In this video we are gonna countdown the top 5 most engaging freestyles of all time.

But before we get to that we want to remind you that we will be giving the results of

our Instagram contest at the end of this video, and launching our next contest where you can

win a $25 gift card to yoyotricks.com, but first, here's the top 5 countdown.

For a yoyo routine to be engaging it has to have great tricks, of course, but it also

has to be about more than the tricks.

While those not intimate with the more subtle and impressive nuances of trick construction

will still be impressed by most modern yoyo routines, these are the routines that will

make even the most yoyo ignorant want to stand up and shout.

In other words, these are the routines that would be awesome on any stage, not just a

yoyo contest.

While not every routine in this list won the competition the year it was performed, each

has left a lasting impact on the sport and performance of yo-yoing.

#5 In 2011 Ben Conde performed what was called

at the time, "The best yoyo freestyle ever."

He blew everyone's minds with his crazy, risky grind tricks, popularized the use of

open string binds, at least for players in the US, and helped to pioneer the practice

of custom editing music to craft performance-driven routines.

This routine alone caused a 4A boom which lasted for several years in the United States.

But that is not the routine we're adding to our list.

That spot goes to his 2015 worlds routine.

See, his 2011 routine, while ground breaking had a lot of dead time, and a couple restarts

and even a change out.

Anyone who became a fan of of Ben because of that routine, which, you know, was everybody,

anticipated the day he would throw down that perfect routine.

In 2015 our hopes were realized.

To a funky soundtrack Ben threw one of the only flawless routines that year featuring

some of the riskiest tricks ever performed on the competitive stage.

It was the realization of all the anticipation he started in 2011, and it was awesome.

#4 In 2014 Hajime Miura stunned the yoyo world

by taking home the top spot in the 3A yoyo division beating out 3 time world champion

Hank Freeman.

While that routine was impressive, in 2015 he threw the only 3A yoyo routine ever to

go viral on Facebook and Youtube.

Every aspect of the routine was choreographed to perfection, the tricks were all super clean

- which is notoriously difficult to do in that division - and just look at him.

He's like 12 years old and he is yo-yoing to a song about getting your first kiss.

Cute and electrifying, who can compete with that!

#3 When Gentry Stein took the stage in the 2014

world yoyo contest, even those of us who had followed his career closely knew that he couldn't

win.

His competitors' tricks were just too good.

Then we all witnessed one of the most ground breaking routines to date.

Every trick was iconic, perfectly mapped to one of the best songs ever to be heard on

the competitive stage, a song that started off good, but was further improved by his

own music editing.

When the final scores were totaled he did lose the technical trick score, but then made

up the difference and then won the day with his now legendary performance.

Is it any wonder that Gentry has not only continued to win contests every year since,

but he has been in music videos, featured on Steve Harvey, and even filmed tutorials

of his most iconic tricks on YoYoTricks.com?

#2 Speaking of legendary performances, in 2015

Jake Elliott pulled off the most narrow win in world yoyo history defeating 6 time world

champion Takeshi Matsuura.

Using a yoyo that he had only been practicing with for a few weeks before the contest - a

yoyo that is now a legend in its own right - he hit tricks that were so dense and sophisticated,

so innovative and so… what!?! all perfectly mapped to the music, full of attitude and

charisma.

This routine was so compelling the band who performed the song shared it on Facebook where

it racked up millions upon millions of views.

Before we get to the top routine, one of our favorites that almost made the list is Tessa

Piccillo's 2014 win at the world yoyo contest.

Beside being an all around great routine, the moment when she lands the horizontal circular

eli hops like it's nobody's business, but still looks surprised with herself, is

such a genuine moment that we can't help but smile every time that we watch it.

#1 In our number one spot we have Shu Takada's

2012 winning freestyle in the 2A division of the world yoyo contest.

Shu is one of the great pioneers in the 2a division of both trick construction and performance,

and this routine exemplifies both.

He is acrobatic, he is enthusiastic, all the while performing such unique and difficult

tricks he was able to take 20 seconds in the middle of his routine to do this:

And he still came away with the win.

That's what I call an engaging performance.

SHE BOUGHT THEM AFTERWARDS.

