- Recently everyone has been talking about Scott Pruitt.

He's the head of the Environmental Protection Agency

and the love child of George W. Bush

and a baked potato.

Because, you see, he's taken cabinet scandals

to a whole new level.

- President Trump is standing by

EPA administrator Scott Pruitt amid growing ethics scandals.

- Let me put up a list of all

the other things that have come up.

There's the condo that he rented from energy lobbyists.

He approved raises, apparently,

for two aides' salaries

after the White House had declined the request.

He asked security to use sirens to cut through traffic.

He reassigned staffers after they raised concerns

about his spending.

He requested a 24/7 security detail

on personal trips

that racked up tens of thousands of dollars.

- Okay, okay. Hold up. Hold up.

Am I the only person who was shocked

when they went to page two?

[laughs]

Like, when your scandal résumé goes to the second page,

ya done [bleep] up.

Like, that's so much scandal.

Even Shonda Rhimes would be like,

"Okay, this is unrealistic. Come on, now.

How much scandal for one person?"

I mean, this list is so long that the CNN anchor

literally has to pause to catch her breath.

- He spent $120,000 on a trip to the Vatican.

He hired 12 more agents, costing at least

$2 million per year for their salaries.

[inhales] He has all these flights in first class,

totaling more than $100,000

in the first year of the administration.

He has spent approximately $25,000

for a highly secure soundproof booth for Pruitt.

He considered buying a $70,000 bulletproof desk replacement.

You're okay with all that?

- Uh, no, I am not okay with that.

And neither should anyone else, right?

The head of the EPA is spending taxpayer money

like he just woke up in Chris Brown's body.

Like, what is he doing?

I mean, let's--like, let's just look at some of the things

that he did, all right?

He spent $120,000 to go high-five the pope, right?

He also said that he was afraid

that people were listening to his phone conversations,

so he spent $43,000 building a soundproof booth.

Yeah, $43,000 on a soundproof booth.

[bleep] never heard of whispering?

[laughter]

And--[laughs] And I'm sorry--

[cheers and applause]

And I'm sorry. Listen-- just listen to this one.

Listen to this one.

Scott Pruitt wanted to spend $75,000

on a bulletproof desk,

which I don't even understand.

What's the point of a bulletproof desk?

It only works if your assassin

doesn't know how to walk around stuff.

He's like, "Die!

"Oh, where'd he go? Where'd he go?

Oh, man, this always happens."

And also, why does the head of the EPA

need this level of security anyway?

Like, who's coming after him?

A polar bear coming for revenge?

Like--just like, "Hey, Pruitt, you drowned my wife!"

Oh, and surprise, surprise.

Scott Pruitt only flies first class,

but the reason he gave is pretty great.

- Pruitt says he needs first class because of

unpleasant interactions with passengers.

- What might be an example of that?

According to the security office, an individual

who approached Pruitt at an airport, yelling,

"Scott Pruitt, you're effing up the environment."

- [laughs]

Uh, you're fixing up the environment?

What did that mean?

First of all, whoever said that to him in the airport

is a hero, okay?

And, uh-- Yeah, he is.

[applause]

And secondly--secondly, flying first class

doesn't help you avoid angry passengers, right?

Because now everyone on the plane is walking past you.

Yeah, there's just gonna be, like, a line of people

just being like, "You're effing up the environment."

"You're effing up the environment."

"You drowned my wife!"

"Aah! He's back!

"Why did I check my desk in?

I should've kept it!"

And here's the thing. It's not just overspending.

Everything Pruitt touches turns to shady,

so shady--so shady, in fact,

that even Fox News called him out.

- President Trump said he would drain the swamp.

- I don't-- Look, I--

- Is draining the swamp renting an apartment

from the wife of a Washington lobbyist?

- I don't think that that's even remotely fair

to ask that question.

- Why did you go around the president and the White House

to give pay raises to two staffers here?

- I did not. My staff did.

And I found out about that yesterday, and I changed it.

- So is somebody being fired for that?

- That should not have been done.

- So who did it? - And it may be--

There will be some accountability on that.

- A career person or a political person?

- I'll have to f--I don't know. I don't know who's--

- You don't know? You run the agency.

You don't know who did this?

- I think this is something that needs to be corrected.

- And do you take responsibility?

- It was a mistake by my team. - By your team.

So do you take responsibility as boss?

- I'm fixing it. I'm fixing it.

- [blubbering]

"That--that's all, folks."

I bet Pruitt didn't expect those questions

from that network.

Like, he was probably like, "My dude, we're on Fox.

"What the hell are you doing?

"Come on, you ask me how big Trump's dick is,

"I say enormous,

"and then we throw to a reverse mortgage commercial.

Come on, buddy. What's wrong with you?"

Now, before you get excited-- before you get excited,

thinking Pruitt is going to be Trump's next weekly firing,

remember one thing.

Pruitt may be an overentitled, self-dealing cabinet member,

but he's really good at being bad for the environment.

- Pruitt's saving grace may be that he's seen

by the president and other White House officials

as Mr. Trump's most effective cabinet secretary.

He's started rolling back more than two dozen

Obama-era environmental regulations,

including Mr. Obama's signature

vehicle emissions standards and Clean Power Plan.

He also successfully advocated for the president

to pull out of the Paris climate accord.

- You know, it's amazing how the only thing you need

for Trump to consider you effective

is to just hit Delete on anything Obama did.

Like, I wouldn't be shocked if the next cabinet official

is just a heavy pebble on a keyboard.

That's all it's gonna be.

Basically, with this whole scandal, Trump is like,

"Folks, I know Scott Pruitt is super dirty,

"but thanks to his hard work unprotecting the environment,

soon we'll all be every bit as dirty as he is."

- Dr. Ben Carson,

secretary of Housing and Urban Development

and real-life "Zootopia" sloth.

When he took over at HUD, he had no relevant experience

and one big goal: saving taxpayer money.

- There is a tremendous amount

of--of waste that's going on.

Uh, we're finding that waste.

- And if you think, "Oh, he's just saving money

"inside the department so he can spend more of it

on the needy people that HUD serves," no.

Frugality is a way of life for Ben Carson.

Everyone's got to tighten their belts.

- Earlier this month, Carson said public housing

should not be "too comfortable because it will make people

say, 'I'll just stay here. They will take care of me.'"

- That is extreme.

He wants to help people,

but he still wants to keep them a little miserable.

Yeah, just so they stay sharp.

I wonder if he applied this philosophy

to his brain surgery career.

He's like, "I only removed part of your tumor.

"I want to keep your brain on its toes.

Also, I put some toes in there."

Now, you may disagree with Ben Carson's view,

but you have to admire a man who's so consistently committed

to saving money.

Like, you have to admire that.

