Manchester United fought back from a goal down to earn a share of the points in an entertaining Premier League clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge

Antonio Rudiger headed the home side into the lead after Paul Pogba failed to track his man from a corner, with the Frenchman then throwing a tantrum at his team-mates on the pitch

However, Jose Mourinho's side got back into the game in controversial fashion when Anthony Martial slammed home Ashley Young's cross as Marcos Alonso lay stricken in the penalty area

The United winger then doubled his tally with a cool finish following good work from Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford but Ross Barkley pounced late before tempers flared on the touchline

Express Sport have rated the Manchester United players for their performances against Chelsea – do you agree?Manchester United player ratings vs Chelsea – Premier League GK: David De Gea – 7 Didn't get close to Rudiger's header but comfortably denied Alvaro Morata in the second half then made a top save from N'Golo Kante

Almost earned United the win with a brave late stop but couldn't deny Barkley. RB: Ashley Young – 7 Was involved in plenty of the early exchanges, leaving several late challenges on Hazard as he tried to nullify Chelsea's greatest threat

Threatened with some dangerous balls into the box and more than held his own in defence

CB: Chris Smalling – 5 Began strongly and never looked in too much trouble against Morata

Commanding in the air and made some key interceptions, but his distribution was poor and the centre-back played David Luiz onside for a great chance

CB: Victor Lindelof – 6 Looked much more confident than usual alongside Smalling, winning nearly all of his aerial battles

Rightly ignored Pogba when the French midfielder tried to attribute blame his way for Rudiger's goal

LB: Luke Shaw – 6 Kept Willian quiet for much of the afternoon and got forward when he could to keep Chelsea pegged back

Enjoyed himself much more in the second half as United grew into the game. CM: Nemanja Matic – 7 Committed plenty of niggly fouls and it wasn't long before he found himself in the book after performing a rugby tackle on Hazard

Was there to perform a disruptive job and did it with ease, helping United control the game in the second half

CM: Paul Pogba – 4 Guilty of losing Rudiger from a corner but then attempted to blame Lindelof, or anyone else in the vicinity

Tried hard to make amends with some wild shots from distance, but little came off for the Frenchman

RAM: Marcus Rashford – 8 Spritely and full of running on the right flank. Caused the Chelsea defence problems all afternoon and kept composed to find Martial for United's second

CAM: Juan Mata – 8 Asked to harass Jorginho as much as possible and did this to great effect in the early stages

Showed some great feet to almost find an opening before clattering Cesar Azpilicueta late, then showed a good turn off pace to break down the right and create Martial's second

An unsung hero of United's side. LAM: Anthony Martial – 9 Fantastic touch and finish to bring United level, with the winger displaying a level of composure otherwise lacking from his team-mates

Martial then showed it wasn't a fluke with a brilliant finish to put United into the lead, earning a hug and a smile off his manager as he was substituted

ST: Romelu Lukaku – 6 Barely involved in the first half as Luiz and Rudiger starved him of service

Headed one chance wide then found things a bit easier in the second half, although clear-cut chances were still hard to come by

Hold-up play was much improved but needs to do more when his side are struggling

SUB: Ander Herrera (on for Mata, 74 mins) – 5 Brought on to help shut up shop but couldn't stop the Blues from earning a point

SUB: Andreas Pereira (on for Martial, 83 mins) – N/A Confusion reigned as Mourinho couldn't decide who to substitute late on, but Pereira eventually got involved for a few minutes

SUB: Alexis Sanchez (on for Rashford, 84 mins) – N/A No time to make an impact going forward as United were penned in during the closing stages