YOU MIGHT DO THAT IF YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT GOING TO

DO MUCH TO FIGHT TOBACCO SMOKING.

>>THAT IS WHY IT IS A HUGE CONFLICT OF INTEREST.

ALSO WE ARE DEALING WITH A HUGE OPIOID CRISIS WHICH IS

PARTLY TO BLAME ON PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES.

KEEP IN MIND SHE ALSO INVESTED IN PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES

INCLUDING MERCK AND BAYER.

THOSE COMPANIES DON'T PRODUCE THE OPIOIDS IN QUESTION BUT

IT DOES NOT MATTER.

IT IS STILL A PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY THAT NEEDS TO BE

REGULATED TO PREVENT THE ABUSE OF CERTAIN DRUGS OR THE OVER

PRESCRIPTIONS.

SHE KNOWS SHE PURCHASE THAT STOCK AFTER GETTING THIS

POSITION AT THE CDC SHOULD CONCERN EVERYONE.

CDC WAS QUIETLY BETTING AGAINST THE CDC TO MAKE PROFITS FOR

HERSELF AT THE EXPENSE OF THE REST OF US?

IMMIGRATION OFFICIALS CONTINUE TO DEPORT INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE

BEEN IN THE COUNTRY FOR DECADES AND HAVE NOT COMMITTED A CRIME.

THE RECENT CASE THAT HAS MADE NATIONAL HEADLINES INVOLVES A

PALESTINIAN MAN WHO HAS BEEN IN

THE UNITED STATES FOR NEARLY 40 YEARS.

HE WAS NOT ONLY SOMEONE WHO WAS HERE FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME,

HE WAS ALSO A SMALL BUSINESS

OWNER WHO HAD EMPLOYED SEVERAL PEOPLE IN THE STATE OF OHIO.

HE ALSO HAD A WIFE AND DAUGHTER WHO ARE US CITIZENS.

IT EVEN WENT SO FAR AS TO IGNORING AN ORDER FROM THE

JUDICIARY COMMITTEE IN CONGRESS THAT URGE THEM TO ALLOW

THEM TO STAY SO THEY CAN INVESTIGATE THE SITUATION.

LET ME GIVE YOU THE DETAILS.

AGAIN HE HAS BEEN HERE FOR NEARLY 40 YEARS

ñ 39 TO BE SPECIFIC.

HE WOULD'VE TEMPORARILY REMAINED IN THE US FOR SIX MONTHS.

THE REASON WHY HIS CASE NEEDED TO BE INVESTIGATED WAS THERE WAS

AN ACCUSATION THAT HIS PREVIOUS

MARRIAGE WAS A FRAUD.

HIS EX-WIFE CAME OUT AND SAID I WAS COERCED INTO MY INITIAL

STATEMENT BUT OUR MARRIAGE WAS NOT A FRAUD.

HE WAS IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH ME AND HE HAS NEVER COMMITTED

ANY CRIMES.

THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED, HE SHOULD STAY HERE IN THE

UNITED STATES.

BUT ICE OFFICIALS DEPORTED HIM ANYWAY.

ACCORDING TO REPRESENTATIVE TIM RYAN WHO HAS BEEN ON THE WARPATH

ñ I'LL GIVE YOU MORE DETAILS BUT CENK, JUMP IN.

Hello girl friends! Welcome to another episode of Tried and Tested.

Today we're going to be trying out some products from Daiso Korea's makeup line.

It's called Crush On You 0720.

So the packaging is super cute

and it's very unlike Daiso makeup products?

And everything is below like, $7 so still super affordable.

And, the name, 0720.

So, we heard that it's because it's targeted at students

and 7.20am is the time school starts.

It's been a while but I remember that.

Okay. So anyway, all this is not available in the Singapore Daiso

so we got it from Airfrov!

And Airfrov is a service that allows you to get people

who are travelling overseas to buy stuff and bring it back to you.

Stuff that you obviously don't have in your home country lah.

This is Everyday Tone-Up Sun Cream.

So it's a CC cream,

it colour corrects your skin,

so it helps to take down redness and also increase brightness

by decreasing sallowness

and this also works as a primer

and it also works as your sunscreen.