Unless it's all bullshit.

- A whistleblower at the Department of Housing

and Urban Development is sounding off.

An ex-staffer says she was demoted after refusing to spend

more than the legal $5,000 limit

to redecorate Secretary Ben Carson's new office.

- She says her supervisor told her,

"$5,000 will not even buy a decent chair."

- Seriously, you can't get a good chair

for less than $5,000, really?

You realize you can get a sex chair off of Amazon

that will literally sodomize you

and it's $49.99 with free shipping?

That's real. You can go buy it.

You can go buy it right now.

[cheers and applause]

And now, yesterday morning when this news broke,

Carson's people denied that he was out there

buying gold-plated chairs,

and that was cool for a few hours,

until this came out.

- "The New York Times" reports HUD spent $31,000

on a new dining set for Secretary Ben Carson's office

as cuts were being planned for programs

to the homeless and elderly and poor.

Ben Carson says he didn't know the table was purchased

but does not intend to return it.

- [laughs]

You know, there are times

when I doubt Ben Carson's blackness,

but then something like this happens,

and I'm like, "Yeah, that's my dude."

No, 'cause that's how black people handle shit, right?

You get something you're not supposed to,

but you have it now.

Like, the guy from Verizon will call up like,

"I'm sorry about this, but you paid for an iPhone 6

and we sent you a X by mistake."

You'll be like, "Uh, sounds like you [bleep] up.

Bye-bye."

So it turns out, Mr. Saving Money Over Here

wanted a chair for over $5,000

and then bought a dining set for $30,000.

And now "The Guardian" reported that his department

just spent over $160,000 on lounge furniture, yeah.

You realize, for that amount of money, he could have built

a poor person a decent house, yeah,

or three uncomfortable houses,

whichever way you want to go.

Like, Ben Carson is clearly doing

some shady shit at his department,

and it might also involve his wife and his son.

I don't know.

I do think this is probably why the secretary

was so evasive last year when Congress

was questioning him about his budgets.

- Sir, you have indicated that there will be

substantial cuts to the budget that HUD has.

How much from housing vouchers, Mr. Carson?

- Uh, rather than go through a quiz on all the numbers, uh--

- It's not a quiz, Mr. Carson.

I have the time to ask you questions about things

that you should have some knowledge of.

Why would the secretary of HUD not give the number,

the amount that you're cutting

from housing vouchers, Mr. Carson?

How much, Mr. Carson? - Let's hear your number.

- Mr. Carson, you're the witness testifying today.

And if you want a moment to ask someone behind you,

you would gladly accord you that moment.

- I-I don't--I don't want to open the book

and look at the numbers.

- What?

Why does he sound like a kid

who's too scared to look under the bed?

"I don't want to look under the bed

and see the monsters."

[spooky music]

You probably remember Ronny Jackson.

He's the White House physician who came out in January

and said that Trump has the strength of a hippo

and the body to match.

You remember that? Right.

Well, he said that Trump was incredibly healthy,

which shocked everybody.

Like, even God was in the front row like, "The [bleep]?"

Well, anyway, we didn't know much about him back then,

and we didn't need to,

but once Trump nominated Jackson for a cabinet position,

people started digging into his past

like he was dating Taylor Swift.

- The White House physician nominated to lead

the Department of Veterans Affairs

provided a large supply of Percocet,

a prescription opioid,

to a White House military office staff member.

A nurse on his staff said Dr. Jackson

had written himself prescriptions.

- The word is, is that on overseas trips in particular

that the admiral would go down the aisleway of the airplane

and say, "All right, who wants to go to sleep?"

and hand out the prescription drugs like they were candy.

- Like an Ambien-type drug. - Yeah, that's exactly right.

He hands out prescriptions like candy.

In fact, in the White House, they call him "the candy man."

- Now, look--now, look,

to be fair--to be fair,

giving sleeping pills to staff on overseas flights

is apparently kind of standard practice

in many administrations.

But distributing drugs like he was

the Stringer Bell of "Air Force One"

is just the beginning of Ronny Jackson's story.

- Sources telling CNN the White House doctor

allegedly became intoxicated

during multiple overseas trips on duty,

including one in 2015,

where sources say he banged on the hotel room door

of a female employee in the middle of the night.

- According to this memo,

at a Secret Service going-away party,

Jackson got drunk and wrecked a government vehicle.

- Okay, this is just shocking.

No, I can't believe that between Trump's two doctors,

Ronny Jackson is the one who might have a drinking problem.

- Brett Kavanaugh, Supreme Court nominee

and renowned dad jeans collector.

His confirmation hearings

were already controversial and contentious,

but this weekend, they reached a whole new level.

- The Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh

could be in jeopardy,

a woman going public saying

he sexually assaulted her when they were in high school.

Christine Blasey Ford,

a college professor in California,

tells "The Washington Post"

Kavanaugh and a friend were stumbling drunk

at a party in the 1980s

and allegedly forced her into a bedroom,

pinned her to a bed, and groped her.

She says, "He was trying to attack me

and remove my clothing."

She told "The Post" when she tried to scream,

he put his hand over her mouth.

Kavanaugh has categorically denied the accusation,

saying in a statement, "I did not do this

back in high school or at any time."

- Kavanaugh denies all of these allegations adamantly.

He says he didn't sexually assault anyone.

He says he doesn't remember that party.

In fact, he says he was never even 17.

He just went 15, 16, 18,

just to be safe, just to be safe.

- This confirmation process has become a national disgrace.

You have replaced advice and consent

with search and destroy.

The behavior of several of the Democratic members

of this committee at my hearing a few weeks ago

was an embarrassment.

Last-minute smears designed to scare me.

I wanted a hearing as soon as possible

to clear my name.

I demanded a hearing.

- "That's right, I demanded a hearing."

[audience booing] "You didn't give it to me.

"I demanded it!

"Anyway, if you'll put me on the court now,

"I'm prepared to put my emotions aside

"and rule fairly and soberly.

"Yeah, I think we can all agree

I know how to handle my emotions, yes, yes."

I'm not gonna lie. The contrast was striking,

because where Dr. Ford was more open

to being questioned about her experience,

this dude was behaving like the whole thing

was just wasting his time.

- It's an outrage that I was not allowed to come

and immediately defend my name

and say I didn't do this

and give you all this evidence.

I'm not even--I'm not even in D.C. on the weekends

in the summer of 1982.

- So you're saying there's never been a case

where you drank so much that you didn't remember

what happened the night before or part of what happened?

- That's--you're asking about, yeah, blackout.

I don't know. Have you?

- Could you answer the question, Judge?

It just-- So you--

That's not happened. Is that your answer?

- Yeah, and I'm curious if you have.

- This guy was such an asshole, it looked like

he was auditioning for a Snickers commercial.

