multiple times on these videos

and in my Instagram because it's such a good middle grade novel you should

definitely pick it up. I saw her posting about it and I

immediately wanted to read it. This book is written by an author from Spain,

Antonio Iturbe. And I hope I'm saying his name correctly. And it's translated

by Lilit Thwaites. I apologize if I got those names wrong. But it is a book of

translation if you're looking for one of these for any of your reading challenges

this year, then this might be a good one to choose. This one is about a 14 year

old named Dita who was taken from her home in Prague with her mother and

father and make their way through ghettos to the Jewish ghettos until

they're put in Auschwitz in Poland. When she's in Poland, when she's in Auschwitz,

she's approached by the Jewish leader Freddy Hirsch to take care of the 8

volumes that the Jews have been able to sneak past the guards and then she

becomes the librarian of Auschwitz. This is actually based on a true story and in

writing this novel the author did interview the real librarian of

Auschwitz. So this hits a lot of different points.

It's a translated work by diverse author about historical fiction which is highly

important in particular right now -- I'm going to put my own little politics in

there -- in particular right now and it is also based on a true story

and I'm so looking forward to this book. I might, this might be my my very next

read. I'm about to finish one of my books. I'm reading, I'm reading two books. I'm

listening to one right now and I try not to do that as much anymore because I'm

finding that I'm not finishing books as quickly if I do that. But um there's just

so much I want to read. So I think as soon as I'm done with the woman in the

window which I'm about a few pages from finishing this is gonna be my next read.

This next one is called Elizabeth the First Wife by Lian Dolan.

It's, um, the author of Helen of Pasadena, which I don't know if any of you have

read that one. I haven't read it but I've seen it around. This one is about a woman

who is a professor of Shakespearean literature, comes from a family of like

Nobel laureates and doctors who are curing cancer and people in politics. So

just impressive people in her family. And everybody keeps telling her that she

needs to up her game. She needs to do better

in all these different areas of her life including the man that she's with. Her ex

was a movie star and so they're telling her that she needs to do better. So this

is actually the story of her not taking their advice and going to work with her

ex at a Shakespeare Festival and seeing what happens then and what she learns

from the entire process. So this one interests me a little bit because of the

Shakespeare professor slant and also hits home because I think so many of us,

especially those of us who are in the time of life that I'm in where you're

raising kids and you're having your job and there's you know a lot of things to

compare yourself to looking around, it's easy to compare ourselves to others. And

so I just want to read this book and kind of see what this author has to say

about it. I like this kind of story that brings that to light and then talks

about it. The last one is the wife between us. It's another psychological

thriller. Apparently I'm into that right now.

This one just came out and it is another hot psychological thriller that's supposed

to be completely crazy and completely the new gone girl. I'm sure it's not. But

it still could be fun. And I don't mean to be a downer on that but I think I'm

done reading that something is the next gone girl. I think it's totally okay to say

it's just a good psychological thriller book. The more it gets

compared to gone girl, the more I'm looking for those

similarities and they're never there because it's not the same story. So let's

just take this one as the next cool psychological thriller that people are

going to be talking about cause it's gonna be a good one. It's about an ex-wife and

apparently you're supposed to believe that she's completely in love with her

ex-husband. She's trying to get in between him and his new girlfriend,

fiance. They both want to marry this guy. And then we find out what the truth is.

So this one should be fun. It's not crazy long and it's supposed to be good.

So these ones are really good too for me to read in between like something heavier

or more information fact-based nonfiction type of stuff because it's

just a good fun roller coaster ride that is good entertainment. So that's all for

today. I did get a few non-fiction books. I'll share those with you guys later.

But I had awesome help present a really cool wheelchair made for sand my foot has definitely been on an adventure this trip

Justin posted his own photo of his mom's unfortunate injury on his own Instagram account

He shared a photo of her sitting in the really cool wheelchair Patti mentioned

She looks happy with flowers in her hair as resort employees surround her and the love yourself singer

Even though the stars mother got hurt. She's definitely seemed to make the most of her private island getaway

earlier in their vacation she got the boat Justin on social media

she posted a photo of the two of them relaxing on a boat in the Indian Ocean and

Captioned it with a long message dedicated to how proud she is a big Grammy winner

Hope they're having a wonderful time together

VOLA ARES Guitar - Metal - Duration: 5:31.

Hi I'm Ola and this is the Vola Ares guitar.

*Feared - My Grief My Sorrow*

So this is the third Vola Guitar that I've tried and while the other ones were

more into the rock range this Ares one is more metal oriented for sure

loaded with seymour duncan pegasus and sentient pickups. Hand built in Japan

it's an mahogany body with a solid quilted maple top and that top is

just really deep and nice-looking, I feel like going fully nude right now and

just jump in for a swim. Hard maple bolt-on neck with ebony fretboard, it has

a Gotoh GE1996 floating tremolo and the Gotoh locking nut and tuners.

And to describe the feel of the neck it has a slight D shape that feels very

comfortable, very smooth and even though it's a bolt-on neck

reaching to that 24th fret is not a problem at all. Now look at the back here

I've always loved when there's mahogany on the back, because of it being a bit

more red or brown it gives them more of a "roustic" feeling...

Is that even a word?

Let's go with elegant, it gives a really elegant look to the guitar

And when you see the neck you see it's a three piece maple neck guitar.

So lets try it out.

So this guitar is definitely more in my ballpark when it comes to Vola,

it's just an awesome guitar and I really like how it's not getting out of tune when I

use the tremolo a lot. Sounds absolutely crushing with the