And it's SPF 50+PA+++

It looks like a hand cream actually.

This is $3.60 but the packaging does not look $3.60.

It actually really looks quite...

It looks a lot more expensive than that?

So unlike foundations, CC cream comes out white

and it kind of colour corrects itself to your skin

or it kind of like creates such a thin layer that you don't see it anymore?

Honestly? Like I haven't quite figured it out

because there are some CC creams you put on, you spread out and that becomes a beige.

There's also some CC creams you spread it out,

then it takes a while then it settles in.

But before that it looks really white on your skin.

Now I'm going to try it on half of my face

and let's see how this works!

It smells really nice by the way,

like it's a very pleasant fragrance.

This one kind of feels a lot like sunscreen.

It's quite thick and creamy,

but it doesn't feel like just moisturizer thick.

It feels a bit more viscous than that.

Sometimes like, I'm not so sure about CC cream

because even though the white gets blended away

I feel like it does leave a bit of a white cast?

This half is with CC cream and this half is without.

So as you can see, my face is actually immediately quite a lot brighter.

And this is actually very easy to blend

even though it was quite... thick.

But it just kind of like went in very easily

and it smells so good.

It's not sticky at all actually.

Maybe a little bit tacky,

but like almost... negligible.

But then again, it doesn't feel like there's nothing on my skin.

I feel like there is a bit of a white cast on my face

but that's my personal preference

because some people actually like it

because they feel... it brightens the face.

So... when I look at it I go like yes my face is brighter,

but it also... to me feels very white.

In terms of correcting the colour,

to me, I feel... not so much,

it kind of feels like just...

it just gave it like, a white cast?

Over my face? So...

I'm not quite into that so I would give this... I think...

a 6 out of 10.

This is the Baby Like Blusher

with a little heart sign on it

and it's in orange sherbet.

So it's got the same...

on top of the blusher.

It's like a pastel... orange... colour...

Nothing seems to be coming out.

Oh there's a little bit but the colour is very faint.

I've already put a lot,

I can barely see it in real life

so I think on camera you most probably can't see anything at all?

So I'm going to try this on my face!

Oh, actually it's really quite pretty.

It's like a pastel orange.

So this is like very natural,

it's a very, very youthful natural orange.

All of them are saying cannot see on camera!

And...

But you can see it sort of, in real life,

not sort of, you can really see it in real life.

Hahaha!

I like the pastel,

I like the milkiness of the orange,

which is actually...

not super duper duper common.

And it's really very...

Natural.

It's for... it's for students!

So they don't get caught in school, wearing makeup!

Okay I would give this... 8 out of 10.

I felt like I had to put on a lot more blush than I normally do

to get this colour pay-off.

This is Real Dip Oil Tint.

Is it like real deep oil tint?

Or like the real dip oil tint?

I don't know.

But anyway the packaging is super cute,

kisses everywhere.

This is supposed to be like glossy and also moisturizing to the lips!

Oh! That's pretty.

Oooh.

What is this?

This is a very Korean beauty kind of colour.

It is very moisturizing

and it it glossy, which is interesting for a tint.

I'm not sure where the oil is in this

because it doesn't feel like oil at all?

It's in between a gloss, a tint and a tint in oil.

It's like a mix of all because to me this doesn't really feel like a tint in oil.

But I think the colour is really pretty,

it is moisturizing,

and I like the glossy finish.

Application was easy,

packaging is win!

And $2.40? Oh my god!

And the colour pay-off is great!

So I would give this a 9 out of 10.

Can't really see much, but I guess it's sort of like a base colour anyway?

And I'm going to use this colour.

So far I feel like I'm putting a lot of product

but I cannot really see anything.

And then, I'm going to take...

Yeah... So I've gone over this quite a few times now,

but like nothing seems to be... happening.

Now I try with the sponge tip.

Well I guess this kind of applies better with the sponge

and I can see a bit more.

Maybe I try with the bronzey like in the centre.

Oh this is... Wow, the fall out on this is terrible.

We've given this... palette a whirl...

and a lot of the colour doesn't really come off.

And also, I mean, like...

It's already quite neutral?