He was like, "How dare you accuse me of sexual assault?

Mmm, I did it, yeah."

One frustration many people have

is that we could get to the bottom

of Ford's allegations much more easily

if the FBI was allowed to investigate

this whole thing, right?

But we're not learning anything from this.

And after watching this exchange,

I don't know if finding out the truth

is on Kavanaugh's calendar.

- Judge Kavanaugh, turn to Don McGahn

and to this committee and say,

"For the sake of my reputation, my family name,

"and to get to the bottom of the truth of this,

I am not going to be an obstacle

to an FBI investigation."

- I-I welcome whatever the committee wants to do,

'cause I'm telling the truth.

- I want to know what you want to do.

- I-I'm telling the truth.

- I want to know what you want to do, Judge.

- I'm innocent.

I'm innocent of this charge.

- Why would you resist that kind of investigation?

- Sir, I-I welcome--

I wanted the hearing last week.

- Judge Kavanaugh, will you support

an FBI investigation right now?

- I-I will do whatever the committee wants to--

- Personally, do you think

that's the best thing for us to do?

[audience jeering]

- It was at that moment that Brett knew he had [bleep] up.

[laughter and applause]

Now, Kavanaugh's confirmation process

was a bitter partisan mess,

and many people were wondering whether a confirmed Kavanaugh

would make an impartial judge.

Fortunately the new justice

believes bygones should be bygones.

- My focus now is to be the best justice I can be.

I take this office with gratitude

and no bitterness.

Every American can be assured that I will be

an independent and impartial justice

devoted to equal justice under law.

- Ooh, Democrats, you going to jail.

No, because something tells me

that this is a guy who doesn't forget, okay?

Yeah. I mean, except for when

it comes to his drinking. Then he forgets everything.

But I'm saying,

other things, he does not forget.

- Everyone has been blaming President Trump

for this week's border crisis, but it wasn't his idea alone.

We can also thank Trump's senior policy adviser,

Stephen Miller.

- President Trump's senior policy adviser, Stephen Miller,

has reportedly played a big role in the shaping

of this administration's immigration policy.

- Stephen Miller has been one of the main drivers,

pushing the president

into enforcing the separation policy.

- For more on this, we turn to senior political analyst

Michael Kosta, everybody.

[cheers and applause]

- Thank you very much. Thank you.

- Michael, um,

Stephen Miller is reportedly behind many of Donald Trump's

most heartless immigration policies:

the travel ban, canceling DACA,

and now separating kids from their parents.

How can he support causing so much pain?

- Mm.

[mockingly] "How can he support

causing so much pain?"

Calm down, you snowflakes, okay?

What you got to understand is,

riling up liberals is Stephen Miller's thing.

Don't forget, this is a guy who ran

for student government in high school

on a platform to make the janitors work harder.

He once jumped into the middle of a women's track meet

to prove that men are better athletes.

Now, did he do that because nobody would have sex with him?

No, he did it to trigger the libs.

And he had a lot of time to plan it,

because nobody would have sex with him.

- Wait, wait, wait.

So--so you're saying that getting a reaction,

an angry reaction, is what Stephen Miller wants?

- Yeah, it's not only what he wants.

It's what he thrives on.

It's what gets him out of his casket in the morning.

So don't even try, liberals.

Calling Stephen Miller a light bulb covered in skin

or what--what happens when enough cousins [bleep]

only nourishes him.

And--and pointing out

that he could rent his forehead on Airbnb

would be falling right into his trap.

- Wow, that--that's really upsetting, Michael.

- Yeah. - But on the other hand,

wouldn't calling him something

like a preregistered sex offender or--

or Satan's life coach at least make people feel a bit better?

- I mean--I mean, maybe, but it won't help.

You're talking about a guy who puts his whole mouth

on a public water fountain.

You can't get to him. [audience groans]

I mean--I mean, sure, you could--

you could Photoshop his face to look like a herpes sore

or-- [audience groans]

Or slap it on a couple of bull testicles

or just turn that mouth into a urinal.

You could do all of that.

But he's just going to make that

his profile pic on Tinder.

- So--so if I understand what you're saying,

it's really best not to engage at all with this guy

who looks like how tuna smells.

- Yeah, I-I... I'm afraid so.

In fact, I brought a chart to help explain, okay?

So now, look, here are people

who think they can shame Stephen Miller

into changing his mind, and here are people who think

they can insult Stephen Miller into changing his mind.

But what they don't get is that Stephen Miller,

as my chart explains,

he's actually above it all, okay?

See what I mean?

[laughter]

[cheers and applause]

- He...

he looks like a huge dickhead.

- What did I just-- what did I just say, man?

- I'm--I'm still learning. Michael Kosta, everyone.

UP NEXT, CHANTAL, ANDREW AND

PAUL ARE HERE.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CARBON TAX

AND

AN IMPERATIVE TO PUT A PRICE ON

POLLUTION AND AN IMPERATIVE TO

HELP CANADIAN FAMILIES ADJUST.

>> CANADIANS HAVE KNOWN ALL

ALONG THAT JUSTIN TRUDEAU'S

CARBON TAX WAS JUST A TAX PLAN

DRESSED UP AS AN EMISSIONS PLAN.

NOW WE KNOW IT'S ALSO JUST AN

ELECTION GIMMICK.

>> THE IDEA THAT WE NEED TO

LIMIT OUR EMISSIONS IS

IMPORTANT.

IT HAS TO BE DONE IN A WAY THAT

IS PROGRESSIVE.

>> IT'S A CYNICAL ATTEMPT BY THE

TRUDEAU GOVERNMENT TO BUY YOUR

VOTE WITH YOUR MONEY.

>> PEOPLE DON'T WANT THIS TAX.

THIS CARBON TAX DOES NOTHING FOR

THE ENVIRONMENT.

>> Rosemary: WE ALL KNEW IT WAS

COMING, THE PROVINCES HEARD THE

WARNINGS AND THIS WEEK THE

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT REVEALED ITS

PLAN TO IMPOSE A CARBON TAX ON

THOSE WHO REFUSED ONE OF THE

CRITICS CAME OUT SWINGING,

ACCUSING THE LIBERALS OF BUYING

VOTES BY GIVING RELATBATES DIRECTLY

TO TAXPAYERS.

CHANTAL HÉBERT IS IN MONTREAL.

ANDREW COYNE IN VANCOUVER AND

PAUL WELLS IN OTTAWA.

THE FEDERAL BACKSTOP, THIS THING

THEY ANNOUNCED THIS WEEK, IS IT

GOOD POLICY, DOES IT MAKE SENSE?

>> YES.

THERE IS PLENTY OF EVIDENCE THAT

SUPPORTS THE CONTENTION THAT IT

IS GOOD POLICY.

I THINK THE MAIN GOAL,

POLICYWISE OF THE GOVERNMENT IS

TO INTRODUCE THE FRAMEWORK FOR

CARBON PRICING.

AND GO ON FROM THERE.

SO THE LEVELS WILL PROBABLY NOT

MEET THE EMISSIONS TARGET OR THE

REDUCTIONS THAT WE SHOULD BE

LOOKING AT TO MEET OUR

INTERNATIONAL COMMITMENTS.

I THINK THEIR THEORY IS ONCE YOU

GET THE FRAMEWORK IN, THEN YOU

CAN WORK WITH IT.

>> Rosemary: ANDREW?

SO THE IDEA YOU WOULD PAY MORE

FOR CERTAIN THINGS BECAUSE GAS

AND OIL ARE BEING USED AND YOU

WOULD GET A REBATE.

I SHOULD POINT OUT, IT'S NOT A

MONTHLY CHEQUE, IT'S AN END OF

YEAR THING, DOES THAT SEEM SOUND

TO YOU?

>> THE IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT

IS FROM THE PRICING OF THE

CARBON.

CARBON DIOXIDE.

THAT SIGNAL THAT INCENTIVE

REMAINS IN PLACE EVEN IF YOU

GIVE PEOPLE BACK A REBATE,

BECAUSE THEY'RE STILL BETTER OFF

THE MORE THEY CAN CUT BACK ON

THEIR CONSUMPTION.

IF THEY CAN'T CUT BACK, THEY'RE

COVERED BY THE REBATE.

IF THEY CAN, AND MOST PEOPLE

CAN, THEN THEY GET TO SAVE MORE

OF THAT REBATE.

THE FISCAL INCENTIVE REMAINS IN

PLACE.

IT'S VERY GOOD POLICY.

IT'S PATCHY.

THEY PUT IN ALL KINDS OF

EXCEPTIONS FOR VARIOUS SECTORS

AND VARIOUS PARTS OF THE

COUNTRY.

AND OF COURSE THEY'RE DOING THIS

ON TOP OF ALL THE OTHER LESS

WELL CONSIDERED POLICIES THAT

ARE IN PLACE AND MORE THEY'RE

ADDING.

MOST SMALL-C CONSERVATIVE

ADVOCATES WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT

REPLACING THOSE MEASURES RATHER

THAN BEING LAYERED ON TOP.

>> Rosemary: PAUL, YOU SUGGEST

THAT IT MIGHT BE SO EFFICIENT

THAT OTHER PROVINCES WILL WANT

TO BUY IN, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE

THEIR OWN PLAN?

AND I THINK ANDREW'S POINT IS A

GOOD ONE, WE DON'T KNOW HOW IT'S

GOING TO CHANGE PEOPLE'S

BEHAVIOR.

IT'S POSSIBLE IT WILL CHANGE IT

MORE OR LESS AND THAT IS THE

PART THAT IS DIFFICULT FOR THE

GOVERNMENT TO PROJECT.

>> SO I WAS BEING A LITTLE

TONGUE IN CHEEK, IF IT IS SO

OBVIOUS THIS IS A BETTER PLAN,

THEN IN THE OTHER PROVINCES

PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE

SCRAMBLING TO GET IN.

I WAS TOLD THE NEXT DAY BY JASON

KENNEY FOR A STORY I'M PREPARING

THAT IN FACT THE REBATE IS MORE

GENEROUS AS A PENALTY FOR LIVING

IN DOUG FORD'S ONTARIO.

YOU GET A PENALTY THAT IS MORE

GENEROUS THAN THE ONE YOU GET AS

A REWARD FOR LIVING IN RACHEL

NOTLEY'S ALBERTA.

OF COURSE, THAT'S THE KIND OF

POINT THAT JASON KENNEY WOULD

MAKE.

BUT IT POINTS OUT, LOOK, I'M NOT

SURE THIS IS EVEN GOOD POLICY.

PEOPLE WILL SAY BETTER LATE THAN

NEVER, BUT IT'S LATE BECAUSE

THIS GOVERNMENT IS INTRODUCING

THIS TAX IN THE FOURTH YEAR OF

ITS MANDATE.

IF IT HAD GONE QUICKLY WITH

PIECEMEAL MEASURES, THERE ARE

LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF THINGS

THAT COULD BE HAVE BEEN DONE

WHILE, YOU KNOW, INSTEAD OF

SPENDING YEARS OF SPENDING

CHICKEN WITH THE PROVINCES.

AND THE DETAILS ARE ALMOST

HALLUCINATI

HALLUCINATING.

THE PEOPLE SAY IT'S BECAUSE OF

ENERGY USAGE PATTERNS, BUT EACH

ONTARIAN DOESN'T FEEL LIKE HALF

A SASKATCHEWANIAN.

AND THAT'S WHEN THE STUFF IS

GOING TO MATTER.

>> YOU'VE GOT BRIAN PALLISTER IN

MANITOBA COMPLAINING WHY WAS

MANITOBA KICKED OF THE PLAN, AND

YET NEWFOUNDLAND'S IS.

AND I THINK THAT WOULD PROBABLY

BEAR SCRUTINY AS TO DID -- ARE

POLITICS BEING PLAYED HERE WHERE

YOU HAVE LIBERAL FORTUNES RIDING

ON QUÉBEC AND ATLANTIC CANADA,

DID THEY LOOK THE OTHER WAY AND

ACCEPT A PLAN THAT WAS LESS THAN

OPTIMAL, SO AS NOT TO HAVE TO

FIGHT WITH NEWFOUNDLAND AS WELL

AS EVERYBODY ELSE?

>> Rosemary: IS IT GOOD

POLITICS, CHANTAL?

MAYBE SOME PARTS AND NOT THE

OTHER?

>> WE ARE FOR ONE, CAPTIVE OR

PRISONERS OF OUR RECENT HISTORY

IN THE SENSE THAT UNDER STEPHEN

HARPER A NUMBER OF PROVINCES

DECIDED TO TAKE MATTERS INTO

THEIR OWN HANDS AS THEY COULD

AND THE VOTERS IN THOSE

PROVINCES BELIEVED THEY SHOULD.

SO QUÉBEC GOT ITSELF INTO A

CARBON MARKET.

B.C. INTRODUCED A CARBON TAX.

THIS IS A DECADE'S WORTH OF

PUBLIC POLICY THAT HAS GENERATED

A WIDE POLITICAL CONSENSUS.

SO THAT THE NOTION THAT JUSTIN

TRUDEAU'S GOVERNMENT COULD WALK

IN AND SAY FORGET ALL OF THOSE

THINGS, DISMANTLE THEM BECAUSE

I'M INTRODUCING A PLAN MAKES NO

SENSE.