So... it feels like I put a lot of product

but not much of it like, kind of stayed on my eyelid.

So I'm...

Not really feeling this palette so much.

The lighter colours especially, are very, very, very...

...faint on the eyes.

The colours don't really come off

so it's kind of hard to like,

to blend and all that kind of thing.

I mean it's...

blendable, but it's like there's so little colour.

It's like negligible.

The fall out during application especially for this colour,

is... quite a lot...?

So...

Yeah, I'm not really feeling this.

I think I would give it like...

I don't know.

A 4 out of 10?

Or a 3?

I mean, there's some colour but it's just a lot of work to make it happen.

as a kid for me it was very hard to make friends and as I've gotten older I know

that I should just keep the people around me that are very important and

don't let negative people into my life I've lost a lot of friends as I've

gotten older in many have passed away it's it was very difficult for me to

keep friends because I was always afraid to get too close to people because it

felt like the closer I got to people I was lost then as a friend and then I

closed myself off from others around me to the point that I just disconnect me

from everything and I just enclosed in myself to the point to where I just quit

socializing and it felt like a job a really hard task to keep friends or do

even gain friends and just felt like a lot of work to try to explain yourself

with somebody and have them get to know you and all the work get to put into it

just felt like a waste of time at some points in my life

and after the friends I did lose it had a pretty big impact on me and I

never really talked to anybody about it and I think that's part of why now I

have a really hard time connecting with people because I just

cut myself from doing that in the first place

but now I've made a few friends that matter to me and I'm doing what I enjoy

and as long as we keep doing the things that we enjoy and just associate with

the people that matter to us then things should be okay

and when I was a kid I didn't I have hardly any friends and a few it did have

they passed away I had one friend and sixth-grade that I was really close to

and I gave him this game to play over the summer he was going to give it back

to me when school started back up and I didn't have his phone number anything

because we were very poor we didn't have any money

so we never had a phone and I had no way of getting ahold of him because I didn't

know where he lived and I couldn't get there anyways because I had no one that

could take me and so once school started back up he he never showed up

and didn't see him anywhere and one day in class one of the teachers asked if

somebody knew of this kid and I told them yes I knew who that is and the

teacher told me that he'd passed away and I never I never knew about it and it

was a really strange feeling to have a close friend and then to have him just

disappear like that

and then after the teacher told us that he passed away I kind of took it uh as I

did with a lot of things in life where I just I'm numb to it to where after

things happen to you so often you get at the point where they don't really bother

you and then as you get older you realize it did bother you

you just never thought about it because you want to avoid that pain as much as

possible and I spent a lot of time alone drawing and doing things but I do

spend quite a bit of time while enjoying really thinking about a lot of things

trying to figure myself out and for me it always seems like talking to people

really didn't do a whole lot of helping myself and talking about problems really

didn't do much for me it was I always had to take action and do things because

talking about it never did anything and that's why I pursued running and then I

got back in control now because it takes my mind off of a lot of things that I'm

thinking about and

I know that um for some people can be hard to keep people around because it

seems like in the world that there's a lot of negative people they don't want

anything to do with you until you have something to offer them but just because

there's a lot of negative people like that doesn't mean should let that affect

you to change you in to being a type of person because there are some good

people out there and we shouldn't be afraid of making friends just because

we're afraid you'd afraid of losing them

but what we should live with is to avoid

the whole I thought that i need to be a certain type of person or do certain

things for people to like us when we should just be ourselves and I had

another friend it was later on this was in seventh grade he also passed away and

then in eighth grade i had two friends that also passed away and it seemed like

each person that I gotten really close to his friends that I made would pass

away from something and then throughout high school I had friends but they they

weren't really close or anything they were they were more like people that I

just talk to you that we had things that were similar you know had similar

interests we had similar hobbies I had a couple friends a ninth-grade those

really close to what ever since I moved I didn't really hear from them at all

anymore and now it's like my best friend is doing the thing that I love doing

which is drawing and the jewelry that is it won't leave me because it's something

I choose to do they'll always be there for me despite my differences despite my

choices despite who I am or any mistakes I've

made

it'll always be there for me and that's why in life if you don't have anyone

find something you love doing make that your passion