BUT I DON'T THINK THAT A YEAR

AGO, THE LIBERALS BELIEVED THAT

THEY WOULD HAVE TO FIGHT AN

ELECTION ON THIS, BECAUSE LESS

THAN A YEAR AGO, THEY HAD

BUY-IN, IN ONTARIO, NOT ONLY

FROM THE LIBERALS WHO WERE

THREATENED WITH NOT GETTING

REELECTION, BUT ALSO FROM THE

PATRICK BROWN CONSERVATIVES.

>> I WANT TO PLAY A CLIP OF

ANDREW SCHEER.

THEN FRAME IT IN THAT WAY, ABOUT

WHETHER THIS IS GOING END UP

BEING AN ELECTION ABOUT WHAT

PEOPLE CHOOSE TO DO, NOT DO OR

VARIATIONS.

>> LARGE INDUSTRIAL POLLUTERS

HAVE BEEN GRANTED A SPECIAL

EXEMPTION.

THEY WON'T PAY ANYTHING UNDER

THIS PLAN WHILE HARD-WORKING

INDIVIDUAL CANADIANS AND

FAMILIES WILL BEAR THE FULL

BRUNT OF THIS NEW TAX.

CANADIANS WON'T BE TRICKED BY

THIS.

THEY KNOW AN ELECTION GIMMICK

WHEN THEY SEE ONE.

>> Rosemary: SO, HIS PLAN, HE'S

BEEN PUTTING IT FOR MONTHS NOW

AND IT SEEMS TO BE WITH HOW THE

GLOBE CAN REDUCE CLIMATE

EMISSIONS.

I DON'T KNOW HOW THAT WORKS.

PAUL, WOULD THIS BE AN ELECTION

ISSUE AND HOW SERIOUS A PLAN

DOES ANDREW SCHEER HAVE TO HAVE

IN ORDER TO COUNTER WHAT THE

LIBERALS PUT FORWARD?

>> I HAVE A HARD TIME IMAGINING

THIS WILL NOT BE AT LEAST ONE OF

THE MAJOR ISSUES IN THE NEXT

ELECTION.

AND PROBABLY IT WILL SWAMP

EVERYTHING ELSE.

IT'S TOO CLOSE TO THE MODERN

CONSERVATIVE PARTY'S ROOTS AND

SELF-IMAGE IN THE

RESOURCE-PRODUCING WEST.

IT'S TOO CLOSE TO THE PRIDE OF

THE LIBERALS OF -- OF THE

TRUDEAU LIBERALS IN FACT IN

BEING THE FIRST GENERATION OF

LIBERALS TO ACTUALLY WANT TO DO

SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.

AND SO EVEN -- FORGET ELECTORAL

CALCULATIONINGS, BOTH SIDES FEEL

IT TOO MUCH.

HOW MUCH OF A PLAN DOES ANDREW

SCHEER NEED?

I'LL TELL YOU THIS, THIS IS HOW

MUCH OF A PLAN JUSTIN TRUDEAU

HAD IN 2015.

THE WORD CARBON APPEARS TEN

TIMES IN THE LIBERAL PLATFORM.

S OF THOSE TIMES IT WAS A CARBON

FUND, IT WAS GOING TO BE MONEY

YOU GOT INSTEAD OF MONEY THAT

YOU RECEIVED.

AND FOUR MENTIONS OF CARBON IN

JUSTIN TRUDEAU'S PLATFORM WERE

VAGUE AND PASSING REFERENCES TO

PRICING.

THAT IS HOW MUCH JUSTIN TRUDEAU

NEEDED TO GET ELECTED, SO I

DON'T KNOW, HOW MUCH DOES ANDREW

SCHEER NEED?

>> Rosemary: WHAT DO YOU THINK,

ANDREW?

COULD THIS GALVANIZE PEOPLE TO

GO VOTE?

WOULD IT GET THEM NEW VOTERS?

I DON'T SEE HOW YOU PICK UP NEW

VOTERS WHERE YOU'RE THIS DEEPLY

ENTRENCHED.

>> IT MAY OR MAY NOT BE THE

ELECTION ISSUE.

ANYTIME YOU SEE AN ISSUE FROM A

MILE AWAY, OFTEN IS NOT PARTY'S

MOVE TO NEUTRALIZE IT.

THEY TRY TO MAKE SURE THEY DON'T

LOSE ON IT.

I THINK WE'VE BEEN WATCHING ALL

ALONG FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW TO

SEE HOW SERIOUS THE PUBLIC

REALLY IS ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE

AND DEALING WITH CLIMATE CHANGE.

I THINK THE CORRECT BET IS

PROVING TO BE THEY'RE NOT THAT

SERIOUS.

IN THE LIBERAL CASE, MAKE SURE

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING

FOR IT.

WE'LL COMPENSATE YOU FOR ANY

OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES, SO

HOPING PEOPLE WON'T BE PUT OUT

THAT WAY.

IN THE CONSERVATIVE CASE,

THEY'LL NEED SOMETHING CALLED A

PLAN, THAT WILL CONTAIN A LOT OF

BUSY WORK OF THE KINDS WE'VE

SEEN BEFORE THAT WON'T ACTUALLY

DO ANYTHING, BUT THE COST WILL

BE HIDDEN FROM CONSUMERS.

AND THEY'LL BET THAT PEOPLE WILL

BE CONTENT, EVEN IF THEY KNOW IN

THE BACK OF THEIR MIND THEY'RE

PAYING FOR THESE THINGS, I THINK

PEOPLE THINK, DON'T SHOW IT TO

ME.

I HATE TO BE CYNICAL, BUT I

SUSPECT THAT'S THE CASE.

>> Rosemary: [LAUGHTER] CHANTAL,

ON THAT POINT, WHETHER IT'S AN

ELECTION ISSUE?

>> I'M NOT CONVINCED IT'S GOING

TO BE THAT EASY TO GET AWAY WITH

I DON'T HAVE MUCH OF PLAN, BUT

YOU WON'T SEE A CARBON TAX.

FOR TWO REASONS.

YOUNG ARE VOTERS.

THEY DID HELP JUSTIN TRUDEAU BY

SHOWING UP IN DROVES AND VOTING

FOR THE LIBERALS BY A PROPORTION

OF 2:1.

TAKE THIS ISSUE MORE SERIOUSLY

THAN ELDERS.

AND TWO, THE CARBON TAX ISSUE,

LIKE JUSTIN TRUDEAU CARBON TAX,

I WAS IN VANCOUVER WHEN ALL THIS

WAS ROLLED OUT AND IT WAS NOT

EVEN MAJOR NEWS STORY.

WHY?

BECAUSE IT'S NOT HAPPENING IN

B.C. WHERE PEOPLE HAVE VOTED FOR

PARTIES THAT ARE ALL INTO CARBON

PRICING.

SAME IN QUÉBEC.

SO YOU'VE GOT VOTERS IN TWO

LARGE ELECTORAL MARKETS --

EXCUSE ME, ONTARIO -- THAT

ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN LIVING UNDER

A CARBON PRICING REGIME FOR TEN

YEARS AND HAVE NOT KICKED

ANYBODY OUT OF OFFICE OVER IT.

ON THE CONTRARY.

>> Rosemary: THIS IS GOING TO BE

HARD TO DO, BUT ASIDE FROM WHAT

IS HAPPENING IN THE UNITED

STATES, I MEAN THE POLITICAL

DIVISIVENESS WE'VE BEEN SEEING

FOR -- I MEAN, YEARS, BUT

OBVIOUSLY RAMPED UP LEADING UP

TO THE MIDTERMS.

AND THIS MAY OR MAY NOT BE WHAT

IS CAUSING THE EXPLOSIVE DEVICES

TO BE MAILED AROUND.

THERE SEEMS TO BE A POLITICAL

MOTIVATION.

WHY ARE WE NOT SEEING THIS

POLARIZATION IN CANADA?

PAUL, QUICK ANSWER.

>> I'M NOT SURE THE DIFFERENCE

IS THAT GREAT.

A HARD RIGHT CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR

IN TORONTO GOT 25,000 VOTES.

YOU HAVE TO SPEND A HALF HOUR ON

TWITTER TO SEE ALL KINDS OF

PEOPLE CALLING ONE ANOTHER THE

MOST HORRIBLE NAMES.

YOU KNOW, THE UNITED STATES HAS

ALL THAT, PLUS PROBABLY ONE

LONER MAILING OUT PIPE BOMBS.

I DON'T THINK THAT'S A HUGE

DIFFERENCE.

>> THE U.S. HAS ALWAYS GONE TO

MORE EXTREMES THAN CANADA.

THEY'VE ALSO BEEN THROUGH A

SERIES OF TRAUMAS, WHETHER THE

FINANCIAL CRISIS, THE TERRORISTS

ATTACKS, THE IRAQ WAR, NOTHING

LIKE WE'VE EXPERIENCED TO THE

SAME DEGREE.

AND THEY HAVE PEOPLE MOVING INTO

MORE LIBERAL AREAS, SELF-SORTING

AND NEVER HAVING TO DO ANYTHING

WITH PEOPLE UNLIKE THEMSELVES.

ADD THAT UP IT'S A RECIPE FOR

TOXICITY.

>> BUT WE HAVE LEFT WEDGES AN

CENTRAL ISSUES.

MAIN STREAM PARTIES OR MAIN

NO LONGER AFFORD MY HOUSE?

>> THERE IS A POSSIBILITY TO

CONSOLIDATE ANY LOAN WE HAD WITH

THE CAR LOAN.

>> THAT'S THE REAL CHALLENGE

FINDING A GOOD BALANCE.

A WAY APPROACHING MONEY THAT IS

SENSIBLE.

>> Ian: WE'VE BEEN TALKING MONEY

ALL WEEK AS PART OF "DEBT

NATION", OUR CBC NEWS SERIES OF

THE BANK OF CANADA RAISED

INTEREST RATES AGAIN, THE FIFTH

HIKE IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF

AND THAT IS MAKING WARNINGS

ABOUT TAKING ON TOO MUCH DEBT

LOUDER.

WE HEARD A LITTLE BIT OF IT

THERE.

WHETHER IT'S CAR LOANS,

MORTGAGES, HOW DEEP IS THE DEBT?

>> IT'S PRETTY DEEP.

YOU LOOK AT THE NUMBERS, THE

STATISTICS ARE EYE-POPPING.

FOR EVERY DOLLAR WE EARN,

CANADIANS OWE $1.69.

THE AVERAGE CANADIAN OWES

$23,000 AND THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE

MORTGAGE.

WHEN YOU FACTOR IN MORTGAGE

DEBT, WE OWE $2.1 TRILLION.

EACH ONE OF THOSE DATA POINTS

TELLS SOMEONE'S STORY.

>> MISFORTUNATE EVENTS LED ME

INTO FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES.

>> MY ADDICTION WAS CREDIT

CARDS.

>> IN 2013, I WAS OUT OF A

CORPORATE JOB.

>> FIVE DAYS AFTER MY HUSBAND

FOUND OUT MY DAD HAD PASSED

AWAY, MY LUNG COLLAPSED.

IT TOOK A YEAR AND A HALF GOING

THROUGH THIS WITH NO MONEY

BESIDES EI AND EVENTUALLY, AT

ONE POINT, WELFARE WHEN I CALLED

THE CREDIT COUNSELLING SOCIETY

OF BRITISH COLUMBIA, I WAS IN

TEARS.

IT WAS CHRISTMAS TIME.

AND I KNEW THAT I WASN'T GOING

TO BE ABLE TO PAY THE RENT.

>> MY HIGHEST DEBT WAS ABOUT

$50,000.

IT MAXED OUT MY CARDS.

I WOULD GO TO THE BANK, GET A

CONSOLIDATION LOAN.

THEN HAVE THAT LOAN TO PAY OFF,

BUT A BANK WOULD OFFER ME

ANOTHER CARD TO HELP WITH THAT.

>> I WAS IN HOCK TO THE TUNE OF

$140,000.

I HAD TWO CREDIT CARDS MAXED

RIGHT OUT AND TWO LINES OF

CREDIT.

>> I'M NOT AFRAID TO ANSWER MY

PHONE ANYMORE.

IT USED TO BE THAT I HAD

COLLECTORS PHONING ME LEFT,

RIGHT AND CENTRE.

>> I PAID OFF ABOUT $45,000 OF

MY DEBT.

AND THAT FEELS INCREDIBLY -- I

MEAN THERE IS NO WORDS.

>> I FEEL THE SITUATION I'M IN

NOW IS TRANSITIONAL.

I'M NOT WHERE I WANT TO BE, BUT

I'M ON THE PATH THERE.

>> Ian: JUST HEARING THOSE

STORIES, MAKES ME FEEL ANXIOUS.

AT LEAST THEY'RE OPTIMISTIC AND

THEY'RE ON THE PATH OF GETTING

OUT OF DEBT.

BUT TO WHAT EXTENT DOES THAT

DEPEND ON THE ECONOMY?

>> THAT'S A GOOD POINT.

THEY'RE INTERTWINED.

INTEREST RATES WENT UP AROUND

2017.

THAT IS ABOUT THE SAME TIME THAT

THE ECONOMY REALLY STARTED

CHUGGING ALONG.

EVEN NOW, 58% OF CANADIANS TOLD

US THAT IF THEIR COSTS WENT UP

BY MORE THAN 100 BUCKS A MONTH,

THEY'D HAVE TO CHANGE THEIR

SPENDING HABITS.

THE CENTRAL BANK WORRIES.

SURE, THINGS ARE GOOD NOW.

BUT WHAT IF THINGS START TO SLOW

DOWN?

>> WE'RE AT THE STAGE WHERE THE

ECONOMY IS OPERATING WHERE IT

CAN.

IT'S WHERE IT SHOULD BE.

AND THE QUESTION IS HOW MUCH

LONGER CAN IT GO?

AND THE ANSWER IS, FOR A REALLY

LONG TIME IF NOTHING HAPPENS TO

MESS IT UP.

>> Reporter: THAT'S ABOUT AS

OPTIMISTIC AS THE CENTRAL BANK

IS GOING TO GET.

WE SET OUT TO FIND A TIPPING

POINT.

WHAT WOULD PUSH THIS FROM

CONCERNS OVER DEBT TO A DEBT

CRISIS?

AND WE FOUND THERE IS NO ONE

ANSWER.

THERE IS NOT A SINGLE INTEREST

RATE THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING.

DEBT IS MORE LIKE A FAULT LINE.

IT THREADS THROUGH EVERYTHING

ELSE.

CANADA IS NOT ALONE IN THE

PROBLEM.

LOOK AT DEBT LEVELS HOW THEY

COMPARE TO OTHER COUNTRIES, IT'S

NOT PRETTY.

>> Ian: THANK YOU.

>> Adrienne: THE FINANCE

MINISTER SAYS CANADA'S ECONOMY

IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND HE'LL

RELEASE A FALL ECONOMIC UPDATE

ON NOVEMBER 21ST.

>> HERE'S SOME OF THE OTHER

STORIES.

ON FRIDAY, A FRENCH COURT OF

APPEAL WILL DECIDE WHETHER TO

UPHOLD THE JANUARY DECISION THAT

RELEASED A CANADIAN ACADEMIC

FROM MORE THAN THREE YEARS IN

PRISON WITHOUT FORMAL CHARGES.

HASSAN DIAB WAS LINKED TO THE

BOOMING OF A PAIRS -- BOMBING OF

A PARIS SYNAGOGUE.

>> I'M NOT SAYING IT ISN'T A

THRILL TO WIN IT, BUT NEVER

ENTERED MY MIND I WOULD.

>> Adrienne: A FEW WEEKS AGO WE

BROUGHT YOU THE STORY OF DONNA

STRICKLAND.

JUST THE THIRD WOMAN TO WIN A

NOBEL PRIZE FOR PHYSICS.

AT THE TIME SHE WAS AN ASSOCIATE

PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF

WATERLOO AND THERE WAS

QUESTIONING WHY THE UNIVERSITY

HADN'T PROMOTED HER.

NOW IT HAS.

STRICKLAND IS NOW A FULL

PROFESSOR.

>> Rosemary: YOU WOULD HOPE SO,

RIGHT?

THE MOMENT IS UP NEXT.

AND TONIGHT IT'S A WARM

RECEPTION FOR A SPECIAL GUEST

INSIDE THE HOUSE OF COMMONS.

[APPLAUSE]

>> DON WHILE HAS MEMORIES.

HE WAS PART OF THE CANADIAN

FORCE THAT PLAYS A ORIGINAL ROLE

IN THE LIBERATION AND THE DUTCH,

WELL, THEY HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN.

THEY THANKED CANADA DURING A

SPEECH IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS,

AND HE SINGLED WHITE OUT

SPECIFICALLY FOR HIS SERVICE.

HIS MESSAGE OF GRATITUDE IS OUR

MOMENT OF THE DAY.

>> THE DUTCH FEEL A DEEP

CONNECTION WITH PEOPLES OF

CANADA AND WITH GOOD REASON, A

REASON THAT IS EMBODIED BY ONE

MAN, A VETERAN OF THE ROYAL

CANADIAN WHO HELPED LIBERATE THE

NETHERLANDS FROM NAZI

LIBERATION, MR. DON WHITE.

[ APPLAUSE ]

>> WE WERE ABLE TO DO THIS FOR

THE PEOPLE THERE.

THAT VEHICLE IS EITHER THE

VEHICLE I WAS IN OR MY OFFICER

WAS IN.

THAT'S THE DAY WE LIBERATED THE

TOWN.

THERE WAS A FEELING IN THE

ATMOSPHERE THAT I CAN HARDLY

DESCRIBE, BUT TO THIS DAY, I'LL

REMEMBER IT.

PEOPLE WERE OVERJOYED, JUST A

FEELING THAT I GOT OF THE

RELEASE THEY HAD FROM THE YEARS

THEY HAD BEEN OPPRESSED.

>> THANKS TO POWER IN POLITICS

FOR SOME OF THAT TAPE OF DON

TALKING.

IT WAS VERY EMOTIONAL INSIDE THE

HOUSE, AND IT WAS CERTAINLY VERY

EMOTIONAL FOR HIM.

HE'S 94.

>> THAT OVATION WENT ON FOR

WHITE SOME TIME.

IT'S INTERESTING.

HE WAS ASKED, WHY DID HE THINK,

YOU KNOW, THE DUTCH LIKED THE

CANADIANS SO MUCH.

ASIDE FROM THE BRAVERY OF THE

SHOULDERS, HE SAYS IT'S BECAUSE

THEY SHARED THEIR FOOD AND THEY

ASKED TO HALF THE RATIONS AND

GIVE THE REST TO THE POPULATION

THERE.

>> THE MEMORIES.

THE SACRIFICE WAS DEEP IN

HOLLAND, BELGIUM, NORTHERN

FRANCE FOR THE CANADIANS AND

OTHER ALLIED SOLDIERS.

IT'S NICE TO SEE THAT REAL

EMOTION SO MANY YEARS LATER.

I'LL PUT MY PLUG IN IN TERMS OF

TRAVEL TO EUROPE IF PEOPLE

HAVEN'T ALREADY THE OPPORTUNITY

TO SEE THAT GRATITUDE MODERN DAY

IN NORTHERN EUROPE IS WORTH THE

TRIP.

The REAL MEXICO CITY | MEXICO on a BUDGET | BALDERAS, NINOS HEROES & DOCTORES - Duration: 9:12.

hola buenas tardes bienvenidos a La CIUDAD DE MEXICO hoy es sabado Feliz

semana I hope you all had a lovely week and you're also having a great weekend

Condesa is arguably one of the most popular areas to stay in Mexico City

despite the fact that I just walked past a guy urinating up against a tree but

never mind that it's also full of fantastic beautiful

and colorful architecture it's full of restaurants it's full of bars and it's

full of cafes but I don't like it what okay bare with me this video is not a

negative video about Condesa I don't really like Condesa

purely because it's just not my kind of area okay when you're a traveler when

you travel a lot there will be some areas that you just don't want to and I

haven't warmed to Condesa you might think that Condesa is not my

kind of area because of the expense yes it's an expensive area to stay in Mexico

City and yes that is a factor if I'm honest but the other reason is much more

important than that which I'm going to cover in this video I absolutely

understand as a tourist that maybe you have a bit more money that is in Mexico

City for a short period you will probably stay in Condesa and yeah I

probably would as well if I was a tourist but the fact is I'm not a

tourist I've been traveling full-time for the last two years while working

online so I look for different things in terms of my travel which we're going to

go into a bit more now so where else could you stay in Mexico City you could

stay in Condesa or you could stay in Balderas!

Ninos Heroes sorry I can never pronounce that and you could even stay in doctores

so you might be thinking that some of these areas look like absolute hell

holes for example there's a building behind me graffiti smash windows things

like that you might be thinking that these areas are noisy chaotic full of

locals and potentially you might not feel safe particularly at certain times

of the day and they're all valid points who cares if not what travel is all

about at least it for me it's about having an authentic experience in a

country and some of that Condesa for me isn't authentic you know one of the

things I wanted to do when I came to Mexico for the first time my hair is

annoying me is dispel the myth about Mexico that it's a dangerous and horrendous country you

know modern media like YouTube craps all over mainstream media so when you're in

Mexico I implore you to come to areas like this

to experience the real Mexico

now of course there are some areas which I would not recommend you go to Mexico

City I did a video recently about is Mexico City safe on the whole it is but

there are some areas that I would advise not going to for example Tepito I

believe it's never one known for drug dealers

Garibaldi Guerrero I lived in Guerrero right next to the metro station for

about a month I didn't have an issue at all but just down the road and Garibaldi

is also an area that's known for that kind of thing violence etc there was a

shooting there on Independence Day weekend so obviously there are areas

just like in every city where you do have to look out I'm not saying these

areas are perfectly safe and that you're never going to have a problem here but

you know think about your home you know London I don't live in Buckingham Palace

I live in a hellhole shithole area in West London it's normal it's boring it's

everyday life and that's what I'm talking about experience everyday life

in Mexico City so I know in my final stop of the day which is Doctores

yes I live in Doctores many of you have warned me many of you have been

surprised about the fact that I'm staying here many people can't

understand why I'm living in Doctores my Airbnb it's just down that road and you

know what it's the cheapest air B&B in the whole of Mexico City, am i a cheapskate

maybe I am do I care no like I said at the beginning of a budget traveler okay

I am a travel full-time for a living I'm not gonna spend and waste money on

someone I'm Condesa when it's not necessary if I can find somewhere

cheaper that does the job it's got bad it's got Wi-Fi that's all I need then

I'm gonna do it you got a park over there very nice

so yeah this park is very nice you've got people walking their dogs over there

you might have people sleeping on benches at night you might have a guy

outside my apartment sleeping in his car for the whole time I've been here

that's life that's city life it happens in your city

the thing about Doctores is that you might have seen lots of videos where

doctores is mentioned as one of the places that people shouldn't go

solutely disasterous if you stay here there was a shooting over the road last

week outside Oxxo, how many times has that happened in my entire time in

Mexico City? once that's it do I feel unsafe because of it no I

don't because I'm used to living in this sort of place you have to be streetwise

and use your whiles as I said in the last video about safety you know doctores

there's nothing here all right I'm not going to lie and say that it's this

amazing wicked place because it's not it's just regular and normal it's pretty

much the home of car mechanics down that road down there there's loads of places

fixing cars changing tires the smell of oil there's dog poo everywhere people do

not pick up their dog poo but despite all that do I still like it of course I

do this has been my home for the last month so yeah welcome to Doctores so

if you've enjoyed seeing the contrast between somewhere like Condesa

and what I call the real Mexico see why not leave a like down the bottom and

more importantly leave a comment I will be very interested to hear your thoughts

on other areas of Mexico City if you've been to Mexico City did you stay in

condesa what were your thoughts on it or like me have you stayed somewhere

else and what were your thoughts you get the gist and also don't forget to

subscribe my place is just over the road now so I'm gonna go home thank you for

watching I'll see you in the next video I'll catch you later

thank you

as the last two times this year Major General Kim Dugan from the south and

inter-korean dialogue in Seoul before they left for Parmenter earlier let's

hear what the head of the South Korean delegation Major General Kim told the

fully implementing the September 19th comprehensive multi agreement and by

bringing our best efforts we helped the inter-korean military talks achieve

their goal and play a significant role in leading the demonization and

establishment of Perpetual peace on the Korean Peninsula general Kim also said

the two sides will aim to conduct an assessment of the comprehensive military

Man Utd transfer news: Jose Mourinho receives £99m warning - 'He's worth more than Pogba' - Duration: 3:15.

Jose Mourinho is keen to sign two more players before tomorrow's 5pm deadline and midfielder Milinkovic-Savic remains a priority on his wishlist

United have been strongly linked with a move for the 23-year-old but Lazio are playing hardball over any potential deal

Reports in Italy claim Mourinho has ordered super agent Jorge Mendes to work on a deal to bring the Serbian to Old Trafford

However, Lazio's president Claudio Lotito has revealed the hefty fee the Red Devils will have to fork out if they want to secure his signature

Lotito claims he is worth way more than the £89m United spent on Paul Pogba two summers ago

MAN UTD TRANSFER NEWS: LIVE UPDATES  "Sergej is the best young midfielder in the world, and he has a great margin for improvement," Lotito said

"However, so far, no one has come forward. I haven't received any offers from Milan or Juventus, let alone from Real Madrid and Manchester United

"I certainly won't push to sell him, but if you ask me how much he is worth, then I need to remind you that last year I turned down €110m

"How much was Pogba sold for to Man United? Then Milinkovic-Savic is worth even more, because he's much better

"Now rest assured, I'm not interested in loan formulas or technical counterparts

"  United's decision to enter the bidding for Milinkovic-Savic could depend on Pogba with the Frenchman reportedly keen to leave for Barcelona

Express Sport understands United are furious with Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, as he looks to negotiate a deal with the Catalan giants

United have rejected out of hand a double player-plus-cash deal for Pogba from the Spanish club

Their offer of £44.6million plus defender Yerry Mina and midfielder Andres Gomes was laughed off by United's hierarchy – but they are not happy with Raiola for giving encouragement to Barca

But United may have to look elsewhere to raise transfer funds with the club adamant the France World Cup winner remains a vital part of their plans despite his problems with Mourinho last season
